2023 Dodge Hornet spy shots: Alfa Romeo Tonale twin spotted

Stellantis last summer confirmed plans for the launch of a plug-in hybrid by its Dodge brand in 2022, and now we have the first spy shots of a prototype. The vehicle is a compact crossover to be called the Dodge Hornet, and it's set for a debut late this summer. The prototype confirms rumors that the Hornet is actually a twin to the recently revealed 2023 Tonale compact crossover from fellow Stellantis brand Alfa Romeo. Differences appear to be limited to the internals of the headlights, as well as the grille and front fascia treatments, and the wheel patterns. We're likely to see some different elements in the cabins of each vehicle, too. 2023 Alfa Romeo Tonale The platform is the same setup underpinning Jeep's Renegade and Compass. It isn't clear what powertrain(s) the Hornet will receive, but we know the plug-in hybrid powertrain in the Tonale consists of a 1.3-liter turbocharged inline-4 driving the front wheels and an electric motor driving the rear pear, with the two power sources delivering a combined 272 hp. The Tonale has also been announced with a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 that makes 256 hp. It's possible we see both powertrains also offered in the Dodge. Interestingly, Dodge previously used the Hornet name for a hot hatch concept from 2006. The name dates to the Hudsons of the 1950s and was transferred to American Motors Corp. after the company was formed out of the 1954 merger of Hudson and Nash-Kelvinator. AMC was eventually acquired by Chrysler in 1987. Dodge in 2022 will also show off a concept for an electric muscle car due in 2024. The electric muscle car will be based on one of four battery-electric platforms that Stellantis will use for future models across its 14 brands, including an electric Ram 1500 which will also be previewed by a concept this year. Stay tuned.

I bought a new Stelvio Milano Editzione in September 2019.In May 2021 the brake pad warning light illuminated at 8,500 miles.Given the mileage, I assumed it was a fault with the warning light. When I took the car to my nearest dealer I was informed that the rear discs were heavily worn and pitted and that the rear pads had less than 1mm of friction material left. They also confirmed that they wouldnt be covered under the cars 5 year warranty which had been a key consideration in my buying process. The replacement cost was 575.I asked them to clarify why the rear pads and discs were effectively destroyed after only 8,500 miles, while the fronts - which do the bulk of the stopping - were virtually brand new. They were unable to provide an answer. As I needed the car back, I paid the repair bill and kept the displaced discs and pads for the inevitable argument. After contacting Alfa Romeo UK and eventually threatening them with court action, they agreed in writing on the 4th June to cover the replacement cost of the discs and 50% of the pads, amounting to 430.I provided them with my bank details on the 5th June.On the 6th July I had still not received the refund so emailed them again. On the 8th July I received a reply confirming that my refund would be made within 28 days.Perhaps predictably, this didnt happen.I therefore emailed them again on the 6th August which generated a call back to tell me they couldnt find a director to sign off my refund.I spent 50,000 with Alfa Romeo, yet after two months they apparently cant rustle up a 430 refund, as promised in writing???After a further month of getting the runaround but no money, Im now at the point where I feel I have no choice but to recover the monies via the courts.Alfa, I love my Stelvio. It does everything I want. its practical; quick; good in snow; and other than the brakes, has been utterly faultless. However what you laughingly refer as a premium brand customer service, truly stinks. So sad.

Their overpriced STELVIO 2019 13k miles let me down twice already for battery related problems. Electrical needed 2 trips to the garage and is still not working. Paint coming off the bumper and fuel van deforming. 1 day waiting and counting for being rescued after another electrical fail. 7 phone calls to an indifferent customer service could not spare me from waiting such a long time .... and that would be a Premium brand ? Alfa Romeo ... all show and no go,
