Had my car a year (Altima 2016 used) and it’s out of warranty. When purchasing the car I asked for an extended warranty and the finance manager declined me stating that I was not in a position to receive the extended warranty that I was lucky that I was even approved for the car. I had to beg for GAP and he made me pay for my GAP cash upfront $500. Also when I called my finance company to see if they had additional options they stated that those instruction about extended warranty was not true that they would have went through another company not them. At that point I did not understand why the finance manager had me lie to the finance company about the type of car I was receiving if I would not be covered. Basically I was taken advantage of and it worked on their end because now I am screwed out of a car unless I come up with the funds to fix the issue. Nissan said it’s nothing they can do, You have to buy a $3500 transmission. I do not know much about repair to cars but my car is calling for a sensor and Im not sure why my sensors cannot be replaced vs the entire transmission!Call Consumer Affairs and they had an attitude. Told me there was nothing they could do and hung up on me. I will be taking this to the next level. My voice will be heard and something will be done. I would have never spent my money with them knowing I would have to deal with such poor service and attitude! Please do not put yourself in my situation stay away from Nissans (CVT) they are NO GOOD! Terrible customer service and they will do NOTHING to help you.
Our experience so far has been unpleasant, unproductive and frustrating. We are especially unhappy by what appears to be less than a professional and courteous behavior, performed by Hernando ** at Royal Palm Nissan. It all started on September 17, 2011. My car was having some weird and loud noises coming from the engine. As a result, I took my car to its original dealer (Royal Palm Nissan). One of the customer service advisors (Not Hernando **) helped schedule an appointment for Monday because they were having more customers than expected, and I said that it was all right. So he created me an appointment for next Monday (09/19/11).I lost a day of work in order to bring my car for inspection. The car was fully inspected and the noise was temporary fixed. They told me that the car did not have any issues. After two days, the same noise came back from the engine. This was a very unpleasing thing to hear again. However, the problem did not end there. This Saturday, 9/24/11, we took the car back for inspection because the problem apparently was not fixed. This time, we were welcomed by Hernando **, not in a professional, social and friendly way. In 12 years of business, I have not seen such an unpleasant and unprofessional customer service. This is what Hernando ** said and I quote, Why dont you take your car and go to another dealer and dont come back and then he literally threw the paper (invoice) at us with an attitude because we simply asked him in a very friendly way to inspect our car. A simple task that was asked to Hernando ** to perform, which is part of his duties and assignments at Royal Palm Nissan. Not only was he disagreeable and unfriendly, but he also put Royal Palm Nissan as an unprincipled and frustrating place for customers.Right now, I am very - and I do mean very - upset at the way this has been handled. I should not have to be going through this. I know that I do have options of shopping elsewhere when purchasing a vehicle in the future, however, it bothers me to see that Nissan is not fulfilling the end of the services that we agreed on when I purchased my vehicle. I love my vehicle, but I can assure you that this has left a very bad taste in my mouth when either I and/or any of our family members get ready to purchase a vehicle in the future. All I ever wanted was for your company to hold its end of the service that we discussed when we purchased my car. Please contact me to discussed this before we proceed with this matter differently. Transmission problems. They know about problems with their vehicles but don’t care. DO NOT make the same mistake I did. I have talked to several people that bought them and mechanics they agree, don’t BUY. I talked to their corporate office and they don’t care and won’t talk about the issue.
I have spoken to my sales agent today and they have agreed to pay half the cost of the muffler. However mechanic did not support exhaust pipe when they said I could take it home, and when I brought it back immediately with the car making the most horrendous noise it could possibly be making, I was informed my catalac converter was now broken, and had to be replaced, however the warranty is going to cover this.
This is a warning to all potential Nissan customers/owners. Nissan had my Son pay $130.00 for a diagnostic check to see if consumer affairs would fix his transmission that gave out exactly one year after purchasing his car from Paul Blanco dealership. Consumer affairs of Nissan denied his request for repairs due to my Son had too many miles on his car 11k to be exact. Instead of telling my Son this in the beginning, they took my Son $130.00 and went their merry way.I dont understand how a company can do so many people wrong. It is evident that there are issues with the transmissions to Nissan but no one is stopping to see why. I am frustrated to no end as a Mother watching her single parent Son pay for a vehicle he cant drive and if he turns the car back in gets a repo on his record. I needed to write this comment on behalf of my Son. We definitely would hate for someone else to have a similar experience. I pray God will vindicate my Son and the rest of the Nissan customers that have been bullied and robbed by Nissan. Thank you!
Nissan quietly extended the warranty for the CVT (transmission) from 5 years/60,000 miles to 10 years/120,000 because of all the problems people are having, everything from shaking to accelerating at stop signs. Its a genuine safety concern. My wifes 2008 Nissan Rogue has the same problem. We took it in for service and they replaced the transmission. However, theyre charging us $2,700 for a new transfer case, a transfer case thats included in the original powertrain warranty that connects to the transmission. The mechanic at Nissan of Bourne in Massachusetts tried to tell me the problem started with the transfer case and not the transmission. I find this hard to believe since Nissan is obviously having issues with the transmission, or else they wouldnt have had to extend the original warranty.There is no reason why Nissan should be charging customers for their own substandard parts. To replace the transmission but not the transfer case which is part of the transmission, is flat-out dishonest. Now well have to spend money we dont have because Nissan wont live up to its own warranty on parts they know are bad. There shouldve been a recall in the first place for safety reasons, but Nissan is trying to mitigate their losses at the expense of their customers. This is not right and it should be addressed.
First time purchase of a loan/lease. Signed a lease with loan prices ($337 month). Total purchase price 2015 Rogue $34,000. Error was noticed by purchaser same day at dealership. When brought to attention of dealer, more or less too bad. All they had to do was tear up the lease form and attach correct monthly price to a lease $134 month. $14,000 to purchase at end of lease or the proper monthly payment, $337 month with the last payment, vehicle is mine... maybe 10 mins of their time on paperwork. Instead of 23 months trying (by me) to get the thing correct. Notified every agency of the error including THE WHITE HOUSE with no luck. Money hungry (Nissan) outfit. Matter went to court March 2017. It is still undecided.
The fuel pump went out on my 2011 Nissan Versa. This is really not supposed to happen to a new car. I was out two tows and a nights stay at a hotel. The folks at the Nissan dealership in Victoria, TX were super great to work with and they assured me I would be reimbursed. Flash forward to a month with no return emails or calls from the regional customer service office. Not as much as a single update. My husband is going to contact them now and if that does the trick, there really are no words. I hope that this stereotype is proven so that I get my money, but I hope for Nissans sake it is not as that is obvious discrimination.
Just bought a 2015 Nissan Rogue SL - Lynnes Nissan. Problem with the transmission getting stuck. Shift gear getting stuck on drive. Can not move in reverse, park or in low gear. Car is a lemon. Want an exchange!
How can the government say rear end crashes will be helped by the very technology that will cause them on the other end? Our 2018 Rogue suddenly started braking, with no reason!! We bought it just a month ago. Was driving 30 mph on a neighborhood road. The car made a loud grinding sound and suddenly stopped dead still. No cars in front or back. No metal plates in the road (I’ve heard things like that, or railroad tracks, even small birds, etc. will trigger the faulty sensor and cause the brakes to engage!). This is a known issue. And is very dangerous and could be deadly. The dealership says they have received no information on this from Nissan, although we have found bulletins issued several times and have printed them out. People will be killed because of this bad technology.
We purchased our family dream car and recently noticed an issue. Online I read the likeliness of the CVT transmission being the issue that many customers are experiencing so we took it to our local dealer expecting the recall. The recall covers several years worth of Nissan car makes and models, but did not include ours. At 88,000 miles we were told the entire transmission needed to be replaced, with a cooler for the transmission too. The grand total quote of nearly $5500. We only owe $4000 on the car. A hard working family of 4 now has a family dream car that they cannot afford to fix. I read online calling consumer affairs would be a joke, it was. I called and waited the 24 hours for Nissan Consumer Affairs to tell me that there was nothing they could do.What this customer heard, my family hears, what everyone I know will hear is that Nissan does not stand by their cars. Nissan does not care about my family. Only 88,000 miles and we have a dead car, along with a sorry theres nothing we can do. Obviously there is a problem with the CVT transmission that needs to extend to the 2011 models too, Nissan. Very disappointed.
I purchased 2019 Nissan Sentra SV, and within 6 months of driving now my car doesnt pick up properly and I can hear machine noise from my car. Its just 1 year old and I am experiencing this issue. MY car heating also does not work fully, it takes at least 20mins. If I have kept my A/C or Heater on, then car does not go beyond 60MPH and I have to give maximum acceleration. Engine is faulty and Nissan Dealer is not ready to fix this.
I purchased a 2009 Nissan Murano in 2012 and now am experiencing a well known issue with the transmission. They extended the warranty to 120k miles but I have not driven the vehicle for the extended warranty period. I contacted the customer service for Nissan and spoke to several people with no resolution. They are not going to honor the warranty nor stand behind their product when they know this is an issue with the Nissan Murano. It has transmission issues and would advise anyone not to purchase this vehicle.
Went to a local Nissan to buy a car. The salesman went out of his way to help me. I told them upfront that I had a bankruptcy on my credit report. Was told no problem. They wanted to put me in a 2016 Sentra. We finally agreed on the price, and I had a co-signer with a very high credit score that was going to sign for me. On the phone was told there would be no problem that payments would be where I wanted them. Left work early again for the second time thinking I was going to walk away with a car. When salesman came out I could tell something was wrong. He told me that they could not get Nissan Financial to move one bit. If that is way the financial dept is going to be they need to remove bankruptcy ok from the Nissan ad. Walked away devastated with the financial dept of Nissan, so now Im taking my business somewhere else. They lost a sale on this one.
I am writing to voice my complaint about my current Nissan experience with my 2011 Nissan Altima that was purchased in December of 2016. The car is currently only 6 years old and I have experienced a total loss to the value of the car. I have recently had all the locks in my car go out... ALL AT ONCE. When contacting Nissan about my options of what to do; I was recommend to replace my key fob battery and if not that do a test to see what the problem is. After having the test done Friday, August 18th, I was told that I needed to replace all four actuators on my Altima. The price range for this is estimated to be around $1350. After talking to family members and family members employed with Nissan we feel that the information given to me is accurate and that there is a bigger issue with the car other than this. We believe replacing these the problem will continue to be there due to there being a wiring or system malfunction with my Altima. I am just really upset and not understanding how a car that is 6 years old already have every actuator go out and all at once. This is a total inconvenience and just see so much to spend on a car that I dont even have paid off yet. This experience has honestly made me not want to buy another Nissan in the future. I never expected to have this happen but I have to say it is a huge disappoint and not convenient when you have a push start car.
I purchased a new Nissan pathfinder in 2005 and I did just had issues with it at 87k miles transmission broke and Nissan didnt want to take responsibilities for the repairs so I had to fix it myself. Exactly one year later the radiator broke and leaked coolant to the transmission and transmission broke again. This time Nissan said OK we are going to give you a free transmission, but we have to install it. I paid Nissan 4k dollars to install the transmission and 6 months later I had problems with the thermostat and I decide to exchange it and I promise to myself that I will never buy a Nissan vehicle in my life again. In the past I had purchased Nissan Sentra, Pathfinder 97, Armada, Nissan pickup hard-body and I just have Toyota and Chevrolet, and I am very happy with my vehicles.
Done in a timely manner. Kept me apprised as the repairs went along. Checked to see if anymore could be done for me. If any issues came to let me know and get my opinion. Check out was easy and car was washed and the inside always had paper on seats and floor so it did not get dirty from the work they did. They smiled and I went on my way.
