Honda Automobile Troubleshooting

If you're looking for help fixing your Honda Automobile, look no further! Our comprehensive Honda Automobile Troubleshooting guide will explain common issues, provide tips, and show you how to read your model's error codes.

Your Honda Has Trouble Starting
If you're having difficulty starting your Honda, consider trying the following car engine troubleshooting tips:
• If you stopped the car with the steering wheel turned, you may be unable to turn the key in the ignition. While turning the key, pull hard on the steering wheel to straighten the car's wheels.
• Check the battery connections. Make sure the terminals are clean and dry and that the battery is properly installed.
• If the engine turns over but there is a jerking feeling, you may be low on fuel. Check the fuel gauge and add fuel as needed.

Your Honda Has Problems with Power Windows
If you are having difficulty raising or lowering your power windows, try one of these tips:
• Check to make sure the window lock is not on. This button is available on some models, and it prevents passengers from controlling the power windows.
• Check the fuses for your power windows. You can find a fuse diagram in the owner's manual, along with instructions for changing fuses.
• Consult an auto mechanic about other power window issues with your Honda. These issues may include a faulty power window motor.

Your Honda's Windshield Wipers Don't Work
If you're having problems with your windshield wipers not working, you aren't alone. This is usually a minor issue and happens somewhat frequently. Try these steps to troubleshoot the problem:
• Try all settings for the wiper to make sure the problem isn't with a specific wiper speed or setting. Determine if both wipers are affected.
• Take the casing off the wiper arm on the outside of the car. Examine the place where the wiper arm connects to the wiper motor. If you see any broken or disconnected areas, reconnect them.
• If you are unable to easily reattach the arm of the wiper, take your car to a mechanic. Your wipers are an important part of your car's safety equipment.

Other Accord Issues
For the following Honda issues, you should take your car to a mechanic right away if you are not experienced in do-it-yourself auto repair:
• Check engine light is illuminated
• Fluid is leaking under your car
• You hear unusual sounds or feel strange vibrations
• You have problems steering your car
• Your brakes feel spongy or different than usual

General Items to Check
Since low oil can have a disastrous effect on your car's engine, you'll need to check that level even more often. Following the guidelines below of items to check (but not necessarily change), you can rest assured that you have all of your bases covered:
• Check the engine oil and coolant levels every time you fill the fuel tank.
• Check the transmission and brake fluid levels about once a month.
• Check your tire pressure every month, since the pressure inside the tire can change when the air temperature outside the car changes.
• Every month, check to make sure all of your lights are working properly.

I bought a new car Honda HR-V 2018 at Honda auto plaza mall (Nostrand avenue in Brooklyn). I dont know that is going on but this car has been giving me so much problem. This car stopped with me in the middle of road. Sometime the steering wheel just locked when I am driving and the dash just went black. I brought it to Honda but nothing got done cause it is still giving me the same problem. They want me to keep driving it like that cause they cannot figure out the issue. I left the car with them until they can fix it. If you love yourself and your family do not buy this car. I cannot keep risking my life and the life of my family driving that car. I could understand if I bought a used car but I bought a new car. Hope this review will help you in your decision. Please see video.

I purchased a 2018 Honda Civic Hatchback in November of 2017. Navigation system has not worked correctly from the beginning and other electronic problems have arisen since. I gave them 8 attempts to fix it, with my car being in the shop a total of 67 days. I started the lemon law process and after the final attempt didnt work, I requested them to buy it back. They sent me a letter declining to do so because they tried to fix it in good faith. They offered me a one time $1500 cash settlement for my time and to keep me a happy customer.I refused and filed with the state for an arbitration hearing. At the hearing, they tried to say EVERYTHING I did could have caused my problems- had to replace my window from a rock and that new window might be causing an interference, using a Bluetooth headpiece separate from the car might cause an interference, having my phone in the car might be causing an interference, using music on a usb drive could have corrupted files and cause an issue. It was horrible. The arbitrator sided on my side and they were told how much they had to pay me back. They sent me a letter stating in order to repurchase it back, they needed several items of information. I faxed all the information requested over the same day. A week later, I get another letter requesting one piece of the information to be sent again like I hadnt already sent it. I overnighted the entire packet to them again. Then, I get a letter saying they are happy to comply and someone would be in touch, but when I dropped off the car, I owed THEM more than $6000 from prior debt I had. I refused and a gentleman called me to explain why, which made no sense. Then the very next day, I get another letter stating that was in fact exactly how much I owed them and I needed to contact the state if I had any further questions concerning it. The state rep said she even chuckled at that one because there was no way they were going to tell me that was correct since it wasnt what the arbitrator decided. During this time, I left a total of 4 voicemails for the Honda representative, and two emails. None of these messages were ever returned. Last week, I FINALLY received a letter stating they were going to comply with the request at the stated amount and someone would be in touch. The very next day on Friday, I was in meetings for a total of 4 hours. During that time, I missed 1 call from Hondas repurchasing vendor about scheduling a time on Monday to return the car. I called her back when I got home, and we scheduled for Monday. She verified everything I would need to bring and I asked if I would be receiving my check at this time. She stated there was no check included in my packet. I told her I did not trust honda enough to give back the car without them complying with ALL the decision. The next morning, I get a call from the same rep saying she has the check as it was overnighted to her for me. The same day, I get a nastygram in the mail from Honda stating they had tried to call me, and sent a letter and had proof that I had received it (the same letter I received that stated someone would be in touch regarding scheduling). The letter continued to state that honda had performed its due diligence in meeting the terms of compliance, but my participation was critical and they were requesting me to extend my full participation in this matter in order to complete the process. (All this because I didnt respond to 1 phone call until 4 hours later, when they have never responded to any of my contact attempts.) The car is scheduled to be picked up tomorrow and I cant get rid of it fast enough. The local dealership has been wonderful (surprisingly for a dealership) and I originally thought about getting another honda because of this reason, but my experience with the actual company has made me swear off Honda for the rest of my life. This was my first and last one and I will take EVERY opportunity to post copies of these stupid letters for others to be aware what this company is really like. I will be posting reviews anywhere possible to warn people NOT to buy a Honda for any reason! Any company that treats its customers with such disrespect is worthless.

I recently took my 2012 Fit into the Honda dealership as the air conditioning wasnt working and it was making a hissing noise. It turns out that there is corrosion between the compressor and the hose that connects to it. It will cost me over $1,000 to repair. How does a 4 year old car that is kept in a garage at home and in covered parking in the day get corrosion under the hood? One of the reasons I bought a new car at the time of purchase was so I would not have costly repairs anytime soon. Now I am looking at a $1,000 repair for something that in my opinion shouldnt happen in a car of this age.

I came for oil change and tire rotation on 9/23. After the services were performed, as soon as I went out, the check tire symbol came on my dashboard. This morning, I came to the dealer again and they took the van. After an hour, they said they fixed it. After riding 2-3 miles again, the check tires symbol came up. I again drove back to the dealer and they said the tire has to be replaced now. There was absolutely no problem with my van when I came yesterday for oil change and tire rotation. If there was a problem, they should have caught the problem on my 2 visits (within 7 hours). If I have to come 3 times in a span of 18 hours to a Honda dealer, what quality of service the dealer is providing?

There has been a recall on the Honda Insight. I had my car repaired before the recall happened. They have offered to reimburse after the recall happened. I sent in all the forms needed to make this happen. I have spoken to Luis at customer service many times. They are now asking for the receipts of the actual parts bought by the garage that fixed my car. That garage is asking for a $75 fee to do this. Honda does not want to pay it. I do not want to spend any more money on this. The repairs are a good $500 less than what Honda quoted to fix it. I feel they are doing this to drag it out. In hopes that I will not pursue the refund. I am disappointed that I have been given the runaround. This is a defect on the car which I had fixed for less than what they would have paid. They should pay the $75 fee to get receipts.

Leasing 2014 Honda Accord Sport. Less than 36 mos, under 17K miles and the paint is peeling around the rear window. Honda says that is NOT covered under their warranty. Honda has a long history of paint peeling all over their cars and, actually, had a class action suit against them for earlier cars (up to 2013, figures). Paint should not be peeling like this.

I purchased a brand new 2010 Honda Accord from Elk Grove Honda last year. Recently I heard a grinding noise just before I started the engine. I took my car to Elk Grove Honda for repair and was told they already knew a lot of Honda Accords have this problem. They will not repair it as this is how the Honda engineers design it and I should turn my ignition key very fast in order to ignore this noise. I did some research and found out this problem is caused by the bad VTC actuator in many of the Honda Accord model. The Elk Grove Honda still refused to repair my defective car even it is still under warranty.

