6 Times American Automakers Outdid The Europeans
[BACK]

Posted On: August 24, 2022
If you've spent any time amongst European car enthusiasts, you will have heard somebody at some point claim, "American cars can't go around corners." That was true once upon a time when most American cars came out of Detroit - an area not famous for having twisting roads. America is also a vast country connected by freeways and long, wide, open roads, so comfort was often given precedence over handling. However, since cars appeared, America has loved to race them. World War II introduced American soldiers to sports cars designed for small and twisting European roads. As anyone who's traveled across the states will know, America is not all long and straight pieces of pavement. As the years have gone by, American automakers have stepped up to the plate, and on more than one occasion, we've delivered some solid sucker punches to the rest of the world - whether it's in a straight line or around corners. The vehicles below showcase six times America took the bragging rights against European counterparts, and this doesn't even consider cars that could be considered modified like the Hennessey Venom GT Spyder. 1. Duesenberg Model JrnRolls-Royce is the name that springs to mind regarding ultra-luxurious automobiles. But, at the beginning of the 20th century, Duesenberg took notes and built cars that could go toe-to-toe with Rolls-Royce and, on occasion, better them. One example is the Model J. It's an example of exquisite style and craftsmanship and was aimed at the New York stock market, then the Hollywood elite of the 1930s, and owned most notably by Gary Cooper and Clark Gable. They had a special SS version that reportably made around 400 hp from the Model J's race-based engine. The Model J was the most technologically advanced, fastest, and stylistically beautiful car that money could buy at the time. There's a good argument that the Model J is America's greatest car to date. rnThe standard engine made 265 horsepower, the most powerful in a road car at the time and based on the company's racing engines of the 1920s. In 1921, a Duesenberg won the first French Grand Prix. Sadly, the Great Depression led to Duesenberg disappearing for good. 2. 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt SSrnWhen it comes to compact sports cars, Europe does it better. That's just the way it is. However, there was a brief time when Chevrolet had a compact sports car that could do a full lap of the Nurburgring in 8:22.85. That was just 0.9 seconds slower than the E46-generation BMW M3. The 2008 Cobalt SS took the Nurburgring lap record for front-wheel-drive sport-compact cars in the year 2007 by 13 seconds. At a time when cars like the Mk5 Golf GTI and Honda Civic Type R existed, that was no mean feat. It only held onto that for a few months before Renault claimed the title with a hatch that bordered on being a race car, but at the time, it was a revelation. Replacing the supercharged powertrain of the first iteration, the turbocharged 2.0-liter Chevrolet Cobalt SS made 260 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque and was capable of a 0-60 mph dash of 5.5 seconds. Unfortunately, the interior wasn't great, but no one really cared about that when the compact could handle this well. 3. Cadillac ATS-VrnSpeaking of the BMW M3... America did it better with the Cadillac ATS-V. For the longest time, Cadillac had the bit between its teeth to out-BMW BMW. Finally, in 2016 the Cadillac ATS-V went into production with its twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter V6 engine and heavily tuned suspension and brakes. It out accelerated the M3, out-performed it in corners, and cost less. For some extra bragging rights, the ATS-V.R GT3 race car won the Pirelli World Challenge in 2015. The ATS-V's standard 464 hp and 440 lb-ft of torque even outgunned the M3's 444 hp and 406 lb-ft with the $5,500 Competition Package. Subjectively, the ATS-V's steering felt better as BMW dropped the ball with that generation M3. Objectively, the ATS-V turned in quicker, and Cadillac's Magnetic Ride Control had a broader scope for adjustment, resulting in it being more compliant than BMW's Adaptive M Suspension for regular driving and firmer for back roads or the track. In short, Cadillac built a better car... until you got to the interior. 4. Dodge Durango Hellcatrn"Introducing the Aston Martin DBX707: The world's most powerful luxury SUV" are the words proudly printed on Aston Martin's website. However, if you're spending $239,000 on a luxury SUV boasting its power (697 hp), wouldn't you want it to outgun a Dodge Durango (710 hp)? Yes, yes, you would. Sure, the DBX707 will get to 60 mph 0.4 seconds quicker, but the Durango will claim the quarter mile faster, and it only cost $80,995 when it first came out. Indeed, the DBX707 is more comfortable, looks better on the road, and can hit corners like a sports car - cue the "Americans can't go around corners" trope - but "The world's most powerful luxury SUV" needs that "luxury" qualifier because the Durango Hellcat exists. And if you missed out on the limited production run the first time around, it's been brought back for 2023. This isn't a comparison between these two SUVs, by the way, but there's only one "world's most powerful combustion SUV," and it ain't European. 5. Chevrolet CorvetternIt's almost comical how good the Corvette is, and without the qualifier of price. Yes, $64,200 for a mid-engined, V8-powered sports car is crazy value for money even if it didn't keep quite keep pace on the straights with much costlier McLaren 570S ($191,100) and Acura NSX ($169,500), because it will out-grip them on a figure-eight course. The Audi R8 V10is faster to 60 mph, but good luck shaking a C8 Corvette Stingray Z51 ($71,940) from your tail at the track. It will also hang with a Porsche 718 Cayman GTS 4.0 ($88,150), which is no mean feat. Yes, every other car mentioned here is prettier, but we're talking about hanging with the big boys on a back road or track, and the Corvette Z06 and ZR1 haven't even hit the road yet. When they do, expect them to comprehensively dominate more exotic supercars, both on price and on track. It may not have the prestige or the interior quality, but hey, there was a time not so long ago when Ferraris shared infotainment with the Fiat 500... 6. Tesla Model SrnIf we were to go back further in time for this list, we would get to the Ford Model T, which changed the face of automotive history. However, we're not, so we'll talk about the Tesla Model S and how a couple of Americans called Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning started a company that aimed to build "a car manufacturer that is also a technology company" and make the "the battery, the computer software, and the proprietary motor" its core technology. They did just that with the help of investors and a visionary CEO buying into the company. When the Model S arrived, it was a luxury sedan and became the best-selling plug-in electric car worldwide in 2015 and 2016. The Model S led to a massive change in direction for the automotive industry, and without it, the electric revolution might still be decades away. Everyone, including the European majors, is still chasing Tesla's electric car sales and very few of them can compete with its performance.

Unfortunately the 2011 excellent DTS Cadillac we owned was in a head on with a loose horse and my husband was killed and me suffering injuries for 3 years. Needless to say that Cadillac was totaled. It was my mother’s day gift from my love. To top that in 2 months I lost my only grand daughter and her 3 year old girl in a horrific wreck roll over auto accident where they drowned in the bayou of Louisiana. It was so devastating to where all I wanted to do was die. Then 2 weeks later lost 3 very long time best friends in weird tragic ways.Rented a car for 3 months then found this incredible awesome 2013 Cadillac XTS 4. Only 6,000 miles from previous owner. I was happy to say the sales rep got me through to the purchase and it was my Miracle Car. I have loved it with all my heart and had more compliments than ever on an auto from young kids to people so old they could hardly walk with their canes or walkers. It is an absolute beauty.BUT now... along with so, so many I found online with exact same problem, most threatening, suggesting or planning to file a class action suit, I too am so distraught because the CUE SYSTEM is OUT! It began (like most others) at the bottom level, then in short time, maybe 2 weeks, the entire system went out. NO navigation, no radio, no Sirius XM, which Ive paid a year in advance for. No car phone, no emergency contact info. The car was purchased as a luxury with all of this in it, but now it is NOT working! I suggested to the big online group to let’s ask Cadillac to do a RECALL since so many have or will have this same problem, trying to talk them out of a class action suit.I do NOT want to make a bad name for Cadillac as I LOVE the dealership, the SERVICE representatives and mechanics and the dept. Their services are the BEST ever! The salesman who sold it to me was the BEST ever. Im 77 so Ive purchased a lot of cars and dealt with a lot of salesmen! Will you PLEASE, PLEASE help me to get this CUE Infotainment Center replaced? I was told by dealership it would be a minimum of $1,200 and others were told up to $1,900.We are appalled that our warranties and extended warranties do not cover replacement and there is no fix for it. Warranties state that the only classification is RADIO and radio is not covered. Thanks for your help. Hopefully to assist me in pulling out of this deep depression and downhill slide with this all now happening on top of everything else. This system is really the only companionship I had when traveling alone.

Consumer alert: If you buy a new Cadillac there will be some GM locations that will not work on Warranty items. I was told today by Cadillac, the hopes of going full electric by 2025 and because of this, some GM dealerships are not required to work on Cadillacs if it is covered by warranty. I was not told this before buying and actually was told that any GM dealership would accept the Cadillac. The nearest Cadillac dealership is over 40 miles one way.

2003 Cadillac DeVille - Where would I begin. 1,600$ on windows. New transmission, water pump, main computer, rack and pinion replacement, buttons for controls (paint wearing off). GM, you should be ashamed of yourselves.

I purchased a 2012 Cadillac SRX with navigation package in February 2012. Upon first use, the navigation system placed me about 1/3 mile away from destination. I contacted the Cadillac dealer and they verified the problem. The dealer ordered a new navigation disk but the same errors occurred. The dealer tested the navigation system on other SRXs on the lot and all had the same problem. The dealer contacted the Cadillac representative who said that nothing would be done until the 2014 model year. I noted that the navigation system instructs the driver to make wrong turns which could result in a fatality if the driver was to enter the wrong way on a one-way street. Cadillac would not correct the problem! The Cadillac rep said that Cadillac plans no correction. If I learn of a fatality, I can document everything stated above.

Cadillac had many models to chose from with a good selection and all with a variety of different things they had in them and all with good ratings. The features are amazing. I love every aspect and every aspect was top notch. Nothing about it at all was bad. Im also very happy with the passenger capacity and fit my entire family and made our trips easy with all the storage room space. It fit everything and packed everything perfectly. The upgrade was so personalized too. Me and my family and friends who drove it love every minute of how it handled. All the extra upgrades were definitely worth it.

I purchased a new 2013 Cadillac CTS Coupe in July 2013. A week after purchasing the car, I noticed a popping sound when I put the car in reverse and turned the wheels. The dealership determined that the rear differential must be replaced. They replaced rear differential and 2 month later, the right rear differential seals were leaking fluid. Car returned to dealer for this repair. I have since contacted an attorney to pursue a buyback from Cadillac under the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act. The right side weather stripping/molding had to be replaced as it would not seal completely and water would enter my vehicle when it rains or when at the car wash. Cadillac says this does not qualify as a defect therefore they are only willing to grant a minimal goodwill cash offer. Cadillac/General Motors is pathetic.

