Audi A6 Avant E-Tron concept cuts a sharp electric line to the immediate future
Posted On: March 16, 2022
Audi revealed the A6 Avant E-Tron concept on Wednesday. The sleek wagon concept previews an electric production model that won't be sold in North America, though its platform will underpin a wide range of electric vehicles to be sold globally by Audi in the coming years.  “With the Audi A6 Avant e-tron concept, we are offering a completely tangible look at future production models on our new PPE technology platform,” Oliver Hoffman, Audi board member for technical development, said in a statement. Audi A6 Avant E-Tron concept The PPE, or Premium Platform Electric, represents the latest battery electric platform in the Audi family. The first was a flexible MLB Evo platform that underpins many gas and electrified Audi vehicles, and launched the Audi E-Tron SUV for 2019 and, later, the E-Tron Sportback. For a while, the Audi E-Tron was the only electric SUV rival to the Tesla Model X. The Audi E-Tron GT performance sedan shares the J1 electric platform with the Porsche Taycan. Then there's the Audi Q4 E-Tron riding on Volkswagen Group's MEB platform that underpins the parent company's ID lineup of electric cars.   Audi sold more than 82,000 electric models globally in 2021, representing a growth of 57%, Audi PR manager Josef Schlossmacher said in a press briefing.  But PPE will be the volume electric platform for the brand moving forward. Developed under Audi's leadership, PPE will serve the electric successors to the A4 and A5 compacts, and A6 and A7 mid-size cars. Schlossmacher said this "family of fully electric production cars," launches with the 2023 Audi Q6 E-Tron mid-size crossover model coming later this year.   Audi A6 Avant E-Tron concept The Avant E-Tron appears to be the crown jewel in the royal E-Tron family, at least in concept form.  Like the related Audi A6 E-Tron concept that debuted in April 2021, the razor-sharp A6 Avant E-Tron concept features a long wheelbase, short overhangs, and a low height of 55 inches. Measuring 195 inches long and 76 inches wide, and rolling on large 22-inch wheels with seemingly no-profile tires, the Avant E-Tron has muscular proportions wrapped in a futuristic design. The dimensions mirror the current A6 and A7, but Audi touts a low co-efficient of drag of 0.24 on the Avant E-Tron concept (the A6 E-Tron sedan is 0.22).  The aerodynamics should translate to greater efficiency and increased range in the production version. The Avant houses a 100-kwh battery pack stretched within the long wheelbase. The low flat floor and lack of a transmission tunnel should provide more passenger and cargo space than in the A6/A7 gas variants. A single motor powers the rear axle, but future A6 Avant E-Trons could house a motor on the front axle for all-wheel drive, as in other E-Tron models. Combined, the AWD model would produce 476 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque.  With the single motor, Audi claims a range of 435 miles on the generous European WLTP cycle. It could be 10-20% less on the EPA cycle. More certainly, the PPE architecture relies on 800-volt charging technology, and Audi says it can be charged from 5-80% in less than 25 minutes on fast charger at a maximum rate of 270 kw.  Audi didn't completely shut the door on an A6 Avant E-Tron coming to North America, with reps responding with a non-committal, "Never say never." And gas Audis aren't going away, either. “We will have a parallel offer in coming years with a classic internal combustion engine," Schlossmacher said. "The speed of transformation in some markets due to charging infrastructure are not yet on a synchronized speed. We want customers in those markets to be able to drive an Audi.”

I was very excited when I purchased my first Audi which was a brand new 2020 Audi Q3. I had been wanting an Audi for quite some time, however this has by far been the worst car purchase I have ever experienced. I bought this car in June of 2020 and today is 8/13/2020 and today marks the 3rd time I have to drop this brand new car off for servicing. I hadnt even driven the car 500 miles yet before I got an error message stating system malfunction. I shut off the car and restarted it and few minutes later, same error message.Took it for servicing and supposedly they fixed it after a week or so but few days later after driving my vehicle, got the same error message. The second time I took it in, they kept my car for 22 days and replaced the turbo and again while leaving I was told that the issue was resolved. Got my car back and then few days later, I got the same error message. I am beyond dissatisfied with my purchase and this was least expected. I am very turned off and would never ever purchase another Audi and would never recommend an Audi to anyone. I wish I could just return this car. HIGHLY DISSATISFIED WITH AUDI AND SUPER FRUSTRATED.

I must say that the Audi Q5 is a car that you feel healthy, although the German car is equipped with lots of electronic devices but rarely car seizures”. After 4 years of use, I still see the vehicle smoothness and quality as when they were new. Crisp exterior, handsome much thanks, partly angled grille at large. Generally very satisfied.

I have been a customer of Mercedes for many years and decided this time to buy an Audi as I have a big dog that likes to travel with me so I tried the Q5. The car itself is fine but the service and follow up from Audi is horrific. The GPS system has never worked on the car, the maps are all outdated. When I called to get it updated I was told it would cost $795! to fix something that never worked on a brand new car! The same for spare keys (if you happen to loose a set) - $600 to replace! There is never a loaner car when the car goes in for scheduled maintenance and the staff (Audi in Osborne Park, Western Australia) are abrupt and apathetic. I will never buy another Audi in my life - back to Mercedes for us next time.

My story is very similar to the one from Denise, Chatham, NJ. I therefore will not repeat all the problems I had with my Audi A4 2009. This is the short form. I owned 5 Audis. I have always been an avid fan. I purchased my latest A4 new in 2009. The car turned out to have one problem after another. In 2013, at 55,000 miles I brought the A4 to the Audi dealer gain. Flow Motor in Greensboro, NC. I told them that the oil consumption is way too high. (I have done so at all previous service visits.)Well in front of other customers I was told in a lengthy lecture that I was wrong. Topping of oil is quite normal, I was told. In fact I was treated like and idiot and so embarrassed that I dropped the subject. Instead of addressing my concern about the oil consumption the technician told me that I need a new manifold, new water pump and other items which were not covered by the warranty. Later I found out about the class action lawsuit and the fact that a lot of Audi owners had the same problem with excessive oil consumption. Brought the A4 back to have this oil leak fixed according to the class action lawsuit. Guess what? Now the technician thinks the oil is consumed by the turbo and this has to be fixed first, for about $ 2500 before he can work on the other oil leak. This just does not sound right. Again, I reported high oil consumption already in 2013, but was told this is normal. Now it is not normal anymore and a $ 2500 cost to me. My oil consumption was always the same from the first year to now about a quart per 400 miles. I do not trust the dealer nor the car anymore. My only desire is to get rid of it as fast as I can.

Car looks great and modern in every model. It doesnt look outdated or ugly and I would recommend. The colors dont make it look tacky or cheap. The shiny sleek exterior is reflective upon my money spent. The cost of buying this car is rather high and the look should appear to be classy as well. I thought it was great that this car had a variety of customizations and personalizations that fit my needs and wants. I believe that they met every standard I had set. The car does fit five people but Ive managed to fit six. I think that it does offer more space than what it seems to be. Everybody is comfortable and happy regardless.

I bought an Audi 3 in July 2010. After only a few months, I already noticed a problem with the oil. There was always a red warning light. After referring the problem to Germany, they replaced all the piston rings and engine gasket. They have also replaced the battery, and recently, the ignition switch, because the car would not start after several attempts. It was very embarrassing to have an Audi, which only over a year old, to be towed because it wont start. With all these abnormal malfunctions in a 16 month old car, it is obviously a lemon. Of course, the car dealer would not admit that it is defective. I am demanding a replacement, but they refused. I was informed that the 2-year warranty covers only parts and service, but not replacement . It is totally disappointing to have a car that claims to have high end technology, but would not start! Is there no manufacturers warranty from Audi? I no longer want to use a car that can compromise my safety!

Purchased a new vehicle and was convinced by my dealer to finance through Audi in order to get a credit off the purchase price. Asked if there was a payoff penalty and was assured there was none. After the 2 month waiting period required for Audi Financial to establish the account, I contacted them for a payoff quote. This is only good for 10 days. In that period of time, I re-financed through my credit union and had them send a check directly to Audi Financial. Audi claims they never received the first check, so my credit union issued a second check which was received. Unfortunately, Audi Financial did not honor the first pay off amount so due to the interest accrual, I continued to get statements with Balance Due = $0.00.After the 3rd statement of this type, I contacted Audi Financial and they said that they had not put the check from my credit union as a pay off amount. They just put the money towards my payments and my next payment wasnt due until Jan 19, 2023 (the last payment). But my vehicle was still not technically paid off. In the last phone conversation I had with Audi Financial, I was told that they had received the first check but there was a problem with the account number so they didnt apply it to the loan - which would have paid off my loan. Seems like it was very intentional in order to get more interest from the loan/financing. Although there is not a technical charge for paying off the loan at Audi Financial, it seems that they have ways of getting the most interest possible from their customers. I love my Audi vehicle, but I will never use Audi Financial again.

