Bayerische Motoren Werke AG, commonly referred to as BMW, is a German multinational corporate manufacturer of luxury vehicles and motorcycles headquartered in Munich, Bavaria, Germany.

What's the point of driving an electric vehicle if everyone doesn't know it's electric? Well, the 2020 BMW i3 makes sure that never happens with its chunky and funky bodywork. Likewise, its odd exterior is offset by an upscale albeit unusual interior that has generous room up front and less than generous space in back. In addition to its standard all-electric, rear-drive powertrain, which provides up to 153 miles of range on a single charge, the boxy BMW can be equipped with a gas-powered engine that provides more range and less anxiety. Although the 2020 i3 looks more interesting than the Tesla Model 3, it costs a lot more than a Chevy Bolt EV, and it has a much shorter driving range than both and therefore less appeal.

Product Reviews:

I am sending this complaint because I would like to leave a precedent in relation to BMW's poor service (customer service, car technical service department, and the financial department). When I got my car lease BMW in 2016, I got the tire and wheel protection they offered me. But it was the worst decision I took. This protection never cover me beside is the worst protection according with the policy. I got the tires and Wheels insurance which covered any damage that might arise. A few weeks ago I saw the need to carry my car because the screen showed that the tires on the back of the car were with air deficit, in addition to a physical malformation that we noticed one of the wheels (bowel). After reviewing it in the service, they came to the conclusion that the two rear tires had to be changed, but that the insurance only covered one, and the other would not be covered because it did not have a hole or a nail. Irresponsible situation on the part of them, taking into account that if I had continued with that car because of that bad physical formation of the tire I could have exposed myself to having an accident that could possibly have generated death or physical damage. I explained the situation and obtained the advice of both mechanics, lawyers, and BMW employees, who concluded that they did not know why I had not covered the insurance. Finally pay to be able to withdraw my car. Now I receive a bill where I have to pay the dealer's fee in addition to a remaining payment. I think BMW irresponsible, because in my case I was forced to deliver the car before the time because I did not feel safe driving a car in which I had no guarantees. Because of this, I am in the process of sending a complaint to the BBB or consult it having illegal process initiated. Thank you.

I purchased an R1200 ST in March 2011. The bike was not serviced or registered in my name upon delivery, and came without the spare key. A week later, the clutch gave in. It was only three weeks later before the registration and an agreement to repair the bike were done. After the second wash, scratches appeared on the tank and covers. A long debate and threats ensued to have the bike repaired, with a promise that it would receive priority treatment. A month later, the bike was delivered without keys, service book and the same scratches. The keys were delivered two days later at 02:00 in the morning. Currently, I'm trying to locate my service book from the dealer with no response. BMW SA refused to assist me with my original complaint, and now with the service book. The product may be good, but the after-sale service in South Africa is non-existent.

I recently purchased a 2008 530I with light front damage. Luckily I had taken electronics in high school and 300ZX's had first EFI Computers, Digital, dashes, vibrating seats, Turbochargers, alarms, 145MPH shut offs. I bought like new wrecked cars, stripping the electronics out immediately, keeping them from the weather, giving me testing equipment and quickly made me famous around Kentucky and Indiana. When I saw the dealer bills, (Thousands) I raised my prices up a little and bought more nice wrecked cars. My 2008 BMW calls for a $950.00 positive battery terminal, in order to start from the ignition. It took me two weeks to read online about how BMW had gone crazy on parts prices and dealer ripoffs. They are crazy on parts prices now. I fixed it for 200, the dealer wants 1,500 including reprogramming the car. You must have a special tool to install into the plug for the troubleshooting device to save the programs $100.

