2022 Hyundai Kona N Line FWD Review & Test Drive

With today’s dominance of crossover utility vehicles (CUVs), manufacturers are finding creative ways to make their current lineup stand out in a crowd thus attracting a wider range of potential buyers. Hyundai has joined the bandwagon to add a new sporty appeal to additional vehicles with the Kona being one of the first CUVs to receive such treatment in a new N Line trim, which falls between the SEL and Limited trims.
Performance and Driving Character
The new 2022 Hyundai Kona has already been an attractive offering among sub compact crossovers and a new N Line trim it helps bridge a gap between the mid-level SEL trim and the top Limited trim. Only, the Kona N Line doesn’t do much to add any performance to what you find in the Kona Limited, which gets the same 195 horsepower and 195 lb-ft torque 1.6-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. Having the 195-horsepower engine over the Kona SEL trim’s 147-horsepower is an added benefit especially when you opt for the Kona N Line front-wheel-drive model like my test vehicle. Opting for such a configuration will get much better fuel economy over the all-wheel-drive Kona N Line or Limited trim with 29 mpg city, 35 mpg highway, and a combined EPA estimate of 32 mpg. The all-wheel-drive Kona N Line or Limited trims get 27 mpg city, 32 mpg highway, and 29 mpg combined.
The turbocharged engine gets mated to a 7-speed automated dual-clutch transmission, which is great for the direct connection and fuel economy but can be a little unrefined when you find yourself creeping along at low speeds.
Driving the new Kona N Line is mostly a thoughtless experience until you have to navigate through heavy crawling traffic where the dual-clutch transmission shows its faults with somewhat of a jerky feeling with it engaging the automated clutch. Crawling around 5 to 10 mph isn’t exactly a fun experience if you’re not careful and soft with your throttle application. That direct connection, apart from somewhat of a lag upon initial take-off from a stop, is part of the sporty attitude in the Kona N Line. There’s ample torque that often breaks the front wheels loose upon moderate to full throttle inputs coming out of a turn at low speeds. In a way, the Kona N Line is fun and lively with its rather stiff suspension that can be a bit punishing at times. Zero to 60 mph takes about 7.4 seconds if you’re able to limit front wheel spin with traction control disabled. There’s hardly ever a lack of power through the midrange and beyond and you’ll feel plenty confident in jumping out in highway-speed traffic.
Hyundai’s “N” nomenclature is starting to be shared through a good portion of the lineup with the Kona now getting the N-treatment for both an N Line model and a full-on Kona N with even more power (276-horsepower) and a sports-tuned suspension setup. With the Kona N Line, there’s more of a sports appearance change that sets it apart from the rest of the Kona trims. As far as equipment, the Kona N Line splits the difference in the SEL and Limited trims but receives a few goodies in hopes that the N Line becomes a highly sought-after trim level, along with the more-powerful engine that’s in the Limited trim.
Interior and Tech
For the added equipment, the new Kona N Line not only gets the more powerful engine and virtually the same fuel economy in FWD version as the less-powerful SEL and SE trims, but it gets the highlighted add-on equipment of a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, larger 18-inch wheels that are unique to the trim, sporty heated front seats, and somewhat of a unique exterior appearance that makes the Kona look sportier and more premium than the two lower trims.
Where the appearance departs from the premium aspects is the overall interior theme where there’s nothing but hard plastics adorning the dashboard with the only soft-touch area, apart from the seats, is the center armrest. There is a neat play on the plastic trim having a texture and the large 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen, part of the optional Tech Package, that does well to keep your attention from the plastics. The infotainment system remains to be the user-friendly setup that I’ve raved about in the past on Hyundai vehicles, and in the Kona N Line, there’s wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto that can also be paired through USB.
Seating areas up front are surprisingly accommodating for adults of most sizes. There’s even quite a bit of adjustability in the power driver’s seat. The rear seating is a little cramped but provides just enough space for either two adults or three smaller kids. The 60/40-split seatbacks can fold down to open up the 19.2 cubic feet of storage behind the rear seats to 45.8 cubic feet.
Other notable features that the optional Tech Package adds is a good-sounding Harmon Kardon premium audio system, power sunroof, LED headlights with highbeam assist, LED taillights, Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go, highway driving assist, and an electric parking brake.
Safety
The Hyundai Kona gets a few standard active safety features including forward collision warning and mitigation, lane departure mitigation, and lane-keeping assist. On the Kona SEL trim and N Line trim you get the addition of a blind-spot monitor and rear cross-traffic alert.
Pricing
Hyundai’s quest to keep its products relevant and a little different from the rest of the crowd is paying off well, especially with the additions of new N Line and sporty performance-oriented N vehicles. The Kona N-Line is just one more move that keeps the brand fresh among younger crowds and those small growing families that want something to stand out instead of sticking with the typical vanilla crowd of crossovers. With such, pricing remains to be respectable starting at just $21,300 before any fees. My Kona N Line test vehicle in a front-wheel-drive configuration painted in an eye-turning Blue Wave color comes to $29,790, including a $1,245 freight and handling charge.

This will be my LAST Hyundai. I will EVER buy. I just wish I have a bigger audience to advertise what a fraudulent auto company this is. You will NOT get this from Honda or Toyota. I got this vehicle (2013 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid Limited) NEW. After 8 yrs of driving it, I lost the 10 yr/100,000 mile warranty because I just went beyond the 100,000. So on the last week of 2021, I nearly got stuck in the highway because the car would not accelerate and it was jerking all along. I quickly pull over to the side of the break down lane. My car was towed to the nearest Hyundai dealership that I can find. Due to a lot of people having trouble with their cars, the dealership told me I had to wait for 3 weeks before they have a chance to check my car. Then, I ask if they can give me a loaner car while this car is in service. This dealership like other Hyundai dealerships that I have worked with told me that they cannot.I read other feedbacks from people who gave their ratings here. I noticed there were many people with the same experience I had to go through with regards to a no loaner policy. I owned Honda in the past and no matter what condition my car is, Honda and its dealerships would NEVER let me go without a loaner. I even told the Hyundai dealership that I have an 80+ yr old parent I need to take care of and bring her to see the doctors often. I need a vehicle at all time but still, there is no luck. Now, i understand that maybe my vehicles issue is due to wear and tear. But still, if there is a RECALL, I would expect to get a loaner. NO way. no loaner even with recalls. And this vehicle had a TOTAL of 6 recalls! None of the recalls provided me with a loaner.What Hyundai asked is to have you save your receipts and ask for compensation in its online Hyundai USA system. DO NOT TRUST IT. Why? First, they tell you that they need 180 days to process it. Think about it.. 180 days to process a claim??? I submitted my rental in the past with everything including my receipts to them and you know what I got? After waiting for more than 180 days on one claim, I contact them. The lady on the other end told me the claim was denied and rejected. I said why? She just told me there was a mix up. But I personally did NOT EVEN get any notification of the rejection. Really, dont bother submitting a claim. You will not get a DIME from them. They will find every way to deny it even if it is a legitimate claim. if Hyundai has a No loaner policy, at least make the vehicles reliable. I have only 108,000 miles in my car. This auto company should be ashamed of themselves for making junks and unsafe vehicles for consumers and expect the consumer to pay for their mistakes. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH HYUNDAI. I dont understand why people here would give them a 4 or 5 star rating. Well, they shall know what I mean once they go beyond 100k miles in their vehicles. Perhaps they will regret that they praise this unprofessional company; and one last point if people do not know already, THIS IS NOT A JAPANESE COMPANY. This morning I found my front passenger tire completely deflated in the parking lot of my apartment complex, right as I was trying to get to work. I reached out to Hyundais roadside assistance hotline and I spoke with Bridget, who was so patient with me and very helpful. She was very detailed with me and was able to get assistance to me in under an hour. They also sent a link to my cellphone so that I could track en route where the tow truck was and how soon they would be there. Josh, my roadside assistance mechanic, was early and could not have been nicer. He was finished with my tire replacement in ten minutes or less and answered all of my questions. He also made sure I had an appointment right away to get my tire fixed/replaced. My service today was excellent and I highly recommend Hyundais 24/7 assistance program. They really made me feel like a valued customer.

Unlike other fobs the key does not fold out, it is an L-shaped key that slides right out of the fob when pressure is put on the small button which protrudes from the fob approximately 1/16 of an inch and releases the key. All other buttons are recessed. It has fallen off in my purse, in my pocket, on the floor of my car, while opening the door of my car, under my desk, off my keys as I picked them up off the seat, and I have even found it on the floor under my key hanger by the door. My husbands has fallen off in his backpack while setting the keys on his desk, in his pocket, and while opening the door.

After 15000 miles I needed a new transmission (it was covered) however my dealership did not have loaner cars so I had to pay for a rental, pay for Uber to get the rental, pay for the uber from the rental to pick up the car. Then to my surprise at 20000 miles I needed 2 new tires (which had 0 coverage). I was told to call Good Year. They covered the tire warranty.... Well 400.00 later I had 2 new tires for no reason except they were worn out!!! Hyundai basically said, Oh well!!! So the wonderful warranty they shove down your throat when you are looking is not all it is cracked up to be! BEWARE.

Bottom of the car, which is covered with what appears to be black cardboard, began peeling off. Apparently driving in the snow is considered reckless driving and not covered by warranty. If you live anywhere there is snow, do not purchase vehicles from countries that do not have such weather. And definitely do not purchase extended warranties!

Why I have rust particle in top of the tailpipe every day? UMMM To repair I have to paid 400.00 dollars to the body shop to remove the bumper cover and surprise, we found metal shaving in the cavity of the bumper frames were the two bolts hold in place the uni-body and the bumper frame. We have photos and planning to reporting to BBB. Manufacturers corporation sometimes they have angry employee damaging the products to make the company look bad. The quality control department for Hyundai is completely responsible for any FOD left in a car. The dealer was notified, they dont care. I submit all the evidence to Allstate claim department. Total repair 650.00.

