2023 Nissan Ariya comes with $44485 price tag 304-mile promised range
Posted On: September 28, 2022
It seems like forever since Nissan first took the covers off the 2023 Ariya—the debut was in mid-2020—but the small electric crossover is close to making its showroom appearance, with Nissan confirming the start of sales this fall. Anyone hoping for Nissan's originally promised starting price of around $40,000 is going to be dissappointed as the 2023 Ariya is priced from $44,485, including a $1,295 destination charge. The price is for a base Ariya Engage grade which comes with a 63-kwh battery that Nissan estimates will deliver about 216 miles of range. Anyone looking for a decent range will have to upgrade to the Ariya Venture+ which starts at $48,485 and comes with an 87-kwh battery and 304 miles of estimated range. EPA-rated figures are yet to be published. 2023 Nissan Ariya There are four more grades further up—Evolve+, Empower+, Premiere, and Platinum—though these won't net buyers a bigger battery. All grades come with standard front-wheel drive and available all-wheel drive, apart from the Premiere which comes exclusively with front-wheel drive, and the Platinum which comes exclusively with all-wheel drive. Front-wheel-drive Ariyas have a single electric motor good for 214 hp while the all-wheel-drive models add a dual-motor powertrain good for 389 hp. The dual-motor powertrain also has torque vectoring. 2023 Nissan Ariya Note, Nissan offered slightly lower pricing on some models for early reservation holders and the automaker will stick to the promise for those customers. The Ariya is designed to target vehicles like the Ford Mustang Mach-E, Tesla Model Y, and Volkswagen ID.4. It's similar in size to those models, featuring a 182.9-inch length and 109.3-inch wheelbase. There are two rows in the cabin, with enough space for five adults. The cabin is also loaded with standard tech. A 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster faces the driver and is joined by a 12.3-inch infotainment screen and color head-up display. The Ariya also features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration, as well as voice activation either via Nissan's own system or Amazon Alexa. 2023 Nissan Ariya The Ariya also comes with several electronic driver-assist features, including handy items like automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, and blind spot and rear cross traffic warning. Available is Nissan's ProPilot 2.0 driver-assist system, which can handle itself in a single lane on highways but requires the driver's attention for road changes or choosing when to pass slower moving vehicles. An automatic parking system is also available. The Ariya rides on Renault Nissan Mitsubishi Alliance's CMF-EV platform for electric cars. The platform will underpin many more models from Nissan as the automaker is targeting 40% of its sales in the U.S. to be EVs by 2030, and a significant portion of the remaining sales to be hybrids.

Buyer beware! If you have purchased a vehicle through Nissan please review your paperwork/contract. Several dealerships have been adjusting the cost of the vehicles with dealer add-ons and making it seem as though these are items you have to sign off on and not options that can be declined. These include (VIN Etch, Paint Protection, Fabric Protection. Portfolio Protection Package, GAP Insurance) and can add thousands (mine was over $5,000.00) to the overall cost to the vehicle and if you are financing you will pay interest on all these add-ons as well. This is an unfair and deceptive trade practice and has fallen under scrutiny of the State Attorney Generals Office as well as the Federal Trade Commission. If this has happened to you please report the dealership to both your States Attorney General and the FTC.You can also file a record of complaint to the DMV as I am having to do because of the above listed as well as now finding out that the salesperson committed fraud by falsifying the loan application. Currently Nissan Corporate is not taking any accountability for the dealerships unscrupulous practices and so by filing a complaint, the more people that do will show that there needs to be repercussions and Nissan Corporate needs to be held responsible as well. We the consumers have the power to say NO MORE! Please be cautious and do research online before your next vehicle purchase and if you are a Nissan owner, take a look at your documents to make sure you werent duped. After looking, you may just find out you were. :(

This is our 2nd Maxima and we have loved the car. The issue we have now is that we bought our 2005 Maxima new and it currently has 117,000 miles. The transmission has to be replaced and we are not at all pleased that the transmission has to be replace for $3,500. Based on the value of the car, this was a hard decision to make. Apparently, many are having the same problem and there should be a recall from you. If you want us to buy again, you had better make this right.

I took my 2008 Nissan Rogue to get new tires. When the tire shop took the old tires off, they discovered that the tire pressure sensors were corroded and loose and couldnt be tightened. Their policy is that they cant replace the tires without replacing the sensors because that would be disabling a safety feature. So, I had them replace the two worst sensors at a cost of $300.00, more than the cost of two tires, and put the new tires on. The other two sensors were corroded also, but they could still be tightened. Upon leaving the store, I went to the Nissan dealer to see if I could get some compensation for this because the car was only 4 years old with 59,000 miles. I was told that I couldnt because the work was done somewhere besides the dealer. I had no choice but to get the work done by the tire shop because they couldnt send the car out the door with the safety feature disabled. Next I went to a Consumer Affairs website and found out that there was a recall on 2008 Nissan Rogues for said tire pressure sensors. The service manager at the Nissan dealer never mentioned this recall. I then called Ken **, the GM at the Nissan dealer, explained the situation and mentioned that I knew about the recall. At this point, he said the recall was VIN specific and that my vehicle was not covered. Obviously, if my vehicle isnt covered, it should be because the problem is the same as the one covered by the recall. Shouldnt I be compensated for the cost of the sensors and have the other two replaced at no cost?

Usually I service on time at toronto dealer where I bought the car at same location. @ 32200+ KM got the engine oil replaces at sainte foy, QC (I was away with family) as advised by my dealer and 2 recalls performed. @33000+ KM came back to dealer (after my tour), asked about brake fluid flush, which is recommended by Nissan but its not done by dealer (dont know why). I gave my consent to replace if required. And for wheel rotation (which is also recommended by Nissan.)When I picked up my car, I feel there is gas pedal delay in the initial acceleration (between 800 and 1800 RPM). On minutely trying to identify, why there is an uneasiness for me to drive, the usual resistance in the gas pedal that is altered, and the pressure I usually put on the pedal has changed, and which started to get annoying. Usually I use 87 octane fuel. This time I filled 91 octane fuel, still the acceleration is identifiable. Usually I drive in ECO mode, which is sluggish. Normal is better and Sports mode is usually quite peppy. After trying all the combination, I realized this the feedback/resistance, may have been altered. Dont know how and why (forgot to mention I had also asked for bronze cleaning on the car). Dealer has failed to understand the point and they keep on telling me about sensors and error codes. What I realized after studying the matter that the sensor and codes will work nice, when the pedal recognizes the press.Concern of mine is the pressure is gas pedal stars identifying the press after a small delay (maybe we are talking about 5~7 millimeters). Why I am concerned: I have to press more gas pedal now to get to my normal driving habit for years/decades; I am quite concerned now if this pedal will have more issues to offer; Since the pedal feedback/resistance spring may have altered, it may happen, that say when in highway, it will get stuck to a position and send incorrectly send sensors of pedal being pressed even after removing feel from pedal. Now I feel little unsafe in this car. More details can be shared on request.

Ive been dealing with the same issue for over a year and a half. Every time I call to see if they have fixed the problem (after they have told me it will be fixed), they havent. I dont understand how a business can run without doing their job. Ive called at least 15 times and have been told every time it will be fixed. Ive even asked for a call back every time; not once have I gotten one back. After a year and a half, NMAC has impacted my credit score. I planned to purchase a home in September 2013 but will not be able to. My quality of life has been diminished severely due to this issue. I have lost sleep thinking about what NMAC has done to my credit and how I will have to pay for NMACs fault for years to come. I can honestly say I have never thought a car purchase would negatively impact my life like this. I can only imagine how many customers Nissan is losing due to NMAC.

Dropped off my 2013 Nissan Versa for the CVT recall. After I left and got onto the 101 freeway my car went from 60 MPH to about 10 right in front of a Big Rig truck. We crawled toward the nearest exit and went back to the dealer. They said it needed a new transmission and would be 4000 dollars. At 51,000 my warranty was up since it had been a few months over 5 years. They said it was still driveable since I didnt have the cash to fork over so we left and almost got hit as the car stopped on La Brea and Fountain. As I was in extreme distress and by the grace of God we were able to pull into an urgent care lot and the ladies said we could park the car there until we got a tow truck. This was the scariest thing that has ever happened to me and now I am unable to go anywhere as I have no car. Nissan... SHAME ON YOU!!!

