I bought a used 2005 A4 convertible (Cabriolet 1.8T) with 48K miles on it. It now has 58K miles on it, and the TCM part on the transmission is faulty. I hear that this problem is common, yet Audi has yet to admit to their mistake. I doubt that I will be purchasing another Audi in my lifetime.

I purchased my first Audi A6 in May of 2018. It was a brand new 2018. I noticed two bubbles protruding from the right rear door and paint peeling beneath it along the internal surface structure. I called Audi and sent numerous pictures. I told them to take the car back and that I wanted a replacement. They refused to give me another car after it was determined that it was indeed a manufacturers defect. I was given two choices by them, to sue or get it fixed. I did not have the money to get an attorney so I was forced to fix a new car that was sold to me with defects. I will never again buy another Audi. Audi USA is horrible! The customer advocates are a joke. This is the worst experience I have ever had with buying a new car. Audi does not believe in Customer satisfaction.

Audi A4 2.0T - 69k miles and Im in the hole almost $8k!! Bought the car certified pre-owned with 32k miles. Keeping up with all recommended maintenance and caring for the car inside and out, this vehicle has been nothing but a lemon. Its been on a tow truck 4 times in 3 years. In the shop 6 times outside of regular maintenance. Cylinders replaced. Pistons replaced. A/c gone twice! I can go on... I dreamed of having this car, and now I cant get it sold quick enough. Going all American! Shame on Audi for poor design putting Turbo on a 4 cylinder car and straining the ** out of the engine causing parts to weaken faster for replacement. Overpriced car doesnt even hold value. Never again! That just explains why there is so much inventory of Audis for sale everywhere. People cant get rid of them quick enough.

I have been a proud owner of an Audi Q5, 2014 model from the fall of 2013 until 4 months ago when the “add oil” light turned on for the first time. Since then the light turns on every 2,000 – 2,500 km, more or less. My husband brought the car into the Audi Dealership in London, Ontario, Canada (the same dealership we bought the car from). After multiple investigations, we have been told this is something normal for this type of engine (Turbo 2.0L). Both my husband and I are Mechanical Engineers, car owners and avid car users and we’ve never seen or heard about this kind of “normality” with any other car we’ve owned (or not owned).Because the experts from the Audi dealership reassured us that “that’s the norm”, we decided to dig a little bit deeper and figure it out for ourselves. What we found out did frighten us indeed! The issue has been existent in 2009 to 2012 models, after many, many complaints a lawsuit has been issued and won by the Audi car owners. The problem they were having was identical with the one we are having. This proves that this isn’t the norm, it is a huge issue not resolved by Audi and the problem still exists. However, our request to be treated in the same way has been denied by the London Audi Dealership. This being said I am not very concerned about the increased cost of the oil (I could start adding the oil every time I fill up the tank with gas lol), however we don’t even need to be mechanically inclined to figure out that in not too long of a time the engine will completely fail. That’s going to be a very costly repair for an issue that wasn’t provoked by us, but it has been grandfathered through a bad design that perpetuates from one model year to another and very well hidden by the dealerships from the eyes and knowledge of the pranked customers (on their own big bucks, of course, not mentioning about the huge safety hazard they are being exposed to by being lied about the real performance of the car).I asked the Audi dealership, as well as their customer service representatives to put themselves in my shoes. I thought I was commuting to my place of work using a safe and reliable car, an Audi Q5, one of the best and safest SUV in the world as per all the advertising I’ve seen everywhere, just to find out that anytime its engine could die due to the continuous increase of oil leakage. I have been driving with the Damocles sword above my head since the “add oil” light turned off for the first time. I paid a full year salary on this car just to make sure I am SAFE. Beside scrapping it and buying another car (not an Audi, of course), what something else should I do?

Our family purchased a 2011 Audi A5 with 2.0 T engine. The Timing Chain (Tensioner) failed at 70,000 m. The engine head and pistons (predictably) are wrecked. The car was maintained according to the Audi schedule with the Dealer from whom we purchased the car. All the records are verified by the dealer. The standard warranty is 50,000 m. This engine/car has the Oil Consumption problem that precipitated the Class Action Suit. So, the car was used as designed, maintained as designed, - and it FAILED as designed! The failure is due to lack of lubrication of the Timing tensioner/chain. Something absolutely beyond the consumers control (beyond filling the engine as specified).4/5/15: The car is at the Dealership in Austin Texas - the Dealership says they have talked to Audi and both are trying to escape the manufacturers responsibility to fix the problem. It seems that the only (implied warranty) service to the customer that Audi will deliver is when threatened by a lawsuit (class action suit as prev). In summary: The engine was maintained as required; the car was used as designed; the consumer fulfilled all their responsibilities; the engine (built by a prior-respected engineering company) failed - beyond all control of the consumer within a small portion of the design life of the engine. How is it not Audis responsibility? Get decent Audi! Before another Class action suit gets kicked off.

I bought a used A3 Quattro with 2800 miles in 2015. The car handles and drives very well but only if it is not in the shop. I have about 69K miles and have already had a water pump failure at 55K and now have a Gear Shift Lever Assembly issue. At about 65K the car started giving me an electronic malfunction warning and told me to stop, place the car in park and call service. I had it diagnosed to this assembly and have been told the repair is about $1700. I thought the days of poor reliability were over. I guess not! This vehicle has engineered obsolescence and is only good for the 50K warranty. I advise not buying the A3.

I took delivery of an Audi A8L that I purchased from Audi of Fairfield (in Connecticut) on September 1, 2011. I already owned a BMW 5 series and another car, but neither had all-wheel drive. So I wanted to get the Audi before the first snow. I took delivery on Sept. 1 only to accommodate the dealer, Audi of Fairfield, who wanted to close the sale in time for an end-of-month bonus. On Sept 1, Audi was offering $3000 to BMW owners who purchased an A8, but you have to own the 7 series, not the 5 series. Six days later, on Sept. 7, Audi of America extended the offer to those A8 purchasers (like me) who own a BMW 5 series. Neither the dealer nor Audi of America feels the least bit obligated to extend the offer to me. If you bought a $20 shirt at a department store and it went on sale 6 days later for $18, there isnt a department store in America that wouldnt give you the $2. But it seems that when you buy a $90,000 Audi 8L from Audi of Fairfield and take delivery earlier than you needed the car to accommodate the dealer, neither the dealer nor the parent company will extend to you a $3000 rebate that you become eligible to receive only six days later! I want to sue the **, perhaps by claiming that their behavior violates the covenant of good faith and fair dealing that courts in most jurisdictions read into contracts.

Audi provides cars that meet the requirements for most people. They offer smaller vehicles such as the A3 and A4 that would be suitable for people looking for a luxury vehicle but who are budget conscious or live in a busy city with limited parking. They have the A5 and A6 for the midrange. If you are looking for a fully loaded full size sedan there is the A8 and S8 (more sporty). If you are into sports cars there is the R8. Audi also offers attractive vehicles. Their vehicles have classy styling and clean lines. They offer sporty options and their new vehicles feature full led headlights which is a great improvement over the old halogen lights. Also, Audi offers several color options and multiple trim options. Most people can find something that would suit their style; however, individuals looking for a clearly unique style or appearance might be a little disappointed. They have options in the different car size classes. Generally the vehicles are spacious and accommodating. The smaller vehicles will easily accommodate 4 adults with maybe a child in the middle in the back. Larger vehicles such as the A8 will easily and comfortably accommodate 5 adults.

In winter 2016 I have bought brand new 2017 Audi A4 Premium Plus for 47k. It was this new version with cool digital gauges and new technology. It was rather exciting. I was thinking at the time that this small luxury sedan was worth the money. Then in December 2020, I got the message that my car doesnt support any more Google maps and from December 31 will stop working. Really after 3 years my car is obsolete and exciting feature that I have chose this car for is no longer available. I have contacted dealerships right away to see if I can upgrade my car, but answer was no, and I should probably get a new or newer Audi in order to have that ability. So 4 years after I cough up 47k for this Audi and planning to keep it in the family for longer, this car lost one of features that was their top selling point. I had a numbers of Audi cars so far in my life A4, A6, Q5 and Q7. I can tell you one thing. I will never ever again buy a Audi. It is like throwing away you money for something that will be obsolete in 3-4 years. Really sad from company that I had a the time on top for my vehicle needs.

There were plenty of models for me to choose from and packages were varied. Also the pricing on models allowed me to consider different options. Many on site vehicles to test drive. Very sleek look. Regardless of the model they all were very well design. Loved the options of the interior. Leather looked great and tan leather was awesome. Also color variety was nice. Was excited to get heated seats and a navigation system for a great price. Seats an average amount of people. There was decent leg room in the back and the passenger seat allowed for quite a bit of room. Also enjoyed the mobility of the back seats.

