A Fully Loaded BMW i7 Will Cost You Mega Bucks
[BACK]

Posted On: April 21, 2022
Last week, BMW teased the arrival of the all-new 7 Series and its all-electric i7 sibling before revealing both to us this week. The latter is the one that we're particularly interested in, as the Mercedes EQS Sedan already exists as a pretty impressive luxury electric sedan. Mercedes typically sets the benchmark in terms of luxury mobility, but BMW has arguably blown the EQS out of the water this time, debuting exciting tech like a massive 8K rear screen that turns the back seats into a small cinema. But as is customary, such features cost extra, so what does a fully loaded i7 cost? The all-electric i7 has launched in Germany and gone live on the local configurator with a base price of €138,310, or around $150,955 in our money. Add the M Sport Package and the price rises to €142,800 ($155,854). With the M Sport Package Pro, the MSRP reaches €146,500 ($159,893). The latter adds black accents, M Sport brakes, 20-inch M light-alloy wheels, and an M rear spoiler. As usual, the only free paint color is Alpine White, while metallic options range in price from €1,150-€3,800 ($1,255-$4,147), the most expensive of which are Frozen, or matte, finishes. If these aren't special enough, BMW Individual two-tone finishes can be applied for €12,000, or roughly $13,100. These two-tone finishes can't be had with matte options, so we went with the $2,620 Tanzanite Blue metallic option. Wheel options are a little more affordable, with the cheapest optional designs costing €1,900 (around $2,075) and the most expensive setting you back €3,750, or almost $4,100. 19-, 20-, and 21-inch options are available. Fortunately, opting for the M Sport Pro Package means that the most expensive 21-inch wheel option is now free. BMW Iconic Glow crystal headlights cost another €2,100 (roughly $2,292). Moving inside, the Individual leather options reach their pinnacle with Merino leather which costs €1,850 ($2,019) while interior trim options are all not charged. Altogether, this ridiculous car costs €179,820 including taxes. That's around $196,260, but fear not - BMW told us that US-spec models will cost around $150,000 with all the toys. That does mean we might not get all the options, but we're pretty sure it'll be all the ones you want.

It is not a trustworthy car at all. It is not a trustworthy car at all - put me in a near-death situation. I just about avoided a major accident due to a manufacturing fault with timing chain which should last for 200,000 miles (BMWs claim) and my car has only done less than 68000 miles. This was brought to the attention of BMW before the incident but they are trying to hide behind corporate write-right.It is generally accepted that, for all cars, timing chain should last for the lifetime of the engine. This is a known issue associated with the N42/N43 engine (fitted in models between 2007 to 2011 which my 3 series is from). Even though timing chains are supposed to last a lifetime, clearly this seems to be well known issue with BMW engines and they are well aware of it. We were not aware of it until it was brought to our attention by an external mechanic after taking the car to their garage due to some warning lights. Please note we had taken this to a BMW approved service centre before taking it to an external garage and this was not diagnosed property by BMW approved mechanics (Cooper BMW Cobham to be precise).I informed BMW directly about this issue and also highlighted the fact that the brakes were becoming stiff. They ignored this to a point where the brakes got extremely stiff and nonworkable, suddenly on my way to home with my 5 year old child. Realising this, somehow with all my strength pulled the car to a nearby shopping place, driving crazily. The recovery man checked the car and found the brakes to be so stiff. He asked me, Do you know you would have ended up in a tragic accident, you are very lucky! After the incident, I am still stressed with very little sleep at night. I could not believe that my son and I narrowly escaped a tragic accident. It is unfortunate that neither BMW or the Cooper Cobham, warned me of the health and safety risks involved despite bringing this issue to their attention. They dragged things in the name of diagnosis to be carried out. As this was a known fault, they should have straightway made arrangements for my car to be checked and remedied at their expense. This also reminded me of BMWs electrical failure issue which lead to a fatality and made a lot of press (Narayan Gurung case). In this case, BMW was highly criticised for not recalling cars and putting customers lives at risk. It is saddening to know that these big business minded and money motivated people care so less about precious lives of people. I am not allowed to link the article here but if you google Narayan Gurung road death you will find many articles including reporting on Court criticising BMW.I have taken this matter further with BMW. Even after letting them know of the nearly death accident, they are ignoring it and dragging things in the name of diagnosis. The car is with the garage since Thursday and to date they have not carried out any diagnosis. It is extremely unfortunate that BMW is ignoring such a serious matter. There are more to this story including some crucial evidences, which I am keeping hold of at the moment as I may have to take the matter legally if BMW continues to ignore me despite the seriousness of the matter. But if you are in similar situation, please get in touch as I am happy to share those with you. I am not a car savvy but I have done a lot of research after I found out about manufacturing fault with my car which I use to meet my day to day needs. I am uploading this here so that people are aware of this and am pretty sure there are other BMW users in similar or same situation. I am a person who stand for justice and I am not going to leave it like this. I will keep you all updated of BMWs response to this issue and whether they resolve this at their cost.

Bought a 2020 M340i xdrive BMW. The proximity feature of the Idrive have been an issue from the day I picked up the vehicle. On the way home from the dealership the doors would not open using the door handles. Had to use the key fob. On day two I called the BMW genius. He had me reboot the Idrive. This fixed the problem for a short time. The way it stands now, we never know when its going to work. It worked for a couple days recently, only to stop working for the last 2 days. I took it to the dealer when it was not working. When I got to the dealership, it started working when I arrived at the dealership. They checked for error codes. They said there may be issues with the antenna based on the error codes. The order is in for a new antenna. This was on 10/19/2020. Still have not heard anything from the dealership. It is now 10/27/2020. I dont know where the part is coming from, but I had hoped it would be here by now, and I could see if this fixes the problem. Hoping for the best, but I fear this going to be an issue as long as own the vehicle.

Beware of BMW leases!!! They will do whatever it takes to charge you extra at lease end and try to pressure you into making up charges and keep changing the damages. They cant keep their story straight. They just do not care!! Buying another BMW I was treated badly!! Dealing with several bad guys in Ohio. I will fight this.

I sent an e-mail to BMW Customer Service/Relations ([email protected]) including a couple of pictures of my X5. Searching on the web it is clear this issue is present on these model year cars. Today, I was contacted by RuthAnn, BMW Customer Representative, and she basically stated that all they can do is to log a complaint. My 2002 X5 is well over the 4 years/50,000 miles warranty and there is nothing that BMW can do. I explained that this was clearly defective workmanship on the part of BMW given the amount of problems on these model years, but she stated this issue was due to the elements and I should take my car to the dealer to make an assessment of the problem. However, even if the dealer determines it is due to a bad paint job from BMW, there is nothing BMW can do since the car is out of warranty. I tried to explain that I have had cars from Ford and Nissan older than my X5 and they never presented a paint peeling problem. Yet, here I have a luxury car with less years than my old cars where the paint work is peeling away with no warranty coverage. No response there. At the end all I was able to get is to have the complaint logged and be disappointed by BMW once again.

I admit that I loved my BMW as this was my dream car. Finally, we could afford to buy one. I went against my husbands advice to buy a Toyota/Lexus. I wanted a BMW, my dream car, because I thought the quality & engineering were superior. In December 2011, I went to get a checkup on my BMW 2008. There was a leakage when the engine light came on & BMW team in Pleasanton said they fixed the car and no issue was raised. The car was fine. Yeah! Just this month, in early May 2012 (5 months after), the engine service light came on briefly. I think it is because of the oil change needed, so I take it to the dealership. I thought the warranty was still valid, as the car has only 46000 miles on it (

I purchased a 2013 X3 SUV this past April. I did not have Bluetooth on my cell phone so the dealership I purchased it from told me to get a cell phone with Bluetooth. I did and it worked for a few months but now it has quit working. So I took the SUV in to let them look at it and I was told my phone was not a compatible cell phone. I was not told what kind was compatible when I purchased it and now Im not eligible for an upgrade on my phone and Im stuck with a cell phone I cant use in my car. Do you have any suggestions on what to do? One of the features that attracted me to this car was the Bluetooth. Thanks.

I purchased a 2018 BMW X5 in 2017. We bought a brand new vehicle so I wouldn’t have to be having car trouble. I’ve owned the vehicle about 14 months and it has had 2 engine malfunctions within one year. The vehicle just starts shaking and completely shuts off! Both times it happened in the freeway were cars are driving a constant speed of over 55 miles. Luckily I was able to just merge to the side of the freeway without causing an accident. Very bad experience just thinking I could of put my kids in danger since the engine just shuts off out of nowhere. This last time we were stranded in the grapevine where there was no stores or gas station close by just waiting for the tow truck to arrive. Both times my car has been in service for over a week. I am trying to request a replacement for a car that is not faulty or if they can just reimburse me what I’ve paid for and return the vehicle. I am very disappointed. We thought that one of the best car makers were BMW and it has let me down especially for the price.

Yesterday afternoon 4pm my car X5 2018 suddenly stop at middle of highway. I’m so nervous and scare. It was so dangerous. I was two boys still small, my boys nervous and cry make my feelings more panic. I dunno what to do. So I use my car call out road assistance for help. But they said my car no under registers???? My dealer ignore me. She said, I cant do anything. You have to call customer service yourself. This is the service from BMW. I bought this car at auto Bavaria Glenmarie with Adrienne (**). She ask me handle myself. Omg???? This is nightmare for me in my life and nobody help. I call toll free number. A Malay girl Zurah ask so much question is not related. Is this important? I’m customer. New car X5 breakdown in middle highway. Didn’t care help but ask so much question and ask and ask again. Then reply me ask me wait???? Ok I wait. Nobody call me then I call again. Another Malay (Ekin) answer the phone call.Still the same. No help and ask me wait???? Omg???? I wait and wait already 3 hour. BMW this your breakdowns service? Then I call again thats lucky I speak to a young man call Jeff from customer service dept. He help me. At last I feel safe. He arrange a torn truck & a taxi for me. Thank god he so kind. But I already been waiting middle of roadside with kids 4 hour. My life so dangerous. I just wanna cry???? My kids & me are hungry and I’m fall sick. Suddenly stomach pain and vomit due wait too long and panic middle of road. And all my appointments & dinner in Penang cancelled. Is a nightmare for me BMW... Hard for me to trust your service again.

I bought 2013 ActiveHybrid 3 from Patrick BMW at 15000 miles. (Certified Car), this car has been in and out of dealership for multiple issues, electrical and body. For some reason they are not able to fix the car. It is quite frustrating that both dealership and BMW North America is not willing to take up the responsibility for manufacturing the faulty vehicle and selling the faulty vehicle. The resolution that the BMW North America offered for a vehicle worth over US $30000 driven only 15000 miles that stayed in dealership (in and out) was only $1000 and thats it. I totally feel cheated and robbed in daylight by Patrick BMW and BMW North America. My suggestion: Do not BUY BMW you feel or ULTIMATE FOOLING MACHINE.

We purchased a 2005 BMW X3 in 2007 to be my wifes car. It had 22,000 miles, not bad. While its styled nicely, also with ample room for an SUV and it handles nicely, it has been a mechanical nightmare. Its our first BMW and I assumed it would be reliable and be of high quality. WRONG. It was OK for a couple years of use, up to 35,000 miles, but since then, its been one expensive repair after another. Things that SHOULDNT break in a relatively low-mileage automobile. First, it was the liftshocks that raise the back tailgate. It would drop down on your head if you didnt keep one hand holding up while unloading groceries, etc. I was able to do that repair myself with new shocks. Next, it was the back passenger window mechanism in which a plastic piece along the ridebar broke. No one was messing with the window. There was no abuse, just my wife lowering the window to bring in air. Of course, the plastic piece is part of a whole motorized ridebar/lift assembly and in order to fix (only a dealer has the parts, btw) cost $575! Ridiculous. Next, a cracked intake manifold, along with several other parts (faulty PCV valve, breather hose, vent valve) that required replacement. Cost: $1,500! This last October, it was a leaky oil pan and oil filter housing, $450! Finally, about six months ago, four lights appeared on the dashboard, AWD, brakes, I forget the other two. Well, theyre all related to the same thing: a small motor beneath the drivers side undercarriage that distributes torque to the four tires independently, thus AWD. Great concept, BUT NOT IF THE GEARS INSIDE THE MOTOR WEAR OUT which is exactly what happened. The car had about 51,000 miles when this occurred. The motor is inside a housing about the size of a football. The motor cost $1,800, plus $1,200 labor, grand total of $3,000! The labor is high because numerous things have to be removed under the car to get at, and replace, the AWD motor. Well, we have to wait to get this last fixed, but I WILL NOT BUY ANOTHER BMW AGAIN, EVER!! I could understand one fluke, one faulty part, but this has become an awful financial burden for us. My Toyota, on the other hand, has 74,000 miles and never a problem! Only basic maintenance: oil, tires, brakes... So you figure it out, which is the better vehicle?

