We brought our leased 2010 Honda Accord EX-L in for a routine oil change and were told that the rear brakes needed replacing. We only have 29,500 miles on the car and were told that we would have to pay for the brake job. This is the 5th Honda Accord we have leased and we never had a problem like this. Our lease is up in November of this year and we are having second thoughts about another Honda lease. Being a front wheel drive vehicle, why are the rear brakes worn and not the front brakes?
Honda brand Cars stand the test of time. The affordability when repairs are needed are one of the major reasons I would purchase another Honda. The only issues I came across were with the AC and some minor electrical issues. The AC apparently had some issues that were addressed company wide and when I went to a Honda Service Center, The problem was fixed free of charge. As for the electrical issues, I have not had any clear reason told to me of why they occur but have heard from other Honda Owners that they have also experienced small electrical errors. Those issues include the radio/gps monitor and connection.
I have a 2004 Honda Accord that I bought brand-new. I have always had all routine maintenance completed at a Honda dealership. I had the timing belt replaced ($1,000) within the 7-year time period, hoping to avoid any serious damage if it ever broke. Right after that, I had to replace the power steering pump ($500), because it went bad at 70,000 miles. Now at 83,000 miles, my transmission has gone out; and I am having to spend $4,000 to have that replaced. I have always taken very good care of this car. I bought it, because of Hondas reputation and hoped it would last me a long time before any major repairs were needed. I have read about numerous complaints and recalls for the transmission, so this leads me to believe Honda isnt what I once thought it was. I will not buy another one, even though I love my car. Its not worth what I have had to spend.
I have taken my car back to service at Honda since day one for a rocky and shifting ride. I have been told over 20 times that there is nothing wrong with my car that it drives as designed. I have also taken my car to outside mechanics that have told me exactly what I felt when I drive my car. The other mechanics (not Honda) state that my car drifts left and pulls right. Each time after I take my car to an outside mechanic I then take it back to Honda service and they say the same thing, car drives as designed and that they can not find anything wrong with my car. What I found out between the 14th and 15th time of taking my car to Honda that every time that I have brought the car back that my rotors and brakes we always inspected as part of Hondas service plan. So my thing is that if it had be inspected and the outside mechanics noticed it immediately how come Honda never diagnosed the problem (Oh my bad. Theres no problem). I have gone to the attorney general and without an inspection of my car or anything they sided with Honda. I tried the Better Business Bureau but they do not deal with brand new model vehicles. They referred me to NCDS National center for dispute settlement, a carbon copy of the attorney generals office. So no matter the documents you have or proof its basically your word against the word of the big corporation. Im in a losing battle while still having to pay for and drive a vehicle that probably will be the cause of my life and my families life as well as others. Been thinking of a voluntary repo but that will kill my credit. Better my score than so many lives.
Please note that I have a severe problem with my car, although I requested many times to check the sound that Ive always heard from the first day Ive purchased my car. And during my last service, I asked formally to check for this sound which has always repeated and asked them to mention it in the car job, and finally, they told me it is a small spare part that needs to be changed and it will cost 7,000 EGP!. How come I have to pay for an item which causes the problem that existed since the first day I purchased my car. Please, I need your support as I already did escalation in Honda Egypt, and no one even tried to call me.
Our 2003 Accord (that we service at regular intervals and did everything the Honda dealer recommended) had the camshaft literally start coming apart. The damage to the motor was very costly. Because it was over 100,000 miles, the dealer told us our only recourse was with Honda Motors. I contacted Todd ** and he said it was just a normal wear and tear, and then said he was sorry that he couldnt help us. Normal wear and tear? A camshaft? I guess the words manufacturers defect isnt in Hondas nomenclature.
I have a Honda Accord that my husband bought for me. The car is 2 years old now and I just had taken it in for service on my brakes. I mentioned that I hate this car because of the road noise. They said its probably your tires and $1200.00 later I have new tires and new brakes but my car is quiet now. They said I should have brought it back after I first got my car. Well, in my opinion it should have been right to begin with. I had NEVER owned a Honda before! I ran into 2 other people that had the same problem with their Hondas. I have no idea what type of tires the factory puts on their cars - but Honda should start with the best - if they want repeat customers.
I have Honda City full options, year 2006, 1.5l VTEC. I have this accident from the front of the car; the car condition is total loss. My complaint is how I have an accident like this and no airbag has opened. I have 2 airbags in the front, and I have been injured. What is the safety in the car?I bought a Honda, because it is a brand; and I paid more than the worth of other Korean cars because of safety. Where is it, the safety factor? I have an accident like this, and my life was in danger. And I am injured now. I am so upset with what happened; I didnt expect this from Honda.
Honda Amaze - The fault is in design of car. Air filter is located very close to bottom due to which water can easily enter in engine. HONDA HAS DESIGN FLAW. Honda blocks people who post on their Facebook with complaint. Honda has design flaw.
I bought my 02 Accord brand new, and now have 174K on the clock. Ive replaced the transmission 3 times, and finally found a shop here in San Francisco that built it correctly. They told me that Honda transmissions are unlike any other standard transmission design and they fail often. Theres too much pressure kept in the torque converter, and not enough return fluid for the unit to function correctly. There are several aftermarket fixes, of course, that you have to pay for. When I picked my car up at the shop, there were 3 Accords, 3 Odysseys and 2 MDXs. I called American Honda to ask for some sort of help seeing as this is my 3rd time around the pony show - nothing. Shame on Honda for being so stupid in their design. Im not going back for more.
My wife and I were car shopping yesterday to replace her 2000 Honda Accord V6 EX model. We drove a new 4 cylinder Accord - interior and gadgets were nice but the car would surge between 5-25 mph. The salesman said he never noticed it before so we drove another one - same thing; they surge. We bought a new Nissan Altima. It was everything a new car should be.
My mechanic noted that there was something wrong with my CVT automatic transmission around 35K miles and recommended I take it into the dealer asap, which I did. After a number of visits and a lot of runaround, they rebuilt the transmission. At around 75K, it started showing signs of failure again, and unfortunately, this time I delayed until it had around 95K on it, thinking the extended 100,000 mile warranty on just this problem would cover it. No such luck, since it was 100K or 7 years, and as an early adopter buying the car in the fall of 2002, I was 1 or 2 months beyond the 7 yr limit. The dealer offered me no hope and backed that up by getting me rejection from the regional manager. Calls to American Honda fell on equally deaf ears. Car shakes - violently on hills - when starting from stop since faulty transmission basically has no start up gear. Probably used a plastic motorcycle part or something, who knows. Bottom line is, after driving this piece of junk that never got close to the advertised mileage, I regret ever buying a Honda and never will again. I know some, maybe most of their cars, are fine. Then again, I have friends with an Odyssey that had a similar problem with transmission failure 2x under 100K. Never again. Dont buy Honda, simply because they choose to not stand behind their products. Too bad - another corporation ruined by greed and short-sighted behavior. Im about ready to trade it in for $1,000 or whatever I can get and buy a new Ford Focus.
I bought a outboard motor from the Honda official website. When I queried my order the receptionist said that I was the 20th person today and basically it’s been hacked numerous times over 2 yrs so I must take it up with the bank yet the bank can’t do anything so now I have no boat motor and no money to get one. Absolutely disgusted by Honda!!!!
Have had this car four years, no problem at all. Service as required and it should be good for many more years. Great gas mileage about 29 per gal. more on long trips. Rides good, handles well. We will have belts checked soon and winter checkup done.
I wish to state that I bought City but since its purchase, I have complained in your City while transferring gear. There is noise coming out and Honda people dont admit they have problem and have lot of excuses. Even distributor agreed theres a problem. I took the car to Honda South. I am not satisfied. I have tried to email but theres a problem with their email as well.
Went local and after 3 mo. they could not relate issue to area rep. Call for roadside assistance after car died. Seven thousand miles on odometer. Waited 4 min. For assistance then needed ID #. Find that in the dark. Called back. Waited 5 min. Got someone I couldn’t understand. Ask her to repeat and she hung up. She did not call back. This was your -Roadside Assistance??? I’d
My name is Jose **. 2 weeks ago I took my Honda Civic to the Honda dealership to fix my 2 recalls On my airbags. Also had my AC fixed because it was not turning on, they told me it was gonna cost me a little over $500 To get it fixed. I said go ahead fix it, same day I called the dealership that car was overheating and shutting off after they did work on it, they completely denied it that they only touched the AC but I have proof from other repair shops there was nothing wrong with my car, I took my car for one thing, I don’t know what they did, it damaged another thing, now they say is a bad battery, a bad alternator and a bad AC compressor, but that’s not what they told me at first when I took my car to have my AC fixed, what can I do?
