2023 Lexus IS Unveiled With New Special Appearance Package

Following a major makeover in 2021, the Lexus IS was much better equipped to battle the competition. But with a facelifted BMW 3 Series and new Mercedes C-Class on the scene, Lexus can't be left behind. As such, Lexus has updated the IS for 2023 with additional standard features and more options than before. And, there's a new limited edition variant of the range-topping IS 500.
It seems Lexus has forgotten about the 300 derivatives, as most of the changes pertain to the performance-minded 350 F Sport and IS 500 models.
Starting at the lower end of things, the IS 350 is available in either RWD or AWD with the V6-powered model offered in a new F Sport Design trim. 19-inch wheels and F Sport exterior bits such as sportier bumpers, a rear lip spoiler, revised grille, and badging form part of the look. New options will also be added to the mix. The Handling Package introduces Adaptive Variable Suspension and a Drive Mode Select with Sport S/S+ and Custom settings. Rear-wheel drive models also receive a Torsen limited-slip rear differential. Buyers can add slick-looking 19-inch BBS forged wheels painted in Matte Black.
Additionally, the 350 F Sport will be made available with a new Special Appearance Package. This pairs an exclusive Incognito paint finish with an Obsidian black hood and roof. The looks are finished off with 19-inch Enkei wheels. These will be highly limited, however, as Lexus plans on making 480 examples. Expect it to hit dealership floors this fall.
Power remains unchanged; the V6 produces 311 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque. RWD models use an eight-speed automatic, while AWD variants receive a six-speed auto 'box. Moving on to the IS 500, new 19-inch Enkei wheels are standard fitment for 2023. The popularity of the IS 500 Launch Edition has motivated Lexus to keep the 19-inch Matte Black BBS forged wheels as an option, for the F Sport Performance models.
The Special Appearance Package will be made available for the IS 500 too, albeit with some changes. The V8-powered model receives Molten Pearl paintwork, complemented by the BBS wheels. The package also includes color-matched floor-trimmed mats and key gloves. Even fewer models will be made (just 150) and, like the 350, will go on sale this fall.
Again, the rumbly 5.0-liter V8 hasn't been fettled with. As a reminder, power is pegged at 472 hp and 395 lb-ft, sent to the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission. For some reason, the regular IS 300 twins haven't received any changes for the new model year. Still, we can discuss the generous standard features. The front seats are power-adjustable (10-way for the driver, eight-way for the passenger), and there's dual-zone climate control and NuLuxe (synthetic leather) upholstery.
The rear-wheel-drive model receives a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with 241 hp and 258 lb-ft, while the AWD model gets the 3.5-liter V6 with 260 hp and 236 lb-ft. It's a shame the lesser variants didn't get an update, as it's much needed.
Pricing is as follows: IS 300 ($39,435), IS 350 F Sport Design, ($42,510), and IS 350 F Sport ($43,760). All-wheel drive models command a $2,000 premium. The 500 F Sport carries a $57,120 price tag, while the Premium derivative is $61,620. The figures quoted here don't include the $1,150 delivery fee.

There were three different models to choose from for this particular make. We decided to go with the second best model because it included the options that we wanted. The exterior is sleek with sharp lines and soft contours. The interior is also sleek. I like the sound system and the navigation system. With our particular model, we decided that we wanted to upgrade a couple of options, particularly the sound and navigation systems. We also decided on the premier leather seats. In addition, we are able to comfortably seat five adults. The capacity was one of our major concerns when purchasing a new car. This model definitely fits our needs.
We purchased a 2011 Lexus RX 350 in April of 2013. Shortly after we noticed rat droppings inside the car. Every day there was more. We put a mouse trap inside the back hatch and we caught one. In a few days we noticed more droppings and set the trap again. We caught another one. Then, we caught 2 more. Called Lexus in California, they told us to contact the local dealer in Birmingham, AL. We did and he told us they had the Lexus coming in all the time with mice. He said there was no way to keep them out, they were coming in from the bottom. We carried it to a friends tire service and put it up on the rack. There was no place for them to get in under there. With further searching, we found that the rats were building a nest in the fresh air filter. This past week, more droppings, set traps again, caught 2 more mice. We have had 4 Ford Explorers, 3 Chevrolet SUV, numerous other vehicles, trucks galore. We had 5 sons that had vehicles and none of the above or childrens had mice. That is a total of 6 mice caught in this car since May. This seems petty compared to what the previous comments were. It would really be terrible if the mice chewed the leather seats or some of the wiring. It would really be bad if one ran up our leg.
I currently own a 2013 GS. Initially, customer service was great until I had an issue with what should have been a routine fix. The problem is consistent throughout the lineup with the speaker performance. The door speakers are outperformed by the center channel and satellite speakers. The problem wasnt necessarily the manufacturer defect, but the treatment by the service staff. Im surprised a class action lawsuit hasnt taken place against Lexus for refusing to honor items covered under warranty or acknowledgement of the problem. To sum it up, the ten speaker layout in the 2013 Lexus GS 350 has a defect in the system. The voice coil in the door speakers malfunctions causing feedback to the channel. Today, I make my stand and refuse to be insulted by Lexus any more. Pursuit of perfection? Please adopt a new slogan. This is a brand I will never affiliate myself with, and yes never really means never.
I was looking for a nice sedan, and all the options available really blew me away. Very glad that I had decided to go with Acura over other options that were out there. A major selling point for me was the quality and sturdiness of the power windows. I was looking for something that will last me and not cost an arm and a leg when they break down so frequently. Ive had motors for windows go bad in several of my previous cars, so it was a must to find a brand with quality power windows. The windows work really well. The car is mainly for myself so I could really care less about the space, but if I do ever have passengers, Im pretty certain they will be very comfortable and that is awesome. I believe I will be staying with Acura the next time I am shopping for a vehicle.
Every statistic and fact out there indicates that service gives any company a competitive advantage, and the lack of it can be the demise of the business. When did money become first over the customer? When did customer service get so bad? I didnt expect this from Lexus. Especially since Lexus takes proud in their service and their name. I called customer service because I was told to by the service manager at my local dealership. Only with the intention of them helping me with a solution to my problem. My SD card slot cover is missing. Unfortunately for me Lexus doesnt sale this part individually. You have to buy a new stereo which cost $2389.00. After a few days I was told by my case manager that they find a way to help me and the dealership would be contacting me. A few minutes later she called back and said that she was told to advise me to go to a pick and pull and remove the part from a damaged car. I was truly upset and belittled at this point. So I asked for a Supervisor. The Supervisor called me back and welcomed me to the Lexus family and asked me how she could help. I explained to her what happened and she explained that the part wouldnt be covered under warranty. She called back and stated she talk to the service manager at the dealership and since I bought a used I was responsible for the missing part. Ok, thats exactly what you told me yesterday. I told her I wanted to know who advised me to go to pick and pull. She was more focused on my car being used then helping me. My car is still under warranty. Its still a Lexus what does it matter if its use? When I asked her for the service managers name she couldnt even tell me who she talked to. Which tells me she didnt look into anything. I called the dealership and the service manager said they would never recommend anyone to pick and pull. I truly believe that the service manager didnt his best to help me. I called the exclusive office to see if they could explain to me who advised me to go to pick and pull. Days later I finally got a callback. I was told that it wasnt nothing in the notes that stated that I was advised that. I asked if the calls are recorded if it could be pull for review. No call was recorded she said. How funny is that? So did I just make this all help?? Again no help!! The people that I talked to have Very Poor Customer service skills and are in need of a lot of training. I never got an apology for being told that the dealership would replace the missing part by mistake. Whats the point of having a customer service department if they cant help the customer but only make things worse. Customers want an easy experience. No hassle and no friction. Customers want to deal with knowledgeable professional people. Customers want a friendly experience. People want to be treated like people. After all, they are people – not account numbers. Use customers’ names whenever possible. Look for opportunities to build rapport and break the ice. Show that you care. That’s what friendly people (and businesses) do. Unfortunately you wont get this from Lexus.
Lovely company. They really did help me out with all the bills and paper work. I bought all in cash so that I wont have to pay more in the future. The sales man were pretty cool. I thought theyd be a lil too much or too forceful. Also, interior was clean, looked brand new, no miles in the car. Oh man the outside was clean, no scratches nor dents. Badass car. This time they really did over the limit. Im one happy customer with my Lexus. Couldnt ask for more. I love the car. Best choose Ive ever done.
On July 5, 2015 my husband took my car to the Lexus Orland Park, IL dealership to have an oil change. On arriving, the serviceman told him that my car needed other work. My husband already knew that he could not authorize any service on my car without my approval. So my husband called me on his phone and let me speak to the serviceman on his phone. I explained to the salesman that I was headed out of town the following day and did not want to do any other work until I returned. I told him to only do the oil change. He was adamant about my windshield wipers and said that I really need new ones. So I told him only do the oil change and wipers. Minutes later I received an email with a price of $417. I called the serviceman and ask how much was the wipers and why was the bill so high. He told me I needed a 90,000 service and that he went ahead and did it. I told him I did not authorize him to do the 90,000 mile service. He told me that my husband told him to do the 90,000 miles service. He told my husband, after he got off the phone with me that I said to do the oil change and wipers and 90,000 service. So my husband signed for the work. When I called him to asked him why did he do what I did not authorized him to do, he said, my husband told him to do it. After he got off my husbands phone he lied and told my husband that I had authorized the 90,000 miles service and then lied to me saying my husband had authorized the work. I told him I would not pay for it and I wanted to speak to his manager, but his manager said that there was nothing he could do but give me 10% off because the work had been done. These people are frauds. So do not take your cars to them. They will do work you did not authorize and will keep your car if you cant pay. I will be writing to the States Attorney office, they need to be investigated.
