Nissan tried to say that I was late on payment after I never received a bill. I made an immediate payment and the next one all within a week. Firstly, they didnt post payment properly and then when I complained about location of paper bills I require, they said that by law they do not have to provide paper bills? I never agreed to go paperless as I need these bills for personal reasons. They were very rude to me on the phone and basically provided they didnt care and attacked my credit.
Cape Cod, MA: At the end of Jan. 13, I purchased a high-end 2010 luxury Maxima SV with 33k miles. The dealer pushed a $2000 extended warranty on me saying mine would run out at 36k. When I read it over carefully, I realized that this did not cover everyday issues (exp: brakes, tires, etc.) and every item that was covered were parts/issues that Nissan would be bound by LAW to correct anyway! (I know this as the previous Director of the BBB & of the Consumer Assistance Council in our region working closely with our State Attorney Generals Public Protection Bureau.)As an educated consumer, I cancelled this useless policy, and surprise - in December 13, 6k miles over the ridiculous 36k warranty (less than any other manufacturer to my knowledge), my beautiful Maxima had me, a woman, stranded in a dark parking lot on an icy rainy Sunday night. It was incapacitated due to a faulty part in the steering column connected to the push start. After research I found that there are MANY HUNDREDS of complaints and horror stories regarding this issue & that Nissan had recalled the defective part on 2009 models. Although I expect the 2010 Maximas also contain this defective part. This brought me on a journey to complain to Consumer Affairs and a regional rep. Neither were concerned with standing behind their expensive, luxury, top of the line vehicle, and were not even interested in extending the repair as a goodwill gesture as, after all, I didnt purchase the Extended Warranty! Try as I might, I could not get through to them that they were STILL bound by Implied Warranties in Massachusetts under MGL. Ch. 93A Consumer Protection provisions. Nissan CANNOT develop and sell extended warranties (Express Warranties) in order to avoid what they would be required to do under an implied warranty. Basically: a product must perform properly for a reasonable amount of time or it is the seller/manufacturers responsibility to rectify. Nissan is attempting to coerce purchasers of their vehicles into purchasing expensive extended warranties - therefore GETTING THE CONSUMER TO PAY FOR (NISSANS) RESPONSIBILITY BY LAW. This is fraud & misrepresentation to consumer and an illegal practice! I am SO disappointed in Nissan Corp. This was my fourth Nissan and the other 3 ran forever! Truly, one of the reasons I wasnt worried about an extended warranty is because in the past Nissans were exceptionally reliable. At this time I dont know WHAT is going on with Nissan Corp., but they apparently feel no responsibility towards the consumer if they havent purchased an expensive and unnecessary extended warranty, therefore absolving them of any financial liability (ie - YOU, the consumer, already paid for yours & everyone elses repairs by purchasing this so-called warranty). Ive filed a Consumer Complaint with Consumer Protection and intend to file a MGL. Ch. 93A claim for treble damages. I also intend to inform our Attorney General of this fraudulent practice to gather information to prepare a class action lawsuit to obtain monetary damages for consumers!
Nissan may make a decent vehicle but the financial company NMAC has a lot to be desired. Customer Service people never listen, can’t resolve issues and always apologize for the other person mistakes but never takes care of the matter at hand. Whoever trains these people needs to retrain or fire them because I refuse to do any more business with them.
I bought the vehicle(Nissan Navara) new in 2006. In 2009 (less than 3 years old) I complained about severe chassis rust. I was fobbed off but also told in writing Should you have any issues with corrosion of the chassis in the future, your vehicle is covered by a 12 year perforation warranty. Now the chassis has failed and broken in half! They say on 18/3/2015 this isnt a situation where we would be able to offer a gesture of goodwill because of your vehicles age and mileage and the fact that the corrosion warranty does not cover the chassis.
A couple of years after purchasing my 2008 Nissan Rogue I began hearing a whining sound coming from the transmission while driving on long road trips. Eventually while on a road trip I was suddenly unable to accelerate. The pedal was down to the floor but rather than pick up speed, the vehicle would decelerate and was unable to even reach the speed limit on the highway.After bringing it to Nissan they said they would replace the transmission. A couple of years later I now have the same exact problem again. So it seems Nissan decided to replace the transmission with yet another faulty one or perhaps didnt even actually replace it the first time and did a temporary fix of some kind just so that the warranty would expire before it happened again.When I brought it back to Nissan again telling them the same problem has occurred they said they couldnt find anything wrong and refused to fix it. Nissan is fully aware of the problem as they now provide a fix for the faulty transmission but if course at the owners expense. That is ridiculous as Nissan should be held accountable for this faulty transmission and should eat the cost of replacing it or installing the fix since they were incapable of making a quality transmission in the first place. I am outraged that they have gotten away with this and cant believe a company should be able to take advantage of customers in this way. Shame on Nissan and I hope that everyone who wants a quality car from a company that cares about its customers stays far away from Nissan as you will be sorely disappointed!
Had key made a remote to open doors. Cost approx $250, including $60 labor. With appointment, took over 2 hours. After going home, realized remote would not open drivers door. Went back to resolve and was told there was an issue with the lock of the drivers door and would cost in excess of $500 to repair. Should have been advised this before leaving with the remote. I was advised they would refund the remote, but not the labor fee. UNHAPPY with the customer service with no satisfaction. I had to go back and spend more of my time to try to rectify a problem that should have been addressed when I left with the remote. Stefan ** told me they are currently going through lots of changes, new computers, new phones, etc. Not my problem. Take care of my situation and refund labor or meet me halfway. Sorry was his response. True, they are SORRY.
Had my car a year (Altima 2016 used) and it’s out of warranty. When purchasing the car I asked for an extended warranty and the finance manager declined me stating that I was not in a position to receive the extended warranty that I was lucky that I was even approved for the car. I had to beg for GAP and he made me pay for my GAP cash upfront $500. Also when I called my finance company to see if they had additional options they stated that those instruction about extended warranty was not true that they would have went through another company not them. At that point I did not understand why the finance manager had me lie to the finance company about the type of car I was receiving if I would not be covered. Basically I was taken advantage of and it worked on their end because now I am screwed out of a car unless I come up with the funds to fix the issue. Nissan said it’s nothing they can do, You have to buy a $3500 transmission. I do not know much about repair to cars but my car is calling for a sensor and Im not sure why my sensors cannot be replaced vs the entire transmission!Call Consumer Affairs and they had an attitude. Told me there was nothing they could do and hung up on me. I will be taking this to the next level. My voice will be heard and something will be done. I would have never spent my money with them knowing I would have to deal with such poor service and attitude! Please do not put yourself in my situation stay away from Nissans (CVT) they are NO GOOD! Terrible customer service and they will do NOTHING to help you.
I bought a Nissan 370Z convertible 15 months ago with very low mileage. Just beyond the 36,000 mile mark, my convertible top experienced issues which needed to be addressed right away. I brought the car into the shop, they diagnosed the problem, and ordered the part which took 30 days to arrive and install. It was discovered that a second part was also faulty and needed fixing. Five weeks later, I am out $1,750 and still have no working part as we are waiting for the second part to arrive and be installed. The mechanic who was put in numerous hours trying to navigate through the issues flat out told me on three separate occasions to get rid of my Nissan vehicle as the craftsmanship is very poor and the electrical system is backwards (he was referring to Nissan in general).He also says working with Nissan Japan when ordering parts is a pretty painful experience as well - parts take forever. I can attest to this. So in short, I paid $12,000 more for a vehicle with a convertible top that barely made it past its warranty. This is the second Nissan convertible I have owned, and both had expensive electrical and convertible top issues. I can comfortably say that Nissan is the Walmart of the automotive industry. I look forward to turning away as many potential Nissan customers as possible in the future since so many ask me about my car.
Im in the process of purchasing a used 2004 Nissan Maxima. I have not had the vehicle for thirty days. It needed a wheel alignment in which the dealer said he did. The car jerks when changing gears from reverse to drive. It slips backward a little. The check engine soon light came on for three (3) days, then went off. Right now, the only money, I spent at this time is the down payment. What is my legal recourse regarding State lemon laws and/or the Uniform Commercial Code? I have not registered the vehicle in my name as of yet. However, it is due by October 26, 2013. I thought Nissan was a reliable and dependable vehicle, with my experiences and the numerous complaints, I see it is not. Consumer Affairs: This is a dangerous situation and why are you asking us to file a complaint if you are not going to force Nissan to do a recall or fix these consumers vehicles? The complaints are so similar in nature and what are you doing! Does someone have to be killed or badly injured before you force Nissan to do what is legally the right thing to do? Right now, my confidence level is not high at all for Nissan or Consumer Affairs. We are hard working individuals and cannot afford these repairs and car payments. The consumers are counting on you to force Nissan to be liable for these defects.
I purchased my new Nissan in 2001. I bought it outright from a dealer in NJ. I have had several major problems with this truck since I purchased it. The first was the gas tank rusting and emitting fumes in the cab. Every time I filled the tank the smell was terrible inside and outside the cab. I contacted Nissan several times and they refuse to do anything at all. This cost over a $1000.00 dollars. A year later my oil pan rusted badly and was ready to fail and I had that replaced. That cost $900.00. My electric blue paint started peeling on the side of the truck for no reason at all and continues peeling. If I choose to have it repainted that will probably be $2000.00. I wont ever purchase another Nissan and I encourage anyone who is thinking of buying one, DONT!! You will be very disappointed. They dont care about their product or customer service. In two words, they suck!!!
I purchased a new 2011 Altima in August 2011 on a lease, placing $3,000 down and monthly payments around $260.00. In September, I received a statement showing a credit. Again in October, the statement reflected a credit. I called NMAC to verify these credits were indeed correct, I was assured the account was correct and that my first actual payment would be due in December. At the end of October, I received a collection call stating I was 30 some days overdue with a balance of $368.00 owing. Coincidentally, that day I received a letter from NMAC stating that during an internal audit, they mistakenly applied an amount to my account as a credit and that this amount would be added to my next statement. I called NMAC and told them I have not received a statement showing their mistake and a corrected amount to pay. I would pay when I received the statement. The hounding calls persisted, they even called my place of employment. I called the manager of the dealership, he explained that the dealership and NMAC are two entirely different companies but he offered to help. I received my November statement which has an overage amount due for over $200.00.I paid my arranged payment plus the overage, check cleared. Again in December, the invoice was paid, cleared bank. On December 2, 2011, my dealership manager even intervened and was told that they had cleared up the mess, they informed him that my account and another lease holders account - 1 number apart- was the reason for the confusion. He was told everything is fine, my account is current. I, myself confirmed this information with Nissan. Today, Friday December 23, 2011, at 9:15am at the place of employment, I received a call from NMAC credit attempting to collect a debt 32 days overdue for $368.00, stating insufficient funds. Unbelievable!This company is impossible to deal with - speaking to India without the ability to sit down face to face and hammer out the problems is so frustrating. Local dealerships can only help so much. I have been advised by a family attorney that these companies cannot contact you repeatedly at your place of employment - so I advised them today to cease calling me at work - they are now on notice. This is becoming the worst experience of my life and I will not continue with this idiocy for the next 4 years. We consumers are at the mercy of this NMAC plus they can potentially ruin our credit rating. I may need legal help soon!
I leased a brand new 2017.5 Nissan Rogue SV AWD Premium Package in July 2017. My vehicle traded was a 2015 Rogue (same model) I had hit my mileage on a year early. Not only was I pleased with my 15, but I spent 2 years as a Nissan employee, and I retain the Nissan Visa card. I would say Im a pretty good customer and supporter. In 6 months and 7k (now 8k) miles, my Rogue has had the radio/navigation system fully replaced! My Rogue has also been TOWED into the dealerships service department! I work nights. It was Christmas Eve. The car never made it to work. Of course, 3 days later after the holiday, the Rogue worked fine and the mechanics could not duplicate the issue. A diagnostic test showed a possible air flow problem... which I read about in another review... but they really have no idea. I am a single mom, on a check-check basis, and one reason I lease is to avoid maintenance! I cry all the time in my car. I am frustrated. Every time I start the Rogue I wonder what will happen next. I have lost confidence in this vehicle. I filed a claim with Consumer Affairs. I have received 2 emails from the gal stating she has tried to reach me multiple times by phone but I have no missed calls, voicemails, nothing, and the number(s) is saved in my phone. I have responded to these emails but then have not heard back from her. In the last week, I have called her DIRECT line 5x leaving my contact phone number 2x every message. I have gotten voicemail each time. Since December 26, 2017 I have called Nissan Consumer Affairs 8x. I should not have to be dealing with this regarding a vehicle purchased brand new not 7 months ago. Certain staff members at the dealership have been as helpful as they possibly can be but they have limitations which I understand. At least theyre on my side. Nissan seems to think this entire issue is a game. Its not. I live in Columbus, Ohio. We do not have major public transport opportunities. I cannot afford a chauffeur, I cannot afford taxi cabs or Uber. Nissan needs to step up.