On June 11th, I visited the Cadillac dealership and informed the repair rep. Marissa the issues I was having with my vehicle. These included my speedometer, my fog lights, and lastly my radio. When I picked up my vehicle after spending $1,100 ($400 in labor alone), it still was not functioning properly. I promptly informed Marissa that my speedometer was not working and she said to return, which I did. She left me with the impression there was no extra charge since it was not correctly repaired originally. How was this missed since it was placed on diagnostics? Nevertheless, I was charged an extra $100 in labor, inconvenienced and dissatisfied with the outcome and decided to meet with service manager, Mr. **, for a better result in regards to the labor. The only thing he could provide me was a provision for the future but nothing for now. He even informed me that the speedometer was a recall issue that I never received and he could not or would not rectify this either. I am a long time customer of this dealership and am insulted by the way I was treated.

Never owned a Cadillac before but it being a big name decided to give it a try. What a mistake. 2010 srx before I got home with it cost 3795.00 for headlight and installed. Sway bar bushings went. Last week a squeal and vibration came in it. A seized universal which you cant buy have to but the complete drive shaft, 1300.00. So put it in the dealers to get it fixed. They couldnt get the drive shaft out of the transfer case seized in and cant buy parts. Had to get a whole new transfer case that there was nothing wrong with in the first place 1795.00. So they agreed to go 50/50 but still cost me 1995.00. What a rip off. Disgusted with GM.

Love my car but hate the radio or cue system. From the first year we bought this car the screen on the radio would freeze up. But after a day or so it would be ok again. Not sure why it would work again but happy it was working. Then this past month it froze up and we have tried everything to fix it. Just called the local Cadillac dealer and they said it is common but my warranty is out and it could cost anywhere between 1500.00-2200.00, yikes!!! There should be a recall on this radio system because I have read many reviews this past month while trying to figure out why mine wasnt working.

The GPS quit working. I thought it was a scratched disk or something simple because the radio and CD player works fine. I went to the Lexington dealer and they told me I would have to replace the whole unit at a price of $4700 plus installation. I bought the Platinum Escalade in 2009 for over $70000 with just 60000 miles. Im upset.

I bought a 2016 Cadillac CTS in JULY 2018 at CADILLAC OF GREENWICH. THIS WAS CAUGHT ON VIDEO (DASH CAM, WITNESSES) was driving with my wife and my brother in a very TOURISTIC part of NYC (59th st and 5th Avenue). The car started emitting smoke and the hood went in complete flames. Thank god we came out of the car on time and the FIRE DEPARTMENT broke the hood and put out the fire. We were told that the damage even got to the gas line since gas was leaking and the brakes also stopped working. If the fire wouldn’t have been put out in 2-3 minutes we would’ve all exploded and many tourists (innocent bystanders) would have died. Mechanics are saying that the cause was because of FAULTY manufacturing inside of the hood. The Cadillac dealership washed their hands and don’t want to accept responsibility. NOBODY WANTS TO TOUCH THE CAR and I don’t have comprehensive insurance so they are useless. My car is considered total loss even though it wasn’t my fault, I was sold a faulty car. Cadillac of Greenwich promised to honor my warranty till 100,000 miles and it was “luxury” which was a lie, I have it all on text messages. The guy RAJ pressured me into trading my old ATS and telling me the New car was luxury and it wasn’t. I confronted him after I found out (a week of having the car) and all he said “oh sorry I thought it was luxury.” Since first day of driving off the lot, I’ve been having issues with the car, I went MORE than 5 times back to the dealership to fix many issues especially something with engine and transmission because the car was jerking. They “tried” to fix it but said that there’s nothing they could do.They were pressuring me so much to buy the car because it seems like they wanted to get rid of it. I called Cadillac customer service and they are just delaying everything. I’m hiring a lawyer and to sue them. I suffered loss and I almost died!!!! I have proof please contact me for more info. I have messages, Pictures, Videos, Witnesses. DONT EVER BUY FROM CADILLAC.

I have a 2013 ATS with 85k miles. 2.0 L turbo engine blew. Worked with Cadillac customer cares for three weeks to try to get something covered. Assigned an advisor “Shaneva”. I called several times over a three week period, escalating to a supervisor twice without so much as a return call. Finally after 3.5 weeks Saneva called me back to tell me I have to pay 3.2k for a replacement engine. This is a premium vehicle only 5 years driven and barely paid off that needs a new engine and the company will not cover. Poor customer service (no return calls sent to voicemail multiple times, escalated to supervisor 3 times without return call); shoddy product (multiple TSBs on blown 2.0 L engines, known defect); even though a known defect they still don’t stand behind their product. I was once an engineer for GM, both parents retired from GM, and I have purchased or leased a dozen GM vehicles but this ATS is the last. I will now be paying the 3.1k, drive it a while and go look at Mercedes and BMW.

I had a 2013 Cadillac ATS which I absolutely loved at the beginning. I recently had an issue with my car that had to get towed to a GM dealership where it sat for nearly 3 weeks because they couldnt figure out how to program it. Then I had to get it towed to another GM dealership where it cost me over $1,000 just for the tow. I reached out to Cadillac about this and after 2 weeks they said they can give me a $300 gift card. This Gift Card is only available to a certified GM dealer. WHY the HELL would I buy another vehicle from you when your own technicans cannot program a simple FOB, let along poor client appreciation. Cadillac may used to be Luxury and Client appreciation but not anymore. I would highly recommend another dealer who if there are any issues they will be there to help not push you aside.

They make several different cars from the Escalade and the CT6, CTS which are some of the best cars ever built in America and are very trustworthy. They are one of a kind cars that no one else could match in craftsmanship. They are strong and reliable cars with a sleek design and heritage that is very well beyond any other brands. Their upgrades are great to a already great car brand. Using them just makes the brand even better than any other models on the market. And most of their cars can hold 5 passengers safely.

Cadillac offer many models to choose from, which are Seville, Deville, Allante. The Deville has been my choice because of its traditional styling and clean lines. It also performs amazingly well. The appearance of my Cadillac is just breathtaking, I get looks of approval from people everywhere. It has a beautiful finish that has held up well even under the worst weather conditions. The upgrade options are electric windows and individual front electric seats where both riders can adjust their desired seat positions. My Cadillac also has the deepest plush carpet which is very comfortable. Also, my Cadillac Deville has a large passenger capacity where 6 people can be very comfortable riding in it. The all leather seats are so soft. A babys butt couldnt be any softer than they. Overall, my car is a joy to own.

There once was a time when Hyundais and Kias were the cars that would have folks stranded and broke from repair costs. Now do the research and see where Cadillacs/GMCs stand among consumers relative to them! Although I have exceeded 100,000 miles, I had no idea that a Cadillac product could ever be so very substandard in quality, craftsmanship, and durability. I paid a lot of money, and I only average about 15,000 miles per year. There are 8 major issues: 1. Failing paint on my hood. Its bubbling, and I did some research to discover that this problem is widespread, and is a well-known defect in the paint on the SRX. Every month, this bubbling gets a little wider and more unsightly.2. Drivers side headlight suddenly went out. I didnt realize it until I was stopped by the police near my neighborhood and given a ticket and repair order, which needed to be fulfilled in 30 days or my vehicles registration would be suspended. Unfortunately, unbelievably, and outrageously, I discovered from a Cadillac technician that I could not simply replace the burned-out bulb; that the real issue-- also a widespread issue among SRX models-- is that the seal around the entire headlight assembly had failed, thereby allowing moisture and condensation to seep through to cause the damage, and that it would cost $1,400 to fix.3. Catalytic converter has triggered the engine light, and when I had it checked, the Cadillac technician told me it was failing and could go out any moment, and that it would cost $1,800. Now I have been driving for 25 years and have owned 5 cars, and I have NEVER had a catalytic converter fail, and not in my wildest dreams had I ever thought it would happen under 120,000 miles.4. Passengers side headlight is now going in and out, perhaps for the same reasons of faulty SRX design that I experienced with the drivers side headlight barely a year ago. I see the same condensation and moisture building within the headlamp assembly as before. Once again, I will be expected to replace the entire assembly due to a manufacturers failure with the seal around the assembly, $1,400 again.5. When it rains, there is water from the storm finding its way into my cabin. A lot of water leaks onto the drivers side from under the dashboard and onto my shoes. This is also happening to the passengers side, and I have to place large bath towels on the left and right sides of my floors to catch the water-- when I expect rain. When I dont realize it will rain, water leaks in and drenches my floors, contributing to a mold and mildew issue.6. One day I tried to turn on my SRX radio, only to discover the sound system was mute. I did all I could to adjust the volume in my configuration settings, because I could not do OnStar, cannot place nor receive Bluetooth phone calls, cannot listen to AM/FM/XM or CDs, cannot hear my signals, cannot hear my door tones, cannot hear my navigation turn guides, and I cannot hear my rear camera indication warning tones. This is very frustrating and unnerving, because I have discovered that the SRX amplifier has failed, which prevents possibly life-sustaining and critical safety features!7. As I drive along with no sound, one headlight working, water leaking in on my designer shoes, mold and mildew building in my car, defective paint on my hood, and an engine that could stop working at anytime due to a shoddy catalytic converter-- the most frustrating recent development is that my engine is loud as heck. I am driving a Cadillac SRX4 but I sound like I am driving a lawnmower. It is an embarrassment as people, colleges, clients, and neighbors stare-- even deer-- while I am at stoplights, parking lots, and in my own driveway. The Cadillac dealer said this is most likely an exhaust system concern now!8. My trunk door sinks down after I open it but I dont close it. I have been caught in the trunk with the door pressing upon my back. Please do not be deceived by the sexy design of the Cadillacs. A failing commitment to quality and reliability will leave you frustrated. I understand cars need maintenance but these issues are beyond routine repair.

The newest Cadillac ATS is very sporty and classy. I love the headlamps and shape much better and it feels and looks amazing. Security safety and technology included the very latest developments plus it has a great interior and maximum comfort on luxury with high quality materials and premium appearance. The passenger capacity in this vehicle was perfect for me and my family. There were also many different personalized options that were explained thoroughly to me. They were respectful and professional so I will recommend this company.