My mother-in-law took her 2004 Hyundai Elantra with 50,000 miles to Olympia, WA to have her car serviced for her move to Georgia. The timing belt was changed, belts changed, oil and fluids changed, system flushed, etc., except for one major thing. When changing the timing belt, it is required that the water pump is replaced as well. The technician did not think that this was necessary. The vehicle broke down about 20 miles from Salina, KS, and it cost $255 for a wrecker and $455 for a trailer to transport the car to the dealership in Wichita, KS. It would have taken another $1850 - who knows what to fix the problem because the water pump that was to be replaced failed and the block is cracked because of overheating. My mother-in-law had no choice but to purchase a new car so that we can continue our journey home.

Since the purchase of 2006 Sonata, I have had to have seat belts, seat, sensors for air bags repaired due to air bag light staying on. This car has been repaired for air bag light six times under warranty and now will cost $325 for the same parts originally replaced. Average miles between repairs of air bag is less than 1 every 6,000. Once, there was less than 200 miles between fixes.Dealer states repair not covered under extended warranty. Awaiting call from Hyundai CS. If not covered, I will probably have to do without air bag system working because they obviously have a defective system and cost is too high to repair every 6,000 miles

I currently own a 2005 Hyundai Sonata but decided to get a new car 2 years ago. Not knowing what I really wanted, I decided to lease a new 2016 Hyundai Elantra GT. Prior to the end of the lease in January 2019, I received a letter from the dealership stating that they will cover termination fees, excess wear and tear, disposition fees and over mileage fees. I leased a new 2018 Hyundai Kona in August of 2018. To my surprise, I recently received a bill from Hyundai Motor Finance Company for over $1,300. I have made countless phone calls to both the dealership and finance company to no avail. The dealer says they have done everything they can and do not understand the charges, the finance company says that they are just going by my contract and here I am stuck in the middle with a bill. I ended up paying the balance for loss of sale, a term I heard only after turning in the car. The Hyundai Motor Finance Company has even charged me $65.00 a hubcap for curb rash; $260 just for hubcaps! When speaking with one of their representatives, she explained that they want the car back in the same condition I got it in; In other words, they do not accept normal wear and tear. They are a third party just like any other bank and really dont have anything to do with what dealerships tells me. Unless you are willing to read all the fine print in your contract at the dealership, which is kind of hard because all they really want is to have you walk away with a car, take the contract home and read it before you sign for after it has your signature, you are legally bound to its terms. Dont expect the dealership to explain to you important terms like loss of sale; the difference you are responsible for if the car is not sold at auction for a price that covers the remainder of the lease balance. Call the Lease End department before you turn in the car and arrange for a pre-inspection so you can fix everything at a fraction of the cost. I could have replaced all four hubcaps for less than $100. I now purchased the excess wear and tear insurance for the new vehicle; lets see how that goes?

I bought my 2013 Hyundai Elantra GT based on the reputation, look of the car and the estimated mileage. I had previously owned an all wheel drive car - the handling of which was fabulous but was unhappy with the mileage (20 city/25 highway). The Elantras estimated 27/37 mpg was worth giving up excellent handling. Initially my mileage was 23/28 with the Hyundai and so I waited a few months thinking the car needed to be broken in. Now, a year later, I am still only getting approximately 24mpg in the city and 29mpg on the highway. I complained to the service department in September and they agreed to test the mileage.Heres what happened at the test: I topped off the tank 1/4 mile from the dealer and delivered a filled-to-capacity tank. They then drove the car 40 miles and then refilled the tank with 1.089 gallons determining that my car gets 36.73 miles per gallon. Knowing that was impossible, I drove immediately to the same filling station and put an additional .615 gallons in the tank, topping it off. Obviously, their idea of topping it off and mine were very different. With the additional .615 gallons, the mileage would have been determined correctly at 23.52 which was just about what I have been getting. When I called and asked them about it, they couldnt understand my point and stood by their test. I contacted Hyundai Consumer Affairs who spoke to the dealership and determined that there was no more they could do at that point unless I wanted pay for a test at another dealership. I was unwilling to do that if the first test had already proven to MY satisfaction that the mileage I had been getting all along was all I was going to get and another dealer, when contacted, said they would just take the mileage reading from the cars gauge to determine mpg. The gauge always shows 2-3 mpg better than what I actually get and is still nowhere need their estimated 27/37. I knew Hyundai had been fined for overestimating mpg in the past and in fact have a program of reimbursement because so many people have complained about the misrepresentation of mpg so I actually thought that meant I could trust their estimated mpg because they would not want to be found lacking in that area again. However, that is clearly not the case. At this point I feel I have no recourse except to register my complaint and hope something can be done to my satisfaction.

I am an owner of a Fluidic Verna CRDI. I delivered it from SS Hyundai, Mavelikkara two months before. After one month, my a/c pipe got bent and holed resulting on the complete gas drain out. Even after at the time of service, the service center was not ready to replace the a/c pipe. They were asking Rs7000/- for replacement. Also, extreme black smoke is coming from the exhaust itself. I went in to take my 2011 Hyundai Sonata in for my lifetime warranty oil change at 7,500 miles. When I picked my car up, Thompson Hyundai charged me $25.96. They said they rotated my tires, which had to be done in order to keep receiving the warranty and the oil change was free.I feel as though they charged me for the oil change. I am very unsatisfied with Hyundai. I feel that every time I take it in for an oil change, they are going to charge me for something else due to the customer having to follow, at a minimum, the factory maintenance guide in order to receive my warranty.I own two Lincoln vehicles that get free lifetime oil changes. When I take these cars in, they change the oil, rotate the tires, and wash the car; all for free. I understand when the car starts getting older and the mileage starts increasing that they are going to be charging me for certain maintenance services. But I feel as though they are ripping people off and they are not giving free oil changes as they said they were. I contacted three people at Hyundai about this issue and they keep telling me that this is their policy.

Two weeks ago we were driving and all of a sudden the engine shut off, no warning lights were on at all at the time this happened. We had Hyundai Roadside assistance tow the vehicle, (waited 2 hours for them) to the closest Hyundai dealer. The next day the dealer called and said the engine was shot, and they had to take it apart to send pictures to the corporate office. 5 days later they called and said Hyundai denied the warranty for Lack of Maintenance. The car only as 46,000 miles, and we have had oil changes. The dealer said they found sludge in the engine. Hyundai never asked for any receipts for oil changes, and just denied the claim. I then called the 800 customer service number, to be told that there was nothing they could do, all complaints were handled through the Better Business Bureau. I asked to speak with whomever denied the claim and they refused. So now I have a complaint into the BBB, but Hyundai has not responded. I dont understand how they advertise the best warranty and then deny all claims. I have researched the internet and found many people has had the same thing happen to them. How is this legal? Our vehicle is leased, so they know we have to fix it before the end of the lease. This seems like a scam, since we have to fix it. We also found at least 5 other Hyundai owners who reported the exact same symptoms as ours on the same make, all of which were denied by Hyundai. I will never buy another Hyundai, they are criminals running a huge scam. Dont believe the salesman when they tell you they have the best warranty. They dont honor it. Dealer told me there is nothing they can do to help. They said that they have seen sludge in the engine in other Hyundais and ours was not that out of the ordinary. However they claim their hands are tied, and all warranty decisions are made by corporate.

Moreover I wouldnt like to discuss about the security issue of this part as I was driving, the wheel went off, wouldnt even turn. Thank god that I was driving in an easy road with a low speed so I had chance to park my car within a safe zone. I even wouldnt like to imagine what would happen if this problem would occur on the highway. Hyundai Turkey is behaving premature to handle the case. In this century I am not able to understand why the required part can not be delivered within 30 days while there are people touring around the world with bicycles or on foot less than 30 days. As a result of all, I dont have any other chances but to go to legal court to claim my rights and never ever touch anything called Hyundai.

I will start with I love my car, it’s a beautiful blue, fits my family well and it is a delight to drive, when it worked, but I am saddened by how my newer vehicle had a catastrophic failure with all warnings and bells that are supposed to come in play, not work and leave my young child and I sit on the side of the road on a hot day, and then get the run around between corporate and the dealership. I am an essential worker and I must get to work and get my child to and from care daily. I am being told my car is listed as a rental car, um, we bought this car from a dealer for our family car. I work at an accounting firm, this car is not a rental. It gets my little family to and from point A to point B, so someone needs to correct this paperwork error which we have been asking for. Second, I am being told that my vehicle’s warranty doesn’t move to the second owner yet. On our purchase paperwork it states in 1 place that we have the factory warranty with the purchase and in a second place it states in very large font, WARRANTY INCLUDED, the dealer will pay 100% of the labor and 100% of the parts for the balance of the factory warranty of 10 years or 100k miles. We had the vehicle towed to the dealer per what the engineer at corporate advised my husband to do. It has been a week and we are getting the run around on if anything will be fixed and if we can even get a loaner car. We work overlapping times on the other sides of the county and cannot possibly share a vehicle. Unable to find rides every day, one of us had to miss multiple days of work dealing with this. My car is a 4 year old Hyundai Tucson that is equipped to warn you if you have low tire pressure, a door is ajar, oil is low and so on and so on. Somehow, no warning at all, and very on time oil changes, my car made an odd noise going up a hill, and then it died. The engine seized. How can something like that happen on a 4 year old car, less than 100k miles and none of its warnings throwing red flags and there wasn’t any codes either. Did I mention my husband is a mechanic. This is not normal and I don’t understand why we are getting the run around between the dealer and corporate. A loaner car should have been approved immediately along with the warranty work. I want to be able to continue enjoying my car that I’m still paying for. :(