I was sold an S4 Avant (V8) by Finchley Road Audi, UK, 31/8/2011. I paid 27,000 cash, it had a cracked grill, back window washer wiper did not work properly and 6 weeks later, I had put 4 new tires on it, had to pay for the grill to be fitted, parking sensors didnt work, got no history of the car for 3 months, I took it to Portsmouth Audi. They had to replace the back brakes as they were very dangerously low. Then on 9/3/2012, I get a letter telling me that Lombardi Finance owns my car. I feel that the locking system on my Audi is extremely dangerous and want to warn others. I was traveling away for the weekend with my 13 year old daughter and stopped to get something out of the boot/trunk - then closed the boot lid on my keys (absolutely my own fault). I was horrified to discover that my daughter was then locked inside the car, with no way to get out. There were tears and panic (from my daughter stuck inside - and me trying to look under control). We phoned a mechanic who came to assist, and it took a hammer to smash the window and get my daughter out - and an angle-grinder to get through to the boot to retrieve the keys. I was just happy that my daughter was now safe outside the car. I was really shocked that a driver could actually lock the car and the passenger would have no way to escape. I contacted Audi to let them know what happened and they were just dismissive. They said I could take the car into them for them to have a look at it and that they would charge me for the privilege. I now have a hammer in the glove compartment, just in case, yet I wont feel safe until I actually get a new car. Ill definitely be checking that it doesnt have the same locking system as my Audi. So dangerous!

I have a 2010 Avant 4 Audi wagon that has had persistent, unresolved issues from day one, up to the point that my car, at just 4 years old, is now mechanically failed unless a new engine is put in to the tune of $15,000. I have been meticulous with maintenance on this car. From day 1, oil consumption has been an issue - was told that it was within specs (a quart every 1,000 miles - really?) - until an oil/pressure test was performed, which my car failed. Piston/rings were replaced, which still did not ultimately resolve the issue. Lost complete power in the car while driving a highway speeds (no steering, no brakes, black dashboard - in rush hour traffic) - could have been seriously injured. Towed again to Audi, which many hundred dollars later was told the problem should be resolved, but cant guarantee the repairs. One month later, car shuts down again while driving, with alarms to turn engine off - low oil pressure. AGAIN, towed to Audi - told to replace camshaft bridge and replace oil pump (almost $2,000 MORE) - only to be told that the low oil pressure light continues to come on, and the only recommend now is to replace the engine to the tune of $12,000-$15,000. Which is ridiculous. The KBB street value is nowhere near what has been invested in repairs in this car. I was told We understand your frustration, but the only thing Audi (national) can/will offer is to double the customer loyalty discount IF I buy a NEW Audi from this dealer, and my car has little to no value without the engine. I am without a car, and cant get my car back unless I pay for the $2,000 that didnt resolve the problem. It seems reasonable to me that a car, built on performance and truth in engineering should last longer than 4 years, particularly when properly maintained as mine has been. Further, dependability in a car is an assumed concept that Audi touts in ALL their media. I would further expect BOTH Audi and the dealership to stand behind their cars, but all I get is We understand your frustration, and these issues are no fault of your own, though I have to pay for them. The service department admits that my car has a history of repairs way beyond the normal range for an Audi, but theres nothing they can, or will do. I clearly have a poorly engineered car, that cant be driven, and is virtually worthless. I CANNOT believe Audi (national as well as the dealer) wont stand behind a badly produced car, and rectify a bad situation.

We had a horrible experience with the Q7 TDI Diesel Buyback program (2012 Audi). The process was long, hard to figure out and not very customer service friendly. I felt I was treated like I did something wrong. All I did was buy a Turbo Diesel Audi. My family of 4 were left without a car for 3 days, before we had our buyback money to buy a new car as we only have 1 for all of us. Everyone was rude to deal with. They performed an oil consumption test which it failed. They said I had to replace the engine. Thankfully, I was 475 miles under the warranty expiration. From that point forward the car never worked properly. An ignition coil change, 3 issues regarding misfiring, repair work for several diagnostic codes. All in, on top of my $450 month payment & $6k deposit, I spent about an additional $10k repairing the car.Additionally Audi USA covered another $10k worth of work. Thats $20,000 worth of repair work over 4 years. A $1,000 bill every 10 weeks. At 130,000 miles I pulled into a parking lot, car was running fine (after a $1,300 repair bill the week before). I got out of the car and realized I forgot to grab something at another store. I immediately got back into the car and pushed the key in the ignition. It didnt start. Needed to have the car towed. The dealer tells me they have to rebuild the entire engine again.Audi USA called and left a message yesterday (Ive been without a car for 3 weeks now and had a loaner for all of 4 days) that the case has gone to the highest level and there is nothing they will do about it. They said if I have any questions I can call the case handlers direct number. Seems that direct number goes directly to a voicemail void that never gets checked because my phone calls have yet to be returned. Looking at the number of issues and similar complaints all over the web I am baffled that Audi refuses to take responsibility for their poor design and the numerous faults that continue to occur on this engine model.

I purchased my Audi S7 as a CPO at 49000 miles. The moment I received the car I noticed it had unusual shifting between 1st and 2nd gear, and how it behaves with just stop and go movement. It would be worst in stop and go traffic where the transmission would make a clunky noise and could be felt under the floor. So far they’ve updated ECM and Transmission Software, replaced Mechatronics, replaced multiple motor mounts and control arms ball joints etc, replaced weeping coolant and transmission fluid lines... and after being the 6th week in the shop currently they will replace the Dual Clutch and hope this solves the problem. This has already been my 4th time in the shop and the car has now spent over 60 days in the shop for the same issue. I’m even hesitant to take the car back anymore knowing how hard it was to battle a transmission problem from the start. It’s unfortunate all Techs only look for Fault Codes on a Computer when the problem can be a caused by a mechanical failure. At the end of the day, it’s not a shop foreman’s car, and he will never feel what you feel with the vehicle.

I was thinking of the words to describe my experience with Audi and the best word that I could think of is UNFORTUNATE. That is exactly how I feel unfortunate that I purchased an Audi. An Audi is a perfect example of the old adage all that is glitter is not gold. At first glance, the car is beautiful, sadly the most important component, the engine, is garbage and I cannot get the stain of the green from the stain of the fake gold off of my finger.I purchased a 2013 Audi A4 in May 2016. I had owned a Mercedes for many years and my car was totaled due to a flooding in my area. During this period, my car was great which led me to the delusion that all German cars would bring me the same level of service. Sadly, I was mistaken, very mistaken. Within two months, my car needed a replacement of the air condition. A few months later, the car required a water pump replacement. Well, you may be thinking no big deal. Wait, it did not end there. Within 6 months of purchase, my beautiful Audi needed an entire engine. Of course, according to the dealership and the warranty company, that was all my fault because I had failed to maintain the car. And, although I provided documentation that I had indeed changed the oil, that did not matter because after purchasing the car with 38,000 miles and driving it an additional 12,000 miles the oil in the car was so dirty that it caused the timing to shift. After contacting the manufacturer, the representative advised me that the car should be good for $10,000 miles. I advised her that I had it for only 6 months, her response, Well the previous owner must not have changed the oil. So, my advice to all is DO NOT PURCHASE AN AUDI. Not only is it poorly manufactured, they will only blame you for its poor construction. And, you will be stuck paying for a car note and a brand new engine. Thanks to this car I am further in debt. I wish I would have stayed with Mercedes. I HATE AUDI!!!

I went and bought a used B7 RS4 recently - 2007. I have owned multiple Audis over the years and this one takes the cake. I also took mine to Molle Audi in Kansas only to be told that they dont know how to handle RS4. First they said that clutch hose is bad - charged $500 and changed it. Problem persisted so I reported it back to them. Then they charged $900 to change slave cylinder. Problem persisted so I reported it back to them. Their manager said they would have to take transmission apart. I said if I wanted someone to randomly test whats broken, then I would have taken it to someone other than Audi dealership - back road shops.Cons: Very over-hyped. Yes they are amazing. But not when you have to spend serious amounts of money at each maintenance interval - belts, axles, brakes, transmission and engine mounts. Yes, there is a sensor in engine mounts. Get ready to spend some serious dinero. Carbon cleaning has to be done every 20k miles. This is not a Ferrari or Audi R8 or Aventador where I should have to take my car into maintenance for $800 every 20k miles. Of course, gaskets, manifold arm flaps and many other items come into play at the same time. This is a rare car. So dealerships never carry parts for it. If you need anything, it always has to be ordered leaving your car useless for days at the dealership. Even if they overnight it, it still takes too long. Not many can work on it. I took my car to two dealerships (Audi) and they told me bluntly that this is not an everyday car and they would have to consult with someone in Germany. I almost lost my footing. For a car with 420 HP, it sure isnt as fast as cars with 420 HP. An S4 with few bolt-ons becomes just as fast as this - I tested this at a 3.5 mile grand prix track. And they are half the cost. No A4 or S4 will give you a rush like this, but this thing requires constant maintenance where A4/S4 dont. Shoot me but I said it and I owned S4 before this. This is my third Audi and fourth German in the house. MRC shocks go bad and then you have to pay arm and a leg for it. Stock clutch has a problem. Look up transmission clutch issues on B7 RS4. Stock LUK clutch/flywheel combo goes bad after x number of miles based on driving patterns. Lads, this is a 8,200 RPM beast. Why did Audi screw up by using cheap parts? So if you are looking to buy a B7 RS4, make sure it will shift gears above 7,500 rpm from 2nd to 3rd and so on. Also, due to this issue, many RS4s are plagued with Transmission synchro issues - another $1,000 just in parts. Needless to say, resale value already isnt good. Add maintenance headaches to that. My car was in dealership garage more than it was in my own garage. Quattro system is great and has saved many lives. However, it is nothing close to Attesa on Nissan/Infiniti or the AWD system that Mercedes or what Land Rover has. In short, its nothing out of the ordinary. Look up car reviews and be the judge yourself.