I purchased a Nissan Xterra from Team Nissan of Marietta, Ga on 11/10/2011. The sales officer gave me prices of the available models. He misled me in prices several times on phone that resulted in early sales of my Xterra in possession and prompted me to buy on emergency basis. Apart from this, he gave me misleading information and avoid disclosure responsibility as he mentioned that only shortcoming in the vehicle. I was buying Nissan Xterra S model against X model, that one has alloy wheel, automatic outside mirrors and hard wood in trunk. And the one I was buying had missing these 3 features. Plus I would save $2000.I purchased the vehicle and I found out the next day while I was driving to the church with my wife that it did not have the main necessity like inside lights on drivers side, and the mirror on the passengers side. We are senior citizens, I dropped my hearing aid one time and denture on another time, and tried to turn on the light to find and there was no light. I had to pull on side to find them. I complained the next day and they did not entertain me and said the sale has already been reported to Nissans main office.I complained but Nissan North America did not respond. I also participated several times in surveys and as of this date they have not responded yet. I am experiencing hardship which will continue till I own this vehicle. Now finally I am trying to complain to watch dog agencies, BBB and good governance and fair trade, and still if Nissan would not address this, I would report through media.
Bought Rogue in April of 2011. It is a 2011 model. Car was BRAND NEW! Approx. 8-12 months later, noticed transmission making high-pitched whining sound. Call Nissan, Norwich, CT where I had purchased vehicle. Was told that the noise was normal for the CVT transmission. So I didnt worry about it after that. Finally in May of 2014, I really thought the transmission wasnt right. I brought it in and paid Norwich Nissan 116.00 diagnostic fee. Was given invoice/statement saying that the transmission had been checked and that no problems were found and that no service needed. Then in November, my transmission suddenly stopped working, and I barely made it home. I was furious! I took it to a local trusted mechanic and he told me the transmission was shot and had been going for a long time! I contacted Nissan Corporate Consumer Affairs and it took over a month of phone calls back and forth for them to finally tell me that that would claim no responsibility because the car was too far out of warranty (82,000 miles). When I first asked Nissan about the car, it probably only had about 24,000 on it. Then in May when they checked the transmission, it had 70,000 miles. I did some research and found several other customers whose transmission had died around 70 - 72,000 miles just like mine. DON’T TRUST NISSAN......VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE IF THEY KNOW YOURE RIGHT! I will continue to seek legal action against this company. In the meantime, Ive bought a Mazda, so far very happy with. Am in the process of trying to sell my 30,000 dollar Rogue (now worth about $6,000 without a transmission!).
With MUCH regret, my husband and I purchased a 2018 Nissan Pathfinder from Pinnacle Nissan in Scottsdale, AZ. I went to that dealership November 2018 thinking I was going to get a Black Friday special, but instead got ripped off. The salesperson stated the pearl color would be an extra charge and we agreed to pay the extra. When I came back to pick the vehicle up because they had to order that color they said, a pure white Nissan Pathfinder was waiting for me. I argued back and forth with the sales manager at that time, and he stated the vehicle I was receiving does not come in Pearl white. I mean they got their sale, so who cares about the color right? I wish to God, I would have just walked away, but I drove off in the white Nissan Pathfinder. In addition, we thought we were purchasing an extended warranty up to 100K miles the reason our payment was outrageous. We were ok with that knowing we would have coverage for a while. The finance guy also talked us into some paint package. I returned to Pinnacle about a year or so later (it should be in the records) to get the paint touch up coverage (not sure of the exact name). We were not given any instructions other than we have that coverage and weve never purchased it with any other vehicles. So, I pull up to the service dept at Pinnacle and was met by the rudest person Ive encountered in a while. He said your car is dirty! Theres a car wash down the street! Go and come back! Well, I was under the impression they would wash it at the dealership, and I was in a hurry on a Saturday with a lineup of errands. I did as he barked out for me to do and returned the vehicle. Pinnacle, please work on your customer service! Its important! I then visit ABC Nissan in Phoenix, AZ in 2021. The second row would not collapse, and we were told it was not covered by the warranty. What? A 2018 with coverage up to 100K miles? Well, guess what, we are NOT covered up to 100K miles. Not sure how we got swindled into paying an outrageous car payment with little to no warranty coverage? So, I call my nice “go to” service advisor Tyler at Coulter Nissan in Surprise, AZ immediately tried to help me and said he could do a one time goodwill coverage. I didn’t go to him in the first place because I was close to ABC Nissan at the time and somehow thought I would receive good service at any Nissan dealership! Tyler is SO awesome and is the ONLY one who represents Nissan well. Tyler said that ABC Nissan could also use the good will coverage so I wouldnt have to move my car from ABC to Coulter. The salesperson at ABC was horrible and kept quoting different pick-up times for when the vehicle would be ready. This was very important as I was traveling from Phoenix back home to California on tight time restrictions for work. The manager at ABC Nissan, Anthony **, finally intervened and tried to hurry the techs along as the salesperson shouldnt have called and said the vehicle was ready if it wasnt! I was in tears and extremely frustrated at this point as I was given 3 different times the vehicle would be ready. Anthony gave me money to go get lunch and to stall for the technicians to hurry and finish the job that was promised hours before my arrival. After several months, my daughter noticed a bolt sticking up in the seat and the seat belt would not work! We were not surprised there were more problems with this Nissan vehicle! I took the vehicle to Pedder Nissan in Hemet, CA. The technician/manager there stated the bolt was never put back properly by ABC Nissan! Whhaatt?? How dangerous?? ABC Nissan must have rushed to get the car out and carelessly did not put the bolt back properly. I should have taken pictures, but Im sure Pedder Nissan has some. The tech at Pedder was kind enough to fix the bolt at no charge. They provided good customer service as I showed up with no appointment and he got me in quickly.More problems with this new Nissan Pathfinder! Apparently, there is some known CVT issue with the Nissan Pathfinder. This issue/dash/radio would go in and out in my vehicle and was random when the dash/radio would work. I took the vehicle to Temecula Nissan where Alex Campagna assisted me. Apparently, Alex was not aware of the CVT issue? He told me they could not help me unless the dash/radio was actually not functioning at the time the vehicle was in their possession. Of course, when I took it to Temecula Nissan, the dash worked fine. I drove away from Temecula Nissan with no resolution! I go to visit in Phoenix again and I can ALWAYS rely on Tyler at Coulter Nissan. He knew exactly what I was talking about before I could even get it out good! He immediately helped me and was able to charge a minimum fee to fix it. Whenever Im at Coulter and dealing with Tyler, I always feel safe and do not worry about getting taken advantage of! Tyler is just a good person and a good representation of Nissan. I shouldn’t have to go to another state to hope for good customer service from a Nissan dealership! I wish I had purchased our recent vehicle from Coulter, but thought we were getting some special deal at Pinnacle. Worst mistake of our lives! Maybe some internal training is needed throughout Nissan for consistent customer service, complete/accurate work, and knowledge of recalls! I would love to have the Pearl Nissan Pathfinder I originally hoped for, but in the meantime, Tyler has helped make my regrets of dealing with Pinnacle Nissan, ABC Nissan, and Temecula Nissan a little better.
Our 2007 Xterra with a little over 80,000 miles shut down. I had it taken to my local Nissan dealership and looks like 6,000 plus will fix it. I looked up the issue and was so surprised with how many other people have had this same issue. We have had the vehicle since it was new and have taken to the dealership for all maintenance, I wish someone would have said something there if they knew it could be an issue. Oh well, I guess I learned an expensive lesson.
Nissan lied to us about the extended service plan. Parts that were listed on the pamphlet they used to sell on the extended service plan were not actually covered under the plan. We have called Nissan Consumer Affairs, they dont care. Some of their representatives tell us the parts are covered, others tell us they arent. One of their representatives told me he would accept that listed parts arent covered, pay for them, and move on. That is what I suggest every Nissan owner should do. Move on to another car maker. Until you can get rid of your Nissan be honest when people ask if you would buy another, tell them no. Tell people you are not happy with Nissan. Explain and give examples to people of what Nissan does wrong. If Nissan wont listen, we must get everyone else to listen to us. Dont buy a Nissan.
I purchased a 2011 Sentra with 72,000 miles on it for my daughter on May 2014. About 3 months of owning it, she calls me and tells me that the vehicle is losing power at about 55mph on the highway. I figured its probably a dirty fuel filter, so I called Autozone and they told me this vehicles fuel filter is in the tank with the fuel pump and doesnt get replaced. I took the vehicle to my mechanic and his scanner gave us code PO 745 pressure control solenoid malfunction. He told me to take it to the dealer because the vehicle was so new. The Nissan dealer told me that Nissan doesnt authorize them to repair transmissions, only exchange them for remanufactured ones. Then he runs my vin# and tells me that my car is not covered under the extended warranty from Nissan. They cover 2003 till 2010 and my car is 2011 and that I would have to pay to replace the transmission. Weve had the car one year and bought it with 72,000 miles and it currently has 80,500. Now Im stuck with this problem and the vehicle is not paid off yet. At this point I am running out of options. Please help.
I bought my Maxima new back in 2005. I recently started having transmission problems. The car only had 51,000 miles. I took it back to the service department next to the dealer I bought it from in New Jersey. They confirmed the transmission needed to be replaced. They also found the timing chain needed to be replaced. The service guys said both should not have to be replaced so soon with the shape the car was in and the low mileage. I opened a case with Nissan North America. They basically said warranty expired, so too bad. Then they told me to take it to the dealer for possible trade in. They would take care of me. Yeah, right. They offered nothing for the trade. Sales knew about tranny and timing chain. New car deal was nothing special. This was second and last Nissan. I have since bought a Kia Optima.
I purchased a pre-owned 2012 Nissan Rogue with 25,000 miles January 2013. I have regular scheduled maintenance performed and take pride in the care of my vehicle. This past weekend, 5-14, I had planned a visit to Sarasota to my daughters house but had to replace my alternator and it took a few days to receive the part in so I postponed my trip until the following weekend. I had made it almost to Tampa from Atlanta and I noticed my car was losing power. I could not get it to go over 65 miles per hour. It was also whining. I called the shop that replaced alternator and described what I was experiencing. The mechanic suggest I get off the Interstate and have the computer hooked up to see if it was reading any codes and if not, to get to a Nissan dealership, which I did in Wesley Chapel, FL. After two hours, I was told by my service advisor Naco that he had good news and bad news. The good news was it wasnt going to cost me a penny and the bad news was my transmission had gone out. The car had 61,000 miles on it. I had just turned over the warranty period on my way to Florida. I was traveling alone and 9 hours from my home. I was already upset and nervous as I had just spent $600 on a new alternator before I left. He told me not to cry that it wasnt costing me anything. They were going to put me in another Rogue and send me on my way to visit my daughter and my car would be repaired when I headed back to Atlanta on Monday. My car was loaded with stuff for my daughters new house and he told me that he would get some of his guys to help unload my car and load the loaner. Nissan was replacing my transmission. When I asked why, I was told that they had some problems with that year and model transmissions. The service manager, Joey, was very comforting and couldnt understand why I was still crying (overwhelming)!!!! In about an hour later, as I was getting ready to leave, Naco came to me and said Sorry, Nissan isnt going to pay for transmission because I was 1000 miles over warranty. The loaner now became a rental. He said I was looking at $3600 to replace the transmission. I told him I didnt have $3600 to replace transmission and I shouldnt be replacing the transmission with only the mileage I had on the car.Who does that? Who tells you Nissan is paying and an hour later, tells you they dropped me. Never once was I told I should call Consumer Affairs but he and his staff were making calls on my behalf. Again, I became upset and was in total shock. When I asked why they dropped me, he said that I was out of warranty! 1000 miles and 1/2 of those were on this trip! After verifying that I maintained my vehicle (they called the service center and had my records sent to them), they came back and said I didnt service my car at a Nissan dealership so there was nothing they could do???????? I was in total shock! After another two hours, the service manager offered me a wholesale price of $2850. Still in disbelief, I told them I would have to make some calls to my family for help that I didnt have the money. After leaving in the rental car, I called the dealership where my car was purchased and was told by that service manager that I needed to be calling consumer affairs and open a case number to review my case for assistance. So I did, only to be denied any assistance at all. When I asked to take case a step further, I was told it would be 24-48 hours before anyone would call me back. I begged her (Keona) to forego the 24 to 48 hour period as I am stranded on the side of the road 9 hours from my home. All this to no avail!!! My whole visit to my daughters house was stressful as I was concerned how I was getting home. To be told Nissan was taking care of me and then Sorry, we are not!!! Again, who does that?