The car cut off while I was in the store for five minutes. I was told that if you leave keys in the ignition while off, it drains the battery. No car in my life has that ever happened after leaving the radio in the car on and drained the battery. I had a problem within 3 months of buying a 2008 Honda. The car cut off and wouldnt start, and it did it again last night. I took it in before and the first time I took it in, the battery was fine. They checked the battery today and they said it was no good but it happened a total of 4 times and there was a recall on the car. It happened to other people and which shouldnt have happened. It cut off last night and no key was in the ignition and the battery died. I spoke to Ron, store manager, and the service manager and they refuse to change the battery. All they did was to charge up the battery because they wanted me to purchase a battery for $159 which is a problem. Because there was a problem a few months after I bought the car and I brought in for the same thing now, in less than a year. Honda told me that if you leave the key in the car, the car still is drawing power even though the key is off. I kid you not. My mom was in the car for five min. and the battery died. Honda of Roanoke Rapids doesnt care about customer service and doing what is right to satisfy the customer. The battery was going bad before I bought it in March. I will never buy a car again from them. And I have the powertrain warranty and American Honda forced me to get it and wont cover squat. I was forced to take it by American Honda or else they would not approve my loan. This was Honda of Roanoke Rapids. How many did they force to take warranty out so they can get more money from them?
I was not a Honda person until I started researching them and found that everyone who had one had none to rarely any problems with them. In addition to their reliability, their fuel economy is very good and they hold their value if maintained and taken care of. There are vehicles that are more comfortable but if they are sitting in a repair shop draining your bank account and are unreliable as transportation offsets the difference in comfort. I have owned many new vehicles and the most expensive one (a Cadillac STS) is the worst ever for reliability and our Honda CRV has been the best with ZERO problems ever.
I bought my Civic Sedan LX 2012 on February 4, 2012 from the Honda dealer at Manhasset. I only have a little over 5,000 miles on it because I mostly only use it to commute to work during the weekdays. One of the reasons I bought a Honda car instead of any other was because of its high standard and reputation for making great motor vehicles that don’t break down easily. This past week, my car, for the second time within a year, had to go back to the shop for maintenance and repairs due to water leaking into the gas tank. The first time this happened was back on September 2, 2012.I had the car taken to Hillside Honda to be inspected. When they looked into it, they found that water had gotten into the gas tank. Ive been going to the same gas station near my house ever since I bought this car, and nothing like this ever happened before either to me or anyone who goes there. My family, friends and co-workers all blamed Honda for a manufacture defect. But even though I felt bad about this case, I didnt blame Honda at all and in fact, finished off paying off for the car this past January 8th - 11 months after I bought the car and much earlier than the initial 3 year plan I signed up for. Then now, only a few months later, the same thing happened.I can only deduce that either I believe there was a mechanical deficiency, to begin with, in the car when I originally bought it, or when I had the car fixed and the people at Hillside Honda said that they put all new parts; they put the same ones back because the exact same thing happened. It’s a brand new model and I demand something be done about this because now I have a phobia about driving this car, and because I don’t know when or where my car might stop. Safety should be a priority on any vehicle. Luckily both times, I was near my house when this happened; God knows what could have happened if the car chose to stop on the highway. If something like this happened 5 years after I bought the car, I would surely take responsibility for it; but how can something like this happen twice within the first year? This is unacceptable and totally unfair for me to have to take responsibility for. Not only do I want Honda to recall this vehicle and pay for the costs in having to repairing this vehicle for breaking down both last time and this time, but I would also like a refund for the car itself. If I didnt care much about having to constantly care for my car, I would have bought a used model and at a significantly lower price. I trusted Honda’s integrity even after last September’s incident, which made me pay off the rest of the car without any further doubts; but now, I know I made a mistake in thinking so.
Model Accord - System/Structure/Body/Trunk Lid. We have had our 2014 Honda Accord for just over one year. All of our family members have been hit in the head or back by the trunk. The trunk does not stay open on even a modest grade but does not fall down for several seconds, allowing people to lean into the trunk before it hits them. Injury to death more likely from the trunk lid. I have owned 10 cars and have never had one where the trunk lid will not remain up. 2014 Honda Accord problems and complaints, up-to-date recall information and reviews. If you are researching a used Honda Accord, driving a 2014 Honda Accord, or if you are planning to purchase one, review owner-reported Honda Structure, Body, Trunk Lid problems and defects.
I purchased a 2018 Honda Civic Hatchback in November of 2017. Navigation system has not worked correctly from the beginning and other electronic problems have arisen since. I gave them 8 attempts to fix it, with my car being in the shop a total of 67 days. I started the lemon law process and after the final attempt didnt work, I requested them to buy it back. They sent me a letter declining to do so because they tried to fix it in good faith. They offered me a one time $1500 cash settlement for my time and to keep me a happy customer.I refused and filed with the state for an arbitration hearing. At the hearing, they tried to say EVERYTHING I did could have caused my problems- had to replace my window from a rock and that new window might be causing an interference, using a Bluetooth headpiece separate from the car might cause an interference, having my phone in the car might be causing an interference, using music on a usb drive could have corrupted files and cause an issue. It was horrible. The arbitrator sided on my side and they were told how much they had to pay me back. They sent me a letter stating in order to repurchase it back, they needed several items of information. I faxed all the information requested over the same day. A week later, I get another letter requesting one piece of the information to be sent again like I hadnt already sent it. I overnighted the entire packet to them again. Then, I get a letter saying they are happy to comply and someone would be in touch, but when I dropped off the car, I owed THEM more than $6000 from prior debt I had. I refused and a gentleman called me to explain why, which made no sense. Then the very next day, I get another letter stating that was in fact exactly how much I owed them and I needed to contact the state if I had any further questions concerning it. The state rep said she even chuckled at that one because there was no way they were going to tell me that was correct since it wasnt what the arbitrator decided. During this time, I left a total of 4 voicemails for the Honda representative, and two emails. None of these messages were ever returned. Last week, I FINALLY received a letter stating they were going to comply with the request at the stated amount and someone would be in touch. The very next day on Friday, I was in meetings for a total of 4 hours. During that time, I missed 1 call from Hondas repurchasing vendor about scheduling a time on Monday to return the car. I called her back when I got home, and we scheduled for Monday. She verified everything I would need to bring and I asked if I would be receiving my check at this time. She stated there was no check included in my packet. I told her I did not trust honda enough to give back the car without them complying with ALL the decision. The next morning, I get a call from the same rep saying she has the check as it was overnighted to her for me. The same day, I get a nastygram in the mail from Honda stating they had tried to call me, and sent a letter and had proof that I had received it (the same letter I received that stated someone would be in touch regarding scheduling). The letter continued to state that honda had performed its due diligence in meeting the terms of compliance, but my participation was critical and they were requesting me to extend my full participation in this matter in order to complete the process. (All this because I didnt respond to 1 phone call until 4 hours later, when they have never responded to any of my contact attempts.) The car is scheduled to be picked up tomorrow and I cant get rid of it fast enough. The local dealership has been wonderful (surprisingly for a dealership) and I originally thought about getting another honda because of this reason, but my experience with the actual company has made me swear off Honda for the rest of my life. This was my first and last one and I will take EVERY opportunity to post copies of these stupid letters for others to be aware what this company is really like. I will be posting reviews anywhere possible to warn people NOT to buy a Honda for any reason! Any company that treats its customers with such disrespect is worthless.
I have owned 4 Honda/Acura vehicles in the past. I currently own a 2017 Civic hatchback and a 2017 Ridgeline. The Civics TPMS sensor went off after a day or two of owning it. It took 3 visits to the dealer for them to figure out that there was a nail in the tire. It didnt seem to faze them that they missed this twice before. This was at Sunset Honda in San. The Civic has a dash rattle that they cannot diagnose or fix after several visits. This is at Santa Maria Honda, CA.The Ridgelines parking sensor warning chime comes on every time it rains. When I dropped off the car it was raining and the sensors was chiming incessantly. In spite of this fact after waiting the whole afternoon I was told the technician cannot reproduce the problem and it cannot be fixed. This was at Santa Maria Honda, CA. What is happening to Honda and their dealers? I dont think I will buy another Honda.
Easy handling drives and good on fuel and brakes very well. I like the car very much. It suits my needs and my driving style. I would purchase another if I were in the market for a new car. I am quite pleased with it.
The rear passenger window does not go up. I understand that this is an ongoing problem and should be covered during a recall. I now have to take my car into Honda, with a minimum $99 fee and no idea what else they will charge to fix the problem.
My previous Honda 2001 went through to 107,000 miles with only a loose transmission fluid hose. Amazing! This is not the case with my 2007 EX-L V6. The car was in four (4) repairs while on warranty! It had bad leather finish sticking out, rattle in rear door due to bad hinge, bad front brakes pulsating, complete failure of the whole AC system (the car was in repair almost two weeks for that one alone). Disgusting quality! Now, I did notice when the car was nearing the warranty end, I heard front cooling fans running long after the car shutdown. I got concerned and disconnected the fan wire and connected again, and the problem went away. A few weeks ago, my battery died. I put a new battery. I just noticed that my fan keeps running again for hours when the car is off. Turns out, there is something going on with relays. I am looking forward to dump this lemon as soon as I have enough money. I am not going back to Honda and I am educating everyone how bad Honda quality has become.
