2023 Cadillac Escalade V Review and Test Drive

Do you remember the part in the original Jurassic Park movie where Jeff Goldblum’s character, Dr. Ian Malcolm, said, “You did it you crazy son of a b****, you did it”? Well, this week has been much of that statement on repeat as I drive the new 2023 Cadillac Escalade V that touts 682 horsepower from a supercharged V8 engine where I’m in continual disbelief that Cadillac created such a thing, and I wholeheartedly love it!
The new 5th-generation Cadillac Escalade was already one of my favorite body-on-frame SUVs when I first had an opportunity to review it nearly two years ago. Little did I know at the time that Cadillac would come through on the rumors of doing a “V” version of the large SUV. I suppose you can call it a last hurrah to what is capable with the internal combustion engine before electric vehicles start to take over. I totally get what was done here, I’m a huge fan of it, and I wish there was more coming.
Not only does the new Cadillac Escalade V subtly change up its exterior looks a bit to fit the part of a performance version of the big SUV, but it does so with class and to not offend anyone. After all, the Escalade V is something that all types of people will drive – not just someone who seeks a thrill ride because it happens to have a supercharged V8 that pumps out some serious power. Definitively, it’s a vehicle that a family man can drive and hold on tight to his man card, or one that any woman can pilot and laugh at the kid who thought he could jump out in front of her in his Honda Civic Si.
Performance and Driving Character
The new Cadillac Escalade V has a familiar engine that’s found in the new Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing, a 6.2-liter supercharged V8. Only in the Escalade, there are 14 more ponies but a few less lb-ft of torque for a total of 682 horsepower and 653 lb-ft of torque. The power is sent to an all-time four-wheel-drive system but first going through a buttery smooth 10-speed automatic transmission that can shift lighting quick when needed or when in the Sport or V drive modes.
There’s something special to be said about the Escalade V in that Cadillac didn’t just take the Escalade Sport Platinum trim and put the supercharged V8 and it and let it fly – they went the extra mile to make the rest of the vehicle work with that extra 262 horsepower where it doesn’t ever feel sloppy or not up to the task of welding that power and the weight of such a large vehicle. We’re talking about managing just over 6,200 pounds, and thanks to the latest magnetic ride control and a quick-reacting adaptive air suspension system specifically tuned for the Escalade V there’s a welcomed amount of body control that I didn’t think was possible.
I won’t go as far as to claim that the new Escalade V is anything remotely similar to a sports car in terms of handling. However, the Escalade V elevates the scope of what one of the largest SUVs around can do out on the road leaving a huge smile on the driver’s face while toting six other passengers.
The Escalade V is an outright beast, one that takes the engineering from other Escalades and modifies it to handle the extra power while keeping the composure of the body movement. For example, laying into the throttle the Escalade V’s suspension immediately firms up and prevents excess body lift in the front aiding to help keep all four wheels firmly planted on the road. Even during braking, using the beefy 6-piston front Brembo calipers and large steel rotors, the Escalade V reacts to prevent it from plowing, again, surprising the driver with some unexpected control.
Lateral handling is a different story as there’s a lot of heft to contend with but the Escalade V through its unique suspension tuning and the lightning-quick reaction of the magnetic dampers tends to keep body roll in check. There’s even a V drive mode that lowers the ride height for a lower center of gravity if you ever want to be adventurous and carve canyons in your big SUV. Still, in being completely honest and transparent here, the Escalade V is probably the most fun you’ll have in an SUV of this size. However, canyon carving should be done with some restraint because there’s only so much stability control can do in fighting the laws of physics handling 6,200 pounds on four all-season 22-inch tires.
The last characteristic that must be mentioned is the sound that the Escalade V makes. To put it simply, the exhaust is one of the best parts of such a vehicle that emits ear titillation that first seems out of place. There are six drive modes, Tour, Sport, Snow/Ice, Tow/Haul, My Mode, and V mode. In the Tour mode the exhaust is in its middle setting, which remains to be rather loud, especially under moderate to full acceleration. Closing the exhaust valves for a “Stealth” sound setting requires you to bring up the My Mode setting to dial in certain vehicle characteristics, including the exhaust where things aren’t as boisterous unless you go full throttle where the valves automatically open. There are even deceleration burbles that you get from the exhaust at times, which are hilarious to hear in such a luxurious huge SUV. Using the V drive mode and launching the big Caddy you’ll hit 60 mph in about 4.4 seconds – not the fastest thing around but it’s something special for such a big vehicle to move out like this does. Cadillac didn’t hold back, and they make the presence of the Escalade V well known when you put your foot into it, and I just love it.
Fuel Economy
The new Cadillac Escalade V isn’t shy about being the raucous large body-on-frame SUV that it is. That theme continues deep into its boastfulness in drinking copious amounts of required premium unleaded fuel to the tune of the EPA-estimated 11 mpg city and 16 mpg highway. Around town you’ll expect to get close to the 11-mpg figure, especially when you are having fun listening to that growing exhaust note that turns heads – you can literally see the digital fuel gauge moving during those times. I am happy to report that you can better those figures where I saw a steady 18.4 mpg on the Interstate traveling at 75 mph for just over 230 miles. That was actually surprising and pleasing at the same time considering the price of gas these days. The 24-gallon fuel tank could have been a little larger as the highway cruising range is just over 410 miles if you go by the 16 mpg EPA figure. Either way, no one buying the Escalade V is going to complain much considering you’re already paying six figures for such a vehicle – just know that visiting the gas station will be a regular occurrence.
Interior and Technology
Just like the rest of the Escalade lineup, the Escalade V features a luxurious interior and only changes a few things such as adding the V drive mode button and placing a few “V” logos throughout. Otherwise, you have a cabin that’s indicative of a luxury land yacht, or at least one that’s almost as large.
The highlight of the interior is the prided curved OLED screens that make up 38-inches of real estate featuring the 16.9-inch infotainment touchscreen, 14.2-inch digital gauge cluster, and a 7.2-inch touch control panel for display of the trip computer, toggle of the screen information (gauges, navigation map, augmented reality camera display, night vision toggle), and color heads-up-display (HUD) adjustments. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto nicely integrate into the curved infotainment screen in a scaled down section of the display. The wireless charging pad slot is actively cooled to keep your smartphone from overheating, which is a welcomed and often overlooked feature of most new GM vehicles.
The infotainment system has a short learning curve to overcome but having the ability to control it through either the touchscreen or physical buttons and a control knob adds to its user-friendliness. The crispness and brightness of the OLED on-screen icons and displays make it easy to land on the proper control each time as does having the set of physical automatic climate controls below the screen with their own color LED display. There’s also something to be said about the attention to detail of the screens being wrapped in stitched leather and the quality of materials used throughout the cabin of the Escalade V. You also get heated, ventilated, and massaging front seats, and the second-row captain’s chairs are heated. I only wish the seat massage function was applied to the lower part of the seat instead of just the seat back. Fundamentally, the Escalade V takes all of what you get in the Escalade Sport Platinum trim and surrounds it with a beastly powertrain – that’s the V in a nutshell. Three rows of strap-in and hold on for some luxurious fun.
Safety
All the expected active safety features are included in the Escalade V with the exception of leaving General Motor’s delightful SuperCruise out of the equation on my test vehicle, which has limited availability (possibly due to the chip shortage) but is said to return at a later date. Otherwise, you still get adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitors, lane departure warning/keep assist, rear cross-traffic alert and emergency braking, forward collision warning with emergency braking/pedestrian detection, a 360-degree camera system, and the welcomed digital rearview mirror.
Price
The pay-to-play equation is fitting for the new Cadillac Escalade V as the pricing is set just at $149,485 with my test vehicle coming to $151,280 with just the only options being a console refrigerator w/freezer and the Argent Silver Metallic paint color option. In all, that’s not an outrageous price for what you get in the fastest body-on-frame luxury SUV around. I’ll certainly be on the lookout for this hurrah at a “reasonable price” to place one in my garage one day before EVs start to take over.

Cadillac has the Escalade for those who like the extra room. They have the XT5 Crossover for those who want room, class, and style. They also have the coupe for those who is responsible but also having a fun side. Smart with the body shape. Sharp with the wheels and styling with the inside and outside looks. The car also include extra such as leather seats, a chrome grill, and tint on the window. The back is extra roomy. The passenger seat can both recline and go up and down. If you are tall, short, or big bone you can always adjust the seat to fit your size. You can get it how you want to. The only downside is the pricing. If you is willing to pay you can have a comfortable styling car. You can get a unique color. But Im very happy with choice.