I have worst experience with my new pathfinder, it shakes very bad at slow RPM. I took it to dealership. They kept my car about a week and returned after added 160 miles on it and told me it is all done, they updated the software but guess what, it didnt work. Very next day, I had to take my car again. It is still there, no answer, no explanation. Dealership said nissan has a issue with pathfinder, then why they need to launch this vehicle.
My credit is good so I financed my new 2016 Nissan Rogue at my credit union with no trouble. A couple of weeks later, I mistakenly pumped diesel fuel in my new car. It happened at Sheetz. They say it cant be done and the nozzle wouldnt fit. They finally said it is Nissans fault. Nissan passed me around from one customer service person to another. It appears to be a game with them. They seem to have a lot of customer service people who will call you and ask you a few questions just to have someone else call you. It definitely is a way of looking like they are paying attention to you but the result is they wont do anything to help you. Besides that problem that same day, I tried to use Nissan roadside assistance which I had been told I should have, when it happened. My tow charges were more because they said I didnt have it when I tried to use it and I was forced to call 911. I understand I made a mistake but that nozzle fit right into my car and the only way I saw what had happened was when my car stalled and I read my receipt. Anyway, both Nissan and Sheetz first said they would help but then wouldnt. Dont buy a Nissan. There is no customer service. They will just waste your time. Reference telephone for Nissan **. I think it is time to run these foreign vendors out of the US since they wont take any responsibility for the faulty design of their cars.
Ive had a 2016 Nissan Titan XD for the almost a year now and have enjoyed the truck, however, I was recently in an accident and was in need for parts. I have been waiting on parts for over 2 months now with no promise of getting my part any time soon. Upon talking to Nissan I got some rehearsed spiel about the backorder and was given no information on where the part is, why its been backordered over 2 months or when I would get it. I have been paying rental car fees for the last month out of pocket because the insurance coverage of a rental expired so everyday Im out more money because they cant produce the part I need. Ive driven a Nissan for the last 20 years and have been satisfied until this problem arose. Not being able to get the necessary parts makes me not that interested in driving Nissans if Im going to have to deal with this kind of issue anytime, God forbid, I would be in a wreck or some other problem comes up. So if youre thinking of buying a Nissan just beware that this issue could also become your issue.
I had a horrible experience in every aspect of my purchase. I had a truck moved from my dealerships lot a few miles away. I asked to wait to view the truck in person BEFORE signing any documents. I was assured that the documents I was signing were related to the loan and extended warranty and I would be able to see the vehicle before signing. I was offered $2000 off by another dealer but it was too late, unknown to me I already signed. I had to purchase bed extender and was supposed to receive 15% off for my VIP package, negative, paid full price. I took my truck in for service and spent over 2 hours watching soap operas for an OIL CHANGE!!! Last straw was my drivers door. The door is not aligned properly. When opening the door falls and causes and overlap with the rear door. It closes with some force. I took to the dealership for repair under warranty. I was leaving town for a few days and had to take a cab to the airport to get a rental. I was called and told my truck was ready. I returned and took another cab ride to pick up my truck. SAME PROBLEM. The dealer did offer me a loaner which was nice BUT upon returning to get my truck a second time... SAME PROBLEM!!! I will likely never buy another Nissan EVER!!! The only reason I purchased this one is that there were limited options. I was driving a 2014 RAM 1500 Crew cab which I loved but I live in the city/suburbs and needed something smaller for daily driving. The only options were Tacoma, Frontier or Colorado. The Frontier won based on size and price. Im now wishing I had paid extra for a better product and service. Ive had nothing but problems from the purchase to service.
I recently traded in my leased Nissan Altima for a used Juke at Vaden Nissan in Bluffton SC. I gave them the payoff on my Altima (through Nissan Motor Acceptance), which they confirmed. The dealership also performed an inspection on my Altima. We discussed a new deal for a used Nissan Juke. They agreed to pay off my Nissan balance, and I financed the price that we agreed to. Four months later I get a bill saying that I owe Nissan Motor Acceptance $1273. I called Nissan Motor Acceptance, and they claimed there was excessive wear and tear on the vehicle, along with an early termination fee. This Altima was in very good shape when Vaden looked at it. It was my understanding when I drove my Juke out their dealership, that we agreed to a deal which had a commitment from both sides. Now they are telling me the charges are non-negotiable. I told both Nissan Motor Acceptance and Vaden Nissan that if I would have known that I owed another $1273, there is no way I would have completed this deal. Who does business like that??? I have NEVER had a problem with Subaru or Toyota coming back to me for charges after a lease. As far as I am concerned, when we agreed to certain numbers, then I shook hands with the salesman, and then drove off the lot, the deal should be over!!! Thanks for reading!
My husband and I purchased a brand new 2014 Murano... a car we loved! It drives beautifully. Sadly, weve run into two separate issues multiple times. First, the drivers side visor breaks constantly!!!! We dont use it often but have replaced it several times. At first they were covered by our warranty, but now they want $185 for a new one. What???? And you cant find a used drivers side visor for anything. Not a single one at a junk yard (although the passenger side visors ARE available.)Then, our ac went out three times while under warranty (we live in AZ so no ac is brutal)! We had the compressor replaced three times. The third time we had a service agent say he would try to get us a brand new one (compressor). What the heck were they putting in before???? Also, my friend got a Murano. She had the exact same problem multiple times! A $40k car should NOT have these defects. (AND, while our Murano was in to have the compressor replaced, there were two times the dealership kept our car for multiple days without updating us on the status of the repairs.)Thank goodness we were still under warranty. Now our warranty has expired and Im afraid well run into the compressor issue again. I will be furious if that happens! We cant afford such expensive repairs, especially since the car has only had about 10-12k miles a year put on it. Well below average. As much as I love the look and feel of Nissan vehicles, we wont be buying another one. I have a Chevy that hasnt had any problems at all and its a 2015. Even our 2005 Dodge Ram has been amazing. Very few service needs other than the basics such as oil and filter maintenance, tire rotation, etc. I can count on one hand the number of times Ive written a negative review, but this situation warrants it.
My 2004 Infinity G35 had a recall on air bags. Had the work done but the light keep coming on. Went back to dealer and was told it was my job to get it fixed. Never had this problem before they work on the air bags. I feel the dealer should fix the problem. I sent a letter 06-5-11 on this. Have not heard from anyone. I would like to fix it or go to small claims court.
I came in to speak with someone about the paint peeling off my car. My car is a 2003 Nissan Sentra. I was told my complaint was denied due to it being 7 years old. Roof and trunk are peeling off. Car is well maintained, waxed 2 times a year. I feel that Nissan should at least fix this problem. This is my first new car, and I am disgusted with the way it know looks. I have been told by several body shops that this is a manufacture defect. Please think about this, Im ready to call turn to ten, Susan **. I dont come down to this, but I will. Thank You.
I purchased Nissan Rogue 2013 model. I am living in California with beautiful climate. From past 6 months on my car paint is peeling off very badly. Looks like problem with the paint. I called the dealer and discussed on this. They said warranty period over. Not able to assist. Customer support/dealer is not telling the root cause of paint being peeled out. Can some please help me on this?
Purchased a Pathfinder November 2013. Last year and a half we had a new transmission put in and then took it back for transmission issues after that. Now our electrical panel fried. Im almost at 29000 miles with a basic factory warranty. Help.
My car decelerates when I get on interstate and I took it to the Nissan dealership. And theres no codes showing up and she told me theres nothing that they can do about it until they have a code. So they rather for the car to kill me than to fix the problem. I will never buy another Nissan. You would think buying a new car you wouldnt have problems with the transmission.
I am a very unhappy customer after purchasing a New 2016 Nissan Rogue. I have a claim into Nissan Consumer Affair. My brand new vehicle is sitting at the car dealer where I purchased my car, with a loud front end knocking noise. After being a Nissan consumer with a Nissan Altima never had a problem, always paid my car payment on time, and this is how I get treated as a customer. VERY HAPPY CUSTOMER.
I have received poor customer service on a vehicle that has been nothing but trouble since the day I drove it off the lot. I have reached out to your department, the dealership, the warranty company (Security plus Extended Warranty) and gotten no resolution. I purchased the car in 2011 excited to have my second Nissan, my first was a Sentra back in 1988, this vehicle also had transmission issues but Nissan took care of it. I purchased the Murano along with a three thousand dollar extended gold plus warranty. I had to return the vehicle the next day because of a cracked windshield that was noticed upon my drive home.After a few days the windshield was fixed. Then the vehicle maintenance issues began. In review of my records I note that my car has spent at least 30 days in the shop getting fixed. I have missed a total of 40 hours of work on the phone with the warranty company, the dealership, consumer affairs and driving back and forth to the dealership. (dealership is in Costa Mesa and I work in Chino Hills and live in Brea) not to mention the gas I spent going back and forth and the pure stress of having to fix my car over and over again never feeling secure to drive it other than to work and back.I have attached a copy of proof that 3 different transmissions were put into this car and that multiple major items have had to be replaced, most recently the radiator which happened at night and I was not near a dealership and had to pay 900.00 dollars out of pocket to get fixed. I am still waiting for the warranty company to get back to me on this but from my previous experience I am not hopeful.The biggest disappointment came when my car had spent over 2 weeks in the repair shop having the entire engine rebuilt, transmission issues etc. and only after a couple weeks the vehicle began to have new issues, I took the vehicle to the dealership and they said it was the catalytic converter. I called the warranty company and was told by two representatives that this was a covered item. The dealership reported that it was not covered, which made no sense. I then contacted the warranty company again and they had a specialist review the issue. I was informed the catalytic converter was covered if it was welded on the vehicle but not if it was bolted and mine was bolted.This is absurd. How the company chooses to make it should not be the customers issue. This is a Nissan issue. Not to mention knowing that the vehicle had previously had so many serious problems how could they not correct this? That is just poor customer care! I filed a complaint with your consumer affairs department because I no longer wanted the vehicle and it was clear that the vehicle is a lemon and I could not afford to fix the catalytic converter. I had already paid too much for the car to begin with. I was informed that it did not qualify for the lemon law and there was nothing they would do. They mentioned something about it needing to have had more than one transmission replacement. I couldnt believe it. It was obvious Nissan did not care about their customers or their reputation and that they did not do their research because it had had more than one transmission issue.I used Yelp, Facebook and Twitter to express my justified dissatisfaction and was contacted by the Dealership but still nothing was done to correct the issue. The cooperate offices were aware of these issues and my dissatisfaction and still no one did anything to correct the problem. I am left with a broken vehicle which I cannot get rid of because I am paying for an extended warranty that will not help me. I am upside down, paying almost 500 dollars a month on a car I am afraid to drive. This is no longer a vehicle problem but an actual safety concern.A few weeks after the catalytic converter issue I was driving down a main hwy and the car stopped, the radiator was shot and the car was overheating, no warning at all. I was able to get help and pull it into a repair shop. The vehicle was fixed for 900.00 dollars, money I did not have. I was left with no car, stranded at night and for the next two days.Now just a month later the car is making another strange noise and I have issues with the steering. (the steering being something that was a problem before) I return again to the Costa Mesa Dealership where the maintenance supervisor sits with me and reviews my entire record. I explain my frustrations and he agrees to look at the car. I am waiting now to find out what is wrong but at this point I cannot pay to have it fixed and I do not want the vehicle. I should not have to roll the upside down amount into another car and I should not have to pay for the radiator or the extended warranty that did not cover everything as I was told at the time that it would. The exact words of the dealership were if you get this warranty it WILL COVER EVERYTHING but for regular items such as brakes, tires, oil changes. Apparently that is not true.I take my car in every 3,000 miles an oil change, I even use upgraded oil. I have tires rotated, I keep it clean and I drive it with care but it doesnt matter the car just doesnt run properly. Please review the service receipts and tell me how this issue can be resolved? I do not want this car any longer and I do not feel safe driving it. I want to be reimbursed for the warranty and the radiator, and I want the vehicle gone. I will be happy to purchase another vehicle from a NISSAN dealership but I do not want to be penalized for the issues with this car. In other words I still owe 11,000 (3,000 is the warranty) and the car is not worth that, this is not my fault and I should not be penalized for it.The bigger issue is that Nissan is showing that they do not care about their customers safety or the quality of their vehicles. When will Nissan correct this issue? When the car stops on the freeway because of another problem and I killed in an accident? I cant imagine that a company is that greedy and has that type of customer relations. Although it appears at this point that is accurate. I am hoping that this issue can be resolved and that I can once again take to the road in a safe vehicle. Thank you.
