Cadillac Goddess returns for a new era
Posted On: December 25, 2022
The 2024 Cadillac Celestiq EV flagship is a step toward the future for the General Motors luxury brand, but it also resurrects a bit of the past in the form of the Cadillac Goddess mascot. A relic of the days when hood ornaments were fashionable, the Cadillac Goddess appeared on the hoods of various models from 1930 to 1956, and made a brief comeback on the 1959 Cadillac Eldorado Brougham. It isn't being used as a hood ornament anymore (that probably wouldn't be great for aerodynamics, though the issue hasn't stopped Rolls-Royce from using one) but the same female figure does appear on the Celestiq. You can find the Goddess in a trim piece on the Celeste's front quarter panel, within the infotainment controller on the center console, on a plaque on the driver's side door sill, and in the charge port, where a lit image of the mascot indicates the car is charging. Cadillac Goddess The front quarter panel piece is milled from billet aluminum, surrounding a Goddess molded in glass. The infotainment controller also features a glass centerpiece with an image of the Goddess, surrounded by an aluminum dial that turns independent of the Goddess, ensuring the image always remains upright. Automotive mascots came into vogue in the late 1920s and early 1930s, when the invention of instrument-cluster temperature gauges left room for hood ornaments atop radiators, where temperature gauges were previously located. The original Cadillac Goddess was designed by William N. Schnell of Ternstedt Manufacturing Company, a GM subsidiary responsible for the automaker's brightwork, between 1928 and 1929. It was used at first alongside another mascot, the Heron, but the latter only lasted a few years. 2024 Cadillac Celestiq The Goddess first appeared on the Cadillac V-16 flagship. Its use was expanded across the lineup following a 1933 redesign by Chris J. Klein and John R. Morgan, also of Ternstedt Manufacturing. Cadillac redesigned the Goddess again in 1941, but use of this version was cut short by World War II. Further updates occurred in the 1950s under the supervision of legendary GM design boss Harley Earl, but the Goddess was retired at the end of the decade. Cadillac began planning to bring it back in 2016 as part of a new design direction heralded by the Escala concept, which debuted at Pebble Beach that year. A revised version of the Goddess inspired by the 1933 design will be used solely on the Celestiq to denote the big electric hatchback's exclusivity. Scheduled to go on sale in 2024, the Celestiq will start well north of $300,000 and will be hand-built to a degree, allowing for a high level of personalization. It will still pack plenty of technology, though, including a 55-inch dash-wide digital display and GM's Ultra Cruise driver-assist system.

Cadillac looks very luxurious and delightful. I enjoy the comfort it gives and the technology the most. Its very beautiful and simple yet evolutionary. I love the sleekness each model gives. It is so much different than others. Such as one is made for families while others may be made for romance or business. I do not often contain passengers in my car but when I do my guests seems to love it. My model may only carry 5 passengers but overall its great. The GPS is great and it gives such accurate information. I never get lost anymore. The speakers are crisp and clear and the airbags are regularly checked. I love how regular checks are free and so are the repairs.

I purchased a brand new Cadillac SRX in 2012. I have just a little over 50,000 miles and already I need an alternator which is costing me a little over $600. Someone should be responsible other than myself. Theres always a recall on these cars. I think as much as they cost the warranty should be longer and your parts should not go out as quickly as they do. A brand new car that has only been driven 52000 miles and your alternator is going out. GM should be responsible all the maker of the alternator.

I purchased brand new Cadillac Xts in 2016, after being a proud cadillac owner if several prior vehicles. From day one, this car has been a nightmare! When it was delivered the paint was messed up and it took so long to repair I made my first payment before I received the vehicle (paint still not perfect). It was so bad a cadillac rep had to come view it. My car since day one has occasionally shook when being crunk. The check engine light would immediately pop on, but when car was restarted it would go away. I was told several times by the dealership that they could only fix it if the check engine light stayed on.There were other issues as well, We were told by the General Manager not to worry. Cadillac would do a buyback and gives us 10% off of msrp of a new Cadillac. The dealership has since closed, getting Cadillac to do the right thing seems to be a nightmare! We have been dedicated Cadillac owners and never had a prior issue, this is extremely disappointing!

Cadillac had a few styles to choose from sedan, sub, etc... The options and abilities are the best way Cadillac varies from other vehicles. Their design clearly demonstrates superior vision in luxury automobiles. The car I bought looks very modern, but classy. Its very roomy and comfortably sits 4 men for trips across the state. It is not a boat like the old Cadillacs, but still is very comfortable to travel in. It looks best in black in my opinion and the interior is beautiful. There are so many options to personalize Cadillacs. Obviously you can pick the body style that fits the look that you want. Then you can choose from a variety of colors and interior options that are not available in most other vehicles.

When I buy a Cadillac it usually is a Coupe or a Crossover. Some Coupes they make are the ATS OR ATS-V models. Then for Crossover they make a XT5 Crossover and a Escalade/ESV. Ive purchased the ATS. The car usually is very well made. The ride was always smooth, engine was quieter. The seats are leather so its a very comfortable ride. And it usually had a royal color in the inside like a nice wood. You can alter it by changing the wood and spray color or the cars color. Some have a clock in them and nice back up checkers. If you dont like the radio in it you can go buy one that you do like and install it yourself. Its like a regular typical vehicle four seats with a middle one in the back but some crossovers might have more seats.

I love the Cadillac SRX car. It rides nice, is very luxurious and affordable. It has a touchscreen control display, leather interior and a panoramic sunroof. Its American made and uses flex fuel which is cheaper and better for the environment. It also has a great stereo. However, it doesnt have air conditioned seats and it doesnt get great gas mileage. Im not thrilled with the color choices and would prefer more choices. It doesnt have a built-in DVD player as well.

Nothing beats a Cadillac. Smooth looking and feeling, and powerful. 300+hp v8 gets up and going like nobodys business. Remember the last time you were in a boat? I do. The last time I drove my caddy down the street. Comfortable ride. Plush leather seats, white wall tires, wood trim and no corners are cut. Imagine being the only person in a city bus. This is how I feel riding around in my caddy. If you take people with you they will feel like that also.