I bought a brand new Honda Accord SE in July 2002. At 38000 miles, the transmission leaked fluid. The warranty covers only $36,000. After I talked to the manager of the dealership (transmission should last for only 38,000 miles), I paid 500.00 labor fee to install a re-manufactured transmission. At 71,000, the transmission failed again. I got a free replacement from the dealer. Now at 120,000, the transmission was repaired, but it failed again. One Honda with four transmission! What kind of cars Honda is providing to the consumers? Does Honda know anything about Six Sigma quality standard? By Six Sigma, there are supposedly no more than 4 bad cars for every 1,000,000 cars. I am completely disappointed in the quality of Honda Accord cars.

I went to a Honda dealer local in Jefferson City, MO on Monday, April 29th, in the evening to look at new Honda Accords. We could not come up with an agreement for $16,000 that was offered for my 2012 Accord from a local Kia car dealer. I asked for the keys to my used 2012 Accord back from the used car manager. He refused to hand the keys back over to me. At this point, I was very loud and demanded my keys back stating I could not deal with him on a new 2013 new Accord and wanted to leave. He asked me to sit down. I refused then he kept badgering me till I finally signed paperwork on a new 2013 Accord. By this time, 8:45 pm, almost an hour after the dealership already closed, I signed paperwork for a new car. I did not even drive the new car off the lot of the dealership. I slept very poorly that evening! I went to the Honda dealership as soon as they opened that morning, Tuesday April 30th, and tried my very best to explain that I felt that I was rushed/forced to buy that car that night and wanted to pay for any and all paperwork cost that was created on my behalf. The used car manager then proceeded to tell me that it was a done deal and I had already bought the new Accord keeping in mind I never even had time or a chance to drive the car. I offered $500 or whatever it took to reverse the paperwork. The manager stated all the paperwork was already turned in and I now owned the car and there was nothing I can do about it. The new car still sits at the dealer. I told them not to pre-deliver it or install any of the options that were wanted. They refused to comply so then I contacted my attorney to ask for legal help in the matter. Please note this is the 5th new car I have bought from this dealer so I have been a loyal Honda customer to Honda and the Honda dealership. Right now, I am worried about my near perfect credit score as a result from this mess. I am very angry at the high pressure sales and lack of cooperation from this dealership even when I never drove the new car and I am willing to pay for any and all inconvenience. This has been a very bad experience and I would highly recommend going to another dealership.

Ive been on Hondas since the late 60s, dirt, trail & blacktop versions. Ive had other brands (primarily cruisers), but have been disappointed and have returned home to Honda. After playing in the dirt during my youth I graduated finally to the Wings. Got my first Wing in 1984 right out of the crate. Put over 250K on her and traded her in on a shiny new SEI in 1986. Kept the SEI in pristine condition until a moving company broke her during a military move & purchased a 95 anniversary edition, which I still have today. Ive had hog riders tell me she isnt a real bike and Ive told them that they are correct - shes a Cadillac convertible on 2 wheels. Unlike an ultra glide I can be on her with my wife, all day long and at the end of a long day of 400+ miles I can still walk. Three cruisers, all with over 200K miles doing nothing more than typical scheduled maintenance or replacing small parts e.g., tires, brake pads etc. Ive known several people that have well over a half-million miles on Wings and are still going strong - figure out how many V-twins youd go through in that many miles. Ive been thinking of trading in the 95 for another new bike, but really do Not like the most recent version of the Wing. Ive been on the BMW cruiser and Ive got to admit, it really has me thinking of changing. Thirty-five years of loyalty with Wings is hard to shake, but they (Honda) seem intent on taking one of their best lines (Goldwing) and making it into another sports bike. Buy a good used one if you can find one, youll be very happy you did.

Having owned 5 Hondas over the last 15 years, I can tell you this is NOT the same company it once was! Customer Service, WAS their strong point, and was upheld to a standard that surpassed the industry. NOW it is just MAINSTREAM... MAYBE EVEN WORSE! We are getting ready to purchase our new vehicle and it will NOT be a HONDA. Not because the vehicles are faulty... but because the service standards have fallen to a level of disgust and unethical practices. I hope this review gets seen by anyone that might be considering a HONDA for their next purchase. BUYER BEWARE!

Honda had a recall on their power steering hose because these leaked. Mine actually developed a leak so bad that the fluid leaked onto the exhaust and created so much smoke that my wife thought the car was on fire (she was driving it alone). She did make it home and I let it cool down and checked the situation. All of the fluid had leaked out and after refilling it, the power steering pump made a terrible noise. We got Honda to replace the hose under the recall but they refused to replace the pump because they said that after the 36,000-mile warranty... too bad basically. They seemed to agree that the faulty hose caused the fluid to all leak out which in turn ruined the pump but refused to cover it. We were thinking of buying a new Accord until this. If they admit to making a crappy part, they should cover everything that is damaged by that part.

I have been a loyal repeat customer of Honda for 26 years and have purchase
I have been a loyal repeat customer of Honda for 26 years and have purchased three new Honda Accords in that time. My first purchase was a 1991 Honda Accord in which I put over 100,000 miles on it before gifting it to my sister who put an additional 100,000 miles on it. I was so pleased with my Honda, that I purchased a new 2005 Honda Accord which I gave to my son for his graduation. I purchased the third Honda Accord in 2008 which I gave to my daughter in 2013. All services for all vehicles were performed through Conicelli Honda, previously known as Sport Honda. I never had an issue with them or Honda until this week. I reside in Pennsylvania and my daughter moved to Chicago after graduating from college at Northwestern University. She continued maintenance services with Castle Honda and Grossinger Honda while living in Chicago per my recommendation to always have it serviced through Honda. My daughter was leaving work and the car made a rattle noise and then stalled and locked up when she approached a stop sign. She called me in a panic and after explaining to me what happened I advised her not to drive it and recommended that she have it towed to the dealership. She said that there was no engine indicator light on and neither was the oil lamp so she had no warning that there was an issue other than the car stalling on her and locking up. I advised her to get a hotel room since it was already midnight by the time the tow truck driver arrived. The next day the technician at Grossing Honda advised that the engine needed to be overhauled for approximately $3,700.00 or replace the engine for $13,000.00. I thought the technician was highly mistaken since there was only approximately 50,000 miles currently on the car. I asked what caused the problem and he said there was nothing that my daughter did to cause it but just something that happens when the pistons shift. This explanation did not appear to be normal to me since I have never had any issues such as this before with my other Honda vehicles. Therefore, I decided to do some research and found that American Honda had prior knowledge of a defect and related conditions regarding the engine on the 2008 to 2011 Honda Accord Coupes and Sedans in addition to the 2010 to 2011 CRV SUVs using an excess of oil consumption that lead to carbon deposits on the piston rings, which eventually reduced the rings effectiveness allowing the oil to seep past. This explained why the technician said there was nothing that my daughter did to cause it nor would she had any indication that there was an issue since she always took it to have the oil changed every 3,000 miles.Unfortunately, being a loyal customer of Honda for 26 years didnt seem to matter because the dealership nor Honda advised that an extended warranty was issued on these engines to 8 years or 125,000 miles from the original purchase date whichever came first. I purchased this vehicle on June 18, 2008 so the warranty expired a year ago on June 18, 2016. I telephoned American Honda (800) 999-1009 ext. 7 and was assigned a Case No. ** due to my dissatisfaction concerning these repairs and explained that the engine overhaul could have been prevented had Honda conducted an oil consumption test when the vehicle was in for service previously due to the engine light coming on/off. The technician provided me with the diagnostic trouble codes: P0300 and P0339 and informed me that the history on the vehicle did show that it had a history of oil consumption which was never conveyed to my daughter.Unfortunately, in conveying this to the case manager at American Honda; he was not only reluctant but refused to be understanding or sympathetic and stated that nothing could be done since the warranty expired and that he couldnt offer any resolution to remedy the problem, even knowing that I have been a loyal customer for years. He only asked what I expected him to do about it and ultimately, I was fully taken aback and expected any type of acknowledgement that Honda is at fault for allowing this to happen when they knew of the defect and could have prevented the problem sooner and should have at least offered to lower the labor rate of $148 or offered to reduce the bill since I was being penalized for the low mileage on the vehicle over the years. If there had been more miles on the vehicle sooner, the extended warranty would have covered the cost of the repairs and prevented this from happening. Now, I do not feel that I can trust the dealerships or Honda and plan to get rid of the vehicle and will never buy another Honda. As a business owner who recognizes the fundamental importance and value of great customer service was surprised that Honda does not share the same values or philosophy. So in the future, I will refrain from recommending anyone to buy a Honda as I have done so frequently over the years and will pursue being an advocate for consumer protection and awareness by educating everyone on this experience and suggest the importance of them conducting their own research on consumer reports to assure they are diligent in finding any potential issues. The cost of the repairs is not as shocking as the disregard for customer service and customer loyalty. Hopefully, Honda will recognize that each customer and experience is an important one whether good or bad. Being a business owner has allowed me to realize that all experiences may not be perfect but the best way to handle a situation when something goes wrong is to make it right because the rewards of doing so exceeds the negative impact when choose to do nothing.

