There is a manufacturer defect at 57,700 miles. Premature failure of the balance shaft gear due to manufactured with poorly hardened metal. Mercedes Benz refused any help whatsoever for the $5,000 to $7,000 repair. If you own a 2003-2010 Mercedes Benz, better start saving your money up for the repair bill! Mercedes Benz says to Navy service member: We here at Mercedes Benz want to thank you for your service but since you arent the original owner and you havent had your car serviced at a Mercedes Benz dealer, we cannot participate financially. Wow! They cannot stand behind their product or the Mercedes Benz name either. They just hide behind a line of **! We just bought the car 9 months ago. I havent really had a chance to get it serviced at the dealer until the manufacturer defect showed up!

Great convertible car option in a German car. Very comfortable to drive, good electronics, sleek handling, good price compared to Porsche, easy and less expensive to maintain. Good resale value. Good Patel value. The warranty is good too.

I custom ordered a 2017 GLC and purchased it last summer. Initially we loved the car but there are certain issues that make the car dangerous in the rain and are highly irritating and ruin the driving experience of the car. The cars windshield wiper system is highly flawed. When driving in the rain, whether it is pouring or light rain, the windshield flutter very hard making driving in the rain unsafe, distracting, and highly irritating. The dealership replaced the blades twice before replacing the actual wiper arms. The problem persisted. Once it began raining more, they noticed more and more customers are bringing in their new 2017 models for the same problem. After testing their inventory, they finally advised us that it is a design flaw and there is nothing they can do unless Mercedes Benz issues a recall.I have attempted to contact Mercedes numerous times, but they are unresponsive. I have no idea what to do now. It is very distracting and dangerous to drive a car with wipers that stutter heavily. Finally, the car has electronic issues. Lights inside the car will go on or off on their own. The car will not lock at times. Bluetooth sometimes works, sometimes not. etc.

I purchased a 2014 ML350 Bluetec and had some problems with throttle responsiveness and transmission revving. After extensive technical servicing, the problem was not resolved. I decided to get rid of the vehicle and get another same model. Within weeks the exact same problem emerged. I contacted head office customer service to help resolve. They pushed it back to dealer who did everything they could however they still expected me to pay depreciation. There is a fundamental performance problem with this model. As a result, I had to get out of the first one where I took an out of pocket hit of $15,451.41 because of depreciation. Then I get into the same issue with 2nd model and as a result of having to get out of it much earlier than desired I am taking a depreciation hit of 23, 734.85. All in Mercedes is asking me to give them $39,186.26 because of a faulty product. This is my fundamental issue. They should be taking this vehicle off my hands without any penalty to me and working to retain my business. Why should I pay for manufacturer defect? I am not interested in paying another cent out of my pocket to resolve a Mercedes defect. I guess I will have to consider moving to Audi or BMW even though I like the ML product when it works properly. Its about the reasonableness principle and that is the foundation of any customer relationship.

I have 2003 Mercedes Benz CL 500. The AC stopped working after a leak. Right after that, the ESP light came on then the car stalled out, my radio unit stopped working and there was no sound. I went to the dealership and got a diagnostic test. They insisted that I replace the whole unit at $3500. I went to a small music shop and they changed the fuse. The sound works great now.

I have had 3 Mercedes previously but the Mercedes C200 CDI Estate is our first diesel. The fuel economy is excellent and as we do a lot of distance traveling we certainly enjoy the comfort and the road handling. Being an Estate find the loading space in the boot great for trips to Bunnings and for trips to the beach with grandchildren and dogs. Have already done 150 kilometres in 4 years and with regular servicing hope to get over 200 kilometres before replacing it.

I purchased a 2018 MB GLE 350 4 months ago with the expectation that the vehicle would have certain functioning amenities. WRONG!! I now own a $70,000 car that cannot even be started remotely because the Mercedes Me app NEVER works! I have to physically walk outside every morning and start the thing to warm up. I’ve called numerous times and am always told the app is down and being worked on. I’m sorry, but if this is true, they need better IT personal because millions of apps work perfectly well all the time. You will not receive any customer service and your level of frustration will increase exponentially with every call. The vehicle also lacks other ‘basic’ options such as a touchscreen radio/GPS, horrible voice recognition without your iPhone attached. (Thank God for Apple Play or the entire enter system would be basically useless!) The seat warmer and defroster does not come on automatically. On the rare occasion the remote start does work so after 10 minutes your windshield is still covered with ice, and I could go on with more issues but will stop there. I’ve always owned Jeep Grand Cherokees and wish more than anything I still did!!! Seriously, do not waste your money on a MB, read all the reviews carefully and save yourself the disappointment!

Bought a year old pre owned. In the 2 years of ownership I have only had 1 repair needed. And I drive more than 12k per year. Former car was a couple of 750LIS and they were in repair shop at least once a month for various small and pricey repairs. All were under warranty but I knew to offload them before warranty ran out. Build quality of the S550 is exceptional and without compromise. It is extremely comfortable and quite brisk. Would highly recommend it to anyone.

I have been driving cars for 20 years now and this has been the worst experience ever. I owned Fords, Fiat, Honda and all these cars were decently reliable. I bought a new GLC 300 2020 in Jan 2020 and two weeks later the car started with weird behaviors; it was suddenly off or the battery was completely drained; the driving experience was good. Then 500 miles into the car and it got suddenly broken. The car wont even start so I had to towed it into the dealership. Now they have found some core issues with the electronics of the car and will take them weeks to get it fixed. Make yourself a favor and stay away from this brand.

I purchased my Gla250 From Mercedes Benz in Ft Myers Florida 12/2014. I started having problems with my tire, bad smell in the car and a rattling noise. I have been to three Mercedes dealers, Ft Myers, Orlando and Naples trying to resolve these issues. I have also contacted customer service and nothing has been done. Dealing with Mercedes has been the worst experience ever. Mercedes Benz customer service does nothing to correct the issues. I am driving around a $40 luxury (supposedly) car, with a rattling sound that smells like crap inside. I assumed that Mercedes was a car manufacturer that stands behind their product but it is obviously not. My previous car was a Lexus and Mercedes can take lessons from them on Customer service. Whatever you do, DO NOT Buy Mercedes Brand!!! Consider any other car manufacturer. You will be sorry if you choose Mercedes.

I have replaced 3 tires on my C350 in the past 2 years or so. A blow out at 100km/hr on the highway and 2 tires that have bulges on the inside of the tire that needed to be replaced. I am told by a local tire specialist Fountain tire that I need to replace both tires on the rear and having spend a small fortune I am not prepared to do that. I was advised with low profile tires and the winters in Alberta that this is something I need to get used to and keep paying for replacement every couple of years. These are continental tires and I am considering changing brand and height profile of the tire... Pretty choke with being sold a 4matic that I love to drive but finding out the tires sold are not the right ones for our climate..

First I had to wait more than a year to get this vehicle. Paid over 155K for GL63 AMG. Its only a month since I took the delivery and half of the time it was at dealership due to some issue. I was shocked to see the cheap quality on this expensive toy. Side running boards are lose, front grill Mod is flimsy, rear fender plastic is falling apart. Looks like it was hanged by using some kind cheap double tape. I use to have S600L, was a beautiful and solid vehicle but I will say Im not impressed with my recent GL63.

My car, the GL450 4matic, has had steering column replaced, a recall for other same year 2008 GL450, but for some reason the recall did not apply to my particular vehicle in that year... Electrical between the lift gate and passenger windows and moonroof have gone out and been repaired more than once. Air sacs & front suspension both failed and replaced. All of this by 60,000 miles. My husband’s 2009 sl63 AMG has also had air suspension issues including needing to replace hoses that the mechanic said Mercedes is famous for. The coolant keeps disappearing and seems to be mixing with the oil through the head gasket on a car with 40,000 miles. Not only is this the worst craftsmanship Ive experienced, the dealership and service departments could not be worse in their customer service or concern to fix any problems. I would love to join anyone in holding Mercedes responsible for these repairs.

In June 2008, I bought Mercedes C 200 and until now the car did not reach 40,000 km as my use for the car is very limited (only for travel during weekends). All the regular services are usually done before the due time and only made in the official agent of Mercedes Benz in Cairo. On March 31, 2012 (last Saturday), I went to the agent German Auto Service (GAS) Heliopolis branch in Cairo to check why the car did not start properly. They found that the computer program required to be updated (which is normal and acceptable) and they found as well that the fuel float/pump is need to be changed as it might stop at any time. The senior engineer in the GAS (Mercedes agent) told me that this part should not malfunction with this few millage of the car (39000 km). He informed me that he will contact the company in Germany in order to change it for free or they might share in the cost. One hour later, the engineer came and said he is sorry, the company in Germany refused to do it and I have to pay the full 3,100 EGP. I refused to change and pay because I cannot believe that Mercedes Benz Corporation (considered number 1 worldwide) can accept not to take the responsibility of having short life part functioning properly for only 39000 km in its valuable and expensive products. I am bringing this to your attention and I am sure you will take the proper action to rectify this problem. Thank you.