Car failed the oil consumption test in April 2016 full rebuild of engine followed. Never ran right since. Have been back 4 times with cylinder 3 misfire code. Dealer changed Coils, injectors. New spark plugs. Now Im told it is carbon build up on the intake valves, and it needs to come apart again to clean the valves. They had it apart 3 times and no mention of carbon. Carbon build up is called contamination so the extended warranty policy I purchased from them (Fidelity) does not cover this. Fuel injector cleaner, like Sea Foam will prevent this if used periodically. This is not mentioned in any Maintenance schedule. Lost all faith in the Audi mechanics I had my local mechanic de-carbon the valves with NO results 78,000 miles on the car and I am at a loss. Lemon laws dont cover it. Next step is NY AG and small claims.

I have a 2015 Audi A5, with 26400 miles on it. I purchased the car with 11,000 miles on it in April. I began experiencing a LOUD brake squeaking 2 weeks ago. It squeaks when I lightly apply the brakes. The service department at Audi told me that the brake pads only had 10% wear so its Not the Pads. They then told me that I would need to drive about 60 mph or FASTER, then apply the brakes... I am NOT going to try this dangerous and potentially deadly act.I think that there is a design issue that must be addressed. I have owned probably 12 cars in my life and NEVER has this happened with no answer. The lemon law in Illinois is quite clear and I actually received a new car because of this law. I am sure there are other owners that has the same issues... We must start writing to Audi and people who can help... This must get resolved. Im ready to drive the car to the dealer and leave it there until its resolved. I know that this is a non warranty issue but there is an obvious defect.

I got this Audi etron with the security that I would have access to 150kw charging stations that would charge my car in 30 minutes (this is what audi is advertising on their website and what the sales person told me). This was a lie and they dont exist on the East Coast. You are lucky if you can find 1 nearby. The fastest charging time for my audi when its on 26% is an 1hr and 15 minutes on the only supercharge stations that exist which are 50kw (and if few of these exist, only 15 hour level 2 charging stations). This means if I want to go out of states I can not because it will add an extra 5 hours just to charge the car because unlike the sales guy told me it does not give you 250 miles but 204 miles (this depends on how fast you drive, if you are going uphill, and if you turn on the AC). They also sold me the brand new vehicle with all 4 safety handles missing. I am not comfortable driving the car because if something as simple as safety handles was missed what else could have been missed. I reached out to Bryan who was suppose to be helping me from the customer experience department and he told me there is nothing they can do. The car works fine and the service department is fixing the handles. I informed him that they did not fix or check my car but only took pictures. I informed him that I wanted a copy of my the final results that he told me over the phone and I am yet to receive this in writing so I can pursue litigation. They are trying to wipe their hands on selling me $100,000 car. And now I will fight them in court and I wont ever get another Audi vehicle. Getting this E-tron is the biggest nightmare of my life and neither Audi or the dealership are trying to help me by taking this useless overly priced vehicle back.

I am so disappointed and disgusted with my 2009 Audi A5 that I cannot even express how bad my Audi experience is so far. I should have stayed with my Mercedes Benz. I took my car to the Audi dealership to get my window fixed and they actually caused 3 more things to break on the car and now I have to pay for it when the car is under warranty?? They put a faulty motor for my window which caused a short and now my xenon headlight is not working and they want me to pay for the headlight which they caused to break. Horrible experience with Audi service. Dealerships have incompetent and badly trained mechanics and customers need to pay for that. I will make sure I will disclose on every page I can to warn customers not to buy an Audi.

Very dissatisfied with the amount of rust on my 2006 Audi A3. Its unbelievable. I see many cars on the road many years older that dont have half the rust mine has accumulated. Its over 500 dollars just to buy the metal for the door. No glass, electric... Etc. Its a wonder if the metal was defective. Now I have an airbag recall. My seats as well have cracked and ripped. That started at 75000 miles.

I went and bought a used B7 RS4 recently - 2007. I have owned multiple Audis over the years and this one takes the cake. I also took mine to Molle Audi in Kansas only to be told that they dont know how to handle RS4. First they said that clutch hose is bad - charged $500 and changed it. Problem persisted so I reported it back to them. Then they charged $900 to change slave cylinder. Problem persisted so I reported it back to them. Their manager said they would have to take transmission apart. I said if I wanted someone to randomly test whats broken, then I would have taken it to someone other than Audi dealership - back road shops.Cons: Very over-hyped. Yes they are amazing. But not when you have to spend serious amounts of money at each maintenance interval - belts, axles, brakes, transmission and engine mounts. Yes, there is a sensor in engine mounts. Get ready to spend some serious dinero. Carbon cleaning has to be done every 20k miles. This is not a Ferrari or Audi R8 or Aventador where I should have to take my car into maintenance for $800 every 20k miles. Of course, gaskets, manifold arm flaps and many other items come into play at the same time. This is a rare car. So dealerships never carry parts for it. If you need anything, it always has to be ordered leaving your car useless for days at the dealership. Even if they overnight it, it still takes too long. Not many can work on it. I took my car to two dealerships (Audi) and they told me bluntly that this is not an everyday car and they would have to consult with someone in Germany. I almost lost my footing. For a car with 420 HP, it sure isnt as fast as cars with 420 HP. An S4 with few bolt-ons becomes just as fast as this - I tested this at a 3.5 mile grand prix track. And they are half the cost. No A4 or S4 will give you a rush like this, but this thing requires constant maintenance where A4/S4 dont. Shoot me but I said it and I owned S4 before this. This is my third Audi and fourth German in the house. MRC shocks go bad and then you have to pay arm and a leg for it. Stock clutch has a problem. Look up transmission clutch issues on B7 RS4. Stock LUK clutch/flywheel combo goes bad after x number of miles based on driving patterns. Lads, this is a 8,200 RPM beast. Why did Audi screw up by using cheap parts? So if you are looking to buy a B7 RS4, make sure it will shift gears above 7,500 rpm from 2nd to 3rd and so on. Also, due to this issue, many RS4s are plagued with Transmission synchro issues - another $1,000 just in parts. Needless to say, resale value already isnt good. Add maintenance headaches to that. My car was in dealership garage more than it was in my own garage. Quattro system is great and has saved many lives. However, it is nothing close to Attesa on Nissan/Infiniti or the AWD system that Mercedes or what Land Rover has. In short, its nothing out of the ordinary. Look up car reviews and be the judge yourself.

I purchased Q7 4.2 2007 in 2006. It was one of the first 1000 made worldwide and I received complimentary maintenance service up to 50K miles. Zoltan ** at Seattle University Audi was very good. So good, we bought another car from him later. :-) I have now (2014) 86K miles on it. I have had some small issues like broken window screen on the left side and stuck screen on the right (so far I have not fixed any). Cracked and eventually separated air filter housing intake (I have used Gorilla tape for that). I have changed brake pads, spark plugs, battery, some light bulbs. All by myself. No major issues. This car is very well made and I am very happy with it. Its heavy on gas, but I already knew that when I bought it. All fluids are done on time, most of the time at Audi dealer. It burns oil, but thats nothing new. Considering mileage, I have not had any serious problems. I am going to keep driving it and see how much longer it will last. Hoping for 300K.

My 5 year old Audi A5 with 54,000 miles needs a new engine due to Audi having fitted a faulty cam shaft adjuster and faulty piston rings. I was getting 200 miles to a litre of oil and the top of the engine being starved of oil due to the faulty cam shaft adjuster. My cars worth £11000 approx. The engine replacement is almost £12000. Having contacted customer services who said theyll try and help with the costs and have now said they wont. The dealer has managed to reduce the cost to £10,250. Im convinced its due to the above mentioned fault recall code 15d6. Im told you cant determine when that engine was made to clarify this. I just thought Id be shown a bit more goodwill as the cars only 5 years old.

There are so many Audi models like A3 R8 Q7 Cabriolet A5 TY SS, so many letter number variations to please the most picky buyer. The different letter number combinations each have distinct factors. I love the Roadster! It is so sporty and sleek with so many extras and small touches that make it distinct. The appearance rivals that of the most opulent cars. You can upgrade by package and any type of upgrade and personalization is available. You have the power to build your perfect car! I got mine fully loaded and was extremely happy with the package. The extras made the entire experience of owning and driving the car a most pleasant one. The car looks mid size to small but fits passengers very comfortably with tons of head and leg room. There is also plenty of storage space.

I have a 2015 Audi A3. I am the only owner of the car. It has 42k. Last week while driving to work, I felt a weird shake, at first I thought I had a flat tire. But I quickly realized that I wasnt that lucky. (insert sad face emoji here). The check engine and EPC (I may have those letters wrong) lights were on. Long story short the car was flatbed towed to the dealership. They gave me a loaner (Q3) and I was on my way. Later that day, they called and said my car had a bad fuel injector. They ordered the part and said my car would be repaired the next day. The next day, I was called and told that while replacing the fuel injector, they discovered that a piston had exploded! They called it a catastrophic engine failure. That is still a little hard to digest. Fortunately, my car is still under warranty. Audi is replacing my whole engine. I own another Audi and I am a fan of the brand. I will comment again when I get my car back, sometime this week. Hopefully, I will be happy.