I am writing this to express my disappointment in a recent encounter with Honda Canada. My family has been dedicated to the Honda brand for over 30 years. My grandparents have purchased Honda their entire lives and their love for the brand was passed on to my parents, and now, my sister and me. When I was 23 years old, my father gifted me his 2001 Honda Accord, which has almost 400,000 km on it and is still going strong. Unfortunately, I was forced to sell my beloved accord when I moved across the country (with 400,000 km on it, I felt uneasy about driving the vehicle cross-country). When I returned to Nova Scotia, I once again demonstrated my loyalty to Honda and purchased a 2006 Civic. In late 2016, I received a recall notice for the passenger side airbag. I was familiar with this recall because I had received the same notice for my accord, which I immediately had fixed at a Honda dealership in Alberta.About two weeks ago, I was driving to work at 5:00am when my car overheated and began smoking. I was forced to pull over on the side of the highway and wait for CAA. That is not the issue, as I understand that it is normal for older vehicles to run into problems. I had the vehicle towed to a local repair shop, where they confirmed that there was a crack in my engine block. Unbeknownst to me, the issue was a nationwide recall. Although I had received the recall notice for the airbag, I was never made aware of the engine block recall. I found out about the recall at 5:30am, on the side of the highway, from my tow truck driver. Due to the recall ending on December 31, 2016, Honda was not willing to replace the engine block free of charge. My family and I reached out to Honda Canada to express the fact that we were never made aware of the recall. Had I known there was a recall, I would have gotten my vehicle fixed immediately. As a now 26-year-old woman, I work very hard to pay for school, insurance, rent and much more. The fact that my car is no longer functioning is truly devastating. After expressing our concerns to Honda, we were told that a representative would get back to us within a week and let us know if there was anything Honda would do for us since we had not been made aware of the recall. Almost two weeks later, Honda Canada got back to us stating that they would pay for the engine block, however I would need to pay $1,500 for labour. Not only is this unaffordable for a full-time student, but it is disappointing that an error made on Hondas behalf would cause me to pay $1,500.I am now without a car and refuse to pay $1,500 in labour to a company that does not stand behind their product. It is truly sad that Honda is losing a family of committed buyers (for over 30 years), due to this incident. I am now looking for a new vehicle, but want to make it very clear that my family and I will not be purchasing another Honda in the future. I hope that $1,500 is worth the loss of a truly committed family of (former) Honda lovers.

I recently purchased a $30 Honda shirt (Made in Taiwan) from the apparel store. After one wear, the material was easily altered (for better lack of term). I returned it, received an in store credit and immediately used the credit, added $30 to that, and purchased what I thought to be a Quality $60 Honda Jersey. At the time I did not realize it was also made in Taiwan! No tag, only a plastic Made in Taiwan stamp inside! Well customer service refused to accept the return because supposedly there was no manager in store. On my way out, the salesman & I talked and he was able to talk with someone who the cashiers could not talk to, and the salesman offered me a $25 in-store credit! I basically refused, and he was surprised because he said its usually not hard to give away $25! Without him realizing, I didnt want to give away $35 (the difference of what I paid)! I left the store, left the jersey in the parking lot and will never visit the store again! I purchased a $7K bike (cash), I purchased other apparel, accessories, gifts, helmets, even $149 boots a month ago. I felt good to be a loyal customer but too bad I didnt get the same loyalty! I was so mad I was in tears! Oh well, no more tears over Dreyer as I will shop elsewhere!

My 2019 Honda Civic, brand new 3 weeks ago, has been in the Honda service department 7 times for the same problem. The low tire pressures warning light goes on after 2 days driving out of the service department. I have been given 7 different explanations & as many attempted repairs... Down to new tires. The problem is still NOT resolved. I bought this car for my teenage daughter because of its purported reliability & safety. The last time it arrived to the shop with a flat tire due to “manufacturing defect”! 1 of the 4 tires was replaced. Today they are saying a 2nd tire needs replacing. Would you allow your teenage daughter to drive this car? I am extremely distressed and she has spent more of her college summer break waiting at the dealer! This situation meets the trifecta of the LEMON LAW criteria. This vehicle is unreliable & downright dangerous.

Recently, I bought (April 2011) a 1997 Honda Passport with a blown head for next to nothing. I purchased the vehicle for my two kids to get back and forth from college. I then dumped a couple grand into fixing it. Then in June, I noticed big chunks of rusted steel on my driveway under where the Passport was parked. I crawled underneath it, only to find that the chassis was so rusted out in places that I could place my whole fist into the holes (especially right under the passenger seat/door). I was also able to grab handfuls of rusted and corroded steel from inside the cavity along the chassis.I immediately called the Honda Recall Hotline, and they indicated to me that there was no recall for the 1997 Chassis, but there was a recall starting in 1998 on the frame. “Not to worry”, they said. I was to take it to the dealer to have them access the situation and determine next steps. So, I parked the vehicle in the driveway, and prohibited any one from driving it. I have been so busy with work, but I finally got around to calling the dealer in my area (Roush). They instructed me to set an appointment for them to do a diagnostic check. Oh, and that they will have to charge me for the diagnostic analysis. I told them that it was a bunch of bunk having it; I did not want to pay them any fees. All one has to do is get on their knees; look under the car, and come to the diagnosis that I came to that there is obviously a defect for the steel to be so rusted, that you could put your fist into several areas. Obviously, you do not need to be a rocket surgeon to figure it out, nor do you need to place it on a rack to make an official diagnosis, let alone charge me for it. I told them that I would send them 1000 FREE diagnostic pictures that they could use for their analysis.Since that did not get me anywhere, I asked for Hondas number because I wanted to chat with a regional/district manager in order to obtain approval for the dealer to waive the diagnostic fee. I got the runaround from Heather in recalls. She said that I needed to go back to the dealer; since my vehicle had no recall, she could not obtain approval for a free diagnostic check. She also would not provide me with the district managers name for Honda. She said to me that I needed to get that information from the dealer.I then proceeded to voice my concern on this, and told her that the vehicle isnt safe to be driving even to the dealer. She offered absolutely no concern, nor any valuable customer service. Based on this Honda experience and previous experience with a GMC vehicle, I can tell you GMCs customer service department blows Hondas away. So, now I have to call Roush back in order to obtain the Honda district managers name and number. It makes absolutely no sense and is totally a runaround. I bought the Passport because it was a Honda, only to find out that it is an ISUZU.Honda evidently paid ISUZU to manufacture the Passports which was Hondas entrance into the SUV market. Now I have what I thought was a Honda, which is actually an ISUZU. No wonder why the frame is crap. If you happen to own a Honda Passport manufactured in the years 1995 (first year), 1996 and 1997, check your chassis. If anyone else has this problem, please let me know if you have been able to rectify it with Honda.

Honda refuses to admit the Civics are flawed. The 08 Civic I own has so many they had 2 recalls. The tire constantly wears out unevenly. The condenser is letting rocks hit it making holes so it needs to be replaced. The A/C only works when it wants to! But it only quits on the hottest days! When I take it to the mechanic it works fine! It needs to be not working when I take it in, but, who knows where Ill be when that happens. Im usually in another city. Honda needs to do right and admit it made a bad car!

