2022 Lexus IS 500 F Sport Performance Review & Test Drive
Posted On: April 27, 2022
I’ve always been a fan of Lexus and the unrelenting quality put into their vehicles that naturally remain at the top of the list for reliability. When it comes to performance, Lexus has always been conservative and such a position has done well for a myriad of buyers who don’t mind the specs of competition outdoing them. For their compact luxury sedan, the Lexus IS, there’s been much of a want from enthusiasts to bring back the IS F and shove the glorious sewing machine-smooth 5.0-liter V8 under the hood. Well, for the 2022 model year, their wish somewhat comes true but again in a conservative package, the new IS 500 F Sport Performance. Performance and Driving Character The Lexus IS has always been a favorite of mine ever since its conception as the 2001 IS 300 giving us a taste of the old Supra-inspired inline 6-cylinder engine. Since then, the Lexus IS has grown in its maturity and retained a compact size but brought us the IS F in 2008 with a 5.0-liter V8 under the hood. While that V8 was still down on power compared to direct competition, it stood the test of time and now we have the latest iteration of that engine that produces 472 horsepower and 395 lb-ft of torque mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. See Also: 2021 Lexus IS 350 F Sport Review & Test Drive The powertrain, in its rear-wheel-drive only configuration with a naturally aspirated V8, is something that gives Lexus major points from the enthusiast community as being one of the very last forms of such a raw luxury vehicle. In that, the Lexus IS 500 F Sport Performance is more of a subtle step in the performance arena not to compete with the definitive performance kings in the form of the BMW M3, Mercedes-AMG C63 Sedan, or even the Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing. No no, the Lexus IS 500 F Sport Performance is what its name signifies, “F Sport” instead of the real deal “F” vehicle from Lexus such as the RC F. That means it runs with the BMW M340i, the AMG C43 Sedan, and the Caddy CT4-V (non-Blackwing). If you think about it, that makes the IS 500 F Sport Performance somewhat the king of its class because all of those competitors don’t have a V8 or the horsepower numbers to match. Smart play, Lexus! When it comes down to sheer performance, the Lexus IS 500 is a gem for being a grand touring compact luxury machine. The 5.0-liter V8 engine is glorious in that it emits a delightful intake manifold growl around its midrange RPM that’s only accentuated by an artificial sound via an adjustable Active Sound Control (ASC) system. Though, if you turn off the ASC system you’ll still be left with an amazing harmonic burble from under the bulging aluminum hood as you climb into the revs and start smiling just above 7,000 rpm. This V8, the same power mill found in the canceled Lexus GS F, the current Lexus LC 500, and RC F, is music to an enthusiast’s ears, and that makes up for its softer performance qualities. Those soft performance qualities are filtered through the entirety of the new Lexus IS 500, which is essentially a Lexus IS 350 F Sport but with a V8 engine. There are a few other traits that make the IS 500 its own vehicle, such as the hood bulge to clear the V8 engine, a noticeable oil cooler hiding behind the menacing-looking dark spindle mesh grille up front, and the unique staggered and stacked quad exhaust tips out back. Demanding power from the Lexus IS 500 F Sport Performance is a strange thing as you’re required to lay far into the gas pedal for the proper throttle response when you’re already moving. The 8-speed automatic transmission doesn’t want to downshift as you like until you push hard on the throttle through a kick-down notch before you get to the proper lower gear. While you still get full throttle before reaching the kick-down on the gas pedal, there’s somewhat of a disappointment from the transmission’s lack to downshift to the lowest possible gear – and this is a returning character flaw of Lexus. Initial throttle response from a stop is instant and permits a clean 0-60 mph run taking 4.4 seconds. Overall, performance is decent and the IS 500 bites back with just enough grip even though its suspension is soft even in the firmed-up damper setting for its adaptive suspension. The softness translates into an excellent ride quality, probably the best in a vehicle of this small size that I’ve experienced. Fuel Economy The fuel efficiency in the Lexus IS 500 F Sport Performance is not too bad considering you have a beefy V8 to play with. Though, pushing that V8 hard will have the IS 500 sucking down copious amounts of premium fuel and you’ll never match those EPA estimates of 17 mpg city, 25 mpg highway, and 20 mpg combined. If you drive the IS 500 as a commuter, which it does comfortably around town, you’ll easily match those figures but don’t expect to muster out much more than what’s stated on paper in the real world. Interior and Tech Inside of the Lexus IS 500 F Sport Performance is the same cabin, layout, and aged switchgear from when the current third-generation Lexus IS was introduced in 2014. Of course, since then, the IS has received refreshing updates for its exterior that are quite attractive in my view. However, the interior remains to have a good fit and finish with plenty of soft-touch surfaces but here many areas can be improved upon, and only so much that the small updates can do to keep the IS fresh. For starters, the infotainment unit, once being the vehicle’s biggest complaint in using a cumbersome touchpad interface, now has a 10.3-inch touchscreen interface. While the touchscreen essentially uses the same menu sets and functions of the past, there is still the touchpad interface present even if you don’t have to use it much. I will say, there’s something good about having a vehicle where everything works 100% of the time in knowing how many modern infotainment units have so many annoying glitches and software bugs on other vehicles. The Lexus IS 500 will have none of those, and its build quality shows as a vehicle that will probably outlast most cars on the road for respectable maintenance costs. Additionally, there are the expected active safety features including adaptive cruise control all included. The gauge cluster is the same old unit, which I must say has aged well considering it is fully digital and has the unique sliding center RPM section – all derived from the Lexus LFA supercar from many years back. There are also the welcoming aspects of having a plethora of physical buttons and knobs and a unique automatic climate control touch-capacitive temp slider. The seating areas are somewhat tidy for the most part as they have traditionally been in the Lexus IS but the seating remains comfy with some welcoming bolster support in the front sporty heated and ventilated seats with plenty forward and aft travel. The back-seating area is very small with limited legroom if you have two average to large size adults sitting up front. Thankfully the rear 60/40 seatbacks fold down for added cargo room as the trunk is only 10.8 cubic feet with the seats in place. What is so surprising about the Lexus IS 500 is that even though it is still based on an old platform, it continues to turn heads and remains quite unique in the scheme of competitors. Additionally, the IS 500 F Sport Performance could very well pave the way for a full-on IS F but my bets are kept at bay as time marches on towards an EV future and the IS 500 F Sport Performance could very well be one of the very last 4-door naturally aspirated V8 vehicles around. Put that in your exhaust pipes and smoke it! Pricing The pricing scale for the Lexus IS has remained competitive and adding a V8 engine doesn’t make things get outrageous as you would think considering how some of the IS 500’s German competition stacks pricing and options. The new 2022 Lexus IS 500 F Sport Performance starts at $57,575 before any fees and my IS 500 F Sport Performance Premium trim test vehicle with very limited options comes to about $62,670.

Of 4 Lexus autos Ive owned this is my first nightmare. Ive talked with dealership in Torrance, CA for over 5 hours and 9 people later; Lexus just no longer cares about their customers. They have lost being #1 in true service. We ordered this nice new RX 350 (build online) and after 60 days kept asking the dealer if he could locate sooner than a 6 month wait. Finally our salesman at Henessey reached out and said he had one but no factory tow package (jet skis). He said one could be added by them after the purchase. Many, many, many conversations later - IT CANNOT be added! Lexus changed the wiring harness in the 2016 RX 350. My dealer should have known this!!! We are really pissed off in the dealership as well as Torrance but apologize and neither will work a trade since we have titled it, without us coming $4500 out of pocket!! This will be the last Lexus for me, we have learned (burned) our lesson. People are now whispering aftermarket but Lexus has the wiring fix, just wont step up and assign it a part number and make it available for consumers to purchase. Instead anyone wanting their tow package in their desired color and interior trim package better be prepared to wait because LEXUS NO LONGER CARES!! The worse 50K purchase Ive ever made!