I have severe scratch/scuff marks on my black SRX 2012 from the door moldings rubbing against the paint on inner door frames. This happened within three months of owning the vehicle. The dealer in consultation with GM engineers tried to soften the moldings using Kry-tox lubricant and polished the existing scratches out. Within 3 weeks the problem is back.I am now in discussions with main GM office for a more long term solution. They are suggesting 3m tape but this product peels and yellows over time and I feel this is just a band aid solution. The company that does this in my town stated this to me as well. They have not agreed to putting new weather stripping on, which may not be the solution either. But they have commented that this design flaw will be addresses with future models. Great, but this does not help me...! I dont know what the answer is, but they do not appear to be that worried that I am disappointed in paying big bucks for something that is not the quality that they lead customers to believe they are paying for.If anyone has this vehicle, please check this as it is not that apparent on lighter color vehicles. I also had rust already on the cross bar under the grill, and this had to be repainted as it comes from the factory with just a coat of primer! The dealer said not many people would notice this issue but check it out. Please comment if you have had any of these concerns. Will never buy another based on this experience. You are paying for the name but not the quality, and this is not fun!

Our government should have gone after GM for allowing them to produce an engine that has leaked thousands of gallons of oil on our nations highways. This engine is an inferior design & GM should have been held responsible. This is a common problem with all GM Northstar oil leaking Engines and there was never a recall. GM never attempted to correct the oil leak problem. When it was new the sticker price on my 1996 Cadillac was approx $45,000. My 1997 Ford Explorer went for approx $23,000 & it doesnt leak a drop of oil. Shame on you General Motors!!!

Love my car but hate the radio or cue system. From the first year we bought this car the screen on the radio would freeze up. But after a day or so it would be ok again. Not sure why it would work again but happy it was working. Then this past month it froze up and we have tried everything to fix it. Just called the local Cadillac dealer and they said it is common but my warranty is out and it could cost anywhere between 1500.00-2200.00, yikes!!! There should be a recall on this radio system because I have read many reviews this past month while trying to figure out why mine wasnt working.

Cadillac is a prestigious car and a dream to drive! I love the driving experience. I recommend the Escalade due to the luxurious interior and the smooth ride! I love the rear camera and the sound system! Love the XM radio. Also, the passenger capacity is wonderful. The passengers can plug their own system, which helps when you have kids. The passengers are comfortable and they can also either cool their seats or heat them up! It is one of the quietest rides ever. If you ever get a chance to just ride in one, you will never want to leave the vehicle.

I had a 2013 Cadillac ATS which I absolutely loved at the beginning. I recently had an issue with my car that had to get towed to a GM dealership where it sat for nearly 3 weeks because they couldnt figure out how to program it. Then I had to get it towed to another GM dealership where it cost me over $1,000 just for the tow. I reached out to Cadillac about this and after 2 weeks they said they can give me a $300 gift card. This Gift Card is only available to a certified GM dealer. WHY the HELL would I buy another vehicle from you when your own technicans cannot program a simple FOB, let along poor client appreciation. Cadillac may used to be Luxury and Client appreciation but not anymore. I would highly recommend another dealer who if there are any issues they will be there to help not push you aside.

So far I have had nothing but problems with my 2009 CTS. Ive gotten to the point where I absolutely regret even seeing it for sale on the lot, I wish I had bought ANYTHING else. I bought the car last year with around 80k miles on it. The first thing that should have been a sign that their customer service was in the toilet was when my local Cadillac dealer did a $100 oil change for me. They failed to attach the rock shield to the bottom of the car and after it tore off sounding like all hell breaking loose in their lot, they blamed me for my car missing a screw.. underneath... like I daily check those screws. And if it was missing why the heck did it stay on the car until they worked on it? My car is still naked under there. Thanks Cadillac. After a month of having the car I get the check engine light. I connect to OnStar who tells me my Auxiliary Water pump is going out. $250 later thats all better. After two months my rear door locks stopped working, I called the dealer and gave up when I was quoted $400 in labor alone. Fast forward another two months and now my car consistently overheats. Additionally I got that bad water pump code AGAIN (gosh those things are made well) - $250 AGAIN and its all better. My Daytime running lights go on and off randomly, one at a time. I look so great in my car. No one even has a clue as to why this is happening. Now my Forward adaptive lighting has started to malfunction. The passenger side bulb has turned completely purple, which sounds cool but none of the other ones are. I didnt mind replacing it myself so I started looking into it. So I have to remove the entire front of the car to change the headlight. OK no problem, Im no Einstein but I can handle some screws right? That wouldnt be a problem if I could find the bulb.I contacted Customer Service and they were anything but friendly. I tried to get help finding out where to get the bulb, but the guy copied and pasted me a bunch of website addresses that I had already searched to no avail trying to find the headlight assembly. Then asked me what I was hoping to get from contacting them, what an **. I just WANT A PART NUMBER. WHY IS THAT SO HARD?At this point Ive decided I HATE my car and Cadillac in general. I thought they had really shifted gears, and I really enjoyed my older V which is why I bought this car, but boy howdy this is the biggest piece of junk Ive ever owned. So now I have a 2009 Cadillac that I cant lock the doors on or drive at night, and Im scared to take it out of town because Im afraid the mystery auxiliary water pump will strand me. Im borrowing a friends 2000 Toyota to make my trip. Is this really the new Cadillac? I feel duped, tricked and stuck with this thing. If anyone from Cadillac happens to see this, Id love to know where to get that bulb. Im visually impaired in one eye so having two headlights would be great. Let me know.

We have enjoyed our Cadillac SRX, but have the headlight fogging issue. We were out of the country when they issued the recall but missed it when we came back. They stated basically that we were out of luck. Earlier this year they offered $200 towards a $1200 repair bill to replace both headlight assemblies. We cant see with the headlights on low beam and have to place them on high beam. In checking with Cadillac today they are standing by their offer. We will not buy another Cadillac and will be telling anyone we encounter that is looking to purchase a luxury car to stay away from Cadillac because of their lack of support. I have had much better success from Lexus and Ford with issues like this. I will stay with these brands.

I have a 2013 ATS with 85k miles. 2.0 L turbo engine blew. Worked with Cadillac customer cares for three weeks to try to get something covered. Assigned an advisor “Shaneva”. I called several times over a three week period, escalating to a supervisor twice without so much as a return call. Finally after 3.5 weeks Saneva called me back to tell me I have to pay 3.2k for a replacement engine. This is a premium vehicle only 5 years driven and barely paid off that needs a new engine and the company will not cover. Poor customer service (no return calls sent to voicemail multiple times, escalated to supervisor 3 times without return call); shoddy product (multiple TSBs on blown 2.0 L engines, known defect); even though a known defect they still don’t stand behind their product. I was once an engineer for GM, both parents retired from GM, and I have purchased or leased a dozen GM vehicles but this ATS is the last. I will now be paying the 3.1k, drive it a while and go look at Mercedes and BMW.

