Confusion As Renault And Nissan Merger Talks Near Closure

Just yesterday, CarBuzz reported on what appeared to be a somewhat concrete end to negotiations between Renault, Nissan, and Mitsubishi. The trio of brands have been struggling to reach a compromise on their partnership in the years since disgraced ex-boss Carlos Ghosn fled Japan.
Now, sources from inside the talks have told Bloomberg that another path has emerged. Originally, talks were to be held on December 7 in London. An announcement regarding the partnership was to be made by the end of the year. Now, Nissan CEO Makato Uchida has flown to France ahead of schedule for talks with the December 7 sit-down now reportedly dead. Uchida is said to be attending a board meeting of the alliance this Tuesday, which will take place at Renault HQ- Boulogne-Billancourt. At the request of the sources, Bloomberg has not identified them. For that reason, it is unclear if these are the same sources who made claims about the December 7 talks in London. We suspect they may be.
These sources confirmed that these Paris talks will be held in lieu of the originally planned London meeting between the autos manufacturers. Renault is pushing for Nissan's investment in Ampere, its EV business, as Nissan works to flesh out its own electric lineup with models like the Ariya.
Reportedly, Nissan's stake in Ampere would total between $500 and $700 million in exchange for a 15% stake in the brand. As previously reported, Nissan is insistent on more equal footing with Renault in the partnership. As of publishing, Renault owns a roughly 43% stake in Nissan, while Nissan does not even have voting privileges within Renault. The Japanese automaker wants that stake to gradually reduce to somewhere around 15% over an unspecified period of time.
On Thursday, Nissan's Uchida told Bloomberg that the brand is in talks "every day" with Renault, looking for ways to bring the alliance "to the next step" while becoming "stronger together."

I just bought a Nissan on April 13th and wanted to inquire about the payoff amount. NMAC informed me that my contract (i.e., purchase date of the vehicle) was March 29th. NMAC then informed me that I have been accruing interest on a vehicle I did not own for two weeks racking up nearly $200 in interest for this timeframe. I was told to contact the dealer to adjust this. Dealer told me to go ** myself speaking with the financing manager. I tried contacting the general manager only to be blown off. Sales manager has been negligent as well. Nissans objective is to sell a vehicle then screw the customer. If I had known this, I would have never bought a Nissan. Now, I am told I am SOL by both the dealer and NMAC. This is flat out fraud. In this economy, customer service is more important than ever. I wonder why Hyundai, a once inferior product, is gaining traction where Nissan is losing traction and value. Nissan and NMAC are prime contributors. We were looking at replacement for the wifes old Mazda and was thinking an Altima. There was no way in ** Id buy another Nissan now.
Auto body shop cannot complete a repair due to the dashboard not available. They (Nissan) have given me dates several times and still no part for over 6 weeks... I call them and it’s the usual smoke and mirrors...they just run their mouths and get nothing done... Car is unusable without the dash... They have basically done nothing to help get this car back on the road.
I wanted a vehicle that would be low maintenance, fuel efficient, & nice to drive. Instead had disappointment after disappointment & not to mention poor customer service. Constant problem with the push to start button & Nissan dealer asking for $1000 to repair something that should be on recall. :(
I am really disappointed with AV Nissan. I purchased a Brand New Vehicle. It was a, too good to be true offer when purchasing my car. The problem started when my passenger side door wouldnt fully close unless you slammed the door close. I took it in for service, 3 days after purchasing the vehicle. The service Rep came out and told me just slam the door. Its not a big issue. Me being me I thought small issue. What the heck, I let that slide. A year after having the car, I took it in for service because the car was giving me problems. Service inspected my car and said it was the transmission. Okay... Luckily it was still under warranty so they repaired the problem. What Im concerned is, how does a brand new vehicle, need a new transmission after a year. Anyway, my vehicle has been a headache! I mean problem after problem and here I am again with my vehicle that only has 67,000 miles needing a new transmission.I found it a little skeptical, so I took it to universal city Nissan. They couldnt find nothing wrong with my vehicle. The codes that AV Nissan claimed were due to a bad transmission were not coming up. They called AV Nissan to make sure the paper work that was given to me was correct. They said they do not want to change the transmission and charge me because if the problem is not the transmission, well there goes my money. I am very upset. I contacted Nissan Consumer Affairs. I have a case open with them. Nissan consumer affairs agent state they have been trying to reach AV Nissan service manager and there has been no answer since March 07, 2019.Kiana the Nissan consumer affairs agent called me back. She was rude, pretty much told me there was nothing they can do! Kiana did state she’s no mechanic specialist but that universal city Nissan found nothing wrong with the car so to take it back to AV Nissan. Why would I want to take it back to the place I bought the messed up car. I would suggest everyone to take your business with another dealership. Save yourselves the headache! Please read all reviews before making a decision on buying a Car through Nissan.
We WERE a Nissan family. 2012 Rouge on second transmission. First faulty transmission caught fire after Service Manager assured us the car was fine to drive. This left my 18 year old daughter on the side of a highway with a flaming car. 2015 Rouge CVT needed to be replaced. Sounded like the wheels were going to fall off. 2012 Versa transmission replaced the same week as the 2012 Rouge. Researched the Versa and it had air bags that were recalled and I was never notified. Called Corporate Nissan and spoke with two separate representatives that could have cared less that for safety or reliability. My daughters were both dismissed by service managers that told them their cars were fine. I am a single mom who has purchased 8 Nissans over the past 25 years. After speaking with Corporate Nissan three cars are going to be traded very quickly!!! BUY ELSEWHERE.
My Nissan runs good and its been good to me because its easy to drive and wastes less gas. But the headlights look weird and I think different lights might make it look better. I also think thats a small car but with so much space use. It still great and I love it so much!!!
Purchased date:06/12/2015; Model: 2015 Versa S Plus; Dealer: Imperio Nissan of Irvine, CA; Service Rep: Scott; On November 1, 2016, around 9:50 am, our car was traveling in a very slow speed on an interchange on-ramp from freeway 110 north bound to 105 west bound in Los Angeles County. The traffic was moving in a slow fashion on an uphill on-ramp. As the traffic was getting slower, I gently stepped on the brake to slow down the car. While I was holding down the brake pedal, suddenly I heard a clunk noise and felt a vibration. At this point, the car started moving on its own without a sign of slowing down. I immediately tried to step on the brake with full force but felt the brake pedal having no pressure at all. Although a safe distance was kept from the front car prior to the accident, as the brake pedal traveled down to the floor, the car continued to move closer to the front car with uncontrollable speed.At that time, the only thing I could do was to veer the car towards the right edge to avoid direct impact with the front car. Based on the owners manual, I believed the anti-lock braking system function was being erroneously activated at the time of the incident since the dry and non-slippery road condition did not warrant such activation. And what made things even worse was, for whatever the reason, the car was moving on its own with uncontrollable speed while the brake pedal pressure was completely lost due to a faulty ABS activation, which directly caused the car crash. This vehicle was purchased brand new on June 12, 2016 and a subsequent recall serviced was done on August 13, 2016 from the same dealer following a recall notice with regard to sudden acceleration safety concern. The liability insurance claim was filed for the accident. The mileage was 8740 at the time of accident. The dealer was contacted on 11/7/2016 and the service rep named Scott was refused to take the car for inspection. I called Nissan consumer affair in TN and a on-site investigation and inspection is yet to be confirmed.
I followed the protocol as per the instructions on the payoff sheet. I wrote a check and mailed it in. No one at the 800 number can help because the payoff department is not on their premise, its in another state entirely! So they refused to verify if the payoff was even received, which is causing havoc to getting the title cleaned. I cannot afford so much as a negative on my credit for them not posting by the final due date. It is not my fault, they refused to post to the account and release the title. I have 5 years of perfect payment with even more paid to them, then agreed technically. Maybe Ill contact a lawyer since not only did I pay more than was necessary, but in the end, they quoted a per diem for the last payment that increased it for payoff before the actual end date as listed on the loan agreement. The consequence I am enduring is that I have no clean title and no response from a helpful Nissan NMAC rep to resolve this. My final word to anyone considering a Nissan: The cars are reliable, the NMAC finance is not! Run to your local credit union or a local bank to get a loan, NMAC is not consumer-friendly at all!
The Nissan Dealership in Greenville, NC sold me a used vehicle as is due to minor cosmetic defects (driver side mirror has plastic damage). The vehicle was bought on a Friday and the vehicle went into limp mode on a Monday. The vehicle was then driven to the Nissan dealership with the promise of a call the very next day or by the latest, Wednesday. No call was ever received. Wednesday evening I personally called the dealership but was told they were unable to locate the vehicle and would call me back in 20 minutes. No call was ever received.The next day, I called the dealership again and the person on the phone claimed that they believed they had just sold the vehicle I had just purchased and that they would call me back in 15 minutes when they had more information. Again, no call was received. Finally, Friday, I called again and they had found the vehicle. The car was immediately picked up and taken to a different dealership.This new dealership pulled the freeze frame data and was able to locate when/how long the check engine light had been on and that it had been repeatedly reset to clear the error. Issues replaced since purchase: replaced cylinders, replaced shock. Issues detected since purchase: broken tire pressure sensor, exhaust system detached from catalytic converter, in need of a new engine due to timing belt. Will absolutely NEVER buy from Nissan again. They were pushy on the sale and lacked any decency/communication after the purchase.
I bought a Nissan Altima for them in 2014 and financed through Nissan Motor Acceptance Corp. All was great with the car until I was involved in a bad wreck injuring my wife. Talked to Nissan several time over next couple months getting total loss taking care of. Insurance paid all but 5,100.00 and some change. I was told from multiple people within customer service in total loss that as long as I made a payment, this would not be negatively reflected on an account. I made payments that were more than my required payment amount. Then the real fun began. I made a 5,127.44 payment in the form of a check and mailed in, happy it was going to be done. Waited a week, checked account and it was still not listed. Check another week later and still nothing. So I called, they said the check was damaged and could not be processed and mailed the check back. This whole time I stayed in communications with Nissan. I told them once I received the large check back, I would send another check for total payoff. I was advised by another customer service member in total loss department that as long as payments were no further than thirty days apart, I was good. Well they LIED. I was sent to collections department within Nissan and told it will be listed on my credit as a charge-off. I did just received the check damaged yes, but was damaged when opened at Nissan. They opened the envelope long was tearing the account numbers off, then sent the check to me in two pieces so I will make a full payment to be DONE with Nissan but this car was 2014 with 8,500 miles when totaled and was just waiting for this to be cleared to by a 2015, NOT ANY MORE. Nissan will never get the chance to sell finance or even talk to me about one EVER..... And as a veteran, I will post this on all my veterans pages that I am on. I do not recommend Nissan Motor Acceptance Corporation to ANYONE.
I purchased a 2008 Nissan Pathfinder in October of 2008, with about 20,000 miles from Stockton Nissan. About 3 years ago the VDC Off light came on. I took the car to Stockton Nissan to have the transmission flushed and asked them about the light (The car had less than 60,000 miles at the time). Was given an estimate of $1500 for the ABS Actuator Sensor/Pump and $600 to install for a whopping total of $2100.00. I declined because other than the Idiot lights the car runs good and the mechanical gauges all check out. Then the BRAKE light and ABS light. Then the check engine lights started coming on and off and the speedometer and odometer would go on and off with them. However, my car registration is due in December of this year so I need to smog it. I took it to a shop and they charged me $400 to replace the speed sensor on the right front tire. It smogged, but 400 dollars later I still have all of the Idiot Lights off and no speedometer or odometer. I have contacted the Nissan Consumer 800 number 3 different times. Nothing was done. This should be a RECALL since other Nissan owners are having the same issues. I guess since it is not a SAFETY ISSUE, Nissan can get away with ignoring this issue. This is my 4th Nissan AND WILL BE MY LAST NISSAN, unless this issue is addressed by Nissan. By the way, this is first review/complaint I have ever written.