I have been a Lexus faithful since 1995. Bough about 8 of them. I am driving a 2013 Lexus LS 460 AWD and ES 350 (2010). Fantastic cars but now if I have an iPhone, which I always had does no fully compatible with the car. I cannot reply by send canned text messages.. According to the dealership it is APPLEs problem and I should switch to an Android phone. My solution is to look at other luxury cars.
I bought a new brand Lexus IS 350 one month ago. Now with only 600 miles driven, the car brake pads are not working. Lexus warranty also does not cover brake pads because they know that their brake pads quality is more than **. If I have to change its brake pads in every 600 miles then I have to change my brake pads 100 times until mileage of 6000 miles. Every time I will spend $300 to buy new pads so only pads will cost me $30,000. United States should consider businessing with Japan who sell Chinese products.
Lexus has small, midsize, and large vehicles. It has hybrid options too. They are very high safety and overall appearance. They also have great customer service. The details on this vehicle are classic so if you purchase a used or new car, you will be satisfied. This company takes great pride in producing luxury vehicles. The buyer can upgrade to meet a variety of personalization such as rack or foot board on an SUV, a sunroof, tinted windows, seat warmers, and wheels. The RX 350 sits 5 people comfortably even if one person is tall. The back seats recline a little to add extra comfort on long trips. The driver has the ability to boost their seat for better visibility.
My mother bought a 2008 Lexus RX 350. At 88k miles, she began experiencing issues with her car while driving and brought it to the dealership for an inspection. They told her that there were massive problems with her engine which would cost over $5k to fix. This car isnt even at 100k miles yet so it was incredible that there would be any engine problems. For what its worth, my mother is a very safe, responsible driver and she has never skipped any maintenance on her car. We asked what our options were and they told us that we were past the warranty, so our only option would be to pay the $5k out of pocket. Obviously, we were upset so we called the consumer hotline that they provided us to voice our concerns, and we spoke with a representative named Carlos. He admitted that there were known engine issues with the RX models and said that he would call us back with a solution.A few days later, he called us and said that he would cover only 50% of the parts. He would absolutely not budge even though we told him that Lexus should cover 100% of the parts and labor as this was a known issue. I feel that Lexus sold us a car with a faulty engine and is now refusing any responsibility. At this point, I am seriously considering suing the company and will never buy a Lexus again.
Have a Lexus GS300-2006 with 114K. It is now burning 1 quart every 1000 miles. Lexus Customer Service assures me this is normal, they even have it in the manual! It is normal for even 1 qt. every 600 miles according to Customer Service Rep! Unbelievable! My car is also starting misfiring, has carbon buildup. Lexus says, too bad, you are out of warranty and they will not help. I thought I had bought a great car and have had the car in for all services and oil changes. Meant nothing to Lexus. I bought this car certified and have babied it. To make an engine that is having this problems at 114k shows it is a horrible car. Repairs would cost over 8k. Never buy a Lexus. Their engines are build to fall apart. I would be interested in joining a class action lawsuit.
My car has replaced fuel pump last summer. And its factory warranty ended on 12/16/2016. However, my car still had problems from engine since last summer. So I dropped my car at the dealership and got loaner car about 5 times between last summer and this January. They had never found what the problem is. Finally, my car stopped on 3/4/2017. My car is towed to the dealership. And I heard that my cars engine is broken and it needs to replace to the new engine. It is totally unfair to pay for replace the new engine. My previous car was Acura. The reason why I switched to Lexus is the Lexus engine is very strong and they always goes to million mileage. Now, I totally regret to switch to the Lexus.I heard that something was exploded inside of the engine. And something broke the engine and it popped out from the engine. The engine is half broken (on 62000 miles, but out of warranty). Do you believe this? NOT CRACKED. Dealership pushed me to pay $8000 to replace my engine. How many people can pay $8000 right away? DO YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT I AM SAYING?
The garage door opener on my new RX350 opens the door from inside the garage, and closes the door when sitting directly in front of the garage. But with the door closed it wont open the door. I have a $12 mobile opener clipped to my visor. Service department sent out a tech to verify that I had the opener programmed correctly. IT worked for him one time, but then wouldnt work for me. He came back and couldnt get it to work. I think the signal is just weak, or the antenna is not hooked up. But I dont like not being able to open the garage door with my $53k car. Im sure this is not a common problem for Lexus but Id like to see some resolution to this problem.
I called Lexus customer rep, no help. They will not fix. So why pay the high price for Lexus when it is cheap product. Please look at all your Lexus gx460 2013 model. All metal folding seat have rust my.
Be careful with this problem, I had it happen to me and the dealer said it will likely be a 2500 dollar repair. I went on the net and researched the problem and found it required a software update so I thought 2500 is a bit much so from my computer experiences. I thought a reboot might work so I disconnected the battery cable and left it off for about 10 minutes while I cleaned the cables and posts. Once reconnected, rebooting started and problem fixed proving to me once again that all car dealers are crooks and now Lexus is at the top of all the crooks. It took me about 15 minutes total to do this repair saving me 2500 dollars which equates to 10 thousand dollars an hour at the dealership. They should be arrested for fraud.
17 years and no problems. 145,00 miles and only regular services, still going to drive it for another couple of years, at least until the house is paid off. 1999 rx300 and it still in style, and it still drives like new.
The same thing happened to me once - I narrowly escaped having my fingers crushed while opening the trunk. I think it re-locks after a certain amount of time, (or maybe my husband re-pulled the opener from the front) but I was about to open the trunk and the latch pulled down again to automatically close. I was grateful I pulled my fingers out just in time and now Im very careful to check that I open the trunk right away. Im also having other issues with my 2003 LS430, like a burning oil smell coming from the engine. I am under 100,000 miles so Im disappointed that I may be looking at something big (and surely costly). I had extended warranties up until last year and each time I brought it in I paid average $2000 AFTER the warranty work. Very disappointed.
I purchased a 2008 IS 250 Lexus in San Diego, California. Since purchasing it, I have had all my service done at the Kearny Mesa, San Diego location. This car has been riddled with problems and recalls including engine, brakes, seat belt, navigation and more. The problems just are never ending, and it does not seem Lexus is interested in taking any responsibility. When my touch screen system stopped responding to touch (350 miles outside of warranty), they quoted nearly $2,800 for replacement. They built a cheap car, charged a premium for the car and are collected from each of us to have their poor workmanship items repaired. I will never buy another Lexus and would never refer anyone to them either.
In January of 2011, I purchased a 2007 LS460L. The quality of the ride is what swayed me from purchasing a Mercedes. The vehicle had 40k miles on it and had 4 months left on time of warranty. I purchased the extended warranty and left a happy Lexus owner! Fast forward to Sept 2011, I noticed a thumping noise from the rear of vehicle. While having new brakes installed, I asked my local Goodyear tech to check out the noise. They checked and informed me that it was a common problem on virtually all LS models with air suspension. By coincidence, the techs father was a tech at local Lexus dealership. They informed me that instead of paying them, I should take it to Lexus as they knew of the issues and would fix under warranty. I did, only to be informed that my factory warranty had expired due to time (by 120days), and that the only exclusion in my extended warranty was, you guessed it, shocks! The problem I was told was the right rear air cylinder. It cost $1700 to repair. Lexus, being the quality company that they are, offered to cover the labor if I would pay the cost of the part. The cost of the part is $500. I agreed, scheduled the repair etc. When I picked the car up (and wrote the $500 check), our child noticed that nothing in the back seat area functioned - seat controls, shade control and safety belts! I called the dealer (cell phones) and asked if they possibly had to remove the rear seat to replace the air cylinder. Yes was the answer, so I explained the issue. I took vehicle back. Fifteen minutes later, they explained that the tech forgot to plug back in the wire harness. I left again with my Lexus riding like I expected a Lexus to ride, happy Lexus owner.I wish the story ended there, but nope. Twenty-eight days later, I began hearing the thumping noise again. This time it was with the left rear. I called my Lexus service rep and informed him of the exact same issue again, 30 days later. I explained that I had been on Lexus owner forums since last issues and knew that this was an issue on virtually all LS models. I did not expect to again pay $500 to repair a defect in the vehicle, that I wanted it fixed at no cost. He advised me that I needed to call the Lexus 25 line. I did. I explained it all to the call center answer person. She asked me what I was wanting them to do. I explained that not only did I want them to repair, but I wanted my $500 back from the previous repair. She explained that I would need to schedule to take my vehicle back to dealer and have them diagnose. I did. The funny thing is that this time, I noticed on sheet it said the it was worn strut mount. I called Lexus 25 line again and asked what the repair was labeled last time. They replaced the shock mount assembly. I wonder why they told me it was an air cylinder. They informed me that they would again extend me the offer of me paying $500 to fix their defect. I declined and have asked to speak with a dist. rep. She informed me that they are on the road all the time and may have a hard time contacting me. I politely explained that today, with email and cell phones, I expected a prompt return call. Ill let you know when I hear from him or her! By the way, Facebook, a social media, is a beautiful marketing tool. Lexus uses it! The downside is that I do too! I went to their Lexus Cars page and posted my complaint right there in the middle of all their wonderful posts about their wonderful cars. I encourage everybody to do the same. Social media is not just to sell products. Its to inform people!