My 2006 330xi has been a great car. My warranty expired after four years. During the four years of covered issues including replacement of tires twice (very loud run flats) and replacement of chrome around the windows that oxidized, I was still a happy owner. I noticed that the rubber strip that meets my windshield and the top of my car was flaking off of the car. I called my dealer, BMW Devon Hill. First, I was insulted on the telephone when the service technician asked me if my car was outdoors. Then, I brought the car in and he looked at the problem and showed it to the manager, and when I returned, I was told that I was out of warranty. He was kind enough to give me an 800 number to call. Why he didnt go any further to help me is the first complaint I have.I spoke to a very nice girl over a period of 10 days who also told me that I was out of warranty and basically told me to have a nice day. I wrote a letter to BMW. Someone called. That was a miracle. He asked me a few questions, called back, and had the same final decision. My complaint is the rubber probably cost about $5, if that and the labor might be 10 to 15 minutes. This automobile, ultimate driving machine cost me $42,000, and once I went out of warranty, it was, Goodbye. Youre out of warranty. I couldnt be more disappointed. I would never buy another BMW for something as small as this problem. I was insulted and basically dismissed by everyone. I think this is terrible public relations, customer service, call it whatever you want.

I have been purchasing and driving BMWs since 2002 and have purchased or leased 9 different NEW BMWs for myself, my son and my wife over the past 12 years. As a driving machine it is awesome, but their Bluetooth and Navigation software is beyond terrible... it is USELESS! The navigation software is only useful if the address has existed for more than 40 years in some cases, and every year, BMW tries to sell you an updated navigation disc for $200.00 - are you kidding me? The Bluetooth phone software is at least three years old on my 2012 X5 and even with their software update, it is at least two years behind current technology. I had to search for and buy a retro cell phone that BMW claims works in my car, but it DOES NOT! The software repeatedly drops calls and now its even dropping my phone from the system, causing me to repeatedly have to add new phone in the telephone Bluetooth menu; a process that can take several attempts and in one case more than an hour. I was doing this at least twice a week until I just said the hell with it and now dont use my phone through the BMW Bluetooth system. This is a huge inconvenience for me, as I make a lot of calls from my car in conjunction with my business. This has become so bad that I cannot use my phone in the car, unless I stop, turn on my Bose Bluetooth earpiece and make the call directly from my phone. I have complained to BMW numerous times, but quite frankly, they dont care. Their excuse is that BMW doesnt actually make the software, but purchases it from another vendor. When I pay in excess of $83,000.00 for a vehicle, I expect to be able to use my phone and access my phone book from the navigation screen and not have to stop my car and use a Bluetooth earpiece to initiate or receive a phone call. It is incomprehensible to me why BMW does not contract with a software company that will allow BMW owners to use whatever cell phone they wish and have it work properly in the car. As it stands now, only the iPhone will work in BMWs and then only certain of those and then only some of the time. I will not have an iPhone and I shouldnt have to use a phone I dont want, after spending the better part of one hundred thousand dollars for a BMW.

I have an BMW X1 2012. Its only 4 years and 100000 Km yet it already has leaking oil, leaking cooling system, leaking freon. My Honda civic 2005 so far has have no problems like that. Is an BMW better than a regular cheap Honda?

This my 2nd BMW that I have owned. One was a 1999 530i, and now I have a 2011 535i. My issues are with the interior and water leaks. I feel that both are BMW problems and should be fixed at their expense. The water leaks are from the moisture barrier within the doors. You would think that with the technology today this would not be an issue.Yet here I am knee deep in water in my back floorboard. I have owned several different cars that were much older and never had a leak anywhere. I do not understand how BMW can claim this is the Ultimate driving machine. My interior issue is with the driver door grab. It is made with some kind of soft material. The problem is it melts due to the extreme heat. Living in the South, we have very hot summers. I do use sunscreens. However it doesnt help. I had to remove the material and now I am left with an ugly looking door grab. Needless to say I am out of pocket for these fixes, Both problems I believe are manufacturer defects. My local BMW service center is in agreement with my reasoning. However BMW wont fix anything. My next Ultimate driving machine wont be a BMW.

I leased my BMW 328i - Jan 2013. All the wheels where the brakes are, shows a lot of rust. I went to my dealer Motorwerks of Barrington, IL and the service person/and manager looked at it and said it’s a normal wear & tear, however since I was not satisfied with the answer, so I called BMW of North America Customer service and Rep told me that it can be fixed and is included and is part of my Warranty. And so she conference the line with service manager who instead of servicing this issue accused me that I abused my car with an Acid pour?? Seriously ?? You are talking about selling a 43k worth of piece of ** AND THEN BLAME IT ON TO YOUR CUSTOMERS?? They are not only unprofessional but THUGS who SHY away from their Jobs!!!! However it is so much of shame that such a Reputable Brand like BMW is having these issues and problem with their expensive piece of Junks!!! And are unable to fix em! Can’t wait for my lease to be up and then bye-bye to them. Never going to send my valuable money and time on this Brand Name.

I have owned my 1995 BMW 740i since I graduated High school and received it as a graduation gift. The car now has 145,000 miles on it and is still running. BUT along the way it has developed bad valves and valve guides, the transmission has started to shift hard sometimes and I believe it has developed a rod knock. Yes the car is exceptionally comfortable and all the electronics still work, and is very fun to drive for a 2.2 ton luxury sedan, but a $65,000 car should not have these kinds of issues at 145,000 miles. These cars are very complicated and do have problems as a result, but they should not be having MAJOR mechanical problems 3/4 of the way through their life. I also realize that if youre going to drop that kind of money on a car you should be able to afford the repairs, and luckily I can, but I shouldnt have to!! I just want a luxury car that isnt in the shop every week, my Mercedes was a COMPLETE piece of junk (and it was new) and my 3 year old Audis tanny went out at 56,000 miles. So its sad to say but honestly my BMW has been my most reliable, and thats not saying much.

Never buy from Visalia BMW. I have purchased 3 BMW in the last three years and many BMW in the past. My 750Li just lost an engine with 4 months left on lease. BMW did not do anything financial to assist. No payments!!! The vehicle had 30k miles. They put a reman engine in. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER BMW EVER AGAIN. The dealer said there hands were tied and they could not do anything. All this could have been resolved for less than $4,000.00. BMW Corporate would not do anything.

I had service done at Vista BMW in Coconut Creek, FL after receiving via email service coupons and discounts. After the service was done and the emailed coupons were presented the Service Manager denied and did not apply the coupons. 20% discount was offered on any service done at the dealer. After the service was done, the manager refused to apply the coupon and pointed out the fine print. This coupon is very deceiving as it was very clear that they wanted to get customers pulled into the dealership for service thru this offer, only to turn it down when it was time to pick up the vehicle.

The 2006 BMW Z4 has a wonderful engine, smooth and powerful. Repairs are expensive so take care of it. It is nice to drive. Older models are very well equipped but not too technical. Good value for an older roadster.

Very confusing when they change network, they dont want to fix it. All BMW dealership tell you different stories. Customer relation is a joke, rude and obnoxious. This is my fourth Bimmer and customer service level is going down. I think BMW been losing money due to airbag recall, now network has change and dont want to correct this issue, very disappointed.

I have a BMW X3 2005 Model with approximately 60,000 miles. On 2-7-12, the heated seat caught on fire and burned a hole through the leather seat the size of a cigar. I contacted the local dealership and they said there was no recall on this subject. This raises a great concern to me, as you can imagine, a number of instances could happen with this defect; car catching on fire, car accident, burns, and etc. I am requesting some information and assistance to this matter.

I own a BMW 545i for years. I want to tell the world what a piece of crap this 65,000 $$$ car is. I mean really BMW sure did a number on everybody with this v8 engines. I want to share all my problems with this car with you guys. DME or ECU replacement and programming $ 3300.00. Alternator bracket leak $800.00. Timing cover and valve cover oil leaks $ 1800.00. Water pump replacement $600.00. Check this one out, engine transfer coolant pipe $2000.00 and thats using the bimmer pipe. Thanks to the guys. They invented this wonderful pipe that save me $5000.00. Yeah. BMW want it 7k for this job. AC heater valves $200.00, AC compressor $1050. Im the second owner of this car. I bought it with 40,000 miles. Now the car has 74,000 miles and more problems. Now the car doesnt want to start. It cant keep idle. I think its the throttle body or it could be the DME again-- look guys, Im sharing all of this with you guys cause I see all of this. People that want to buy a use BMW pls dont. Its cheaper to buy a glass of lemonade if you know what I mean. For me I rather died than buy a BMW new or used. Again thats all I have to said about that. BMW should really pay for these lemons that have sold over the years to people. Thanks for reading my frustrations.

Saturday, August 16, 2014, while going to 2:00pm appointment, drive train error notification came on and 2012 BMW 535 with 6,000 mile shut down on Littleton Blvd. in middle of traffic. While I have AAA Premier, I wanted to give BMW roadside assistance the opportunity to serve a customer in stress. I pressed the overhead SOS button and was connected to a rep who told me tow truck would arrive in 70 minutes, 3:38. At 90 minutes, no tow truck. So I called again and was told tow truck company had blowout and was on its way and would arrive in 10 minutes. At 35 minutes, no tow truck. So I called again and was told BMW roadside assistance would contact the tow truck company to see where they are and would call me back. They never called back. My wife who had arrived earlier who has Parkinsons Disease waited with me. I called again and was told the tow truck would arrive at 4:48... It never came. At 5:00pm, I called BMW roadside assistance again and they said tow truck was delayed and would arrive in 1.5 hours. I called Ralph Schomp BMW in Highlands Ranch Colorado, our dealer and they dispatched 2 employees, 1 to wait until the tow truck company arrived and another to take me to the dealership and provide a loaner. While at the dealer, my wife who was kind enough to wait for the tow truck with the Ralph Schomp employee was a nervous wreck when told the tow truck company Alpine operating in Denver had another 2-hour wait until a tow truck would arrive. This would make it 5 hours later. Finally the dealership called BMW and told them to cancel Alpine and send another tow truck company. Finally, after 7pm another tow truck company arrived and pulled the BMW 535 off the street to a parking lot and said they would come back as they had two more vehicles to attend. BMW Roadside Assistance has proven to be a joke! I will never use them again nor will we ever buy or lease a BMW product. I am a 76-year-old, a retired academic with a heart condition and as a result of BMW Roadside Assistance incompetence, I had to spend over an hour at home resting after the exhausting ordeal to survive the incredible stress they caused. I recommend never to trust BMW Roadside Assistance and we will file an official complaint with the company. Ralph Schomp BMW however are a professional group of people who did everything to solve the major problem of a drive train malfunction shutting our BMW down... Courteous, working over the top to provide needed assistance... while putting their own employees at risk.