I have a 2011 Cadillac SRX. My check engine light started coming on back in Jan of 2016 and going out on and off for three months. I had auto zone check codes. They was po171 & po174. I looked them up on the computer technical description system too lean (bank2) po171 & po174. Very similar auto zone description, said too much oxygen in exhaust so I change two O2 upstream sensor light, still on then po174 mean mass air sensor light still coming on & off. I had the dealer here in Merrillville in. They had my car all day and told me I needed to replace all 6 injector $2500. I told them to close my hood and I was picking my car up. I do all my work myself so everyone having check engine light I started to check myself. The problem was replace. The evaporative emissions purge control valve price $ 41.47 when I installed the light went out. That valve will make your car run bad, make your trans shift funny on my car. The purge valve is right behind the throttle body. I hope this will help someone having check engine. If someone need help email me. PS I purchase my SRX new in Aug 2011. I only got 65000 miles and I service my car regular and the dealer said I needed new injector. I knew that was a lie. The dealer are out to rip you off.

I purchased a 2006 Cadillac CTS in May 2010. Since the purchase, I have had several car repairs resulting in thousands of dollars. I make sure that I receive regular oil changes and follow recommendations for Mobil 1 oil only. I have to purchase approximately 6 to 8 quarts of the oil to add to my engine between oil changes. I had my mechanic assess the vehicle and there are no leaks. The car simply drinks oil. This is quite an expense since an oil change is approximately $100 and a quart of Mobil 1 oil is $10 a quart. This is simply unacceptable. I have read many complaints where people have lost their engines over oil consumption. Its simply not fair to the consumer to have to bear this expense for a product that is supposed to be trusted. In addition to this, I am putting brakes on my vehicle (front and back) twice a year. This is unheard of. There needs to be some accountability and responsibility for the makers of this vehicle.

I bought a new 2011 Escalade ESV. The rims are rusting and flaking, and the chrome trim package is rusting. Cadillac and the dealership’s response is that its from chemicals put on the road and its not their problem. My Escalade never is dirty. When I drive on snowy roads, its washed immediately. In 45 years of owning vehicles, Ive never had a vehicle with rust problems. I bought an $82,000 Escalade. I have rust issues and I have lived in snow country all my life so I know all about chemicals on the roads. This is my last Cadillac. Dont make the same mistake I did. Stay away from Cadillac. I have a 2009 Cadillac SRX AWD Sport (top of the line!). The sticker was for $52,170. It is the most expensive piece of crap I have ever purchased. But I am stuck with it because the CARFAX and Repair history, basically, makes it non-tradable or sellable. This car has been in the shop about every 2 1/2 weeks over the 2 years I have owned it. 46 issues have been fixed or replaced. I called Cadillac Customer Service for help. I was assigned a District Rep, who does not call me back, and never answers his phone when I call. He has been dodging me for over a month now. I want my B2B warranty extended to cover the stuff that keeps falling off, because I only have 3k miles left on the factory B2B, and the extended GM warranty does not cover things like trim, vents, handles, doors, etc.The district rep said When you make as many cars as Cadillac, some of them are not going to be perfect and then proceeded to get me to hang up the phone. I have not gotten to speak with him since. I guess, once Cadillac has written you off, you are dust to them. The dealership has been wonderful but GM/Cadillac, not so much. Some of the things had to be argued to get it fixed.

Cadillac SRX: Very pretty SUV, handles good. However, acceleration is not so good. The problem is when you need to accelerate quickly you cannot. It takes the computer a few seconds to know that you need some power before it kicks in. I ask dealership about this, they said that is normal. But its risky and that hesitation has almost caused problems more than once, so now I know its just a doggie SUV. Last one Ill buy.

Lots of option choices to customize your experience. Highly recommend getting something you will use or just something you think is cool and will love. Highly recognizable from a distance. Sets this car apart from most. You can fit more people comfortably in this car than youd think. Its a full size car with plenty of leg room for driver and passengers. Standard features are incredible for any brand of vehicle but options are even better. The standard package alone is enough to want this car but add options to it and its unbelievable. Stereos, wheels, GPS, etc. The list goes on forever. Look up a dealer online and check it out. Go for a test drive! You wont regret it!

I have a 2015 Cadillac CTS and it’s been nothing but problems once I passed 65,000. The rear differential began to go out around this time. Also the CUE in dash screen began to crack internally around 74,000 miles. Both are very expensive items to replace. Cadillac only offered to pay for 40% of my differential repairs even though the differential began to go out under warranty. Also the CUE screen is no longer under warranty. This is my first car where I need to have 2 major repairs and the car is under 100,000 miles. SMH.

I purchased a Cadillac ATS in April 2014. Within one month it developed an extreme odor from the ventilation system. Went to the dealer in July 2014. They minimized the odor, it returned with a vengeance. In July I had my 4th visited where they implemented a Service Bulletin for the odor. Apparently there are many people with stinky Cadillacs. Within 2 weeks the odor returned worse than ever. I called the dealer and they advised they would contact Cadillac Engineering. I wrote to Cadillac who sounded sympathetic, but no real response for a remedy to my extreme problem. The problem comes from mold forming in the ventilation system. I am concerned about potential health issues as the air is very bad. Has anyone else had the same problem where Cadillac made a successful repair?

Do not ever buy a Cadillac. I am on my second SRX, the first was totaled and was the standard model 2011. I upgraded to a 2015 and was excited about the luxury features. Heritage Cadillac in Cobb County sold me a vehicle with a frozen CUE screen and luckily I caught it and they replaced it immediately the day after I drove it off the lot. Then I slowly realized my headlights werent working properly over the following months. They seemed too dim but they were on. Finally after the second time somebody almost hit me at night I knew something was amiss. I googled and sure enough, lawsuits and complaints! I will never buy another GM car and I am beyond disgusted that a dealership would knowingly sell me a car with faulty parts without disclosing the information beforehand! I cannot WAIT to get in on this headlight class action lawsuit! Buyer Beware! Once GM agrees to pay for these lights Im getting them fixed and trading it in for a Mercedes!