I filed complaints with Bakersfield Nissan, Dept. of Consumer Affairs and Better Business to no avail. Then I filed the complaint with Nissan. Last February I purchased a 2006 (used) Nissan Murano which had 33,660 on the odometer. I had a hard time getting credit due to a 3-year divorce action, which messed up my credit. Bakersfield Nissan ended up making paper work for three different credit agencies. With this voluminous amount of paper work, I didnt read everything. When I purchased the car, I was not informed there wasnt any warranty on it. I should have been told this and offered an extended warranty. The sales manager tried to tell me it was my responsibility and I told him (cant say it) in no kind words. I worked as Office Manager-Accountant for 4 dealerships back in Rhode Island, one being an AMC-Datsun-Peugeot dealership in Provided operated by the Gabrolowitze brothers back in the late 60s.While going over the car with the salesman I pointed out several items that had to be fixed, including a dent below rear tail light, missing tire caps, dent on rear aluminum panel below trunk, loose visor (drivers side), etc. I told him Id wait; bring it in after a few weeks in case of something else was wrong. When I returned, the salesman wasnt there, so I brought it to repair shop. They gave me a bill for $2,000.00 and I left in a huff. Before a couple weeks I noticed oil leaked on my driveway and thought it was the transmission. I was informed by the service manager that the power steering ($800.00) was leaking and needed to be replaced. The visor cost was $400.00. They were only going to repair the damage at the paint shop. After much complaining, they fixed the visor but that was it. You should have copy of my December 7th letter complaining about all this.I ended up paying $400.00 for something else as the power steering element was okay. Then the alternator went and I had that repaired for another $410.00. I can see that nothing was done to prep this car for sale. I brought it to EZ Lube for an oil change ($40.00); American Tire (4 Michelin tires) at $813.00. I know this would be my obligation, but mileage was only 54,284. To ensure tires would last, I had front end alignment at Pep Boys ($75.00).I told people at Nissan I would never set foot in their establishment again and have not been a good ambassador for Nissan. They kept sending me service reminders. So Id call and told them to remove my name from their customers. I am almost 80 and have had many cars in my life but not a Nissan. In the late 60s I purchased a Datsun, 210Z for my daughter. Most of the vehicles I purchased were Fords. Also, Chevys, VWs and Toyotas.Going back to the contract, when I wasnt offered an extended warranty they charged me $695.00 for GAP insurance which I didnt want. This money could have been used for a warranty. I cancelled it before the 90 days and received a refund. Also, after all the complaints I filed, the sales manager offered me an extended warranty $100.00 over his cost to which I declined and told him it was too late and should have occurred in February when I could have had it included on my contract. I found the salesmans card: Alex **, a Filipino friend of a friend of mine.

I leased a 2013 Altima in June 2013. Car shuddered, had torque converter replaced still shuddered. New transmission still shuddered, another transmission still car shudders. Nissan says they will take car back if I pay usage fee or they will give me money and I keep the lease. I fail to see the benefit to me if youre considering a Nissan. The cvc transmission is to be worried about. Own 2 Nissans at this time and a total of 5 since 2006 but will find a way to unload them. Stand behind your products.

Long story short, CVT recall, had judder issues since 50,000 miles. Took car in several times, Dealership states nothing wrong. Check engine light came on around 99,000 miles. Diagnostic test came back with CVT problem. Code wasnt enough evidence so hundreds of dollars later, needed an extensive diagnostic test. Still wasnt enough for Nissan. I had to record my dashboard of the tachometer jumping with the judder. Sent it in and dealership said more proof was needed because I could have been doing it with the gas pedal. While driving I had to now record both my tachometer and speedometer at the same time. Sent it in and woman at dealership never called me for the status so when I called her a week and a half later (of course one of the Reps relays her message as usual because I can never reach her. She never takes my phone calls or calls me back, she tells her reps that shes busy and gives them a message for me). She stated I needed to call Consumer Affairs to open a case so she could send the video in which I already had a case opened which was how she was able to submit the first set of videos in the first place. Apparently many people have this issue and Nissan should not be in business if this is how they treat their customers. I plan to contact NY State Attorney General and the FTC. I paid a lot of money for this used car and had nothing but problems.

I had bought in May 2014, a brand new 2014 Nissan Sentra and it went bad. It had a major computer problem, factory glue leaking through the headliner, stitching unraveling from the fabric, and black paint coming off the radio console and Nissan bought it back with an intention for me to buy another, called a buy back. And then I bought a brand new 2015 Nissan Altima in Sept 2014 and the transmission went bad at only 5,000 miles, the cotter pin in the axle had to be re-tightened, the radio has static, there is a popping in the Bluetooth, and the speaker lid popped up. There is still static in the radio and there is still popping in the Bluetooth in the Nissan!!!! And Nissan says thats a normal operation. You have to be kidding me!!!I will never buy another Nissan. I dont recommend a Nissan to anyone. It was and is an awful experience. Nissan has stressed me out beyond belief. I had to go back and forth to the Nissan dealerships at least 20 times. Can you imagine two BRAND NEW Nissans going bad within six months? Nissan is not the same brand that it used to be.

I bought my 2012 Verse from Nissan of Edison in February. I start experiencing the engine light coming on after having the car only two (2) months. I read the manual and checked the gas cap, after a week the light went away. December 2013 the engine light came back on and the light have been on more than off since then. The car have put me down on more than three (3) times in the last month going to work. The Nissan service department is the worst. They over talk you. I was told that I should use BP gas only which I thought was outrageous. I have family members and friends with BMWs, Audios, etc. and they use different gas. Im not certain if they think I am stupid or what. I refuse to pay to have the car check or to pay for a gas filter that now the service department say I need. I will tell everyone I know not to buy any brand of Nissan car and most of all their service department stinks and is horrible.

Nissan Rouge with severe problem and poor customer service. I have bought Nissan Rouge #VIN NO: **. I went for the first servicing on 04/20/16. They have done servicing and report states the car doesnt have any issues. I was facing problem with the car while driving around 70-75 miles/hour suddenly brake light was coming on the dashboard. I thought this is a safety issue and reported to Local Nissan Dealer Airport Nissan Cleveland on 5/16/16. They said they couldnt replicate the problem. And after that I have faced the same problem again and reached to the Airport Nissan on 07/06/16. This time with evidence. They have done the servicing and returned my car on 07/09/16, unfortunately one day only I have faced the same issue with that car. I am afraid Nissan has not taken this case seriously enough. Is this normal to happen with every Nissan car? Why this problem is keep on coming after 3 times of servicing. I am totally disappointed with Nissan Customer Service. Now whenever I am trying to press the brake the car is vibrating.

I had a horrible experience in every aspect of my purchase. I had a truck moved from my dealerships lot a few miles away. I asked to wait to view the truck in person BEFORE signing any documents. I was assured that the documents I was signing were related to the loan and extended warranty and I would be able to see the vehicle before signing. I was offered $2000 off by another dealer but it was too late, unknown to me I already signed. I had to purchase bed extender and was supposed to receive 15% off for my VIP package, negative, paid full price. I took my truck in for service and spent over 2 hours watching soap operas for an OIL CHANGE!!! Last straw was my drivers door. The door is not aligned properly. When opening the door falls and causes and overlap with the rear door. It closes with some force. I took to the dealership for repair under warranty. I was leaving town for a few days and had to take a cab to the airport to get a rental. I was called and told my truck was ready. I returned and took another cab ride to pick up my truck. SAME PROBLEM. The dealer did offer me a loaner which was nice BUT upon returning to get my truck a second time... SAME PROBLEM!!! I will likely never buy another Nissan EVER!!! The only reason I purchased this one is that there were limited options. I was driving a 2014 RAM 1500 Crew cab which I loved but I live in the city/suburbs and needed something smaller for daily driving. The only options were Tacoma, Frontier or Colorado. The Frontier won based on size and price. Im now wishing I had paid extra for a better product and service. Ive had nothing but problems from the purchase to service.

I purchased a Nissan Rogue 2015 from Koeppel Nissan, Queens NY. It has been in their service department several times for different issues but the main Issue is a Broken Transmission within 6 months of having this car. I had a Nissan Versa 2012 and traded in for this Rogue 2015 and I really regret have done that. Nissan Koeppel has been really unprofessional with me. I found out that they were claiming repairs for my car when my car was not even near their service department. I think that because my car has been IN so many times, they thought that they could claim repairs any time they wanted even when my car was not around.I tried to get in touch with Nissan Consumer Affairs and asked them for support, but they have done anything for me. So I had to contact the BBB and open a complaint. My car still has issues that hasnt been repaired, make noises, the transmission still has issues, the engine is weak, the MPG is only 15 in the city when is supposed to be at least 28, I feel like Im driving a Non-fuel Economy car, Im having issues with my entry Key, the car wont turn on sometimes and the list goes on... And the fact that this dealer in Queens New York was faking some repairs which I confronted on Sep 18th, and because of that I was asked to leave and never come back because I found out that they were lying about my car repairs, at this point, I dont know if they actually fixed my car when my car was actually in their service department.I dont feel safe with this car, I dont believe that they have done anything to my car and Im really disappointed with the service of Koeppel Nissan and Nissan Consumer Affairs. I believe this Nissan Rogue 2015 is a faulty car!!! And I dont want anyone to go through what Im going through, especially as a single mother. I was able to get a meeting with Nissan North America and BBB this month and hopefully they can replace this car or give me back my Nissan Versa. I will keep you posted!