This is another long history with the great BMW dealership! So one day Im enjoying my BMX X5, you all know what Im talking about. Get a new car, and its a good feeling! UNTIL!!!! You start to Experience Issues. I just got a new BMW and dont know mechanics so you have to take it to a dealership. Now I take it to Chapman BMW, And remember I have a 2003 X5 its the 4.4. They came out with a Estimate Bill for $7800. I was like what!!! So I work on cars for a living and I know they full of you know what, when they say that number. Cause I fixed most of their list for under $1300. They get you with their labor 1st, then the parts! In capital letters SHAME on you BMW!! So then after all the parts and time to fix her. 4 months later I start to Smell of burning coming into my vents also a noise coming from the rear and sound like my rear differential. So I take it to BMW and they tell me I have no leaks nothing burning, everything is great. Well I take the car back thinking that BMW knows what theyre talking about, WRONG!!! I smell it again so I call my service advisor to tell him the same thing. I smelled the same smell and I hear the same noise so I take it back. So then two weeks later they get back to me saying that my transmission is making that noise and that smell is my valve covers leaking onto my headers which I had just done my valve covers. Tell them really? But before this you said I was good with no leaks? I tell them off a little cause they have no clue what theyre doing! Well they do cause their Ripping off all of us these insane prices! Ill make it short now! I pay $798 to fix the Smell they said, and the Transmission is going out! They said! Get the car back two months later and what do you know I smell the smell again! I paid them to do a job to take care of the smell and see what that noise was. Well smell everybody is called the oil separator, I changed it for $30 and fixed it myself! The noise is my rear diff, like I had told them before but they said trans! They need to make things right for what we pay!

My BMW is an X3. It is by far the best car I have had since my last X3. I needed to drive a Cadillac and ACURA to really appreciate the BMW. It drives smoothly and with power. It has great gadgets and a wonderful sound system. After five months, it appears to be getting between 24 & 25 MPG. The seat are really comfortable and there is pretty of room in the back. I looked at a Cadillac XT4 but my golf clubs wouldn’t fit - they do in the X3. The blue paint is beautiful. I really enjoy this car and feel very safe when I drive it.

I own a BMW X5 which I bought in 2011 (manufacturing year 2008) with 24k in it. The car was running good for 3 years. We changed the tires in 2013 because we were told by our BMW technicians to do so. I cant remember whether we have changed any of our cars tires within 30,000 miles. Since we are ready to go for long drive, we didnt take any chance. Cost of four tires $1400. Oil change is around $180. Just after 50,000 miles, problems started. In 2014 winter time the car had starting problems. In the morning after several try, it would start. This year in January when the temperature was very low, the car stopped one evening. I couldnt start it. It was towed to the nearest battery shop (NTB) and the technician tested the battery. It came very low and I changed the battery. Next couple of days it was running well. Again the same problem started. I had to take it to the nearest BMW dealer. This time the story is negative cable of the battery which was just replaced few days back. Paid $524 and repaired. Got the car home. Within few days, the same problem. Took it back to the dealer. This time after 3 days, the diagnosis was relay problem, cost around $600. The dealership fixed it without charging me anything. 2015 March, all brakes have been replaced. The car was just breathing and I forgot that it is a $60,000 car. In July another problem. Accidentally we pumped regular gas instead of premium. Within seconds check engine light came on. The dashboard and the car started running like a motorcycle. Took it to the nearest technician and he changed the ignition coil ($187). The sound went off but the check engine light kept on coming back. My emission failed. Somehow the emission shop fixed something temporarily and passed the test. I registered my car for 2015. Next, the technician changed camshaft and leak detection pump to turn off the check engine light. Everyday when I start the car, I feel like it is going to stop somewhere. Before buying BMW, we had a high regard of the brand and now we feel ashamed to be an owner. I have warned all my family members and friends about BMW and I am writing it here so that people can think twice before what I didnt do. This is my first and last BMW. Customer care made a courtesy call (email) with the advice that if I take the car to BMW dealer for diagnosis, they might think to pay the repair cost if anything needed, but there is no guarantee. PLEASE DO NOT BUY BMW cars. The company makes cars for few years to run, whereas Toyota, Honda make more reliable cars for cheaper price. I drove Lexus, Acura, far far better than BMW.

I dont know where you went to have your oil changed, but I do know most of the drive thru oil change places have poor, untrained employees who know nothing about cars, changing your oil. Its very possible one of these employees introduced oil to your cooling system via the overflow tank which could have long term effects on your engine, water pump, etc. I believe if you are a BMW owner or German car owner in general, you need to have some basic automotive understanding which would include NOT taking your car to any random oil change place. Learn how to do it yourself using the correct oil, filter and tools, and it can be so rewarding. Or take it to someone who cares about your car as much as you do...

Honesty, integrity, service with these people is zero stars. They will lie to you and cheat you. Make you pay for things you did not accept until you actually read the bill then all they do is say “oh that was a mistake” after they try to make you sign the bill. Had a lot of issues with them personally and made my sister cry with her car purchase. Go elsewhere!

On Friday, July 12, 2013, the Eastern Shore of Maryland had torrential rain storms throughout the area. In Salisbury, Maryland, the City public works closed off streets promptly if they became flooded. On this date I drove my 2012 BMW 328I to the post office, and then to the bank to make some deposits. I traveled only over main thoroughfares that were being utilized by normal traffic. These streets were wet and had puddles of water encroaching on the streets as one would expect during torrential rain storms. While going from the post office to the bank the vehicle started missing, and an error message appeared which stated, Engine Malfunction Drive Moderately. All though the vehicle was running rough, I made my deposits and returned home and parked the car in our garage; believing that maybe the electronics got wet and they only needed to be dried out. The next Monday I started the car and it seemed to run better but the engine light and error message still were on. I then called the dealership in Annapolis, Maryland where I had purchased the vehicle approximately one (1) year ago and talked to a service representative about the problem. This service representative told me to bring the vehicle to Annapolis, which is about 90 miles from Salisbury. As there seemed to be a major problem with the engine I felt that they should pick up the vehicle as it was still under warranty with less than 10,000 miles usage. Finally, the Service Rep. told me to call BMW Road Service and have them trailer the car to Annapolis. The next Tuesday, a Service Technician from BMW Annapolis called me at about 9:00 AM and told me that there was water in the Air Filter and suggested that the filter and oil should be changed. I told him to go ahead as it was covered under warranty. He then stated that it was not covered under warranty and I inquired why as it was still in the warranty period since it had been driven less than 10,000 miles. After much discussion, I told him to go ahead and change these items, but I wanted a call from a management employee as I strongly felt it was a warranty problem. I also asked this technician how high the water would have to be to cause the problem he noted with the engine, and he stated, Up to the windows. Since he had the vehicle, I asked him if he saw any indication of a water line on the car, or even that the water had reached the floor boards. He responded in the negative, but stated that he was following his supervisor’s instructions. On the following Wednesday, the same Service Representative (with no call from the Supervisor), called and stated they changed the oil and air filter, but the engine light and the error message were still displayed. More investigation by the Service Representative showed that a rod had been bent and that it now needed a new $21,000.00 engine and by the way, it’s not covered under warranty. I was totally flabbergasted, as I could not believe that I driving a BMW during a rain storm would cause this kind of damage, and, that then it would not be covered under warranty. Please keep in mind I have been driving for over forty years with significant experience in similar rain storms, the BMW has less than 10,000 miles on it (has not even reached its first service period), and that BMW would even question whether or not the car had been in a flood when they had the vehicle there and there was absolutely no visual signs of flood damage.I again stated I wanted to talk to a manager regarding this problem and stated my complete disillusionment with BMW Annapolis on how they were handling this matter. This has been my third BMW over nearly 20 years (previous had 5 series BMWs), and I felt that as a luxury car organization they would stand behind there warranties and not treat their loyal customers in this manner. Finally, on this last Friday July 19, 2013, I got a call from the same Service Technician at 5:00 PM in the evening reiterating that he talked with his Supervisor, and that the engine needed to be replaced at a cost of $21,000 and that it would not be under warranty. I inquired why the Supervisor had not called me for over two (2) days when I specifically had requested this. Furthermore, I had been without a vehicle for well over a week, I am being told I need to spend $21,000 on a basically brand new BMW, and I don’t even get the courtesy of a phone call from a BMW Annapolis Service Supervisor. At 5:30 PM that evening I received an email (copy attached) from the Service Supervisor stating basically the same thing the Service Technician had said previously. I responded to the Supervisors email, and now I am writing you in a attempt to resolve this before it completely gets out of control. I have filed a claim with my insurance company, but feel strongly that this is a warranty issue, not an insurance problem. Even if it is covered, I will have to pay a deductable and the re-sale value of the car will be greatly reduced as it will be tagged as Flood Damage. Even though there is absolutely no evidence of the vehicle being in a flood, or for that matter in very deep water. As stated before, I have been a loyal BMW owner, driving in similar conditions as I experienced in this case, and have never been as disappointed as I am now with your company. I have many friends and associates that have BMWs and I have to say they are as flabbergasted as I am regarding this matter. I DO NOT think that this is the reputation that BMW would like to have in the public’s perception.

Purchased new 525i in 2001. Should have never purchased new 2009 528I. Spent too much time prior to 50K mileage warranty having BMW serviced and too much time plus money after 50K for other vehicle problems that were not covered by warranty. Called North America BMW headquarters in New Jersey. Headquarters could care less about their product and customers. Bought Porsche Cayenne 4 years ago and wondered what I ever saw in BMW. Complete night and day difference in quality of the vehicle. I will tell as many potential BMW buyers to NOT purchase a BMW. Do NOT purchase BMWs. I have been told that a significant amount of the money made by the company is from the repairs of the vehicles. Surely BMW headquarters is aware considering they are supplying the parts for all of the expected/planned repairs.

BMW does not stand behind their products. They do not work with their loyal customers to resolve their complaints. They took my car for repairs and told me I needed body work done on a car that was given to them intact. They caused damage to my vehicle and now are unable to repair it, replace it, or to provide me transportation in the meantime. I am stranded without a vehicle after being a loyal customer for a decade. Please look at other luxury vehicles as this one does not stand behind their product nor do they care to accommodate their loyal customers. BEWARE.

Cut and dry I had nothing but nightmares with my Bmw truck 2006 x5. It was my 3rd BMW and my last brought to Hassel Bmw to service every 3-5 months with higher price tags fuel pumps, tires, halo lights had shorts all the times, coolant light, check engine light. I needed a cyclone separator which cost out of pocket 1800 for just that issue. One time hassel gave me a bill total was 6k. I laughed like who yall think paying for that then I got smart. Thank God it was paid for so I traded my bmw and that was 40k when I first brought it only got 7k blue book trade in. I was hurt but got rid of it for a 2012 Toyota Camry. Best move I ever made. Word to the wise never buy pre owned bmw from anywhere. I would tell yall about the nightmares with my 330i and x3 but I have a life and will be typing till next year. Moral of story buy bmw brand new, never pre-owned.

On Sunday, my son, whom drives a 2008 328xi was driving, when all of a sudden, abs, dcs and critical engine malfunction lights came on and the car shut off. He swerved off the road and managed not to hit anything or anyone. The people behind him were all ok as well. God was watching my child. We towed the car to BMW and when they called me with an estimate I was shocked. I asked one question, why was there no warning lights that would warn him that his engine was going to malfunction? I was told, sometimes a person wakes up in the morning and by the afternoon they had a heart attack and die. Wow! When I said that my child was the one driving, I was told, if I cared so much about my child, I should think about putting my child in a newer car that does not have 111,000 miles on it. No words! When I purchased the car 4 years ago, it had 50,000 miles on it. The salesman told me that a BMW engine just starts to put at 100,000 miles. Funny, how when something goes wrong, then its an old car. Currently, there are 57 BMWs around me that are being sold at BMW dealerships with mileage over 100,000 and they are not cheap. I am upset and saddened that a BMW service tech would be as insensitive and a whole lot more.

