Automobile Troubleshooting

Dents And Scratches
If you use your vehicle, it's going to endure some wear and tear. And when it comes to small dents and scratches, it's not so much a matter of if they're going to happen, but when they're going to happen. Yes, you could file a claim with your insurance company to have the body damage repaired, but that's usually a bad idea when you consider you'll have to come up with the deductible money before anything is covered. Then, of course, there's the risk you take of your insurance premium rates increasing. But the good news is that minor dents can be easily fixed by working to suction them out of the vehicle body. For scratches, you can purchase a scratch-repair product or even look to acquire a paint that's the exact match of your vehicle to fill in the affected area.

Rust
It can come as a shock to find rust on your car though it doesn’t always represent a serious issue it depends on where the rust is found. Rust on the bodywork is cosmetic but rust underneath the car or on your exhaust could be potentially dangerous and should be investigated as it could eat away at essential components. Rust needs an anode, cathode, and an electrolyte to form which makes cars prone to it. If the climate is humid enough your car can develop rust even if it’s undercover. The metal in your car can act as the anode and cathode and water is an electrolyte. A quick check around your vehicle, under the wheel arches, and around the exhaust on a regular basis is often enough to spot any rusting issue but every few months, especially if you live in a damp or humid environment, it would be a good idea to get on your hands and knees and check under your vehicle thoroughly.

Steering Issues
It's not hard to realize whether there's a steering issue with your vehicle, as it's pretty obvious. Some common steering issues include vibrations while driving, difficulty turning the wheel, a loose steering wheel, strange noises while driving or the vehicle seemingly pulling to one side as you're driving. If you're experiencing any of these issues, be sure to have your vehicle serviced right away. Any issue that impacts steering poses a major risk to your safety and the safety of other drivers on the road. In some cases, steering issues may be nothing more than poorly inflated tires. In other situations, they could be caused by suspension problems.

Fix a Dim Headlight
Most DIYers think a dim headlight is caused by a poor connection on the power side of the circuit. That’s possible, but in most cases, the dim headlight is caused by corrosion on the ground connection. So check the electrical connector for corrosion and then clean the ground connection. Remove the electrical connector that plugs into the headlight. Look for signs of corrosion or melted plastic from excessive heat. If you find corrosion, clean it using electrical contact cleaner and a small wire brush.

The Tires are Wearing Unevenly
A certain amount of wear over time is normal but if you find that the tires wear down quickly this indicates a potential problem. If there is vibration through the steering wheel or you find that your tires are wearing unevenly you should ask someone to check the vehicle. It could be that the suspension needs alignment. In addition, sometimes tire problems are caused by external factors or by defects in manufacture.

Worn Brake Pads
Worn brake pads are a common, often dangerous, car issue. Brakes wear down over time - it's just a fact of driving. But worn-down brake pads tend to be one of the more dangerous common car issues. That's because any sort of delay in braking, no matter how small, can pose a serious safety hazard. Hence, it's important to change your brake pads at the manufacturer's recommendation (usually around 50,000 miles) and take note of any signs and symptoms that may indicate unsafe levels of brake pad wear.

Fix a Squealing Belt
Of all the car problems you might encounter, a squealing belt is probably the most annoying. The high-pitched squeal is produced when the rubber belt loses its grip and slips around the pulleys. In rare cases, a worn slow-moving alternator, pump, or AC compressor bearing or component misalignment can cause a perfectly good belt to squeal. But in most cases, the belt slips because it’s worn, is loose, or has been contaminated with oil or coolant. You can diagnose all those problems yourself with a visual inspection, a belt wear gauge, and a spray water bottle.

I own a 1998 Buick Skylark. The vehicle had 24,000 miles on it when I purchased it. It now has 117,000 miles on it. Two years ago, while I was driving the car, it just stopped on me. I was told that a camshaft was broken and that it would be easier to have the engine replaced instead of trying to fix the camshaft. I kept the vehicle maintained on a regular basis. I replaced at least 3 water pumps, 3 intake manifold gaskets, 2 EGR Valves, as well as other repairs. I didnt find out about the Dex-Cool recall until 2009 when the car stopped running. This explains why I had to replace water pumps, intake gaskets, and EGR valves so frequently. Is there any help for people like myself who cant afford to keep sinking money into cars in which the Dex-Cool product caused other problems?I am without an automobile. I had the vehicle towed to a repair shop to have an engine installed but finding an engine with low mileage is next to impossible. The cost for a used engine with over 200,000 miles was $1,700. A rebuilt engine will cost $2,800. The blue book value of the vehicle is around $1,900 if its in excellent condition. The junk yard will probably give me about $100. The body of the car is in excellent condition. I have looked for used vehicles in the $1,500 to 3,000 price range and the mileage is considerably higher than the mileage on my vehicle or the vehicles history in general is in question or both.