There was a recall on oil consumption on my 2011 Audi Q5. I took it to the dealership to have them check and repair, as soon as I got the information. I did this every time the oil light went on. They put in oil, reported back that all was well. Then, at time before this last one, ran a test, said to come back in 1,000 miles. This last time, the oil light went on and I went to service. They ran tests, now Audi says that I need a complete piston job at 77,804 miles. This is a modern car, how is it I should need a engine rebuilt at these miles. If there were really problems with this model, it should be Audi that fixes the car. Why would anyone want to buy an Audi with this kind of engine and the inability to fix their cars.

Audi has build the Q7 2007 with the wrong gaskets around the moon roof. If you check the blogs they admit it but wont pay for the damage. It drains into the SUV and burns out the electric system. Gone are your MMI etc. It starts shorting your radio, tail light bulbs, and can burn out your battery. You will also lose your total dash. They want you to pay at least 1/2 so they have no cost. This should be a worldwide recall. What will happen when your electric goes out while driving. If you are starting to replace tail light bulbs. Its just the beginning. You can also see water marks on the front floor. Join in the fight for what is fair.

This is the worst car purchase I have ever made. The car is so small when there is another passenger in the car. I drove the 2017 Audi Q3, when I took a vacation. Could only fit 1 piece of luggage in the cargo area. The backseat is not roomy enough for a sardine. Horrible on gas. Can only use premium. I should have kept my Buick Enclave. That was a sweet ride!

Car was purchased in Toronto in mid Oct, 2018, driven to Naples, Florida in early November and parked in a condo garage 100 yards from the Gulf of Mexico with the passenger side exposed to winds from the Gulf. In mid January a braking issue was noticed when braking at highway speeds. Audi service determined that the issue was caused by rust on the passenger side brake rotors and advised that because this was a result of outside influences the repair cost would not be covered by the warranty. Does this seem reasonable when other equivalent cars parked in the same condo location over 8 years had not encountered the same problem?

Bought a certified pre-owned 2009 Audi A4 Quattro 2.0 in December 2010 and within two weeks the oil light came on. Brought it back for service, thought it was a simple oversight and that it had been fixed. Little did we know then how that yellow check oil light would come to dominate our lives, limit our use and enjoyment of the car, and empty our wallets. Within the first three years we had the car serviced so many times for excessive oil consumption that we finally took to the internet and found we werent the only ones with this issue. After 43,000 miles and countless service visits, we demanded that Audi rectify the problem and (because the car was still under warranty), they replaced the pistons and rings at no cost.Fast forward two years to December 2015, and, at 91,000 miles (just outside of warranty, of course) an ominous turn off engine immediately and check oil warning appeared on the dashboard. Brought the car in for service right away and found that the engine had a leaking intake manifold. Dealer replaced manifold at cost of $1K. One week later, check engine light went on. Brought the car back to Audi and this time, the water pump needed replacing (another $1K). A few days later, that ominous turn off engine immediately and check oil warning appeared again. Brought the car back YET AGAIN. Service department informed us that they had found metal shavings in the engine pan, indicating that engine parts were grating and the engine was compromised. They told us that we needed an entirely new engine, at a cost of almost $11,000!! We were livid. Dealer went to Audi North America and they offered to pay for half. Now we are stuck with a dead car and the prospect of having to pay another $5300 (for a total of $7300 since December) to make what is now a lemon drivable. We believe that Audi should take full ownership of this, as they replaced the pistons and rings on an engine that they knew was faulty. And, we are left wondering if the replacement of the intake manifold parts somehow compromised the engine, resulting in the engine failure (the timing of the engine failure was just a bit too coincidental). We bought this car for what we thought was exceptional Audi performance, reliability and service. Its unbelievable to see here how many others have suffered the same substandard customer service for what is clearly an inferior, shoddily manufactured car. Perhaps theres another class action suit against Audi- this time for engine failure- waiting to be brought to light. My hope is that by writing this, others will steer clear of all Audi cars, both new and used. Maybe once Audis bottom line is affected, theyll start paying more attention to quality control and the real people who drive their cars.

Bought this car brand new. I only had one issue during the 120K miles on it. Audi replaced the water pump at a oil change visit and then gave me extended coverage at no charge. (What Auto company does that?) The brakes do need to be replaced about every 25-30k miles. Routine maintenance is not terribly expensive. The car I replaced this car with is a Porsche Macan. I love the drive of the Macan but routine maintenance is very expensive. Spark plugs at 30K. Drain transmission at 40K. Plan on at least 1K per visit. The Audi was very dependable and a great car. My wife bought a 2018 S5 Sportback that is so much fun to drive. This is a great car company and look forward to visiting their manufacturing plant in Germany!!

I continue to search for an affordable solution for my once beautiful Audi A4 under 100k miles as of today. The topcoat split open and the entire car looks like a jigsaw puzzle. Audi offers no help; no solution. The fix for me would be circa $1K. What could that possible mean to a rich organization like Audi. For me, however, because Im now retired, its not an option. If youre buying a pretty auto for the long haul, skip Audi... it peels.

I have a 2012 Q7 with 125000 on the clock. I must say this is one of the most reliable and enjoyable vehicles I have owned. It never breaks down and just requires regular maintenance. As for people complaining about noisy brakes I find this only occurs if the pads are not properly bedded. As other posters said they are unwilling to do 5 or 6 fast stops from 60 mph to 20 in succession on a deserted road. If they did this as recommended by the Audi dealer this would bed the brake pads properly. This vehicle has high performance brakes not your cheap brakes found on most cars. I am so satisfied with Audi we replaced our Volvo with another Audi. When the time comes to replace the Q7 I will be getting another Audi.

When I called I was put in the holding system for about 20 minutes. Got an associate and while he was helping resolve the issue he cut me off. Called back and was put back in the hold system for another 20 mins. Got an associate who took care of one piece of the problem and told me she needed to transfer me to a different department which she did. And guess what, yes put back in the hold system for another 20 minutes. One of the most frustrating customer service experiences EVER!

This review is about Audi Canada and dealers In Toronto. I purchased a 2010 demo S5 in 2019 and I have not had a consecutive 6 months or more without this lemon of a vehicle breaking down. From new transmission to all sorts of electronic fixes, the radio, buzzing sounds, catalytic converter, windows, clutch, coolant reservoir, etc. etc., the most incredibly annoying is that I am on my 7th (yes, SEVENTH) thermostat replacement - the first 5 by Audi and under warranty and the last 2 on my dime! When attempting to have them recall this part and or compensate me for 6 (and ongoing) failures of the same part, they basically told me theyre not responsible. Comically, one set of thermostat had to be replaced only days after Audi Midtown installed a new one. This was my first and last Audi! Never Again!

I leased the 2012 Audi Q7 in 2013. From the very beginning, the car burned a lot of oil. I kept having to put 2 qts of oil every time. They would not do a consumption test and said it was all in my head. Now my car barely 4 years old wont start. They told me I might need a new engine and it would cost 18000. But to access it properly I needed to pay 2600 for a proper diagnosis. Customer service would not assist me saying that my car was out of warranty. I thought a 60 something thousand dollar car would perform better. Very disappointed in Audi service and the product.

Lovely car, very high quality. Came with many features - some were optional. Id recommend this car mainly for this reason. Im happy with its appearance and the features combined. Im also satisfied with the upgrade and personalization options. I was offered some personalization options but not many to be completely happy. Pretty good passenger capacity, spacious in the back with comfortable seating. Im happy with the capacity and this is one of the main reasons I bought this car.

I financed a 2006 A4 Used from Douglas Motors in Summit. In less than two weeks, the headlights keep flickering off. They change one and didnt change the other. While it was still under warranty, I decide to buy the second headlight and have it changed by my personal mechanic ( I also took pictures). I went back to the dealership because the engine light came on. To my surprise, they took a diagnostic from a Volvo and try to pass if off as my Audi, telling me to pay $700 and something dollars for a repair that doesnt belong to my car. I went to my personal mechanic plus Audi to verify. Audi told me they only deal with P codes, whatever that meant. So I ask for a copy of my original diagnostic, they said its wrong and not company policy to disclose the paper work. Right now, my oil pump failed at 64000 miles, and I bought the car 53000 miles. The dealership never change batteries, Ive changed it since I got it. I changed tires. Please, I need help on what to do with this lemon car that Im financing.