Honda is always famous for their pathetic services. Here first time I contacted them in three years for road assistance that to at Jayanagar, Bangalore which is heart of the city but after two hrs also nobody has turned up yet. They are not ready to share technician’s no. also. They shared the complain no. after one hr from the time of registering the complain. They don’t mind keeping on hold for 20 minutes or more than that. When I asked them to connect with their seniors after keeping me on hold for four minutes executive said they are busy and can’t talk now. Is it really worth to pay them hefty amount and suffer like this for the service where other private players provided it at very low cost and with 30 minutes commitment. Honda’s Services sucks in India.
I own the Touring version of the 2005 Honda Odyssey. The vehicle was purchased new. In the fall of 2008 the passenger-side sliding door was registering as being open. The dash light came on & the steady alarm that goes off would stay on while I was driving.I could de-activate the alarm by sliding the doors control button to a manual setting. However, the dash light would keep warning me bybinging) that the door was open. The motor would engage briefly while & the door would actually move while I was driving! I was unaware at the time that the doors bad connection was also draining my battery.Took it in 12/08 to a dealership. Was told the motor & latch had to be replaced along with the battery to the tune of $691.Done.Late in 2010 the other sliding door (passenger side) started doing the same thing. My battery died repeatedly & at 1 point was replaced.Took it to another dealership & they found the exact same door problem as the previous incident.Motor & latch had to be replaced on THAT door for $945. Done.At present (8/3/11) the driver side sliding door is broken AGAIN!If I replace it AGAIN it will be the THIRD door on that sidesince owning the vehicle. Called Honda HQ. Gentleman was pleasant but had a most difficult time comprehending the problem.Even asked me if I was sure that it was that door.I had to explain to him how the dashboard features are pretty specific as to which door (or tire, for that matter) is acting up.Unbelievable!Bottom line, since nothing is under warranty, Honda has no problem with me putting out another $1,000 to replace the door . . again. The only thing I garnered from the phone call was a case file number! They will not acknowledge that this is obviously a problem that should NOT be recurring like this & they shoud share some responsibility in the cost.I have also been blessed with run-flat tires on this model which I have had to replace several times at $1200/4 tires.I am sorely disappointed in what I thought was a reputable company that would stand behind its product.I will be selling the vehicle & will never set foot in a Honda dealership again.
We purchased a certified used 2012 Honda Accord Sedan in March 2014. We are now attempting to private sell, trade in the vehicle that we purchased and cant give it away. We are being offered no more than $7k for a car worth 13-14k. Come to find out we were only given half the story. The car was not involved in a minor crash prior to our purchase, it was involved in a total of 2 collisions with moderate damage and air bag deployment. Further research and appraisal recently reveals frame/structural damage throughout and nobody wants it. The deceptive business practices used by Honda of Burleson Texas are repulsive. The car is great, runs good, has no mechanical flaws etc. but we will never be able to part ways with it.
Honda is a great car, but it lags behind many other SUVs in the area of safety. My 2019 has some safety features but they are unpredictable and touchy. I am reluctant to use them, for example, the speed control does not pickup the car in front of you until very late, scary! It also does not have pedestrians detection in front.
Last week, I gave my Honda Stunner in one of the service center (Vahini motors, Kollam, Kerala) to correct certain complaints in the engine. I bought my bike just 8 months back, but I got an engine complaint. As they said, I changed an engine part (gasket) but still there is an unwanted noise while accelerating. Also, they had not corrected the RPM meter. All the services, that is the first four services, were done correctly. Looking forward for your reply.
VSA warning light came on in my 2009 Honda Accord. Dealership said perfectly fine to drive, just a warning light. Next day I had to have my car towed to the dealer. They are telling me 4 timing teeth stripped off $980 and 4 bent valves which they can give me NO cost for except if they cant fix/replace the valves I am looking at $4000 for a new head. Mind you I have owned and perfectly maintained this car at the same dealer since brand new and the timing belt has 84000 miles now and its not recommended to change until 105000 miles. The dealer doesnt care and I started a case with American Honda and they care EVEN LESS... HONDA IS SUCH A DISAPPOINTMENT!!!
The steering on my Honda hybrid failed while driving 55mph. When the car was taken to dealer in Eugene, we were told Honda was aware of this problem but had not notified anyone. They refused to pay for repair because they said mileage over warranty - a warranty they never informed us about. Their explanation is that if you bring auto in with steering issue, then they would inform you of the issue. So in other words - your steering has to fail and perhaps almost get you killed, which is what happened here - before they let you know its a known issue. NEVER BUY HONDA AGAIN.
Extremely reliable. The car has had no breakdowns near home or while traveling cross country. It is fun to drive and has plenty of acceleration. There is also plenty of passenger room, the suspension seems durable and visually the car looks aerodynamic and cuts through the wind with little resistance and air turbulence.
I tried to ask for a roadside assistance for my 4 month old Honda Odyssey due to flat tire, they told me exactly its gonna be 60 mins or less because it requires to be towed, 60 mins gone by but no roadside assistance. No call to tell me that it got delayed, waited. I tried to call them and follow up but they told me its gonna be 28 more mins, this is really bad customer service, good thing its not winter or snowing or I wouldve been froze to death.
My tire was flat. I called Honda Roadside Assistance at 8:44 pm. They said they text me when arrived in one hour and half. Then I received a text at 9:06 that service come at 10:02. I was waiting in a restaurant on front and they never text me. I called again at 10:30 and never sent assistance. Called again at 11 and they sent assistance to be here at 12:52 am... and Im still waiting... Worse experience and they provide the service through AAA.
Im angry about the clear coat peeling off my car. This is not Normal wear and tear or all cars would have this problem! I park my car in the garage but the clear coat was still damaged. I believe that Honda should cover this defect!!!
My Honda Civic Car battery is getting drained out every month... Honda is not able to figure out the root cause behind it.
I am very pleased with my new Honda Clarity. I am still learning its features and sometimes feel stymied. The range is terrific, it charges in 2.5 hours and it handles very well.
Purchased a 2012 Honda Civic Sedan on Feb. 9th, 2012. Drove it for 2 days and my lower back started to hurt like crazy. I mean I could barely get off of my couch without being in excruciating pain! Called the dealer and he recommending by a lumbar support at Walgreens. Wow! Great fix! Apparently, they have a bad design and they tell you to buy a lumbar support. I looked on a Honda forum and there were several complaints about the civic seats. Spoke with the General Manager and the dealership is suppose to call me on Monday! Will see what they say! 28-32 MPG in town doesnt do anyone any good if you cant drive the car because the seats are so uncomfortable you cant bare the excruciating lower back pain!
I purchased a used car from Hendricks Honda Pompano beginning August 2018. I was looking for a used car, and I found a 2017 Infiniti QX60 that I liked. Jose (Jose **) in sales helped me, I went, I tried the car, and after some negotiation, we agree on the purchase. When in the negotiation process, I asked Jose several times if the car came with 2 set of keys for it and he said that yes the vehicle had two keys. The day I went to pick up the car, after asking for the keys Jose mentioned that the second key was in a locked place and he didnt have the key for that place so we will send me the second key on the mail. After requesting the key several times, finally Jose sent me a key in the mail, and when I tried it, it didnt work. I called Jose and mentioned what happened, and he promised to help me solve the problem. After several calls and texts, I have copies, that never happened. By the end of October, the car run out of battery and I needed a jump start, so I tried to open my SUV with the key with the physical key on the fob, and to my surprise, it didnt work. So the fob did work, but the physical key didnt. Of course, the second key sent by email neither. I called the dealership for some help, knowing that Jose will not help me since he never did. I was helped by Dmitry (Dmitry **), after recommending to change the batteries on the fob which I did, but didnt work, I explained that I didnt have access to my car, to open the hood for the jump start. Finally, he stated that I had to bring the car to the dealership to make the keys, and I reply to, HOW? If I cant access the inside of the car how can I take the car to the dealership? His answer: TOW IT! After a long conversation he hung up on me, and when I called him back he didnt answer my calls anymore, thats what I call customer service!!! Needing to work and desperate, I tried to call the General Manager or CEO of the company and left several messages, and he never answered back. I also called several times Jose my salesperson with the same luck. This happened on Friday, by Monday, and losing all those days of work, I called everybody again, and they transferred me to Manny (Emanuel **). Ohhh Myyyy, what an ignorant individual, impersonating a manager. After talking for more than 30 minutes, he never understood what the situation was, so I asked him for another manager, not knowing he was not, since he presented himself as a manager and not a sales associate. The phone call went to another voice message.Desperate at this point not knowing what to do, I talked again to the receptionist, Ariana and I beg her to transfer me with someone that would care. She was extremely professional and helpful, honestly trying to help me and she did since she transferred me to Richard (Richard **). This guy in less than 30 seconds understood and asked me to wait for a locksmith at my location. I wonder why Dmitry didnt offer this four days ago, but I was glad that someone at least was trying to help me.To make it short the locksmith came to my place, to make the physical key, I had no idea that with no original they can do that, he opened the car, then the hood and he jumpstarted the car, everything in less than 15 minutes. I was ecstatic, I was going to be able to work again, and I began to wonder why Dmitry asked me to tow the car to the dealership to make the keys when that was NOT necessary AT ALL! I showed the second key to the Locksmith that Jose sent by mail, and the stated that that key was never for my car, once paired it can not be changed, not the fob or the physical key and if I wanted another one I had to order one from scratch. To summarize Im not surprised Dmitry, Jose and Manny, still work in that company if we have in mind they have as General Manager, Mark **, who is a stranger to the concept of customer service. I still have to make the extra key that was promised at the purchase of the car more than four months ago. But at least Im happy I can use my car. Hope someone in Honda will address this issues since this is NOT the way to handle any situation or customer.