This car has almost 300,000 miles and is still a decent car. My Buick Lesabre has almost 300,000 miles and is still going. I purchased this vehicle due to great reviews on the engine Buick used for this vehicle. I have kept my oil changed and regular tune ups. And I believe that makes a difference in the life of your car. I recommend this vehicle. I see a lot of older Buick Lesabres on the road daily. So they must be doing something right.

I have a 2014 Buick Regal. This morning I took it to the dealer because there it was a message on the car regarding the power steering. They changed the car battery cause they said that was the reason of the message. I just want to let people know that I previously had a brand new Buick Lacrosse 2013 that I changed for this Regal and that it gave me the same problem with the battery in less than 2 years. Im not a mechanic specialist but how it is possible that 2 different brand new cars are exactly giving the same problem? It means that the manufacturer it is using a very low quality batteries on their cars to reduce their costs. I was thinking to buy a Lacrosse again but I will think it three. What a shame because I really like Buick. However, I recognize that the service at the dealer is extremely good. The guys over there are awesome, excellent attention. Thank you guys!

The 2003 Buick Century was originally purchased by my mother in 2007. I inherited the car in 2010. At the time the car was purchased, my mother needed a car that was easy to get in and out of with limited mobility. It has been reliable, comfortable transportation for 9 years. The bench front seat has been especially welcome when driving with two small dogs. Ive never owned an American car that has lasted so long. However, there is a switch for the heater and air conditioner that corrodes from condensation. The entire dashboard needed to be removed to replace it. They should make something like that easier to access for repairs.

My 2015 Buick Encores engine blew at 40,000 miles on Christmas eve. It is all under warranty. Theyre replacing the engine and that took a few weeks for the Buick dealer to get because there were problems getting the correct engine from GM. Then, when they installed it, it had a wrong part. The dealer had been trying to get that part from GM for weeks but no idea when they will get it. The dealer asked me to help by calling Buick Customer Service to escalate the problem of getting parts to the dealer. I have left messages every other day for over a week now and twice requesting a Supervisor but I still havent received a response from Buick. My car has been at the dealer a month and a half now, I have no car, no loaner, and still no response from Buick customer care. I recommend choosing a car made by a different company because what good is a warranty when they cant get parts to fix your car and nobody cares enough to return a phone call. Not a good company.

Seats up to 5 and has lots of leg room, perfect for kids or a big family. They have many colors to chose from, Sport touring models, racing inspired, medal sports pedal. I got a small car and its a luxurious car. It has heated steering wheels, good gas mileage, power controls (8way) on the driver seats, heated seats and premium audio. I have taken my Buick Regal turbo 2011 in for repairs 19 times. The serpentine belt is squeaking again so that will be 20 times. I also have a suspension light on which they report will be a 1000 dollar repair. The lemon law gave me a small amount of cash but I think Buick should have replaced this car. It all started with 2000 miles on it. It also had a cracked turbo which needed to be replaced. The dealership has been rude and horrible. I will never buy a GM product again.

Car now sounds loud when accelerating. Also seems sluggish at times. The check engine light does not come on now though. Very disappointed with this vehicle. It looks very nice but all that doesnt matter if it acts up a lot. Never had a vehicle give me so much trouble at such low mileage. How can you make car payment and pay for repairs?

I was financed by Capital One for 18.6% interest, which was a ripoff because in September 2011, I still owed $23,745 where no reduction in principle at all. When trying to sell the car in 2011, it has a value of only $15,000 as I learned that I purchased a car that was used as a rental car and had 28,000 miles when purchased.I am now stuck with a car with high mileage and I am upside down on the value.

We have a 2011 Buick Regal. Its a nice car, but it couldnt make it past 7,000 miles before the check engine light came on three times. The first time it came on, it turned out that it needed a new timing chain and 4 new valves. The second time it came on, the fuel injectors needed to be cleaned. Then, time went by and after five months, the engine light came on for the third time because the car needed a new fuel pump. So far, everything has been fine with the car.

I bought a Buick Century from my parents a couple of years ago. It was in tremendous condition, spotless. But in that period of time, the following has happened: The plastic gaskets GM uses in their vehicles deteriorated causing a major repair, the power windows failed, the catalytic converter went twice, I am told the anti-freeze used in these vehicles is faulty and is slowly eating away at the interior of the rubber hoses causing a horrible sludge problem in the radiator. And if all that isnt costly enough, the paint is literally falling off my beautiful car. Buick of course will do nothing, everything is out of warranty. I miss my Toyota vehicles that I easily got 200,000+ miles on with none of these horrible issues. I would never recommend or purchase a GM vehicle again. What a piece of **.