I bought a Nissan about 5 months ago. They were ready and willing to help me in a car. They went out and brought the Nissan to show me. About 3 or 4 months ago the car had places on the hood and trunk of the car. I took the car to the Nissan place in Greer S.C. They looked at it said rocks from the road did this. Well dont you think I would have felt and seen when the rocks would have hit my car? As big as the places are, they would not help me! But if I was going to buy a car they would have been all over me! I took it to a man that paints cars. They said take it to Nissan where I bought it that it was in the paint! They tried to say it was rocks that did it. The man that looked at it picked at it and made it worst.I told him I wish he would stop doing that he was making it worst! Thats when he said he couldnt help me! That paint guy could have charged me to paint the car, but he was honest to tell me that! Somebody told me I could make that man pay for the damage he done to my car picking at it the way he did! I love the way the car rides now but Im afraid it might fall apart any time. Wish I had never bought the car from Nissan. Im very very unhappy with those people and the car the way it looks! I cant afford to trade the car or I would, but not with them! My husband died in Dec and its hard on me to change cars right now. They got all my money!
I purchased a 2012 Nissan Sentra from the dealership in March of 2012 based on recommendations of the sales team regarding my traveling needs. At the time of purchase it was explained to the sales team that I commute to New York about 200 miles round trip daily. The decision to purchase the Nissan Sentra was based on my commuting requirements with the strong recommendations that the Nissan Sentra would be a reliable commuter vehicle that should last a minimum of 200,000 miles. With that said the Nissan Sentra is currently in the Nissan service department waiting the installation of a second transmission. The first replacement transmission was installed around 61,000 miles and currently the vehicle is at 99,000 miles awaiting the second replacement transmission. At the time of purchase an extended warranty was purchased for the vehicle and therefore the transmissions have been covered under this warranty minus the deductible. However, there has not been any logical explanation as to why this has occurred. The only thing explained to me was that Nissan has been experiencing lots of issues with these transmissions. The fact that the Nissan Sentra is now requiring a second transmission installed and it has not even reached the original 100,000 miles for the recommended transmission service is unacceptable. The miles that are driven with the Nissan Sentra are mainly highway miles and the failure issues with the transmission should not have occurred. What is even more discouraging is the fact that this Nissan Sentra may encounter additional future transmission problems with this vehicle after the extended warranty expires at 100,000 miles. The customer service and repairs received from the Nissan service department have been to date have been unprofessional and unreliable. I brought these concerns to both the Sales Manager and President of the Local Dealership feeling that the 2012 Nissan Sentra has ongoing mechanical issues and the vehicle is unreliable at this point. The only option that was provided was to purchase another extended warranty of 36,000 additional miles at their dealer cost. It is an absolute embarrassment to Nissan that this would be the only option the Local Nissan Dealership could offer. In addition the Sales Manager for the local Nissan dealership never even provided any other option of taking the vehicle as trade to purchase a different vehicle, but rather utilize my credit history as an excuse to say there is nothing else the dealership could offer.
Leaf - false range claims. Leased this car new. Promised 100 miles or 86 miles EPA rated per charge. Since new only able to get 24 miles per charge. Nissan checked car and denied any problems. Had it to 3 mechanics and all 3 agree its not normal. Pursuing a BBB complaint and legal action.
Paid my Nissan on July 23 2020, the check cleared July 24, 2020. I was told it would take 15 days, it is now Aug 15th and no title. Called on Aug 7 and told them its been 15 days where is my title. She said that its going out today, I asked for it to be overnighted and she refused. Called on Aug 15 was told it was mailed Aug 10 not Friday Aug 7 that was previously told to me. I am selling this vehicle and need the title so my buyer can register it. Terrible service, I have paid my bill on time and I need my title now.
I first contacted NMAC on Feb 24th, 2014 about a deferral for my loan of my 2013 Nissan Sentra SR because I lost my job. My account # **. I was given a 2 month deferral on my loan that day. The original rep I spoke with said that I needed to sign a document and send it back for their records. I was asked to send the document back before March 4th or my account would be late and I would be assessed a late fee, which I had agreed to. I called back on the Feb 28th because I hadnt received the document yet and it was getting close to the deadline of the account being late and I didnt want to get a late fee. The rep I spoke to on the 28th said the document was sent on the 26th and I should receive it any day. I was also was told the whole process would take 2 days. The rep I spoke with said he was waiving the late fee because of this delay. I asked if the document could be faxed over to me to expedite the process. I was told an original signature was needed so I couldnt get it faxed. Finally on the 6th when I still hadnt received the paperwork, I asked again if the letter could be faxed. At that time I was given a fax number and was told a late fee would be assessed. When I told the rep on the 6th that my late fee was supposed to be waived, she told me the paperwork I was signing specifies I would be responsible for any late fees. I signed the paperwork and faxed it back and also mailed it on the 7th. Im writing this today because I just received the document on March 8th and the envelope was post marked March 3rd which means it wasnt sent out on the 26th like I was told and I was going to be late anyway because of the 2 days it was going to take to process and now there is a late of $22.00. I am requested the late fee be taken off the account effective immediately due to the lack of urgency on the part of NMAC. I am very disappointed with service I have received.
I purchased a 2009 Nissan Rogue, new. I have owned this car for 10 years, and have paid through the nose for control arms and wheel bearings. August 4th 2015 my transmission overheated on the 400, kicked into safe mode from Cruise control and almost got us run over by a transport. It was repaired with an accessory oil cooler by Nissan two weeks later. Same thing happened 2 days ago on a trip back from Lemington. I have under the 200,000 km, but am 1 month over my warranty. So, I have been in talks with Nissans customer care department. My warranty was up July 30th. The band aid fix for my transmission on August 5th 2016 has failed 1 month after the warranty was up...imagine that. It was a pretty car. Its pretty worthless now. Seriously think over your purchases....I now have no trade value.
Keep calling the Consumer Affair for 2 weeks, each time they said a specialist will call you. Again they said they called but I was not available. Left a voicemail. If someone calls it will show on my phone. One more time they put me on hold and connected me to the specialist but this time it asked me to leave a phone number, and case number etc. What I am dealing with?
I acquired my 2015 Rouge SL (premium package) this Spring. It has now has 3,000 miles on it and it has been in the Nissan shop for a new computer system and a new transmission thus far. It was in the dealership shop from May 27th -June 18th. I was told my new transmission was on back order until mid July. When I requested that they then needed to take back my new car and exchange it for a new one because they have had it for over 30 days, Nissan mysteriously bumped up my car in line and it was completed on the 18th of June making it only 22 days. I requested that they replace my car as it is obviously compromised and defective. It is not running at 3,000 miles. How am I to expect it to run at 70,000 miles? They said no. I then requested a 150,000 mile bumper to bumper extended warranty to ensure it would continue to run. They again said no but offered a 100,000 mile warranty that only covered the transmission, not the defective computer system, etc.. Again I say how can I count on my car to run at 70,000 or even 50,000 miles when it doesnt run at 3,000? There are multiple things wrong with this car, including the extremely expensive computer system that they are not addressing. The Nissan Corp has been extremely difficult to work with and they refuse to take back their defective product or stand behind the product.
My lease was over and I turned in the vehicle, but Nissan and the dealers could not get together or work or cooperate on anything. Do I need an inspection? No, said Nissan because the dealership offered to buy the used car. According to the dealers, I do and they do it. Cool. They can inspect the vehicle when I turn it in. But then they dont, after all. NMAC and the dealership really jerk you around.During the lease, NMAC could not take my Visa for online payment, so I always had to send the check. After passing the inspection and escaping any costs, I was told Just turn in the vehicle, you have paid everything you owe. Three weeks later I was charged by NMAC almost $500 for a disposition fee! I have been a Nissan customer since 2001. I am pissed. I was considering leasing another Nissan in a few months. Screw that. Today, I do not want another Nissan vehicle ever. Merry Christmas, sucker, you owe us $500. What a way to screw your customers.
2013 370z - The airbag sensor is always disabled when my wife sits in the passenger seat. She weighs 120lbs. We also have a 2012 Rogue and the airbag sensor works properly. We also checked a 2013 Infiniti and the airbag sensor works properly. Nissan says it is working properly. Nissan now ignores me.
After reading all the poor reviews on NMAC, it made me so afraid that I was thinking about trading in the Nissan I bought yesterday for a Honda or Toyota! The complaints seemed to say NMAC is eager to ruin Nissan customers credit, wants Nissan customers to pay for NMACs general incompetency, refuses to correct their own mistakes, and employs illegal or dishonest business methods. Thank you all for posting. We, who finance through NMAC, will need to be extra careful and not to expect decent business dealing from NMAC. We should document everything in case some guy from an attorney group actually experienced NMAC ways and wanted to start something against the big guy for their arbitrary and wrongdoing against customers.My experience at the dealership finance dept for NMAC did not go well because the guy did not explain the finance at all. When asked, he just said it is zero percent at 36 months; pointing at the monthly payment and read the inserted terms off a printed contract. He hurried out a lot of paperwork and wanted me to sign off on each of them. The consumer protection law should have required the finance person to explain in detail on what finance rate and duration of the loan, and if the rate will be changed. The consumer will then sign off acknowledgement by writing in essence the interest rate, length of loan, fixed or variable rates, terms on possible penalties, and anything that may increase the cost of the loan. That is more real of a protection than to have consumer sign acknowledgement papers that basically is to protect the finance company.Lets hope Nissan will change and correct NMACs ways to reflect Nissan as a company it wanted to build up to. Lets hope that NMAC is not out to get Nissan buyers who finance through them. If NMAC is that bad as reviewed and people are paying more than they agreed to, why is NMAC and Nissan still allowed to continue their obviously wrong practice without consumers joining forces to protest?
I bought a 2005 Armada Nissan new. Among many other problems the latest was a crack in both exhaust manifolds that the dealership told me it would be about $3000 to fix. I got it done at my mechanic and saved. I got a hold of Nissan and told them that the manifolds were defective according to my mechanic and they knew it because the new ones were beefed up right where the old ones cracked. Nissan called me back and kept saying over and over again that my warranty ran out. I told them that wasnt issue, it was defective, they said they wouldnt do anything. This is the last one I buy.
The airbag light is blinking. I spent $80 for them to tell me that its a bad harness kit b1182 and that it will cost over $300.00 to fix. I have read that this is a known issue, but a recall is not being created.
I have purchased 3 new Nissans and financed exclusively through NMAC (Nissan Motor Acceptance Corporation). On one occasion, NMAC indicated that I was 30 days late on a payment. I had never been late on any of my other NMAC loans and explained that my check was mailed on-time like all the other payments. The credit department made it clear that there was no forgiveness for being late and never once gave me any benefit of the doubt. My opinion is it doesnt matter if you have never been late and its all about the money to them. If they give you bad marks on your credit (which last for 7 years), then the next time you finance via NMAC, they can charge you higher interest rates. Its a scam, so please be extra careful. Check and double-check any payment you make. Dont assume that NMAC is on your side. Hell, Nationwide is not even on your side, but Ill post that bad experience in another article. So it has been 6 years and 6 months, and the bad credit mark from NMAC should be dropped off at 7 years. I am in the market to buy a new car again, so I called their customer no-service department to see if they would give me a courtesy pass and remove the bad mark that they reported on my credit report. They created a case number, asked me to call back in 48 hours, and turned me down again. I will never buy another Nissan again. Note to the world, you can dispute an item on each of your credit reports (Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion); and if NMAC doesnt respond within 30 days, by law, the item must be removed. The only way to teach Nissan and NMAC a lesson is to buy with one of their competitors. Also, if you happen to know someone or have the ability to get a message to Nissan headquarters in Japan, tell them that NMAC doesnt represent the company well. Tell them NMAC doesnt take into consideration your payment history before hurting their loyal customer base. That loyal customer base is certainly thinning out.
