It may be playing second fiddle to the Ford Mustang in the sales race, but the Dodge Challenger remains a massively popular muscle car. In the first quarter of 2021, Stellantis managed to shift a staggering 11,124 units of the retro-styled Dodge; no mean feat considering the long-in-the-tooth Camaro rival first saw the light of day 14 years ago.rnThis continued success is undoubtedly down to the appealing cost of entry. You could walk into a Dodge dealership right now and drive out in a brand new Challenger for just $30,825. So why has someone listed a 2008 model for sale at $59,000? The sheer ruggedness of Dodge is a selling point. And I chose Dodge for its history. Ive owned Dodge vehicles since I was 16 and am extremely brand loyal. Features such as the low gear, the hauling capacity, and the aesthetic appeal are always top of my list. My experience has been fantastic. Dodge is always tough and keeps up with my hauling needs. I haul heavy loads of produce 3 times a week so a lot of wear and tear goes on this vehicle and it still goes like a champ. But the heating system is slow to warm up. The defrost could be stronger. Next time Im getting heated seats. I would like to see it come with a standard bed liner.

Where do I begin? Urse Dodge provided my husband with a lease vehicle, a new at the time 2015 Dodge eco diesel... that has been in the shop for the third time after presenting the same symptoms. The dealership worked on the vehicle this time with a general master mechanic from Dodge. It took 21 days to fix (around a couple weeks previous times) and the fix happens to involve purchasing an additive to every fuel up. They cannot even assure us the problem is diagnosed and resolved. We explain that we both work. A loaner vehicle is not an option with the dealership. We say I am almost 8 months pregnant and cannot risk being brought to the hospital and have it break down again - each time it has only been a month or so between repairs when the same issue occurred and stalled the vehicle. We have ZERO confidence in the performance of this vehicle because it seems obvious there is a flaw in the eco diesel emission system that hasnt been figured out yet, and we resent being part of these experimental fixes while our livelihoods and my and my childs safety are at risk. If my husband tries to drive me to the hospital while Im in labor in this vehicle and it stalls out, that is a safety issue! We have asked the dealership for a trade with a reliable vehicle but they have only offered vehicles that are way more expensive and that is unacceptable - this was not a cheap investment in the first place. We have asked the dealership for a way out of the lease and compensation for a lost trade investment - not to mention compensation for lost wages from being compromised in transport, the extra travel expenses incurred in getting a fixer upper to use during the lengthy repair - but of course they cant do that either.Every dead end is met with little sympathy, and statements like our hands are tied, take it up with corporate. We did. We took it up with Dodge Chrysler customer care and started a case and asked for these same resolutions, but we were told to try the vehicle and if it does break down again go back to the dealership?! Dodge customer care stated they cannot help with anything of a financial matter or legal matter. I resent the lack of resolution options from both Dodge and the dealership in addressing this issue. I will be taking this up with the Attorney General, Consumer Affairs and will continue discussing this with our attorney.

I like the fact that it is large enough to fit my family. I trust in the safety. I like the placement of airbags and seats to help ensure we are safe. I like the styling of the vehicle. While I know I have an older vehicle, I would appreciate an underbody camera view, at very least, the rearview camera. The mobile wi-fi is a nice feature, though not needed.

On top of that, the officers that have some the reports both said the same thing which was Dodge has a defect in the driver side door lock that makes it quick and easy for thieves to pop it without the alarM going off. Dodge knows of it but hasnt done a recall because they want to save money. I feel like its very unprofessional to not do a recall on this issue but can do a recall on simple things like jacks and windshield wipers. Reason being, Dodge is being inconsiderate with their customers.Today my husband called Dodge (not the dealership) about the issue and they told us they would not be reimbursing our money because they havent done a recall. Its very ridiculous. This is my second charger. Because I liked it so much I did an upgrade which ultimately became a downgrade. I will NOT be shopping for Dodge vehicles anymore and will be trading the one I currently have in within the next 30 days. I guess Ill be a Chevy customer next. Theyll get my hard earned money before I ever give it to Dodge again! For being an older vehicle, I would most definitely consider the same model when it comes time to purchasing a new car. I purchased this vehicle used, the mileage was good and so was the price. Plus being a manual transmission, there was no way I could say no. It was comfortable and I liked how peppy it was when I tested it out. Shifting smoothly from one gear to the next. However, there could be more spacious throughout the entire vehicle, Im not that fond of there being power windows up front, but manual windows for the back. If I had a choice Id prefer manual windows throughout.