I own a Lexus IS-F with a problem that Lexus themselves knows about but they dont want to do anything about it. Lexus makes 3 different versions of the Is and every model has a warranty enhancement for this issue except their most expensive model the Isf. The problem is the dashboard and door panels are sticky especially when hot out. What a poor product they have made. I only drive Lexus or Toyota, but I might consider another brand being the junk they are producing.
After nearly 20 years of Brand Loyalty for family of 3 Adult Drivers, my current 2019 RX 350 was in the shop for 6 unrelated repairs beginning at 9 months (9000 miles) of ownership in a nine month period and dealership refused to make any kind of fair buyback/trade-in offer for a non-problematic 2020 Rx350. At 1 year old with 9000 miles in Showroom condition their best offer was for me to pay $13,000 to replace my problematic vehicle with exact same model 1 year newer. Never again.
My Lexus doesnt have all of the Bells and Whistles, but Im still paying a hefty price for both car and insurance. It does have plenty of power for take off though,(and even on the Audubon if you want.) Its too powerful for my taste, as it will be be going what feels like 55 or 60 but will actually be going around 85 or 90. It doesnt handle curves very well at high speeds either.
The 2016 350 was sitting in our shaded driveway for two hours. We came out to drive and noticed the smell of something burning and saw the plastic faceplate had some melting streaks running diagonally across the GPS screen, etc. We took it to our local dealer who immediately began accusing us of 1. leaving it in the sun; 2. using finger nail polish remover to clean the screen and finally, 3. burning a candle in the cup holder. All three are not only false, but condescending in tone. They said it is impossible to melt the screen with the low voltage components inside the dash. They took a picture of the screen sent to Lexus, who denied the claim. They never even checked behind the panel to see if there was electrical damage. So I sent my insurance adjuster to inspect the car at the dealer. He found that catastrophic failure of the in-dash electronics had occurred. I again contacted Sewell Lexus in Dallas, and they told me there was no evidence of any electronic damage. I asked them to check the GPS, switches, etc. as the service manager had not. They didnt call me, but then sent me an estimate for repair exceeding $12,000. I sent my adjuster over a second time and again Sewell claimed it had to be external damage. Funny, there are no tool marks, scratched, or anything that would suggest anything external had caused the problem. Once more Sewell made the assumption that their former customer was at fault doing ridiculous things to our automobile. How can anyone assert a claim when the car that was at the dealership for over two months hadnt even been checked to see if the circuits worked! I havent a clue if this is a one and only situation with Lexus, as this is our third or simply a dealer thats lost sight of his customers. My insurance adjuster insists that the failure caused the melting of the screen and fried all the circuits.
After experiencing what I thought was a leak in the sun roof, I found out from the dealership that the SUV had four blocked sunroof drains due to dust, dirt and leaves and a blocked A/C drain caused by a spider making a web. I am in the dealership for all of my regular service checkups and these items are not on the check list of things to look at for each of the required service appointments. I have been told this will cost $9000.00 (this is not in my budget). My insurance company will not pay for this, so I am currently waiting for Lexus Corporate to get back to me. The interesting thing is that in addition to the 3 year warranty, I purchased an additional 3 years for continuity of service. A lot of good that did me.
My wife and I have a Lexus 430. The trunk lid has an electric power latch which automatically operates to pull the lid down tight when the lid is closed. On 9/30/13, I pulled the switch that opens the trunk in order to allow my wife to take out groceries that were inside the trunk. As my wife was in the course of lifting the trunk lid with her fingers, the latch unexpectedly and without warning activated to close the lid on her fingers with such crushing force that her finger bone was fractured, and her fingernail was pulled out. My wife has been suffering excruciating pain since the mishap! The Lexus owners manual does not give any warning or advice about how to open or close the trunk lid. If Lexus had warned of the danger of the power latch coming down while one was attempting to raise the lid, my wife would never have opened the trunk lid with her fingers!
My wife purchased her second new Lexus SUV in 2013 and was a diehard Lexus repeat customer. Her new Lexus RX450H is an expensive luxury class vehicle, and she justifiably had expectations that it would be a safe, reliable, and comfortable vehicle. It turned out that it is none of the above, and furthermore the Lexus people not only don’t stand behind their product, but knowingly deceive their customers regarding the quality of their products at the time of purchase. This vehicle and many other Lexus models have a faulty evaporator component in the air conditioning system which drains condensation into the cabin causing mildew and bacteria to develop and grow. We became aware of this after the terrible smell inside the vehicle became noxious. The Henderson, Nevada dealership where we purchased changed the filters at our cost and the problem persisted.Eventually, we learned that Lexus was aware of the vehicle’s defect when they sold us the car. Now, there are class action suits against Lexus for this specific defect, and the corporate office’s refusal to remedy the defect. While the corporate office acknowledges the defect and has issued several Technical Service Bulletins, or TSBs, which gave guidance to the dealerships and suggested specific language to placate the customers concerns, no recall has been made and Lexus admits they do not have a plan to fix the defect. After numerous attempts to resolve the issue on our part we have not received satisfaction in resolution of this defect. The corporate office claims resolution lies with the dealership, and vice versa. What is dispositive is that Lexus products are not the reliable vehicle they once had a reputation as, and after sale customer service is deplorable. So, look a little further if you are considering the purchase of a Lexus in the luxury vehicle market.
This is my first time leasing with Lexus. I have leased with Honda for 16 years, ever since I got my license at sixteen. I decided to switch to Lexus, but I must say I’m disappointed. I specifically asked the car saleswoman Danielle C at Tri County Lexus in Little Falls NJ if the LEXUS RX 350 FSPORT had panoramic roof and she said, “no they don’t come with that”. After making the deal I find out that they do. I basically have a Lexus with the same features as my 2018 Honda Accord, paying more than double the price. I’m very disappointed. I also wasn’t told that the 12inch screen was available on the Fsport as well. First and last time leasing with Lexus for sure. I could have leased a 2022 Acura MDX technology package with many more features and same price! Aside from the disappointment of service I encountered, Lexus is lacking on their technology features.
I visited JM Lexus where I leased my NX200. I had a accident about 4 weeks before lease end. I spoke to a manager about the procedure of returning the vehicle if it was damaged. he went into the computer, and stated to me that I had the excess wear and tear plan, and I was covered at $2000.00 per incident up to $7500.00. I explained to him that I was going to take it to my insurance company, and pay a $500.00 deductible, and have the vehicle repaired. He assured me that the plan would cover the damage, and just return the vehicle. I did what he told me to do, and my new vehicle arrived about two weeks later. The night before, I got a invoice from Lexus for $6500.00. I forwarded this information to the salesperson, and he said the damaged should have been covered. After speaking with his manager, it wasnt covered. Problem is now the vehicle was sold at auction, and I cannot put in a claim with my insurance company. I spoke to the Manager at the dealership, and he told me that when the car was turned in the salesman was supposed to inspect it, and he would have told me there was too much damage. That never happened. I told this guy from the get go there was a lot of damage, but he was sure it would be covered. Now Lexus is trying to put me on the hook for the damage, because somebody there dropped the ball. It is just aggravating to me that I was going to put the claim in to my insurance company, and this whole thing would have only cost me $500.00, and I listened to the Lexus representative instead. Looks as though to me the Wear and Tear plan is a scam.
IS250 Lexus door panels - You cant touch the doors or lean on them, or they become dented. Lexus will not replace it, says I have to pay 3000 to fix it. I really like the car, but my doors look all cut up because I cant touch them without scratching them up.
It is comfortable, nice handling, easy to park and a good looking SUV. We looked at all of the luxury 5 passenger SUVs and the RX-350 stood out above all the rest. Good performer and satisfactory fuel mileage for an AWD.
I just leased my sixth Lexus and I regret it! I dont care how great it drives because the music sound system is the WORSE. The rear speaker has NO SOUND coming from it at all. When you drive the only speaker that sound comes from is the front speaker. God forbid you increase the volume, the sound blasts at you so loud that it is torture to drive in the car. There is nothing Lexus service can do. Its their new sound system. It is torture! Not only that, my business only uses Blackberry phones and the new 2019 Lexus only works with iPhones. My last 2016 Lexus allowed text message to appear on the screen. Now the new 2019 Lexus models. So it is MANDATORY that you have an iPhone if you want to drive the luxurious 2019 Lexus without using your stereo system.
While driving my 12 year old daughter yesterday in my 2007 Lexus IS250 with a 105,000 miles my vehicles interior dash gauges and navigation starts flickering all crazy like it was possessed. Then the car looses power steering in a curve... As I try to slow down the power brake light comes on my daughter begins to cry.... This was not a good experience to be dealing with while driving your child. Thankfully I got the car pulled out of traffic and safely to a parking space... Thank God I wasnt on the interstate or the highway.....