I leased a 2014 Nissan Maxima in June 2014. The automobile has only 18,000 miles on it. In the last 40 days, it has been in the shop 4 times. First time, the servicing dealer said it was an O2 sensor. Second time, I was told it was the REAR-END O2 sensor. Third time, they kept the car 5 days and couldnt find the problem, so they replaced the wiring harness. Fourth time, the gauge cluster (display) went completely black, and when I took it in to get it fixed, rotate tires and change my oil, they found a front axle leaking oil. I talked to my servicing dealer about trading out of the lease, and they told me the value of the vehicle had dropped in HALF in ONE year, leaving me with no option to trade out. I then contacted Nissan Consumer Affairs to discuss being released from my lease. They drug the process out over a month, hoping I would go away. I continued to pursue them via daily telephone calls. They sporadically returned my calls, using my cell phone, rather than my preferred number at work, thus avoiding direct contact with me. They had indicated they were reviewing my complaint and would have a response by Monday. They notified me today they are only willing to provide me a two-year maintenance plan, but nothing further. THIS CAR IS A LEMON. I recommend NO ONE purchase a new Nissan with this buy the car, but forget servicing the customer after the sale attitude. I have always been a fan of Nissan - purchased many vehicles in the past, and strongly recommended their product to many of my friends. I am sorry to say I have lost all confidence and URGE anyone to live under the BUYER BEWARE philosophy.
I picked up my car on Nov 22 on Dec 1 display not functioning. Brought to dealer on Dec 3 said need new screen. On Dec 5 called saying adjusted is what is needed. Dec 8 bring in to let them do adjustment. Dec 9 display/screen does not work again. Dec 13 called to follow up, do not know when the dealer will fix this problem. Big headache, maybe I got a lemon.
I have a 2012 Rogue which I got brand new from a Nissan dealership in Virginia. I now live in California. Have 80K miles on it. 4 years and 2 months later, one minor part, and TWO major parts had to be replaced: the Mass Air Flow Sensor, the Torque converter, and the air-conditioning compressor, the last two breaking down at the same time. NISSAN wouldnt refund the repairs because they say the job was not done by their certified NISSAN dealer mechanic, who, by the way, couldnt figure out the first time that all they needed replaced was the Mass Air Flow Sensor, and some other part, which their expert they flew in to California from somewhere had to figure out for them. Its out of the Lemon Law period, by the way. I will not recommend ANY Nissan to my worst enemy.
I purchased a 2010 Nissan Rogue used with 31,000 Miles on it. I have owned it for 18 months. Last week the sending unit tore up and caused my engine to blow up. The car has 61,000 miles on it now. I called Nissan to get the history on this car and they told me that in Jan 3013 that a report was made to them that there was sludge found when oil was changed. They wont send me this report and the extended warranty I bought is also refusing to pay. Please never buy a Nissan! They dont stand behind their products. Any advise?
I submitted an earlier complaint and the complaint was closed after three messages left when my phone number provided was not working (because my home phone works off the internet). My internet was down for a couple of days and towers were not working properly in my area to allow signal to my home. After this was explained, left on numerous and countless messages, emails and voicemails with Mrs. ** with Nissan Consumer Affairs who was handling the case at the time. I received absolutely no response from Mrs. ** and her reply was she no longer handles Nissan consumer vehicle complaints. I spoke with them very respectfully and explained; I will be resubmitting a complaint due to lack of multiple communication issues in not receiving a call back or response from said date 5/7/2015 up to 5/18/2015 regarding the various issues and in the handling of previous Case # **, and how quickly it was closed. The vehicle safety concerns and issues are my number one priority and should be Nissans as well. Mrs. ** responded that will be fine and maybe we can handle it appropriately, readdress issues and concerns, with proper documentation. The 2012 Nissan Versa I purchased I noticed has very serious safety issues that began the day I purchased this vehicle at Carmax, White Marsh, MD lot. After pleading with Carmax to take this vehicle back for a year and 1/2 they would not allow me to give the vehicle back to them the day I purchased it. The problems with the vehicle upon purchase of the vehicle were brakes did not work properly at all. Carmax attempted to fix brakes 3-4 times, pedal would not work and often get stuck, defrost does work and takes a very long time and during rainy conditions it doesnt work at all forcing me to roll down windows to clear them, noise coming from around side view mirrors, freezing of both side view rear mirrors during winter and freezes during driving in cold conditions, vehicle is unable to sustain any type of wind or rain conditions and Ive literally shifted into another lane numerous times while driving on the highway, over a bridge, and even on the street, if a truck or someone passes me at high speed 65-75 I easily shift out of lane-position.Paint job was very poor-scratched terribly, body is very weak and fragile, no matter what hits my vehicle a pebble cracked the glass, a slight hit will hugely dent the vehicle and has, rear window in the passenger rear side will not go up and down properly at all. I have submitted endless complaints regarding my vehicle and I am very dissatisfied with this make and model; believe I may own a defective model because there are too many issues with my vehicle. I dont know what happen with this vehicle but the safety issues I experience regularly really concern me and the family I have ride with me. Please let me know what you can do to address these serious concerns. After two years of battling with Carmax Corporate Office for a year 1/2 to take this vehicle back; I am now contacting the manufacturers of this vehicle. The vehicle I purchased is not safe and has not been since the day I purchased it. I have been in 3 different accidents. The first week after complaints were made and I purchased it I was unable to properly brake and ran into the back of the vehicle a week into owning it after reporting the brakes were not properly working. I pulled into a parked car and could not maneuver appropriately into a parking lot and hit a parked car as the pedal locked on me and brake would not work properly. There are multiple dings, hits, scratches, dents because vehicle was not properly painted. A two year vehicle looks like I owned it 20 years. My concerns and safety issues are not being taken seriously and believe if Carmax would have notified you of this something would have been done a lot sooner to address these issues instead of being taken advantage of during purchase of this vehicle. My younger children nor my husband wish to get into my vehicle because the serious safety concerns they have and also experienced with me while riding with me in 2012 Nissan Versa. I think Nissan makes excellent cars. Just this one has multiple defects. Please contact me with ideas or a solution you may have to fully address these issues. I like the computer system that lets you know when it is service time. I also like the alert system, the stereo system, back up camera, systems for telephones, the windshield service, the mobility of the seats, steering volume to be adjusted when needed, the way the seat adjust to help with visibility, the built in coasters for handling drinks, and all the compartments that hold important papers. I also like the way my plan is set up, the mileage that I get, the attitudes for the workers that is provided when servicing the car and the service that they supply. However, I dislike the way the system is set up for more payment when something breaks on the car, having to put more warranty on the car and the warranty that comes with the brand new cars, and the price of the tires. But still, I love the car.
I purchased brand new Versa Note in August 2014, from the beginning the car was acting strangely - turning signal didnt work properly, the car was wavering on the road, made all weird cracking sounds and after every long ride, burning smell was coming out from left and rights tires. I brought it to Nissan services, but they couldnt determine the problem. I dont know anything about the cars, but can tell that eventually part of the axle was changed. Two weeks later I was driving back to Nissan with emergency lights on. Car was shaking so badly that I couldnt keep it in one lane. Once they took it on a test drive the wheel fell off!!! And they had to evacuate my car!! No one knows what was the problem, but they decided to replace the whole axle. Thanks God I didnt take a freeway that morning when I was bringing my car to a dealership! I am not satisfied!! I am pissed!! I am upset!! I purchased a new car, because I believed it would give me a sense of safety and security. But actually I got a lemon instead!! Mine and my kids life was put in danger! The car has a bit more than 5.000 miles on it, I am so caring with it, but it is bad. I am afraid to drive it now, even when it is being fixed, one week ago the wheel came off (which I doubt happens on a regular bases), how can I know that one week from now the roof will not be blown away or the car will not explode, or something else!!And another thing - when I cancelled some of my Christmas plans and was ready to go to pick up my car, Nissan representative called me and left a voice mail, saying: Oh, the car is not ready yet, I forgot to tell you that while we were fixing the axle we scratched the bumper... It sounded like they forgot to fill up the tank! I dont know if they are the one who responsible for the wheel falling off (because 2 weeks before it happened they were replacing the bolt) or Nissan just makes lemons, but I want this crap to be resolved! I have never heard or been in such a ridiculous and at the same time stupid and banal situation! I am going to talk to a lawyer. I want you to replace my car, return my money or other options. But I dont want to have any business with your company anymore. It is a big name, but a thin quality level.
After nine hours at dealership, we got a new car home with no oil and no second key! It was 4 trips again back to dealership to finally get car proper and the key. Then, the finance dept has given me hassle 4 months in a row - promising change in due date every month, then not! I was told by the Finance dept. to call Nissan headquarters to file a complaint so we could trade in the car for another Nissan at a different dealer. It took 3 weeks for them to respond to me! We had to call daily and leave messages to finally get someone to tell us, too bad, sorry cant help you!
Extremely poor customer service from Nissan UK after reporting numerous faults on my new car (Nissan Note). The local dealer has done their best with no support from the manufacturer. The car has the following problems - front wings have been changed after painting. Windscreen trims loose and fell off. Drive belt replaced due to slipping. Front window trims NS/OS not fitting. Front NS seat base cover keeps coming off. Water leaks into rear OS footwell caused by two seam welds being missed in manufacturing a damaged air vent and dented body panel. Air conditioning pump leaking and no gas but very noisy. I would definitely recommend staying clear of a new Nissan of any type.
I have a 2007 Nissan Altima 2.5s whose safety/emissions failed because of a faulty catalytic converter. W/o knowing that all vehicles in US have a warranty on catalytic converter for 8 years or 80,000 miles (whichever comes first), I got it replaced at a local shop after ordering the part myself from Auto Zone. Part + labor cost close to $500. I came across some info about the warranty coverage on the internet and argued with my local shop how they kept me in the dark about the warranty especially when its the same terms for every make and model. So anyway, I called Nissans consumer affairs up and notified them of what happened and that I was rerouted to them by our local Nissan dealer. After a billion phone calls, I could finally get to someone who was willing to help and asked me to fax all the documents - bills, labor charges, safety/emission inspection reports etc. I did and they never replied. After another million calls to them, they returned with one call and said they cant do any reimbursement since it was done at a local shop and not a Nissan dealer. I told them beforehand the whole situation even before I faxed the documents. They couldve just saved me time and money by telling the same upfront. On the last call (Glenda, who handled my case) just kept yapping away, that theyre sorry they cant make any reimbursement. It was just a waste of time with these people. Ive always been a loyal customer of Honda and Toyota and swayed a bit 4 years ago by purchasing this piece of junk. Never a Nissan again - not just because of their crappy products which most of them have shuddering issues, but their awful customer service! If only they went out of business before Carlos Ghosn took over...
I know these complaints are mostly about Nissan Muranos. I presently own a 08 Nissan Rogue in which my transmission went out on me while on road trip from North Carolina. I purchased it from Nissan dealership in 2011 with approximately 50k. I presently have 121k miles. When I found it was the transmission I did some research because as long I have been driving I know transmission dont go out on cars at 121k. I called Nissan consumer care and found out that an extended warranty is on Rogue transmissions. Being that I had 121k I ask about the mileage on warranty at 120k. I was told mileage didnt matter and take to Nissan dealership. The dealership diagnosed as needing a new transmission. I found a letter on Nissan website stating that the warranty on CVT transmission had been extended to 120k /10 yrs from 60k 5 yrs. The letter also states that even past warranty mileage that decrease in repair cost would occur by Nissan. After speaking with Nissan Ive been told that no previous problem with transmission and being out of warranty they couldnt assist me with my transmission. Doing further research there are many people having/had issues with the CVT transmissions in Rogue/Muranos. I spoke with a few mechanics who said that transmissions dont fail @121k and Nissan had issues with CVT transmission. Right now I feel Im caught in rock and hard place. I have to spend $3500-$4000 for a major repair for a car that Im still paying for. I have purchased 3 prior Nissans and always thought highly for their cars. I believe that Nissan is trying to deflect responsibility for having a defective part. I just want Nissan to own up and replace it in good faith. I like the car, but after this Ill seriously consider and likely purchasing other brands and models of auto other than Nissans
2009 Murano purchased new at 109k check engine light came on (code 011). Dealer says that the seal/gasket for the timing chain needs to be replaced. Parts $25, labor $2400. Nissan Consumer Affairs covers 80% dealer covered 10% and I was responsible for the rest. Still not happy that my engine has to come out and there are no guarantees after the vehicle will be in the shop 2 full days, SCARY! Nissan seemed helpful.