BMW really needs to extend the warranty in these HPFP for E60. In less than 6 months Im on my second pump paying out of my pocket because they didnt make it good enough! And vehicle has 133K so warranty didnt cover it. Was in 127,000 first time and now back at it again! Im really been left down from BMW! I have to say people TO STAY AWAY FROM E60s!!! Its not worth it!
I have been having a problem with my car since I bought it brand new. First
I have been having a problem with my car since I bought it brand new. First incident occurred a week after buying my car at Sandton Auto. I had a problem with my brake pads. They were very noisy and couldn’t brake properly and got to a point where they had to be change within less than a month of buying a brand new car. After that, everything else was wrong in that car. Just after 2 months it started to have this noise in front - could be in the engine, I don’t know. I had to go home (Eastern Cape) so I couldn’t bring the car in. When I came back, I took my car to Zambezi Auto as I am closer to that side. They tried to fix it saying that it’s the cables going to or from the fan. All those cables were changed and my car was there for about 2 to 3 days.I went to collect the car and just before I got home the same day, the noise was still there. I called them and told them that what they did didn’t help even one bit. They arranged for me to bring back the car the following day. And mind you, that this is my only car, I just cannot afford to be taking it in where I can’t even get a loan car or any kind of assistance in terms of transport to and from work. My car spends another good 3 days there with them changing some other cables as well and re-gasing the fan or air-con. Then I went to collect my car again and the problem was still there. The noise was so loud that even people at the robot would turn heads. I told the dealer again that the problem was not fixed. This time around the cables inside my car were hanging around on the passenger sit side where I had to tuck them in. This is a new BMW car for God’s sake.I had to travel to Swaziland, so I was away for a month. When I came back, I had a tire bust and my car was towed to Menlyn Auto. Then, I told them as well about the problem. They looked at it as well and tried to fix it, but no luck. They said there was a new part that was needed and ordered it. And again I had to be car-less for more than a week. They did a test drive and told me that unfortunately the noise is still there and there is something else they have to do. Again, they chopped and changed whatever it was, but still the first day of me collecting the car the noise was there.I called them and told them as well, but nothing happened. I decided to bring it to the dealer I bought it from, which is Sandton Auto. I came with my problem and explained to the manager the whole story and the fact that if I bring my car in, I will need a loan car (which I was promised to get but didn’t). Then my car was booked in (this is the fourth time now in a dealer with the same problem). It stayed about 3 days because they had to keep the car in for testing in the morning to see exactly what could be wrong. They changed something as well and also when I went to collect the car, the noise was there before I could even get to the robot near them. I called them again and told them that whatever they did, it didn’t work because now the noise is getting worse. They booked the car again for the following week. I took my car there again to spend 2 days without a car and having to use public transport because no one could help. It stayed there again and they fixed few things, but still no luck. This time they even changed the entire computer system and this car was even giving false alarm warnings. This is what they told me and they didn’t know why because when they check the key, there was nothing. They also picked up that my PDC was loose (this confused me a lot). I went to them and spoke to the manager of the people fixing the cars, let him hear the noise I was talking about and he told me, Oh, that is a piece of cake. I can fix that easy.” This I couldn’t understand as he was the first person who was called to look at the car the first time it went to them. Now, this is the third time in Sandton Auto. The car was booked in for about 3 days now.The car went in, the system was changed, cables we replaced (now this feels like a second hand car) and everything else that could lead to this kind of problem was looked at by different BMW specialists. So more problems came out: 1. The speakers were damaged. I can’t even listen to proper music without the speaker kicking or vibrating or squeaking. 2. The car is vibrating now (and they did pick this up and said they will look at it). 3. I told them that the car sometimes doesn’t start, it just keeps quiet for a while. And this was looked at. Again, I had to leave my car there till the morning so that they can try and start it in the morning for testing (no loan car). 4. The brake pad’s noise is back (and the car was just serviced).5. The noise is worse than ever.I spoke to one of the employees there. She told me that this is a problem that they are experiencing in all BMWs. And she told me that BMW SA is aware of this problem. Most of the 320 I have this problem and there was a call out by BMW SA to change the fan belt to something else (can’t remember what). And she even told me about her own experience as she was at the robot and she heard this car (BMW) parked next to her with the same loud noise. So after that time I was told that they have to order a new fan for my car and change the entire fan system. This one was a masterpiece. I was asked where I bought the car by someone who was helping me there. I told them that I bought the car there by them and according to me the car was brand new. The reason why he asked this was because the car didn’t look like it was new and the PDC was not a BMW PDC. Wow - that’s what I said. I just said, “Wow.”This was a shock and I am asking myself lots of questions: 1. Could this be an old BMW car? 2. Is it possible that someone sold me a car that was a second hand? 3. Is it possible that this BMW car with these kinds of problems could be a demo or something?Really looking at it: is this possible? So right now I am still waiting for a call (which I don’t think I will get as it’s been 2 weeks already) for the fan and an explanation on the PDC. And right now the PDC is faulty for real. It beeps when you are too close to something. I really don’t know what to do in this situation. I don’t feel like I am driving a new car at all. As I travel a lot, I’m afraid that my car will soon be in 100,000 km where I won’t have the privilege of just taking the car in. I don’t have time to leave my car with the dealer anymore as I have proven that this problem cannot be fixed. I am tired of complaining and being stranded in terms of transport and worrying if this beautiful BMW 320 M Sport car cannot just stop in the middle of the road. Can someone out there help me, please?

Bought this 2010 BMW X5 35d brand new from a dealership in Colorado. Its spent more time in dealership shops than in the garage. Check engine lights, battery drain problems, electrical problems... on and on and on. The worst car Ive ever owned and at a most ridiculous price. Many times the check engine light or battery drain light (or whatever) comes back on or recurs within a day or within a week. Back to the shop we go... only to be told they cant find it or replicate it. Great. I go home, it starts again. Its beyond ridiculous. As soon as I pick it up from the shop this time (its getting the THIRD battery now), Im selling it. Ill never own another one again. EVER. Dont waste your money. Ive owned two Hondas -- they were great, comfortable, reliable cars. Im not sure what Ill buy next, but it wont be a BMW.

I am the sole owner of a 2007 BMW X-3. I have had my car serviced at South BMW in Miami, FL. I have owned this car continuously since 2007. I was to be a loyal BMW owner until a recent discovery. The right rear motor mount bracket screws (the four bolts broke off), the engine is not sitting properly and the transmission is making a discernible noise. I only drive on city streets and highways. I am not an off-road driver and this vehicle has not been involved in any type of accident. The BMW warranty covered my vehicle to 50,000 miles. I did not purchase the extended warranty (maintenance warranty offered by the dealership) as it covered nothing. I am afraid that the engine will fall out of the vehicle, causing bodily injury or maybe even a fatality. I noticed that you already have one complaint about this same issue. Please help me. I am not asking for you to replace my vehicle, just fix it to where I can drive it again without fear.

I have bought a CPO BMW 2011 328i back in April 2013 at McKenna BMW in Norwalk, California. Since day one the sales advisor was unable to do a check list with me, a bad start. I had to go back three times and ask the service advisors on how to work my vehicle. Then, not even a month later I went back for the bottom trim on the back windshield that was coming loose. McKenna repaired the trim and not even a week later it came out again. I took it back a second time, repair it again and here we go, not even a week later the trim is loose. Finally, they got it right the third time around. Now, the trim is fix. Let’s move on to the brake light inside the car that came loose. The car went back to the dealership for that repair. Two week later I found a loose plastic in the bottom part of the passenger seat, so here we go again to the dealership. They got it fixed. Not even a month later I noise started to come out from the front of the vehicle every time I exited my drive way. I took it to McKenna three times and finally the foreman ** was able to identify there was actually a noise from the suspension. McKenna kept the car for more than a weeks without any follow ups with me. I would have to call to know an update and every time I was told they were unable to duplicate the noise. I told the foreman specifically on how to duplicate the noise, and they kept saying we can’t hear it. I called BMW of North America and a Field Technician came down to the dealership and check the vehicle and I was advice unable to duplicate. Keep in mind all of these problems in less than five months with my car. All McKenna had to say is “We cannot do anything about getting you into another car. We are sorry you are having problems; there is nothing we can do for you.” I have been talking to ** Executive Consumer Care from BMW of North America and all he has to say is “Keep the car. If we can find the noise before your 50k the warranty will fix it. But if not you are liable for the cost of repairs.”

On 08th of September I collected brand new BMW X1 (my dream car), sDrive16d SE N47 2.0, GU64EVC from your dealership. The car is defective and the faults are: 1. Very stiff reverse gear (due to this now I am suffering from a tennis elbow on my left hand). 2. The In car sat nav system which cost me 890.00 (low volume mainly when driving in motorways & giving wrong directions). My TomTom sat nav, which I bought for 200.00 is about 5 years old and have much more features and options than the pricy in car sat nav (if I have known this I would not buy it). 3. The driver seat is too low & most uncomfortable car I have ever driven in my whole life. Every time I take a long drive I end up having severe back pains. (I am at a point that I can’t risk my health). I have to say, I am very disappointed & have lost my trust in BMW due to the entire experience. I have been told by service department that they cant find any fault with the car and they are not going to help me. Few more issues I would like to make you aware of the car, these glitches don’t occur continuously however do happen and truly frustrating: The radio/music stop functioning unexpectedly, Unable to use the Bluetooth, Sat nav disappear from the screen, Tire pressure warning light keep on appearing. It seem as I have to check the tire pressure every two weeks. How inconvenient is this.

I purchased a 2013 X5 last year and after putting 13k miles on the vehicle, I am told that it needs new tires. The dealer said that they should last 30k miles, but have worn uneven. Because I have purchased 7 ($500k worth) vehicles from BMW over the past 12 years, I thought that they would work with me in replacing the tires. They told me that it was my problem and that they are not doing anything about it. Well I am 35 and at this rate will be purchasing 15+ new vehicles over the next 35 years.... guess its time to give the Audi and Mercedes a try! I am sure that they value their loyal clients more.

I was informed by the BMW dealership that my certified 2017 BMW X1 needed a motor mount replaced. The car has 30K miles and I had driven 5K in a little over a year that I owned the car. The warranty does not cover the motor mount however, after only 30K miles, the part must be defective. Furthermore, the cost was quoted as close to $1500. BMW customer service, after speaking with the dealer negotiated the cost down to $600+. I told the BMW rep that it was still not acceptable and would he send me the details of his conversation with me to my Email. I wished to pursue the matter. He said that was not possible! I could not appeal the decision and that was final. I rarely have been spoken to in such a manner as if I were an errant school girl. A take it or leave it attitude. Very shocked about how the BMW company is represented. I would characterize the rep as a junkyard dog. There to discourage the customers. I have an appointment to have the part replaced outside the dealership and the cost will be less than $300. I will also be writing a review of the BMW dealership.

3 Year Tire & Wheel Contract for BMW X5 - I thought I was purchasing peace of mind. That was what I was told when I bought the warranty. When I ran into a problem, no one was able to help. I was told to replace the tires on my own and get the money back from the contract. Little did I know, they pro-rated the money I paid and then gave the money to the lien holder.

My recommendation is to find another source to finance the purchase/lease of a BMW. Perhaps avoid the product altogether. I assumed a lease, 12 months remaining, in January of 2016. The original account/lessee had prepaid the lease including the applicable sales taxes due the original State of Registration - MA. I registered the vehicle in my home State of Maine where sales taxes on leased vehicles are paid in full upfront upon registration. At that time I informed BMW Financial Services (BMW) that I would be registering the vehicle in ME and therefore sales taxes prepaid and due MA for the remaining term of the lease would no longer apply. I made the argument then that the prepaid balance on the BMW lease account, relative to sales taxes collected for future remittance by BMW to MA, should be refunded to me, the new Lessee of the vehicle. I was told that BMW would stop billing MA sales taxes to the account upon receipt of documentation proving that the vehicle was now registered and titled in Maine. Any balance collected upfront for MA sales taxes and remaining on the account would only be refunded to me at the end of the lease term. As of today, BMW continues to bill me for MA sales taxes even though the vehicle has been registered in ME since January of 2016. I phoned BMW today to revisit this situation; their response was that nothing could be done because the account was originally prepaid. Sales taxes are due monthly on a lease in MA, they continue to bill, collect and pay MA sales taxes because that is how they do it. Sound like BS to you? At best this is an error BMW is unwilling to correct on behalf of a long standing customer with three finance accounts currently active with the Company. At worst it is outright fraud that they are collecting and pocketing taxes that are not due/payable to the State of MA. What is a BMW customer worth over their lifetime? Im not asking for a discount, Im asking to be refunded sales taxes that are being paid twice, once to the original State of MA and now to the Sate of Maine. We are talking about $600 versus over $300,000 in lifetime value of a BMW Customer. BMW is not willing to make an effort to make this right, what does that tell you about their commitment to customer service. They are willing to lose over $300,000 of customer value and avoid correcting a $600 error on behalf of a long standing customer.

