Disappointed customer. I thought I was making a smart choice when I bought my used 2011 Kia Sorrento (Liberty Ford) boy was I wrong. The reason for the purchase I needed a reliable car as I drive 500 miles a week from home to work and with Kia having a 10 year 100k mile warranty and the car only having 70k miles on was to me at the time a no brainer. I had the car a little over a year and the engine went. I did purchase the extended warranty from Liberty but because it was a Kia they could not work on it and sent it to Bedford Kia for inspection. After numerous phone calls and even an in-person visit, they had my car for 52 days before it was fixed and returned to me. They put in a new/used engine that had at the time 65k miles on it so I thought once again I was in good shape, well I was wrong again. This engine lasted 11 months and 22k miles and because I was over the miles, I was told in not so many words - sucks to be you right now, you will have to foot this bill. I also want to note this engine quit on me as I was slowing down for an accident that was on the freeway. I was going about 60mph at the time, tapped the brakes to slow down and the engine quit. I had to limp the car from the high speed lane to the berm with no power, it was a very dangerous situation at the time. I am just trying to understand as a customer that had 2 bad engines where the accountability as a manufacturer is? I do understand warranties but all I was looking for was someone to say we understand and give me some kind of help. I wasn’t looking for Kia to pay the entire bill but 2 engine failures engines that only made it to around 80k that were not my fault some help would have been nice. All toll right now I have around $6.200 invested back in a car I only paid $7,400 for. As a single father of 6 working 2 jobs this was a bill I did not need. With all this being said I would like to thank my mechanic at Done-Rite Auto who treated me as a person first and a customer second by cutting his price on labor and parts and had the car fixed in 3 days as opposed to the 52 it took Kia to fix it.

Please forward to any other KIA Executive Team member that should be informed. We just want to share with you an extremely disappointing Customer Experience and lack of Customer Care from one of your car dealers located in Delray Beach Florida. On Saturday, July 30th my wife and I dropped by your dealer in Delray. After discussing pricing and other related information, we proceeded to sign the necessary papers for your team to prepare the loan documentation and other documents necessary for us to come the next day to pick up a car that your team said was supposedly somewhere in Florida. After various phone calls during Monday, August 1st we agreed with your team to drop by the Dealer at around 7:00 PM ET, which we did. When we arrived, for our surprise your team shared with us that the car they were expecting to be delivered to their dealership for us (a 2016 Kia Sorento white LX) was involved in an accident. The car was being drove by someone instead of being delivered in a toll platform truck to avoid precisely these type of issues. Your management team should learn from this experience. In summary, we spent hours, expected a new KIA SUV be delivered to us today Monday August 1st. For our surprise nothing was delivered to us because after such a poor Customer Experience your team was not able to deliver as expected. We shared with the Manager what we expected because of the frustrating and disappointing customer experience, and that KIA management should review our situation and at a minimum propose to us a 2017 with the same financial numbers we already discussed. Your Manager understood our frustration, but was not able to compensate us for such a bad customer experience. He proposed us a 2017 but it represented around $4K dollars more than what was already discussed and agreed to (because that was all he was able to do at this level), which is NOT ACCEPTABLE to us, that was not what we originally agreed to. They ruined our weekend, our illusions and our expectations... Is this what KIA calls Customer Satisfaction? This transaction took place on the last day of the month for your Dealer. We do not want to think that they just wanted to book the sale and once the month was over they left us hanging with the problem. If you measure your Dealers based on executed sales, then this is a mute point, but if its based on sales book, then this is a problem. I just want to make sure I bring this issue to the attention of the KIA Management team, because this the worst Customer Experience I have suffered in my lifetime. KIA lost a potential customer for life. I will make sure that I share my experience with family members, work colleagues, and in social media as well. This should have never happened. A satisfactory customer resolution should have been found immediately to this situation.

Fantastic miles per gallon, roomy. After much research, I decided on the Kia Sorento. I have not been disappointed. A quiet ride & great gas mileage. There is a lot of cargo room, with storage in back. Hands-free option for phone. The turn signal lights on the side view mirrors are a great safety feature.

I was looking for a car with great gas mileage, comfortable in seating 5 people, and would last for many years. I bought the 2009 Kia Spectra LE and had some reservations as I had always owned either a Ford or Chevrolet all of the years I had driven but the salesman indicated that the nitrogen tires increased the gas mileage. After owning it for 2 years I developed an air leak and kept taking it to the dealership to get nitrogen in the tire until they could get me in for service on the tire. I finally just started using air and found absolutely no difference in my gas mileage so I have since replaced all 4 tires with regular air tires.

We have a 2013 Kia Sorento we bought in 2012. Last year my wife informed me 3 different times that when she would back out into traffic after picking our children up from day care, the SUV would stall. It was inspected by Kia a few times. They were not able to find anything wrong. They took out the electric starter thinking that was the problem and put a new one in. We had no issues until this year when my wife backed out and almost was rear-ended. I went in to Kia and spoke to the manager where we bought the Kia. They informed me that they dont know what the problem is. They are not able to reenact the stalling, so nothing happens. What is frustrating is I called Kia Canada and all they can do for us is Record the issues that I have had, nothing else. What is it going to take, for my wife to back out into traffic and be rear-ended after the Kia stalls? I have a 3 and 7 year olds still in car seats. As a Father and husband, my blood boils to think that they have no idea what is causing this which puts my family in imminent risk. And having a factory warranty that is no good to me? My family is everything to me. I feel trapped as I cannot afford to lose 10 to 12 thousand dollars if I sell. I cannot justify selling the vehicle to someone else as I cannot, nor will be responsible if the vehicle stalls and someone gets hurt or worse, killed. So I pray!!!

Purchased a car, went to pick it up and close the deal. Said the car was moved offsite, they could not find it. Then they found it but could not start it, it was the battery, no then it was the fuel pump. They bring up a higher priced model and said take it or leave it. I had to have a car, they knew it. Then hidden in the lease and never disclosed is a $400 termination fee. I argue, they say they never disclose this after all it is 3 years away. Arrogant and unprofessional, might as well have been on a used car lot with bare light bulbs shining. Three letters and many phone calls to the owners, not a return - nothing. How about I am sorry. Stay away from this dealer.

My wife and I purchased a Kia Sorento from Union City Kia in Georgia. We purchased the vehicle on 8/31/11. We were informed by our salesman at that time that it was the last day of a promotion the dealership was running where you received 2 Atlanta Falcons seasons tickets if you bought a car, but the offer ended at the end of that day. As a matter of fact, the car we test drove that day was black and had all of the Falcons promotional stickers all over it. About 10 days went by and had no tickets so I called my salesman. He told me he was going to check into it and call me back. I did not receive a call so I called back on Friday again and left a message, still no call back. I called on Saturday and he checked with his manager and he told me they should be there that day and to check after the mail delivery and let him know if they are not there. The tickets were not there so I called back as instructed and was told by the receptionist the salesman was not there and had left for the day, and there was no manager to speak to. However, the tickets would take about 30 to 45 days to arrive from the sale date. None of this was mentioned at the time of the sale. I emailed the Kia customer service and was contacted by them with absolutely no help and was told the promotion actually ended on the 28th, not the 31st, and to go back to the dealer and see if they would step up to what they promised as they are independently owned. I called the dealership and again received no return calls so I went to the dealership and talked to a manager on duty. He took my information and told me he was going to find out what was going on and call me back that evening. I again received no call. The next day, I went into the dealership and was routed to their business manager Kennon **. He told me that I was right, the promotion ended on the 31st and that it was a corporate promotion which they did not purchase enough tickets so he was going to find out what he needed to do to get more. He stated I was not the only person that was complaining about this. Kennon told me he would get me some information by the end of the day. He did call me that night and left me a voice message telling me he was playing phone tag with the guy and he would be in the next day to follow up and get back with me. That was on a Wednesday. I did not get a call back on Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Monday so I called the dealership again and was informed he was on vacation for the week and he was the only person that could help me. I emailed him and Kia customer service again with no reply from Kennon which was expected, but I did receive a response from Kia Southern Region office, and once again, they just said go back to the dealer since they are the ones that made the deal. This time she said besides it was on a “while supply lasts promotion” which of course no one ever mentioned that while signing for the car just that we would be getting the tickets. So I again stopped into the dealership on Monday, 10/24/11, and personally talked to Kennon. He now changed his story and said the promotion actually ended on the 28th, but he was going to check in with another manager and ensured me he would call me that evening. I also informed him it was him that confirmed to me in person that the 31st was in fact the cut-off date and all I wanted was what was promised to us. Well, once again, I was lied to. No call on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday. I would think if the promotion ended on the 28th, the salesperson, rest of the staff and management would have known that by the 31st, and the promotional car would have had the decals removed. The fact is they were so desperate to sell the car they intentionally lied to get the sale done. This is immoral and bordering illegal. A contract whether verbal or written is binding.Well, it is now 10/25/11 and we have missed 3 home games and still no tickets. I have gone above and beyond to clear this up, but have had no luck even getting the dealership to answer my many calls and lie to my face every time I speak to them in person. It is evident this dealership has a problem standing behind promises made while getting you to purchase a vehicle. As a consumer, there should be some protection against companies that rip them off and knowing the whole time they are doing it just for a dollar. I just want to work something out and get this cleared up. This dealership is a direct reflection on the Kia automobile, regardless if it is privately owned.I filed a complaint with the Atlanta BBB on 10/28/11. It is now 11/30/11 and the Better Business Bureau just informed me they have tried several times to contact the dealership, but the dealership has not responded to any of their attempts. No surprise there. That is their trademark. Well, as the end of the football season nears and still no word from the Kia dealership to no surprise. This may be an independent dealership. However, they represent Kia when they sell their vehicles. I’m not finished pursuing avenues to get this resolved. All is good and they will make any promise to get the deal closed, and once they have you, they forget all about you and the promises they have made.

I bought a 2007 Kia Sorento off the showroom floor, and it has been good mechanically. Kia of Vero Beach has been the only one to service the vehicle. The problem is that there is a noise when it shifts gears and it is getting worse. I went to the dealership and asked the service manager, Mr. Danny **, to have them look at it to clear the noise. He informed me I would have to pay for them to analyze the problem, which is clearly under warranty. I refused to do so and the problem still has not been resolved. This is not right, and I will not purchase another Kia or recommend them at any of my functions in Vero - just the opposite.