I purchased an Audi used with 21,000 kms. Since owning it, I had some major stuttering during acceleration. The technicians had it in the shop no less than 5 times replacing parts or cleaning injectors. Just before warranty ran out, I asked if I had their commitment to repair this known problem before the warranty ran out - I had this in writing. Sure enough, even though I was promised a fifth time that it was repaired, the same issue occurred. Since this was after warranty the dealer had to use good will, but after a few attempts gave up and pretty much left me to deal with Audi Canada directly. Audi Canada suggest it was the wiring harness or computer that could have been making the issue and offered to pay 50% of the total cost. Even though this should have been covered under warranty in the first place, they would not budge and gave me an ultimatum that if I didnt accept the offer, they would retract it. Even worse, after agreeing, I asked if this would be a guaranteed fix. They said, No guarantee and no refund if this did not fix the issue. So, less for me. I will NEVER buy an Audi again. I love the look and feeling of the drive, but the customer service was absolutely brutal. Never have I been treated so poorly for such a top price item. I was basically speaking to a brick wall when dealing with Audi Canada. The dealer was great but had to abide by Audi Canada. Seriously, think twice before you buy an Audi!

Shocking, embarrassing, enraged are words that come to my mind while I own
Shocking, embarrassing, enraged are words that come to my mind while I own a 15-day old Audi Q5 from Mumbai (**). Previous to Audi, I owned an E class much to satisfaction of services, good customer relationship shared, robust after sales service and a fantastic road side problem solving assist. Everything seems missing after I shifted my brand loyalty with great deliberation from the sales executive and my misjudgement, of course. My expectation in every department of the service is a complete failure and way below expectation. The very purpose to pen down the displeasure is the extent of discontent I have towards the working of Audi. The experience I share herewith are a testimony to my so-called growing hatred to the brand. My conclusion is worth reading which may affect your reputation, since spending lakhs if I am not satisfied, I cannot even keep you happy and smiling for sure.My experience until I received the delivery was a rude and shocking administrative negligence. My booking, my loan approval process, my excess registration amount paid due to untimely management of affairs, had already raised doubts on my decision of ownership of Audi. The only saving grace in the entire process was the CRM and delivery procedure conducted, was overtly warmth filled, which of course did not happen at Mercedes. There was a delay in loan processing, which seemed that neither profile, previous bank history, vehicle owned previously, nor a flawless CIBIL record could help getting my loan clearance. No browny points for all the above characteristics, understandably so, since your VW finance is a new company and would look into smallest details - but killed my time in the process. After the bank approval and knowing that the car registration cost is due to hike (which is an information I provided), no steps were taken to expedite the process and save customers cost, resulting in me shelling off couple of lakhs for no fault of mine. No remorse or courtesy extended towards the same but citing government policy, the sales executives shirked their administrative laxity. Such critical, immediate and subtle PR issues are what customers (usually time constrained) of this segment look out as factors whilst buying a premium vehicle.A temporary registration sticker attached was the way the car was delivered, unaccompanied by an Audi personnel as it is a temporary number, making it extremely unprofessional, unethical and uncalled for procedure. On my way back, I was a victim of an embarrassing traffic constable tantrums. Giving my license was the only way out as I dont believe in bribery. In spite of repeatedly calling your executives, nothing was done to retrieve my license and I was left by myself to fight it out at the wrong doing of the company. It was another display of poor and pathetic after sales. Also, it showcased the dismal relationship shared between the traffic authorities and the dealer. All it took me was a letter such as this and a few personal trips explaining the reason of my innocence in the mistake committed. Afterwards, I was given back my license without any fine levied. A situation as embarrassing as this, for me, was an experience which I cannot forgo. But sadly, you, as a company, could not do anything--very sad! It leaves me with an after thought, Was I responsible for the mayhem? If not, what is the companys role in pacifying me?My E class was traded in and the administrative process was delayed so much so, that one of my EMI of E class reached my account and I had no option but to clear the same. As a result, now after 15 days of delivery of my car, when the trade in person calls up and gives me another shocker to tell me a draft of 40k is ready for my disbursement when the EMI I paid was around 45k. It was another unaccounted and unexplained loss to myself again.Tell me after reading until this stage, was anything worth a fine memory, worth a brand change, worth value for money? No--only agony, torture, and mental trauma. If thats not all, the forthcoming incidence is an absolute hell of a climax for the biggest mistake of my life to own an Audi.Considering Q5 to be an SUV, an off-roader with 4 wheel drive and Quattro (Audis signature technology), I ventured on my journey to my Pune residence via expressway on the 15th night and returned back on the17th morning with a return trip to Pune - scheduled to be on the night of 17th itself for an extended weekend work. My journey overall to Pune was not so pleasurable, one because of some screechy noise on speeding above 100 which seems to come only when windows are slightly open - but that was not the case in my scenario when I checked.Secondly, some seat rattling at higher speed is such a put off riding an SUV. I reached the night of 17th and to my dismay, the next morning, I saw that the tire was deflated. Without driving, I called in the puncture repair guy to get the cause examined. A crack was observed in the tire on the inner surface of the rear wheel which, according to the puncture guy, was a sign of health and safety hazard so he advised a tire replacement. This might have occurred due to some sharp object piercing the tire and can be termed as a minor accident case.My point is, when a tire as heavy as this can wear off, what is the safety proposition of this vehicle? Questions such as this have no answer. What followed after this was a series of phone calls to road assist, service station, Audi Mumbai, Audi Pune, etc., all adding to my panic. But no one seems to give solution but shirking their responsibility by giving each other numbers. This means that I, in state of panic, have to keep making calls with no robust solution found for me to go for work in Pune or return to Mumbai. Then, I, too, should have made not less than 12 calls all combined but what was noteworthy was that there was no call back from anyone responsible when an Audi customer is in need. It was absolutely disgusting! To add to my dismay, I get a phone call from a dealer in Pune saying, I can order a tire for you. You need to pay in advance for the same and that the tire will come in a week time. It just looked that he wanted business but when asked for customer assistance, he had no clue and just hung up the phone. How could he suggest replacement without even looking at the tire? How can he ask me to pay for it at the first place since it is only a 15-day car with not even 400km run? I had so many questions to ask someone responsible. How can a 15-day old tire wear off? Where is problem assist? Where is the tire manufacturing warranty? Where is the problem solving? Why is the customer not put to ease first?Rather having one person taking onus on the call and advise appropriately, I was made to talk to so many people without even getting a solution, which I term as an amateurish administration. An immature, unprofessional treatment mended to a premium car owner leaves me doubtful for a long-term ownership. I thank Almighty that nothing untoward occurred, which I know for a fact if it was Mercedes, I would first be put to ease, followed by the option suggested to solve the problem temporarily so that my work does not stall and then contact me for an absolute solution with agreement of both parties involved. This is what I call service and not what I received - wasting my entire day on phone calls, waiting that someone will get back with some solution for me.Also, the step tire was rather a rude shock to me, seeing the size, the nature of the tire and the black ugly design it gives - all shows the audience the punishment meted out for replacing the original tires. Wouldnt it be Audis insult to have such cars rolling in the market? With BMW, I remember that I was not allowed to open the car bonnet during a test-drive as per their policy since it may give an impression to customers that it is a faulty car. I respected it and I believe firmly that the image of the car should be a priority when you deal with this segment of a car.I was finally recommended by Audi Pune service station that there is no solution than to sport the ugly step tire and travel expressway not going beyond 60 km/h. I did follow this and was scared every minute of my 4.5-hour journey filled with fright, anger and shame (which otherwise takes me 3 hours). What an added trauma and time wastage! Now, with all what has transpired, do you still think I should be an Audi loyalist? If yes, I need concrete reasoning, or else, I am trading in this vehicle for some other vehicle. But the next steps for not having an appropriate reply or a solution would be to take this up with the companys top brass, followed by complaining to the international center for making them aware of how pathetically their Indian counterparts are handling affairs, approach the consumer court for a full refund for dissatisfaction of the product and the agony it has caused me mentally, post this on the Facebook, and start my verbal propaganda of the horrible 15-day ordeal with Audi. I am forever thanking my stars that these incidents did not happen after the warranty expires as the people in Audi would not even have responded to my queries at all.I presumed that I am making a wise decision by changing brand, but having looked at the support system that your after sales can offer, I am seriously on the look out for the Audi brand change. Your company has made a good mark in the Indian car industry but that must be due to the policies and work of the top management level, which was perhaps also one of the driving force for me to purchase an Audi. But, if your employees do not become face of Audi by proper training in management and PR, it would not need much time to succumb to its competitors. I expected care, concern, warmth and since nothing came my way, I am now a completely dissatisfied Audi customer, which I am sure you, too, can relate to.I am looking forward to the manner my complaint is going to be addressed. It will be the factor to reinforce my belief in Audi and in doing so understandably shall cause you discomfort since it may involve overhauling of few processes. My letter will benefit those hundreds of customers who have lost their way on how and what to complain and be a perfect document to not be deterred or rather help them from being troubled. Kindly find a solution at the earliest to avoid further media and legal formalities. I wish you the best with all of what you are doing - maybe its a bad experience for me personally.