All cars have problems, but before you purchase take a look at some of the issues in the BMW section... Valve guide seals ($4k), evaporator cores ($3k), coolant leaks, multiple window regulators, transmission issues, a/c issues, water pump issues, electrical issues and even engine bolts that break off! The list goes on and on. Just do a Google search. And these are with BMWs with 50,000 and 60,000 miles. I hope that my story will convince people to do their research and at least consider the Lexus brand.I bought my Lexus GS400 in 1999, and now at 16 years old and with 215,000 miles in my opinion it is one of the most reliable vehicles ever built. If you do some research, the 1UZ-FE V8 engine produced by Toyota in the late 90s (and used in the GS, LS, Tundra, LX, etc.) is one of the most bulletproof engines ever made. It will pretty much run forever. There are vehicles with this engine on the road today with 300,000, 400,000 even 500,000 miles and more. Even though it has evolved somewhat, it is still pretty much the same V8 motor used in Lexus vehicles today. That should tell you something. Now to my vehicle. In the first 5 years of ownership, I didnt have a single problem with my car. Not one. I replaced a battery, but that is something you would do with any car. In the 6th year, the throttle body assembly needed repair, but not a big deal. In the 10th year my starter contacts went bad (they go bad in all cars) and my alternator went out (again, expected for a 10 year old car!). Other than that its pretty much been regular maintenance: oil changes, tires, brakes. In 16 years I have never changed the spark plugs!! They are original. Ive driven up and down the east coast and this car has never left me stranded.Again, do your research and choose wisely. Today, KBB values my car at about $5-6k (it was $46k originally) but it doesnt matter because if someone wanted to purchase it today I would say its not for sale. I am keeping this one. Im sure Ill purchase a 2nd vehicle one day for fun - maybe a convertible - and guess what brand that will be? A Lexus of course! Even then Im not trading in my GS400 - this car is staying in my garage.

Lexus has many models. Mid-size to luxury to SUV. They also have fuel-efficient & eco-friendly cars. I have a ES 250 2009. I use it for work and travel daily. Standard features - a/c, electronic windows and seat warmers. I have a mid-size that is very room and fits 5 adults. You can get a full size SUV for more room. There are also many options to upgrade. For example: satellite, eco-friendly, customized leather seats.

Tried Mercedes, drove him to 4 years, a decent car. BUT, after Lexus, I realized that she excels. Good streamlined, pleasant to look at, beautiful design, high-quality assembly. Also made of solid metal, in a collision it will not crumble. It contains more than 5-6 people, places inside enough, but still, for me, his wife and child, this is the best option. The trunk is large, fit a lot of things, a spacious. I recommend to everyone. I am confident in this brand.

My mother bought a 2008 Lexus RX 350. At 88k miles, she began experiencing issues with her car while driving and brought it to the dealership for an inspection. They told her that there were massive problems with her engine which would cost over $5k to fix. This car isnt even at 100k miles yet so it was incredible that there would be any engine problems. For what its worth, my mother is a very safe, responsible driver and she has never skipped any maintenance on her car. We asked what our options were and they told us that we were past the warranty, so our only option would be to pay the $5k out of pocket. Obviously, we were upset so we called the consumer hotline that they provided us to voice our concerns, and we spoke with a representative named Carlos. He admitted that there were known engine issues with the RX models and said that he would call us back with a solution.A few days later, he called us and said that he would cover only 50% of the parts. He would absolutely not budge even though we told him that Lexus should cover 100% of the parts and labor as this was a known issue. I feel that Lexus sold us a car with a faulty engine and is now refusing any responsibility. At this point, I am seriously considering suing the company and will never buy a Lexus again.

VIOLENT SHUDDER/SHAKING OF THE ENGINE. When the CT200H is stationary or in motion the engine periodically shakes violently sometimes up to 30 seconds then it goes away. It happened on cold or hot starts. The EGR has been cleaned from carbon build up, has new spark plugs and coils are good. I have lately been noticing coolant loss. NUMEROUS PRIUS AND LEXUS OWNERS HAVING THIS SAME ISSUE. Check engine light. Finally came on with code P0301 cylinder 1 misfire.Called corporate and I was assigned a case manager. Well they were no help. They basically said you dont have warranty on the vehicle so we cant help! Dealer quoted approximately 4500.00 for a blown head gasket (not sure how that happened), a bad intake manifold, and ECU needs to be reflashed. Take into consideration that this vehicle has never been abused, I use it as my commuter vehicle. Also there are many people that have had the same issue with the CT200H and the Prius (both basically have the same engine/components). Anyway Im on the same boat with others on here, I will never buy another Toyota/Lexus. Will move into better vehicles. I highly suggest doing research before investing in a glorified shiny **. Happy holidays. ;)

I bought my brand new 2012 Lexus RX 350 in 2011 and luckily I bought platinum service with it. In 2016, when I feel the pulsation in my ride, I brought my car in for a checkup. The salesperson Mitchell ** told me a bunch of issues with my car and told me that I need to pay for the extra services with came up to be roughly $1,500. Thats ridiculous when I have the platinum warranty. I told him to look at my coverage and only do the work that are covered. He then told me that I need to pay the $148.71 fee since they had the technician assessed my car. That was absurd since I already told them the issue and the technician jumped into the car and took a ride and agreed with that but I have to pay for his fee?I was like whatever, if I pay that fee then they will fix my issues. After I paid the fee, Mitchell then told me that he had to call Lexus warranty service to check on the coverage and it will take a couple of days. He says those parts will be cover but he still needs to get a confirmation with Lexus warranty. So I unhappily left the service center and totally forgot about it. When I remember about the issue after I got the oil change, I went home and pulled out the contract that I first bought the warranty and surprisingly. Its listed in black and white that the rear shocks and ball joints are covered. So I showed it to the new salesperson and hes happily helping me with that. Only to replace the leaking rear shock. But not the ball joints since they are now in perfect condition because I got new tires. How is it that when I first brought in my car, those were the issues that you made me pay and now since its covered under the warranty, they are fine now? Its the same old ball joints. Time does not fix mechanism issues on automobiles without replacement.

I bought a Lexus GS 350, new in 2008. I previously owned (2) Lexus GS 300 and had not major problems with either. I bought the 2008 because I knew I was retiring, would be traveling (out of town parents/relatives) and there were such great reviews as it is now about the car: reliability, safety, craftsmanship. I maintained my car well, especially the oil changes, every 4,000 to 5000 miles. I had an oil change in Feb 2014, 86290 miles. On April 7, 2014, Low Engine Oil Level light came on (89676 miles), a total of 3,386 miles. I was told that the car was getting older and to check it and add oil if needed. May 21, 2014 the light came on again (92,847 miles) a total of 3,171 miles. And the list goes on! Of course the consumption tests says within consumption levels. I now have 121,817 miles on the car as of today. Im adding a quart of oil about every 2 weeks. I had the oil changed today 11/3/15 (**), and they wrote on the ticket oil level low prior to service. Lets see how long it will be before the light comes on again!Im sure Lexus knows theres a problem, no car just burns oil for no reason. I wonder are they telling those buying their cars that theres a Consumption problem after so many miles??? Probably not!! I have two friends, one with a GS 300 and the other a RX 300 that are having the same problem. I have a 1989 Mercury Marquis, within excess of 225000 miles, and Ive never had to add oil between oil changes. Nor has my husband who has a 2006 Ford Expedition with 148000 miles!! Something needs to be done and Lexus should take responsibility for this problem. Lets try to get it out to as many people as possible. If someone has a lawsuit in progress contact me, **. Id like to join the suit!!! Im 68 years old and shouldnt have to purchase another car; it wouldnt be a Lexus if I did!!!

I have a 2007 GX470 around 55000 thousand miles and park inside garage most of the time. I notice lil small crack around my cluster/meter for months now and I figure oh its just a small crack and then one day I notice a long crack running from left to right about 2 ft long. I call Lexus and they told me bring it in and they take pictures and turn out my extended warranty not cover. WTH and they had the nerve to charge me around $1200 and they ask can I afford to paid $500+. I told them I cant afford to paid anything. It suppose to be cover and they even said that they have customer with same problem. They will contact me 3-4 weeks and let me know how much it cost. Makes me dont want to buy any kind of Lexus car ever. Im disgusted.