Purchased a used Nissan GTR from Atlanta, classic cars within two months the radio and transmission failed. Took the car to Nissan to see if they could repair the transmission they said no but went on to say they would replace it at a cost of $18000. Said it wasnt covered under warranty. Had to have the car trucked across town to have it fixed since Nissan didnt know how to repair it. The car was driven into the Nissan repair shop but when they took the transmission oil pan off the car to check it the car was no longer able to be driven and I had to have it trucked to my home and then to the repair shop across town for the repair.The shop across town had the transmission repaired in under a week. The car drove better than when I first purchased it. Cost me over 5000 dollars for the repair for which Nissan didnt pay a dime. Nissan also charged me $1034.00 to check the transmission that they could not repair which rendered the car undrivable. Lesson learned - dont ever buy a Nissan. Never again in my lifetime. Big rip off. Nissan left parts out of the tranny that they knew would cause it to fail and then didnt want to foot the bill to repair it. Nissan sucks.
My wife and I have a 2011 Nissan Altima on lease. Mid-2012 my wife was sexually assaulted IN the car. Think about this. Do you want to drive the car that the love of your life has been raped in? NO! After numerous phone calls to NMAC, we received no assistance. We were even in contact with Nissan North America. They tried to help us out by offering us a car at factory price. The issue was the early termination cost of the car. NMAC refuses to help in any way (they even said as much to the guy at Nissan North America). I understand that NMAC had no legal obligation to assist us in any way, but I feel that they could have done something from a humanitarian standpoint. I never expected them to say, Oh sorry, here is a brand new car for free. What I expected was some relief from the early termination fee. I cannot wait for my lease to end as I will NEVER conduct business with Nissan or their affiliates ever again. I will strongly discourage others from doing so.
I am the unlucky customer of Nissan; my 2013 Nissan Sentra has a transmission problem without any previous symptom. My wife was driving to California when happen and need to bring the car to the dealership located at Tracy CA. The only dealer in town! They took several weeks to have my car ready and as a familiar person to the automotive industry. I know that there are design issues and manufacturing errors. I am an open minded person and understand that errors happen. I patiently wait for the repair of the car and pay for the additional travel to pickup my car. I am located at AZ. After that I let my son attending Tulsa University to take the car with him. He noticed a noise under the car and with the months the noise go worse. I instructed my son to take the car to the dealer at Tulsa; they completed the diagnostic and determine an error made during the replacement of the transmission where a bolt was left loose or too tight ended to stripping or damaging the bolt threads. They also recognized an extended warranty for additional 12K miles and the whole repair will cost nothing to me. Well too good to be true! After two weeks waiting for the parts; the dealer at Tulsa notified me that the dealer at CA didnt accepted the claim! They said that there is nothing they can do and I should contact and deal with the dealer at CA directly. The dealership at Tulsa denied to honor the warranty! Well, I contacted Nissan directly and they reported the receipt of my complaint; within the following two day they completed their investigation. It is an issue that needs to be solved at the dealership and it is nothing that they can do! I got a copy of the procedures created by NISSAN to replace the transmission and the additional procedure to remove the parts where the bolt in question is located. It is more than clear that the last person to touch that bolt was the Nissan technician during the transmission requirement. Well after all the evidence still Nissan denied any support or ruled to make their representatives responsible for their mistakes. I am writing this review to help some other potential customers to became victims of their poor quality of products and services. I asked for a writing report from their investigation and it was denied; they do not want to provide anything in writing. Too much to ask? Nope! It is a normal covering for a crooked organization! Do not repeat my mistake; do not buy any Nissan products! I am not complaining for the poor quality. It is for the silly expectation of Nissan that the dealership are independent of their organization. That I cannot have a service across the whole USA but I need to deal with independent dealers, that they are trying to push me to go to CA and fight with an independent organization whom by the way hold a big SIGN OUTSIDE SAYING AUTHORIZED NISSAN DEALERSHIP with their big logo there! NEVER NISSAN AGAIN!
I’ve been a loyal Nissan customer nearly 20 years and always had my cars serviced at Nissan dealerships. Most recent bad experience with dealership, car was leaking fluid underneath. I was told it needed new rack and pinion so I told them to do the work. I paid $1,300. I always insisted on new genuine Nissan parts. The dealership replaced with used (re-manufactured), non-Nissan parts (but never told me) and it failed less than 2 months later. The dealership admitted they never got my authorization for used parts but wouldnt do more than just replace it again. How can I trust them now? I called Nisan Consumer Affairs for refund and replacement at no cost to me. I was told they couldnt offer me anything but the repair because my car is too old and out of warranty too long. Also, they told me they are under no obligation to use new genuine Nissan parts to even tell me. Seriously? The dealership is guilty of fraud and they cant do anything to make a 20 year customer happy? Unbelievable. Thats what loyalty gets you, crap. Save yourself the aggravation. Dont buy Nissan.
I have owned my 2014 Nissan Rogue brand new. I have had nothing but problems with it. Transmission, breaks, electrical, navigation, tail hitch, seat belt covers, brake booster x3, mounts, struts the list goes on. I tried to claim lemon law several times and get denied. My vehicle has been falling apart since I got it and get zero support from Nissan! It is back in the shop for a failed brake booster and now they want me to pay for it! Dont buy a Nissan ROGUE ever!!!
2014 Altima SL V6 - New transmission at 11k still has issues. They will tell you they dont have a problem with transmissions but mine shutters at 20-30 and 57-70, very disappointed in Nissan! Offered to let CEO wife drive it for a week or even a engineer or their vendor who makes transmission! 22k and its a lemon! Also own a 2015 Pathfinder! 1k miles transmission shudders. Now 8k miles and will be trading it in on another brand. 2012 Nissan Altima, purchased new, runs like a new one! 100k miles. 1999 Nissan Altima 96k miles runs great! So if you can see, they have a transmission problem and are only replacing if it sets off a code! So the shudder is a normal feature they should advertise in their commercials. Stay away from brand until they get issues fixed! Im done with Nissan.
Two weeks prior to my lease maturity date, I called Nissan to set up my end-of-lease inspection. After 4 phone calls, I was told they use a third party to inspect the vehicles (easy way to avoid blame). Upon calling the third party to set up the inspection, I was told they could not have a representative in my area (suburban Phoenix) for 17 days, which was 3 days after my lease was up. I continued to call Nissan and was assured I would suffer no penalty payments and there was a 10-day grace period. I turned in my car the day my inspection was completed and it was in great shape aside from one dent the size of a nickel.10 weeks later, I received a bill in the mail for $1,200. $400 in damage from a dent in the front, which I agreed to pay, and also the $395 disposition fee, which I agreed to pay. However, I was also charged $398 for an additional months lease payment and $20 in penalty fees. When I called the Nissan Finance representative, they told me the dealership did not report my car being turned in for another 21 days after I had dropped it off. I strongly suggest not doing any business with this company or any of their affiliates, unless you enjoy scams and lies.
In Feb 2013, I leased a brand new Nissan Pathfinder. I had an 2010 Altima prior but with my family size increasing, I decided to upgrade to something larger. The worst purchase of my life. On the SAME DAY I brought the vehicle home, it would not go into PARK. I had to return it to the dealer. After picking it up that evening on the drive home it started shaking violently to the point that my toddler was terrified in his car seat. I drove right back to the dealer who kept the car for 7 days and then called and said it was ALMOST repaired. But it is safe to drive and as soon as Nissan has the recall part ready I can bring it in and they would have it repaired. I contacted Nissan Consumer Affairs after numerous fights with the dealer who washed their hands of the issue because they already had my money. Well the only thing worse than a Nissan vehicle is the people that work at their corporate offices. They were of no help and said they were not going to buy back the vehicle as I would have to wait for it to be fixed. I picked up the truck and the VERY NEXT DAY, it completely stalled in a parking lot. It had to be towed into the dealer. 48 hours later I was told that it would be there for another 7 days or so because it needed a NEW TRANSMISSION!!! Please keep in mind all this in only 15 days and I havent even put 50 miles on the car! Well after numerous talks with Nissan and the dealer I got screw over because I am to this day stuck with a vehicle that still never works right. The parking sensor light comes on when its 37 degrees, the heated seats malfunction, the car is always jittery and the tires were terrible! Had to be replaced after 20K miles!To add insult to the injury the Nissan dealer did not submit my payment that was made to them to their finance company in a timely manner and they reported that late payment on my credit report! Even though I have recurring payments set up with them. And it gets worse. I just relocated to PA from NY and they increased my payment by 60 dollars stating that the taxes are different! All with no explanation! Their customer reps are downright rude and nasty! This is the WORST COMPANY ever! I tell everyone I know how horrific they are and how horrible their vehicles are! I have met many people who have had the same issues with this type of car and who feel so ripped off and violated by this company.
I paid off my Nissan Altima 5 weeks ago. I sent the pay off via cashier check from my credit union. I received a letter in the mail confirming the pay off. I did not receive the title. I called them up today. I was told that they sent the title to my credit union instead of me. Wow, what a big mistake. So, help me with this. All cashier checks are from banks. So, do you send all your titles out to the bank listed on the cashier check? I think not. I mailed by certified mail the check to Nissan and they dropped the ball and sent it to my credit union. Now I have to wait longer to get my title. Thanks, Nissan!
2012 Nissan Versa with just over 81,000 miles. Took it to a local shop and they said the transmission is toast. Local dealer charged 0 dollars to analyze and realize the transmission is no good. Since the repair of $4.0K will cost more than the value of the car, Im going to junk it and try to get as much money back on the $16K that I paid. I cant believe that a car that is not even 5 years old has a transmission failure! Now that I have done some online research, I am seeing that this is a rather common event for the 2012 Nissan Versa. So why is Nissan not stepping up to the plate and doing something about this? I will never buy a Nissan again and will tell everyone I know about this issue and how Nissan DID NOT back their product.
I had an accident on 2/13/12 and took my 2012 Nissan Frontier SL Crew Cab 4X4 to the body shop and it has been stuck there for about 4 weeks trying to get parts to repair it from Nissan. I called Consumer Affairs and it was referred to Regional Consumer Affairs, but nothing has been done to resolve my problem. I cant reach anyone by phone that can help me and I really need to get my truck repaired and out of the body shop. Can someone please help me? My body shop is unable to obtain Nissan parts for repair.
I filed complaints with Bakersfield Nissan, Dept. of Consumer Affairs and Better Business to no avail. Then I filed the complaint with Nissan. Last February I purchased a 2006 (used) Nissan Murano which had 33,660 on the odometer. I had a hard time getting credit due to a 3-year divorce action, which messed up my credit. Bakersfield Nissan ended up making paper work for three different credit agencies. With this voluminous amount of paper work, I didnt read everything.When I purchased the car, I was not informed there wasnt any warranty on it. I should have been told this and offered an extended warranty. The sales manager tried to tell me it was my responsibility and I told him (cant say it) in no kind words. I worked as Office Manager-Accountant for 4 dealerships back in Rhode Island, one being an AMC-Datsun-Peugeot dealership in Provided operated by the Gabrolowitze brothers back in the late 60s.While going over the car with the salesman I pointed out several items that had to be fixed, including a dent below rear tail light, missing tire caps, dent on rear aluminum panel below trunk, loose visor (drivers side), etc. I told him Id wait; bring it in after a few weeks in case of something else was wrong. When I returned, the salesman wasnt there, so I brought it to repair shop. They gave me a bill for $2,000.00 and I left in a huff. Before a couple weeks I noticed oil leaked on my driveway and thought it was the transmission. I was informed by the service manager that the power steering ($800.00) was leaking and needed to be replaced. The visor cost was $400.00. They were only going to repair the damage at the paint shop. After much complaining, they fixed the visor but that was it. You should have copy of my December 7th letter complaining about all this.I ended up paying $400.00 for something else as the power steering element was okay. Then the alternator went and I had that repaired for another $410.00. I can see that nothing was done to prep this car for sale. I brought it to EZ Lube for an oil change ($40.00); American Tire (4 Michelin tires) at $813.00. I know this would be my obligation, but mileage was only 54,284. To ensure tires would last, I had front end alignment at Pep Boys ($75.00).I told people at Nissan I would never set foot in their establishment again and have not been a good ambassador for Nissan. They kept sending me service reminders. So Id call and told them to remove my name from their customers. I am almost 80 and have had many cars in my life but not a Nissan. In the late 60s I purchased a Datsun, 210Z for my daughter. Most of the vehicles I purchased were Fords. Also, Chevys, VWs and Toyotas.Going back to the contract, when I wasnt offered an extended warranty they charged me $695.00 for GAP insurance which I didnt want. This money could have been used for a warranty. I cancelled it before the 90 days and received a refund. Also, after all the complaints I filed, the sales manager offered me an extended warranty $100.00 over his cost to which I declined and told him it was too late and should have occurred in February when I could have had it included on my contract. I found the salesmans card: Alex **, a Filipino friend of a friend of mine.