I purchased my 2021 Buick Encore on 7/29/21 with only a few miles on it. In less than 2 months, I have paint chipping off the hood of the vehicle. I went to the dealership who said that it must be rocks or maybe I hit something. I drove the same route to and from work for the last 3 years in my previous vehicle, a BMW 328i and never had problems like this. Also the last area that has begun chipping off started after the Encore was washed and while I was wiping the water off with a soft towel. The paint just began chipping off. The dealership stated to me on 9/22/21 that they werent sure if it would be covered under the warranty. Unbelievable! I chose to purchase a GM product due to my dad being a retired GM employee and my sister a 36-year employee of GM. If they do not do something about this issue, I will never purchase another GM product.

We have a 2007 Buick with 25,000 miles on it and the GM engineers cannot figure out what is wrong. First we took the car to Richard Kay Superstore in Anderson, SC. They had it for 3 weeks, told me they called the GM engineers but never documented it. Gave us the car back, said it was fixed but the engine light came on within one hour driving the car home. Called the dealer back, they offered no solution, left us very disappointed. We decided to try the local Chevrolet dealer, Sonic Chevrolet in Walhalla, SC. They had the car for two months, replaced a number of sensors. Contacted the GM engineers, started a issue ticket with them. Sonic Chevrolet took the time with us and said if the light comes on again there are only two things left, one that will cost $700.00 and the other that costs $1,000.00. They said the engineers told them they have never seen this happen before.Well after two days the light is back on. Since we have already spent $1,000 on parts and another $650 on new tires. I should say we originally purchased the car new and always had it serviced by GM dealers and mechanics on a regular basis. We will be bringing the car back to Sonic Chevrolet in Walhalla SC. With this issue, one needs to ask, why would anyone want to buy a GM vehicle when the computer or engineers cannot find out why the engine light is on? Seems to me that if there was no computer you wouldnt need all of the sensors and there wouldnt be a issue with a engine light, and I wouldnt have had the car tied up for three months or had to spend the money on top of the regular service we had done.

My car ran fine from 2016-2019 - I barely drove it. It had 40,000 miles on it after 3 years and since I take the train to work and the car was inexpensive and seemed to run well, I figured why not take over the lease. As soon as I did, the turbo boost failed. So I brought it to the dealership and they fixed it. When I got it back, the ENGINE EXPLODED. After having it towed to the dealership, they told me that it was irreparable. When I asked Buick for help, they said that there was sludge in the engine which must mean I never changed the oil, which is patent nonsense – how would I pass inspection three years in a row with an unmaintained vehicle? Not to mention I had my service station pull receipts from as many oil changes they could find (7) and sent those as proof but they replied those were written in pencil and so are not valid. That is nonsense. But even still, I dug deeper and found another receipt, an original carbon copy on the yellow paper, typed out. They just ignored that, as they also ignored the OnStar system report showing a robust maintenance history with oil changes at about every 5000 miles. No matter. They closed the case. I still owe $15,000 to GM Financing. Why do they think Im going to pay it? I will get justice and have my credit repaired despite their evil tampering. And I will sue for damages too. And Ive started a Facebook Group for other people who have had problems with (what Ive come to learn) their notoriously awful, neglectful, careless, thoughtless, ignorant, unjust, and bullying customer service. This company should be gutted and replaced with a newer generation of younger executives who understand todays customer as well as the power of social media.**

I recently purchased a 2012 Buick LaCrosse AWD. I traded in a 2008 Chevrolet Impala LTZ. After driving the Buick for several months now, I wish I had the Impala back. The Buick is a beautiful car with a huge defect. GM has designed and programmed the 6-speed automatic transmission to shift at over 5,000 RPM. At the high RPM, the engine noise is very noticeable. Perhaps the worst effect is that the high RPM sucks gas and the car gets nowhere near the advertised mileage. The Buicks engine has as much, if not more power, than the Impala so the high shift points are completely unnecessary. They will result in higher engine and transmission wear, and they are killing the gas mileage. I am seeing growing complaints from other Buick LaCrosse owners, but when I contacted Buicks Customer Service about the problem, they blew me off saying the car is performing normal. They wouldnt admit the other complaints, and refuse to discuss any remedy. When entering the highway and accelerating to highway speed, the transmission only uses three of the six speeds before reaching the speed limit. I choked when I heard the new Chevrolet Cruze TV commercial say, With the 6-speed transmission, it allows for lower shift points. If this is the way GM is going to treat loyal customers, then its time for me to check out Toyota and Honda. I dont know how Buick avoided the Gas Guzzler Tax with this vehicle. Someone must have lied to EPA.