Long story short. Do not buy a 2019 Lexus ES350 F Sport from this dealership or any other in the United States. Their much advertised Lexus Safety System+ 2.0 is a fraud on this car model. (“Consumer fraud occurs when a product or service does not perform as advertised”.) The “Road Sign Assist” does not work no matter what you do. Lexus so called “Technology Specialist” and Lexus engineers are unable to fix the problem as of January 9, 2019. I bought a 2019 brand new one for over $50,000 on November 14. 2018 and the system has not worked from day one, even that Lexus advertisement shows a photo showing a red stop sign on the head up. Nice photoshop Lexus. I have been in contact with the Lexus dealership and Lexus Headquarters since I found out the system just does not work, and all I have gotten is a run around. If you want further information feel free to call me.UP-Date: On January 10, 2019 at 11:12 am I received a call from Lexus Escondido Technology Specialist Rick ** telling me that the 2019 ES350 F Sport they sold me does not have the “Road Sign Assist” I paid for even that Lexus advertise it does and all my paperwork on the car says it does. If this is not fraud, I don’t know what is. I will now file a complaint with the California Consumer Protection Agency and the Federal Trade Commission about the deceptive car advertising Lexus is doing.

This is a great car with great qualities and it gives a great performance with many compliments to the inner side of the car. The inside is comfortable with a nice leather and design overall. There is also a great passenger capacity. It can fit mostly everything and give everyone enough room to have good comfort. I like this car a lot. The build and design are amazing and it is good on gas. There are not many personalization problems and it has great stock options.

I have been driving Lexus RX series since 2004 and Germain Lexus of Dublin Ohio is my dealer that I dealt with all those years. Just recently, I returned my leased 2017 RX350 and purchased 2020 RX350L. The deal was to forgive me for all remaining payments on my lease and to forgive me for the excessive mileage. Everything was verbally and was not in writing. Once I got my new 2020 RX350L, few weeks later I received an invoice from Lexus Financial Services to pay for excessive mileage. I called Lexus Financial Services and said the deal was to forgive me, they said, You have to contact Germain dealership and remind them to pay us the bill, I did and the sales manager I dealt with said that the deal was I have to pay for excessive mileage. I am 100% positive that he is not correct but unfortunately, there is nothing in writing to proof my case. I wrote a complaint on Germain’s website but no one contacted me, I also left a voicemail for the General Manager but he didnt return my call.My advice is to get every promise in writing before you sign anything.

Lexus reliability and service is mostly what I recommend. We own two Lexus and going forward, will probably always own Lexus vehicles. They are comfortable riding and driving with almost no road noise. The instrument panel and in dash navigation system and music system is very good. AND, the handling and responsiveness of the vehicle. We had an issue with our Lexus SUV in that the front end alignment would not stay in place for even a month. We went on line and saw that several Lexus owners had reported the problem. Lexus worked with us to find a solution and shouldered the cost of fixing the problem. The proposed solution worked and the fact that they covered the cost was a very pleasant surprise. Yes the car was under manufacturers warranty, but past experience has been that the dealership finds a reason why is not a warranty issue and passes the cost onto the car owner.

Lexus handles great on the road with a very smooth ride, comfortable seats and sound system. It also has great gas mileage and the tires has a very nice grip to them. It has satellite radio built inside and has the best leather seats in its class. Its a must have to me to have leather seats. You can make it fit your personality and customize it yourself. It has great engine, great sunroof and nice steering. If you like the best then youre going to love this car I promise. I am satisfied but it could be better. All the people who rides with me are very, very, very happy, love this car and love its nice design.

When buying a Lexus, you may have a larger initial investment but you will have a high quality car that needs little maintenance. Personally, our Lexus purchase was the best we have ever made in our last 40 years of buying experiences. The comfort is excellent. The low maintenance saves you money. And a Lexus will give you many more miles of driving than the average vehicle.

I leased a 2013 Lexus ES350 from Sewell Lexus in Fort Worth on Oct. 18, 2013. This is the 4th or 5th Lexus ES350 that I have leased and have been very satisfied until this car. We are both retired and have less than 9000 miles on it. We had driven this car without any problems up until Dec. 2014. In Dec. 2014 we went to start the car and the battery was dead. Sewell sent roadside service and replaced the battery. All was good until April 2015. Same problem, dead battery. They checked it out and said everything was good. In April 2015 same problem. They have checked it out. Cannot find problem. Said we dont drive it enough. If so, how did we drive it for over one year with no problems. Anyone else have same problem?

Probably this was my worst decision to buy a pre-owned 2014 Lexus IS 250 AWD back in 2016. I was certainly duped by looking at those J.D. Power ratings of dependability and reliability. Bought a pre-owned Lexus dealer certified 2014 IS 250 AWD and vehicle is in a very good in condition until a couple of days ago where AC was blowing hot air when I was doing a long trip with my family along with my newborn four and a half month old. The AC was working fine till we reach the destination and on our way back is where the AC did not work and we had to drive back home 140 miles under 95 degrees hot day with a four and a half month baby. I had shared my experience with my colleagues and they say I shouldve bought an extended warranty. Damn! Why in the world should I buy an extended warranty when I am paying so much for a car which is branded as reliable and dependable? This is nuts. So, I took my vehicle to the local Toyota dealer (obvious that the Lexus dealer is going to rip me off with their charges and that is totally fine because its LEXUS) and it costs me $700 to fix a sensor and redo the whole AC to be up and working. Very dissatisfied with Lexus and did not expected this kind of issue when the vehicle is still under 100,000 miles. Definitely, moving to a different brand in a very short time.

2014 Lexus 300H, PCS, almost kill me. I bought this car in 2014, and the car started using the brake system by itself. I was driving and the PCS would start flashing and all of the sudden the car came to full stop without reason. It happened 4 times, I took it each time to Lexus of Bellevue, they said they couldnt find the problem. The fourth time I was going 50 miles per hour and the car used the brakes by itself; I span and went into a ditch. Someone called the police and I called the Lexus road assistant. They towed the car, I thank God nothing happen to me or my friend. They looked at the car again and one more time the Lexus service said there is nothing wrong with the PCS. I hired an attorney and we are dealing with them right now. The car has been parked for 3 months now, and I am still paying for something I cant enjoy due that I dont feel safe driving it. Please if you own a Lexus that has PCS and you have experienced similar problem please come forward. Please comment. This system is called PCS, PRE COLLISION SYSTEM, the worst!!

I have a 2007 RX350 with 50,000 Km on it. I noticed oil drops on the garage floor. Dealership cleaned underneath the car and when I took it back for them to check where the leak was coming from, they said it was the timing chain cover; the whole engine must come down and the cost would be around CDN$2,500. If I do not have it fixed, can I just top up the engine oil or would there be other consequences?

After purchasing two Lexus’, I thought I would stick with the brand for a very long time. This will probably not be the case. After having a series of very negative experiences with my 17 RC350, I will most likely never buy another Lexus. A little while after purchasing the RC it started developing a tapping sound. This noise continued to get louder and I was able to hear it from inside the cabin of the vehicle. I was able to locate the noise coming from the mechanical fuel pump. I took it in to my local dealer for repair. They told me they were unable to duplicate the concern and the assistant service manager displayed no customer service skills whatsoever in any attempt to help me with my issue.I contacted the Service manager the next business day and was able to come in and work with him and the diagnostic tech to duplicate this noise. We spent an hour test driving and listening to another RC they had on the lot. I was told to make another appointment and they would take another look at it. While it was in this time, the dealer involved the regional field specialist and dug deeper. I was ultimately told that even though they were able to duplicate this concern, it was normal operation.I made a complaint with Lexus customer care and this complaint was escalated twice. Two of the three people I spoke to at Lexus were more interested in talking than actually listening to my concern and again showing any kind of customer service. This includes the last individual who was the highest executive level I could escalate this. They made it very apparent that they were not interested in assisting a repeat customer with a valid concern. They made it very clear that losing any further business was less important than repairing my fuel pump.Lexus advertises their luxury vehicles to be the quietest on the road, but when you bring them a valid noise complaint they don’t want to honor the bumper to bumper factory warranty. This is the opposite of what I expect when I invest in a luxury car company most of all Lexus. I did quite a bit of my own independent research and determined that fuel pumps are a bit of a sore spot with Lexus and a bit of an Achilles heel.My vehicle shares the same fuel pump as the IS and the GS. I was given a 2019 GS as a loaner vehicle and the fuel pump was at least 80% quieter. I was also able to determine that the fuel pump for all these cars has 4 successive part numbers. Lexus has obviously redesigned this part several times for important reasons. I am left to wonder if my generation was updated due to excessive noise. Ultimately the unwillingness of Lexus to take responsibility for their product and their customer service leaves me no other choice but to leave record of this and let others know what I have experienced.