I purchased the 2018 Kia Sorento EX 3.3L AWD new in January 2018. I currently have 23k miles on the vehicle now. This vehicle has been one of the best vehicles Ive ever owned, and Ive owned a lot of cars. The AWD system works great, handling is great, power is there when you need it and its comfortable. Every vehicle has its cons, but I find it difficult to find one with the Sorento. I know a few other people who own a Sorento and couldnt be happier with the purchase. The interior has a great feel and well put together, unlike a lot of new vehicles and their cheap composite plastic. The lines are almost seamless. The warranty (10yr/100k) seems great until you read the fine print. A lot of components are dropped off the warranty at certain mileage intervals along the way to the 100k benchmark. I did pay for the better warranty which covers all components to 100k miles, but even then other companies have warranties only going out to 24k to 36k miles, which is convenient to drop the vehicles warranty the moment it leaves new car status.I would recommend this vehicle to anyone thats considering purchasing an mid size SUV. For what you pay its the best bang for the buck. There is a transmission software update available. I brought the vehicle back in at 5600 miles to have it completed. KIA sent a $50 Visa prepaid debit card in the mail due to the inconvenience. Ive never received anything from any other manufacturer for an inconvenience.

I think Kia has a problem with their rear end 2008 Kia Sorento. My car makes a lot of noise when driving, I had the rear end fluid change. Keep in mind that the Power Train Warranty is for 100,000 miles. I just have 43,000 miles on my vehicle. They said because I can not find the proof of having it changed, its my fault and I would have to pay out of pocket to get it fixed. I read online that a lot of customers have the same problems with Kia Motors.

Car engine blew-up @ 50,811 miles on 12/08/2017, just had oil changed on 11/14/2017, car had 49,555 running perfectly fine. On 12/08/2017 husband arrives at work @ 7 am and all his co-workers were looking at him strangely as the car started to sound like a helicopter above. He backed into the parking space then shut down engine POW all the engine oil pours out, as co-workers supplied him to put cardboard under the engine, I called KIA roadside service for tow. They came and towed to KIA dealership and they are not taking responsibility. Im still under warranty. They are playing a blame game where I changed my oil saying its a faulty oil filter. Why is it I drove my vehicle just fine for 1,200 miles (3 weeks) and not a single drop of oil in my driveway, not a drop. Then a little drive up the road approx. 5 miles as every weekday to my husbands employment at 7 am it just blows up, he takes side streets not even the highway. Then the Dealer states there was no oil and no oil on dipstick, and engine light on. Duh... because its on the concrete at my husbands parking spot. Heres a pic at his work. If it were a faulty oil filter/gasket my engine would have blown way before. A lot of engine specialist say it sounds like the Pistons blew through the motor.KIA are crooks and need to be held accountable. I maintain my car, Im a disabled 57 year old with disabilities, this is my only way to get to and from my doctors and its making me have setbacks, I was in the ER on 12/13/2017 due to stress and anxiety and excruciating pain, an episode of my fibromyalgia. While in ER they also had findings that Im gonna need spinal surgery. My C-2 is fractured, I need my car or at least a rental, my finances are exhausted, I need surgery, follow ups, rehabilitation and have no car yet. Im still paying my car payments, providing insurance for my car thats $400 per month, plus I had to rent a car to get to and from neurosurgeon/husbands work/MRIS, that costed me $30 per day, I have to return it after my neurosurgeon appointment on 12/22/2017.Its disgusting that this Company KIA is so corrupt and is getting away with their defective Automobiles, when I started researching there are 1,000s of Kias blowing engines of cars with such a few miles, these are NEW cars we the people are paying good money for, why is it NO ONE WILL HELP US KIA CUSTOMERS AND MAKE THINGS RIGHT. THIS IS DANGERING MY LIFE... IM GETTING SICKER... MAKE ME WHOLE. See because the service writer gets commission if its not Kias fault, and zero commission if it is their fault. Makes sense?Meanwhile my health is declining for a selfish greedy company, youre telling me they have millions of cars sitting, some they sink and they cannot make things right and replace these vehicles. Yet we allow these cars to come to the United States to squeeze us dry selling defective Automobiles, so unfair. Since this all happened I want to know something, I often drive with my little grandbabies in my car, what if we were on the freeway??? And the engine died??? Would we all be alive??? PLEASE MAKE THEM ACCOUNTABLE! INVESTIGATE... INVESTIGATE. MAKE THIS RIGHT. Thank you and God Bless though driving KIAS... BEWARE.

I have a 2018 Kia, Sorento. I have been trying to get blind spot mirrors since the the day I purchase it in Nov. 2017. After being told by the dealers salesman, then parts department (Napelton Kia in Elgin, IL.,) I contacted KIA online. I had a chat with Alexis (Friday 6/29/18 at 5:14 CDT). When asked why I couldnt look up parts for my 2018 KIA Sorento, she replied that the parts department had not update (sp) them yet. I should contact their parts specialist sometime MON-FRI from 6:30 A.M.-5:00 P.M. PST. When I said that not having someone to answer parts questions all the time was archaic, the conversational attitude changed. I told her that I had purchased 2 new KIAs this year for cash, her reply was We do not accept cash, sir. You must be confusing us with the dealer. Of course I was talking about the dealer! I cant buy from the manufacturer! That doesnt change the fact that I spent over $40,000 with this company. All I got was the corporate run-around from them. Very disappointed and wish I had bought the Subarus I had been looking at.

I brought my car in for 15,000 miles maintenance. Alignment way off; told me they couldnt fix it 100%. I asked why and they said something must be bent. I asked them what? They replied they didnt know. Told me I had recall for front right axle. They had to order the part and would recheck wear on tires to see if their incomplete alignment caused any issues. So about a month later I brought it back in and they said wear was fine, replaced right front axle and I had hope that was the reason the alignment couldnt be fixed 100%. They knew I was going on over 2,000 mile trip for sons wedding. I have no shimmy, although alignment isnt 100%, it still seems to be okay. About 100-150 miles from destination, have EMTs pull up on right side of my car and roll down their window. We roll down ours and they point to my passenger rear tire and then angle their arm. We pull off immediately and sure as heck my passenger rear tire is bent inward at top, around 11 oclock. I drive 50 mph rest of way, check alignment and Im not pulling any worse than before. I call Kia Roadside assistance and they come tow my car to local dealership. They didnt look at my car immediately, but had only had it 2 hours and call me and let me know that my front passenger strut is bent (Why didnt the dealership notice this when they replaced the axle on that side, or when they couldnt correct the alignment 100%). If it took this dealership less than 2 hours to find the bent right strut, why didnt they find it? Why didnt they look. Supposedly going to cost me $680 plus tax to fix (Not under warranty... WHY??). I hit nothing, I ran over nothing. Is this possibly a recall issue, or should be a recall issue and due to strut being bent, it bent my back right tire inward. Supposedly once strut is replaced and car is realigned, my passenger rear tire will straighten out. Im not stupid. Maybe because Im female they think I am, but Ive worked on cars for over 25 years. Im betting that my rear passenger tie rod is bent. I even mentioned it at the dealership, in the service department, but they are adamant that itll be fixed once the strut is replaced and the car is realigned. They have already said that they could tell I didnt run over or hit anything, so why am I paying out of pocket anyway? Isnt it supposed to be under warranty? If the tie rod is bent, isnt that the fault of the dealership that did my original alignment and told me that they thought something might be bent, but didnt look for it? Then again when they replaced the passenger front axle (recall) and didnt notice it and still couldnt get it aligned? Shouldnt they pay for this? Im frustrated and angry, first for them treating me like Im stupid because Im a girl and girls dont know anything about cars... BS, and then when Im suggesting itll be more than just the strut, telling me that Im not qualified (another way to say that Im a girl and girls dont know anything about cars) to think that..... And they are the experts, yet they didnt even look for what they thought was bent. I mean they literally said we think something is bent and then didnt look for it. Whats wrong with that picture? Annoyed, from California and Stuck in Illinois until my car is fixed!!!

Received Kia Motor Finance Lease Agreement, dated 09/19/2013 with noted Maturity Date of 09/19/2016. The disposition fee will be waived if you purchased or leased a new Kia Motors Finance within 60 days after the return of the leased vehicle. I had decided not to purchase and to return the car. I returned the car prior to 09/19/2016. When I leased the car on 09/13/2016, I had the alarm activated, 3m edge protectors door guides and handle cap, windows tinted 2-4 for a total amount of $1451. I had new brakes serviced on 06/06/2016 and completed set of new premium 19 tires installed just before the brakes this year. I took extra care of car which had no dents. I called Kia to go over added charge of $290 fee and was told the front bumper had a scratch which I was never aware of nor have I ever notice when the car was wax or washed. The car was waxed and spotless when returned. I took pride in keeping the car in top shape including using synthetic oil and filters. I received notice for request of $690 to be paid within 15 days from date of notice dated 09/29/2016. The total consisted of disposition fee of $400 and excessive wear and use of $290. My wife and I prefer not to be charged unnecessarily and as a result of this I will be frank with anyone that might be interested in leasing a Kia to watch out for these unnecessary added fees if one elects not to purchase the car. I sent check for above amount of $690. I did not take photos when I returned car since it was immaculate and did not foresee any problems.

I took my 2006 Kia Sportage EX in for routine service at the Young dealership in Lansing, MI 6 weeks ago and asked to rotate my tires. They broke a lug nut stud on my right front tire and had to order another one (took 3 days). On 4/16/12, I took it in again for routine service. This time they broke 3 studs on my right front tire. Again, they had to order it. I’m still waiting. Is there a problem with Kias wheels? Or is there a problem with this dealership? My Kia is a 2006 model with over 180,000 miles on it. I am extremely satisfied with this vehicle but again, is there a problem?

Buyers of the EV 6 are left with being able to charge their cars at home. It’s an egregious process and someone at Kia needs to step up and give customers valid information.

2011 KIA Optima - After only 75,000 miles the steering wheel is getting loose. I brought the vehicle to the dealership and said it was a known issue, but refused to pay for it. They said I could put my name on the list to have the part ordered (50 currently on back order), but said I wanted to contact the manufacturer to place a complaint. KIAs 100,000 mile DRIVE TRAIN warranty does not cover the steering. I will never purchase from KIA ever again. They are cheaply built cars!