I bought my R1100RT brand new in Oct., 2000. i rode her daily back and forth on Los Angeles freeways for a year. I put 31,000 on her during first year. She handled very well in rough traffic: stops on a dime and has the ability to power you out of tight spots like a rocket if need be. I rode her recreationally over the next couple of years, and due to knee surgery, I had to park her in my garage over the 2003-2004 time period. Occasional starts during 2005 ended with a dead battery, and her sitting quietly in my garage until the spring of 2012 (yes 7 years). I FINALLY put a new battery in her and she started up with a chug, until I put fresh gas in her. She rode like a champ and I had her serviced within a week. I've put almost 800 miles on her in the first two weeks of bringing her back to life and she hasn't missed a beat. I was thinking about trading her in for a new R1200RT, but after riding her and enjoying the looks of onlookers, I don't think I could ever get rid of her. This is one great machine built by one great company. If you have one; keep it.

Keeps me updated on my car and what to expect of my car and what to look out far to keep my car operable and running at its best. This is my first BMW given to myself for my 60th BD. I purchased a brand new 528 BMW and the battery went dead in less than 5,000 miles. And the dealer refuse to replace it under the warranty. They make me pay for it. And now it made me upset even more. Because the battery dead again in 2 1/2 yrs later. But this time they said I have a shortage in the wires or whatever and it costs me over a $1000.00. At this point, I just gonna sell that piece of **. And never buy another BMW. I believe Ive been ripped off by BMW or the dealership.

Ive always wanted a BMW. When I chose this car I was not looking to buy a car but I fell in love with the look of this car. Then I took it for a test drive and found that it was such a fun car to drive. I was hooked and it drove like a dream. Its very fast and handles very well. Its also beautiful and comfortable. I loved the color combination with the black exterior and gray interior. It has many airbags and its a very safe car to drive. I also love that it has a GPS in the dash. And I like that I can switch from comfort mode to fast with a touch of a button. I like the backup camera as it comes in very handy too. But I wish I had paid more attention to the back seat as it is very tight. Although, it is comfortable if youre very short. Other than that, I would recommend this car to family and friends. Will also only buy BMW from now on.

BMW North Scottsdale took action to correct this situation. I can honor and respect a company that does the right thing and they have changed my mind about how I feel not only about BMW but about Penske Automotive Group. Thank you guys I appreciate what you have done not only for my car but for my family.

I purchased brand new 2011 BMW 128i which they no longer make for the price you are only paying for the name not the quality of a good car. I had issue from the start with the front end still never figured out what the noise was coming from. I now have 75,000 miles on it in the garage every night regular maintenance and this year alone problem after problem - Oil pan gasket leak $842+, Valve cover gasket leak $802+. Blower and wires fried replaced $750+, Gasket on the housing for oil filter $800+, Front struts $1450+. These prices are from the dealer that I purchased the car from brand new at @35k - nice loyalty to repeat customers, time to go back to a Honda and not Keeler.

We bought a car two years ago from a local BMW dealer. Apparently, a class action had been filed for this particular car (a 2000 228CI) for sub-frame tearing. In their settlement, they only notified their first owners. This year, we ended up with sub-frame tearing. The cost of repair was $6000. We want this covered. They offered to cover $1000 if we promised to never sue them. We have signed nothing. We would like an attorney to contact us about the complaint and we would like to have the full cost of repairs covered as this is a safety issue. We have pictures and the original part. Sub-frame tearing? SUB-FRAME tearing? I had never even heard of this!

I CONSIGNED ON A lease 2013 BMW 328ix. The car was repossessed in 11/2015. The lease ends March/2016. I had a right to take over payments. I called BMW Financial/Collections to pay the balance 11/25/2015. They explained there was a deadline as of 11/20/2015 to pay and obtain the vehicle. How was I supposed to know this when BMW never informed about the repossession or a deadline?
My 2009 BMW 328xi had trouble starting one day. I brought it to my mechanic
My 2009 BMW 328xi had trouble starting one day. I brought it to my mechanic and he said everything looked fine. My car had been serviced by BMW until I bought the car in December 2014. So in Feb 2015 when I was driving my car on the NYS thruway, it shut down!!! The car shut down!!! Fuel Pump warning came on. I was fortunate I was able to steer the car off to the shoulder and called AAA. They towed it to my mechanic less than two miles (how lucky) and my mechanic replaced the fuel pump, even though he said, it looks fine. August 2015 (less than 6 months later) I was traveling in the Bronx going through a light when AGAIN car shut off. I was able to coast to a gas station. Lucky again. FUEL pump warning again. I called my mechanic and he said it seems like something more serious.I called corporate and they suggest to get my car to the Spring Valley NY BMW dealer where they say first, the pump was not a BMW pump (it was, my mechanic actually bought the part from the dealer!!). Then dealer said it was on backwards.. PLEASE!!! They had my car a week and I asked if they diagnosed the problem. They said no but they replaced fuel pump AND fuel tank. 3 weeks later I am driving on Route 17 South Middle lane, 60 miles an hour, traffic all around, and YES fuel pump light and car shuts down!!! I swerved and was able to get the car to safety. LUCKY 3 times!!! BMW has a serious problem with fuel pump. Today the car is at the dealer. I logged a formal complaint, a Liability complaint with BMW 3 weeks ago and again this week. This is a serious matter. This car is a DEATH trap!!! Today I received a call from Corporate stating that they will Not pursue this matter in any form!! Can you believe this?? BMW needs to accept responsibility on this. I was told by a lawyer that if I was hurt or was killed I would have a case. I will not wait until there is a fatality. We need to do something now. Please anyone with fuel pump issues, please contact me. I am relentless and will have BMW accept their responsibility.

My car 2007 328 xi was broken for 3 weeks. I was initially told it was the bad AC compressor, and now, I was told that the AC compressor actually led to engine chain broken. The cost to fix it is more than $50K! Can anyone tell me why a bad AC can have such a huge impact? There are so many cars that can still drive with a broken air conditioner. What a stupid design! My car is only 46000 miles and just out of warranty! I called BMW NA custom relations, they told me they cannot offer any help. This will be my first and last BMW!

I am very disappointed with the service I have received from the dealership
I am very disappointed with the service I have received from the dealerships in the Atlanta, GA area. I purchased my car on January 15, 2015 and it was one of the proudest moments in my life. I have had to take the car in several time because of the oil leak and I was told by the 2 separate dealership that they cant find an oil leak. I took my car to a certified BMW mechanic and he informed me that there is a known oil leak with BMW 750li NG3 engine but BMW refuse to fix or change the engine. I got up this morning and wrote a letter of complaint and when I was looking for the Customer Complaint information for BMW I found this website. I went through and read all the posted complaints and I see I am not the only owner who is having oil leak and my air conditioner going out.It seem to be a big problem with BMWs and I am very disappointed but I refuse to drive a car that smokes, leaking oil and the air conditioner not cooling properly. I work for a major transportation company and I am going to be sure I let everyone I work with know the problems I am having with the so call Ultimate Driving Machine. Sounds like I bought a Lemon so if we are going for action lawsuit count me in. I agree that the 750li should considered a LEMON.

I bought 2013 BMW 328i xDrive in Sterling, VA. My car has 74k miles on it. This car brand new is about 40k. Total repair cost so far: - At 47k miles - transfer case cover failed. - Cost to repair - $7,500. - At 73k miles - Head display unit, where you see navigation & radio etc, froze and failed. - Cost to repair - $2,200. - At 73k miles - Engine valve cover gasket started leaking oil and the Sterling BMW told me that it is at 8 on a scale of 10 to leak fire and catch fire. - Cost to repair - $1,000. TOTAL COST OF REPAIRS SO FAR - CLOSE TO $11,000 = CLOSE TO 25% OF NEW CAR PURCHASE PRICE.I have in my life never ever seen 25% repair costs in first 75k miles on any car I have driven. Highly disappointed and speechless. Thought this was a high end, high quality German built car. I called Sterling dealer, they said they acknowledge the repair price tag and agree that BMW North America should do something about it. So call BMW North America. They said I should have bought extended warranty - Ha!

I looked up all of these reviews to decide what to do about my 2011 BMW Coupe. I previously owned a 2007 328xi sedan. When the 6 years of warranty ran out, I had expenses of over $1000 frequently. I traded it in on a 2011 Coupe, with warranty. I almost have 50,000 miles on this car and I will definitely spend $2000.00 to get the next warranty. Then I will sell the car or trade it in. I love my BMWs. They are fun to drive and MY dealers have been great. The first was DeSimone BMW in Mt. Laurel, NJ, the current one is in Atlantic City, NJ. I always get a loaner car. The staff is polite and they answer my every need. As long as the car is under warranty, it is all good. It is so sad for me to read the horror stories on this site. I thought I was getting ripped off buying my 2011, it seems not. I wish the best for all of you. These are expensive cars, and for me they are worth it for the service and atmosphere, AND driving.

I have a 2003 BMW X5 purchased new from BMW Mississauga. As I live in Ontario, we do have some cold days. On several occasions during December and January, the two front doors were frozen and I could only enter the car through the passenger door on the drivers side. After driving the X5 into a warm garage, I was able to open the two front doors after some 45 minutes. I took the vehicle to BMW Mississauga to have the two door locks repaired and I was presented with a bill for $1,010.00. To be charged anything for a BMW defect is in itself somewhat unfair, however, to be charged over $1,000 is almost criminal.

Driving along and all of the sudden a fan came on with a loud blowing sound. I parked my car and planned to take it to the shop the next day. I checked the coolant, it was a little low so I added. The next while on the way to the shop, still loud blowing, the engine overheat warning came on. I pulled over and towed to the shop. As soon as they hear the fan come on, they said immediately, the water pump failed - We get about 4 or 5 a week on this car. As a result, I have to replace a water pump, and cracked radiator, $2,000. I check the internet and found many, many of the same complaints. I read that there was a recall for the X5s with the V8 engine. I imagine the design is the same and therefore the recall should include the V6 engine as well.

In a period of last 12 months, my 2010 BMW X5 has had the following failures, which leads me to believe either that BMW has no quality in their products or this SUV is just a lemon. 1. Check Engine Light - Radiator replaced in Jan 2014. 2. Car slows down in the middle of the road and stops - Fuel pump bushings replaced in Aug 2014. 3. AC stops working - AC leak Schraeder valve- Aug 14 4. Thrust rod replaced - Aug 14 5. Check engine light on - Oil leak from Oil Filter Housing - Nov 146. High pitched noise from the hood - Crank Case Vent system - Dec 14Called BMW for the last problem today and they just washed their hands off. Leads me to believe that they dont stand behind their product. Buyers beware. Do your research before you buy. There is certainly no driving experience here. It is the fear of your car stalling at any time.
I purchased a 2015 BMW 435i brand new. I purchased all the extended warrant
I purchased a 2015 BMW 435i brand new. I purchased all the extended warranties and maintenance packages. Since 2017 I have had an ongoing issue with the car not starting. It happens when least expected. I have replaced the battery 3 times in the last year. The last time it was in for repair I was told that they could not replicate the problem. So basically BMW cannot fix their own product. I was so frustrated. I told my service advisor that if they can’t fix it then no one can! No one cared! I called customer relations to No avail.I thought I would be able to keep this car for many years to come but due to its unreliability, I had to trade it in for a completely different brand. I lost tens of thousands of dollars! Last but not least, I called the finance department to get a refund on what was left of the extended warranties only to find out that many of them are no refundable! I will tell anyone who will listen, do NOT purchase any of these vehicles, they are not the quality that they are marketed to be. I know at least three other people who have had multiple problems with various models. One of which sued with lemon law and got another vehicle. I did not want another vehicle, I just wanted them to fix mine! This was a VERY expensive lesson learned.