My mother bought this 2008 Buick Enclave CXL with every possible option for $44,000. 75-year-old female driver only, always maintained, never abused. At 45K miles, she gave the car to me. 45-year-old male, perfect driving record, & preventative maintenance freak. At 48K miles, the transmission began slipping at various times & in various gears. Took it straight to dealer, the warranty was expired 6 months ago due to time, not mileage. The dealer charged me $212 to tell me the tranny was slipping (knew that). Said it would cost me $1,200 just to drop it & diagnose. Suggested I go with a GM rebuilt for $4,800. They said Buick would not help me with repairs or discount the parts, even with only 48K miles. I took it a couple blocks down the road for a $3,000 rebuilt tranny with a 1-year warranty. The bottom line is this was my last try with an American car. I have owned 10 vehicles: 4 Toyotas, 1 Nissan, 3 GM, and 2 Dodge. I still have 1 of the Toyotas with 94K miles & never a problem. I have never gotten to 75K on any of the American cars without major tranny or engine trouble. The opposite with the foreign brands, never any major trouble. Call it luck, I call it obvious & have finally learned my lesson. I will stay with Toyota for life.

I went to my Buick dealer, he took out another 2016 Encore to compare the camera. Same effect, blurry on second Encore. Appears problem is in camera lens. I tried adjusting the contrast, dark, light on the dash display switch. No effect except darker, blurry. Dealer had no remedy. I just traded in a 2013 GMC Terrain, and received a recall notice from GMC concerning the backup camera with interlink radio. There is a new software patch for the terrain. Perhaps there is a new software for the Buick Encore??? Any advice, fix??

This 2010 Buick Enclave CXL has been a problem from start, its had the steering system changed, the front end changed, water pump, thermostat, wiper motor, ignition key security system failed, motor mounts, the A/C went out, navigation failed, radiator and fans replaced, etc. I have had more problems with this vehicle in 6 years than I did with a 12 year old Infiniti. And its still not working right, thats why I went out and purchased another Infiniti, I was going to buy another GM Yukon Denali but not after going through so much headaches. And recently I have the engine idle is working rough almost stalling, warning that engine power has been reduced, and the other day the engine would not shut off after taking key out of ignition, its like if it were possessed. This is a definition of lemon. Wont recommend this vehicle to anyone.

Buick offers a wide variety of sedans and suv like vehicles. They are all very luxurious and they ride very smooth. My Regal has a turbocharger that keeps the engine rpm really low. I love that my car can climb my hill ridden terrain and still get phenomenal gas mileage. The car has a wonderful sound system and Bluetooth connectivity, too. Also, the car is extremely roomy. I can fit four adults rather comfortably in back seat of the car and I love the dual climate control up front because my wife is always cold and I cant stand having the heat blow on my face. They are a very high quality vehicle manufacturer. I would recommend them to anyone.

It can be upgraded and personalized, but really not all that much. Its pretty much what you see is what you get! It is a very spacious family car. Its leg/set room is its number one feature. I purchased my 2011 Buick Regal CXL Turbo October 2013. There has been multiple issues with this car, ALL electrical. The signals and headlights continues to blow and I had to change my battery twice in 2 years. I really like the idea of purchasing an American made car but this car is going to bankrupt me. I am now dealing with a blown fuse. GM had really failed with this vehicle. I ran into a lady with this make/model vehicle and she is experiencing the same issues. GM really needs to be held responsible for this. I have all of my receipts for service and with this vehicle, something has to be done!

I own a 2010 Buick LaCrosse. The passenger door came back and made an 8 gash in my 88-year-old mothers leg. She went to the emergency room and has spent a day and night in the hospital because of this. There is a chrome strip along the door that sticks out from the door, and this strip made the gash. The Buick dealer first told me he would fix the strip. But after speaking to the corporate office, he was told that he couldnt touch my car and couldnt do a thing!