I was only looking for a certain model, but Audi had so many choices. If you didnt know what you wanted there would be lots to choose from. The decision would not be easy. I got everything I was looking for. If I didnt like the appearance I wouldnt have bought the car. They have all the upgrades you need depending on what youre willing to spend and what you want on your car. The passenger space should be sufficient. Being as I am single, it is not too important to me now. But there is plenty of room for passengers of all sizes.

I bought my Audi A6 a few months ago, and I was happy with it until a few weeks ago in which it started having problem with dash switches and eventually all switches lost their functionality. I could no longer use satellite navigation nor mobile. Because the car is under warranty, I took that to Audi Stafford. I was told that corrosion has developed under the switches! Since it is an outside influence, the warranty does not apply! Such a strange reason to decline the warranty. This is a major problem, and I hope it is a one off. Otherwise, I call that a major design fault. If this is the case, then all Audi having this switching feature needs to be recalled; and I certainly like to know if this is the case. I could not convince the service manager, and that is why I am contacting you.I like to have an explanation and reason why a car of this age (less than 3 years old) must develop corrosion. Bear in mind that corrosion is a gradual process. And now even worse, the Audi is not even accepting to fix the car under warranty. I was very disappointed when I heard that the switches carry no IP rating. That means they are susceptible to humidity, let alone water ingress. If this happens to a Ford Escort, I will still be surprised. We are talking about a top class car, and I do expect minimum requirement. Some time ago, my son dropped my Nokia into the sink. The mobile stopped working for a few days, and then it came back to life.I am dealing with issues like that, and we design electronics and mechanical devices. All PCBs used have an extra water proof cover to prevent it from any ingress and even splash of water. Does Audi protect its internal electronics with anything? I do not like to use any harsh language at all, as this may be a one off case; however, this car must be repaired under warranty.I had another issue like that a few years ago with my other car, Toyota Avensis; and it was not even under warranty (after 6 years) when both of its front lights failed. Toyota finally accepted to repair my car when I wrote to Watch dog and Trading Standard. I appreciate your immediate attention on this matter.

I own a 2013 Audi A6. It came with a 4 year 57,000 mile warranty. My car was perfectly maintained. The engine blew up (ring failed, destroying the block). The car had only 39,000 miles. You would think no problem... Wrong. The warranty had expired by 9 months. So Audi wanted to charge me $10,000 for a new motor. I went through the roof. They then offered to pay half if I bought a $3700 extended warranty (a wash), I said, See you in court. I called corporate and they said if I didnt take the offer they would rescind it. A not so subtle threat. They came back and said, half price and no warranty. Reluctantly I agreed. The way I was treated by the dealership and the company, it’s obvious that Audi does not stand by its product. I highly recommend that any consumer stay away from Audi product. Bad company.

From day one of my purchase I had issues with my A8. Now 4 years later have had heating fail 2xs, suspension fail, windshield leak, electric fail numerous time, bolts come loose in both doors, breaks squeak and be told that is normal. My Audi has had maintenance to it (outside of normal service) every 2 months. Called Audi American to explain my issues. They were able to pull the 16 work orders so they saw my issues were valid. After weeks of dealing with them, I was told that I should go back to where I purchased to see if there are any incentives that could be used to get me into a new car. That is Audi loyalty. Buy a car that is a straight lemon and they will allow you to buy a new car with incentives at the dealership. I will never buy another and highly recommend people to avoid.

I leased my 2014 Audi A6 in April 2014. In less than 2 years, I have had 7 or 8 flat tires. This last tire went flat within 12 hours of being replaced and after driving 3 miles. Audi is now unwilling to replace the tire. Each tire is very expensive and of course extremely time consuming to have all this repair work. I even have to upgrade my AAA membership because I have had so many service calls.

I brought a new Audi A4 in 2013 and it has less than 50K miles on it as of today. Last year in June, the car doesnt accelerate and starts shaking while moving. I had to get it towed to the service shop where and after 3-4 days of tests, they informed me that they would need to fix the engine which would cost anywhere from 5-8K. Given that it was out of warranty, they expected me to bear the costs. It was ridiculous to even think that a premium car like Audi runs into such issues with less than 40K miles (at that time) and that they talk about warranty. It was really shameful and after several calls and discussions, they fixed the issue. However the fear of recurrence has always stayed and I have not been confident to take it for any long drives. And I got it serviced 3-4 months ago (450$ bill) and was praying that it continues to work fine. And again yesterday the car wouldnt start. The EPC lights turn on and again I had to get the car towed to the servicing shop. They now inform me that I should first get the starter plug replaced (845$ - parts and labor) so they can diagnose further as to why the EPC light is on. I dont know what else they are going to come up with tomorrow and the mere thought scares me. So much for a premium car. The car wouldnt even last 50K miles without an issue though I have been getting it serviced on time with Audi service center only. What are my options to pursue further with the Audi care team?

I financed a 2006 A4 Used from Douglas Motors in Summit. In less than two weeks, the headlights keep flickering off. They change one and didnt change the other. While it was still under warranty, I decide to buy the second headlight and have it changed by my personal mechanic ( I also took pictures). I went back to the dealership because the engine light came on. To my surprise, they took a diagnostic from a Volvo and try to pass if off as my Audi, telling me to pay $700 and something dollars for a repair that doesnt belong to my car. I went to my personal mechanic plus Audi to verify. Audi told me they only deal with P codes, whatever that meant. So I ask for a copy of my original diagnostic, they said its wrong and not company policy to disclose the paper work. Right now, my oil pump failed at 64000 miles, and I bought the car 53000 miles. The dealership never change batteries, Ive changed it since I got it. I changed tires. Please, I need help on what to do with this lemon car that Im financing.

I lease an Audi A3, 2018. Within 11 months the car starts to lose power, while driving the car would be going 65 miles then randomly drops to 5 miles then starts back up, in 20-30 seconds. Went to Audi with the problem. They can’t find the problem or mimic the problem so they have the car back. It did it again while driving on the highway??? The car lost power and the driver behind me, switch lane to avoid me and ran into another car. I brought the car to Audi for over 5 months, and nothing can’t be resolved. Spoke to Audi of America, spoke to Terice and she was trying to help me, then she told me the same thing Audi tells their customer, The problem can’t be mimic, so they can’t do anything about it. Audi Q7 3.0 TDI S-line - First my radio went off. A week later my MMI went down. Took it into an auto electric place that said there was an amp that they need to order but I could take my car back, but I wouldnt have any MMI. While driving the car and just leaving the motor way I thought the brakes had failed, then realized the engine had cut out. After 6 hours with my wife and my daughter a recovery truck turn up. We eventually got it back to a local Garage to be told the engine had seized. After phoning around different Audi approved dealers and told Q7 engines are bullet proof. I paid to have my car collected and taken to an Audi garage, to be told after 2 weeks and a new battery that my engine was in deed knackered!!! Insurance won’t cover this… Audi do not want to Know, so I am left paying for a crap pos that now worthless and will cost thousands to repair. Seem I’m not the only one to suffer the fate of the Q7. It’s a 2007 with 82k of mileage. Is this what Audi call Vorsprung Technik… What a load of crap!!!!

Amazing technology. No more car phones in the arm rest. This is touch screen goodness. If you want to tint the windows or put on a 68mm turbo these cars are for you. It was an amazing experience driving this car on a daily basis. Fast, luxury and technology all wrapped into one beautiful car. My year 2010 Audi A4 2.0 TFSI Quattro has started to burn excessive oil due to a design/manufacturing fault. Local dealer in Turkey, Audi Turkey (Dogus Otomotiv) is not responsive with my issue since it is a design problem so should take the manufacturers responsibility. Finally I had to have my cars engine rebuilt by paying 4500 USD to one of the official service point in Ankara, Turkey, last week. Now I am so disappointed about my Audi car and the local dealer of it (and also Audi AG, Germany). Therefore I have started a protesting campaign to make them hear my and thousands of desperate Turkish customers voices. Please send your supports and help me with this campaign to succeed and maybe to change this frustrating situation, causing a huge dissatisfaction and disappointment about the brand AUDI in Turkey.P.S.: You can investigate and check the general look, image/reputation of Audi Turkey/Dogus Otomotiv which is also the local dealer of Volkswagen cars in Turkey especially about their customer satisfaction levels that I believe you also recognize it is very low level. Thanks for your supports and helps. Those may help solving our customer satisfaction problems with our local dealer!