In April 2006, I purchased Cadillac STS V8, 1G6DC67A760130685/130685, from your Agent in Oman (Oman Technical Establishment). The navigation system was out of date and the TV reception was very poor. We took the car to the agent for repair. Unfortunately, they were not helpful and their reply was unsatisfactory. They told us that the TV reception is poor in all STS model and that they have no solution to it. With regard to the navigation system, they told us that we should pay considerable amount for updating it. The car was returned to us.At the beginning of May 2012, the audio system in the car stopped working. We took it for repair. Unfortunately again, the agency told us that they do not have a technician to repair it. Instead, they would send the car to Dubai to get the audio system repaired there and it would take 3-4 weeks to get it back. We asked if the agent will give us a car for our usage during the period of repair, but they refused. The car was returned to us. Navigation system, TV reception, and audio system are not working in our car. The agent did nothing to get our complaints solved. How can a GM sole agent in the country without a technician to repair the audio system and TV reception?

On the 2011 CTS, the car had a cracking noise as I back up and turned left or right. This has been since I purchased the car. I know I gave them too much time and now they are now saying it is out of warranty and will not fix it. The Cadillac STS 2009, the rear right has a high pitched sound that the GM rep stated was a bearing noise and I have been told since I bought it that it was the tires. I know that it couldnt have been. I have had 3 different sets put on it and still had the noise, and now it is out of warranty.

On October 22, 2018, the CUE system on my 2016 Cadillac SRX, serial #3GYFNCE35GS548248 malfunctioned. The car had approximately 30,000 miles on it when I took it in to Myrtle Beach Chevrolet-Cadillac, in Myrtle Beach, SC, for repair. After they began the repair, they observed that I had drilled a hole in the rear of the storage compartment which is below the CUE screen & informed me that warranty would not cover the repair because I had altered the unit. They were very nice, and I am aware they have rules to go by, but this hole touched no wire or circuit board. The malfunction was not due to the hole I drilled in no way, but it was a defect in the CUE unit. There are forums all over the internet discussing the problems that Cadillac is having with the CUE system. On October 22, 2018, I contacted Cadillac Customer Service and talked to Shenevia, who set up case **. She told me she would be back in touch with me in seven days with a decision. She called back approximately ever seven days, telling me a decision had not been made, and on November 15, 2018, she called and told me that Cadillac had denied the claim. I do not agree with their decision & I do not think it was a fair & honest, because the hole I drilled had nothing to do with the malfunction of the CUE system. It is common knowledge that the CUE system has been a problem since day one! If I had drilled into a wire or circuit board, I would not be writing this letter. I could understand if Cadillac had paid for the repair, but billed me Core Charge, but I feel it is not an HONEST decision for the claim to be denied. Cadillac is using a small technicality to avoid paying for their mistakes!I have been a GM person all my life and always respected their reputation, but this case makes me wonder. I owned a Chevrolet Dealership in North Myrtle Beach, SC from 1981 until 1991 & presently own a 2017 Corvette, 2014 Cadillac CTS, and a 2016 Cadillac SRX, and I am aware that my business is like a Pea in the ocean! Sometimes COMMON SENSE should be an exception to rule! I would really appreciate you reviewing my case again.

I bought a 2009 CTS top of the line model in March of this year 500 miles after I left the dealership the check engine light came on. I put it in Levis Cadillac in Slidell, LA, for two weeks they had it and said that it was a problem with the coolant area of the car and that they had fixed it. Well in two weeks the light came on again, GUESS WHAT, the same problem. OK back to the shop I go, this time it was the end of April and they had the car for (three) weeks. I picked the car up in or on May 20th drove out the service dept. I went 25 miles, THE LIGHT CAME AGAIN !!! So I finished my business in New Orleans, LA and took it back to the Levis Cadillac. They said they would call Cadillac Technical for help. They told them to replace the same parts as before and it should be fixed. It has taken them and Cadillac until yesterday which was JUNE 25TH to so called fix the car. I picked it up at 10:30 - got on the Highway to go to the VA Hospital in New Orleans. NOW THIS IS THE PART I JUST CANT BELIEVE, THE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN on my way to my doctors appointment. When I got done at the V A I drove straight back to the dealership service department and they said they would be happy to look at but its the same problem, OH MY GOD. Could someone help me out. I bought this Cadillac CTS and have only put 750 miles on it since. The car only has 46,058 miles on it! I feel like a total jerk. Ive owned 5 Cadillacs and I also own a 06 STS4, and I have had all kinds of problems with it. Well I think its time for me to reevaluate my GM LOYALTY. This sucks.......

2011 Cadillac SRX Luxury Collection Delegance - Anyone who buys this year/model car should beware of the issues. I was fortunate enough to unload this car and I couldnt be happier that I am rid of it. It was in the shop at least once a month after the warranty was over. I could not afford to keep taking it to the mechanic for one thing after another and there are no decent warranties available to cover it over 60k. I drive a lot (obviously its a 2011 and it had over 70k when I got rid of it). Cadillac should offer a much longer warranty if they are going to sell a crossover or any other vehicle that needs repairing as much as this. There is no piece of mind with this car. The navigation was always broken and the pop up screen is a joke. The starter was fixed twice, the water pump was bad, the belts were bad, it overheated constantly, it was making thumping noises toward the end so I knew the transmission was about to go. If Cadillac considers elegance as waiting for another tow truck, then they did a good job. I couldnt wait to get my new Land Rover but I dont think I will ever get out from under that Cadillac.

I purchased a Cadillac SRX and was very excited at the time. Little did I know I was fixing to have regrets. Cadillac used to have a great reputation but not anymore. I have a car that only has 49000 miles. Bought it brand new and its been in service dept 3 times each time for a week for their poor craftsmanship. They could care less how long you go without a vehicle. Will not provide a loaner. I know friends with a Lexus, BMW get loaners and treated like they care. The problem is Cadillacs faulty design in the sunroof water cant drain properly so it runs into the car shorting out electrical. This happened not once but twice. Now I cant see at night unless my lights are on bright because of anther faulty design. Headlight covers retain moisture and become faded and cloudy. A class action lawsuit is ongoing but they are telling me I have to pay $1000 out of my pocket. I dont Think so. When I wreck because of this a lawsuit will be placed on Cadillac. They cant pick and choose who they will take care of. As Im typing this my car sits in the service dept while they dont care. Johnson motor co wont even call back. I may as well bought a cheap piece of **. It wouldnt have been any worse but better. I wouldnt have paid as much to be SCREWED!