Bought a Cadillac XT5 in December. Been in the shop 4 times for the same problem. According to the dealer theres no fix available till sometime in May. The vehicle falls under the Missouri lemon law. Dealership trying its best to help us. District manager/gm being difficult to deal with. Called owner assistance. Now we wait. Worst car we ever bought. Wife afraid to drive it. Please note this is the 3rd caddy we have owned and our last one ever...

Cadillac is above the rest of the field when it comes to luxury... I would repeat buy a Cadillac every time so you should too. Good mpg. They have push button start and leather winter packages and all wheel drive depending on where you live so it easy to get around in crap conditions. They offer a variety of different types of vehicles that cater to your needs from 2 kids and above plus DVD for kids. Cant beat it thats for sure. Also, all kinds of different types of vehicles to choose from whether you need room big trunks or class. They have it all. Just see a dealer to fit your needs.

Cadillac puts out a great product that Ive driven for years with no problems. Very comfortable, dependable, and feels like youre sitting in your living room when youre cruising down the road. I have a upper echelon feeling like youre above the rest, that they represent quality in America. They have so many models like the Escalade sporty models two-door and then theres the sedan. My car is an older model and has long front in. Always a button to push to make driving easier and everything is at your fingertips in the trunk, the gas door, the windows, all the lights, comfort control, no hands to telephones. Theres lots of legroom no matter what model you get. Really have to be one of the top line cars.

I purchased a 2006 Cadillac CTS in May 2010. Since the purchase, I have had several car repairs resulting in thousands of dollars. I make sure that I receive regular oil changes and follow recommendations for Mobil 1 oil only. I have to purchase approximately 6 to 8 quarts of the oil to add to my engine between oil changes. I had my mechanic assess the vehicle and there are no leaks. The car simply drinks oil. This is quite an expense since an oil change is approximately $100 and a quart of Mobil 1 oil is $10 a quart. This is simply unacceptable. I have read many complaints where people have lost their engines over oil consumption. Its simply not fair to the consumer to have to bear this expense for a product that is supposed to be trusted. In addition to this, I am putting brakes on my vehicle (front and back) twice a year. This is unheard of. There needs to be some accountability and responsibility for the makers of this vehicle.

I have owned Cadillacs my whole life, used to be a good car back in the day, Now I think they are made in China. In my yard I have now a 2001 DTS, a 2006 DTS, a 2008 DTS and my latest a 2013 SRX4. I bought this car at TnT moros in Lumberton NC with 77k miles, bought it on a Saturday in Feb and on Monday the cue went out. Since then it has started to spiderweb so you cannot even read it. I have been a loyal Cadillac owner for over 50 years but I am done now. I will start looking for an Acura. Anyone interested in my Cadillac collection, let me know. I will sell them all very cheap.

Cadillac offers about 8 models, 2 crossovers and sedans. The car is easily recognized and you wont get it confused with other models. It has plenty of standard features and offers a lot of options such as all wheel drive and front wheel drive, special wheels, GPS, heated and cooled seats, accident avoidance and lane alert. Radio is very good and OnStar is great. Front seats have plenty of room but back seat is limited. Cargo space is good but rear seats fold and that you definitely have plenty of room. However, clearance for snow is poor and has a bad transmission. Would not recommend and Cadillac customer hotline is awful. They never respond and dont care.

On our way back from Austin, 11:45 pm, 10 miles from Dallas down town, the left rear tire of my 2017 Escalade literally ripped. I had my family including my 7 months old in the car. I called OnStar who connected me to roadside assistance. I placed the service request for tire change. Usually I probably could have managed tire change myself but my left wrist was splinted sec to strain. Even though changing a tire of Escalade is no joke. Anyways I was told help will be there in 1 hr 15 mins. We patiently waited. After 1:30 hr I called the company that was contracted to be out here. And was placed on hold for 25 mins. I called them back and the same woman answered but claimed she is not the same woman and she just came on shift. Placed me on hold again. While I am on hold I am trying to call my provider the great Cadillac road side assistance from my wifes phone. And they have deceived to not answer the phone at all. Finally this woman come back on line and tell me because of my location thy are having trouble finding someone to come to me. This is after 2 hr and 15 mins. With infant in car. I hung up on her face as now she wanted to fill in the blanks on the form that were left unrolled. Like by the way do you know what the size of your tire? Are you fricking kidding me? We tried calling OnStar again and they said we can stay online with you if you feel unsafe but not sure where service provider is. 4:30 am. I decided to attempt to change the tire myself. With splinted wrist and help with my wife I could make to change it in 2 hrs. We got home around 6 am.This was the worst customer experience I have had, ever. Best part at 4:45-5:00. When I am done changing I am getting calls from roadside assistance to check on me and possibly send me another towing company to help with tire change. Seriously? You are checking on me 6 hrs after I placed request. Terrible service. Extremely disappointed. I have BMW and Range Rover. And their roadside is unbelievably amazing. This is so disappointing for buying 100k car.

I liked how many models there was for me and my wife. We decided for the midsize LS. It has a shiny black exterior paint and grey interior, with a nice navigational system. I also had hundreds of choices to make as far as the extras. I had a hard time choosing but I settled for the chrome rims, tinted windows, and the sunroof. The car can seat up to 5 people, enough room for me and my family.
We purchased a 2014 Cadillac SRX and have been very delighted with its ride
We purchased a 2014 Cadillac SRX and have been very delighted with its ride, performance and overall comfort. One year after we purchased it our rear power liftgate stopped working. I looked online for an answer to this issue and was very disappointed to see that the issue is an ongoing problem with MY 2010-2015 SRXs. I also discovered this issue is far more serious. Apparently there are drain tubes along the top on both sides inside the car. These tubes clog and cause water to instead run off back into the car soaking the front carpets, rear carpets and more importantly the control module for the rear power hatch which is located in the spare tire compartment. It was easy enough to open the rear hatch manually and also get to the module I understand, I can replace this, however the most disappointing issue overall is that Cadillac is aware of this issue from numerous complaints previously but refuses to step up and both recall and repair this issue. No wonder Cadillac has an overall satisfaction rating of 2 Stars. I would be very interested in joining a class action lawsuit with other SRX owners to force GM to fix this and cover all costs. It could be like the strut issue they are being sued for and someone may have to die before they decide to spend the money to do so! A month ago the tailgate started coming down on my girlfriend who was reaching in the back for something. Had she not noticed and got out of the path of the door this could have turned out a much worse story. I now realize this was the beginning of the circuit board deterioration as it quit just a month or so later. This issue obviously also hurts any resale value we had which was also an important part of our decision in purchasing the SRX. Anyone reading this that may have any info on a possible lawsuit please feel free to advise us so we may jump in. I am beginning to understand why American products are losing to our foreign competition. GM, the right thing to do is to step up for the Americans that you are supposed to represent and that put you on the map to start with, so admit this default, recall and repair this issue for us all at your expense and let us get on with our lives. Otherwise, I will never purchase another GM product again!

I have had the brakes worked on 3 different times in less then 2 years. The dealer has worked hard but brakes still make noise. The seats are so uncomfortable. Because of it I would never buy another Cadillac SRX or any other if the seats are the same.

Had a 2004 Cadillac XLR Drop Top. Absolutely the best car from General Motors in ADDITION to the 2000 Corvette Convertible I owned with 75,000 miles on it AND NEVER WENT TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT FOR ANY PROBLEM, which I traded in for The Cadillac XLR also with 75,000 on it. And it also never went to the service department for any problem. The Cadillac WAS produced at the Corvette Factory in Bowling Green Kentucky.

No Spare Tire! Sorry I bought this SRX. I bought a Cadillac SRX brand new From Massey Cadillac North in Orlando. After all the paperwork I was handed the keys and the salesman and I went over the car. I asked, Where was the spare tire stored? The salesman said, It did NOT have a spare tire just a small compressor with adhesive for a flat tire. Caught up in the excitement I left but called the next day. I asked the price of a spare tire and was told $800.00. I asked why so much, the dealer spokesman said, Because we have to make the hole bigger in the rear storage compartment.I just bought a spare tire kit last week online from a Cadi dealer and paid $600.00. There was a tire, rim, jack, and jack handle everything else was FOAM painted black. What a rip-off. I have been buying Cadillacs all my adult life. I am very unhappy with what GM has done to consumers to lessen the weight to meet standards and at the same time reduce costs and the hell with the consumer. I think the dealer should have done better by me. I am done with buying Cadillacs. I will keep my SRX until... Thank you.

Cadillac DHS 2003 - Just read a comment by an owner of a 2003 Cadillac and I wanted to respond with What are you doing with my car? I have had to replace the transmission, rack & pinion, numerous window regulators, A/C compressor etc and now the intake manifold gasket. One would think that after building cars for a hundred years, and the humiliation of putting (the once revered) Cadillac name on the Cimarron, that taking some pride in engineering components shouldnt be asking too much.

Cadillac looks very luxurious and delightful. I enjoy the comfort it gives and the technology the most. Its very beautiful and simple yet evolutionary. I love the sleekness each model gives. It is so much different than others. Such as one is made for families while others may be made for romance or business. I do not often contain passengers in my car but when I do my guests seems to love it. My model may only carry 5 passengers but overall its great. The GPS is great and it gives such accurate information. I never get lost anymore. The speakers are crisp and clear and the airbags are regularly checked. I love how regular checks are free and so are the repairs.

Theyre very good and they have great offers and standard options. Their cars have only had a great look which only got better with time and such comfortable seating and beautiful interior with a great-looking dashboard. The car also comes with many great upgradable options like real leather interior as well as different add on options that make the car more functional like a whisper quiet. Also, it is plenty big to fit at least 7 passengers and more so theres room to store all your crap with plenty of space that you want to look at your other passengers.

I purchased a brand new Caddilac ATS in Sept 2014. In only 13months now, its been back to the dealer 7 times for vehicle problems. 3 times were recalls of which there was a recall on the recall!! Since Sept 2015 there has been a HORRIBLE EXTREME ODOR coming from the heating/air system. Called GM several times, after 5 calls Im still waiting for a callback to resolve this problem of a HORRIBLE smell thats making me sick!!! At this point, Im going to hire an attorney!!! GM NEEDS TO BUY THIS CAR BACK!!!