I purchased/financed a 2016 Tucson Limited AWD in November 2015. In August 2016, I started experiencing issues with my transmission. Whenever I am in traffic, my car will buck and feels like its going to stall and sometimes barely accelerates. When Im stopped at a stop sign or traffic light and go to take off, my car barely accelerates. There are times where Im barely going 5 mph and the RPMs are high and then all of a sudden will start bucking and then go into gear. Ive had 3 almost near accidents because of this. When Hyundai came out with the DCT recall in October 2016, I brought my car to the dealership for service on the transmission recall. I continued to have the same issue, but it recently got much much worse. I brought my car back to the dealership on 4/1/2017 for the same issue. They performed the same exact recall again. As I was driving to work on Tuesday, 4/4/2017 my car started doing the same exact thing. I called the dealership right away and dropped off my car the next day. I picked up my car on Thursday, 4/6/2017 and drove it to work today, Friday, 4/7/2017 and I was experiencing the same EXACT thing. I drive almost 80 miles a day to and from work, always in traffic and Im terrified to be stuck in traffic, or to sit at a light/stop sign because Im afraid Im going to get in to an accident because of this. I called the dealership again today to let them know that Im still experiencing this and the service adviser left me a message saying that theres not much more he can do other than to keep performing the update on the DCT. That update was performed 3 times now and we havent gotten anywhere. Im terrified to drive around with my infant in this car let alone myself. Ive reached out to corporate and filed a case with them. The dealership also lied about the disposition fee, accepted to cut a check for it, then changed their mind. I have tried numerous times to get a hold of somebody from Hyundai and Hyundai Consumer Affairs, but they were powerless. They could not help me and they were unable to reach their own reselling dealership. Had a horrible experience so far and this will make me choose a different company for my next car(s). I purchased a 2013 Sonata in October of 2013 and could not have been happier with the car the first 18 months of ownership. However, in June of 2015, my cars hybrid alert came on when I put the car in park and the car locked up and would not turn back on again. I had to have it towed to Sacramento Hyundai where they kept it for the day, then gave it back saying nothing was wrong with it. Two days later it did this again and again, would not turn on. I had it towed to Roseville Hyundai because this was where the hybrid specialist worked. In the end, I ended up bringing my car to Roseville Hyundai (about 40 minutes from my house) a total of 4 times. Each time they fixed something on the car but the car was never actually fixed and would break down again 1-2 days after I got it back.During this whole time wasting process I was always put in awful stock rental cars after having to wait at numerous car rental shops after I was told by the dealership that there would be a rental waiting for me (there never was). I have had my car sitting at the dealership, untouched for over a week with no contact by the dealer while they decided (or corporate decided) what they wanted to do next. I was told time and time again that this was a one in a million occurrence, that these things NEVER happen with new Sonatas. After doing my own research on other new Hyundai owners experiences, I beg to differ. It seems like these things happen quite often with the newer Hyundai vehicles. Hyundai Motors eventually decided to stop allowing the dealership to spend any more money trying to fix my car (the dealership was not allowed to swap in a new transmission or engine). So they ended up just turning off the alerts - they didnt tell me they did this but it is quite obvious this is what happened since the car is running the exact same, power and acceleration issues, just no more hybrid alerts. Kinda suspicious. So once I got the car back this final time I began dealing with corporate which has been the worst experience I could have ever imagined. I talked to a live person probably a total of about 4-5 minutes throughout the whole lemon law process that began at the end of August.Leaving a message with Hyundai would result in a call back in 5-7 days. It took the representative over a week just to ASK the dealership for my repair records. And then a couple more weeks before she sent everything in to corporate while I was calling her constantly trying to get updates on the whole process, only to be ignored.. They have a certain number of days that they legally need to respond to lemon law cases and they definitely push this to the very last day. I figured driving a dangerous car that was now having issues getting onto freeways and accelerating from traffic lights would get them to respond to my concerns quicker, but they could have cared less. Once I finally received a letter. I was offered a buyback, not a replacement since this is not required by law.Hyundai only does exactly what is required of them by law (quite often they dont even go this far I have heard) so that they are able to pay as little as possible for the broken car that they sold you. This awful experience that I have been going through should require some sort of human response from the company instead of just 1 actual semi-informative voicemail from the representative (just saying that they would not be giving me a replacement vehicle) and ONE letter from corporate.This letter with the buyback deal had no actual numbers. It just stated that I would be charged some mileage fee for each mile I drove the car (that I had to research myself to figure out since no one from Hyundai actually talked to me). That they would not be reimbursing me for any money that I put into the car... So too bad you loved this car and did everything you could to keep it running properly and looking beautiful... And that I would be charged for any damage to the car. Then they asked me to sign and send it back to complete the process. How do I know what they consider damage and how much theyll charge for it? On top of that, all the extra money I put into the car would be ignored - tinted windows, 4 brand new tires I purchased just a week before all this went down, the $400 maintenance at 35K that Hyundai forces you to do so this warranty can be upheld, etc. On a more personal note Hyundai could care less about the time, energy, and work time lost in this whole process to drive the broken car back and forth to Roseville (when it was driveable) and all the time spent at rental car businesses... The mileage penalty being forced on me causes the $350/month payment to basically go towards borrowing this car for 2 years when I had wrongly assumed that I was in the process of purchasing the car and that my money was going somewhere, and now I am left with nothing. The buyback that Hyundai offered would not even cover my down payment I had made on the car, let alone the monthly payments for the past 2 years. In the end, I would love for this company to just fix my car or give me a car that actually works. My family and I have owned Hyundais for years and have loved the cars and always said nothing but good things about them.But this is our first new Hyundai and we have never had to deal with the actual company until I unfortunately purchased a lemon. The Hyundai corporation is horrid to deal with and does not care about the satisfaction of its loyal customers. I should have researched the reputation of this company before purchasing the car but naively I had faith in Americas Best Warranty to take care of me if anything should go wrong. I love my Hyundai Tucson. The interior is as nice as a luxury car interior (comparing to a Lexus and Subaru of comparable size). It is easy to get into and out of but has more ground clearance than a sedan. It is easy to handle in most driving conditions. It sits on an Elantra chassis so in tight curves or with wind, I recommend slowing down. It is Hyundais middle sized SUV, the Kona is smaller and the Santa Fe larger and I believe there is a new SUV that is even larger. This is the perfect size for a single person or a couple, it is probably to small for school age kids in the back. The sound system is very good and the limited comes with heated seats and other nice options.

The first week I had it I noticed when it was in the sun the back bumper and lift gate had these 3D swirls in the Black Noir Pearl paint. The dealership had the car redone with Zurche but still had the same issue. I took it back to the dealer and they had someone buff the entire car. This made the situation worse as the marks were still in the paint and he did a poor job detailing the car. I took the car home and spent 3 hours detailing the car myself to fix the issue from the detailer. Regardless to say the marks are still there. My wife noticed today that I have a big scratch under the spoiler. The dealership was going to allow me to pick another car, but they did not have any and it had to be today. So to make a long story short I wish they would just take the car from me like I never bought it. I took my 2011 Hyundai Sonata into the Hyundai dealer service center with a problem on my auxiliary plug. I used a 3.5 mm auxiliary cable to connect my iPod to the car. After a couple of months, the cable had bad connection. Due to that problem, I bought a new auxiliary cable but the cable wasnt the problem. The problem was the 3.5 mm jack that is on the car. I brought my car to the dealer but they said they couldnt do anything since I didnt use OEM Hyundai auxiliary cable even though they knew the problem. So I bought the OEM cable, but after few months it didnt work well. So I brought my car to the dealer and one of the staff brought three other staffs to check if the jack or the cable was defected; they all said there was no problem. Also, it is very obvious that their staff would say there is no problem. I am highly unsatisfied from this experience. I cannot enjoy my music in my brand new Hyundai Sonata. I should have my audio jack replaced with a new part and refund on the cable.

I drove about 2k miles when I started experiencing high noises, something like buzzing sound that was getting louder with accelerating. When first did the drive test, I was impressed how easy the car does drive, well it got worse when I started using it. Very unstable on highway, you can feel any crack on the surface you drive on, pretty loud inside.But getting to my issue, first I took it to check the tires, I was advised that it might be wheels bearing. Then took it to service, they have very odd hours and there is always empty there. They will not take you on Saturday for diagnostic either, so they did check my car and happened to be that the car transmission failed. Wow right after 2k, very unusual, anyways they got me loaner from Hertz and promised to get me the car in 3 days. I will be posting and blogging about this more. I feel I got lemon and more issues are going to happen. Very unsatisfied customer.

My car has been blowing headlights- having electrical issues (my auto windows go back down when you roll them up, my rear windshield wipers go off whenever they want, my break light seems to go on and off at random. I have reached out because as a company they should only want the best products out there. I was told that “because my car is over 3 years old. There is nothing they can do for me. To bring it to a dealer and “see what I can get” for it. I owe more than it’s worth because one thing they don’t tell you when you buy a Hyundai is they depreciate way faster than you can make payments to survive. DO NOT BUY A HYUNDAI.