Red cars are the best. Has a nice big stereo. However, it will need a lot of work like nicer, better, big wheels, more windows, and a different color would be nice and a better stereo, long distance and more miles. 2003 Cadillac CTS - The plastic covering fell off without my knowledge, I didnt know when or where. When inquiring about repair at the dealer, I was told it would cost $900.00. I know this is a widespread problem especially with the older Cadillac CTS, as I have read other complaints and been told by mechanics this is a design flaw. We presently own 2 Cadillacs and have purchased 5 within the last 10 years. As a loyal GM customer for 20 years, we are dissatisfied that there does not seem to be a practical solution to this seemingly widespread problem for CTS owners, other than replacing part of the trunk. Why cant GM or my dealer (Labadie) make the plastic covering available so anybody can just glue it back in position? Its not rocket science, its just a piece of plastic that was glued on.

Poorest customer service I have ever received. Totally not helpful and not there to meet customers needs or satisfaction. After waiting for my Escalade for 4 months with a issue with the transmission, on the third time around picking my vehicle up the engine blew at 60000 miles 10 miles from the dealership and transmission still not fixed. Four months later vehicle was returned, after a new engine and still has transmission issues, touch screen is bad, cruise control not working and drivers assist warning on. I had to fight for a loaner for warranty work! Which was given a equinox, nowhere in comparison for 3.5 months. Was told by Cadillac was basically my problem to deal w the dealership and I could go rent a vehicle to meet my familys need of a 7 passenger vehicle but would only reimburse 42 dollars a day for a week only.I also was told by one of their customer car advisors that it was basically my problem and if they were to have the same issues she would be in the same shape. Total lie. Payment reimbursement was discussed then denied after I had to do all the grunt work to get the warranty work order and submit for which they had multiple contacts with the dealership and were well aware what was going on. Worst experience ever and will not own another Cadillac in my lifetime. Would highly not recommend buying a Cadillac. They are junk and way overpriced. Encountered multiple people with the same transmission issues along with GM has a class action lawsuit against them for the transmission problem my vehicle has/had. I got rid of it ASAP!

Beware New Purchasers for GM Manufacturing of Cadillacs. We purchased our new CT5 in 2020. Our brakes started squealing from day one after driving it off the lot. Going on 2 years now and the brakes on the car continue to squeak so loud it is irritating! We sound like we are driving a school bus and it is so embarrassing as people stare at us everyday. We have taken it to the FWB dealership 3 times and each time we’re told cannot duplicate. The last time I brought videos and FWB did submit them to Cadillac customer care and the engineer stated it was normal operations? The reason it is normal is because GM has changed the composite material to save money on brake pads. Now you get squeaking brakes with your new car purchase!I contacted Cadillac customer care and was advised to get a second opinion. I took the car to the Pensacola dealer and got the same result and explanation. We know it is not the dealers fault that GM will not support their product! Nevertheless, the service departments are taking the negative hit for GM’s lack of customer satisfaction. Only after I would not give high marks did I start receiving calls from Cadillac pretending to care and gathering the same information time and time again with the promise of a call from a supervisor. The call never came! I certainly did not want to post this but GM simply does not care about the purchaser of their product once you have purchased. I have driven GM autos for 43 years but never again after this. All I want is my brakes to stop squeaking and GM is too cheap to even allow a replacement set to be put on. Maybe because squeaking breaks are now normal operations for GM autos now as stated by the GM engineer. I say replace them and let’s see. But again I am just your average car buyer not anyone with influence to be treated fairly by GM.

My parents have owned many older model Cadillac and had great experiences, other than any repairs are expensive. I bought a 2012 SRX used with low mileage. My repairs now on this money pit are just under $10,000. One of the problems is a particular code that is not specific to a problem but rather has a list of possible problems to be fixed. They just go down the list and keep fixing and charging you until the problem is resolved. That code has cost me about $5000 now and still not fixed. They have given me discounts on parts at times but this is still unacceptable expectations coming from such a top brand car manufacturer. Other problems, back up camera, air conditioner, oil leak...I will not buy another Cadillac and will sever my ties with the brand this week!

Two criminals broke into my garage and stole my locked Cadillac CTS with ease. My wallet, purse, license, more than ten credit cards, and many other items of value were in the car, and still, havent been recovered. I called the police and was told that the car would stop in about a half mile. That was not the case. They stopped to get snacks and completely trashed the car, before going on a joyride in circles across town. The police ended up finding the car, one of the criminals was found, the other took off with my purse, which contained once again, my wallet (which contained more than two hundred dollars.), around ten credit cards, both my drivers and military license, and many others valuables. They also found meth in the car. Wonderful. When we spoke to the police about the incident, they had no words. They told us to go straight to the manufacturers about this, as they were clueless how this occurred. How my Cadillac CTS was able to drive OVER fifty miles without keys! When we spoke with the man who broke into the car, he didnt even know how it worked. Meaning that the car drove without any help. He was charged with theft, breaking and entering, and possession of narcotics. he dropped his partner off somewhere before he was caught, we told him we would drop some of the charges if he gave her, and the money up, but he wouldnt budge. His partner is STILL missing with all of my belongings. I would NEVER recommend this to friends or family, or anyone really. After doing research, I have found that this is not the first time that a Cadillac CTS has driven without keys, allowing criminals to get away with thousands of dollars, and other important items. On sat, digital and WiFi, on star cruise control, anti-lock brake systems, back-up navigation, GPS, a rd and American quality that far extended and exceeds. Love the way it steers and the smooth driving experience. Can hold a lot of stuff... a trunk that could hold a elephant. It is a electrified experience and the make of it lets more people fit into her.