What they had then and what they have now are different. A Cadillac no matter what model is a prime car at that time and very dependable. You cant go wrong with one. This was my 1st car in 1962. It had a sleek body style with sort of mud flaps called wings which clipped on the back tires. It had everything the cadillac had to offer. Radio, heat, air which was about it back then. The car had both a front and a back full bench seat that would ride 6 to 8, very comfortable and has plenty of leg room.

We own a Cadillac CTS and had it in the shop to have a Throttle Body (part no. 9128412), Connector (part no. 15306420) and Seal (part no. 90412566) replaced. We paid $1,425.82 on 31MAR2011 to GREEN BUICK GMC (who we stopped going to because of other misdealings, i.e., they attempted to cheat us on the cost of replacing the trunk struts (They wanted $400 when the parts INSTALLED only cost us $77 at a competitor). NOW this Cadillac CTS is LuJacks of Davenport Iowa and their $130/hr diagnosis machine indicates that the THROTTLE BODY etc needs to be replaced, AGAIN!???I called GM and they refused to let me speak with Mary Barra, CEO or her executive offices. I spoke with a number of do nothings and unfortunates there. They assigned THREE (3) different case/file numbers (** then **, then again today: **). They keep putting this off. I want them to pick up the bill, pay for the repairs, etc. I should NOT have to be put through the inconvenience of being without my car for another two weeks for the exact SAME problem I already paid for three years ago. This is INFERIOR QUALITY products, aka PLANNED OBSOLESCENCE aka Quality Control aka Marketing aka Criminal Conduct aka Business As Usual at GM. This is WRONG to do people this way. They need to be held accountable. Call 855-880-1500 and let them know.

I bought my 2013 SRX in 2014 and it had 12000 miles on it. The transmission shifts so hard, GM says this is normal. I dont think so. They had a recall on it, but I cant tell a difference. My cue screen quit working at 61k miles. Just over factory warranty. Dealership told me it would be at least 1200.00 to fix it, I opted to go without. Fast forward 6 months. My front left tire will not hold air, its a brand new tire. Come to find out, my rim has corroded and will not seal to the tire. Eventually, this happened with all 4 tires. Meanwhile, my cue screen has started cracking on the inside. I dont even use the cue module because it doesnt work. Dealership said it cracked because of the heat. I end up with a flat tire at end of my driveway, I go to change it, no spare, no donut. Just a can of fix a flat type stuff. I call dealership, they tell me to call roadside assistance. Seriously? I find out from the internet that I can order the cue replacement screen on Amazon for 80 bucks. I did. Then I took it to a local mechanic and had them install it for me. Cost me 130 bucks to have it installed. Beats the hell out of the minimum of 1200 for Cadillac. They try telling you the whole unit needs replaced. They take it, slap a new screen on it and sell it as refurbished. Crooks! So after buying new rims and an aftermarket screen and dealing with a hard shifting car, Im at 91k miles at this point, I get in my car to leave work and the ac stopped working. Took it to my fave local mechanic. He tries to fix it but apparently it is a sensor that has to be fixed by a gm dealer so it can be reprogrammed. Of course it does! To sum it all up, the Cadillac looks nice, the electronics quality is definitely lacking, and Cadillac does not stand behind their product. I will never buy another gm product again. My money will go back to Nissan.

Cadillac has all ranges of models to a two door convertible to a best in class full size SUV. The quality is also maintained throughout their lineup. The interior and external design are best in class. They are at the top in their SUV line, and their cars are beginning to compete with the Germans Cadillac has a wide variety of personalized options from color to entertainment to overall upgrades, even though their base models are excellent. Also, every model of car or SUV are as spacious as any competitor. They tend to run big without compromising on style and performance. It seems at least 10% more roomy than our former Expedition.

I bought a 2009 CTS top of the line model in March of this year 500 miles after I left the dealership the check engine light came on. I put it in Levis Cadillac in Slidell, LA, for two weeks they had it and said that it was a problem with the coolant area of the car and that they had fixed it. Well in two weeks the light came on again, GUESS WHAT, the same problem. OK back to the shop I go, this time it was the end of April and they had the car for (three) weeks. I picked the car up in or on May 20th drove out the service dept. I went 25 miles, THE LIGHT CAME AGAIN !!! So I finished my business in New Orleans, LA and took it back to the Levis Cadillac. They said they would call Cadillac Technical for help. They told them to replace the same parts as before and it should be fixed. It has taken them and Cadillac until yesterday which was JUNE 25TH to so called fix the car. I picked it up at 10:30 - got on the Highway to go to the VA Hospital in New Orleans. NOW THIS IS THE PART I JUST CANT BELIEVE, THE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN on my way to my doctors appointment. When I got done at the V A I drove straight back to the dealership service department and they said they would be happy to look at but its the same problem, OH MY GOD. Could someone help me out. I bought this Cadillac CTS and have only put 750 miles on it since. The car only has 46,058 miles on it! I feel like a total jerk. Ive owned 5 Cadillacs and I also own a 06 STS4, and I have had all kinds of problems with it. Well I think its time for me to reevaluate my GM LOYALTY. This sucks.......
My son graduated from college last month and was lucky enough to find a job
My son graduated from college last month and was lucky enough to find a job prior to graduating. He bought his first nice car, a beautiful 2005 STS Cadillac. We noticed that the car was burning oil. In 4,000 miles, the car went through 7 quarts of oil which is unbelievable for a car with 62,000 miles and had been serviced 36 times by Cadillac dealerships according to the faux report. The dealership tells us that the car needs new pistons and rings. The cost is $3,500 to fix the vehicle. When we bought the car, it had a $1,500 guarantee if there were any problems with the car. They do this on different brands of used cars. I emailed GM Cadillac division and received an email that they were happy to help and would contact us the next day which they did. I explained to them that there has been multiple complaints about that model and that this was a defect and I would hope they could help my son with the cost of the overhaul. The second person I talked to told me that the most they could help was the $1,500 from the dealership like they were involved which this was already offered from the lot where we bought the car. I then asked for the supervisor whose name is Roy. I told him that I have never heard of a car with 66,000 miles going through 7 quarts of oil in 4,000 miles and especially a high-end car. The bottom line is he said there’s nothing he could do about it. I realized that there is probably nothing that can be done but I am in customer service for a large company and cant believe that they offered no help especially with social media nowadays.

We have a 14 ats. We bought new.. The cue cracked 2-3 later, it was under warranty so they fixed it.... Now it’s cracking again... They told us it’s a flaw that they screwed up, they should keep fixing it... And fix it right... We paid a lot of money for this car.

I had submitted a review in June after having been told by Cadillac that I was SOL regarding the issue I had with the OEM tires on my 2017 XT5. Fortunately, I complained to my dealer and told them I wouldn’t be back after my lease was up. The dealer intervened on my behalf with Cadillac and shockingly, they were successful where I had not been....I received a check for full reimbursement for the Continental tires I replaced the OEM Michelin tires with. According to the lady with the dealership that handles warranty issues, there should not have been an issue with Cadillac refusing my claim as there had been a Bulletin issued regarding the problem with the tires!! So...I have a decision to make....I’m happy with my dealer, but still unhappy with Cadillac! I will at least consider another Caddy, but not a slam dunk for me like it once was! I will also consider others as well! Remember when you bought a Cadillac knowing you were buying quality? Not so much anymore. One would think the manufacturer would figure that out. Regardless, I felt I should tell “the rest of the story”!

My experience with this car is becoming a nightmare. How could a high priced car have so many problems. I did my oil changes as required and car maintenance and now the engine is gone up. How could this happen, I need help with repairs from General Motors are a total refund for repairs. How do I get in contact with GM for help and answers? Car was bought used in 2015, it only had one owner and I had the Carfax report and service details.

2000 Cadillac Deville Delegance - Purchased the car in 2005 with 67K miles
2000 Cadillac Deville Delegance - Purchased the car in 2005 with 67K miles on it. I wanted a big car to be comfortable sitting in traffic. The Car was a Florida car brought up to NYC for trade-in on a Toyota Avalon. The dealer indicated the car had all service records from the date of purchase, so i bought the car. It was a REALLY nice car to drive, big beautiful bench seats, lots of power and great on gas. I averaged 25MPG which in a cruiser was something unheard of at the time. But at about 75K miles, all the beauty was left behind. The car ended up with overheating issues, i brought it to Cadillac who indicated that this was a known issue on the Deville and DHS of those years, that the NorthStar had issues with the head studs sealing incorrectly and leaking. They told me that the engine would need to be replaced, because of the design flaw that caused the engine head to warp (Why no recall?). I ended up buying a NHRA approved Dragster Radiator and cooling fan and wired it up to a toggle switch, after checking with multiple forums, it turns out that this is NOT the case, it is a flaw in the cooling system, that if caught early enough can be corrected. This worked for the remainder of the life of the car, but in that time, I replaced: All power window motors with Toyota Camry motors, which lasted the length of the car, replaced the thermostat with a wide open version that would constantly circulate the coolant. Replaced the stereo, as it shorted out, due to water leaking into the car when it rained, which used to set the alarm off while driving in the rain. Replaced the Torque converter with a high performance one from an LT1 Vette. And for kicks after the exhaust rotted off put two flowmasters on it. While it was a nice looking car, it died at 103K miles with a fiery death due to an electrical fire from water leaking into the car from under the windshield onto the electronic instrument cluster. (Ironically after the fire my fans and radiator still worked) Guess I wire better than GM. My complaint with GM is why they cant build cars better? I have had Toyotas go 400K+ miles with only 1-2k dollars of actual maintenance needed for the life of the car. I cant understand why people keep buying them. I for one would buy another Cadillac Deville, but only as a weekend tinker project, or possibly a demo derby car, since fire typically gets the crowd roaring!

Took my 2010 Cadillac SRX 81,000 miles. Dealership said I need new Timing Chain. The Chain has been stretched out of place. $1900.00 dollars to repair. GM has to know they have a problem with the Timing Chain on these vehicles. Talked with local repair shop who has seen the same problems with at least one other SRX. What a lousy car, will never buy another American made vehicle.

Cadillac offers an excellent variety of models. The color and shape were perfect. The insides were good enough for my kids and their friends. Plenty of room for furniture and others. It has definitely made many changes to its next model and you can see the improvements on the car. And the way their people talked and were polite made me feel like they really wanted to sell me the car that would really help me.