At the end of 2015 I started receiving offers from Lexus to turn in my current Lexus leased vehicle and lease a new one. The offer included waiving the disposition fee and the remaining lease payments. Since my lease was up in April 2016 and I was happy with my current CT200h I decided to go ahead and exercise the offer. I called and verified that I was eligible and I checked with the dealership when I made the trade-in. Both Lexus Financial and the Lexus dealership confirmed I was eligible. Two months later and I am still paying for the car I turned-in early in January, Lexus Financial cant find the money automatically withdrawn from my checking account, and has sent me to collections! Im supposed to pay double for a car I turned in under their offer? And the collections agent flat-out lied about the status of my account. Her response when I told her the money had been withdrawn? No, your bank took it back. So, here I am stuck with a car I now hate, a bill for six months of lease payments on a car that only had three more payments to go.

I was looking for a nice sedan, and all the options available really blew me away. Very glad that I had decided to go with Acura over other options that were out there. A major selling point for me was the quality and sturdiness of the power windows. I was looking for something that will last me and not cost an arm and a leg when they break down so frequently. Ive had motors for windows go bad in several of my previous cars, so it was a must to find a brand with quality power windows. The windows work really well. The car is mainly for myself so I could really care less about the space, but if I do ever have passengers, Im pretty certain they will be very comfortable and that is awesome. I believe I will be staying with Acura the next time I am shopping for a vehicle.

A few weeks back, the dash started showing little hairline cracks in areas above the glove compartment/airbag location and they are getting bigger by the week. I contacted Lexus’ headquarters and they will not do anything about it. The dealers tell me it was due to a faulty material used in the dash that separates and corporate is aware. But since they dont get enough complaints, they will not replace because its very costly! Thanks, Lexus, for your piece of crap car that you wont take any responsibility for. My Ls has been in Lexus dealer since Dec 5 2016. Today is January 13th 2017 and I have yet to receive my car back. The vehicle needs a new navigation hard drive. I have third party warranty which covered the repair ($1400 part + labor). Prior to getting the warranty I bought new front end suspension parts for the vehicle. ($5,000+ air struts, upper and lower control arms and hardware, sway links etc all Lexus parts all out of pocket expense) I have all receipts for the repairs done and parts bought. My Vehicle had no issue or problems beside the navi when I brought it in for service. My vehicle was dropped off at Lexus on Dec 5 for the hard drive issue and still have yet to be fixed. I received the car back on Dec 27th only because I needed the vehicle for the new year as my loaner was way too small to fit my family in. Is300. (My car was 3 weeks sitting in the dealer parking lot doing nothing but waiting for parts). When I picked it up on the 27th driving back home from the dealer, CHECK HYBRID illuminated. I panicked. I pulled over and called the dealer. No answer. They were closed already. I didnt have this issue before bringing it to the dealer. I didnt worry too much because repairs still wasnt completed and maybe thats what caused the issue so continued on my way home. No problem. My Vehicle was returned on Monday (January 2nd) first thing to complete repair and the battery was diagnosed. Trouble code PA080 hybrid battery failure. Lexus wants $7,800+ to replace battery and my third party warranty covers all hybrid components except hybrid battery. My advisor informed me that I just missed the hybrid warranty period. 8 years/100k. I was informed that the vehicle will not drive for long and will leave me stranded somewhere down the road eventually if I continue to drive it.I travel from Massachusetts to New York often and cannot take that big of a risk. So I Filed a complaint about the battery as well as poor service. Manager Diane ** contacted me 24 hrs later saying she will make the contact with my dealer to see what can be done and speak with her manager. Communication was absolutely horrible. I had to call corporate multiple times just to get a reply. Diane never called me when she said she would. So I called again and they said Oh she left a message for you saying that your dealer will contact you today with a resolution. (One week later) She says Lexus corporate offers me a $300 credit for the inconvenience. I said What? Thats horrible. I drive a Ls600hL. Theres nothing I can get done or buy with that. I took the offer. Only because they wouldnt offer any further assistance. Something was better than nothing. As far as the hybrid battery, I asked her again what can Lexus do about this? She pretended as if this was a new story I was giving her. As if I didnt discuss it before with her. When The initial complaint was filed, it was regarding the hybrid battery. She says she will get back to me. Today Jan 13 2017. Corporate calls me and says they denied my claim for the hybrid battery and wont assist me on it. I have owned a Ls430, Ls460, and now a Ls600hL. Lexus top flagship. Never thought I would get service like this with Lexus. And its sad to say but this will be my Last and FINALE LEXUS.I will not support a company that cannot support the customers. I stood behind you for a number of years and never asked for a thing. Now when I need assistance you send me to hell. I will continue to share this wherever I can so all long term Lexus customers will know that Lexus isnt Lexus no more. So be prepared for anything. I no longer see reliability with Lexus. Thanks for showing me real customer service Lexus!

I spoke to Appointment agent to set up appt for my car to be seen both for brakes repair and review of rusting on all 4 door handles. Firstly, the agent suggested that he had never heard of such an issue (odd since he has so many 2009 Lexus models on his lot!). Not only was my rusting concern misdirected to an alternative department, my request for vehicle repair suggested I would have to wait in the dealership for hours rather than shuttled home to work and return to pick my car up (because I was out of shuttle territory)! This dealership is the closest one to me in Whitby. This experience and the lack of genuine service from the Lexus Dealership confirms, I love the car but will never buy or promote the brand based on my poor experience. I will never buy another Lexus or Toyota product again. The last Lexus ES350 I owned, is the last. I do not know how in the world Lexus could call a Lexus ES 350 “Bulletproof” when the heads blew on the one I had at 145,000 miles, not mention the failing computer, the alternator, the Vehicle Stability Control, and let’s not forget their melting dash, the allegedly lethal Takata airbag system, and years earlier that accelerator problem. I do not understand how anyone who had problems I had could possibly call it reliable. The whole experience was shameful. Given my experience with a Lexus, I now question Consumer Reports rating system for rating that company number one in reliability. I had American cars I got three to four times the life out of than this supposed “Bulletproof” reliable car. I am sticking Mercedes, Genesis, Honda, Mazda, Kia, or Hyundai. In my opinion there are better cars for the same or less money than the Lexus ES350 I owned.

I am an owner of 2006 GX 470 with a dashboard full of cracks. I received notice in July of 2015 that the dashboard replacement will be covered under an extended warranty Lexus must have created because of the volume of complaints received by other owners. My directions were to contact the local dealer, Wilde Lexus of Sarasota, Florida and register my VIN number and name and the dashboard would be replaced sometime in the first quarter of 2016. Today, Sept. 26, 2016 I called Wilde Lexus to get another update and Im told I am 9th on the list. Funny, because my last inquiry, I was 6th on the list. The service rep. had no excuse for this. So I asked what I could expect and she had no idea. She said the last shipment of dashboards was in July 2016 and nothing since.I then called Lexus Corp and spoke with a customer rep who knew even less. In fact she said dealers are getting a couple of dashboards weekly and the manufacturer is not keeping up with demand. She has NOOOO estimate or timeline to share with me. I told her Wilde Lexus has not received a shipment for over 2 months and they have no idea when to expect another. This is very poor customer service on behalf of the Corporate Lexus. I dont have an issue with Wilde, in fact they are great with service and maintain a high customer satisfaction level, in this case its corporate whos letting down their customers. Im not sure I would buy another Lexus because of this... however Wilde has a Jaguar, Honda, Rover, and a few other brands that I would consider over Lexus.