I bought a 2012 Nissan Rouge new in 2012. Last week while driving on a busy street 285 in Atlanta the car lost power and I almost had a few accidents. I took the car to a Nissan dealer in Buford GA and they said the transmission was gone. I have 82,000 miles on the car. I asked how much to fix, they said around $5000.00. I explained that other places said $3500, they told me the reason its this high is Nissan will not put in a transmission without a blower to cool the transmission fluid thats what is causing the breakdowns. I asked why was this not on my car when I bought it, he just looked at me. I said is this a defect, he did not answer. The blower is an additional $1200 for just the blower. I talked to Nissan and asked them to cover the whole replacement. They offered $1,000 which does not even cover the blower. This should and I am sure will be a recall someday. I guess I will park the car till then. Lastly in talking to the lady in warranty she had no clue about the blower and said she does not know cars but thats her decision. Can someone help me with this.
As a person who purchased six (6) high end Nissans, I was treated like crap when I lost my job. The payment extension that was supposedly mailed out didnt show up. After 2 weeks and at least 2 calls, Im getting really frustrated. It took nearly 3 weeks to receive the one (1) sheet form. A few days after not receiving the paperwork, I called to request extension form be faxed to me. A few days and three calls later, I finally received the fax. I signed and returned immediately using priority mail (2 day). I confirmed with USPS that the package had been delivered in specified time. I had verification of receipt, and verbal confirmation after calling. Nissan did not process the paperwork for over a week after receipt. The form is one sheet of paper, and I returned it before specified return date, despite Nissans 2-week delay in sending.Lo and behold, I see my credit report and it has a 30-day late mark. I call Nissan. The representative stated, The return date doesnt mean we wont mark you late if we dont process your paperwork immediately. I tried disputing and writing a letter of dispute. However, Nissan just changed the date of the mark on the credit report. In fact, the date was changed 3 times, changing the 30-day late from from Jan. - Feb., Feb - Mar., Mar - Apr. Finally, I contacted the Better Business Bureau. After an inquest, the late was changed to January again; I just became tired of trying to fix the lie. Im not going to even get into the nightmare with Nissan sequel a year or so later, when the car was stolen. I really hope there is a class action lawsuit soon...Im in!! Nissan no more!!! If anyone knows of a class action lawsuit in the midst, contact me, please!
Just bought and two years of approximate use 69,000 miles. TRANSMISSION broke and had to paid about 2,500 because the train was damage... Yeah right they caught me but I will never recommend a NISSAN AGAIN.
2009 Nissan Altima Transmission - I just received a call from an Ashley and she said at this time Nissan couldnt offer any type of reimbursement for my transmission. Im just curious to know if they even took into consideration that I took my car to Nissan to have it looked at because the transmission was going into safe mode when it would get hot. We put it on the machine and there were no codes that came up on the transmission so I went ahead and had them change the fluids and filter and whatever it is they do for a transmission service. I leave the dealership and I smell fluid but thought nothing of it. I drive my 60 miles home and the next morning my husband drives his 48 miles to work. When I go outside to take my daughter to school there is a big puddle of transmission fluid in my drive way. I call my husband and when he gets to car after work sure enough there is a puddle of transmission fluid under my car.I called the dealership and they waited till 6 oclock for my husband to drive the car another 50+ miles to see what was going on. Turns out a hose had split and leaked out the transmission fluid. They fixed the hose put transmission fluid back into my car and washed out from underneath car because it was covered in fluid. Then almost 2 months later my cars transmission has all these codes and I need a new one. I didnt ask for the full amount I just feel like Nissan should provide the customer service that they say they will. Theres been numerous problems with the 2009 Nissan and thats why they extended the transmission warranty and the steering lock box which went out in my car and left me and my daughter stranded and a tow bill. I just feel like Im being done unfair and put in a financial situation for servicing my car. I mean would the transmission of went out if it didnt leak out the fluid after the service? I tried calling her back and even left a voicemail but she still hasnt returned my call. I also read the letter online where Kevin Martin said that they were trying to make the repair affordable if car was out of warranty. I just feel Ive been done unfair considering the incident with my car after the transmission service.
So I just bought a 2015 Nissan Rogue. I gave it its first bath. I went to flip the wipers up and lo and behold when I did so the wiper hits the hood! I opened hood to see if that was somehow the problem. It was to no avail. So now every time I clean or scrape snow from the windshield and want to lock them upright, I cant. Not without turning on my car, turning it off and hitting the wiper stick twice... I guess, I read this in a forum. I have yet to see if it works and even so quite annoying. Also difficult to do when its locked up in ice and snow. So beware snow dwelling Rouge owners!
In November 2007 we bought our 1st and last Nissan. Against my better judgement, I relented and agreed to buy my wife her Nissan SUV. My reluctance was based on the cvt, which in my opinion was unproven technology. My fears were not unfounded. After 75000 miles of fair service the cvt issues began to manifest themselves in the form of a load clicking when cold. This load clicking is only under load or when car is in motion, also while cold there is a metallic screech or scraping noise on acceleration, and lastly a shuttering on acceleration from a stop as if hunting for the right gear to start out in.Wife took car to Mcgrath Nissan of Elgin Il for routine oil change as she always did, and asked to check for the noise, she was told “We can hear no noise but there is rust on your brake rotors and the rear pads are very low 1-2 mm. Do a brake job and see if your noise goes away. So I think for argument’s sake let’s do a brake job and eliminate their rederick. I performed a 4 wheel brake job pads, rotors, and hardware. Upon removal of said parts rear pads were actually closer to 5mm and fronts 10-11mm. But ok I bought the parts, let’s put them on. Guess what? Same noises and symptoms. Back to Mcgrath. Now we’re told $120.00 to diagnose problem.But that would go away if they found it to be cvt problem. I was confident they would find the problems to be the cvt and agreed.After letting car sit out and cooling down tech took for a test drive, and heard the clicking, and screech, but not the shuddering. It was his diagnosis the clicking is in the upper engine. Now how can this be if it only happens while transmission is engaged? We can pull the valve cover off and inspect the engine for $350.00. There may be varnish or sludge build up. The oil changes always performed on time, at your facility with your recommended oils how would this be possible? Well stuff happens Im told. How is it the noise only occurs while transmission is engaged? No answer. What about the screech? The tech said it is slight or faint and not bad enough for Nissan to warranty the problem. What good is a 120,000 mile cvt warranty if Nissan won’t honor it and repair a problem?In all fairness to Mcgrath Nissan they did waive the $120.00 charge for the inspection, when confronted with my disappointment in their product. And I do understand they dont want to get stuck with a repair that Nissan won’t reimburse them for. But at 76000 miles on a car to have a failure of the cvt that has been problems from day 1 for hundreds if not thousands of rogue owners, they obviously know there is an inherent problem with the first generation Rogue cvt’s as they redesigned them in subsequent years, and replace the catastrophic failures with the new design. There is no one in the world that can convince me that the Japanese manufacturers build quality is superior as I have had a similar experience with Toyota as well. MY advice is buy American, my friends.
I purchased a pre-owned certified 2013 Nissan Pathfinder about 1.5 years ago and it was a terrible purchase. I have spent a few thousands of dollars on this car on top of having purchased an extended warranty. There were at least two recalls on this car that were addressed after I purchased the car, two window motor failures within the first year, the compressor from the AC is in the process of being replaced. I will say that these repairs were covered; however, I have had to pay a few thousands for items that were considered normal wear and tear which some items I didnt expect to have to cover so soon after purchasing the car and considering it was a certified car. Overall, I am so disappointed in my purchase and I do not plan on owning another Nissan car again.
After exchanging my leased 2005 Nissan Altima for a new leased 2009 Nissan Altima, I was billed over $2,000 for excess damage. After reviewing the inspection report (inspection done by a third party company, without my review or given the chance to correct damages before turning the vehicle), I wrote a letter of dispute to NMAC and sent it registered mail and submitted payment in full for the items I agreed to. NMAC did not respond in writing or by phone to my letter of dispute. After a few months, I began to receive collection letters from an outside collection firm. Again I sent a letter of dispute to NMAC and sent a copy of the dispute for the file to Experian, Equifax and TransUnion credit bureaus. After a few more months I began to notice the adverse credit notations regarding this transaction with each credit bureau report.Once again I requested in a letter to NMAC that they respond to my original dispute and remove the adverse credit information from each credit bureau. After two years, I finally received a response. A demand for payment of the disputed amount and a comment that they viewed my original dispute as frivolous and without merit. After over three years, this adverse credit mark is still showing up and impacting my credit score negatively. I bought out my lease on my current Altima and will never again buy a Nissan product. I also go to great lengths to tell all of my friends and acquaintances to beware of doing business with Nissan and especially NMAC. Nissan may feel that they have won a battle with me for approximately $1,700.00, but I will try to hurt their sales as much as possible through my negative comments to friends and acquaintances. While in graduate business school, I learned that on average, consumers who have good experience with a company share it with one other person. Those who have a bad experience share it with an average of eleven other people. Im beating the average.
I traded in a Nissan Rogue and purchased a 2013 Nissan Sentra on February 15, 2013. Since a week after I purchased the car, the brakes have been making an unpleasant sound as soon as you push the brakes. It feels like air in the brakes. I have been at the Nissan dealership 3 times already, contacted Nissan Consumer Affairs, opened a claim, and an engineer finally went to the dealership to test the car. Final response, it is a characteristic of the car and it’s normal. It is not normal that the brakes are making a strange sound that to me is a great safety issue as I drive a lot and I also have a baby. It is unbelievable the service I have received from Nissan and even worse that they just clean their hands after selling you a car. They dont know how to fix the car and they wont take my car in because to them it is a normal issue. I have not had a response from Consumer Affairs and I cannot believe that a 2-month-old car is giving me so many problems. I need help in regards to this situation. As a customer and user, I should not be forced to retain a car that is not functioning properly, and it has safety concerns for me and my family. The dealership has been unresponsive and they even said that because it was a characteristic of the car, the lemon law does not apply. The law should not allow dealerships just to sell cars and then dont take care of their customers. It is not normal for a two-month-old car to be having issues with brakes and a person does not buy new car to be having issues with brakes just two months after and the dealership, just because they dont know what it is, cleans their hands.
My family and I were debating about purchasing a new 2016 Nissan Rouge thinking it was a safe and a reliable family car but encountering these extremely dangerous mechanical issues I faced with my family in the car going 65 mph on the interstate had me thinking otherwise. The transmission fails when needing to accelerate then cuts back on after we just nearly missed getting into an accident with an 18 wheeler. This car is unsafe and was recalled by Nissan to get this issue fixed so I mean, they should be aware of this problem with these cars now that we are out of the extended warranty. Ms Amber ** the manager and Joe the specialist both specified (that they are not in the position to do anything) for our family that they are sorry, OK, thank you. Just like that she ended the conversation. So now that you know they will not back up their product and at least help the cost of repair or completely exchanging it for the type 2 transmission for the car, please dont buy a Nissan. Read all defects and reviews, know how many people they have turned away because of this problem. Please choose a safer car for your family to drive in. Thank you for your time.