2004 Cadillac SRX - I purchased a 2004 Cadillac SRX a few years ago 85,000 miles. Ive never heard of the car and was excited to own such a great looking car. Everywhere I went people gave me compliments (I had to swag it out a bit :) ). I loved the way this car looked - it definitely stands out from the rest. However, this car was a love hate relationship - starting from the 1st week. The car spent more time in repair shop than I actually drove it. Im a bit smarter now. Purchasing a car close to 100k is a bad idea. You just might as well buy a newer car. The repairs went into the thousands easily. Everything was breaking down and needed to be replaced. I was afraid to even drive the car after while, because the car can just shut down if there is a problem (youre unaware of)/I wouldve like some type of warning sign. Long story short - I ended up parking the car for a while until I was able to buy a new car (foreign). I still love they way they look but I would never buy one again. These cars are all over Craigslist now for pretty cheap which should tell you a lot.

Well I have heard a lot of stories about the Cadillac CTS and did not believe them until now. I bought my 06 CTS in February 2012. The car only had 38,000 miles on it. I heard a little ticking sound coming from the driver side part of the engine and had it looked at. The maintenance tech said it might have just needed an oil change so I had him do it. Which of course did not stop the problem. So I had spoke to a couple of friends and family members to ask them what they thought and of course no one really knew. I kept up on the oil changes and always checked my fluids since I drove this car a lot back and forth between my home and Columbus and the car never gave me a problem just had a light ticking sound. Well needless to say August 20th 2013 I was heading back to Columbus and my engine gave up and was done. It blew up at my half way point to Columbus so I had my car towed to Germain Cadillac and paid $260.00 in a tow fee and asked them to look at it while I called GM. I waited a month just to find out my car was not going to be covered even though my warranty ran out of time not mileage and now they are wanting $200.00 for the inspection they did. GM is saying that there was burnt oil and that my car threw a rod and a bearing through the block. I still owe on the car and have not had it long enough to have these kind of problems with it. This is crazy. I showed them where the car had maintenance done on it every time I traveled and that the oil was changed every 6,000 to 7,000 miles. I am now looking to go forward with a class action Lawsuit.

I have a 2013 Cadillac SRX. Right at 52k, my cue touchscreen started not working and then eventually stopped working altogether. Now I cant change the radio, pair my phone, control the AC, set the safety features on the car. Brought it to the Cadillac dealership, $150 diagnostic to tell me I need a radio control unit. First they say GM will offer some cost assistance. 7 weeks later the RCU is still on back order. After several complaints to Cadillac they say its the first that they heard of it. Yet there are so many back ordered because they are failing at an alarming rate. Cadillac stills holds the line that your warranty expired and you are on the hook. I hate Cadillac. I used to love the car and my Cadillac user experience sucks. Looking for an answer.

I will never buy a GM and my family and their families will know my disgusting experience with your GM vehicle and horrible staff especially the CEO of GM. NEVER PURCHASE A GM. Horribly manufactured with horrible customer service, if you can ever get a one the phone. My customer service on my Caddy was just horrible and the repair warranty was the worse. Plus, all inferior plastic parts in the Cadillac are disintegrating before my very eyes. And this a low mileage car that was very expensive but built with inferior materials. All glam and hype but no quality. NO MORE GM FOR ME, FAMILY, FRIENDS, AND FRIENDS OF FRIENDS.And one more thing, there has been a knocking in my engine from the day I drove it off the lot but somehow every time I took it in to have GM their mechanics always told me thats normal for this type of vehicle to have knocking in the engine. When I took my vehicle outside of GM to be looked at by Cadillac mechanics, I have been told that this was not normal for this Cadillac to be knocking all the time. I rest my case with GM and whoever is running GM. Plus the windshield was never put in properly. It is just a badly made vehicle with the brand name Cadillac. What a shame for such a classic. Horrible experience with GM dealership, GM customer service and tried to reach the CEO Mary.

I have a 2009 Cadillac SRX AWD Sport (top of the line!). The sticker was for $52,170. It is the most expensive piece of crap I have ever purchased. But I am stuck with it because the CARFAX and Repair history, basically, makes it non-tradable or sellable.This car has been in the shop about every 2 1/2 weeks over the 2 years I have owned it. 46 issues have been fixed or replaced. I called Cadillac Customer Service for help. I was assigned a District Rep, who does not call me back, and never answers his phone when I call. He has been dodging me for over a month now. I want my B2B warranty extended to cover the stuff that keeps falling off, because I only have 3k miles left on the factory B2B, and the extended GM warranty does not cover things like trim, vents, handles, doors, etc.The district rep said When you make as many cars as Cadillac, some of them are not going to be perfect and then proceeded to get me to hang up the phone. I have not gotten to speak with him since. I guess, once Cadillac has written you off, you are dust to them. The dealership has been wonderful but GM/Cadillac, not so much. Some of the things had to be argued to get it fixed.

I purchased a 2012 Cadillac SRX with Navigation. It is a piece of trash. It doesnt place me within 1000 feet of my desired target and gives wrong messages as far as turning directions. I discussed the problem with the Cadillac District Rep and he said its as good as it gets. The Nav system is a $2400+ add-on. My advice? Dont buy a Cadillac. Their customer service stinks. I am among millions whose tax money went to a GM bailout. The company should have heavy-hitter legal action against them.

Today I was parked at a store 4 blocks from my house and the rear windshield on my 2012 CTS coupe just exploded! It was in the garage prior to me going to the store and hadnt been driven in two days. Nothing hit it, it was cold, but in the 30s. Dont know why it happened and even though my car is still under warranty, the glass is not. So its $500+ out of my pocket. Very unhappy.

I have been really happy with this car make and model (Cadillac SRX). Performance is wonderful, it is great on fuel economy and the price we got it for is superb. Also, the body style is sleek and modern and is a very pretty car that drives like a luxury Sedan more so than a Crossover vehicle. However, since purchasing there have been a few minor maintenance hiccups. Nevertheless, I love this car the most of all cars I have ever owned.

Weve owned 3 CTSs in the last 10 years. Why so many? Well, we like to change for the sake of change. And in between noir Cads weve had Lexus, M-B, and BMW. THEY ALL HAVE THEIR PLUSES AND MINUSES. Its personal choice, but our used CTS was affordable to buy and is affordable to own (have you ever replaced brakes or suspension in a Beemer?). It seats 5, although rear seating can be cramped for long legs. Features are nicely appointed, and the body is good, with good trunk space. Our 13 has sunroof with electric retracting shade; good enough for even hot Arizona days. Never had even a pickup with our 3.0 V-6, which provides more power than needed for everything except burnouts!

I bought a 2007 Cadillac CTS about 3 years ago and the car only have 51,000 miles right now and is in the dealer getting a major repair because half of the motor has no compression. The car had no oil but the engine light never turned on to let me know. And once the car stopped running, that was when the engine light finally turned on. I really dont know what good is to complain if I am not going to get the repair for free but, it would be nice if all these complaints about Cadillac go public on national television. The government bailed out GM with the tax payer money and they are still screwing up. That car was my dream car and now, its my nightmare car. I will never buy a Cadillac again.

Hello. Just wanted to seek help from this frustrating issue Ive been having with my Cadillac 2013 SRX. I purchased my vehicle in 2016 from CARMAX a certified car dealer. I drove it for about a couple weeks to have the display QUEUE system to go completely black where the radio, navigation, heat and everything couldnt be accessed and my Liftgate trunk could not open!! Carmax was very helpful to reach out to Thornton Chevrolet in getting it taken care of which I had to wait awhile due to the Radio was on back order!! My frustration is that I was told that the Cadillacs sunroofs drainage tubes are draining in the area where the Liftgate module is housed causing the motherboard to burn up or fry once the water hit it!! I feel this should be a recall and have reached out to GM with no solution being its fried again and wont open with a musty damp smell!! I am allergic to mold and have respiratory issues and I pray this situation doesnt cause a flare!! All they quoted me is a price to reseal and change the Liftgate Module out again with no guarantee that it wont happen again and Im approaching the end of my warranty!!! I feel so sad and lost because I love my SRX. Just wish they could call a recall on these issues because theres so many negative reviews about these issues!! Last it wouldve been no different had I bought this vehicle from Cadillac vs Carmax so dont say this again please, yall made the dern vehicle!!!