This is my 2nd Lexus: my first one, ES 330 was a great car from mechanical to cosmetics! This 2nd, ES 350 is the poorest quality you can get! I was told by a service manager in N Miami, that the reason the interior materials (dash board, seats cover, cosmetically wood design, that all are falling apart), are made to disintegrate after a while! No kidding!!!? They actually do, I cannot even clean the interior because the board is jelly like, the seats covers are all broken after 2-3 years and the color will come off when you clean them, the wood design is flying up peeling as well everywhere, at 72 000 miles I had to replace the front direction and before, the steering wheel fell! And you would believe that for over $42000, you will buy a nice quality car! No, not anymore! I was back in forth with Lexus via emails, I went to the dealer to show what is happening to the car, they said that I have to pay if I don’t like the way it looks! I called to have at least the dash board replace since is melting, but two customer service from Lexus Corporate said that the offer expired on March 31 this year and they won’t extend it, although they never told me about it when I went to the dealer or on our exchanged emails! Think twice if you planning to get a Lexus at this time: it is not the same quality or customer service as they started! A shame!
I bought a Lexus GS 350, new in 2008. I previously owned (2) Lexus GS 300 and had not major problems with either. I bought the 2008 because I knew I was retiring, would be traveling (out of town parents/relatives) and there were such great reviews as it is now about the car: reliability, safety, craftsmanship. I maintained my car well, especially the oil changes, every 4,000 to 5000 miles. I had an oil change in Feb 2014, 86290 miles. On April 7, 2014, Low Engine Oil Level light came on (89676 miles), a total of 3,386 miles. I was told that the car was getting older and to check it and add oil if needed. May 21, 2014 the light came on again (92,847 miles) a total of 3,171 miles. And the list goes on! Of course the consumption tests says within consumption levels. I now have 121,817 miles on the car as of today. Im adding a quart of oil about every 2 weeks. I had the oil changed today 11/3/15 (**), and they wrote on the ticket oil level low prior to service. Lets see how long it will be before the light comes on again!Im sure Lexus knows theres a problem, no car just burns oil for no reason. I wonder are they telling those buying their cars that theres a Consumption problem after so many miles??? Probably not!! I have two friends, one with a GS 300 and the other a RX 300 that are having the same problem. I have a 1989 Mercury Marquis, within excess of 225000 miles, and Ive never had to add oil between oil changes. Nor has my husband who has a 2006 Ford Expedition with 148000 miles!! Something needs to be done and Lexus should take responsibility for this problem. Lets try to get it out to as many people as possible. If someone has a lawsuit in progress contact me, **. Id like to join the suit!!! Im 68 years old and shouldnt have to purchase another car; it wouldnt be a Lexus if I did!!!
Purchased a used RX350 16 months ago. 2016 year model. Love the looks of this car. I drove a 2014 Ford Escape Titanium for over 6 years and that car was way above this car in every way. So disappointed.
Lexus 2010 RX450 - The front seats have been cracking/splitting for some period of time. Upon discovering that this wearing was not normal, I took the car to the Scanlon/Lexus Ft. Myers, FL. I cant tell with accuracy when this cracking started, but I am 100% certain that it started well within the warranty period. Even though the car was only 4 months out of the warranty. This is my third and LAST Lexus. They refused to do anything about it. They did call in the regional Lexus rep who basically would not give me any satisfaction in trying to get the seats repaired. I reported this problem to the Lexus corporate office in May 2015, incident #**. Their attitude was what have you done for us lately in terms of taking the car in for service to a Lexus dealer. I have spent over $128,000 in the past 10 years on Lexus cars, but I will not spend another penny on repairing a problem that is the result of poor materials or workmanship. I will be submitting a complaint with the local BBB, ASAP.
There was a large selection, many colors and varieties and it was easy to find the one I wanted. The car looked new and was a sleek model. It really reflected the modern vision of what the model should have been and it made me feel elated. Also, the passenger capacity of this car was extremely large. I can fit at least four people in the vehicle and it is great for taking people places. There was a wide variety of upgrade and personalize options that made me proud of my purchase and I was extremely happy with them.
Lexus has denied warranty coverage on our car without any reasonable explanation, and ignored our request to provide reasonable explanations. In November 2013, we purchased a certified pre-owned Lexus that came with a 3-year warranty. At the time of purchase, the front bumper was slightly misaligned, with a small gap between the main body and the bumper on the driver side. Over time, the front bumper kept getting loose, making the gap very wide. Also, a gap started appearing on the driver side of the rear bumper. After ignoring several e-mails and phone calls of ours, Lexus requested us to have the car inspected by the service manager of the dealership where we purchased the car. At the time of inspection (August 13), the service manager looked puzzled and said that he would send the pictures and the description of needed repairs to Lexus. On August 19, the service manager informed us by phone that Lexus denied the warranty coverage because the problems were determined to be due to external causes. This argument, however, has no foundation because there is no trace of an impact on either bumper. On the same day, we sent the case manager at Lexus an e-mail requesting her to answer the following three questions in writing: (1) There is no trace of an impact. (I dont think the service manager found any trace of an impact. Let me know if he said otherwise.) What kind of external cause would make the bumper seriously misaligned without leaving a dent or scratch? (2) I understand that nobody can rule out the possibility of a minor contact on the bumper, such as a contact by another car at a speed of 2 MPH while the vehicle is parked. However, bumpers are supposed to withstand moderate impacts, not to mention minor impacts. If the bumper got seriously misaligned by a minor impact leaving no dent or scratch, shouldnt the manufacturer be responsible for it? (3) How can you rule out the possibilities of defective factory assembly or defective repair/replacement by the previous owner?By phone, the case manager told us that she could only send us a generic denial letter. The letter sent through e-mail simply says, it has been determined that the repair needed to the bumper is due to an outside influence. If they were allowed to deny warranty coverage without any reasonable explanation, they would not have to honor any warranty coverage. We are pursuing this matter through various channels, and we will update this as we get results.
About 15000 miles I noticed the leather coloring wearing off. When I called about it they said no problem under bumper to bumper warranty. Mind you I weigh 155 and my wife weighed 125. When taking it in for airbag recall with now 30000 miles and still under warranty I mentioned the seats. They have refused to repair it or replace them. I have a 1994 F350 we towed the race car with and 200000 miles and seats perfect. Any other vehicle I have owned, Im 70 and owned quite a few, never had coloring worn off the seats. On my 2010 Lexus didnt have a problem. But now I guess they are saying we cant meet the quality of all the other car manufactures. This is totally wrong what they do and should be held accountable and take care of the defect.
You can get the Lexus SUV with or with out a sunroof, leather seats, heated seats as well as a heated steering wheel. There are various other changeable features to choose from. My Lexus SUV had four doors and sun roof. The interior is leather at a great price! I love the sleek design that it has. It also offers a variety of colors. The passenger seating in the Lexus SUV can hold up to 7 people. The SUV is very roomy so all the passengers can sit comfortably and that is very important to my family. The appearance is beautiful and sleek. They have rear camera feature to make backing up easy as it would beep if you came too close to an object.
Different varieties of models and features that are actually nice and I would recommended that. Each model is unique in its own, but I prefer Lexus Los cause it offers hybrid and gasoline vehicles and they give you the ability to choose which one that you want. Lexus has many upgrades and personalization options that can be added onto the vehicle and that isnt added to the final bill of sale, which is excellent to me and I actually love that about them. Lexus is such a luxury vehicle and so affordable that anyone can afford them.
My car buying experience of Lexus is awesome. Lexus has a lot of cars to choose from in its lineup. They can be on the lower range price or higher depending on what youre looking for. They are all very good vehicles with little maintenance required. The features of Lexus cars are the best out there! They have the most technologically advanced cars with dozens of features not found with other vehicles. You can upgrade a Lexus to your liking and preference. They have the most unique offerings out of any other car I have seen. You can get something less or more advanced. You can choose many different options they have available. You can get a two seater or get enough room for up to eight people. I like that they allow you to customize a car to your liking. So whether youre a family person or single youre guaranteed to find something to make you happy with Lexus!
Lexus requires you to pay a yearly fee to use remote app or key fob for remote start. They should not be doing this. Other manufacturers do not require this fee. I will think twice before purchasing another Lexus vehicle because of this.
My LS460 has best radio Lexus offers (Levinson) and at 67000 miles the radio amp failed and I have had no radio since. My car is always been maintained and in fact looks like a new car. I went to the dealership in Manchester who looked at the amp and said he saw no reason for the failure, the area was clean and dry. He suggested I call Lexus Consumer Relations. I did as they suggested and spoke with a Colleen. She said I needed to return to the dealership for a formal inspection to be put in writing. I said, If I do return and the report reflects the same thing my first visit did will you fix my radio amp? She said she could not make any promises… I said, Then why am I jumping through these hoops? She said it was required by Lexus. I returned as Colleen asked and received the same results: there was no reason, obvious reason for the failure. The information was relayed to Colleen and weeks later she called me and said Lexus was unable to offer any help... offer assistance. SO BASICALLY SHE WASTED MY TIME! To own an $80,000.00 car with only 67000 mile and no radio is crazy. Ive been driving around with a boom box on the passenger seat. I AM VERY UNHAPPY AND WOULD NEVER BUY ANOTHER LEXUS IF THIS IS HOW THEY ARE MAKING THEM TODAY.