My name is Jose **. 2 weeks ago I took my Honda Civic to the Honda dealership to fix my 2 recalls On my airbags. Also had my AC fixed because it was not turning on, they told me it was gonna cost me a little over $500 To get it fixed. I said go ahead fix it, same day I called the dealership that car was overheating and shutting off after they did work on it, they completely denied it that they only touched the AC but I have proof from other repair shops there was nothing wrong with my car, I took my car for one thing, I don’t know what they did, it damaged another thing, now they say is a bad battery, a bad alternator and a bad AC compressor, but that’s not what they told me at first when I took my car to have my AC fixed, what can I do?

My husband and I both leased a 2017 CR-V. We were talked into getting the 2017 because of all the bells and whistles. The phone, trunk, door locks and auto start do not work. We brought it in multiple times but still don’t have a resolution. My car has been vandalized several times because even though I lock the door the keys lock/unlock themselves. The Autostart won’t work if it’s too cold or snowing. The phones are always disconnecting or saying no device connected. The trunk does not always work from the key fob and doesn’t always open completely and most times needs to be manually closed which is difficult with the hydraulics. I would not recommend Honda and would not recommend Fletcher Jones. The customer service has been a part-time job that no one wants to help me with. I am disappointed that I was talked into spending more money for a car with more gadgets and benefits that just don’t work the way they are supposed to. I am also highly disappointed in the lack of customer service or resolutions for our investments.

They are not ready to share technician’s no. also. They shared the complain no. after one hr from the time of registering the complain. They don’t mind keeping on hold for 20 minutes or more than that. When I asked them to connect with their seniors after keeping me on hold for four minutes executive said they are busy and can’t talk now. Is it really worth to pay them hefty amount and suffer like this for the service where other private players provided it at very low cost and with 30 minutes commitment. Purchased a 2012 Honda Civic Sedan on Feb. 9th, 2012. Drove it for 2 days and my lower back started to hurt like crazy. I mean I could barely get off of my couch without being in excruciating pain! Called the dealer and he recommending by a lumbar support at Walgreens. Wow! Great fix! Apparently, they have a bad design and they tell you to buy a lumbar support. I looked on a Honda forum and there were several complaints about the civic seats. Spoke with the General Manager and the dealership is suppose to call me on Monday! Will see what they say! 28-32 MPG in town doesnt do anyone any good if you cant drive the car because the seats are so uncomfortable you cant bare the excruciating lower back pain!

I called Honda only to be told they can’t fix it because I am over the miles allowed (36000). I love Honda. Both of our cars are made by Honda (a CR-V and a Civic). Theyre reliable, comfortable, convenient, and enjoyable to drive. We usually drive the CR-V when we go on long trips and its nice to be able to fit my wife and I, two dogs and all the luggage plus my acoustic guitar on most trips. My favorites are the Bluetooth connectivity for my music, the seat warmers and the back up camera. The Bluetooth connection is great for just hopping in the car and having the music pick up from where I was listening to it last (which Im doing constantly) and it sounds pretty great! The seat warmers are wonderful because Im always cold, especially when my wife is driving as she likes to turn the car into an icicle on wheels. And Im short so the backup cam can see areas I cant on my own or with the mirrors. I personally wouldnt enjoy driving something much bigger but as we travel a lot with two dogs and a bunch of stuff, a little bit more cargo space would be really helpful. We dont stack things in the back to the point where they are piling over the seats or we are unable to see out of the rear view window.

My issue is my 2013 Honda CRV I financed 3years ago. Vehicle has been stalling and throwing all kinds of codes out there. Almost put 2000 into it just getting it towed. Car stalled in middle of busy street, I almost got hit. I took it to my local PEP Boys and they did 500 worth of work to it, stopped the next day. I took it back to pep boys and they kept it for 3days. And said they didnt have technology to fix what was wrong with it. I got it towed to my dealership where I financed and the symptoms got worse. More codes, misfires, spluttering, stalling, shaking. Hill-Kelly Dodge my dealer said to have it towed to my manufacturer which is Honda. My vehicle has been there for days, the advisor called day2 and said all it needed was gas. I said, Really I keep gas in my car. She also said it was driving good. I refused to pick up. I told her this has been going on for years. She kept it and said they would just run it and see if anything happens. Eventually it did. It started throwing codes again and misfiring. So she said they would work on it and hopefully see what they could find. I called honda corporation and email twice. Representatives were horrible. Its was, What do you want us to do about this problem. I said, Your company made the car. This is a big safety issue. The representative just started talking about random stuff. I was very dissatisfied with the customer service there. I really wanna get a case started against this company. I will never buy another honda vehicle about this.

I own a 2010 Honda Accord coupe EX. This is now the second time the rear driver side quarter panel has cracked. My assumption is because of the quality of the rear quarter panel, material of it, and the cold weather. Both times the quarter panel has cracked, it has started out about an inch and then grew to four or five inches. Same spot both times. The first instance the entire quarter panel was replaced by a Honda dealer. Im now waiting on my insurance company to determine if this was a defect in the repair. I think Honda needs to take ownership as this has to be a common problem with these model Accords. I find it hard to believe that this is now the second quarter panel and has cracked in the same spot again. Seems like a defect and a recall needed from Honda.

I bought a new 2009 Honda Accord EX. After a few days, I realized that the drivers seat was very uncomfortable. It can be adjusted in three different ways, so I assumed I just didnt have it adjusted properly. Over the next three weeks or so, I adjusted it in every possible way, but it remained uncomfortable. I contacted the dealer. And they offered to help me buy a good used car (Thanks a lot!). I called North American Honda and they didnt care. And finally, I wrote Tokyo, but they just bounced the problem back to North American Honda. Finally, I got a call from some woman at North American Honda. She had all her talking points down pat. She told me that I should have known that the seats were uncomfortable before I bought it. I asked her how I should know that from a short test drive. She said I just should know. She told me that most people were satisfied with Honda seats. I asked her what Honda had to offer to those of us who werent most people. She had no answer. I also asked her how many complaints Honda had received about their seats. She quickly responded that that was confidential. I told her I could understand why. Her basic attitude was that Honda already had my money, so they didnt give a damn about my problem. I looked for after-market seats, but there werent any because of the air bags in the seat. Its illegal to disconnect air bags. And nobody made after-market seats with air bags. I had the foam in the seat replaced twice, but that didnt help. The car was so miserably uncomfortable that I traded it off after three months and 1700 miles.

Dealer said it was fixed, it wasnt. I had a different tech at the dealer look at the light, and he fixed it with in 5 min. The main issue is the air temperature between the dash vent and floor is greatly different. The dealer said it is normal. When I picked up my car, I was told I could compare my car to another which I did. The air temp in the second car was I feel it should be the dash air temp and the floor temp was the same temp. We have a 2010 Honda Odyssey with less than 60,000 miles on it. For the first few years, we had our servicing on the vehicle done at the local Honda dealer. After a few years spending several hours at each visit, we were told by multiple people in our small town about a local mechanic in town who is honest and fair. We switched to this mechanic to support local businesses and it is much more convenient and way less expensive. At our last check up for the car, the mechanic found a leak in the steering rack. It is quite a pricey item to fix and the mechanic stated that a car with our age/mileage should not be experiencing this issue and suggested we call Honda to see if they would do right by us. We promptly called Honda and were instructed to contact our local Honda dealer, have the car inspected and call them back. Apparently, there is a warranty extension on the steering pump (not the steering rack). When we called the dealer, we were informed that they would charge $134 to inspect the vehicle and if it was the steering pump, we would get our money back. Otherwise, it is $134 out of our pocket. As we attempted to make an appointment, the gentleman we spoke with took no information, didnt give us a time and actually laughed (this was from Joyce Honda in Denville, NJ). We called Honda customer service back and asked to have the $134 waived as we were certain that the problem was with the rack, not the pump, and since we are looking at a costly repair, we arent willing to waste an additional $134. We were told that all dealers are independently owned and the fee cant be waived. We were also told that they cant help us without having one of their independently owned dealers see the car. They also instructed us that after paying the $134, our case would go to a group who would look at our loyalty to Honda; how often we used their dealers to service our cars and how often we have bought a Honda. Our issue is this; clearly there is a faulty part here and yet Honda is not willing to fix the issue easily. We arent willing to front any cost here especially since we arent confident we are loyal customers since we have our servicing done elsewhere. This is our second and we have to say LAST Honda that we will ever own. Our local mechanic will get our business and we are confident he will fix the problem and all will be well, however, we should not have to cover the cost of a faulty part. Very wrong.