The Audi FSI engines are subject to heavy carbon build up so beware before buying one. My issue that I have beside the carbon build up is the timing chain. My 2007 4.2 Q7 jumps out of timing, causing the SUV to shake at idle speeds, misfire, and turns on the CEL light that makes you fail smog tests. At this time, Audi service center has had the SUV for about 4 -5 weeks and still cant fix the problem. The entire engine has to be dropped to service the 4 chains and chain tensioners, etc. The dealership avoided dropping the engine and we recently found out were trying troubleshooting by moving can adjuster to the another side of engine. They gave us a loaner to use but just want our SUV back and fixed to smog for DMV, then get rid off. The Audi dealership stated that they had to recently service 4 engines that had timing problems and think they will see more as the Q7s age with miles. I just want to know if anyone else has had the same problem with the timing on their Q7 3.0 or 4.2. If so, please contact me. Want to hear your problem and how it was resolved. My miles is about 74,000 miles. I think Audi will need recall or repair or class action suit is needed. 2014 is coming and the 2007-2009 will hit higher mileage and should all have problems with these thin timing chains.

Overall, my husband and I have been very satisfied with the Audi vehicles weve purchased or leased since 2016. Weve owned/leased a 2017 A4, 2017 Q5, 2018 SQ5 and 2018 Q5. Unfortunately, what is very disappointing is Audis lack of customer support or loyalty. A few months ago, my husband unexpectedly passed away leaving me with two leased Audis. Understanding that we did enter into leases with strict lease conditions on these two cars, given my personal situation and that my husband and I had a good history with Audi, I still wanted to see if Audi could help me in any way as I couldnt keep 2 leased vehicles under the present circumstances. I had heard that some car companies are very helpful when a lease holder becomes deceased. Ends up Audi is not one of those car companies and they were of absolutely no help. The dealer told me they couldnt do anything and to talk to Audi Financial as they owned the leases. Audi Financial told me I could turn in one of the cars but Id still have to make the payments and that I should go back and talk to the dealer to see if they would purchase the car back. Long story short, I ended up buying out one of the cars and selling it through a car broker (at a loss but at least I no longer have to make the car payments), and will continue to lease the other car until the lease expires. At that time I will purchase something different as I am very disappointed in Audis lack of customer support or loyalty.

As much as I would of loved to give Audi 5 stars it would be just as unethical and misleading as them and the experience I had with them was. •06/04/2019: My 2010 Audi A4 2.0T mechanical defective timing chain tensioner edition had been effected and damaged in which I paid out of pocket for earlier this year only to find out AFTER the repairs had been made by a less expensive shop that worked within my budget; that this would’ve of been covered by Audi, if they had done their due diligence and notified me but they didn’t. Dealerships aren’t first choice for many people when big major repairs take place especially one as silly and unbelievable as this. If I had been notified correctly back in December 2018 this could’ve all been avoided and properly/thoroughly addressed by Audi themselves within Audi itself but instead I had to take the cost effective and unaware consumer route due to Audi & Audi Nashua’s failure to notify me of this matter. •10/05/2019: Brought my vehicle in for the timing chain matter (that Audi was sued and settle on) amongst other things that had been effected post timing chain failure with hopes that this time Audi would rectify the situation now that the timing chain is going again less than 5 months later in which could of been properly addressed and fixed this time without the constraints of a budget for such a ludicrous repair especially so early in a cars life. However, Audi of Nashua refused to do so regardless of the 24 pages of service records dating back to purchase in 01/2018 with only 64k Miles that I had provided which were more than sufficient enough. Trevor the service rep even seemed impressed with the records. Instead of trying to remedy the matter, I get the diagnosis that I was clearly already well aware of but Audi Nashua wanted me to fix components on the vehicle FIRST out of my pocket that would of been repaired at no cost to me had they notified of this disaster problem to begin with 11 months ago. So now that audi is refusing to back their product like they should’ve my vehicle sat on their lot for days collecting dust and leaking oil from main seal instead of at least beginning the repairs like I had asked. •10/12/2019: Danielle the extremely unprofessional service whatever position at Audi, stated via text “to bring back the loaner or face a $75/day charge so that other customers may have access to the loaner while they wait for parts and repairs to come in.” Basically telling me to pickup my barely drivable Audi with just 100k on it so other customers can have transportation because apparently they are more important than me. So I did. No word back or anything about these parts they ordered either. Reached out to Audi USA and that rep on the phone was as clueless as can be and offered no help. I told Danielle I wasn’t paying for anything as the service team had done nothing except REITERATE everything I already knew, and let my car leak oil until it was nearly bone dry upon pick up. Basically made me feel that because my 2010 peasant Audi isn’t a 2019 I need to go pound sand as that problem is not theirs. •11/08/2019: Here we are less than 5 months later and guess what? Timing chain is going again. This time now that I know this would’ve and should’ve been covered correctly the first time, Audi of Nashua refused to do so regardless of the fact this Audi had been serviced there by previous owner and my 24 pages of service records I had provided that were more than sufficient. Now my car that should of been fixed correctly months ago is now parked lifeless and inoperable as Audi Nashua & Audi brand have completely left me high and dry all because of their own negligence. Now I have gotten the attorney general of NH involved to handle this consumer conflict with hopes that these people will finally rectify the mess that could of and should been avoided.

My Audi ownership experience was pretty frustrating and ultimately a big disappointment. I bought a 2012 A6 from the Audi Exchange in Highland Park, IL. The vehicle supposedly had undergone a thorough 300+ point dealer inspection process; one so exhaustive that no other manufacturer can lay claim to a more thorough Certified pre-owned inspection process. Wow, sounded impressive. So, imagine my surprise when, not long after I purchased my car, I learned that it had been in a serious accident and the repairs had not done to spec. I contacted the Audi Exchange about it. At first they denied any knowledge of the accident. But when I brought the car in to be examined, they did admit to knowing about the damage. However, they just hemmed and hawed and said they didnt think the work looked *too* bad. Bottomline: they said you bought a used car and that was it.I contacted Audi of America figuring they would intervene. But, to my surprise, all they did was send me a canned thanks for sharing your concerns response and I never heard from them again. So much for the pledge to do everything we can to keep the dream alive by offering you an ownership experience that rivals even those of the most exclusive clubs in the world. I keep getting marketing mail from Audi encouraging me to come by and check out new models. Uh, no thanks. I would rather walk than buy another Audi.

I purchased new Bridgestone tires which were put on my car, and the next few days I went to Audi to get their computerized alignment services. I waited there for 5-6 hours after I had a 9AM appointment. Alignments only take within 1 hour. The mechanic did the alignment then took the car for a test drive and the alignment was way out of alignment. HOW. Since this was a computerized alignment. And that was after 4 hours??? So it was pulled back into the shop and worked on for 1.5 more hours. Well they produced a computer sheet off the system showing the alignment completed. Totally suspect. Well that was April 2019 and then Covid hit and the car was barely used. In all, there was only about 7200 miles put on the car in 1+ years. Local distance only. SO, after a year I made an appointment to bring in the car for a front steering issue and told them to inspect the whole car. The mechanic doing the inspection made note that the rear tires were much lower treadwear than the fronts, and should be replaced. I said, Really? That is not good as this Audi dealership did the alignment for all 4 tires. The dealers service manager made a snide comment that who is driving the car? I said my wife who is 66 years old and drives locally only. He shut up. I then took the car to another mechanic who confirmed that the tires were unevenly wearing on the rear and did so in making them uneven as a pair. Thus the mechanic at Audi did not recognize the uneven wear. (Is he a mechanic??) Idiot as I see it. So I asked Audi to replace the rear tires and fix the alignment. They balked and said the amount of time made it not their problem. But the car only had 7200 miles on it since the alignment was done, and anyone knows that the malalignment takes time to show and the 7200 miles is about correct. I have other mechanics responses to this to show just that. So I bought new tires and had Firestone do the work with the guaranteed for life alignment, which they service at any time. They also gave me their details on the probably cause of the Audi service department. The Audi service totally screwed up. They are incompetent.

Audi has always been the talk for passion, brand, status, and icon in China. However, when it comes to after-sales support and repair in Audi 4S workshop, they are the least trustworthy partners to go for. My vehicle was sent in for major repairs after a serious accident. Estimated damage came close to USD16,000.00. According to Audi 4S China, most items will be newly ordered and replaced. But to my surprise, all items were dismantled, badly reworked, poorly repainted, and installed as new. The vehicle was so badly repaired that some area is out of proportion. My assessment of this repair is only between USD 3,200.00-4,800.00. What a broad daylight robbery in Audi 4S China. I hereby humbly request Audi Germany to look into this matter urgently, as I believe Audi Germany and worldwide do not practice such disgusting custom. Dear Customer Care, I am an AUDI A6 User and would like to express my view how AUDI INDIA is and how their Service center and how they are malfunctioning and ruining the name of Audi. I have been using the Audi A 66 past 7 years which is now 86000 kms been running but now the service centres are just malfunctioning the customers with very high price, making problems in the car and then expressing then the said parts needs to change or else they cannot do any thing.Audi India has created a customer which is just for a name sake and cannot do anything. The name says as customer care which means for customer but they are saying the words of Service centres and nothing else and also one of the executive told me he cannot do anything. Then why Audi India has created a CUSTOMER CARE. Its better you remove that and close that customer care and make it customer information centre.I sent my car for a regular service and on the receipt of the car after service i noticed that an error is showing on my cluster which says oil level is low so i immediately complained the service centre and asked them that you charged me for the oil change etc but why it is showing which was not showing earlier. Then they took the car back and after 5 days they said I need to pay Rs. 125000 to change the cluster so I am so upset that it was not there before service and after they service they deliberately make the programming in such a way that this error showing and now make money from the customer. At the outset so called customer care is also cannot do any thing. After my complaint the service team relation ship manager is calling me and saying that this error was there past one year and now showing. Is it possible? Also she is claiming that we can get it verified but the question is from where can i verify this? When i ask the same question to Audi India customer care they also says what the service centre says is right. What does this means, as I have all the rights to make sure what the problem is and get it verified but there is no answer with any one.It seems nobody at AUDI wants to address the concern and leave the customer at a mercy that either I pay or get rid of the problem or i close the issue. This is the kind of service level AUDI INDIA is doing and your dealers are killing the Audi India Image. I wish i wouldnt have purchase the Audi and it is my worst decision to buy Audi Car now. I am not going to recommend this car to any one and will also put on all the forums so that all the future buyers should understand the After sales service support that Audi India has. I also wish i would have been in Europe or USA where the law is such that the Audi India has a responsibility to answer. This is it. Thanks. Jai **