I purchased a used 2014 Cadillac SRX Premium in February 2016 from a non-Cadillac dealership. It was the first used vehicle I purchased since 1999. But it was a Cadillac so how could I go wrong! Roughly one year later I noticed what appeared to be a blemish on the touchscreen. At first I thought the glass had cracked but determined the blemish was behind the glass. Seeing that the screen is sealed I had no idea how the blemish occurred. Needless to say over the course of the next few months the blemish morphed into what now looks like webbing. I took my vehicle to a Cadillac Dealership and the minute the Service guy looked at it he said it was a common problem with the Cadillac. After checking he found that because Id exceeded 50k miles it was not covered under warranty. Although unsightly the touchscreen still worked. Upon doing research on various message boards including the Cadillac Forum I found I wasnt the only person experiencing the issue with the webbing but I also read that eventually the touchscreen would stop working. Needless to say in October 2017 the touchscreen stopped working. I contacted Cadillac Customer via email only to be told I had to take the vehicle to a Cadillac Dealership for a diagnostic. I respond that I had in fact done so in July and attached the receipt to show info screen is spider webbing from inside. Cause: Spider webbing on center stack. I received a response via email that I had to take my vehicle to a dealership within one month of notifying Cadillac. I was provided a Service Request Number **. So, I scheduled my vehicle again and provided the dealership with the reference number. Of course they found the issue was the same. I reached out to Cadillac with the information and received a response wanting me to inform Cadillac Customer Care what the dealership recommends should be done and I was also asked to provide my VIN. I respond asking what was the purpose of my providing a reference number to the dealership if Cadillac wasnt able to look up the information. I ended my email stating I would provide the information and that I also wanted the email address or phone number of their complaint department and or problem and resolution department. On November 8th I received an email from the Cadillac customer assistance team to state theyd verified with the dealership Id had a diagnostic done on my vehicle and that a Cadillac Senior Advisor would be contacting me within two days. I missed the first call on Nov ninth and the second call later that evening. The second caller was Jacob. Jacob left me a voice message to state he was calling on behalf of Ingrid and that Ingrid was out of the office for the evening and asked that Jacob give me a call. Since Jacob missed me as well he asked that I call Ingrid on Nov 10. I called Ingrid the morning of Nov 10th and left her a message. I also received an email from Cadillac Customer care wanting to know if my issue had been resolved in which I responded it had not but I hoped to connect with Ingrid sometime during Friday. At 3:08 pm I received a call from Sharae (not sure if I spelled her name correctly). Anyway I explained the issue after which she proceeded to tell me that unfortunately because I was over 30k miles pass 50k it was not under warranty and Cadillac would not be able to do anything to cover any of the cost. I explained that Id read different forums and it seemed to be a common problem and I referred to it as a defect. She commented on how people post things on the internet. I got the impression she didnt feel what people were saying carried any weight. She also went to tell me that my issue was cosmetic not mechanical. I explained it would be cosmetic if my screen had spider webbing and the touch screen still worked. However, since my touch screen was frozen thus unusable it was more than cosmetic. I also said that a Cadillac cost entirely too much money for this type of problem. She then asked if my vehicle had been purchased new or used which I answered used but still found her question offensive. I asked her who else could I speak to and she said that she was the highest level of customer care. She does report to a supervisor but that her supervisor would tell me the same information that Sharae had already told me. Since prior to our call shed informed me our call may be monitored I asked that she please email me a transcript of our call and she said she would. What I received was Dear Ms. **, Per your request, here is a summary of the final resolution for your 2014 Cadillac SRX CROSSOVER, case number **. Based on the age and miles on the vehicle and the concern being cosmetic we are unable to offer cost assistance on these repairs, this is the final decision. Cadillac does review each customer’s concern on an individual basis. All the facts in your situation were carefully considered, and we have determined that this decision is appropriate given the details of your case. Regards, Cadillac. Customer Assistance 1-800-458-8006. I still am researching to see if I can file a formal complaint on the Cadillac Cue to include the response from their highest level of what shed defined as Customer Care. It was more like dont care!

I purchased my 2013 Cadillac SRX Luxury 14 months ago, it was a one owner car and was purchased at dealership that originally sold it. I purchased an extended warranty for 2500. About 1 week ago my infotainment in my car froze, I am unable to use navigation or access anything in the main cue. Well I called the dealership and they told me to bring it in. I brought it in and the girl working there said it had to be replaced. She called the extended warranty and was told that the warranty did not cover the radio. I was upset to say the least. 1200 for a new cue to be put in plus labor. I told the dealership that the cue was more than a radio, it is the whole center that controls radio, satellite, GPS, navigation, weather, AC controls, etc. I told the guy at the dealership that I had down my research prior to coming in and that the infotainment cue in all models of Cadillac have had issues like mine since 2013. In all models CTS, SRX, Escalade and Crossovers. I think Cadillac should be responsible for fixing these since without that feature in my car it is not a luxury model.

Before I go into my review...I should have known! I am the sucker! GM has a great marketing Dept. Years ago, my dad owned a 2000 Seville DHS Sedan. It had major issues with door actuators and ignition key jamming. Cadillac of Troy charged my dad big money to fix. It never got fixed. I remember the ignition key jamming a week before we sold that car after dad passed away. Our mom had a 1998 Cadillac Eldorado STS 2 door coupe. She hated that car and sold it. Said it was a piece of junk. So after both our parents pass away, what do I do??? I buy me a 2010 Cadillac SRX Performance Edition AWD. A week after I bought it, it rained real hard. I had swimming pools in the driver’s side and passengers side. I bought it used BTW. Researched roof leaks to find out 300,000 of these had the same issuer and there was an ongoing class action suit by people vs the state of California. Didnt help me, I am in Michigan. After I hollered lemon law, the used car dealer finally goes ahead and fixes the roof leak. Took them two months. I get the vehicle back and check engine light goes on. I have a P0017 code, possible bad timing chain. Finally after crying for 4 months, I get the warranty people (GWC Warranty) to finally fix my timing chain. WoooHhhooo!!! Dont get your hopes up too soon, for a week later, I have a P2135 code. Cadillac forums tells me I have a bad TPS sensor, but its better to replace the throttle body for its all built in. I do that.Three days after new throttle body I get a P0442 code. Possible bad purge valve solenoid sensor. Replaced that too. Did it myself. Got the parts online from BOSCH. Didnt feel like renting another car for a week while the warranty people Fixed my Cadillac. A week later I have a P0455 code, EVAP large leak detected. Now I have an appointment with Suburban Cadillac of Ann Arbor tomorrow 11/15/18 for them to run a smoke test to pinpoint what exactly is wrong with my Cadillac. Not fixing it. Mind you just the test, hopefully I go from there. Praying the good Lord shines luck my wait and the darn thing runs trouble and worry free for 1 year. For paying $13,999 USD with a service warranty putting it at $16,000 I was hoping for better reliability than this.

I purchased my first Cadillac (2015 SRX with approximately 20,000 miles) in December 2016. The CUE system was replaced in January 2017. Also in January 2017, 2 emissions related sensors had to be replaced. Later in 2017, another sensor had to be replaced. In October 2018, both front end wheel bearings and windshield washer sprayer had to be replaced at about 58,000 miles. In January 2019, the purge solenoid thingie had to be replaced at about 65,000 miles -- a recall that wasnt officially classified as a recall. In May 2019, my car wouldnt start as if the fairly new battery was dead. Dealer ran a diagnostic check. No problems were detected. Now at almost 72,000 miles, the CUE system is malfunctioning again. I plan for this to be my last Cadillac. I am now shopping for a Hyundai, Toyota, Nissan, Honda or any other dependable brand to replace this Cadillac lemon.

Nothing beats a Cadillac. Smooth looking and feeling, and powerful. 300+hp v8 gets up and going like nobodys business. Remember the last time you were in a boat? I do. The last time I drove my caddy down the street. Comfortable ride. Plush leather seats, white wall tires, wood trim and no corners are cut. Imagine being the only person in a city bus. This is how I feel riding around in my caddy. If you take people with you they will feel like that also.

Well I have heard a lot of stories about the Cadillac CTS and did not believe them until now. I bought my 06 CTS in February 2012. The car only had 38,000 miles on it. I heard a little ticking sound coming from the driver side part of the engine and had it looked at. The maintenance tech said it might have just needed an oil change so I had him do it. Which of course did not stop the problem. So I had spoke to a couple of friends and family members to ask them what they thought and of course no one really knew. I kept up on the oil changes and always checked my fluids since I drove this car a lot back and forth between my home and Columbus and the car never gave me a problem just had a light ticking sound. Well needless to say August 20th 2013 I was heading back to Columbus and my engine gave up and was done. It blew up at my half way point to Columbus so I had my car towed to Germain Cadillac and paid $260.00 in a tow fee and asked them to look at it while I called GM. I waited a month just to find out my car was not going to be covered even though my warranty ran out of time not mileage and now they are wanting $200.00 for the inspection they did. GM is saying that there was burnt oil and that my car threw a rod and a bearing through the block. I still owe on the car and have not had it long enough to have these kind of problems with it. This is crazy. I showed them where the car had maintenance done on it every time I traveled and that the oil was changed every 6,000 to 7,000 miles. I am now looking to go forward with a class action Lawsuit.

I bought a used Cadillac SRX 2015 last month & had NO IDEA that Id Never be able to drive my very first Cadillac at Night! The lights go from very dim to non existant in a matter of seconds from the get go! I truly cannot believe a company this size & reputation would knowingly dismiss all of the complaints regarding driving safety & no headlights to see the road!!! This is unbelievable & unacceptable! Shame on you GM!

Do not ever buy a Cadillac. I am on my second SRX, the first was totaled and was the standard model 2011. I upgraded to a 2015 and was excited about the luxury features. Heritage Cadillac in Cobb County sold me a vehicle with a frozen CUE screen and luckily I caught it and they replaced it immediately the day after I drove it off the lot. Then I slowly realized my headlights werent working properly over the following months. They seemed too dim but they were on. Finally after the second time somebody almost hit me at night I knew something was amiss. I googled and sure enough, lawsuits and complaints! I will never buy another GM car and I am beyond disgusted that a dealership would knowingly sell me a car with faulty parts without disclosing the information beforehand! I cannot WAIT to get in on this headlight class action lawsuit! Buyer Beware! Once GM agrees to pay for these lights Im getting them fixed and trading it in for a Mercedes!