Have not had to use it on this Nissan yet, but have used it on an older Nissan and it cover an expense of $1000. We took the warranty on this vehicle because we believe it will come in handy. We have 7 years or 120k miles.
In the past, I have owned two Nissan cars, a 1992 Sentra and a 2004 Murano, both paid in full. Well, in 2012, the transfer case/transmission went out on my Murano and the cost to get it repaired was going to be over $3,500 plus labor. Because of lack of income and I just started to work as a caretaker, I could not afford to get it repaired at that time (I loved my Murano). I had to check online and found there are so many people that had problems with the transfer case on their Murano (I do not know why Nissan has never done a recall). Since October 2012, I have been renting a car at Enterprise, which I was paying over $1,081.00 a month. So if you do the math, I have been giving Enterprise, over $8,600 for the last 8 months. So, I had been praying about what to do and since I was paying this money every month, I thought I would try to go to Nissan dealership in Victorville, California to see if they would help me get a used car. I was looking around and a salesperson asked me if I needed any help, I told him that I was looking for a used car. I explained to him my financial situation and what was going on with credit. He went and got another salesperson; they went and got a sales manager and they did the numbers. I told them that I could afford to pay $400.00 a month. Next thing I was told go and test drive a 2013 Nissan Sentra. I told them that I did not want to have very high payments. Well, I was told that my payments would be around $400 plus a month. When we got back from test driving, the salesperson told me the black Sentra which was on the show floor would be the car that I would drive off with. I told them that my credit was not good, but they told me that I did not have to worry about anything. So, on May 10, 2013, I drove off in a brand new car from Valley Hi Nissan in Victorville. Well, to my nightmare; on June 14, 2013 I received a call from Mr. George ** one of the finance managers. Nissan had denied my loan because I could not show even funds in my bank account. I told him that if Nissan would have looked at my statements carefully, they would have seen that all my funds were going to Enterprise every week to cover for the car I was renting from them. I told them that if they did the numbers, they would see how much I was spending every week. Mr. ** told me that Nissan did not care about me renting a car; they wanted to see the funds in the account. I told him, How can I keep the funds in the account, if I am renting every week? He told me to bring the car back to the dealership in Victorville. I am very upset with this whole situation because Nissan never gave me an opportunity to even make one payment. I understand that I have had some credit issues, which is not Nissan and the banks problem, but how many people in America are having problems with their credit? I am very upset with the people at the dealership, because now they are saying, Well, we did all we could do. You know, if we mess up how credit scores, the bank and finance companies will hold our past over our heads until we die, and sometimes they hold the past still against who have died. All I wanted them to do is to at least give me a chance to make the payments. So now, here I am back to renting a car so I can get to work, and the dealership has their car which now is a used car. So who wins? I just thank GOD that he does hold our past against us for life.
I purchase a 2015 last yr 2014. March of 2015 I was driving on the highway going about 60/70 when my car dropped on its own all the way down to 10/15. Me and my kids were in the car. Took it to Sheridan Nissan where I bought the car from, they couldnt find anything. Well it happen again, this time my husband recorded on his phone showed the service department. They replace the transmission. Now 10/2015 the transmission seal broke.
My husband and I purchased a brand new 2014 Murano... a car we loved! It drives beautifully. Sadly, weve run into two separate issues multiple times. First, the drivers side visor breaks constantly!!!! We dont use it often but have replaced it several times. At first they were covered by our warranty, but now they want $185 for a new one. What???? And you cant find a used drivers side visor for anything. Not a single one at a junk yard (although the passenger side visors ARE available.)Then, our ac went out three times while under warranty (we live in AZ so no ac is brutal)! We had the compressor replaced three times. The third time we had a service agent say he would try to get us a brand new one (compressor). What the heck were they putting in before???? Also, my friend got a Murano. She had the exact same problem multiple times! A $40k car should NOT have these defects. (AND, while our Murano was in to have the compressor replaced, there were two times the dealership kept our car for multiple days without updating us on the status of the repairs.)Thank goodness we were still under warranty. Now our warranty has expired and Im afraid well run into the compressor issue again. I will be furious if that happens! We cant afford such expensive repairs, especially since the car has only had about 10-12k miles a year put on it. Well below average. As much as I love the look and feel of Nissan vehicles, we wont be buying another one. I have a Chevy that hasnt had any problems at all and its a 2015. Even our 2005 Dodge Ram has been amazing. Very few service needs other than the basics such as oil and filter maintenance, tire rotation, etc. I can count on one hand the number of times Ive written a negative review, but this situation warrants it.
Purchased a new Nissan. Been making payments online and on time for over a year. Nissan changed their website without notice. Stopped sending notifications to customers of billing due. Tried to collect two months when only one was due. Charged a late fee. Does not supply an email address, nor do they answer their phone, just IVR. Extremely poor customer service and planning. This was the first and last time Ill finance through them.
I was in an accident at the approx speed of 40mph, impact was drivers front and rear. The air bags did not deploy and the seat belt did not catch, allowing me to hit the steering wheel with my right shoulder and throwing my glasses to the floor.Please explain to me why there was no deployment of any air bags and why my seat belt did not lock especially at that speed, I think because that was the biggest selling point, the safety. How can I have confidence in the safety and what the company states and the actual result?
My car was bought brand new 2013 Nissan Sentra. The car has less than 68000 miles on it and the transmission has gone out. Nissan Corporation has been a complete nightmare to deal with. They will not stand by their cars even when there is a lot of complaints about this type transmission. I have filed a complaints. They are the worse company I have ever experienced.
****AVOID NISSAN.**** AVOID NISSAN.**** I hate writing about this, but I told them I would so I will. I bought a Nissan Versa about 5 years ago. I wish I had used Google and listened to my wife. If Id simply done a search I wouldve discovered a design flaw in the transmission from that period of vehicles. I thought, Hey, an import. Good on gas and reliable, right? ... Not this one.What I needed was a vehicle that will be good on gas, relatively comfortable and reliable. The car I had previously was a Toyota Echo. I drove it for 350,000 miles and sold it for $300. I never had any engine or transmission trouble at all. Being a design flaw problem, I asked Nissan for help twice. I got nothing. They said no for any help. I wouldve even gone for a 50/50 on their $3800 transmission. $1900 each? Cmon you multi-billion dollar automotive manufacturer!! The car has 164,000 miles on it and is now, an expensive paperweight.Knowing that I put about 2500 miles/month on my vehicles, you know that it is a good testing ground. No abuse, just many highway miles. It is in my professional opinion that Nissan ... sucks. I encourage everyone to avoid Nissan, not because I think all of their vehicles are crap, I dont, but because they DO NOT stand behind a product they KNOW is flawed from the beginning. Im off to listen to Deftones and look for another car now. (whispers) ... Nissan sucks.
Nissan has produced a product with an obvious defect and has not warned their customers that if not repaired, then it can cause major problems with the transmission. I have had to pay over $5000 in repairs and rental cars for one month. There is a backorder on parts to replace the overwhelming amount of transmission repairs.
Went to the local dealership twice for assistance in obtaining a nav update for my 2013 Pathfinder. Got bounced between the Head of Service and Parts multiple times and was finally told I guess you have to go online. Well after searching for about two hours I came across a Nissan page with a map update promising to be the latest and guaranteed to work on my vehicle. I placed that order. This was on a Friday morning. As I checked out and finalized the order I was redirected to none other than the main site for Nissan Nav updates that I had been searching for on the web for hours. Unfortunately, running my nav and vin showed that the order just placed was a three year old update. Finally found the correct update, ordered it and placed a call to customer service to cancel the first order. Sat on hold for an hour and got cut off. So I sent an email to customer service explaining the problem. No luck speaking to anyone Saturday when they stated they were open just another hour on hold, Monday evening sat on hold for an hour till someone picked up. Was helpful and said hed put me on hold for a few minutes and text instructions to return the first order on their dime when it arrived, and oh, by the way he said that one would NOT work in my vehicle. After about 3 minutes I got a fast busy, then a long squeal and then sat on hold in silence for another 45 minutes till I gave up. Now another email to customer service - their response was when it arrives call customer service - thanks but no thanks - Ive filed a complaint with Paypal which I used to pay the first order. Will try again tomorrow. I know for a FACT Toyota, Chevy, Ford, even Hyundai and Kia have customer service that is FAR superior to Nissan, this was the last thing I expected, God help me if I ever have a real problem. This will be my last Nissan. It is back to Toyota, Chevy or Ford for this man, Ive had them all, plus Hyundai and Kia all have better service and run just as good and have just as few, likely less problems and the body integrity on all of them is much better.
I know that this probably isnt relevant anymore, but I just wanted to provide my experience(s) with Nissan vehicles. When I got out of the Navy in 1979 and landed my first job. I bought my first new vehicle which was a Datsun King Cab (Nissan was the parent company of Datsun back then). This truck was wonderful, and everything you could hope for with reliability, great gas mileage, comfort and durability! So, in 1985 when it came time to replace this truck (Datsun had already changed their name to Nissan by then) I thought well heck, I had such great luck with my Datsun so there was no need to even shop around. That was a big mistake! I was young and impulsive then. Keep in mind that this is about vehicle that I bought brand new back in 1985. So, I plunked down my 18K for a new 2 wheel drive Nissan King Cab. The only option it had was air conditioning and thats it! It had no power steering and was difficult to drive at low speeds like in a parking lot. There was some black overspray under the hood that I cant imagine was supposed to be there since it looked like it didnt serve a purpose. The next things will astound you! When you drove the vehicle on the freeway at anything over 55 mph, you could not roll the windows completely up! Thats right, there was a vacuum created where the side windows actually pulled in and away from the window tracks just enough to not allow for the them to not close all the way. This was solved by reducing your speed below 55 mph. (I had good old fashioned hand cranks). Oh, it gets better. Since the front brake pads were metallic, the brakes had this loud metal on metal grinding sound that you could hear all the way down the block every time you approached a stop sign or light. People would actually look at you and stare! I went to the dealer about this and they said that since the pads were metallic that was normal and they just needed to break in. That sound never went away the whole year I owned the truck. Ok, next, The truck had several bolts missing here and there so I think it was a quality control issue at the factory. That didnt cause me any concern except that I thought what else was missing in areas that I couldnt see? Ok next, The air conditioner and heater worked very well (for 18K, in 1985 dollars it better have) except when it rained outside. The defroster simply could not keep up with any and all the condensation on the inner windshield. Even if you had the fan at full speed for long periods of time and tried different settings, nada. You had this foggy haze that would not go away on the inside of the windshield. I actually had to keep a squeegee on my dashboard and every so often reach for it and squeegee my interior windshield while driving. Nissan could at least provided me with a squeegee, enough said. Did I mention I paid 18 thousand dollars back in 1985 for this brand new truck? The plastic grille was held on with some cheap plastic fasteners that after a few months gave out so the grille would always vibrate loose. I think that was about it. I sold that truck private party for a loss for payoff. I dont know if Nissans quality control, engineering, and manufacturing had improved since then, but I vowed that I would NEVER NEVER NEVER buy another Nissan EVER again! This will crack you up. A year later, Nissan sends me this survey to complete and return. After I ripped them a new one, I never heard back from them ever again! Did I mention that I paid $18,000 in 1985 dollars for this truck? LOL. Their advertising campaign back then was Nissan, we are driven. What they didnt tell you was that they were driven to sell you an inferior overpriced vehicle. On a positive note, I think that all the Nissan engineers have long since retired and are laughing all the way to the bank unless of course, they purchased a Nissan.
