Automobile Troubleshooting

The Tires are Flat
A tire will obviously be flat if it is punctured but it can also be caused by normal wear and tear. Keeping the tires rotated in accordance with Dodge’s instructions can help extend their life. The best practice is to rotate the tires when you change your engine oil or every 5,000 miles.

The Tires are Wearing Unevenly
A certain amount of wear over time is normal but if you find that the tires wear down quickly this indicates a potential problem. If there is vibration through the steering wheel or you find that your tires are wearing unevenly you should ask someone to check the vehicle. It could be that the suspension needs alignment. In addition, sometimes tire problems are caused by external factors or by defects in manufacture.

Brakes Squeaking or Grinding
Like any other moving part on your car, the brake system is intended to wear out over a designated period of time. Brakes are vital for safe stopping, so when they display any symptoms of issues, like squealing, squeaking, or a soft brake pedal – they should be inspected by a professional mechanic as soon as possible. While minor problems can cause squeaking or squealing noises, once the brakes start grinding, it’s a definite sign they need to be replaced.

Steering Wheel Shaking
Multiple issues can cause the steering wheel to shake while driving. If it happens right after starting your car and beginning to drive, wheel bearings or damaged suspension components are the most likely culprits. If it happens at higher speeds, it’s typically a tire/wheel balance issue. Regardless, having a professional mechanic inspect the vehicle at your location is the best way to correctly diagnose and resolve this issue.

The Engine is Sputtering
There are multiple parts that keep an engine running well but a misfiring or sputtering engine is one of the most common issues. For an engine to run efficiently the right amount of air and fuel must mix and then burn within the combustion chamber. In order for this to run correctly, there are a number of components in the fuel and ignition systems that have to work in unison. In order to keep these types of issues to a minimum, the fuel and ignition systems must be maintained and replaced according to the manufacturer’s recommendations.

Car pulling on one side
You’re out on the highway or you’re simply coming back from the office and while driving your car in a straight line for some time you realize that your car is throwing itself to the guardrail and you have to put in extra effort to keep your car straight-lined. This can be a very panicky situation for a novice driver.
But not to worry, nothing terrible has happened to your car, it’s just that your car is out of alignment i.e all four wheels aren’t pointing in a linear manner and they are off their usual angle with the road while moving.
Wheel alignment is recommended to be checked after every 6,000-8,000 km to avoid any major damage to the wheels or the suspension of the car.

Overheating
You might suspect overheating to be higher on this list, but in reality, it occurs rarely. In most modern cars, the cooling system is very complex, containing multiple sensors that monitor coolant temperature, flow, and other components. Staying on top of radiator flush services and changing the water pump before it breaks are two easy ways to reduce the potential for overheating issues.