Well beloved Cadillac and GM owners, we all bought into the American dream and were betrayed. My story is exactly the same as everyone else. Radiator blows out of nowhere. I was told I was liable for the damages. Dex coolant issue. Im distressed to hear the exact same thing has happened to several others. I told the service center manager to cut his ** and he sounded like he was about to have a nervous breakdown. I am glad to see others testimony; however, Im disturbed because its like deja vu.People need to stop lying down on these issues. People (GM) need to be held accountable. The government needs to listen to the people about GM. Our economy is going to collapse if people believe they are being betrayed simply for buying into the American dream. This is not the way to instill buying confidence in the American consumer. Toyota, Acura, Honda, Mitsubishi, okay. But in the immortal words of Woody Harrelsons character in Zombieland, You dont ** with another mans Cadillac.Protest to your local dealership, throw hundreds of business cards/flyers across their lots with statements of your experience. If everyone has the same stories, it will pick up attention. Post Facebook articles or comment on fan pages (there are a few). We are not complaining about our government or other free services and I know none of us expect a handout. We are complaining about being lied to for being hardworking, taxpaying, American car owners. However, in the end, we are suckers. Buying a Cadillac SRX was a HUGE MISTAKE. I bought a used Cadillac SRX in January of 2019 and it was the worst mistake. I have had to spend over $4000 in repairs within the first year and Cadillac has been of NO HELP at all. In fact, they gave me overinflated prices for the repairs and incorrect assessment of the issue.Firstly, my rear bearing went. Nothing to be done about that except to fix it. Repairs were just under $800. Next month, my lift gate failed and dropped right on my head. After moving out of the way and letting the lift gate fall closed, it refused to open again. Not manually and not with any of the power buttons. We brought it into a dealership and after a $70 inspection, they said it was fused shut and they didn’t know why. They quoted my $450 to break open the rear lock. On top of that $450 price tag would be a new diagnostic to see what the root problem was. The mechanic said it could be the module, the struts, the shocks or even the motor. With all that, I would then need to reprogram the module for another $150. As I was deliberating what to do next, the Cue system (the touchscreen where everything relies on) stopped working. I had no central control over heating, music, navigation or anything else, on top of no trunk. I took my car to a mechanic who boasted previous work for Cadillac to see what his prices were. He charged me $0 to open my trunk! He used the manual release hidden behind the tail light. Why wouldn’t Cadillac do that?? Instead they tried to charge me $450 for a whole new lock system. After that, he told me that there was a problem that plagued a lot of SRXs. The moon roof drainage lines, when backed up, leak into the trunk of the SRX (under the spare tire area). So, we checked and yes indeed, there were 2-3 gallons of water in my trunk. The lift gate module and the motor were both submerged. So, in the end I had to pay for the 2 new struts, new motor and new module. I now have to go back to Cadillac to have the module reprogrammed (as only Cadillac can do it). They are charging me $150 for that, and offer NO help at all. Unfortunately, there will be a real chance of it happening again, as there was no way to fix the drainage problem.To fix my Cue system, Cadillac quoted me $1400. This mechanic I went to and replaced it while I waited and only charged me $400. That’s a $1000 difference in this one aspect alone. My car is only a 2014. It has 86,000 km which is just outside their warranty period. Cadillac boast their comfort, their quality and their care for their drivers. Well I say BULL. When I bought a Cadillac, I thought I would have a quality vehicle that would last, while providing a comfort that my children and I would love. That did not happen. At all. Buying a Cadillac was the worst car decision I have ever made and it has cost me thousands of dollars and dozens of hours in repair time. I will not buy a Cadillac again and I highly discourage anyone buying a SRX. It is not worth it. Sure, its pretty but mine is the sourest of all LEMONS.

It has plenty of standard features and offers a lot of options such as all wheel drive and front wheel drive, special wheels, GPS, heated and cooled seats, accident avoidance and lane alert. Radio is very good and OnStar is great. Front seats have plenty of room but back seat is limited. Cargo space is good but rear seats fold and that you definitely have plenty of room. However, clearance for snow is poor and has a bad transmission. Would not recommend and Cadillac customer hotline is awful. They never respond and dont care.

I have a 2004 Cadillac Deville DTS. I bought it with 8,000 miles. Now, its 150,000 miles and mostly highway miles. Further, its always garaged and in immaculate condition and religiously maintained at dealership. But three window regulators required replacing, including both rear doors. Now, the drivers side rear door needs a regulator and/or a control module. That door has to be manually locked or unlocked now. I have no kids, and I live alone. No one uses that door but me to carry groceries. Estimate again is $500 or so. I planned to replace this car at 200,000 miles. I have not decided that Im willing to spend another $500 on the windows and door locks. Mechanical problems at this mileage would be acceptable to a degree. However, the same failures of electrical components that secure the vehicle and passenger safety are unacceptable for a vehicle of this promoted quality. My replacement car will not be a GM vehicle.

Cadillac looks very luxurious and delightful. I enjoy the comfort it gives and the technology the most. Its very beautiful and simple yet evolutionary. I love the sleekness each model gives. It is so much different than others. Such as one is made for families while others may be made for romance or business. I do not often contain passengers in my car but when I do my guests seems to love it. My model may only carry 5 passengers but overall its great. The GPS is great and it gives such accurate information. I never get lost anymore. The speakers are crisp and clear and the airbags are regularly checked. I love how regular checks are free and so are the repairs.

I have a 2015 Cadillac CTS and it’s been nothing but problems once I passed 65,000. The rear differential began to go out around this time. Also the CUE in dash screen began to crack internally around 74,000 miles. Both are very expensive items to replace. Cadillac only offered to pay for 40% of my differential repairs even though the differential began to go out under warranty. Also the CUE screen is no longer under warranty. This is my first car where I need to have 2 major repairs and the car is under 100,000 miles. SMH.

This is great, and reliable choice of vehicle. It may be expensive to buy new, but just buy it used at a good price, and you will be more than happy. Its fancy, and makes you feel good. Its silver, with nice trim, and good rims. Its also a smooth ride. The name brand says it all, its definitely a caddy. There is many different choices you can pick from when it comes to upgrades and whatnot, but mine was bought used, so it came with whatever. You can also fit a good amount of people in the car, and still is comfortable because its such a nice car. It just depends on how large the other passengers are. Its worth every penny.

I have had an ongoing intermittent problem with the display being static or shutting completely off. The vehicle is having an idle problem when the vehicle is stopped and when accelerating. When I expressed my frustration to the service manager, he told me, Well, GM makes the car; we have nothing to do with that. I responded that they sold me the car. I want the vehicle fixed and I dont want to bring the car in for a third time for the same problem.