I have a vehicle that is out of warranty. My dashboard (not the vinyl) is cracking into several pieces. I brought it to the dealer who, after examining my vehicle, suggested I express my problem to the customer service division. My claim was denied, although this is clearly due to no fault of my own but rather by someone who did not observe the problem. This is a clear statement by Nissan that they do not stand by their product even if that product - that I worked extremely hard to pay for and kept up to diligently - is defective.
I just bought a 2008 Nissan Rogue. Before making the first payment... My daughter was in almost a Fatality! I am very upset... as the steering Wheel locked up and put her head on into a tree. Although her broken bones...serious soft tissue injuries and everything else will someday heal... the emotional stress we have all been under since this accident..will never go away. I watch her cry everyday. I will never buy a Nissan again... but they are responsible... and should be held accountable. Car was totaled and if my daughter didnt have her seatbelt on she would be dead. The damage from the seatbelt is bad along with her fractures..but she is alive. Im very upset as she is and her mother. Not a scratch, bought less than 2 months ago.
I was three months away from returning my Nissan lease and wanted to go into another lease without any interruption. The Hyundai Sonata caught my eye and decided to go to my local dealer. There I spoke with Kevin ** and informed him that I was interested in a Sonata and that I also had three months left on my Nissan lease. After going back and forth with the numbers and his manager and agreeing that the dealership would pick up my last three months, we shook hands and the deal was complete. I gave Kevin my account number with Nissan so he could call and take care of the particulars. I left my deposit and was told to come back the following week to pick up my new lease.After two months, I received notification from Nissan that the monthly note was not paid. I called to speak with the finance person who pawned me off to Kenton **. After telling Kenton what happened, he informed me that it wasnt in my file. I told him that Kevin ** wrote it in his notes and he should talk to him. After chasing Kenton numerous times as he would never return my phone calls, I finally spoke to him and he told me that the check went out on May 12 and Nissan would get it by that Monday. I called Nissan three days after and they never received such payment. Two days later, I get a phone call from a collection agency stating that Im in collection for three months past due payments ($1,050). Kenton flat out lied to me and he nor his manager had no intentions on honoring what salesman Kevin ** promised. My husband actually went to speak to Kenton and he said that the best he could do was pay for half and I agreed to that. He didnt even honor that. He kept saying his manager was out and he hasnt gotten a chance to finalize; it was a lie.I sent a certified registered letter to the owner of the dealership Jim ** on July 16th asking him to follow up and get in touch with me. It is now Aug. 18th and I never received the receipt from the post office with his signature. This lets me know that he, along with his employees, practice unethical ways. As the owner of this dealership, he should have at least called me but he never did. I have been a loyal Nissan customer for over 12 years and decided to venture out and try something different. Premium Nissan of New Rochelle staff honor what they say they would do and I never had any problems whatsoever. Why did I give my business to a dealership that couldnt care less about customer satisfaction as long as they get the sale?
Have not had to use it on this Nissan yet, but have used it on an older Nissan and it cover an expense of $1000. We took the warranty on this vehicle because we believe it will come in handy. We have 7 years or 120k miles.
I purchased a brand new Nissan rogue. It gets ten miles to the gallon. Horrible mileage. I called Nissan and they made me drive all over the place to dealers to get it checked. The mileage is still terrible. Nissan is telling me the advertised mileage of 23-30 mpg is an estimate only so if Im getting ten mpg, they are not responsible and they will not help me in any way. I feel lied to, this is my last Nissan. I contacted the attorney general, so far no response.
I leased a car in July of 2006. I received a property tax bill to pay in January. I got a signed and notarized affidavit stating that this vehicle was used for personal use only and that I did not live in the county where the property tax was being applied. In addition, the county where I purchased the vehicle and also reside does not charge property taxes. The first year was fine. I received another bill the second year and I submitted the same paperwork. NMAC claimed they never received it and that I owed them for taxes. I did not pay for it. The following year, I received another bill. When I submitted the forms again, I was told they could not accept them because I had not paid the previous years taxes. I just recently tried to refinance my home and my credit report is damaged because of this. I have tried calling to clear this mess up and was told rudely that this will not go away until it is paid. I submitted everything the company told me to do exactly and yet, this is still on my credit report. They have been extremely rude and have even hung up on me. I will never lease a vehicle again and I will never deal with Nissan again.
I have been calling for over 2 months in regards to a negative credit reporting from Nissan. Nissan received an insurance check late and gave me negative credit reporting. After calling Nissan, they said they will put in a dispute. Now Im sitting here 2 months later with no update as far as how the situation planned out. All I keep getting are customer service reps who sound like they have no idea what they are doing and just give you an attitude. I have purchased numerous cars myself from Nissan as well as my family. I will no longer ever consider Nissan due to this issue. I recommend people look elsewhere for their vehicles because if there is an issue, Nissan will never take care of you. If I could give a negative star thats what it would be.
I like it. Very roomy, large trunk area, sits high up off the road, good gas mileage, fashionable interior, lots of leg room, lots of cup holders and places to charge cell phones. I also like the in-car garage opener, Bluetooth, hands-free phone, back up camera, navigation, keyless start, heated seats, front camera, and air in the back seat. However, I would change the rear door feature to include a foot response, alarm when seatbelt is not fastened, wide area for camera to cover, and a smaller window visor for my Hum to be attached to.
I was really concerned after reading reviews online. I mailed my payoff and it did not show up online for the first week. I called customer service. The rep was very nice and very reassuring telling me it usually takes 2 weeks to process and that the title can take approximately 45 days. True to her word, the payment was posted during the second week. The pleasant surprise was that I received the title the following week.
My 2009 Nissan Altima just died on me one evening. I was stranded so I had it towed across the street to a Shell station. I did tried calling the closest Nissan dealership which was several miles away but they were closed. I have been paying for an extended warranty mind you thousand of dollars and they told me even if the part was covered they wouldnt reimburse me because I took it to a garage other than Nissan. This is absolute bull. Theyd rather I do that vs go right across the street late at night stranded. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER NISSAN AGAIN. I WILL DO EVERYTHING IN MY POWER TO STEER EVERYONE I KNOW TO NOT BUY A NISSAN!
Its a great car. Its easy to drive, its a great color and it was in my price range. It has very nice comfortable seats that heat up and its super comfortable to drive and ride in it. Its smooth and I love it. However, sometimes the tires feel really odd and really off and it simply makes me a little nervous to drive it or really be in it in general. Nevertheless, I genuinely like Nissan and I enjoy the vehicle.
My husband has a 2014 Nissan Sentra, hes made all payments on time. Recently he started getting calls about him not paying. Hes even showed his proof of each payment. All they said was yeah it shows you paid, but we didnt get any payment and told him to pay more. Obviously someone there is pocketing the money or some crap cause hes been paying. Last week they had his car repossessed for no payment... But he has been paying. Hes even told them that he wont ever get another Nissan and asked them if they scam all soldiers like this? they hung up on him. He has yet to get his car back and they still wont admit that theres something wrong in the whole payment thing. They said he hasnt paid in 4 months. I have a 2015 Sentra and Im thinking of selling mine so I dont go through this crap too. NMAC are nothing but scammers.
Nissan Rouge - Steering wheel vibration that started 7 months after purchase. The steering wheel vibration has gone from mild to moderate/heavy in the last month. Changing to sport mode or turning off the overdrive helps a lot, and even sometimes stops the vibration for a while even after returning to the default driving mode. The vibration can be felt most of the time while accelerating but is worse at and above 35 mph while maintaining a steady speed. However I have noted the vibration to be moderate/heavy at all speeds. At times when driving a distance, the vibration will actually make your hands go numb and can also be felt in the gas pedal. My other concern is on two separate occasions while accelerating to enter the interstate while in sport mode, the vehicle hung in a lower gear until the RPM was extremely high and when I let off the gas it was almost like putting the brakes on as the vehicle slowed to the speed of the gear its stuck in, creating a very dangerous situation in traffic. Nissan refuses to acknowledge the problem and service people say They all do that.
I purchased a 2017 Nissan Rogue on February 19. On February 28th, while stopped in traffic, I was rear-ended by a distracted driver who was also speeding. The crash threw me into the car in front of me, who was stopped as well. Over $10,000 in damage. My vehicle has been held up since March 3rd due to two parts on National back order at Nissan. As of today, there is no release date and none is even expected until the end of April (was previously told April 4th). Calls to Nissan have yielded no results, Ive only been told that they cannot give me a release date. In the meantime, I will have made 2 car payments (or more) on a brand new car that I cannot drive. I actually should have known. It took almost a year to the get the parts for the recall on my 2014 Nissan Sentra when the recall was happening. It is very frustrating and the lack of assistance upon calling Nissan directly is frustrating.
I attempted to make two payments to NMAC through my banks bill pay service. The first time, I entered the account number from my statement by hand. The second time, I entered my account number through copy and paste from my statement on NMAC’s website. Both payments were returned for invalid account number. I contacted NMAC’s customer service to inquire and they could not explain why the ACH payments from my bank were returned. I then mailed a check to NMAC for my payment. I prefer to pay my payments in an electronic fashion so I dont have to worry about my check being lost in the mail or a delay with the postal system. I then signed up for recurring payments on NMAC; their only option is to pay once monthly. I prefer to pay specific amounts each check to reduce my interest costs to myself. I guess with Nissan, its their way or the highway. In addition, when I purchased my vehicle from Sheehy of Manassas, I was told my GAP insurance was free. When I reviewed my sales contract, the GAP insurance is included in the contract and the balance reflects my loan with NMAC. How is the GAP free if Im paying for it? The first contract on the vehicle was at 4.99% interest. I was called back and told I dont qualify for that rate. So if I purchase the Sheehy VIP care maintenance service and lockout service, then I can receive 2.09% but lose one of my rebates, which made my payments go up $3 per month. What kind of math classes did Nissan take in college?
Ive been dealing with the same issue for over a year and a half. Every time I call to see if they have fixed the problem (after they have told me it will be fixed), they havent. I dont understand how a business can run without doing their job. Ive called at least 15 times and have been told every time it will be fixed. Ive even asked for a call back every time; not once have I gotten one back. After a year and a half, NMAC has impacted my credit score. I planned to purchase a home in September 2013 but will not be able to. My quality of life has been diminished severely due to this issue. I have lost sleep thinking about what NMAC has done to my credit and how I will have to pay for NMACs fault for years to come. I can honestly say I have never thought a car purchase would negatively impact my life like this. I can only imagine how many customers Nissan is losing due to NMAC.
I am a 2008 Nissan Titan owner, who is seeking other Nissan owners in the WNC area, whom all of a sudden, after a rain, have their paint delaminating causing a white plaque spreading all over. I took my Titan to 3 different body shops I trust, and they each stated the clear coat was delaminating. It was clearly a manufacturer defect. I contacted not one, but two, local Nissan dealerships and have had their GM, service manager, and Nissan specialists (you name it) look at it and take pictures. I have bent over backwards doing everything that Nissan Corporation has asked while I lose multiple hours at work, including having it looked at by their preferred body shop who even said it is a manufacture defect. Now, after putting over 400 miles on a vehicle I baby and do not drive but for pleasure, they are trying to tell me that since it is out of warranty (though the miles are very low, as again I do not drive it on a normal basis) they dont have to do anything towards my Titan. There are numerous claims by others of the exact same issue happening with them (including a lady at the same dealership the same day as I, complaining about the same thing with her Nissan). Although Nissan Corporation states that they have never heard of this problem before (a simple search shows customers back to 2004 with the same problems), I truly believe a class action lawsuit should be started. Please post your experience and if you live near my area.