Thinking it was normal warranty work, I went to Pence KIA to get my 2010 Kia Soul (with a little over 30,000 miles) have its rear wiper motor looked at for a grinding noise it was making. I was told that it was an adjustment and lubrication issue and is not warranty covered. KIA installed a motor on the car with admitted insufficient grease inside the motor and would be deemed a defective manufacturing issue. Now, they do not want to honor their obligation under their warranty saying it is an adjustment and lubrication issue, which I need to pay for. Below is the TBS issued by KIA where they admit to insufficient grease inside the wiper motor.“Visibility: rear window wiper/washer: Kia: service action - rear wiper squeal noise repair (sa026). Provides information relating to some vehicles that may experience a rear wiper squeal noise when operating. This concern is due to insufficient grease inside the rear wiper motor. 2010 Kia Soul Technical Service Bulletin 2010/01/01 NHTSA #: 10033669, Service Bulletin #: TSB-054.”

After going over all the terms and conditions of the sales price and trade in which was written on scrap paper, I went into the room to sign all the papers that were ready to sign in which I did, only to find out mostly everything was changed. Thankfully, my mother was present and what we were told was not what the contract said. They increased the sales price instead of giving me the ext warranty they charged me. They also added a second warranty of $2,000 and the total warranty charged was $3,795.00. Right after signing, the sales person came in and folded all the papers so I could not even look them over.

I have owned 3 Kias in the last 10 years (2 Optimas and a Forte) and I will never purchase again. Each one is worst than the last. Very cheaply made, and the warranty is a joke. Roadside assistance use to be better, but in the last 3 years has rapidly declined (again, if these cars were better made you wouldnt really need roadside assistance on a new vehicle.) The last time I called, I needed a battery jump (this car is only 2 years old by the way) and they told me they were unable to find anyone to come out. But I could pay $245 and possibly be reimbursed. What?! I live in a major city in Florida and they couldnt find one person to jump my battery??? Thank God I was at home, otherwise I could have been stranded on a highway somewhere. Believe me they couldnt care less. Save yourself the frustration, buy another brand -ANY other brand, and if you are stuck with a Kia, get AAA. For $106/year its worth not dealing with these people.

We have called and dealt with the car dealer about the front end thumping sound. We had to replace the tires at 22,000 miles and we had the car in the car dealer 10 times. With only 22,000 miles on the car, we spent $672.15 for new tires and the dealer would not help, Atlantic Kia (out of bus., selling Kias now) in Pleasantville, NJ 08232. Now with 70,000, it needs tires again and the thumping area is the worst of the 3 tires. Now we will spend $550 for new tires. With that we always get rotation, balancing and front end alignments. We have all receipts but Kia will not call or email back and will not help at all.

I brought a 2012 KIA Sedona 10/2011 and it keeps breaking down - On 5/23/20
I brought a 2012 KIA Sedona 10/2011 and it keeps breaking down - On 5/23/2012, I was riding in traffic and felt a great big jerk, check engine light came on and the speedometer went all the way down. I had to swerve off the the road very quickly because it almost caused an accident. I tried to proceed after swerving onto the side of the road and the van would not go over 10mph. Someone could have been seriously hurt. This is a safety issue. I called Felton Holly Kia and spoke with the automotive manager Dawn. She stated it sounded like the throttle. I then called Kia Roadside Assistance and Dawn called Enterprise for a rental for me. On 5/24/12, Dawn called me to state that they replaced the throttle actuator. I picked my van up after work and left the rental car at the Kia dealership. I also asked Dawn, if this was a recall, then why didnt I receive a letter from the manufacturer? She stated she didnt tell me it was a recall. Actually, I understood her to say recall. She then stated it was a service call for the battery terminal and they replaced the throttle actuator. I then just left the dealership still upset and dissatisfied, but the van ran okay at that moment. On 6/3/12, my van did the same thing it did on 5/23/12, which consisted of riding in traffic, feeling the big jerk and the speedometer went down quickly. I could not get it to get the speed back up. It would not go over 30mph at this point. Kia roadside assistance was called once again on 6/4/12 to tow my van to Felton Holly KIA. I spoke with a gentleman on 6/4/12 (8:10AM) by the name of Peter and told him the problem I was experiencing with my van and that I would need a ride from work. He stated okay, they would take a look at my van to see what was going on. I never heard from anyone at Felton Holly KIA so I decided to call at 1:24PM (6/4/12) and I spoke with Dawn, who stated they still were not aware what was wrong and the maintenance personnel had gone to lunch, but would return in 15 minutes. I waited and then 2:38-2:40PM, Dawn called to state that they were replacing the pedal on my van. She stated this was all related to the same issue. I asked, how could that be if you replaced the throttle actuator? She stated she never stated the throttle actuator was replaced, but that they put the new computer information in my van, which was never put in. I stated, you never said that and she said she did. I just started jotting down what was being said by her. Dawn asked, was I aware how PCs worked when they install the new information? I stated no, so she called herself explaining it. She stated that my 2012 van did not have the new computer information, but it had the old information so they input this information in on the 5/23/12 incident. I feel like the information is being given and turned around once I repeat to them what they previously have told me. This is very frustrating. It seems like they are guessing about what is wrong and the real issue is not being resolved. I need help on how to handle this situation so I can utilize my options.

On 11/25/18 I purchased a vehicle from KIA of Irvine. They totally scammed me on the service and maintenance contracts and also the theft deterrent on the car. They went as far as to fraudulently forged my signatures on the maintenance and service contracts. Those two added up to $4000.00, they also snuck in $1495.00 for the theft. So a total of $5495.00 added to my contract without my knowledge of it. The people that work in finance are nothing less than thieves and liars. None. And for you people that work in sales your hands arent clean either. You might not be directly involved in the fraud and the Payment Packing that is being used in finance, all of you most definitely are aware of whats going on over there in finance. When you guys forged my signature on those two contracts, you then submitted them for payment and then received payment for them. That is fraud!! And I am 100% convinced that the owner of this dealership has got to be aware of the practices being used there to commit fraud to scam their customers out of money. HE KNOWS. Every one in sales and finance are all thiefs and I assure you, that you will get what you have coming.

Traded in 2012 Kia for 2014 KIA at Jeff Belzers Lakeville MN. They brought the 2014 to my home. On January 22nd 2015, KIA had loud tick to the motor. Contacted Jeff Belzers the following day. They gave me no help said they would get back to me. I had to climb the ladder. Still no help on the issue. On February 9th I took it in to Bill Barth of Mandan. They contacted KIA, ran the tests that was necessary, the KIA only had 1000 miles on it, was a brand new 2014 Kia. Came back they found that the motor wasnt bored out and cleaned out right. So the motor has to be changed out and replaced. Been calling KIA affairs since January 13th 2015 now it is January 27th still the run around. Being passed through their agents having a car that Im paying for that I cant drive. It has been over a month so KIA customer affairs are no help. They arent doing the job for the customer.

I bought a 2010 Kia Rio at the end of September. I havent had the car for two full months yet. I only have made one payment on the car. Already, the car needed the breaks and the gas pedal fixed. First, the arm rest was missing and I was told that it would be ordered and be ready in a week. It took them two weeks to get it to me . Now, when I got in my car the other morning, my headlights wouldnt come on at all, only the high beams would work (Remember, I traded in a car that had headlights that did the same thing, thats why I got a new car.) When I turn on the air condition or the heater, the motor vibrates bad. I have spent two days on the phone with Kia, where I bought the car, to see that they get it fixed. I have been call-transferred here and there, I feel like I traveled the world. I was told to call and talk to the sales persons manager to see about getting me a loaner car until mine can be fixed. He told me he had to talk to the service manager and see what he says. He told me to call back in 15 minutes so he could go and talk to the service manager. I did call back and they want to tell me he is in a meeting. No, I think your avoiding my call. I have called 3 more times and could never get him on the phone. Well, the last option is for me to go and explain everything in person since I cant get anything done over the phone. I live an hour and 15 minutes away . I am a divorced 28-year-old parent of one. I need a car, I work 50 hours a week and go to school 3 times out of a week. If nothing is done soon, I am going up over everyones head. This is truly **. I regret getting a KIA

I purchased a new 2011 Sorento against my better judgment, knowing a first year production is always problem prone. But I have had purchased many Hyundais in the past, and was used to great service, and knowing its the same company, I expected the same quality (WRONG). Coleman Kia in Ewing NJ has the most lying area manager and service department in the nation. They charge repairs to Kia, that they never repair, or even look at. Case at point: Ive had a bad door rattle in the passenger side door since purchase. Ive had the vehicle in for service for 5 times and the repair was charged but never done. The last time, I placed tape under the door to know rather, or not the door panel was opened. And guess what the service manager stated? The door was repaired but the tape was never touched. Enough said. Never, ever, again, would I ever purchase another Kia. My door still annoying like a rattle snake. But how does Kia allow itself to be continued to be ripped off. I would like to still have my door repaired, only 40,000 miles.

KIA has stated that everything refers back to the Owners Manual for everything. However when you buy a vehicle brand new an individual is not given a copy of the owners manual to read prior to buying the vehicle. In trying to get my blown motor covered by the warranty, I have found out that if you do your own oil changes a person is supposed to keep all of their receipts and put them in the manual. Not all people are of the personality to keep all receipts so this is not an excuse for them to deny the coverage of the warranty. I took the vehicle into the dealership because it had a problem in Feb. and they said it was low on oil at that time and that was the problem. Only a vehicle with 28K miles should not be low on oil when the last oil change happened at 24,830. Now at 33K the engine is blown and KIA is refusing to honor the warranty because they are saying it was a lack of maintenance.