I got a very nice Mercedes Benz new B Class - a demo vehicle that has less than 3k on it and its diesel. A reasonable price deal was agreed upon and according to the MB dealer, fuel filler would be sorted before collection. No chance. Two fuel flaps later and after they have collected (Greenoaks Slough) and put a chip on my windscreen, they cant fix it to get it fitting correctly. MB customer services wont do anything and say its the way the vehicle is designed. Yes. They do MB cars with bits that dont fit. This is my first MB, I am very pleased with the car but not the after sales. This is no better than a back street car lot with a second hand car salesman. I had a C class loan vehicle while they had a look at my vehicle and its fuel filler flap is just perfect. I know its a different model but the principle is the same. It also proves that MB cant do it right. Why, MB? Never again, Im afraid!

I had wonderful service whilst deciding whether to purchase an ML 250 BLUETEC AMG with premium pack model or replace my BMW with another BMW X5. I was contacted almost daily and looked after well with a good offer. I asked if the car had DAB radio (never expecting to be told that NO Mercedes cars come with DAB radio)! All cars have DAB radio, even basic starter cars!!! This was my main complaint all through my purchase, but was told I could connect my iPhone and listen to DAB. I was not overly happy but having liked the car and fancying a change from BMW purchased the car.My disappointment came when first using the car and finding that the equipment provided in the car was not compatible with my iPhone 6! I had to buy a converter!!!! Then, because of this the connection was not good and of course the connectivity keeps failing due to signal fall out!! I have never been so frustrated and nearly crashed the car fiddling with the equipment! I was unaware DAB was an optional extra AT 2,000!!!! Which I have since been told it will cost me. Customer service were not helpful, just telling me it was an option at purchase? I would happily exchange my Mercedes for a BMW given the chance. It has been a 6 weeks since I took delivery of the car and it looks like I will have to pay to have a conversation? Its a joke!!

Ive never had a worse telemarketing experience in my *life*. I received a letter from Mercedes mbrace saying my complimentary trial period for mbrace secure service would convert to a billed service (as Id expected) and I could call them to cancel that, so I did. After some of the usual Q&A, I told the guy to cancel it. He told me how great it is. I told him to cancel it. He told me how great it is again. After this went on a few more times I started saying just cancel it while he was still selling. He said I needed to hear why it was so great (not his words). This went on a few more times and I switched to say I want to speak to your manager. We went around with this a few more times while he continued to sell and I continued request his manager. Finally I told him one more time to cancel it and hung up.Then I called the number again, talked to a different agent, told him I wanted to talk to his supervisor regarding the other, rude agent. After a while a supervisor came on the line, sounded nice, but then told me I cant cancel the account until within 30 days before the trial period lapsed. The letter I received said nothing about this, and after a bit the guy said he could do it today (apparently a favor) -- but only after he tried to sell me some more! Of course he didnt phrase the sales pitch that way, he called it a reading a disclaimer. I tried a few more times to instruct him to cancel the service without effect, so hung up again. I don’t think I’m under any obligation to hear a sales pitch after I’ve given clear instructions – many times! This is not what we expected when we bought a Mercedes.

I will be very brief. THIS IS THE WORST SUV YOU CAN GET. Having this experience now I would love to get Hyundai or 2 of them for the same price and live a quiet life with money leftover so I can go to Hawaii. Problems, problems and problems, MBUSA is a worst dealership in US which does not even stand behind their products. My local garage was more helpful than their service. Just an example (not to mention legendary brake light socket problems), both of my front doors power locks have stopped working after 15 months (could not survive one winter in New York due to cheap plastics used in actuators or something). Even my Ford Expedition truck is better quality than ML350 and I have never liked Ford quality. BUYER BEWARE: STAY AWAY FROM MERCEDES BENZ. I have owned and leased multiple vehicles with Mercedes for years; one, which is under warranty, is the subject of this complaint. The moonroof opened, and never closed; because it is still under warranty, I took it to our nearest Mercedes dealership for repairs. This was in November of 2020. Now in March of 2021, my vehicle sits, abandoned and without repairs in the same dealership. I’m being informed there is no E.T.A. for the PRODUCTION of the required part that has failed on the moonroof mechanism. To make matters worse, they can’t even force the door shut so that the interior of my vehicle isn’t subjected to the elements, or for me to be able to drive it until the part arrives. We were given the customer service contact information for Mercedes Customer Service, and have come to find that they have absolutely no interest in aiding us in this issue. We were assigned to the Executive Referral Manager, Melicie. She took our information, informed us that she would be making a case file for us, and would attempt to find us options or some sort of resolution. Then, that was it; it’s been over two weeks and haven’t heard back from her; she will not return our phone calls, and when other representatives answer and make a friendly comment about “oh she’s in today”, after that they are unable to locate her or get her on the phone and “would we like her voicemail”. No I do not want her voicemail any more, I want my car back! I appreciate the loaner and I appreciate all that Star Motor has done for us, because they have their hands tied - but isn’t Customer Service here to Service the Customer? The loaner is not the sports SUV that I bought my wife, the car she loves but now is weary to have back because of the unavailability of parts. We continue to pay for this vehicle, we continue to pay for the full coverage insurance, we continue to wait. Is that what we’re supposed to do when we’ve been such faithful customers for so many years? Is this what thousands of dollars a month buys you? I would like a resolution, I would love a call back - I want the type of service I thought Mercedes was supposed to give their customers. Is it fair that this representative, Melicie, is laughing at us - or doesn’t want to deal with us, a Mercedes customer? Maybe an $84k car note to them is not a big deal or important, but this is years of hard work for myself and my wife.

My wife recently exited our C300 MB to come back into our home. She came back to the car only to find it had driven off down our hill, thru our brick pony wall and finally thru our neighbors boulder ditch. 7 weeks later, the insurance company totaled the car. In the meantime we have been complaining numerous times to MB head office over the fact that the car has always exhibited a safety feature in which it shifts into park automatically whenever, and every time, the door is opened. The one time we needed it to, it didnt. Failed completely and now we have lost our car. What really is disappointing is the fact that MB USA has completely ignored this and frankly if this safety feature doesnt perform, then the next time the car runs away on someone, the results could be more tragic than it was this time. Shame shame shame on MB for caring so little to even address this with us.

I own a Mercedes Benz SL 500 (TRS680 GP). Earlier this year, the car went into your workshops ten (10) times before they were able to repair the distronic sensor. At 30,000 km, the car went for a service. Within 50 km after the service, the suspension collapsed and there was a complete failure of the brakes. Fortunately I was able to avoid an accident. The car was towed in to Mercedes-Benz Sandton (corner Rivonia & South) on Monday July 18, 2011. This morning (July 29, 2011), I went and enquired what was happening and I was told the parts for the suspension were due on the 4th of August.Only after the suspension was repaired could they establish why there was a total brake failure. If more parts are required, then I guess there will be a further 3- 4 weeks of wait without my car.The customer service center will not return my calls. (Lance)In summary, straight after the car was serviced, a serious safety problem arose – namely, the suspension and total brake failure occurred. Previous experience showed that repairs, namely the distronic, are not reliable and excessively slow. Please explain to me why I should not notify the relevant authorities on the apparent inability of your group to maintain vehicles in a safe and roadworthy condition.Your reply without delay would be appreciated.

I complained to local dealer and was told it was caused by my way of driving. Ridiculous! I have a 2010 C300 MB and the driver seat tore at the seam. It tore at about 65,000 miles. I didnt report it until over 100,000 miles. I guess supposedly that was my biggest fault but quite frankly now I dont even believe they would have done anything about it back then. The seat is made cheaply from low quality fake leather... even if it did tear at 100,000 that is not ok either. I have had many lesser brand name cars with many more miles than this and I can say not once has a driver seat seem given away. I would only see this issue for a fraction of a second as I entered the car to sit down... out of sight out of mind. (My bad!!?) That being said I am just warning people not to buy the C300 series due to poor quality seats... poor quality that the MB USA wont even stand up for when it fails prematurely... unless you think a seat failing at 65 or even 100k miles isnt premature. The passenger seat motor also failed which I didnt complain about and had to pay to replace myself. I didnt want to pay again for another sub par piece of equipment so I reached out to MB and got no assistance. Even after going by the dealer they supposedly talked to MB USA and they refused to help I was told. After calling MB USA they had no record of me going to the dealership with this issue. Shocking! Very very poor customer service and basically standing up to do the correct thing. I have driven BMWs the past 25 years. It looks like I am going back to a BMW!!! They just made my decision easy!! Maybe BMW would have said the same thing I do not know, but I drove many for the past 25 years with more miles on them than this MB and funny enough I never had to call BMW (or Ford or GMC) to ask them to fix it BECAUSE IT NEVER TORE IN THE FIRST PLACE!!! I have to admit I always put MB sort of on a pedestal but this experience surely brought them crashing down to earth!!! And they have landed in a ditch!!! Btw, I am now also driving around in a car that MB told me could kill me because of a faulty air bag, but they cant replace it yet... keep on driving it... Sounds like a great idea too!! Not!