If I could rate 0 stars I would. I lease a Lexus IS300Fsport, I have had it for about 1 1/2 years now and I have had several issues with my car and Lexus does not care about trying to fix my problems. Ill start with when taking it in for oil change and regular service I advised them that my rear passenger tire had a problem because it was losing air and I was having to fill the tire every two weeks. I was told on 3 separate occasions there was nothing wrong with the tire. In December on my way to a meeting 2 hours away from home on the Turnpike I had a blow out on that tire. As of today I am still waiting for the service manager of the Fort Pierce location to call me back. When taking the car to a tire place I was informed that all 4 tires needed to be replaced as they were all cracked/dry rotted. This car is only 1 1/2 years old and has 25,000 miles. I was then shown that I needed brakes in the front. I spent $1,700.00 for tires and brakes on a new car. I have had many cars in my time and have never had to replace tires and brakes that soon and that low mileage. When I called the corporate office their response was that it was not uncommon. How is that even possible. They had no interest in helping me. On December 25, 2019 I got in the car to find a very nasty wet odor, I proceeded to feel the carpets and found that the passenger back carpet and under the seat was very wet, I dropped it off to the Kendal dealership as I was down there and going out of town. They had my car for 17 days. Never called to update me about the car nor called at any time to tell me what they were trying to do. I called every two days and got no information. After 17 days they called to tell me that they could not find anything and that I needed to pay them because they took the passenger seat out (without calling me to let me know this). By the way the car is under warranty. After 17 days I picked up my car with the same wet smell and wet carpet with them telling me I must have left a window open which I did not! They would not even dry it out for me which I asked them to do so that I could see if it happened again. I left the dealership and noticed that the cover plate underneath the car was not attached and was dragging, I went right back for them to tell me that it was not a big deal. It just needed to be clipped on, well why would the service person not do that before taking the car down off the lift. I then get home and it was dark at this point, but the next morning I woke to see that my driver side rim is destroyed!! I called the dealer immediately to advise them of this for them to tell me the manager was on a business trip and would return Saturday 1/18. I am at this point still waiting for him/her to call me back to discuss this matter. This is a lease and I can not turn the car in with a destroyed rim nor do I want to drive a $50,000 car that is only 1 1/2 years old with a destroyed rim. I am so disappointed in Lexus product but even more so with their staff/managers at more than one location. I would advise anyone thinking of getting a Lexus to spend your money elsewhere. I have been the owner of very expensive sports cars and have never had problems like this. The worst part is that Lexus does not even care! I guess that is what you can do when you are such a big cooperation. My daughter in law was either buying my lease out when it came time or getting a Lexus. I have advised her not to do either.... Very unhappy customer!

Never thought I would be writing a negative post about Lexus! I purchased a 2015 GS350 F Sport that was certified back in November 2018. It had 24,000 miles. It is still under the Manufacturer Warranty as well as the Certified Warranty. Last month I noticed the finish on the rims was peeling. I took it to the dealer and they took photos to send to the district Manager. I was told I would hear back in about a week of a resolution. Two weeks later, I still had not heard anything. I called the service rep. He told me he would get back with me. Later that day he called and said that the District Manager said that it did not appear to be a Manufacturer issue. Dissatisfied, I called Lexus Corporate and after many phone calls back and forth was told that they will not do anything about it! This is completely unacceptable. I will be sure to tell everyone know how Lexus does not stand behind their warranty!!

Showed the service writer Jaime at Pembroke Pines Lexus the center console covering that was cracking and degrading. He wrote up a service order and told me he would contact me in a few days regarding a warranty claim. I called him a week later and he told me that the person that handles warranty claims went on vacation and would be back in a week. I went away and after I returned I called him on February 5th or so. He said he had not heard anything but he would contact the appropriate people and have an answer for me by days end. I told him if I did not hear from him I would be calling Lexus. He assured me he would call that day. I never heard from him.I called Lexus USA and spoke to Ed. He said he would check into it and get back to me by Friday. I missed his call on Friday. He called Tuesday and informed me that as the dealer had told me, the damage as normal wear and tear. I just told him that my family had 4 Lexus automobiles and they would be our last. When you sell a car for $75,000, the interior should last more than 3 years. My previous car was a 2003 Cadillac, cost 1/2 as much and when I bought the Lexus the center console was in better shape after eight years of use than the Lexus is after 3 years. By the way, Ed from Lexus offered to pay for 1/2 the repair. As far as I am concerned the Lexus warranty is only a 1/2 warranty shown by this situation.

This has been the worst car I have ever purchased. When I first got it, the rear view mirror started turning dark and the stuff inside started turning black and now its horrible. Years later, the Dashboard and the door panels started getting sticky and anytime you touched them they got black stuff on your finger and would scratch the panels. The dash is so shiny that when you drive in the day you cant even see out the window because of the glare. Now the navigation system doesnt work and it operates the ac, radio, navigation and everything else about the car. I took it to the dealership and they wouldnt touch the nag because the dashboard would fall apart and they dont want to be responsible. They said this happens to everyone that comes in. I called lexus and they cant do anything for me because there hasnt been any complaints filed (what the rep tells me) yet all over the internet thats all you read. Its a shame, my wife want to trade her car in for a new lexus, but there is no way, especially when they wont even help us.

I took my 2010 Lexus IS250 to the Wilkie Lexus in Ardmore Pa. for the 60,000 mile service. They called after looking over my car to let me know that I needed a front driver side tire due to a bubble in that particular tire. I gave them the ok to replace the tire and to do some other things that they said had to get done which drove the cost up considerably. Well, a few weeks went by and I decided to wash my car. I noticed a bubble in my tire and realized my tire was never replaced! I called the dealership and left a message in the voicemail of the service advisor that wrote up the invoice as his name is on the invoice. Since its Sunday, I dont expect to hear anything from Lexus until tomorrow (Monday). At which point I hope they will do the right thing and replace the tire that I paid to have replaced, that was obviously not replaced!

My LS460 has best radio Lexus offers (Levinson) and at 67000 miles the radio amp failed and I have had no radio since. My car is always been maintained and in fact looks like a new car. I went to the dealership in Manchester who looked at the amp and said he saw no reason for the failure, the area was clean and dry. He suggested I call Lexus Consumer Relations. I did as they suggested and spoke with a Colleen. She said I needed to return to the dealership for a formal inspection to be put in writing. I said, If I do return and the report reflects the same thing my first visit did will you fix my radio amp? She said she could not make any promises… I said, Then why am I jumping through these hoops? She said it was required by Lexus. I returned as Colleen asked and received the same results: there was no reason, obvious reason for the failure. The information was relayed to Colleen and weeks later she called me and said Lexus was unable to offer any help... offer assistance. SO BASICALLY SHE WASTED MY TIME! To own an $80,000.00 car with only 67000 mile and no radio is crazy. Ive been driving around with a boom box on the passenger seat. I AM VERY UNHAPPY AND WOULD NEVER BUY ANOTHER LEXUS IF THIS IS HOW THEY ARE MAKING THEM TODAY.

I never thought of owning a premium vehicle. The track record of this company (Toyota) indicates a real commitment to quality that is built in. I might have bought the Highlander but I didnt. No remorse here. For a luxury vehicle the ride is a little bit harsh, but I like that, it handles well for a big vehicle. It is fast, much faster than the 4.0l ford ranger it replaced. Fuel economy? Meh, not great at 20mpg on average. The 3.5l V-6 is already a legend being in production a very long time. The six speed automatic is very nice and inspires confidant driving. Comfortable? Oh yeah, the heated (or cooled) leather seats more than make up for any road harshness. In a word this RX350 is fabulous. I have the base model and it sure is well equipped BUT, to tell the truth I do not find the infotainment system all that user friendly and as such, about the only part I use is the radio, not the Sirius radio. Lexus demands some big money to keep updates fresh, so they can keep it. I would rather use my Android phone. The market seems to favor SUVs. If youre in that market, be sure to test drive a new or used (pre owned) RX350. While youre at it check the resale prices on a ten year old model of your choice.

I currently own a 2013 GS. Initially, customer service was great until I had an issue with what should have been a routine fix. The problem is consistent throughout the lineup with the speaker performance. The door speakers are outperformed by the center channel and satellite speakers. The problem wasnt necessarily the manufacturer defect, but the treatment by the service staff. Im surprised a class action lawsuit hasnt taken place against Lexus for refusing to honor items covered under warranty or acknowledgement of the problem. To sum it up, the ten speaker layout in the 2013 Lexus GS 350 has a defect in the system. The voice coil in the door speakers malfunctions causing feedback to the channel. Today, I make my stand and refuse to be insulted by Lexus any more. Pursuit of perfection? Please adopt a new slogan. This is a brand I will never affiliate myself with, and yes never really means never.