Defects in car that I bought that was not disclosed to me - I’m speaking with you about a 2001 Cadillac at Naperville Auto and Cycle Outlet (NAC Outlet) at 1560 W. Ogden Ave, Suite #300 (Highway 34) in Naperville, IL, 60540-3998, phone number 847-329-0021, Dealer # 2698. On Monday August 6, 2012, my wife and I were told by the salesman that the 2001 Cadillac was one of their Certified Cars. He said that not all of their cars were certified. ** told us that meant that their mechanics had gone over the car and determined that it was in excellent mechanical condition. While test-driving the car, an indicator on the instrument panel displayed that the oil was at 87%. When brought to his attention, ** promised to have the oil changed and told my wife and I that they used only synthetic oil in the Cadillac (it was later proven not to be synthetic oil); and that if we had any more problems with the car, to let him know and he would take care of it. ** (the salesman) also told us that the car had Bluetooth, which I later discovered it does not have. ** also told us that the car had an active OnStar system. I later discovered that cars made before 2005 have an analog system, which means that I would have to purchase a $1,700.00 digital upgrade in order for the OnStar system to function.On our trip back to Fayetteville, TN, after stopping at the 3rd Toll station in IL, the indicator on the instrument panel came on again displaying 87% oil. This time the indicator went off as soon as we started moving and did not come back on again during the rest of the trip home. A few days later, I flew out to Phoenix, AZ to volunteer for the Boy Scouts of America for 8 days. I had only driven the car a few days after that 13-hour drive back home from Naperville, IL. I returned home August 27, 2012. My wife told me that the oil light was illuminated again, as well as the check coolant light has displayed in the instrument panel, and that she had noticed a puddle under the Car.I immediately took the car to the Express Oil Change, where I have all my oil change. The cars oil indicator was at 87% oil and the check coolant indicator had come up on the instrument panel - after only 1,200 miles of driving the car, most of which was from the drive home from Naperville, IL to Fayetteville, TN. I asked the Express Oil Change mechanic to check the oil and coolant. They told me that the oil stick was dry and that the car had only 3 quarts of oil in it (the car takes 7 quarts). The mechanic told me that the engine was burning up. He then recommended that I park the car and not drive it. He told me that the car was dangerous and that I was lucky that it had not blown up. They captured the 3 quarts of oil and told me it was regular oil and not synthetic oil as I was told by the salesman, ** at the NAC Outlet. I then called the dealership and spoke to **. He told me to take the car to a mechanic and have their mechanic talk to his mechanic, so they could talk technical terms because it was all Greek to him because he was not a mechanic. I took the car that day to the local GM dealer, Carriage Chevrolet. They put the car on the rack and saw that there was an extreme amount of oil leaking from both head gasket covers, the oil pan and the oil sensor, as well as coolant leaking. A puddle of coolant had leaked onto the ground after only 4 to 5 minutes on the rack. After an exterior check of the engine, the GM mechanic stated that this was an ongoing problem because the coolant as well as the oil had turned to a thick grease type material. I was also informed of a 10-page bulletin that GM had put out on the 2001 Cadillac SLS, with the Northstar engines on August 27, 2004, where the motor was required to be pulled and numerous gaskets, seals, bolts, cylinders, bushing, plates, alignment pins, spark plug tube seals, main seal, flywheel bolts, both head gaskets, rod bolts, and many more items needed to be replaced.I called ** at NAC Outlet and let him talk to the GM mechanic, as requested. The mechanic explained the problems they saw externally and informed ** of the 10-page bulletin that GM had put out on the 2001 Cadillac SLS, with the Northstar engines. ** got very angry with the mechanic and me, and hung up the phone on us. I called ** back on August 28, 2012. ** said this was out of his hands and I would have to talk to the sales manager. He said he would have ** call me. I called to talk with ** on August 30, 2012 at 3:00 pm (the time ** told me ** would be in) and was told ** was not there.I called back on August 31, 2012, and again was told ** was not there. I finally talked to ** at about 5:00 pm that afternoon. ** told me to call him back on Tuesday, September 4, 2012. When I did, I was told again that ** was not there. At that point (September 4, 2012), I called the Illinois State Attorney General’s office. They told me they would send me a form to file a complaint against the NAC Outlet, which I later received. I called NAC Outlet again on September 6, 2012, at 5:45 pm and was told that ** was at the regional headquarters of GM and having a meeting with his buddy about my problems with the 2001 Cadillac SLS that I had purchased from NAC Outlet.On September 7, 2012, ** told me to call Jennie in GM’s Customer Service at (678) 240-9885 on Friday (September 8, 2012). When I did, I spoke to Araba in Public Relations, who told me that Jennie had never worked in Customer Service, but that she was her assistant and would give the information to the Customer Care Department and I would hear from them by Monday, September 10, 2012. I received an email on September 10, 2012 from Wes, GM Southeast Customer Activities Manager, stating that unfortunately, they could not help me with this issues since the vehicle was purchased from a non-GM dealer and that GM would review my service concerns if I would provide them with the Cadillac vehicle number and a list of issues. I responded that same day and have yet to hear anything back from the GM regional headquarters in Naperville, IL.I again called ** at NAC Outlet on September 11. He said he was scheduled to have a meeting with the NAC Outlet owners at 3:00 pm on September 13, 2012, and for me to call him back at 4:45-5:00 pm that afternoon, and he would have a resolution for me, and that he did not lie! I phoned back at 5:15 pm per **’s request. ** told me that he had completely forgotten to talk to them, but that one of the NAC Outlet owners would be in at 10:00 am the next morning (September 14, 2012), and he would get him in his office as soon as he came in, and to call him at 10:15 am. I called back per **’s request at 10:15 am on September 14, 2012 and was told ** was outside and to call back in 5 minutes. I called back at 10:30 am and was told ** was in the bathroom and to give him a few minutes. I called back at 10:45 and talked with **. He said that it was a total surprise to the one owner, about my problems with the car. I asked to speak with the owner who was there. ** said he would turn the baton over to the owner and have him call me right back. After not hearing from either of them 2 hours later, I called back at 12:45 pm. **, the salesman, told me that ** and both of the NAC Outlet owners were in a meeting with both doors closed, a barrier up, the shades drawn, and had asked not to be disturbed. I called back at 2:50 pm. ** told me that ** had gone to a nearby town, an hour away, and would be back by 5:00 or 5:30 pm. I called back at 5:52 pm giving ** plenty of time to get back and was told by ** that ** had stopped for a glass of ice tea and had called him to say he would be about 25-30 minutes late. ** also told me that ** had put a note on his desk to call me as soon as he returned to the dealership. I called back at 6:46 pm and was told by the evening guy that ** had gone home for the day. He told me that there was a note on **’s desk to call me when he returned to the dealership (September 14, 2012), but ** was gone for the day, and that he had no way to get hold of **. I explained to him what had happened that day, and he told me that ** was scheduled to be in from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm the next day. I called back the next day (September 15, 2012) at 10:49 am and spoke to ** who told me that ** had not come in yet. I called back at 1:22 pm and was told by ** that **’s car was there, so he checked and said ** would call me back in 10 minutes. I called back at 1:45 pm and ** told me that ** was in his office. ** went to tell ** I was on the phone and came back and said that ** was mad and that ** said that he was trying to work the problem out with the owners. ** told me that ** had cursed him out and told him to tell me that he did not know he was on a stopwatch, and if I pushed him about this, he wasn’t going to do nothing about the car. ** then assured me that ** would call me back and ** did not call.

The XTS Sedan is a big car that handles really well. It was a very nice ride for a short trip down the road or to a family member a few states away. Five people can sit comfortably, and theres good trunk space to take all their stuff. Lots of leg room and the seats were nice to sit in even for long periods of time. It has very nice interior and up to date technology. The outside was very casual and not too flashy so it didnt draw too much attention. I had no trouble getting them to customize the car with upgraded stereo, 20 inch rim color of my choice. They really let you build your own.

I have 10,000 miles on the car after a year and I am getting about 18 miles per gallon. Best I ever got was 22 going from Fort Lauderdale to Orlando, all highway. They simply lied to the consumers. The government needs to step in and fine them. If there is a class action lawsuit on this, I would like to join!

It’s the best car I ever drove in my life and I gave it as a gift for my wife. She was more than happy to have a CTS. She drove it till the first service. We took it to the service in Dubai (Garhood branch). After the service by 3 weeks, we were coming from Abu Dhabi to Dubai and driving at normal speed of 130 km/h, then suddenly the we heard a bomb sound and a smoke coming from the engine. Thank God we stopped and no one crashed us from back. The street was full of oil from the damaged engine. We called the street help and then we took the car to the service at Garhood branch in Dubai. And after a day they called us and said, “Sorry, the engine is damaged. We will send an approval to GM mother company to change the engine. But we don’t want to repair it because it wasn’t our mistake.” The car must be changed and they ignored me. Kindly support me in this.

Before I go into my review...I should have known! I am the sucker! GM has a great marketing Dept. Years ago, my dad owned a 2000 Seville DHS Sedan. It had major issues with door actuators and ignition key jamming. Cadillac of Troy charged my dad big money to fix. It never got fixed. I remember the ignition key jamming a week before we sold that car after dad passed away. Our mom had a 1998 Cadillac Eldorado STS 2 door coupe. She hated that car and sold it. Said it was a piece of junk. So after both our parents pass away, what do I do??? I buy me a 2010 Cadillac SRX Performance Edition AWD. A week after I bought it, it rained real hard. I had swimming pools in the driver’s side and passengers side. I bought it used BTW. Researched roof leaks to find out 300,000 of these had the same issuer and there was an ongoing class action suit by people vs the state of California. Didnt help me, I am in Michigan.After I hollered lemon law, the used car dealer finally goes ahead and fixes the roof leak. Took them two months. I get the vehicle back and check engine light goes on. I have a P0017 code, possible bad timing chain. Finally after crying for 4 months, I get the warranty people (GWC Warranty) to finally fix my timing chain. WoooHhhooo!!! Dont get your hopes up too soon, for a week later, I have a P2135 code. Cadillac forums tells me I have a bad TPS sensor, but its better to replace the throttle body for its all built in. I do that.Three days after new throttle body I get a P0442 code. Possible bad purge valve solenoid sensor. Replaced that too. Did it myself. Got the parts online from BOSCH. Didnt feel like renting another car for a week while the warranty people Fixed my Cadillac. A week later I have a P0455 code, EVAP large leak detected. Now I have an appointment with Suburban Cadillac of Ann Arbor tomorrow 11/15/18 for them to run a smoke test to pinpoint what exactly is wrong with my Cadillac. Not fixing it. Mind you just the test, hopefully I go from there. Praying the good Lord shines luck my wait and the darn thing runs trouble and worry free for 1 year. For paying $13,999 USD with a service warranty putting it at $16,000 I was hoping for better reliability than this.

My wife and I recently rented a 2017 Cadillac XTS. We wanted to try it out before we bought one. Immediately after starting out we tried to use the CUE system and discovered that it is dangerous to use as it is totally distracting and takes your eyes off the road. It is very difficult to use the controls and activate them. I tried to plug my iPod in and it immediately froze up the system. It was extremely difficult to activate the A/C, heating and radio, stereo controls. This system is a complete failure and a deathtrap as it is dangerous to use. I hear as well that they are very prone to failure and not covered under the radio type warranty. What a failure for a car like a Cadillac where a person lays out high multi thousands of dollars. Cadillac needs to dump this system and replace it with one that this car should have. How disappointing. The car itself had adequate power but rode no better, braked no better or did it handle on curves and straight a ways any better than my 2010 Terrain. The seats were hard and uncomfortable on a long trip. As well the transmission did not do anything better than my 2010 Terrain. I expected a lot lot more from a Cadillac especially for the asking price but the car and the company did not deliver. Cadillac is asking way to much for this car and it does not deliver In conclusion we will not be buying any Cadillac of any kind and have decided to go with an Audi. We DO NOT recommend a Cadillac of any kind to any one.

