2026 Mercedes-AMG GLA-Class

The 2026 Mercedes-AMG GLA-Class is the high-performance version of Mercedes-Benz’s smallest SUV, combining AMG engineering with compact practicality, luxury features, and strong turbocharged performance. It delivers sporty driving dynamics while remaining practical enough for everyday use.

Overview and Positioning.
The 2026 AMG GLA-Class serves as the entry point into AMG’s SUV lineup. It is designed for drivers who want a compact luxury SUV with noticeably more power and handling capability than the standard GLA.

The AMG GLA is available primarily in the GLA 35 4MATIC configuration, with some markets also receiving the more powerful GLA 45 variant. The GLA 35 balances performance and daily usability, making it appealing to a wide range of buyers.

Design and Exterior.
The AMG GLA-Class features a more aggressive and athletic design compared to the standard GLA.

It includes AMG-specific styling elements such as a distinctive grille, larger air intakes, sportier bumpers, and larger wheels. Quad exhaust outlets and aerodynamic enhancements reinforce its performance-oriented appearance.

Despite its compact dimensions, the AMG styling gives the vehicle a strong road presence.

The compact size also makes it easy to maneuver in urban environments while still offering SUV practicality.

Interior and Comfort.
Inside, the AMG GLA-Class offers a premium and modern cabin.

High-quality materials such as leather, aluminum, and microfiber trim create a sporty yet upscale atmosphere. AMG-specific details include performance seats, a flat-bottom steering wheel, and unique interior accents.

The cabin features dual digital displays, typically measuring 10.25 inches each, combining infotainment and instrumentation into a sleek integrated layout.

Seating is comfortable and supportive, making the vehicle suitable for both daily commuting and spirited driving.

Powertrain and Performance.
The 2026 AMG GLA 35 is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-4 engine paired with a mild hybrid system.

It produces approximately 302 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque.

The mild hybrid system provides an additional electric boost, improving responsiveness and smoothing out acceleration.

Power is delivered through an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and AMG’s 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system.

Acceleration from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour takes about 5.2 seconds, giving the compact SUV strong performance for its class.

Driving Experience.
The AMG GLA-Class delivers a sporty and engaging driving experience.

The steering is quick and responsive, while the adaptive suspension improves handling and body control. AMG’s all-wheel-drive system enhances grip and stability, particularly in wet or snowy conditions.

Drivers can choose between multiple drive modes, including Comfort, Sport, and Sport+, adjusting throttle response, suspension behavior, and transmission settings.

While the suspension is firmer than the standard GLA, it still remains comfortable enough for everyday driving.

Technology and Features.
The 2026 AMG GLA-Class includes advanced technology and connectivity features.

The infotainment system supports smartphone integration, navigation, and voice controls. Mercedes-Benz’s MBUX system allows natural voice commands and customizable displays.

Driver assistance systems include adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, lane keeping assist, and automated emergency braking.

Additional available features include ambient lighting, premium audio systems, and a head-up display.

Practicality.
The AMG GLA-Class remains practical despite its performance focus.

It seats five passengers and offers a useful cargo area for groceries, luggage, or sports equipment. The rear seats can fold down to expand cargo capacity.

Its compact dimensions make it especially well-suited for city driving and parking.

Fuel Efficiency.
Fuel economy is relatively reasonable for a performance SUV.

The small-displacement turbocharged engine and mild hybrid system help improve efficiency compared to larger AMG models, though performance remains the primary focus.

Pricing and Positioning.
The 2026 AMG GLA-Class is positioned as one of the more accessible AMG vehicles.

Pricing typically starts around the 60,000 dollar range depending on market and options.

It competes with compact performance luxury SUVs such as the BMW X2 M35i and Audi SQ3 in global markets.

Pros.
Strong turbocharged performance.
Compact size makes it easy to drive in cities.
Premium interior with advanced technology.
All-wheel drive improves year-round usability.
Sporty styling and handling.

Cons.
Ride can feel firm on rough roads.
Rear-seat space is somewhat limited.
Dual-clutch transmission can feel abrupt at low speeds.
Can become expensive with options.

Final Thoughts.
The 2026 Mercedes-AMG GLA-Class delivers an impressive mix of luxury, practicality, and sporty performance in a compact SUV package. It offers enough everyday usability for commuting and family duties while still providing the excitement expected from an AMG model.

When my vehicle hit 50k miles, everything in my car went inoperable. The vehicle starts but thats it, cannot take out of park. I contacted Mercedes and was told I would have to tow my vehicle to the dealership and Im looking at a minimum of $2500 to diagnose the problem. Of course the warranty expired at 50k miles. Im stuck and at a loss. If anyone has had similar problems with their C250 I would love to hear what it was.

This is my first time owning a Mercedes and I must say, it has been thoroughly disappointing!! Heres my issues with the Manufacturer and the Car: This is a plug-in hybrid so I expect it to charge at any Charge Point locations available. My C350e DOES NOT charge at my work location - I have 8 Charge Point stations here, none of them work for my car!! The charging stations work for 15+ different models though with no issues - Nissan Leaf, Chevy Bolt, Volt, Prius, Ford, BMW i3, i8... The list goes on. But my Mercedes WOULD NOT charge here. And when I call Mercedes Customer Service they told me as long as it charges at home thats all they care about. The Charge Point stations is not their concern. I used to own a VW eGolf and I charged it at work for last 3 years without any issues. My primary reason for choosing the Mercedes C350e model was to receive the HOV lane sticker for it, Mercedes Pleasanton dealer told me they take care of DMV forms for it - this was great to hear. Exactly 2 months after the purchase of my car, I heard back from DMV that Mercedes has sent outdated form for the HOV lane sticker. Now I have lost 2 months time due to inefficient people working at the dealership!! The clock starts again now! Mercedes has an App for iPhone which can help with many functionalities of the car - called Mbrace. I wasnt able to link my car to my account for several days. Mercedes and Mbrace customer service kept blaming each other for the issues with the App - finally it got resolved when I had to take them on a conference call.In general I have noticed that Mercedes has silos within their customer service department - instead of providing solutions to customers they provide the GO-TO info and their phone numbers to me. This is very frustrating and I did not experience it with my other cars - VW, BMW, Toyota, Honda etc. Overall its my first time owning a Mercedes and so far I am yet to receive 1 satisfying answer from their customer service department. I wish there was a way to return this car!! Do I have any options?

Buyers beware! You may run into the same problems that I have with a 2013 E-Class Sedan. The car (VIN=**) was delivered on 31 Dec 2012 and shortly thereafter developed a problem with the SmartKey. Take my word for it smart this key aint. It works best when at the dealer, when I first reported that problem with the unreliability the reaction was. This guy is a nut. Always very politely but the message was clear. Fortunately the system fail during a non-related service visit at the dealer. That did initiate some more investigation, after several visits to replace door handles, antennas, etc. the key not detected message, failure to lock or unlock still exists. The final straw was when it was determined that the problem was the clothes I wear. The recommended fix was to use a leather cover over the SmartKey. That failed to make any difference so I have given up and decided to live with the issue until the warranty expires. At that time I decided that the only reason buying a Mercedes could be justified is to impress your neighbors. Because I could care less what my neighbors think. Once this car is traded it will be replaced with ANYTHING but a Mercedes. The other issue is the GPS that must have been designed by a high school student. To update to the latest maps you have to wait until the maps for your car are released. It is astoundingly idiotic that the maps for every year, body style and class are different. Not only that for less than half of the update cost you can buy a Garmin that includes the GPS unit and lifetime maps that have markedly superior performance. So much for German engineering. Having said that, the car is a pleasure to drive on the highway, the roadability and comfort can not be criticized.

My name is Ahmed ** and I am from Saudi Arabia. I am writing to your esteemed company because I believe you care about your customers and their relationship with you. I experienced some issues with my new SLK 250 2012 (WDDPK4HAXCF042129). I had recently gotten home from work and then about 1 hour later, I tried to leave my house with the SLK. When I left in the middle of the road, it started to shack. At first, I thought it was the tire. It never occurred to me anything else since it is only been 8 days since I purchased it. After that I slowed down and parked a side then the engine went off. I turned off the electrical system and then started the car again. This time, the engine tried turning over, but did not “catch” and the car died again. The third time I went to start the car, the engine came on and made a very strange “gurgling” sound like it wasnt getting enough throttle/gas. So I gave the car a bit of “gas” by slowly pushing down on the accelerator pedal and the engine caught, but then quickly died. All this time, the instrument cluster was “fluttering”. The RPM needle was bouncing between 0 & 1k rpms very quickly (5-6 times per second). No warnings on the instrument cluster either. I gave up and called a truck to bring the car to the local dealer service center.I know that Mercedes-Benz is very concerned about its reputation but I was shocked by the way I have been treated by our local dealer here in Saudi Arabia (Juffali). For someone who just purchased a car, I was expecting more consideration. Moreover, they did not provide a substitute car for me which has a very strong impact on me being using public transportation instead of using my brand new car.