In February of 2013 I leased a 2013 RX350 from Lexus in Peoria, IL. I kept smelling an odor coming from the vents and took it back to the dealership to fix the problem. They sprayed disinfectant in the vents and brought it back. That was in August of 2013, I could still smell it so they picked up the car again, sprayed again and changed the cabin filter. Still the smell was there! I have called the corporate office and they wont do anything more about it. In September I had to go to doctors office, received 3 shots and my doctor sent me to emergency room, got more shots and they did some blood test. They think I had an allergic reaction, we think because of the mildew. When I told corporate about this they said it was because of my driving habits,???? I have tried everything I know to do. In February 2014 I had ANOTHER allergic reaction, was sent to doctors office and had to get a shot! Was in bed for the whole weekend again. I am only leasing this vehicle and they wont fix it!!
My 2004 RX 330 has a cracked dashboard in multiple places. I was informed that Lexus recognized this problem on my year/make/model and was offering to replace the dashboard. The dealership said my VIN # was not in the system for a replacement. They agreed it did need replaced and they took pictures and sent them to Lexus. Lexus just called to deny my dash getting replaced. How do they get to pick and choose whose dashboards get replaced if this is a recognized problem? I have had my car for 11 years and have spent thousands of dollars to Lexus paying for and keeping my car under extended warranty. They should at least pay for that.
Things keep falling apart. The window is making a noise, the armrests have no leather on them... Its all flaked off. And now the TRANSMISSION. I was told by multiple people that it would easily go to over 200K miles... Its falling apart at 150,0000. LEXUS is only a luxury model because of its PRICE!!! Resell value sucks too!
My ES 350 dashboard is melting, has a fume coming from the car because of the melting dashboard. Contacted Lexus - we were told, What do you expected, you have got a old car. I would never buy a Lexus in my life again. Lexus is not what it used to be.
I have a 2002 RX300 and recently had the transmission go out. It is obvious by all of the complaints online that the 1999-2003 models have a defect in their transmissions. It is also obvious that Lexus does not care. I am very upset as I have addressed Corporate with this and they do not care at all. They are losing a lot of customers as well as myself because of this. This issue should have had a recall. As far as good customer service goes, Lexus needs some help with this. We are in the market for a new car and it will NOT be a Lexus!
My Lexus car is small black and gray and red from the inside which I think is amazing because of the colors because I dont see a lot of people with the same colors. I feel like it is one of the most beautiful cars in the world just from its appearance. I would not buy any other car that looked different. I think I am the richest person on earth just looking at my car. It works amazing and I think that it is the best car ever and that everyone should buy one someday or you might not be lucky because of its upgrades and personalization options. However, I dont like how there is only 2 seats but I wish there were 4 to 5 to make more people sit in the car of amazingness. I also like how there is two seats because it drives faster and it is more customized.
I am on my third IS Model Lexus and like the product. Unfortunately I have found my new 2016 IS 300 AWD stalls or feels like fuel starvation when I sometimes go to make a turn either right or left at low speeds or intersections. It becomes very concerning when you are turning into traffic or across traffic and it feels like you will not make it across the intersections. The yellow flashing engine light comes on but I have notified the dealership 3 times (at Service Intervals) and no fault can be found. Has anyone else experienced similar challenges with their Lexus IS 300 AWD too?
I had an oil leak under my 2003 Lexus GX 470. I was told it was from the transfer case and electronic actuator. The cost to repair would be $2,000 because it required 20 hours of labor to replace a seal. I told them to forget it. I went on the Internet and found similar problems other owners were having--same type of $2,000 charge.I found one person who said that he did the repair himself, described the procedure and took pictures. It was a simple O-ring replacement in the electronic actuator. I crawled under my car, took my own pictures and compared them to his pictures. The leak looked similar. I took the instructions and pictures to a local repair shop, not Lexus.I went over the information with the owner and he said it looks pretty simple. He put my car on a lift, raised it, removed 3 bolts and slid off the actuator. The O-ring was bad. Lexus did not have an O-ring in stock but Toyota did, which was the same part number. The O-ring was $5.00. Lexus was probably charging $20.00. He replaced the O-ring and reinstalled the actuator in less than one hour. This $2,000, 20-hour labor job took one hour and cost me just $85.85. Now, that makes me feel good but very angry at the same time, knowing how I could have been ripped off. I just want to let the public know that you should do some investigation on the Internet before making a high dollar commitment. You might find an answer that will save you thousands of dollars.
I own a Lexus 330, my next car will be a larger Lexus. This is the most comfortable and easiest to drive and operate. I went over 5000 miles in 3 weeks, it was great.
The brand offers from small hybrid to larger, mid-size SUV. I have found that I like a variety of cars from this brand, including the hybrid SUV. I like that it has a sleek, rounded appearance. I do not care for boxy style hybrids. The interior is sleek and there is ample room to seat five. There is also a generous truck with plenty of cargo space. People are normally surprised that it offers as much room as it does in the inside. It is an efficient car. The controls and navigation device is good. Television options are there, however I am happy with my initial purchase and do not need anything additional to the model of my car.
Probably this was my worst decision to buy a pre-owned 2014 Lexus IS 250 AWD back in 2016. I was certainly duped by looking at those J.D. Power ratings of dependability and reliability. Bought a pre-owned Lexus dealer certified 2014 IS 250 AWD and vehicle is in a very good in condition until a couple of days ago where AC was blowing hot air when I was doing a long trip with my family along with my newborn four and a half month old. The AC was working fine till we reach the destination and on our way back is where the AC did not work and we had to drive back home 140 miles under 95 degrees hot day with a four and a half month baby. I had shared my experience with my colleagues and they say I shouldve bought an extended warranty. Damn! Why in the world should I buy an extended warranty when I am paying so much for a car which is branded as reliable and dependable? This is nuts. So, I took my vehicle to the local Toyota dealer (obvious that the Lexus dealer is going to rip me off with their charges and that is totally fine because its LEXUS) and it costs me $700 to fix a sensor and redo the whole AC to be up and working. Very dissatisfied with Lexus and did not expected this kind of issue when the vehicle is still under 100,000 miles. Definitely, moving to a different brand in a very short time.
Oil Sludge in RX300 2001. Currently just getting estimates of up to $5000 to repair the problem. When I call up dealers no one knows about this problem, but I see there have been settlements regarding this situation. It mentions Toyota has received 3400 complaints about this problem.
I will never buy another Lexus vehicle. After receiving a recall notice, I waited to take it to the dealer because I was unsure if I was keeping this car. When it was decided to pass it down to my 3rd year medical student, daughter, because of the supposed reliability, I took the vehicle in for the repair. When I left there with a diagnosed timing cover leak, engine oil leak, that occurs in about 100% of these due to a manufacturing problem, and was notified of a $2,800 cost, my trust in this vehicle is over. Not only was that uncovered, but my daughter has complained of the navigation/electrical system shutting off/rebooting approx. 8 times in a 2 hour drive. Jim Hudson Lexus service advisor said I needed an update for $186. Upon further review, I do not believe an update will help. I reached out to Lexus Corporate and after the case manager, finally, reached someone at Jim Hudson, this has been ongoing for about 3 weeks, she called to tell me that Jim Hudson could not create the navigation problem so they did not have a suggestion other than to leave the car with them for further diagnostics. Since the driver is a medical student, 2 hours away, this additional diagnosis time may not be a possibility. Also, she wanted to notify me that Lexus will not be able to help with the repair of the oil leak. After discovering the continued problems with these vehicles, not just the 7 year old ones but the 1 week old ones, I will remove Lexus from my possible cars to buy in the future. Please beware of any Lexus vehicle you are thinking of buying. I do not know how they receive such high ratings.
Ive been trying to resolve this issue for about 2 years now. My car dashboard has become very sticky and when its very sunny outside, it is hard to see through the window because of the reflection from the dashboard. When I was living in South Florida, I mention this to Lexus of North Miami. They were no help and stated to me that I should be getting a letter in the mail, which never came. When I move down to Maryland, I also brought this matter to the attention of Lexus of Silver Spring and again, the individual helping me stated that I was not on the list which didnt make sense to me. I call the Lexus Customer Satisfaction number but the rep stated that I wasnt eligible. I dont understand why I wouldnt be eligible since I did purchase the car from a Certified Lexus dealership.
2003 ES Lexus - I bought the car used in 2005, it had 10,000 miles on it. I paid $30,000 for it. After I had it for a couple of months, I started seeing a blue smoke coming out of the exhaust. I called Lexus and was told there was nothing they could do about it. I called a friend at Spritzer where I bought it and was told they were having an oil sludge problem in some of Lexus older model cars, so he called someone he knew at North Hills Lexus and they admitted they were having some problems with sludge engines and they would repair it free. I was very happy. That was at 20,000 miles. At about 40,000 it started smoking a little again. I just let it go thinking it wasnt that bad. Big mistake. Now I have a car that when I start it up, the car looks like its on fire. This engine has 80,000 miles on it so I talked to Lexus USA. They told me to take it to a dealer and run a test on it. I took it to Rohrich Lexus in Pittsburgh - very nice people, very helpful. The service manager was excellent. He ran tests and found that there was oil sludge building up in the engine again. So, I called Lexus USA to see what they wanted me to do. I was told their man Jimmy would contact me. Well after several days went by and repeated calls, he called and said his regional manager would be by and determine what would happen.Well to get to the point, he said that since I didnt have it serviced at Lexus, theres nothing they can do about it. My son-in-law owns a garage so he did the oil changes for me. They didnt want to hear it. So now Im stuck with a Lexus that isnt worth ** with an engine that only has 80,000 miles on it. They wont help me at all. Thanks Jimmy, you were of no help at all. I called you 10 times, you called me back twice. Good luck with your cars.