My insurance call them so many times and send them the information about the loss four times and HMF still saying every time when I call then that they not received anything. I told them I want to speak with a supervisor and they say that they do not have a supervisor available and they just hang up on me so many times. This company is a joke and have very bad customer service especially in the recovery or claim department. Today is Jun 24, 2014 and they still not giving the selling amount to my insurance. When I contacted them, their salesman Frank quoted a figure which was as per our budget, so we decided to visit them. Antony was the salesman who attended us. I must say he was a good salesman. But when it came to quoting the final figures, he again and again went to his manager Pete **. The figures which they quoted were much higher than what they had initially quoted and we were surprised to hear them. I dont know why they called us to waste our time when we had clearly told them our budget in the beginning. Finally, Pete ** called me inside his cabin (Antony asked my wife to stay out). Pete was such a rude sales manager. I really pity people who hired him. He cracked some jokes, which were personal, and I didnt like them at all. I dont know how he could speak in such a manner to his customers. Very rude, ill-mannered and a guy with attitude problem. He doesnt deserve to be a manager at all. His customer handling is so poor that I dont know how he is running this dealership. In my life, I have never met such an ill-mannered sales manager! There was another salesman in Petes cabin, who was laughing on all this. I felt so insulted. These people are so unprofessional. Pete didnt even offer me a seat to sit. He was sitting in front of me as if he was my boss. I think a roadside vendor has better sales/customer handling skills than Pete.When I showed my displeasure on all this, Pete tried to make the deal. How could he even think I will ever do business with him or recommend his dealership to anyone? This guy is so insensitive about his customers. I am writing this because I am not very impressed with the service that I am receiving from the company. Let me start by telling you what happened. A few days ago I was driving down the hwy and my car just stalled. All the lights went on on the dash and the RPMs went to zero. I was lucky that it wasnt a busy hwy and was able to coast and pull over safely along the side of the snowplowed road. I got my car towed to the dealership and they are trying to say that it might be my fault and that I will be responsible for the cost! Its been there 3 days already and They have not told me whats going on. I am without a vehicle and am stressed out waiting to see how much it will cost me for repairs. I do not believe that I should pay for this because I had no warning light come on to tell me that the oil was low or if I had an engine problem. I believe that it is a mechanical problem because there certainly is an alert that appears when the car is low on windshield washer fluid and the same should be for the oil level!! I just want Hyundai to come clean and take responsibility for the engine malfunction!! And to have better customer service by keeping their customers informed!!I will let you all know the outcome.

The radio has no bluetooth or touchscreen, it would be ideal if it had more functions like front and back camera or a GPS system and a android operating system. But other than that, the car has not had any problems and is very economic in gasoline plus it is very responsive and smooth to drive in.

When the second oil change came around, they explained that in order to comply with warranty conditions, I needed to rotate the tires (a charge of about 85.00 with the oil change). No problem, I said. When I get the car back, I notice the tires were never rotated and I was charged. My understanding as they explained it to me is that if the services were not completed, it would void the warranty. They claim I was given a couple of free oil changes. Although they also said the tires would be rotated too, so I am really not so sure what I got. During one of the alleged free oil changes, I was told there was a software update. Again, I said, No problem, and they claim to have completed it.Anyway, so in August, I was 50+ miles from home, stopped at a car wash, grabbed a bite to eat and to my surprise, when I came out of the restaurant to start the car, the check engine light comes on. I had no acceleration whatsoever. Using their roadside assistance, I was towed from Windsor, CT to Branford Hyundai. It was Sunday, so the service department was closed. Service called me the following day to inform me that the main wiring harness was supposed to have been replaced when the software update was done. This tow cost me $130.00 since the roadside assistance only towed up to 20 miles.They kept the car for 2-3 days and finally called me and stated that the car was ready and all set. So, I picked up the car and a month a half later, guess what happens? Once again, I am in Windsor driving down the highway in the pouring rain and out of nowhere, the check engine light comes on again and the acceleration just stops. I have a car behind me that almost plows into me as a result. I coast off the next exit to a service station and again call for a tow truck. I used roadside assistance from another service that I have because it was a little cheaper and the second tow cost me $92.00.I towed it again to Branford Hyundai, it was Sunday again, so they were not open. I had to Uber to work the next day and waited all day for the service department to call me. They finally did at the very end of the day, after I called them a couple of times. I called them before I had to leave work, and they said they had not looked at it yet. When I got home, they called and said my car was all set. I got there, and the serviceman states, the problem was the knock sensor, and it should have been replaced when the wiring harness was replaced, he then stated, and I quote that this has been happening a lot and it was driving them crazy. We have been dealing with a lot of them and I should have replaced the knock sensor the last time you were here, sometimes we dont need to replace them though.I was told to send in both towing bills and receipts to corporate and I would be reimbursed for both towing bills. Well, when I did, I got an email suggesting that I sign a statement releasing them from liability for any further repairs related to the recall, and this would be the only way I would get reimbursed for the second tow only. I find their business practice unprofessional and they do not stand behind the products they sell. I refused to sign any documents, they said they would not reimburse anything if this was not signed. Very poor business practice.As a result of their carelessness, I am out $222.00 and am working harder than ever to get out of the car I am in, the 2018 Hyundai Sonata is NOT safe to drive. I am making sure that I let everyone I know (and that is a lot of people) not to buy from Hyundai or Kia (since they are the same manufacturer), and if they already did, to investigate whether the services they are completing are actually being done. I no longer have any ounce of trust in either of them and question their integrity. They need to be investigated by some authorities regarding their business practices since there are so many of their cars on the road. Based on the comments of the serviceman at Branford Hyundai, there seems to be a lot of them. If you happen to be behind one on the road BE CAUTious! The car may just lose power and cause a serious accident.

My car is now a year and almost 5 months old and 6 days ago my engine began revving and I immediately removed myself and car from the road. Once I parked, my car started releasing all its transmission fluid. I had no warnings, no indications of anything wrong at all. They towed the car to the dealership and I was given a rental car that I was told was going to be covered because since the car is so new. Needless to say, I received a phone call later that day telling me that this fix wont be covered under my warranty because its been deemed an impact crack in my transmission and its an incidental. My car is a year old and theyre trying to tell me that Ive caused a crack in my own transmission... Im sorry that just doesnt happen. I live on Long Island which is basically all highways, no rough terrain whatsoever. A transmission is a tough piece of machinery, they just dont crack and Im telling you I did absolutely nothing wrong. I use this car for my commute to work and pleasure on weekends. Mind you also, before I even drove it off the lot upon purchase back in Jan. 2015, I had the dealer repair not one but two dents as well as multiple scratches on the car. I didnt know I had to bring a mechanic with me to purchase a new car from a Hyundai Dealer... Clearly the conditions in which this car were kept were nothing close to ideal. How can they honestly and with good faith point the finger at me and tell me that a car thats a year old will not be covered under warranty? AMERICAS BEST WARRANTY, that is. Go scratch, Hyundai.Ive reached out to Hyundai Motor America via Email, Mail, Fax and Phone. Ive opened a case and the case manager I spoke with was BEYOND useless. Im currently awaiting an adjuster from my insurance company to go look at my car and theyre going to fight on my behalf as well. Additionally, now the rental car they ever so kindly set me up with, theyre telling me I must pay for. That car got returned after day 5 and now I have a hefty bill for a rental on top of all of this now. To say Im beyond infuriated is an understatement. The customer service and lack of consideration Ive been receiving from Hyundai is atrocious. Shame on you, Hyundai. Once this is said and done I will NOT be a returning consumer of anything Hyundai related and Ill make sure everyone else knows what JUNK this company truly produces.

I have owned three Hyundai cars, all have been new cars under warranty. I have only had to taken them in for mechanical issues less than ten times. I have never been told by a Hyundai service department that if they find that the problem is not a warranty issue, like a rat chewing through a wire, or hitting a curb and knocking something loose, that I will be responsible for paying over $100 for them taking time to look at my car, whether they fix the issue or not. I can understand the cost of fixing the issue, but not the cost of just looking at it. I can understand if I was bring in a 2001 Toyota. But I am bringing in a Hyundai to a Hyundai dealership while under warranty. It is implied that while under warranty the dealership for that brand of car will check your car when it has mechanical issues for free, and if it isnt a warranty issue, charge you for the repairs. I mean they sure do talk up how good having a warranty is when they talk you into buying that 10 year 100,00 mile extended bumper to bumper warranty, but if you want to get it looked at, you better bring $200, just in case the problem isnt under warranty. Because whether they fix it or not you’re paying. This was my experience at North Freeway Hyundai in Houston TX. The service consultant Bruce ** didnt even test drive my car to see if he felt what I was feeling, until he first told me that just to look at my car, I basically need to have the money to pay just in case it isnt a warranty issue.

They keep telling me it is in the mail. They have great cars/SUVs, the worst service ever! I have been lied to every time I call. They said this time the title will arrive on Wed. 12/5/12. I took it in to get the engine fixed and they denied my request. They stated that based on what they saw, I didnt maintain the vehicle.Not once did they ask for my service records! (I had my car serviced more than the recommended amount...) I come to find out theres a class-action lawsuit for this very issue. They refuse to honor their warranty EVEN AFTER I provided proof of maintenance! This car was not even 2 years old yet. How frustrating. Be sure and avoid these guys. Theyre crooked. Never giving them another cent. Ill go back to Toyota.

I bought a 2011 Hyundai Tucson about a year ago and was promised bells and whistles (which I knew in part werent true), but the one that appeared real was free maintenance for 3 years. To a single mom on a budget, that sounded spectacular. I even watched as the dealer and loan officer wrote down this promise multiple times, but when it came to signing my contract I did not double check to see if my free maintenance for 3 years promise had been recorded.When I called to make my regular service appointments, everything went smoothly at first. After about the third appointment, service fees started appearing and suddenly I was told by the service department that Hyundai never gives 100% free maintenance. Apparently, what was meant by my too good to be true deal was that free maintenance only means free oil changes and that is it. Everything else will cost you. Driving my Tucson is just fine, but being duped puts a sour taste in my mouth every time I step into my car. Im on the fence about buying from Hyundai again. No matter how much one tries not to get screwed over by dealers, it seems they always find another way to get you.