I highly recommend Mercedes-Benz. I have 1996 w124 250d with the OM615 engine non turbo version for last 3 years, currently 500,000 km or even more. No problems with it, everything works smoothly like it was built yesterday. Fuel consumption is great 6.5l/100km on motorway. I love the suspension in this car, it feels like driving on a cloud. I would say that its one of the best engineered cars ever made. Car is very reliable and never had any major issues with it. Also service parts are not expensive and widely available and doing service or even changing brakes is very intuitive and doesnt cause any trouble so everyone who owns set of basic tools can do it. I understand that the car is almost 20 years old and some people might think its awful and ugly, I suppose its up to individual taste. I personally love old-school cars. Used to own 1990 BMW e30 325i, 1991 VW Golf gti and 2000 BMW E46 320, them cars where not bad and it was fun driving them. But w124 gives me so much driving pleasure.

I have a problem with one of the vehicles we have bought with Mercedes and
I have a problem with one of the vehicles we have bought with Mercedes and I would really appreciate assistance in solving this problem. I have bought all my Mercedes from Mercedes-Benz Angelopolis. I submitted a letter to the dealer and they told me that they have not received answer from Mercedes. To date, we have seven Mercedes vehicles and none of these had experienced problems before or had manufacturers defects except for this Class A-190. The vehicles we own are: one Class ML 350, two Classes ML 500, one Class A 190, one Class C, and one Smart. The only reason we have continued with the brand was the durability and the confidence that the vehicles gave us; it was reliable, as what I used to say. The vehicle, Class A-190, which has the problem has just 30,000.00 miles. I cannot conceive that a Mercedes has major problems with such a short mileage. I insist that the only reason Im still buying Mercedes is because of the supposed level of quality and service life of the vehicles. I hereby, request this to be reported to the plant in Germany and to repair the vehicle at no cost. Its not a Chevy, GM or a Ford; its a Mercedes. Its what the vendor say when you are paying extra money for a Mercedes, and it should last as a Mercedes. My wife almost never use this car. If this is what we expect from the brand, it is cheaper to buy an Atos or any other car and change it every three years. I have been its most faithful advertiser because I always trusted the brand. I hope this will be resolved. 30,000.00 miles are nothing for a Mercedes transmission. I definitely want to stay with them but in no way I will accept them trying to rip me off. This transmission came defective from the beginning. Four years ago, we started to buy other brands for a couple of problems we had with the service; while Ford and GM, are still a mess, at least Toyota has given us good service. Last year, we bought back with them the Class C and the Smart. A couple of days ago, we were evaluating to buy another Class ML-500, but after this, we do not know what to think. It really upsets me that Mercedes ends up being as good as a Chevy and in theory charges me extra money for a quality that does not exist. Please give me a favorable solution to this issue as quickly as possible. If not, then tell me what to do.I wont buy a Mercedez Again and I will suggest that everybody chose another brand.

I bought my C300 back in 2010 from Walters in Riverside, CA with two year extended warranty. I paid $3000 extra. At that time, Vincent, the agent who sold the car to me said that the seat covers were made from genuine leather. But last year the seat panels on driver side and passenger seat in the back were torn apart right where the stitches were. I went to the dealership in Fresno, CA, but they could not help neither the MB headquarter in New Jersey. I rolled back the cover and found it was made from vinyl. The C300 manual says the seat cover is made of genuine leather and the interior trim is made of wood. These are not true. MB is being dishonest and lied to me. I found on the internet that a lot of customers were reporting the same problem. I am still waiting for the defective airbag to be replaced. MB wants people either forget about the safety issue, die naturally or sell their cars.

My thoughts about Mercedes Benz Financial and Customer Care Im completely unhappy, disenchanted and disappointed with Mercedes Benz Financial and Mercedes Benz Customer Care. To give you a timeline of events I leased a brand new AMG C 43 2019 MB on February 9th 2019 and exactly 3 days later the engine light went on and as of today February 26th the Mercedes Benz mechanics have yet been able to remove the engine light. Hence as of today my out pocket costs have been over 5,000 not including the ceramic tints I put on the new car all for nothing. At this point I have filed a grievance with Mercedes Benz Customer service and they have commenced the Buy Back Process which they say takes 24 hour period before someone can reach out to me. That was 4 days ago and still no call or email from someone from Mercedes Benz to address my concerns absolutely ridiculous. All the while all I have heard in regards to customer service is, Mr. ** you have to understand we didnt manufacturer the car, you signed a contract. Excuse me, yes I did sign a lease agreement but at this point services have not been rendered and in order to have an agreement and or contract both parties should act professionally and with high business standards and morals. Mercedes Benz USA should own this and be accountable for me being inconvenienced. It is now February 28th and still no car, and not one senior level executive has reached to me to make this right. Throughout this process the lack of responsiveness and customer service mentality as been lacking and definitely in question. Ultimately the sad part is that I still dont have a brand new car and what was supposed to be a proud day in my life has turned out to be a nightmare. E. **. Not sure at this point if I should cut my losses and to Audi. My feeling that I have lost faith in the Mercedes Benz brand. It would have been nice if a a senior executive would have had the decency to call me personally and claim ownership regarding my experience with MB Financial as well as customer care.

As a first time lease owner of my fist Mercedes C-class this was a huge disappointment. Prepaid for 2 services at the beginning of the lease just to find out that they expire 2 years after and not by the end of the lease how they made me think. Was only less than a month after my expiration that I took car for service B and now on top of my already paid $500 I must pay again. This is beyond dishonest and most terrible customer treatment Ive ever encountered. Called the office and spoke to Juan who was only able to get a partial credit for the service I now have to pay for the second time. How would you like paying for service twice? Also, on the phone with Mercedes customer service I was blackmailed by Juan (phone number: **) not to write my honest review about this situation or they would take away even the partial credit they just gave me that only partially covers my second charge for the same service I already paid for when I signed up for the lease! It was so unprofessional and disgusting to be blackmailed to stay away from writing this honest review that made me even more compelled to do so because I want to warn all future unsuspected new customers of how they will be treated as well. I will not be buying my future vehicles from them and so is my family. I only want to give my business to places that truly appreciate their customers and with lots of great competitors out there it will be easy to do. You dont want to be tricked, lied to, especially as a first time customer into something that will screw you later and they wont even care about it. Everyone should know before becoming a customer of theirs that they treat their customers in the worst possible manner without any care and with great amount of unprofessionalism by blackmailing them to speak the truth. Did not expect this coming from this car maker of this magnitude but be warned and stay away.

2017 Mercedes GLC300 GPS is horrible and dangerous. It tells you, Prepare to turn left/right, but doesnt say when, or what street, or what lane. It gives the street or off ramp 500. I advance only. So when I went into right lane & its a right turn only lane so I have to turn but thats not where I was to go! This happens constantly. When I was in HOV lane of freeway GPS said, Exit freeway, but cant from HOV lane. Also on freeway it says, Prepare to exit right, so I go into right lane but the correct lane was 3rd from right lane. THIS GPS WILL CAUSE ACCIDENTS!Additionally to input request you have to go through multiple steps. The MB service staff says its cumbersome & they dont use it on their cars. It also says some roads are not mapped. IF YOU BUY A MB GLC300, DONT PAY EXTRA FOR THE GPS. I now have a Garmin on my dash after spending 2-3K on the MB GPS. The wire is 00Pl Lo. Ugly & it partially blocks my vision but at least it gets me where I want to go safely.

I bought a new car (supposed to be), a Mercedes C180 in October 2009. After one year, the right shock absorber has been changed. I told the maintenance service provider in Alexandria, Abis that they have to change the 2 shock absorbers (as I am a mechanical and marine engineer and I have some knowledge of mechanical issues). Anyway, they changed just the right one.4 months later, the left shock absorber was damaged (and its normal). So we have to change the left shock absorber. But really, they changed the 2 front shock absorbers finally. Then 3 months later, the car didnt start up in the morning. The service said it was the injection pump. Ok, Im still in the guarantee limit. The car still didnt reach 30,000 km. They said that it is my fault as the fuel was not clean and there was water in it. Ok, I paid around 3000 Egyptian pounds. 3 days later in the morning, the car didnt start up. So the service came, and they said it is the fuel pump again. Is that logical?! The guarantee of fuel pumps is 6 months, so I have to buy it again. The car is now 40,000 km in almost 2 years and a half. Do I have to change 3 shock absorbers and 2 fuel pumps in two years and half?! Dear sir, I bought a Mercedes Benz car, not a logo of Mercedes..Thank you.