I just bought a Nissan on April 13th and wanted to inquire about the payoff amount. NMAC informed me that my contract (i.e., purchase date of the vehicle) was March 29th. NMAC then informed me that I have been accruing interest on a vehicle I did not own for two weeks racking up nearly $200 in interest for this timeframe. I was told to contact the dealer to adjust this. Dealer told me to go ** myself speaking with the financing manager. I tried contacting the general manager only to be blown off. Sales manager has been negligent as well. Nissans objective is to sell a vehicle then screw the customer. If I had known this, I would have never bought a Nissan. Now, I am told I am SOL by both the dealer and NMAC. This is flat out fraud. In this economy, customer service is more important than ever. I wonder why Hyundai, a once inferior product, is gaining traction where Nissan is losing traction and value. Nissan and NMAC are prime contributors. We were looking at replacement for the wifes old Mazda and was thinking an Altima. There was no way in ** Id buy another Nissan now.

My CVT transmission was replaced at 70,866 miles by Nissan because of all the problems I was having with it. This car has given me problems since day one. 3 weeks ago, my car left me and my two daughters stranded on side the road out of town when it would not accelerate when we stopped at a red light. After getting my car towed ($355.00) back to the city where I live so that I can get it to the nearest shop, I am now being told that I need to replace the transmission again. I now have 131,000 miles and it is no longer under warranty and they want to charge me almost $5,000 to replace my transmission. That 60,000 miles since my transmission was replaced. So obviously the CVT transmissions need to be replaced every 60-70,000 miles. WHICH IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE. MY FAMILY OR I WILL NEVER BUY NISSAN AGAIN AND I WILL MAKE SURE I MAKE EVERYONE AWARE ON EVERY SOCIAL SITE AVAILABLE and THROUGH WORD OF MOUTH...

I leased a car in July of 2006. I received a property tax bill to pay in January. I got a signed and notarized affidavit stating that this vehicle was used for personal use only and that I did not live in the county where the property tax was being applied. In addition, the county where I purchased the vehicle and also reside does not charge property taxes. The first year was fine. I received another bill the second year and I submitted the same paperwork. NMAC claimed they never received it and that I owed them for taxes. I did not pay for it. The following year, I received another bill. When I submitted the forms again, I was told they could not accept them because I had not paid the previous years taxes. I just recently tried to refinance my home and my credit report is damaged because of this. I have tried calling to clear this mess up and was told rudely that this will not go away until it is paid. I submitted everything the company told me to do exactly and yet, this is still on my credit report. They have been extremely rude and have even hung up on me. I will never lease a vehicle again and I will never deal with Nissan again.

I leased a 2014 Pathfinder May of 2014. My gas mileage was very poor. At 2500 miles, I was averaging 8 to 9 miles to the gallon. The car is rated at 19 city and 25 highway. I mentioned it to the service department and he said I need to get more miles on the engine and that it would improve. Well I dont expect to get 19 mpg but at least 15 to 16 mpg. I now have 11,000 miles on the car and am averaging a big 10.1 to 10.3 city and 12.6 highway. I am not a lead foot driver. I took it to my dealership and they said they would check it out correct any problems they find. After having the car all day, they claim there is nothing wrong with my car. Is 12.6 highway send up a red flag or what. My friend has the exact same car as myself, same model, year, and engine. He averages 15.9 city and 18.2 highway with his a/C on. I mentioned this to my dealer, they said to call Nissan consumer affairs rudely. Well I did, they tried to tell me maybe its the way I drive and look at my book from Nissan to get some tips on how to drive to get better gas mileage. What kind of tips can I get for highway driving? Your foot basically stays in one position driving on the turnpike at 65 to 70 mph. The woman at consumer affairs said to take it to another Nissan dealer for a second opinion and if they find nothing wrong then Im basically stuck with what I have. She also said the gas estimates are just that an estimated mpg. Does 12.6 mpg come even close to the 25 mpg rating of Nissan. If I dont get any solution from Nissan then I will put big lemons on the car with gas mileage I am getting and park it in front of the dealership. Maybe it will get someones attention. Well, thats where I stand at this point.

We purchased a brand new 2015 Nissan Rogue in September of this year and were experiencing radio issues from the day we left the dealer lot. It came in very static sounding and we thought maybe we were just in an area with poor reception. As we continued to drive the problem continued in various areas. The sound is so bad that we dont even use the radio. Were forced to use the free XM subscription that is almost expired or the CD player. We brought our car into the dealer of purchase and they claimed to have fixed the issue but we still had the same problem. Being that the dealer we purchased from was far from our home, we took it to another dealer. It has been back twice since then and they have not been able to fix it saying that Nissan needs to release a software update and until they do that the problem cannot be fixed. We were given Nissans number to follow up with them and today (11/19/15) I received a call with the regional consumer affairs representative pretty much telling me that they dont have a solution. I asked her what the timeframe is and if they would offer any other answer besides others have been complaining of the same issue and theyre working on it but she kept repeating the same thing. No timeframe, no resolution, theyre working on it. I even asked if they would cover the satellite radio until the software update comes out to fix the problem and she said they would not. So now if I want to listen to anything besides a CD, Id have to take out more money to pay for the subscription. I completely understand that this isnt a mechanical or safety issue but when consumers are spending thousands of dollars on a brand new item that is warranted to work in a specific manner and the company is not standing behind their customer service, this is absolutely outrageous. I have never heard of something like this before. I paid for a brand new, fully functioning car and that is not what I received. Nissan should be truly ashamed at themselves for selling products like this and not even offering a resolution in the meantime. Horrible quality control, horrible customer service. I will definitely think twice before purchasing another Nissan specifically due to their poor customer service.

2005 Nissan Xterra, low miles (less than 60,000). Oil in radiator (Listed on mechanics repair summary). Engine replacement cost $6,000. Submitted claim to Nissan as part of Class Action. Received settlement of $190. Should have been obvious that: 1) Engine shouldnt fail at 60,000 miles (Nissan mechanics have told me that engine is bullet-proof), 2) engine oil in radiator indicates some level of engine failure.

Bought this truck about a year ago. Nissan charged me $31000 plus financing and extended warranty up to $45000! Tires were crap. Had to buy new ones @ 40,000K which should have been covered under extended warranty... No tire sensor in the spare tire so if you rotate with the spare your low tire light stays on. Thing rides very uncomfortable... Is it the wheel base or the suspension? Dont know but it feels like there are no shocks at all! Took it in for service lately @ around 60,000 just bought new tires and that service had the wheel alignment package. Anyway there was a problem. My low tire, traction control & 4 X 4 was disabled and the warning lights were on prior to the service about 2 weeks, so I stated the problem on the service order and let them know I was hearing grinding in one of the front wheels and I figured that was the source of the disabled safety features. The service tech said that one of the sensors in the back wheel was damaged and had to be replaced and he somehow determined that we had hit something and damaged it and it was not covered under warranty and wanted $500 for the part, even though it should have been covered under extended warranty! We refused to pay for the part and insisted that we would take it up with the warranty dept. so the tech did not address the original stated problem. He said until we repair the sensor the error code would prevent them from detecting other errors. By this statement I assumed that he obviously did not check out the original stated problem visually either! So he discontinued all other service work till we agreed to pay for the part... so we left... all safety systems disabled. Steaming mad cause the warranty dept was not getting back to us. 2 days later just after Christmas 2013 I rolled the truck into the ditch on an icy back road, injuring myself and my girlfriend and writing-off the truck due to the disabled safety features!

Had key made a remote to open doors. Cost approx $250, including $60 labor. With appointment, took over 2 hours. After going home, realized remote would not open drivers door. Went back to resolve and was told there was an issue with the lock of the drivers door and would cost in excess of $500 to repair. Should have been advised this before leaving with the remote. I was advised they would refund the remote, but not the labor fee. UNHAPPY with the customer service with no satisfaction. I had to go back and spend more of my time to try to rectify a problem that should have been addressed when I left with the remote. Stefan ** told me they are currently going through lots of changes, new computers, new phones, etc. Not my problem. Take care of my situation and refund labor or meet me halfway. Sorry was his response. True, they are SORRY.