I purchased a new 2015 RX450h from a Lexus Dealership in MO in mid-December. I had the opportunity last month to observe my vehicle with the headlamps on. To my surprise, the headlamp covers are badly distorted. I took my vehicle back to the dealership only to discover that all the Lexus on the showroom floor had the same problem. I contacted Lexus and received 2 emails and 1 phone call explaining that its the way they are made and they are not looking for a fix. This is a real problem and maybe even a safety issue as the vehicle ages. Im extremely disappointed in the quality of the headlamp covers and that Lexus does not care about the product they put on the market. If you have a 2015 or 2016, take a look at your headlamps when on!
Lexus RX350 is very reliable and comfortable machine. Handles well, quiet interior, and no maintenance issues. The interface to the control screen menu and Nav is very good. This interface was the least obtrusive and less distracting than many other vehicle’s systems which use a distracting round knob. My only suggestion would be to move the driver’s auto-window controls so that the front windows align with my left hand. These window controls are slightly off and result in the wrong window opening or closing. Overall a very above average car.
Lexus is a great brand. The vehicles that the Lexus brand offers has a look of luxury. It offers many different styles and sizes in cars and SUVs. I love the add on options. Lexus brand offers many upgrades and personalized options for you to add on for an additional cost. You definitely get what you pay for with the Lexus brand. My Lexus LX SUV is pearl white and despite it being over ten years old I get compliments on a regular basis. It still drives wonderfully and I havent had any issues with it either. The leather interior, heated seats, and built in GPS makes ride very comfortable. It also offers plenty of space for passengers to enjoy their ride. There is enough space for 5 to have plenty of room, including plenty of leg space for backseat passengers as well, which makes the LX perfect for long distance trips.
I just leased a 2017 Lexus NX 200T and have been driving it for about 4 months. I am very unhappy with the Bluetooth system. Previously, I had a Ford Edge and the Bluetooth was far better than the Lexus. I never had any issues with it. When I place a call in the Lexus, I will say Please call John Smith. It then pulls up John Smith as well as several other people and asks me to select who I am trying to call from the list. If it doesnt do this, then the other thing it does is when I say Please call John Smith, it says are you sure you want to call the contact? It absolutely NEVER just allows me to call someone without taking me through these steps. I have been to two different Lexus dealers about this. One told me it would take my new car a while to recognize my voice... OK, it has been 4 months and I went through the voice recognition set up a while ago. The other dealer could not explain it. Had I known this is what it is going to be like just to place a call, I never would have leased this vehicle as I am stuck with it for the next several years.
I drove my Lexus 250 to a reliable Dealer - Pohanka Lexus Chantilly, VA. They listened to my concerns and had diagnosed the scenarios. I am kind of get convinced that my former car Honda Accord Ex v6 with bigger power engine; it performs much better driving on the highway.Well.
My engine was strangely replaced by Lexus for an unknown reason. When I called and asked why they would not give me an answer, its only warranty from nine years to the day the car was made. When I brought the car broke down from a misfire. They told me it was carbon buildup on the engine. Three years after, I had a letter in the mail stating if my car misfired they would replace the engine up to nine years from the day the car was made by the factory so I got a new engine. I called Lexus, the corporation and they would not tell me why these cars needed a new engine. The engine warranty on it was only one year on the new engine...I would have like to known why such a major engine problem and the car was never recalled. Also another problem was the power steering locked up while driving. If I had been on a highway doing 70 that would have been quite scary I would think. Sounds like another recall should have been made there. I have read many complaints for that problem.... And lastly my melting door panels, what a mess! Started pretty much early on looks terrible ... I had dashboard fixed cause Lexus ruined it when installing a new radio. Good thing cause if it were like the door panels it would be a disaster.
I’m pretty bummed my Lexus RX 350. I bought it at Lexus of Naperville in 2013. It has 54,000 miles now and needs a new engine. It blew a head gasket with no warning, It’s out of warranty and Lexus corporate office denied any assistance. $10,000 worth of work??? I’ve keep up with the maintenance. Had 1 oil change outside of Lexus because their mechanics were on strike. Sorry for the long text. Needed to vent to someone. I’ll have to get it fixed but I’m no longer a Lexus fan. The only good thing is the service Manager Mike really did his best to help???
Ive received a Warranty Enhancement Notification ZLD over a year ago and the Lexus dealership that I take my 2006 RX330 for service tells each time I contact them about fixing my dashboard that the parts are not available. Im writing this to find out when the parts to fix my RX330 dashboard will be available at the dealerships. This issue has lowered the resale value of my RX330.
I have a Lexus is250 2008 and my dashboard and my door panel are crack. When I went to the Lexus dealer, they told me that I dont have warranty in my vehicle and that happens because of the sun. I live in Florida, always hot. What kind of bad material you use that its going to break because the weather like they said. I dont have an old car and thats happening already. They told me that theres nothing they can do, when I know that should be change because its a bad quality factory material.
Brand new car today (2019 ES 350 with luxury package). Beautiful ride and handling. Sound system is HORRIBLE. I dare you to try and get adequate sound from rear speakers! With the fader its all or nothing. If you toggle to get more volume from the rear, the front speakers cut out completely. The sound was just as good in cars I owned during the 70s. I bought the car in Brossard (South Shore, Montreal). First thing I noticed is that there were 188 kilometers on the new car (about 140 miles). Thats like driving half-way from Montreal to NYC! Then, I had trouble loading a CD to listen to the sound. Turns out there was already a CD in it... Rap Music, to boot! I can only imagine where this new car has been before I got in it. Dealer (Gabriel Lexus) didnt give a damn... I was told simply to enjoy the car... My first stop was the car wash, where I got the guys to clean the windshield of film and streaks. Previously, I owned 16 Nissans and Infinitis in a row (sixteen vastly better experiences!). I hope I feel better about LEXUS tomorrow, after a good night sleep.
I received a letter from Lexus today informing me that my two Lexus cars (IS 250 and ES 350) will be recalled at some point in the future due to a defect in the Takata Front Passenger Airbag Inflator. It said the airbag can deploy due to this defect and possibly send metal fragments through the airbag striking and possibly injuring or killing the vehicle occupant. It also said that Lexus is working on preparing a remedy and will send another notification when the remedy becomes available. Then it says What should you do? Until the remedy becomes available, we recommend that you do not operate the vehicle with an occupant in the front passenger seat.So their solution is to not have us drive with anyone in the passenger seat until some unknown time in the future (1 month? 6 months? 1 year? 2 years?), when they finally contact us to fix the defect. This is unacceptable. How are families that need to use the passenger seat to carry everyone supposed to function with this solution? They need to come up with a short time fix until the longer term problem can be resolved, e.g., remove the deadly airbag in the near term and replace it at some point in the future. We have seat belts that can protect the passenger in the meantime and the seat belt will not kill someone unexpectedly. My impression is Lexus sent his note because they are more concerned about their legal liability if the defect occurs and less concerned about how thousands families with IS 250 or ES 350 are suppose operate day to day and never use the passenger seat until Lexus determine the best method for minimizing their costs to address this issue.
Lexus has a lot of nice cars to offer. It was either the 350 or a LFA. I also like their SUVs and their hatchbacks. The people at the dealership were very nice in helping me find my dream car and they have a lot of packages that you can put on your car. There is the race package, the performance package, and the street package. You can also choose what radio you have. Their car looks very nice and also looks really expensive. The rims look really cool and the nice dark silver I got on my car looks really nice. You can fit a lot of your friends in the back of this car wherein I had to make 7 people fit in it. Thanks to all of the wonderful room in the car.
I purchased my 2919 RX450H in December of 2019 off the showroom floor with 250 miles. The first year of having my car, my car shut down on me two times. Both times I was on my way to a patients home. While in route to my clients home I started receiving Hybrid System Malfunction warnings, Pre-Collision Malfunction and Check Engine, immediately after that I received a warning to pull over to a safe place immediately and within .03 miles it automatically shut off without me being able to pull over to a safe place. By the second time, I went into the dealership and I spoke to the GM at the Lexus dealership in Orland about the car being very unsafe for me to drive because I never know when it’s going to just shut down on me and that I would like for Lexus to give me another car exactly like mine. I informed him the only reason I chose Lexus over the other high end cars was due to its safety history. He informed me that the dealership aren’t able to mark my car as a lemon write off only Lexus corporation have the legal right to do that. I contacted Lexus corporation. Filled out all the required paperwork along with the service that had been performed on my vehicle due to my shutting off while driving. I later received a letter stating they reviewed my case. Could not mark my car as a lemon. I’m here to say that my car just shut down on me again for the 3rd time for the exact same reason with only 20k miles on it!! I spoke to the GM at the Lexus dealership in Orland again informing him how upset I am and this is unacceptable and how I can’t believe Lexus isn’t standing behind their brand considering how they brag as being ranked as one of the safest cars on the road! Lexus doesn’t stand by their name and don’t care about their customers safety!! I do not recommend Lexus to anyone if this is how they stand behind their brand!!! I feel like Lexus IS saying “you’re on your own and deal with it”!