I am driving a HONDA MOBILIO Car in INDIA which was bought by me on 2015. On 16/11/2015 in Chennai we had heavy rain and we drove this car to court as an emergency case. But all of a sudden the car engine has stopped by itself without any reasons. Then we towed our car to the dealer in Chennai for an inspection. The service engineer told us that the rain water has entered in Engine. We all surprised to hear that. Is it possible? And we had a doubt that these HONDA cars are not suitable for rainy seasons. IF the water gets into an engine it is purely manufacturing defect. But the dealers is looking for an insurance person to change some spares. No one has intended to file a complaint in HONDA. We are not ready to accept this car by changing some spares. It will affect the home setting of the car. My question is this. Will HONDA replace our entire car if it a manufacturing defect? We have noticed that about ten cars are in dealers garage. We have discussed with HONDA dealer for the replacement. But no response from them. We wish HONDA manufacturer should intervene with dealer to replace the entire car. In other words HONDA should declare our cars are not suitable for rainy conditions. Such a surprise from the dealers. They are not ready to escalate this issue to manufacturer. They are looking for an insurance people to cover the cost. We need response from HONDA manufacturer to solve this issue.

Honda dealership is great. But when it comes to the actual corporation they have no value for the customer. I got a 2016 Honda Civic fully equipped and I took my brother as well and got the same car as me, so technically we bought two at the same time and within the 3rd month my car started to get system errors, brake system problem, abs system problem, anti-lock braking system problem, tire pressure monitor system problem and much more. I took in the shop I would say 7 - 8 times and was at the shop of total of 35 days at the shop and the problem was still there. So I called Honda corporation and made a claim. The gentlemen that took my case did not call me back or anything. So I got an Attorney because I didnt know what else to do. I was missing work, couldnt take my son to school. Its been almost 7 months and Honda still giving a hard time.I trade in my previous car. I was down $4,000 and I was fine with it because I thought I was getting a better car. Till today with downpayment and car payments Ive put close to $10,000 and Honda is just trying to give me $4,000 back. This was my first new car and gave me the worse first car experience. So if you get a car from Honda just make sure its not a lemon because I assure you they wont treat you the same way as if you where a new customer. I would never get a Honda car ever again.

I recently had the misfortune of purchasing a car (2018 Honda Fit) with Honda Sensing enabled. Within a week, I discovered that the sensors are so flaky as to render the car unsafe to drive - while I was unable to trigger them at all during the test drive (as they sometimes fail to detect anything), the opposite problem (seeing something that isnt there) is where the car becomes unsafe. 3 times in 60 miles of highway driving, the car applied maximum brakes without warning. The road in front of me was clear for several miles (and thankfully also clear behind me), but it always triggered as I was just about to finish passing another car. This compounded the risk of brake checking - had someone been behind me, they absolutely would have rear-ended me, as they would have had no place to go to dodge my vehicle, and absolutely no way to anticipate my car applying the brakes at maximum for several seconds. The dealership inspected the sensors and assured me they were performing to spec - this was not an issue with a faulty or malfunctioning sensor, *this is the way Honda Sensing is designed to work*. Further searching has turned up 3 class action lawsuits and hundreds of similar stories, with Honda dismissing all of them with the hilarious its a complicated system, you cant expect it to be perfect. Im sure Ford would have loved to have that slogan when they were dealing with the Pinto. Honda, when it comes to the *brakes on a car*, yes, you do need to be perfect, or you need to leave them alone. Its worth noting that Consumer Reports ranks Honda dead last in its evaluation of these emergency braking systems.Further compounding the situation, there is no way to permanently disable this system. I would strongly recommend that no one buy a car with this feature, think twice before riding in a newer Honda, and be aware of their potentially erratic performance if you see one on the road - frankly these cars are a danger to others as much as to themselves.

I HAVE BOUGHT 5 HONDAS IN 6 YEARS. All were no trouble until this 2017 CRV would not start on May 16, 2019 in my garage. Battery dead. I was given two options, have it towed or jump it & bring it in. I advised them I had checked the battery also and found one dry cell that was burned looking and three cells that were milky. My 40 years experience as a certified Auto mechanic meant nothing to these zomby robots. Took car home and was dead again. I went out and bought a battery so the wife could use the car. Whole day lost, 165$ gone and was advise they could not do anything for me. Called Honda customer care, same garbage. One excuse after the other not to cover the issue. I advised the Dealer that if the mechanic did not have a hydrometer and only uses the gadget to check batteries then they need a mechanic that will invest in a hydrometer. Honda will no longer have our yearly purchase to look forward to as my money is good other places. Honda is now a forbidden word in our home.

Honda customer service keep telling customers to wait for their case managers to call back if you can even get through to them. Honda Clarity fuel cell lessees are paying a high monthly leasing fees to Honda and not being able to drive the car and compounded by their horrible customer service and red-tape to make consumers bear the burden of time and costs. I am awaiting a reply from consumer affairs with regards to my wifes 2014 Honda Accord, purchased new from Jim Coleman Honda in Clarksville, Maryland. My wife purchased the vehicle, along with an extended paint protection warranty (to protect the paint finish against premature wear, rust, staining, etc.), which covers the vehicle for 7 years from the date of purchase. In the past 6 months, we have taken note that the factory paint finish has begun to shrink and peel back from the rear window glass along the surrounding body panels. We notified the dealership, and they advised that there is a known factory defect with vehicles finished in Pearl White (my wifes paint color) and dark metallic blue, where this pattern has been observed. There are countless accounts of this paint defect online. Some representative web posts are linked below; There are many more... https://www.carcomplaints.com/Honda/Accord/2014/body_paint/inferior_paint_and_clear_coat.shtml https://www.carcomplaints.com/Honda/Accord/2014/body_paint/paint_peeling.shtml https://www.autobody-review.com/blog/what-is-happening-to-my-honda-paint-problems https://www.driveaccord.net/threads/paint-peeling-away-pics-included.544831/?fbclid=IwAR0rabgCs3mFj6yijicnLY4m2v_v00HGgNbyD2Fu898TA-kGuy_QDaT3qo0https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SE3HLhHYh0wThere is even an entire Facebook group dedicated to raising awareness and seeking remediation to this obvious manufacturers defect: https://www.facebook.com/groups/389497225179056/. The dealer advised that they believed this to be a factory defect, and not a warranty issue and reached out to Honda, USA on our behalf. We were advised that resolution was reached with Honda, USA and they agreed to pay on a 90/10 basis (90% of the repair costs would be paid by Honda; we would be responsible for 10%) and we were asked to bring the vehicle in to a Honda Certified Repair Facility (Chandlers Collision Center in Columbia, MD).We brought the vehicle in to the recommended shop, and while we were able to obtain a repair estimate, the shop adjuster began scraping at the paint (causing further damage) which left an extremely unpleasant feeling about the shop. When we asked to see samples of paint work they had completed, the adjuster showed me 2 vehicles on the lot -- each one worse than the previous in terms of color match, paint texture and body work quality. Further, we were advised that Honda would not stand behind this shops work, despite telling us that this was their shop of preference, deferring any quality issues with the repair to the repair facility policies. We advised Jim Coleman Honda of our desire to have the repair performed at another facility that we had located (also Honda Certified): Subway Auto Body in Gambrills, MD. We had the opportunity to meet with this shop manager/owner who was very understanding of the nature of the repairs needed, the process needed to repair correctly and warrantied workmanship integrity. We asked about having the repair performed at this facility instead, and were advised that Jim Coleman would look into this with Honda and get back to us.Weeks went by without any feedback despite numerous calls to both Honda and Jim Coleman, and finally I escalated the issue with Honda, USA. I received a call-back from Honda advising that we took too long to schedule the repair, and therefore they were no longer accepting responsibility. The Honda representative would not allow me to get a word in edgewise, despite pleading with them that the reason the repair was not scheduled was due to a lack of response in how to proceed on their end. They refused to listen, vulgarities were exchanged, and they refuse to address this matter. Subsequent calls into Honda, and we are seemingly black-listed from speaking with a representative.Bottom line, we have email traffic assuring us that the repair would be covered at a 90/10 split, numerous inquiries on how to proceed that went unanswered, and now we are left with a nearly $2,500 repair bill for a factory defect. The shop owner at Subway has also attempted to reach out to Honda on our behalf and they wont even return a phone call -- mind you this shop pays annual fees to remain an accredited Honda Repair facility, so this says a great deal for Honda, USA in general. Since the time when we first notified Honda of the issue, the damage has spread to the full surround of the rear glass and is continually growing larger. It is despicable that Honda refuses to accept responsibility and worse that their lack of customer service follow through has only delayed remediation.