My husband and I were very interested in buying a Mercedes Sprinter van but
My husband and I were very interested in buying a Mercedes Sprinter van but before taking the plunge we decided to rent a 2011 Sprinter. I am very glad we did because I would NOT want to own this vehicle due to MAJOR safety considerations. Also, we had a VERY poor experience with one of the service advisor of this dealership. This is our story: We were traveling through Southern Oregon and were climbing one of the steep grades of I-5 heading into Grants Pass. Suddenly, we heard a loud “pop” and the Sprinter suddenly lost power. We were in the left lane and had to quickly try to get over. We barely missed getting rear ended by a car and then a big rig. It was terrifying. We managed to get off the Interstate near Hugo, Oregon. We didn’t know it at the time but the Sprinter’s computer deliberately put the van into “limp mode”. This means that the vehicle has a fraction of the power it normally has. When we found a safe place to park, we pulled over and contacted Mercedes Emergency Roadside Assistance. They told us that it would be 2 hours before a tow arrived to take the incapacitated van and us to the M-B Dealership in Medford. We called the M-B Dealership in Medford and let them know what was happening. While we were waiting for the tow, my husband accessed information on the internet and learned that this was likely to be an issue with the Sprinters turbocharger connection to the engine. There seems to be a variety of ways that the turbocharger on this van fails. Some of these failures result in expensive maintenance issues BUT some of them make this van dangerous to drive. My husband told the M-B what he thought the issue might be with this van. Turns out that he was basically correct. We asked the Service Advisor to let us know what was happening with the repair as soon as she knew anything. Not ONCE did this Service Advisor contact us to tell us what was happening in the subsequent 2 days. We were fortunate enough to call and reach another Service Advisor who kindly told us that the problem WAS the connection between the Turbo and the Sprinter’s engine and that it would take about 4 hours to repair.I later called the Service Manager and tried to figure out if there was a reason why the Service Advisor never bothered to return our calls. Of course, the Service Manager never called me back. Given the reputation M-B has for superior customer service, I was a little perplexed at this situation but later came to the conclusion that if you are frequently dealing with unhappy M-B vehicle owners, you probably learn not to return phone calls. In summary, I was so upset at this life threatening experience and the callous way the Service Advisor treated us that I would never buy a Mercedes vehicle and I will do what I can to warn anyone to stay away from the Sprinter van.

Please note that while this review pertains to a 2008 C300, I have spoken to owners of two newer model C300s, and the consensus among us is that reliability is far less than expected, and repairs are more frequent and more costly than we anticipated. Since owning this car, I have replaced several very expensive components, including a drive shaft and steering lock. During a single year, my repairs totaled $3,000. During the following year, repairs were $2,000. These are just two examples of a lengthy list of costly non-maintenance repairs. When I questioned the dealership about this track record, the salesman said, When customers ask me this, I tell them that its to be expected with a high-quality vehicle. TRANSLATION: You arent the only one whos had this experience. For me, the C300 is a low quality vehicle with a fancy emblem on the hood. I will never consider this brand again. If you decide to buy Mercedes, review buyer experiences before you do. You may save yourself a lot of heartache - and a lot of money.

I purchased a 2015 CLS 400 4MATIC with less than 7500 miles. After driving the vehicle for a week, I noticed a small grill for the dash temperature sensor missing. I took it to MB of Boston in Somerville, MA. I trusted that would be cover under factory warranty because I purchased this vehicle with an obvious factory defect, the dealership declined the warranty repair, instead quoted me $1200 to replaced the small vent on the dash without no explanation, the dealership make no effort to remedy the problem to ensure customer satisfaction. I was heartbroken to be told that it would not. I reached out to MBUSA customer relations, I was told a number of time theyre going to call the dealership to work it out with them and get back to me. Since then Ive been trying to reach MBUSA no one from the dealership or MBUSA has contacted me or made any attempt to remedy this situation.

Took 4 MB customer care agents to finally arrange for the local dealer to bring one 4 hours later. Unrelated, just called customer service for recommended tire options for my S550 as the Pirellis they put on lasted 10,000 miles. Took 10 minutes to get a connection to a ringing phone that nobody ever picked up. Should have stuck with Audi. Not impressed at all!!

I purchased a Benz E250 Coupe 2 Door in 2010 straight from the dealership. The vehicle was hardly used and is mostly driven by a driver and no passengers and has only been driven less that 30,000km. Last year the front passenger seat, when you try to adjust the seat forward or backward only one side moves. Therefore the seat becomes one sided. When we took it in to the dealership they said that the mechanism under the seat needs to be changed. Guess how much it costs? Close to USD5000.00. How can a prestigious vehicle such as this have a defective part that powers a seat that was hardly ever used? Inferior comes to mind. So how can I get some relief?

Imagine if I got stuck out in the desert going to California with no cell service and no cell service to call roadside service. At least if the cars come with run flat tires, all should come with a spare and a jack. Nothing at all is unacceptable and dangerous.

I am the original owner of a 2001 Mercedes-Benz S-Class for which I paid over $85,000. My car has a mere 54,000 miles on it and is in superb condition. A few years following the purchase of the car, the thread on my steering wheel began to unravel, at which time I replaced the steering wheel. The same situation has occurred again, necessitating the replacement of the steering wheel for the second time in 54,000 miles. In an effort to appease me, Mercedes-Benz has offered me a whopping $150 toward the cost of putting in the 3rd steering wheel on this supposedly top-of-the-line vehicle. In view of their response, I feel that Mercedes does not stand behind their products, which are sold at premium prices yet often contain inferior workmanship.

I purchased a 2015 Mercedes GL-350 in May 2017 with less than 20K Miles on it. I was told that it was still have full factory warranty on it until 4 years or 40K miles. About 6 months after purchased the vehicle; We started to experience an intermittent problem with the rear view camera and 360 view cameras; once in a while when we put the car into reverse, the screen would continuously flipping between rear view and 360 view. I recorded the issue on camera and brought it to the dealer. The mechanic at the dealer looked at the video and drove the car around for 5 minutes then came back and said that he does not see the problem at the moment so there is nothing they can do. About 8 months before the warranty expired, we began to have another intermittent problem with the transmission, every couple of months, the reverse gear does not work. You can put the transmission into reverse, feel the gear engage but the car wont move; we can rev up the engine to 3000 rpm and the car wouldnt move. The only way to get out of that problem is to drive forward for about 1/4 miles, then after that the reverse gear work again until the next time. We brought the car to the dealer, they test drove the car and did not see the issue, so they again told us, there is nothing they can do. Kept having both of these problems every few months, so we recorded the problem with the transmission on video where the dashboard show the gear in reversed, engine rev up and the car did not move (can tell thru the windshield). We bought it to the dealer and show them the problem. They again drove the car around for a few minutes and came back to tell us that there is nothing they can do because the problem does not happen at that time. When the warranty about to expire on this vehicle, I called Mercedes USA (talked to Erik). He told me I should bring the vehicle back to the dealer if the problem comes back, but I will be responsible for all cost of diagnostic and any cost associated with fixing the transmission. I told him I have detail dealer record/video of the problem existed well before warranty expired and it is Mercedes that could not fix the problem. He kept repeating the warranty policy of 4 years/40K miles and owner responsible for all cost afterward, and that was how the call ended. We spent twice the money on this luxury brand and this is how they treated their customers. I will never purchase another Mercedes or any of their franchise brand and I will make sure I tell this story every chance I get.

The Mercedes GLA is a great purchase. I have researched this make from child like time frame. I have lived and stayed updated on this make since I was 8 yrs old. This has been a childhood dream or bucket list now. The model is a little unfamiliar but its high in demand. I adore the sound system, sunroof access, capacity holding and the drive on the road. It runs well, and great on speed and brakes. On the other hand, the brakes could improve a bit and all models should be snow ready not just AMG style. I wish the colors were a tad more to choose from exterior and interior.

Second time in 1 year 2 tires blew out on the road in NYC. Paid first time for 2 tires because was told the wheel alignment was the cause of the bubbles on the tires. The best or nothing isn’t that your motto? That is precisely the reason why I bought a Mercedes.A couple of months later I was looking forward to taking the car on our annual Penn State football trip. Everything went well on the way up but on the way home while I was traveling at 60 mph, I heard a loud bang. At first I was all over the road and there was a moment when I didnt think I was going to regain control of the car but I did, and pulled off to the side of the road. Not a good ending to the family trip. Thinking it was a flat, I was preparing to change a tire and then noticed that the tire was fine. Four and a half hours from home in the middle of nowhere and I had no idea was had just happened. After an hour or so, the car was towed to a Lexus dealer in Louistown, PA.Since the owner of the Lexus also owned an MB dealership, I assumed they would be able to fix it. I finally got a rental car and was home about 7:30pm on Sunday night. The people at the dealership called me at 8:15 in the morning and were very nice and sympathetic. They indicated that a spring broke and that it broke the axle boot. How is it that a spring breaks on a car with 42k miles?Unfortunately, they were unable to fix the car but set me up with a contact person at Mercedes Benz of State College and even called there to let them know my car was coming. It took about a day to get the car to MB of State College and that is when my experience changed for the worst.I found out that my third party warranty doesnt cover springs but covers everything else that was broken, but because it was a cause and effect they will not cover anything. By the way I was still two days without my car and more than 300 miles away from my car. I have owned a lot of cars and not one of them ever had a spring break. I was curious to know if this was perhaps a recall or something so I called MB of North America. On Tuesday at 4pm, I spoke with a great guy who took my info down and said I should hear back from someone in 24 hrs. The next morning, I called MB dealership of State College at around 10am and spoke with Brian who told me that MB of North America was paying for everything and they will pay to replace the other spring as well because that is the right thing to do. I was very happy and proud once again that I purchased the car. I thought; wow a company that stands by its product. On Friday, I called Brian to make sure that the car was going to be ready. He asked me if I have spoken with a Lindsay ** (Case Manager) from MB of North America. I had not, and asked why. Two hours before I was leaving for a 4-hour drive to pick up my car that I thought was repaired and the expenses were paid for, he indicated that Lindsay was confused and that they should not have said that they were going to pay for it. At the end of the day, the individuals at MB dealership of State College took it upon themselves to determine that if the car was certified before I purchased it they would get MB of North America to pay for the repairs. I was under the impression that my complaint got MB of North America to pick up the tab but I was wrong. Lindsay realized their mistake and what was going on and quickly offered me a credit of $400 to any MB dealer and that it will not expire. She sent me an email which said to contact her 1 week before to make an appointment. That was nice but Im still out $1,000 for the car repairs as well as a couple of hundred for rental cars. All of this due to a spring breaking on a Mercedes Benz with only 42,000 miles.