While driving my 2005 STS Cadillac, the back brake system locked while I was driving about 45 miles a hour. The back wheels were locked sending the car spinning out control. I had my son and daughter in the car as well. I almost hit several other cars. It finally stopped in the middle of the intersection of a very busy street. We could have been killed. I am in the process of contacting the dealership to see what malfunction. Just wondering, has anyone else ever had this to happen?

So far I have had nothing but problems with my 2009 CTS. Ive gotten to the point where I absolutely regret even seeing it for sale on the lot, I wish I had bought ANYTHING else. I bought the car last year with around 80k miles on it. The first thing that should have been a sign that their customer service was in the toilet was when my local Cadillac dealer did a $100 oil change for me. They failed to attach the rock shield to the bottom of the car and after it tore off sounding like all hell breaking loose in their lot, they blamed me for my car missing a screw.. underneath... like I daily check those screws. And if it was missing why the heck did it stay on the car until they worked on it? My car is still naked under there. Thanks Cadillac. After a month of having the car I get the check engine light. I connect to OnStar who tells me my Auxiliary Water pump is going out. $250 later thats all better. After two months my rear door locks stopped working, I called the dealer and gave up when I was quoted $400 in labor alone. Fast forward another two months and now my car consistently overheats. Additionally I got that bad water pump code AGAIN (gosh those things are made well) - $250 AGAIN and its all better. My Daytime running lights go on and off randomly, one at a time. I look so great in my car. No one even has a clue as to why this is happening. Now my Forward adaptive lighting has started to malfunction. The passenger side bulb has turned completely purple, which sounds cool but none of the other ones are. I didnt mind replacing it myself so I started looking into it. So I have to remove the entire front of the car to change the headlight. OK no problem, Im no Einstein but I can handle some screws right? That wouldnt be a problem if I could find the bulb.I contacted Customer Service and they were anything but friendly. I tried to get help finding out where to get the bulb, but the guy copied and pasted me a bunch of website addresses that I had already searched to no avail trying to find the headlight assembly. Then asked me what I was hoping to get from contacting them, what an **. I just WANT A PART NUMBER. WHY IS THAT SO HARD?At this point Ive decided I HATE my car and Cadillac in general. I thought they had really shifted gears, and I really enjoyed my older V which is why I bought this car, but boy howdy this is the biggest piece of junk Ive ever owned. So now I have a 2009 Cadillac that I cant lock the doors on or drive at night, and Im scared to take it out of town because Im afraid the mystery auxiliary water pump will strand me. Im borrowing a friends 2000 Toyota to make my trip. Is this really the new Cadillac? I feel duped, tricked and stuck with this thing. If anyone from Cadillac happens to see this, Id love to know where to get that bulb. Im visually impaired in one eye so having two headlights would be great. Let me know.

I own a 2002 Cadillac Deville. I have had continual problems with all of my automatic windows. Basically, all four windows have broken at least once in the three years I have owned this car. The windows go down, but they will not go up. I have had at least two or three of these windows fail at least two times. I have had one window fail 3 times. The cost of repairing these windows is approximately $300.00 to $400 a piece. I have come to learn (from the Frank ** Service Manager) that this particular is a well known design flaw with the Cadillac Deville. They have seen this issue with many customers on a repeated basis. I think this demonstrated a design problem with this car and has nothing to do with normal wear-and-tear. First, GM should be ashamed of not fixing this issue and having a recall. I would like to get a refund for my latest repair. I have no problem contacting my local FOX TV affiliate in Dallas/FW and make them aware of this issue. They have a reporter that handles issues such as these. I will send you my latest repair bill for $500.00 and then I will sell this car. What a disgrace of a product.

We leased a Cadillac CTS V Sport in October of 2017. 42 month lease with available miles of 53K. We now have 11 months left on the lease. For the past 7 months the car has been in the service department 190 Days. Thats 6.2 months. It started out with somewhat minor issues. In April 24 thru May 3 of 2019 with 6449 miles on it (we had planned on buying the lease out so tried to keep the miles low) the Cue system needed replaced, all 4 tires needed replaced because of an alignment issue, rear tail assembly needed replaced, Internal failure of rear body structure stop lamp replaced. Then on November 25 2019 with 11629 miles it went back into the service department. Car needed a whole new engine, new turbo, fuel injectors plus so much more. Car just stopped. It was in the service dept for 68 days. Got it back January 31 2020. Went back into the shop February 24 2020 for 11 more days. Air conditioner went out of it. Got the car back March 5. On March 16th back into the shop for 75 more days. Had to rework the whole engine, replace both turbos this time plus so much more. Got the car back May 29 2020. Car went back into service June 5 2020 and is still there 20 days later. Needs 2 new tires and a new steering box because its showing aligned but it is shredding the tires. We have had a case open with Cadillac for quite some time. Asked them to take the car back in November 2019 when it needed a new engine. They said no. Asked again in March 2020 when it need the new engine reworked for 75 days. They said no. The car has now been in the service dept for 190 days in the last 7 months. We have had to continue making our monthly lease payments even though we have not had the car. We have 11 months left on the lease. Cadillac as of yesterday June 23 2020 still says we have to keep paying on the lease. They wont take the car back. Even though it obviously is a LEMON!Fair warning. DO NOT BUY CADILLAC. THEIR QUALITY IS TERRIBLE AND THEY WONT BACK THEIR PRODUCT! I have every invoice showing the repairs needed on a car that had 11600 miles on it. I would be happy to supply them. NEVER AGAIN! Its obvious by their actions that they do not care about anyone as a customer. They will milk us for the rest on this lease and then they will resale the car to someone when the car will have no warranty. They just care about the money!

Great aesthetic and styling. Excellent road manors, handling, and ride. Very solid power deliver and road control in harsh weather. Excellent interior with comfortable fit and crafting. Rotten reliability. Official Cadillac Certified repair is a joke and a complete scam. Leaking sun roof. Issues with alternators and electrical. A lot of recalls. Overall, love the car but hate the service department and always worry about how long until something else breaks.

They have a lot of different quality cars to choose from and different looks and quality. I would be more than happy to choose from them again. They have sedans that range from mid class to upper class and they have SUVs that range the same. Their passenger capacity is great. Most their vehicles have at least room for 3-4 in the back, 1 in the front with lots of room so they can be comfortable. Most if not all their cars have upgrade options to choose from and different engine to choose from. Their interior options are very good too.

Cadillac has a wide variety of models and selections. Each model included different packages allowing me a selection with items that allowed me to customize my vehicular selection. From color selection combined with interior combinations I was able to find just the right style that pleased both my spouse and I. Coupled with a wide variety of features led to a unique car built just for me. The inside capacity of the sedan offers a very roomy space for my passengers. Both front and back seats are comfortable. The leather seats keep warm in winter and offer a body hugging feeling.

I am a owner of a 2012 Cadillac SRX. My husband and I had started to notice our low beam lights getting dim to the point that driving at night is next to impossible without the high beams and we were trying to figure out how to come up with the money to get our vehicle’s lights repaired thinking it was just something that happened over time. Recently 02/24/20 we received a letter in the mail that GM was offering to reimburse customers up to 800.00 per headlight who had spent money out of pocket to get the issue corrected. Well my first thought was great we don’t have to worry about how we are going come up with the money because GM is acknowledging that this is an issue on their end and we could just take our vehicle to the dealership show them the letter and they would fix our lights. WRONG! When I called the dealership we were told GM would NOT pay upfront for our repairs although they are AWARE of the issues with the SRX’s headlights. They are only willing to reimburse after repairs are done which could cost the customer up to 1,600.00. So my question next was what if the customer cannot afford the expense upfront? GM’s answer was, SORRY WE CANNOT HELP YOU....I cannot explain how taken advantage of I felt, Shame on you GM. You acknowledge upfront the problem is moisture related issues causing headlights that you placed in these vehicle to fail but you will only reimburse those who can afford to have them fixed first on their own if then.... During research I read reviews where some people have been waiting months to get their money back. I am not sure what is going to happen in my case but for anyone reading this review please beware. It is unacceptable how GM treats its customers and their their regard for customer safety. I will NEVER purchase another vehicle from them!

Cadillac has very distinct look that can be seen near and afar. It has a quality of car features that outlooks all others, that stands out above all else. Cadillac Escalade trucks, three different versions of the Cadillac cars in town to sporty. Love that they are SUVs, cars, trucks, just a difference variety of quality vehicles. On sat, digital and WiFi, on star cruise control, anti-lock brake systems, back-up navigation, GPS, a rd and American quality that far extended and exceeds. Love the way it steers and the smooth driving experience. Can hold a lot of stuff... a trunk that could hold a elephant. It is a electrified experience and the make of it lets more people fit into her.

I have a 2005 Cadillac CTS 3.6L engine with less than 87,000 miles on it. About 2 weeks ago, a screw had somehow backed itself out of one of the gears and caused major damage to my vehicle. The valve cover is shredded, cracked cylinder head and a piece broke off the cast iron timing chain cover. I reported it to Cadillac in hope of them standing by their product and customer loyalty and in turn they have said its not covered under the powertrain warranty. At Cadillacs request, I had the car towed to Don Massey Cadillac because they were supposed to have a reputation for good customer service. That is very wrong. They took almost 5 days to look at my car and give a diagnosis. Now the mechanic that is going to fix the car is on vacation and has three weeks of work before he could get to my car. If the dealership would have looked at the car in a timely manner the mechanic could have looked at it sooner and at least got the parts ordered. I am now going to be at least another month without my car because Cadillac wasted my time. I will NEVER buy another Cadillac or GM product. This car has never been abused or had modifications done to it. Every oil change has had synthetic oil put into it. I am very dissatisfied with the Cadillac brand of luxury. There is nothing luxury about how they treat their customers.

2004 Cadillac Deville - The first regulator failed ($366.78) 2010, service advisor said a common problem for the vehicle. The second regulator ($319.23) failed in 2012 - different dealership service advisor said known problem for the vehicle. In 2012 I emailed Cadillac to see if they would cover these repairs. Escalated in GM several levels but ultimately they denied there was a problem - the parts not defective, the failure because they were beyond expected life cycle. Today the third regulator failed. This vehicle has 51000 miles and the rear windows were rarely used if ever. I have 3 other GM vehicles (92 Cadillac Allante, 1994 Saturn, 1998 Cad Deville) - no regulator problems.