I got Honda Jazz on April last year. I had trouble within two months, no rear brakes. The dealership kept lying and saying nothing was wrong. Four times I went back with no help. Every time I put the handbrake on incline, nothing happens. I told them about this. I took the car to another garage for MOT, it failed on rear brakes. I went to the dealer and showed them the report. They refused to do anything. I paid for repairs myself, returned to the dealer with the bill and asked to see the owner. The staff member refused to get him and was rather intimidating and aggressive. The repairs showed the rear calipers were not working, only one pad was contacting with the disc, so I was driving a dangerous car. I would like something done before I take matters further. I think it is disgusting the way I have been treated. Trading standards said I would have had case if I had gone to them sooner.

June 2015 the paint on my 2007 Honda Civic started corroding. The extended warranty due to problems was 7 1/2 years. I missed it by 6 months. They would only split 50/50 for the sections showing corrosion. Their price for 4 sections was the same as Maaco for whole car, new bumper and dents fixed. Costing me $1575 to paint a car with 80,000 miles.

I have taken my car back to service at Honda since day one for a rocky and shifting ride. I have been told over 20 times that there is nothing wrong with my car that it drives as designed. I have also taken my car to outside mechanics that have told me exactly what I felt when I drive my car. The other mechanics (not Honda) state that my car drifts left and pulls right. Each time after I take my car to an outside mechanic I then take it back to Honda service and they say the same thing, car drives as designed and that they can not find anything wrong with my car. What I found out between the 14th and 15th time of taking my car to Honda that every time that I have brought the car back that my rotors and brakes we always inspected as part of Hondas service plan. So my thing is that if it had be inspected and the outside mechanics noticed it immediately how come Honda never diagnosed the problem (Oh my bad. Theres no problem). I have gone to the attorney general and without an inspection of my car or anything they sided with Honda. I tried the Better Business Bureau but they do not deal with brand new model vehicles. They referred me to NCDS National center for dispute settlement, a carbon copy of the attorney generals office. So no matter the documents you have or proof its basically your word against the word of the big corporation. Im in a losing battle while still having to pay for and drive a vehicle that probably will be the cause of my life and my families life as well as others. Been thinking of a voluntary repo but that will kill my credit. Better my score than so many lives.

I have a new 2012 Honda Jazz Hybrid in my ownership. Overall, I am very satisfied with the car. But after the maintenance at 15,000 kilometers, the oil in the engine was replaced in one authorized Honda Israel service. After oil replacement, I just haven’t recognized my car responses. Also, the fuel consumption has increased a bit. In the service manual, it is suggested to use Honda Green Oil for all hybrid cars. The C/N is 0282P99S4LHE. Instead of this oil, they put inside C/N 0282P99G4LHE and they claimed that Honda approved this replacement. That’s the same answer I got from a local customer service agent. My request to put Green Oil wasnt successful. They told me that there is no Green Oil in stock and I have to order it 4 weeks before the next service on 30,000 kilometers. My question is what I am supposed to do in this situation? Thanks in advance.

My wife and I bought this vehicle brand new. After the first 2000 miles, the tires were transmitting the street vibration into the cab. It was so loud that you cant carry a normal conversation. Furthermore the vehicle develops a weird action that stalls the engine when you try to accelerate to pass another vehicle. In both cases, we took the car to the dealership and they did nothing claiming that the diagnostic machine found nothing. Nevertheless we end up replacing the car for a 2013 Toyota Camry SE. Its quiet as a church mouse and has an excellent acceleration. Goodbye forever, Honda!!

I purchased a 2010 Honda Accord from Anderson Honda in Maryland. When I purchased my vehicle, I inquired about getting a bluetooth device installed. I was told that if I got the device as part of my purchase that it would be covered under 3-year 36,000 mile warranty that came with the car. I purchased it (the item is on my Vehicle Purchase Agreement) and subsequently, the car went from MD to CA with my daughter. The bluetooth device is now dropping calls, and my daughter went to get it repaired in CA. Miller Honda told her it was aftermarket, and they would not fix it. I called Anderson and my sales representative, Jim **, told me, “Oh that was if the car was here in Maryland.” I told him that at the time I told him I was taking the car to my daughter in California and he said it will be covered under the car’s 3-year 36,000 mile warranty. I am angry, because I financed this item when I could have paid cash for it and had it installed after the purchase. Also, I was told that this was a factory Honda item (Hands Free Link), and if I knew it was an aftermarket item, I may have gotten a NAV or more sophisticated item for my money. Finally, I am angry because Honda is not living up to its obligations and lied to me to get me to purchase this item that they now do not want to stand behind. I had a bad experience years ago with a Renault and have stayed away from companies that I thought were not reputable. I should have stayed with Toyota, I guess. I want no one else to get burned like this.

My daughter has a 2009 Honda Accord with 85k miles on it. It goes through 3 quarts of oil between oil changes. We submitted a claim even tho the warranty was out by one week but not out on mileage. They told me to take it to a Honda dealer (Ray Price) to do an oil consumption test. Which consist of a oil change (I pay for) then bring it back in around 1000 miles, they check level then report to Honda USA. Heres the problem, I took it back. It lost 3/4 qt by the calibrated eye of the mechanic looking at the dip stick, he didnt drain and measure. Also they didnt use the same weight oil as in the owners manual. The real misconception here is it loses at the same rate. It doesnt between the first 1000 miles and the 2nd 1000 miles it loses faster!!! Sometime between oil changes Ill put in 4 quarts!! My rating reflexes my appearance so far, it may change when its all said and done. Banging my head in Bangor.

I have purchased about 10 Honda vehicles in the past 15 years, 4 of which have been Honda Ridgelines. I havent had any issues with any of them, until now. My current 2017 Ridgeline came with a toxic odor in the in-bed trunk. Every time you open the trunk, the smell comes pouring out. Anything you put in the trunk comes out smelling of the chemical. I have tried cleaning it out numerous times and even brought it to the dealership, where they tried to get rid of the smell three times. Nothing works. When I called American Honda, they stated that all of the 2017 Honda Ridgelines have the smell - the smell is from an epoxy they use to seal the trunk and there is nothing you can do to get rid of it, other than waiting for it to fade away. I have been waiting for seven months, and the smell is as strong as ever. American Honda refuses to do anything about it. Seems like they did not learn anything from the Takata airbag disaster.

I was a Honda owner for over 20 years and always liked Honda. Generally they are good cars, but if you do have an issue, the customer service is the absolute worst. I have proof of trying to call customer service many times with no return call. It’s impossible to get a number for someone “higher up”. So I tried emailing and again can prove that not one person would respond to my emails. My email got the automatic response that someone would be in touch within 48 business hours, but I never heard back from anyone from Honda, despite trying to call and email every 2 months. But as soon I start driving the car, the hybrid car switches on the engine but the engine sound is too high. I thought Vezels normally have the same engine noise like an aeroplane jet but when I happened to compare with other Honda Vezels, I found there is some fault due to which the engine noise is so loud and clicks - heard Trr Trr.In no way, I could accept this problem in the brand new car I purchased from Japan - just 4 km driven. I want my car tested and rectified. In no way I had spent this much money to get frustration and so much tension, my head aches since last night. Please spread this complaint as much as possible. The car was not involved in a minor crash prior to our purchase, it was involved in a total of 2 collisions with moderate damage and air bag deployment. I bought a Galaxy Gray Honda Civic LX Sedan new on Memorial Day weekend in 2008. In 2014, I noticed that the paint on the roof was fading (it looked like it had been rubbed really hard in some areas and just came off). A 6-year old car with fading paint? That made no sense, so I checked and found there was a Honda bulletin issued addressing the paint issues and that they would repaint the affected areas. I took it to the dealer where I bought it, they kept it for two weeks and didnt offer me a loaner. They acted like they were doing me this huge favor by repainting it for free. They had a body shop repaint the roof, hood, and front fenders. I thought that was the end of it. Well, at about 7.5 years of age, the paint started coming off the trunk. I went back to the dealer and was told sorry, its out of warranty. We cant do anything for you. Now the car is 9 years old and the paint is coming off two of the doors as well as the trunk. Also, the rubber stripping along both sides of the windshield cracked and broke off, and the rubber trim along two of the windows has done the same. Im very disappointed. This is my third Honda Civic; I previously had an 89 and a 98 and had no problems like this. My car only has 87,000 miles on it, so it should last me at least another 9 years; its just going to look like crap unless I spend $$$ to repaint it. Why didnt Honda just repaint the entire car when they had it? The quotes Im getting to repaint the affected areas range from $1500 to $2100. I trusted Honda due to my previous experiences, but this will be my last Honda. When Consumer Reports asked me if I would buy this car again, I had to answer No. When I hear or see those Helpful SoCal Honda Dealer commercials, I turn the channel. Theyll help complete strangers with things, but they wont help their own customers! Their quality has really gone downhill and they just dont seem to care.