The Good- I brought my first GLE-350 Mercedes in September of 2016. I love the look and thought the Customer Service would match the luxury feel of the car and it did, until it didn’t. I attempted to give a jump start to another driver at the Detroit Zoo in Royal Oak and my beautiful SUV started displaying “Inoperable”. I called Roadside Assistance and Michael from the Bloomfield Hills location came to my rescue, literally. Michael, was great. He diagnosed the issue with my SUV. He stayed with me and explained the issue to the towing companies. His expertise and professionalism was phenomenal. Michael use his expertise to force my car into neutral even though another Mercedes representative stated that it couldn’t be done. My SUV was dropped-off Sunday evening at the Novi location near my home. Michael called me Monday morning to inform me that he explained what was going on with my SUV to the service tech at the Novi location. I called the Bloomfield Hills location to inform the Manager, Steve on how great Michael has been to me. I told Steve that because of Michael’s great customer service skills I wouldn’t mind staying with the Mercedes brand. The Bad & the Ugly-I arrived at the Novi location at 9:00AM to see what was going on with my GLE-350. I was greeted by Serica, so I asked about the status of my SUV. Serica told me she just started at 9:00AM as she checked her computer. Serica stated that it was assigned to a technician and without an appointment I was lucky to get in. Also, that she would call me with any updates. I thought to myself since I’m already here why wouldn’t she ask the technician the status. Two minute after I left, Serica called and told me the parts had to be ordered and that it would take 4 days. I asked Serica for a loaner car.Four days was a long time and I need a car for work. Serica, stated that no cars were available and that I would have had to book a car two weeks in advance. If I would have known two weeks ago that I was going to blow a fuse in my SUV then I would have planned. I called again on Tuesday, and asked for a Manager. I spoke with Johnathan to see if I could get a loaner car for work. I was highly disappointed in the customer service at the Novi location. Johnathan haven’t returned my call from 9:30AM Tuesday morning. On the other, Serica called to tell me that they are hoping to receive the part sooner than 4 days. In the meantime, I have a credit on my account because I paid my SUV bill for the remaining year with no car to drive. I truly expected Mercedes customer service to be best-in-class. I have driven an Acura for years and Acura’s customer service is top-of the-line. I really thought with a slogan like “Drive the best or nothing”’ the customer service would surpass the rest and be the best, boy was I wrong.

This is a complaint against Mercedes Benz Croydon. Yesterday (24th Jan 2012), my car registration number ** Mercedes C220 was booked for a full service, and an MOT. It was agreed that the car would be picked up from my home in Bromley, and delivered back the same day. The car was picked up on time in the morning. I got a call from Clive ** at about 16:00 H from Mercedes Benz of Croydon, that the car is about to be finished and dropped back, and would I please pay the required amount. I was with a patient at the time (as I am doctor and was consulting), and told him I will ring back as soon as I finished. I rang back a few minutes later, and was told the car would be dropped off, but they were having some driver troubles. We agreed that since I needed the car for work the next morning, and would leave for work the next day before 09:00H the car could be delivered before nine the next day. Clive said he would do his best to get the car delivered today. He also mentioned that the passenger side wheel arch cover was missing, and I asked him if that could be replaced. He said it could, and the cost of that was added to the bill, which was paid by credit card. Later on, I got a voice mail on my phone from Clive that the car would be delivered before 09:00H tomorrow. The next morning (today, the 25th of January 2012), I rang Clive at around 09:00H to ask where the car was, as it was nearly 09:00H. He said the driver left at 08:20H, and should have been there by now. He promised to ring me back. I rang him at 09:10H or so, to say the car is still not here, and my medical clinic will be starting and my patients will be waiting. He said he would try to get in touch with the driver. Nothing happened, and it was now 09:26H. I rang again, and this time he said he is just around the corner, and should be there in a couple of minutes. I asked him how he knew, he said he had spoken to other drivers, and they said he was in the area as they had spoken to him. I was getting desperate. At 09:32H or so, I rang Mercedes Benz, and asked to be put to customer services or the general manager, in order to lodge a complaint. The lady said none of the sales managers is free, and no one can take my complaint. However, if I would leave my name and number, someone would ring me back as soon as they were free. No one rang back as of today. The driver eventually turned up at 09:37H. He said sorry, the traffic was bad. I asked him what time did he leave, and he said 08.50H (whereas Clive repeatedly assured that the driver left at 08:20H). I dont believe the driver either, for if he had left at 08:50H, he should have been at my place at 09:20H at the latest (or 09.30 if traffic was very heavy). I was dismayed that no one from Mercedes Benz rang back to apologize, and to check if everything was okay. No one was bothered that a number of my patients had to wait, and then had to leave without seeing their doctor. On top of that, even though I had been charged, the wheel arch cover had not been fitted (as the bumper was a bit warped). No credit note had been issued. I discovered the arch was not fitted only late this evening. I strongly feel that Mercedes Benz Croydon were not truthful when they dealt with me. Are they truthful when they say they serviced the car properly? I strongly feel that Mercedes Benz treated me extremely shoddily. I request that a full investigation be made why this happened, and how can I overcome my reluctance to deal with this same crowd again? My service book was not stamped (it was in the car on the inside leg area of the front passenger seat of the car). I can understand if it was overlooked. I feel reluctant to go to the branch to ask them to stamp it, because they appear to be an untrustworthy lot. I request some compensation be made for the aggravation suffered by me, due to this unfortunate incident.

I bought new a 2011 E350. Every time the weather changes a few degrees, the check tire pressure light comes on and I have to take the car to MB dealership for them to add air to the tires. This happens often. They tell me everybody does this, not true. I have friends who have the exact same car and this has never happened to them. I cannot get any satisfaction from the service department. Has anyone else had this problem?

Ive had my 2011 e550 (bought brand new) at the dealer service four times in the last 3 months for squeaking breaks. He informed me that it was due to my driving style and that no other e550s have had this problem and Id just have to live with it. Then in the next breath he told me that the brake assembly was too big for the car (manufacturing problem). They had it in the shop, put something on the breaks and then we went for a test drive later that day while he was in town. No squeak. Amazing, but not at all surprising. Later that day and seven miles of driving the whining started; then the shrill squeaking was right back. I love this car but Im going to have to get rid of it because they will not work with me at all. Im very disappointed by the quality and by the service after the fact. They made an offer to put new brake pads and rotors on it, again. Three sets of brakes within 15,000 miles - no thanks.

I have owned Honda or Acura products for my entire life. I drive quite a lot but thought I would try something different this time. I really loved the look and feel of the CLA 250 and thought I would test drive it. I was hooked. I bought the car on the spot. Great sales and finance support. No issues there. However, after about 8000 miles, the car started to have issues with the brakes, electrical system and front end, which I am sorry to say, I was forced to document meticulously, wasting numerous hours. To make a long story short, I was treated so poorly it was staggering. And by a Mercedes dealership, which I really didnt expect. I have owned the car for a little over a year; it has been in the shop about two months out of that time and still is not driving correctly. The service manager and general manager are not only unhelpful, but downright rude. Stay away from these guys.

Since I purchased my 2007 E350 sedan, I have spent over $12,000 in maintenance and repairs. Specifically, to name a few of the repairs beyond the usual maintenance, in December 2011, transmission repairs in the amount of $2,219. In December of 2012, my car completely died at midnight at an airport 30 miles from my home. That repair was $3,539 for transmission issues. Mileage: 62,000. In January of 2013, the same problem occurred with car dying. This time they did not charge me since it had been repaired a week earlier. In August of 2013, another $2,354 for transmission issues, including mounts (same thing from Dec 2011). My car has relatively low mileage for a car purchased over 6 1/2 years ago. I have always taken my car to the Mercedes Benz dealer for maintenance as required and have kept up with it. All service records are at Mercedes. I find that these are exorbitant amounts to pay for a luxury car, with low mileage. I expected far more out of Mercedes. I will NEVER buy a Mercedes again.