Was not happy at all. We had a lot of problems. The car was always in the shop. The transmission was bad and had to be taken in twice in six months for service. The headlights has a short in them and was constantly bowing out fuses. The gas cap was attached by a very thin piece of plastic that snapped off so the engine light stayed on even though there was no way to replace it. The engine is not very powerful. The car is sluggish and has no torque to speak of. The sunroof broke and wouldnt open. The workmanship was very shoddy. The only thing positive I can say is that the truck was pretty big and the gas mileage wasnt terrible.

The whole time I have owned the car replaced alternator, shoes and pads, screen in transmission and fluids, new tires, put in a rear hitch, ac compressor. However, I would have rear air, navigation system, disc radio with AM and FM, and better headlight made out of a better material than plastic. It tarnish too easily. And the headliner it needs to have better heat reflector in it.

April 2021 the same thing started again but this time it was just defrost and foot combo. It was no longer under warranty so we had to pay to have it replaced. March 2021 the passenger side only blows out high heat, even when the controls are set to cold and the AC is on. We tried all of the tricks to reset it and nothing has worked. If you google the issue it is something that thousands of people have had the same issue over decades of model years. This should be a recall.

Its had a couple issues with the tire going flat and Ive had my ac pump explode but I still love it. Its great on gas, a 4 cylinder, and its only take $20 to fill it up. I love small cars. Im really short so have problems driving but this fits me perfectly. I dont like big trucks or SUVs and Ive always wants a Neon. I love the way the front end looks. The headlights are cool and green. However, the bumper is broken and the side by the back wheel well is bent in and theres a knock in the engine. I also dont really care for that its manual everything. It has manual locks and windows which really get to be a pain after a while.

We currently own a 2012 Dodge Ram and a 2014 Dodge Durango. We purchased both new. We have had the tail light on the Durango replaced 6 times due to moisture leaks since purchasing it in 7/2014. The part number has changed at least 4 times, as one of the previous customer service reps put it because they are having an issue with manufacturing a part that doesnt have issues. We have spent hours on phone calls between the dealership and Dodge to arrange to have the tail light repaired the last 6 times, not to mention the amount of time it has been in the shop and time we had to take off work to take it in. Last year when we had it replaced for the sixth time, we were advised by the dealership the tail light would be covered for 24 months. We now have a leak a year later and we advised by the dealership that we needed to call Dodge to have it approved. After back and forth between Dodge and the dealership, because one would point the responsibility to the other, Dodge doesnt want to approve it because the part is no longer under warranty from the initial replacement, regardless that this is a consistent issue, we would need to pay it. We asked to speak to a customer service supervisor and were told we would get a call back. The supervisor repeated that we would have to pay for it, and it was not Dodges problem that weve had the same part issue seven times. We asked to speak to his supervisor and he refused because there is no one else above him (as a level 2 supervisor). We asked to speak to another supervisor and he stated there were no other supervisors. We asked to speak to his boss, he said their is no one else above him. My husband asked four times before becoming irritate at which time the supervisor disconnected the call. Did I mention this is over the same part that has been replaced 6 times? I am concerned about water exposure to the electrical components, whether causing a fire or a malfunction while I am driving. There are two other complaints about the tail light leaks in less than a month on Dodges Facebook page.We had been discussing purchasing a Jeep within the next year or two and purchasing a new Dodge Ram within the next 4-5 years, but I am not paying money to any companies affiliated with Dodge. We are never buying a Dodge again due to poor customer service. We will be bumping up our next vehicle purchase so we can get out of under the Durango.