I dropped my Honda off for warranty repair work on August 22, 2019. The warranty company approved the work to be done on the same day. I called the service advisor Georgiann. She did not answer. I called to speak to a supervisor to see when will my car be ready. No answer. No callback. I called today, August 26, 2019 and Georgiann advised me that my car would be ready for pick up August 27, 2019. I did not receive a call. I called and was on hold with Melissa for 30 minutes. I drove up to the dealer and asked, Where is my car? and nobody knew where it was. It took 20 minutes for them to find it. Deante ** was very rude and uncaring, Scott ** the Manager did not move out of his seat to help. They both were uncaring and did not try to rectify the problem. My car was there for 5 days, they never ordered the parts and the manager, supervisor or advisor did not contact me to tell me what the status was. I have been buying cars from Motor Cars Honda for over 16 years and we have been getting our car service there for over 20 years and never have we received such poor service, uncaring and could care less about customer loyalty. Sincerely, A unhappy customer.
I called them several times. The pressure on the wand built up and my husband could not get it to release. They told us to take it to a repair shop. I told them it is a safety issue, if someone was around when that pressure released, it would hurt anyone close by and I did not want to load it and haul it for that reason. It was a commercial heavy duty washer, which we thought would last longer, it is about 3 yrs. old. It is used maybe twice a month, and just for personal use at home.Needless to say it is just sitting out our way so when it blows hopefully no one will get hurt. If they do, I told Dewalt they will be responsible as they have been told and chose to do nothing about it.
My 2018 Honda HR-V does what its designed to do: an economical, thrifty automobile. Ive had no problems after 4 months, although I do miss my previous 2007 Accords styling and performance.
My car is 8 years old and has no cosmetic or engine issues. It gets good gas mileage and is dependable. I enjoy driving my car. I like that it gets good mileage. I love that it is dependable.
Bunch of liars and misrepresentation. They try to switch representatives and their stories to drag on the situation. I have been a loyal Honda owner for many years. This will be my last Honda. We bought a brand new 2018 Honda Odyssey Elite. It has many many problems.
The car is great. Gets good gas, had nice interior performance, and the price was great for it being new. The inside is very comfortable and everything is in good reach of the driver by in the steering wheel. The car had a great safety rating, it has great resell values and the car is safe for my family as well. Have purchased Hondas before and they are very dependable cars with a good reputation. This is a car Ive been waiting to get it. This car holds its value. It also has airbags for both driver and passenger. The design is fresh and it has a awesome paint. Had Sirius radio and I can integrate my cell to connect with my sound system. The sound systems is Bose, has sunroof that I can open without having the sun directly on my head, the dimension of the size tires make for superior control in bad weather, comes with factory tinted windows, has high seats that are very comfortable and the car is able to seat 5 grown-ups. Love the car. The style is what I like in a mid-size vehicle. However, I have to take it to the dealer for certain tools to work on it.
I purchased a new 2020 Honda Talon from Nash Motorsport, Mesa, AZ. I purchased the pre-paid service contract and extended warranty. I live in Mesa, Arizona and the vehicle has been ridden in AZ and once in Southern CA. The vehicle has never been in snow, sand dunes or extensive mud. Most of the driving is typical to the Box Canyon area in AZ or Queen Valley; sand roads and routes. Very rarely has LOW gear ever been used except for a few steep hills. The transmission would not stay in gear during a hill climb and I turned it into Dealer for service immediately not to cause more damage in November. The vehicle is still there. The warranty customer support is horrible to deal with and no escalation process except open claim. They call you back with same answer. NO escalation process. Honda has out right lied and said the vehicle was driven in a way it was not and the damage was caused by switching back and forth between low and high. This is an out right lie.
My 2001 Honda Passport was less than 98,000 miles (**) and I always kept-up with the care and maintenance of my car. I did the timing belt on it by myself. Change oil and anything that my car needed, I would fix it myself. So the speed meter and the gas gauge stopped working, and I told my wife it looks like the car will need a computer. So June 12, 2012, I had South Motors Honda put in a new computer and that fixed the problems. We paid $901.97. April 15, 2012 they wrote it on their computer that the serpentine belt was next and needed a fix. The serpentine belt broke and they had it fixed ($829.04). May 24, 2012 my wife brought the car in because of a tiny oil leak, so they would need to keep the car for a week to replace the oil pan gasket. And on their computer, it never said we would need on the next repair a motor because the person that removed the oil to fix the oil leak (the oil pan gasket, they had to take it off and put a new one on) never added the oil back to the motor and we paid $744.04. So my wife had to pick up the car because I had to return the rental back. As I walk back to South Motors, my wife was so mad because now she hears what are a sound from inside of the motor and a sound of a knock. While they were gone, I opened the hood and checked the oil and nothing was touching the stick. As I close the hood, the tech came and drove our car in to his shop in the back, away from us; and they got mad because I needed to keep my eye on my car. So the tech adds 5 quarts of oil and drove it back around to the service advisor and he said ok, everything is fixed; and the tech fixed the oil leaks. As we started it out, the rods were knocking badly. The service advisor Allen did not write down on the computer at South Motors, like he did everything else, about the motor that’s next for repair. Allen said that after the car leaves South Motors, there is nothing that they can do and its not their problem if it needs a new motor. Allen did say the motor needs to be replaced but not by South Motors. They are not giving me a free motor. This came from Allen and the shop manager. The shop manager did say we spent a lot of money on my car and “Our techs dont let a car leave without any oil and it sounds like youre trying to get a free motor. That’s not going to happen.” I saw the oil stick and saw no oil; and on this specific item (remove the old oil pan gasket and add a new one), you have to drain the oil to fix this leak. You have to replace the oil back in the motor.I think they need to buy me a new motor or write me a check for $5,800 - end of story. You dont have to make this look bad, just mail me a check for $5800.Thanks to the internet for letting me post this. The bad thing is this South Motor Honda. When you do something bad to people, it comes back around. I have talked to a painter and we have talked about making a huge sign about South Motors Honda and write what a great job you do and how many have you scammed like me. We’ll write it in Spanish, too; so when my Honda Passport is parked at the mall, people can read it and find out the truth. Its going to be readable on both sides, so 1000s can read it. You can read it at the mall at school; even at red lights from behind, you can still read how great your scamming of people is. So we have gotten with DOT and DMV to see just what we can cover up; no lights and no tag can be covered, so this sign is where you can read it and be ok with the laws. If nothing else, we dont need signs; he can paint what we need to write it on the Passport.I dont see any other way out, other than paying the owner for his time waiting for his car not to get fixed and renting rental cars all paid out by him. He thinks you owe him a lot more than $5800. Look if he has the money to get these types of repair done and paying for them (and gets treated like this). This man has a family and works, and he thinks you’re giving him the short end of the stick. South Motors needs to stop this by paying him off before he starts, and he has flyers printed by the 1000s. I think you need to pay him with a car and $5800. That’s his car he took care of and he feels he trusted you and you did pooh on him. He trusted you to fix his computer on his car and he paid then it is something else. And then… Ok, money is coming. He is paying $600-$1000 to $1800-$2000. Let’s drain his oil out so we can get him to buy a brand new motor and tell the manager to side with whatever they have to say. Then after we do this, we can get him for more stuff. Look at what all he paid and walk around and laugh at how dumb he is. And just maybe, we play our cards right; we cannot add oil. At some point, we will get him again. He is mad now and we will get him again for being mad or making us do more work. Being a problem to us, we will teach our advisor using 4 letter words. Hey, its ok. We will have him eating out of the palm of our hands and have him come in for little stuff to have us fix on his Passport. So what happened is that the service advisor saw the serpentine belt was broken and needed to be replaced and added that the timing belt may need to be replaced. But he was so worked up about my fine wife that he did or would not hear me telling him this old boy had already put a new timing belt on. He was watching my wife walk around and asked her in a putting me down kind of way, and they would go ahead and change the timing belt. So, I got mad and showed my butt because I did all the work on that change and he would not let me talk or give me the time of the day - too busy looking and not learning about the problems that my car was having. They got mad after removing and finding out everything with the timing belt is brand new. Then, he wanted my wife to walk around and act as if he and she was cock of the walk and try to belittle me. My wife loves me and I trust her. She’s the type of person that reads a person for what theyre worth and she has stood in the heat for what is right, not sides or color or how big he wants to act. So this not putting oil in the car, this Allen guy being a jerk, and the manager buying and standing by Allen’s stories, the manager’s people do no harm and his techs do not leave cars without oil… I am a customer and I have a clue why they would belittle me and remove the oil from my car that’s paid for. I need a check for $5800. I dont trust them with a carton of eggs. They have burned me badly and I cant trust them to replace my motor with a new one that they can clean up junk and try to pass it off as a new motor. I can trust green bills in the amount of $5800. All the waiting with my baby and waiting for our car all day to get fixed was just a part of their games.