I am a 2008 Nissan Titan owner, who is seeking other Nissan owners in the WNC area, whom all of a sudden, after a rain, have their paint delaminating causing a white plaque spreading all over. I took my Titan to 3 different body shops I trust, and they each stated the clear coat was delaminating. It was clearly a manufacturer defect. I contacted not one, but two, local Nissan dealerships and have had their GM, service manager, and Nissan specialists (you name it) look at it and take pictures. I have bent over backwards doing everything that Nissan Corporation has asked while I lose multiple hours at work, including having it looked at by their preferred body shop who even said it is a manufacture defect. Now, after putting over 400 miles on a vehicle I baby and do not drive but for pleasure, they are trying to tell me that since it is out of warranty (though the miles are very low, as again I do not drive it on a normal basis) they dont have to do anything towards my Titan. There are numerous claims by others of the exact same issue happening with them (including a lady at the same dealership the same day as I, complaining about the same thing with her Nissan). Although Nissan Corporation states that they have never heard of this problem before (a simple search shows customers back to 2004 with the same problems), I truly believe a class action lawsuit should be started. Please post your experience and if you live near my area.
I am trying to obtain the necessary form to transfer my lease. My original request was placed on July 19. I was told the form would be faxed and/or mailed to me. Several phone calls inquiring about the whereabouts of the document have produced only excuses and no results. My last three vehicles have been Nissan products but I can assure you, based on this experience, it will be my last. May I have the courtesy of a solution to this problem.
Have been ripped off and treated so poorly! I paid for a brand new Nissan Ultima. Before it had 30,000 miles on it the thing over heated three times shutting down on the side of the road! A fire started under the hood. They would not even come and get me or tow the car! I had to pay for it even though I got roadside service! When I called for help they said I wasnt eligible then the next day they said they wouldnt refund the tow! Then the heater broke! They said they found the problem and fixed it but when it broke again in two weeks they refused to even look at it saying nothing was wrong with it to begin with and they couldnt spend money to keep trying to fix it. They never fixed it. They kept saying it was fine. LOL so patronizing and unhelpful. I wear coats in the car now. I applied to Nissan corp for help. They stalled me two months then said no. Dealer only said the repeated overheating and fire was a bad alternator that we should have caught but they wouldnt replace the car or engine. On a NEW car??? Other shops now tell me the heater malfunction is due to the critical overheating and that many other systems will be significantly damaged. I asked what are the specs on the heater: they said, Ohh we dont have any. Lemon laws are useless if they can get the thing to drive off the lot. Shame on them. I was ripped off. Karma will get you boys.
I purchased a 2007 Altima almost 8 years ago from the dealer in our town. Loved the car, and continue to drive it. Our daughter was driving it less than a month ago, and it stalled and quit on her. She called for a tow, and had it towed to a shop who services all of our cars, and have done so for 4-5 years. They called and said it was the transmission. Not aware of the extended 10 year and 120K miles CVT, I told the shop to replace the transmission, for a cost of $3800.00. Received the car a week later. I called Nissan consumer affairs, and ** told me at the time, nothing could be done, as the 5 year and 48 K mile warranty was up. As I was filing the receipts, I noticed a letter from Nissan, addressed to me at a former location, about five years ago, explaining about the CVT extension on the warranty. The clincher was it had to be an authorized Nissan Repair shop. I called Nissan consumer affairs again, and brought up about the letter. Still no results. I spoke with his supervisor, and he also disallowed it. I spoke with the shop, as they bought the engine from the dealer in town. I spoke with the dealership, and the service manager, who would try to intervene on my behalf.I just found out late yesterday, the service manager was not able to negotiate on my behalf. I will not stop, and continue to talk to more supervisors within Nissan. To take no just because the dealership did not replace the transmission is not satisfactory. They should at least pay for the transmission, or give me credit through the dealership, since the transmission was bought from them.
I have a concern about my 2009 Nissan Maxima. I got stranded today because the steering wheel wouldnt unlock so that prevented my car not to start using the push button starter. I did some research and found out that Nissan is aware of this problem but doesnt have it as a recall. Now its going to cost me like 1,000 to repair and my car isnt even paid off yet. There goes my Christmas shopping money for my kids.
I purchased a 2013 Nissan Rogue. Brand new. Have no problems until this week. The car wouldnt crank. Replaced battery works fine. Now the radio wont work. Speakers just went out. All the sudden a burst of smoke came from the vents that smelled like burning wiring. Called Nissan my warranty is out. Seen on edmunds.com that a recall is in place as of Jan 28th 2015 but hasnt been mentioned yet. The wiring harness is shorting out and can cause the car to catch fire. And nothing can be done unless I pocket out the 2,000 + grand to get it fixed. You pay 25,000 for a brand new safe car to drive your children around in and this is the repayment. I will never do business with Nissan again.
The Rogue although slightly underpowered is a delight to drive. It feels so much larger than its compact size. AWD helps in winter driving plus a vast array of safety features add to driver safety. The best recommendation, its comfortable to drive. So much that I prefer it to our second vehicle a sport sedan costing considerably more.
My daughter purchased a 2013 NISSAN SENTRA in November of 2013. In May of 2014, out of nowhere, the car transmission started slipping after 10,000 miles. She immediately took it to her dealership and they proceeded to diagnose the problem. I was advised that there have been some problems with the CVT transmissions, but they were working on them. Once sending proper testing documents to Nissan, the dealership replaced the transmission. It is a major concern of ours that the same year transmission was put back in the car, after being advised that once the transmission is replaced there were very few problems with them.I thought that since Nissan was confident in their product, that there wouldnt be any reservation in extending the new transmission warranty. Not so. Unfortunately, she will be losing 10,000 miles on the transmission warranty as it will run at the same time as the whole power train warranty, 60,000 miles or six years. Maybe they arent so confident in their product after all, nor am I!!!! Will not be recommending Nissan to future buyers.

Ownership of a Nissan is synonymous with dissatisfaction. On March 25, 2019, I purchased a new Nissan Frontier from Jenkins Nissan, Leesburg, FL. After 30 months of ownership and only 14,058 miles, it had an obvious manufacturing defect. Namely, the paint started peeling off at nearly every weld spots on the fenders and the bed rail of the vehicle. They did determine that this is a “warranty issue.” On August 11, 2021, Jenkins Nissan Leesburg, Florida service personnel told me the peeling was indeed caused by the weld spots, but they did nothing except tell me to take the Nissan Frontier to Reed Nissan Clermont, Florida because they (Jenkins Nissan) didnt have a body shop. I contacted Nissan Customer Services on August 15, 2021 to determine where I should take the vehicle to fix the manufacturing defect.On August 24, 2021, I was finally contacted by *** from Nissan Customer Services and she told me to take it to any Nissan Dealer to file the report to the Warranty Department for this region. On August 31, 2021, I had an appointment with Reed Nissan Clermont, Florida. Reed Nissan Clermont sent me to Reed Nissan Orlando because they didnt have a body shop either. On September 7, 2021, I had an appointment with Reed Nissan Orlando, Florida. They inspected my car, took pictures and told me that they were filing a report and that I would hear something that day, fact is their words were, you should hear something within an hour. That hear something within an hour comment has now turned into several weeks.Finally on their advice on October 7, 2021, I took my Nissan Frontier to Reed Nissan Orlando to get it repaired. Only, that didn’t happen because Reed Nissan failed to file the claim. After much pressure from me, Reed Nissan filed the report. Finally, on October 29, 2021 the Nissan Frontier was repaired. It took 79 (seventy nine) days from the time of my complaint to get the vehicle fixed., I believe the Nissan Frontier is a very competitive vehicle but the three Nissan dealer’s LACK knowledge of filing a warranty issue claim is unacceptable. Had this been an engine failure or a transmission failure, I would have been without the vehicle for 79 days or 11 days shy of three months.
I will never again own a Nissan, especially if they continue putting CVT transmissions in them. I wont recommend a Nissan to anyone as well. If you are lucky, transmission may get you 100,000 miles. My first one went out at 89,000 and now, my second one is out. My first one was covered under the warranty, but the second was only good for 30 days on labor and 12 months for parts at a Nissan dealership. Both not even getting 100,000. I have also spent money on quite a few other repairs along the way. I take care of my vehicles and service them properly. Stay away from Nissan and CVT transmissions. If I could give zero stars, I would.
I purchased my Altima in 2011 from Newburgh Nissan, Harte Auto Group. Boy was I ripped off! I felt that I was bait & switched when it came to the deal and paperwork. Clearly, after I realized that I paid WAY too much for this vehicle, nobody wanted to hear about it. Not the dealership and not Nissan Motor Acceptance Corp. My payment is way too high for what I can afford since DAY 1. NMAC will NOT work with me regarding possibly modifying the terms of my loan. They dont care. Representatives there are very nasty. No notes was ever noted when I call. I seem to explain my story over and over again. Now nearly sinking clearly into a state of bankruptcy - JUST FOR THIS LOAN/CAR - Im sick to my stomach. In this day and age, you would think auto creditors would WANT to work with you - have a little bit of understanding and compassion to try and make it work. Nissan does NOT. I will NEVER recommend or purchase another Nissan product as long as I breathe and walk this earth. Ive made mistakes in my life - but this one was by far, the worst Ive ever done. Once again, not the dealer or NMAC will even try to listen to me or work with me to make my situation a little easier. DONT BUY A NISSAN!!!
Nissan extended warranty on 2009 Rogue for 10 years. I replaced CVT in December of 2015 at AAMCO after being informed by a Nissan dealer that I did not have any warranty remaining. I recently discovered that in fact I do have a warranty on CVT as it was extended. I filed claim with Nissan for reimbursement which they have denied. The Nissan service manager discussed this claim with Nissan and their opinion was I should be reimbursed.
I like the computer system that lets you know when it is service time. I also like the alert system, the stereo system, back up camera, systems for telephones, the windshield service, the mobility of the seats, steering volume to be adjusted when needed, the way the seat adjust to help with visibility, the built in coasters for handling drinks, and all the compartments that hold important papers. I also like the way my plan is set up, the mileage that I get, the attitudes for the workers that is provided when servicing the car and the service that they supply. However, I dislike the way the system is set up for more payment when something breaks on the car, having to put more warranty on the car and the warranty that comes with the brand new cars, and the price of the tires. But still, I love the car.
Nissan has the worst customer service. I have been a valuable customer since 2011 and have never missed one payment. I was informed that the company did not receive one of my payments and instead of notifying me, they sent me to creditors. I am convinced someone from the company took that payment and pocketed it. Because of their carelessness, I have been put as delinquent after only missing one payment; and instead of helping to resolve the issue, they said theres nothing they can do! Horrible customer service and bad manager! Nissan needs better employees who know how to interact well with customers, try to find solutions and dont catch attitudes with customers who spend their money in this company. I will never recommend anyone to ever purchase a vehicle with Nissan!