I purchased a 2013 Cadillac ATS in 2014 with 11,000 miles on it. I wish I had read about the problems with the Cue system freezing up. I now have that problem, mine is frozen. I called Cadillac and complained about it, case # ** and asked if there was any recalls on this. I spoke to Ashley on 1/17/18 and she said that I should take it to the local dealer to see what the problem is. I told her that I did not want to pay 100.00 for someone to tell me that it needs replacing. Ashley told me that I may get some help from Cadillac to replace the unit. I dropped the car off on 1/25/18 for my 10am appointment, it took all day for the dealer to look at the car and in the end they told me that it needed to be replaced at a cost of 1479.00 and gave me a bill for 143.81.1/29/18 Spoke to Ashley at Cadillac and told her what transpired and told her I was not happy. Ashley said that she would look into it and get back to me within 72 hours. On 2/6/18 I finally received a call from Ashley at 10:31am at the time I could not talk and that I would call her back in an hour or two. I called back at 12:26pm left message to call me. On 02/7/18 Ashley called back and told me there is nothing they will do for me. I told Ashley that after owning many Cadillacs over the year and that we have two Cadillacs now, that I will never buy another Cadillac.

Great aesthetic and styling. Excellent road manors, handling, and ride. Very solid power deliver and road control in harsh weather. Excellent interior with comfortable fit and crafting. Rotten reliability. Official Cadillac Certified repair is a joke and a complete scam. Leaking sun roof. Issues with alternators and electrical. A lot of recalls. 2010 SRX Cadillac had wet rugs in back floor. Had repairs made to leaking sunroof, water also corroded back hatch lift... Replacement made ($1300). Next week engine problems... Car towed to dealer... Now water damage has shorted out, ruined fuel injection, plus whatever is controlled by module under front seat... GM knew the sunroof failure was a possibility but did not send any warning to customer so the roof could be checked occasionally. This failure of roof hoses, which Cadillac knew was possible has cost me, up to 6/24/17, over $3000. The dealer should have checked all areas that could have water damage the first time the car was in for sunroof repair. Anyway, I feel GM has mislead or failed to inform the SRX owners about a HUGE possible problem. WARNING TO CADILLAC OWNERS WITH SUNROOFS... CHECK FOR LEAKS OR CHANCE THE SERIOUS DAMAGE CAUSED BY WATER SILENTLY ENTERING YOUR CAR.

From color selection combined with interior combinations I was able to find just the right style that pleased both my spouse and I. The brakes fail without warning. When stepping on the brake pedal it will go to the floor with minimal slowing of the vehicle. The brakes need to be pumped quickly to get any pressure to stop the vehicle. I have 2 SRXs, a 2010 and a 2012, both have exhibited the same problem intermittently. Took both vehicles to St. Claire Cadillac in Santa Clara, California and they cannot find anything wrong with the vehicles. Diagnostics and brake system examination shows no failure. In my 2012 SRX I rear ended another vehicle due to the brake failure. There are multiple failures reported on the web for this same issue, when will Cadillac/GM acknowledge this safety issue? If there are other unsatisfied customers who have experienced the same problem perhaps we can file a class action suit.

I had submitted a review in June after having been told by Cadillac that I was SOL regarding the issue I had with the OEM tires on my 2017 XT5. Fortunately, I complained to my dealer and told them I wouldn’t be back after my lease was up. The dealer intervened on my behalf with Cadillac and shockingly, they were successful where I had not been....I received a check for full reimbursement for the Continental tires I replaced the OEM Michelin tires with. According to the lady with the dealership that handles warranty issues, there should not have been an issue with Cadillac refusing my claim as there had been a Bulletin issued regarding the problem with the tires!! So...I have a decision to make....I’m happy with my dealer, but still unhappy with Cadillac! I will at least consider another Caddy, but not a slam dunk for me like it once was! I will also consider others as well! Remember when you bought a Cadillac knowing you were buying quality? Not so much anymore. One would think the manufacturer would figure that out. Regardless, I felt I should tell “the rest of the story”!

I like the sub while my grandma enjoys the Eldorado. I have driven both and its a good car experience. The appearance is one of the best qualities of these cars. I mostly drive one because of brand recognition. Mine is an older model that is holding up well on the road. Sometimes I wish they got better mileage though. But I am very happy with this brands passenger capacity. I went to swim practice and picked up 8 kids. I never upgraded anything on my car. I think the factory installed parts are satisfactory. However, I would like to take a reciprocating saw and cut a new moonroof in the car of mine but it seems like too much work. I wish moonroofs were standard.

Dealer sent car to body shop for the following: Rear passenger door, passenger door, left front fender and bumper are all out of alignment. Comparing drivers side to passenger side, passenger side doors sag and gaps between trim and body lines clearly are misaligned. Cadillac quality control missed this or sent in on anyway. Customer service center declined to become involved past calling the dealership. Dealership isnt the problem, Cadillac quality is the problem. I watched it increase for 2 years and to prevent any rust from forming took it to Perfect Ten Auto Collision to have it repaired. Then I heard about this happening because Cadillac had used a lower grade aluminum around the hood that butts up to the hood paint. It cost me $789.61 to have this fixed. I purchased my 2013 Cadillac SRX Luxury 14 months ago, it was a one owner car and was purchased at dealership that originally sold it. I purchased an extended warranty for 2500. About 1 week ago my infotainment in my car froze, I am unable to use navigation or access anything in the main cue. Well I called the dealership and they told me to bring it in. I brought it in and the girl working there said it had to be replaced. She called the extended warranty and was told that the warranty did not cover the radio. I was upset to say the least. 1200 for a new cue to be put in plus labor. I told the dealership that the cue was more than a radio, it is the whole center that controls radio, satellite, GPS, navigation, weather, AC controls, etc. I told the guy at the dealership that I had down my research prior to coming in and that the infotainment cue in all models of Cadillac have had issues like mine since 2013. In all models CTS, SRX, Escalade and Crossovers. I think Cadillac should be responsible for fixing these since without that feature in my car it is not a luxury model.

I am a owner of a 2012 Cadillac SRX. My husband and I had started to notice our low beam lights getting dim to the point that driving at night is next to impossible without the high beams and we were trying to figure out how to come up with the money to get our vehicle’s lights repaired thinking it was just something that happened over time. Recently 02/24/20 we received a letter in the mail that GM was offering to reimburse customers up to 800.00 per headlight who had spent money out of pocket to get the issue corrected. Well my first thought was great we don’t have to worry about how we are going come up with the money because GM is acknowledging that this is an issue on their end and we could just take our vehicle to the dealership show them the letter and they would fix our lights. WRONG! When I called the dealership we were told GM would NOT pay upfront for our repairs although they are AWARE of the issues with the SRX’s headlights. They are only willing to reimburse after repairs are done which could cost the customer up to 1,600.00. So my question next was what if the customer cannot afford the expense upfront? GM’s answer was, SORRY WE CANNOT HELP YOU....I cannot explain how taken advantage of I felt, Shame on you GM. You acknowledge upfront the problem is moisture related issues causing headlights that you placed in these vehicle to fail but you will only reimburse those who can afford to have them fixed first on their own if then.... During research I read reviews where some people have been waiting months to get their money back. I am not sure what is going to happen in my case but for anyone reading this review please beware. It is unacceptable how GM treats its customers and their their regard for customer safety. I will NEVER purchase another vehicle from them!