Done in a timely manner. Kept me apprised as the repairs went along. Checked to see if anymore could be done for me. If any issues came to let me know and get my opinion. Check out was easy and car was washed and the inside always had paper on seats and floor so it did not get dirty from the work they did. They smiled and I went on my way.
My case was open in November 2019. My vehicle under warranty needs repair. More than 3 months has passed. Repair has not been authorized. I purchased a NV3500 in 2017. It has 5 year warranty. I found very serious rust problem on the roof and took the van to local dealer for diagnostic examination. The case was open in November 2019. The local dealer sent the report to General Nissan Consumer Affair on Dec 30, 2020, waiting for instruction to do the repair. However since then, we have been waiting and waiting.Every time I try to call the specialist in General Nissan Consumer Affairs who is in charge of my case, he wont pick up my phone call. When he calls back, he left message without information I missed your call, please call me back, my phone number is **. The worst thing is, there are three times I happened to pick up his call, but he hung up right after I picked up the call. I requested to communicate with email, but I only received the initial email when the case was open in November 2019. Basically he avoids talking to me and purposely delay the response to my case. I dropped my van in local dealer which is 60 miles away from my home in November 2019 waiting for the repair. In the meantime I requested a rental car to use, but the local dealer doesnt have one. I have other vehicles like Toyota and have never had problem to contact the consumer service or the dealer. I have never thought that Nissan has so bad consumer service and hope Nissan can solve this complaint after my case has been filed for almost 3 three months, still waiting, no car to use.
Bought a new truck in June of 2020. Within the first few months it had 2 radiator leaks, showed signs of a/c leaking and possible injector leak at the 1 and 3 cylinders due to dirt build up around them. After passing by police radar on the side of the road at 40 mph on speedometer it showed 37, 36, so 4 mph off. When I took it in to the dealership with the radiator leaking fixed one leak completely a loose screw on the radiator switched radiator cap from radiator to overflow slowed the leak ordered new radiator cap. While their computer was reset to attempt to fix speedometer. After reset at low speed 40 mph radar showed 39 mph. After getting past left and right at highway speeds used GPS speedometer which showed me only doing 72 sometimes 73.To reach 75 mph on GPS speedometer must get to 78 or 79mph on my dash. This greatly increases the mileage on the vehicle and runs the warranty out sooner also greatly reduces resale value of the vehicle. The first time I towed a trailer weighing 2200 pounds and a 24 hp compact tractor weighing less than 2200lbs the receiver hitch cracked and Nissan has done nothing to replace it! The last two things that was in the initial list of issues the battery terminals were never coated with corrosion inhibitor and the bed wasnt mounted properly leaving roughly a 1 inch gap of alignment from the side of the bed from the cab. So if you are looking down the truck from the tailgate instead of the bed blending into the can you see it bend inwards from the outside of the bed towards the drivers side of the truck. Well I had also complained about squeaking noises from the front end and was blown off.I have been trying to get the truck repaired for over a year now to no avail. In May 2021 went to check fluids under then noticed that the headlight was cracked roughly 1 to 2 inches from mounting bolt under the hood, went to other side it was cracked as well. Shut hood got to looking center of hood aligns perfectly with grill but both the driver and passenger sides are off. Gaps between hood and fenders arent even. Its about the opposite of the gaps in the tailgate due to it being misaligned.This vehicle was never wrecked unless something happened to it before my purchase at 48 miles. Nissan doesnt want anything to do with me or the repairs that are warranty repairs. If you are thinking about buying a new Nissan save yourself the headache. Buy something better. Service after the sale is horrible. Nissan consumer affairs has promised to fix these issues since my first call. It now has been in the shop for over a month in total this visit 3 weeks and going and as of 4 days ago hadnt even been looked at. Beware of what you buy.
I have 2007 Altima and at 75k miles the transmission went out. Nissan gave a courtesy warranty extensions for Nissan Altima due to the fact they knew their CVT transmission were crap. I took my car to Torre Nissan in La Quinta Ca where they replaced the transmission because of the warranty. 56k miles later the transmission went out again. This time I called consumer affairs Nissan and dealt with an extremely rude Bernice. Basically when I called them out on faulty products she turned it on me. That I should have gotten my oil changes with Nissan to prevent this. Well, I got my oil changes done at a licensed mechanic shop and oil changes have nothing to do with my transmission. Ok so I took my car to a different dealership. I explained to them this will be the 3rd transmission. The guy told me they will inspect the car and look into finding out why the transmission keeps going out. I received a call 3 hours later letting me know it was indeed the transmission (ouch $3300) but they were able to locate the recurring problem. The transmission was overheating as the cooling system wasnt suffice, basically faulty design. This was something they have been seeing for sometime now. They suggested adding an additional cooling component as they have seen nothing but success by doing this. No more overheating from what they have experienced. Ok so an additional $387 to extend the life of this transmission. So naturally I contact Nissan consumer affairs to report the new findings as had the lasts dealership looked into it. We could have fixed it then to prevent this costly repair. Well once again I got a big screw you from Nissan and the same repeated answer, Unfortunately Nissan will not be able to provide financial assistance on out of warranty repairs. No matter what I said Erick repeated that same statement. So I am screwed because one of their dealerships didnt do their job and look into what caused the transmission failure because it was under warranty. So as a consumer I get screwed. But at first their excuse was I didnt get services at Nissan and now once I provide them with the information that I got the transmission through their dealership it is cause I am 16k over the extended warranty. All I was asking for was a little help. Screw Nissan and I will NEVER buy Nissan again.
Im starting to wonder if theyre even located in America. All of the agents who answer the phone are foreign and act like zombies. Theyve been giving me the runaround and double talk for weeks, just to issue me a simple compliance letter. They dont even know their own rules or whats on their own website. They try to get you off the phone by referring you to DOT. Frustrating! My problem is still not resolved. Im going to file a formal complaint.
I purchased my 2017 Nissan Murano on 2/27/17 from Frank Fletcher Nissan, Joplin MO. Prior to 5/8/18 (I do not have this date or who I spoke with at Fletchers) but I stated to them when my husband drove the car and placed his arm leaning on the center console the drivers seat would rub against the console causing this annoying squeaking that was continuous until he changed positions. I was asked if my husband was a bigger man and I said yes 63 230 lbs but what does that have to do with it? He stated they have had several complaints about this and all the men were larger. I said that is no reason for the seat to squeak! We had other vehicles & not ever had this issue. So on 5/8/18 I took my car in and the service dept said they could and I agreed to let them install washers to tilt seat slightly and prevent rubbing.This seemed to work briefly but then it started again. Nothing like before but still it should not be happening. So I went back again to report it. This is my 1st brand new car and this should not be the way it is & I have never had a car that had this issue and I am sure I could have bought any other car & not had this issue. So I said if you cant fix it who should I speak with that might be able to assist me and at that time he gave me the 1-800-nissan-1 #. On 6/6/18 I contacted the 800 Nissan consumer affairs and the person I spoke with said they will send case to regional consumer affairs specialist to get in contact with dealer and investigate giving me a case # ** from agent #**. on 6/8/18 I spoke with regional affairs rep and he had authorized technical resource to talk with Fletchers and that my car was under warranty so call and make an appointment to take my car in. 6/8/18 I called Fletcher for an appt. They said they will need my car 1/2 day but he will get ahold of Regional consumer affairs and find out how to get set up with tech. 6/11/18 Fletchers called. Will get tech line assistance with them to get help on resolving problem. Appt set for Wed, 6/20/18, 10 a.m. 6/20/18 took car to Fletcher Nissan Joplin, MO. Service manager said will contact tech line and see what they can do. He came back to get me in just a short amount of time and said I could take car and he would call me to bring it back in once tech line calls them back to let him know how to resolve. On 6/29/18 I receive a call from Fletchers customer service dept asking if my problem was resolved to my satisfaction and I said no and explained I was still waiting to hear back from service dept at which time she transferred me over to the head of the service dept.The man said he had spoke with tech line and they were not to modify seat or replace it. He was told it is a characteristic of this vehicle. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!! At which time I told him I would NEVER purchase another Nissan again and it is a shame because my sister bought one just like mine because I liked mine so much until this and now they will never buy another Nissan either. I called 800 Nissan back and spoke with agent #** and asked for a supervisor. He said he will have a supervisor call me back no later than tomorrow. He did have me explain to him my issue so it could be noted prior to supervisor calling me back. 7/12/18 a supervisor called, left a message on my phone and said the dealership provided me with correct information. The vehicle is operating as designed and it is a normal characteristic. They will follow up with me tomorrow to make sure I received this message.7/16/18 Sammie called and I was not where I could talk so told her I would call her back Tuesday at 10 a.m. She gave me her direct #. 7/17/18 Sammie called me back at 9:40 a.m. Said all she could do was restate what I had been told which was it is a characteristic of this vehicle. I said I knew of other people per Fletcher dealership in Joplin that are having this same problem but I also know it is not every car since my sister bought the same vehicle due to my recommendation and hers does not do this so how can you consider this a characteristic. She once again said it is a characteristic of this vehicle. Call was ended! Case # ** 7/17/18 I called Sammie back. Left message to call me back - no return call. 7/18/18 called her again leaving another message with my # to please return my call and to this day still have not received a return call.
I took my 2013 rogue for brake shoes, check and told the service advisor that when the car is stopped at a stop sign or signal lights, the car makes a noise like the motor is falling apart. He stated he would check it. Next day he told me brake shoes are OK and that noise is normal. He said the brake shoes needed cleaning but would continue to make that noise. The strange noise that I also was concerned about, he stated it was from having the air on and the gas needs to idle more to keep it running. He said both noises are normal and it will always do that. I am disgusted and so I am trying to trade the car in. First Nissan car that I am not happy with!
My husband and I bought a Nissan Rogue in California a couple years ago. It started having what we thought was transmission issues at about 95,000 miles. We immediately took it to the shop to be evaluated. They said there was nothing wrong. I continued to drive it and kept having problems. We took it in several times and every time they said there was nothing wrong. A few months ago we moved to Tennessee and drove our Nissan. We were in the middle of nowhere and suddenly my car stopped shifting. It was stuck in a high gear. We were finally able to make it to Tennessee to a Nissan dealership in Cookeville. We had an appointment for 8am. I took the day of so we could drop it off and came back to pick it up later in the evening. When we got there they were not friendly and clueless as to what was going on and where our keys were. Finally they figured out that nobody even looked at our car. They didnt apologize, take ownership of their mistake or offer us a discount! I had to take the next day off again to be able to go back and pick it up when they were done. They finally called and informed us that the transmission needed to be replaced. The reason my husband and I are so upset with Nissan is because we were then informed that the transmission had a warranty until 120,000 miles and we were actively trying to get it fixed since about 95,000 miles because we could tell it was going out! We have contacted Nissan to inform them of our experience and they dont seem to really care about their customers. The Nissan of Cookeville website states that their commitment is to provide their customers with top notch customer service but that is not near what we received!
Ive had a 2016 Nissan Titan XD for the almost a year now and have enjoyed the truck, however, I was recently in an accident and was in need for parts. I have been waiting on parts for over 2 months now with no promise of getting my part any time soon. Upon talking to Nissan I got some rehearsed spiel about the backorder and was given no information on where the part is, why its been backordered over 2 months or when I would get it. I have been paying rental car fees for the last month out of pocket because the insurance coverage of a rental expired so everyday Im out more money because they cant produce the part I need. Ive driven a Nissan for the last 20 years and have been satisfied until this problem arose. Not being able to get the necessary parts makes me not that interested in driving Nissans if Im going to have to deal with this kind of issue anytime, God forbid, I would be in a wreck or some other problem comes up. So if youre thinking of buying a Nissan just beware that this issue could also become your issue.