A year ago I purchased my first Mercedes, a 2010 Mercedes Benz, GLK350. My first foreign car. The car has been driven less than 3500 miles by me. I get into the car over a week ago and the light comes on in the dash (Frontal SRS/airbag). The car will not start. The AAA service came and tried to jump me, with no success in getting the car started. He tested the battery and replied and showed me that my battery was great. Your mechanic looked at the car, after I had it towed to your dealership) and Chris informed me that the battery was no good. (The mechanic stated he could not see what was wrong until I purchased the battery.) And wanted to charge me $500.00. We all know, with common sense, that comment was incorrect.I’ve always known, if I bought a foreign car, I had to know my rights and become very knowledgeable of the Model/Make. So I maintain counsel. I remembered the recall of the airbag and airbag sensor. I noticed the rear taillight not working (A possible symptom due to faulty pyro-fuse.) If the car has a pyro-fuse and this fuse is not properly working, there is no way to start the car. It is not difficult to change the pyro-fuse but the SRS system might need a reset. Also if the issue was at the pre-fuse box. The frontal module has harmed other electrical parts on my car and need replacement. Chris informed me that the problem was possibly the pre-fuse box and it needed to be replaced and my total cost is $1300-1400. He also stated that they were not sure that the pre-fuse was my problem. There could be other issues, but I must pay for the box first before they could find out definitely. I informed him of the recall and he stated the recalls had nothing to do with the pre-fuse box. I requested that he at least repair the recall items. The parts of the recall, he states, are pending. So I find people have died because of this recall, per legal counsel, including the defected rear tail light. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN.I AM REQUESTING THE FOLLOWING: For this service expense to be applied to either recall or manufacturer including the battery cost and replacement. Whatever sensor is faulty, the battery was drained. Return my old battery and the pre-fuse box. Make arrangements for a loaner until recall parts are in and replaced Hire employees who are professionally experienced, compassionate, knowledgeable, honest and not greedy to take extra money home to care for his family (per the attendant). If one possesses the traits requested, his sales will increase tremendously.

Never again will I buy a new Mercedes. Our 2011 ML350 has only 22,000 on it as of today. We use it for vacation trips only and it is stored in a climate controlled garaged when not in use. We have had three major repairs in the 22,000 miles, mostly sensors failing that made drivability terrible. Also had to have a new computer installed after several trips to various MB dealers who could not seem to diagnose the problem.Latest problem is bad rattling noise from the front suspension. I took the car to an independent mechanic who has a stellar reputation who diagnosed the problem as upper front strut mounting failure. This was at 17,000 miles and in preparation for a trip to Florida we had scheduled and wanted to be sure it was safe to drive. On that trip I took it to a dealer in Raleigh, NC where our daughter lives to have it repaired (We have no dealer within 100 miles of us here). The dealer verified the strut problem and quoted over $1800 to repair, which was a shock to me as I assumed at 22,000 miles that the warranty would cover this. We were told the time on our warranty had expired by just a little bit and it would not be covered by warranty. I called MB USA and tried to get it covered since it was such low mileage on the car. They would only allow a 40% discount on the repair. I then took the car to the earlier mentioned mechanic who did the repairs for less than the 40% off price at MB dealers. Never again will we buy a MB or have this one repaired by a MB dealer. The build quality on this car is about as bad as owning a Yugo. I have much experience on automotive builds as my hobby is restoring antique cars and building hot rods. I have built several cars from the frame up and currently own two hot rods built that way (1953 Ford F-100 and a 1934 Chevrolet). The car club I belong to is who recommended the local mechanic I use now for all maintenance on my newer cars when I dont have time or equipment to do it myself. The MB was purchased by my wife as her car and we expected much more from such a high priced vehicle. Highly disappointed in Mercedes-Benz.

2016 Mercedes Benz GLC 300 49K miles. Cracked piston. Should not happen with an engine at this low of miles. There are hundreds of posts on the issue over several years of this happening. MB corporate refuses to be proactive and recall. If you are one of the unfortunate ones who has this happen just out of warranty expect a 14 to 24K repair bill. If you are still in warranty have compression checked and research issue.

I am very disappointed about how Mercedes-Benz being so irresponsible of the subpar products which they do not stand behind. My friend purchased a brand new Sprinter back in 2017. After less than a year and just over 24K miles, the car had failed to accelerate with very noticeable knocking noise coming from engine compartment. My friend took it to Mercedes-Benz of Brooklyn and was given a lame explanation of cause by water buildup. He was given an estimate of almost $30K to replace the whole engine assembly. How ridiculous! The price tag for the truck is about 60K and less than a year and under 25K miles later, it needs a new engine! I can never imagine a brand name like Mercedes-Benz would produce a subpar product like this and yet refuses to stand behind. I do not think it is the right approach to retain existing customers and attracting new customers. I would give 5 thumbs down if I had the choice.

Have been having different issues with vibration on braking, worn front tires. Ive had my Mercedes S550 since 4/14 and I brought it into service 3 weeks ago to check the vibration and pulling to right. Service Tech. informs me its supposed to pull to right some and tire looked fine, dont need new tires. I just returned for my B service and Service calls to tell me I need 2 new front tires. Only $980 for 2 tires! I am furious. Needless to say I wont be replacing with Continental MOEs because of all the bad news out there about them and I wont be purchasing from Mercedes Benz! I do have photos for reference.

We purchased a Mercedes Benz Gl 450 for a total of over $47,000 in July 2019 and in addition to the car having warranty up to 50,000 miles, we purchased an additional service/repair package for $1,800.00. We spent all that money with an expectation of safety, reliability and the peace of mind promised by mercedes benzs multi point inspection, warranty up to 50,000 miles and the extra repair package that we purchased. Recently we noticed that when we first start driving the car has a noise on the right side, the noise is most noticeable when applying the brake and when releasing the brake. On December 2nd, we took the car to Mercedes Benz of Valencia and to say that the service department staff was UNWILLING TO HELP is a gross understatement. The service manager was derelict of his responsibility. First he said there was no loaner vehicle available therefore, no one could examine our car, when in fact I had called twice to confirm that a loan vehicle would be available to us when making the appointment. Then second he said nothing could be done to examine the noise in our car because the car had been in an accident, therefore warranty was not attached, but could not show me any of that in writing. Further, the accident was a minor one with only minor body damage which amounted to a $3,400 repair job and no engine damage was sustained. We stressed on multiple occasions that we needed to establish whether the noise was engine related or a result of accident related body damage. They eventually did agree to keep the car for examination, they called the following day on December 3rd and told us to come and get the car. Bill the service representative stated that they heard the noise when applying the brake and said there is nothing they can do because the brakes on the car are new and that they do not know what is causing the noise nor what could be wrong with the car. We are concerned and, worried about our safety, not to mention flabbergasted that the auto manufacturers employees are unwilling to diagnose the problem and are demonstrating a blatant disregard for brand integrity or customer safety. There was no report given to on what type of examination or assessment if any at all was performed on the car. There was no print out of areas examined and findings observed, it appears they kept or car overnight and called us in the morning to fetch it. Given that brakes are a very important part of vehicle operation we are shocked that the service department has displayed such a lackadaisical attitude towards a potential safety risk. We purchased the car which has up to 50,000 mile warranty or 7 years whichever occurs first and the additional repair package for peace of mind expecting to get the proper service that would address any issues and instead we were told by the vehicle manufacturer service department that there is nothing they can do and further they do not know what is causing the malfunction in a car manufactured by Mercedes and covered by a 50,000 mile warranty. There is something very wrong with that.

MERCEDES GL 350 MANUFACTURED 2012. I purchased the above vehicle from you in January 2013. In October 2013, for the first time, the dash displayed the warning LR Consult Workshop (see attachment). It has taken Laughtons 5 months to identify the problem and I am now advised another 3 weeks to fix it. This is a totally unacceptable level of service. I am also advised that the earliest I will have the car repaired by is Friday 11th July.Since Im leaving for my annual holiday on the 12th, I have no confidence my vehicle will be ready in time whatsoever. I have been further advised that a loan vehicle from you would not be insured for driving in Europe and is therefore of no use to me. I have therefore to revert to my position of two weeks ago when I wrote: I give notice that unless this fault is fixed by the 30th June 2014, then I will ask you for a permanent replacement vehicle of an equal or superior specification. I bought a new 2012 CLK 350 MB from Myrtle Beach Automotive. Air conditioner did not work (came from factory not working). After 1 week in service center, I received the car back. I met with GM **, Service Manager **, and Service and Parts Operations Manager ** out of the corporate office in Jacksonville, Florida about receiving another new car, extending my warranty, or refunding my money. ** went on to tell me he had the power to do whatever he deemed necessary to keep me the customer happy and the dealership in which he also represented. Long story short, he did nothing but lose a customer for life. And now for peace of mind for me and wife, we are probably going to be spending another 3 to 4 grand on an extended warranty because we are concerned that we have purchased a lemon. I sure wish I would have read all the reviews before purchasing a MB.