I have leased Audis Flagship Sedan A8 in June 2013. The array of different problems ranging from complete replacement of steering system to the faulty MMI screen unit appeared shortly after. Though I was not enthused by these shortcomings, I liked the driving dynamics of the vehicle and enjoyed beautiful warm interior design. The pinnacle of this technological marvel came around 12000 miles. I have noticed a humming noise coming from the tires. I took the car to the local Audi dealership. Upon inspection of the vehicle, the service manager informed me of the following: Audi created the unique size of the tire (265/40/R20) and there are only Pirelli tires available in this size in all-season configuration. All these tires are making humming noise, even a new ones. Therefore he cannot help me. He also stated that many of his customers complain about this problem and he personally dislike Pirelli products. I was left with no choice, but to continue driving and listening to this humming symphony.By 20000 miles the noise became so loud, that it was hard to listen to the radio or talk on the phone without raising my voice. I placed a phone call to Pirelli headquarters who promptly refused to replace their product under the warranty. Taking into consideration that Ive been a loyal Audi customer for 14 years, I decided to write a letter to the executive committee of Audi of North America. I have informed them that they installed a low quality product on their Flagship Sedan and they created the size of the tire which is not available from any other tire manufacturer but Pirelli. Therefore they are equally responsible for this error in judgement. I have received a reply from so called Regional Expert shortly after. The letter was written in a monotonous standard script, which is most likely mailed to all their valued customers. The bottom line of the letter stated that I am a valued member of the Audi family, but I can take my problem somewhere else. Any other correspondence I wrote to Audi of North America in this regard and their main office in Germany was left unanswered. So, I went ahead and replaced noisy Pirelli tires with the same noisy Pirelli tires for the cost of $1300.00 and continue driving and listening to this humming noise, but to a lesser degree, while counting the days until I return this leased vehicle and forget about this nightmare.I want you all to know, if you decide to acquire one of their vehicles and you come up with a problem, which cannot be resolved on the dealership level, do not expect any help from the company no matter how many years you had been a valued member of Audi Family and no matter how much money you had previously spent on their products.

BRAND NEW 2017 Q7 BRAKE NOISE AT 6500 MILES AND THEY CANT FIX IT. There are videos reviews and complaints all over the web on this same issue. All Audi USA states is they are working on a fix. How long does that go on for until they step up and fix the issue. They wont fix it because it will cost them too much. Every time I go to dealer service I get the same (its normal). It is not normal to have a constant squeal from pads. Very disappointed that the brand would do this to their loyal customers. My emails and case numbers from Audi USA are long and continue to give me the runaround.

I bought a 2009 A4 2.0T Quattro and it was a problem from day 1. The car was consuming so much oil! At its worst it was doing 1ltr every 120km. When I took it to the Audi service shop, they blatantly lied to me after doing a service and check, and said nothing was wrong and perhaps I should buy a new sensor. I kept going back and kept getting the same spiel. Anyways the car engine has died and they are quoting me 10k to rebuild the motor. I told Audi Australia that I have done my research and am aware of the recalls, and class action lawsuit against them for the flawed motor but they are still refusing to do anything about it. Im left with a useless car, back on the bus and frustrated! Does anyone else have any ideas or helpful suggestions where to go from here??

I bought an Audi Q7 from Audi Alto Pennant Hills and also bought extended warranty. The car has been sent back for repairs more than 3 times and still there is the same problem or new problem. The AUDI Mechanics are either poorly trained or totally not professionally qualified. Each time it is so hard to speak to someone from the service department. Every phone call, the receptionist will give an excuse that All the servicemen are on the driveway or not on their desks. I have called them 5-6 times each day just to leave my number and no one calls me back.I have to CALL and CALL! I even have to ask my friends to try calling to reach the Service Department and they too experience the same problem - leaving their phone numbers and no one call back at all. Funny thing is that I am a car owner of a Ferrari, Lamborghini, Fiat, Mercedes-Benz and unfortunately this AUDI Q7 which is definitely the WORST purchase I ever made in my life. I have never encounter any problems with my other cars at all. I will never buy another AUDI in my life again as the AUDI brand and reputation has been seriously tarnished. BAD and POOR customer service. Do not buy from AUDI ALTO PENNANT HILLS unless you want to be disappointed by faulty cars and poor service by their mechanics. Extremely disappointing!!!

I first purchased this vehicle in December 2016. After having the vehicle for a couple of days we noticed that the car jolts forward on the initial start daily. This is a rather aggressive jolt and is not unnoticeable. We contacted the dealership immediately and they stated that it was likely because it was cold outside. Of course come spring the issue remains and we take the vehicle in for service. The dealership claimed to have re-calibrated the transmission and sent the car home. There was no change and the issue remained. Long story short they eventually replaced the transmission and yet the problem remains. The dealership is stumped and claim that they have switched the parts with another Q5 and it also has the issue so the problem is now common to most Q5s so there is nothing wrong with the vehicle and I should come pick it up. Unsatisfied with this response I met with the sales guy who originally sold the vehicle. There is now depreciation on the vehicle and I would be at a loss of $12,000 if I opted to trade the car in. I contacted Audi Canada who investigated the complaint and are now siding with the dealership that this is common with Q5s. There is nothing to be done!! I could of course contact another dealership to see if they had other suggestions... huh?? This is of course after Audi Canada has spent almost $20,000 to repair the problem. One would think that they would have all known it was a common problem before spending all this time and money. Be forewarned anyone looking to purchase a Q5 - this is a common issue that cant be rectified so if you dont enjoy a sudden jolt each day you start your car you might want to stay clear of this purchase.

Brand new 2024 Audi A6 TDI - I have 6000 km and there are a few things that I dont like about the car but will not mention them as I should have been more detail-oriented when I tested the car. You should never rush into buying an car unless it meets ALL your safety requirements. What I am complaining about has to do with the brakes. They grab when you have almost stopped. They seem to stick when they are wet. They make a sound as though the pads and caliper are stuck. If you slowly pull out with your foot still on the brake, they make a God-awful sound. And that is when they are dry. When wet, you talk rep your life into your hands with these brakes. They really stick and the sounds are horrible. If I am wearing a soft sporty shoe, I still cannot bring the car to a smooth stop. Forget about it with firmer dress shoes. Its a horrible experience. Guess what? They just gave me a loaner, after I complained about the brakes. It had 400 KM on the odometer and the brakes did the very same thing? They told me that it had to do with some brake technology. I say nonsense. This appears to be an endemic problem. Its unpleasant and dangerous.

My family has owned 6 VWs and Audis. The A4s were flawless, and the Tiguans worked well. The 2010 Q5 had mechanical and component issues and the new 2014 Q5 is getting gas mileage 10-20% below EPA sticker. Our overall mileage average is 10% below the city EPA value even though we live in the suburbs of Boston, and rarely drive into the city. I believe it is costing me $300-400 more per year in fuel. Audi says the car is operating within specification but I know what my mileage reading are. The Audi customer service people were professional when they delivered a finding I did not agree with. Otherwise the car works as promised. Have other readers had poor gas mileage???