This car can hold up to six people comfortably because there is a secret seat between the driver and the passenger. You could fit three car seats in the back, though it would leave you limited room for diaper bags. This car has a modern design that is not too flashy. It is equipped with radio and cruise controls on the steering wheel, so you never have to take your eyes off the road, and a day/night sensor for the rear view mirror so that glare is less of a problem. The dealership claimed they fixed/replaced crank shaft and can shaft three times and the issues were unrelated. Returned car to me leaking oil. Second dealership has had car since first week of August with turbo part 30 to 60 days out. GMC representative informed me that’s a parts issue not theirs and since they plan to repair it they are upholding their end of the deal. I thought the deal was a quality car?!?? The car has a sharp image, quality paint job, with electric windows, cruise control, automatic headlight system, moon roof that leaked and a quality seal. I purchased my 2012 Buick Verano when Buick introduced the new series in 2012. It was fairly loaded with many options and I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed that car. However I did have several manufacturer issues. In the first 2 years I had to 1. Force dealership to replace windshield because there was literally a full hand print within the windshield (during manufacturing someone touched either the glass or the safety plastic thats inside before glass was finished or fused together. It was right in my line of sight. Dealership went round and round finally they admitted they could see the issue and agreed to replace under warranty. 2. Rear window replaced. A strip in the heating element stopped working. Dealership had nerve to ask me if I could live with it... REALLY?? Its unset warranty of course I want it replaced. The factory paint job was sub par. I didnt realize it at first but it became obvious quickly. The bottom part of rear wheel wells behind where you catch ask the runoff and splash from tires started fading right away. Hood, bumper, roof all chipped way too easily... Regardless of these things I loved the Verano. It was totaled in an accident in 2015. I immediately bought a 2015 Verano. This one was way better, loved the build in wifi/ 4G LTE. It also came with advanced safety features and improved touchscreen infotainment.Only had 1 flaw that I didnt even realize. When I had it at a different dealership for oil change, I was going to buy touch up paint. The service manager was looking at my car and noticed few spots not quite right. Turned out after they flew someone from their GM headquarters out to Portland Oregon. He confirmed that my car was one of a select batch that had defective paint jobs. So they put me in a loaner for almost 3 weeks and my Verano had to be completely repainted. Since they contract that out, I was lucky enough to get a way better paint job than manufacturer. So as of just 2 months ago I finally got the car I always wanted but its usually way too expensive for my taste lol. I saw a 2014 Buick LaCrosse fully loaded and a premium pearl diamond paint job heads up display. This car was $47, 000 brand new. It was a one owner lease and had incredibly low miles on it. It still looked and smelled new. They were selling it for $21.000. I didnt hesitate I knew it wouldnt last long.. So far Im in heaven with my LaCrosse. I really cant find anything wrong with it. Its powerful, very quiet, feels sporty as well as elegant and comfortable... FINGERS CROSSED! So, obviously Ive had opportunity to change brands but I really do like Buick. I had never driven or owned one before 2012. Unless Buick introduces another great model I really want. I may most likely change to a different look and feel. I hope this helps anyone with questions or doubts.

It cranks right back up but the Security light comes on and about ten minutes after that, the engine light comes up. It seems to run better after the engine light comes on, which I figured is the computer trying to correct something that is wrong. I had just bought a 2019 Buick Encore 7 months ago. Last week I was in a head on collision that saved myself along with the other four passages in my car. I selected this car for several reason, but one main reason was because of its safety. At the time of the head on collision all 8 or 9 airbags deployed immediately which saved all of our life’s along with wearing our seatbelts. My Buick was so beautiful inside and out and if I ever have the chance to buy me another one I will. We all were so blessed to be alive after the hard impact from the other car. Looking at my car after the accident one would wonder if the driver or passenger survived. We all had some bruising, cuts, and some loss of hearing out of my right ear, but my beautiful 2019 Buick Encore saved our life’s that day. It’s because of my Buick we are all living today. I contacted Nimnicht Buick-GMC about a pre-owned vehicle. After a week of email correspondence, phone calls, and online credit applications, I went into the dealership. Once I arrived at the dealership, I was asked for a $500 down payment. I refused to do this as this was not what we had previously agreed upon. As with many auto dealerships, they told me what they thought I wanted to hear to get me to come in. I refuse to make the down payment because I felt I was totally misled for an entire week. Jason ** and Elizabeth ** were the individuals I dealt with. I went to a dealership less than a mile from my home and purchased the vehicle I desired. We bought our 2013 Buick Regal brand new from Castle Buick in North Riverside IL. We purchased the car thinking the 4 cyl. engine would be more economical than our Chevy V6 cyl. Impala. The Buick 4 cyl. has yet to come even close to the E.P.A. mileage ratings and after 60000 miles still cant touch the overall mileage of the Impala V6. At 32000 miles we had to replace right rear wheel bearings and a engine pulley that turns the pumps. Which the dealer Castle Buick replaced under warranty. Then a few thousand miles later the wheel bearing went out again. The dealer replaced the bearing for real this time under warranty. Now 69000 miles the engine pulley went out again and the dealer claims its out of Warranty even for the one they replaced at 36000 miles 20 months later and charged us $443.00. Very disappointed in the Buick Regal and Castle Buick. Ill think twice about another Buick. Honda here I come.

I firmly believe that if word gets out , they did mine, that there will be others banging on their doors with legal representationI was very professional and nice ,I stated ,and not even a percentage ,their response ,we are not changing our decision. Whats upsetting is that this is a known issue. Original review:I ordered a 2011 Buick LaCrosse CXL AWD, it is a loaded vehicle, almost every option, it has and always will be garaged, maintained by buick, it is always clean and washed, waxed, and maintained, looks like brand new. In and out, in early June of 2019, I noticed paint coming off my vehicle in flakes, I luckily have a close friend who has a auto body shop near me, he saw it and was totally surprised to see paint flaking off the vehicle on the left side rear roof area and on the right side rear defroster glass body channel area, the rear glass had to be removed for repaint, headlines dropped, and repaired as necessary, its like new, since the auto body shop my friend owns is very professional.I reached out to General Motors with pictures and a estimate, they denied any repairs due its age, and not even a percentage, buick offered and gave me $100.00 as a service voucher. The vehicle has received many compliments on how it looks and drives, this is my vehicle, my last vehicle, and I maintain it like new. The repairs actually came to $2400.00Funny thing is that it is white, and GM had a problem then on white and silver cars due to the paint flaking off due to improper application of primer, and Mary T Barra had buick executive office reach out to me, which they never did, I reached out to her, and she appeared to read a pre scripted letter on paint, little does she know, I have been around cars for a long time, from Chevrolet, Ford and I recently retired from a BMW dealership after 19.5 years and she is telling me how it is, the problem is, general motors offered nothing, not even a percentage on something that they knew and know was a problem.