I would like to voice out my frustration over Kias employees (**) unprofessionalism. My Rio Ex Sedan, Manual 2813AP13 had perhaps wheel alignment issues, the original fit Hankook tires were worn out in 25200 km. I contacted Kia Forbach on Wednesday 29th October 2014 (8:58am) and told the person concerned that Ill come over to Forbach around noon for tire inspection. ** was not there but the mechanic advised me to replace all the 4 tires immediately. Within a couple of hours, I had the Rio fitted with 4 Michelin tires. Same day (12:24pm) I requested ** to fix an appointment for me for wheel alignment at Kia Pailles for Monday 3rd November 2014, he said hell do it. On Monday 3rd November when I reached Kia Pailles with my toddler and wife, grand was my disappointment, anger and frustration when I was told that no appointment has been booked for my car for wheel alignment. How unprofessional! I took leave from my place of work for wheel alignment, drove all the way from Goodlands to Pailles for nothing. Is it my fault? Do you think I am fond of wasting my time and money for nothing? When I bought my Rio for R725,000/- I was not given even 1 cent of discount. I cannot tolerate unprofessional behaviour; one lady at Pailles kept me waiting for almost 2 hours, she told me that she is trying to help and possibly Ill have to wait till 5 pm for wheel alignment! Am I mad or are you guys mad? Did I come over to Kia Pailles with my 2 year son and wife to have fun/picnic? And in the midst of all, it is me who is being penalized. I took leave from work, wasted money on fuel for a service which I never received. Who will compensate me? In other countries like USA and UK Kia dealers compensate customers who have been wronged in the name of customer satisfaction. I am not a happy customer and I am waiting to hear from you what you intend to do for me? Kindly dont consider this as a threat, but I am determined to go ahead and inform Kia Worldwide and customer forums about my horrible experience with Kia Mauritius unless I get satisfaction. When I am paying for goods and services I expect the latter to be of acceptable standards. Neither ** nor any personnel of Kia Mauritius came forward and apologized for such humiliating/embarrassing treatment to me!

I recently moved to Denver, CO from Sioux City, IA. I was offered a great position at a new job here and had to accept it. I own a home in Sioux City and rented it out right away to move and start my job on December 5, 2015. Everything was going great here with the move and job and I was adjusting quickly. My brother in law and sister in law live here so having family here helped with move. The beginning of January came and my mother in law decided she wanted to visit for Christmas. My sister in law let me use her car to go pick her mother up but only after she had the oil changed on her vehicle. I also decided to have the oil changed in my 2012 Kia Sorento as driving all the miles back and forth to Iowa over the past few months with the move had put me at being due for an oil change. I planned on going to get it changed at the dealership as I had always done, but wanted/needed it done quickly, so decided to go to Jiffy Lube (#901 ran by Southwest Lubrication, Inc.) 8100 Crestline Ave Unit E-2 Littleton, CO 80123 (303) 933-9319. I went on January 8th, 2016 at 1:30 in the afternoon. They were not very busy, and were able to get me in quickly. They did their standard routine as far as letting me know what needed/should be done and their different classifications of oil changes. I chose the Signature Service as they recommended due to my vehicle being of foreign nature. I also had them replace the air filter as they recommended after showing me the old one. I was only there for about 45 minutes to an hour, it did not take them long to complete, paid for the service and was on my way. This is where things started to happen. The past few months, (November-current) my vehicle had been making a squeaking noise coming from the brakes, as they also needed to be replaced, but not to the point yet of absolutely having to have this done. On January 10th, two days after the oil change at Jiffy Lube, I noticed a noise not like the squeaking of the brakes, but more like plastic flapping or something with a belt or fan blade. I was only assuming these were what these noises could be as I have heard them before on previously owned vehicles and friends vehicles. The noise was bad up until the vehicle reached 30-40 mph or about 2 on the RPM scale in the dashboard. I drove to and from work at Advance America, which is about 6 miles from my home, so about a 12 mile round trip. I did this from January 11-13. I drove the vehicle to my sister in laws on January 14th, which is about 20 miles from my home, where it stayed parked for 24 hours while I took her vehicle to pick up her mother in Sioux Falls, SD. After I returned the next day, January 15, I picked up my vehicle and went to work where I did marketing, which involved driving my vehicle around to distribute flyers. This added an additional 50+ miles to my vehicle. January 16 I also went to work, round trip of about 12 miles. The 17th, I used my sister in law vehicle to return my mother in law home. My car sat for another 24 hours as I did this. The next day, the 18th I did not have work due to the holiday, but noticed the noise was getting worse. The evening of the 18th my brother in law had a friend come over to their home, where I was at the time, to check out my vehicle. We first started the vehicle and drove around the parking lot and down the street so he could hear the noise. My brother in laws friend is NOT a mechanic but his brother is and he has been around cars his whole life, so I thought he would be able to quickly tell what was wrong and recommend what to do. After we returned to the parking lot, we opened the hood so he could look at that and check the oil, basic things everyone does with a car. We pulled the dipstick and there was absolutely NO oil on the end. We did this a couple times to verify it was correct in showing no oil. My brother in law unscrewed the cap of where the oil filter is housed to make sure there was one, he did this only after I told him to. There was a filter but no oil really on said filter. We screwed the cap back on the filter housing and examined around everything further to notice what looked to be oil covering most everywhere under the engine in the engine compartment. At this point I/they decided that I needed to go to the dealership to have it looked at further. We added 2 quarts of oil to make sure there was enough for me to get home and then to the dealership as soon as possible. I took my vehicle to Peak Kia Littleton 5077 S Wadsworth Way Littleton, CO 80123 (303) 904-7806 and spoke with **, the service adviser there. I did this on January 20th and he recommended and said the next step would be to have a diagnostic test done. The next available time to do this was Thursday January 21st. I was there right away on Thursday morning for the test as I had to be to work by 10 am. The test took longer than expected and I called my work and this was fine with them to show up a couple hours late due to this appointment. I ended up calling into work that day because the testing took longer than expected and that was due to Kia informing me that they had looked and done everything as far as they could diagnostic wise and advised me that my engine was done for and would need to be completely replaced. I immediately thought it was something Jiffy Lube had done and called and informed them I would be looking into this further and also would be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, which I did. The complaint number is **. I have not heard anything back yet from this complaint. I was then contacted back by Jiffy Lube to get more information from me and the manager there said he was investigating this. A few hours went by and the Jiffy Lube manager called to inform me that after reviewing their tapes and speaking with the service techs, that they did nothing wrong and everything had been done correctly. I did not agree and asked for their corporate number which he gave as their location number and for his bosses contact information. This location is owned as a franchise and the franchise owner just happened to be there at this time. He got on the phone, introduced himself as Doug ** owner/operator, and I explained what was going on to him. He informed me he would do his best to help resolve this and offered to go to the Kia dealership to take a look for himself and see what he could see. He spoke with the service people at the dealership and after he was done with that, informed me that he and they had come to the conclusion that the oil was coming from somewhere other than the filter housing. I do not know much of anything about auto parts or things like this as I explained to him and he told me it was basically between Kia and I, and that it was something faulty with the vehicle, and being under warranty should be covered and fixed by Kia. At this point, I figured that it could possibly be something wrong with the vehicle itself, because since I purchased it brand new in 2012, I had been to the dealership in Sioux City, IA many times with several different issues that they fixed and replaced under warranty. I contacted the Kia dealership in Littleton, Peak Kia, and spoke with ** once again. I told him what Doug from Jiffy Lube had told me and he informed me that it was NOT something that they did and said it was something that happened with or at Jiffy Lube. I told him I wasnt saying that it was something they had just recently done, but could be something with that particular vehicle as I had had numerous things done and fixed prior to moving here. When it came down to it, he told me that it would be $345.00 for them to tear down the engine to find out what the real problem was. I already owed/owe them (Peak Kia) $115 for the diagnostic test and did not have the extra money to pay the $345 to pay to do this to either find out if was something wrong with the vehicle, then they would refund me and it would be covered by warranty, OR it would be something Jiffy Lube did and would NOT be covered by warranty and I would be out there $345 and would have to pay OVER $8000 for a new engine. I did not/do not have the $345 to pay for then engine tear down since I lost my job due to NOT having reliable transportation, a requirement of my position there. They gave me the choice of either resigning or they would have to fire me since I was still in training and was losing my means of transportation. I chose to resign on January 22nd after working half the day and discussing all of these details with my boss. ** at Kia had told me, that day, Friday the 22nd of January that my vehicle was not drivable, and if I did, my engine would definitely seize up. I have left it sitting there at the dealership since. I have been back and forth with both Jiffy Lube and Kia, have filed a complaint with the BBB, tried to go and file a small claims case but after discussing with them the cost of an engine, advised that Colorado law on small claims limits at $7500 and it will be much more to fix my vehicle not to mention my loss of employment and now I am about to be evicted because I have no income. I have tried to contact numerous lawyers and other offices for assistance on what to do and how to find an attorney, but have not gotten anywhere yet. I have been in contact with a radio talk show and have been on the air with Tom Martino, who assists in consumer affairs, and has been helpful so far, but I think I need to hire an attorney or someone to help me with this. I know this is a VERY long plea for assistance, but wanted whomever read it to be fully aware of my situation so I could get some direction on where to go from here. ANY information you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Again thank you for reading this and I hope to hear from someone soon!!

I bought my 2014 Kia Soul Plus brand new. It only had 5k miles on it when I purchase it. I have had nothing but issues with the gas mileage for this vehicle and have complained to the car dealership that I bought the car from several times. It had gotten so bad in fact that at one point, everytime I filled the tank I took pictures of the on dash information and wrote the mileage on my gas receipts to prove to Kia that this is in fact a problem. The estimated gas mileage for this car is supposed to be around 23 miles to the gallon in the city. I am lucky if I am getting 15 mpg.Point in case I filled the car completely up on Monday. Went 100 miles in the car and had to fill it up again the next day! Now I dont mean it was sitting at a half or a 1/4 when I had to refill, I mean the gas light was on. There was 5 lines across the dash that displays the gas average. I took it into Kia this morning only to be told there is nothing wrong with it, just as they have told me for the past 5 months of owning this car. This is an on going problem for sure. The range on the gas meter will read a different amount each time it is filled. One moment it may say that I have 283 miles until empty, then the next fill up it will tell me I have 227 miles to empty. I am not sure what is going on here and KIA will not allow me to take it to another mechanic shop. If I do they say they will void all of my warranties that I purchased. So I am stuck with a gas guzzling lemon. What do I do?