New run flat tires installed on 2016 Cadillac. If they get a flat you must buy and install a new tire at a cost of $300.00 plus they cannot be repaired and this is not considered a road hazard defect under warranty description. This is not made known to the buyer as a fact until you get a flat that should cost about $30.00 to repair on all older type tires. The sad part is if you get another flat tire by a nail or anything else you would have to buy another new tire. The car does not come with a spare or tools to change your tire.

The CUE system on my 2019 CTS is broke and the dealer tells me that they are unable to fix it!! The door locks dont unlock until my keys are in my hand! The navigation comes in and out, the radio comes in and out, the screen goes totally blank...black. Nothing!!! They wont or cant fix it, the salesman saw the problems and he went to the President Jeff Brown and he wont do anything. He told him to tell me to buy a new car!!!! I tried to call Mr Brown a few times. I left messages on his voice mail and he wont get back to me. The car isnt even a year old yet and I have a black screen where my CUE is to be. They wont even try to fix it and they wont do anything to help me. I highly suggest no one go to the Mentor Ohio Classic Cadillac!!! There are other Cadillac dealers that will treat their customers with respect!!

Beware of obstacle to knees, causing personal injury upon entering and exiting the driver seat of an XTS. I have injured my knees twice and it is a bad painful abrasion. There is a protrusion above the speaker on the door liner where it integrates with the dashboard once door is closed. The injury is complicated by the dynamic force in which you enter and exit a car. Cadillac should clear the space allowing for swiveling leg rotation. Cadillac needs to protect its drivers and correct this design flaw. Yours truly, sore knees

I really love it. It has a great deal of variety. Appearance is very cool and the painting is very shiny and sparkly. I love the leather seats and stuff. It has a good feel to it. The passenger capacity is very large depending how you put down. You choose it to be up eight cars seats for many. The upgrades on the car is very nice too and you can get upgrade at a local store. I also really like the motor.

2001 Cadillac Seville STS 4 dr - I bought a used 2001 STS in approx 2010 with 96,000 miles on it. I’m a diehard GM man, my father was and my son is. I own 4 GMs at the moment. I’ve been reading these complaint issues, and as much as feel for the people writing them, my car has been running perfectly. I’ve replaced the HUD light as soon as I bought knowing it needed. Later, I replaced the AC Fan motor with an OEM unit and a new battery again OEM just recently as the vehicle had remained in a car storage unit for a year here in Ft. Lauderdale. The car does have a vibration between 64 and 72 MPH and seems to perform best at 80 MPH including best MPG. I love my Cadillac and maintain it to like new showroom condition. I need to replace the turn signal flasher at the moment, but just consumable items. I also noticed the relay for the starter is somewhat discolored due to heat and will replace it before anything happens.

STS rear wheel drive - In 2005, the tires wear on the inside as though it is out of line or something. The alignment center said there is no adjustment on the rear and they even called the Cadillac dealer to see if there was a fix. The tires were rotated so all 4 wear out in 30,000 miles? Anyone who has an answer to this?

I got my 2013 Cadillac SRX back in March and have put several miles on it since I got it. I am at almost 54,000 miles now. Started hearing a weird sound and found out that it was my left rear wheel bearing. My warranty ran out at 50,000 so the dealership would not fix at no cost. Took it to my local garage and they fixed it at the tune of $350.00. I have never had a wheel bearing go out on any of my past cars. It is just disappointing that a car with this few miles would have an issue like this. I asked the guy at the garage what made this happen and he said usually it is from age, but that a car that is only a few years old should not have this issue. Said it was probably a defect in the bearing. If that is the case I believe that Cadillac should have repaired it at no cost to me. Love my Cadillac. It is just disappointing after only having this car for a few months. I hope other 2013 Cadillac SRX owners dont have the same problem.

Cadillac SRX: Very pretty SUV, handles good. However, acceleration is not so good. The problem is when you need to accelerate quickly you cannot. It takes the computer a few seconds to know that you need some power before it kicks in. I ask dealership about this, they said that is normal. But its risky and that hesitation has almost caused problems more than once, so now I know its just a doggie SUV. Last one Ill buy.

I have a 2015 XTS and the crackling in the left and right corners of the Cue screen is the least of the problem, now my radio is selecting its own stations, is flipping from media to radio on its own, as well as all of the station data is racing across the screen to the left continuously. Today, the local Dale Earnhardt GM Dealer said that it was becoming a common problem, the unit was on back-order until the end of September (it is now the middle of August) and will cost $1,475.12 to replace. This is my third and last Cadillac nor will I recommend that any of my friends buy Cadillac. The manufacturer should not place sub-par components in a $60K vehicle.

Simply put, 4 cue systems replaced and we are now going on #5! GM you have lost a customer for life! Overpriced junk! Definitely do your homework with any Cadillac with the cue system. Had I done mine, I would never put myself through the aggravation. Also replaced headlight lens. Good luck!

I have a 2004 Cadillac Deville DTS. I bought it with 8,000 miles. Now, its 150,000 miles and mostly highway miles. Further, its always garaged and in immaculate condition and religiously maintained at dealership. But three window regulators required replacing, including both rear doors. Now, the drivers side rear door needs a regulator and/or a control module. That door has to be manually locked or unlocked now. I have no kids, and I live alone. No one uses that door but me to carry groceries. Estimate again is $500 or so. I planned to replace this car at 200,000 miles. I have not decided that Im willing to spend another $500 on the windows and door locks. Mechanical problems at this mileage would be acceptable to a degree. However, the same failures of electrical components that secure the vehicle and passenger safety are unacceptable for a vehicle of this promoted quality. My replacement car will not be a GM vehicle.

Cadillac ELR Electric is absolutely the best car I have ever had and even now, I own 12 other cars. Being that is electric, makes all the difference since I put gas once a month since it runs a generator engine that charges the batteries. I am saving SO much money and have not had one simple issue in the last 4 years. I love my Cadillac.

I bought a brand new Cadillac CT6 in 2017. After 2 years of use, I noticed the wheels had some spots that resulted to be paint peeling off of the wheels. It took multiple visits to the dealership to open a report and get the warranty claim started since service technicians did not know how to properly open a warranty claim. After more than 2 months of continuous visits to the dealership, GM finally answered that they would not replace the wheels due to warranty expiration. Poor warranty support on a car of more than $50k tag price. Not buying Cadillac again.

I purchased a 2013 Cadillac ATS in November 2012 and it has been in the shop twice since I purchased the vehicle. The first time was for four (4) days and the second time for 11 days. The service department has informed me on both occasions that they found the problem and are fixing it, but this time what they thought was the problem and fixed was not the problem. They got another part in hopes of resolving the situation.

I love the variety I get at Cadillac. There are so many products to choose from, and I like that Im given the opportunity to look at and purchase what I WANT. All the appearances and features of the Cadillac brand is amazing. They are so up to speed on the modern looks and technology that I am very impressed. The upgrade and various personalized options is wonderful at Cadillac companies. Im always finding great option to style my car. I have found Cadillac to be especially spacious. Fitting everything I need for all my outings plus the kids! Passenger capacity with these vehicles is amazing.

Unfortunately, like many others, I purchased a vehicle from GM with their horrible CUE system. A system which they are aware has many, many issues, but they still fail to stand behind it. I truly believe that Cadillac/GM, now makes more profit off of their customers from REPLACING the CUE system, than when they originally sold them the piece of junk.My story began when I purchased a used 2013 Cadillac XTS with 11,000 miles. Within less than a week, I noticed the screen kept freezing up. I took it to my local Cadillac dealership and they diagnosed the problem as the CUE system. They replaced the CUE system at no charge to me and it worked fine, for now. When I reached 49,000 the screen once again locked up. I took it to Thompson Cadillac in Raleigh NC. Big mistake. My wife drops the car off and later that day I receive a call from Mike ** in the service department telling me its the CUE system and it needs to be replaced. He says it will be $2,400 and that its not covered under the warranty. I responded, $2,400, are you crazy? You all know that this CUE system is crap and you should stand behind your products! He replied that it would be $2,400 and thats all he could do. I told him that this would be the LAST Cadillac I would ever purchased. He, like many other service departments, could care less. I picked my car up the next day from Thompson Cadillac, settled out my bill for the oil change, and left unsatisfied as do many other customers Im sure. CUE system still broke and NO resolution. I refused to pay $2,400 for a problem that Cadillac and GM are aware of. I wanted to sue them and still do.To make a long story short, I got lucky. I found another Cadillac dealership in the area, a reputable one, that took care of me. While I am still concerned about Cadillac/GM products, at least they restored my faith in now a reputable service department should take care of their customers. Two things I learned from this experience, I wont buy another Cadillac until they fix, or completely replace, the CUE systems, and second, I wont ever return to THOMPSON CADILLAC in Raleigh NC!

The Cadillac de Ville has a quiet motor sound while riding, it’s the best. I added snow tires and upgraded the seat covers to protect my leather. I also put in a wheel cover plus it has turn signals on the rear-view mirror. Its most distinct appearance are the headlights and the body features. The Cadillac Escalade is very nice for traveling with a passenger capacity of 8 adults. I travel with my 3 adult brothers and their wives, my sister and myself and we all fit.

For years now my 2002 Cadillac STS have had vibration at highway speed specifically from 64 to 72 miles an hour. I gave up fixing this problem after many trials and errors and finding out that its a common defect with many Cadillacs. They do not want to admit this is a defect, shame on them. Its because of this that Im really having backaches.

I bought a 2012 Cadillac SRX 9/26/2016, its my first Cadillac and I take pride in all my vehicles. Since having this vehicle, replaced alternator in November 2016 because it went bad (Figure that) $475.00 later. Now Im taking it to the dealer again for my manual lift-gate because I cant open from outside of vehicle. My mechanic said its a wiring problem because the rear defroster, rear wipers, license plate light and lift-gate light are not working. He would of fixed this but he doesnt work on very many Cadillacs. I even called Cadillac and they said it would be under powertrain warranty if it happened in 2016 or under 50,000 miles. I told them Im under 50,000 miles and I bought 9/2016. They said I would have to bite the bullet and get the electrical looked at. Customer service is below expectations even after finding out that the lift gates have been a problem for this year. Its hard to believe that so many customers have problems and nothing is resolved. The customer doesnt have a open checkbook to fix these problems that should of been a recall in the first place to correct any and all factory issues. Anyways thanks for reading.