I bought a 2016 Nissan Maxima on May 10, 2016. Three weeks later I hit a deer with the car. Three months later I am still waiting to have the car fixed. Apparently the problem has been a wire harness that affected the airbags and seatbelts. Nissan is taking their sweet time getting the wire harnesses to Valley Nissan to start with. Now my insurance adjuster told me that Valley Nissan had gotten the wire harnesses for the car two weeks ago and they have not bothered to put them in yet. I am still waiting on Valley Nissan to fix it. I am still three months later waiting for this car to be fixed and daily I get the normal response that Ill be getting the car the next day but never do. I bought a used Nissan Note automatic just over a year ago. The mileage was 8100. My daughter uses the car to go to and from work. The car now has 12,500 miles on it. I had a gearbox problem and took the car to Nissan authorized dealer. The dealer said that the automatic gearbox needs replacing and it will cost £8545.00. I believe that there must be factory defect since the gearbox should not give problems at 12,500 miles. Nissan is not accepting responsibility. The car is 4 years old. The warranty expired 6 months ago. What can I do? How do I take Nissan to court on the grounds that this is a manufacturing fault?

Nissanconnect services is a joke. Its so difficult to understand what level and what options your vehicle has that the dealership doesnt even know. Nissan navigation is nothing short of pathetic. Its a very painful process to navigate to anywhere!! You cant even enter your home address unless its already in whatever ancient database Nissan is using. Nissan should completely abandon this system and work toward making Android Auto/Apple Carplay work wirelessly. For that matter all vehicle manufacturers should do the same.

I purchased a 2014 Nissan Versa Note at Gladstone Nissan. Navigation system
I purchased a 2014 Nissan Versa Note at Gladstone Nissan. Navigation system has never worked right & I spent 5 weeks taking it back & contacting dealership. They never had service handle my complaints but rather had the salesman troubleshoot to no avail. I no longer had the time to drive there & sit & especially since I did not give good survey results on Nissan survey - have been confronted by dealership employees including GM (Why would Nissan share that information that I was promised was anonymous only to be confronted personally & by phone? Nissan failed to honor their word & placed me in harms way. What was the purpose of the surveys - to punish the consumer who answers honesty?). No interest in resolving multitude of problems Ive had with the dealership, including getting my address correct, providing me with promised paperwork, deceptive practices in including other warranties with contract & being uncooperative in cancelling the contracts (see Edmunds.com consumer reviews - this is their standard). Worse yet, there are 2 recalls already - not even a month old. Nissan Consumer Affairs is a big waste of time & patronizing - they claimed they could not consider more actions because I do not have documented return visits for the car (once again, the dealership at fault) & did not return the car for recall campaigns (I did some 3 weeks prior to CA claim) at a different dealership. They have no course of action intended apparently except to not help the customer - who buys a new car which does not work as promised & identifies problem immediately. The other dealership ordered a replacement navigation system, except that they cant get them in because it is too new a car. So how am I to resolve a problem with a new car which Im stuck with when there is no one in the hierarchy of Nissan NA taking responsibility for their cars, dealerships and customer satisfaction promise? Now the ceiling in the car needs repaired. I would not recommend Nissan because they fail to support their guarantee and do nothing to resolve problems with their dealerships & car defects. I have logged some dozen hours in calls to no avail. I have new car payments on a limited income, poor health & a navigation system I purchased to navigate in a new area to get to many medical appointments/tests. Consequences of buying a Nissan: I have a new car that has a navigation screen that has pop-ups that block all visibility of the map & have expended hours lost, on the side of the road trying to clear it, and deteriorating health as a result. I have spent hours trying to contact third party vendors to cancel non-negotiated contracts & updating my mailing address because of incompetence & unethical designs of dealership. It is helpful to share my plight in social media to warn future buyers to steer away from the Nissan Versa Note, Nissan N.A., Gladstone Nissan, so that my experiences are not repeated.

Over the past 12 years, I have purchased 6 Nissan vehicles, with the last being in May of this year. In all those years, I have never been late on a payment and have sometimes paid my loans off early. Unfortunately, I filed for bankruptcy two years ago, which was granted. The only thing I kept from that was my Nissan vehicle. In May of 2012, I traded my 2006 Pathfinder for a 2012 Rogue and received financing at 1.9% from the dealership in California where I had purchased several other cars. Since then, I have retired from law enforcement and moved my family to Bowling Green, KY. On 11/07/12, we went to the local dealership to look at the new Nissan Pathfinders. At that time, while investigating trading in our recent purchase for a new Pathfinder, I was told NMAC wouldn’t give me a reasonable interest rate again since I was lucky to get the one in May because of my bankruptcy. Having been a loyal customer and having spent the money I have with your corporation, I felt pretty cheap having been treated that way. If Nissan feels like they were doing me a favor for buying their vehicle, I will have to go somewhere else to purchase my next one.

I am so glad I googled Nissan Finance complaints. I am sorry for your experiences but I dont feel so alone now in dealing with the nightmare that is NMAC. Their zero star online payment processing has created payment reversals when there should never have been one, and me not catching the payments not going through. I love (not) their disclaimer that a confirmation number really, really isnt. Whats the point of it then especially after paying online payment processing fee?The final straw has been once again setting up automatic withdrawal, with email notification all was successful, only to find nothing drawn out of account and a late charge applied. I was totally perplexed. I finally figured out why. Going into the bank information, I found a totally different routing number! They refuse to acknowledge it or credit two late payments because of it. Well, Nissan, guess what? I didnt make that second payment because Id rather go trade the car in, taking yet another hit because of previous over 30 notices you wrongfully put on my credit report, and give the money to another car manufacturer, because this is definitely the last time NMAC gets my business!

My dad bought me my first car back in 2016. It was a pre-owned 2012 Versa straight from the dealership with about 60K miles. For the first two years it was great. In fact the best thing this car can offer is the fuel economy. But would I recommend it? NO. The car is extremely light, the doors sound like cheap hollow metal, doesnt even come with sun visor mirrors for Petes sake. You WILL feel unsafe in this car. Fast forward to 90K miles and the car started showing problems accelerating, the air conditioning would blow hot air EVERY 3-4 months (have gotten it fixed about 5 times now). Now that Im on about 103K miles the front dash starts violently rattling when parked, and the worst part, I cannot go faster than 60MPH without the car wobbling side to side and feeling as if the wheels are going to pop off. Since as long as I can remember getting the car it has always has the check engine light on AND the tire pressure light (despite inspecting, rotating and replacing tires, it just comes back on) and the check engine does go away after a service and then lights up immediately after. So, Nissan, IS THERE A RECALL OR WHAT! There have been lawsuits and a class action settlement open for CVT transmission problems, yet when I went TODAY to the dealership they said they dont have an open recall and I would have to pay it all out of pocket then handle it with the company for reimbursement or possibly an offer to get the car back. How about no? I will not be paying $5,000 to then SEE if Nissan will deal with the issue. The car isnt even worth 5 grand!!!

On March 12, 2012, I went to pickup my newly leased Nissan and found out that the plates on the lease car I was turning in could not be transferred to the new car because the registration had been canceled on 12/30/11 without my knowledge or permission. I had to pay for new plates. I called Nissan Motor Acceptance Corp (NMAC) and was told they knew nothing about my registration being canceled nor did my insurance company. After contacting RMV several times, I found out that my registration had been canceled online. They also told me that my plates had been returned. However, my plates were still on my car when I went to the dealership on March 12. How could they have been returned? I have also continued to pay my lease note and insurance on the car during the past three months without any knowledge of registration cancellation. I spoke with the assistant registrar of RMV in Massachusetts today, 3/15/12, and she told me that the IT department at RMV found that it had been canceled via email by a Loida ** from the Tax and Registration Department at NMAC on 12/30/11. This morning I called NMAC and they told me they now have a note regarding my cancellation that was posted on March 13th. However, they previously had no record and knew nothing about the cancellation and told me they have nothing to do with cancellation and to call the RMV. Now, the story has changed. I drove around for three months with a registration certificate in my car, which I didnt even know was invalid or cancelled. What if I had been in a serious accident? I am also required to pay excise taxes in Massachusetts. I received a letter from Nissan in December that they would be including it in my lease bill in the upcoming months as they usually do. I contacted the City of Cambridge, Massachusetts on 3/12/12 and found that they had not received notification to send Nissan a bill from the RMV, which indicated that something occurred like my registration being canceled. Now, I am afraid that this would happen anytime and frequently. I would then have to pay for new registration, new plates and explain and prove to RMV that it’s not me and why its being canceled. This is a major problem for me. I have contacted the governors office, Attorney General, RMV and Nissan looking for help. I need assistance.