We purchased our family dream car and recently noticed an issue. Online I read the likeliness of the CVT transmission being the issue that many customers are experiencing so we took it to our local dealer expecting the recall. The recall covers several years worth of Nissan car makes and models, but did not include ours. At 88,000 miles we were told the entire transmission needed to be replaced, with a cooler for the transmission too. The grand total quote of nearly $5500. We only owe $4000 on the car. A hard working family of 4 now has a family dream car that they cannot afford to fix. I read online calling consumer affairs would be a joke, it was. I called and waited the 24 hours for Nissan Consumer Affairs to tell me that there was nothing they could do.What this customer heard, my family hears, what everyone I know will hear is that Nissan does not stand by their cars. Nissan does not care about my family. Only 88,000 miles and we have a dead car, along with a sorry theres nothing we can do. Obviously there is a problem with the CVT transmission that needs to extend to the 2011 models too, Nissan. Very disappointed.
I know these complaints are mostly about Nissan Muranos. I presently own a 08 Nissan Rogue in which my transmission went out on me while on road trip from North Carolina. I purchased it from Nissan dealership in 2011 with approximately 50k. I presently have 121k miles. When I found it was the transmission I did some research because as long I have been driving I know transmission dont go out on cars at 121k. I called Nissan consumer care and found out that an extended warranty is on Rogue transmissions. Being that I had 121k I ask about the mileage on warranty at 120k. I was told mileage didnt matter and take to Nissan dealership. The dealership diagnosed as needing a new transmission. I found a letter on Nissan website stating that the warranty on CVT transmission had been extended to 120k /10 yrs from 60k 5 yrs. The letter also states that even past warranty mileage that decrease in repair cost would occur by Nissan. After speaking with Nissan Ive been told that no previous problem with transmission and being out of warranty they couldnt assist me with my transmission. Doing further research there are many people having/had issues with the CVT transmissions in Rogue/Muranos. I spoke with a few mechanics who said that transmissions dont fail @121k and Nissan had issues with CVT transmission. Right now I feel Im caught in rock and hard place. I have to spend $3500-$4000 for a major repair for a car that Im still paying for. I have purchased 3 prior Nissans and always thought highly for their cars. I believe that Nissan is trying to deflect responsibility for having a defective part. I just want Nissan to own up and replace it in good faith. I like the car, but after this Ill seriously consider and likely purchasing other brands and models of auto other than Nissans
I am trying to obtain the necessary form to transfer my lease. My original request was placed on July 19. I was told the form would be faxed and/or mailed to me. Several phone calls inquiring about the whereabouts of the document have produced only excuses and no results. My last three vehicles have been Nissan products but I can assure you, based on this experience, it will be my last. May I have the courtesy of a solution to this problem.
Service Department issues-- NEVER AGAIN! My 2008 Rogue showed some weird transmission issues on a trip to Virginia on 4 occasions. After some research we learned about a CVT issue with the Nissan transmissions in these autos. Called our service department to report the issue and they took us right away. They acknowledged the transmission issue and related the steps that should be taken 1) schedule and service the transmission 2) a add-on cooler product 3) new transmission. Nissan, as an aside, has increased the warranty on these transmissions from 60,000 to 120,000 miles, acknowledging the issue.I called Nissans consumer affairs department to report the issue and to see if I was a candidate to replace my transmission. My car is used on long journeys often and this CVT issue only happens when the transmission has heated up because of a long journey - 200-300 miles. Once its cooled down, it corrects itself; however, when it happens, one loses all transmission power and acceleration ability. I also wanted Nissan consumer affairs to understand that we use this vehicle on Rt. 95 and we could be killed if we cannot get our car to accelerate.I spoke with 2 different reps who were empathetic, then my last encounter was with someone very rude. It was then I asked for a manager to call and she did. She was pleasant and understanding. I outlined my concern and she and I agreed that if there were any symptoms of the issue again, I would call her immediately and we would address it then. I was satisfied at this juncture and felt comfortable with our agreement. I then received a customer satisfaction survey from Nissan about my service experience. While the team at Hawthorne Nissans service department was nice and helpful, I didnt give Nissan a good customer satisfaction survey because I wasnt satisfied with my vehicles issue.The survey prompted a call from the service director who was concerned about his service departments score and wanted to do a deeper dive on my vehicle problem. I told him at the present time there werent any issues. He said he wanted to replicate the drive so they could experience the problem by taking my car for the weekend and giving it to the errand person and then having the service manager drive it home which is about an hour from the service center. I advised that this short driving would NEVER replicate the issue.Nevertheless, I was agreed and dropped my car off with the understanding that I would need a loaner vehicle. They hesitated but agreed. I stopped after work and picked up the loaner which had just over a quarter of a tank of gas and was given strict instructions that I must return it with exactly the same amount of gas. Ok. Then as I sat in the drivers seat they said, oh by the way, the passengers side door doesnt work.I took the loaner and parked it in my driveway. It was of no use to me without an operating passenger door. This is when my husband got involved. First thing Monday I called about my car and was told they couldnt find anything which I knew would be the case. I told them Id be in to get it. This was after my husband called and addressed the broken SERVICE department loaner issue with the director who seemed nonplussed about the entire situation.The story gets better because my car tire light was on when I got into my car. Remember the Service manager drove my car and I was appalled that he couldnt put a tire gauge on it and see if it needed air. What kind of service is that? Oh, and I had to throw away the lunch garbage that someone left in my vehicle too. Last, I learned that my car had been sitting in the service department parking lot the entire weekend.We did call back consumer affairs and reported the incident. My husband did re-engage with the service director who basically blew him off with an Oh well. This was after he told him never again would we service our car with Nissan or buy another Nissan vehicle. I pray that this transmission issue doesnt arise again and we arent killed on the highway. Im hoping to be rid of this car before anything else happens.
At 113,000 needed new transmission. After 18,000 heard same high whining noise after driving for 30 minutes. Said was transmission - gave me a new one. Its been 5,000 miles - same thing - and now say I need a transmission cooler kit which isnt covered under my transmission warranty. Will cost $1800. My question is how come when I got 2 new transmissions, the noise went away. If this was the original noise, how come it goes away after new transmission? The dealer and corp cant answer that. I believe wrong diagnosis and it is the transmission. I wont add $1800 to a used car without knowing thats the problem for sure. It may be the problem. Like I said every time I got a new transmission, it never made any noise. Only later after certain miles put on it. I will never buy a Nissan again and my family who owns will not either.
Financed a 2013 Altima SV. From the get-go I had signs that CVT transmission is bogus. Getting onto the highway it would rev up to 5k RPM and not shift up every now and then. AC went out around 70k mls, would only work when Im driving. Then around 100k mls the transmission started having issues. Vehicle would just die when I come to a red light or stop sign every now and then. Then it got worse - if I slow down and do a california stop the rpms would drop below 1k and engine felt like it was going to die. Then finally vehicle just died when I came to a stop sign. I turn it on, runs fine, I put it in gear and it dies. Just jerks forward and dies. Brought it to Nissan dealer. They said needs transmission - not telling me what actually failed in the transmission. Mechanics do not know anything about transmissions.They rang up a $4500 bill for a new transmission. I could not afford this bill and they ended up getting me into ANOTHER CVT Altima. When I clearly told them I do not want a Nissan CVT but they said that is the only thing they can do. Without any other means of transportation I had to take this deal in order for me to keep my job. After getting a unwanted second CVT Altima - I started asking around. One of the mechanics told me you are suppose to change the transmission fluid every 6 months. Another mechanic told me its a sealed transmission and you shouldnt have to do anything to it. Another told me check it every now and then. Manual says to check it at 60k. None of the mechanics or service advisers gave me same story.Vehicle put me in danger by shutting down with 18 wheelers behind me honking at the green light. Vehicle is dangerous to drive as it is unstable in windy weather. The hood itself looks like its going to fly away by all the shaking its doing when you are driving on the highway. Now Nissan holds NO VALUE! Nissan corporation floods the market with cheaply made vehicles that break down and MAKE you get into another Nissan. The Nissan I got into 2015 was priced at $25,000+ retail. 4 months later with 13k mls - its worth $13000 at best. Now this is a $12,000 value drop in 4 months? Really Nissan? I ended up taking a repo on this POS. And guess what? When you tell Nissan you are doing a voluntary surrender - they put you on an hour wait or just hang up. They were so quick to take my money, but when I want to give them their POS back they drag it out. Come on Nissan. This is no way to treat your customers.No wonder your power train warranty is only up to 60k mls. Because you know your vehicles will not stand the test of time. Nissan is here for a quick buck. They put you in a vehicle that breaks down or loses value so quickly that you are always upside down. So you are either stuck financing another Nissan with a discount or taking a repo, or if you are lucky paying it off and dumping it as quick as you can. I was a loyal customer to Nissan for over 3 years. Never missed or was late on a single payment. Mandatory service at Nissan dealer and your vehicle breaks down at 100k? Your stickers should say Dont plan to drive this forever. Clean up your act Nissan. Teach your mechanics how to service your transmission properly or replace them when they break down like you expect. Nissan, you lost another loyal customer and I will never buy a Nissan product again. You should be ashamed!
Since I purchased my car, the tires will not stay inflated. I have to add air, every week. There is vibration when I exceed 60 mph. The Sun Roof sometimes works, and sometimes when it closes it sounds like the glass is going to break. The passenger side window sounds the same way. Ive taken my car into the dealership at least 10 times since I purchased it. They do nothing about the tires. They find nothing wrong with the car when they test drive it to feel the vibration (on the local streets). As if I dont know at the age of 49 whether a brand new car should have vibration. The passenger side front window motor has now been replaced. On my way back from a customers - 2-hour drive - my air conditioner stopped working. It was only 97 degrees outside. Finally by mid-day the next day it started working again. Took it to Nissan. They couldnt find anything wrong. My drive is 10 mile drive across town (30 mins one way) to get to the Nissan dealership. They would not give me a discount on an oil change, a car to drive, or offered me anything. After 10 visits in 1 1/2. I reached out to the home office. They agreed to do a lemon review. As I suspected, they say they do not feel it is a lemon. Brand new car, $500 a month I pay to go into the dealership at least every other month. Currently sitting at 30,000 miles. I put air in my tire on Monday - 33 lbs. Today it shows 29 lbs. 5 days. Ive had my Toyota since 2001 and had to take it in to get the computer fixed at 140,000 miles. $350. Other than that, normal wear/tear. Its still running fine pushing 200k miles. The best part, Action Nissan, offered to put me into a new Nissan. At an inflated cost - $600 doc fee, $19k on my trade (which I owe $22k and at the time they were selling them for $25k - which I sent them pics of the ads) and they wanted me to pay $38-35k for the new one when they were running ads offering them at a price of $25,600 which I also showed them pictures of. I had a crappy car and have a very demanding sales job. I need reliable transportation. I have been inconvenienced 10 times - because each time Ive had to leave my car over night. I do not have a second vehicle as my child drives the Toyota now. They would not discount an oil change and wanted to screw me over by trying to get me to pay about $10k more for a new car. I told them I would not even consider a new car if the Nissan that I have worked. I keep cars until they hit about 150k mileage. So not only would I be upside down in my car, but they want to overcharge me for the new one. (Im in finance - I ran the numbers). Action Nissan sucks, Nissan Corporation sucks. 1st time owning a Nissan. LAST time owning a Nissan. They dont stand behind their cars, they have terrible customer service, and then they try to screw over their customers. I will be getting rid of my Nissan soon. I will continue to spread the word to my friends and family to NEVER own a Nissan. 1200 people will know.
I live in VA and was driving to Alabama on March 2, 2016. First distance drive with car (2016 Nissan 370Z with 5,000 miles) and the clutch went out in Atlanta on I-85. I was able to drive it to a safe spot but it scared the crap out of me. I-85 in traffic not a good place for the clutch to stick and only able to go in 2nd gear. I had to stay at a hotel in Atlanta. Got up early to take car to dealer and the car would not engage in any gear. Had to have it towed to dealer. The Nissan Dealer in Atlanta did provide a rental car so I was able to continue my journey to Alabama. Was informed that my car would be repaired on my return, Sunday March 4th. Received a call and was told the clutch part was not available in all of North America and would be expedited from Japan. I continued my trip back home to VA in the rental car. I have spoken to the local car dealer in Staunton VA where I purchase the car and they stated a new replacement car could not happen. As I no longer feel safe driving the manual transmission I asked if I could replace the car with a new or fairly new automatic 370Z. I purchased the car in November 2015 with only 25 miles. In reading and researching I have found that other 370Z owners are having the same problem with the clutch. This is a serious safety concern. One in which I could have gotten into an accident. It seems car manufacturers wait until serious accidents occur or death before recalls are issued. I hope and pray the car is completely repaired but hesitate to drive it once it arrives from Atlanta back to VA. Nissan is scheduled to have it delivered from Atlanta to the dealer in Staunton VA some time before the end of March 2016. Ive never purchased a brand new car in which the clutch gave out with less than 5,000 miles. I feel like Im stuck with a car that I no longer want to drive much less pay for. It has crossed my mind to allow a serious hit to my credit score and voluntary repossess the car so that I have peace of mind and feel safe.