Cliff notes: No email available to communicate with the corporate office concerning warranty work. You have to use a call center that is slow, cumbersome, and not proactive. Wish we would have stuck with purchasing tried and true Chevy C2500, Ford F250, or RAM 2500 diesels. We purchased a 2018 Titan XD Pro4X (Diesel) truck for our small construction company. The specs matched our needs though the reviews were not as strong as we would have liked the price was appealing and the reviews were not terrible. The size was more comfortable than the C2500 and F250 we have in service.At 30K miles we received both ABS and 4WD warnings after traveling 300+ miles that day. The engine was fine just no 4wd or cruise control. The dealership advised we were fine to continue our trip and to come in when back in town or we could go to another dealership near us if time allowed. Over night the error reset. The dealer said to bring it in when back in town the computer would let them know what need to be repaired on the drive train.On our return trip the error happened again at around 350 miles and again over night it reset and was fine. The trip to the dealership was inconclusive and I was advise to drive around until the error happened again even though that might be over 300+ miles as 5 things might be causing the problem and they could not test each of those components to rule them out. That effort was too intense for them. Thus the call to corporate to report the dealer would not take action on what my local mechanic found on his diagnosis machine. What a run around. The non dealer shop received the P1819 Shift ACT CIR Malfunction detected in the transfer motor circuit error and advised that should be too touch for a certified mechanic to figure out.Finally I have convince the dealership they needed to do more for me and they are taking the truck back in and are prepared to trace back the error and replace the transfer case in the event it is the culprit. This was after I paid our local mechanic to diagnosis the problem and the local service manager had twice refused to perform further repairs until the truck failed again. The only response I can get from Corporate Nissan is to call them. When calling I am referred back to the dealer and am told they have no access to the dealerships efforts though we have Nissan Connect which reads what maintenance and system status in on the truck. Shame on us for choosing Nissan.
Out and about with my wife. Parked our Nissan Altima and returned one hour later. Car wouldnt start. Key symbol appeared on the dash. Walked home and retrieved other key fob. Still wouldnt start. Googled the issue and found out that hundreds of other Nissan Altima owners had same issue. Called Nissan, they took my info and got back to me the next day with a sorry, warranty has expired, we cant help you so $970.02 out of pocket. Im pissed! With the amount of occurrences, this issue should have been a recall at the expense of Nissan. I wont be buying another Nissan. How does one go about starting a class action suit?
I have a Quest with 70,000 miles and a bad AC compressor. This is a $1000 repair through Nissan, and far too soon in the life of this vehicle. I contacted the Nissans customer support line. After holding for about an hour and a half, I did finally get a chance to talk to someone. He couldnt commit to any financial assistance Nissan doing anything until I had Nissan look at it, even though the local garage had already assessed it for free. I understand why that is necessary. You cant just start throwing money at a problem, and not all garages are well qualified to work on modern vehicles. I said that was fine, but wanted to make sure that Nissan might be able to help me out before I went to the trouble. He said that IS something that Nissan does, but couldnt make any guarantees because they look at each case individually. He also said that they do good will warranties all the time past the standard warranty of the vehicle.I begged for some sort of criteria they looked for because in order for Nissan to look at my Quest, it was going to cost me $120 and half a day to diagnose the problem by the time I drove for an hour and a half to the nearest Nissan dealership. I wasnt keen on the idea of wasting my time and money if there was no chance of getting financial assistance. With no criteria to offer me, I took the risk, because I felt surely a reputable auto manufacturer would acknowledge that spending $1000 for repair parts on a non-wear item at 70,000 miles is a bit outrageous. It took Nissan a few days to look at my circumstance. I was sorely disappointed. Not only did they decline to help me out, the explanation they gave me was that it was out of warranty. NO WAAAYYY! Since that time I requested the case be escalated, however Nissan wont return my calls.Ill be honest. Im not fun to talk to about this. I dont curse at those poor people on the phone, but I feel strongly that a brand new car taken good care of should make to at least 100,000 miles with no concerns. Im sorely disappointed with the ability to work with customers, and of course even more disappointed in my van, which I used to like. Now I have reservations that the vehicle I purchased new to depend on to transport my family safely, is not as reliable as I had previously believed. Nor is the company that built it have any concerns about instilling confidence in its customers after their Nissans fail them.I will not be buying another Nissan, nor would I recommend one to anyone else. Im not certain that another manufacturer would have handled the circumstance any differently, but I know how Nissan handled it. Fool me once... Take my advice. Take a warranty seriously. 36,000 miles isnt much, and take tracked reliability ratings seriously. I wish I had. Oh, and dont buy a Nissan.
I purchased a 2009 Nissan Rogue, new. I have owned this car for 10 years, and have paid through the nose for control arms and wheel bearings. August 4th 2015 my transmission overheated on the 400, kicked into safe mode from Cruise control and almost got us run over by a transport. It was repaired with an accessory oil cooler by Nissan two weeks later. Same thing happened 2 days ago on a trip back from Lemington. I have under the 200,000 km, but am 1 month over my warranty. So, I have been in talks with Nissans customer care department. My warranty was up July 30th. The band aid fix for my transmission on August 5th 2016 has failed 1 month after the warranty was up...imagine that. It was a pretty car. Its pretty worthless now. Seriously think over your purchases....I now have no trade value.
I have a leaking sending unit on my 2015 Nissan Sentra. I opened a case report with Nissan Corporation 2 weeks ago, Sept 1, but have not received a call back from Nissan during normal business hours despite 6 calls Ive made to the Nissan Customer Representative over the past 2 weeks. Nissan has a recall for the same problem -- on the 2015 Altima and 2015 Maxima -- an improperly installed ring on the sending unit, resulting in leaking fuel. I cannot get any assistance from Nissan as of today, August 12.Additionally Nissan sent me a letter earlier this year (the letter of course is not dated but I received it this past spring 2019) advising that I might have a complete blockage..in the EVAP tube located between the fuel tank and the evaporative emission canister. While this is different from the problem of the leaking sending unit, it illustrates that Nissan clearly has multiple problems with defective fuel pump assembly parts and/or improperly installed fuel pump assembly parts.
Buyer beware! If you have purchased a vehicle through Nissan please review your paperwork/contract. Several dealerships have been adjusting the cost of the vehicles with dealer add-ons and making it seem as though these are items you have to sign off on and not options that can be declined. These include (VIN Etch, Paint Protection, Fabric Protection. Portfolio Protection Package, GAP Insurance) and can add thousands (mine was over $5,000.00) to the overall cost to the vehicle and if you are financing you will pay interest on all these add-ons as well. This is an unfair and deceptive trade practice and has fallen under scrutiny of the State Attorney Generals Office as well as the Federal Trade Commission. If this has happened to you please report the dealership to both your States Attorney General and the FTC.You can also file a record of complaint to the DMV as I am having to do because of the above listed as well as now finding out that the salesperson committed fraud by falsifying the loan application. Currently Nissan Corporate is not taking any accountability for the dealerships unscrupulous practices and so by filing a complaint, the more people that do will show that there needs to be repercussions and Nissan Corporate needs to be held responsible as well. We the consumers have the power to say NO MORE! Please be cautious and do research online before your next vehicle purchase and if you are a Nissan owner, take a look at your documents to make sure you werent duped. After looking, you may just find out you were. :(
I want to know if anyone else is having a problem with their Rogue not accelerating in the expressway. I was driving back from Alabama to Atlanta yesterday evening and took my foot off the gas pedal briefly and as I tried to give my car gas, the car wouldnt go pass 40 miles per hour per speedometer. I almost had an accident with my child in my car trying to pull over from the left lane to get to the emergency lane. After waiting two hours for the road side assistance to locate me, my car was towed to the nearest dealership. I finally was able to get it back to Atlanta that same night. No check engine light came on at all. The car seems to be running fine. Took it to the dealership to be check and was informed that I need a new transmission.
I have an electric blue 2005 Nissan Frontier Nismo. Since about 2008 and 40,000 miles, it has been shedding paint like my car sheds hair! It started with the front left quarter panel, then the front right quarter panel, then the right rear quarter panel, then the gutters on the roof, then both doors on the right side, and also many other obscure places like the gas tank door, and underneath the hood, a place that never encounters any weather or road related contact. I bought the truck used with approximately 41,000 miles on it and, after I bought the truck, I found out that the previous owner had actually already dealt with this issue and had taken the truck to Nissan, complained about the paint peeling and Nissan did a tape test on the vehicle. They pulled off a significant amount of paint but then claimed that the issue was not a factory defect. I have gone through all of the appropriate steps with Nissan and basically have gotten the runaround. They keep claiming that its not a factory defect and that there is nothing that they can do to help me.I have formed a Facebook group titled 2005 electric blue Nissan frontier paint delamination. I am seeking as many affected Nissan Frontier owners that have experienced the same paint defect with that year, make and model and color of truck. The more people that I can get to come forward with this issue, the stronger my case will be. I have been in contact with the same attorney group that is handling the transmission/radiator recall and they are very interested in taking up this case as a class action lawsuit. So please, if you are affected by this paint peeling issue, please add yourself to the group on Facebook and we will go from there. Thank you.
I cannot begin to laud all the positive things I need to say about my Nissan. I have had the car since 2004 and it has been an absolute joy to own such a great car. In the thirteen (13) years I have owned this fine vehicle I have not put ANY major parts into it. I do routine maintenance ie: oil changes, tires, battery (1) one time. Have driven from my home state to Northern WASHINGTON without anything out of the ordinary. Total miles was over (3000) three thousand and all I did was buy gas.
2016 Rogue bad transmission at 66,000 miles! I am anxiously awaiting to find out if my lifetime warranty will cover my transmission on my 2016!!! By the looks of the reviews I am not feeling very good about the coverage. I bought this vehicle brand new from the Nissan Dealership in Grand Blanc, MI. I really believe a transmission should last more than 66,000 miles. I will leave another review after I get the results of the warranty company.
Last month (September) I was driving and my car would not accelerate. I took my car to Auto Zone so they could run a test on it to see what was wrong. The code they could not read. He told me to try getting my oil changed (I just got my oil changed July but I did it anyway). My car worked fine for a while. I got to a stoplight and again the car started not to accelerate again. So the next day I had it towed to my friends auto shop. He told me that my transmission had went out. The main issue is that I just had my transmission replaced by Nissan last July. I have a 2015 Nissan Versa.Nissan states they will not replace my transmission because Im out of the warranty. I think this is ridiculous. They can obviously see that there are issues with their transmissions because they have several other complaints about it. I am very upset because I have taken care of my car like I should but it still messed up on me and now I am without a car. I am currently appealing Nissan about not covering my transmission replacement. I should not have to go through this at all.
I purchased a used 2012 Nissan Rogue from Major World of LIC. It currently has under 94000 miles. While driving home after work one night, on a very busy parkway, the truck decided it was going to stop accelerating. No previous warning lights, no weird sounds, just wouldnt accelerate when I pressed on the gas. I dont know much about cars, but Ive been around enough old and ruggeds to know a transmission problem when I hear it. First mechanic hooked it up to computer and it said it was an air flow sensor, $400, acceleration no better. Mechanic and I go to Nissan dealer, transmission gone, $3700. School teacher and single parent, $3700 not just lying around. Everyone says this shouldnt happen when mileage not at 100K. Contact Nissan Manufacturer, they wont help. Warranty expired at 36000 mi, way before I bought truck. I did purchase extended, that expired too, 72000 miles. No other warranties offered. Manufacturer not willing to go half, even though theyve fixed for other people, same vehicle, same year, same problem. Suck it up, agree to have transmission fixed, only warrantied for 1yr or 12000 mile... WTH!!!! You cant even guarantee for 100,000 on a new transmission?!?! Need car, have to get work, no choice. Fix Transmission, 2 wks later, horrible knocking sound from back of truck. Thought tire, maybe axle. NOPE, REAR DIFFERENTIAL. $1400 to $1600 to replace. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!! Car parked now. Cant trust anyone, mechanics, manufacturers, dealer, none of them. $400 bucks a month for a car I cant use. Will never purchase another Nissan Product!
I bought my Nissan Juke in August 2012 and have had no problems with it until June. I set up a recurring payment with Nissan Finance so that I wouldnt fall behind. When we fell behind 2 months, I found that the account never saved, although it said it did. My mom even went in and set up an account, which again, never saved. So we called customer service and a lady there set it up for us, so we thought we were fine. WRONG. Our car got repossessed last night because we were behind on payments. How? I dont know. The only to get it back now is if we pay the off the car in full. The card that was supposedly supposed to be on that account is still active, so whatever happened, is beyond me. This wouldnt be the first time Ive gotten such bad service from Nissan.