Timing chain tensioner guide premature failure. This is a known problem Nissan has with their engines. Timing chain tensioner premature failure. Nissan has a timing chain that requires no maintenance, yet they use a tensioner guide that is not up to par. There is already on lawsuit for similar Nissan cars maybe there should be two. Fontana Nissan quoted me $800-$1900 to replace this $30 part that was made with a poor quality plastic. If it wasnt a quality problem the OEM guide would still be sold instead its a new part and new part number. Ive owned one Nissan Altima before this and currently own a Murano, Cube and Altima in question. $800 - $1900 to replace a $30 part that is poorly designed and no mentions of any maintenance on the part is insane.Does it seriously make sense to have a customers engine removed from the car, have the customer pay $800 - $1900 and not have a car for a week, or take a chance of the guide failing completely, the chain slipping and would destroy the INTERFERENCE engine possibly on the highway for a $30 part that is poorly designed?

About a month ago I noticed the A/C on my Nissan Livina was having issues cooling the cabin and that the temp was not as cold as it used to. I know this because I rarely use the number 3 setting and never use the number 4 fan level of the blower. I had to Despite how high the setting was the air was not as cold as its supposed to be. My wife even noticed that the air was somewhat humid instead of crisp and cool. I figured it just needed cleaning. I was planning to have that done on its next scheduled check up which was only a couple of more weeks.About a week later, I noticed a dark stain on the front passenger carpet. I thought someone must have stepped on an oil stain and accidentally smeared it on the carpet. When I tried to check and see what it was, it was cold to the touch. I immediately removed the carpeting and noticed there was a small pool of water collecting on the floor. I tried to crank up the air conditioner and noticed that water was dripping from under the passenger side dashboard. I tried to look for the leak and had difficulty finding it. Thats when I decided to bring my car to a local A/C shop to have it checked. When I got to shop, I explained what was going on and the repairman assured me that the drainage just needed some cleaning. He said that the procedure was required pumping compressed air through the drainage to clear the blockage. As the repairman was going about the process, he had a difficult time locating the drainage as he was not really familiar with the make of my car. When he finally found where it was, he said that he cant clean it without taking the dash apart. At that point, I became iffy and decided not to push through with the repair, instead, take it to the dealership to get a better assessment of the problem. The following day, I went to Nissan to have it checked. By noon time, I realized my worst fear and they said that the evaporator is leaking and needed to be replaced. They estimated that the repair would entail replacing the evaporator and some other valves. The total damage was about $1,000. The service attendant was kind enough to get me a discount for the parts and labor and got about $100 off. I got my car back the following day and the air conditioner was good as new - it even had a new car smell to it. I love Nissans service and I will not consider looking at any third party repair outfit again. Im going with the professionals, even if the price point is a little bit higher than the rest. Thanks Nissan.

I purchased my new Nissan in 2001. I bought it outright from a dealer in NJ. I have had several major problems with this truck since I purchased it. The first was the gas tank rusting and emitting fumes in the cab. Every time I filled the tank the smell was terrible inside and outside the cab. I contacted Nissan several times and they refuse to do anything at all. This cost over a $1000.00 dollars. A year later my oil pan rusted badly and was ready to fail and I had that replaced. That cost $900.00. My electric blue paint started peeling on the side of the truck for no reason at all and continues peeling. If I choose to have it repainted that will probably be $2000.00. I wont ever purchase another Nissan and I encourage anyone who is thinking of buying one, DONT!! You will be very disappointed. They dont care about their product or customer service. In two words, they suck!!!

Number one, we purchased a new 2013 Nissan Juke from Peltier Nissan in Tyler Texas. The salesman really tried to sell us on the Gold extended warranty program, representing that it would take over when the manufacturers warranty ended, and would cover such things as the motor. They have not been making us aware of all recalls, and in fact, it was my Google research that turned up the timing chain recall, when my wife complained it was making an odd sound. I didnt know there had already been a class action lawsuit filed about this very issue, and presumably, the recall was activated AFTER they were sued. While our vehicle was in for that repair, the drivers seat was ripped by someone there, and they refused to take the responsibility, and were demanding WE pay for the torn seat. I contacted people higher up and we were able to get the seat tear repaired and even though they told us they had to order a new seat cover, after we received the car back, I could see where a repair was made in the seat cover, so it would appear, they were not being completely truthful. Around 70,000 miles or so, my wife, who drives a lot as part of her work, told me that the vehicle was going 70 mph, and suddenly started losing power and depressing the accelerator would not increase the decreasing speed. At the same time, she got a Service Engine light and she called the Peltier NISSAN dealer where she purchased the car. They told her over the phone it would most probably be covered under warranty and they would give her a loaner car. In the next day or so, she was told that the loaner car was now a rental car and she would have to pay for the Turbo, as the extended warranty department was saying the oil was not viscous enough (first tech) and then the second tech said the oil was too viscous (and burned). We had to rent a car from a national chain for a week. Were very much inconvenienced, and had to pay thousands of dollars to get the vehicle back from the dealership. From checking online, there are many other Nissan products that have had the bearings / Turbo to go bad prematurely, and it looks like the techs fall back on the viscosity of the oil problem. An interesting fact was that during repair at Peltier Nissan, when the techs received the new turbo, from the OEM supply place, that turbo was defective right out of the box. We made the representative at Nissan in Tennessee aware of this on the phone with the tech standing right by us, and she didnt seem to care. They were holding the line that somehow, it was OUR fault that THEIR product failed prematurely. It is not known if the bearings they are using are failing prematurely due to metal fatigue or some problem with the metals they are made from, or if there are design flaws in the turbo / engine that are causing these failures. My wife kept proper levels of oil in the car, changed the oil, and they should reimburse us for repairs and the one week rental car expense. Personally, I will make it known to everyone I meet that Nissan and their extended warranty company, are screwing customers, and advise no one to purchase either a Nissan or their GOLD EXTENDED WARRANTY.

My wife just had an accident today, 31 Jan 2012. It was a front end collision with her 2003 Nissan Sentra. She rear ended someone when she was driving 50 mph in a 55 mph zone. The braked car moved 75ft before colliding the driver side front end into the truck in front of her. The truck received little damage; however, her Nissan was crushed in the entire drivers side front half. The airbag did not deploy, and she stated the wheels would not turn to avoid the truck in front when she was braking. I took pictures and a video of the car and the entire scene. The police officer stated it was strange the air bag did not deploy, it should have. We just had her car serviced at the local Nissan dealership a couple months prior. I am wondering why the wheels locked when braking and why the airbag did not deploy. The car is totaled.

It hit 75 degrees today in California and I’m again reminded why I will never buy another Nissan. My AC doesn’t work in my 2014 Nissan Rogue bought new in March 2014 at Dublin Nissan. It hasn’t fully worked since July 2015 when it inexplicably went out in the middle of a road trip in 101 degree weather. My two passengers and I tried to bear it for an hour, but ended up having to pull over for 3 hours to wait til dark to drive home the remaining 2.5 hours. I took the car to Nissan Capitol Expressway two days later where they spent an entire day (and tank of gas) trying to figure out the issue only to come away with no solution. It only seemed to be replicable in 80 degree or above weather and after driving for more than 30 minutes on highways.I knuckled down and made it through the summer, the car had about 18,000 miles at that point and was still in warranty. December 2015 I took the car back to Capitol Nissan for 25k maintenance and had them examine the AC unit again. Another full day of “work” and no solution. The AC continued to work intermittently, I kept up with routine maintenance and always mentioned the AC issues when I was in for service and still under warranty, always at Capitol Nissan. By late spring 2017 the AC had stopped working altogether, no cool air came out at all and the weather was only heating up. In June 2017 I took it to Nissan with 37k miles on it (Nissan warranty stops at 36,000 miles) and had Capitol Nissan spend another whole day working on it.They immediately agreed it wasn’t a functioning unit and spent the whole day with it, by end of day finding a “solution.” This solution was to drain the freon from the system and re-fill, this seemed to solve the problem. I asked the associate why that hadn’t been done before to solve the issue and he said he didn’t know. I then asked how he knew it was fixed and he said he couldn’t guarantee it and re-read me the description of work done like I was a kindergartener who just didn’t understand. He then only charged me for the new AC fluids and “helped” me with the labor cost by charging me $200. I drove away angry and rightfully so as the AC unit stopped working two days later. I called the associate at Capitol Nissan to let them know and never heard back.I then opened a case with Nissan Corporate to have the car declared a lemon as the AC unit will clearly never work. In that call I told them I truly thought this was a one-off case and that until then I had actually liked everything else about my Rogue. I told the representative that if Nissan awarded me the new car I was actually planning on upgrading to the Nissan Murano and would finance that upgrade through them.Nissan Corporate kept my case open for approximately 18 hours only to dismiss it because the car was out of warranty, they offered me one monthly payment ($350) for my troubles. I did not accept this money as it didn’t even begin to cover the amount of time I had spent away from work and the money I had spent fixing this issue. The way Nissan has treated me has made it abundantly clear I will never buy another Nissan and as soon as I am financially able I will be getting rid of this junk Rogue and buying a Toyota.