Buick corporation and GM Corporation you guys have the nerve to send my a survey asking my opinion of the service from my dealership. Well lets see. You guys have had my car almost as much as I have considering my car has been to the dealership 13 times and you all still cant seem to fix it. Hire people who know what they are doing. Buick corporation you guys are the biggest ** of all. Ive contacted you all twice concerning this car and you all have basically told me keep working with the dealership even after explaining your certified dealership cant seem to fix the issue. So I will say this. People stay away. This cars are junk. They will sell you a certified lemon. It will say certified car which is suppose to mean as good as any new car. It should really have stated certified lemon garbage rolling nightmare, POS that no one will ever fix because they dont know the issue. Do not contact Buick Corp because you will be wasting your time as they true just want you to keep bringing your car in replace parts that shouldnt need replacing and by time its all said and done you could have purchased a new car because by time you truly find the problem you will have spent more money fixing the rolling POS that they certified.

Buick has a lot of different colors, sizes and engine performance. The appearance is important because you have to enjoy what you’re driving. This vehicle has a very attractive look that people compliment all the time as well as features that accommodates my driving experience. Having the ability to upgrade certain features and parts helps me to customize my vehicle so it really gives me a great peace of mind that I made the right choice and I know it fits my personality. You have the ability to test drive different types of vehicles to make sure you find the right fit and feel. Knowing that you can give friends and family a fun ride or go on trips and knowing there is enough room for everyone to fit is a luxury and a great thing that this vehicle has and much more.

When I scheduled a routine oil change, the service writer recommended changing transmission fluid at 50000 miles. Three days after this was done, my transmission completely stopped. They persistently denied that the procedure caused the transmission failure or even that they should have seen the problem when doing the fluid work. They charged over 3600 for the new transmission on top of what I had already paid for the fluid. After I complained to GM about this, they contacted the dealers customer relations department. The decision was to refund half of the cost of the new transmission. The dealers representative said the refund was coming because I had been a good customer, still not admitting the obvious cause. The check was to be sent in about a week. Nearly three weeks have passed and no refund has been received. Please note this review concerns the above incident, not my overall satisfaction with my Buick. As far as I know, installation of the new transmission was successful.

I was waiting at a signal in my 2015 Buick Enclave, I heard a loud boom. I looked thru the rear view mirror as I heard the sound of the glass shattering then it exploded. The glass exploded into my car, landing on the front seat, mid row seat and on the dashboard. The lady behind me witnessed the whole thing. She said nothing hit my car window as we looked for signs of anything on the ground and in the car. Im so thankful my children (who love the third row) were not in the car.

I purchased a 2018 Regal TourX in August of 2018. On December 8th while parked the car was hit from behind. My hatch was damaged. That week the dealership requested parts. We received a call from the dealership stating that A new hatch was not available and there was no known date for delivery of the part. They asked if I wanted to have them bump out the dents and do a body and paint repair. I said no, it was a brand new car. I wanted the new part. I didn’t want to deal with corrosion down the road. The first of January the dealership called and suggested we escalate our problem to Buick Customer Service. We did. It took 2 weeks to speak to someone at customer service. She stated she would called me back within 3 business days. She didn’t. After 5 days I started calling her. I could not reach her. I left several messages over the next week and finally heard from a ‘Senior Care representative. She took the details again and said she would call me back in two days. She did not. After 3 I started calling her and leaving messages. I finally spoke with her after a few days and told her that I wanted to talk with someone higher up the chain than her. She said I could not speak with that person directly but she could. She said she would speak to him and then follow up with me within two business days. She did not. I called her and left messages. I finally spoke to her yesterday and she had this follow up information for me: the Manager she spoke with said I had been offered a repair at the dealership that was adequate and I chose not to take it. Because of that and the fact that this is not a warranty issue it’s not a high priority for Buick and they would not release a part from production for the repair. The part is on backorder indefinitely. We’ve owned 7 Buicks in the course of our marriage as well as 5 Pontiacs and a few Chevys. We build vehicles for the emergency rescue vehicle market. I can not imagine delivering a message like that to any customer. Buick, I am so disappointed in you.