In the past month my 2015 has had battery issues. Had to get car jumped a total of six/seven times in one month. Took car to Honda service department to have diagnostic. Little upset because I have little children and would never want to be stranded with my children do to their safety. Called corporate office, told them what happened. Made them aware that this is a safety issue. Referred me to case manager who told me that I would have to follow Honda service department suggestion and have car towed in. Next week car wouldnt start. Had car towed in to Honda who then did diagnostics and found battery was defective. Put new battery in car. Two days later (today), same thing car wouldnt start, Car towed back to dealership. Very Frustrating. Tried to get loaner and told all out and there was nothing they can do. Meantime losing money because hanging in Honda most of the day. Called corporate office and told them my dilemma and not being satisfied with service. Brushed me off and said that a case manager will return my call in 1 business day. Still no transportation to work. Not even reimbursement for rental. Not happy. Terrible customer support.

I purchased a new 2006 Honda Civic LX and now, 5 years and 41,000 miles later, the paint is fading and the clear coat is disintegrating! I regularly get my car cleaned and waxed, so it is not neglect. I park my car outside and the paint/clear coat should hold up! I went to Braman Honda in Lake Worth and they said my car was out of warranty - 3 years or 36,000miles. I got an estimate to repaint the roof and trunk lid (the hood had been repaired in Jan. 2011 due to a fender bender) and it will be $671 to repair. I am in the process of getting another estimate. There was a class-action suit for the visors in this vehicle and Honda extended the warranty for those to 7 years. Rather than improving on the design of the visor, they will replace it and after 7 years you are out of luck. I am pretty disgusted at this paint situation and even more so, since I see this is a prevalent problem with Honda - using poor paint and clear coat. I love my 2006 Honda Civic LX Coupe. It is a beautiful car and mechanically, it is fantastic. My friend just bought a 2012 Honda Civic EX. It is beautiful and I am reluctant to upgrade to a Honda because of this paint problem, unless I plan to repaint the car at a cost around $2,300 - $3,000. Honda, what is wrong with you guys? Please improve your paint and you will get rid of a lot of headaches! I want Honda to pay to have my car repainted with good quality paint. This car should last another five years, at least.

My son bought a 2003 Honda Accord. Three days after it was purchased, it wouldnt go into 3rd gear unless he just stepped on it or waited for the transmission to decide what to do. He asked the friend and she stated that it did it a few times with her and was told it was a clogged valve but nothing major. He checked with Honda and found out there was a recall; however, wouldnt you know the recall on the transmission had nothing to do with the problem he was facing. I started to do some research and see if there were other people with the same issue. I was absolutely astonished at how many complaints were filed with Honda and blogs and BBB and Consumer Affairs with the same exact problem. Ironically enough, the issues with all the complaints were that it was after all the warranties were expired, go figure. I decided to call Honda and just speak to them to see if Honda was investigating the issue since there were so many complaints, and the previous recall had nothing to do with this issue. Well, I was told that since we bought the car as is, Honda will not investigate the issue. I explained that we can get the lady we bought it from to call and she said that didnt matter because we bought the car, it was now in our name. Really? So you will listen to my complaint and I can file one with you, but basically you dont care because we just bought the car. The CS spokeswoman told me, Maam, I am more than willing to file your complaint, but yes, because you just purchased the car, there is nothing Honda can do. Wow, so you mean to tell me that there are thousands of complaints about the same issue, same model, same year and Honda is not willing to investigate the issue at hand? I have told my son, let this be a lesson learned, dont go by what everyone tells you that Hondas are good cars and they last forever, blah, blah, blah. I would even understand if there were only a few complaints about this issue. But I was amazed at how many there were about this and yet there seems to be no ongoing investigation to see if there was something that could be done. I am so very disappointed in Honda and their lack of concern about the safety and satisfaction of their consumers.

BEWARE. I love the car (2019 Honda Fit LX) and its almost perfect, with a few flaws that I had to get used to. One being the headlights dont turn off, the audio screen is always on, going from reverse to drive sometimes has me ending up in neutral, and the rear view camera is always getting dirty. Other than that I love the car and feel safe in it. Until today, after a month buying and driving this car NEW. I went to unlock the car and nothing worked. I went to try to unlock it manually with my key. The whole thing was dead. Had to call roadside assistants and they brought out AAA, who kept saying someone either was trying to break into my car or I pushed the panic button by mistake. No sir, all wrong. Im in a personal gated garage. Anyway, nobody could figure it out but eventually they came to the conclusion that the alarm system just glitched and that I can come in and have the guy turn the alarm off. WTF so I cant use the car with a panic alarm or else I risk the car having me locked out until someone comes to fix it? What is this a stolen iphone. I mean come on! Being unable to get into my car was very scary considering the fact that if I had left my phone inside the car by mistake and needed to unlock the car there would be no way of doing so! Everything works fine again for now but Im still feel uneasy about driving the car now. Again great customer service, nice car, and good driving vision from all views but one very unsafe experience. This car was purchased in Los Angeles, CA.

I have a new 2017 Honda Civic. I bought it in Oct. 2017. I have to jump start it every time I drive it, this is the worst Honda I have ever had. I have a 2006 Honda Civic. I bought it new. Its a better car than my new one. I take it to Honda. This just keep telling me its needs a new battery every time. Totally disappointed in Honda. About to park the car outside the dealership with a sign on it in protest. This has gone too far. I shouldnt be required to jump my car every time I want to drive it. Yesterday I woke up. Started it at 12 noon. I started it and then at 1 pm I need to go to the airport and damn car wont start at all. Somethings draining the power and Honda does nothing. Sure theres a lemon law in California. Already in contact with a attorney today. Will be the last time I visit this dealership. Ive bought 6 new Hondas. This will be the last. I will never give Honda a second thought.

Purchased a 2018 MDX Acura from Radley Motors, Baileys Crossroads, VA. Water leaked into the new vehicle for an unspecified time from the passenger seat window when it rained. Misaligned door from manufacturer. Honda & dealer being sued. You cannot repair water that has been entering a vehicle for an unspecified amount of time. Will impact the electrical system. Honda & the dealer are fighting this claim and has not been responsive. The vehicle is at the dealership & car payments are being made. Honda admitted the misaligned door. Dealer delivered a new car to purchasers that leaked.

I am the original owner of a 2013 Honda Accord EX-L. This car has never had service anywhere other than Honda dealership. Even oil changes. A few weeks ago I took it to have oil change and the recall on the battery sensor. When I got into car prior to service it would not start. The dealership told me that because the battery was involved it would do that. The problem progressively got worse until actually would not start. I took back to dealership and they told me it would cost $700.00 to replace the starter. The car has around 50 K miles on it. After I googled the issue with the recall and bad starter it seems that many other Honda owners are having this problem. I called Honda and the rep said that she has heard of this happening and was surprised but her supervisor stated that it was unrelated to the recall and will do nothing about it. I will never buy another Honda again!!! Very disappointed.