After many years of not owning or riding a motorcycle I recently purchased the Honda Rebel 500. I am more than pleased with the quality, innovation and affordability. Thanks Honda for your fantastic bike.
I had purchased a Honda City ZX (GXI) in July 2008 from Iciban (HONDA MH- 04 DN 7717). Needless to say, the reason I opted for Honda was the excellent quality, and the after sales service provided by Honda. However, I am afraid that the experience I have gained for the last one and half year has nothing to show whatever I had initially thought of.I have been having terrible engine noise problem, which was repeatedly reported to the service center in Pune (Crystal Honda) for the last one and half years. After inspection, they used to say that, there is no problem sir. Once I approached Honda 121, the problem was identified as engine problem, and that the engine as told to me is not good. Please, tell me what needs to be done here. I have been to suffering because of this problem.
On 23 December I was in an accident with my 2011 CRZ, a very luck buck jumped in my line of traffic. I actually have three complaints against Honda.1. As my vehicle was totally disabled, I called Honda Road Side Assistance. Because of the incompetence of the employee that took my call it took over one hour before a tow truck was dispatched. It is my understanding that service call does not originate in Alberta; that was a huge problem because of my location the gentleman on the phone refused to call a tow truck until he could find me on his map. I told him to just call a local tow truck company and they would know actually where I was. From the time I place the call until the tow truck came it was almost 2 hours.2. I phoned Sherwood Park Honda and asked to speak to a manager with regards to road side assistance. He said it was not his problem and I would have to wait to get a call from Road Side Assistance and I could log my complaint and promptly hung up--no customer service.3. This is the biggie for me. On January 12, 2012 I was informed by the company that was fixing my car that Honda Canada did not have the parts for my car and I could be waiting until possibility the end of February. I telephoned Honda customer service at 888 946 6329 and spoke to a Dennis and told him my problem. He said that he could not help me. If it were a warranty problem then that would be different. I informed that I did not think I had to ask the question, If my car is in accident, do you have the parts to fix it? because I assure I would not have purchased the car. He asked what company was fixing my car and put me on hold for 45 minutes so he could speak to the company that was fixing my car. He came back on line and told me that he had spoken to them and that they had all the parts but one and if would be next. I asked him again if Honda Canada could help and he very rudely told me no. I then told him I wanted to speak to his supervisor and he flatly refused and said it was his call and the answer was no. Funny thing the company fixing my car called the very next day and they never talked to Dennis. I am extremely with the after care I have received from Honda. I purchased this car because I thought they were a company I could trust. Apparently not. I can assure this will be my one and only Honda.
Honda Ridgeline - it is easy to get into. It works wonderfully as a car or truck, the back seat raises to allow access to a level floor, which is great for packages. This is the best vehicle that we could own as retirees.
I purchased my 2007 Fit in March of 2007 and have loved every drive in it. Since purchasing my car, Ive had 2 kids and we have taken this on every family trip and survived. After a while it has started to feel cramped, but we manage. Ive decided to upgrade to a better car, but I could drive this thousands more miles and not have an issue... It is a sound vehicle. Perfect for a young driver. That being said, a word of caution: this is a small car. If in a high volume trucking area or high traffic area, you need to be aware of cars around you, as they may not see you. Ive had 2 accidents where people ran into me bc they didnt see my parked car. So, if looking at cars for an inexperienced driver, you may want to look at something higher and/or longer.
After around 10,000 miles I noticed the chrome peeling on my 2013 Accord EXL. These were special ordered at a cost of $1600! The dealer replaced them, and now at 26,000 they are peeling again! Very cheap chrome plating job. Now the only alternative without any out of pocket expense is to downgrade to a standard stock wheel, if I want to steer away from the the obviously defective chrome like wheels I paid an exuberant price for. What a rip off!
I had purchased a CB Unicorn Bike No. DL9SAJ3056 on 31/Oct/2011. I have faced a major problem about picking it up from the first day. I told the service center manager about my problem. He serviced my bike many times, yet there is no result. The engineer has also come for my bike, but there is also no result. Now I am dissatisfied with the bike. Lastly, I decided to file a complaint in the official site of Honda. I want to replace my engine as soon as possible, please try to solve my problem.
Im complaining very much about Honda CB TWISTER bikes gear box since from 10 months. So Im kindly requesting to please solve out my problem by Honda near by my locality. Im waiting for your kind response.
I am having intermittent electrical and electronic issues with both of my 2017 Hondas. I use to think Honda was a smart purchase but at this point I would never buy another Honda and I will also include Acura as the electronics are likely similar. Really disappointed with these two cars, thank god I leased them. Can’t wait to send them back. The dealers seem like they are so overwhelmed with complaints they will say anything to make you go away. Well guess what? After the lease I have.
Honda S2000 - It’s a great little convertible that is not high maintenance, but Honda stopped making it. It hugs the road very well and maneuvers great on the road. Honda should definitely bring it back.
I was very frustrated. My new Honda City 1.5 S (purchased on 23.05.2011) was sent for a fourth preventive maintenance on 27.03.2012 on a check-all indicator, check aircon malfunction and check alarm triggered when the car locked at the dealer (Kah Motor’s job sheet **). After 6 weeks, I received a call on 08.05.2012 from my dealer that Honda reported there were four burnt spare parts (electrical boards) and were not under warranty claim! Then, I requested for an explanation on this warranty exclusion, but I still don’t have a reply till now! I need this matter to be investigated immediately.
2011 Honda Pilot - I was surprised to learn that my accelerator is controlled by a computer. Recently, the TP sensor was not working properly and the car had a mind of its own. I had no control over the car. The car took off ... power steering failed and brakes locked up. I was, thankfully, in my driveway. I cant believe this is not a warranty issue. Honda should replace my sensor for free. They just reset the sensor and charged me $126. I am trying to sell the car. I fear this will happen again soon. Please consider this situation.
I had given my Honda City car for service at Peninsular Honda, Calicut, but when I went to collect it, they told me that they have lost my car key. Though they promised to replace the key and lock system, they have not done it so far. Its completely their responsibility, and I didnt expect such service from a Honda showroom. Please do the required procedures.
I am a very frustrated owner of Honda Accord 2.0 VTi-L, Full Spec, VTEC with plate no **, registered in Penang, Malaysia. Ive been maintaining my vehicle in your service center namely KAH Motor located in Sungai Pinang, Penang, Malaysia. Six months back, I had complained about sounds from the bottom of my car bonnet. The service engineer helped to check, but could not find the root cause of the sound. Id sent my car for checking for 3 times during the past 6 months, no results. Finally, a month back they told me they found the cause. But, the spare parts need to be ordered from others. They said theyd filed a complaint to Honda HQ and the warranty claim has been approved, spare part should be arriving within 1st week of Apr.12. Sadly, they did not update me even after 15/4/12. When I called up, they said the spare part had not arrived and they do not know when it is arriving. What an irresponsible answer?! They didnt even bother to highlight my problem to their top management and get my case solved. After all, Ive been waiting for 6 months to confirm the root cause of the sounds. And now, another infinity date to wait for the repairs?! This is totally unacceptable! I am a heavy user of this vehicle and I need to be safe on the road. I need this to be resolved.
I took my Honda to a dealership to show them the paint coming off my car. They referred me to Honda C/S. I filed a claim and they told me someone would respond in two days. That was over a week ago. I talked to Mgr. Paul ** in Gainesville, FL and Im still waiting for an answer. The paint is stripping off the hood, roof & fenders. They are calling it Clearcoat. It is only 8 yrs old not 20 yrs old. This is unacceptable.
I purchased a 2011 Ridgeline and within the 5 years it has 30k miles and has been in the shop 20 times and still has to go in again. Problems from oil leaks to windows not working in the cold. Honda and the dealer wont step up and take responsibility for this lemon. The lemon law board in Vermont was the biggest waste of time ever. They wont let me show my evidence that this was a lemon. Makes me wonder who is paying them off. My first Ridgeline that was made in Canada was an unbelievable vehicle. This Ridgeline was made in Alabama. Typical USA quality. Ill never deal with Honda USA or auto master ever again.