Getting close to 50 years old, I decided to purchase a reliable, safe, easy to service car that will last until I can no longer drive. Bought a 2004 Lexus ES 330 with only 18K miles, certified pre-owned. Online reviews were glowing, mechanics said, Youll be bored, but just have oil changes up to 100K miles. Hah! At 20K miles, the dealer insisted that I needed new brakes ($1500?) before they score the rotors. Having owned MBZ, Jaguars, Alfa Romeos, and other temperamental exotics over the years, I am familiar with cars and when things should fail. I took the Lexus to an independent mechanic, and found the brakes were almost new, good for another 20K miles, at least (did brakes at 50K for a reasonable price). Scratch dealer servicing forever. The Lexus was always a compromise... noisy, rough ride compared to the Jags and MBZ, but I figured reliability and no drama was worth it. At 65K miles, struts started leaking... $1,000 ($3000 at dealer). I let them leak. Now, 70K miles, right after an oil change using synth-blend, not full synthetic oil, the valve cover gasket started leaking. Repair is $1,300, which includes timing belt, water pump, pulleys, etc... Cheap, compared to dealer, but still 25K miles too soon. Minor problems, but it seems that prices for simple maintenance on these Toyota/Lexus cars has grown to be as expensive and frequent as the exotics used to be. Might as well lease a BMW or Alfa with full service plan included, and flip it every 3 years. That, or an old classic that increases in value as it gobbles up your wallet in repairs. Like they used to advertise, You asked for it, you got it, Toyota. I sure as ** did! Nothing special about Lexus. Anyone want to buy a well maintained 70K mile ES330 needing 90K mile service and struts?

Before I begin my complaint I would like to say the car drives very well and is very sporty. I get a lot of compliments on the vehicle, then they say why is that peeling like that? My Email correspondence with Lexus about my issue: I have a 2006 GS300. I recently noticed my molding along the front windshield that runs along the top to the windshield beginning to PEEL. Really unbelievable for a luxury car. It is embarrassing and damaging to the Lexus brand to have something like this occur AT NO FAULT of my own to this vehicle. I was at the local dealership on a separate issue and was told the roof drip molding was $763.67, absolutely unbelievable. Total repair cost $1200. Why would this peel like this? This is my second Lexus. I had a LS430 before this. I have by far had more issues out of this vehicle than any others I have owned. I am just blown away and I need Lexus to stand behind their brand. I would like the roof molding repaired. This is just ridiculous to have an issue like this on this type of car.The response from Lexus: Thank you for contacting the Lexus Customer Satisfaction Department regarding your 2006 GS 300, Vehicle Identification Number **. We appreciate the time you have taken to share your thoughts. As an automotive manufacturer, Lexus feels its warranty is one of the most comprehensive in the industry, and demonstrates faith in the performance and reliability of its product line. Lexus also realizes that product failures can occur on any vehicle at any time, and regrets any inconvenience this may cause. In an effort to be sensitive to the expectations of Lexus customers, we review matters on a case by case basis when a product failure occurs outside the warranty period. We have examined all information pertinent to your request for assistance, including the nature of the repair, mileage on the vehicle, and the warranty expiration date. We conclude it is not appropriate for Lexus to provide assistance on the repair of the front windshield moldings. We apologize that this may not be the response you hoped for. If you require further assistance, please contact the Lexus Customer Satisfaction Department at 1-800-255-3987, Monday through Friday, 5:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., or Saturday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Pacific Time.My final response: First off thank you for your time and attention to my concern, however I am not pleased with the decision. I see now purchasing a second Lexus was a mistake on my part. I understand Lexus has the right to not stand behind their product and I have the right to not purchase their product. I understand CLEARLY from the discussion from my service advisor that I purchased a USED vehicle not a new one. However as I stated I purchased a used Lexus with a verifiable service history. In fact it was a Lexus certified vehicle. I purchased a used Lexus, not a used Hyundai, Mazda, Chevy, Honda or Ford. Which by the way has a more comprehensive warranty than a Lexus. 5 years, 7 years, and lifetime on certain parts. And cost far less on the initial purchase. Now a Lexus as stated in consumer reports has a better resale and loan value. So I suppose there is the trade off.But as I stated on the outset I will not be purchasing another USED Lexus product certified or not. I will however let the message board know about my experience. I will also let anyone know about Lexus products/customer service and if the paint begins to peel for no reason, out of the blue it’s your issue. Lexus customer service will stand behind the small issues but when it comes to anything costly you’re on your own. I wonder if the door falls off next or the spoiler blows off while driving, the bumper just comes unhooked for no reason, my seat brakes apart… I mean really whats next. Even though it’s a luxury car, it’s not quality built - these are things that should not happen to this type of car. This email may not mean much in the grand picture. I am just one consumer, but I will exercise my right as a consumer. My wife and I have owned Mercedes, BMW, Acura, Audi, and Infiniti. We never had any issues like this to occur. Lexus wants nearly $1200 for a piece of plastic molding!!! Ironically I have never heard of these things happening with a Toyota, only with a Lexus. A Lexus may look good but the quality is another subject.

My car had a sunroof, full-leather interior, a 6-cd disc changer, v6 engine, power windows and automatic locks. I also enjoyed the ability to adjust my sunroof as I pleased or use the tilt option for a slight breeze. I greatly appreciated the cd changer given that I traveled between cities a lot. It gave me comfort to know I truly would enjoy my time on road. I didnt have the chance to upgrade my car much due to financial limitations. However, Lexus did offer many different upgrade and personalization options. There were upgrades for the seating as far as different colors of leather, and initial embroidery that add a personal touch. Even though the car seemed small, it could really hold its weight in passengers and seat them comfortably. At one point, I had eight people in a 4-door Lexus--6 kids and 2 adults! I hauled off my whole apartment with just this one car! I liked the size because it wasnt too big or too small and it was very easy to handle and control the vehicle. Overall Lexus truly holds up to their brand by creating reliable, luxurious and efficient cars. As a college student, I constantly traveled between cities and in just five years I put on over 200,000 miles. Im thankful to have had my Lexus by my side while pursuing my future!

The entertainment module must have more shorts than Bermuda. It changes music modules, freezes on volume settings, freezes on XM channels, etc. Changing fan speeds will often lead to music module changes as well as other unexpected changes to controls in the entertainment module. This has been a continuing problem since purchase. We were told that the radio was replaced but that was either a lie or the replacement radio was an equal piece of junk and driving under high-power lines is not a consistent cause of the changes. My 2013 Lexus ES 350 started leaking not long after we bought it new in August 2013. We have an automatic car wash by our house that we have used for years with no problems. My 13 Lexus always leaks and it has been to the dealership five times to figure out why. I even called them one morning on my way to work because rain was leaking in the roof. I was informed yesterday that the dealership got Lexus involved and that their response was that their car is not designed to go through a high pressure car wash and that it could not be fixed. I was shocked and terribly disappointed by their response. None of my previous cars, nor any of our friends or family who have cars with sunroofs have had a problem at this car wash, but Lexus cant design their car to go through leak free!? If they fixed it or told me they were still going to try and figure it out, it would be a little easier to accept, but to tell the consumer that essentially their car is not built well enough to withstand the same conditions as every other make and model out there indicates to me that it is not fit for operation and not worthy of its price tag!

This review is not about a dealership experience or tires. This is a decision that Lexus and Enform made consciously and won’t rectify. In certain model years of the GX 460 Lexus requires you to have a couple of paid subscriptions to use remote start. Now I get and fully understand the need for on-going service with the app that uses cellular signals to remote start, unlock, lock all that jazz via the app. However, to disable the key fob from working direct from fob to truck and have it require a subscription is bs! This vehicle already lacks in so many ways (i.e. terrible infotainment, worst navigation, etc.). This is just a pathetic choice on their behalf. You can experience a painfully slow touchscreen before you buy it and decide if you want to live with that on a $60k truck or not. When you buy you get a year of Enform service so you can’t experience the issue I’ve stated until after the subscription runs out and you then learn about this poor software choice made. Apparently it has caused enough attention that they stopped doing it for 2019+ but have no plans to retrofit a few years (maybe 2016-2018). I don’t know all years impacted as even Enform reps know jack about this. Shame on whatever genius department has their grubby hands in this.