2008 MB e350 sedan with gas, fuel pump failed and the replacement for a California high efficiency emissions car has a metal tank that is not repairable. The pump is built in and cannot be replaced w/o replacement of the entire tank costing $2800 for parts only. There is a warranty for all gas e350 due to leakage of gas but the metal tank is excluded and I have no recourse to repair or replace except thru m/b, no aftermarket parts or anything. Has anyone have success with this unique problem in repair or replacement?

I purchased dealership certified GLB 250 with 7000 miles on it. The car was not driven for few months due to covid. After car had 15,000 miles and was due for maintenance, I was informed that the tires needs to be replaced. The car is less than a year old and drove 8000 more miles when we were informed to change the tires. I contacted the dealership to find out the reason for tire replacement only on 15000, I was informed that the tires are performance tires and are good for 15,000 - 20,000 miles only. This is unusual for a luxury car to have low performance. The brand has a reputation of a durable and sturdy car but to my disappointment I had to deal with the this issue on only 15,000 miles out of which I only drove 8,000.I contacted the Mercedes Corporate to talk to consumer affairs and spoke to Caroline who informed me that she will talk to dealership to take an action for goodwill and brand reputation. The solution provided me was poor and a negligible discount was offer. I am not happy with the Brand, the customer relations, customer service and the dealership.

2 years ago we purchased a 2011 Mercedes Sprinter van and have spent close to $14K on repairs. We use it for our travels for my sons motocross racing throughout the US. We have had nothing but problems and have had multiple breakdowns where we have gone into Limp Mode mostly due to the diesel particle filter. After reviewing some of the broken parts with a certified Mercedes mechanic it was known that Mercedes builds their engines with plastic parts banking on the fact that they fail within so many miles. Good example: who puts plastic parts for the throttle body on the valves? My wife just recently traveled with our 12 yo son 1100 miles to Oregon just after replacing the DEF pump and heating element system which cost me over $3k and was told we were good to go. Again she broke down. Your Mercedes a Roadside Assistance reassured me that they would take care of my wife to tow it to a local dealership but then wanted to charge us... Thank god for AAA. So where do I go from here? Does Mercedes have a solution to let me and my family feel safe?

My husband and I own a business and finally had the fund to purchase a brand new special order 2013 Mercedes Sprinter Van in Fall 2013: FOR CASH, No Financing!! Month one he had brake and electrical issues & each time he went back they told him he was crazy. Month 2-5 (last time brought in was one week ago) weekly visits for failing brakes, emergency lights coming on and scary noises from the van. Each time they find nothing and they tell us there is no recall. How can something become a recall if they wont report the finding??? We were forced to started videotaping things to send them but magically they would tell us it was something he did. The van has less than 2,000 miles but we are the issue. This van has been in and out of service every month but they cant find anything wrong. Each time its there, we lose money, so why would we want to waste their time and ours??? At one time they had it in the shop for over 2 weeks!!! We never had these issues with our used vans. My main fear is the brakes stop working when I have my kids in there or some child is crossing the street and the brakes dont work. We are told every time that they cant find anything wrong. We spent over $55,000 cash and we lose money every time is sits in the shop. The service people have not helped us at all in this dealership and we dont want anyone else to go through this!!! I dont know where else to turn!!!

When we purchased this vehicle new and picked it up the problems started. The speaker fell out of the wall while I was driving home. I fixed it before my wife gets upset about quality. We took the van to Disney and water started pouring into the van from the roof. Took it in and they fixed it and left a dirty shop towel inside the AC unit, plus dirty finger prints on the panels. Door adjustment on sliding door was not correct. Door would rattle while driving. This was repaired at dealer when oxy sensor went bad. Then the egr valve went bad. Then the AC compress clutch failed and was replaced. They made us pay the labor. AC condenser cooler totally disintegrated and fail into the parking lot in a little pile of aluminum fins. The hide lines stayed intact. This was repaired as well.Paint on the vehicle at 8000. Miles started to chip off every time a bug hit it. Now it looks bad. I used touch up to hide it. They said they would fix it and repainted it, but they never did. Now the serpentine belt and pulley and tensioner are being replaced at my cost. This cost 800 dollars, but they were supposed have fixed this with the AC compressor repair. Anyway, there is more. My van only has 38,000 miles on it. Can you believe this. Mercedes has refused to assist and we have purchased 6 vehicles from them through the years. I guess the German quality is gone and they dont care either.

This dealership should be called the Pinocchio Mercedes Dealership because their deceptive practices are unbelievable. I leased a new Mercedes 2 weeks ago with the only requirement that Id be able to keep the same features of my 2019 car. They lied and cajoled me into a lease only to later find out that I had better features on my 2019 car. They agreed to return my car after going back and forth over the past two weeks after I was able to show that promises were made in writing that couldnt be delivered. So they promised to return my car that had 11,000 miles on it two weeks ago and take back the SUV that didnt have satellite radio or a decent set of speakers or the option of navigation. Today I return their car that I drove for 112 miles. They give me the key to my car which someone has driven almost 2,000 miles with all the filth of the employee that they allowed to drive my car. Everything about this place reminds you of a car dealership that relies on bait and switch sales. Even the manager, Katrina, who went out of her way to tell me that Mercedes would not take advantage of a senior citizen and that as an ** she treats everyone as she would want her ** older parents treated. This is not information that I solicited as clearly she was trying to demonstrate that she would never take advantage of senior citizens. Well if I was a betting woman I would bet that the only ** DNA that Katrina has is from an ** ancestor. The way a business treats current customers merely demonstrates how you will be treated if you lease or buy from this dealership. As a clinical psychologist I dont need to go out on a limb to tell you that if a person lies about something innocuous then they wont hesitate to lie to get your business. Shame on Mercedes for treating your customers with such disrespect and disdain. The fact that they couldnt be bothered to wash or vacuum a car that they drove to Timbuktu (in 2 weeks???) during a pandemic and never disclosed the wear and tear on my car by an employee tells you everything you need to know about Mercedes San Francisco!

I purchased a Mercedes-Benz GLA 45 about 6 months ago, it has only done 2600km, the reason being the AMG has the most uncomfortable seats I have ever driven in. The rear of the seat is only 290mm wide, after drive any longer than about 30 minutes my right side of my body is in pain from the bolster pressing on my hip and leg. I have tried adjusting the seats several times to no avail. All MB Gold Coast could suggest was to buy another MB with more comfortable seats in it. Or come in so they could check the seat adjustment. After going online I find a lot of people complaining about this problem. Even 2 car reviewers commented on how bad the seats were. I do not understand why this problem has not been addressed. My only choice is to sell the car, which is a shame because everything else on the car seems fine so far.

This car has had 2 (two) safety related issues in less than 3,000 miles of ownership. Mercedes-Benz is fully aware of these issues but is not fixing the problems. Both Mercedes-Benz and their dealerships do not understand the importance of tracking software on cars and fixing it to avoid problems. Our emergency braking system was shut down by the computer due to software problems. MB should have been able to proactively update the software in order to avoid this problem just based upon the VIN number and production dates. I am waiting for the 3rd safety issue so I can return this car to them under the Lemon Law. Dealerships should be staffed by people who are technically savvy as well as mechanics. Mercedes-Benz is delivering a substandard product due to lack of responsible practices after the product leaves the factory. Do not purchase or lease a GLA250 or believe the reporting on the internet that the 2016 models had safety issues address by the company. Its simply not true.