Someone should be responsible other than myself. Theres always a recall on these cars. I think as much as they cost the warranty should be longer and your parts should not go out as quickly as they do. A brand new car that has only been driven 52000 miles and your alternator is going out. GM should be responsible all the maker of the alternator.

I bought a 2014 Cadillac in early 2017, fresh off of a 2 year lease with just under 17,000 miles on it. It was my dream to own a Cadillac so I finally took the plunge. Ive lovingly babied it, its literally been used only for trips as I work from home. 18 months later, the CUE is out at a cost of $1500 and something about some hub things that wear out in the front causing the car to sound like it is revving all the time. Total cost to get my barely 3 year old car with 37000 miles on it fixed? $2800. Im getting it fixed and going to trade it in on a Kia. Sorry Cadillac, my family has been GM for 4 generations, but Im done. I wish I had read the reviews on the CUEs and GMs lack of response to their failure before my purchase.

The passenger capacity is very large depending how you put down. You choose it to be up eight cars seats for many. The upgrades on the car is very nice too and you can get upgrade at a local store. So far I have had nothing but problems with my 2009 CTS. Ive gotten to the point where I absolutely regret even seeing it for sale on the lot, I wish I had bought ANYTHING else. I bought the car last year with around 80k miles on it. The first thing that should have been a sign that their customer service was in the toilet was when my local Cadillac dealer did a $100 oil change for me. They failed to attach the rock shield to the bottom of the car and after it tore off sounding like all hell breaking loose in their lot, they blamed me for my car missing a screw.. underneath... like I daily check those screws. And if it was missing why the heck did it stay on the car until they worked on it? My car is still naked under there. Thanks Cadillac.After a month of having the car I get the check engine light. I connect to OnStar who tells me my Auxiliary Water pump is going out. $250 later thats all better. After two months my rear door locks stopped working, I called the dealer and gave up when I was quoted $400 in labor alone. Fast forward another two months and now my car consistently overheats. Additionally I got that bad water pump code AGAIN (gosh those things are made well) - $250 AGAIN and its all better.My Daytime running lights go on and off randomly, one at a time. I look so great in my car. No one even has a clue as to why this is happening. Now my Forward adaptive lighting has started to malfunction. The passenger side bulb has turned completely purple, which sounds cool but none of the other ones are. I didnt mind replacing it myself so I started looking into it. So I have to remove the entire front of the car to change the headlight. OK no problem, Im no Einstein but I can handle some screws right? That wouldnt be a problem if I could find the bulb.I contacted Customer Service and they were anything but friendly. I tried to get help finding out where to get the bulb, but the guy copied and pasted me a bunch of website addresses that I had already searched to no avail trying to find the headlight assembly. Then asked me what I was hoping to get from contacting them, what an **. I just WANT A PART NUMBER. WHY IS THAT SO HARD?At this point Ive decided I HATE my car and Cadillac in general. I thought they had really shifted gears, and I really enjoyed my older V which is why I bought this car, but boy howdy this is the biggest piece of junk Ive ever owned. So now I have a 2009 Cadillac that I cant lock the doors on or drive at night, and Im scared to take it out of town because Im afraid the mystery auxiliary water pump will strand me. Im borrowing a friends 2000 Toyota to make my trip. Is this really the new Cadillac? I feel duped, tricked and stuck with this thing. If anyone from Cadillac happens to see this, Id love to know where to get that bulb. Im visually impaired in one eye so having two headlights would be great. Let me know.

The options that come standard are decent and the fit and finish is well worth the price paid. I would definitely recommend their offerings over competitors.

On October 26th, 2012, our 2009 Cadillac SRX was hit by a kicked-up rock on a local tollway. The cargo area window on the drivers side was completely shattered. This window also houses the antennae for the navigation system. The SRX model was redesigned beginning with the 2010 models so this window is no longer used. GM has had this window on backorder for months, if not years. It does not have a manufacturer for this window, and obviously has no plans to obtain a manufacturer. There is no ship date! I will never purchase another Cadillac or GM product and I will make it my mission to spread the word about the totally unsatisfactory experience Ive had with this brand.

I am shocked this isnt covered under the 100k Engine and Drive Train Warranty. Maybe thats why the extended warranty mileage has recently been reduced significantly. I called Cadillac on 5/42018 to get warranty information on my daughters Cadillac ATS. I explained the problems and was told by Elise that a service rep would contact me in two days. I asked, Since today is Thursday will I get a call by Saturday or Monday. She stated, Monday 5/7/2018 no later. On May 8, 2018 I called again due to dealer needing to know what my decision was on repairs and again I was told I would get a call on Monday, May 7th, 2018.Here it is Monday, May 7, 2018 and I have not received a call from anyone at Cadillac. I called them four times and was hung up on 3 times. My daughter was hung up on and when my daughter called back the Rep Nash kept rudely talking over my daughter and interrupting her explaining the issues. Nash kept insisting she put my daughter in voicemail instead of putting her on hold. Our response from Cadillac is April the service advisor is not available. The Rep refused to let her hold for April. It is now 6:50 p.m. CST and still no return call from April (service rep) from Cadillac. Very poor customer service, and disrespectful. They definitely do not have the customers interest in mind.

I like that the car features has good radio, you can hear very well and it does not need that much gas and that it is perfect because it great for the family size I have. I like that when you are no seat belt it alarms you that the passenger is no seat belt, that if any door is open it also beeps when theyre open. I like the options it has because it heats and cool very good. I feel and see very well and no need to walk again and I also like the color it came in. It a good car and it helps me get to where I am going.

We purchased our Cadillac XT5 in Feb. 2017 for almost $64,000. We have been subscribers to SiriusXM since 2009. Shortly after purchasing the XT, we noticed that the radio dropped SXM channel 69. Returned car to dealer and they ran codes but could not find a problem. Returned the car a second time for the same problem with no luck. Radio also loses signal in supermarket and Lowes parking lots. I have a 2011 GMC Terrain, has never dropped a signal Suspect XT radio or the antenna.Returned the car a third time and was given a loaner with the same radio. That radio also dropped SXM 69, 7 and 71. I returned the loaner. Sent letter to Cadillac customer assistance explaining the problem. Requested a written response, nope. I never got. Several days get phone call and was told to call SXM. Another refresh sent. Next day my wife goes to the market, drives in the parking lot, no signal. Florida does have lemon law. I would prefer Cadillac solve their problem. My patience is wearing thin.

I bought the car used and it was a cruiser and it was very roomy on the inside. Its very reliable, and I did not have to worry about if I was going to make it back home or not. Even though it was a boat ride to on the outside it was a very good car to me. The interior was in the best of shape. It did not have any holes in the seats. It was able to fit me, my daughter and her father, and our friends and their 3 kids, so that is 8 people and 1 of those 8 was in a car seat.

I like to have a fun car and I like to buy something that gets my friends and family attention so having a Cadillac is a eye catcher within itself and I like that. The car is totally loaded and has everything a car seeker with prestige could ask for. Its style and easy to maneuver. The color is shiny and holds its coloring so when it is dirty it does not even look that bad. The system in the car sounds good for an manufacture system. I trust the brand and I like the way it flows when I drive it and the attention I get from driving the car. I love the cd player and I like being able to take along my phone and use it in my car to hear different tracks. I like that the model every year is adding different options for their customers to select from. Now this kind of car is not really for the whole family if you have a lot of children and even though I have the grandkids it is enough room for everyone to safely fit into without being squash.

My overall experience with my beautiful Cadillac has been amazing. My Cadillac was the first luxury car Ive ever owned or purchased. It was pricier than other cars Ive owned but Ive never once regretted this purchase. This car has taken me amazing places and has been completely dependable and reliable. I love the sleek, modern look of my Cadillac CTS. This car’s interior features are what had me sold. This car contains a beautiful leather interior with heated seats and is extremely spacious inside. The only thing that I dislike about it is the poor gas mileage my Cadillac gets. There have been times Ive been on long commutes and have watched the gas gauge go down in front of my eyes.

It also has ornaments and tattoos. It has auto-pilot and TVs inside of it. Its personalization options are unlimited as are all the other cars Ive purchased. Ive upgraded the engine and the tires for a more rounded car. I recommend Cadillacs to all of my family and friends. Its price however is a bit unreasonable. Furthermore, the passenger capacity is not very good. You can only fit 2 people in the car including the driver. Id much rather have a 4 seater car than a 2 seater car. But it was an enjoyable experience.