2013 Nissan Altima, 3.5S VIN#**. Issue: The readout for the heat and AC located on the center dash console constantly will go blank. Everything is still operational but, blindly, due to the screen being blank. Ive had the car in to Grubbs Nissan for this issue several times. On one occasion I drove in as it was going off and on and had a service tech drive around with me. She videoed it on her phone. I was told the part was ordered and almost two months later called in to have it replaced. Within the same week of having it replaced the same issue began again. I drove in and told my service guy who was there but off duty. He went and scheduled an apt for the following Monday but neglected to put down what the issue was so, when I took it in on Monday I also told a different service guy about another issue I was having with the radio. The radio is the only issue they touched. The excuse I get is, Our service department could not get the issue to reproduce. For the full month of December 2014 I recorded date, time, weather when this issue was repeated. I also have a video of it. I leased a Nissan Altima in 2006 and made all lease payments until the lease expired. The dealer that originally took the lease went out of business. I was told to continue payments and complied. In 2012 I was told that the payoff was $3,000. I continued to make the payments until that amount and more was reached. I have now been told that I still have to make the payments even though the total payoff has been made. All I want is my title so that the vehicle can be sold. Tonight I find myself online drafting a lawsuit against Nissan because they are still trying to charge me for the vehicle even though I have held up my end of the deal. Somehow they feel that because the dealer went out of business, I am obligated to pay indefinitely for this vehicle. Consumer Affairs at Nissan has been of no use. There is obviously no oversight at this company.

I have continued problems with my 2009 Altima which I have not exceed 110,000 miles. Speaking with your dealer service department they want to charge $120.00 to run a test and find out if the problem with the transmission is still under warranty. Which to me is confusing if your consumer affairs say the CVT is under warranty until 2019 or 120,000 miles I have not exceed either. Ive never had a car with this amount of issues even when I was buying used cars. I never owned a Nissan and with the experience Im having and the issue Ive had in the past I will never purchase or own one again. Several of my friends who drive or have driven Nissan products have had bad experiences as well.

I bought a 2014 Nissan versa note from dealership on June 9th 2014. I signed the contract and took it home that day. A week later I took in my down payment and signed another contract to reflect that. A week later I get a letter from dealership saying my loan was not approved and I needed to return the car within 48 hours. I called the finance office and was told they were working on it and would call me the next day. The next day I received a phone call saying they got my loan approved and I would have to come in and sign a new contract...which I did on June 30th. From June 30th to august 28th I was waiting for title, plates, payment info etc. from the bank. I never got those things. Instead, the dealership came out in the wee hours of the morning and took the car. Apparently because my loan was not approved. I have contacted legal counsel and will fight this.

I have a Nissan Rogue 2013, took it to a dealer in Surrey at 96000 kms because the transmission seemed to be slipping, the service manager took it for a test drive. After coming back about 5 minutes later he told me the transmission was fine and I should just change the transmission oil. I did this and at 113,000 kms the transmission packed it in driving in downtown Vancouver with my daughter in my car. The top speed now reduce to 15 kms an hour. I managed to limp into a parking stall and got the car towed back the dealer. The dealer and the complaint department at Nissan are now telling me, “Too bad for you, this is out of warranty,” which it is! So I am now on the hook for a $4200.00 bill to get it replaced with no goodwill from Nissan or the dealer on a vehicle I bought new off the lot 4 years ago. I know they have had issues in the past with the CVT transmission so you think they might try to help out, I would never buy a Nissan product after this!

The fan blade assembly on my 2013 Pathfinder started making a terrible noise. I took it to the Nissan dealer and they confirmed I needed a new assembly. They also stated this was a known issue and they were seeing a lot of these. Part was back-ordered. This cost me a total of $800. The day I was picking up my car, another Nissan was in for the same repair! I requested that Nissan Consumer Affairs look into this and consider covering the cost since it was a known issue. The rep, Rod stated that although it was something Nissan was aware of, they would not cover it because my car was out of warranty by 16,000 miles on the extended warranty. How poor to not cover your defective part and a known issue and hide behind the mileage. Do not purchase a Nissan - they dont stand behind their vehicles!

I have had my Leaf for just under 2 years and 10 months. It has a key-FOB for keyless starting system (push button start) and to lock/unlock the doors. My car did not recognize either of my keys yesterday while I was about 5 miles from home. I walked home and called service, and I was told that either the battery was dead or that the car needed to be reprogrammed to recognize the FOB. I could unlock the door with a real key, but there was no way to start the car without the FOB. Not only was there no back-up method to start the vehicle, I was told I had to bring the key-FOB to the dealer to have the battery replaced; I could not just change it myself. I found this hard to believe. After getting the car to Nissan service, it was determined that the key-and-car needed to be reprogrammed to recognize each other and that this was not something that was covered under warranty. I called Nissan Consumer Affairs and I was told that warranties cover something wrong with the car not the key. If the car doesnt recognize the key, and needs to be reprogrammed, how is this not a problem with the car? Also, certainly there should be a back up to start a keyless car. Also, customers should be able to replace batteries in their FOBs.

I have a leaking sending unit on my 2015 Nissan Sentra. I opened a case report with Nissan Corporation 2 weeks ago, Sept 1, but have not received a call back from Nissan during normal business hours despite 6 calls Ive made to the Nissan Customer Representative over the past 2 weeks. Nissan has a recall for the same problem -- on the 2015 Altima and 2015 Maxima -- an improperly installed ring on the sending unit, resulting in leaking fuel. I cannot get any assistance from Nissan as of today, August 12.Additionally Nissan sent me a letter earlier this year (the letter of course is not dated but I received it this past spring 2019) advising that I might have a complete blockage..in the EVAP tube located between the fuel tank and the evaporative emission canister. While this is different from the problem of the leaking sending unit, it illustrates that Nissan clearly has multiple problems with defective fuel pump assembly parts and/or improperly installed fuel pump assembly parts.

I also like the moon roof and navigation system and love the fact that it shows the air in my tires. However, I wish my car has a bigger screen for navigation and a better camera. My brand new car (Nissan Sunny XL petrol), right after the second free service, the car started having problem like heating up of the engine and frequent shutdowns. When checked with the service center, it assured me nothing was wrong with the vehicle and in a perfect condition. I, with my little daughter, drove the car to our relatives next day. On the way, it broke down again while passing a dangerous valley. It stopped more than 20 times during the travel of 200km. When I contacted the service station in charge, he said that he cannot do anything. When asked what should be done next, his answer was, HE DOESNT KNOW ANYTHING.I then called Nissan Call Center. With much effort and persuasion, they connected me to the local technician who, after inspection, declared that the problem occurred because of the FAULTY FUEL PUMP and DUPLICATE COOLANT, which the service center used. More than 15 days has passed and in spite of sending a number of mails, no action has been taken until date.

Two weeks prior to my lease maturity date, I called Nissan to set up my end-of-lease inspection. After 4 phone calls, I was told they use a third party to inspect the vehicles (easy way to avoid blame). Upon calling the third party to set up the inspection, I was told they could not have a representative in my area (suburban Phoenix) for 17 days, which was 3 days after my lease was up. I continued to call Nissan and was assured I would suffer no penalty payments and there was a 10-day grace period. I turned in my car the day my inspection was completed and it was in great shape aside from one dent the size of a nickel.10 weeks later, I received a bill in the mail for $1,200. $400 in damage from a dent in the front, which I agreed to pay, and also the $395 disposition fee, which I agreed to pay. However, I was also charged $398 for an additional months lease payment and $20 in penalty fees. When I called the Nissan Finance representative, they told me the dealership did not report my car being turned in for another 21 days after I had dropped it off. Having scheduled the appointment online and being quoted approximately $89 (with their oil and oil filter), after calling and verifying that I could purchase my own oil and oil filter, I emailed the person who sent me a confirmation of my scheduled appointment asking that a note be made that I will purchasing my own oil and oil filter approximately 5 days prior to my scheduled appointment. I arrive for my scheduled appointment and check in with the representative at the service desk and inform him that the oil purchased and oil filter for this appointment are on the floor on the passenger side. He informs me that the price of the oil change will cost approximately $15 plus tax. I inform him that I am aware as I had previously called and that I would also like to have the old oil filter returned to me. His response was, Ok whatever you say. Although I did not inform him of why I wanted the old oil filter returned, the purpose in my doing so was to ensure that it was indeed replaced. I handed the representative my keys only for him to return approximately 10 minutes later informing me that he was just told that Lancaster Nissan does not perform oil changes unless the customer uses their oil and oil filter. This was puzzling as I previously called to inquire if it was possible and received a quote, and also upon checking in, the representative quoted me a price with me having brought in my own oil and oil filter as well. He indicated that the owner just informed him of this. I asked to speak with the owner whose business card reads General Manager, and he indicated that this is their policy. I asked the owner to see the policy in writing and he informed me that they do not have it in writing as they have never had this type of issue. I asked the owner how it was that I called to inquire of the practice, emailed a representative who sent me confirmation of my appointment, and was also quoted a price at check in upon informing the representative where the oil and oil filter was, that now, all of a sudden it is a policy that cannot be produced in writing. His response was that they have never had this issue arise which is very hard to believe, being that Lancaster Nissan Dealership/Services Center has been in Lancaster for many years. The purpose of this review is to make woman aware of this poor service provided by Lancaster Nissan Services Center, in Pennsylvania and the false representations of their alleged policy which the owner could not produce in person. Although I have a copy of the service agreement I was asked to sign to verify the services I requested which note that I purchase my own oil and oil filter, I am unable to attach it as I am not savvy with technology. However, I am willing to take a picture and email it or mail a copy if requested.