So I bought a 2014 Nissan Sentra with 40k miles. I learned how to drive a stick in a 04 Sentra so I really wanted a new version after I sold my 04. Anyways. After about 4 months of having the vehicle my take off and accelerating was slow, if not completely gone. It took forever just to hit 50mph and I better not be on the highway because the minute I hit a hill whatever speed Im going will decrease even with my foot completely on the gas. It was over the time for a oil change so I took it in to get done. Problem went away so I thought I was in the clear but then it came back the next day. I forgot to mention that the engine light and traction light would come on every other day.I went to the Nissan dealership in Florence, SC where my mother was just incase I needed to steal her car. They ended up having to keep my car for 2 days because the engine lights werent on and they couldnt get a error code. Eventually they figured out it was a electrical problem and my backup communication system was failing and because of the 2 issues my battery was being drained so I needed a new battery too. The price ended up being $533. I called Nissan, started a claim, and within 24 hours I received a call back stated my claim had been approved and Nissan was going to pay 90%. Whoop whoop.The only issue was it took 10 days for the dealership to receive their check. Now those 10 days do include weekends and the 4th of July. My claim was approved Wednesday but I couldnt get my car back until the following Saturday. Even though the dealership talked to consumer affairs they wouldnt give me my car back until they got their 90%. Anyways since it was 10 days when I finally came to get my car my tech just gave it to me and forgave my 10%. I ended up paying nothing at all.
Nissan Sentra 2014! I had this car for 2 months now and I was driving to the pharmacy when my sunroof explodes out of nowhere. I went to Nissan and they told me this was not under the warranty, that it is impossible for it just to explode so they told me to repair this. It would be $720 dollars. This is very upsetting. Nothing hit my glass and no one has even touched it. I looked this problem up and many other have the same issue. Please save yourself the problem. Do not buy Nissan or Infinity. Worst customer service!!!!!
The Nissan Dealership in Greenville, NC sold me a used vehicle as is due to minor cosmetic defects (driver side mirror has plastic damage). The vehicle was bought on a Friday and the vehicle went into limp mode on a Monday. The vehicle was then driven to the Nissan dealership with the promise of a call the very next day or by the latest, Wednesday. No call was ever received. Wednesday evening I personally called the dealership but was told they were unable to locate the vehicle and would call me back in 20 minutes. No call was ever received.The next day, I called the dealership again and the person on the phone claimed that they believed they had just sold the vehicle I had just purchased and that they would call me back in 15 minutes when they had more information. Again, no call was received. Finally, Friday, I called again and they had found the vehicle. The car was immediately picked up and taken to a different dealership.This new dealership pulled the freeze frame data and was able to locate when/how long the check engine light had been on and that it had been repeatedly reset to clear the error. Issues replaced since purchase: replaced cylinders, replaced shock. Issues detected since purchase: broken tire pressure sensor, exhaust system detached from catalytic converter, in need of a new engine due to timing belt. Will absolutely NEVER buy from Nissan again. They were pushy on the sale and lacked any decency/communication after the purchase.
They approved a one month extension, then pushed us one day over the 30-day mark by their own incompetence and now refused to remove this one and only credit glitch even though we were longtime, paying on time customers. Nissan is mean-spirited and inconsiderate to their customers and should be blackballed by all of us. In fact, dont even buy Nissan. I was going to buy another Titan, but this pushed me over into the Chevy column for all time no matter what they come up with. They might as well not even exist anymore. Theyre dead to me.
With 38,215 I was told this weekend that I would have to replace the blower motor and resister. Estimated cost of parts and installation $1,100.00. This is the third time for this problem. First two times were under warranty. So other than the inconvenience, I had it repaired as instructed. Now that I have had the car for 6 years, it has happened a third time and the local dealers says it will cost $1,100.00 which is over 8.0% of what I paid for the car new.I filed a complaint with Nissan and have been given the customer service shuffle. Nissan has repeatedly refused to call at the time I have requested. I have provided the title to the car, the bill of sale, the insurance policy information, etc, etc, etc.Even requesting four different times that Nissan call between 1:30 PM and 3:30 PM Monday through Thursday, I received a call this morning at 9:25 AM. The polite young man indicated he had received prior e-mail (everyone requesting the 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM time). While his English was very good, he clearly had not read the e-mail he said he had (could be from India).I know this is one of Nissans cheapest cars, but I have owned Sentras (before Versa) but never had this many problems with something as simple as a fan switch (resister). I will never buy another Nissan and will buy American in the future. If Japan is going to make cars as bad as the America cars, I might as well buy American. At least the parts are cheaper.
This is Surya. Experienced Nissan Versa for the first time and it was an horrible situation to drive on the interstate which is very uncomfortable. The pick up is not good and the transmission is BAD that you can feel like jumping when gears changes even though its a automatic transmission. If you are driving in a hot sunny day forget about air conditioning, because it doesnt work even if you switch to high mode. Finally I had a real bad experience in Nissan Versa because of Hertz (Car Rental).
Called Nissan customer affairs, opened a case about my Nissan Rogue. My transmission went out on the freeway, had it towed to a transmission shop to have it looked at and repaired at A+ transmission- a national known place. Nissan told me they will not pay the shop nor reimburse me. I have always been a Nissan customer. I have always told everyone Nissan was the way to go when buying a car. Now the hell with that. I telling everyone go Honda or some different other than Nissan. Nissan are piecce of ** cars. Calling opening a case is a waste of time and effort. If anyone has a Nissan trade before anything goes wrong.
I purchased a 2013 Nissan Altima a year and half ago with 33,000 miles on it. The car is now at 74,000 miles and the transmission goes out. I got a check engine light on 05.20.2016 and the car would not start on 05.21.2016. I called and spoke to a Nissan Rep, with no comfort or remedy. I had to get my car towed to a mechanic, who confirmed the transmission was a bust. I searched the internet for reviews, and to my surprise, there were 100s of complaints and experiences just like mine. I dont get it Nissan... I thought you were one of the BEST... But disappointingly you the WORST!!!
I took my vehicle in for an oil change and 60,000 mile tune up. For prevent measures the service technician advised me to have my transmission replaced. When i picked up the vehicle, I noticed within 5 miles a popping noise and hesitation during acceleration. The consequence was I had to take the vehicle back to Nissan and was told at that time that the Transfer Case had to be replaced, unneeded service and unneeded out of pocket expense. For both the corporation and myself.
Planning to travel to Illinois, planning to buy a new Pathfinder in Chicago then drive the Pathfinder to New York State then drive back to my home in Utah. I looked online, found the vehicle and price, called the Chicago dealer to buy. SHOCK SHOCK SHOCK. They told me the online sales price is not for Utah residents, and I have to pay the sale price for Utah residents (we are not talking about taxes and registration), we are talking about the cost of the car. He said; Nissan assigns individual prices to each State, each State has its own price for the SAME vehicle. Same vehicle, different costs for each State.Inquiring, Is it the costs associated in shipping?, he said no. Is the individual charges from that State?, no. What is it? He said, It is the Nissan Marketing. He then said Utah residents pay $2800 more for the same vehicle so he would charge (overcharge) me $2800 more. I called 2 other dealers in Illinois to verify that Nissan charges Utah residents a higher cost for the same vehicle. I am now looking at other brands of vehicles, saddened by Nissan marketing. After several new Nissan vehicles over the past 20 years, I am leaving Nissan, due to Nissan Marketing. Utah Nissan dealers lost (future sales), so did the Illinois dealers (today). Online buying of vehicles opened my eyes. [To Nissans credit, he said it protects dealers in the State you reside in and takes that competition out between States]. Bye Bye Nissan. That is called price fixing.
The dashboard started melting earlier this year and has been getting worse. The glare is blinding in the sunlight and other times an inconvenience. The transmission whines after 2 hours of driving in +80 degrees weather. Terrible car all in all, made by a company that wont stand behind their product. Definitely the last Nissan I am going to buy.
I recently signed financing papers for a 2011 Nissan Cube at Girard Nissan. 425 Gold Star Hwy. Groton CT USA. Monday 6/22/15 I just happened to be driving by the dealership when I decided to see what they had in stock. I checked online to see what the reviews were. Whilst in the parking lot, they seemed ok. So I decided to check the items they had in stock. I noticed an older gentleman walking out the door to approach me. He introduced himself as **. He brought me in to the showroom before I even had a chance to look at any vehicles on the lot. He asked what kind of payment I was looking for. I explained what payment I could do. I also told him I would prefer to put $0 down. But could put $500 down if absolutely necessary. Three hours after I gave them the down payment, 3 hours of sitting and waiting in the waiting room, chasing my children around, they stated that they needed $200 more. Flash forward to today 6/26/15 when I went to the dealership to give them back the vehicle because I was refusing to keep it on the terms that they did not follow through with implied warranty and implied quality of the vehicle. When I asked the sales manager ** why did you have me sit around for 4 hours the first day was here? The manager told me that the credit union was not open so they had to wait until the following day. My initial thought was if the credit union wasnt open, how would they have known that they needed another $200 to secure the financing? Seems a bit shady, but whats even more shady ** showed me my credit score, to assert the point that he had to work to get the financing, only to see the real credit score on the financing application was 40 points higher than the one he showed me just minutes earlier to convince me that I was not going to be able to secure financing elsewhere. I kept both reports to confirm this.Before I ever signed to purchase the vehicle on 6/23/15 the dealership had me take the car home, stating that they were going to work on getting a better financing rate. But to get to the point where I was sent home with the car, I waited 4 hours for them to work on the financing whilst my 2 children were running a muck through out the dealership. This seemed to be a tactic to stress me out to the point where I would just sign the papers without reading them just to get out of there. Luckily my husband was here to help with the children, but it was undoubtedly a very stressful time indeed.I took the car home 6/22/15 and drove it down the highway and notices something very strange about how the transmission was shifting. When going down a steep hill, the engine would rev at 3000. When going approximate 55 mph the car would not shift and would start to redline so I decided to bring it to be checked out. My friend who is a mechanic explained to me that the transmission was slipping. It wouldnt shift into a higher gear when driving down the highway and would rev at six grand until the accelerator pedal was released and furthermore the car would also raise the idol on declining ground. He explained that these are the first symptoms of a transmission issue.When I went back to the dealership the next day 6/23/15 my spouse was unable to go with me because he was working, which was disheartening for me because he is the one who deals with all of the finances in the household. But the men at the dealership insisted that I come back at this time, on this day, as soon as I got out of work, knowing I would be alone to sign the papers. I explained to the people at the dealership that I was not satisfied with the vehicle at all. I told them explicitly that I didnt want the vehicle. I cited the following reasons as to why I didnt want the vehicle. First there was a severe smoke smell in the car. I told them that the smell made me sick. I am currently fighting a sinus issue due to this. I explained that I wanted a vehicle history report and they wouldnt give me one. I also explained that my mechanic told me that the transmission isnt working properly. ** the manager stated that they could do an extended warranty on it. He didnt introduce himself but he did offer a warranty to me. I explained that I still didnt want the vehicle. Another salesman stated that he would take the vehicle out for a ride to check it out. This man was in his early 30s had a small build. So when he returned from the test drive he confirmed that the idle was odd whilst going down a hill. This man stated that this was normal for a cvt transmission. He didnt check it on a highway to witness the lack of shifting, but he was only a sales person. I cant see how a sales person would have known more than a mechanic but anyhow. The sales manager ** explained that he worked really hard to get me the loan, and that I wouldnt have gotten a loan if he didnt do that work, and also explained if I didnt get a car from them I wouldnt get financing. I asked him what kind of interest rate he got and he said, what does it matter!? And refused to tell me, I kept it within the price range you asked for. He made it seem like I owed him for doing that work. I felt backed into a corner at this point. This is where he hands me the modified credit score, which was 40 points lower than the one on the financing application. I told the staff that there were vehicles posted for sale online through other dealerships with far lower miles, at the same price. No one seemed to care, but it is posted on their website that they guarantee competitive prices. This is false advertisement.The sales manager ** explained that he could sell me a different vehicle, but explained that it would cost me more, and I would have to wait another day to see if the financing would come through. He was rushing me along and explained that because of my credit I wouldnt be able to get financing anywhere else. He stated that he could offer me a 2012 leaf at 13000. I explained that if I was going to purchase a different vehicle I wanted to do some research. He wasnt having that he continued rushing me. The dealership was about to close. I later looked the leaf up on their website and noticed that it was listed for 11000, after the fact this really made me worry about the integrity of the men I was dealing with.I didnt want to purchase the cube with the mileage on the vehicle. I felt forced to sign the papers. The men at the dealership knew I didnt have a ride home otherwise. Since my husband wasnt there, the staff at Girard Nissan knew this, and took advantage of me. While I was in doing the paperwork, ** explained that I couldnt not have the all inclusive warranty but could only get the one that covered certain parts. Not only that but he informed me that they would not throw it in as the manager had originally mentioned, but I would have to pay $1599 for it. They told me to come back Friday for the registration and plates for the vehicle. I called Girard Nissan Wednesday. No one returned my call. I called Thursday multiple times finally the sales manager ** called me back around 6pm. He fought with me over the phone about the car, and explained that I should just come in Friday to go over the situation.On 6/26/15 I went to the dealership explained my extreme dissatisfaction to the sales manager **, but he explained to me that the vehicle was mine now, so I would have to take it up with the bank. I explained that I would speak to a lawyer to see what my rights were. He boastingly said go again you better get two of them, and explained that I would not accept the vehicle and left the keys on the counter. Is there anything that can be done about this? I signed the papers on Wednesday evening, and the sales manager tells me the vehicle is my problem now.