Still arguing with #Mercedes about the mold building up and smell in the AC
Still arguing with #Mercedes about the mold building up and smell in the AC system on the 2016 GLC300. Had this issue since new! They will not stand behind their products even though there’s a class action lawsuit. Everything in the lawsuit says they have to pay for future repairs, yet every dealer refuses to do it. Any attempt of remediation results in being re-read the terms of the settlement, and then transferred all over the place until there’s no solution. I have two Mercedes I bought new: an E300 in 2017 and a GLC300 in 2016. These will be my LAST Mercedes cars. Their brand name and the premium costs you pay mean nothing as they do NOT support their customers or the products they make. I will be replacing my cars with Tesla or another luxury brand going forward. Keep losing customers MB!

I am so incredibly happy that I have chosen to purchase a Mercedes. I was on the fence a long time about it. My overall experience was pleasant. Im so thankful to have a car that I can trust to get me from point A to B. Its so reliable. I love all of its features. It has leather heated seats, great sound system, fancy sunroof for stargazing without being exposed to mosquitoes. I also trust the safety features it has. The rear wheel drive is the only thing I dont like about it, it is very difficult to drive on snowy conditions with rear wheel drive. If you are expecting to get up a snowy, icy hill, you better get a running start and hope its good enough.

Im one of the unfortunate people that purchased not one but two vehicles that fell into the terrible HVAC issue (2015-2018). I had a 2015 GLK and now have a 2018 GLE. Both have the known issue of the horrible vinegar, mildew smell that comes out of the AC every single time you turn it on. There was a class action lawsuit that required them to fix this issue, but they find loopholes and of course their technicians cannot explain why my car isnt covered, even though my VIN clearly shows that it should be covered. After Dec 2020 you were supposed to be able to go into a dealership and have the problem fixed.I took my car to the dealership in Pleasanton, CA, the service coordinator confirmed the smell immediately. After looking at the car she called to say the tech also identified immediately but then went on to say it wasnt covered... but couldnt explain why. After she had told me that they had in fact fixed several vehicles with the same issue a few months prior... my EXACT model and year.I contact Mercedes Benz USA. After reviewing my complaint they offered a goodwill credit of $300... towards a $613 repair. They said they considered customer loyal, the age of the car, service, etc. So Im not sure why I didnt fall under that umbrella... Ive had 2 MBs, I sent over all service records, my car only has 50k miles... and I worked for Mercedes in my 20s in the SERVICE department filing claims. I am the definition of customer loyalty. This is just a slap in the face. It took me over 20 years to finally buy my first Mercedes (I had wanted one since working at the dealership) and its an accomplishment, I should be proud of my vehicle. But Im embarrassed to have people ride in it. This is supposed to be a luxury vehicle and it smells rancid.I am so disappointed that they would rather lose a customer and their reputation over a few hundred dollars. They clearly do not stand by their product or their customer service relationships. I would completely understand if this was just MY car but it affected over 2 million cars and covered 3 years... I ended up with 2 of them and I cant even get one of them fixed. Needless to say Im done, its just the principle of bad business, I dont believe in it. I support those that support me. I feel cheated.

Perhaps the best description come from the dealers who have worked on my car: Your car looks like new inside and out; your car drives like new; you dont need a new car; and recently, May we put our name plate on your car. Comments from consumers have been better than those of the dealers. My comment is that I am grateful for the privilege of owning and operating this vehicle! It has been cared for very well by its past and current owners.

Traction in the snow is unbelievable. This car is just a pleasure to drive year round, fuel economy is great.

2012 GL350 blue - An absolute nightmare of epic proportions. Purchased new from my dealer to drive to Georgia. Drove the following day to GA and back. Noticed oil all over my garage floor. Called dealer immediately and took in. Told loose oil line. This continued to happen four more times. Drove car very little. Had two other cars. One week before I was due to turn in was driving it and check engine light came on. Called dealer. Said couldnt get me in. To keep driving it, that it probably was just a bad sensor and happens all the time. I parked it over the weekend and didnt drive it. Following Monday took it to take my daughter to dentist, dash lights flash, power steering goes out, car is dead. Had towed to my dealer. Was told engine full of sludge. Engine blown and they can fix it for $30,000.00. Words cannot express my feelings in buying a $70,000 car and having a blown engine at 26,000 miles with no warranty. This happened in August. I renewed my lease and took to a certified garage for repairs. Came home to an orange notice two days before Christmas from a repo agent. I called immediately. No one would answer. Left two messages. Called MBFS said they were no longer going to honor the lease extension and want the car back. I explained to them the car is being fixed. You know where it is and have the whole time. They agreed. Such a horrible nightmare. Made all my payments. Fixing car which was not my fault to begin with. Have all records of leak from my dealership, also the oil all over my garage floor (lucky for me my dealership did provide me with degreaser as their solution to get the oil off the floor, which it didnt), also have letter from Mercedes wanting to take my car to their proving grounds in Ann Arbor Michigan; that they are running test on the Blue engine from 2012. I would appreciate anyones help. Too many details to list all here. Most unbelievable. So utterly devastated.

I currently own a 2006 SL500 with 41k miles on it. The vehicle is very well taken care of and barely looks used. I took the vehicle to the dealership and the valve body needs to be replaced at $2000.00. The bad thing is the part is not even at the dealership - it has to be ordered from Germany. I called the dealership to see if they would be willing to cover the repair even though it is out of warranty and they say call MBUSA. I called MBUSA and I got the response that we need to call the dealership and speak to them. She then proceeded to tell me that I was not a loyal customer and that they may not cover the repair of the vehicle. I said what do you consider a loyal customer, someone who has bought 3 Mercedes Benzes and is a member of the Mercedes Club or is it someone that does not own a Mercedes? The point is Mercedes Benz is not loyal to their customers and treat them rudely when it comes to getting things done. I probably will not buy another Mercedes.

My daughter bought a Mercedes Benz four years ago and I co-signed on it. I have never made a payment on it and she has paid every month. Last winter when they were having some financial problems, she was late with a payment. From that point on every month that she is one minute late with her payment, although still in the 15 day grace period, we get harassment calls. They start at 8:00 in the morning and again at dinner time. This month, she made a payment on the 7th and they are still calling every day, twice a day to both of us and it is the 28th. What the hell is the matter with you people? Financial Services lost a payment in May and it took them four months to find it. In the meantime, they are calling every day for that May payment that they already had. I have never seen such Mafia techniques in any company in all my 69 years not to mention a poorly run financial department that cannot keep track of the payments that are made and lose some of them and then start harassing customers for their own mistakes. I would never buy a Mercedes Benz product just based on your financial services harassment tactics. There is no reason for this kind of treatment. I intend to contact every consumer complaint organization I can find and send them a copy of this letter online, offline, by mail, and any other way possible.

I am having the same issue with Mercedes Benz Walnut Creek, CA. My check engine light came on within a few days of purchasing the car. The salesman Jimmy ** says that the previous owner told him that when you put gas in the light went off and sent me on my way. I came in twice more with the same complaint only to be sent away again. A short time later the cel stayed on. Eventually I had to get my car registered and have the car smogged. The smog place so the cel on and would do no more work. He suggested that I take the car back to MBWC where I purchased the car. I had an extended warranty that canceled but was told it could still be used. I was given a loaner car for a month but when MB could not get paid with the extended warranty they took the loaner back with no charge. I thought this strange. I called the general manager to discuss with him. After he spoke with his people he told me what his people said but did not have an ear for anything I had to say. My car has been at the MBWC dealership since April and after calling AGAIN general manager called to tell me they had not realized my car was still there and that after a couple of days they would start charging me storage. The last attorney I spoke to told me I didnt have a case because the amount of money I would get would not be enough to cover his attorney fees. He is greedy. I am still making payments on my car. Also result of the cel being on the problem with the transmission was missed. I now need another transmission which I got an estimate of $2200+ and the cam shaft issue $7000+. I really need help. There is a lot more but so much to type. Is there anyone willing to help steer me in the right direction?