I am seeing a lot of these comment and thinking they are really over exaggerated. When you go through like 5 or 6 cars in a year or so my thought is what are you doing to each of those cars to ruin them. I bought my 2012 Kia Soul brand new with less than 12 miles on it. I had o e sensor go out about a year after I bought it and the dealership replaced it through my warranty with no issues. Other than, that it is great. Great sound, quiet, good get up and go (2.0 engine) and it fits a lot in it. If you do a lot of hauling get an suv but even with the seats up I can still get a lot in. It has 36000 miles now and still going strong. Highly recommend Kia. EVERYONE I know that has one loves it.

Are you thinking of buying a 2011 or 2012 Kia Sorento? Forget it! My wife and I are both professionals who depend on our cars to get to work every day without fail. My wife is a pharmacist and I am an attorney. We are both in our 50s. In early 2010, we bought a 2011 Kia Sorento primarily because of the push-button ignition feature. My wife has advanced arthritis and the Honda Element she had been driving was hard for her to change gears with its dash-mounted shifter with the button on the thumb-side of the stick. We bought a brand new 2011 Kia Sorento from Lee Kia in Fort Walton Beach, Florida for under $26,000 financed through our credit union. The car performed well until 2 months ago, when we took it to the same dealer for a service recall we had gotten in the mail. When the car came back from the dealer, my wife said it was slow starting when she depressed the brake and pressed the push button ignition. On Monday, 7/18/11, the car would not start at all. It was completely dead. It then had 25,000 miles on it. I called Kia Roadside Assistance and they came and towed it to the same dealership that had done the recall work.It has been in the shop ever since then (18 days). I would repeatedly call the Service Department and speak with their manager Joe, who acted like he was annoyed at having to tell us anything! We were given a rental in the meantime at Kias expense, but this week they said they need a part that they cannot get and they have no idea when we will get the part back! I called the local General Manager at the beginning of this week. He was asked to call me back during the noon hour on my cell, but instead called me at 9:10 AM when I was in court and unavailable.I called and left messages for him the same day, but he did not return my call for 2 days. He then said that even though the car is built in Georgia – 6 hours from where we live here in Florida – his parts receiving facility in Atlanta was where he got his parts from and they did not have the part, a brake light component. In the meantime someone at the dealership told my wife that the problem with the push button ignition is endemic to Kia Sorentos, and they are trying to fix the Sorentos rolling off the line in Georgia with this problem now before they hit the public! So much for the security of buying a Korean car made in the USA. I told this to the local General Manager and his comment was that sounds like a story from the trenches, Ill check into it(!). The rental car we were given was a Ford fusion, low to the ground, which my wife cannot drive because she has a hip replacement. I told the General Manager this and he said he would have someone call the rental car agency to switch us out to something that rode higher. This was 2 days ago. That afternoon, the Service Manager Joe called and said he was trying to get us into another rental.I got tired of waiting for anyone to help us and 24 hours ago went to the rental car place and got put into another rental within 15 minutes of stopping by their office. I called the Service Manager after I left in the new rental and his sad story was he was still working on trying to find me another rental. I told him it would be nice if he would just call me daily with an update on the repair and the needed part. He said he would (this was at 3:30 PM yesterday). As of today at 1:30PM he has not called or left a message. Oh yeah, and when I called him earlier over 2 weeks ago, I was told I just got in. I have no idea what the status of your car is! This was at 7:35 AM (they open at 7:30AM) after no calls had been made to us the entire preceding day. Gee, sorry to distract you from chomping into that creme-filled doughnut buddy! As soon as we get this car back, if we ever do, I am running to replace it with a reliable Honda. If not repairable after 30 days I will be seeking an attorney to sue the company and the dealership for breach of warranties and fraud, under the Florida Lemon Law Act and any other cause of action that fits. Stay tuned.

I purchased a 2017 Kia Sorento brand new last year. Up until this point I was happy with my purchase and have enjoyed the vehicle. But recently I took a highway trip (car now has 19,000 miles) and it started to develop a problem with sticky steering at higher speeds. Very difficult to maintain position in the lane. My husband asked me why I was jerking the car so much, but thats what it took to keep the vehicle in the lane. I was so concerned with safety that I sacrificed part of my vacation sitting in a repair shop having them go over the front end. I was told there was nothing to check because the steering is electronic, not hydraulic. Hoping the car was safe to drive I returned home and immediately had my dealer check the problem. The dealer said there was nothing wrong and nothing to check diagnostically. Come back when it happens again, the manager said. Since then it has happened nearly every time I drive above 50 mph. After doing some research I have found this is a common problem for which KIA has no fix. Very sorry I purchased this car because not only does KIA not care about the problem, its been around for a while and they have done nothing to correct it. Time to go buy a Honda.

Kia 2013 Optima Hybrid: 7/17/2015 - Drivers side rear passenger tire blowout on 405 freeway, exit 18. 7am, Costco Fountain Valley, had air pressure check. Got on the freeway and had a blowout. I rotate tires and have tires inspected every 6 months. I have about 28k mileage, the tire was rated 9 on inspection. I was very upset because I nearly got killed if not for the kindness of this lady who blocked traffic and escorted me to the shoulder. The previous week, I had my car inspected and I had a slow leak on the side. The Kia dealer suggested I replace the tire. First blow out, I manage to get car to Pep Boys and got a replacement tire. To my horror, I found out I did not have a spare tire. The blow up patch was useless. I asked Pep Boy what was the cause. They said NO nails or apparent cause. I replace tires with same type. I thought it was ODD that a new tire on a new car would blow up (I purchased my Kia Feb 2014). In less than a year, I had to replace a tire. When 2nd tire blow out happened, I decided to replace all four tires with Bridgestone. I dont know about you but replacing 3/4 tires on a relatively new car is unheard of in all my years of driving. I have had tires lasting me 70-75 miles. The shredded tires fell apart around the whole seam of the car in inner circle just above the rims.

I took my 2015 Kia Rio into the dealership to have an electrical issue with my front passenger turn signal taken care of and was told that because the headlight assembly was cracked from the INSIDE, it was not covered under warranty. Now, I dont trust these weasels one iota, so I went in and look at this purported damage myself. What I found was a small crack in the plastic INSIDE of a capped off port, alongside a missing turn signal electrical contact. They claim that this damage indicates user fault and isnt covered under warranty. They further explained that because the car has damage on the front bumper (which is actually a minuscule scratch on the right wheel well that doesnt even reach the headlight) this indicates that impact damage was the probable cause. Now tell me, even if I somehow managed to hit something and miraculously avoid any damage to my front bumper or headlight or grill or anything else in the vicinity of the headlight assembly save for the aforementioned tiny scratch, how in the hell would I then have impacted hard enough to crack a tiny piece of plastic nestled deep inside of an assembly? No, the more logical conclusion is that this is a cheap piece of ** part on a cheap piece of ** car that this cheap piece of ** company will do anything to avoid having to own up to and pay for. Id recommend coughing up for a more quality vehicle from a more reputable and consumer friendly automaker. As it has become clear to me, KIA is neither of those things.

First I had to replace the clutch in my 2012 Kia soul ($700.00) and it had less than 70k miles. So I just happen to google the problem and its one of the top problems with the cars and Kia is debating or may have already quit with the production. This was 2 months ago. Now my wheel bearings are needing replaced? My soul has 70022 miles and I am so annoyed with the warranty not that it would have helped - I bought it 1000 miles used... give me a break. I am going to get in touch with consumeraffairs. This is ridiculous.

I bought a KIA Rio because I needed a car and first they charged me way too much around 10,000 dollars for it when it had 55,000 miles on it and on Kelly blue books, it only cost 5,000. I had it for a few days and the starter went, they fixed it but then about 2 weeks later the starter went again. This little car has problems kicking into gear as well. To me it is not a safe car and when driving it I feel as though it is a deathtrap. I will never buy a KIA ever again, I would like to get rid of it but unfortunately I am stuck with a payment. So if anyone knows how I can get rid of this junk car, please let me know. But KIA is definitely not safe rated for me.

My wife was driving down the road and our 2011 Kia Sorento just shut off. She barely made it to the side off the road. When she tried starting it back up the starter fried. We replaced the starter change the oil and air filter along with putting synthetic oil in it. It has always had a whining noise when you drove it and now it has a peck in the motor. Dont know whats going on but cant afford to take it back to the dealership. Does anyone know what the problem could be. Im just disgusting with this car.

In 2010, I brought a new Kia Forte koup. I love my car. I NEVER HAD A PROBLEM OUT OF THAT CAR. But I broke my back and could not do the low cars getting in and out of them. So I went to Kia and traded on 11-2-13 for a 2014 Kia Sorento. Well, things went down hill. 1st week, had to go back and they had to do a 4 wheel alignment. Then the door handle fell apart. Went back, had that put on, then it fell apart again. The back doors had a gap in them were you could put half your hand in them. Well, after going back every Saturday for 6 weeks, GM had me come in to change car out. But every 2014 Sorento on the lot had same problems. Then I traded for a 2013 Kia Soul. Up till now, no problem till yesterday. When am going down road and a piece of my car comes off and almost hit 2 other cars. So I have had to send this morning at the dealer again. If it was not for service lady where I go, I would have already went crazy on people. I WILL NEVER EVER BUY OTHER KIA AGAIN WHEN I TRADE THIS ONE IN!!!!!! !

How do you think I or anyone watching would feel if Ford Chevy or Toyota, Coke, etc., used language such as that used in your commercial last night. Which so called genius, I wanted to use a worse word, decided to use one of the most profane word sets in the English language as a descriptor of your product. Bought my 2015 Kia Sorento in March of 2017 and have had problems with it pretty much right away. Started with my key fob. The driver door does not recognize my key fob and I have to either open the passenger door to unlock my car or hit the fob multiple times before the drivers door opens. Ive replaced the batteries and it hasnt helped. My alternator dies at 66K miles, which I thought was ridiculous. I called Kia to see if they would grant any good will since I was out of warranty and they did nothing. Claimed they couldnt help since I was the 2nd owner. In my opinion, it shouldnt matter if Im the 2nd or 5th owner. The car only had 66k miles on it and the car was bought from a Kia Dealership in Buford, GA. From a dealership, it wasnt a private sale. No reason other than Kia is garbage that an alternator should die at 66k miles. And now, my window doesnt work. I rolled down the passenger side window this morning and it wont go back up. Im bringing it somewhere to get it looked at, not Kia. It looks like the motor is no good. Of course it is, its a Kia. Well, Ive learned my lesson with Kia cars and hope you will learn from this review. DO NOT BUY KIA!