I have a 2012 Versa with numerous paint chips all over the vehicle. Consumer Affairs told me to have the dealer document it, which I did. They then said it was environmental and unless the manufacturer deemed the paint is defective, they cannot help. I have never had a new car chip so easily and I am convinced its due to poor paint and/or clear coat.
I leased a Nissan Leaf. I am very happy with the car; but after several attempts to initiate auto debits, NMAC began withdrawing payments from my bank account. But they never let me know that they considered my payments late. They never wrote to me to explain the situation. I only found out when I tried to refinance my mortgage that I had three late payments on my credit report. They respond to my letters with form letters that have nothing to do with my situation.
Nissan cannot find what is causing my 2016 Nissan w/600 miles to stall. Pulling into traffic it will sometime stall to the point of just barley rolling. In heavy traffic it sometimes is dangerous for me and my family. Other than that, it is a dream to drive.
Buyers beware! I am so extremely disappointed and frustrated with this company who refuses to help their customers in order to make some extra money in their pocket. They have unethical billing practices. I not only leased two vehicles from them but have only been a customer for less than 2 months and regret ever going into business with them. I have been on the phone with so many of their reps and supervisors, people feeding me different ** and after more time, stress and headache, never getting to an actual solution, but rather the way they would have it, money for them and an unhappy customer. This company is known for their terrible billing practices. Even the Mass Turnpike knew I had a Nissan without me giving any personal account information because this is what Nissan does. Thats a good reputation you’ve built for yourself Nissan. I hope I can help the next potential buyer so that when they read this, they go get a Honda instead. Trust me, you will regret getting into business with this company. I am seriously looking into getting a lawyer about this because this is just wrong. I made it so easy for them to resolve the issue, but they keep coming back with ridiculous reasons for why they cannot do that. If I was with another dealer, this would not even be an issue I would have to be resolving.
I would like to thank you for the most demeaning experience of my life. After approximately (3) weeks of being told to come pick up my car (3) different times, paying for insurance on a car I was unable to drive off the lot, producing every piece of information/documentation requested via e-mail and/or in person, never receiving one correspondence to e-mails sent to Ms. ** in the finance department; sitting in the lobby waiting to meet with the finance department for over (2) hours on (3) separate occasions, only to be told by the car salesmen I needed one more thing and come back tomorrow since it was now after 8:00pm; on one occasion I told the salesman I didnt have much time because I had to pick up my kids from practice by 8:30 I walked out at 9 because he was taking too long. I still sat there for over two hours when he assured me it would only take (15) minutes.On a different occasion I left to get something to eat and brought back dinner for the salesmen since we both had a long day; then being accused of falsifying documents by Ms. ** in the finance department because I misunderstood when she asked me for my PG&E bill I thought she needed Proof of Residency. I had no idea she needed to see the balance owed. When the salesmen explained this to me I apologized for the confusion and asked if they had a computer/printer and I replaced the document within two minutes; next, the salesmen informed me that I needed to lower the balance owed on my PG&E, which I did by making a $200.00 payment and making arrangements for the balance thing next morning; the manager called me and apologized since he had no idea I was still going through this he assured me this would be taken care of once he spoke to the owner tomorrow!All I could do at that point was cry after having to explain what I had been through and was STILL going through; 3 weeks later, I finally met with Keith in Finance 2/14/16 to sign the documents (they removed Ms. ** from the deal since she was so rude and cold to me the ONE time I actually did speak to her and the accusation/lie she told when they had to speak to her about how I was treated. I guess that was her justification; I left with the car. Happy, not so much humiliated and stressed, most definitely! I asked Keith if they could repair damage (a small crack) on the car, he replied yes. Justin (my salesmen) scheduled an appointment for me.When I showed up at the service department to drop off the car during my lunch hour, I was told I had no appointment and they dont make these types of repairs there so Id would have to wait until the salesmen came in at 2. I called the office to inform them that I would be late coming back to work. As I waited an hour for Justin, I was once again embarrassed when approached by a different salesmen. I said I was waiting to find out about having a crack on the car repaired, he asked, Why? Its not like you bought a $30,000 car. Then! After having the car for just over (2) weeks I was contacted by Keith in the finance department on a Sunday afternoon, letting me know the financing had fallen through and they needed the car back by Monday (the next day). I was in Los Angeles for my daughter. I stepped out of our hotel room so my kids wouldnt see me crying again. I contacted the finance company directly. SHE INFORMED ME THAT I NEEDED TO BRING DOWN THE BALANCE ON PG&E BILL BY $600.00, which I did just to keep my car for me and my children.Mind you when I first arrived after being convinced by a DJ who promotes events held on the lot to come there because everyone is so wonderful. The very first thing I said to the salesmen is, I have been through so much financially. I have horrible credit, a $1,500.00 down payment, and a job that I have been at for almost 16 years. If you cant help me I totally understand. He assured me that he would do the best he could. He ran my credit, laid out different terms so I said, Thank you, I cant meet those terms and left. They called me back saying THEY COULD HELP ME. Had I known I would go through so much humiliation, stress, tears and two migraines I would NEVER have gone back! I am a single mother. Paid once a month. I had to give all I had at that moment to keep the car (which included the first months payment I had set aside and money to get us through the month. I will be late on my first payment.
I recently purchased a 2018 Nissan Titan XD diesel with the midnight package. Everywhere online Nissan advertises that the midnight package XD comes with a bed liner, floor mats, wheel well flares, and more. The dealership I purchased from was nice when I bought my truck. The next day were complete jerks when I went back to ask for floor mats only. So I called customer service with Nissan and they did not do anything and did not care. Flat out told me I was just out of luck. The truck is a piece of crap. It has no power. It is not a diesel. I do not know how Cummins whatever advertise their name on that piece of junk. Save yourself the hassle. Buy a Dodge or a Ford. Stay away from their junk especially Empire Nissan at Lakewood.
I took my car to Nissan of Riverhead NY on 8-26-17. I brought it in for two new tires and a coolant flush. This job should have cost me about $450, instead I walked out paying $675. They overcharged me on every part and aspect of service. They broke not one but both of my tire TPMS sensors before telling me what they did. Then had the nerve to say it was my fault because of the metal tire valve stem caps Nissan put on years ago. They claimed giving me a coupon on my receipt and not charging me a fee made up for what they did. The coupon didnt even make up for how much they overcharged me for parts and service.Furthermore driving the car home it had a extreme vibration that it never had before and would require the brakes to be fixed on the car in under a few months to make it go away. Also the tires they sold me were the wrong ones and so badly installed that they would leak constantly and eventually need to be replaced in under two years. Mavis confirmed that it was poor work that cause the premature failure of my brakes and tires. I have all the supporting receipts and videos to prove all this. Coming from a Loyal Nissan customer FOR ELEVEN PLUS YEARS, I am disgusted at their lack of care and concern for issues that my recent lease CAME WITH. I just signed this lease, trading in my old one at the end of May. I will NEVER go with Nissan again after my recent experiences with the Patchogue, NY Dealership and Consumer Affairs absolute lack of care and effort to mend anything. Problems at the dealership level have left me going to Consumer Affairs which were of no further help at all. They act as if all of this is out of their hands and there is nothing to do to reassure their efforts at trying to make me satisfied.They cannot get one person on the phone to speak with me. I have had issues regarding my new 2018 lease 3 months in, leaving it in the shop to be repaired with NO ETA of time it will be done (because items are back-ordered) and ready for me to drive again. Though they did mention maybe some time in October... awesome because I dropped off my car on 8/27. I also only get this info through voicemails because every time I try to call back it goes to voicemail and I wont receive another call until they have their scheduled time to call me back. Horrible customer service and quality of care.My new lease has a safety brake issue where the auto safety break will go off when no one is around, breaking my car while going 40+ mph. Apparently this is a VERY COMMON issue (talk about safety) with ALL Nissan models starting with the VIN K. So Id check your VIN because I am sure if you dont say anything about it, they wont either. I have also had the issue of my backup camera lagging and freezing as backing up since the beginning. There was no point to even use it because it was inaccurate and dangerous to do so. My radio has also just decided to black out one day for a good 10 minutes. Couldnt do anything about it. This is my THIRD time back to the dealership where they finally kept the car to fix it fully, even after showing them video evidence of my experiences the second time I went back.Patchogue has provided me a loaner of not even the same model or year of my current Rogue lease. Which is fine and I normally wouldnt care, BUT at this point, still paying for a new lease yet driving around an older vehicle for over a month has me fuming. I have been polite and patient up until now. The back and forth phone calls that go nowhere are leaving me stressed and in disbelief with this company. I am in shock and SO dissatisfied with all this new 2018 Nissan Rogue and Nissan Customer Service has come with. This is my fourth Nissan, third lease. I have NEVER had an experience like this. I am beyond shocked and pissed.
DONT BUY NISSAN SENTRA - I say sentra because thats what I own. Purchased a 2013 sentra and the car haven been back to the dealer more than I have been to the doctor during the same period. Too many problems. As of Aug 16th 2016 less than 34,000K miles: Oil leak steering rack, CVT slips and poor acceleration, Brake noise, Shock replaced below 20k miles, Air bag light - countless, Dead battery - replaced 3 times in 3 years - I tired of telling dealer its not the battery. Stupid! Smelly AC - Like dead animal, Rear bumper color changed... parked in garage all the time... sun isnt a factor. Work from home. DONT BUY.On the issue of dead battery... well I went to two funerals out of the country in July and Sept 2014. Gone for 3-4 days each time. Arrive well guess what? Car didnt start.. In October of the same year went on a cruise Friday got back Monday... wont start. August 12th 2016 went to get an oil change. Got out of the car at the dealer, give the key to the guy at the desk. Ten minutes later he walks inside... Sir do you have a set of keys on you? NO...I just give it to you I repiled. Rep. replied.. The car wont start.Okay... they jumped it... which it started. Did battery test etc... said all is good. Saturday morning it started... just wanted to check. Wife and I decided to go for dinner selected a place... one hour drive away from home. Not just for the food okay - for the drive and spend time together. Well after we got dressed around 6pm ready to go... car wont start. Ok I got a jump and off we go. After 11pm we decide to head home, got to the parking lot car wont start. Finally close to midnight someone give us a jump.. it started and we left for home. Got home without any issues.Next morning 9am sunday... well not even a jump could help it... it was DEAD but I must say it was trying to turn over but it couldnt get there. Lights started flashing, beeping etc... like Christmas. Finally after trying well there wasnt any juice left. I GIVE UP... THERE GOES MY SUNDAY. Called Nissan Monday morning. Customer service said they wont get it towed. I had to pay out of my pocket... that did it. I let loose on the rep. but after apologized to her not her fault... but I was pissed. I told her let a manger called me. They said 24hrs. So 2 days wait... now I used my AAA and towed the vehicle. Battery changed again. Car is running for now. Today I missed the mgr call. I returned the call and left a message....