I own an 08 760Li that was purchased in 11/08. Its less than 4 years old and would still be under warranty if the car had 5k miles less. The logic 7 amp quit and BMW failed to offer any assistance for the replacement. When you look on the internet, you will find a multitude of complaints about this amp failing. The car was 134,600 dollars new and Im in shock that BMW doesnt stand behind their product.

I was driving my BMW 320d in Ludhiana, Punjab, India. A big speeding truck came from the opposite side and some water on road truck splashed onto the bonnet and front grill of the car and the car stopped immediately. I had to leave the car without trying to start the engine again. The next day, Krishna automobiles, Ludhiana (authorized dealers in Ludhiana of BMW) took away the car on my request.

A 3 long 1/2 thick sheared and fell out on the driveway. The dealer (Jackie Cooper Imports, OKC) identified it as one of the bolts that bolts the transmission to the engine block. They could not say why it broke and BMW USA refused it as a warranty claim even though the driveline is covered by the CPO extended warranty. In the two years I have owned this car it has had the fuel pump go out, the fuse block melt, the water pump fail, and both catalytic converters fail. The dealer said call it was BMW USA, BMW USA would do nothing other than refer me to the dealer. This is a legitimate warranty claim and they are refusing to cover simply stating that is not covered by the warranty. No explanation, no body to talk to who can do anything about it. The warranty is not worth the paper it is written on. I love their cars, I hate their company. The dealer has been equally useful.

I leased 2014 328i since Feb. 2014 and has 4600 miles on it and just went to BMW service for the fourth time with same issues. First they cant duplicate the issue then second time foreman got into my car and verified the noise. Third time, they could not verify again when the noise still continues and fourth time, I decide to take it to different BMW service center and the mechanic sat with me and verified the noise is there and wrote on service report. But, as I picking it up the noise were still there and I notified BMW north America but no response. What should I do? Should I hire a lawyer? Or is it something I can deal with BMW North America?

Hello I would like to make a complain about my BMW 520d 184ps 2011. My car left me while I was driving. Suddenly I didnt have any power and my car stopped. I took the car to BMW dealer and they told me that is the same problem I had 2 years and one month ago. The injection system and I need to change the same parts as 2 years ago. 2 years ago BMW paid for the parts and I only paid for the workmanship. Then around 120.000-130.000 km, and now I have 214.000 km and I dont consider normal that the injection system should be changed after 90.000 km. Please help with a solution for my problem.

I Vikash ** owner of my 320D BMW, which I had purchase on 14th Feb 2018 from RANCHI JHARKHAND sharing here my experience with this brand and their agencies. The tyre of left side both front and rear crack at ones on running condition on 22nd Dec 2018 on smooth road in a speed of 50 to 60 km/hr. Now see the quality of material using by this brand. The agency persons of Ranchi are not able to clear the reason. And also they are worst in giving updates. I had drived my car approx 14000 km and BMW given me this gift. I am totally dissatisfied of my decision for going to purchase this BRAND.

I bought a 2003 Dinan 525i used with ~60K on it. In the last 7 years Ive logged another 180K+ on it. While I have had to do repairs (I work on it myself) it is nothing out of the ordinary; tires, brakes, coolant system rebuild (pump, radiator, fan clutch, overflow tank and pulleys/belt), alternator, O2 sensors, vanos seals and intake rubber ducting, all gearbox fluids changed. It is all to be expected for a car of this age. I have no complaints as the car has served me well. Some interior trim has broken or weathered and has been replaced, and the sunroof tracks will get replaced this summer. I am getting it detailed to celebrate its 250K milestone. This car owes me nothing! It has served me well and I have no indication that its getting tired.

I leased a brand new 5 series and it had a rodent nest and the rodents ate up all the wires. The power steering went after only having the car for 7 days. BMW headquarters does nothing for you. They claim the dealerships are individual owned and you have to deal with the service manager. Never ever again will I go back to BMW after this.

I leased a 328i three years ago. It was my second one. United BMW in Roswell bent over backwards to get me into another vehicle, treated me like gold... The car had 21,000 miles on it, a cream puff. When I told them I was not interested in leasing another they put their game face on. Inspecting and reinspecting the vehicle in full sun for anything they could tag me with. They pulled out their dingo meter and one tire was a tenth of 1 millimeter off... They banged me for 300 bucks. My dent and ding package only covered the ding if the paint was not chipped on top… They took out the microscope. The general manager was an **... They lost a good customer. I will make sure I let all my friends know. Be prepared if you lease a BMW, they will bend you over in the end.

I filed for bankruptcy on the 7th of July, 2010. BMW financial services was not listed. I kept the vehicle (certified used, finance purchase in 2007) and continued my monthly payments as per contract which was signed when I purchased the vehicle. After a year out of bankruptcy, this August 2011, I was informed that I do not have any grace period. I have written to BMW and the reply was, the contract can not be changed because of bankruptcy. I am not asking to change the due date which is the 28th of each month, the 8 or 10 days grace period is in question of which I had the advantage of, before and after bankruptcy which helped me to meet my monthly payment. BMW has taken away this grace period. This is terrible in these days when the economy (lack of jobs) is a bad shape. I just have merely a year to pay off on the vehicle. Does BMW care about good customer relationship as they can re-posses the vehicle and sell vehicles more than the owed balance?

I purchased a used 2005 BMW 525i almost two years ago and it had 52,000 miles on it. Thank goodness I decided to purchase an extended warranty through my lender because at 75,000 miles or so, my transmission started acting up. This vehicle has not been neglected and has been taken good care of. However, I had transmission fault messages on my computer, so I took it in. Turns out that my transmission needed to be replaced. After my $7,000 transmission was put in, I still had problems. They reprogrammed the vehicle to try and fix the problem, and Im still having problems. Its also really slow on take off and it shifts from 2nd to 3rd really hard. And when I slow down, it shifts really hard from 2nd to 1st. All in all, my warranty company has paid out over $10,000 in repairs over the past two years, almost half of what I paid for the vehicle. That is just ridiculous. Ive read so many peoples horror stories about their BMWs transmissions failing and I just wanted to share my story too. I know that BMW is not taking responsibility for any of their vehicles so I felt like I should share. The more people that come forward, the better. Maybe one day BMW will own up to producing some rotten transmissions in their vehicles. All I can say is thank goodness for warranties. But its not about that. Its about your car, your BMW that you love so much, being in service for a month, and having issue after issue. Its frustrating and BMW needs to to tighten up their products.

Im a long term BMW customer that took pride and enjoyment in driving BMW products. I have purchased 4 motorcycles and 2 cars. Sadly, I had the misfortune of purchasing a 2009 BMW 1300 GT (vin # **) with 11 pages of recall repairs. I purchased the bike from BMW of Oklahoma in 2010. The bike was a demo. I have found out that the dealer had stalling problems with the bike because in 01/23/2010 (6510 km) the shop worked on testing software. At time of purchase, I was not informed that the bike had a serious problem or that BMW had issued a Recall 09V471000 on the bike - Engine stalling could result in vehicle crash dated 12/04/2009. Remedy: BMW will notify owners and repair the motorcycle free of charge. BMW did not notify me of the recall. If I had been notified of the recall, I would never have driven the bike and would have gotten in touch with BMW.On 07/29/2011 (33234 km) I took the bike to Bobs BMW because the engine was stopping: again testing software. On 06/22/2013 (65734 km), while on vacation, I took the bike to Eurosport BMW of Asheville for the same problem: same repair. I did not ride the bike in 2014. I started having same problems again this year. While on vacation, I stopped at BMW dealer of Montreal on 07/08/2015 (38493 miles). They said the problem was not software but the stepper (idle) motor and airbox. On way home, I stopped at Velocity Cycle BMW dealership. They made the same recommendation as the Montreal dealer.I have been in touch with BMWs customer service and all I keep hearing is stalling tactics: bike is out of warranty, waiting response from regional representative... Im tired of being ignored and given bad information. Its fortunate that Im a good driver and have not crashed when the engine stopped. I have taken the bike off the road and will not drive it. Will someone in BMW please take action and solve this problem.

I bought a 2006 BMW 750i CPO. I bought the car with only 39000 miles on it. I have 67000 miles now. I was told the car had 6 years and 100000 miles of warranty on it. When I called about another problem with the car, was told the cars warranty had elapsed. I told them the car was warrantied until 2012. The dealer told me the car was bought in 2005 even though it is a 2006 model and that it had expired. I informed them that the sales person told me the car was warrantied until 2012 and not 2011. They will not honor any warranties. Since purchasing the car, I have been in the shop for Thermostat problem, lighting problem, fluid leak problem from transmission and coolant, steering column problem, etc. I called the dealer and National BMW and nobody will help me. The transmission now has a warning light. If I replace transmission it will cost $5k to $7K.

On July 29, 2010, I purchased a 2010 BMW 3 Series 328xi at BMW of Orland Park. The purchase included a balance of factory warranty for four years or 50,000 miles on all parts. The air conditioning was blowing warm air when the controls were set to cool and I took my car to the service department on May 18, 2013. The service department rep said the refrigerant was low, there were no leaks found and that he will evacuate and recharge the system. He also said dye will be added to help determine the location of the leak. The system was then blowing cool. I had no reason to suspect that the service department was not working in good faith to resolve the problem. The air conditioner was blowing warm air when the controls were set to cool again and I took my car to the service department on May 23, 2014. The service department rep said the refrigerant was low, there were no leaks found and that he will evacuate and recharge the system. I requested that the air conditioner system is repaired or replaced. He also said it is difficult to do diagnostics for a refrigerant leak and that an oil will be added to help determine the location of the leak. The system was then blowing cool and I was charged $209.19. I had no reason to suspect that the service department was not working in good faith to resolve the problem. The air conditioner was blowing warm air when the controls were set to cool again and I took my car to the service department on March 31, 2015. I explained to the service department rep named, Craig, that I am not willing to pay for diagnostics, evacuation and a refrigerant recharge again. I requested that the air conditioner system is repaired or replaced. I also requested that BMW, at the minimum, assist with the cost since the warranty was still active and not utilized at the initial appointment when I reported the air conditioner not working properly. I entered a caveat beneath my signature on the work order that I only agree to have the air conditioner system reviewed for subsequent repair and/or replacement. I told Craig at least four times during the consultation, I do not want to pay for an evacuation and recharge procedure.Craig told me the AC condenser could be damaged from a rock, so hell have to check out the whole system anyway, especially since its out of warranty. I explained to Craig that since the car was not out of warranty the previous two times I reported the issue, some consideration should be given to me as a customer. Craig said he will check with BMW and see if they will help pay as a good-will gesture. He said BMW would probably pay 85% of the cost. I told Craig that I am a single small woman who is financially alone and that I cannot afford to pay $300 every year for diagnostics, evacuation and a refrigerant recharge because I do plan to keep the car. I am planning to retire within the next five years and this is not in my budgetary agenda. Also, I explained if I were to pay $300 every year for the next five years, I would have paid to have the air conditioner system replaced.Craig responded by saying that he was not independently wealthy either. So I left my car with the understanding that every effort would be made to determine how the air conditioner system would be repaired and/or replaced. Craig called me on March 31, 2015 and asked for my permission to keep my car for another day. He said, they couldnt find anything wrong with the air conditioner system and will continue to try to find the problem. I agreed.Craig called me on April 1, 2015 and again asked for my permission to keep my car for another day. He said, they couldnt find anything wrong with the air conditioner system and will continue to try to find the problem. I sighed and he said, and I quote, Hey, Im trying to help you out. Were checking out the evaporator coil and trying to see if its the factory. Even though his tone was unprofessional, I agreed. It was at this conversation I began to suspect that he was not working in good faith to resolve the problem and that there is no recourse for me.Craig called me on April 2, 2015 and said he couldnt find anything wrong with the air conditioner system or any leaks. I asked him if an evacuation and refrigerant recharge was done and he said yes. He did exactly what I asked not to be done. I told him I was not pleased that this issue was not resolved as I requested. He said he did me a favor because he charged me for only one unit of refrigerant and he put in two units. When I asked why cant the system be repaired or replaced, he said they dont know what part to repair or replace. I am so discouraged and angry that I was not given a more intelligent explanation. BMW can build machines for which they cannot repair? He said he will notate on the invoice, that next time, I will not have to pay for the diagnostics. He said maybe next time Ill get a convertible for the loaner car.Craig suggested that I pick up my car in the morning because traffic was heavy on La Grange Road that time of the evening and he wont be there. I dont use La Grange Road to travel to Ziegler BMW and I wasnt interested to seeing him considering my disappointment to the way this issue was handled. So I picked up my car within 45 minutes after being notified to do so. When I got into my car, it stunk like cigarette smoke and sweat. I was provided a loaner car in the interim. The loaner/rental car agreement for a temporary substitute vehicle indicates, No smoking or a $250.00 fine will be charged. A copy of my credit card was obtained to ensure payment should I breach the no smoking policy. However, I am not being compensated to have my car deodorized. In summation, I am extremely saddened to be treated with such disrespect and callousness. I purchased a BMW because I need a reliable car. I also chose BMW because I suspected that I would receive the kind of customer service that would equate with the kind of product I purchased. I am extremely upset and dissatisfied about this issue. I feel very uncomfortable to use BMW for any of my automotive needs. However, I am still interested receiving a satisfactory remedy from BMW as previously requested.