I bought my 2006 ML500 in 2011. The car had previously been in a car accident so we were expecting some minor issues, as the larger ones had been fixed. What we were not expecting, however, was over $20,000 in repairs. Not only have we spent so much money at one Mercedes dealership, we had absolute awful service. Three weeks ago, my ML500 began shaking and wouldnt accelerate right away. We went into Mercedes expecting to get our problem fixed, and were told theyd do it for $1,600. We were so fed up with it that we just went ahead and paid for it. I picked up my car a couple of days later and started driving, and it seemed fine. The next day, the problem arose again, except the shaking became extremely worse. At this point, I dont even know what to do with this vehicle, and am so shocked that we paid $1,600 and nothing was fixed. I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND BUYING A MERCEDES. I own a Toyota truck and have received extremely better service paying less than half the price!! Not worth it!! Go for a Lexus or Acura instead!

I am writing this letter to state my displeasure with having to replace the front rotors on my 2011 Mercedes E350 Blutec with only 30,584 miles. This is our fifth Mercedes starting in 2007 with an E320, a C320, E320 CDI, CLK350 and the current E350 Blutec. Each car was driven about 15,000 miles per year by both drivers, averaging 70% highway, 30% local. We have never had any problem with brakes, rotors or anything in that area. Our current Mercedes E350 Blutec has the sport package. On September 12, 2012, we had the front right tire replaced because we hit a pot hole that ruptured the sidewall of the tire. The tire was replaced by Quirk Mercedes of Bangor Maine, mileage 26,375.A summary of the succeeded maintenance By Brumos Mercedes of Jacksonville, FL follows: Service on October 17, 2012, car mileage 29339, for regular Flex A Diesel special. Right rear tire found to be worn bald. We ended up putting 3 new tires on the car. Total bill is $1,156.45. Service on November 12, 2012, car mileage 30,584. Incoming customer complaint: Very noticeable heavy vibration appears at most highway speeds. Service checked balance on all tires. The 3 that Brumos replaced checked okay. The RF tire that was replaced on September 14, 2012 by Quirk Mercedes of Bangor Maine needed to be rebalanced. Post service comment: There is a brake vibration at highway speeds coming from the front rotors. A cost estimate to replace both front brake rotors (brakes pulsate when applied) of $535.90. Total bill is $24.88. We now have a time period when we did not drive the Mercedes very much. Service on March 8, 2013, mileage 31,569. Note from last service visit: We discovered a noticeable vibration that appears when the brakes are applied at 35MPH and higher speeds. Customer has felt the same condition in the steering and in the drivers seat. The tech stated it needed front rotors. Service note 31580 found front brake rotors with excessive rotor run out causing a vibration when braking. The tech then replaced the front rotors, front pads and new sensor. Road checked okay. Bill total is $556.16. Our service advisor, who we like very much, informed us that the run out or warping is most likely caused by overheated brakes that cool unevenly such as keeping the brakes applied in the same spot after stopping or running through water with hot brakes. Nowhere in the Mercedes manual is this discussed.I would think that the excellence of German engineering would design rotors that would stand up to these conditions. I hesitate to declare a design flaw, but perhaps the design margins have been compromised for some other consideration. In any event, I really do not want to face another rotor replacement in another 30,000 miles.

2014 GLK 350 with 7k miles, I bought certified last month. My 8-year daughter didnt closed door properly, I took car off parking lot and came to street then sudden beeps with picture indicating door is open. I tried to find a spot to stop and close the door, just missed being rear ended because of this. Customer service told that car will only alert you about this when moving 5-10 miles an hour and driver is responsible for making sure all doors are locked properly before shifting out of park. What a luxury, what to alert to driver if car is already on street with speed and what driver can do. The technology is built into car to alert driver but too late. It should alert before driver starts moving and to top of bad design if driver door is not closed properly and driver tries to close it properly with moving slowly, some pressure on brake the transmission shift to park. Why it is shifting to park to make car stall even if driver dont expect to completely stop and just closing door properly while moving in very slow motion. Also ECO mode engine does not stop more than 80% of time with no A/C running. They should change design of alerting drivers beforehand about loose doors or trunk, it is not 19s car. Probably if this is not taken care of, never Mercedes again for me and my friends.

It is my duty as a member of my community to issue this public service announcement. Please read and think carefully before buying or leasing any Mercedes vehicles. My wife had always dreamed of driving a Mercedes. After months of shopping around for the best model, I finally surprised her with an E350 in November 2013. Unfortunately, within one month a bubble was formed on the front passenger tire and it ended up popping while I was driving 30mph on a date night with my wife. I brought it into Mercedes to be serviced and I was assured that this does not happen often, so they replaced it for free. After this first incident, I was a bit wary but still was optimistic that her car was safe to drive.About a month later, my wife was driving alone late in the evening on her way to a class when she hit a minor pothole and both her front tires popped. My wife immediately panicked, because she was stuck in New Rochelle, pulled off to a road late at night and had to wait two hours in the cold for a tow truck to come. During this long wait, she noticed hundreds of cars driving over the same road that were not affected. This was the last time she ever drove this car alone.Through the spring, I continued to notice bubbles appearing on the tires. In March of 2014, there was a bubble on the front and rear passenger sides of my car, which both had to be replaced. This brought the count up to 5 tires in 4 months. By April, there was another bubble on the front passenger which brought the count up to 6, so 6 new tires within 5 months. Im 52 years old, and have driven over a dozen cars in my lifetime and I have never experienced anything like this. Every time I would bring my car into Mercedes I was told that my car was safe and this shouldnt happen again. In September of 2014, around 9 months into my Mercedes experience there was yet another bubble forming on the front passenger side of my car. As usual, I brought my car in to be serviced and they assured me that this would not happen again. I was skeptic, but I needed a car to get to work, so I continued to drive the E350, which had become my car after my wifes traumatic experience with it.The winter was a long, brutal one so I tried to avoid driving the Mercedes as much as I could. Once the snow cleared up, I started to drive it more regularly and of course in the second week of March, I noticed a bubble on both the front and rear passenger sides of the car. Ive become an expert on these situations, so as per usual, I brought it into Mercedes to be serviced. Less than a week later, I was with my wife, and her friend who has a newborn child when the car hit a pothole on the freeway. The front passenger tire popped, and the three other tires had bubbles that had to be replaced. We had to sit on the highway, with a newborn child and wait 40 minutes for a tow truck to come and rescue us from this madness. During this 40 minutes, with the baby crying and my wife and her friend in fear that another car could crash into us as we waited on the highway, I observed that no other car had any issues driving over those potholes. My tire count was now 13 tires in16 months. 9 days later, I was driving home at night around 10PM and yet again another tire blew. Although Im young at heart, I can no longer deal with the stress and fear of driving this luxury car. I had previously owned or leased many different brands of luxury cars including Lexuss and Audis and I have never experienced anything like. After every one of these occurrences I called Mercedes and asked if there was any way I could get a new model car that wouldnt have this issue or end my lease short, and they continuously blew me off. After my 14th tire had to be replaced, I called Mercedes corporate to alert them of this issue and to my surprise they werent alarmed and didnt seem to think this was a serious issue. The regional manager I spoke to - **, who claims to not have a supervisor told me that the issue was with the roads, not with the car. Yet, when I asked him why this happened to me through every season and didnt seem to impact any other cars, he had nothing to say. So, please, think carefully before letting any of your loved ones or yourself drive one of these dangerous vehicles.

A range of problems from drive belt being replaced, alternator, the lights
A range of problems from drive belt being replaced, alternator, the lights inside not working, clanking from the engine when aircon is on, rear end noise, the car sliding on acceleration (rear end) and then the car misfired and a near miss with a truck. Mercedes has fixed all other than clunky noises and aircon noise. They tells the car is safe, then why is it sliding on the roads and lacking power on acceleration. In the process of picking up my car an hour late from my workplace, they get me a parking fine. They then deliver it back to my home late also. They indicate they will pay the fine, I have confirmation of that. They have not, and the fine has increased. I receive paperwork advising no known issues, though the engine light code paperwork has the misfire in ignition coil noted. My guess is notice done as my car is still not driving well. I ask my complaint to be sent to their CEO. I have not received confirmation of this. Silverstar in Doncaster had advised me that my car is fine and what would I expect of a 2 year vehicle. They offer to replace mine with a demonstrator and inform me they will offer me 35,000 for my 50,000 car and I will need to pay them the gap of 20,000. The dealer principal recommends that yes you should go to consumer affairs. Poor service, poor quality 2012 c180, very disappointed. Here I am now driving a car that does not accelerate and with continuous engine noise and malfunctions. Level of safety felt: zero. I am now due for a service though do not want to be humiliated at a Mercedes Dealership in Victoria again.