I purchased a 2006 Cadillac CTS in May 2010. Since the purchase, I have had several car repairs resulting in thousands of dollars. I make sure that I receive regular oil changes and follow recommendations for Mobil 1 oil only. I have to purchase approximately 6 to 8 quarts of the oil to add to my engine between oil changes. I had my mechanic assess the vehicle and there are no leaks. The car simply drinks oil. This is quite an expense since an oil change is approximately $100 and a quart of Mobil 1 oil is $10 a quart. This is simply unacceptable. I have read many complaints where people have lost their engines over oil consumption. Its simply not fair to the consumer to have to bear this expense for a product that is supposed to be trusted. In addition to this, I am putting brakes on my vehicle (front and back) twice a year. This is unheard of. There needs to be some accountability and responsibility for the makers of this vehicle.

My 2016 Cadillac ATS is presently at the dealership being tested for a jerky transmission ride--they apparently cant find anything wrong with it! When placed in Drive, it is not a smooth transmission but when I disengage the stop-engine feature it is a little better but not much. Ironically you have to DISENGAGE the stop engine feature on the car since the default is always ON! Ive driven GM cars, including Cadillac for 50 years and this is the most disconcerting ride of any car Ive owned. Curious if others are experiencing this same difficulty?

I purchased a 2004 Cadillac SRX last week from a dealership that did not offer a warranty. That was not the issue, considering the car seemed to be in great condition. A few days later I noticed that my Stability Control sensor repeatedly appeared on my dash, warning me of an issue. After doing my research online in regard to the issue, I noticed that this is a constant pattern for the 2004 SRX and many thousands of owners have complained with no resolution. This is a driving hazard because the car veers out of control and the breaks lock up at speeds over 50 mph.The forum discussion also mentioned a family that was killed as a result of this issue. They also mentioned numerous accidents and near accidents as well. I also know that GM is aware of this issue because they monitor the forum site and have responded with canny and inconsiderate responses to some of the comments made. The sad thing is that this vehicle has never been recalled for this issue.Essentially, I am not blaming the car dealership in regard to this issue. However, I am holding GM responsible for not correcting this highly dangerous defect years ago. I am surprised that this car is still on the road after reading all the horror stories. Thank you for your time and I hope this can be resolved before another innocent person is killed behind a companys irresponsible behavior.

I have owned my 2006 DTS for 3 years. I bought it used with 51,000 miles. It now has 142,000. The car is very comfortable to drive and ride in. I love all of the luxury features such as automatic high beams, memory seats, remote start, and XM radio. I had a roomy trunk and quiet interior. It gets between 21 and 23 mpg pretty consistently on regular unleaded.What I dont like about it is how often it needs repairs. Around 70,000 miles, I had to have the entire front suspension system essentially rebuilt, as tie rods, ball joints, and struts were worn out. I developed several oil leaks, and I have stopped trying to get those fixed. Changing front turn signal bulbs and headlights requires the front bumper be removed. Parts seem expensive. I plan to keep it for another couple of years. I doubt that I will be replacing it with another Cadillac.

If youre in the market for a luxury vehicle without the luxury price tag, Cadillac is the car for you. The Cadillac I purchased came with all the bells and whistles. Theres an out of this world sound system that will blow you away. They have automatic heated seats for your comfort. I was able to upgrade to the features I wanted without a hefty price tag. The sound system and navigation have to be the best in any automobile. Upgrading to automatic everything was well worth it. Since we purchased a Sedan we did miss out on the extra room an SUV would afford. However since were a family of four and the room is just enough to be comfortable.

It isnt any different than buying a Kia. I will never buy another one!I have priced new bulbs with supposedly brighter output for a mere 99.00 and National Customer Service said unfortunately that would be my issue and expense, no recalls, no help, no nothing! You can read online hundreds of the same complaint, year after year and a settlement was done in Calif. and Florida only. Cadillac is just another vehicle and the service is just another service you will pay for.

My engine blew after 3 years (80k miles) and Cadillac said the manufacturers warranty was over and the warranty THEY sold me they could not support since it was a third party warranty. Facts: This is not a Cadillac Warranty. After numerous calls Cadillac informed me it was not their warranty and they could not help (even though their logo is all over what was sold). Cadillac is given incentives to sell third party warranties and allows them to put their logos on the warranty to make it appear it is a Cadillac sponsor and supported warranty. Third party warranty held my car for over month to fix while only giving 10 days of vehicle rental allowance. Third party failed to rebuild engine and it went out again and wanted to charge me additional $3,500 to fix after it. This happened the moment I drove it off of lot from dealership that was paid to replace it. Beware of what you are signing. The dealership I purchased this from has said their hands are tied due to Cadillac not supporting them in helping the consumer. After spending $90k on a vehicle I expected more from a brand and the services they sell you.

This engine is an inferior design & GM should have been held responsible. This is a common problem with all GM Northstar oil leaking Engines and there was never a recall. GM never attempted to correct the oil leak problem. When it was new the sticker price on my 1996 Cadillac was approx $45,000. My 1997 Ford Explorer went for approx $23,000 & it doesnt leak a drop of oil. Shame on you General Motors!!!

It has a very unique look in which it can look like a luxury fancy car, very spacious on the inside and also has a sporty look with converts me features and makes it perfect for long drives and to go ride by the beach but still looking fabulous. There has been many upgrades in the Cadillac which first is their look. It has changed but you can definitely tell it is a Cadillac only by looking at the shape of the car is more square than others. The good thing about this car is that everyone fits in the car without having to be bumping shoulders with the person next to them.

The last time I drove my caddy down the street. Comfortable ride. Plush leather seats, white wall tires, wood trim and no corners are cut. Imagine being the only person in a city bus. This is how I feel riding around in my caddy. If you take people with you they will feel like that also.

Of course my car is not under warranty anymore but shortly after the last replacement my warranty expired and only choice I had was to pay out of pocket. The cost is no less than $1200. Cadillac needs to have a lawsuit placed against them including all of their used to be loyal customers that are experiencing the CUE issue. I will never buy another Cadillac... GM has no integrity. I can’t even listen to music in my car now because I had my battery replaced which of course resets all of your settings so my radio just makes the static noise because I can’t touch the screen to put in on an actual station. I HATE CADILLAC.

If there is a feature you dont need you dont have to have it and make your vehicle more affordable. I have a large family so its important to me to have enough space for everybody and everybodys belongings. My vehicle had enough space for my daughters wheelchair.

I like the customization to the chassis that we ordered from the showroom. It has a unique design that is noticeable worldwide no matter where you go. I definitely look forward to buying another one. Although we have very few customizations the dealer offered various promotion packages that allowed us to customize the ceiling, the color of the car, the interior even a sunroof. I was more than satisfied with my purchase experience. It was the sedan so there was plenty of seating for me and my family. Were not a very large family in terms of physical size so it offered more than enough seating space leg room all that we needed.

I walked away with just a scratch on my finger. Caddy saved me! So I found another one, had to do some maintenance to it (Battery, radiator & transmission flushed, alignments and tires balanced! Wanted that done whether it was needed or not), it runs great! Comfortable ride, quite and the V6 performs close to a V8. Its a luxury model! The AWD is great in snow/ice or rain. Just a solid gripping ride! Not happy with local Cadillac dealer so I go to Chevy/Buick dealer in Mendota! Very happy with them..

The car that we own is bright red and it has several added options such as heated seats in the front and the back, a heated steering wheel and back-up sensors. It has a sun roof and a CD player. It has the ability to save the settings for the seat and the pedals for up to two people. Also it has push button start. It has a large interior and has room for two people in the front and three people in the backseat with enough room to be comfortable.

Was happy to purchase previously owned 2013 Cadillac SRX in November 2016. Also purchased extended warranty. Wish I would have done more homework before this purchase though now in hindsight viewing the many complaints about the touchscreen CUE is so disheartening. I, like many others, have a touchscreen that wont work even after hard reset attempts per GM instructions. Waiting a week before I can even get into the dealership for this issue. Learning this is not covered in warranty, even extended is sickening. There should be a class action against Cadillac for this faulty part placed in my vehicle. As soon as I pay this car off no more GM or Cadillac cars for me! They have lost my trust.

I purchased a new 2013 Cadillac CTS Coupe in July 2013. A week after purchasing the car, I noticed a popping sound when I put the car in reverse and turned the wheels. The dealership determined that the rear differential must be replaced. They replaced rear differential and 2 month later, the right rear differential seals were leaking fluid. Car returned to dealer for this repair. I have since contacted an attorney to pursue a buyback from Cadillac under the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act. The right side weather stripping/molding had to be replaced as it would not seal completely and water would enter my vehicle when it rains or when at the car wash. Cadillac says this does not qualify as a defect therefore they are only willing to grant a minimal goodwill cash offer. Cadillac/General Motors is pathetic.