I have done business with Nissan Motors for the past 6 years. I recently turned in my Lease for a 2010 Nissan Maxima. After near 45 days, I received a bill for $1600 for excessive wear and tear. I have never seen such a high bill and even when I turned my car to dealership, they mentioned this was one of the cleanest cars they ever got back. When I called Nissan Acceptance, they started saying you should review the contract and should have done a 3rd party inspection before giving the car back. They claim they sent me a letter too... but I never got anything. All I got was phone calls asking me to release another Nissan. I have leased vehicles before and this is the shadiest process. Good luck to Nissan as I will ensure none of my friends will get a Nissan anymore... Awesome customer service... Way to go Nissan...
Dec of 2018 I purchased my 8th Nissan through a local used car dealer. I purchased a 2015 Nissan Altima with 43k miles cosmetically good condition. At first I noticed it was smoking blue when I would power on the vehicle and the smell of Burnt rubber. As I normally do with all my vehicles I called Nissan to see if it had any recalls etc. and took it for service, shortly after I get low oil pressure on my dash. I then looked at the owners manual and called where I had my oil change they re serviced and did not notice any leaks etc.3/20/10 I took it to Rothrock Nissan in Allentown for diagnostics and they tell me that there is oil burning something having to do with the valves, but that I needed to bring it in again for a 3 hr diagnostics at $120 hr (of course this is out of pocket unless its approved to be covered by Nissan powertrain warranty that the vehicle still had till it reached 60k). I took my vehicle in on 3/26/19 in the morning, at this point I needed a rental to get to and from. I asked my advisor Simone and she says they dont have any and proceeds to call a major car rental co. I called throughout the week to get updates since it went from a 3 hr to a wk long diagnostics and I was told they found sludge in the oil pan therefore more than likely Nissan would deny covering under warranty as that only happens due to poor maintenance. (Really? Im being held liable for a previous owner lack of maintenance yet I have all my service receipts).I quickly called Consumer Affairs and opened a claim with them which I didnt get a call till I had already picked up my car on a Tuesday because when I went to Rothrock my car was unassembled and the tech working on it was off. Really??? Wow customer service and having me an answer by Friday of the same week, keep in mind I called the service manager Patrick twice to get updates and no return call. I literally had to show up after work to get an answer. At this point I have to keep a rental 3 more days to my expense (smh). I was told the claim had not been approved yet and I would have to wait till Monday 4/1/19. I called Monday and they stated it had been denied now the warranty was null and void. Lovely Nissan!!!!I will never purchase another Nissan needless to say, being that they do not stand by their clients, I am now $690 out of pocket between car rental and diagnostics and they did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to try and make up for not approving replacing the engine through the powertrain warranty. They shouldve at least covered the diagnostics then. Tuesday of that following week I get a call from Trenisha at Nissan Consumer Affairs and they didnt even know I had the vehicle in my possession nor that supposedly the claim had been denied.So now Im 10k in a car debt/payment for a car that needs a new engine, had powertrain warranty but no longer valid through Nissans decision and $690 less in my pocket. So much for staying faithful to the brand. AGAIN dont BUY USED NISSANS THAT SO CALLED ARE STILL UNDER WARRANTY AS THEY WILL LOOK FOR ANY EXCUSE TO NOT COVER. The worst part is realistically no used car dealer takes out all of the oil pans to used vehicles purchased at auctions or traded in.
I had to have my 2009 370Z towed to the dealership twice. The dealership did not know the cause and the car just started after some testing. They released the car not knowing if it would do it again. 1-2 weeks later, on a Monday morning, the car did not start after my appointment with a client. The dealership, after weeks of review, could not test out or get the car started. In the meantime, I am working with a gal at consumer affairs. I told her what happened, and a week she called back stating they are not accepting the claim as if it were an owner maintenance issue and 3 months out of warranty. As we found, it was an electrical something in the steering column locking the car down as if it were being stolen. This is certainly not an owner maintenance issue and the car was only at about 32,000 miles. This little bit of time did not affect the outcome and certainly not the mileage. The problem is Nissan did not want to stand behind a known problem in other vehicles with the similar theft deterrent systems, but also because of the cost of replacing the whole steering columns - $1,200 plus. Welcome to my first Nissan experience. I will not buy another.
I bought my 2012 Pathfinder with 2,500 miles about a month ago. It has been in the dealer seven times, twice for the car will jump into 4X4 automatically and check engine light comes on. Due to some bogus info from the tech at the dealer about too much trans fluid being put in, Nissan has voided my warranty for the trans. No one will call me back from Nissan executive levels or even try to help in any way. The car has 4,000 miles on it and I am over a barrel. We purchased a certified pre-owned Nissan Pathfinder 8/2010 from the local Nissan dealer, Central Valley Nissan. The vehicle had 76,000 miles on it at the time of purchase, and now has 89,000 miles on it. We recently noticed an issue with the cars transmission. When we are driving, the car will knock when shifting gears and it also makes this rumbling or shaking vibration feeling. We researched the issue and found that Nissan had defective radiators installed in the 2005/2006 models that caused fluid from the radiator to leak into the transmission, causing transmission failure and necessary transmission replacement. We took our car to the transmission shop to confirm that this was the issue, and it was. The owner of that shop called the dealer we purchased the car from, where it was confirmed the defective radiators were installed on this model and several others. Nissan didnt issue a recall, but instead extended their warranty to 80,000 miles. Since our vehicle was at 89,000 miles, the dealer instructed us to call the Nissan Consumer Affairs dept. to explain the problem and try to get them to cover the cost of the repair. I contacted them, reported the issue, got a file number (#**) and was told I need to take the vehicle to a certified Nissan repair shop and get a diagnostic report sent over to them. We took the car to Central Valley Nissan. They were aware of the defective radiator problem and agreed that we should have been informed of this problem at the time of purchase, especially since it was so close to the warranty cut off. They put us in a rental telling us we cannot drive this car in its current condition and said they will deal with corporate. We were just notified after 2 days that corporate has denied our claim, stating that our mileage is past the warranty cut off. They instructed me to call Nissan Consumer Affairs again and talk to a supervisor about my case. I tried to speak with a supervisor but was told by Layla (Customer Support Rep) that there were no supervisors available and I would need to wait for a call back for 4-6 hours. She refused to transfer me, or even give me the name of the person who would be calling me. I am so extremely disappointed in the way this is being handled. Nissan installed defective parts in thousands and thousands of vehicles but instead of recalling the parts they just extended a warranty but then didnt notify any of the customers. In every single report I have read from other customers with this same issue, they only found out about the defective radiator after it caused a problem with their transmission. Nissan had a responsibility to their consumers to notify them of this defect and to provide them with information on how to get it repaired/replaced. This is 100% Nissans fault, and I cannot believe the run-around I am getting. What I find equally amazing, is that in most reports the radiator didnt start causing problems until after 80,000 miles, and that is where Nissan stopped the coverage. This is a pathetic move by this company. I was happy with my Nissan, very happy, but because of this issue now I will never purchase another Nissan vehicle again. This defect is going to cost us thousands of dollars in repairs, and I have no choice but to repair the vehicle because we still have 3 years left on our loan. I am truly saddened, and extremely angry with the way Nissan handled this.
I brought a New Leaf on 2nd May 2014. This car is supposed to go 170 Km on a full Battery Charge. My new car will only do 90 to 100 Kms. on a full charge. It has been back to the dealer 3 times for repair. The Head Office of Nissan will not honor the Warranty, as they say there is nothing wrong with the batteries. Their Sales Booklet and internet says should get 170 kms on a full charge. I paid $39,000 cash and would like my money refunded. Head Office in Melbourne WILL NOT CHANGE THE BATTERIES.This car does not perform to what is printed in the Booklet. This car was made in April 2012. Held in storage at Brisbane until sold. The Batteries are 2 Years old when it was delivered to me 4th June 2014. Compliance Plate was Dated May 2014, but the car was over 2 years old then. I expected to buy a 2014 produced Car not a 2 year old one. If then it is sold next year it will say it is 3 year old. I consider that it is false sales to me [not a 2014 model car]. I think Nissan Australia should take the back and Refund me my money.
Purchased a Nissan Sentra new in 2011. The CVT Transmission has went out at 79000 miles. Nissan extended the warranty on these same transmissions through 2010. Because they were having major issues. Called Nissan and they informed me today that they would not help with the repair of the transmission because so far no one has had issues other than myself. So now I will have to spend $3800.00 to be repaired. But there is an issue concerning the CVT Transmission that has not been fixed for several years. If I had done my homework I would have not purchased any car with this transmission. Read the reviews please dont get stuck like I have.
I have a 2007 Nissan Altima 2.5s whose safety/emissions failed because of a faulty catalytic converter. W/o knowing that all vehicles in US have a warranty on catalytic converter for 8 years or 80,000 miles (whichever comes first), I got it replaced at a local shop after ordering the part myself from Auto Zone. Part + labor cost close to $500. I came across some info about the warranty coverage on the internet and argued with my local shop how they kept me in the dark about the warranty especially when its the same terms for every make and model. So anyway, I called Nissans consumer affairs up and notified them of what happened and that I was rerouted to them by our local Nissan dealer. After a billion phone calls, I could finally get to someone who was willing to help and asked me to fax all the documents - bills, labor charges, safety/emission inspection reports etc. I did and they never replied. After another million calls to them, they returned with one call and said they cant do any reimbursement since it was done at a local shop and not a Nissan dealer. I told them beforehand the whole situation even before I faxed the documents. They couldve just saved me time and money by telling the same upfront. On the last call (Glenda, who handled my case) just kept yapping away, that theyre sorry they cant make any reimbursement. It was just a waste of time with these people. Ive always been a loyal customer of Honda and Toyota and swayed a bit 4 years ago by purchasing this piece of junk. Never a Nissan again - not just because of their crappy products which most of them have shuddering issues, but their awful customer service! If only they went out of business before Carlos Ghosn took over...
I recently purchased a 2013 Nissan Rogue with 133,000 miles. Seemed to be just what I needed. However, just a few days after I purchased I noticed the engine would power down when taking off. I had it checked out and it was the transmission. I verified with the Nissan dealer and they confirmed it was the transmission. When calling to make the appointment and telling the problem that was experienced the service guy expected it to be the transmission. Seems that it is a common problem with the 2013 model. However, I have since found out that is a problem for 2010. Nissan needs to extend their warranty repair for this problem.
I bought a 2016 Nissan Maxima on May 10, 2016. Three weeks later I hit a deer with the car. Three months later I am still waiting to have the car fixed. Apparently the problem has been a wire harness that affected the airbags and seatbelts. Nissan is taking their sweet time getting the wire harnesses to Valley Nissan to start with. Now my insurance adjuster told me that Valley Nissan had gotten the wire harnesses for the car two weeks ago and they have not bothered to put them in yet. I am still waiting on Valley Nissan to fix it. I am still three months later waiting for this car to be fixed and daily I get the normal response that Ill be getting the car the next day but never do. I will never ever buy a Nissan product from Valley Nissan nor will I ever buy a Nissan product.
I have experienced more incompetence from this dept. than any other customer service center I have ever contacted. It has been 3 months I have been attempting to get them to send my title to the state DMV for registration. I have faxed them documents at least 6 times during this period. I follow-up with the fax to confirm everything was received and it is all in order. I am told all is in order and the request is being processed. A week later I follow-up for status to be told something or other is missing or incorrect. They do not have the courtesy to contact me when they discover the error, they simply throw it out and never inform the customer. I will never buy a Nissan again.