I purchased a used 2014 Cadillac SRX Premium in February 2016 from a non-Cadillac dealership. It was the first used vehicle I purchased since 1999. But it was a Cadillac so how could I go wrong! Roughly one year later I noticed what appeared to be a blemish on the touchscreen. At first I thought the glass had cracked but determined the blemish was behind the glass. Seeing that the screen is sealed I had no idea how the blemish occurred. Needless to say over the course of the next few months the blemish morphed into what now looks like webbing. I took my vehicle to a Cadillac Dealership and the minute the Service guy looked at it he said it was a common problem with the Cadillac. After checking he found that because Id exceeded 50k miles it was not covered under warranty. Although unsightly the touchscreen still worked. Upon doing research on various message boards including the Cadillac Forum I found I wasnt the only person experiencing the issue with the webbing but I also read that eventually the touchscreen would stop working. Needless to say in October 2017 the touchscreen stopped working. I contacted Cadillac Customer via email only to be told I had to take the vehicle to a Cadillac Dealership for a diagnostic. I respond that I had in fact done so in July and attached the receipt to show info screen is spider webbing from inside. Cause: Spider webbing on center stack. I received a response via email that I had to take my vehicle to a dealership within one month of notifying Cadillac. I was provided a Service Request Number **. So, I scheduled my vehicle again and provided the dealership with the reference number. Of course they found the issue was the same. I reached out to Cadillac with the information and received a response wanting me to inform Cadillac Customer Care what the dealership recommends should be done and I was also asked to provide my VIN. I respond asking what was the purpose of my providing a reference number to the dealership if Cadillac wasnt able to look up the information. I ended my email stating I would provide the information and that I also wanted the email address or phone number of their complaint department and or problem and resolution department. On November 8th I received an email from the Cadillac customer assistance team to state theyd verified with the dealership Id had a diagnostic done on my vehicle and that a Cadillac Senior Advisor would be contacting me within two days. I missed the first call on Nov ninth and the second call later that evening. The second caller was Jacob. Jacob left me a voice message to state he was calling on behalf of Ingrid and that Ingrid was out of the office for the evening and asked that Jacob give me a call. Since Jacob missed me as well he asked that I call Ingrid on Nov 10. I called Ingrid the morning of Nov 10th and left her a message. I also received an email from Cadillac Customer care wanting to know if my issue had been resolved in which I responded it had not but I hoped to connect with Ingrid sometime during Friday. At 3:08 pm I received a call from Sharae (not sure if I spelled her name correctly). Anyway I explained the issue after which she proceeded to tell me that unfortunately because I was over 30k miles pass 50k it was not under warranty and Cadillac would not be able to do anything to cover any of the cost. I explained that Id read different forums and it seemed to be a common problem and I referred to it as a defect. She commented on how people post things on the internet. I got the impression she didnt feel what people were saying carried any weight. She also went to tell me that my issue was cosmetic not mechanical. I explained it would be cosmetic if my screen had spider webbing and the touch screen still worked. However, since my touch screen was frozen thus unusable it was more than cosmetic. I also said that a Cadillac cost entirely too much money for this type of problem. She then asked if my vehicle had been purchased new or used which I answered used but still found her question offensive. I asked her who else could I speak to and she said that she was the highest level of customer care. She does report to a supervisor but that her supervisor would tell me the same information that Sharae had already told me. Since prior to our call shed informed me our call may be monitored I asked that she please email me a transcript of our call and she said she would. What I received was Dear Ms. **, Per your request, here is a summary of the final resolution for your 2014 Cadillac SRX CROSSOVER, case number **. Based on the age and miles on the vehicle and the concern being cosmetic we are unable to offer cost assistance on these repairs, this is the final decision. Cadillac does review each customer’s concern on an individual basis. All the facts in your situation were carefully considered, and we have determined that this decision is appropriate given the details of your case. Regards, Cadillac. Customer Assistance 1-800-458-8006. I still am researching to see if I can file a formal complaint on the Cadillac Cue to include the response from their highest level of what shed defined as Customer Care. It was more like dont care!

Cadillacs are the brand of many centuries, with lots of power, stability, accommodation, etc. Cadillac has so many models I cant even name, but they have great cars (selections) to choose from. Various upgrades of the Cadillac brands vary from which make and model you choose to drive, or maybe even just test drive, cause when you step foot into one, then the adrenaline rush varies by what you would want in any brand of this great, longtime brand, with lots of media speculation. The brands passenger capacity has the most capacity in the great Cadillac Escalade, so it all varies with the model you would ask for, you have to know what you want in this great company of cars, so the choice is yours, SUV or regular. The distinct appearance of a Cadillac goes to show you quality arithmetic, in every make and model of a Cadillac, especially Cadillac CTSs, in which I believe is 2015s best model on Cadillacs behalf... so there you have it--integrity with just about any Cadillac model, new or old. So go out and buy a new or used model today.

I just got off the phone with Cadillac and I have to say that it was one of the worst experiences that Ive ever had with regards to a vehicle I own. I first called Cadillac on Monday, October 9, 2017 and I asked to speak to a manager but the representative told me that one was not available and that one would call me back within 24 hours. The next day (Tuesday) I called again and received the same response. I called again on Wednesday and the representative was going to tell me the same thing again but I decided to explain my situation to her. I told her that I was in need of a vehicle repair because of bad parts that Cadillac installed in my truck when manufactured. The proof is in the attached image of a service bulletin. She then told me that she would get back to me after she investigated what could be done.So today Thursday I received a call from the representative, Alicia, and she says that because it was a service bulletin and not a manufacturer recall that nothing can be done. I stated to her that for there to be a service bulletin, there had to be many customer complaints experiencing the same issue so thats why the service bulletin was created to let the mechanics know that there are bad parts in my vehicle. She stated that because the trend of complaints werent big enough, a recall was not made. So my response was, how do you define how great of a trend a mechanical problem has to be before it is considered a recall? In my eyes it appears that Cadillac does not want to fork the bill for repair so they deliberately classified this mechanical problem as a low trend of complaints not worthy of an official recall so that they can pass the expense to the consumer.I totally understand their stance but is this fair to the average consumer to have to come up with thousands of dollars for a transmission related repair even if Cadillac knew that there were bad parts in my specific year/model of my vehicle? This is not morally right in my eyes and probably in the eyes of consumers that have been forced to pay out of pocket for similar situations. She asked me if it was ok to record the call at the beginning of the call in which I agreed. However I also took it upon myself to record the call as well and it is available for you to scrutinize if needed. My Cadillac case number is **. I truly hope that Cadillac can do the right thing which is to pay for repairs. Thank you for your time and hope to hear from you soon.