The dash started developing very fine hairline cracks about a year ago. Over the last month the cracks have gotten much worse. I have seen even picked up small foam pieces on the floor coming from the dash. It is a real shame since I otherwise like this car. I have informed LEXUS Customer Service via e-mail with pictures about this quality problem and they asked me to take the car to a dealer for evaluation. The dealers replacement estimate was $2519.00. I informed customer Service about the cost and was told that the car was out of warranty... They did not have to offer anything to get it fixed but will give me 25% off the repair. This would still cost me $1889.25, totally unacceptable. I have owned many cars brands in the past and none of them ever had a quality issue like this. When buying a very expensive car anyone expects top quality. I do not understand is why there is such a big cost difference between various dealers for the same repair (based on other posts). Recent history shows that Toyota is reluctant to stand behind their products and if there is a class action lawsuit, I would like to know how to join. Unless Toyota comes forward with a better offer this will be the last car I have bought from them.

Be careful with this problem, I had it happen to me and the dealer said it will likely be a 2500 dollar repair. I went on the net and researched the problem and found it required a software update so I thought 2500 is a bit much so from my computer experiences. I thought a reboot might work so I disconnected the battery cable and left it off for about 10 minutes while I cleaned the cables and posts. Once reconnected, rebooting started and problem fixed proving to me once again that all car dealers are crooks and now Lexus is at the top of all the crooks. It took me about 15 minutes total to do this repair saving me 2500 dollars which equates to 10 thousand dollars an hour at the dealership. They should be arrested for fraud.

I am the owner of two Lexus vehicles. I am investing my time to inform you of my feelings towards Lexus; as the respect, integrity and trust, which I have so highly esteemed about Lexus, has been compromised. This time the 2007 Lexus ES 350 with just 34,000 miles encountered a problem with the passenger window as it would no longer function properly. What I learned is that the window mechanism is so cheaply made that the plastic parts just broke apart. This design flaw resulted in a five hundred dollar plus repair bill that stole hard-earned dollars from other priorities my family has at this time. When I needed to truly rely upon Lexus reliability during challenging economic times, you let me and my family down. What is concerning is the fact the other three windows will certainly face the same catastrophic failure. (And surprisingly, considering the fact that the windows are hardly ever used as the Florida heat makes the AC priority one). The bottom line is this: Why would I ever buy another Lexus product when price and value are so far apart? Please let me know how you may be able to help given the aforementioned situation that my family and I currently find ourselves in.Lexus Service Specialists phone reply: As you did not visit our service department and took your car to a private repair facility, you voided your warranty. My car was well out of warranty, but they said that the CPO (certified pre-owned) Warranty would have covered this had I gone to the dealer. Well actually, the CPO would not cover a window repair; but the Service Specialists... they would have helped if I would have asked. Wow, with my other Lexus which had several service issues, the dealership was very specific that the warranty did not cover my problem and all costs would be borne by me. It is so sad to be witnessing the demise of the famed Lexus brand name. My friends and neighbors, who also own Lexus products, have also commented never again when asked if they would purchase another Lexus, as their own experiences have been much worse than mine… so sad.

Took my RX330 into Pohanka Lexus in Chantilly, VA for a state inspection on 9/14/13. My car was rejected due to the passenger side mirror. In order to not drive around with a rejection sticker, I inquired about how much the mirror itself would cost. John informed me that the mirror would be about $450 plus $65 for labor plus a replacement bulb was needed above the license plate giving me a grand total for a side mirror and inspection $600.44.A front mirror doesnt even cost that much. When I asked why was it so much, the reply was because its motorized. I had visited another Lexus dealership 3 months prior for tires and nothing about the side mirror was mentioned. I feel like I was taken advantage of and that Pohanka Lexus overcharged to replace only the mirror for my car to pass inspection.

I had a call from a Lexus case manager name Eric at extension ** about an issue not covered by Lexus, this guy brushed me in two minutes, and lied about a return call he never made to me on a Friday. Today is Tuesday Oct 17, 2017, if I did not answer his call, why did he waited till now tuesday to tell me my car is not covered, not to mention my car has been in the dealer for two weeks waiting on this case manager guy to make a decision. Very poor and professional performance for a luxury car company. Will keep posting reviews on other sites. Dealer service was 5 ⭐️ from my service advisor Jose to the service manager, will recommend.

2017 Lexus GPS - Queuing up the GPS the radio volume works properly and quiets down so you are able to hear the request. However when giving you instructions the radio remains playing and doesnt quiet down. As such you cannot hear the instructions because the radio continues playing. This causes mass confusion & almost caused an accident several times. Piece of junk. Contacted Lexus. They offered to buy me a Garmin!! They know about the problem however they havent fixed it. Bottom line this is the last Lexus I will ever buy. Beautiful automobile but terrible company to deal with. Product is defective and extremely dangerous!

Purchased new 2017 Lexus (our 3rd) and canceled the balance of our Enform for our old Lexus. However, after multiple calls, emails and over 10 weeks, still no refund. Lexus customer service failed to provide satisfaction, just stating they are behind in payments. Furthermore, when I purchased the 2017 Lexus I had asked twice for a customer survey (for dealership/sales), still, no survey and I bought the car in early May 2017.

I am an owner of this model mentioned in title and did not know what I was getting myself into when purchasing this vehicle. Should have done further researches. Anyway, we learned from mistake. This model is well known for his faulty ABS actuator and Lexus would not want to replace it saying that you are out of the warranty time frame of 5 months (Despite the very low mileage that you have), when they know for sure the car was made with a faulty part (which is why they extended the warranty on it in the first place). That is very low coming from Lexus. They are supposed to be one of the world class customer service especially considering the price of their product. Like I said, Ive learned my lesson. Last Lexus car here.

I have owned two LEXUS ES since 2001 and have had excellent experience with each. My first was a 1998 and was finally totaled by a hit and run driver in 2016 but had 275000 miles on it without a single repair to the engine or transmission. I serviced as recommended but nothing broke on that car. We have a 2007 now with all options and love this car too. So far at just over 100k miles, we have had mice eat some wires under the hood and the VSC, traction and check engine lights have remained on since repaired and we are not sure why. Also the new car has been hacked and cant figure out how to solve. To those who complain about paying annual to use features, I say dont buy luxury if you cannot afford it and every car has additional features to pay for! OnStar Satellite radio, etc. Overall Lexus is an affordable car at new, used prices so no complaints here! Also one thing about Lexus of the so many things I love is that there is NO road noise!

I took my car in for diagnosis, after hearing a low grinding sound. He a bearing in the pump was failing and the pump needed to replace at a cost between $2,500 and $3,000. To access that pump, the engine needs to be removed, that takes 16 hours! While youre having that work done, he told me to also have the spark plugs replaced. Get this, the average cost to replace them is $311 to $396. The parts cost is less than $20. The remainder of the cost is labor. I think the costs for doing minor repair jobs is ridiculous - whoever heard of removing the engine to replace the water pump (replacing the plugs at the same time, saves you money). Id like to meet the numskull responsible for this thoughtless design and tell him a thing or two. Do these two minor job.

First off, I LOVE my 2006 RX 330! I have no complaints about the performance of my car. I have been having issues with the paint. Several years ago, I had the paint redone on one of my outside mirrors. Now the clear coat is coming off of both mirrors and all of the handles. Its also beginning to peel from the hood of the car. I have also noticed rust under a couple of the handles. Being that my car is only 8 years old, I feel that there was a faulty paint job from the Lexus company and I would hope that you would offer to pay for this atypical issue.

My suv is my mom car but I feel nice in it. I need the space and amenities of an suv because of my children but I am just as happy taking this car out solo. Lots of quality comes standard but additions are easily added at the dealership. My suv fits 7 very comfortably. I have 3 car seats in the back and space to move around and maneuver as needed. I can also easily load groceries and whatever else I need. I am very happy with my purchase and will buy a Lexus again.