When the servicing date finally arrived I am told that the camshafts are messed up and they cant do anything until they hear instructions from the main headquarters. When they received instructions, the instructions were to dismantle and document and nothing else. 10 days later, the car is still sitting in their garage. They dont even offer a loaner car or an actual date of completion. I cant get ahold of anyone in Bogota. When I call MB America, they also cannot help. I have a 2 year old, C class AMG, still under MB warrantry. When bought from a non franchised MB dealer which had 4,500 on the clock when bought - It now has 7,800 on the clock. In that time the front discs have been changed once at 6,000 miles and are now due for change again. With a different issue. For the first week or two, the brakes were perfect. Then I could feel the brake pedal was pulsing. After a new set of MB discs. Current issue with these, is horrendous vibration on the car all over the car at minimum braking. (Anything above 20mph). Hard braking, the vibration disappears until you start easing off on the brakes. Or, you get below 20mph.3 weeks ago, it was booked into, first MB (Solihull) dealership, on latest discs changed at 5,500 roughly and car was showing 7,000. Lucas over the phone called me and said front discs are warped. Told him not correct (or words to that effect.) Cant be, its had new MB discs. He told me. In which case take it back to the (non) franchise dealer you bought it from and get them to repair it... which I was not happy with it the slightest. So, I talked to the manager of the dealership and he pacified me by saying, its a known issue, when bolting the wheels up to the hub (Basically fed me **, it turns out). So, two weeks ago, took it to an independent garage. After telling them the issues. They said instead of just slapping new discs on. They would check everything. So, they clocked the wheels to the hub. Both fronts running true. Then clocked the front hubs. Drivers side was running out 0.005 though. Passenger side was running bang on. (So, MB Solihull were wrong, and were effectively going to fit new discs to a hub that was out?)At that point Id decided never to use MB Solihull again. Due to Lucas telling me to take the car back to the dealers Id bought it from over the phone and an incorrect fault diagnosis. I think they were more interested in carrying out the software update to the powertrain module, than sorting out the issue I had with the brakes (Probably never even took the wheels off. Just drove the car. Experienced the vibration and fed me, what is in the customers handbook). Lucas said he would e-mail me the report. Needless to say, that never happened. Yesterday the non-franchised dealers I bought it from, had it booked it into 2nd different MB (Coventry) garage. I though to cure the problem. The dealer told MB Coventry, everything wed learned from the independent garage.I phoned MB Coventry at 2.30pm and was eventually told that theyd found the problem. It was rust on the hub and you have a broken bearing. So youve cured the problem? No. Weve not been told to cure it. And started to talk about corrosion on the mating faces. etc. Straight out of your How to get out of sorting a known issue handbook. (I was not polite, as by then Id realised that I would be driving this heap of scrap on the motorway for another week).Got off the phone and phoned up the garage who stripped the car down last week. They said no signs of rust on the hub. Then phoned the dealer and apparently MB had quoted for Two hubs. Even though one hub was running true... not sure what else they quoted for. Just knew they were trying to rip me off. I then went to the Coventry branch to pick the car up and discuss with the manager, the issues I have. He shows me pics of the hub and shows pics of the broken bearing. So, incredulously I say to him, youve stripped a car down and put it back together again with a broken front hub bearing, and are going to hand that car over to me? (Basically called him a liar as I didnt believe the hub he was showing me, was mine (Even if it was. The implications of giving a car back to a customer with a fault such as that, doesnt bear thinking about). He talked to me, out by the car and went all over the wheels looking for any signs of bangs or refurbishment, even suggested the wheels werent the originals... While he was doing this, I noticed that the outside areas of the wheels, were still covered in brake dust. So, voiced my doubts that theyd even taken the wheels off, at all. He persuaded me they had, as the wheel nut areas you could see no brake dust. Which brings me to the question that if MBs wheels/hubs, etc. are so critical on their mating faces that they need to be spotlessly clean. Surely the very first thing MB should do, before removing the wheels, is to remove any brake dust on the outside? So, when bolting up the wheels, Your not compounding the problem?(The car is vibrating all over the place. A bit more brake dust isnt going to make that much difference). The manager also blamed refurbished wheels? Everything basically that was not covered, by the MB manufacturing warranty. I then said, there is no way I would ever, take a car of mine to MB for anything and I wouldnt trust their mechanics to put my great grand daughters Lego together if their latest diagnosis on my car is to be believed. I will never buy an MB again, as they obviously have a serious design defect, that needs addressing, if the brake discs are that fragile. Manager agreed by looking sheepish, if that makes sense. My perception of MB is that they like scaring people into throwing their money away. Total whitewash with respect to my customers complaint. Obviously couldnt give a damn about their (ex) customers. More interested in trying to screw as much money out of gullible customers as they can. Clearly a good business model. But one ex-customer isnt going to make a difference.

I keep my vehicles maintained on schedule. My 2009 C300 has just turned 80k miles. Upon using my car to go get lunch, it ran fine. Upon leaving lunch, the door lock and panel lights worked but the car would not start. At all. Had a local garage check battery first. Not the battery. Car then had to be towed 63 miles away to Mercedes dealer for servicing. They also charged $149 to diagnose the problem and a $20 shop fee (I learned this is for towels, lubricants and misc items. Mind you, this is a Mercedes dealership). $1500 later I will be able to pick up the car. In researching this problem, before having car towed to MB dealer, I see many other people on various sites with a c300 and with the same issue.I also can not get a straight answer about the recall for a past rear lighting problem. They say the lighting recall from 2014 is closed, that work will not/can not be completed. I was not aware of the lighting recall as I was in the process of relocation in 2014 and did not receive any communication. Very disappointed in Mercedes customer service and reliability. Since I had received my car Class B-150 in 2008. I am suffering from it because of many problems. Brakes: Its not up to the expected when needed (very weak). Makkar Agency has been informed of this problem and they made necessary maintenance (as assumed by them) till the expiry of the guarantee period. Then they asked for a complete adjustment for the whole brake system!!! After this incident, I moved to Katameya Maintenance Center. During 2011 another problem has been appeared which is vibration and weird voices in the motor. They defined the disrepair as a problem in the Belt Tensioner and they changed it in September 2011. The problem continued and they ignored our many complaints about it till the guarantee period of the Belt Tensioner has been expired. In April 2014, the problem has been aggravated and the car became slow and the vibrations are increased where I suspected the gear box oil. Car has been sent to the Mercedes Maintenance at Fom El Khalig and they reported that gear box oil is not the problem and it is in good condition and they have to change Belt Tensioner again (already has been changed when the car was reading 30,800 km). Three days after receiving the car, same problem appeared again. I re-sent it again to the same Maintenance Center (Fom al Khalig) where they reported that the car needs to change the main Control Board of the Gear Box!!! You will not believe that the car is reading now 47,011 km which is very weird and strange for Mercedes Benz with their GREAT HISTORY. From the above, Im not satisfied at all with the car regarding all many disrepairs which affected my job and I consider the above as waste of time and money. When I chose to buy Mercedes I chose Name, Reputation, Strength and durability. I work as Engineering Director at and Engineering Consultancy Company for Petroleum Companies (as Business Card attached) and Im sure that Mercedes Benz, with their large reputation in Egypt and Middle East and Internationally, cannot accept these many disrepairs for a car 47,000 km. I really was going to buy the new CLA but now after all these happenings, I will not and will not recommend Mercedes for any of my acquaintances. I expect free change of this spare part and rechecking of the many frequent breakdowns of the car. Appreciating your understanding and your time. N.B. my car is in Mercedes Agency at Fom Al Khalig since Saturday 3rd of May and no answer till now.

I own a Mercedes C180 model 2012, and I had an accident on the 25th of February. The front part of the car is completely damaged, but all the safety items did not work (the seat belts, air bags). The car is now in the service workshops in Ring Road Cairo, Egypt. I asked for a report on why the safety items did not work. They prepared a very short report in which they replied to me saying that the airbag does not necessarily open in any collision, which does not answer my question honestly. Therefore, I need to investigate this problem because the car needs a lot of money, and I am no longer sure whether the car is safe enough for me and my family. This reply from the workshop is not worthy of the Mercedes reputation and this outraged me.

I am a small business owner. I operate a small cartage company that deliver specific products for specific clientele on a weekly basis in the Greater Toronto Area. I bought the business with a different truck from a gentleman I knew who learned he was terminally ill about 5 years ago. That truck gave me all kinds of problems, so earlier this year I decided that maybe it was time to go with something new; I decided to lease a Mercedes Sprinter (I feel that this is all relevant information, please bear with me). Now initially when I leased the Sprinter, I made an error in calculation and leased one that was inadequate to meet my payload needs (2500 with extended wheelbase). The monthly payment on this one was about $900, including HST. Admittedly, that one was entirely my mistake. After about 4 months, I went back to my dealership and traded in Sprinter #1 and upgraded the model of vehicle to a 3500 Dually with an extended wheelbase. In addition to the cost of the lease, an additional $6200 for the lease shortfall was tacked on to the lease value which had a drastic effect on my monthly lease payments (which are a handsome sum of $1109.90/month). This shortfall would offset the reduction in value since I drove the vehicle off the lot. Unfortunately, it was not long after this that I discovered a very real threat to my business which might force me to shut down operations, which also happened to coincide with a new promotion that Mercedes began specifically for Sprinters. I contacted my dealership to explain the situation, but with little result. All that was said to me was to contact Mercedes Benz Financial Services to see what the options are, which are very limited. Essentially, the options are as follows;a) I could voluntarily surrender the vehicle at which time Mercedes would then send it to auction where they would try to recover the highest value, leaving me responsible to cover the balance plus the tax. This option would have a very detrimental effect on my credit rating as it would not distinguish that it was a voluntary repossession, only repossession; b) Find a candidate to take over the lease (the truck has been on leasebusters.com since August 2012. See leasebusters ad ID # 132995 if youre interested); c) Either myself or someone else could buy the vehicle outright. Now, Im not asking for special treatment and I understand that I signed the paperwork making me responsible, but let me share a couple of other things that have happened in the interim. I have had two serious inquiries about the truck since it has been on leasebusters.com. The first was a pair of gentlemen who had just started a cartage business and were going to take over my business with the truck who had contacted the individual at my dealership (whose name I will not mention) who sent them the necessary forms. Now part of the issue was that because they were a newer company and lacked any sort of financial history, they were asked to provide personal guarantees on the vehicle. Fair enough, though it is important to keep in mind that my business was enough to get me the truck, so why not them? I mean they were intending to take over my business, after all (in case youre wondering, the threat to my business is not a sudden loss of business but something I dont wish to disclose). Now the second gentleman contacted me from Montreal where he is the president of a large, international multi-modal transportation company and we had actually agreed upon incentive fees and a pick-up date. When I contacted the same individual at the dealership, she once again sent the same applications to the individual for him to fill out. Upon realizing that he was being asked for personal information, he basically ceased all communication with me and effectively killed the deal, less than a week before it was scheduled to occur. I later learned that he was reluctant to personally guarantee the vehicle, especially when it was his company that would be taking over the lease, and not him personally. Needless to say, I was very frustrated at this point. I contacted Mercedes to find out why both business and personal financials were needed and wasnt given any explanation except that it was often the case in these circumstances. Since then, I have been trying to contact Mercedes Benz Financial to come up with alternative potential solutions, such as offering to pay an additional lump sum to bring down the monthly payments, in order to make it more attractive to a potential lease take-over candidate but to no avail. When I suggested this I was told that there would be no point in paying extra, as it would not affect my payments but rather reduce the amount of money owed on the back end of the lease. My business is closing at the end of January and as of right now, it seems as though I will have to continue making payments on the Sprinter until either someone takes it over or I take it back for repossession. If I take it back for repossession, I will have a long-lasting scar on my otherwise impeccable credit. I have done everything I can think of and Mercedes Benz is completely unwilling to assist me in any way. Mercedes Benz has put me on a collision course with bankruptcy. On numerous occasions, when dealing with someone from either the dealership or MBFS, I have been met with what can only be described as indifference. I feel as though I will be left with no other choice but to file for bankruptcy and start all over even though I have tried everything to pursue other avenues and solutions.