I have a 2010 Nissan Armada that began running poorly 2 months. I took it to the dealership and a secondary mechanic. Both said the engine needed to be replaced costing over $10,000. Likely cause is flex fuel. Warranty was for 5 years. Nissan will not offset the cost. No vehicle should need a new engine after 5 years unless its garbage.Upon contacting the Nissan corporate office regarding my 2010 Nissan Armada that needs its engine replaced - I was shuttled around to various representatives. None could answer my questions competently. Worse off - they would never give their true names. The area code was for Tennessee, but the reality is that its an answering service in the Philippines claiming to be a regional office. Dont trust Nissan.
We bought a Qashqai late last year with 68 registration and for the second time in short space of time, my car refuses to start this morning. I was told by RAC man the last time that there was a fault in the car - something was draining the battery. I took the car to Nissan garage afterward for diagnostics and fixture, after which I was assured that the problem had been fixed. To my amazement, my car refuses to start this morning and We had the same problem with our previous Nissan Juke. I will never buy a Nissan car again!
I purchased my 2017 Nissan Titan with high hopes and excitement but all the hype did not last. The driver seat broke not shortly after I purchased the truck and has been replaced 3 times and is process of getting repaired for the fourth time. It developed an oil leak after around 5,000 miles which was a valve cover and was repaired but now has another oil leak and the truck only has 14,450 miles. When it snow or ices the parking sensors go haywire. The computer had to be reprogrammed for shifting issues. The rear end has popping sound when the brakes are applied and the list of issues continue to grow. I have gotten to the point that I scared to drive the truck let alone have family ride with me in it. I have been in constant contact with the dealership and consumer affairs. I and just extremely disappointed about this $48000 golden covered **. I just hope people think twice and have better luck when it come to this truck.
The company I work for invested in a fleet of Nissan nv200 cargo vans. I happen to look after maintenance of these vehicles. After using these vehicles for some time weve come to realize it was the worst investment ever. Common issues weve seen at 70k or less. -Rear bearings wear out at~ 30-50ks. -Sliding doors are very hard to close, worst in cold weather. -Back door handle stuck open. (9 of company vans) -Vehicle struggles to move itself even when empty at high speeds. -Cvt transmission is more like a 2 gear tranny constantly shifting back and forth between overdrive (lowest gear) and high gear. -Advertised gas consumption can hardly be met. Nv200 burns a lot of gas considering its a very weak vehicle (average of 12.8 lt/100k). -Extremely non aerodynamic, wind really hurts its performance especially on high speeds 100+. (not fit for highway drives) -Windows start to get stuck at 1 year old.-Last but not least this vehicle is NOT built to handle any accidents. Two 2018s written off due to a fender bender.
I got my Versa on November 2014. I am having problems already. It sounds and has problems like a old car. The shocks/struts are not working at all, the engine leaking oil on and off, air conditioner making funny noises and taking engines power every time that comes on. The engine while idling makes a loud noise and keep doing a clicking sound and the brakes pedal had stuck/locked about couple times already.
Got 2013 versa and brakes have been changed three times already. The fan went out and car ran hot. The ac leaks water on my right food which is going to mold and mildew my carpet. The ac at times took about ten min to blow cold air and the weatherstrip around my windshield has came out three times. Ive only had the car about six months. Also I notice it sputters sometimes when in accelerate. They, well, most of them were rude. Said they would put me in a new car for extra $100 a month which I cant afford and they said it would be another versa!!! I am fed up.
Just bought a 2015 Nissan Rogue SL - Lynnes Nissan. Problem with the transmission getting stuck. Shift gear getting stuck on drive. Can not move in reverse, park or in low gear. Car is a lemon. Want an exchange!
Five Star Nissan Albany, Georgia - I cancelled my Gap ($700) and Service Agreement ($4300), purchased a Nissan Murano for $37000 and ended up paying $53000. I was hit with all kinds of hidden charges and got a $3000 rebate. I got a check for $2300 after all of this. My finance person told me the money would probably be deducted from my finance, but it never was. I would like to know where the rest of the money is. I could have purchased a 750 BMW for this price. I am very disappointed and I dont think I will do business with Nissan again.
My name is Tommy ** with Pro Parts Center. We have be purchasing fleet of NV2500 vans from Central Houston Nissan past couple of years. We have about 12 NV2500 in our fleet. Every single one of the van have had warranty issues with catalytic converter and fuel pumps. I am amazed how Nissan has not issued a recall on this yet. For the most part Central Nissan has taken care of my warranty issues until today. This NV van had 60K miles and I was told by service adviser Anthony that its out of warranty since the catalytic converter has a 50K mile warranty. I explained to him all my other van had the same issues. He advised me the cost will be around $3500 for repairs. Knowing this is an ongoing issue with these vans I wondered why wouldnt NISSAN warranty this one on good faith.Anthony suggested that if I had done their recommended fuel service then this wouldnt have happened. (This angered me more than the $3500 bill.) I told him I even had brought the same vehicle in around 30K miles and had service adviser David ** check on the same issues. He assured me nothing was wrong with this one and noted on my account if the issue arise after warranty that he would take care of it. After I complained and told them the situation was documented in my account prior to the expiration of my warranty, they offered to pay 80% of the cost to repair. I dont understand that if they admit guilt and will pay 80%, why dont they pay the entire balance. This is obviously a defect and should be a nationwide recall. But instead of taking ownership of the problem, Nissan tries to pass the cost to consumers. THIS SHOULD NOT BE TOLERATED. I will continue to send this message to anyone in Nissan that will take my concern seriously. This will be posted to all Nissan social media account until I get a response. This is terrible service especially to a customer that has a fleet of Nissan vehicles. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER NISSAN AGAIN!
I just got a used Nissan Xterra. I had it about two or a year. My transmission was slipping. I found out that Nissan had trouble with the radiator, leaking antifreeze into the transmission fluid making the transmission to go out. This showed a bin. A recall on them if it was a ford. They would fix it for free. If your company does not want to pay for a radiator and the transmission, I will not buy a Nissan again.
The history my wife and I have with this van is as follows. We purchased the Nissan Quest new in May of 2011 trading in our 2008 Nissan Quest. We had no problems with (2011 Quest) it throughout the summer and into early fall. Then late October early November, it started to stall on us as we would drive down our driveway. We took it to the dealership Nov. 18, 2011 and they had replaced the fuel tank because the pick-up line to the front of the tank was poorly designed. We got it back Dec. 16, 2011 being told all is fine. It stalled out again New Years Eve as we drove down the same hill. Our gas tank showed we had 3/8 of a tank of gas. It would do this every time we were going down the hill with under a half tank of gas. Unable to start again until leveled out. Coasting with limited brakes and steering abilities with children in the car down a very steep and windy hill. We took it back to the shop on Jan. 6, 2012 and it has been there since. Nissan had an engineer out to look at the van to make sure they (Nissan mechanics) had installed the new one properly. Engineers discovered a whole new design would be necessary, but that we could drive it as long as we had over a half tank of gas. We refused as it was a safety concern with our large family. They agreed and paid for our rental car and a month payment to accommodate us. After they had it for over a month with still no fix, we decided to file lemon law on it.
I am a 2008 Nissan Titan owner, who is seeking other Nissan owners in the WNC area, whom all of a sudden, after a rain, have their paint delaminating causing a white plaque spreading all over. I took my Titan to 3 different body shops I trust, and they each stated the clear coat was delaminating. It was clearly a manufacturer defect. I contacted not one, but two, local Nissan dealerships and have had their GM, service manager, and Nissan specialists (you name it) look at it and take pictures. I have bent over backwards doing everything that Nissan Corporation has asked while I lose multiple hours at work, including having it looked at by their preferred body shop who even said it is a manufacture defect. Now, after putting over 400 miles on a vehicle I baby and do not drive but for pleasure, they are trying to tell me that since it is out of warranty (though the miles are very low, as again I do not drive it on a normal basis) they dont have to do anything towards my Titan. There are numerous claims by others of the exact same issue happening with them (including a lady at the same dealership the same day as I, complaining about the same thing with her Nissan). Although Nissan Corporation states that they have never heard of this problem before (a simple search shows customers back to 2004 with the same problems), I truly believe a class action lawsuit should be started. Please post your experience and if you live near my area.
Over the past 12 years, I have purchased 6 Nissan vehicles, with the last being in May of this year. In all those years, I have never been late on a payment and have sometimes paid my loans off early. Unfortunately, I filed for bankruptcy two years ago, which was granted. The only thing I kept from that was my Nissan vehicle. In May of 2012, I traded my 2006 Pathfinder for a 2012 Rogue and received financing at 1.9% from the dealership in California where I had purchased several other cars. Since then, I have retired from law enforcement and moved my family to Bowling Green, KY. On 11/07/12, we went to the local dealership to look at the new Nissan Pathfinders. At that time, while investigating trading in our recent purchase for a new Pathfinder, I was told NMAC wouldn’t give me a reasonable interest rate again since I was lucky to get the one in May because of my bankruptcy. Having been a loyal customer and having spent the money I have with your corporation, I felt pretty cheap having been treated that way. If Nissan feels like they were doing me a favor for buying their vehicle, I will have to go somewhere else to purchase my next one.
Never ever will I buy another Nissan. Let me share my experience with you. I was happy to lease my new Xterra last fall (8 months ago). However, they never sent me billing info or statements; yet, they began harassing phone calls immediately. I mean 8-10 calls per day and mostly from people that spoke very broken English. I would state that no payment book was ever sent nor any statement sent to my address. This was the case for the first three months. And yet, the harassing phone calls continued as well as late payment fees. I even drove to and spoke with the general manager at the Nissan dealership where I leased the vehicle. He stated that they had had many complaints about Nissan Motor Acceptance Corp from customers.My newest issue was this month when I moved into a new home and was also traveling for work (June 2012). Because so much was going on, I forgot to send out the payment the first of the month, and the harassing phone calls began immediately. Im not talking 3-4 weeks late. Im talking 7-10 days late and phone calls all day, every day, including weekends. I called Nissan to pay for this month and next and they told me that I have almost $500 in toll-booth violations I have to pay. This puts me over the edge. One, I use toll highways maybe once or twice a month. If that, two, I have EZ Pass and it comes right out of my account. After speaking to several reps who speak very limited English, I am put on hold for 20 minutes and am eventually disconnected. I called back and went through the entire experience again and finally got to speak with a supervisor. I tried to explain my situation after again giving all my info (which takes an eternity) and the supervisor begins talking over me from the very first moment, arguing and questioning everything I am saying. She will not listen to anything I say and tried to argue with me, basically calling me a liar. This continues until I can take no more and I snapped.Advice: regardless of how much you like the Nissan vehicle you are looking at purchasing, dont buy a Nissan. I have owned dozens of cars and have never ever had a negative experience like this from day one. Horrible. Horrible. Horrible. Most unprofessional people/organization I have ever had to deal with!
In 2014 my husband and I bought a brand new 2014 Nissan Rogue. I thought I had my dream car; little did I know, it was a nightmare car. In the last three years we have owned the car it has been in the shop at least 5 times for repairs that were covered under our warranty and two other times for voluntary recalls. I knew there was something not right with the transmission less than a year after we purchased the car. It made funny noises and jumped when changing gears. After 2 and a half years and many attempts to have Nissan look into the problem they finally replaced the transmission when it about fell out in their parking lot!Now, less than a month after having the transmission replaced, I am sitting here trying to get the air conditioning looked at cause there seems to be a leak that WAS NOT there before the transmission replacement. Nissan corporate has refused a buyback and I am stuck with a new car that I am still paying for that is still under warranty which has more problems than any used car Ive ever had!!
I actually got a very good deal on this warranty when we bought a new Nissan Rogue in 2019. It added four years on the factory warranty. We have not used it yet but have full confidence it will be effective. As effective as the factory warranty.