Cadillac had a lot of selections of cars to choose from. I was really impressed with the amount of inventory they could fit in a showroom. They have good sales people, too. They will let you upgrade the heck out of the car just as long as you have the money for them. You can do it all if you want to spend. I knew the car was upgraded but the features were great and I could not believe it had so many different bells and whistles. You can also fit a lot of things and people in this car. It is quite roomy.

It has been issue after issue with this car. The day I bought it the service engine light came on. Took it to the dealer and they just reset the computer. Long story short, it took over 30 days of it being in the shop to then finally get the rear differential replaced. I did online research and found some 1000 rear differential were faulty. The guy at the service department really didnt care. GM never recalled or made it public even after they knew. Then the horrible Pirelli tires started losing air pressure. Had 2 of them replaced, fast forward 1 1/2 years, I just replaced 3 of them replaced. The cherry on top is now the AC doesnt function properly.I have taken the car in several times and after several attempts they only replaced the compressor. The issue is still there and they are telling me theres nothing they can do. I am in Florida and cant afford a car without AC which cost well over 50k. Bottom line it has been issue after issue. I have gotten to the point where I want to trade it in and get a different brand. To GM: you really dropped the ball on the quality of parts you assemble Cadillac with.

The Cadillac offers many different models, but we drive the 2006 DTS. It offers a smooth ride and a responsive engine. The model is also equipped with a digital read outs that check condition of the car. The DTS has leather interior it makes the ride extremely nice. The car comes with a large trunk which makes it easy to carry luggage and other items as well. One of our favorite upgrades are the seats, they have the option to make them hotter or colder. We also love the digital readout of tire, and engine conditions, as well as the temperature read out of the outside and inside of the car. The car can hold up to three passengers in the front and back with bench seats up front. There is plenty of leg room for passengers as well.

Buying a Cadillac SRX was a HUGE MISTAKE. I bought a used Cadillac SRX in January of 2019 and it was the worst mistake. I have had to spend over $4000 in repairs within the first year and Cadillac has been of NO HELP at all. In fact, they gave me overinflated prices for the repairs and incorrect assessment of the issue.Firstly, my rear bearing went. Nothing to be done about that except to fix it. Repairs were just under $800. Next month, my lift gate failed and dropped right on my head. After moving out of the way and letting the lift gate fall closed, it refused to open again. Not manually and not with any of the power buttons. We brought it into a dealership and after a $70 inspection, they said it was fused shut and they didn’t know why. They quoted my $450 to break open the rear lock. On top of that $450 price tag would be a new diagnostic to see what the root problem was. The mechanic said it could be the module, the struts, the shocks or even the motor. With all that, I would then need to reprogram the module for another $150. As I was deliberating what to do next, the Cue system (the touchscreen where everything relies on) stopped working. I had no central control over heating, music, navigation or anything else, on top of no trunk. I took my car to a mechanic who boasted previous work for Cadillac to see what his prices were. He charged me $0 to open my trunk! He used the manual release hidden behind the tail light. Why wouldn’t Cadillac do that?? Instead they tried to charge me $450 for a whole new lock system. After that, he told me that there was a problem that plagued a lot of SRXs. The moon roof drainage lines, when backed up, leak into the trunk of the SRX (under the spare tire area). So, we checked and yes indeed, there were 2-3 gallons of water in my trunk. The lift gate module and the motor were both submerged. So, in the end I had to pay for the 2 new struts, new motor and new module. I now have to go back to Cadillac to have the module reprogrammed (as only Cadillac can do it). They are charging me $150 for that, and offer NO help at all. Unfortunately, there will be a real chance of it happening again, as there was no way to fix the drainage problem. To fix my Cue system, Cadillac quoted me $1400. This mechanic I went to and replaced it while I waited and only charged me $400. That’s a $1000 difference in this one aspect alone. My car is only a 2014. It has 86,000 km which is just outside their warranty period. Cadillac boast their comfort, their quality and their care for their drivers. Well I say BULL. When I bought a Cadillac, I thought I would have a quality vehicle that would last, while providing a comfort that my children and I would love. That did not happen. At all. Buying a Cadillac was the worst car decision I have ever made and it has cost me thousands of dollars and dozens of hours in repair time. I will not buy a Cadillac again and I highly discourage anyone buying a SRX. It is not worth it. Sure, its pretty but mine is the sourest of all LEMONS.

At first it was great, but then the lower part of the screen would no longer sense your touch. After a couple of weeks it just stopped working altogether by touch. Fortunately the steering wheel and the verbal command still works for changing the channels. Shame on Cadillac for putting a pile of crap in a flagship car line.

Bought my SRX last year. I have spent over $600 have both bulbs replaced twice and now the passenger side is out again. Received a letter over the weekend about the moisture in the light itself. Took it to the dealership and was told that I needed both changed and new bulbs that would be covered by GM. Then I was told that I had to pay $1,500 to the dealership and file a claim with GM for reimbursement. WHAT A JOKE! If their certified tech at their branded dealership says they need replaced, why am I paying anything? Furthermore, EVEN IF I am to pay for something and wait for reimbursement, why is the LABOR and PARTS? The parts are coming form GM WHO IS REIMBURSING ME! Ugh.

2011 Cadillac Escalade - My Cadillac will not run any faster than 79 mph. This is a real problem when passing other cars. The Cadillac has a gover on it. This is my 4th Cadillac. None of my others ever gave me any trouble. The mechanic at our dealership cannot fix it. They told me not to drive faster than 79 mph. I have 140 mph on the dash.
I am a victim of bad work performed on my vehicle by the service department
I am a victim of bad work performed on my vehicle by the service department, unethical car service practices and unheard-of customer resolution at Suburban Cadillac Plymouth, 40475 Ann Arbor Rd., Plymouth MI. I took my car in for service on 6/2/17 and the dealership had my car for over 2 months which caused me great concern. I researched the Timing Change job that was being done and learned it was a very tedious job. When I finally received my vehicle, cost $3111.01 which my warranty covered 100% but $750.00 was rolled over to me due to dealership not accepting $70 per hour labor cost and I had to make up difference. The next day while heading to work I noticed my XM Satellite radio wasn’t working. I called my Cadillac representative, ** to report the issue. He stated, “I’m sorry to hear that but that has nothing to do with the work that was done on your car and there are no loaner cars available at the time, you can schedule a loaner car but know this will be a separate issue/charge.” I explained these things were working prior to car repair and please have techs go over their work. It could have been the way they re-assembled things back together that obviously effected something else. My rep ** states to bring it in but understand no dealership responsibility and expect new charges.Upon arrival I ask to speak with the service director, **. He appeared friendly and sympathetic to what had happened to my car but agreed with his rep, **. When I ask ** to speak with someone higher up he declined and stated he is the only one that can assist. I insisted and he left the office briefly and returned with a business card of a manager under him. I was insulted and felt disrespected with the treatment of the team working together against me, the customer. He had me sign papers agreeing to check the vehicle for 130.00 fee. He gave me a loaner car and said, “Have a nice day. We will call you.”I received the call maybe a week and half later with ** asking for permission for a tech to drive my car home to ensure engine light doesn’t come back on. It is determined pass 50 miles, I gave consent. The next week ** called to say they have an estimate for my car. “The radio needs replacing cost $1600.00 because Sirius Radio stated the issue is not on their end, and by the way, while your car was being test driven something pertaining to the brakes collapsed and that will cost you $700, your total bill $2500.00 warranty doesn’t cover nor the dealership. The remainder covers the engine light and lockout issue. Let us know how you would like to proceed.”At this point I felt raped by these unheard-of business practices and called in later in an effort to reach a higher up. I left several messages on ** phone but received no call back. I was passed around the dealership and sent to voicemails with no return calls after leaving a couple messages. Much happened in between that revealed their dishonesty and how they worked together to ensure I didn’t speak with someone in authority to attend to this matter.I picked my car up today 10/3/17 paying 751.00 for the brake collapsed incident that happened while at dealership. Of course, my satellite radio still not functioning due to me declining to pay 1600.00 for a problem that occurred with them working on my car. And my computer system is now out of whack; voice commands no longer working, cd player not working, sound system poor sounding. I could have taken my car to a non-Cadillac qualified mechanic but felt Cadillac was top of line service. I am sick about the condition my car is now in. A couple of similar unethical instances happened to me within the past 2 years but were resolved satisfactorily via escalation so I continued to do business with this location but with this last instance and seeing this is a trend and now their normal practices, it’s clear I need to get the attention of someone who cares about the bottom line of the company. What Im asking for is the dealership take ownership for their work which is the right thing to do -- refund my money for the incident that occurred while they had my car (mechanic took my car home) and put my car back in the condition it arrived in, working satellite radio (which I’m paying monthly services for) and reset or adjust my computer system. Voice commands no longer work. All inside controls and functions were working perfectly prior to the major repair done on my vehicle. The work they performed had nothing to do with these issues but obviously the way they reassembled my vehicle affected these things. They tore my engine down; kept my car 2 1/2 months, something obviously went wrong.Suburban Cadillac is using dealership mechanical lingo and rhetoric to mask what really happened and it is extremely frustrating that they have charged me 3111.00 plus 750.00 within 30-days to return my car to me out of whack and satellite radio not working. The radio is fine but the XM Satellite whom I’m paying monthly subscription is no longer working after car pickup. I filed a complaint with GM website, mailed a letter to corporate and spoke with someone finally at GM Customer Care on 10/17/17. They stated they spoke with Suburban Cadillac and must believe the experts and it’s nothing they can do. She was young and appeared insincere and indifferent to what had happened to me. She spoke very fast as if reading from a script and closed the matter. So now I’m reaching out to Better Business Bureau and the State Attorney General because the dealership has taken my money and left my vehicle with problems and no repair shop wants to go behind their work. Respectfully, Ripped-Off Customer.
Very nice designed car but the radio is a joke. Will not respond to anythin
Very nice designed car but the radio is a joke. Will not respond to anything and the kicker of all of this is there is no available aftermarket radio out so general motors makes another 1200 of you just to have a radio. Guess next car gonna be a Ford. So disappointed...