Oh my God. From where I will start... Actually I bought 2004 318i car in 2014 and it was my biggest mistake I do in my life! Im from Jordan and I work in Oman... and I spend all my money to fix the car and still useless! I send the car to the dealer and they couldnt fix it and they suggest to replace all the gear box with no warranty for more than $5000!!! I complain to BMW headquarter and no use. I have all the mails and sms. I record for reference to show how customer care is bad and they will not consider you a customer unless you are rich.

2007 BMW M6 - The fastest lemon on earth: I bought a used 2007 BMW M6 with 20,500 miles in January 2012 from Dave Walter BMW of Akron, Ohio. I drove from Detroit to pick the car up. Upon driving home to stop for gas (This car averages 10 mpg of premium, for your information.), my father noticed the BMW emblem was gone on the front. Needless to say, driving off the lot without a BMW emblem they blew off was very irritating, to say the least. But the dealership was surprised and said they will mail me one to put on. (By that, I mean I had to have a dealership put another one on because I broke the tiny plastic trying to squeeze it on the holes on my first attempt.) Prior to me receiving the new emblem was day two where while driving, a warning light came on that said passenger restraint warning. Now, I was very pissed. And just as this had happened while driving, the screen just went blank and would not turn on for the navigation or iDrive system. Now, the dealer was confused and said, We will see if we can get a dealer closer to you to handle this. Well, after a few days, they called saying I will need to bring it back to them in Akron, Ohio. I am now really pissed. Its winter, so I just tell them when the weather breaks, Ill get it to them. About a month later, I have a friend in Toledo drive the car back to them which results in no M6 for 2 weeks. They fix it, I get my car back. One day, thats right one day, after I got it back, the light returned! Great Job repairing that! So, I now just tell them to send a transport to my house and pick this pig up. Im not adding more miles and gas money, because you didnt fix it the first time. They agreed.Another few weeks passed, and I got the car back. Wouldnt you know it, they left me with 1/10th of a tank, despite promising to have it cleaned and full (I had over half a tank before they took it.). So I think Ok, the worst is over, right? Wrong! While driving home in July, the car literally died while driving and a light stated increased battery discharge. And my screen died, and I could not change gears! I got home, and now, I am not even on speaking terms with the dealership as I have been so pissed about how they handle everything. I had to jump the car (New battery was installed when I bought the car.) and drive it around to try to recharge it. This worked temporarily, and the light cleared. 3 days after the power dying issue, lo and behold! The passenger restraint light is back to its usually warning position. I have now made up my mind to sell this car asap as I fear the worst. 6 days after this and one day after putting it up for sale, driving home from work, theres a warning engine malfunction (reduced power). Thats right, its now 500 horses. I honestly was scared. Oh, and I forgot the trunk wouldnt open. You had to use a key, and the center consoles locking mechanism made it where you couldnt open the center console. I have since traded this car in, but I want it to be known that this story is 100% true and actually longer and more depressing. But this was my shorthand version of this POS. Dave Walter BMW of Akron, Ohio. It should be shut down! They do not deserve any business, and I assure you they did nothing to try to help me out in any way. Do not ever buy a BMW. Dont even take one, if its given to you, because the repair costs will break your bank account!
Two weeks ago we had great pleasure in taking BMW Arden to the small claims
Two weeks ago we had great pleasure in taking BMW Arden to the small claims court. My daughters 18 month old BMW had a faulty wishbone arm. It should have been repaired under warranty but she had to pay the insurance excess of £395. We had a small win as BMW had to pay it back. I know it wasnt much but at the end of the day it was the principle. Here is how it began: BMW Series 1. On 17 September 2017 my daughter Sam stopped at traffic lights to turn right into the Esso garage. When the lights changed, she moved slowly away, at this point the wishbone arm snapped causing her to catch the car in front. A passing mechanic who has his own garage examined the car and said it had issues. The only marks on her car was a small dent and scratch as the photos show. We sent photos to an online mechanic, he said that slight knock would not have caused the wishbone arm to snap. Her insurance company transported the car to their garage in Ashford. A couple of days later BMW asked Sam if they could take it to BMW Arden to undergo repairs as it was still under warranty. When she collected her car a month later, she was shocked when she had to pay her insurance excess of £395.00, she’d been told it was being repaired under warranty. It is apparent that at no time Ageas the insurance company inspected the vehicle. A letter dated 6th March 2018 states “I have reviewed our Audatex report from Arden Maidstone repairers who have not advised in their comments on the engineers report that the drive shaft snapped due to wear and tear or due to being faulty. Had they seen the car then they would have known it was the wishbone arm and not the driveshaft. They also wouldn’t have had to ask BMW what caused it to snap!We wrote and complained to BMW Arden, BMW Customer Services and the Ombudsman. They all said the insurance company carried out the repair so you have to pay. Her authorized repair company in Ashford did not do the repair, BMW Arden did and then invoiced the insurance company for £4550,09. Our mechanic said the cost should have been no more than £500. A solicitor advised me the onus of responsibility lay with Arden BMW, she said the insurance company was just doing their job.On July 6th, 2018 I wrote a final letter to Gary ** the assistant service manager at BMW Arden, His last email said, “The possible cause of the broken wishbone arm was wear and tear.” At the time my daughter’s car was 18 months old with under 7000 on the clock, so how could it have been wear and tear? We believe it had a faulty wishbone arm from new or it was in an accident when it was delivered to Arden Maidstone.

BMW screwed me big times after returning my lease. I have received 10 weeks later a bill from BMW stating I owe them money but before my lease ran out 2 months before I went for inspection and did what they have told me to do but then I got the charge 10 weeks later when they have sold the car. $900 for 3 tires oil change $250 and etc... Just be careful when you lease a car from BMW unless you are stick around with that brand otherwise they will screw you over big times and also the dealer wont help you out after you turn it in... It is a shame.

Re: 2007X3. Many times since, approximately the vehicle had 60K miles, prior to my 100k miles warranty running out, even though I was experiencing problems with my transmission (i.e. not shifting properly, clunking when shifting, noise and jerking when shifting), the Service Dept. told me there was nothing wrong. Now that I have 120k miles on it and my X3 will not go into AWD, I am told by Erhard that my transmission differential needs a $1,400 repair. I have never missed maintenance and at the last maintenance, I was complaining about my transmission.I would like my transmission problem fixed at no cost to me. It seems BMW, blew me off to get me through until my warranty was up (extended to 100k that I paid for). Very disappointing and too costly for me. My wife and I both own BMWs and will be going to a different make vehicle because of the deceitful treatment I have received. Something should be done about BMWs lack of responsibility when it comes to taking care of warranty issues.

I have owned my 2013 BMW 535i for 7 years now and love the car! Great performance, looks and fuel efficiency. The water pump recently blew on it at 60K but I heard that is typically the ONLY thing that fails on this car. One major thing in 7 years... still love the car. Everything works flawlessly on the car and I often get comments from co-workers about how awesome the car looks. I drove it long distance from San Diego to Santa Cruz up the beautiful CA coast highway and had a blast zooming around all the curves. I hope to have this car for many more years to come.

BMW has made a nasty turn for the worse. I am a loyal customer over a decade and have purchased 6 BMWs for me and my family to enjoy over the years. I am on my 6th BMW which happened to be a CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED BMW. The last 5 were purchased New and after the CPO experience being described to me by a sales associate, I determined to purchase a CPO BMW instead of new. What a mistake! The car was visually perfect and mechanically appeared fine on the test drive before purchase, but there were a plethora of engine and transmission issues the week after purchase. With less than 30,000 miles, I had no idea what I was getting into with this plagued car, not to mention all the interior cracks and creaking and the deferred maintenance that no one paid any attention to on the vehicle.I asked BMW North America for compensation for my time spent, almost 20 hours of driving, waiting, telephone calls, troubleshooting, exchanging rental cars, paying for rental cars, etc. and after 3 weeks they called me back stating that they will not honor any compensation. Disgusting. This will be my last BMW, and I will be sure to share this experience with my circle of car enthusiasts.

BMW is claiming that a bird could strip paint from my 2014 X3, which I purchased just 3 months ago. This pre-certified car is awesome in every way, but I have owned 2 BMWs and 4 Volvos prior to this and have never had any damage to the finish from a bird. They are telling me that the damage is outside their warranties. I find it hard to believe they do not warrant their finishes. Stay away from this car; paint is fragile. If you have to be worried about bird **, you should look for something a lot less expensive. High end is not what finishes this car.

Hi my name is Kizy **. I am a newlywed and also have a baby on the way. My problem is I bought a BMW 2011 X6 that was under warranty when I purchased it for my wife in 2013. it had a 3 year warranty or 50,000 miles on the car. My problem started on August 18 2014 when the car overheated. I took it to the BMW store in Rochester, Michigan. I was told that the coolant to the turbo needed to be replaced which was fine and I picked up my car two weeks later. On September 2, 2014, I picked up my vehicle and drove it to Costco but as I was leaving Costco, I noticed that my car left a puddle of antifreeze underneath my car, so I ended up having my car towed to the dealer again. They then said they found two leaks in the car and the tank was leaking. They said they repaired the cap. My car was in the shop for over two weeks then I had to have it towed again and it stayed there for another five days!A couple days later, my low coolant light came on so I called the dealer and spoke with the service rep, **. He told me it could be a bubble in the system from when they flushed it out. They handed me a quart of coolant and told me to put it in my car and if the light goes back on, to give them a call because they were busy. So I added a quart of coolant and then a couple days later, my light went back on and because it was a Friday they could not get me in that day so they gave me two more quarts to add to my car. I did not think anything of it so I did as he instructed and added 1 quart more so light would turn off.I went to the movies with my wife and her eyes started itching and we both started to feel sick and nauseous. I was getting upset that my pregnant wife and my future baby were in danger for inhaling coolant! The next day, I called BMW North America and spoke to a lady named Betsy. She advised me to take my car back to the dealer that day and I did. I explained to BMW North America my concerns and how important it is for me to make sure my pregnant wife is safe and healthy!! I explained to everyone at the dealership all my concerns regarding my car and my familys health. On October 24, 2014, I brought my vehicle in for service because of the coolant scent in my vehicle and my car had been burning a quart of oil almost every week. BMW Rochester found that the coolant/antifreeze return lines to the turbo were leaking into the engine and the car was returned to me on November 03, 2014. On November 05, 2014, my wife and I were out and she noticed the scent and told me they did not fix my vehicle because she could still smell it and her eyes were burning again. Her senses and her smell were stronger than mine because she was pregnant. So I called BMW North America and the dealership to explain to them whats going on. I brought my car back into the dealership for this same issue now being the fifth time and I had service reps **, and the head mechanical get into my car so they could smell the coolant I have been trying to get them to fix and also told them how my car had been losing its oil. On November 06, 2014, I brought my car back into the dealership and the head service rep, **, told me coolant was coming in because the bottom pan wasnt treated properly and he was going to make sure that his top serviceman was going to treat it this time. At this time, I was angry and I felt that BMW wasnt taking my case seriously and using my pregnant wife and I as test dummies. They would fix the one problem but not all of them and if it didnt work, they would keep telling me to come back in. I just dont feel like the dealership or BMW cared about our health or safety and they used us as test dummies. On December 12, my reduced power came on and my low coolant came on. I called BMW of Rochester. They told me not to bring my vehicle back into the dealership and refused services and told me to go to Erhard of BMW at 4065 Maple Road Bloomfield Hills to fix my problem. I was really upset that I had to drive an hour and some time to go to the dealer to have my problem fixed! The service guy ** at Erhard told me on December 19, 2014, that there was a coolant leak again coming in my Vehicle from the bottom of my turbo line and the computer needed to be reprogrammed. He also said I needed the spark plugs and intake replaced. I still havent gotten my car back. My biggest concerns are my familys health and safety. Im also concerned of the internal damage and the value of my vehicle depreciating. Im at a loss for words with BMW and the dealership and dont understand why I kept getting the runaround and still do not have my vehicle correctly repaired! The distress this has caused my wife and I has been unnecessary!