In 2011, I purchased a 2011 Versa. After driving it for a few months, the new model came out with a different body style. I traded my 2011 model for a 2012. I purchased an extended maintenance warranty on the 2011, received a refund for it and purchased another maintenance warranty for the 2012 Versa. After a few months in February 2012, I totaled the 2012 Versa and requested to have the remainder of the maintenance warranty returned to me. I went to dealership and completed all of the required paperwork and turned it in to my salesman (the guy in the finance office was busy). I was told that the money would be mailed to my house within 4-6 weeks. After 2 months (in May 2012), I called dealership to let them know that I had not received my refund and was told they would look into it. Every month from then until now, I have called the dealership and still nothing has happened. I am being given the runaround by the finance manager and the accounting manager. I will never purchase another Nissan in my life.

I just replaced a transmission on a 2008 Nissan Rogue with only 133,608 miles on it. This car had a grinding noise in the transmission initially. It was a widely known problem (Check the NICO Club Rogue Forum). Nissan released a software patch in 2009 which resolved the issue. I got the update shortly after it was released on 11/30/09.On 10/20/14 my transmission failed, without warning, in four lanes of highway traffic. The car lost forward momentum and it was a miracle my wife and I were not killed getting the car off the freeway. We were towed to a dealership nearby and they informed me the transmission was dead and would have to be replaced. I paid $1000.00 out of pocket for replacement. The dealership said they got me help from Nissan who covered $3000.00. I requested reimbursement from Nissan of my $1000.00 and was denied. They basically said they had done enough. When I asked if they had actually paid the dealership $3000.00 the rep said that was proprietary information. Sound shady? Yep! I will never - EVER - buy a Nissan product again and I will never own a CVT again. Buyer beware!!

Nissan is, by far, one of the worst companies in terms of customer satisfaction. You can clearly see it from all negative reviews. Nissan is pretty much done with you once they were able to secure your money. Please stay away from Nissan with a clear margin. Ive bought my car 4 years ago and I take my car to the certified dealer (Royal Moore Nissan Hillsboro) couple of times a year for regular maintenance and any major work needed. I was hoping that my car would last, as long as a certified technician touches it. Obviously, I was too naive. I took my car to another dealer (CARR Nissan). They told me that my car has not been touched for years. This is only 1 month after my visit to the Royal Moore with full service.Ive complained to the Nissan consumer department. Their answer was that they cannot do anything about it and that I need to close with the dealer. The dealer is certified by Nissan but Nissan cannot guarantee the best service. The dealer obviously does not care about the customer satisfaction. That is why I sought help from corporate Nissan. For me, this is not how you treat a customer if he/she is willing to spend ~20K on your car.

Three months after we bought our Nissan Versa, we got a call from a very snotty representative informing us that they had given us the incorrect title for our car and wanting us to bring it back (an hour and a half drive one way) so they could straighten it out. The fuel mileage was grossly misrepresented on the vehicle. The sticker said it was supposed to get 38 mpg, and I only get 30 at most - all highway driving by the way.The warranty is worthless - a piece of trim flew off the car roughly 5 months after we bought the car, and shortly thereafter, the plastic fog lens replacement piece fell off. The local dealership gave the run-around, canceling two appointments because they didnt want to have to waste their time with us. Just recently (33,000 miles), we realized that the tires needed to be replaced. We called the dealership where we had originally bought the car and were told that unless we had detailed records showing we had done the rotations exactly per their schedule, we were out of luck. The warranty was supposed to be 3 years/36,000 miles bumper to bumper. What a crock! We were told at the Nationally Recognized Chain store we took it to, that Nissan purposely toes-in the tires on their small cars to make the car seem to handle better than it really does. They had badly over-toed the tires on this car, hence the exxagerrated baldness on the tires.

I bought a brand new 2014 Nissan Sentra in 2014. Right off the lot with a brand new 2014 Murano to go with it. Well 20k miles later the gears arent shifting. My fiancé drives it less than a mile to work and back Mon-Fri and thats all. We drive the Murano more than anything. My mind is blown that I am being told that it needs a new transmission. SERIOUSLY not even 4 years of driving it and just hitting 20k and I basically need a whole new car. I still owe $15k on top of it all. Man they really saw us coming. Walked in ready to give birth wanting 2 fresh new safe vehicles for our baby and thats what we are sold. I will never recommend Nissan to anyone I know. I tell everyone the worst of it to make sure they arent being taken advantage of either. I am sickened by this dealership and anyone who has the heart to sell an unsafe vehicle to anyone walking through their doors. Reason of review: Damaged or defective. Monetary Loss: $15000. Preferred solution: Price reduction.

I bought a Nissan about 5 months ago. They were ready and willing to help me in a car. They went out and brought the Nissan to show me. About 3 or 4 months ago the car had places on the hood and trunk of the car. I took the car to the Nissan place in Greer S.C. They looked at it said rocks from the road did this. Well dont you think I would have felt and seen when the rocks would have hit my car? As big as the places are, they would not help me! But if I was going to buy a car they would have been all over me! I took it to a man that paints cars. They said take it to Nissan where I bought it that it was in the paint! They tried to say it was rocks that did it. The man that looked at it picked at it and made it worst.I told him I wish he would stop doing that he was making it worst! Thats when he said he couldnt help me! That paint guy could have charged me to paint the car, but he was honest to tell me that! Somebody told me I could make that man pay for the damage he done to my car picking at it the way he did! I love the way the car rides now but Im afraid it might fall apart any time. Wish I had never bought the car from Nissan. Im very very unhappy with those people and the car the way it looks! I cant afford to trade the car or I would, but not with them! My husband died in Dec and its hard on me to change cars right now. They got all my money!

I like the computer system that lets you know when it is service time. I also like the alert system, the stereo system, back up camera, systems for telephones, the windshield service, the mobility of the seats, steering volume to be adjusted when needed, the way the seat adjust to help with visibility, the built in coasters for handling drinks, and all the compartments that hold important papers. I also like the way my plan is set up, the mileage that I get, the attitudes for the workers that is provided when servicing the car and the service that they supply. However, I dislike the way the system is set up for more payment when something breaks on the car, having to put more warranty on the car and the warranty that comes with the brand new cars, and the price of the tires. But still, I love the car.

I hate my 2007 nissan sentra so much. It started with transmission problems. I had to get a new transmission for which they paid for. Second the axle broke in front. How can an axle break after only 50,000 miles. The dealer accused me of hitting someone. The front in of the car was not damaged. I DID not hit anyone. They would not cover this. My car constantly makes a loud wailing noise. This was all within a year of buying the car. Would never buy a nissan again!!!

I purchased a Nissan Rogue in 2014. I absolutely loved my Rogue. Until one day I was driving and the rpms revved up and then started slowing down. My husband had to come follow me home so I didnt get slammed. My Rogue only had 90,000 miles. I called Nissan and was told, Oh you are out of warranty, sorry cant help you. I lost my job and then the bank took my vehicle. It has destroyed me financially. I was told that until people die because of these bad transmissions Nissan will never do anything about it. I will never be able to buy a car again because of this. I am 58 and always had good credit until now.