I bought a 2010 Buick LaCrosse from Ewing Buick Plano, TX on 12/29/2010 off
I bought a 2010 Buick LaCrosse from Ewing Buick Plano, TX on 12/29/2010 off the showroom floor. Not being told that this car was in an accident totaling $5600.00 on 10/09/2009 on the right side of the car, 2 doors and front fender was replaced. I have located the body shop manager that was there at the time and he remembers the car and what happened to it. The owner of Ewing Buick loaned this car to his housekeeper to clean his house and his mother’s house at the time. She was in an alleyway and a homeowner came out of his driveway not seeing her and hit the LaCrosse on the passenger side. The car was repaired at Ewing Buick and then back out on showroom floor to sell. When I walked into Ewing Buick on 12/29/10 to buy a car, Rosemary was my sales representative, a very nice person. She did tell us, my husband and me, that the car had a dent on the front bumper, but it was fixed so they would take off a $1000.00 for that. Also, she had Randy, the finance officer, to come in and tell me about the dent on the bumper also. I guess to make sure I was aware of it. My husband and I both said that Rosemary told us about it. I asked how it happened and the excuse given to us was that the car was being cleaned up and the porter did not realize he had hit the post. My husband and I did not think anything about it because they fixed the bumper. But this is a far cry from the wreck that really happened on 10/09/2009 that we were not told about. We found all this out because I was in an accident on 10/20/2011 this year. I was pinned inside this car for 45 minutes because the doors would not unlock. I had to be cut out of this car with the jaws of live. After I got out of the car everyone was surprised the air bags did not come out on the driver’s seat. I had the car taken to Ewing Buick for repairs because that is where I bought it from. About 3 weeks into fixing the car, we got a call from our insurance company telling us this car was in another wreck on 10/ 2009 we told them no because we had bought this car off the show room floor on 12/29/2009. Allstate pulled the VIN and said that it was in another wreck totaling $5600.00. My accident cost about $ 7700.00, replacing 2 doors and back fender on the left side of the car. I went to Ewing Buick on 12/28/2011 to talk to them about the wreck on 10/09/2009 and the General Manager was rude and said that they did tell me and my husband about the wreck. So I am now asking for General Motors to look into this dealership and how it is being run. They did not tell us about the wreck in 2009. I have now contacted Rosemary and she is willing to help us and tell that we were not told about this wreck at anytime. Also, I have Michael, the ex body shop manager, to tell everything about this car also. All I want is for Ewing Buick to make this right. I will get a lawyer if I need to and I will also have Channel 8 and 5 to do a little more on looking into this also if I need to. We are coming to them because we have always bought their cars and would want to continue.

I purchased my 2014 Buick Verano in November 2014 and now have almost 7,500 miles on the car. I just love it, I have noticed like a previous comment about the transmission shifting. I just love my new car and I had many GM vehicles in the past and will continue to purchase GM products in the future. I love the design inside and out. GM has a best-seller here with the Buick Verano. I just cant get over that they should have thought of this car earlier. Keep up the great work GM.

I have owned my Rainier for 4 1/12 years and have recently had issues with the air suspension system. As I drive or when it’s parked, the vehicles rear end drops, which causes headaches and stomach pain from the bouncing around as I drive. I have researched this issue and found numerous complaints with the same issue. I have taken very good care of the vehicle, and feel that Buick/GM should cover the costs of the repair, since this is a default/defect in the manufacturing of the vehicle and no fault of my own. I am paying a 450.00 monthly car payment that I feel is a LEMON, and I am very frustrated, embarrassed, and dismayed.

Bought a 2016 Buick Verano for my son. Monday morning he was coming home going 65 miles per hour. The car stalled or completely turned off. He managed to get to the emergency lane. Today is January 4, 2017. This car was purchased on November 29, 2016. His first payment isnt due till January 13. He called the dealership. They wanted him to bring it in the next day. I talked to the salesman. They got him a loaner car for Monday. They called me today and said there were no codes and they took it out to drive and everything is OK. Well its not OK for me. They have no idea whats wrong. The GM rep at the dealer told me the same thing Ive seen on other sites. No codes no problem it drives OK. Finally this car had 29 miles on it when bought it. Now has just under 300 and the first payment hasnt been made yet. My son is worried about driving the car. I hope this isnt a lemon.