I purchased my first Audi A6 in May of 2018. It was a brand new 2018. I noticed two bubbles protruding from the right rear door and paint peeling beneath it along the internal surface structure. I called Audi and sent numerous pictures. I told them to take the car back and that I wanted a replacement. They refused to give me another car after it was determined that it was indeed a manufacturers defect. I was given two choices by them, to sue or get it fixed. I did not have the money to get an attorney so I was forced to fix a new car that was sold to me with defects. I will never again buy another Audi. Audi USA is horrible! They would not do a consumption test and said it was all in my head. Now my car barely 4 years old wont start. They told me I might need a new engine and it would cost 18000. But to access it properly I needed to pay 2600 for a proper diagnosis. Customer service would not assist me saying that my car was out of warranty. How can you rate my loyalty and not know how much Ive spent as your customer? I suggest you dont buy an Audi vehicle. My wife and I were both Audi people. She drives a 2015 Audi Q5 and I have a fully loaded 2014 A6. Both vehicles have had their maintenance done at the dealership. We just had to pay to have her pistons replaced on her Q5 due to the oil consumption issue (Google it). They have known about this defect and have settled a class action suit on earlier models. Rather than fix the problem, they are taking the position that oil consumption is normal and they have noted as such in their owners manual. My wife was at the point where we had to add oil every other week. The repair was over 4K. I am at the point where I am adding oil to my A6 although much less frequently but I am concerned about what is going on in the engine.I feel Audi is not standing behind their product. For the amount of money we paid for these vehicles, these engines should last longer. The maintenance on these vehicles is not cheap. To have an engine need that kind of repair after 5 years is ridiculous in this day and age. For it to be a common problem where they have a specific oil consumption test protocol at the dealership just shows you how common this is. I am sure it would be a huge expense for them to admit fault and resolve these issues. They have been fined for lying about issues with their diesel engines and they simply cant be trusted. So as much as we loved our vehicles, we are done with Audi. We will never own Audis again and our next cars will be something more reliable from a more reputable manufacturer. Not only are we sharing our story on multiple forums, we are telling all of our friends and co-workers about our experience with Audi. I am certain they have lost way more than the 4K it would have cost to cover the repair on my wifes Q5.

The Audi has a lot of different models and they range from the more affordable A3, to the luxury R8. Theres something for everyone whether they need a sedan, SUV, or sports car. The smallest sedan (A3) still comfortably fits five people and the luxury sedans are very spacious and the SUVs even more. The R8 is pretty spacious even for it being a sports car. Audis also have a very sleek and beautiful design. Lights can make or break a car, and Audi lights are very nice. The shape of the car is very recognizable and distinct. They have a lot of different upgrades to choose from too. You can personalize the color of the exterior and interior, upgrade your radio, camera, GPS, etc.

Nothing came into contact with glass and there were no nicks. It seemed to break spontaneously. The fabric insert caught most of the shattered glass thank goodness or my husband might have been injured. The Audi dealer is charging more than $800 to fix it. It has a distinct style from the rest of the other luxury car makers. It has a very luxurious style to all their models and come fully loaded with all the features that you want. My Audi experience has been a nightmare. My wife and I bought a 2011 Q5 on April 4, 2011. When the car had 28000 miles on it, the low oil light came on. We were told it was from a defective hood latch, which the dealer replaced. The light came on again in several thousand miles and we were told this time it was a pressure regulating valve, which was replaced. The light came on a third time and we were told an oil consumption test needed to be initiated. I know its hard to believe, but the oil light came on a 4th time. Day Audi of Monroeville advised me that VW/Audi had a known defect with their 2.0 turbo engines and I would need the pistons and rings replaced in the vehicle. First they needed to send the oil consumption results to the Audi Corporation and get the work approved. Audi advised the dealer that my Audi, which only has 40,000 miles on it, was consuming a normal amount of oil, and no further repairs were needed. The dealer advised the oil light would continue top come on, just bring it in and get it topped off when it does. They also offered to buy my vehicle back at a lowball auction price. Audi is a joke of a corporation that could care less about their customers. I would never recommend a Volkswagen or Audi to anyone as a result of being treated in this manner.

My wifes 2004 Audi A4 Quattro 1.8T suffered major engine damage when her oil pickup became clogged with sludge. The car had been dealer serviced its entire life. We filed a claim with Audi, but they denied it - saying my wifes car falls outside the range of VIN numbers they supplied in the lawsuit. I leased a new 2015 Audi A3 Cabriolet from Audi Palo Alto in October. A few weeks back as the car was climbing a hill enroute to Lombard street in San Francisco in Traffic, it started slipping backwards and refused to accelerate upwards. The cars behind me naturally honked and drivers were mad at my car not only blocking traffic but slipping backwards. When I switched off the car and tried restarting it would not start for 10 min. After 10 min, it started again and went up 100 feet and again slipped backwards. Somehow after an hour long traumatic experience, I got out of the hill. When I contact Audi to service the car, I was initially asked to take an appointment and no one at the dealerships service team took my call. Finally I found them and after testing the car, they told me there was a fault in the cars mechatronic system and that the part had to come from germany. After 2 weeks, they said they got the part and completed the repairs. I took the car and when I tried starting it after a few days, I got a transmission error message again. Weirdly, with my other set of keys, the car worked fine. When I tried contacting Audi, again no one responded. The service agent I worked with ** never answers to my voice mails. Overall I feel cheated and disappointed with Audi with a bad car and pathetic service... I am trying to get my lease terminated!

Like many on here (including Javier - Dec 5, 2018), my Audi was expensive to maintain. I bought it new in 2010 and immediately it used to much oil. After many arguments with the local dealer (near Chicago), they finally got Audi America to cover the cost of fixing the issue (a piston ring issue they kept quiet). Somewhere north of 50k miles, the turbo went. Again, I had to press the local dealer and Audi was quietly fixing another issue they knew they had so they replaced the turbo. Then at 93k, my car would not start while out running local errands. I had to have it towed to an independent garage that works on Audi within the radius covered by my insurance road side assistance. This was a weekend but on Monday they called with the bad news that the tensioner on the timing chain went and damaged the valves. Their solution was to replace the engine with a used one, so I got the local Audi dealer involved. They said it was covered, so I spent $115 to have it towed to the dealer. I found out later this was part of a class action suit and the dealer wanted 8800 to replace the engine head. Audi said my warranty was voided, even though I did all my maintenance (65k, 75k,85k, etc) because I fell outside the time limit to do the maintenance (i.e. every 12 months), even though I drive few miles since retirement. I donated the car to charity and wrote a letter to the CEO of Volkswagen America, who used to be the President of Audi America. In all my years of driving and all of the cars/makes I have owned (many well over 100k), never have I had a timing belt/chain issue. Do yourself a favor and buy something other than an Audi or you do want an Audi, either lease it or trade it off before it is too old and you experience the heavy maintenance cost of owning these vehicles.

I have a new 2019 Audi Q5, Prestige trim level, that comes with Active Lane Assist that will steer the car to the center of the road if you accidentally go over the line. There is an accompanying control that issues a loud DING and dash warning if the car thinks you are driving without hands on the wheel. The problem is that on straight roads, with hands on the wheel, I get frequent false alerts. Audi has implemented this by detecting if no input is sensed on the wheel for 15 seconds, it assumes no hands on the wheel and issues the alert. Driving me crazy! Dont buy this trim level. Waste of money and Audi just says the car is working to specifications, though other of their cars do not do this.

When my car, 2009 Audi A4 Avant, failed, I had to get the RAC to examine the problem and eventually take it to the Audi dealer I bought it from some eight months earlier. Apparently, through me placing a case in the not-so-robust boot which I couldnt know about, it had bent the lip near the seal which would then allow water to access the boot. This is where it really becomes a problem. You have no way of knowing this is happening so this water will build up until it then damages the electrical equipment in your boot.Audi will then give you an incredible £10k bill to replace key electrical items which are unsealed within the boot. Part of the labor bill is at £120/hour. They only provide you with a temporary car once you have complained directly to their MD. They completely ignore the important safety issue that you are unaware of this problem until its too late and that the electrical equipment situated in the boot that can fail through water are lights and brakes. Im very unhappy around with this saga and feel other manufacturers would treat me better.

The A7 is a luxury car with room enough to be useful in terms of passengers or cargo. Its styling is unique and so beautiful that most people think my 2013 is a brand new car. The supercharged 3.0L engine has plenty of power and the Quattro AWD system cant be beat.

The car is constantly in for service. 25 trips to dealer in 4 years. Towed 6 times. AC at 3k broke, door handle for $600, Audi lied about oiling issue, and after national class action, they did a poor job of repairing motor. Timing chain sent 3 codes while under warranty and they cleared and sent us home. At 28k/98k miles, the timing chain failed and the engine repairs were $14k... Audi did not handle our requests very well. After a lot of patience, they only offered to sell us another Audi. Only to say our $50k car was worth $5500 with 98k miles. Great looking car, Audi just isnt worth the poor service issues...

We had an Audi years ago and wanted to have another one. The Q7 fit our needs. However, it has been a terrible experience. The brakes will not stop squeaking and the dealer says they have relayed the problem to Audi but nothing gets done. 80% of the people who own this car are complaining according to the dealer. The squeaking is so loud that you are embarrassed to drive the car when anyone can hear. It is awful. Please do NOT buy this car. Audi, please listen to your customers. I will stop people on the street and tell everyone not to buy this car.