My 2006 330xi has been a great car. My warranty expired after four years. During the four years of covered issues including replacement of tires twice (very loud run flats) and replacement of chrome around the windows that oxidized, I was still a happy owner. I noticed that the rubber strip that meets my windshield and the top of my car was flaking off of the car. I called my dealer, BMW Devon Hill. First, I was insulted on the telephone when the service technician asked me if my car was outdoors. Then, I brought the car in and he looked at the problem and showed it to the manager, and when I returned, I was told that I was out of warranty. He was kind enough to give me an 800 number to call. Why he didn't go any further to help me is the first complaint I have.I spoke to a very nice girl over a period of 10 days who also told me that I was out of warranty and basically told me to have a nice day. I wrote a letter to BMW. Someone called. That was a miracle. He asked me a few questions, called back, and had the same final decision. My complaint is the rubber probably cost about $5, if that and the labor might be 10 to 15 minutes. This automobile, ultimate driving machine cost me $42,000, and once I went out of warranty, it was, "Goodbye. You're out of warranty." I couldn't be more disappointed. I would never buy another BMW for something as small as this problem. I was insulted and basically dismissed by everyone. I think this is terrible public relations, customer service, call it whatever you want.

I have owned my 1995 BMW 740i since I graduated High school and received it as a graduation gift. The car now has 145,000 miles on it and is still running. BUT along the way it has developed bad valves and valve guides, the transmission has started to shift hard sometimes and I believe it has developed a rod knock. Yes the car is exceptionally comfortable and all the electronics still work, and is very fun to drive for a 2.2 ton luxury sedan, but a $65,000 car should not have these kinds of issues at 145,000 miles. These cars are very complicated and do have problems as a result, but they should not be having MAJOR mechanical problems 3/4 of the way through their life. I also realize that if you're going to drop that kind of money on a car you should be able to afford the repairs, and luckily I can, but I shouldn't have to!! I just want a luxury car that isn't in the shop every week, my Mercedes was a COMPLETE piece of junk (and it was new) and my 3 year old Audi's tanny went out at 56,000 miles. So it's sad to say but honestly my BMW has been my most reliable, and that's not saying much.

BMW has got the american car makers in the dust. The quality of materials used and the construction of the vehicle is far superior. If you look at the American workmanship is it so much inferior to the Germans. We need to upgrade our workforce in order to be competitive with other markets i.e. Germany, Japan.

BMW really needs to extend the warranty in these HPFP for E60. In less than 6 months I'm on my second pump paying out of my pocket because they didn't make it good enough! And vehicle has 133K so warranty didn't cover it. Was in 127,000 first time and now back at it again! I'm really been left down from BMW! I have to say people TO STAY AWAY FROM E60's!!! It's not worth it!

Got a flat on tires "designed" to go 50 miles, but only got 5 miles before it was on the rim. Didn't know I didn't have a spare... never told me when leasing my 2014 X5. The nice lady on the roadside assistance call, said that she would send a tow truck to tow my car 60 miles (I would have to pay and be reimbursed by BMW) to the nearest dealer, but that unfortunately, since it was Sunday night and I was 150 miles from home, in the rain, that I would have to find a place to stay. Again at my expense, and find a way to get to that dealer, 60 miles away and get my car back on Monday sometime.... I didn't, called friends who came and fixed the flat. Then on Monday BMW said "sorry for your inconvenience, expense and disappointment.... but that's the way it is," and the expense of the tire, rim, and service was mine... since I didn't have insurance. THIS IS MY 4th BMW (all had spares). THIS IS MY LAST BMW.

The financial employee did an excellent job going over all details. We only disagreed on one thing. I wanted to pay off quickly but she wanted me to carry it a while longer. I paid it off quickly. I have always had great service with this company.

The car is beautiful, the customer service is bad. I called when my first lease is up. After so many calls, I thought we solved the problem. I leased another one and everything was okay. Now I tried to lease another one, because my 2017 lease ended. They are telling me that I owed them money from 2014 lease. I called to resolve the issue, they were rude and arguing. They keep telling me different stories. I do not recommend it at all. I think i am going bake to Audi. I tried them before, they were a lot better.