I have driven Mercedes Benz for nearly a decade. I have trusted the brand; I have trusted the Mercedes-Benz dealership in Fort Lauderdale. However, recently this trust was betrayed. Additionally, I have always purchased my cars there, and always taken my car there for service. I recently took my car in to get the lights replaced. A week later the car was ready. As I drove off the parking lot, I opened the glove compartment, and it fell to the floor. I quickly called my service advisor; he suggested I take it in as soon as I could. And I did; after assessing the damage, the service manager called me and became argumentative, refusing to take responsibility. He not only betrayed my trust, he insulted me, his last words were: We are going to have to agree to disagree on this one. This is not remarkable customer service; in fact, its no customer service at all. The damage is self-evident, an obvious blunt force and trauma to the glove compartment. A client for a decade; I was planning on purchasing my next car there next year; not to mention, I spent close to $4000 on the lights and back breaks. If you want quality, chose a different dealership.

GLC 300 SUV - This was my first Mercedes and it has turned out to be a huge disappointment. The brakes squeak so loud that you can hear me backing out of the driveway for blocks. The dealership tells me that they are working on a fix. But, I have had the car one full year and no fix. This is completely unacceptable, and I paid over $50K for the vehicle. Do not buy. Buy an Acura or Lexus instead.

2009 SL550 37K miles. Close to $10K replacing pumps and parts for hydraulic suspension system within last 25 months. Known to have high rate of failure with MB. 2 weeks ago: Total brake failure at intersection. No warning, car hanging out on 40mph road. Alarms, car engine running but with no control. Could not depress brakes per message on dash hard enough to engage gears. Jumped on them and after several near miss t-bones was able to reverse but not stop reverse due to brake failure. Mercedes Benz SBC design flaw and I was lucky. Someone may not be so lucky someday. Will never drive that car or any other MB again. This is another dangerous and documented flaw. MB did not nothing but replace that part. I think I was supposed to be happy. Asked them for fair market value buy back for my car. I was given all the reasons I had no recourse from. They dont take where the car ended up with the brake failure into consideration to expired lemon law period. Better customer service for our Tahoe. More than disappointed.

My 2006 Mercedes Benz R350 has the gear not shifting. I looked at it, the gear position is moving R-N-D but the car does not move so I towed my car to MB dealership near my house Keyes European at Van Nuys to check and make sure. So I met Karin **, Service Adviser. After she had check, she said I needed to change transmission and it might cost me $7,100. After that, I tried to call MB customer service MB USA 1-800-367-6372. Mr. Justine said he will find out what is going on with my car and he promised he will call me back with 24-48 hours. Since that day, I didnt get any answer from him due to holidays and time difference. When I bought this car, I was looking for elegance, trusted and safe. As Mercedes Benz has good brand name, when I bought this car I almost paid all of my savings from many years of saving and I always think that car will be good with no problem. I thought MB has always good service with care because of the price value that I will get from MB.

I have two keys for my 2006 350. I have replaced the batteries over the years no problem with that at all. Recently, I went to replace the battery in set of keys but that didnt work for all the functions. I could lock my car but not open it... strange huh. So I went to my alternate set of keys, used them for a while and then that set didnt work either... weird. I could open my car doors but couldnt lock them. So I have been using 2 sets of keys to run my car. Doesnt make sense to me.So I contacted my Mercedes Dealership and explained the issue. They said, No problem. Come in and we will order you 2 new sets of keys. Sounds good so far... but not too fast. Each set would be $300. Mercedes wants me to pay $600 to replace Faulty keys. I didnt lose them... I just used them since I have had the car. Now they dont work properly. So I have to pay Mercedes $600 so I can operate my car and replace faulty keys. I have never heard that before. I could understand if I lost keys... but I didnt... they just stopped working correctly. So for being a good customer (repeat customer) I am now saddled with a $600 charge to replace faulty equipment. If I do that... which I must... there is no guaranty the new keys will last either. This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard of... COME ON MAN!! Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I have complained to the West Chester Ohio dealership regarding the Parking Brake not releasing after putting the car in gear. I pull the park release and it has no effect on the brake. The only way I can get the car to move is to apply the gas, until it releases with a loud noise. This cannot be safe, but I was told that this has been happened with some of their other customers. I called and filed a complaint with MB USA and was told they will forward it to their recall department. I was curious how many other customer are experts this issue.

I purchased a new 2017 Mercedes Benz Sprinter van and at approximately 5000 miles I started having transmission issues. I brought it to the dealer 3 times for the same issue. Every time they tried different things from updates to the control module, replacing the valve body to even swapping out the transmission control module all with no resolve. They even had a technical rep come out and after 3 weeks in the shop it’s still not working correctly. I’m convinced that their technicians are glorified part swappers and they have no clue what theyre doing. This is my first experience with Mercedes Benz and it’s going to be my last because to date this issue has cost me over 25k in lost business from not having my van and Mercedes Benz could care less.

Ive just purchased a 2012 ML350. Though the ride and the overall quality of the vehicle is nice, the door lock on the passenger door came defective. Weve had to wait over a week to get the part to fix the problem, but the auto-lock function does not work. A company like MB cant even get a simple thing like the door lock. Its going to be serviced again, which my car will be in service more days then driven. This ruins the new car buying experience. I bought the car through Dez at Long Beach MB. I had the service done at House of Imports in Buena Park, CA. Not only I had to wait over ten days for the part to arrive, when it arrived some parts were missing, so I had to wait over the weekend and then some to get my car back. When everything is thought to be fixed, it wasnt. The consequence of this defective part and questionable workmanship is having the new car buying experience ruined and it ruined the image of MB. This is my third MB, and this is not something that happens to supposedly one of the most luxurious brands in the world. ML may not be their best car, but it may well be their most important vehicle this year. I cant understand how this could happen to a MB vehicle. Id understand if it was made in China like vehicles.