Nissan will not stand by their bumper to bumper warranty. After just purchasing my brand new Nissan Titan XD 5 days later paint was coming off the front bumper. After working with the local dealer McLarty Nissan in Little Rock and Nissan manufacturer they took the word of some service tech that it was damage. But could not give me any facts on how they arrived at this. When I gave them numerous points and showed them how easily paint was coming off. If I could send my truck back today I would. Do not buy this foreign crap as they will take your money. Buy at your own risk and assume it is a Buy as is.
Id rather let my credit go to the toilet and file bankruptcy than to EVER dip business with Nissan again. They let dealerships lie and just say whatever simply to get you into a car, then they offer no resolution about fixing the lie. When you call customer service they treat you like a scolded kid, and offer no respect or empathy whatsoever. Its ridiculous and absurd that we are treated such a way when you spend so money on something that is so vital. The air circulation is a joke. It only reaches the front seats and the people in the back get no air flow whatsoever. This was an issue in the first vehicle, and I was promised the new vehicle was so much better and redesigned, but honestly this car is bigger so its worse. They did not have a manual transmission which I wanted but they tried to convince me that the automatic is again redesigned and so much more efficient and yet not only have I lost about 6mpg, the car is constantly revving over 4rpm even when Im barely on the gas. They will say anything just to get you in the car and all they care about is the initial sale. After that they could care less about you or your business.
I leased a new car from Advantage Nissan, located on Old Country Road in Westbury, NY, which I later found out was in an accident and was repaired poorly. I asked the manager of the dealership to replace the fender which he agreed to do and gave me the number of his collision shop. When I called the shop they were rude and unhelpful. I sent a certified letter to the manager and told him I wanted to have the repair done at my collision shop, however, that was 3 weeks ago and I received no response.
Highly recommend you reconsider ever doing business with this company because they 100% do not care about customer satisfaction, customer loyalty, customer problems with their vehicles... Wont work with you to find a solution when they sell you a faulty product. Do NOT abide by their customer warranties. Its been 9 months of absolute hell with a brand new 2020 Altima. Completely appalled at the atrocities this company allows. Had so many repetitive issues they failed to fix and their only solution was that I trade it in so they could get MORE money from me! Completely disgusted with the dealership, consumer affairs and arbitrations.
A Service Advisor left me in the waiting area 8 hours and still didnt do the work. Within that time frame only the oil and tires were changed. Rushing to get my car to me, a technician or other help misplaced a lug nut, then entered a charge on the invoice as it were missing when I got there. I filed a complaint about my experience to Nissan of North America Consumer Affairs who informed management of the complaint. And management didnt reply. After the unpleasant and unethical experience I had my vehicle service elsewhere.
Ive been a LOYAL customer of Nissan for many many years purchasing over $100,000 worth of vehicles, over a period of time, but NO MORE. We purchased a 2011 Nissan Rogue from a dealership in MD, have taken the vehicle there for all services, except tires of course. Weve kept up the maintenance on the vehicle, as our record clearly shows and now that we have an issue, NISSAN Corporate bailed out on us.. YES, they sure did. I just want all Nissan owners and owners to be, know NISSAN should have a massive RECALL on their transmissions for the Rogue. When we started having an issue with the transmission, we of course took vehicle into dealership, which, they in turn, said transmission has been known to overheat, therefore, they installed an additional cooling device on the transmission. However, after having this installed, which was covered under the warranty, it worked for a little while, and guess what? You guessed it, it is now overheating again and of course out of warranty. Perfect timing Mmmmm?? My husband took vehicle back to the MD dealership, they tested and said the transmission is SHOT and may burn up at anytime. WOW, Big surprise, again. We were then directed to contact Nissan Corporate headquarters. We did, they set up a case, dealership submitted papers to Corporate and guess what? They told us to pound sand. Yep, what a wonderful Business Relations we have here! Ive been dealing with customers most of my adult life and to say the least, you would THINK that a major corporation like Nissan would at least work with their customers, but NO! We offered to pay half of repair cost, still NO! To say the least, Im truly disappointed by Nissans response I received today and would NOT recommend anyone buying one of their vehicles, which I have three of them at the moment, until the Rogue transmission cramps out completely. Sincerely, disappointed customer, but NO MORE! You will NEVER get my business, nor will I recommend NISSAN to anyone ever again.... Have a nice day!
I had bought in May 2014, a brand new 2014 Nissan Sentra and it went bad. It had a major computer problem, factory glue leaking through the headliner, stitching unraveling from the fabric, and black paint coming off the radio console and Nissan bought it back with an intention for me to buy another, called a buy back. And then I bought a brand new 2015 Nissan Altima in Sept 2014 and the transmission went bad at only 5,000 miles, the cotter pin in the axle had to be re-tightened, the radio has static, there is a popping in the Bluetooth, and the speaker lid popped up. There is still static in the radio and there is still popping in the Bluetooth in the Nissan!!!! And Nissan says thats a normal operation. You have to be kidding me!!!I will never buy another Nissan. I dont recommend a Nissan to anyone. It was and is an awful experience. Nissan has stressed me out beyond belief. I had to go back and forth to the Nissan dealerships at least 20 times. Can you imagine two BRAND NEW Nissans going bad within six months? Nissan is not the same brand that it used to be.
My cars battery was still under warranty (which I was not aware) but Nissan roadside assistance sent a technician to me when my car was not starting up properly, who gave untruthful and misleading information that my battery was already passed 3 years. Complained to Nissan, these people in customer service was even more ridiculous, they said they did not change my battery last time, so they were not responsible for warranty claim. They were just a group of liars so please seriously consider whether you wanted to purchase from them.
I dont know why I never learn my lesson always coming back to this dealership. When I would search for car loans for bad credit, they would always come up. Been turned down 4x, the last humiliating incident, finally got approved through the help of a friend whos only supposed to cosign with me but ended up having the loan under his name only, my name - hopeless. So we drove home and just before the 2nd week, they called asking for my friends tax returns. Wrong timing coz this a few days before the long weekend. I was able to submit what they want right after long weekend. Now theyre saying bank got suspicious and asking for cosigner. I said, You guys are the ones who decided the loan be put solely under my friends name, and we kept you posted about the delay on the docs being asked so you can somehow keep your bank posted and now we are faced with this. My salesman said, Bank said no cosigner no deal. I said, Ok heres the key... TAKE IT. So they did even if I already put 3,000 miles in it in only a 3 wk time. What I cant forget is the humiliation of taking my stuff out under the heat of the sun and piling them up on the side of the guest parking while I wait for my friend to pick me up. FIRST TIME that I experienced such humiliation, although Im a BIG FAN of the NISSAN JUKE, and 2nd GENERATION NISSAN JUKE IS COMING OUT NEXT YEAR; NEVER MIND AND NEVER AGAIN. Thanks Nissan LB. My 2005 Murano was serviced by a dealer for a stalling problem. The dealer stated a need of Cam shaft sensor replacement for a fix. Further, they recommended that the CVT be replaced due to an action of recoiling at deceleration which I mentioned the exactly the same dilemma to a Nissan tech adviser who wrote a ticket. A mechanic test drove my car & was able to verify/duplicate the symptom of the recoiling action aforementioned. I told the Nissan dealer to replace the Cam sensor & the transmission fluids knowing that a warranty doesnt cover the expenses involved with the replacement of CVT.Next day, Oct/29/15, I accidentally discovered on internet that Nissan had extended warranty on CVT to 10 yr/120,000 miles. Consequently, I called the customer rep. to confirm an eligibility. The rep. submitted a ticket for a regional specialist to call me next day which they did. The answer was No because I purchased my car on Aug/16/2005 which is merely (2) months outside window of an extended warranty. I greatly disappointed & called a customer Rep. again to re-open the case for the following reasons: I have never received the notification from the Nissan of an extended warranty on CVT.Im the original owner & it has only 78,000 miles on it. Mine failed at such low miles, then whod buy a car from Nissan. Id have taken the car to a dealer to replace the CVT if Id known the extended program. I love my car & the performance except the mishap of CVT. Im awaiting on a reply from a regional manager this time in a few days for a final decision.
2 weeks ago I had a problem with my Nissan Sentra which I bought in 2015 brand new. The problem was about the transmission system. Whenever I drive my car I felt some noise at low speed and increase with speed increase. I reported the case to Nissan service centre in Sultanate of Oman Azaiba branch. After their diagnosis, they confirmed the transmission issue and informed me that they will send the report to insurance company as I had 5 years extended warranty. 2 days later I received a call from Nissan service saying to me that warranty didnt approve the repair and no realistic reason was provided to me. I was very upset how such company is playing with our trust. I now understand the meaning of cheap treatment and products offering.The people from the service centre looks to be trained more for sales than customer support. I am still waiting for Nissan to check what other option is available to fix my issue. But it looks that I will have to pay from my pocket. The next option I have is to file a case against them in court. My company policy is to buy a car every 160k or 4 years. I bought already 2 cars from Nissan and this one will be the last one for sure.
I bought my Nissan Titan in 2017 with 100,000 bumper to warranty. Took it to Universal Nissan for my regular service 35,000 miles, and let them know we have moisture inside the headlight. They said they contact Nissan and the headlight was on order on 1/13/22. Called the Dealer and they said the headlight came in early March. Vehicle check in 3/16/22, called 4hrs later to check on the status, service advisor stated it should be ready in an one hour. In 30 minutes he called back stated that the headlight replacement was denied Nissan. They could not provide any paperwork why it is declined. They gave a case number that did not exist when I called Nissan Consumer Affairs. They finally called back 4/1/2022 stating the dealer denied the coverage not Nissan. The rep from Consumer Affairs stated that they will send a letter stating why it was denied. I bought 3 Nissans, never again.
The Nissan was a smooth ride and engine was quiet but there were other problems that made the car very weak although the price was very good. Had so many problems that I traded in car for another and service was not that great with replacement parts needed often and the same problem kept occurring which made me question whether car make was viable. There were many problems with fuel pump that had to be replaced several times and gas tank was very small so had to fill up frequently and originally car just stalled in the middle of the road when driving due to malfunctioned fuel pump which was very dangerous.
I acquired my 2015 Rouge SL (premium package) this Spring. It has now has 3,000 miles on it and it has been in the Nissan shop for a new computer system and a new transmission thus far. It was in the dealership shop from May 27th -June 18th. I was told my new transmission was on back order until mid July. When I requested that they then needed to take back my new car and exchange it for a new one because they have had it for over 30 days, Nissan mysteriously bumped up my car in line and it was completed on the 18th of June making it only 22 days. I requested that they replace my car as it is obviously compromised and defective. It is not running at 3,000 miles. How am I to expect it to run at 70,000 miles? They said no. I then requested a 150,000 mile bumper to bumper extended warranty to ensure it would continue to run. They again said no but offered a 100,000 mile warranty that only covered the transmission, not the defective computer system, etc.. Again I say how can I count on my car to run at 70,000 or even 50,000 miles when it doesnt run at 3,000? There are multiple things wrong with this car, including the extremely expensive computer system that they are not addressing. The Nissan Corp has been extremely difficult to work with and they refuse to take back their defective product or stand behind the product.
Nissanconnect services is a joke. Its so difficult to understand what level and what options your vehicle has that the dealership doesnt even know. Nissan navigation is nothing short of pathetic. Its a very painful process to navigate to anywhere!! You cant even enter your home address unless its already in whatever ancient database Nissan is using. Nissan should completely abandon this system and work toward making Android Auto/Apple Carplay work wirelessly. For that matter all vehicle manufacturers should do the same.
I contacted Nissan on 12/4/18 and spoke with Stacie from Nissan North America regarding my transmission going out! She asked that I take the car to the dealership and have a diagnostics done and they will review if the car could be considered to be repaired by Nissan. Stacie, called me back within hours after learning my car was there and told me, there was nothing she could do, because the car was over 60K the allotted mileage to be considered an option to cover the transmission per Nissans guidelines.I contacted the dealership and spoke with the service manager and he told me, I missed the cutoff by 125 miles for consideration for Nissan to repair the transmission. Stacie, lied and never mentioned the 120K cut off... She deliberately did not share that information. She did not try to help, she’s a liar and my car is sitting at Nissan and my car isn’t fixed! I am going to make it my business to pass on the deliberate deceit received by Stacie at Nissan North America... Stacie the rude, obnoxious liar can be reached at **.