Now Im officially freaked out. I bought a 2021 new HR-V from Huntington Honda (NY) and I’m discovering this new car with all this rust. I showed it to two local mechanics who are shocked and confused as to why there is rust underneath the steering column. I also noted the rust underneath my 31-day old 2021 Honda HR-V. Is this normal? And is there missing insulation in the photo next to the steering column? Is that maybe why these models make a horrible annoying noise when driving 35 plus miles an hour? I’m talking about a piercing whistling noise whenever I crack open a window or moon roof, which according to Huntington Honda, the noise appeared in 2 other 2021 HR-Vs they test drove, and I’m supposed to live with this as if it’s normal. There’s video of this whistling issue in YouTube regarding a 2018 HR-V. In the comments for that video, you’ll see many other Honda HR-V owners complain about the same issue. Did I buy a lemon? Does Honda make bad cars or does Huntington just sell a batch of badly built Hondas. Im wondering if the 0% APR was just a ploy so they could get rid of defectively built cars. I bought this new HRV because I wanted a safe vehicle for my family. The purchase was supposed to be such a joyous thing. What a mistake! My entire family is flipping out! What the hell else is wrong w this car?Anyone experiencing this with the new Hondas or cars from Huntington Honda? Would I have had a better luck at a different Honda dealer? Should I have bought a Toyota, Nissan, or Hyundai? Im super stressed about how much I spent on this car, and no one from the dealer is calling me back, responding timely or willing to help me resolve this. BTW, heres the YouTube video of the horrible noise that these Hondas are making. **

What a joke. I leased a car from here for 3 years. 6 months before my lease was up I tried going to Honda because I needed a bigger car. They wanted to work no type of deal with me. Said wait out lease blah blah then told me my Honda loyalty could get me far? But clearly did not. I ended up going to Chevy. Worked out an amazing deal for me and I returned my Honda early and under the miles I was suppose to return it with. Of course Honda could fathom I went somewhere else and charged me a nice 375 which was explained to me, Oh that’s because you didn’t get another car with Honda... like what? I returned your car mint condition under miles and EARLY. You charge me a fee for not staying with you when you didn’t want to work anything out with me when I tried? A joke! Can’t stand this company and I tell all my family and friend to stay clear of Honda.

Hello, I visited Metro Honda service center on 4/8/2019 for regular service
Hello, I visited Metro Honda service center on 4/8/2019 for regular services. They change oil in my car on 28,503 miles and my current miles is 30,245 so just after I drive 1742 miles my cars oil life is 60% left. Actually when my car was on 30,000 miles that time I found that my cars oil life is now just 60% left. I clearly feels that this service center done something wrong with my car because as per my research I know that Honda Civic 2016 Ex-T model have synthetic oil and that have normally life of 7500 miles. In my car already 40% oil life is finished so I will get oil change soon around at 31,500-32,000 miles (from now after 1500 to 2000 miles). Every time I go to this service center and they are only the people changing oil in my car when this time I went there that customer service representative asked me that, Why are you just coming here for oil change and and why tire rotation and other services you are not giving us to do it here. I told them because they are charging too much money and not doing proper services so then customer service representative told me that, then why do you came here for oil change, go to the another service center who ever is giving you cheaper service, and that time I didnt give him any answer but I feel that this is not the right way to talk with the Honda customer. I am using Honda car because I have trust on the company. I strongly feels they did something wrong with my cars oil that why 40% of oil life finished too much early and previously I never seen that my oil life reduce this much faster. I am using my car daily. I have another same model car that is also 2016 Honda civic Ex turbo model and same silver color but that car I bought from another dealer and in that car also I drive same mileage and still in that car I change my cars oil around at 6000+ miles every time. I have trust on Honda that why I am using two same model of cars because I am driving it everyday. So I want refund for this oil change and also I want proper service for my car. I clearly feels that Metro Honda from where I bought my car and there I am going every time for oil change they did something wrong. Also, one more thing I would like to describe here that is before around 10 months ago at this service center they found that in one of my cars back side tire due to manufacturing fault there was something wrong with the brake and that they found after 2 years and 3 months after I drive my car for 24000 miles around. This is the thing which is risky for someones life. So you can imagine how much great services they are providing to the Honda customers.I want you to know that this is not a good business practice where they didnt behave good with the Honda customer and not giving them proper service. Please take some strict action on this and I want a clear justice for my car. Please fix my cars oil life problem. I hope I will get back very soon from the Honda Company and please solve the issue in my car with the oil life. -Harsh

A week ago, I had a good experience with Honda sales which included a Salesman patiently pairing my phone with the Bluetooth. A week after the connection kept breaking which was verified by the salesman. He tried to connect his own phone to my Bluetooth and was unable to do so. Subsequently another salesman tried another phone which he was able to connect. The second salesman went into the service department to see if he could get any help at which time the Service Manager informed him that Honda does not support the (originally Sprint) Virgin Mobile service and showed him the Honda Canadian Website. I wrote to the Sales Manager, explaining that: 1) I was never informed that the Bluetooth was only available with certain providers, 2) My phone had worked for a week, 3) Another salesman was not able to pair his phone either and 4) My phone clearly recognizes the Honda Bluetooth even though the Honda Bluetooth has stopped recognizing my phone. I need to be helped. Have not heard back from him. Please help. Thanks.

2000 Honda Accord EX-V6 4spd Automatic - I began having issues with my transmission about a month ago. It started with slippage then hard shifting into reverse, and now, it hardly shifts from 1st into 2nd. It holds 1st way too long then shifts out of 1st, slips, and then slams into 2nd, causing the shift indicator light to blink and a check engine light code. The car was purchased new and currently has 130,000 miles. From what Ive read on the internet, it is a common recurring problem that Honda is aware of. I feel there needs to be an extended recall to 150,000 miles.

Model Accord - System/Structure/Body/Trunk Lid. We have had our 2014 Honda Accord for just over one year. All of our family members have been hit in the head or back by the trunk. The trunk does not stay open on even a modest grade but does not fall down for several seconds, allowing people to lean into the trunk before it hits them. Injury to death more likely from the trunk lid. I have owned 10 cars and have never had one where the trunk lid will not remain up. 2014 Honda Accord problems and complaints, up-to-date recall information and reviews. The car is under powered, electrically and gas horse power. They could and should have done better, thats why the car is not selling. Additionally, if it is raining and you get caught in it the car does weird unpredictable things, clunking along and lose power. Couple days later it was fine again. Now Chevrolet came out with a Corvette C8, looks like what an NSX should have been, even has a Targa top. I should have waited.

This is a 2008 Honda CR-V with current miles of 39,271 which was delivered June 26, 2008 from White Plains Honda Westchester New York.It is with great concern that I am forced to express my disgust in realizing that the right front strut of the vehicle mentioned above has ceased to be functional, not withstanding that fact that this occurred right after the time of the warranty expiration and with the vehicle only achieving the miles stated above.I am hereby requesting that special consideration be given to the replacement of the defective strut as an act of good faith, bearing in mind that the vehicle has never been in an accident and is only driven from home to office, to the supermarket and occasionally to transport a family member to and from the airport. In addition, all the service schedules has been adhered to at the New Rochelle Honda Dealership that is closer to my home. I am happy with the performance of the vehicle otherwise, except at approximately 3,000 miles the entire steering assembly had to be replaced due to excessive power steering under steer (very stiff). The matter with the right front strut is unresolved and await your prompt and positive response in this important matter. Please allow me to quote an excerpt from one of your honda advertisement on the airways, After all this vehicle is a Honda

There is an ignition switch recall - Same make, Same model, Same year as my Honda Civic, but they will not repair my ignition switch because my VIN doesnt match the recalled VINs, even though they have the diagnostic from the Honda tech saying that it IS, in fact, faulty and needs to be changed to avoid further DYING in the middle of a busy intersection or interstate! When I contacted American Honda, they told me that it was just Coincidental and even DENIED that that was the case until I had PAPERS showing that it was from their very own technicians! Jerks.

I purchased a 2002 Honda. I was refused a test drive. The air conditioning was not working and the radio didnt work. I took it in for service for the air conditioning, then the maintenance required light was on. After receiving the serviced car, it stalled when making turns 4 days later. I took the car to a Honda dealer to have it checked and was told it was the timing belt causing the engine to cease and low oil. My question is, the car was in the shop less than a week prior and doesnt work. I attempted to return the vehicle to the dealer. Coleman is refusing to take it back. Honda car is a dud and Coleman refuses to satisfy the customer.

2009 Honda Odyssey purchased out right. From the very first day this van pulled slightly to the left and would on regular occasions pop the steering wheel right out of my hands. I took it to the dealer so many times I lost count. I even had it reported to the general manager for doing a service test drive on the van. They’re claiming nothing was wrong. Yet this would happen out of the blue and catch me off guard. I felt very unsafe in this van and they would not trade it or swap it out. I now wonder if I had financed it if they would have paid better attention. The consequences were I got fed up with Saratoga Honda messing me around. The van spent more time there than in my possession, so I traded it for a Hyundai and have had zero issues. In fact the service department in Queensbury, NY is far better than Honda in Saratoga. More polite more knowledgeable of their product and they treat me like a human being not an empty-headed female which is the way I felt I was being treated in Saratoga. No more business from me. I take my money elsewhere.