The Nissan Micra is a nice little car, good on gas and easy to get around in traffic. It has none of the usual safety features that most new cars have but it is Bluetooth equipped.
Consider this. I have a 2011 Rogue and found out the CVT needs replacing. Since Nissan has created a monopoly around their CVT you cannot find parts to rebuild as you cannot buy them. The only way is to replace the entire CVT which you must purchase from Nissan. Ever wonder how they extended the warranty for 2008-2010 only but did the extension in 2014? They knew that the 2011, 2012, 2013 would all have the same problems. Maybe not enough complaints at that time for those years. So I checked the warranty on the brand new replacement CVT direct from Nissan and installed by Nissan... 12 months/20000kms. Although the exact same CVT on a brand new 2017 comes with 5years/60000km warranty. Read between the lines... Nissan cannot even back their own monopoly on CVT with a decent warranty. What a crock of **. Bye bye Nissan FOREVER. The GM of the dealership wont even return my call, probably because he has no excuses for the crap product the CVT is. Someone start a class action and take Nissan and their CRAP CVT down.
I contacted Nissan customer care. I currently own a 2013 Xterra Pro4x with 66,000 miles. I have driven manuals for 30 years. First clutch burned out 35,400. Second clutch was looked at in a dealership service at 63,000 miles. Was told clutch looked perfect, drove perfect. Had a smell coming from the clutch. 3,000 miles later driving at 60 mph in 5th gear, the clutch blew up. Sounded like an explosion followed by sounds of metal fragments rolling around inside. Nissan required a dealership to look at it. Their conclusion is the driver error caused the clutch failure.Ive never had to replace a clutch before 90/100k. Ive heard from other with the Xterra and Frontiers of this exact same problem happening. Now Im hearing if the transmissions going out at 76,000 miles. They are wanting $2700 to replace a clutch that is sure to fail again. Something is causing these clutches and transmissions to fail. So many mechanics and friends are telling me to get rid of the car ASAP. Lesson learned do not buy Nissan. Nissan does not stand behind their product.
I bought a brand new 2013 Versa with my hard-earned money. Within the first month, I had to bring it back to the dealer because the lock on the trunk broke and I was locked out of my trunk for three weeks waiting for the right part. My car has already broken down twice due to engine troubles. Thank God, I have the extended warranty. Seven months old and my car is already breaking down!!! Now, I have a rattling sound coming from the engine. I take good care of my car and I change the oil on time. Nissan service dept has been great but at this point, I just want my car to work the way it should!!!
2005 Nissan Xterra, low miles (less than 60,000). Oil in radiator (Listed on mechanics repair summary). Engine replacement cost $6,000. Submitted claim to Nissan as part of Class Action. Received settlement of $190. Should have been obvious that: 1) Engine shouldnt fail at 60,000 miles (Nissan mechanics have told me that engine is bullet-proof), 2) engine oil in radiator indicates some level of engine failure.
I bought my car in Swansea car dealer Bassett on the 27 of May 2016 but the car did not have a spare tire or emergency kit as declared by the dealer. I have been stopped by the police and they told me l was breaking the law. I told them that when l bought the car there was no spare tire or emergency kit and they told me that Nissan as a company was suppose to provide a spare tire or emergency kit.
I just paid my van off when I started having engine issues. At 120,000 codes read p1701 tcm wiring, p0746 pressure control solenoid, p1778 step motor, p0868 pressure control module. Is it the transmission? The mechanic doesnt want to touch it. Just wants to change the tranny. I can not afford this. I am single mom. Is there not someone that can rebuild them properly??? I bought a Nissan (2011 Quest) because I thought it would last longer. I have not driven the van in 6 months. Its a total loss if I spend the money and it happens again then I am putting good money after bad. Its not worth anything as a down payment if I have to tow it in. Has anyone got to the bottom of this???
I have been a loyal Nissan owner/leaser for almost 20 years - I have literally had 9 Nissans, and have always been happy with their performance. I was 2 years into my current Pathfinder lease, and my financial situation changed dramatically due to a divorce and job loss. My income went down to a third of what it was, and the monthly payment was just too much. I understand that many people have financial hardships, but as an extremely loyal Nissan customer who NEVER missed a payment and has excellent credit, I thought that Nissan would work with me on an early termination fee reduction. Three weeks and numerous phone calls later, I was literally told by a Customer Service supervisor that while she had the power to make an adjustment, she simply couldnt break their policy. Losing my business after 20 years was apparently worth the $1800 early termination fee, or actually less than that, as I was willing to pay something on a credit card to leave this lease, and then lease a less expensive Nissan that fit my budget. I worked with Hyundai, and they gave me more than $1000 more than my Nissan dealership was willing to give me for my Pathfinder. I unfortunately have the same payment on my new vehicle, but I own instead of leasing, and I will save $100 a month on gas. At least its something... but Nissan has lost me as a customer forever.
I am a Federal employee being reassigned overseas for a 3-year assignment that involves the security and safety of the USA. I currently have a leased vehicle with Nissan Motor Acceptance Corporation (NMAC), which I cannot take out of the country. NMAC will not allow me to terminate the contract early without paying them a penalty of $13,186.30. Only if I was active duty military would they make the exception. Even after providing a copy of my orders and explaining that I am a USMC veteran that is continuing to serve the USA in a civilian capacity to help protect the lives of our citizens and prevent another 9/11, they still will not make the exception. I am not trying to get out of the contract for financial reasons or circumvent the system in any way; I just cannot take the vehicle with me. I find NMACs business ethics insensitive and unacceptable. So much for Never forget.
I have been very disappointed with Nissan and Bob Richards Nissan. My airbag light came on (not flashing). I was told that I had a sensor in the seat of the passenger that had gone bad. I was told that you could not replace the sensor only, but that you had to replace the whole seat to the tune of $4,300. My car doesnt even have electronic adjustments on the seat. After much discussion with Bob Richards Nissan and North Augusta, South Carolina and with consumer affairs for Nissan, I was told that I was out of warranty and that my extended warranty did not cover this. I am shocked that Nissan would not stand behind a safety feature on my car.I was told that my car had 90,000 miles on it, actually it has 99,090 miles on it and it was out of manufacture warranty. When I pick the car up I brought to their attention that my airbag light was not on anymore. I asked them did they disconnect something to cause the lights to go off and they said no that they could not do that. I told them that my light was not on anymore. One of the service guys said to the other one cant we just turn it back on. The other service guy said no we cannot do that. The technician who has been working on the car had reset the light and now it is off. I have driven about 60 miles and so far the light has not came back on. So, do I have a problem or not? What if I had given them $4,300 and did not even need to be fixed. The service guy wrote on my paperwork that he knew that the light has gone off and that the repairs still needed to be done. Well does it? I am very disappointed that Nissan or Bob Richards Nissan would not stand behind the safety feature on my car. I will never buy Nissan again. I drove a Toyota Camry prior to this car and it had 289000 miles on it when I gave it to someone else and it is still on the road today. Next time I will buy Toyota, but not from Bob Richards Toyota. Again, I am disappointed and disgusted that a seat would cost $4,300.
Still trying to pursue a Lawsuit over a negative life-changing experience which cost me negative and fraudulent credit reporting by NMAC of which I did end up homeless, (my line of work depended heavily on a near perfect credit report) for which NMAC finance/accounting department exercise Corporate Greed to the Max!NMAC lacks Leadership in their Accounting Department. Will accept Fraudulent paperwork that High School Graduates with ZERO accounting background, are the financier within Nissan Dealership cross country. The Nissan Dealership Mission is to prey on the Independent Purchaser; check / run credit background, even at a great Credit Score Rating, will state Zero% interest, yet Contract at 4.99% interest... Gross financial administrative error! Then, they will overinflate car cost. (Bait & Switch rule) Targeting and profiling minorities. (**s, Hispanic and Single Women purchasers.)Truth is, the dealership gains!!! The NMAC financial service gains, the State DMV gains, and the infrastructure within the county gains at the expense of the Consumer! As a whole, Nissan Capitalizes on good citizens absent of Financial Accountability by accepting fraudulent contracts by their own dealership!! This action would never hold merit in US Banking or Security grounded financial institutions.The Dealership will sell maintenance issue Vehicles under the pretense that car is without flaws. While the very own Consumer Protection Lawyer in that particular district eats lunch with the local Lawyer who represents Nissan Dealerships and NMAC! Even the Lemon Law doesnt hold up in Court, to include Consumer lawyers must be paid heavily as a kick-back bonus to steer clear of Lawsuits targeting Nissan. Similar to pharmaceutical Corporations and malpractice suits with cross-contamination probable issues! Those Consumers lack legal representation as a whole! Still hoping to get involved with a Class Action Consumer Violation on a Federal Scale! Oh, did I mention its a Japanese Corporation; manufacturing in Tennessee... NMAC Financial Department lacks Leadership, fails to correct issues and prey on U.S. Citizens as a whole! Now, lets talk about tariff issues of an overseas corporate business dealing in the USA. The last I saw, the Yen is stronger than the dollar and we continue to be screwed one way or another...THINK ABOUT THAT, before you buy Asian based Products. For the love of MONEY!
I leased a Nissan Altima in 2006 and made all lease payments until the lease expired. The dealer that originally took the lease went out of business. I was told to continue payments and complied. In 2012 I was told that the payoff was $3,000. I continued to make the payments until that amount and more was reached. I have now been told that I still have to make the payments even though the total payoff has been made. All I want is my title so that the vehicle can be sold. Tonight I find myself online drafting a lawsuit against Nissan because they are still trying to charge me for the vehicle even though I have held up my end of the deal. Somehow they feel that because the dealer went out of business, I am obligated to pay indefinitely for this vehicle. Consumer Affairs at Nissan has been of no use. There is obviously no oversight at this company.
I purchased a new Titan Pro 4X and recently noticed a trim piece around the interior door handle is missing. After a month taking it into the dealership, I contacted the dealer and found out they failed ordering the part. Now I have tried twice to contact Nissan directly, but I cannot get an answer back from them. Send me the part and I will put it on!!!
I have a Quest with 70,000 miles and a bad AC compressor. This is a $1000 repair through Nissan, and far too soon in the life of this vehicle. I contacted the Nissans customer support line. After holding for about an hour and a half, I did finally get a chance to talk to someone. He couldnt commit to any financial assistance Nissan doing anything until I had Nissan look at it, even though the local garage had already assessed it for free. I understand why that is necessary. You cant just start throwing money at a problem, and not all garages are well qualified to work on modern vehicles. I said that was fine, but wanted to make sure that Nissan might be able to help me out before I went to the trouble. He said that IS something that Nissan does, but couldnt make any guarantees because they look at each case individually. He also said that they do good will warranties all the time past the standard warranty of the vehicle.I begged for some sort of criteria they looked for because in order for Nissan to look at my Quest, it was going to cost me $120 and half a day to diagnose the problem by the time I drove for an hour and a half to the nearest Nissan dealership. I wasnt keen on the idea of wasting my time and money if there was no chance of getting financial assistance. With no criteria to offer me, I took the risk, because I felt surely a reputable auto manufacturer would acknowledge that spending $1000 for repair parts on a non-wear item at 70,000 miles is a bit outrageous. It took Nissan a few days to look at my circumstance. I was sorely disappointed. Not only did they decline to help me out, the explanation they gave me was that it was out of warranty. NO WAAAYYY! Since that time I requested the case be escalated, however Nissan wont return my calls.Ill be honest. Im not fun to talk to about this. I dont curse at those poor people on the phone, but I feel strongly that a brand new car taken good care of should make to at least 100,000 miles with no concerns. Im sorely disappointed with the ability to work with customers, and of course even more disappointed in my van, which I used to like. Now I have reservations that the vehicle I purchased new to depend on to transport my family safely, is not as reliable as I had previously believed. Nor is the company that built it have any concerns about instilling confidence in its customers after their Nissans fail them.I will not be buying another Nissan, nor would I recommend one to anyone else. Im not certain that another manufacturer would have handled the circumstance any differently, but I know how Nissan handled it. Fool me once... Take my advice. Take a warranty seriously. 36,000 miles isnt much, and take tracked reliability ratings seriously. I wish I had. Oh, and dont buy a Nissan.