We recently purchased an Audi Q3. The car has been with us for 5 months and has a 5000+ plus on it. Suddenly, the front wheel developed bubbles. Now all wheels have alignment problem. They informed us that bubbles are due to potholes. As far as my recollection goes, there has not been any major potholes that we encountered. I am extremely unhappy with the way the car has deteriorated in standard over the past few months. I believe I am talking about premium luxury car whose features had been put to vast testing and certified of performance that has enabled them over the years to set such high price value. But if a tire alignment could change and develop bubble if the car goes through a pothole, I am seriously wondering the kind of test they have done to certify it. How could I trust this car when I travel in snow? I am extremely disappointed with the car. I had once liked Audi so much that we did not look at any other brands hoping it would be truth in engineering as promised. But now I regret my decision.

@audiofficial @Audi @vw @etron_audi @bbb_north_america @bbcnews @newyorkermag @nytimes @washingtonpost The worst car company that exists, I have dealt with many higher end companies that have dignity, accountability & responsibility. My mom could have died at Audi’s hands, to this day they keep saying we need to pay for a diagnostics test for them to even consider trying to figure out why the engine started to go around 30k miles, we have had to put oil in the car weekly to date and the most serious debacle: the gas tank imploded in the back seat because of where it’s located the entire back area of the car became gas soaked slowly. Audi could have cared less and we had to pay for it, the mechanic who worked on it used to work for Audi...He said if anyone would have been near this car with a cigarette/match it would have exploded. Deplorable humans and company, #zeroaccountability for a very serious situation. I still have not heard back, only from the bots & robots that respond that WE NEED TO PAY FOR A DIAGNOSTICS TEST. Despicable company. #consumersbeware

I leased my Audi Q5 on February 2021. For the last month and a half my car has been at the dealership 3 times due to it not starting consistently. Several alarm lights also showed upon the dash along with the engine light. Due to all of this I did not feel confident driving, so I notified the person who took care of my lease. This has been the worst customer service I have received in a dealership. Both Audi headquarters and the dealership neglected to do anything to remedy the situation. The only thing they offered was to attempt to sell me another car which of course, entails paying more money. On top of that in order to end the lease early I was being asked to pay more money as if I had caused the problem in the first place. Audi did not attempt to compensate me for all of the issues that popped up nor did they help me to lend a car as I awarded results. Absolute worst dealership and worst customer service (Audi South Orlando). Completely washed their hands and tried to shift the burden onto me. Very careless and neglectful. Don’t waste your time and your money with Audi.

Ive had my 2013 Audi allroad for 8 years, it currently has 112000 miles. Its always been serviced and repaired by Audi. 25k miles ago I started to need to top up oil between services. Audi then stated that this was normal. I didnt really believe that and started to do some research on my own and found that the early TFSI engines 2008-2012 have an inherent design fault which leads to high consumption of oil. **Gradually the problem got worse and during a service when I yet again made them aware of the issue and my research findings, they said the turbo was burning oil and needed to be replaced before they could do anything. This was done and $4k later my car was still burning oil. Problem got worse and worse. At 1 qrt every 600 miles Audi said that the abnormal use was due to a leaking top cover gasket and they could not do anything until this issue was corrected. I made them aware that the engine bay would have been full of oil if the top cover gasket was to blame but went ahead to fix the gasket at the same time as the timing chain was replaced. The problem still remained. I have now spent yet another $1k to perform a oil consumption test which concluded that the car is now using 1 qrt each 200 miles! Which is everything else but normal. Audi finally says that the piston rings need to be replaced and because the car is now out of warranty I have to pay for everything out of pocket!!!The fact that Audi from day one blamed everything else and asked me to spend premium $ to fix whatever they said was the issue instead of taking responsibility for their faulty engines is ridiculous and everything else but premium. Its so savage and ruthless to bleed your customers of money knowingly that there is an issue with the engines. This is not what I expect of a premium car company. Whoever is considering of ever buying or owning a new or used Audi please think twice!

The issue that I have experienced was: 1.5 months back I had my 5 year old Audi A3 cut out on the motorway due to the engine mis-firing. I had RAC tow the car into Audi Nottingham where they said one of the injectors had failed which caused fuel to enter into the engine and cause this issue. I paid £1200 to get this fixed. A month later the car cut out again with the exact same symptoms, so I had it taken into Audi Sheffield. After having the car for 2 weeks they are still not able to re-produce the failure but can confirm from the vehicle computer system that the engine is mis-firing. After buying a premium car, and having it taken only to an Audi dealer for any services/repairs it is really disappointing to experience first hand the lack of quality with both the car and the service received. It occurred on: 11/06/2019.This meant that I was put in danger by the engine cutting off on the motorway. I was left without a car for 2 weeks during the initial breakdown. I was left without a car for another 2 weeks during the second week. I have lost all confidence in the car, the Audi group and the capability of the Audi technicians who are meant to be the best at what they do. I would like Audi to take ownership for selling me a car with a faulty engine and actually get it fixed. There comes a time when they need to stop looking for every excuse as to why the car engine is failing and look into what is causing the engines to fail in a car that is 5 years old with 60K miles on the clock. This is the most disappointed I have ever been with a car company or the services I have received from any car OEM! I look forward to your prompt response on this matter.

I purchased a 2005 Audi A8L a year ago (Jan. 18, 2011) from Checkered Flag Audi. This was supposed to be my dream car, but it’s a nightmare, a lemon. This was not an impulse purchase as I own a 1997 Audi A6, which is the perfect car with no major problems. I’ve always purchased new cars, but the A6 was my first used purchase. I like the look of the A8, but not the new A8 price. So for months I looked for the perfect used Audi A8 with reasonable miles and nice features. So I didn’t hesitate when I found the 2005 A8L at your dealership. However, it has been the worst mistake I’ve ever made. The car has spent over (200) two hundred days in service since I purchased it last year. I’ve been making car payments on a vehicle that I can’t drive because it’s in the service department on Virginia Beach Blvd. The last time I saw my car was Dec. 16, 2011, and it was broke down on the side of the interstate. Here’s a list of some of the things that have been replaced, repaired or broken by the Audi service technicians. The list may not be complete since I’m not able to locate the car and retrieve the service records in the glove compartment. The front end replaced (a problem when we initially purchased the vehicle).New radiator, which we had no problems with until we took it in for service.New water pump (scheduled maintenance).Electrical system (MII). Had problem during test drive and took 2 trips and over 80 days to diagnose and fix.Lock and lug set (dealership lost when diagnosing front end work).Serpentine belt (scheduled maintenance). The whole pulley and belt system due to improper install. This caused my car to break down on the interstate on December 16, 2011 and it’s still at the dealership. I’ve not received any communication since the 1st week in January 2012. A dent in the rear bumper while being serviced. This happened while the car was being service.Damage windshield reservoir due to frontend work (damaged when the front end was serviced and has not been replaced).Cracked center console due to MII replacement (damaged by Audi technician during installation).Bad rear air shock, which is a problem we discussed with Alan **, Mark (the car salesman), and the business manager when I signed the contract. Alan assured me that since the car hadn’t been serviced they would diagnose the problem and fix it. I was told it was not a covered repair and they packed it with grease.Battery replacement--during one of the many service appointments the battery ran down. It was in the shop for over a month when I received the call. I was forced to pay $186.00 to replace the battery and it was clearly not something I caused. This is an excessive amount of repairs. I would understand and expect to have these problems if I purchased my car from Charlie Faulk or The Auto Connection. However, I purchased my car from Checkered Flag Audi, a so-called reputable dealership. I found out that the car was not service prior to me purchasing it. That explains the problems during my test drive which the manager (Alan) assured me that everything would be taken care of (the problems would be minor). I guess they need to make the quota for the month at my expense. My car has been in the shop on every major holiday, except for Thanksgiving. We can’t take it out of town because it will not make the trip. I bought this car for my wife, and I don’t ever want to see her stuck on the side of the busy interstate again. I’m paying car payments on a car that I don’t have; more important, the car won’t live pass the loan amount. I only have a year left on my warranty and I fear that I will be stuck with an unusable car because you sold me a bad product. Checkered Flag Audi should be ashamed to sell such a poor product. I purchased my car from your dealership because I wanted a quality used car from a reputable establishment. This is not the case.I believe I’ve been very patient and cooperative in this matter, but enough is enough. I’ve left many messages for Alan and my calls have not been returned. I will be seeking legal counsel or better yet 10 On Your Side to expose the type of dealership that I purchased my car from.