I have never experienced overcharges to this degree — house, other cars, etc. I contacted KIA Finance on four occasions over three months to no avail. I was promised everything from the “check’s in the mail” to “no record that no check was ever issued” to “a refund in 30 days or sooner” to a “customer complaint has been opened.” Neither CSRs or supervisors were able to make anything positive happen. KIA makes a good car, but your experience with them as a company will be TERRIBLE. KIA delayed (by several months) applying the payoff amount to my old Sorento I sold to them, after I purchased a new one. This ruined my credit because KIA falsely claimed I did not turn in the car and never paid the last payment. This was all lies that they sent to the credit reporting agency. Customer service only transferred me to collections -on a car KIA purchased from me months ago. No one cared to listen or help. I resorted to a consumer lawyer and will hopefully get this resolved. After I involved a lawyer, I started getting letters from KIA in the mail stating I owed money from leased KIAs I had years and years ago. I will never buy from KIA ever again. They will take your money and keep taking, and when they do not apply it to your account, they turn you in to collections.

Turned the engine off and back on the radio, still would not turn off or allow me to change the volume or station. Drove by the dealership (of course service department was closed) and showed the salesmen what was going on. They had no clue as to why this was occurring or how to fix it. Suggested I bring the car back in on Monday to have it looked at. Also the following day, the cruise control would not work. Not sure if this is a fuse issue or what.

I bought a new 60,000 dollar vehicle Kia Sorrento, I have had to boost it first thing in morning, I have had to boost it when out shopping in parking lot. I went into Kia and they said they would charge me 140 if they could find nothing wrong. I should not be charged anything as there is definitely something wrong. Sorrento is loaded and they said if youre using a lot of things in car it takes 18 to 20 minutes to charge battery back up. I boosted it yesterday in parking lot of bed, bath and beyond drove around 20 min, came home parked it, just went out to start it dead again. I think either battery is not big enough to have enough reserve power or parasitic drain or it’s not fully charging (not my fault).Yesterday the light over the button for locking door went out. As I said vehicle is new under 12000 kilometres. I think it is terrible youre dead in the water after you buy a 60000 dollar vehicle. Rating: Poor. When I decided to purchase a 2012 Kia Sorento, I spoke with the dealership several times in order to make it a quick and easy transaction. I spent six hours sitting in the waiting room of the dealership. This should have been my first clue! When I arrived home and reviewed the paperwork, I discovered that instead of taking off the amount of my trade in and downpayment, they added it. I was overcharged $10,000. After contacting the Kia finance department and not getting any answers, just excuses, we contacted the attorney general and our attorney. I feel that I was discriminated against and taken advantage of because I am a woman. I have had nothing but trouble with the vehicle since I got it. The headlights wouldnt shut off and after spending 5 hours at the service center, was told that a part would be there in 2-3 days. They offered to give us a ride home or let us drive the vehicle and continue unhooking the battery each time we parked the vehicle. My husband had to get pretty nasty with them in order for them to give us a loaner car. They stated that they didnt have any, but offered to rent one from a rental company. At that time, I also explained that the headrest had fallen off. They didnt even get that fixed! When I returned to pick up my car, they had to program the keyless remotes, and now they dont work. I would never recommend a Kia to anyone, nor will I ever purchase another one.

Have you ever had to replace a radio in the first 3 years of the cars life? Unbelievable! Took it to the dealership, and we were over the warranty by 2,000 miles. Back to the original question - Have you ever had to replace a radio within the first three years? Let me take this one step further - have you ever had to replace a radio... period? From my own personal experience of over thirty years of car ownership, I can say with great confidence the answer is NO on both counts... that is until I owned a Kia. Before you purchase this car, consider the possibility that they stock it with POS electronics that will go up shortly after the warranty expires. Oh, almost forgot the cost for a replacement of the POS radio is $2,000. You did not misread that quote. $2,000 to replace something that will likely go up in another three years. Before you think of buying Kia, look elsewhere for manufacturers that are willing to stand behind their product!

On Wednesday, October 31, my Kia Picanto broke down. It was towed to Kia in Alberton (arrived 09:30). I had called Bennie and arranged. He said they might not have a chance to look at it the same day, which I understood. The following day (Thursday, around 15:00) I had to call Bennie back to find out what was happening with my car. He told me they were stripping it and they were suspecting the crankshaft. The following day (Friday, around 15:00), I had to call back! Now Bennie was on leave. I asked to speak to the principal as I was not happy with the service. No one was getting back to me and now my car is standing while hes on leave? I spoke to Jaco, who promised he would find out and call me back. Paul called me back. They were putting in the warranty claim and I would have an answer by Monday. I asked for a loan car and Paul said I should contact Kia SA. Monday I contacted Kia SA as I still have had no call from Alberton. I asked for a loan car and told Jessica about my issues. Jessica said its up to the dealer to provide a loan car. She will call me back. Tuesday Sean called me and said they sent my claim on Monday. I then called Kia SA and spoke to Brendon. Both Jessica and Brendon have not returned the calls!

When I got into the car again to go home, it seemed to run fine. Then when almost home it did it again. I was luckily close to a Les Schwab who said it was my brake lining, which had broken in half. They said that it has been happening to 2003 to 2005 Kias, they had three just last week. They wanted me to pay $8,000 for a new engine which I will not do. I researched Kias record and found all over the country complaints of not honoring warranties - Kia of Bedford had 81. When I talked to Kias Customer Service Manager, Ms. **, she was nasty and unconcerned and offered as goodwill - yeah right - to pay half and I pay half. I will not. I am trading that car in and will not ever, ever purchase a car from Kia.

I purchased a 2008 KIA rondo in 2012 with 19,000 miles on it from a Kia dealership. We are now into 2015 with 51,000 miles and the engine is locked up! All I can say is they make really crap cars for an engine to lock up at 51k. I took great care of my car, getting all oil changes and services done on time. I will never buy another Kia and I will steer anyone I know from Kia as well.

I arrived to Kia at 8 am on Saturday 2-18/17 because my car was making noises when I pressed on the brakes. After 2 hours the rep came to the waiting room to speak to another customer and when finished he yelled across the room at me maam your car probably needs brakes then walked off...duh. I told them that when I got there. After another 30 min the same guy came to me stating my car needed brakes and they dont have them and it will be a few days before they can get them. My options are 1. drive away and come back in a few days to have my brakes changed and try not to drive too much because if additional parts go bad I will have to pay a lot more and they may not have all the parts...they really told me that. 2. Pay for a rental car until the parts come in and they can get replaced. They refused to get me a liner at no fee. 3. They could order some brakes from the auto parts store nearby and use them, but they may be noisy and not last. Wtf. I drive a Kia Sorento 2014, I come to KIA to get KIA parts. This is the first and last time I come here. So horrible.

I purchased my Kia Soul in 2015 at Kia Of Asheville in February of 2015. I havent had any problems until this morning. I was coming back from vacation & I was an hour away from home. While going up a mountain, all of a sudden my clutch started shifting on its own without me even putting the clutch in (The engine light didnt come on either) then there was a strong burning rubber smell in the car so I pulled over turned off my car & turn the hazard lights on and called my mother-in-law. A few minutes into our conversation my hazard lights died and I could not start the car. I called Kia roadside assistance and they came and picked me up and took me to the Kia dealership where I purchased my vehicle in 2015.I have been driving manual transmissions for more than 20 years, my last vehicle the clutch lasted almost 6 years before needing replaced. I have never had my clutch and battery go out at the same time. Kia of Asheville is saying that its not covered under Warranty but they need to get into the transmission to know for sure which will cost more money! They called me back with a worse scenario cost of $1500 unless its caused by something under the warranty. But Why would I buy a battery from Kia if this one only lasted a little over two years? And what about the clutch!? Theres only 50,000 miles on my car & my clutch should of lasted at least 100,000. I know a clutch is a wearable part but its strange that the battery and clutch went out at the same time because theyre two separate entities.I think theres something else going on and Im afraid Kia is going to say the Warranty is not going to cover this. Has anyone else had this problem? Im reading all the horror stories about Kia and its got me convinced that I wont buy another Kia. I found out Kia & Honda have a lawsuit against them for the type of wiring they use. Did I make a mistake in buying my car?

Not even the extended warranty I purchased, at the time I purchased vehicle. Man was I ripped off. Be careful when and if you purchase a Kia! This vehicle has had over 20 major repairs and/or factory recalls in less than 60k miles at over $20,000.00 at retail. The problems are still there and they refused to resolve the issues during the last year of the warranty. I hired a lawyer and was paid for my inconveniences along with a promise in writing to repair the issues. I took it to a dealer and the factory Kia Service rep refused to inspect the vehicle. Paul ** is the National service manager and a pathological liar. This vehicle (and many other Kias) were given the lowest rating ever by J.D. Power and associates. In other words, they make very poor vehicles, using the cheapest of materials, and refuse to honor the written warranty. I am forwarding a substantial file to senior executive managers shortly to ensure that they are aware of the policy practices of staff like Paul, who is orchestrating fraud, with intent. This will also ensure the company cannot claim ignorance of the behavior of a rogue employee. It is clear this company is committing fraud on a massive scale and is well aware of this. Interestingly, Hyundai behaved in the same fashion, about 15/20 years ago, and were almost bankrupt as a result of consumer backlash. All the execs and directors were eventually fired. It is time for the same to happen to Kia execs. Hyundai owns the majority of Kia shares. It should be noted that Kia recalled 146,000 vehicles last years for airbags which did not work. My vehicle eventually got a similar recall (not included in the large recall). Kia and its dealers were aware of the airbag issues but refused to act upon it until they were forced to do so. In other words, they are responsible for possible deaths and/or serious injury to many people who trusted this company to behave ethically. They do not. They were aware of the airbag issues years before the recall was forced upon them. We need to start a large program to warn the world of this companys willingness to defraud and to injure without concern. If everyone starts talking on social media about the phony warranty and the inherent problems of all Kias - we will bring them to their knees - where they belong.

Recently our daughter left the overhead and parking lights on overnight, draining the battery. Normally that would not have been a big deal. However, the car was parked in a carport and COULD NOT be moved out of it to get a jump start because the car could NOT be taken out of Park into Neutral!!! It took about a dozen calls to find a service station that had a portable jump system to come out and get the 2014 Kia Sorento started, causing my wife to miss a doctors appointment.