Then not too far down the road my passenger side seat belt goes out and my air bag light comes on the dash area. I take my vehicle into my dealer and they tell me there is a short in the air bag wiring and it would be around $900 to fix.I call Dodge after seeing if there were any recalls and talk to a representative about my safety concerns and that I have not done any after market work to my vehicle so I feel the short in the wiring should be replaced and is not normal wear and tear. After being on hold for a bit I’m informed there is nothing they can do and it is considered normal wear and tear. I have never had any seatbelt issues in any of the other several cars I own and a short in a wire for air bag safety is from your end with assembling and checking the vehicle. I even informed the representative I would even be willing to pay half to fix the air bags and seat belt because I do like my Durango. I think the end result for me will be to trade in my vehicle and purchase from another manufacturer.

My 2011 Challenger RT 5.7L drives like a dream and has been very reliable thus far, 2 years now! I did quite allot to it though to make it that way and I have some serious issues with some of what dodge did with this car! First as an RT it should have had a LSD rear end standard, not just a traction control system! 2nd the rear headrests are a blind spot issue and cause wrecks, I removed mine and dont carry passengers in the rear seats. 3rd the cloth seats are junk, I removed and installed a Katzkin leather seat kit on mine, also making it a custom rear headrest delete setup! 4th the exhaust pipes are 2 1/4 dia. on a automatic car making it over rated at 372hp! The stick shift cars get a 2 1/2 dia. pipe size stock, I changed mine to a Gibson 2 1/2 cat-back with resonator exhaust system, now with a drop in K&N filter and a non-resonator cold air box intake tube from a 2011 Charger application, I am getting the full 372 plus horse power! 5th there is no transmission dipstick, I bought an aftermarket dipstick tool to service my transmission at 40,000 miles! 6th the rear drive shaft coupler bolts on the rear end side are grade 5 and they break! I replaced mine with pink Dodge SRT Challenger grade 8 bolts shortened 1/4 to fit. 7th the PCV system lets oil get sucked into the intake manifold at all times!? I installed a UPR billet fender mount catch can on the factory fender tab like one was supposed to be there? Now controlling the oil issue well! I did not have to deal with all the recall issues as I bought my car used with 42,00 miles on it and the old owner did all that, I have only put 8,000 miles on it! I love the sport tuned suspension as it smooths out the road and you dont feel the harshness of the race tuned version! It handles much better than they say! The 13 3/4 disk dual piston brakes are great but I upgraded to Napa Police rotors up front and Dodge performance pads as the old rotors warped. With the MDS 4-8 cylinder system I got 27mpg on a 1,200 mile trip cross country! Overall I am very happy with my purchase of the 2011 Dodge Challenger modified car!

It has enough room for all the family to ride together when we go on trips or out to eat. I have a six foot tall son that has plenty of room in the middle seat for him to set comfortable. Wish they had full seats in the front seat, hate bucket seats. Also, dont understand why they never tint the front windows like they do the back ones.

I had it checked out at the time of purchase and all seemed to be fine, but nonetheless I purchased an extended warranty just in case. Four months later the engine developed a tick. I did some researching to find that the 5.7 Hemi has a tick at start up but goes away shortly after it warms up. My tick did not go away. More and more research revealed that hundreds of people have had problems with the exhaust manifold bolts breaking due to the inferior grade of bolts that Dodge used to secure the header to the exhaust manifold. Whether its the rapid heat build up or aluminum manifold that heats and cools too quickly I am not sure, but it is definitely a problem and Dodge knows it. It can happen on either the drivers side or passengers side of the engine. And unless you replace all the bolts with stainless steel manifold bolts, you are just asking to have to do this over again in the future. Despite the fact they know they screwed up and this is going to cost their customers hundreds of dollars to fix, they have not issued a recall. They know they screwed up because you go to any Dodge dealer and they have a full set of stainless steel manifold bolts on hand just in case. Why would they keep these upgraded manifold bolts on hand if they didnt know this was a problem. This is why. Because they are avoiding a costly recall and passing the buck to their customers.I took mine to a Dodge dealer to have it diagnosed to make sure it wasnt an internal issue like valves or something, but had a good suspicion of exactly what the problem was after the many reviews and forums I had read online. Sure enough, after a $140 diagnosis charge, they told me it was the broken exhaust manifold bolts and the gasket had also failed as a result. I presented my extended warranty and they called, but alas!! They will not cover any of the repairs because it was not the exhaust manifold itself or the header that failed, but the sub-grade bolts Dodge used. Leaving me to foot the cost of an estimated $720-$950 repair. And thats just for two bolts because they have to drill into the bolts to extract them from the manifold. Thanks Dodge!! You suck!!They are dodging the bullet, or the recall. They know it is a problem and will only fix it if you are the original owner with the lifetime drivetrain warranty. Some extended warranties have covered it, but not mine. They also are getting a nasty review. They also know its a problem and are finding loopholes not to cover the issue, again leaving the customer to foot the bill.As I read up on all these forums, posts, reviews, I see that this has occurred across many years of Ram 1500s. From 2004-2013. Maybe the newer ones just have not busted yet, who knows. One thing I can tell you is that I am one buying American vehicles. They are shysters and will not own up to their faults. I can see why people pay the higher price tag of Toyota. They build vehicles that last and when they find a fault, they fix it rather than pass the buck to their customers. My best advice, DO NOT BUY DODGE!