Ive tried multiple times to use the Blue Link Guidance system on my 2015 Sonata, but 95% of the time it fails to give the correct address back, or it cant even find it. It will sit there saying something like connecting / searching and find nothing. Then it reverts back to say a destination. My wife says give it up, it never works and before I can even get it to the say a destination she has pulled it up on her cell phone with Google voice commands and Google maps. Ive sent several complaints to Hyundai, and nothing. Very disappointing. Unless something changes and soon I wouldnt suggest purchasing it.

On October 15th my vehicle turned off while driving, I had the vehicle towed to Sport Hyundai in Egg Harbor Township, service guys there are great, anyway the vehicles engine I was told needed to be replaced, I was sent to Enterprise car rental office in Pleasantville NJ then I found out that Hyundai is only paying $25 towards my rental and I had to pay $18 difference a day, I just feel that if the vehicles engine was defective or recalled I should not be paying for anything, so I sent an email to Hyundai explaining my situation. They said that unfortunately there is nothing that they can do. I was thinking of trading my car in before all this happened and get a new Hyundai but after this experience I wouldn’t do it and will encourage anyone I know not to invest in Hyundai at all.

In June 2011, I bought a Hyundai Elantra 3-year warranty. I was excited because it is just what I wanted. However, several problems started to occur. First, the indicator switch had to be replaced within the first 2 weeks. Second, after six months, we experienced screeching noises. I took it to a local dealer on various occasions. They replaced the break calliper and brake pads etc. but the noise still persisted. My husband said it was a release bearing but they did not agree. I took it to Johannesburg and after ten days, they agreed that it was the release bearing, which they replaced just before the warranty expired. This process took over a year. Third problem was the indicator switch was faulty again and it had to be replaced again. After the warranty expired, it had a knock in the engine, which they diagnosed as a valve lifter. We paid over R4,000 to have these replaced. The day we collected the car from the garage, there was an explosion, during which, 6 cars were burnt out, fortunately, mine was in the wash bay. There still was a noise in the engine. Two weeks later, when they had a temporary workshop, they gave me a quote for a further R15,000 for replacement of Chain Guide A & B, Timing Chain, Chain Tensioner, Oil Pump etc. The even quoted for replacement of boot latch (very noisy boot) and still have to replace indicator switch.I am so disappointed. Everyone who I have been in contact with regarding the car has admitted that this should not be happening to a car that (at that stage) only had 60000 km on the clock, now R72750. None of the Elantra cars in Kimberley have similar problems. I spoke to a few of the owners personally. All I am asking for is a normal sounding car. I am embarrassed when people ask me why the car is so noisy, even my lady friends who do not have a clue anything about cars, are concerned.I am now waiting for them to repair the car and the parts have been ordered. They cannot carry out the repairs, as they are waiting for a part, which was shipped to SA and is taking forever. It was ordered weeks ago and their words are that it is taking so long because they have never needed to order a part of this nature before. My husband is a pensioner and does not drive like a maniac. He is a very careful driver.I am not a difficult person but I am so disillusioned. I love the Hyundai product and bought an Atos for my daughter years ago. She loves her car and never has any problems. To me, the Elantra we bought was a dud. The outside looks good but it is bad on the inside. I could write a book but am only focusing on the most important. We do not have the funds to buy a new car and we bought the car for R160,000 and the book value is now only R71,000. I implore you to attend to this complaint and not just ignore it. I am sure that if you were in my place you would feel the same. I have spoken to consumer services on numerous occasions but to no avail.

Hyundai definitely needs to recall this vehicle because my car has been back and forth in the shop due to the mechanics solely depending on computer codes to find whats wrong. Do it the old way. Actually look at the components and parts of the car. It should not take almost 3 weeks to figure out the grounding wires were bad.

We actually purchased it for our college students, however, my husband and I liked it so much that, we gave them one of our other cars to drive instead, and kept the Sonata for ourselves. We have told many people how much we liked the value of the Sonata, in price, appearance, reliability and gas consumption. Because we liked it so much, we decided on another Hyundai, and bought a beautiful 2014 black Hyundai Genesis. We have honestly been considering an additional purchase of another Hyundai Sonata for our youngest son. However, our glowing opinion has been cut short. At 98,000 miles, the Sonata began making funny knocking sounds. We took it into our trusted mechanic, and he tested everything, including codes and found nothing. Nor did the knocking continue while he was testing. So I could not recreate the issue.We went on our merry way, oblivious to the impending disaster. At 106,000 miles, the Sonata began stalling out, with the knocking sound returning. I brought it to my husbands attention and by the next morning, when we went to take it to the mechanic, the car would not make it. The engine kept stalling. We took it to the mechanic and he did his diagnostics and announced the engine was shot and he could either replace or we could have it towed to Hyundai dealership to see what they could do with it, possibly offer some assistance. We had it towed to the dealership, and they announced that they would have to submit a request to Hyundai dealership - to see what could be done about a new engine.At first, the dealership said the manufacturer would do nothing to help. We went back and forth, in the hopes that they would re-consider (knowing that we were loyal Hyundai customers). Hyundai responded that if the dealership installed a used-30K mile engine, then they would not offer any discounts or warranties and that would cost us $7500. However, if they were to install a rebuilt from scratch engine, then they would install for $4500. We are heartbroken. Our Hyundai is due to be paid off in November, and now we are faced with a $4500 out of pocket expense and still waiting to hear if there is a warranty for the repair.My husband is meticulous with his cars. We have four cars - A Toyota Sequoia, Nissan Armada, a Hyundai Sonata and a Hyundai Genesis. We had hoped to add a 5th - (another Sonata for our son), but that will not be happening now. Its dishonest to not reveal this catastrophic failure on the part of Hyundai engineering. And we actually selected the Genesis over the Infiniti and Audi - comparable models. I understand there are two class action lawsuits re: the seizing of the 2011 Hyundai Sonata and other new models. If a contemporary car cannot beat the 100,000 mile test, then you should spend your money on another company, like Toyota, that will go the distance. Both our Armada and Toyotas have over 150,000 miles and still going strong and running beautifully. Good luck to anyone considering a Hyundai purchase, Im sorry to report...

My experience with Hyundai has been one I wouldnt have expected from a reputable company. I was told I couldnt get any assistance with a car I purchased from them in April 2017. Three months after purchasing the car it was in the shop for a check engine issue. I took the car back to see why it was on when I had just purchased the vehicle. Since then my car has been in the shop a total of 8 times to date. I will continue to expose the misrepresentation Hyundai provides to the public on a daily basis with their commercials and other advertisement. As a consumer we all deserve to have the products we pay for to be operable and in good condition. Nelson a representative of Hyundai informed me I would not have any further resolution if I spoke with a manager because they would only listen to him in regards to my complaint directly. I feel every time someone drives a Hyundai vehicle their lives are in jeopardy due to the negligence on production. My car has been in the shop now for over two months to replace an engine that has been replaced for the second time in a year. I can assure you I will never recommend Hyundai products again to anyone. Do not purchase any Hyundai vehicles no matter what they offer you!!!

It runs very easily in traffic and has plenty of capability when given a clear road to play on. I have had no significant complaints in the 42,000 miles I have driven it and Hyundai have covered every little issue that I have had. Warranty and service are great but gas consumption isnt!

This vehicle has went to the shop for repairs from July to Today, September 16 for transmission problems. After replacing the transmission on August 13th, I had to tow it to dealer because I broke down on Sunday, September 14, 2014. This was the 4th visit to the dealer since the initial complaint in July. Wow to my surprise I was told at Hyundai Plaza Mall Service that it was the driving of the vehicle that made the axle jump out of the transmission. I or someone was throwing the vehicle in park, reverse without coming to a stop. I cant figure out if that was my driving behavior. Why did not this occur on the other cars I had bought from there? I give their service a thumbs down and I have definitely lost all trust in the Hyundai brand.

Non- uniform & Excessive Tire Wear. There is a documented history of this problem in 2011 & 2012 Sonatas. In to the shop after 2000 miles for slight steering problem - Results - The Dealer checked out the car and determined that it was not one included in the recall so there is nothing wrong with my car. Back to the shop at 10,000 miles. Left front and right rear tire wearing and cupping on the inside. Result - told to rotate tires. Tires had been rotated every 5000 miles. At 20,000 miles the tires were making so much noise it sound like I was running big off road tires on pavement. I called Hyundai customer service and got a service number to have the car checked out. They put the car on the rack and said Everything is in spec. and wear is consistent with the mileage. I showed the service manager the tread depth readings I had taken on each tire; inside, center and outside. He just dismissed me.At 27,000 miles I couldnt stand the noise so I bought new tires (not from the dealer) from Pep Boys. They had an old time alignment guy that adjusted the camber on the rear wheel but there was no provision for adjusting the front wheels. I also did not rotate the tires again. The rear wheel adjustment did help but it was very obvious the front was still wearing badly. At 70,000 miles I bought another set of tires because of the noise. I kept the old tires, took pictures of all of them and went back to the dealer. He had his people look at them and they all stated the tires had uneven wear and cupping. I am now pursuing getting the car fixed (Good Luck). I do have a case number, but I will have a hard time getting the service manager to move ahead. I have also filed with the BBB but they said I have too many miles on the car. My next best recourse at this point is to keep the pressure on customer service. There is a documented history of this problem in 2011 and 2012 Sonatas. Please let me know if you have any experience with problem and with Hyundai.

Now, about the tire problem, the tires they provided me with the car were of zero quality. Just after 3 months, the tires got punctured not just one or two times. In fact, all tires were getting punctured twice or thrice a week. I lodged several complaints but there was no action taken by the dealer. Just for show cause, they issued me a fake inspection report.