I bought a Honda City, which have 4 alloy wheels but I was surprise to see that the 5th wheel, which was kept in the back was an ordinary wheel. I immediately contacted the sales people but they said they cant do anything, as this has been provided by the company. Just imagine, in case of puncture, you will be driving a car with 3 alloy wheels and one ordinary wheel, which will create serious imbalance to the car thus violating/compromising the safety standards of the car. I am sure that Honda does not do this in any developed country like the US, Japan or countries in Europe.
2015 Honda Accord - Corporate office does a terrible job responding. They sent me a survey regarding my experience with local dealership (which was very good). Unfortunately it took so long to finish the survey I abandoned it. I called regarding a question as to how to pair my iPhone, I got a recorded message that said press 1 if I want to leave a message. I pressed it five times and wasnt able to leave a message. Finally, like the experience mentioned in the above paragraph, I gave up. My question never answered.
I have the car for a year and I have not had one problem with it. I figured I would have a small problem living in a city with potholes. The undercarriage usually gets noisy. This is not the case with my car. I love it... I might name it BRAD.
I purchased a new 2009 Honda Accord Coupe, 4 cylinder, and after about 35,000 miles, I started experiencing excessive oil consumption. Oil is being lost at the rate of 1 qt. per 1,000 miles. I do not see any oil on my garage floor, so I can only assume it is burning it slowly. This is my second Accord, by the way, and I drive 25,000 miles per year, so I know darn well what the usage rate is. I went online to see if any other people had experienced this, and was surprised to find out that many other owners are having this problem, all across the US, in fact. The car was under warranty, so I called American Honda, and they told me to take it to a dealer, so that a diagnostic could be run, but they admitted that there was a recall for this problem. They said there was a software update, which should solve the problem. I was highly skeptical that software could fix it, but I played along. The next day, I took the car to Herb Chambers Honda in Burlington, MA for a diagnostic. They didnt see anything in the codes, and no visible signs of leakage. They did the software upgrade, and changed the oil, and told me to come back when (if) the oil level hit the low point on the dip stick. At about 2,700 miles, 1/27/12, the oil light came on today. I took the car back today, and they told me it had a little over 2 quarts of oil in it. It lost roughly 2 quarts per 1,000 miles. There was no change after the software upgrade at all. Actually, there was a change. My gas mileage went from high 20s to low 20s on the highway. They actually made the car worse. The dealer told me that 1 quart per 1,000 miles is normal for any car. I almost fell over, when they said that. In all my years of driving, including cars from the 60s and 70s, I have never seen a car come anywhere close to that. They actually thought I would buy that story. It is unbelievable! So, I called American Honda, to speak with the case manager that had been assigned to my case, and was expecting him to be all apologetic, and say that they would resolve the problem. Not a chance! He used the same line the dealer did, with the 1 qt. per 1,000 miles being normal usage. I was outraged! I just couldnt believe it. A multiple car Honda owner, and they didnt care the slightest about me, or their product. They could have made a customer for life by fixing it, but instead, they made an enemy for life. Now, Im stuck with a 2 year old piece of junk, and have no choice but to trade it in. Ill never buy another product from Honda, ever again, and I will be sure tell my story to everyone I come in contact with.
I have owned many motorcycles since my first in college but I keep going back to Honda. My most recent is the Shadow Sabre and I am very pleased with it. While there are a great deal of motorcycles out there with as good looks and features as my Honda not many that are as reliable. I have been problem-free with all of my Honda bikes over the last 25 years and will stick with them.
I just leased a 2016 Honda Civic LX (Cosmic Metallic Blue) in November of 2016. I did not realize what a bad paint job this car had until the first snowfall. Fast forward to around January when the first snow fell in NYC, I drove to the nearest Walgreens to purchase a couple of things and the bright lights of the parking lot exposed at least 20-30 scratches ALL over the hood. Then with the next snowfall, more scratches on the roof of the car, the trunk and the side doors! This has NEVER happened to any of the cars Id previously owned, both new and pre-owned. Before this Civic, I had a 2013 Honda Accord that did not have this problem AT ALL throughout the duration of my lease. I REALLY wanted to like this Civic because of its new look but now with the amount of scratches on the car, it doesnt even look like I bought it 0 miles off the lot. I went back to the dealership (Millennium Honda in Hempstead, NY) to see if they could do anything for me, but of course, they refused any service, not taking blame for this botched paint job. All they offered was something to benefit them which is to trade in this 2016 Civic for another 2017 Civic with $4,000 up front. WHY would I do that when the paint job is just bad and NOT my fault at all. I really dont know what else to do with this car and would appreciate if Honda took responsibility for this failed paint job. I took it to a shop and the guy said that the paint on my car was SUPER THIN and thats why it came off so easily. Im pretty sure I got a car with a defective paint job. All Im asking is for Honda to step up and take responsibility for it, and theyll have a life-long customer; if not, the next car I finance or lease will NOT be with Honda.
Probably the worst I will ever own. It was a 2019 EX-L. Infotainment issues were horrible, very buggy system. Dealership (Brandon Honda) told me it was a known issue and they couldnt fix it. One of the managers told me it was a Honda problem and not theirs. Awesome. Doors never worked right, trapping people inside. Transmission hesitated and jerked like crazy. A very poorly engineered vehicle. I traded it in and got an Accord Sport 2.0T...Cant believe that the same company could do things so differently with their products.
The Honda Jazz is extremely comfortable and easy to drive. Some of its features are very good for example the warning if you cross the lane marking. It is very useful that the forward facing camera picks up the speed limit signs and shows them for you. I also like the reversing camera which together with the wing mirrors makes backing up a pleasure.
We have a 2010 Honda Odyssey with less than 60,000 miles on it. For the first few years, we had our servicing on the vehicle done at the local Honda dealer. After a few years spending several hours at each visit, we were told by multiple people in our small town about a local mechanic in town who is honest and fair. We switched to this mechanic to support local businesses and it is much more convenient and way less expensive. At our last check up for the car, the mechanic found a leak in the steering rack. It is quite a pricey item to fix and the mechanic stated that a car with our age/mileage should not be experiencing this issue and suggested we call Honda to see if they would do right by us. We promptly called Honda and were instructed to contact our local Honda dealer, have the car inspected and call them back. Apparently, there is a warranty extension on the steering pump (not the steering rack). When we called the dealer, we were informed that they would charge $134 to inspect the vehicle and if it was the steering pump, we would get our money back. Otherwise, it is $134 out of our pocket. As we attempted to make an appointment, the gentleman we spoke with took no information, didnt give us a time and actually laughed (this was from Joyce Honda in Denville, NJ). We called Honda customer service back and asked to have the $134 waived as we were certain that the problem was with the rack, not the pump, and since we are looking at a costly repair, we arent willing to waste an additional $134. We were told that all dealers are independently owned and the fee cant be waived. We were also told that they cant help us without having one of their independently owned dealers see the car. They also instructed us that after paying the $134, our case would go to a group who would look at our loyalty to Honda; how often we used their dealers to service our cars and how often we have bought a Honda. Our issue is this; clearly there is a faulty part here and yet Honda is not willing to fix the issue easily. We arent willing to front any cost here especially since we arent confident we are loyal customers since we have our servicing done elsewhere. This is our second and we have to say LAST Honda that we will ever own. Our local mechanic will get our business and we are confident he will fix the problem and all will be well, however, we should not have to cover the cost of a faulty part. Very wrong.
I was a passenger in my sister’s ‘08 Honda Civic and we were struck in right rear of car by another pickup truck. The side curtain deployed and shattered and done damage to the side of my face, head, right arm, elbow and right eye.
Purchased a 2018 MDX Acura from Radley Motors, Baileys Crossroads, VA. Water leaked into the new vehicle for an unspecified time from the passenger seat window when it rained. Misaligned door from manufacturer. Honda & dealer being sued. You cannot repair water that has been entering a vehicle for an unspecified amount of time. Will impact the electrical system. Honda & the dealer are fighting this claim and has not been responsive. The vehicle is at the dealership & car payments are being made. Honda admitted the misaligned door. Dealer delivered a new car to purchasers that leaked.