Salesman Jose said my Nissan Sentra had 100K mile warranty, which included 12 free oil changes and car washes. The heated leather seats are not working properly, they turn on and off by themselves, the a/c has been replaced twice already, the brakes squeal. Several other issues with the brand new car. I will never purchase a Nissan vehicle again. They did not replace the seats as promised, they recanted on giving the 100K mile warranty, the 12 free oil changes and 12 free car washes. The repair center also said the man who sold us the vehicle no longer works for them and its normal for the brakes to squeal on a new vehicle. I told him that was not normal, that was poor manufacturing of products. I purchased a brand new Hyundai Sonata and never had that happen. These are unfair business practices and I feel like I was sold a lemon. I will never do business with them again.

I financed my car December 2015 and on April 1st 2017 my car broke down on my after stopping at a stop sign. It was a Saturday at 5pm so no service centers were opened and my car read a warning Chassis Control Error see owner manual. Well when you looked in the manual all it read was to contact Nissan. Have my car towed to Nissan 24 on Monday morning where I found out there was a recall on the CVT Transmission. I was informed that day that my transmission has given out on me. They told me they dont know what caused it but it COULD have been because I only replaced one tire on my AWD vehicle. Town Fair Tire told me I didnt need to replace all. Should I replace all four tires every time I receive a flat??? Then he said that they received failed codes on the transmission. My issue is why after 16 months of having a vehicle does the transmission go. I did the proper maintenance, so I just called Nissan Consumer to see if Nissan will take the car back. I feel like I was given a dud. I used to drive a 2009 Nissan Cube but after 6 years the transmission went on that too so I feel like these car are being made with poor parts. This will be the last Nissan I purchase.
Nissan Finance has been difficult and cumbersome from the very beginning. Currently, I am dealing with paying off my loan. I paid through their bill matrix system. I never received confirmation of my payment. When I phoned them, they informed me that it will take 60 days for them to process my pick slip. The customer service department did nothing to resolve my concern and seemed rather aloof. Thus, I will not be able to sell my car for another 2 months.
The fan blade assembly on my 2013 Pathfinder started making a terrible noise. I took it to the Nissan dealer and they confirmed I needed a new assembly. They also stated this was a known issue and they were seeing a lot of these. Part was back-ordered. This cost me a total of $800. The day I was picking up my car, another Nissan was in for the same repair! I requested that Nissan Consumer Affairs look into this and consider covering the cost since it was a known issue. The rep, Rod stated that although it was something Nissan was aware of, they would not cover it because my car was out of warranty by 16,000 miles on the extended warranty. How poor to not cover your defective part and a known issue and hide behind the mileage. Do not purchase a Nissan - they dont stand behind their vehicles!
I have a brand new Nissan Rogue. I live in Colorado and sometimes have to park under trees during the day for work. Other than that, the vehicle is kept in a garage and is washed frequently as I use the car to pick up business clients at the airport sometimes and want a good professional impression. Last week during a few days that seemed like spring here, a group of robins in a tree above my car managed to use my car for target practice. When I got in the car at about 6:00 p.m., I noticed the droppings and took it to a professional car wash the next morning at 8:00 a.m. on my way to work; only the droppings didnt wash off. The bird droppings damaged the seal coat and now I have dull smears all over my shiny new car. We hand washed, tried wax, took it to an auto body shop for their advice and then to the Nissan car dealer we bought it from. They said that they had seen this before from bird droppings and the only way to get it right was to repaint. This is a $27K car. Seriously, I cant drive anywhere where birds exist from now on or I need a new paint job? So here is where we are. Even if they do manage to fix the spots that exist on the car now, throughout ownership of this car, I will have to protect it constantly or expect to drastically reduce value every time a bird flies over! This is ridiculous to expect that paint on a vehicle can get totally ruined within 24 hours by bird droppings. Needless to say, this has and will greatly reduce the value of the vehicle. I am going to file an official complaint with Nissan and if they do not give any results, I will pursue this all the way up the ladder. Anyone else having this problem with new Nissan products?
Keep calling the Consumer Affair for 2 weeks, each time they said a specialist will call you. Again they said they called but I was not available. Left a voicemail. If someone calls it will show on my phone. One more time they put me on hold and connected me to the specialist but this time it asked me to leave a phone number, and case number etc. What I am dealing with?
My partner brought a Nissan Navara 2 years ago, brand new, and since then it has spent more time in the garage being fixed than actually being driven. It has only done 40,000 km. It has had the clutch replaced. The alternator has gone 3 times as well as the starter motor of which it has cost us nearly 2 grand each time to fix. My partner used it for semi 4wd/work car for the first 12 months until we continued to have the same issues, then he used it as a work car. Now being a 4x4 car you would think you could drive it out the bush. Well this is not the case. Every time it went out bush it ended up with water in the starter motor and rust. I may also ass that it ended up with dust in the alternator which is meant to be a completely sealed unit. In addition my partner for the past 12 months has only used it as a work car, which he is a bricklayer and it seems to have the same problems. This means that even if he drives on a dirt road then the same issue occurs. We have had our own issues with the dealership where we live, not contacting head office, and making us pay for things we should have. In addition they have also been very uncooperative and unhelpful to deal with. We have contacted head office about these problems and the fact that this car is completely useless unless driven on sealed roads!! Head office was very unhelpful, had terrible customer service and was unwilling to investigation further or help find a solution to the problem! NISSAN state that they like to have customer service and a high level in resolving issues. Well we find this to be very untrue. I might also add that this car is under finance. We are now paying for a car we cant use or rely on!! We have had to go buy a 3rd car just so we have a reliable car for my partner to use for work. We should not have to do this for a brand new car that is meant to be 2 years old. VERY DISAPPOINTED with NISSAN!!! Would not deal or buy a Nissan again!!!!
My 2009 Nissan Versa has been a mechanically sound vehicle so far. My complaint has to do with the door locks. First, it was my hatchback. Couldnt open it from the outside. It is quite a task to have to climb in the back seat, reach over and manually open the rear hatch. I take my car to the dealer and I am told it is the door actuator, in other words, the electronic component that makes the door open. This was by no means an inexpensive repair. $327.00 to be exact - that was January. July comes around and my little Nissan Versa has 73,000 well maintained miles on it. Click, click. Oh NO! Now my passenger door on drivers side will not open, not even from the inside (thats safe). Once again, here I go to the dealer. Yes maam, it is the door actuator again... cheap ** parts. This time it was $522.00. The service rep had called to tell me that the mechanic may have to break the door panel because he couldnt open the door from the inside. I replied, Isnt he a certified Nissan mechanic, and he assured me he was. I told him if he broke it he was going to pay for it. Thats why I took it to the dealer (West Covina) so this wouldnt happen. The mechanic was able to get the door panel off without breaking it. I wonder if Nissan thinks that these problems with door actuators are a safety hazard as well as an expensive burden on its customers. I understand that these components will go out at some point in time but my car is only 5 yrs old. Nissan, you really should take a look at these parts. They are dangerous, cheap, and a financial burden on your customers... If I wasnt through paying for my car, I would trade it in, not for a Nissan.
Bought a new 2005 Nissan Sentra from Nissan in 2005. In 2015, only have 74,000 miles. Catalytic Converter and Engine still under warranty. Catalytic Converter went out and caused damage to the Engine. Let Nissan look at my car one day. Engine light was on. Could not find problem. Took car out and air conditioner not working! Only blew hot air! Had to pay over $500! Left car at Nissan. Kept given different dates to pick up car. Nissan claim they were waiting on parts, and kept my car for 6 weeks! Was given a free rental car under the warranty. Cannot drive rental car for my job! Lost six weeks of wages.
I had to have my 2009 370Z towed to the dealership twice. The dealership did not know the cause and the car just started after some testing. They released the car not knowing if it would do it again. 1-2 weeks later, on a Monday morning, the car did not start after my appointment with a client. The dealership, after weeks of review, could not test out or get the car started. In the meantime, I am working with a gal at consumer affairs. I told her what happened, and a week she called back stating they are not accepting the claim as if it were an owner maintenance issue and 3 months out of warranty. As we found, it was an electrical something in the steering column locking the car down as if it were being stolen. This is certainly not an owner maintenance issue and the car was only at about 32,000 miles. This little bit of time did not affect the outcome and certainly not the mileage. The problem is Nissan did not want to stand behind a known problem in other vehicles with the similar theft deterrent systems, but also because of the cost of replacing the whole steering columns - $1,200 plus. Welcome to my first Nissan experience. I will not buy another.
Purchased new Nissan Juke 2016 with CVT transmission. The transmission was bad from day one and family and passengers would notice, but I loved how the car looks. Come February 2020 and the vehicle literally stopped in the middle of the highway, very dangerous but I turned the engine off, restarted and moved to the shoulder. Took it to a dealership and was quoted $4890 for repairs. The vehicle has been sitting at Sterling McCall Nissan waiting to be repaired. I follow up every day with the service department and they claim Nissan North America has not shipped the part. I drive for Uber and for a month now I havent worked a day losing income, time and causing psychological damage. Given theres a class action on defective CVT transmission in the Nissan Juke, Nissan should do the right thing and foot the bill for my repairs. I believe Nissan sold lemon cars to consumers and are not prepared to fix the mistake.
The finance manager over at Nemet Nissan on Hillside Queens, NY charged us $2,734 on our lease contract, for a 2012 Nissan Rogue, when we were supposed to only pay $1,600. He refused to explain the breakdown of the fees when asked, and kept saying I will get to that in a minute as he made us sign all the paperwork. Then after handing us the lease agreement, he still didnt explain the breakdown, and said thats what the numbers worked out to be, and said the contract was already signed, nothing he can do about it. Worst experience ever, after being with Nissan for almost 4 years. That is a big rip off! Now, Im stuck in a lease, paying $290 a month, when I should be paying less.
My 2007 Altima hybrid died now several times without warning, had to tow it to this dealer because they are the only one who can apparently do the diagnostic. So they charge hundreds of $$ to find out that there is a blown fuse, which they replaced, but it blows again. Solution? Change all four engine coils, because this is what causes it. Why? Do not know, but they can try to find out if I agree to pay $160 an hour to investigate some more. Yes, this happens second time on a VERY low mileage vehicle, and yes it is a common problem with Altima Hybrids, but there is not much they can do. And no, they will not call Nissan on your behalf but I definitely should - they even give me a number. So I pay (again) a $1000 dollars for a trivial and premature repair, which should have never happened, and not knowing what causes it.I called Nissan, and after several days of phone calls and interviews, I was they do not see any problem because the car is not under warranty. Really? Privately, all mechanics know that there is a problem, and clearly there is something wrong with the vehicle. And yet not only Nissan refuses to stand behind their product, but they penalize the customers over and over again by making to pay them excessive and unreasonable cost to diagnose a known problem? I guess no more Nissans in my future and I will have to switch cars asap, because I simply cannot afford such an unreliable and unpredictable vehicle. I was lucky it happened when I was only 5 miles away from a dealership. What if you are on a trip? Stay away from Nissans. Oh, they are very very polite.
TITAN XD – I was very satisfied with my purchase, it was beautiful! Black Platinum Reserve. 5.6 gas v8. Things were fine the first 3 months but then the right around view camera started intermittently work. The A/C would blow cold air for the passenger side, the air conditioned seats did not really cool your tush much. Do your homework, these trucks depreciate astronomically, 53K retail, trade value 29k-36, I had mine 7 months and it had 3k, demo model, I had 8k when I traded. Get out while you can folks. I had a Pathfinder two years ago and it was riddled with issues. At least Nissan is consistent.
Transmission Recall 2009 Nissan Cube. Contacted Nissan Consumer Affairs - 3 times notified them of a phone conv. with one of their representatives in that he was totally RUDE and nasty and I was told well they are overseas somewhere and we dont have control over them! Complaint #**. Carlo told me when asked if he cared about my problem -NO!!! Talked to Lauren that she was going to check on my servicing of the car. She comes back and says since I didnt have all the service done at Nissan I didnt show LOYALTY!! Its a free country last I checked!!! The transmission on the car has been recalled. I just paid $3399.74 because the recall mileage is 120,000. My car was at 126818. Nissan said too bad cant help you!!!
I have had 7 Nissan last 11 years. Good luck but one CVT sold. Last 2 took lost. No CVT again for me. Read lot bad stores. Nissan CVT no good. I got Buick 6 speed reg trans. Love it. Better never buy Nissan if they keep the CVT.