Vehicle (2016 A6 Quattro) has shut off while driving. Vehicle has shut off while at a stop light; would not immediately restart. Fiddled with the gears, put in park. Got vehicle to start after about 30-60 seconds. 30-60 seconds is a significant amount of time at a stop light that has just turned green. This has happened 3 times. Enter vehicle; start; put in reverse or drive to exit my driveway; car has shut off while attempting to exit driveway, 4 times; warning/Prompting me to put it in park. Brakes or rotors make a scratching noise; notice if driving close to a wall or median (to reflect the sound) when windows are down. Have had brakes checked by dealer multiple times and have been told they were fine. However, they make a constant noise. My parking sensor has been stuck in a position that makes vehicle think the passenger side front bumper is in contact with something. Will usually go back to normal by the next day. This has happened twice. Also has 2 recalls. 1 has not been completed. The other, the airbag recall, has been unable to be repaired. Dealer states they have not been sent the parts. This has been ongoing for months now.

Audi has a wide range of luxurious and sporty models in multiple body styles. The designs are German Teutonic style with avant-garde interiors. The interiors are luxuriously European with high quality materials and finishes. The vehicles have the iconic waterfall grill and rings in the front and come in a variety of models and have distinct option packages, a variety of colors and personalization options that allows for unique looks. The vehicles are roomy enough for their intended purpose, but not so large as to seem huge. The design is very European where the driver is the most focused.

Audi A4 2003 original owner - After replacing our timing belt and water pump, a problem with heating begins. Then three years ago, the dealership asked us to replace the heater core to resolve the problem with blowing only cold air instead of hot through the heating system during the winter. The cooling system works fine. I was against that because there wasnt any reason the heater core to stop working at once. I changed the dealership, but they obviously had the same policy everywhere not to diagnose, only replace part in order to make money. I gave up and replaced the heater core. As I expected, it didnt resolve the problem at all. After three years of flushing the system at the same dealership, they diagnosed again that the heater core shall be replaced at my expense. It is very disappointing that a relatively good car has so bad service and looks like a not professional service at all.

A very nice variety of models was represented with plenty of available information about each on the occasion of my purchase. The Audi has luxury features, gorgeous body styles. I was taken aback by the amount of quality variety I was exposed to. There is a decent amount of passenger capacity in these cars, but I wouldnt recommend it for families as it would be a bit cramped. For a couple or even a couple with a child, it would be perfect. While I didnt choose to apply any of these upgrade and personalization options, a great many of these were readily available at the time of my purchase. The only problem I encountered was being able to pick my favorite!

These vehicles tend to be extremely visually pleasing, stylish and sleek. These are usually futuristic looking and quite stunning to see. And these vehicles tend to be quite accommodating to multiple passengers with the exception of the spot models. They usually have great leg and head room. Great size for families or large people. And there is a fair amount of variety and selection. I do feel they are highly overpriced when it comes to maintaining the vehicle. They can be reliable but when they break parts can cost more than the vehicle itself. Custom wheels, custom sound systems, custom paint and custom interior options. Also custom accessory packages. These custom features tend to increase the price dramatically.

Audi of North America gets an F for customer service. I had the worst experience ever dealing with their representative over a new Q5 I purchased. Two phone calls (ended nowhere), I escalated the issue to a supervisor who not surprising was same useless when it comes to settling disputes between the customer and the dealer. The car came with a license plate cover on the front grill, but my state does not mandate/issue a front license plate and the grill. There are two big holes that cannot be covered by a license plate. Audi refused to replace the bracket with one that does not have the license cover despite their promise at the dealership that they would switch it. I am done with the brand!

I have a new 2017 Q7 Premium, 3500 miles. When pulling away from a stop sign or stop light, the engine pauses from time to time. So much so, that once in a while, it can be a safety hazard with oncoming traffic. Also, the GPS system works sometimes, and most of the time the routes are completely crazy, taking me 100s of miles out of the way of my destination. My car has been at the dealership for 5 days now, and they called yesterday to inform me that the pause is inherent to the vehicle, just get used to it! As for the GPS, corporate office knows it doesnt work, and they may or may not try and fix it?? So, this vehicle costs a pretty penny, but aint worth it. Im offering to leave it on their lot and walk away if I can have my money back??

You look at this car and you know this is a great vehicle. Looks good and comfortable yet performs like a true performance car. The dealer will help you add any little feature you want. I want satellite radio which was not in the car I looked at. Also, they immediately got me a radio in the car I wanted. Was very impressed with the passenger capacity. I found the Audi Q5 to be a very attractive car compared to other models that I had reviewed. It has a lot of features that I wanted in a car and the price was within my budget. I chose the Audi because of safety ratings that it has, it rides great and it had most of the features that I wanted. The car has GPS, which comes in handy often. It has WiFi and drives smoothly to be an SUV. The SUV has lots of power and acceleration is great. I enjoy the fact that it has Bluetooth and Sirius Radio as well as heated and vented seats. However, it does not have a convenient USB port and the GPS system took some time to program. I would change the location of the cup holders. I find it awkward to drive and use my cup holder because of where its located. I also wish I had steering wheel heater and that it had the in dash readout. But overall the Audi Q5 is a great car.

It was horrible. This was my first time buying a used car and it turned out to be the worst experience of my life so far, with all the headaches, confusion, lies and scummy dealers and dealerships. On June 1, 2010, I purchased (financed) a 2005 Audi A6 with 58,000 miles. The car was treated and maintained, as told. By the end of January, I experienced almost a near death accident while on my way home driving the car. It began to shake out of control. The steering wheel locked up and the brakes locked up. I was scared for my life so I pulled the emergency brake. And before I hit the car parked to the right of me, the whole car shut off completely and wouldnt start. I thought I needed a jumper but that wasnt the answer so I had the car towed to the nearest parking space until Audi of Manhattan opened for business the next morning.I paid for the car to be towed there where they diagnosed that my 6-month old investment’s engine failed and seized up. I got the estimate of repairs from the dealership. They told me it would cost a whopping $6,000 for a new motor and about $3,000 for the repair work from Audi. I was sad to hear the news but was confused, alongside with the service team, at why a motor with 64,000 miles would seize if there was nothing wrong and the car was treated like a charm.I finally got enough money, after a few months of parking garages and receiving tickets for my car being unable to move, to pay for the repair. I spent $3,999 on a motor and about $1,000 on repair work.Im writing as an innocent consumer who faced an evil and crooked dealership without the knowledge of what they were capable of doing. And thats ruining innocent consumers like me life and pockets as we know it. I was stuck with a car that was unable to move, let alone start, so I can drive. Paul ** offered no assistance. Audi of America was no help either. Thats why Im turning to this consumer help and small claims court to seek the justice I deserve and stop the crooked dealers out there from destroying another consumer’s hard work and earned money.

AUDI Q3 2016. Since the day I leased this vehicle, I am getting all these troubles and also got a safety recall. DAY 1: BRAKES went BAD. FIXED at Dealership at ROCHESTER HILLS, MICHIGAN. DAY 200: Tire Flats and Tire Expert (Not from AUDI) points out that Tire has torn out Heavily. Looks like Tire was not a quality one. Day 250: Windshield Breaks due to Temperature Pressure. (Wow what a quality again). DAY 260: Another Tire Burst in middle of road which should have almost lead to a major accident. (THIS HAPPENED SUNDAY 02/05/2017). (Total Miles 11500).Currently it is running on SPARE tire. I am just scared to touch the vehicle again. I have driven so many Cars and been driving for more than 5 years. But never had such a GREAT experience. That too with a NEW car which is still under warranty. DID AUDI has provided me very low quality tires and other accessories. These are costing me a ton to get it repairs... Does AUDI has nothing to do with it. This is ridiculous that after paying thousands, AUDI gives you such a quality car. WHAT SHOULD I DO NOW. I am leasing a Audi A7. I love it. BUT recently I had a 2019 loaner and they redesigned the shift and it’s flat out dangerous. They made the park a button in the soft. So when you naturally move your shift to “park” it’s now reverse. I didn’t know this on the loaner. Upon putting it in “park” I almost hit someone because it was actually reverse and I was going about my business of gathering my purse and water bottle. They should make the first gear neutral then reverse then drive. It just doesn’t make sense to me. Yes you can get used to it but when your husband or kids borrow the car and aren’t used to it...it can be dangerous. So I am very likely not getting another Audi as this shift design is permanent. Now...I love my 2018 with the old shift. It’s comfy and rideable like a dream. She is beautiful and I get lots of compliments daily. Technology is amazing. If they change the shift design when my lease is up I would likely lease another. I have had great service and the dealership is beautiful with great amenities.