I purchased a 2015 Mercedes GL-350 in May 2017 with less than 20K Miles on
I purchased a 2015 Mercedes GL-350 in May 2017 with less than 20K Miles on it. I was told that it was still have full factory warranty on it until 4 years or 40K miles. About 6 months after purchased the vehicle; We started to experience an intermittent problem with the rear view camera and 360 view cameras; once in a while when we put the car into reverse, the screen would continuously flipping between rear view and 360 view. I recorded the issue on camera and brought it to the dealer. The mechanic at the dealer looked at the video and drove the car around for 5 minutes then came back and said that he does not see the problem at the moment so there is nothing they can do. About 8 months before the warranty expired, we began to have another intermittent problem with the transmission, every couple of months, the reverse gear does not work. You can put the transmission into reverse, feel the gear engage but the car wont move; we can rev up the engine to 3000 rpm and the car wouldnt move. The only way to get out of that problem is to drive forward for about 1/4 miles, then after that the reverse gear work again until the next time. We brought the car to the dealer, they test drove the car and did not see the issue, so they again told us, there is nothing they can do. Kept having both of these problems every few months, so we recorded the problem with the transmission on video where the dashboard show the gear in reversed, engine rev up and the car did not move (can tell thru the windshield). We bought it to the dealer and show them the problem. They again drove the car around for a few minutes and came back to tell us that there is nothing they can do because the problem does not happen at that time. When the warranty about to expire on this vehicle, I called Mercedes USA (talked to Erik). He told me I should bring the vehicle back to the dealer if the problem comes back, but I will be responsible for all cost of diagnostic and any cost associated with fixing the transmission. I told him I have detail dealer record/video of the problem existed well before warranty expired and it is Mercedes that could not fix the problem. He kept repeating the warranty policy of 4 years/40K miles and owner responsible for all cost afterward, and that was how the call ended. We spent twice the money on this luxury brand and this is how they treated their customers. I will never purchase another Mercedes or any of their franchise brand and I will make sure I tell this story every chance I get.

Day one I proceeded to get the car I’ve always wanted, C300. I purchased a package to take care of the car in case anything happens. I found out 1. The package did not include all I was told, and 2 - I was paying for a feature my car never had. The GPS (send to Benz) was removed and three service places could not figure out what happened to it. “It’s somewhere in cyberspace” is what I was told. I then tried to renew my registration in another state; I needed the title and power of attorney, and Mercedes sent a copy.. the DMV needed to original paperwork. Twice copies were sent. I RS now almost May 2020, been waiting to register my car since March. I’ve been paying for a rental for well over a month. Now with the Covid-19 epidemic DMV is closed. If Mercedes would have sent the documents in the first place I would be registered already. Then I was told I would have to pay over five hundred dollars for them to take back my lease car.. because I refuse to lease or purchase another Mercedes. My dream has been shattered and I’m extremely disappointed with Mercedes. When I ask to speak to a manager it never happened and the customer complaints department just stood quiet as I explained My problems and disappointment.

With under 40,000 at the initial start of the check engine light coming on which no one else besides MB has ever serviced, I had to get the balance shaft replaced in the motor at my total expense. From reading reviews and information from this page and other pages they said it was best to take the car back to the dealer for this type of job. I tried other Mercedes dealerships in Cleveland: North Olmsted gave me a phone estimate of $10,000, Mercedes-Benz of Willoughby Leikin said they were too small to handle such a big job so I ended up taking the car back to Mercedes Benz of Bedford where I originally purchase it for a mere$7,036.51. I associate this cost with me being **, female, prior neg. post and phone calls. This was the worse purchase I have ever made in my life and I would NEVER buy another Mercedes. They do not stand behind their merchandise. I think they tossed a coin to see who was going to service me (after corporate calls, because Bedford where I originally purchased the car new, never called me back). My conclusion: once the car is out of warranty they really dont want your business, unless its to trade the car in on a new one and they resell your old one for a mint. I know people are in business to make money but when your product falls short of what it claims to be I feel you are obligated to provide some type of relief. Word of mouth is the best advertisement you can get. When the words of many mouths is a negative experience in the end you lose. By the way Mercedes USA was a waste of my time. They did absolutely nothing.

I have a 2009 Smart car and the paint top clear coat is peeling off all over the car. If you google this issue, you will see that many of the Smart cars have paint issues, especially the red ones (which mine is). I called the Smart headquarters and I was instructed to apply for the Goodwill out of warranty process. I went ahead and got the estimate from their approved Auto shop and submitted that. I received a call today from Adam from the Mercedes-Benz headquarters and my request to have the car painted was denied. I saved for 3 years to purchase that car new. It now looks terrible and Mercedes-Benz has to know that this is an issue with their Smart cars. So, now I ride around in a crappy looking car. When people ask me how I like my Smart car, I take them for a walk around my car and then inform them that Mercedes-Benz will not back this issue up. I am very disappointed with their customer service. You would think that it would make more sense for them to fix the problem, versus me riding around in a crappy looking Smart car. Clearly, they dont care about their customers and keeping them happy. I would never recommend any Mercedes-Benz dealership. I should have bought a Subaru based on their excellent customer service.

At 2AM after being off for nearly 10 hours, the passenger seat of my 2007 GL450 caught on fire in my garage, nearly catching the house on fire and killing my dogs who were in the garage with the car. I reported this to Mercedes (MBUSA) and asked that they inspect the car because this was clearly a defect. The internet is littered with stories/complaints of GL450 seats catching on fire (Google GL450 fire). They said they would inspect it. After much prying, they never did an inspection. A friend with a GL450 called Mercedes to ask about these events that are on the internet that I had forwarded to her. They told her that no one had ever submitted a formal complaint on this, that they had never heard of that and she should not worry. This companys disregard for the lives of the people that buy their vehicles is appalling. You buy these cars because you think they are safe, yet when the company has been contacted on numerous occasions about a defect that has the potential to kill people, the company does nothing to fix the problem and lies to customers saying they have never heard of a GL450 catching on fire. Its as if they dont think we can search for things on the internet. I will never trust Mercedes again. I cannot believe they knowingly leave these cars on the road with seat heater defects that are literally like bombs going off when the car is unattended in a garage. This company has no respect for human life.

I went to get my car serviced and requested if they would make sure they would wash and clean my car; specifically, vacuum the car trunk. The service fellow assured me that they do it for all cars that they service and it would be done. Well it wasn’t. I expected they would wipe the seats, clean the glass but all they did was a shabby vacuum job and washed the car mats. When I called and complained to Gordon, all he said was sorry they were supposed to vacuum the trunk but I guess they didn’t. He went further to say that they usually don’t clean glass or wipe the interiors at all. But he would mention it to the manager. It was such a cold response from the service provider at Mercedes Benz. He could have said, “Well, whenever you can come by, we will clean your car,” but he offered nothing. Useless cheap service. When you purchase a high-end car, I believe the service and customer care after are very important. It is such a turn off, that I wouldn’t buy another Benz because of the lousy, “give a damn about the customer” attitude.

After going through the mail I saw the ending bill for the lease return. That was approx a week old. I forgot to sent right away assuming I have a bit of time. Within a few days they start leaving VM on my phone. I paid it like 2 1/2-3 weeks later and they still call daily. On June I bought a Mercedes-Benz CLA45 AMG. After about a week of having the car a check engine light was on, took the car to the dealer and after a couple of days the dealer told me the problem was fix and it was only a bad sensor. After another couple of week the check engine light was on again; took the car to the dealer and after about a week of having the car I was informed that the 4 fuel injectors had to be change. Car was good for about 3 weeks. After that once again check engine light went on; took the car to the dealer one more time and this time is was the fuel pump that was replaced. I express to the dealer I was very unhappy with the situation. After going back and forth with the dealer about the situation, they told me I had to open a complaint with Mercedes-Benz USA by calling a 1-800 number. I did that and after and received a call from a MB regional manager that told me they review my complaint and were not able to assist me with my problem and explain me that if I wanted to get something done further I shall get legal counseling because they were very firm on their position. After all this I decided to move the page and get rid of the car. I purchase a BMW, which I had always have for many years and never had a problem with. I have a new 2018 Sprinter Van 3500 and because of needing a windshield repair discovered rust under the windshield on both side in the channel the windshield sites in from top to bottom. Mercedes is claiming that the rust is due to a conversion to a Class C RV as the roof of the cab was cut by the converter and metal particles caused rust to develop under the windshield and it is not a Mercedes problem. I am having a difficult time understanding how metal particles from a conversion would make their way under an already installed windshield on both side from top to bottom in the center of the channel, not at the outside edge. I am disappointed in what I thought was a quality product and the difficulty experienced with a Mercedes dealer in correcting the rust problem. A recall on my CLK500, 2006 for a bonding issue sliding roof. About a year ago, while driving east bound on Highway 90 in Chicago IL, My sliding roof bonding gave way. As I was driving the sun/moon roof flew off. Thankfully no other cars were following closely and no one got hurt. After I got home, I ordered the part and got the car fixed. Just about now, I received a message from the dealer on a open recall for the same issue. Since I had already got the vehicle fixed I was hoping I would be reimbursed for the cost of parts and labor. As per the dealership this is an issue that needs to be addressed by Mercedes support center, while The Mercedes support center suggested the opposite. Been going in circles. I have had nothing but issues with this car and would never suggest to waste your money with Mercedes. A very unhappy and unsatisfied customer.