I purchased a 2019 NEW Honda HRV Touring in January 2019. I returned it the same day because the backup camera screen and voice commands were not working properly. The main touchscreen unit was replaced. Since January, the screen has been replaced again (total of 3 units), the microphone, and the Hands Free Link module have all been replaced within 10 months. After 30 days total at the dealership for repairs and four attempts I opened a claim with Honda for the Buy Back Program. Now after an additional two trips to the dealership to diagnose my vehicles problem including a diagnosis by the Field Service engineer, my claim has been denied. My vehicle still has the exact same problems that it had on the day I bought it.I was told by Honda that there was a well known software problem with my car. Honda was aware and working on a fix. My claim rep could not give me a estimated date for the fix (told me to check every month at the dealership to see if the fix was available) and she could not guarantee the fix would fix my car. She could not give me a reason why the dealership didnt know about the known problem and her answer for why parts were being replaced was that it was simply done as a courtesy to me. Yet, as a courtesy Honda would not buy back my car. The claim rep would not give me a written denial. She stated, It is Hondas policy to not provide any information in writing about your claim, only to give you the claim number. On the SAME day I was being told all of the information from the Honda claim rep the FSE told the dealership that the problem was a frayed USB cord he saw laying in my car. Not plugged in, not in use, just laying in the car. His suggestion was to not use the cord and see how things go. I have never had an issue with Apple Carplay not working. What I have repeated had problems with is not even an option when the cord is in use. The dealership duplicated the problem without any cords being plugged in. Now I have a 10 month old car that has options I am paying for, but do not work. The options may never work. I guarantee this. I will NEVER buy another Honda vehicle. I will never recommend Honda vehicles. I hope this review helps someone decide NOT to purchase a Honda.
I am the original owner of a 2013 Honda Accord EX-L. This car has never had service anywhere other than Honda dealership. Even oil changes. A few weeks ago I took it to have oil change and the recall on the battery sensor. When I got into car prior to service it would not start. The dealership told me that because the battery was involved it would do that. The problem progressively got worse until actually would not start. I took back to dealership and they told me it would cost $700.00 to replace the starter. The car has around 50 K miles on it. After I googled the issue with the recall and bad starter it seems that many other Honda owners are having this problem. I called Honda and the rep said that she has heard of this happening and was surprised but her supervisor stated that it was unrelated to the recall and will do nothing about it. I will never buy another Honda again!!! Very disappointed.
I purchased a used Honda vehicle, 2014 model, in great condition. After paying 19K for this vehicle, after the first month of owning this vehicle the paint start peeling off the trunk door (Honda Odyssey), and around the door frames. After doing some research I found out that there was a defect with the paint used on Honda Odysseys for the year of my vehicle. Honda knew about this defect and so extended their warranty for 7 years, great. However, for those of us purchasing a vehicle used because we cant afford to purchase new, we dont find out about FACTORY DEFECTS until after the crap hits the fan. I called Hondas customer service line and was rejected, I asked to be sent to mediation. They told me I would hear back in 3-5 days but after a month I heard nothing. I called back, they told me I would hear back by the end of the day, nothing again. I called the following day and was told Id hear back, nothing AGAIN. Another week goes by and I call AGAIN, and finally reach somebody who tells me that I made the choice to buy used and out of warranty so Im out of luck, despite the now compromised frame and body of my vehicle, and the structural damage that will occur (hello safety concern when the frame of my vehicle rusts to ** because of a defect Honda knows about but doesnt care to handle). This customer service experience has been HORRIBLE, and what makes it worse is the Honda KNOWS they produced and mass sold a vehicle with faulty paint, and its those of us who have to purchased used, not able to afford new, who have to incur the further financial hit to try to fix this issue. Just over one month I had this car, meticulously taken care of, mint condition, not owner neglect, but rather Honda neglect, and this multimillion-dollar company refuses to fix the problem they created. Good one.
I bought a 2017 CRV EX. We installed our car seat in the middle back row of the car. The car seat belt buckle and passenger belt buckle were switched, making it unsafe and difficult for the passenger to put on their seat belt. This is surprising to me because I dont think this is a small mistake. Its a safety issue. I called the dealer, Ralph Schomp Honda in Highlands Ranch, where we bought the car, and I was advised to bring it in for a half day inspection. This is already a hassle, to add to that, the dealer also charges $22/day for a loaner car. I feel like I am being hassled for a big mistake that Honda has made. This just doesnt feel right. This is a brand new 2017 car.I called America Honda and I was told that no one has complained about this. I Googled it and there are others that have complained about this situation. America Honda advised me to bring it into the dealership. Overall, I love the car but I am very disappointed about this big safety mistake from Honda and they are not being proactive to fix the issue. I called American Honda several times and they told me that they cant fix the issue at this time and have done everything according to federal safety regulations. I am very disappointed with American Honda.
My 2004 Honda CRV-EX air conditioner stopped working suddenly. It worked well one day and blew hot air the next. I went to Go-Honda Dealer in Westminster, Co. They said that I need a whole new air conditioner system, which costs around $3,000.00. The compressor goes out and send metals to the lines and contaminates the whole system. This is a complaint from a lot of Honda CRV owners. Even the dealership said that they see this a lot of times. I also saw numerous complaints on websites.
My family and I have owned several Hondas. I have only had minor issues with my Honda. I have never had to put a lot of money in it to fix it. These cars just seem to last a lot of years and miles. Ive had other vehicles that didnt last as long as my Hondas. In all they are very good vehicles.
This is my 3rd Honda minivan and will be my last, since Honda doesnt want to stand behind their paint job on my van that is peeling in multiple areas. I was told by general manager at a Honda dealership to file a claim on it. I called, filed a claim. They gave me a case number. Had me take it to local Honda dealer to have it inspected. The case manager from Honda called me after about 2 weeks and told me the cost to repaint my whole van is $2,319.42 and I would have to pay $1700 of it since Im out of warranty he said. I told him I wasnt out of warranty. When I called the man told me I was still under warranty. This case manager wanted to argue with me saying what I was told was wrong.I just read an article on Consumer Reports that Honda extended their paint warranty to 7 years and unlimited mileage. My van was bought new 2014 and its only 4 years old with 95k miles. I even have a body shop who fixed my tailgate under the care plan I bought additionally but they said when they went to fix the tailgate from the peeling paint it was so bad the paint came off in strips and that paint didnt adhere to the primer if any primer was even put on it. But the van is also peeling now in additional areas and Honda thinks I should have to pay $1700.I told the caseworker if Honda had did the paint job the right way the first time I wouldnt be having this problem, I said I would be willing to split the cost to paint the whole van but will not pay most of it. This was last week. The case manager said he would relay my response and I havent heard back from them. I have had a total of 5 minivans: 3 Hondas, 1 Nissan Quest and 1 Chrysler Town and Country and this 2014 Honda van is the only one I have ever had paint peeling off of it.
I am driving a HONDA MOBILIO Car in INDIA which was bought by me in April 2015. On 03/12/2015 while travelling from Ernakulam to Kollam on official trip along with 3 other colleagues, halfway thru the right side quarter panel glass (glass pcs between back door and the dicky door) automatically shattered. When we checked with the service centres they said they have never come across such instance before and this can be claimed only under insurance. We are not ready to accept this. This should be a product defect since there was no other reason we could see. Has anybody else faced such a issue?
Problems with my Honda 2007 V6 just after about 33,000 miles - I am being asked to carry the following: Brake Fluid, Power Steering Fluid, Oil Drain Plug, Front lower control arms bushing, 4 wheel alignment and induction service. All this will cost $1,255. Only yesterday, I paid $733.99 for my service and brake pads, etc.
While driving my car on I-10, both the passenger side curtain airbag and seat airbag deployed with no warning or reason! When I got home, I wanted to contact Honda; but a lawyer friend warned me to do my research first! I found several online complaints about the same issue. In each case, Honda claimed they must have run something over that caused airbags to deploy. In each case, driver was sure they didnt; but Honda refused to fix the car, and insurance also refused. I took proper steps to protect myself; and sure enough, Honda gave me the same response. I can’t believe nothing is being done about this! It is unfair and very dangerous to all drivers on the road! If you are considering buying a Honda, I would strongly suggest considering another make that is safer and from another car company that takes responsibility for their mistakes.
I own a 2011 Honda Accord of which I bought brand new in May of this year. Within three days of buying, I turned on the A/C and it wouldnt work. I took it in and they said that it wasnt plugged in from the factory. The funny thing is that I had the checklist from the factory and the A/C was signed off as working. Hmm! The second incident was when the car had about 3,000 miles and the check engine light came on. I took it in and they said that my O2 sensor was bad and they needed to replace it. Upon switching out the O2 sensor, they realized that the VTEC solenoid had a leak and it was leaking oil over the O2 sensors destroying it. They then replaced them both.My Honda now has about 10,000 miles and the A/C quit working again within the past two weeks. I took it in today and they told me that a small rock must have flown through my grill puncturing my A/C condenser and all of the freon leaked out. Now, I need multiple parts replaced. The cost is about $960 and it is not covered by the warranty. The serviceman told my husband that he sees this happening a lot. It is so frustrating to purchase a Honda that is supposed to be one of the most reliable cars and it is constantly failing. I am afraid to pay the grand to fix it only to have it possibly happen again. I think that I have counted eight times that it has been in/out of the shop to either be assessed or fixed. I am so done with Hondas!