Nissan has to be one of the worst companies known to man. If youre having issues dont even bother to contact consumer affairs because all youre going to get is an Im sorry. Honestly sorry does nothing for the problem I am having. A little over 30 days ago I purchased a certified 2014 Nissan Sentra. All to find out I was infested with German roaches. The dealership refused to fix this issue until I personally went in there and threatened to tell all of their customers they sell cars with roaches in them. What makes it worst is I also need my brakes done and my ac filter changed. But to make things worse the mechanic wont touch my vehicle in the condition that it is in because it is infested with cockroaches. I called Nissan USA and only thing that they could say is Im sorry to hear that. My car has been bombed over 10 times and over a week later I still have only gotten a sorry from Nissan. Quite frankly I dont even want my car back after it had to be bombed 10 times.
Route 23 AutoMall was pleasant when I purchased the lease on my Nissan Maxima, however when my lease was over and I needed to return the car, everything was different. I purchased my lease at Route 23 AutoMall in NJ and then moved to Rhode Island. However, when my lease term was over, I returned my car back to Route 23 AutoMall where I originally purchased the car. Once a customer, always a customer, think again!Route 23 AutoMall lied about willingness of returning out-of-state license plates to the DMV and instead, salesperson ** kept them in their desk drawer. This action resulted in property tax from Rhode Island for 3 months when I no longer had the car. Returning the plates to RI DMV is the only indicator to stop property tax from being generated. I am seeking $148 from dealership to cover the timeframe (June-August) where I no longer owned the car, but was being charged taxes because salesperson kept the plates in their office and had me believe they were going to mail them back to Rhode Island. I purchase a 2015 last yr 2014. March of 2015 I was driving on the highway going about 60/70 when my car dropped on its own all the way down to 10/15. Me and my kids were in the car. Took it to Sheridan Nissan where I bought the car from, they couldnt find anything. Well it happen again, this time my husband recorded on his phone showed the service department. They replace the transmission. Now 10/2015 the transmission seal broke.
My airbag light came on and my passenger air bag indicator showed off. I took to my local mechanic who told me there was a voluntary recall P8242 and therefore I needed to go to a dealership since this was covered under warranty. I took my vehicle to Haldeman Nissan in Hamilton NJ and was told it was not covered due to the wrong vin #. I should call Nissan consumer affairs. I was told someone would be back to me by end of day next day. That morning after supplying all information including quote of 4911.52 from dealership to repair (lined up exactly to recall repair) told nothing they could do since wrong vin #. I consider this not standing behind their product. A known issue and they will not fix a vehicle with approximately 60k miles. Last Nissan I will purchase. Also told by mechanic transfer case leaking and due to rust on my rotors they should be replaced. A small amount of rust accumulated since I had been on vacation and car was not used. Felt like they were trying to pull a fast one. Back to Ford/Mazda for me.
I was a loyal Nissan fan after switching from a Honda to Nissan in 2012. Recently the CVT transmission gave up on my 2014 Maxima and I contacted the dealer to then find out the warranty expired at 60,000 miles so I emailed a formal complaint with Nissan headquarters only to receive a templated reply within 12 hours stating their warranty bound goodwill assistance and reimbursement policy which basically came down to me having to cover the repairing costs of $3400 myself! Seeing the number of negative reviews with no intended solutions on Nissans behalf, Ive decided to Never ever purchase a vehicle from Nissan again or any of their affiliated brands! Nissan lost another one!
Dec of 2018 I purchased my 8th Nissan through a local used car dealer. I purchased a 2015 Nissan Altima with 43k miles cosmetically good condition. At first I noticed it was smoking blue when I would power on the vehicle and the smell of Burnt rubber. As I normally do with all my vehicles I called Nissan to see if it had any recalls etc. and took it for service, shortly after I get low oil pressure on my dash. I then looked at the owners manual and called where I had my oil change they re serviced and did not notice any leaks etc.3/20/10 I took it to Rothrock Nissan in Allentown for diagnostics and they tell me that there is oil burning something having to do with the valves, but that I needed to bring it in again for a 3 hr diagnostics at $120 hr (of course this is out of pocket unless its approved to be covered by Nissan powertrain warranty that the vehicle still had till it reached 60k). I took my vehicle in on 3/26/19 in the morning, at this point I needed a rental to get to and from. I asked my advisor Simone and she says they dont have any and proceeds to call a major car rental co. I called throughout the week to get updates since it went from a 3 hr to a wk long diagnostics and I was told they found sludge in the oil pan therefore more than likely Nissan would deny covering under warranty as that only happens due to poor maintenance. (Really? Im being held liable for a previous owner lack of maintenance yet I have all my service receipts).I quickly called Consumer Affairs and opened a claim with them which I didnt get a call till I had already picked up my car on a Tuesday because when I went to Rothrock my car was unassembled and the tech working on it was off. Really??? Wow customer service and having me an answer by Friday of the same week, keep in mind I called the service manager Patrick twice to get updates and no return call. I literally had to show up after work to get an answer. At this point I have to keep a rental 3 more days to my expense (smh). I was told the claim had not been approved yet and I would have to wait till Monday 4/1/19. I called Monday and they stated it had been denied now the warranty was null and void. Lovely Nissan!!!!I will never purchase another Nissan needless to say, being that they do not stand by their clients, I am now $690 out of pocket between car rental and diagnostics and they did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to try and make up for not approving replacing the engine through the powertrain warranty. They shouldve at least covered the diagnostics then. Tuesday of that following week I get a call from Trenisha at Nissan Consumer Affairs and they didnt even know I had the vehicle in my possession nor that supposedly the claim had been denied.So now Im 10k in a car debt/payment for a car that needs a new engine, had powertrain warranty but no longer valid through Nissans decision and $690 less in my pocket. So much for staying faithful to the brand. AGAIN dont BUY USED NISSANS THAT SO CALLED ARE STILL UNDER WARRANTY AS THEY WILL LOOK FOR ANY EXCUSE TO NOT COVER. The worst part is realistically no used car dealer takes out all of the oil pans to used vehicles purchased at auctions or traded in.
I leased a 2013 Nissan Leaf two years ago from Peoria Nissan in Arizona. At the time, the salesman told me not to worry about the battery because Nissan just replaces them if there is any problem. That is totally a lie, and Peoria Nissan will not be of any assistance to me with my Nissan Leaf that has a range now of 59 miles (maybe) in the winter with no heater on. Dont ask about how it fares in the summer - it is ugly to say the least. I now have one more year to suffer through this vehicle because Nissan says the battery charges up to 10 bars and must decline to 8 bars.We know that this does not take into account battery fade - in other words - yes, it looks good when it is first charged, but like all failing batteries, the range quickly decreases as soon as you pull out of your driveway. My lesson in all of this is that Peoria Nissan lies to its customers - yes I know I should not be surprised, and that the manufacturer is choosing to make folks keep a car that simply does not meet the needs stated by the buyer when purchasing the car. I expected somewhere in the range of 70 miles which would allow me to drive back and forth to my work site daily and make a couple side trips as well.This was all explained to the salesman when I leased the car. He is no longer with the dealership. So, I asked if the dealer would work with me on terminating my lease and getting a 2016 Leaf that supposedly had a better battery. Unlike the salesmans reassurances that it was no big deal to end the lease after 24 months, the dealer asked for the entire amount of the last 12 payments and the car. The explanation was that Nissan had changed its lease terms and that the residual value stated in my contract was no longer really valid.The upshot was that for over 900 dollars per month, I could get out of my current lease, turn in my car and get a comparable 2016 Nissan Leaf. Ha Ha Ha. I am laughing only because I am happy to share this saga with anyone who might be foolish enough to trust Nissan and buy or lease one of their vehicles. My advice - just because their contracts are preprinted - insist on adding terms that the salesman tells you in writing and have them initial them. You will then perhaps find out what the real deal is. Thanks for listening.
I made 32 phone calls (documented), 2 faxes to car dealer, certified letter – NO RESPONSES. All I wanted was to make my first payment before it was late! I HAD a credit score of over 750 and in 2 months NMAC (Nissan finance) RUINED my credit – now its 620! I spent over 5 weeks just trying to get the mailing address to make my payment. I called 3 different published phone numbers for NMAC and they didnt have my account registered! I didnt exist – no account number to put my $$$ towards! Next thing I know – REPO! Even before repo I had my atty involved and they even ignored her calls!Finally, after the Repo, the repo company was obligated by law to give me the phone number to contact. I had a 3-way phone call with Nissan and my lawyer on the line. I explained everything and said I would be willing to pay the entire amount, even plus 1 month in exchange for them faxing my attorney, admitting that NMAC made an error and I was never late on my payments. Thats all I asked for! I was willing to let them get away with doing this to me, but they refused to admit fault. I told them Id see them in court then. My atty was even surprised at how they treated me and said she never had a company REFUSE $$$.
Bought the used 2012 Nissan Sentra S in July and after starting to drive it, kept hearing a popping and clunking noise coming from the passenger side rear area. Pops and snaps when turning the wheel right and braking and straightening the steering. I have spoken with other owners of the Nissan Sentra and they have the same issues. Some customers have spent lots of money trying to resolve the issue but I think Nissan needs to step up and take the responsibility for a faulty design. Other Nissans owners are having the same issues. Scary to drive and seems difficult to diagnose, but may be coming from the steering or wheel area. Please help us to keep the reviews positive for Nissan here in Smyrna but at this point it is not a pleasant experience.
Buying a Nissan is the worst decision I have ever made. Was expecting a great car but it sucks when the problems come out. Dealerships do nothing except getting money out of your pocket. Contact customer service made it even worse. Extremely regret to buy a Nissan. Worst brand and service I have ever seen in my life. WANT MY MONEY BACK.
In 2011, I purchased a 2011 Versa. After driving it for a few months, the new model came out with a different body style. I traded my 2011 model for a 2012. I purchased an extended maintenance warranty on the 2011, received a refund for it and purchased another maintenance warranty for the 2012 Versa. After a few months in February 2012, I totaled the 2012 Versa and requested to have the remainder of the maintenance warranty returned to me. I went to dealership and completed all of the required paperwork and turned it in to my salesman (the guy in the finance office was busy). I was told that the money would be mailed to my house within 4-6 weeks.After 2 months (in May 2012), I called dealership to let them know that I had not received my refund and was told they would look into it. Every month from then until now, I have called the dealership and still nothing has happened. I am being given the runaround by the finance manager and the accounting manager. I will never purchase another Nissan in my life.
Purchased my first new vehicle, Nissan Frontier SV 4x4 Crew Cab. So far I have had 3 problems, Nissan has only covered one. I feel like instead of driving around in a new truck, I am driving a big, junk box now. Thanks so much for that feeling! No hole drilled for air conditioner drain. Water leaked all over the interior and blew out of every vent. Nissan fixed this. The paint on the rear wheel wells is literally falling off after 5,000 miles. After several frustrating attempts Nissan refuses to fix this, claiming it is environmental. The dealer even told me this is a design flaw that Nissan is not owning up to. The rear sonar now no longer works @ 8,000 miles. Nissan has basically told me No several times to the paint, claiming its environmental. I live on a normal street, happened at 5000 miles, none of the other cars on my street have this issue! I am at the end of my wits. I feel like not only do I not have a new car, but that Nissan stole $28,000.00 for me. If money were not an issue, Id dump this vehicle for a Chevy ASAP.
As a new Nissan owner, I had always been told what great, reliable cars these were. Well, I am glad that I am leasing my car, and didnt buy it outright. I havent ever had a new car with problems. And saying that, I have owned both domestic and foreign. I have had problems with my transmission, suspension, and taking the car out of park since the first week of ownership. Had I known about the CVT belt problem with the transmission, I would have gone with my first choice in cars. The upside is that the dealership at Cool Springs, and Murfreesboro TN are about as nice as a person could ask for.