I bought my 2015 Versa - not happy. They screw me with warranties and the car is just the basic. When I fought them to cancel them I still owed a lot for this car. Not worth it... so dont buy this car... Then I got hit from the back and front within 4 month of getting my car so I decided to take in the dealer collision shop here in Katy TX Mossy Nissan. I had a bad experience. They did not do a good job. Never take your car in this shop. Everything was bad. For them to be a dealer they should have better bodyman and painters. How we found out? I got hit again so they had to take the bumper off and found the bumper had glue to hold it on. What kind of ** was that so people please check the work. I will never take it in the dealer or buy another Nissan cars. And the people there are so rude. When they did the problem they dont want to talk to you, so dont go to Mossy Nissan Collision in Katy TX. They do poor quality work. They need to fire all who do ** work. I bought this 2015 Nissan Altima Feb. 27th, 2015. It had defects on exterior, signal lamp loose, dashboard bad. 2 weeks later the sway bar fell from underneath. I duct taped it up. Called Reidsville Nissan. Corrected. Now after 1700 miles and 3 months later the radiator went out. New one installed by Nissan store. They drove it and called me. Said it needed a new motor. Really, after 1700 miles. Called consumer affairs and after 2 weeks they said Nissan would not buy back or substitute for collateral. Very unhappy with this decision and have had an account with Nissan 4 years. I feel as if a substitute for collateral would have been good. Now I will be trying to trade for a car. I do feel safe in today. Today I go pick up my new motor Nissan and not happy at all.

I’ve been a loyal Nissan customer nearly 20 years and always had my cars serviced at Nissan dealerships. Most recent bad experience with dealership, car was leaking fluid underneath. I was told it needed new rack and pinion so I told them to do the work. I paid $1,300. I always insisted on new genuine Nissan parts. The dealership replaced with used (re-manufactured), non-Nissan parts (but never told me) and it failed less than 2 months later. The dealership admitted they never got my authorization for used parts but wouldnt do more than just replace it again. How can I trust them now? I called Nisan Consumer Affairs for refund and replacement at no cost to me. I was told they couldnt offer me anything but the repair because my car is too old and out of warranty too long. Also, they told me they are under no obligation to use new genuine Nissan parts to even tell me. Seriously? The dealership is guilty of fraud and they cant do anything to make a 20 year customer happy? Unbelievable. Thats what loyalty gets you, crap. Save yourself the aggravation. Dont buy Nissan.

I have purchased 3 new Nissans and financed exclusively through NMAC (Nissan Motor Acceptance Corporation). On one occasion, NMAC indicated that I was 30 days late on a payment. I had never been late on any of my other NMAC loans and explained that my check was mailed on-time like all the other payments. The credit department made it clear that there was no forgiveness for being late and never once gave me any benefit of the doubt. My opinion is it doesnt matter if you have never been late and its all about the money to them. If they give you bad marks on your credit (which last for 7 years), then the next time you finance via NMAC, they can charge you higher interest rates. Its a scam, so please be extra careful. Check and double-check any payment you make. Dont assume that NMAC is on your side. Hell, Nationwide is not even on your side, but Ill post that bad experience in another article. So it has been 6 years and 6 months, and the bad credit mark from NMAC should be dropped off at 7 years. I am in the market to buy a new car again, so I called their customer no-service department to see if they would give me a courtesy pass and remove the bad mark that they reported on my credit report. They created a case number, asked me to call back in 48 hours, and turned me down again. I will never buy another Nissan again. Note to the world, you can dispute an item on each of your credit reports (Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion); and if NMAC doesnt respond within 30 days, by law, the item must be removed. The only way to teach Nissan and NMAC a lesson is to buy with one of their competitors. Also, if you happen to know someone or have the ability to get a message to Nissan headquarters in Japan, tell them that NMAC doesnt represent the company well. Tell them NMAC doesnt take into consideration your payment history before hurting their loyal customer base. That loyal customer base is certainly thinning out.

I received a call today from a collection agency claiming that I owe $614.20 due to charges for excessive wear and tear on a Nissan that I returned 9 months ago. Mind you, the Maxima that I returned was in mint condition and I leased another Nissan, this time an Altima. I called NMAC today and they claim to have sent me a statement which I never received. That statement was allegedly sent 4 weeks after I returned one vehicle to lease another. The only other correspondence that was made regarding these fraudulent charges was 8 months later from a collection agency!!!! I spoke with about 6 different representatives from NMAC today and received so many contradictory pieces of information. Id like to point out that when the finance manager mistakenly set up my automatic payments for 20 months on my original Nissan for a 36-month lease and the automatic payment ran out, NMAC was quick to call when they didnt receive their payment. I was told today that I wasnt contacted about the most recent charge because it was end of term and NMAC doesnt bother, we just send out one bill and then turn it over to collections.... Really???? This is how they treat current customers? Had I gotten some correspondence and been made aware that I was being unfairly charged for excessive wear and tear attributed to scratches on the rims, I would have at least had some method of recourse. I cannot wait until I make my twelfth payment on this Altima so that I can hopefully buy myself out of this Altima and sever all ties with Nissan and NMAC. This has been the single worst customer service experience of my life!!!! Cant wait to tell Nissan to shove it!!!!!

Nissan consumer affairs is a JOKE! Purchased a used 2011 Nissan Murano convertible from a Chevy dealer. Before the purchase though I made an appointment and brought the car to the local Nissan to have a pre-purchase inspection done from dealership the car was orig sold and maintained from. Got the thumbs up. I asked if there were any major issues. Was told no. Asked if I could get a print out of all services completed and was told I could not have that but the service tech read to me minor repairs that were done. So I purchased the car. 2 months into owning the vehicle the convertible top stops working... Come to find out the top on this vehicle had already been replaced at 12k miles and was brought in several times for complaints with the convertible top not opening properly. Now we have a car that the top DOES NOT WORK and they say it will cost $17,000.00 in parts to repair... This does NOT include labor. Nissan doesnt feel they are responsible for this repair. How can you expect a consumer to spend SEVENTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS + labor to repair a car worth 24K when it is clearly a known issue with this vehicle? We even found a bulletin Nissan published stating known issues with the top. This is the most unbelievable thing I have ever come across. NISSAN was my very first vehicle. Ive always thought they were great vehicles. I will never EVER purchase or recommend to ANYONE to ever buy a Nissan. We will be wrapping the car as a lemon and serving free lemonade out of it. DO NOT PURCHASE NISSAN.

Been taking my Nissan 07 Pathfinder with 47,000 miles to the dealership for maintenance since I leased then bought it. Over two to three years Ive been reporting a sound coming from the car as I accelerated up to 25 then again at 40 mph. This problem was never resolved because it came and went and it almost never surfaced when I would bring the car in for maintenance. They would tell me its the heat shields and tighten them but the noise would return. I had scheduled a 45,000 mile maintenance and on the way to the dealership my engine began to rumble then the service engine light came on where. I was told by the adviser that a coil and a platinum spark plug needed to be replaced to fix the engine misfire. I was given a loaner and they worked on my car for two days. I got my car back and everything seemed fine, the engine light was off, car was smooth. A little more than a week later after I dropped off my wife at work, the engine started to act up and rumble and engine light came on again. I was not far from the dealership so I decided take it in. All of a sudden, halfway to the dealership, I cannot drive past 25 mph and the car starts to make the noise its been making when I accelerated to 25 and 40 mph, the same noise Ive been complaining about for about 3 yrs and now its amplified. I told the service adviser about the incident and told it could possibly be the catalytic converter which is covered under warranty until 2015 by federal emissions law so it would be no cost to me to be replaced. I needed to go to work so again I was given a loaner and the job took two days. I received a call from Nissan and was told that the catalytic was very clogged and parts broke off damaging the engine and it was going to cost $6,600 or more to rebuild or replace the engine. My warranty inconveniently expired three months ago. How can this happen to a car with low miles and with an excellent maintenance record? Shouldnt Nissan be responsible?

I purchased my Night Armor colored Frontier new in 2011. It wasnt until after my paint began to flake off the front fender wells, that I researched online and found this to be a long standing problem with Nissan Frontiers. I expected the paint to fade and lose its luster over time but to have the paint just completely flake off is something I wasnt prepared for. The exterior of my truck was detailed on a regular basis that consisted of washing, clay bar, sealant and waxing and yet my paint is flaking off, along with rust in the water channels on the roof. This without a doubt is a manufacturers defect in the paint process or the paint itself that Nissan refuses to acknowledge. Toyota has a similar issue on some of their vehicles but they have gone as far as extending the paint warranty to 14 yrs for all of its customers, kudos Toyota. There is no indication that the problem has been resolved on the 2022 Frontier model... BUYER BEWARE. This is a clear indication why they are losing market share... Nissan has lost me as a repeat customer!!!