There is damage to the engine and excessive sludge build up which has also damage parts around the engine. I was told that the work is not covered under warranty because it is due to lack of maintenance. I was able to produce receipts that proved I get scheduled oil changes on my car and passed on this information to the dealership. I then called Hyundai North America and filed a complaint and requested to have this work covered under the warranty since it happened from no fault of my own. It has now been two weeks and a Hyundai North America regional manager has failed to reach out to me and contact me in regards to this. I call and email and still have no answers as to what is going on with my car. I have just received a phone call from the dealership that they received an email and that Hyundai will not cover the engine damage because they still find it happened due to lack of maintenance. Nobody from Hyundai North America has reached out to me to discuss these findings. This is the second Hyundai I purchased because I was sold on Americas Best Warranty. This could not be less accurate. The customer service has been below par and the fact that they will not stand behind the warranty and fix what is broken is worse. I will never purchase a Hyundai vehicle again and I ask you to take my experience into consideration before you do. I understand that there is no guarantee that nothing will last forever and I accept that, I can deal with that. The customer service from Hyundai is what is completely dissatisfying and unacceptable.

On two occasions - 3 days apart - while braking to come to a stop, my 2008 Azera accelerated rapidly and only stopped when the car hit a pole and a curb. Damages were about $8,000. Only because of good luck, there was no personal injury. Police insisted that the car be checked by a registered mechanic. We returned to the dealer who replaced a faulty throttle position sensor - under warranty. Hyundai later claimed faulty TPS was not responsible for the uncontrolled acceleration. No other explanation was offered.

The local dealer through the warranty department refused to address the problem indicating that I will have to pay in order to have the problem solved. I am concerned since I believe that problem should be the last to occur in a vehicle since if one is not familiar with vehicles it can cause the engine to overheat and engine damage. I have had vehicles in the past. This is my first Hyundai and I never had such problems with them.

I have had issues with the transmission not shifting properly when pressing on the accelerator. I have taken it back to the dealership several times and am always told that it is their new transmission and is normal. Finally, they said they had a reset they could do for it, this seemed to help for about a week. After this things got worse, it not only went back to the chugging with the transmission but also lost power when accelerating from a stopped position (like turning in front of oncoming traffic). I would pump the accelerator for it to finally go. I filed a claim with Hyundai, finally got a call from them and was told to take to dealership, of course they found nothing wrong, everything is working to “their” standard, and that it’s just their new transmissions. I said I had another vehicle (Not Hyundai) that has this type of transmission and it doesn’t do this, she said, Well. This is Hyundai Transmission. I am beyond Frustrated and Disappointed with Hyundai products and Customer Service! I will never buy Hyundai and will and have recommend everyone to NOT buy Hyundai!!!

Two months have passed, and I still have not received my tires. I have called them numerous times, spoke with the salesman, Brandon, the manager, David, and I recently called Michael **, the customer satisfaction rep. They have not returned my call yet, and I am still waiting for my tires. My tires have no threading, that is why he offered the two tires. It is now November 2011.

Purchased a 2014 Hyundai Equus with 71 miles on odometer and Hyundai Motor America said I not entitled to 10 year/100,000 powertrain warranty as a second owner. Car purchased on Aug 1, 2015, and although manual provides for mandatory arbitration through Auto Line at BBB, I have been systematically denied an opportunity to argue my warranty rights. It has now been 11 months and despite countless calls to customer care office and a detailed letter to new CEO of Hyundai, he has not responded at all! Never! The manager at customer care, known only as Steve, said my case warranted an exception and he would send all my paperwork to legal dept. of Hyundai in California. Said in February, 2016 a decision would be prompt. After following up several times due to no response, Steve has settled upon a course of action to not speak to me or share legal departments evaluation. Nobody should buy a Hyundai and probably a Kia for reasons that an honest dispute will not even be considered and Hyundai refuses to authorize the Better Business Bureau to arbitrate a warranty matter it believes it has no jurisdiction over. The BBB representative said “Just ask Hyundai to approve.” and Susanne said she would not. And Dave Duchowski, the CEO refused to intercede or reply to my fully particularized letter dated March 10, 2016. My intention is to publish a series of editorials nationally and to pursue a criminal complaint with Brian Frosh, the Attorney General for Maryland.

So I ventured into a 48 mo lease back in Nov. 2011 on a 2012 Hyundai Elantra Limited. I got my vehicle from a well-known dealer down by the Philadelphia Auto Mall. The deal was fine, dealership was helpful and off I went in my new Elantra. The one small issue was with the color combination I had wanted but the dealer could not deliver on. So I settled on an available color combination and was happy nonetheless. Fast forward 3 1/2 years later and like a good loyal soldier I found myself back at the same dealership. This time I went in with a printout of the 2016 Elantra Limited I built on Hyundais online site. I was feeling confident I could finally get that color combination I had wanted back in Nov. 2011... NOPE!! The dealer searched around for my color combo and basically in so many words told me the closest location they could find my color combination was about 1,800 miles away in Oklahoma City. WHAT??? I figured I still and some time until my lease ended so I told them I was not in an immediate rush so they had time to get the vehicle (or one in that color combo) to Philadelphia. That suggestion was all but brushed off and I was basically given (once again!) the impression I would need to settle on a different color combination... I ended up in another vehicle that was NOT a Hyundai. My well maintained 2012 leased vehicle with 16,000 miles under the allowed mileage went back to the dealer and months later I receive a bill in the mail from Hyundai Finance totaling $850.20!! $380.00 for Excess Wear and Tear, $400.00 disposition fee and taxes totaling $70.20. As for the Excess Wear and Tear, did I mention my vehicle was well maintained? My carpets were NEVER even stepped on since the entire interior was lined with rubber flooring! There were no tears and/or burns to any seating surfaces. There were no dents and any scratches could be classified as your run of the mill light surface marks all finishes encounter at some point! With all that said, the biggest sticking point for me is that disposition fee. Or as I like to call it, a monetary gun to a consumers head to assure you NEVER leave their side. If Hyundai had such a wonderful product, the need to place a monetary gun to ones head to assure loyalty to the brand should not be necessary!!! Needless to say, I will NOT be a Hyundai customer again and my wife who is presently a Hyundai owner will not own a Hyundai in the future... at least not while I am breathing!! FINAL THOUGHT... Would you get into bed with Charles Manson? Venturing in to an auto lease with Hyundai can be eerily similar...

Selling dealership would not take the car back, only advised to take it to a service center. I did that 3 times to no avail. Problem is same. Opened case with Hyundai corporate, they denied request for buyback. Furthermore, they told service dept not to spend any more on fixing this. So there I sit with a horribly noisy new car and no resolution. This is not a normal road noise. Its so annoying I dont want to drive the car. Hyundai has failed me in so many ways, I would never buy another. I now have to either live with a lemon, or take a huge loss on trading it in.

I have owned a 2001 Hyundai Elantra for 3 years and have owned 3 Hyundais over the last 20 years. I have always been a loyal Hyundai owner, but I am now reconsidering that thought. Over the weekend, my car broke down when the control arm broke and left me right where I sat. After some research, I have discovered the part that broke was, at one time, under a recall. I called the Hyundai Customer Assistance Center yesterday, November 26, to inquire about the recall and was told that recall has expired. When I asked about the expiration date of the recall, I was told I would have to call my local dealership to find out when it expired. I couldnt understand why I would have to call the dealership when I was speaking to a case manager as he continually referred to himself as. I refused to call the dealership as someone from Hyundai had to tell the dealership when it expired. When I asked for a supervisor, I was told he was the case manager and his supervisor would tell me the same thing. I again asked for the supervisor and was told he is very busy. I was then put back on hold and had my husband go ahead and call the dealership about the recall and was told the recall was expired but he couldnt tell us when either. When the case manager came back to the phone, his story changed to my car didnt fall under the recall for the control arm issue. So, I still dont know if my car was part of the recall but the recall expired or my car wasnt part of the recall even though its the same problem that caused the recall to begin with. I didnt get anywhere with the case manager at the assistance center nor did I get to speak to a supervisor. I even left my name and number and was told he would return my call but I didnt hear back from him. At this point, my car is still where it broke down and so far, Hyundai has been zero help. I really dont want to put a lot of money into a car that I no longer have faith in the company that made it.

I called my boyfriend (a mechanic) and he came to where I was and drove the car home to see if he could figure out what was going on. The next day I took it to Hyundai of Muskogee. The car thankfully did repeat the stalling and braking by itself for the mechanic working on the car. However they could never get the car to pull a code as I was told. They had my car for 7 days. They told me it was my tires so they put 4 new tires on this car.A few months later the car did the same thing again... stalled and applied the brakes by itself... so again I put 4 new tires on the car. Both times this happened I was only driving down the road at about 35mph. The last straw was when the car again did this with my daughter driving and cause dont her to have a wreck. (I had tried to get the car in two weeks before this occurred and was told by Hyundai they couldnt get it in right now and they did not have a loaner car) I told them what was happening and left my # for them to please call asap when they got a car in. 2 weeks later I had not heard from them and the accident happened. Not trusting Hyundai of Muskogee at this point I drove it to Hyundai of Tulsa. I drove it there the very next day without calling or making an appointment and told the manager of automotive what had happened. They provided me a car and he was told he couldnt touch the car until an investigation was done on the car.6 MONTHS LATER I finally got an email telling me basically nothing was wrong with the car and they would not do anything about it!!! Im beyond furious! As far as I know they only pulled codes on the car and the codes were sent in. No one from the investigation team even test drove the car!!! I will never deal with this company again! Horrible customer service! After all I have been through and waiting for 6 months on my car they couldnt even spell my name right on the email I received! How unprofessional! I would never recommend this car nor this company. I have been investigating and there are 1000s of complaints on this car. The company is aware and last I read there are no recalls on this car.