On Sept. 24 2014 I bought a NISSAN ROUGE SV color metallic blue. Around 2015-2016 I noticed small paint chipping off on the hood, front bumpers and I thought it was normal so I bought a touch-up kit paint now just about every day I have paint chipping off and to me looks like a cheap one coat paint by NISSAN CORPORATION. I filed a complaint with the Broward General Attorney under the protection of LEMON LAW in Florida. I paid $29300.00 brand new and is being kept in my home garage.
I purchased a new 2011 Altima in August 2011 on a lease, placing $3,000 down and monthly payments around $260.00. In September, I received a statement showing a credit. Again in October, the statement reflected a credit. I called NMAC to verify these credits were indeed correct, I was assured the account was correct and that my first actual payment would be due in December. At the end of October, I received a collection call stating I was 30 some days overdue with a balance of $368.00 owing. Coincidentally, that day I received a letter from NMAC stating that during an internal audit, they mistakenly applied an amount to my account as a credit and that this amount would be added to my next statement. I called NMAC and told them I have not received a statement showing their mistake and a corrected amount to pay. I would pay when I received the statement. The hounding calls persisted, they even called my place of employment. I called the manager of the dealership, he explained that the dealership and NMAC are two entirely different companies but he offered to help. I received my November statement which has an overage amount due for over $200.00.I paid my arranged payment plus the overage, check cleared. Again in December, the invoice was paid, cleared bank. On December 2, 2011, my dealership manager even intervened and was told that they had cleared up the mess, they informed him that my account and another lease holders account - 1 number apart- was the reason for the confusion. He was told everything is fine, my account is current. I, myself confirmed this information with Nissan. Today, Friday December 23, 2011, at 9:15am at the place of employment, I received a call from NMAC credit attempting to collect a debt 32 days overdue for $368.00, stating insufficient funds. Unbelievable!This company is impossible to deal with - speaking to India without the ability to sit down face to face and hammer out the problems is so frustrating. Local dealerships can only help so much. I have been advised by a family attorney that these companies cannot contact you repeatedly at your place of employment - so I advised them today to cease calling me at work - they are now on notice. This is becoming the worst experience of my life and I will not continue with this idiocy for the next 4 years. We consumers are at the mercy of this NMAC plus they can potentially ruin our credit rating. I may need legal help soon!
On January 15th, 2015 I met with Internet advisor of Nissan of Duarte to trade in my 2012 Prius C for 2015 Leaf thinking I was going from hybrid to electric. What was I thinking? I traded in my Prius for 2015 leaf. When I left dealership leaf wasnt fully charged I was given option of taking my Prius home and to have leaf delivered next day. I figured Leaf had enough gas to get me home and I could charge it the next day. Boy was I wrong. As I was driving approaching Burbank the gas bars kept going down which forced me to exit freeway and head to Glendale Nissan hoping I could charge vehicle... Unfortunately it is 11 pm and dealer is closed. I am stranded with brand new car alone in front of Nissan dealership. I had to contact Nissan roadside assistance to tow vehicle to my home. I got home past 2 am frustrated and exhausted I had to miss work the next day.The whole process of charging vehicle at home only works if you have your own place, if you rent like me it is simply not practical. I had to go to dealership near my home to charge vehicle daily. This car only allows you to go so many miles without requiring recharge, not worth it if it is main car in your household. 3rd day with this car and I had to call AAA again because me and my spouse were stranded at gas station after going to a theater 15 miles away from home car required charging again pathetic. On 4th day I contacted Internet representative from Nissan of Duarte and demanded something to be done. I couldnt be stuck with a lemon on a lease for 5 years and in spite of everything I was willing to do business with Nissan. I returned Nissan leaf on 1/18/15 and leased 2015 nissan altima and after having car for 4 days only I was stuck with 10000 negative equity on top of 24000 for Altima lease for 5 years. I am paying almost $600 month for an Altima and after recently contacting nissan consumer affairs I was told that nissan of Duarte followed proper procedures. Talk about complete rip off. Beware false mileage advertising of leaf and company that doesnt stand behind its products. The worse part this is 2nd vehicle purchased at this dealer but after going through depression and all stay away if you can therere better cars in the market. My ratings below pertain to Leaf.
My CVT/transfer case is shot. I called Nissan asking for help due to their warranty extension implemented from so many people having the same problems. I live in a small town and they refused to help me, stating that I needed to pay to have it towed to their dealership 200 miles away and even that doesnt guarantee that they would cover the repairs. They would not allow another non-Nissan dealer to fix it under warranty. NEVER EVER EVER AGAIN will I buy Nissan! They do NOT look out for their customers and left me SOL.
I purchased a new van from Nissan. Immediately after it was purchased, the fan fell off and the car stalled. Unbelievable but very true. Now, Nissan will NOT answer my calls. I tried contacting the dealership in Colorado Springs, multiple times and to no avail, they did not return my calls. I am from Miami and cannot travel to Colorado just to get in touch with Nissan. I dont know what else to do. A representative was supposed to call me back and NEVER did. Its been over 2 weeks now. I expect a representative from Nissan to contact me immediately to resolve this matter. Otherwise, I will continue to leave reviews on every possible site until someone from corporate contacts me to resolve this. This is the MOST unprofessional experience from any company in the world. I bought a 2014 Nissan versa note from dealership on June 9th 2014. I signed the contract and took it home that day. A week later I took in my down payment and signed another contract to reflect that. A week later I get a letter from dealership saying my loan was not approved and I needed to return the car within 48 hours. I called the finance office and was told they were working on it and would call me the next day. The next day I received a phone call saying they got my loan approved and I would have to come in and sign a new contract...which I did on June 30th. From June 30th to august 28th I was waiting for title, plates, payment info etc. from the bank. I never got those things. Instead, the dealership came out in the wee hours of the morning and took the car. Apparently because my loan was not approved. I have contacted legal counsel and will fight this.
I purchased my 2017 Nissan Titan with high hopes and excitement but all the hype did not last. The driver seat broke not shortly after I purchased the truck and has been replaced 3 times and is process of getting repaired for the fourth time. It developed an oil leak after around 5,000 miles which was a valve cover and was repaired but now has another oil leak and the truck only has 14,450 miles. When it snow or ices the parking sensors go haywire. The computer had to be reprogrammed for shifting issues. The rear end has popping sound when the brakes are applied and the list of issues continue to grow. I have gotten to the point that I scared to drive the truck let alone have family ride with me in it. I have been in constant contact with the dealership and consumer affairs. I and just extremely disappointed about this $48000 golden covered **. I just hope people think twice and have better luck when it come to this truck.
I filed complaints with Bakersfield Nissan, Dept. of Consumer Affairs and Better Business to no avail. Then I filed the complaint with Nissan. Last February I purchased a 2006 (used) Nissan Murano which had 33,660 on the odometer. I had a hard time getting credit due to a 3-year divorce action, which messed up my credit. Bakersfield Nissan ended up making paper work for three different credit agencies. With this voluminous amount of paper work, I didnt read everything.When I purchased the car, I was not informed there wasnt any warranty on it. I should have been told this and offered an extended warranty. The sales manager tried to tell me it was my responsibility and I told him (cant say it) in no kind words. I worked as Office Manager-Accountant for 4 dealerships back in Rhode Island, one being an AMC-Datsun-Peugeot dealership in Provided operated by the Gabrolowitze brothers back in the late 60s.While going over the car with the salesman I pointed out several items that had to be fixed, including a dent below rear tail light, missing tire caps, dent on rear aluminum panel below trunk, loose visor (drivers side), etc. I told him Id wait; bring it in after a few weeks in case of something else was wrong. When I returned, the salesman wasnt there, so I brought it to repair shop. They gave me a bill for $2,000.00 and I left in a huff. Before a couple weeks I noticed oil leaked on my driveway and thought it was the transmission. I was informed by the service manager that the power steering ($800.00) was leaking and needed to be replaced. The visor cost was $400.00. They were only going to repair the damage at the paint shop. After much complaining, they fixed the visor but that was it. You should have copy of my December 7th letter complaining about all this.I ended up paying $400.00 for something else as the power steering element was okay. Then the alternator went and I had that repaired for another $410.00. I can see that nothing was done to prep this car for sale. I brought it to EZ Lube for an oil change ($40.00); American Tire (4 Michelin tires) at $813.00. I know this would be my obligation, but mileage was only 54,284. To ensure tires would last, I had front end alignment at Pep Boys ($75.00).I told people at Nissan I would never set foot in their establishment again and have not been a good ambassador for Nissan. They kept sending me service reminders. So Id call and told them to remove my name from their customers. I am almost 80 and have had many cars in my life but not a Nissan. In the late 60s I purchased a Datsun, 210Z for my daughter. Most of the vehicles I purchased were Fords. Also, Chevys, VWs and Toyotas.Going back to the contract, when I wasnt offered an extended warranty they charged me $695.00 for GAP insurance which I didnt want. This money could have been used for a warranty. I cancelled it before the 90 days and received a refund. Also, after all the complaints I filed, the sales manager offered me an extended warranty $100.00 over his cost to which I declined and told him it was too late and should have occurred in February when I could have had it included on my contract. I have always been very proud to say that I have purchased all of my cars from Nissan. I’ve been loyal customer to Nissan for 20 + years, buying all five of my cars and referred many of my family and friends who were looking for a car. My financing company for my Nissan Altima is Nissan as well. I travel many times a year and rent my cars through Nissan. Corona Nissan and Downey Nissan have been my dealerships. Tim ** is my loyal dealership representative who always took care of my car buying experience. Because of him he had proven to me what great customer care and loyalty Nissan has toward their customers.On 1/20/16 I got off work and attempted to head home. The indicator or key was lit up on my dashboard. I figured it was the battery in my remote and I could replace it. I stopped at the store on the way home. My car didn’t start leaving me stranded. After being towed to Carson Nissan, I was informed that the reason it didn’t start was because the Intelligent key malfunctioned and it would cost $1018.23 to fix. I had to borrow money to get this fixed. Looking in the owner’s manual, it clearly states that it is a Malfunction which to me is an issue that needs to be handled by Nissan.I contacted Nissan Consumer Affairs in hopes that I could get some kind of financial support with this situation. The agent that contacted me within 24 hours left a message and said they would be making a decision on the matter within 7 business days. I tried to call her back to discuss the situation but receive a callback. I received a call denying my claim. I was told that this decision was based on the year of my car, mileage and my warranty expired back in July. Of course, for me, I was VERY disappointed.As a customer of Nissan I should have had the opportunity to be able to talk to someone that listened. Every time I called Nissan ConsumerAffairs I received an answering machine. The agent I spoke to I felt didnt listen. I believe that this decision was completely unfair. Not one person asked what kind of customer I am to Nissan. I always believed that Nissan took care of their customers but now that isn’t the case. Through the years, I have never contacted Nissan ConsumerAffairs for any kind of assistance. I understand that I am responsible for my car’s wear and tear. I would never take advantage of the company that I have always thought so highly of. However, in this matter, I feel that because my owner’s manual says malfunction this is an issue that Nissan should be responsible for. Due to this decision and how it was handled, I will NEVER buy a Nissan nor will I ever refer my friends and family members again.
Bought a new 2005 Nissan Sentra from Nissan in 2005. In 2015, only have 74,000 miles. Catalytic Converter and Engine still under warranty. Catalytic Converter went out and caused damage to the Engine. Let Nissan look at my car one day. Engine light was on. Could not find problem. Took car out and air conditioner not working! Only blew hot air! Had to pay over $500! Left car at Nissan. Kept given different dates to pick up car. Nissan claim they were waiting on parts, and kept my car for 6 weeks! Was given a free rental car under the warranty. Cannot drive rental car for my job! Lost six weeks of wages.