Cadillac SRX 2011 - The check engine light has come on 5x in the last 2 months. Each time the dealer says it is the same code some type of transmission sensor. Had it at the dealer Thursday & light came on Saturday. Rattle in front of car & dealer said cant find anything. This is the performance collection & sometimes it shifts like it is in the performance mode when it is not. First & last experience with a Cadillac. It only has 49,000 miles & I have had more issues with this car than any other car I have owned.

General Motors has extremely horrible cars. Now that I am reading their reviews, I am appalled and disgusted. I have a 2006 Cadillac CTS, my car has just reached 70,000 miles and now the timing chain needs to be replaced. I admit my car has been in an accident but I spoken to many professional mechanics, even ASE certified mechanics. And they stated even with the kind of accident the car had, it would not affect the timing chain. If the timing chain is worn, it is because the manufacturer. They stated to try to see if the manufacturer will try to give you a goodwill warranty because they are noticing a big trend of Cadillac CTS coming in with timing chain issues with low mileage. I called General Motors to see if they could do anything to help, and they said they will call the Cadillac dealership in my area. After basically harassing the dealership, calling them a million times, I finally went up there. The service advisor stated that GM will not do anything because my car has a salvaged title because it has been in a car accident. Thats a dumb ** reason and a pretty bad cover up if you ask me. So they told me to repair my car would be close to $3,000... Why on earth should I or would I pay that. General Motors is getting over on their customers and stealing their money and personally, I am not going to take this from them. I will be contacting a lawyer for them to conduct an investigation with General Motors because I know there are others with this same issue. They want to get people out of thousands of dollars. If I have to continually fight with General Motors for them to get a recall, I will spend several hours a day calling, emailing, and contacting whoever it is I need to contact. If they are going to continue to put out garbage cars, then they should go bankrupt. I believe if enough people come forward with their garbage GM made cars we can file a CIVIL case, and I wont stop until something is done. Either GM make a recall for timing chains in all Cadillac CTSs ... or they can face a lawsuit and end up in bankruptcy. Either way I will not stop until something is done. I would not recommend anyone buy a Cadillac or for that matter any GM car... let them go bankrupt and out of business. Save people their money. I will be consulting a lawyer no matter what the cost. General Motors is a get rich scheme and they will be stopped. Everyone involved and that has invested in General Motors will take a loss since their customers have to.

I purchased a brand new, off the showroom floor, 2017 Cadillac CT6 in February, 2017. On March 27, 2017 while driving in Rowland Hts., Ca. I was rear ended by a motorist who was not paying attention to the fact that everyone else but her had stopped. I had my vehicle towed to a Cadillac dealer for repair. 2 weeks later that Cadillac dealer contacted me and stated that they could not repair my car as they weren’t aluminum qualified. They found another shop in the area that was aluminum qualified but, in about 2 more weeks, I found out that this repair shop was not GM aluminum qualified. GM finally okayed a shop in North Hollywood that was qualified to repair my vehicle. My car was transported to this location but the vehicle could not be repaired at this time as there were no replacement parts available for my vehicle. Long story short: my vehicle is still in this shop and tomorrow will make it the 4th month that I have not been able to get my car back. In fairness, the Cadillac dealer that I originally took the car to has supplied me with a loaner car for the duration and they also assisted in getting GM to reimburse me for 2 months of payments on my car, but I have not seen my car for almost 4 months! Car is not totaled. My experience tells me that I will NEVER purchase another Cadillac as GM has truly dropped the ball in regard to supplying parts and a qualified repair shop. The shop that my car is still currently at is the only one in Southern California at this time so, again, I blame GM for really dropping the ball. My insurance company told me that I could take my car to any qualified repair show but by whose qualifications??? Again, I commend the dealership that has supported me during this time frame but I have lost all faith in GM.

Really love everything about this Caddi. So much room. Drives beautifully. Handles the snow amazingly. All the extras pamper you while your drive/ride. Extremely happy we bought this. Great family car! The only downsides... gas mileage could be better and cost/difficulty of repairs. It is pricier to fix, which is understandable... but it is also trickier than other vehicles weve owned. Everything takes much longer and therefore costs even more. Still wouldnt trade it though!

I watched it increase for 2 years and to prevent any rust from forming took it to Perfect Ten Auto Collision to have it repaired. Then I heard about this happening because Cadillac had used a lower grade aluminum around the hood that butts up to the hood paint. It cost me $789.61 to have this fixed. I would just like to know if Cadillac is responsible in any way for the damage?

I own a 2011 SRX and at 77,000 Km. I noticed a humming noise coming from the rear of the car. It sounded like an exhaust leak as it varied with acceleration. I took it to my dealer and it was found to be a worn left wheel bearing. It was replaced at no cost to me. The same noise started to appear again at 88,000 km. I returned to the dealer with the same complaint and this time it was deemed to be the right rear wheel bearing. But this time since the vehicle was past the 80,000 km warranty it was going to cost me about $500 to repair. I argued that it should have been replaced with the original complaint and ended up paying for labor only $200. Is this normal for both wheel bearings to wear out with this mileage?

I bought a new 2017 Cadillac XT5. I had a problem with the cruise control. It took 4 visits to the maintenance department before they fixed the problem. I had to take my Cadillac in because the fuel gauge would not work properly. I simply washed my xt5 and somehow it caused the door locks to not work. It cost me $575 to get it fixed. I called the corporate office seeking a refund and give Cadillac a chance to stand by their product but they refused. So, if you want to take a chance and buy a Cadillac....good luck.

Drive shaft center support rubber grommet deteriorated causing a thumping noise when accelerating. Cadillac said no replacement parts are available and I need the entire drive shaft. Drive shaft part alone is between $680 to $800 depending upon VIN. This part is a Carrier Bearing, for the rest of the world, and they have been available from every manufacturer I can think of $60-$70. And the Cadillac dealer sends me their new car literature?

I purchased a 2004 Cadillac SRX with 98000 miles on it! It has no AC and since Ive had it Ive had nothing but problems. I check the computer and ran my codes and it came back for massive air flow sensor, throttle body position sensor, and traction control sensor. I replaced everything but the traction control sensor and Im still having the same problem! It has a rough idle from time to time where the motor will say reduced engine power and the car will rough idle and cut off so then I would have to put it in neutral or stop or park and turn the car off and turn it back on. Traffic control Would go off all but the check engine light will still be on. Sometime to check engine light will stay off and a run just fine but then when Im traveling down the road both lights Would come on and the car Would shut off. Really really really dangerous. Can anybody tell me what the problem is with the car????

I own a 2002 Cadillac Deville. I have had continual problems with all of my automatic windows. Basically, all four windows have broken at least once in the three years I have owned this car. The windows go down, but they will not go up. I have had at least two or three of these windows fail at least two times. I have had one window fail 3 times. The cost of repairing these windows is approximately $300.00 to $400 a piece. I have come to learn (from the Frank ** Service Manager) that this particular is a well known design flaw with the Cadillac Deville. They have seen this issue with many customers on a repeated basis. I think this demonstrated a design problem with this car and has nothing to do with normal wear-and-tear. First, GM should be ashamed of not fixing this issue and having a recall. I would like to get a refund for my latest repair. I have no problem contacting my local FOX TV affiliate in Dallas/FW and make them aware of this issue. They have a reporter that handles issues such as these. I will send you my latest repair bill for $500.00 and then I will sell this car. What a disgrace of a product.

Within the last six months, the CUE screen wont work on the bottom, the wiper fluid motor stopped working, had to replace a fuel injector and just yesterday the motor on my right passenger side window went out. I drove to work in the pouring rain with my window partially down. I have had several vehicles in my lifetime, but this is by far THE WORST! These cars are not cheap but they sure have all kinds of things go wrong with them. I will NEVER buy another Cadillac!

The bill to replace them come up to about $2K. DO NOT BUY JUNK GM CARS. This is just the most recent problem I have. Shame on the company and their management for such poor quality. No wonder bankruptcy is looming.

It was a decent car I brought and I pretty much like all of Cadillacs types of cars, although the one I brought broke down somehow. I am fixing it but I still am satisfied. It is one of the best cars out there. It was so shiny and new with a beige or tan color and a nice wood interior by the windows. It was just the perfect design for me. I havent gotten any upgrades yet but I could possibly upgrade the car or personalize it but I am satisfied with the upgrade options. I am happy about how much room the car offers wherein I could fit all three of my children in the car with a guest in the passengers seat without any worries.