My wife and I recently rented a 2017 Cadillac XTS. We wanted to try it out before we bought one. Immediately after starting out we tried to use the CUE system and discovered that it is dangerous to use as it is totally distracting and takes your eyes off the road. It is very difficult to use the controls and activate them. I tried to plug my iPod in and it immediately froze up the system. It was extremely difficult to activate the A/C, heating and radio, stereo controls. This system is a complete failure and a deathtrap as it is dangerous to use. I hear as well that they are very prone to failure and not covered under the radio type warranty. What a failure for a car like a Cadillac where a person lays out high multi thousands of dollars. Cadillac needs to dump this system and replace it with one that this car should have. How disappointing. The car itself had adequate power but rode no better, braked no better or did it handle on curves and straight a ways any better than my 2010 Terrain. The seats were hard and uncomfortable on a long trip. As well the transmission did not do anything better than my 2010 Terrain. I expected a lot lot more from a Cadillac especially for the asking price but the car and the company did not deliver. Cadillac is asking way to much for this car and it does not deliver In conclusion we will not be buying any Cadillac of any kind and have decided to go with an Audi. We DO NOT recommend a Cadillac of any kind to any one.

This would almost be funny if it wasnt so sad. This is fundamentally a quality issue with a supplier or a product specification issue with Cadillac. Either way, to have something like this happen to a Cadillac and 3 of the 4 within 6 months, makes me question Cadillacs commitment to overall product quality. To make matters worse, when I called Cadillac and opened a case requesting some recompense, they simply offered the canned response: “off warranty, too old and too many miles for us to be concerned with.” Well, they may have gotten the benefit of the parts sales thru the dealer (this was almost $600/regulator), but I will not buy another Cadillac. Too bad, this was my 3rd.

They make several different cars from the Escalade and the CT6, CTS which are some of the best cars ever built in America and are very trustworthy. They are one of a kind cars that no one else could match in craftsmanship. They are strong and reliable cars with a sleek design and heritage that is very well beyond any other brands. Their upgrades are great to a already great car brand. Using them just makes the brand even better than any other models on the market. And most of their cars can hold 5 passengers safely.

I bought a 2016 Cadillac CTS in JULY 2018 at CADILLAC OF GREENWICH. THIS WAS CAUGHT ON VIDEO (DASH CAM, WITNESSES) was driving with my wife and my brother in a very TOURISTIC part of NYC (59th st and 5th Avenue). The car started emitting smoke and the hood went in complete flames. Thank god we came out of the car on time and the FIRE DEPARTMENT broke the hood and put out the fire. We were told that the damage even got to the gas line since gas was leaking and the brakes also stopped working. If the fire wouldn’t have been put out in 2-3 minutes we would’ve all exploded and many tourists (innocent bystanders) would have died. Mechanics are saying that the cause was because of FAULTY manufacturing inside of the hood. The Cadillac dealership washed their hands and don’t want to accept responsibility. NOBODY WANTS TO TOUCH THE CAR and I don’t have comprehensive insurance so they are useless. My car is considered total loss even though it wasn’t my fault, I was sold a faulty car. Cadillac of Greenwich promised to honor my warranty till 100,000 miles and it was “luxury” which was a lie, I have it all on text messages. The guy RAJ pressured me into trading my old ATS and telling me the New car was luxury and it wasn’t. I confronted him after I found out (a week of having the car) and all he said “oh sorry I thought it was luxury.” Since first day of driving off the lot, I’ve been having issues with the car, I went MORE than 5 times back to the dealership to fix many issues especially something with engine and transmission because the car was jerking. They “tried” to fix it but said that there’s nothing they could do.They were pressuring me so much to buy the car because it seems like they wanted to get rid of it. I called Cadillac customer service and they are just delaying everything. I’m hiring a lawyer and to sue them. I suffered loss and I almost died!!!! I have proof please contact me for more info. I have messages, Pictures, Videos, Witnesses. DONT EVER BUY FROM CADILLAC.

On June 11th, I visited the Cadillac dealership and informed the repair rep. Marissa the issues I was having with my vehicle. These included my speedometer, my fog lights, and lastly my radio. When I picked up my vehicle after spending $1,100 ($400 in labor alone), it still was not functioning properly. I promptly informed Marissa that my speedometer was not working and she said to return, which I did. She left me with the impression there was no extra charge since it was not correctly repaired originally. How was this missed since it was placed on diagnostics? Nevertheless, I was charged an extra $100 in labor, inconvenienced and dissatisfied with the outcome and decided to meet with service manager, Mr. **, for a better result in regards to the labor. The only thing he could provide me was a provision for the future but nothing for now. He even informed me that the speedometer was a recall issue that I never received and he could not or would not rectify this either. I am a long time customer of this dealership and am insulted by the way I was treated.

I purchased 2004 Cadillac SRX and thought it was a nice car. That has turned out to be the complete opposite. As of this writing, the car has only 90000 miles, the engine has been replaced, and for what my dealer said was a dropped valve. The radiator has been replaced, the transmission and/or its parts, and so many other problems that are too numerous to mention here. The car was towed in again last night with a bad water pump. The dealer said it is still under warranty and will cost me nothing, thus, being the good news. The bad news is the transfer case chain is slipping and is going to be 1,700.00 dollars. I thought, how much have I spent on that car? I called Matt, the service manager and he only said its a ridiculous amount of money. I suppose the bills on this car is well over what I spent buying the car 2-fold. I want to mention the $400.00 headlight and the $1000.00 plus radiator that got broken while fixing the engine, that I paid for. I have owned several Cadillacs and that my friend is about to change. I wish this to be over.