I have a 2014 CRV. Side panels on both driver and passenger side have faded quite a bit, 2 buttons on radio do not work. (We hardly use radio). Back seat does not go down all the way. I have only had seat opened up twice to vacuum and now it does not go back down all the way unless you are sitting on it. Lastly the trunk does not open. It works on and off once every 2 weeks I can unlock and open, every other time I have to throw things in trunk through back seat. These things are definitely not from wear and tear, have never had issues like this in any other car I have owned. Of course I was told through dealership that all of the above is only covered in first 3 years.
I recently used the Honda roadside service and wanted to file a complaint. The driver was extremely unprofessional and gives Honda a negative reputation. The driver picked up my vehicle and me. He then proceeds to carry out personal errands while a customer is in the vehicle with him. This included picking up his two kids from summer school and having them sit in the front seat with me and himself and then waiting at his home for his wife to show up and look after them while I am in the tow truck. We finally left for the destination one hour and a half later. I am absolutely appalled by the lack of professionalism from the autoshop and especially from Honda for working with this shop and will be following up on this. Disgusting service from this company.
Honda Customer Service is extremely disappointing. Items offered/described on their website imply suitability for all--not true. Example: Website describes Backup Sensors as Help yourself in or out of a tight spot while helping to protect your paint; Four Sensors emit audible beeps into the cabin while you back up, signaling objects as you approach them. Beeps quicken as your vehicle gets closer to objects. Note: Back-up sensor attachment is required for installation. ** Polished Metal Metallic; MSRP: $265.32. On the purchase of a 2011 CR-V, we had backup sensors installed for $857. Turns out that the emitted beeps are very high-frequency which my husband cannot hear. (According to The National Institute of Health (NIH) 15 percent (26 million) of Americans between the ages of 20-69 cannot hear high pitched tones because of military service (in my husbands case dating back to 1965), etc. ) We would not have requested this safety feature installed on our new CR-V, the third new Honda my husband has purchased since 1997, unless we considered it important. We are a retired couple on a fixed income, and we think long and hard prior to spending this amount of money on discretionary items. Honda personnel with whom we have dealt offered us one option--go to an after market auto shop and see if they could rig up flashing lights to supplement the (inaudible) sound. Are they serious? In backing up, we have to look forward to see flashing lights!!! What about the sides of the vehicles where the backup sensors are supposed to ensure protection?
Purchased a new Honda HRV. Vehicle continuously would not start for no reason leading me stranded. Vehicle had to be towed to the dealership multiple times and all they could tell me was it had to happen with them. Battery was never the issue. Honda replaced the battery and still same issue over and over again. Had to trade the car with less than 32,000 miles on it as I could not get the issue resolved and car was nothing but a nightmare with this issue.
I just received my 2018 Honda Accord a week ago, drove the car 300 miles and transmission needs to be replaced. Honda corporate wont give me a new car and gave me a bunch of lame excuses. I paid $35000 for a brand new car and dont want a car that is already messed up! Local dealership agrees with me but they are not the decision makers but I have been told by others that the dealership could make this decision and do the right thing for the customer. This is my second Honda car but will certainly be the last one! I will take to every social media site possible to express my extreme displeasure as well as the local TV stations.
My wife and I, along with our grandchildren, were placed in a very life threatening situation on several occasions with vehicle stalling in heavy high-speed traffic. The ignition switch failed, but turned out to be a very expensive diagnosis and repair, $2,350.19 to be exact. When I found out there had been a recall, I contacted Honda for reimbursement, but to no avail. They mailed me a check for the cost of the switch. No letter of explanation as to why they refused to not pay for the total repair bill. I find this to be very appalling for a company not to respond to a customers complaint of a safety recall.
When I brake, especially going downhill, the steering wheel starts to shake. I have driven the car for only 21,000 miles - Accord 2012. Also, the driving seat is very uncomfortable. At times, when its summer, the AC smells like something is rotten. Is there something that Honda can do to replace or fix these problems?
I purchased two cars over the last 6 months, and 5 in the last few years. Not to mention all the people I have sent to Dublin Honda over the last 10 years. I have never been so resentful and betrayed after my last purchase at Dublin Honda, Dublin CA. I trusted them, which of course was my first mistake and my second was not taking care of this immediately. But over the last few months Ive lost my dad. My dog who is only 2 was diagnosed with congenital kidney failure. She is an English Bulldog and the breeder is facing 10 yrs in prison. Ive had to be out of town often lately and in fact the night I purchased this Acura I was leaving town for 3 wks so I purchased at night, then very early the next morning I simply parked it at the airport and didnt have a chance to really view all the things wrong until later. I contacted Steve ** whom is the GM and in charge of the dealership. He gave me the impression that he was going to work with me, and help me to resolve the issues I have with the car I was sold. But upon meeting with him (He told his employees he had to leave for an ER) however when I saw him he indicated he was just about to leave. I told him everything I was concerned about and he said there was nothing he could do. He asked me why I traded in the brand new 2015 Honda Civic I purchased a month before!!! Why is this relevant??? I had the car inspected and it has been found to have so many issues. I couldnt get 14k for the car two months after I purchased it. I spent 20k in CASH. I was told the car had one owner, was in mint condition and so on. The tires are the cheapest worst rated tires on the market, definitely not made for an Acura. The floor has large holes where something has rusted/eaten away at the carpet and left holes. The windshield has a crack. I was given only one broken key, no floor-mats. There are scratches all over that have been painted with a paint pen, dents on quarter panel, front under license plate, frayed leather seats, scratched rims. (ONLY A 4 CYLINDER) I was told it was a V6. I will forward pictures of all the damage and also know I contacted the salesperson a few days after I purchased and told him about the scratches and dents. I think the worst part of this entire situation is how badly Steve ** has treated me. This is after 10 yrs of loyal dedication to the dealership. He didnt even try to work on fixing any of these issues. In very good condition this car isnt worth 14k!!!
I have had two Accords, love them. No problem with them. Also, owned an Altima, has problem with the front strut. I am getting a new car and I would LOVE to get a new Accord; however, I am waiting for the 201 Nissan Altima because I live in a state that snows and the Altima will be offered with AWD. Honda quit keeping the AWD for Acuras, put them in the Accord and I bet you increase your sales. And yes, AWD is superior to FWD in the snow and ice.
Actually, this is the worst ever place to purchase your car, I would like to share my experience about old bridge Honda Rt 9 NJ, I purchased my Pilot 2020 EXL with a problem in the windshield and when I realized, that issue within 48 hours I called the Honda dealer, and they asked me to go back for check, when I went back for checking with the Sales manager Jason **, he wasn’t professional at all and he asked me to wait, then another person came out which is Peter ** and he came to us while eating an ice cream, which is unrespectful way to treated your customers. Me and my wife was surprised from that attitude of Honda Old Bridge.I left the dealer with 2 recall on my new 48 hours Pilot 2020 and no one even care, at the end Peter he still eating his ice cream and told me, Just leave your address and we will get someone to you tomorrow, for fixing my windshield, however on my way back to home, Jason ** called me and said, Forget about it
If theres a prize for worst customer service it would be exclusively reserved to Honda Canada, they wont even bother investigating your complaint, never give a feedback, never care for a frustrated customer.
I would highly advise against ever purchasing a Honda vehicle as they have very sketchy lease turn in practices. My husband (a former Honda technician) and I turned in our 2 vehicles with the intent of purchasing 2 new Hondas, however they did not have any good deals going on so we chose to go with another brand. A month after turning our vehicles in we received a letter stating we owe close to 400 dollars for what I would consider to be normal wear and tear on my husbands vehicle (one small dent on one of the doors, a small tear in the floor under the accelerator and a small crack in the windshield which had just been replaced a few month prior, and had they told us this we could have gotten it fixed free through our insurance.) Our person who sold us our new vehicles told us they are pissed because we didnt purchase Hondas again, oh well we would have if they were more willing to make a deal!Apparently on their website somewhere it says in fine print that before turning your vehicle in you can have your own inspection done. Who in their right mind would think to go looking for something like this, or even think that they would need to do this. Our vehicles sat on the lot where they were turned in for 11 days before they were inspected by someone from Honda, we did not turn them in with a crack in the windshield and dent in the door so this obviously happened while in their possession.Following a few letters from an attorney on our behalf acknowledging that we are willing to pay to replace the carpet (even though I feel it is normal wear and tear) but we feel the other things are not our responsibility, Honda sent the matter to a collection agency without even trying to remedy the situation. Honda did not even reach out to discuss this matter with us, they just dismissed it completely showing they dont really care about their customers being happy. Had this have been resolved in a better manner, in 3 years when our leases are up if they had good deals going on we would have gone back to Honda, however now we will NEVER purchase a Honda vehicle again. I will also advise anyone we know who is thinking about purchasing a Honda vehicle not to for the rest of my life!
We called for roadside assistance due to a flat tire. We called at 7:00 pm. We were told 40 minutes. After 40 minutes we were told 15 minutes more. After 15 minutes we were told 25 more minutes. We complained to the call center after each delay. Finally they told us a new service would come in an hour!!! We were very upset. After another half hour both services showed up. It was an awful experience!