On July 5, 2015 my husband took my car to the Lexus Orland Park, IL dealership to have an oil change. On arriving, the serviceman told him that my car needed other work. My husband already knew that he could not authorize any service on my car without my approval. So my husband called me on his phone and let me speak to the serviceman on his phone. I explained to the salesman that I was headed out of town the following day and did not want to do any other work until I returned. I told him to only do the oil change. He was adamant about my windshield wipers and said that I really need new ones. So I told him only do the oil change and wipers. Minutes later I received an email with a price of $417. I called the serviceman and ask how much was the wipers and why was the bill so high. He told me I needed a 90,000 service and that he went ahead and did it. I told him I did not authorize him to do the 90,000 mile service. He told me that my husband told him to do the 90,000 miles service. He told my husband, after he got off the phone with me that I said to do the oil change and wipers and 90,000 service. So my husband signed for the work. When I called him to asked him why did he do what I did not authorized him to do, he said, my husband told him to do it. After he got off my husbands phone he lied and told my husband that I had authorized the 90,000 miles service and then lied to me saying my husband had authorized the work. I told him I would not pay for it and I wanted to speak to his manager, but his manager said that there was nothing he could do but give me 10% off because the work had been done. These people are frauds. So do not take your cars to them. They will do work you did not authorize and will keep your car if you cant pay. I will be writing to the States Attorney office, they need to be investigated.

I have a Lexus 350 bought in 2013. I love it!!! However, I think there is a potential danger in one of the features of placement of knobs!!! The ignition round button to the right of the steering wheel and the knob for the radio are too close together and I have twice now pushed the radio button thinking I had turned the ignition off!!!!!!! There was extraneous noises from a lawn mower and I just went inside and left the car running. I was shocked when I came out an hour later and found the car running. I believe the two buttons, probably the ignition button should be placed in another area higher, lower or someplace away from the radio button. Now I realize if I had locked the car it might have sounded an alarm, but not sure. Sometimes it is not necessary for me to lock my car and I just push the button and go inside. I am now very nervous and feel stressed about pushing the wrong button and always going out to re check. Would appreciate your feedback on this for what I think is a design problem and could cause a dangerous situation. Thank you so much. This note.

I own a 2012 Lexus CT 200h. Absolutely love my car. 2 1/2 weeks I was in a car accident that was not my fault. My car went to Lexus of the quad cities to get an estimate. While in for getting the door fixed rust was noticed on both of the front door seams. We questioned it and had to get in contact with Lexus. My husband talked to Shawn directly at Lexus. They sent someone out to look at my car. Since my car has rust on the seams they will not cover it, as it is not rusted through. Lexus warranty says corrosion or perforation for 6 years unlimited miles. Since the door was already being painted it would not cost anymore to fix the seam under the door. Shawn told my husband nothing he could do about it and no one else he could speak to. I dont know about you but who wants to spend $40,000 on car that is only 4 years old and its rusted. I guess I thought buying a Lexus was not buying a Ford Focus, even though I owned a Ford Focus 10 years ago and it never rusted. Customer service not good, neither is warranty.

I had an oil leak under my 2003 Lexus GX 470. I was told it was from the transfer case and electronic actuator. The cost to repair would be $2,000 because it required 20 hours of labor to replace a seal. I told them to forget it. I went on the Internet and found similar problems other owners were having--same type of $2,000 charge.I found one person who said that he did the repair himself, described the procedure and took pictures. It was a simple O-ring replacement in the electronic actuator. I crawled under my car, took my own pictures and compared them to his pictures. The leak looked similar. I took the instructions and pictures to a local repair shop, not Lexus.I went over the information with the owner and he said it looks pretty simple. He put my car on a lift, raised it, removed 3 bolts and slid off the actuator. The O-ring was bad. Lexus did not have an O-ring in stock but Toyota did, which was the same part number. The O-ring was $5.00. Lexus was probably charging $20.00. He replaced the O-ring and reinstalled the actuator in less than one hour. This $2,000, 20-hour labor job took one hour and cost me just $85.85. Now, that makes me feel good but very angry at the same time, knowing how I could have been ripped off. I just want to let the public know that you should do some investigation on the Internet before making a high dollar commitment. You might find an answer that will save you thousands of dollars.

My GPS system totally went out on me. I spoke with a co-worker of mine who owns a 2006, and the exact same thing happened to her. She told me to go on Consumer Reports and look up this is a well known issue and Lexus is doing nothing about it to fix the issue. I called Lexus to inquire about the issue. The woman over the phone told me out her mouth there have been some cars my brand with GPS issues, but my car is no longer covered under warranty and it could cost me up to $2000 to fix the issue. I bought this car brand new, and this is supposed to be the best of the best. I was told when I purchased the car Lexus honors their mistakes, but it doesnt seem like they are doing it now. This isnt fair to the customer at all. They charge over $5000 for the GPS and in a few years while you’re still paying for the car the GPS breaks down, and they wont cover the cost to fix it. I am very disappointed in Lexus. I thought they had a customer first approach. I am also letting headquarters know how disappointed I am.

I purchased a 2007 470LX in excellent condition. There is rust on the chrome or metal of the seat belts.Upon delivery, I expressed my dissatisfaction and concern about it being water damaged, but got no satisfactory explanation. Lexus is aware of frequent occurrences with RX 330 back door 1/4 window molding falling off. It happens for no other reason other than poor design. I had many vehicles in my life, but regardless of age of those vehicles, did not had a case of loosing not damaged body parts. When this happened to my Lexus RX 330, I vent to my Lexus dealership (where I purchased new this vehicle) and learned that Lexus will cover the window but not the labor for replacement as the vehicle is not under warranty. The tiny shiny molding which was not attached in proper way is not made as a spare part- the whole window has to be replaced???I did call the Lexus satisfaction line and a Case manager called me the next day to tell me the same thing - my vehicles body part falling off is not covered under warranty. I asked her what is the next that I will loose while driving. And I thought the LEXUS makes high quality vehicles and will be doing right thing to maintain its reputation. I purchased a 2016 Lexus ES350 in May 2016. For the first year Lexus offers a one year complimentary subscription to their Enform Safety Connect and Service Connect features. The Service Connect feature is supposed to provide maintenance alerts and the health of your vehicle through a Vehicle Health Report available by e-mail or by viewing the Health Report on the Lexus Drivers Website. The Service Connect feature has never worked from the day I picked up the car. Since May I have called Lexus Corporate 5 times about this issue and contacted the Lexus dealership twice but I get no satisfactory answers. No one can tell me what the problem is nor can they resolve the issue. Frankly I have given up on getting this issue resolved. Lexus wants $164.89 for a one year subscription for the Safety and Service Connect package. I have, therefore, decided not to renew the subscription when my one year complimentary subscription ends. Lexus has the audacity to charge $164.89 for a service where one the components of the subscription they cannot provide.I have had other issues that I have called Lexus Corporate about. I used their Built IT tool and I relied on information on their website when I configured my ES350. However, when I went to the dealership to order the car I found that some of the information was wrong and the car could not be ordered in the configuration per their Build It tool. In addition, when I took delivery of the car I found that the interior of the car was not what was shown per the Build It tool. When I complained to Lexus Corporate about it I was told Lexus was not responsible for any incorrect information on their website and if I relied on that information then that was my problem. This was my first Lexus and it will be my last. The Customer Service is simply not what one expects from a high end car company. I have had Mercedes cars in the past and if I had an issue they promptly took care of it. Lexus does not seem to care about their customers.

They have SUVs that offer 3 rows, midsize SUV for smaller families, and cars, all filled with luxury and greatness. I love my backup camera and my warning sensor in case Im close to hitting something. As far as I know they offer any upgrade you would want. You can literally customize anything. You can pick the color of seating, flooring. You can even customize driver preference for the drivers side car which has 2 buttons that you can program for 2 drivers. So, its extra convenient. Also, they have sunroof option and they have a ton of beautiful colors to choose from. Carpets can be customized like in SUVs where you can customize between bench or captain seats. DVD installation available as well. We bought the es350 and have since had 2 kids. For five years, it has fit us well and accommodated my family comfortably, until the 2nd child.