I bought an A4 a year and a half ago used but in incredible condition. Now for my confusing part. The car starts to idle rough, push the turn off button and keeps running for a few seconds. The engine light appears the next day. Ran code and came up timing. I then read it been quite the problem it seems. People having catastrophic engine failure at worst. I then see Audi has been sued.I contact the lawyer firm representing the plaintiffs (on the tensioner failure) and was sent a form because my Audi was one of the models affected. Was told as long as I bring it to an authorized Audi dealership it would be covered 100% and if brought to an independent repair shop $1500 would be covered. Well I called the only dealer near me 50 miles away and was told, Yes we are aware of the extended warranty and yes Audi will cover it. Okay great!!! Had the car flat bedded there. Got a call they received my car. Great then a service advisor called and said it would be a few days to a week to repair. I was told it a 10 hour job. I said okay. Then a few days later I called back because I had a question. The service advisor told me, I was just about to write you an email. I have some bad news. Audi will only cover 25% of the repair and need maintenance records. What!!!! What happened to you know all about the extended warranty and look forward to seeing your car. I said as far as the maintenance records they are all listed on Carfax. Was told they cant use that. (Why? Extended warranty companies use them along with Edmunds.) I dont know. Like I said Im confused completely. Its been over a week and havent heard a word back from anyone. I will say for the record the employees I did talk to were very polite but polite doesnt answer why I havent heard back about the status.

I purchased this car 4 years ago from a friend who purchased it new. It had around 4,000 miles when I got it and in 4 years I put roughly 10,000 miles on the car and serviced it regularly. At around 14,000 miles in June of this year the car started blowing an excessive amount of bluish smoke from the exhaust so I took the car in to the dealership thinking they over filled the oil during an oil change. After 3 weeks of back and forth they tell me it needs a head gasket to my complete amazement. I explained to them that is impossible considering the car has never over heated, never asked for coolant and always ran at the same temp but they insisted. I naturally went online and began combing through message boards blogs and reviews discovering that there has been many documented FACTORY defects in this type of engine and the only way to fix it is to replace the engine. I passed this information along to the local Audi dealer and they stated the FACTORY rep says this is the fix and after raising hell they charged me $600 and fixed it. After 2-3 weeks I get the car back and day 1 the same problem pops up again just as I knew it would so I called the Audi dealer and took the car back. Roughly 1 week after they had it I received a call from them to inform me the car needs a new engine to the tune of roughly $30,000 and of course I called Audi North America explained my problems and obvious anger and concern as to how my $150,000 car needs a new engine at 14,000 miles and they of course were super nice explained they will do what they can to help and would get back to me. The dealer calls me several days later and says the Factory is willing to cut you a break and fix it for $5,600!!!!! Wow thank you sooo much so generous of you to charge me $6,000 to replace a defective engine you built that was destined to fail from the assembly line. Small back story....I purchased a 2007 Gallardo brand new with 0 miles in 2007 and at 103 miles the crank shaft sensor went bad and it sat in the shop for 3 months waiting for the part to come in (same company). Terrible customer service - obviously hate repeat customers. And if it costs them money would rather not help you. Mercedes Lexus Toyota would have stood behind their product where Audi refuses to do so!

We bought a CPO 2011 Q5 from a dealer in Chicago. As we were driving it home to Ohio, I noticed that one headlight was brighter than the other. Long story short, it turns out that it had been in an accident. The dealer refused to let us return it, or have it fixed at their cost. My dream car turned into my worst nightmare. Audi customer service is by far and away the worst I have ever dealt with. On top of that my car guzzles oil (about a quart every 300 miles or so), and Im still living the nightmare of trying to have it fixed under the pending lawsuit against Audi. I would NEVER buy another Audi again.

Bought a used (but looked like-new) 2004 Audi A4 1.8T. It had 82k miles on it from the previous owner of 10 years. No accidents, what could go wrong? Seemed like a diamond in the rough. Carfax said it never had major repairs done to it whatsoever. Seriously good deal right? Wrong. The dealers had left the car light on and blamed the last owner for making it a problem and having to change the battery. Dealers said theyd replace the battery before they sold it to me. Okay. Bought it, picked it up, went home. It sat there. Few days later? Dead car. Called the dealers, had them tow the car, sat in their off-the-map shop for 4 days with no communication because the mechanic was too busy and sounded annoyed the one time I tried to get in touch. It finally came home to me, only to find a scratched side mirror that wasnt there before (I have picture proof) and a check engine light. Next few days - dead again. Battery was fine, its something electrical. This is a good a time as any to mention that the car is completely automatic and locks everything. Can hardly get into the drivers side, all other doors are locked, trunk is locked, no real locks inside or key hole for truck, nope. All automatic. Huge hassle. Im getting a refund. Its more money than its worth. NEVER AGAIN.

My 2010 Audi Q5 3.2L has a carbon buildup problem that was covered under a 10 year, 120K mile extended warranty due to an Audi created defect. I was NEVER notified by Audi of this problem or the extended warranty. I started to get a CEL over a year ago and my local mechanic tried to resolve the problem multiple times, even replacing air flow parts but it never resolved. I paid the $180 at the Audi dealer to get a full diagnosis and they confirmed the carbon buildup problem. But they wont fix it because I confirmed this issue 2 MONTHS after the 10 year mark (and only 75K mileage) even though the problems started well before. The company has NO GOOD WILL and DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS. ITS ALL ABOUT MONEY. It will cost me over $2000 to clean the carbon out -- a known defect that Audi created and now WILL NOT MAKE GOOD ON. It is obvious that they created the problem but they even tried to blame my mechanic for the problem since they dont know what the mechanic might have done to my vehicle. GOOD JOB AUDI -- PASSING THE BLAME ONTO YOUR CUSTOMERS. BUYER BEWARE. I am disgusted at their lack of consideration.

My daughters 5 year old Q5 with complete and proper maintenance and just 63,000 miles had the engine blow. The dealership in Minneapolis says dont bother to fix it. Does anyone know if these engines have had a long history of problems? Seems highly irregular that a well cared for car blows up at 63,000 miles.

I suggest you dont buy an Audi vehicle. My wife and I were both Audi people. She drives a 2015 Audi Q5 and I have a fully loaded 2014 A6. Both vehicles have had their maintenance done at the dealership. We just had to pay to have her pistons replaced on her Q5 due to the oil consumption issue (Google it). They have known about this defect and have settled a class action suit on earlier models. Rather than fix the problem, they are taking the position that oil consumption is normal and they have noted as such in their owners manual. My wife was at the point where we had to add oil every other week. The repair was over 4K. I am at the point where I am adding oil to my A6 although much less frequently but I am concerned about what is going on in the engine.I feel Audi is not standing behind their product. For the amount of money we paid for these vehicles, these engines should last longer. The maintenance on these vehicles is not cheap. To have an engine need that kind of repair after 5 years is ridiculous in this day and age. For it to be a common problem where they have a specific oil consumption test protocol at the dealership just shows you how common this is. I am sure it would be a huge expense for them to admit fault and resolve these issues. They have been fined for lying about issues with their diesel engines and they simply cant be trusted. So as much as we loved our vehicles, we are done with Audi. We will never own Audis again and our next cars will be something more reliable from a more reputable manufacturer. Not only are we sharing our story on multiple forums, we are telling all of our friends and co-workers about our experience with Audi. I am certain they have lost way more than the 4K it would have cost to cover the repair on my wifes Q5.

I leased a brand new car from Audi Queensway in Ontario in February 2015 because I thought Audis were awesome cars and naturally assumed the service levels would be too. After I purchased the car I found it to be noisy as if it was not sealed properly and took it back to Queensway. They looked at it several times and advised me that what Audis sounded like. I had a 20k Dodge that sounded much better. After a few more months, I was still unhappy and then took my Audi to Oakville on 03 September. I booked it in a week in advance and explained the problem. After a service person drove the car, he told me he suspected that the tire was causing this. After waiting the entire day, I called Audi to find out whats happening and was told that the tire needs replacing at my cost as its wear and tear. I explained to them ad nauseam that this was a new car and I reported this problem from the time I got this car. They werent interested nor helpful. They suggested I take it back to Queensway as its preowned. I then had to convince them that the car was bought brand new as they assumed its pre-owned. I also mentioned to them that I had purchased every possible warranty and insurance so that I do not have to have any issues.Audi Oakville was adamant that Queensway should sort out the issue. I explained that I bought an Audi and warranty and any dealer should be able to sort out the issue. After speaking ad nauseam to the service manager and admin person, no help was offered other than this is my fault and if I wanted the problem resolved, I should pay for a new tire. I was asked to pick up my vehicle (with the fault not rectified and bring it back another time). I explained that I needed my car for work and that I had taken the day off to get this service done. My wife took time off work and drove me to Audi to drop the car off. Now I also needed to get life to fetch my car. I was also given a lecture by the service manager about how my driving may have caused this issue. After explaining to him again its a new car, I discontinued my call due to his condescending nature. No loan car or hired vehicle was offered to me.I then called Audi head office to explain my dilemma. The first service person after listening to my issue then told me it will be sorted out the next business day. I told her I do not have a vehicle. She told me it was the end of her shift and could not help further. Apparently because she took the call, she could not get anyone else to assist. At 4 pm, she advised that she will arrange with Oakville to provide a hired car. We called back many times and this was not done. After many more calls to her, she had the audacity to hang up on my wife. She also advised no supervisors were available. After many more calls, another assistant directed us to a supervisor who was available named Sunny. Sunny was helpful and we then explained the entire story to him. HE advised that his boss is aware of the problem and at 6 pm last night advised that she will call me this morning.I called 4-5 times this morning and she did not answer. At 12:50 when I called again Audi head office was closed. Yes, now head office is closed and Audi Oakville who I called said my car is ready to pick up with the problem unresolved. I must pay 1500 Cad to have my wheel alignment checked and done and also pay for a new tire which they cannot do anytime soon. So here I am. Audi will not arrange for me to be fetched. I will take a taxi to fetch my car as my son starts school next week and I was asked to drive my car away from the dealership without a fault being repaired.I will advise my insurance company as I assume Audi will assume liability if anything happens due to the related problem. The service manager at Audi Queensway was helpful and has offered to look into the matter sometime next week. I was also advised that certain tires provided by Audi wears differently and this may be the issue. This was communicated by Audi Queensway and Audi Oakville. Imagine that a brand new car with less than 18000 km and I may have tires that wear easily.I spoke to my salesman who sold me the car and apparently I dont have much recourse in terms of returning my car. Ive owned Fords, BMWs, Volvos, VW etc. in the past and Ive never encountered such pathetic service. Never was I constantly given excuses of what cannot be done but rather how can they help me. I regret this purchase and wish I could cancel this transaction without financial consequence but assume now that my monies have been paid and my warranties are paid I am stuck with this vehicle. I will get rid of this car as soon as I can and will certainly go with another brand.