The back of my vehicle was open because my husband was looking at the flat from a nail I had ran over (which by the way the vehicle worked great to alert me of the issue) and the gentleman on the phone expressed verbally his frustration for having an issue hearing me. He then proceeded to ask me why I had called since someone was already working on it (my husband). Then he hung up on me. Had he stayed on the line I could have explained that we couldnt find the key for the lug nuts. This was a terribly disappointing experience for the first time using this service.

In Aug of 2014, I spoke to Hyundai Motor Finance (the company I am having issues with, not the dealership) asking what I need to pay and how I need to pay to get my lease balance paid down so the dealership will buy my Sonata from me. The bank told me to just pay the X” amount of dollars needed through the website. I do that and the payment hit on Aug. 20th. I go to a dealership, and they tell me a payment was not shown on their end and they will not help me. I called the bank and they said the payment, should not have been processed like that and that they will re-apply it so it reflects at the dealership. Almost 1 month later it was re-applied, on Sept 18th 2014. I go to another dealership, someone met worked at this one, gave me the same exact answer. I call the bank again and once again I get another another answer. I have 3-wayed myself, the bank and several Hyundai Dealership reps (including management) and no answer was the same. The number at the bank wouldnt show up at the dealership. My payment would not show up at the dealerships. The bank reps told the dealership to just pay a certain amount, they would not send the dealership an official notarized invoice saying how much is owed. It was pretty much just ‘take our word for it’ type of deal. Basically another dealership told me they will not go by HMF word because they do not TRUST them and has had issues. How come the Hyundai bank and dealership not work together and have the same financing system is beyond me. The dealership told me to get a refund from the bank and give them the money and they will pay the difference that way. So from the end of September till this day, I have been waiting to get a refund. I have spoken to managers and reps and everyone has ** and have not helped me. I sent $8500 in August and still waiting to get some of it back. I spoke to 4 different managers and was told I would get a call back. No one has ever called me back. I ask them if they see the notes saying for a call back and it is all written there. Either the manager is on lunch or in a meeting. Right! In Oct, I was told a check would ship Oct 4th. I call back Nov 12th asking when it was shipped and they said Nov 5th and shipped to your current mailing address. I call back Nov 18th asking where this check is and they said it was shipped yesterday, Nov 17th.” Make it worse they shipped it to my old mailing address!! They apologized for not adding the mailing address. How do they make such a mistake when they ask you for your address at the beginning of each call? I speak to a manager right after that. She told me she would put a stop to the check and get a check over-nighted to me. Ashley the manager promised to call me back that day. Never did. I call back that evening and shes allegedly on Lunch!! Sure. Call back today Nov 19th and every single manager is in the meeting. Guess what, I was supposed to get a call back. NOTHING!! NO CALL BACKS AND NO REFUND!! Top it off, this car was supposed to be turned in Aug before my car insurance was due. I have had to pay for full coverage for 4 months for a car I am not driving.

I was told I needed to come back in because they made a mistake with the bank rate and the residual was too low. I was told my payment was going to go down 5 dollars and the residual was going to go up 2700. I was also told once I got to the dealer that I was entitled to a Platinum Bram Auto Protection plan for the length of my lease. When I asked why I was getting this I was told for the inconvenience and its just how the new numbers work out. After signing the NEW contract, I was called yet again 5 days later to come back to the dealer, that there was a mistake made again, and they did not take into consideration the 21M miles that I originally needed and had in the deal. When I went back the finance guy and the GM had me in the finance room and I was told they need to either raise my payment, or take away the miles and the protection plan. I said I already have a signed contract, plates, keys... Etc. for 2 weeks.He told me if I did not sign, I would not get a payment book and it would be like I have a stolen vehicle.I left the dealership in complete despair. I have never been strong armed and treated like this. I told him, he was threatening me and that I have a legal contract. He said, Go see your lawyer, that contract is void. He wants me to sign a different deal than the one I have and give back everything that they have in my contract. Upon impact I hit the steering wheel causing painful bruising to the chest, especially where the port is located. I had a dye test and they found a blood clot around the port. Here is the issue: About a week ago, I came out to the Touring and noticed that the passenger side front bumper cover was just hanging on and was no longer attached to the fender. I looked to see why it wasnt attached and saw that the tab from the bumper cover that secures it to the fender on the inside had completely sheared off from the inside of the bumper cover. It was not broken, chipped, or cracked it was sheared completely off in a straight line the whole tab. I had an oil change scheduled the next day with RT.44 Hyundai. When I arrived, I informed my service adviser about the bumper problem.Later when I went to pick the vehicle up, I was informed by the service adviser that RT.44 Hyundai would not cover the replacement of the bumper cover due to the fact that the mechanic found two hairline scratches that never even broke through the clear coat on that side of the bumper cover. These scratches that I had never seen before where so small and light they look like it was made by a tree branch or something and would buff out with compound and a towel. There was no other damage around the surrounding area at all. This was the reason they stated why they would not cover it under the warranty. I then asked to speak to a service manager and brought him out to see the vehicle and showed him the bumper cover. When we walked out to the vehicle, it was drizzling rain and I showed him the cover and let him look it over. He never once mentioned even seeing any scratches around the area. He wasnt made aware of them until we went back inside and he brought my information up on his computer and saw what the mechanic had written. He then stated it would cost me in excess of $1,000 to have the bumper replaced. Im a single mother and do not have the financial resources to lay out that kind of money.I then sent an email to Consumer Affairs of Hyundai of America and was instructed by them to bring my vehicle to another Hyundai dealership for them to look at it. I brought the vehicle to another Hyundai dealer (the closest being 20 miles away). They put the vehicle on the lift and validated everything I was stating on a work order, that no damage was found to cause that bumper tab to snap off the way it did. So now with this in hand, I felt pretty good about my chances of getting the bumper cover replaced under warranty. I contacted Consumer Affairs again and told them of the outcome and that I had gotten a work order from that dealership confirming everything I was stating. The T2 supervisor from Consumer Affairs then told me I would have to go back to the dealership I purchased the vehicle from and rehash it out with them as she stated they had no authority to tell a dealership to honor the warranty. I had done everything they asked me to do at my expense just to have them tell me that I would have to argue with the original dealership over it again. I have kept all the emails correspondences with Consumer Affairs of Hyundai and the work order from the other dealership. So as of today, Im driving around with my front bumper cover held on by tape. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Well that week in June there had been lots of rain, car smell came back. Took the car to the dealership on July 24 for oil change. 25th took the car in for them to investigate the smell. Had a water leak at the roof of the car, where the seal didnt bond the glass roof to the frame. Water had gotten into the car and floor was soaked. Him ** ordered a new roof, carpet, Sun visors, and headliner. Called me to come pick up the car. The car still had the smell. I know firsthand I smelt like the car many off times. Had to go in public smelling like sour mildew from this car. I wasnt happy. Manufacturer refused to stand by its product by honoring what was wrong. Ruet treated me like it was my fault something was wrong with the car. The car needed everything material and electric replaced.She even contacted the dealership to see if the car was drivable with the mold and mildew. My health wasnt an issue to them. The Veloster roofs can leak and cause mold and mildew and that horrible smell. Clothes ruined by that smell. Cant get them rid of the smell as they sat in the car as my back up clothes from walking. I still have the paperwork from the car that smells and it was in the glove box.

My wife and I took a trip from Western PA to the state of Washington and neither of us had aches and pains from the trip to and from either location home. We were very surprised at mileage we got on the trip. All in all we were so pleased with the car we ended up purchasing another. It feels like a luxury vehicle at a low price.

Two weeks ago the Sonata engine seized. The dealer in York PA claims it had no oil however, my wife had topped it off 7-10 days earlier. Then my son checked the oil 3 days before the Sonata engine seized. It had oil.Do not buy a 2011 Sonata or any year Sonata. Google engine problems Hyundai Sonata. There are literally thousands of reported Hyundai engine failure. And there is a class action lawsuit. In addition it is a cheaply made vehicle. The fans squeak, the seats squeak, the Torque steer is outrageous; the Sonata has the worst torque steer of any front wheel car Ive driven. Weve had to invest over $5500 in this cheap car over the past few months. The used Sonata engine cost $3,100 and the York PA dealer gave us exactly 3 months or 3000 miles warranty. I will post my receipts in a few days. Stay away from Hyundai and do not buy a Sonata.

At month 36 of my 39-month lease, I learn they made an error and its a 48-month lease, We went around and around. Then turn in car at end of lease (48 months not 39-months mind you!) to have termination fees, return fees, mileage fees (I expected those), and had a $1400.00 bill. HMF tells me I can pay it incrementally via the same account. I pay $400. then $100 each month at the suggestion of the HMF call representative. I did this on principle because I was so mad about how I was treated so I decided to pay it slowly. Yesterday, I get a phone call from a collection agency saying I owe $1400.00. I explain I have the payment confirmations from my bank showing $900.00 in payments my husband has made--the agency says (quote) well hes lying. No payments have been made and you owe it. I call HMF today and the representative, Tanya, with a heavy Indian accent, tells me she sees the $900.00 and its in collection for $402.21. Again, I tell her that her Hyundai co-representative told me to pay it that way. She says, Ill make a note of that on your account but you have to make arrangements with the collection agency to pay it. I have never had collections on this or any car loan! OMG I was NEVER LATE NOT ONCE. It was auto-pay from my bank! I requested a statement with complete billing history and told Tanya I would pay Hyundai the full amount directly. I have been switched and mislead over and over. Buyer beware!