I have owned two LEXUS ES since 2001 and have had excellent experience with each. My first was a 1998 and was finally totaled by a hit and run driver in 2016 but had 275000 miles on it without a single repair to the engine or transmission. I serviced as recommended but nothing broke on that car. We have a 2007 now with all options and love this car too. So far at just over 100k miles, we have had mice eat some wires under the hood and the VSC, traction and check engine lights have remained on since repaired and we are not sure why. Also the new car has been hacked and cant figure out how to solve. To those who complain about paying annual to use features, I say dont buy luxury if you cannot afford it and every car has additional features to pay for! OnStar Satellite radio, etc. Overall Lexus is an affordable car at new, used prices so no complaints here! Also one thing about Lexus of the so many things I love is that there is NO road noise!
I just brought my 2006 Lexus RX400H in for the 35,000 mile service and to have brake pads checked. I was told that I need not only brake pads, but rotors and calipers on all four wheels with only 36,000 miles on the car. Two years ago, when I had about 25,000 miles, I was told that I had to replace all four tires. The cost was $1,500 and the dealership wouldnt let me leave without replacing all the tires. I have owned many high end vehicles in my 65 years and never have I had to replace all four tires in such a short time and certainly not a two thousand dollar brake job at 36,000 miles. Something is very wrong here. I bought this car new at IRA Lexus in Danvers, MA in March of 2006, and have overall been pleased with the car. However, this kind of component breakdown (or brake down) is unacceptable on a car which cost $53,000 when I purchased it. I believe that the parts had to be faulty or below acceptable standards for a high end car like Lexus. I look forward to hearing from you soon. This is a very disappointing and costly situation, which I do not feel is up to Lexus standards. Please respond.

I recently emailed Lexus Brand Experience about the horrible service I have received with my new Lexus ES350 FSport. This was on 12/29 and I have yet to hear back. Just another testament to why I will never buy a Lexus again. It all started from the salesperson telling us that we had 2 free oil changes that come to find out is not true. Then after bringing my car home, noticing it has a very small chip on the gas cap & the salesperson telling us Oh well, you took it home, nothing we can do. Each time Ive taken my car in for service it has not gone smoothly. The 2nd time taking it in they rotated my tires & since then my car has not driven the same. Took it in for the 3rd time and when I bring this up, the service writer proceeds to tell me that they could balance them for $90 & had I brought it in immediately after that they would have fixed it. Im trading in my car and will never recommend Lexus to anyone!
I have odor coming from my vents on my 2013 RX350. The dealer says Lexus is aware of this problem but offers no remedy. What can I do? Can they replace my car??? This is my third RX350. Is my loyalty worth anything?!!! I hope so.
I love this car and brand. Air conditioning all around, antilock brakes, power windows, Sirius radio, back up camera, ashtrays behind each seat, up front black leather seats and a very good warranty with OnStar Wi-Fi connection. Also, it holds 6 people with plenty of leg room and comfortable seats and seat belts. Upgrade and personalizations include tinted windows, Onstar, back seat DVD, child seats, seat belts, CD player, mp3 player and compatible new tires.
From what I gather, Lexus makes great quality luxury vehicles and you cant go wrong with a single model made by the brand. Its very comfortable, which makes long trips so much easier on my back! It comes with lots of unique features & models to choose from when adjusting temperature, seating position & even a variety of lighting within the car. But the most used extra feature would be the seat warmers for sure. The care and maintenance bought in advance when purchasing your vehicle is the smartest way to handle yearly cost. Their seats are extremely roomy and comfortable. The backseat comes with a fold down armrest & cup holder for additional backseat passengers. Driver isnt the only one with a seat warmer. The front passenger also has warming setting. Both seats have their own dial so temperatures can vary per seat.
My wife and I just bought a new Lexus GX460 at your dealership. We requested to have a remote starter installed prior we picked up our car. Bob who is the financial manager was kind to help us out. Weve asked Bob about the specific brand of the remote starter and when he tried to contact the 3rd party he didnt get a response. He reassured me that Lexus only use the best and we trusted him. When we got the remote starter installed. We were told that the car is too new and the software might not be available, so we waited a week for answers. As a customer, I called my shop that install remote starter for my old car and asked them about the availability for a new GX460 and they said theres not available yet. One week later I got a call from Tony telling me that the software is available and therefore I trusted him. The tech came to my house and install the software and he said that there are few glitches to it because the car is so new. He told me before he came to my house and install the software that he had installed a VIPER brand remote starter and on that day when I received my remote starter, it wasnt Viper and it was Avital. Avital is a cheap brand remote starter and I do not expect Lexus to install it into our new car and to make it worse, there are glitches to the software.
Lexus is the best on the market. If you want a brand that is top notch, this would be the purchase of your dreams. The variety of this car comes with multiple colors and different accessories in the different designs it has to offer its most valued loyal customers. The appearance is brilliant in each different car design. It has amazing functions and capabilities in the different types of vehicles youre looking for and the features are like no other youve seen before. It has various upgrades from design, to accessories, built in DVD, compass, four wheel drive. It can function in all seasons with one tire year round. Passenger capacity holds up to 6 people. If you want less passengers and more room, it has an electronic capability to fold a back seat into the floor for more personal room. It is beyond a five star company and I would recommend this to anyone looking for a resilient version of the car.
Six months ago, I bought my 2007 Lexus ES350 from the Lexus of Naperville. This is a Certified Lexus Car. When I bought the car, I was told that nothing goes wrong on a Lexus. But everything has been going wrong in this car. I have had to take it to the dealership three times with various problems. One of the times, the transmission on the car had failed and had to be replaced. This is the most ridiculous thing to happen on a Lexus at 35000 miles. I have always been a Nissan customer and have 3 Nissan vehicles, at home with one of them at 185000 miles; nothing has ever gone wrong in them. This time, I thought I would give Lexus/Toyota a chance and it has failed from all my expectations. Being afraid, if when this car would break down next, is a very stressful at this time. Please let me know how you guys can help with this purchase of mine, so I can have more stress free nights. If you need more info on the vehicle, please email me and I will be happy to send it out. I will also be writing to the consumer board, on how I have been cheated to buy a certified vehicle that breaks down every few months.Below is some of Art ** from Lexuss responses to my complaint: Thank you for contacting Lexus Customer Satisfaction. We are dedicated to providing superior service. In circumstances that require our attention, we will assist in the resolution process. Thank you for providing us with your comments and concerns with your 2007 ES 350. We apologize this vehicle has not met your expectations. We design our vehicles with our customer ownership experience in mind and it is through correspondence such as yours that we are able to continually improve our products. We appreciate the time you have taken to share your thoughts and to provide us with your view. Please be assured that your feedback has been documented at our National Headquarters.
I recently purchased a 2019 Lexus ES 350. I have owned the car for 4 months now. When I originally purchased the car I advised my sales person that the rear speakers were not working. Of course she said yes they are and did some minor adjustments. Then my husband and I were joyriding and he realized there was no output from the rear speakers. So I called Lexus, made an appointment and took the car in for service. Later that day I received a call from the service advisor, advising me there was a problem with the woofer and the speakers but there was nothing they could do about. He stated, We are aware there is an issue but we are waiting on lexus. So I responded, You guys are aware there is an issue with the car but you are not notifying the consumer before purchasing a car? He replied, It looks that way; but as soon as we get a resolution we will inform you.So next I called corporate and spoke with a call center representative and then a supervisor who stated the same thing. We are aware of the problem and will notify you when we have a resolution. Now the problem I have with that is that Lexus has yet to inform or notify the consumer publicly that there is an issue the 2019 Lexus ES350. Instead they are continuing to take our money and we are left to deal with problem. That is so unfair.I have done my research and there have been numerous complaints with no resolution. I would love to expose LEXUS for not addressing this issue nor notifying the public. I am so frustrated and hurt. I just want my car fixed in a timely fashion and not to have other consumers ripped off or taken advantage of. Please call me (**)or respond to me via email to investigate Lexus.
Lexus had issues with brake actuators so the warranty was extended and letters were sent. If you didnt have a problem during the warranty period no action was required and no action would be taken on the vehicle. The warning came up on the dash after the extended warranty was over. We were told by the Dealership Service Manager that Lexus Corporate had always helped in the past on this issue so We had the work done at the Lexus dealership, about $3,500. When Lexus Corporate was contacted the Lexus case manager said they would have to look into it. They called back my cell but left no message at all. I called back but the case manager was unavailable, and I was told they would call back. This same process repeated several times. Finally, I was able to speak with the case manager and was told the policy is strict and nothing is done on extended warranty after the warranty period is over. Why were we not told of the unbending policy from the beginning? To the contrary we were told that Lexus had always covered this issue out of warranty in the past. We could have taken the car for the repairs somewhere else and saved money but were led to believe Lexus would probably provide full relief. Why is Lexus charging full price and making a profit from a known issue?
Purchased my brand new 2010 Lexus RX350 in Jan 2010. Babied it since day 1 of purchase, 26,600 miles to date. Not driven to shores, not flooded, minimal drive in winter, hosed under chassis w/ fresh water. WHY TOTAL RUST UNDER CHASSIS??