My car has 52k miles and for some reason, the engine light came on one morning. I was driving to work and I was only a few blocks away from home so I return and asked my roommate if I can use his car to go to work while I take my KIA to the KIA service department. When I picked up my car, they told me the cars computer just needed an upgrade. I thought it was weird but I was happy it wasnt something worse. I automatically noticed a huge, I mean huge, drop in mpg. I bought the car because it was supposed to be good on mileage, otherwise I would have bought a Prius which was my other choice. I took it back the next day and they checked it and they said that they found nothing wrong. I was really upset. They gave me a pamphlet that I should read to show me how to get better gas mileage; I was really pissed. I know how to get the best gas mileage out of my car and I do regular oil changes using synthetic - nothing but the best and regular air filter changes everything. I went from getting between 33-37 mpg to 25-28. I am a very upset KIA own. I dont know what else to do.

Enterprise/Kia Auto World at 2520 Hempstead Tpke East Meadow NY 11554 (mechanic: Rich; contact person: Jamie), replaced the alternator. Nine months later, the alternator goes again. The car was taken to Hillside Kia 153 12 Hillside Ave., Jamaica NY 11432. THEY replaced the alternator. Nine months later, the alternator went again and I took the car to a mechanic on Merrick Blvd. on 109 St. Jamaica, NY because it was out of the warranty and AGAIN the alternator was replaced. Today 8/23/11, the alternator went again. I felt that the car that was sold to me from the start was a lemon and I was looking to pay this car off BUT now i feel that I have been taken advantaged of as a consumer and I am looking for assistance as a consumer from your agency.

Kia does NOT stand behind their 100,000 mile warranty at all. Bought 2006 Sedona new. Within 12k miles, both left and right turn signal lights going out all the time. Head lights burn out every other month. Front rotors and brakes need replaced, 12k and again and again. Bolts came up missing on sider door. Thermostat caused the check engine light to come on. NONE OF these item were covered! AC compressor went out twice, was fixed under warranty. At 60k, the Air bag light came on. Again not under warranty, 1500.00 to fix that. More headlights and turn signals all throughout the ownership of this Van. Rotors and brakes again. Blend door for AC and heat making a clicking sound in the dash. Valve covers leaking. Rattle and clunks in the front end now. Intermediate No start, No Crank, battery is good. All electrical items work with no crank no start. Found out this is a Junction box where all the wiring connect to along with the engine disable and key fob. Now the key fobs have to be reprogrammed at the dealer and they want anywhere from 52 to 80 dollars for that? This has to be one of the worst designed and most UNRELIABLE Brands on the road today.

This complaint is specific to Kia Motors Egypt. The vehicle, a 2010 model Cerato, rolled over 4 times and the airbags failed to deploy. The real tire on the passenger side burst, causing the above to occur. Kias website states the following: Ceratos standard safety protection includes dual front and side airbags, plus full length side curtain airbags to enhance the safety of driver and passenger side occupants in the event of a side impact or rollover. A Kia employee, whose name I shall not reveal, stated the following in a response: Kindly be informed that referring to your accident description and the photos you sent, the car rolled over without front impact. The front airbag system doesnt work in rollover accidents as you mentioned. The front airbag system was designed to work in the frontal accidents depending on the front impact circumstances. Kindly refer to the owners manual for non-working cases of front airbag system.

In August 2010, I bought a Sorento and a Cadenza, the former was for my wife. On July 3, my wife got involved in a car accident and the insurance company of the other driver is paying up for the damages (he was at fault). I drove the car to the Kia official garage in Salwa on the same day (after completing all formalities). The car suffered damage to both doors on the right and all side airbags opened, plus the drivers seat belt damaged. Well, it is September 13th and the car is still at the garage. Every time I call, they are still ordering parts. Either they are lying or they are totally incompetent. I talked to the manager yesterday. He was very apologetic and said he will call the repair center and come back to me immediately. I am still waiting. The car has clicked 9000km and should have been replaced as it is brand new. I am now planning to get rid of both cars and buy something different (the cars are good but the service is shameful).

This review is specific to Kias roadside service. Ive been very happy with my Kia vehicle. When I found myself needing a tow on a weekend night, Triple A phone wait times were 30+ minutes, but Kias roadside service responded right away. Apparently my policy had expired, but I said that I was willing to pay so that we could expedite this process and get me to a shop before it closed. At this time it was a bit before 7pm and the service center closed at 9pm, so I figured this wouldnt be a problem. Oh, how young and naive I was.First of all, after I hung up the phone with the representative, it took over an hour for some reason just for the Kia dispatch service to connect me with a towing service. I contacted an agent twice through the online chat system during this time and was both times given some generic message about how theyre working as fast as they can and your service is very important to us. Id like to add that Im in a major city, so its not like theres a shortage of tow companies around. THEN when they finally assigned me a tow company, I was told that my ETA for the tow truck to arrive was 45-60 minutes. Well, wouldnt you know it -- an hour goes by, and still no tow truck. This time I reach out to the tow truck company directly. He tells me that the driver got tied up with other tows but is now -- only just now! -- on his way over to me. Another hour goes by. Still no tow truck. Seattles big, but not that big. At this point the Kia service center is very, very closed. It takes another half hour just for the tow truck to arrive. During this time, Kia roadside assistance checks in a couple times -- once through a phone representative, and twice by text -- but each time when I tell them the tow truck still hasnt arrived, all they do is offer banal apologies and tell me my service matters. I understand that Kia roadside assistance only had so much control over the terrible tow truck company I was assigned. However, ultimately I ended up waiting over three and a half hours just for a simple tow job -- in the dark, by myself, in a part of town I didnt know well -- and Kia did nothing to help with this aside from offer meaningless phrases. No apology discount on service at their center, no attempt to find a faster tow service, nothing. Ill just stick with triple A next time; despite the initial long wait to speak with an agent, Ive never had such a ridiculous experience actually getting service from them.

KIA agreed to fix my car which is presumably under warranty. We agreed that they will cover the parts and I will cover the labor at $1,250. After doing the repairs, they are now saying that they will not honor the warranty! This is on top of the disappointment I have had with KIA. I still owe $1,661 on the vehicle and I am so frustrated that they are pulling this! I would have never agreed to having them repair the car, had they not agreed to honor the warranty, as I had a mechanic who is willing to do it at a much more reasonable cost!KIA is a rip off. They are crooks and are not trustworthy! My lawyer will be handling the matter from today; however, this still leaves me without transportation! Today, I will drop one of my classes that require me to travel to a distant campus for lack of transportation. I will most likely lose my job. And in the meantime, my car will sit at the KIA dealership because KIA will not honor the agreement they had with me! Shame, shame, I know your name! The magnet I just ordered to place on my car is in the shape of a lemon and it reads: Ask Me About My Lemon. Its a KIA, dude! Although it will be a while before I am able to drive my 2006 KIA Rio again, I will proudly sport it around town with my new bright yellow accessory added to its both sides. Never would I ever recommend a KIA to anyone I meet! I will tell everyone I know to never ever consider owning a KIA! Lets boycott KIA! I will post on my Facebook account and in other sites, put signs in my yard and give bumper stickers to all of my friends--whatever it takes to make people aware!

This pass Sunday I was driving on I-75 North to Gainsville to drop off my son for summer camp and the engine made a pull. Then all the sudden a big rattling noise. They need a paper sign from the District manager and I am getting the runaround. I see how it goes... When you step in the show room, they promise you bells and whistles. Then when the time comes up for them to pony up, they drag their feet. This is my last time I will purchase a KIA car or a new car. What is the point... I have had a terrible experience with Kia Motors and their Warranty Administrator. My 2012 Kia Sorento broke down during a 2 hour trip in November 2013. We had the vehicle towed over 50 miles (which Kia roadside assistance said they would not cover, but per the service dept/manager at the dealership all costs related to the breakdown would be covered) to a dealership that would service our vehicle on a Saturday located near our home. We had no choice as my wife and I share this vehicle and dont have any other means to travel to work. Rodeo Kia (the dealership) in Avondale, AZ has been very cooperative all along, and eventually (vehicle was in the shop for 1 week) the entire engine was replaced. But, we have yet to be refunded by the Warranty Administrator for the cost of the tow. Around $200.00. I am seriously disappointed as I have had to continuously contact the dealership to have this completed and I continue to receive answers in regards to blaming the Warranty Administrator. Ive been informed not only that the Warranty Administrator was changed, but that the dealership is now speaking with consumer affairs as well. This has been the most frustrating experience I have had as the problem continues to linger on.

I will start off with what everyone is thinking when reading these... Yes, I am only writing this because I am angry and if my experience was just normal I would probably not write anything, but they earned this. I am currently going through the passing of my mom and all the challenges that come with it. I returned her leased car 2 months early, even though she has multiple letters offering her deals to bring her car back early because it is in demand. Then I receive the bill in the mail weeks later advising she owes $950 for returning the car early and $65 for wear and tear which just seems made up. I attempted to discuss with them, but they said they would not talk to me if I am not on the account. I got the email to send the proof of what happened and sent in what was necessary. I sent it 3 times without any action. I called and finally got the one helpful person to help me with submitting these documents. A few days later I got a letter saying sorry for my loss and asking me what I plan on doing with the car. How is this not a joke? They had the car for over a month. I submitted a complaint to Kia America and after passing the 48 hour waiting period, I heard nothing. I just submitted an updated complaint as I just got another letter in the mail for my mom, thanking her for returning her car and another bill, as if they never interacted with me before. I guess they are playing ignorant to get to the strategy of what one of their workers said, Why dont you just ignore it for 120 days and then it will just go to collections. Thank you Kia, thank you for absolutely no help and adding more stress to the most stressful and sad time of my life.