He called Tow company, who also could not jump and gave same opinion, crazy that the starter could be gone! As long-time, loyal customers of Mercedes, we leased a 2011 GLK350 which performed to our expectations until the third year. After 4 trips back to the dealer, Walters Mercedes in Riverside, CA, our sound system was completely replaced. After 5 trips back to that same dealer, we have never been able to resolve a squeaky and pulsing brake issue. Each time the dealership gave us a different reason for the problem but they never resolved it. We escalated our issue to Mercedes USA who told us there was nothing they would do because there is no recall. I even took the time to write to a senior level executive asking for someone to just talk with us and heard nothing.I have a bumper to bumper extended warranty on the car but the last time we were at the dealer they told us we would have to pay to put in new brakes. The car has 26,000 miles on it! It pains me to make that lease payment each month for such an inferior product. Would never, ever consider buying another Mercedes Benz. I bought my used 2002 Mercedes Benz c230 about a year ago with a small used car loan. Everything seemed to be okay with the car but that only lasted about 500 miles. Everything on this car is broken. My dashboard is dry rotted and chipping away, the side door panels just come off when trying to open them up from the inside. Everything I touch literally just falls apart in my hand as if its been put together with Paper glue! The controls that open and close the windows have literally just popped off and are hanging there! I have electrical problems, my windshield wipers dont work (I live in Florida), my air conditioning doesnt work... Ill be driving down the road and my engine just turns completely off and I lose all power to everything including steering. My SRS light is on so I have no locking seat belts, airbags or horn. The car is literally a death trap, I seriously am concerned for my safety driving it and to fix all these defective things that are happening is going to cost probably 100 percent of the worth of my car. Im a hard working person, and this car has been nothing but a big hole I throw my money into. Im still paying it off so its getting parked and Im biking to work. Thanks, Mercedes for ripping the public off with this piece of junk!! Btw the car has only 70,000. I owned a dodge neon with 215000 miles on it that ran better than this!

I recently leased a GLC 300 2020. From the first day of driving this vehicle a humming noise from the center console started up after approximately 20 minutes of driving. I was advised by my dealership to bring it in to the service dept as this is an issue. The service dept. told me that it is the new MBUX system that has been installed in these new GLC cars that gets too hot so a fan comes on to cool it down. They informed me that because the MBUX is so close to the engine that it gets hot quickly and that the fan has 3 speeds and automatically kicks in at the 3rd fan speech. Additionally, they told me this issue will only get worse in the summer and that everyone with this vehicle will be experiencing the same issue that as soon as they go into their cars this fan will start up right away due to the hot weather. Although the service department acknowledges that this is an issue for the consumer and that this box could be placed somewhere else in the car, I am told that at the moment there are no solutions and that Mercedes is saying this is normal. I contacted Mercedes Benz USA customer service where I spoke with a women named Kiara/Chiara and she was no help at all. In fact I had to chase her to down and call numerous times about this issue. She informed me that there was nothing that could be done on Mercedes Benz end and that the service department would have to provide me with any necessary documentation that I would need to take action. I was completely brushed off by customer service at MBUSA. This is a car company who does not stand by the vehicles that they are selling/leasing and will do nothing of any sort to resolve defective vehicles. Mercedes is supposed to be a Luxury vehicle but this vehicle is far from a luxury vehicle. The service dept. has informed me that others have come in with the same issue as me and from researching online I can see others are starting to report the same issue. Do yourself a favor and avoid this company as they will do nothing to fix defects and just claim its normal. A humming noise coming from the center console is far from normal.

After all, the certified warranty has requirements the vehicle must meet before it can be certified. My vehicle must have been the exception. There was a long list of issues which made it apparent that this vehicle shouldnt have been certified. I was lied to about the vehicle being in an accident, bad brakes, squeaky steering, broken remote, deep 18 inch long gouges in the windshield and rear glass, many other things and, the focus of this story, the TeleAid was intermittently inoperable. Some of these issues were fixed by me having to get them to pick up the car and take it the car back to the dealership for repair. Some issues were created by them driving it. Once I received my car back with bent wheels which were the result of potholes near the dealership. The dealer brought it back anyway, I had to get them to come get it so they could fix the wheels. They fixed the wheels, but 6 months later, the finish of the wheels was faulty. They blamed it on me saying the other side of the car were the wheels they had fixed and the other wheels had to be something I did. My car but they know more than me about it. Even now, 5 years after purchase, it still has issues that the dealer never fixed. One issue is the TeleAid system is inoperable much of the time as I mentioned above. This is the system that costs $600 per year for the subscription and does basically the same thing as OnStar but for twice the cost. I brought this in to the Mercedes dealer where I purchased it numerous times while still under the certified warranty for the TeleAid to be repaired. Every time I was told they couldnt find the issue. This left me without the option to use the system for safety and convenience due to its unreliability. Now 5 years later, I had to bring my car to the Mercedes dealer, a different Mercedes dealer, for the airbag recall among other things. The mechanic runs a short scan and finds the TeleAid issue on the first day its there. The antenna has been the issue all this time since it was first purchased. Will Mercedes own the issue since it shouldnt have been there when I bought the Certified vehicle in the first place? NO. Will Mercedes honor the original warranty since the issue was brought to their attention while the car was covered by the certified warranty? NO. Even though it was brought to the Mercedes dealer for this issue at least 4 times within the first year I owned the vehicle? NO. Even though I have documentation from the dealership showing I told them about the problem and they didnt fix it, documentation from the time it was covered? NO. Even though the corporate customer service representative told me at the time to document the TeleAid issue so that if its figured out when the warranty is expired, they will know it was an issue under the warranty and they will fix it for free? NO. What does Mercedes wonderful customer service department say? Not the dealership but the Mercedes main customer service, the ones who are supposed to help when the dealer doesnt? They said, Well, the representative who said that doesnt work here anymore. They said they would give me a sales incentive to buy another Mercedes, but they will not take financial responsibility for the issue because its not under warranty. They said this repeatedly like they were reading a script. They are actually under the impression that a customer could be treated this poorly and then, because of a nondescript sales incentive, the customer will forget their entire frustrating experience and buy another Mercedes. I was under the belief that Mercedes was a company known for excellence in customer service. I found they would rather lose a customer than pay to fix a vehicle issue that should have never been there when the car was sold. The best part of Mercedes being willing to lose a customer is that the issue would only cost $240.00 to fix. In my opinion, what the dealer does is puts a certified warranty on the car, which they pay for. Then they leave to problems for the customer to find, bring the car back in, and then charge the warranty company for the repairs they perform. That is exactly what happened with me. So, in closing, I have lost almost all respect for Mercedes as a company. With the exception of a few dealership employees, the company is horrible to deal with. They refuse to do the right thing by their customers. The only reason for the 2 star rating instead of a 1 star rating is my experience with one service manager. He deserves 5 stars and a raise, the rest of this company was a waste of my money and many hours of my time in trying to resolve issues that should have never existed. If this saves one person from blindly buying a certified Mercedes, Ill be happy. Dont trust the image, its not accurate.

I own a 2003 Mercedes CLK 320 convertible. I love my car. However, I am having to trade it in because of rust problems! The car has only 28,000 miles and has been kept in covered garaged parking when not in use. Both doors started rusting at the very bottom about a year ago. Mercedes says it is out of warranty and the repairs will be upwards of $5,000. I am very disappointed with Mercedes and sad to have to get rid of my car.

I have solid proof that my Mercedes was illegally tampered with by one of the dealerships in my hometown. I can prove that the dealership set me up to have my car malfunction and killed the battery to 4.2 volts, leaving me with a dead car that same day. The following day (if I had not been fortunate enough to have my engineer buddies jump my car for me), the dealer would have had a window of opportunity to charge me with repairs that were unnecessary. There are records that I can indicate that my car was still in good condition after my car was charged by up. There are many details and facts that I would be gladly present to all who wants listen.