My daughter is a college student in the area away from home. When purchasing her vehicle I added all the Hyundai Warranties offered to me in order to secure her safety at all times. Her vehicle was taken in April 2016 for repairs and replacement of a few items. She left there with not 1 item corrected. I called several times and was given several excuses. One weekend in May 2016 I drove 5 hours to address the issue in person. I was told by Curvin (Advisor) and Mike (Manager) that the issue would be resolved. Well June rolled around no action. I called the GM of this location to assist in the matter. Well he never returned my call. The only thing he did was send my message back to the service managerAfter contacting the warranty department myself I learned that Hyundai never requested the approval until June 30, 2016. Well here we are in July 2016. Still waiting on the items to be ordered. This will be my last Hyundai and I would not recommend anyone take their vehicle here. Since they were not making extra money off of me, my daughter service was not a priority at all. In 37 years this is the worst experience I have ever had...

I purchased my Accent 2007 brand new off the lot. It is a 5-speed manual shift. I have had extreme brake problems ever since but thats the least of my trouble. Driving to work one night last week, I was moving in traffic and the car just shut off. Luckily, I was able to drift safely to the side of the road I was on. I had to have the car towed to my garage. The next morning, the mechanic called to give me the bad news. My timing belt broke. Okay, I could handle that until he told me the rest... In these cars, when the timing belt breaks, the valves in the motor keep moving and are most likely bent. So I have to pay for the repair and when we try to start it, we will know for sure. I am sick over this. I am on a tight budget and cannot afford a new car at this time. My job is 50 miles one way and I now have no way to get there. Shame on Hyundai for placing such a faulty piece of equipment in their vehicles. I owned a Hyundai Excel years ago and had 200,000 plus miles on it and only ever had to replace a thermostat in it. Had I known how poorly Hyundai is building their cars now, I would have never bought another one. But you can bet that I will never purchase another, nor will anyone in my family. I also work in a big hospital... Thats a lot of potential customers, Hyundai.

Please be super careful when leasing a Hyundai. Hyundai Finance, at the time of return of the vehicle, will most likely charge you a large (return) disposition fee, perhaps as high as $400.00. If your tires are worn (this is beyond the excess wear and tear charge of $.20 a mile), they will charge you $195.00 per tire (far greater than a Walmart retail price and even the retail price at a Hyundai dealer). So you will essentially be buying new tires for the next owner. Good luck with your new Hyundai.

After 76,000 miles I experienced a catastrophic engine failure in my 2011 Sonata Turbo 2.0. The Hyundai service department that the car was towed to said they did not know why this happened. After considering the warranty, it was determined that the engine would be replaced. The second motor was installed and the first time it was cranked, it was determined that the engine failed. A third engine was then installed. At about 10,000 miles on the 3rd engine, the exact same catastrophic engine failure occurred. I learned that Hyundai had previously installed a re-manufactured motor (the third engine) instead of a new long block. I am now waiting to hear if the warranty is even going to cover the 4th engine replacement.I am researching information on Texas Lemon Law to see if this would qualify; my novice experience would say YES but I am horrified to read the other experiences on this website. I would like to think Hyundai is going to try and make this right for me, but I have my doubts. To say the least, I will never purchase another Hyundai. It is disappointing because up until now, I had enjoyed the way the car drove, handled, and how efficient the eco-boost was on fuel.

I purchased my third Sonata, a 2012, just four months ago. I purchased my first two from a dealership near my home in Houston but my third Sonata was purchased in Baytown, Tx. After only a little over 4000 miles, this Sonata left me stranded in Austin, Texas with what I was told was a failed wheel bearing. Fortunately, the wheel did not come off and I made it to a safe area. I felt that being a loyal Hyundai consumer, that Hyundai would help to address this (now third issue) with my car. The car had to go in for service for a back brake plate rubbing against the rotor the first week of ownership.I am having great difficulty getting anyone at Hyundai or the dealership to acknowledge that this Sonata has inherent issues that would warrant replacement of the vehicle. I no longer have confidence or feel safe driving this car. I even question as to whether I might have been sold a car that was unsafe to drive. When the car was towed to the dealership in Austin for repair, they first told me that they did not know for certain what was wrong with it - only that it was something serious and I would be encouraged not to drive it even across town. Many assurances of help and complete satisfaction - and none followed though.

They said this is because I was not the original owner, since I bought it used & bought the extended warranty, it was not covered. I have spent more time at the dealership whether it was in Illinois or Colorado than I have with any other car that I have owned. The total cost is $119.47.

I recently and painfully purchased a new elantra limited. Painfully, because of all the runaround I encountered and despite having researched extensively, still having gotten screwed financially. Dont look for any fairness at Hyundai in Pittsburgh, cause they wear you out with the run around, even if youre trading in a Hyundai sonata that was supposed to keep its value. The sale price for the car may be $21000, but it ended up costing me over $25000 with a trade in. And should I be upset about having blowout flat tire at 533miles, especially when both Hyundai and the tire manufacturer Hankook both deny the defectiveness of their cheap tires? It appears that since Hyundai is dependent on the dealerships to sell their cars, they are Willing to give them some slack on dishonoring the warranties, including on their defective tires. Defective tires can lead to accidents and death! I suppose it will take a certain amount of death to occur before Hyundai takes some action like GM had to. I thought Hyundai was better than that, but apparently not!

My name is Daniel **. I am regretting the choice of buying a vehicle from Hyundai, who claims that they are there to help service the people and help me in general. Unfortunately, Hyundai is providing false information to there clientele. I recently just purchased my 2011 Hyundai Accent. The first week after having bought the car, I had issues. For instance, on the drivers door, there was a light scratch. The tail lights had water leaking inside, creating humidity. And the ignition circle was not firmly adjusted. The servicemen at my Hyundai dealership did fix the scratch without any issue. But they gave me problems towards the tail lights and the ignition key input to start the vehicle. After 6 months of owning the $ 23000 car, which is covered under the Hyundai warranty, I am extremely unsatisfied. Two weeks ago, I brought the Accent to the dealer due to a steering issue i had. They told me the front rim was dented and it was $ 155 to repair it. So, I agreed to this, seeing as it could have been possible as we have terrible roads over here. The following day, the car was making a whistling sound coming from the front tire that they worked on. The day after, I went back and it took them 1 hour an a half to figure out the problem. They charged me $90 without notice or knowledge that I had to pay for them to recheck the car (normally any garage or mechanic will call you first or consult with the client before putting a price to anything). The following week, I noticed a very loud rattling noise while starting the ignition. So as furious as I was, I called the dealership and asked them if they had room to see me. They advised me not till next week. So, I decided to bring the car to another dealer, because it is extremely inconvenient having a brand new car making this noise and causing me so much issues. The service at the new dealership was very kind. I asked if they can take a look at the lights and the rattling sound. They checked it. And then, they called me back a few hours after, saying the tail lights were not screwed in tight, and the metal shield beneath the vehicle wasnt intact enough. They fixed everything and charged me once more $70 without notice! Logically speaking, why would this not be a defect and not under warranty?!I am extremely frustrated. I never loosened anything on my vehicle. This is an issue that came from the manufacturer. This is a product complaint! What I want from you right now is what Hyundai promised me, which is if anything doesnt sound right with the car, you will come in and will examine it for free. Thats why you have a warranty! Where is the promise in that? Does Hyundai just talk strictly out of nowhere just to sell a car and make a couple of bucks commission? I refuse to pay for issues that were caused by bad mechanics from Hyundais part.

2006 Sonata Extended Warranty has catches. All in all was very happy with this car, a 4-cylinder GL model. After 7 years sold it to a friend, who is also happy with it. Did have an extended warranty, but to fix anything on the body, the parts would have to be ordered, and the car left at the dealer all week while a rental car was used (included in the warranty). But I did not want to do this for minor issues. There was one such issue with the passenger’s power window, which did not operate smoothly. The dealer sprayed something into the door but it didnt do much good. Finally on a snowy winter day the cable snapped that controls the mechanism, so the window would no longer stay up. Ended up ordering the part on eBay and fixed it myself in my garage.

The people are great when it comes to buying your car. But when it comes to helping fix it it is a nightmare. I got a new engine 3 months ago. They had it for 9 weeks. After 3 months of having it now it is having another issue and no one seems to know how to help other than fixing it. The parts are nowhere to be found and they have NO loaner cars, which I was told at first one wouldnt be given to me because my warranty didnt cover it even though had they done it right in the 9 weeks they had it, I wouldnt be in the position I am right now with NO car. After struggling for 7 weeks last time, they finally gave me a loaner the last 2 or 3 weeks of it all.Now we are at yet another situation where they cant help. This is completely aggravating and disappointing from Gates. I have been with them 7 years and this has been the worst yet. No big issues have happened in the past. My car is a 2014 with 41,000 miles and it shouldnt be where it is now. It has been well maintained and cared for. Before you buy, just know they are great but thats their job when selling. But when it comes to fixing things later on down the road, good luck.

Hyundai Azera is a cross between a 4 door sedan and a sports car. 6 cylinder gas engine has plenty of power from 0-60 and fuel mileage is 21-27 mph which is decent economy. It is built solidly and provides a smooth ride even over bad roads. GPS and heated seats are standard. FWD provides solid traction in snow up to 6 inches. Lots of good driver safety features at an affordable price. Hyundai’s 5/60/100K warranty is best in the industry. Blue Link app feature provides remote start, SOS, and other invaluable features at a reasonable yearly cost after the original B to B warranty expires. Hyundai discontinued manufacturing the Azera in 2017. The only drawback is if purchased used, the powertrain warranty is reduced to 60K and prepaid MTCE cannot be purchased unless it is a certified preowned vehicle (CPO).

I really loved driving my Hyundai Tiburon! Out of all of the cars on the lot, I liked it the best. I even recommend it to other people! It was a great car and made me like Hyundai as a car maker. I drove the car from Florida to Ohio and it ran beautifully the whole time! It was a small car and a standard transmission. It was great on gas and even though it was only a 4cyl. motor, it was very quick. However, I wish that the seat would have been more adjustable and that it would have gone up and down. I am a short person, so I had trouble seeing over the dashboard!