Bought a certified pre-owned 2009 Audi A4 Quattro 2.0 in December 2010 and within two weeks the oil light came on. Brought it back for service, thought it was a simple oversight and that it had been fixed. Little did we know then how that yellow check oil light would come to dominate our lives, limit our use and enjoyment of the car, and empty our wallets. Within the first three years we had the car serviced so many times for excessive oil consumption that we finally took to the internet and found we werent the only ones with this issue. After 43,000 miles and countless service visits, we demanded that Audi rectify the problem and (because the car was still under warranty), they replaced the pistons and rings at no cost.Fast forward two years to December 2015, and, at 91,000 miles (just outside of warranty, of course) an ominous turn off engine immediately and check oil warning appeared on the dashboard. Brought the car in for service right away and found that the engine had a leaking intake manifold. Dealer replaced manifold at cost of $1K. One week later, check engine light went on. Brought the car back to Audi and this time, the water pump needed replacing (another $1K). A few days later, that ominous turn off engine immediately and check oil warning appeared again. Brought the car back YET AGAIN. Service department informed us that they had found metal shavings in the engine pan, indicating that engine parts were grating and the engine was compromised. They told us that we needed an entirely new engine, at a cost of almost $11,000!! We were livid. Dealer went to Audi North America and they offered to pay for half. Now we are stuck with a dead car and the prospect of having to pay another $5300 (for a total of $7300 since December) to make what is now a lemon drivable. We believe that Audi should take full ownership of this, as they replaced the pistons and rings on an engine that they knew was faulty. And, we are left wondering if the replacement of the intake manifold parts somehow compromised the engine, resulting in the engine failure (the timing of the engine failure was just a bit too coincidental). We bought this car for what we thought was exceptional Audi performance, reliability and service. Its unbelievable to see here how many others have suffered the same substandard customer service for what is clearly an inferior, shoddily manufactured car. Perhaps theres another class action suit against Audi- this time for engine failure- waiting to be brought to light. My hope is that by writing this, others will steer clear of all Audi cars, both new and used. Maybe once Audis bottom line is affected, theyll start paying more attention to quality control and the real people who drive their cars.

This is the worst car purchase I have ever made. The car is so small when there is another passenger in the car. I drove the 2017 Audi Q3, when I took a vacation. Could only fit 1 piece of luggage in the cargo area. The backseat is not roomy enough for a sardine. Horrible on gas. Can only use premium. I should have kept my Buick Enclave. That was a sweet ride!

Took my car at the appointed time (11 am) in for a full service (309) it was running perfectly well no faults whatsoever. They said the service would take about 1-2 hrs. I contacted Audi at 3 pm to say I was calling to collect my vehicle. They said the lady that dealt with you is just on the phone, Ill ask her to ring you back. I waited 20 mins, rang again, told them how long Id been waiting and want to speak to a manager. Again they said Ill get the manager to ring you straight back. 45 mins later and fuming I rang again. This time they said your car is just being washed now it will be about 15 mins. Now my car has a fault, its jerking and jumping as if it is being starved of fuel. I have just looked at the air filter and its. The one I put in 18 months ago, in my service book its (air filter) been ticked as replaced and crossed out and ticked as not replaced. So no new air filter, not even cleaned, fluids NOT topped up they said thats extra. So almost six hours for a service. I dont think a Boeing 747 would take that long. Bad service, certainly the longest, lied to several times. Get your service book stamped by any reputable garage. Audi is NOT all its cracked up to be very, very expensive and work NOT carried out.

Bought a new 2012 A6 18 months ago. About 3 weeks ago started getting a strong mold smell coming from the AC. Took it to the dealer who said they had repaired it, but the smell persists. Scheduled to go back tomorrow for more work-- they mentioned installing charcoal filter and ensuring that the water drains are clear. Worried that we are inhaling large amounts of mold by following their instructions to keep running the AC. Anyone have similar problems? Cant stand the smell much longer.

Purchased my car in 2012 with 45,000 miles on it. Immediately it started burning through a quart of oil every 5 weeks or so. I complained to the dealership. They said it was normal. I complained again. They said it was normal. I complained again. They said it was normal. I had to burrow myself so far up their ** for them to take a look at the car. They performed an oil consumption test which it failed. They said I had to replace the engine. Thankfully, I was 475 miles under the warranty expiration. From that point forward the car never worked properly. An ignition coil change, 3 issues regarding misfiring, repair work for several diagnostic codes. All in, on top of my $450 month payment & $6k deposit, I spent about an additional $10k repairing the car.Additionally Audi USA covered another $10k worth of work. Thats $20,000 worth of repair work over 4 years. A $1,000 bill every 10 weeks. At 130,000 miles I pulled into a parking lot, car was running fine (after a $1,300 repair bill the week before). I got out of the car and realized I forgot to grab something at another store. I immediately got back into the car and pushed the key in the ignition. It didnt start. Needed to have the car towed. The dealer tells me they have to rebuild the entire engine again.Audi USA called and left a message yesterday (Ive been without a car for 3 weeks now and had a loaner for all of 4 days) that the case has gone to the highest level and there is nothing they will do about it. They said if I have any questions I can call the case handlers direct number. Seems that direct number goes directly to a voicemail void that never gets checked because my phone calls have yet to be returned. Looking at the number of issues and similar complaints all over the web I am baffled that Audi refuses to take responsibility for their poor design and the numerous faults that continue to occur on this engine model.

I own a 2014 Audi Q7 TDI and was forced to bring my car in for the diesel gate emissions fix. My car is ruined and unsafe to drive! I was promised a slight reduction in power and possible loss of 1-2mpg. I am down 4-5 mpg and over 10 mpg while towing a trailer. Car no longer has any mid-range power so I can no longer tow my trailer safely. Audi/VW deliberately understated the changes resulting from the emissions modifications from the diesel gate scandal. Anyone who owns a diesel VW/Audi resist from enrolling in the fix. It will ruin your car! The fix is a bigger lie than the original diesel scandal! VW/Audi point the finger at the judge and refuse to even diagnose the car.

Purchased 2020 Q7 for over 80K. Sever safety issues began around 1000 miles. Vehicle would abruptly stop on the highway. Had truck for 8 months, 5 of those months spent in service. After 3 conversations with their corporate services who kept telling me they were reviewing my file and get back to me in a couple of days, which never happen. They would call me back after a month. This happened 3X while my Vehicle stayed in service. Finally I hired a lemon law attorney. Audi quickly settled but why they not simply by my car back. Instead, their neglect cost them a loyal customer who has purchased 4 Audi. We got our money back due to the lawsuit and bought a Mercedes. Audi could have simply taken the vehicle back and put us in a new Q7 but instead chose to ignore our safety concerns. Not only did they lose our loyalty but lost a customer to a competitor. I was also ready to trade in my Audi A7 but now would never consider an Audi and hopefully people read this review and think twice before they think about purchasing an Audi.

Do not ever ever ever purchase or lease an Audi! Heres my nightmare: back i
Do not ever ever ever purchase or lease an Audi! Heres my nightmare: back in 2010 my then husband leased an Audi in my name (the joys of marriage). About one year into the lease, we separated, both of us moving to opposite ends of California. The vehicle sat at our primary NY residence for almost two years as I would have been penalized for an early turn in. The car was only used for the limited times that I would return to the east coast, probably 5000 miles in total during that time. At just over 30,000 miles the clutch died without warning. This happened on a busy two-lane highway in a dangerous spot. Audi financial blamed it on driver mishandling. I have been driving manual transmission for 30 years and this has never happened. I am clearly capable of driving a stick shift. Happily my insurance covered it but for the deductible as Audi wanted to charge $6000 to repair. Finally, several months later the anticipated turn-in date arrives. I do everything I am supposed to: have the car inspected by Audi (which of course jacked up the damages); and turn it into an Audi authorized dealer (Audi Mohegan Lake, NY). The next day I turn in the plates and take this nightmare off of my insurance policy. I thought this was the end of my Audi dealing. Wishful thinking.Five months later I get a call from Audi Credit stating that I never paid the final bill. I advised that I never received the bill. This is because, as they explained, they never sent the bill! I told them to send the bill, which was received a month later. They are now asking for $497.35 in late return fees! Conveniently the odometer statement, prepared by Mohegan Lake Audi does not have the turn in date on it. Audi decided to wait a month to pick up the car after I turned it in. I have been back and forth with Audi Financial and Mohegan Lake and have yet to be able to get proof of the date on which I turned the car into Audi. My insurance (in deadbeat exs name) shows that I turned in the plates to the DMV and took the car off the policy on 7/2 (days after I turned the car in). I cannot find my DMV receipt, cannot get an answer when I call NY DMV, and cannot get the paperwork from Geico showing that the car was removed from the policy because the policy is now in my exs name. I am beyond frustrated! F AUDI!!!!!