I purchased a 2010 Buick Lacrosse in July of 2010 and since I have bought it I have spent over $5000.00 in repairs in addition to warranty repairs that were covered. My check engine light came on and I was given a list of codes that were causing the problem. I fixed all recommended issues, only to have the light come on again a day later. I was given the run around about how that one light controls hundreds of components and that the dealership would fix it. The next day I was given the bogus excuse that because the area where my tank was located had been dented that I needed to replace the fuel tank reservoir because that was causing the problem. I took my car to a non GM dealer and was told it was something going on with my engine. I took my car back only to be told that it was my timing chain after I raised all kinds of hell about the erroneous diagnostics. After that repair, maybe a month later my car starts overheating and I was told that it was my water pump and that was going to be an additional $1200! I am so sick of this car that it is pathetic! I thought about trading the car in towards the purchase of another but with all the invested money on repairs, I feel like Im losing! I would never buy another Buick. I own a Lexus and BMW and have never had these kinds of problems. I love the body style and luxury of the car but the mechanical issues are too much for me. It seems that the quality of these parts are sub-par and below industry standards, just listen out for all the recalls that GM lists every month seems like! Imagine the other numerous issues that get swept under the rug only to be footed by the consumers. GM will lose a lot of its potential customer base with these mechanical concerns because anyone that asks about the performance of my car gets an earful thats surely able to deter them from buying one!

There are several models of Buick including models from luxurious to very economical and from small to large. The distinct look of the buick vehicles can be identified by an emblem containing four objects and four or five openings on both sides of the hood which covers the engine compartment. There are also a lot of upgrade and personalization options available including types of engines and body styles and safety features. Many of the features that come standard are tire pressure checks, compass indicators and radios. In my Buick Lucerne it is difficult to get three passengers in the front seat because of the console between the driver seat and the passenger seat, but there is ample room for 3 people in the back seat and there is a very large luggage compartment.

The Buick Enclave for my family of six has given me nothing but problems. My check engine light would stay on majority of the time. It use to sound like something up under the vehicle was loose because it would rattle really badly. Whenever you started the truck up, it would make a loud roaring sound and grinding when making a left hand turn. My heat/air went out. All of the warning signals began lighting up. My front driver tire would always go low; but I was told by the dealership that the passenger back tire sensor needed to be replaced. The list goes on and on, but now it has been inoperable and parked in front of my garage since May 4, 2017. I had just got the vehicle used from a car lot; that had just purchased it from the dealership next door to them that morning. The downside was that it was purchased AS IS and with no extended warranty. The worst part is that it was purchased to replace a car that I had just lost, due to a total loss of being in an accident where I was not the at fault driver. I went months without a vehicle after being forced to turn in the rental. Now, my family has to endure being without a running vehicle now for almost a year. It is extremely unethical on GMs part because they were already aware of many of their plethora of models/years before they even started. Now, my family has been going in debt to pay for a vehicle that we cannot drive. I have been forced to turn down temp jobs because the strain of lack of multiple public transit routes not coinciding with job schedules. Most people in social media groups have been bragging about at last getting rid of their money pit vehicles. I wish that was even an option for me. However, if I was even able to afford to get it fixed, I would still be taking a major loss with the $4000 that I put down plus the loan payments that we are currently still making in addition to when I was still making full coverage insurance payments. That could have been going towards the loan payments, repairs, or even another vehicle.

2014 Buick Regal GS - First, the good about the car. It has a really nice ride and the 4 cyl turbo has plenty of power, and I come from owning vehicles with over 400 horsepower (only because I want a vehicle to do what I want it to do when I need it to do it). The Regal is nimble, agile, and comfortable even on long drives. Sound system is ok (underpowered) and I have the premium bose system (actually every option available). The bad… After about 6 months, the dash started squeaking (for lack of a better term) and rattling and I found that the trim ring around the instrument cluster is seemingly just pressed in, therefore the two plastic pieces hit each other at certain vibration thresholds. Also the center console below the radio and controls is pressed in, probably using some kind of sticky tape that is not very sticky, and it squeaks, ANNOYINGLY.The Gracenote audio software seems to take everything available in the usb, sd card, and smartphone audio inventory and initializes it each and every startup because if you play music from say the phone, then get out of the car, say to shop for a few, then get back in, it cant remember where you were at. So many pain in the ** things with the implementation of the interface that I cant believe it was actually released to the public. Seems like it was developed in a vacuum, meaning without any input from people that use media devices. A child could have tested these things. I also added about 150 lbs of batting in different areas of the car (hollow spots). Youd be amazed at what GM calls soundproofing or sound dampening. The Regal, while it looks nice and there are several other nice things I could say about it, such as whoever designed the exterior and specd the wheels and tires as well as the ground clearance in the front (so you dont rip off very expensive plastic underneath the car when parking) did a good job, also the steering wheel is a great improvement over the 2013… Anyway, one of my real concerns with quite a few cars is that it is 2015 and we still have vehicles that have chrome in either the WRONG place, or angled poorly and at certain times of the day, practically blind anyone in the front seats. This isnt just for short periods of time, say when the sun is directly overhead, or at exactly 6pm pst in the bay area California, no, this is most of the day. It was so bad I removed mine, shift trim and painted it.Follow up pics for my review showing the materials used to dampen sound in the Regal cabin. Just a small example, there are several others. Look at the little accordion style batting used in what is a very large space inside the rear trunk covers.