This car has had 2 (two) safety related issues in less than 3,000 miles of ownership. Mercedes-Benz is fully aware of these issues but is not fixing the problems. Both Mercedes-Benz and their dealerships do not understand the importance of tracking software on cars and fixing it to avoid problems. Our emergency braking system was shut down by the computer due to software problems. MB should have been able to proactively update the software in order to avoid this problem just based upon the VIN number and production dates. I am waiting for the 3rd safety issue so I can return this car to them under the Lemon Law. Dealerships should be staffed by people who are technically savvy as well as mechanics. Mercedes-Benz is delivering a substandard product due to lack of responsible practices after the product leaves the factory. Do not purchase or lease a GLA250 or believe the reporting on the internet that the 2016 models had safety issues address by the company. Its simply not true.

I leased a 2019 GLA 250 from Mercedes- When I was negotiating the price I was told it was a demo. I said fine to that. I negotiated the price on Thursday October 24th, 2019, for a Friday October 25th, 2019 delivery. I was told the car had 1718 miles on it which was the deciding factor to me for agreeing to say yes and no further details were given to me. I relied on those representations to say yes. The next day October 25th, 2019 at 4pm I arrived at the dealer to take said delivery. The car was parked outside and was prepped. I noticed a few dings on the car. When I walked into the show room, I met the reps and told them my findings on said car. I was told that “this was a loaner and that there was bound to be imperfections”. This was not expressed to me prior. I then sat in the car an noticed the scuff on the dash and the mileage being 4424 as opposed to the mileage being 1718. I was shocked and speechless at that point and expressed my displeasure and the reps were equally shocked at the mileage difference. I hesitated on signing but was rest assured that all will be handled. I expressed to Mercedes of Brooklyn that I would like to have the brake pads changed and the minor scuff removed. I was told that they will look into this. Today is Monday October 28th, 2019 and I am told that they will not remedy the situation at all. Very unhappy!

I went to the Rocklin, CA Mercedes Benz dealership to get a recall fixed on my car. I had a leak in the same place with that of the recall was in, so I thought it was that. We talked to a man named Wayne, and he helped us the whole time we were there. He said it would take an hour or a little longer, so we walked our three kids over to the park. By time we got back to the dealer, it was about 4:45-5:00. The man Wayne said he would check to see if our car was ready, then he pulled it up, leaving it running. We loaded the kids up, but my oldest was in the bathroom. So I went to get her. When I got back in the car, it was no longer running and would not start at all. We tried a couple times, and then, we got the man who had been helping us and told him what was going on. He came over and tried to start it, then he popped the hood. He started messing with the battery and said he thought we needed a new one. He said he was going to have someone come jump us. Well, that did not work at all, and as the tech was helping us, he noticed our seats felt real wet. The floors were wet too. Real wet. Still, I did not think anything of it. A few minutes went by, and another man came out, a tech one who works on cars. At that moment, they said that when they washed it, the sun roof was open a little and water got in our electrical gear and messed some electrical stuff up. So what I want to know is why did they not say that in the first place. They had to have a known cause. There had to have been water all over, when they opened the door. They had to dry it all up. They did not say anything to us and were going to let us leave. How did they know that fast what was wrong. They knew it had all got wet. I did not even know they were going to wash the car. I got my car back the next day (today). They came to my work and traded me cars, and it stinks so bad like mildew. I got a few opinions and have been told that it could never be the same. I dont know how extensive the damages are and what they fixed. They tried to get me off the lot as fast as possible, so it would not be their problem. But I know that I had my three kids and could have had my car just stop somewhere, and we could have gotten hurt. Now, I have a stinky car that I am still paying for, and I dont know if they fixed the whole problem.

Return visit the engine light was off and I was told it was a minor situation and after through check the car was in excellent condition. (Body, interior, like new.) Purchased the vehicle. Engine light continued to come on then go off. Weeks later the engine light came on and stayed on for several local miles. Immediately took for service. Had 60,000 maintenance done, oil change, other. Engine light stayed off. Drove to S Florida. Engine light came on again. Took to reputable foreign car specialist. Needed # 4 engine coil. Engine light off. Few (short) weeks later - engine light on. Immediately returned to shop. Needed # 4 coil replacement. Few (short) week(s) later - engine light on. Then engine light off & stayed off. Shipped to VA. Engine light off. Drove short miles - engine light on again - this time I returned to the VA foreign car specialist to determine why the light keeps coming on. Same symptoms over and over since before 55,000 miles on a well serviced car. Summary: This car needs a # 4 cylinder (head?) replacement, plus there is a TSB from Mercedes on this engine for known problems. Mercedes Corporate (told me I was not loyal to the brand) refuses to stand behind the vehicle. Corporate passed to a dealer whom I did not purchase the car from. They of course are unwilling to help. I have not gotten help anywhere. NOW I ASK YOU - Will you purchase a Mercedes knowing it could need a new engine @ 55,000 (+/- ) miles? No car with 55,000 miles should have these kinds of issues let alone what used to be the top luxury car. It is not the customer who is not loyal to the brand - it is the company who is not loyal to the customer and dropping the makers ranking from number one to number three (or below). I need a sound engine in my car. BUYER BEWARE when buying Mercedes Benz. [Note: If this saga ends on a reputable note - I will update this posting.]

My 2006 Mercedes Benz ML350 was diagnosed with a balance shaft problem at another shop. I brought it back to Mercedes Benz of Baton Rouge to check and make sure the diagnosis was correct. The service manager Dan notified me that I did have the problem and that it would cost approximately $6,000.00.I had been talking to MB USA about some type of assistance. MB USA notified MB of BR and promised to pay 50% of the bill. I only had $2,000.00 which I told Dan. I went and borrowed $1,000.00 to repair my truck. MB of BR kept my vehicle about three weeks. I was called by Dan on Wednesday, August 10, to tell me that my vehicle was fixed and ready for pickup. I arrived at the dealership at approximately 5:45 p.m. I paid for the vehicle and drove it to Prairieville, LA, approximately 30 minutes away from the dealership. I went shopping at Walmart. I cranked my vehicle at 7:05 p.m. I heard a loud noise and the car cut off. I restarted and I had plenty of codes on the screen. I immediately called MB of BR at 7:09 p.m. and left a voice message about my vehicle. I returned the vehicle to MB of BR the next day. I was notified yesterday, August 16, 2010, that several sensors had gone out and it had nothing to do with the repair work that they completed on my balance shaft. I was quoted $1,700.00 to fix this problem. I only drove the car for 30 minutes, approximately 20 miles, and my car broke down. I was never notified about any other issues with the engine; however, I was made aware about some routine maintenance such as new tires, brake pads, and a shock. I have tried to talk to the owner, Joe, the service manager, Dan and Bryan, who is over at the repair area. I also talked to Gwen and Margie. Bryan told me that I told Dan to only fix the balance shaft problem. Dan and I disclaimed that statement. I never told anyone at MB of BR to only work on the balance shaft problem. I never knew anything about other problems and was not given that information. When I left MB of BR, my vehicle was clear of any errors. Bryan claims that he even drove my vehicle approximately 70 miles and he did not get any codes; however, within 20 miles of me driving it, it broke down. They disconnected the electrical system and removed the motor, and MB of BR is telling me that the new problem did not stem from them working on the vehicle for three weeks.

I have owned two of them, the first on a lease and the second one a purchase. Although my current E350 is a 2013 model, it still looks new in style and condition. I have found it extremely reliable and with the MB Certified warranty, a wise buy. There are a number of great improvements to this model each year, but my current 2013 is as good as them all. I was a loyal owner of Mercedes Benz (two cars in the past four years). My most recent purchase is the C350 Sport. It came down with a transmission breakdown last week, after three years and just 86,000 miles. I had the car towed to the Euromotors (Germantown, Maryland). I was told that I was to pay about $10,000 in repairs. I became a Mercedes Benz customer because of your craftsmanship and reputation. I never expected a power train issue so early in the life of such a great car. I love the car; I enjoy driving the car, and I expected to remain a loyal customer for a longtime. In fact, I was planning to trade my C350 for the new E350 Coupe next year. The dealership is not willing to do a courtesy repair on my car because my regular services had not been completed by them. I would like the Mercedes corporate office to intercede on my behalf, but when I contacted them (in not so many words), they told me that I was SOL (short on luck), and I was at the mercy of the dealer. I guess I made a big a mistake when I left BMW to become a Mercedes owner.

This car is being serviced at the dealer and they never mentioned that early C300 have wrist pin issues in their engines and they have a service bulletin for the same. Mercedes denies to take responsibility for this issue. On top of that my AC smells like dead rat. Again my dealer never mentions anything about lawsuit against Benz. To all reading my post if your car AC smells like dirty sock/rat there is a lawsuit against MERCEDES and they will have to fix it. For all owners of C300 take your car to dealer and have them inspect your car for POTENTIAL PISTON FAILURES and have that written in your JOB SHEET for FUTURE. Mercedes has been the worst unreliable and they are lying regarding their known issues and then not taking any responsibility for inferior quality of their parts.