Have owned several Lexus models very reliable All models. Only problem on 2013 Rx 350 has been front parking sensor will not go off. Otherwise just brakes and tires have been replaced. Sorry but the above is all I can say about Lexus SUV.
I brought my wife’s 2002 in for regular service to Palm Beach Lexus. It needed tires and some maintenance, which I authorized. After doing the initial work that I had authorized for around $2,500 they sent me an estimate for approximately $8,500 for items they said also needed repair. One of the items they claimed was faulty, was the engine mounts. Since the car only had 66,000 miles on it, I found that hard to believe since they had replaced the engine mounts previously when the car had about 38,000 miles. My wife and I have been Palm Beach Lexus customers for around 20 years and we have purchased 4 Lexus SUVs from them. We have had good service up until 2-3 years ago when they changed service managers, since then the service has gone downhill. We then took the vehicle to an independent repair shop to see what additional service was actually needed. They came to the conclusion that 50% of the estimate that Palm Beach Lexus gave us, was not at all necessary. They claimed the engine mounts were in like new condition and many of the other items on the estimate were absolutely not necessary. I obviously was upset and called Lexus Guest Experience Center and spoke to Eric ** a case manager. He said that since the vehicle was out of warranty they couldnt and wouldn’t do anything to help and he did not seem at all concerned that the Lexus dealership was inflating estimates. He said since we were good Lexus customers he would give us a $1,500 three month Good Will Offer to purchase or lease another Lexus. I received and filed the Good Will email offer because I was planning on turning in my 2016 RX450H for a new vehicle. Two months later I started shopping for a new Lexus at a different dealership because I was not about to use Palm Beach Lexus. When I looked at the Good Will Offer the expiration date was dated the same date I spoke to the case manager (Eric **). I again called Lexus Guest Experience and ended up speaking with someone else. I told that person I was very disappointed that no one ever followed up on my original claim regarding the false estimate I was give from Palm Beach Lexus. And to make matters worse I was also given a Good Will Offer that expired in one day. That person told me I had to speak with Eric ** the original case manager and he would call me back. Eric ** called me back a few days later and seemed to have a bad attitude. I told him I was in the process of leasing or buying a new Lexus and would appreciate it if they could extend the offer. He said the Good Will Offer was only good for 3 months and he would not extend the offer. He said when the offer expires they would review it. Obviously, I was not very happy with his response. A few weeks later, I found a new 2019 Lexus RX450H at J M Lexus that I was planning to get, so I called Eric ** to get the Good Will Offer authorized. It took him a few days to get back to me and when he did he said he wouldn’t authorize the Good Will Offer until after I purchase the new vehicle. I told him that was unacceptable and I wanted to speak with someone else. He said he is the only one that makes that decision. I told him I was going to write a letter to Lexus Headquarters and he said go ahead, but it’s just going to come back to me. After all this I have no intention of ever purchasing another Lexus.
I have a five-year-old Lexus with 50,000 miles. The vehicle is well-maintained yet the paint is wearing off. It is a dark color however, the paint job should last at least 5 years. The hood and the bumpers are worn so thin that they have changed colors.
2014 Lexus 300H, PCS, almost kill me. I bought this car in 2014, and the car started using the brake system by itself. I was driving and the PCS would start flashing and all of the sudden the car came to full stop without reason. It happened 4 times, I took it each time to Lexus of Bellevue, they said they couldnt find the problem. The fourth time I was going 50 miles per hour and the car used the brakes by itself; I span and went into a ditch. Someone called the police and I called the Lexus road assistant. They towed the car, I thank God nothing happen to me or my friend. They looked at the car again and one more time the Lexus service said there is nothing wrong with the PCS. I hired an attorney and we are dealing with them right now. The car has been parked for 3 months now, and I am still paying for something I cant enjoy due that I dont feel safe driving it. Please if you own a Lexus that has PCS and you have experienced similar problem please come forward. Please comment. This system is called PCS, PRE COLLISION SYSTEM, the worst!!
I have Lexus ES350. I left the car in the lot for 3 months came back. Check engine and vsc lights are on, and dealer says that the engine need to be replaced, do not know what to do at this point.
I have been a loyal customer of Lexus for over 25 years and, generally, very happy with the cars; however, most of them I traded/sold before they were 5 years old. My current car is 2010 Lexus 450H that has less than 75,000 miles and was purchased less than 6 years ago. As usual, I am up-to-date with the maintenance schedule on the car and the maintenance is always performed at the service department of the dealership. A few days back, while driving, I noticed the hazard sign turned suddenly on and check hybrid system was flashing. Among the things that I noticed were the failure of cars cruise control and the SOS light turning red.I immediately took the car to the dealership service department, who diagnosed it as the failure of the airbag ECU. The replacement cost me $995.42. My service consultant at the dealership is a very nice gentleman, who said that there was no specific maintenance for the unit. That suggested to me that the unit on the car was defective and Lexus should be replacing it free of charge, but they did not. I have heard that computer malfunctions are not uncommon on the cars made by Toyota Motors. I am so disillusioned with Lexus that I have decided to take my business elsewhere and never buy another Lexus and, hopefully, convince my friends to do the same.
After owning several BMWs, I purchased a 2013 Lexus IS250 Sport. I have been so disappointed with the GPS that I have resorted to using Mapquest on my iPhone. Lexus has been totally unresponsive to my complaints and suggested I upgrade the software. After years of complaints you would think they would invest in their GPS or partner with someone reliable.
2nd and very LAST Lexus from Lexus San Diego! I never thought that service really made a difference if you had a great product. I have since learned that lesson. This dealership is absolutely the worst. They will never call you back. Their sales people wont even call you back! Dumbfounded... I have moved on to Mercedes. If you were to compare the two based on service, Lexus SD would be the equivalent to a 16 yr old waiter at your local burger joint, while Mercedes service would be similar to a maître d’ at one on New Yorks finest restaurants. Thanks for nothing Lexus SD.
When you mention the name Lexus you typically think quality. After all, this is not an inexpensive car! Well, the dashboards in several of their models crack (sometimes, all the way across). Their answers: your car has been left out in the sun too often for too long. Well, I would imagine that most people who own Lexus typically keep them garaged. So, why is it that other brand cars (years old, and left out in the sun) do not crack?? The other issue on some of the newer and more expensive models is that the panels (which are made of a synthetic, plastic-like material) get very sticky to the touch. Lexus answer: they were not made for our hot and humid weather that we have here in the South. Youd think they dont have engineers that test their products?? Or, do they just sell their product in cooler climates?
Lexus has a smaller selection of models than many other luxury brands, but what they do have, how can you go wrong. I would recommend this brand over others, I find it safer, easier to drive, and worth every penny. Depending on the size you buy will determine the amount of people you can comfortably sit within the vehicle. Most models are at least four adults comfortably. I love the heated leather seats, makes winters much more bearable. And the sleek lines of the car make it look good and help with gas mileage, which is great by the way. State of art sound system and navigational system. I want an alarm and a LoJack, no problem, the dealer added it on. I wanted certain floor mats, back seat heaters, tinted windows on the sides along with window visors, I got everything I wanted.
Purchase replacement brakes From Crown Lexus. I have 70K miles on my ES 350 and I had the front brake replaced last year. These were replaced with genuine Lexus parts and wore out in less than 17K miles. So much for Lexus to tout they have reliable products.
This is a great car with great qualities and it gives a great performance with many compliments to the inner side of the car. The inside is comfortable with a nice leather and design overall. There is also a great passenger capacity. It can fit mostly everything and give everyone enough room to have good comfort. I like this car a lot. The build and design are amazing and it is good on gas. There are not many personalization problems and it has great stock options.
I have a 2007 IS250. I bought the vehicle brand new. Ive had several issues with this vehicle, for starters the vehicle inside interior is POORLY crafted. The dash is melting, as well as the door panels. Ive had to replace both headlights. I also had minor engine problems which was covered under warranty. Lexus is rated as one of the top vehicles in the country. I would NEVER EXPECT a TOP RATED vehicle as Lexus to have this sort of issue (interior). I find this to be VERY UNFAIR to myself and other consumers who have purchased this vehicle and also experiencing this problem (interior). Lexus REFUSE to order a RECALL on this issue. If I had known the interior on this vehicle was SO POOR I would have never purchased it. If you are thinking on purchasing this model, the model itself is NICE, OTHERWISE, DO NOT PURCHASE. I just would think a company of the sort (Lexus) would do a MUCH BETTER JOB at listening and HANDLING consumers complaints and protecting LEXUS name. I am sure this complaint is not the only complaint on this particular model (IS250). All the other models Im certain DO NOT HAVE this issue so why not place a RECALL ON THIS PARTICULAR MODEL, AT LEAST THE DASH? Unhappy Consumer. I rate this vehicle???
Full line of sedans, sporty coupes, hybrids and performance vehicles including the IS, GS, LS which are reliable. They look great whether youre going out of the town or to a business meeting and want to make a positive impression. For instance, the IS Turbo has a very aggressive engine that is responsive and sounds great. The seats hug you through the curves. Also, the vehicle comes with the basic amenities that you want in a sports car. You do not buy this vehicle for passenger occupancy but for its high performance and overall driving ability. With that said, I am a good sized man and I fit in the drivers seat comfortably. Overall, I do not have any issues with the vehicle and its been an awesome experience.