This is a reply to Charles of Hobbs, NM: In regards to the gasoline smell, Charles, you need to replace your charcoal filter and make sure the rubber hoses are not cracked. Secondarily, when you fill up your car, stop pumping gas as soon as it clicks off. Dont fill it to the top; it overflows into your charcoal canister. You can find the part on bavauto.com or rockauto.com. Its very easy to replace.
Thanks BMW for turning my lifelong dream of owning a BMW into a NIGHTMARE e
Thanks BMW for turning my lifelong dream of owning a BMW into a NIGHTMARE experience. Heres why... Since the time I saw a BMW while I was growing up as a teenager I always wanted to own a BMW. I have patiently waited to own a 5 series when the time comes for me to afford one. And that time came over the Labor Day weekend. It was time for me to replace the 1998 Nissan that I was driving for 9 years to be finally replaced with my dream car, the BMW. I went to Patrick BMW dealership, with my wife and kids, in Schaumburg IL to purchase a certified pre-owned BMW that I had looked online. We test drove the car, loved it and finally sat down to close the deal. The whole process took us come around over 4 hours. During the contract finalization process (I had signed majority of the paperwork) the salesman came and told me that they could not give me the car as the car I just chose wont start and mentioned that I could not take the car today. They werent sure why it wont start.Well that was the big set back to my expectation of a BMW... A BMW machine with 22K miles on it (almost new) wont start. I never face this issue with any cheap cars and this is what I was hearing of a BMW a car with an original price tag of $60,000. I was really really disappointed and had to leave home. They told me that the dealership will investigate and call me what the issue is and provide an ETA on the fix date. They called the next day and told me that the fuel pump went bad and need to be replaced. Was not happy to hear that and started doubting whether BMW is still the BMW people say we love for the lifetime. My entire family was disappointed. I had driven a 1998 Nissan with 142K miles on it and it had never given me an issue and the BMW blew in 22K miles. Anyways I thought it is a machine and Ill give it a chance. The dealership called me 3 days later and mentioned the car is fixed and ready to be picked up. I was super excited and took off work to pick the dream machine. I had called my family to wait outside my house and see me drive my dream car home. I was just 30 yards away from my garage that the BMW stalled (dead). Really I could not believe and I see my family cheering at me (unaware) that the car had stalled and thought I stood there to let them see the car... EMBARRASSING AND FRUSTRATING... The car wont start and I get a big message in the console transmission failed. Really really. This is BMW.I called the dealership and the damn guy asked me to bring the car back to the dealership. Somehow... the car started and I brought it back. The salesman told me that it is a sleeper mode issue. WTF is that... He told me that you have to reverse the car and then everything will be fine. I could not believe still that this is ** BMW man. Somehow the car started working fine... and brought it back. Happy but frustrated whether I have got a LEMON...I take it to work, drove 15 miles... showed it to my friends and colleagues. I took few for a drive and what happens the car stalls (dead) again. EMBARRASSING THAT I WANT TO DIG MYSELF IN THE GROUND. I could not believe it and what a bad press for a BMW 2011 535i. I called the dealership and they asked me to get it towed. Towed not even a car that I had in my hands for more than an hour... seriously. I wanted to scream and punch someone.. I had to wait for the tow for 4 hours and finally the car was towed..You SEE WHAT YOU GUYS DID TO ME ... You just blew my confidence in luxury cars out of the window. I started hating it... rather than telling my family and friends that I had bought an awesome machine... I was ** about the car... seriously...I went to the dealership to ask for my money back and they mentioned theyll assure theyll fix the car. They told me this time it is a the fuel sensor... WTF. Really.. this is a damn certified car which I think is not certified from a Ford dealership (who know nothing about BMW). The certification is from damn BMW. I started to question about the whole certification process and the quality of BMWs . I so very much wanted to never ever own a BMW again and committed to make sure that ensure none of my friends and family or whoever I come in contact with... let them know to never ever own a BMW.My wife, she know I always wanted to own one... convinced me to give this car a chance... someone I agreed. Now the car is with the Patrick BMW dealership in Schaumburg IL. I called yesterday to ask the status and NOW the guy is telling me it is the POWER MODULE. Seriously ... these guys just told me it is the fuel sensor. WHO SHOULD I BELIEVE.... IM BEING CHEATED... having sleepless nights... BMW .. WHY ARE YOU GUYS DOING THIS TO ME?Before I start hitting Facebook, Twitter, and other forums to share my experience ... you guys better call me tell me what the hell is going on and you better do something about it. I work for Deloitte Consulting LLP, the biggest consulting firm, in the world. Im a consultant and my job is to keep my clients happy. We promote value, confidence and good relationships over money. Many of my colleagues own a BMW and that was giving me confidence... but if BMW does not work with me here... Im telling you Im going to go all over the place. Lets see what experience I get about customer service from BMW and that would tell me everything about BMW and Ill have full ammunition to do either a good or bad press... A frustrated BMW first time buyer...

When we spoke on December 9, 2011, about the poor experiences at the service department, I was hopeful that it would not repeat itself in the near future. Unfortunately, despite my best efforts, I must report to you of the poor service yet again experienced. Whether or not you or anyone else cares, I leave that up to your business decisions; however, from the consumers stand point, if asked about my experiences at Silver Spring BMW, I would have to inform then that purchasing the vehicle was great; however, the service department is the worse that I have seen in more than 34 years of driving. As anyone knows, any vehicle needs servicing over the life time, but think twice about purchasing a vehicle from Silver Spring BMW because the service department is just poor. People are polite and they have a smile on their faces but what is promised to the customer is not given to the customer.I will be happy to meet with you to inform you of my experience, but yet again, an appointment was set on December 9, 2011, for this day (December 20, 2011) at 7:30 am. And, despite several email reminders that my appointment was scheduled at 7:30am, and an assurance from Juan L/N/U that I could be taken at 7:30 am, and being the second vehicle waiting at the front doors to open, I had to wait because my advisor had another previously scheduled customer. I decided to leave in complete disgust with the overall operation and process. Whether or not you have a Good Ole Boy system in place, who knows. And of course, a business is welcomed to have a Good Ole Boy system in place; if that is your business model, thats your choice and customers should know.Nevertheless, when you believe that Silver Spring BMW is able to schedule an appointment at an appropriate time to have my windshield repairs, please advice. Of course, I am left to the mercy of Silver Spring BMW. Thanking you in advance for your time and attention to this matter. Have a Happy Holiday Season.

The financial employee did an excellent job going over all details. We only disagreed on one thing. I wanted to pay off quickly but she wanted me to carry it a while longer. I paid it off quickly. I have always had great service with this company.

I had a big disappointment with this company. I leased a BMW and when it was returned I was charged for the tires. I had the worst experience with their service. They charged me for new tires and I only had the car for 2 years and only run it for 15,000 miles. I have never had any problem with other car leases before and I have been leasing cars for over 10 years. I do not understand why BMW has these strict policies on place and other named (cars) brands not. I guess they lose another good client.

I purchased this 2008 pre-owned BMW in July and it is under the warranty. Only one month later, the engine light is on so I have to go for the maintenance. One month later, the right rear light is not working so i have to go to the dealer again. What really troubles me is that last weekend I am waiting for my friends in my car which only without the engine in 20-30 minutes, the battery is dead. When I called roadside assistance from BMW, this guy cannot even find where the battery is located and he tried to connect his equipment with something looks like battery besides the engine. When I pointed out to him that the battery may be located in the back, he used his equipment which is not fully charged to jumper my car. Of course, it did not work so he insisted that it is my battery problem and even told me to tow the car on the next Monday. And I called BMW again to ask for sending a professional roadside assistance to me, which should not be the previous one. They promised the new guy will come in two hours. It is already 10pm on Sat night. After two hours, it is close to 12am, the old guy called me again and said BMW send him again and he wont come anyway. I am so frustrated. I have to call my friend to pick me up and interestingly, my friend used his jumper and it worked. It should be much easier but BMW assistance just made things more and more complicated.

Purchased a 2015 BMW X5. Three weeks later it stalled on the highway. Dealership said it was a fuel pump issue would be two weeks. Vehicle has less than 600 miles on it. Problem must be across the fleet because there is zero balance in the US. This is unacceptable.

The car (2013 BMW 550i M pack) has been top 10 from day one, a little low on gas mileage but great power. This has been my 4th BMW and just about all of them have been nothing but excellent automobiles, that said, I wont be getting a 5th, Moritz BMW on Arlington TX was just outstanding on making the sales, very happy with the experiences but... the service department was nothing but condescending and arrogant folks. I try Autobahn in Fort Worth TX and they did a lot better but still, not at the level I was hoping for. The car outperformed just about anything I ever had except for minor details. Because of the 2013 M pack the car has 20 wheels and they seem to be great for highway high speed but on plain city streets you need to be very careful. I purchased a full coverage road hazard contract for the tires and wheels so, after some unfortunate road bumps, some tires had to be replaced. A great car and thats the true, power train, body, interior, electronics and the whole thing. Honestly I couldnt find a better tuned road beast for under the price I paid for it, around $73000.00. The only other car with enough quality worth of mentioning was a 2009 Mercedes-Benz E350 Sport Package, that was too a great car but, thats another story.

There are so many issues reported for this vehicle (BMW 745), they have become essentially worthless, so my issue is not with any particular problem as most have been stated already. My issue is that when is BMW going to be held accountable for not doing their own issued TSBs when the vehicle was in for service and still under warranty. Okay so now I will state a particular problem (like we need another). COLD CLIMATE CONDITIONS TSB S.I. B11 01 07 October 2007. In a nutshell it states that in cold weather conditions, the crank case ventilation valve may freeze causing a leaking oil filler cap, leaking or broken valve covers to complete engine failure. What does BMW mean by extremely cold climate conditions, by reviewing forums etc. where the problems have been reported. This extreme cold area appears to be anywhere that it might snow! Being located in central Alberta, Canada is now apparently the equivalent to being in the arctic circle, then again so it would appear for locations as far south as Michigan. One must wonder where the BMW engineers developed the car, my guess Germany, but alas it would appear that Germany must have been unseasonably warm during the testing of this engine. How this is not a mandated recall is beyond my comprehension. But wait it gets even worse! So the valve gaskets start to leak in fall of 2013, I take it in for the repair and the work is performed, but leak persists, then it is discovered that the BMW dealer here in Edmonton supplied, standard valve cover gaskets, not the gaskets referred to in the TSB issued in 2007. Being Edmonton, why would they even supply any gaskets, that were not cold weather approved. Its just not an issue with the 7 series as it also exists in the 6 and 5 series. When it comes to the X5 AWD, where does BMW think their North American customer base is... California? I am the original owner and the car has all off 114,000 Kilometers on it. Does BMW make a good car... no, do they care... no, would I ever buy another ....no. Would I recommend anyone buy one... no. Hopefully this complaint will be read by people doing research prior to purchase and they can avoid the incredible frustration of being a BMW owner.