I have a 2011, CTS, premium edition. At 30,000 miles, I had to have timing chains replaced! Never heard of a timing chain(s) going out that fast! Date of replacement was 10/7/2016. Glad I had purchased an extended warranty!! Over $1200.00 for the work!! And yes, it is a 3.6 engine. Acted like the battery was low for quite a while before I took it in for repair. As I had a new battery, I thought it was starter trouble. Overall, the car is very dependable, I have had it for three + years now. First repair done.

I purchased brand new Cadillac Xts in 2016, after being a proud cadillac owner if several prior vehicles. From day one, this car has been a nightmare! When it was delivered the paint was messed up and it took so long to repair I made my first payment before I received the vehicle (paint still not perfect). It was so bad a cadillac rep had to come view it. My car since day one has occasionally shook when being crunk. The check engine light would immediately pop on, but when car was restarted it would go away. I was told several times by the dealership that they could only fix it if the check engine light stayed on.There were other issues as well, We were told by the General Manager not to worry. Cadillac would do a buyback and gives us 10% off of msrp of a new Cadillac. The dealership has since closed, getting Cadillac to do the right thing seems to be a nightmare! We have been dedicated Cadillac owners and never had a prior issue, this is extremely disappointing!

Unfortunately, like many others, I purchased a vehicle from GM with their horrible CUE system. A system which they are aware has many, many issues, but they still fail to stand behind it. I truly believe that Cadillac/GM, now makes more profit off of their customers from REPLACING the CUE system, than when they originally sold them the piece of junk.My story began when I purchased a used 2013 Cadillac XTS with 11,000 miles. Within less than a week, I noticed the screen kept freezing up. I took it to my local Cadillac dealership and they diagnosed the problem as the CUE system. They replaced the CUE system at no charge to me and it worked fine, for now. When I reached 49,000 the screen once again locked up. I took it to Thompson Cadillac in Raleigh NC. Big mistake. My wife drops the car off and later that day I receive a call from Mike ** in the service department telling me its the CUE system and it needs to be replaced. He says it will be $2,400 and that its not covered under the warranty. I responded, $2,400, are you crazy? You all know that this CUE system is crap and you should stand behind your products! He replied that it would be $2,400 and thats all he could do. I told him that this would be the LAST Cadillac I would ever purchased. He, like many other service departments, could care less. I picked my car up the next day from Thompson Cadillac, settled out my bill for the oil change, and left unsatisfied as do many other customers Im sure. CUE system still broke and NO resolution. I refused to pay $2,400 for a problem that Cadillac and GM are aware of. I wanted to sue them and still do.To make a long story short, I got lucky. I found another Cadillac dealership in the area, a reputable one, that took care of me. While I am still concerned about Cadillac/GM products, at least they restored my faith in now a reputable service department should take care of their customers. Two things I learned from this experience, I wont buy another Cadillac until they fix, or completely replace, the CUE systems, and second, I wont ever return to THOMPSON CADILLAC in Raleigh NC!

I purchased a 2012 Cadillac SRX with navigation package in February 2012. Upon first use, the navigation system placed me about 1/3 mile away from destination. I contacted the Cadillac dealer and they verified the problem. The dealer ordered a new navigation disk but the same errors occurred. The dealer tested the navigation system on other SRXs on the lot and all had the same problem. The dealer contacted the Cadillac representative who said that nothing would be done until the 2014 model year. I noted that the navigation system instructs the driver to make wrong turns which could result in a fatality if the driver was to enter the wrong way on a one-way street. Cadillac would not correct the problem! The Cadillac rep said that Cadillac plans no correction. If I learn of a fatality, I can document everything stated above.

Cadillac is an awesome brand. It has been around for years . And they have about 5 or more different brand, 1 is Cadillac deville Cadillac Escalade. I love it. It has so many features. It has Chrome wheels, wood grain on the dash. It has a nice system, tinted windows, all leather heated seats, cd changers/regular radio. I got all the windows blacked out with tint. I put 2 12s for my system and thats was all on the upgrades. Also I got new carpet because I didnt like the color it came with. This car is very spaced. It had a huge trunk space and at the back you could fit about four people but in the front only 2 because there is only 2 seats.

I have a 2006 Cadillac SRX. Its been a bottomless pit for ongoing repairs... Purchased with under 40K miles ... problems started immediately Within a month, CD player started not functioning properly (has Nav). Brought to the dealer. Repair: R + R head unit... cost $2500 + labor $2500...? You can buy a hell of a home stereo for a lot less!! All it needed was to have the laser aligned and it was replaced with some other unit from Cadillac (remember R & R no actual fixing here) so someone else has my used $2500 player that probably took about 2 minutes to realign the laser... What was I expecting for $2500?Very quickly found that the car uses a quart of oil about every 1000... Do you want to hear what the Cadillac tech told me when I asked him what should I do? He said, I recommend keeping a case of oil in the back - nice. The cars original sticker was $55K. The steering rack at 40K started to leak... R & R 1000 bucks later... brought home. Next morning, the AC Delco unit they put in leaked worse. They replaced it... Does that mean it was free?At 60K, the right front wheel bearings at $450. I cant tell you how many times Ive had to replace the right front directional at $125. Now I use my fist with a good glove and bash the directional and at least for a while it comes back on (Cadillac glove) - saves a few $100 every year. About 80K, the left front wheel bearing replaced... another $450 repair. Did you know some places on the road get almost $10 for a quart of synthetic Mobil One? Is that synthetic or pathetic? I lost track of how many quarts Ive added in 4 years...I actually had a pretty good stretch for awhile until last week... just turned 100k... Seems the timing chain loosened up, slipped a couple of teeth, valve spring broke, bent a valve and put a hole in the valve cover. $55K and the motor cant go 100K without detonating... As I write, the motor is apart waiting for GM parts (Please...cant we use some aftermarket parts instead?) This bill ought to be a whopper! Ive spent more money on this car for maintenance than the last 10 cars I have owned. Buy American? Buy GM? NEVER AGAIN.

The 2015 Cadillac is nothing but a hot mess!! Ive dealt with headlights so dim I could not see to drive at night. After four tries, Cadillac Service finally figured out a fix. There were transmission issues: the car would hesitate when giving it the gas from a stopped or slowed position to the point it jerked you back in your seat. The battery completely died at 30,000 miles. The lift gate motor died at 32,000 miles because water from the sunroof drainage tubes literally soaked the motor, ($1800 fix). So, take my advice and just run as far away from this car as you can.

In February 2018 I bought a used 2006 Cadillac CTS with 78314 miles on it. Had it 2 days and cylinder 1 started missing, took it back and they repaired the problem. No cost to me. On April 1st Easter Sunday I was driving to my familys home in Rosedale MD about 50 miles from my home. About 23 miles into the trip I looked in the rearview mirror and saw nothing but white smoke so I pulled over to the shoulder of a busy highway. Once I stopped the car, turned it off and popped the hood I saw fluid pouring out of the bottom of the car. Started the car back up to move it further in from the line of traffic but when I put it in gear it wouldnt move, turns out the fluid was Transmission fluid. Waited 3 1/2 hours for a tow and never made it to Easter Dinner. The next day I was contacted by the service station to tell me the transmission line going to the cooling radiator unit had blown and both the radiator and line needed replaced and that was gonna cost $850. So within 2 months car has been out of service twice. Not happy with Cadillac at this point as they will not stand behind any of their flaws in their cars. You would think a high quality name like Cadillac would want to keep their reputation good. I guess my next high quality vehicle will be either Lexus or BMW. Sad Cadillac doesnt have better management who cares about their reputation instead of them just getting a fat paycheck. Cadillac its time to rethink your corporate structure!!!

We bought this car used in 2013. For the most part, we have been satisfied with the car. Wish trunk was bigger. Mid 2014, begin to have problem with key getting stuck in the ignition and could not remove it. If I turned on and off several, would eventually come out. Had to be careful to make sure everything was turned off (radio, heater) or battery would be drained if left very long. Gas gauge would register empty. Received a recall in September 2014. Took in and they could not do anything because the key was stuck in the ignition and they could not get it out. Took in the next week and something was done the keys. The following week, the key again stuck after returning from grocery. Forgot to go back out and try to get out. The next morning, battery was drained, called for jump start. Could not jump. New battery purchased in November 2014. Had to have car towed to GM dealer on Friday. Had to call on Monday to see what status was. Nothing had been done. Electronic control module was replaced as no communication could be made with the car. Cost, $693.00. Was advised that there could be other issues that occur after this. Anyone know what these issues could be?

I love the Cadillac SRX car. It rides nice, is very luxurious and affordable. It has a touchscreen control display, leather interior and a panoramic sunroof. Its American made and uses flex fuel which is cheaper and better for the environment. It also has a great stereo. However, it doesnt have air conditioned seats and it doesnt get great gas mileage. Im not thrilled with the color choices and would prefer more choices. It doesnt have a built-in DVD player as well.