A4, A5, A6 models. This is a luxury sedan wth lots of great features and an upscale interior to match the beautiful exterior. It drives smoothly, and is very low maintenance... There is no need for frequent repairs and no major issues to worry about. The Audi A4 is an upscale sedan with a beautiful, sleek exterior, and a well-designed interior that makes the cabin surprisingly spacious for a car its size. Theres no lack of attention to detail given to the interior cabin, with its wood and leather finishes. This sedan, though it appears to be a smaller sedan, is surprisingly spacious. The interior cabin comfortably seats five passengers, and even those who are taller still have enough leg room to move around in. Even though the car comes loaded with many features that would be upgrades on other brands, the Audi A4 offers its buyers a variety of options for personalizing and upgrading their vehicle, such as engine power, sunroof, and interior finishes.

Shocking, embarrassing, enraged are words that come to my mind while I own
Shocking, embarrassing, enraged are words that come to my mind while I own a 15-day old Audi Q5 from Mumbai (**). Previous to Audi, I owned an E class much to satisfaction of services, good customer relationship shared, robust after sales service and a fantastic road side problem solving assist. Everything seems missing after I shifted my brand loyalty with great deliberation from the sales executive and my misjudgement, of course. My expectation in every department of the service is a complete failure and way below expectation. The very purpose to pen down the displeasure is the extent of discontent I have towards the working of Audi. The experience I share herewith are a testimony to my so-called growing hatred to the brand. My conclusion is worth reading which may affect your reputation, since spending lakhs if I am not satisfied, I cannot even keep you happy and smiling for sure.My experience until I received the delivery was a rude and shocking administrative negligence. My booking, my loan approval process, my excess registration amount paid due to untimely management of affairs, had already raised doubts on my decision of ownership of Audi. The only saving grace in the entire process was the CRM and delivery procedure conducted, was overtly warmth filled, which of course did not happen at Mercedes. There was a delay in loan processing, which seemed that neither profile, previous bank history, vehicle owned previously, nor a flawless CIBIL record could help getting my loan clearance. No browny points for all the above characteristics, understandably so, since your VW finance is a new company and would look into smallest details - but killed my time in the process. After the bank approval and knowing that the car registration cost is due to hike (which is an information I provided), no steps were taken to expedite the process and save customers cost, resulting in me shelling off couple of lakhs for no fault of mine. No remorse or courtesy extended towards the same but citing government policy, the sales executives shirked their administrative laxity. Such critical, immediate and subtle PR issues are what customers (usually time constrained) of this segment look out as factors whilst buying a premium vehicle.A temporary registration sticker attached was the way the car was delivered, unaccompanied by an Audi personnel as it is a temporary number, making it extremely unprofessional, unethical and uncalled for procedure. On my way back, I was a victim of an embarrassing traffic constable tantrums. Giving my license was the only way out as I dont believe in bribery. In spite of repeatedly calling your executives, nothing was done to retrieve my license and I was left by myself to fight it out at the wrong doing of the company. It was another display of poor and pathetic after sales. Also, it showcased the dismal relationship shared between the traffic authorities and the dealer. All it took me was a letter such as this and a few personal trips explaining the reason of my innocence in the mistake committed. Afterwards, I was given back my license without any fine levied. A situation as embarrassing as this, for me, was an experience which I cannot forgo. But sadly, you, as a company, could not do anything--very sad! It leaves me with an after thought, Was I responsible for the mayhem? If not, what is the companys role in pacifying me?My E class was traded in and the administrative process was delayed so much so, that one of my EMI of E class reached my account and I had no option but to clear the same. As a result, now after 15 days of delivery of my car, when the trade in person calls up and gives me another shocker to tell me a draft of 40k is ready for my disbursement when the EMI I paid was around 45k. It was another unaccounted and unexplained loss to myself again.Tell me after reading until this stage, was anything worth a fine memory, worth a brand change, worth value for money? No--only agony, torture, and mental trauma. If thats not all, the forthcoming incidence is an absolute hell of a climax for the biggest mistake of my life to own an Audi.Considering Q5 to be an SUV, an off-roader with 4 wheel drive and Quattro (Audis signature technology), I ventured on my journey to my Pune residence via expressway on the 15th night and returned back on the17th morning with a return trip to Pune - scheduled to be on the night of 17th itself for an extended weekend work. My journey overall to Pune was not so pleasurable, one because of some screechy noise on speeding above 100 which seems to come only when windows are slightly open - but that was not the case in my scenario when I checked.Secondly, some seat rattling at higher speed is such a put off riding an SUV. I reached the night of 17th and to my dismay, the next morning, I saw that the tire was deflated. Without driving, I called in the puncture repair guy to get the cause examined. A crack was observed in the tire on the inner surface of the rear wheel which, according to the puncture guy, was a sign of health and safety hazard so he advised a tire replacement. This might have occurred due to some sharp object piercing the tire and can be termed as a minor accident case.My point is, when a tire as heavy as this can wear off, what is the safety proposition of this vehicle? Questions such as this have no answer. What followed after this was a series of phone calls to road assist, service station, Audi Mumbai, Audi Pune, etc., all adding to my panic. But no one seems to give solution but shirking their responsibility by giving each other numbers. This means that I, in state of panic, have to keep making calls with no robust solution found for me to go for work in Pune or return to Mumbai. Then, I, too, should have made not less than 12 calls all combined but what was noteworthy was that there was no call back from anyone responsible when an Audi customer is in need. It was absolutely disgusting! To add to my dismay, I get a phone call from a dealer in Pune saying, I can order a tire for you. You need to pay in advance for the same and that the tire will come in a week time. It just looked that he wanted business but when asked for customer assistance, he had no clue and just hung up the phone. How could he suggest replacement without even looking at the tire? How can he ask me to pay for it at the first place since it is only a 15-day car with not even 400km run? I had so many questions to ask someone responsible. How can a 15-day old tire wear off? Where is problem assist? Where is the tire manufacturing warranty? Where is the problem solving? Why is the customer not put to ease first?Rather having one person taking onus on the call and advise appropriately, I was made to talk to so many people without even getting a solution, which I term as an amateurish administration. An immature, unprofessional treatment mended to a premium car owner leaves me doubtful for a long-term ownership. I thank Almighty that nothing untoward occurred, which I know for a fact if it was Mercedes, I would first be put to ease, followed by the option suggested to solve the problem temporarily so that my work does not stall and then contact me for an absolute solution with agreement of both parties involved. This is what I call service and not what I received - wasting my entire day on phone calls, waiting that someone will get back with some solution for me.Also, the step tire was rather a rude shock to me, seeing the size, the nature of the tire and the black ugly design it gives - all shows the audience the punishment meted out for replacing the original tires. Wouldnt it be Audis insult to have such cars rolling in the market? With BMW, I remember that I was not allowed to open the car bonnet during a test-drive as per their policy since it may give an impression to customers that it is a faulty car. I respected it and I believe firmly that the image of the car should be a priority when you deal with this segment of a car.I was finally recommended by Audi Pune service station that there is no solution than to sport the ugly step tire and travel expressway not going beyond 60 km/h. I did follow this and was scared every minute of my 4.5-hour journey filled with fright, anger and shame (which otherwise takes me 3 hours). What an added trauma and time wastage! Now, with all what has transpired, do you still think I should be an Audi loyalist? If yes, I need concrete reasoning, or else, I am trading in this vehicle for some other vehicle. But the next steps for not having an appropriate reply or a solution would be to take this up with the companys top brass, followed by complaining to the international center for making them aware of how pathetically their Indian counterparts are handling affairs, approach the consumer court for a full refund for dissatisfaction of the product and the agony it has caused me mentally, post this on the Facebook, and start my verbal propaganda of the horrible 15-day ordeal with Audi. I am forever thanking my stars that these incidents did not happen after the warranty expires as the people in Audi would not even have responded to my queries at all.I presumed that I am making a wise decision by changing brand, but having looked at the support system that your after sales can offer, I am seriously on the look out for the Audi brand change. Your company has made a good mark in the Indian car industry but that must be due to the policies and work of the top management level, which was perhaps also one of the driving force for me to purchase an Audi. But, if your employees do not become face of Audi by proper training in management and PR, it would not need much time to succumb to its competitors. I expected care, concern, warmth and since nothing came my way, I am now a completely dissatisfied Audi customer, which I am sure you, too, can relate to.I am looking forward to the manner my complaint is going to be addressed. It will be the factor to reinforce my belief in Audi and in doing so understandably shall cause you discomfort since it may involve overhauling of few processes. My letter will benefit those hundreds of customers who have lost their way on how and what to complain and be a perfect document to not be deterred or rather help them from being troubled. Kindly find a solution at the earliest to avoid further media and legal formalities. I wish you the best with all of what you are doing - maybe its a bad experience for me personally.

And I was promised by Audi Pune that they will compensate this with an efficient service. After 6 months, my car had problems with the accelerator automatically increasing after 3 hours of continuous driving and engine temperature raising to 100 degrees Celsius. I made a complaint to Audi Pune to get it checked and to be provided a courtesy vehicle as promised by them during purchase. But even after 3 days, they are unable to provide a proper courtesy vehicle and take the vehicle for servicing. Its appearance is very sleek and stylish, with a great deal of technological features while youre driving. I love both the handling and technology of this car. Upgrades are a breeze.