I contacted the dealership which in turn submitted a claim to get the screen repaired. The car was still under warranty (under 36,000 miles). Dodge refused the claim and the dealership wants to charge me 2,800 dollars for the repair. It was a big mistake getting a Dodge since they don’t honor their warranty.

I had thought about owning a Challenger Scat Pack for years, so this month I decided 2021 would be the year Id make it happen. I worked with a salesman called Taylor Red. In all our face-to-face interactions, he seemed completely uninterested in doing business with me, probably because I look young and mentioned I had test driven cars from other brands. Anyways, to make a long story short, I went for a one-hour test drive to make sure this was definitely the car I wanted.When I got back from the test drive, the first thing Red asked is why I didnt answer my phone. I guess it didnt occur to him that Id be focused on the test drive, not my phone. At this point he seemed downright irate. It was evident that he didnt take me seriously as a customer, but I figured he could at least answer a question I had about some powertrain settings in Uconnect. He asked me to show him what I was talking about, so we went out to the car. Red and I got into the car. This is where the experience nose-dived directly into the ground. I showed him the settings I had a question about, and I commented on braking performance and he became belligerent. He proceeded to repeatedly call me a reckless driver (my driving record is perfect) and berated me over the cars break-in period requirement, the details of which I was not informed of at all. Its ignorant and irresponsible to assume I know. I didnt do anything crazy with the car, nor did I drive far, but Red acted as though the car was totaled. Unbelievable. The experience was incredibly uncomfortable and humiliating. He treated me like a child. Unforgivable and unacceptable. Guy, Im probably older than you.I have never in my entire life been treated so poorly. After Reds meltdown he had the unmitigated gall to say, in the most unenthusiastic and annoyed tone, let us know when youre interested to buy and stormed back inside. Are you ** serious? From what corner of hell did you find this miserable creature, Rairdon? Do you think this is acceptable? You seem to since other people have had similar problems with Red and other staff members. Its 2021. Enough of the sleazy, pushy, and rude used car salesmen tactics of the 80s. Its costing you and Dodge business. Stop. Think.I left immediately after. I felt horrible for the rest of the day. Red, you do not speak to a customer like this. Ever. Period. You are bad at your job. All the issues I experienced seem to be a faulty alternator (Radio went crazy, cold air turned to hot air, messages started going crazy, electric windows stuck and finally car killed). Seems there is a recall on the alternator. I had to pay out of my pocket to get it towed. I am having to request and wait up to 60 days to see if they will refund me. Dodge Neon was a decent car that I bought used. I bought this car because of the price, as well as the availability of parts in case I needed to work on it. Moreover, the car gets great gas mileage and is a smooth ride, even for being an older model. It does need some work done to it though like replacing the circuit board for the instrument panel cluster but that is cheap and I will get it done. So far, this car has taken me through an emergency move of over 2000 miles with no serious issues. However, it has no power door locks or windows, as well as power mirrors and no locking gas cap. A CD player with a front auxiliary jack would be an improvement though.

Its not too big and not too small. I love trucks and its handy for when you have to move houses. I like that you can fit a lot of things in the back. It also has a nice radio and the seats are nice and very spacious. But I dont like how the screws kept coming lose and the gas mileage. I didnt really like it at first because of how it sounded but it was just because it had a screw loose. Still, it wasnt a bad truck. I would by another one if I had the money.