My Kia Soul shifts out of gear and randomly does not start. It makes a buzzing sound at times, too. The Kia has been towed 4 times in 1 year. They suggested that maybe I dont know how to start my car properly (which includes 4 different tow truck drivers that dont know how to start it either!), but Im thinking that thats probably not the problem. For all of you people thinking of buying a Kia, read this. Bought a brand new 2012 Kia Sorento, not a demo, right out of the show room. At 800 km, head gasket had to be re-placed. At 1500 km, oil pan seal had to be replaced. At 2000 km, engine block had to be replaced. After arguing days with Kia Longueil and Kia Canada, we got them to replace the entire motor instead of re-building my engine. Then we went to pick up the truck and the electrical blew. Kia Canada does not stand behind their product at all! We requested to have the vehicle changed for a new one from the minute we started having these problems, and was told no but we will get free oil change. My truck that I paid over $40,000 for a new vehicle experience has been ruined by Kia Canada. I am now stuck with a hunk of junk. For my loss of time out of the office, anxiety and fear my truck will break down, Kia Canada offered me a free oil change. If I ever sell or trade in my truck which I will, what do I say when I am asked if any major repairs have been done to the vehicle? To my surprise Kia doesn’t stand behind their product. Too bad we do not have a lemon law in Canada. I would never buy a Kia again! If you research Kia Sorento, I am not the only person to have major problems with the vehicle or Kia Canada.Don’t buy a Kia!

Leased a Kia Sorento early 2016 brand new. No problems that I noticed other than the engine oil got dirty and more dirty every time it was changed. Shortly after my oil was changed the last time, the engine started making a clicking noise then it all of a sudden blew. Dark smoke came out the exhaust. The car cut back on long enough to get home then it didnt cut back on. Had Kia tow it to get maintenance only to have the warranty company refused to pay for repairs. I own a 2016 Kia Soul with only 650 miles on it, purchased 10-15-15. I purchased it with 8 miles on it but after 3 weeks of ownership, I HATE IT! Kia sucks and they should be bought and sold off to the lowest bidder. From day one after I put $5000 down on this piece of ** it has been acting weird and I cant return it without losing my Fn cash down payment. These are the problems I experienced so far... It gets poor gas mileage - not as advertised. Only gets 21 city and 25 hwy in a 1.6 liter 130 horse power 4 cylinder moped engine. It shifts funny. It takes off when you press the gas kind of shaky/jerky and rough. The braking in it is awful and jerks at the end of a stop. The road noise and engine noise is annoying and LOUD. The idling at a stop sign or traffic light is much the same as a Harley motorcycle - shaky as hell. The dome lights cuts off when they want to and finally the pick up/take off is slower than a riding lawn mower and just as sketchy. My biggest problem is I was told 1 week after I purchased the car, all new cars will come with backup camera which only the exclaim and plus had and when I went over to look at the new 2016s they all had tinted windows, backup cameras and touch screen display...1 fn week after I got mine and the dealers knew this before they sold me this piece of ** with no tint, camera or touch screen for the same price I would have paid for the additions. Im stuck with this ** and I cant do a thing. There should be a law against selling people lemons and wasting their time having to get a brand damned new car fixed. WTF KIA do you care at all about your ** cheap trashy ** product??? Im pissed off and should have kept my money in my pocket. 0 stars.

I had made mention to the sales manager, Nick **, after I had purchased my KIA Soul (2013) new(!) that I had this rough idling when I am at a stop light and/or a stop sign. I was told to make an appointment with their Service Dept. which I did on Jan. 10th. At first, I was told they couldnt find the issue (just idling, not in gear), but I explained to them they need to be in gear, drive it, and at a light - this would follow in just a minute. They did say that it did do this, and did a diagnosis to see if they could pinpoint the issue. But having to see what KIA would come back with, Bert who did this, the Dealership Crown KIA Service Dept told Matt who contacted me, that this was a normal operation for this type of engine? And now, nothing, it seems to be direct on how this was going to end or follow up for a fix and/or repair? Case # is ** and the contact person Ive been dealing with is Melinda. The dealership now tells me there is nothing to do or repair according to KIA manufacturer. Ive driven other Souls at other dealership, and they dont do this? Im just asking to have this fixed, as this is not the way the car should run.

I have had my 2013 Kia Sorento for 2 years and I have never had an issue with the car up until this far. Recently my fuel pump went out and as inconvenient as it was Kias customer service helped make the situation quick and cost free. Even though I was the second owner of the car, therefore voiding the Extended warranty, Kia still covered the repairs at no cost to me. Even though it was a holiday weekend they had me in a rental car the same day and even covered the entire cost for the week I had it. The customer service representatives were all extremely nice and very accommodating to our needs. I would recommend Kia to my friends and family and plan to get one for my fiancé in the future as well.

Should you choose to lease a Kia, and then choose NOT to continue business
Should you choose to lease a Kia, and then choose NOT to continue business with Kia at the end of the lease, they charge you $400 to take your business elsewhere. They also tacked on many other spurious fees. Id advise you to lease from another company who does not tack on that fee.

Why did my valve stem for my 2010 Kia Soul break? This will cost me $200.00
Why did my valve stem for my 2010 Kia Soul break? This will cost me $200.00 to replace. I love driving my little Kia. I was told Montgomery Kia/Chevrolet Preston Hwy Louisville KY personnel that, it is not covered under bumper to bumper warranty. They said that it is manufacturing defect and it was not broken by them. The stem is not covered by the warranty. A reason why it broke is that a long stem air hose chuck was used to replace the air. Individuals wiggling the long extension air chuck can bend and break off the computerized air valve. I believe in keeping good air pressure in my tires saves gas and tire wear. I believe that whether I had used or service attendant had used a shorted air stem chuck on this valve stem to this tire. It still would have broken off. And when the air hose extension chuck used on this tire, air hose was removed for air stem of this tire, the stem came with the extension chuck. This tire on the driver side front has several times registered air pressure was low on my dash lights the last six months. The tires on vehicles sometime lose air pressure. The weather changes from normal temperatures to lower cold temperatures.I was told by one of Montgomery Kia technicians that this is manufacturing defect of the company that makes this computerized valve air stem. While I was making an appointment with the dealership to replace the defective stem, the air stem on this tire had lost air pressure while my Kia Soul was in motion on the highway. This would be considered a blow out. As my Kia Soul was sitting still, the tire went flat immediately.I have very good records of service done on my Kia, which all recommends service checks have been done at Montgomery Kia. The manufacture defective valve stem broke and deflated at car service station. I had them replace the air stem with regular valve stem, which since 2008 most vehicles have this feature letting you know when tire pressure is low. This is a very good feature on my Kia. By the way, if anyone has a Hyundai 2008-2012, you have the same computerized valve stems in your tires like mine. Valve stem on a tire before 2008, you basically had to rip up the metal rim of a tire or unscrew the core of valve stem out for a tire to go flat, not because the valve stems were manufactured with defect parts. The computerized valve stem to me has alloyed (metal) fatigued. I believe in safe lighter vehicles, but you need dependable tires, rims and valve stems on the vehicles. If your engine blow-up, you will come to a rolling stop. If your computerized valve stems break on one your tires, you may be in an accident. If this manufacturing defect from a company that produced this computerized valve stem to me, should this be a recall from Kia. How many vehicles that are on the road that this company manufacturing defective computerized valve stems? How many Fords, Chevrolets, Hondas, Toyotas and Kia on the road today?

Theres a reason Kia and Hyundai have a bad rep around the auto world, and reliability is a pretty good contributor to that image. Bought a 2010 Sorento, not even 9 years old and at 60k miles suffered catastrophic engine failure. At first, engine stalled due to faulty MAF sensor, managed to bring the car back home in limp mode around 3 miles. Replaced it, started it up and after around a minute car starts shaking violently and oil spills out all over the floor. Lifted the engine to see if there was anything that could be a done and a piston had completely destroyed 2 cylinders. Called Kia about this and would cost more to repair than the cars worth. Had a very similar experience with a 2006 Optima, however bought that car used at 70k miles so it wasnt as big of a loss. I guess Im the idiot for thinking Kia/Hyundai reliability would have changed in that 4 year gap. If you want a car to at least 100k miles, stay as far away as humanly possible from these brands.

2003 Kia Sorento heater and lights in the center dash controls: I bought it
2003 Kia Sorento heater and lights in the center dash controls: I bought it brand new; second was sold in GA in 2002. The heater has never gotten hot or even warm. On cold days, it takes about 20 to 30 minutes of driving to get the inside of the car—bearable but still cold. It has been in the shop multiple times and the service department says nothing is wrong. If you turn the fan on more than low it will stay ice cold on the inside of the car forever. Also, on cold days (below 38 F) the center dash control lights will go completely off or cycle over and over very fast so there is no control over any of the functions until the lights settle down and stay on normally, which is when it gets warm (bearable, the chill is mostly not bad) in the car. This has occurred since it was a year old, but the problem with the heater not working kept our attention after sending it in for a couple of times on the light problem. I do like the fact that it still runs and drives good with all service work recommended being done on time most of it at Kia, although the oil and filter changes were done elsewhere most of the time unless it was scheduled for service work at the same time. I installed a new set of spark plugs and actually did a couple of oil and filter changes myself to make sure it could be done by me if needed. I kept all paperwork. We just gave up on the heater being broken and learned to live with it after 5 years or so went by, but these problems have never been fixed for even a minute. I’m totally dissatisfied with Kia service on these two problems. A few months ago, the crankshaft pulley bolt broke and stranded us at BJs Gas pumps in Cumming, GA on Saturday night on Thanksgiving weekend. So we had it towed to Kia Mall of GA where we bought it and had to raise Cain for 6 to 8 weeks before they finally reimbursed us for the tow because the bolt had been replaced on a recall notice at their service department in 2007, I believe. I have never had to spend so much money on service work to keep a warranty in force, but in the long run it has been worth it because I just picked it up after having to replace the electronic crankshaft and camshaft sensors at 92,000 miles and they did replace the leaking valve cover gaskets under warranty. I did have to shell out $1620.00 for this trip to the shop, replace all the belts and change out the anti-freeze. Hopefully, it will keep running without any further serious problems for a year or so to make this trip worthwhile economically. I would buy another Sorento, but I would definitely not accept any excuses about not correcting any type of problems such as the ones Ive had with this one. All in all, I am semi-satisfied with the Sorento. I have never kept an auto this long before except my 1998 Expedition and I have spent a whole lot less money on the upkeep for the Expy. It just loves gasoline so much I cannot afford to drive it much and it isnt worth much on the market to sell. So I will keep it around as long as possible and give it to one of my grandchildren one day if they want.