This brand has a fairly wide variety of models. Including Audi A3 Sedan, Audi Q3, Audi A4, Audi A3 Cabriolet and many more exclusive and family cars. The variety of models range from sedan to cabriolet. I had the Audi A3 Cabriolet, it was a beautiful cobalt blue. It had a nice range of features. Mine was a standard wheel drive. The stereo was very nice as well. You can option this beautiful car out to your hearts content. You can add a turbo, choose your color, change stock stereo set and much more. The capacity in my car was good. However, I would imagine a sedan being much more spacious and better for family than my cabriolet. My cabriolet had enough room for myself and my school supplies, however.

If you ever consider buying a used Audi make sure it has an extended warranty for as long as you plan on owning it!!! They break down often and when they do it will cost you a fortune to fix!! You will get sucked in thinking, Ok Ill fix this problem then I should be ok, then next month another issue and it happens every month, and it is major money every time!!! Last one I owned was an A6 with 70,000 miles, car book value is around $10,000 they want $6500 to repair a mechatronic, car will not shift out of park when its cold, no way to bypass it, and they dont even have the part!!! I now own a $10,000 piece of **!!!

There are several class action lawsuits on this exact issue. I have a Q5 that the engine blew up recently due to a hydraulic tensioning of the timing belt causing the belt to stretch, thus slipping on the sprocket. The valve crashes into the piston, destroying the engine. When I brought it to the dealer with 62K miles, they said Tough. Its your problem as it is out of warranty. I asked if they were saying that I was ** and they said yeah, in other words. The repair cost is $10,000.A high end Audi SUV not lasting >65k miles due to a fundamental design flaw and them literally saying youre screwed... Wow! Im trying to get the word out to anyone and everyone to warn them against anything Audi or VW. It is fundamentally flawed and they just dont care. This is exemplified by the lawsuit that they just settled on the diesel cover up.

If you cant at least admire an Audi by its appearance then try its performance. ;) Their upgrade and personalization options were great... plenty of options. They could expand on selections but the array provided was satisfactory. I was happy with my choices but could always use improvements. I have a 4dr A6. Its just fine... all their cars within the classes are pretty comfortable. Looked at everything and space for capacity wasnt really an issue. Just purchase towards your needs. Dont buy a 2dr with a family with kids.

I am so disappointed and disgusted with my 2009 Audi A5 that I cannot even express how bad my Audi experience is so far. I should have stayed with my Mercedes Benz. I took my car to the Audi dealership to get my window fixed and they actually caused 3 more things to break on the car and now I have to pay for it when the car is under warranty?? They put a faulty motor for my window which caused a short and now my xenon headlight is not working and they want me to pay for the headlight which they caused to break. Horrible experience with Audi service. Dealerships have incompetent and badly trained mechanics and customers need to pay for that. I will make sure I will disclose on every page I can to warn customers not to buy an Audi.

Audi q3 is very good. But, some technology features missing. It drove well and the turn radius and acceleration was excellent on the vehicle. The Audi is built to last mileage-wise with less issues than the other car brands. I like its performance of drive and quality of build/Longevity. The outside look of the vehicle and how it drove over railroad tracks and potholes was significantly different than the other cars I test drove. However, there is no back-up camera, no navigation, media went in and out. For the price you pay for the car, you would think these items come standard as they do in less prestigious brands such as Honda, Ford, and Chevy.

I am Disha and I bought an Audi Q7 for Rs. 94 lakhs from Bengaluru, two years and four months back. The reason was its speed as I had to travel to different cities and it was a business requirement too. I bought two more Audis for my business officials and purpose. But my experience with Audi is very bad. The first Audi car of mine is Q7 and it is a little over two years old. I have spent Rs. 45 lakhs on my Q7 already for it to run efficiently. Currently, I gave the Audi for service purposes a month ago and I have still not got it back in spite of me paying the full amount. The excuse is that they are not able to get the automobile parts and its still to reach India from overseas. I now curse myself for my fleet of Audi. I have a Q3 and an A4 too which are also the same and I had spent huge amount of money on them just to keep them running. Along with the performance of the car, high maintenance cost and bad after sales and dealership services I still thought of keeping my cars but I am not able to get my car back after giving it for servicing. So I regret my decision of buying the Audi cars and would not recommend anyone to buy such cars or any of Audi cars at all. My name is Disha and I am an established businesswoman of Bengaluru.

I am writing this message to alert those of you who drive Audi Q7. Last Thursday, I escaped disaster when my Q7 brakes failed while I was driving. I by Gods grace saved ladies and kids who were on the road. Moved the gear from D to P after which it started to slow down and then stopped. I reported the incident to Audi dealer. They got the car towed, performed all the tests and told me that the brakes are fine. And they confirmed it through tests and road tests. I know they are hiding the truth because of Audis image but my conscience is not allowing me to keep quiet and let someone else be the victim of the same situation.

I own an Audi A4 Quattro that with less than 60.000 miles started with a metallic sound from the front wheels, it turned out that the bearings had to be replaced... I had a extended warranty which Audi refused to honor. It is very disturbing that a company that is so proud of their 4-wheel drive would have such premature problems with their wheel bearings. To add insult to injury, the dealer had not updated the history of the car with the repairs done, the brand said there must have been internet problems. Navigation system which was easy to use, breaking system great in snow and Bluetooth phone. 4 passengers can fit in the car although the seating at the back was tight for anybody over 6 foot. I have recently learned that the terms and conditions that I agreed to are in fact not what the contract that I signed represents. I am also very upset to learn that the market value that I was guaranteed was in fact false and was grossly overstated by at least $13,000. Even more so, I am upset by the fact that after consistently being assured and led to believe that a lease contract was far better to do instead of purchasing because I was getting a much better deal, this also has now been found to be false, and that the actual purchase price of the vehicle is an estimated $7,000 to $8,000 more than what I agreed, not to mention the fees that I paid upfront that were added back into the remaining amount due.I am bothered by the fact that Ashley with Audi Financial Services stated that she would have never agreed to sign a contract like the one that I was led to sign by the misrepresentation of facts. She also stated that the amount that was calculated for my 2010 A5 was more than what the normal payment should be. In referring to my contract and the terms, she stated that she had never seen one like this before. Jim, the manager at Audi Financial Services, stated that my true intent to purchase the car instead of leasing was evident by the fact that I made a down payment of $26,124.00. He also stated that he wished that there was something that he could do, but that his hands were tied. He advised me to contact Audi USA and/or the dealership to address modifying the contract terms and purchase price based on the information that had surfaced. Since the dealership has shown that deceptive and misleading actions were conducted in order to have me agree, I contacted Audi USA.Since then, I have been working with a representative named Rob. While he is nice and very apologetic, I feel that my efforts to work in good faith are potentially one-sided. This conclusion is based on my last conversation with Rob, in which I welcomed him to please pull the recorded conversations between Ashley, Jim, and myself to verify that Audi Financial Services agreed that my contract was written to be unfair to me. He stated that he did not think that it was possible for him to. He also stated that he would try to see what, if anything, could be done to modify my contract. I advised him that since my decision to enter into a contract with Audi of Columbia was based on misleading, false, and/or undisclosed information, if I would have been made aware of the true nature, costs, and terms of the contract, I would have never agreed to sign.Based on todays fair market value, Audi USA has been paid in full, but instead, I am being informed that I, in fact, owe an estimated $23,000 more, not including interest and finance charges. I am now being placed in a situation with Audi where I am being forced up against the wall to either agree to the grossly-inflated price, or watch Audi take possession of a car that is technically paid for due to the fact that my contract ends on 06/13/13.