We had our car serviced here and when we got it back it CAUGHT ON FIRE and
We had our car serviced here and when we got it back it CAUGHT ON FIRE and so it begins. Trust me... Its worth the read. :) Heres the situation: A couple of days before Xmas, our car shut off in a parking lot and wouldnt turn on even after roadside assistance came and we hooked up a new battery. We had it towed to Autohaus on Edens, Northbrook Il based on a recommendation and because it is a Mercedes dealer and we wanted trustworthy service. They did a diagnostic and had a hard time figuring out the issue.Tom ** was very communicative and explained they were checking the battery and all the electronic systems etc but it was taking some time. Finally, we go word that they had identified that it was the EIS system. They replaced that system, completed the installation and they did a multipoint inspection to identify potential issues as well as confirm that the battery, cables, mountings etc. were inspected and were AOK. This took 10 days.We got the car back. It CAUGHT ON FIRE while were were driving. The fire was where the battery is located underneath the passenger seat with flames and smoke billowing up. There was no indication anywhere on the dashboard that there was a problem. Thank god We were not on a highway and that one of my kids or spouse werent sitting there when this happened or we could have been killed or badly burned. Luckily it was snowing a boatload and we got the fire out by shoving snow on it and when the smoke cleared, we noticed the red safety plate that typically covers the positive connection had been removed and was sitting placed in the back of the passenger seat. We took pics, contacted our insurance who told us to contact the dealer and let them know once we had a cause. We contacted Tom ** at Autohaus on the Edens and explained the situation. He advised us to have it towed back there so they could do an investigation. We had the car towed up there and he called a couple of days later and stated that they needed us to authorize $500.00 to pay for a further diagnostic because they had to pull up the seat to determine the cause of the fire. He believed it was an issue with something shorting out the battery but needed confirm. We agreed to the diagnostic. He commented that they never touched the battery the first time we brought it in. We reminded him (we have his voicemail) that when we brought the car there the first time, he let us know they couldnt figure out the problem as they had tested the battery and it was working fine. They also completed installation of the battery (he confirmed) and finally they provided us with a multiple point written inspection report where they specifically stated that they inspected the battery, cables, mountings etc. and all are AOK. We again brought up the missing red safety cap that should have been covering the positive wires and he stated that doesnt matter and isnt the issue. We asked if the exposed wires that should have been covered by the cap could have caused the fire if they sparked and he said he wasnt sure but would know more once they did a full investigation. We waited and then received a report where no diagnostic was included but rather they just supplied the cost of the damage and repairs for $4600.00. Included in this report was a new multipoint inspection where they stated that they inspected the battery, wires, mountings and cables and all were AOK. Except that the battery had melted as had the connecting wires and cables. WHAT? Hmmmm. He followed up with a phone call and stated that they thought the battery was faulty and we should go after the battery company. We asked why that wasnt listed as a diagnostic he said he couldnt legally state that but we actually paid 500.00 to figure out the cause and we would need that to go back to the battery company. We also asked bout that multipoint inspection stating all was ok with the battery, cables, mountings etc. When, in fact, they had been in a fire and all was melted/seriously damaged. What we learned from Tom ** is that these inspections are a courtesy and they may or may not actually do them! What?I brought my car to Mercedes because I trust they do what they said they did. I trust their recommendations. It turns out that they dont actually do the inspection. These two reports confirm this fact. Which brings me back to the first time around. If they had actually done the inspection, wouldnt they have either picked up on a loose wire and/or the missing plate? Seems reasonable. Note to self: They do NOT do the inspection, just say they do.We asked him to document the faulty battery and then we got another report where the multipoint inspection reflects that the battery, cables, mounting etc. are NOT AOK and also NOT documenting a faulty battery as the cause but instead identifying some loose wires by the positive battery cable (that would have been covered had the cap been on or picked up if they actually did the inspection) added 250$ to the bill and sent it over. 4900.00 and no cause or accountability. At this point in the conversation, we contacted the head of service Jim ** who had Tom call us back because he was too busy. You can imagine our frustration! The worst part is Tom was very polite and kept saying we want you to have a great experience and be happy. Not possible at this point. We brought our car here in December and spent 1800.00. Got it back and then it CAUGHT ON FIRE while we were driving! We bring it back again and get a huge runaround with no clear cause, conflicting reports, phone calls that conflict what was written and all the while they have our car as a hostage! Finally after 2 weeks without a car Jim ** agrees to talk to us. He does not appear to have an understanding of the details to date and the gist is he asks: What do you want? Do you want me to pay for this? Cause that isnt gonna happen. Call your insurance and have an adjuster come out. We dont want to push a claim on them but thats why you have insurance. Once we figure it out we can get you loaner and I can cover your deductible.Progress! I contact my insurance to explain that we are at an impasse and give them the details. They agree that this sounds very suspect and they get involved (thank God) but due to Covid it will take them a few days to get out there. I call Jim back with the update and he says great but no deal on the loaner. There is a catch. I can get a loaner once insurance agrees that they will pay for it...interesting.... The next day, Tom ** calls to reinforce that we will NOT get a loaner until insurance agrees to pay. He ends the convo with we want you to have a great experience. Seriously? (Note: if you have a Mercedes, get rental insurance with your car insurance!)Finally insurance and Autohaus strike a deal that is less than what they charged us initially at $4200.00 and Tom calls to state that it will take them another 7-10 days but we can have a loaner as long as we bring it back every 3 days... no exceptions. What?! Has anyone ever gotten a loaner for longer than 3 days from Autohaus on Edens? I know I have from Mercedes downtown. We live 40 minutes away; we have 4 kids; We have been without our car for 2.5 weeks (due to what appears to be negligence). We never got a loaner the first time either....oh and we had our car serviced there and then IT CAUGHT ON FIRE which is why we need a loaner! This was the WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!When we go to pick up the car, there is yet another report differing from the first 4 and they have added charges for additional parts but dont know what the parts are. Literally a change for parts unidentified. They told us to pay the difference and that they had contacted our insurance who would reimburse us except...wait for it...not accurate. And regarding those outstanding charges that we paid for? They will get back to us on what they were for. Still waiting. What about MERCEDES USA you may ask yourself? Well we also involved Mercedes USA and spoke with Susan, Executive Referral Manager at HQ in Georgia and she is supposedly investigating to see if there was a car malfunction but dealerships are basically franchises and they have no involvement AT ALL! What? They said this type of situation has nothing to do with them. Also she indicated that if we got the car fixed, they may not be able to investigate which is ridiculous. You would think Mercedes USA would want to inspect what happened when a Mercedes Benz catches fire at the battery under the passenger seat while being driven and there is no indication other than the flames and smoke engulfing the car that there is an issue? And that this occurred immediately after having it serviced at a Mercedes Benz Dealership. I guess not. It is so far down their list that after we submitted the photos and took the time to fill out all the information she has not responded in any way. Thankfully no one was hurt or killed or this would be a very different conversation. How did it end? We got our car back and we got the battery back as well. We are waiting to hear whats next from Mercedes. It was too big of a deal to not leave you with the details so there you have it! Dont go to Autohaus on Edens and if you do: know that the multipoint inspection isnt real. To be quite frank do yourself a favor and dont buy MERCEDES. If you want a German car...I would say look to buy and Audi or a BMW.

2015 C300 cracked a piston at 68,000 miles causing engine damage that is unable to be repaired. This car was serviced on time through an authorized MB dealer for 4 years. Car always ran loud and would not shift smoothly. These complaints have been documented for 4 years but MB failed to disclose to me that the loud noise was because of a manufacturing defect common in engines built prior to April 2015. Mercedes Benz authorized mechanic failed to recognize that the car was manufactured with inferior wrist pins which would ultimately lead to engine damage.MB knew exactly which engines were affected by this and failed to act. Engine failed after warranty ended. MB refuses to pay for any of the damage, even though they recognize that engines built prior to April 2015 would eventually suffer such damage. Parts (wrist pins) were modified in engines after April 2015. MB will not help with cost of repairs since the car is out of warranty. Since the car was taken in multiple times while it was under warranty, MB should absorb some or all of the cost to repair.

I purchased a used 2007 Mercedes-Benz C230. The car had around 70k miles on it. I was driving home one night and the car suddenly jerked and went into Limp mode. Meaning the car would not accelerate past 40 mph. I was able to drive it to a MB Service Center where I was informed that a sensor inside the transmission had failed, it was an anti-theft related part and could only be installed and programmed by Mercedes. I reached out to Mercedes for some assistance and was told because the car wasnt serviced throughout its life by MB they were not willing to help with the cost of the part. $2,700.My next purchase of a Mercedes was a 2009 C63 AMG. These are high-performance, hand-built engines. I verified this vehicle had always been serviced at a MB dealership before I purchased it. Around 80,000 miles, I was driving down the interstate and was about to pass someone when a check engine light came on and my vehicle lost all power, we were lucky there was enough of a gap in the Houston traffic to pull over safely. The vehicle was towed to Mercedes and was there about 3 or 4 days before they called and told me a wiring harness for the fuel pump had shorted out and needed to be replaced. $700. It took them another 3-4 days to actually get the vehicle repaired. At about 85,000 miles I get a notification that my brakes need to be replaced. Call MB for a quote. $6,000.At about 90,000 miles a check engine light came on. It went off but soon after it returned. I took it to the Mercedes Dealership, 4 days later they call me and tell me my INTAKE MANIFOLD is cracked and needs to be replaced for $3,747.00. This is a hand-built performance engine, are you kidding me? I again reach out to MB USA with my concerns and looking for some assistance, they tell me the service records dont matter and its about 1. If I bought the car from Mercedes and 2. How many times I, myself have had the vehicle serviced by the dealership. From that they decide if they feel the need to help with the cost of the repairs. This part is obviously faulty and Mercedes would be embarrassed if I posted the pictures of the crack in this aluminum-alloy intake manifold and the bubbles forming in the weaker parts of the metal.I asked the Lead Technician what would cause something like this and his response was That would be a question better answered by an engineer. I am not saying all cars dont have their problems, I am saying most of us cant afford the problems Mercedes-Benz have. The parts, service, and maintenance required on these vehicles is extremely expensive and if something happens you better hope you have thousands of dollars laying around that you can use.

I have a 2012 GL450 with only 40k miles on it and I have had to have the front suspension replaced and/or fixed 2 times in a few months time. I researched if other owners have had this issue and yes it is a known problem since 2008. The MB dealer even knows of the issues this system has had. The problem is serious and is going to cause someone to lose a life or get hurt severely. The front suspension will just drop while you are driving and you receive a malfunction airmatic error on the dash. This seems to me a recall issue, but for some reason MB does not recall and fix the problem, until I guess a family loses a life. Fortunately my vehicle is still under warranty and they say they will fix it, but this is not my concern. My concern is that this issue is a real safety issue and the NHTSA needs to look into it. Look Takata stepped up and are fixing their faulty airbags, MB you need to fix your suspension systems before someone get hurt or killed.

Nightmare experience. Was so excited to get my GLA 2015 4 years ago. I had been warned about repair costs but it is outrageous! I was driving on the highway, the car stopped accelerating and smoke went out of the back. The check engine light never came on. I was informed that it needs a new turbo and a water pump, $4700, and there “might” be engine damage. Both have been replaced and the check engine light is now on and the car has been in the shop for two weeks. The mechanic does not seem to know what’s going on or when I will get my car back.
