Do you think you’re getting a good deal when you buy a Honda. It turns out that the way they make their money off he was by nickel and dime and you throughout the ownership experience. The dealers will make money off you with the ridiculous service intervals from the car. The financial services part of Honda will make money off of you from hitting you with all sorts of fees. The cost of ownership of a Honda is much higher than people realize, because the company‘s business model is to sell good cars are reasonable prices, and then screw you for the remainder of your ownership experience. This was my first Honda, and it will be my last. I have since moved on and bought an Audi, and while the upfront cost is higher, the ownership experience is night and day different. I don’t feel like I’m getting screwed over every single interaction I have with the dealer or the company.

I was very frustrated. My new Honda City 1.5 S (purchased on 23.05.2011) was sent for a fourth preventive maintenance on 27.03.2012 on a check-all indicator, check aircon malfunction and check alarm triggered when the car locked at the dealer (Kah Motor’s job sheet **). After 6 weeks, I received a call on 08.05.2012 from my dealer that Honda reported there were four burnt spare parts (electrical boards) and were not under warranty claim! Then, I requested for an explanation on this warranty exclusion, but I still don’t have a reply till now! I need this matter to be investigated immediately.

I am an old customer in Honda Egypt where Ive been riding Honda cars for eight years until now. First, I had Honda City 2004. The window sensors did not work, then the car keys did not work. They fixed these problems at the customer service center and said that this is a rare case and wont happen again but even then I sold the car. Later, I bought Civic 2007 when it was first launched in Egypt. The car mileage is 56000 km. From day one, I had the same problems with the keys that is not fixed until now. Then suddenly, the motor base needed to be changed where the car mileage was 32000 km and they said at the customer service that this was a manufacturing problem in this car. Later, I found that the steering wheel box needs to be changed because of a manufacturing problem as they said at Honda customer service center also. Besides all these problems, now I am facing more problems where there are many parts needed to be changed beneath the car, in the front suspension system and the scissors. I cant believe this anymore. I always get bad Honda cars! After all these problems, I see that there must be an action taken to end this disaster. These problems, I shouldnt face them while Im driving a Honda car. I bought a car with zero level of quality and I wont accept it. So please, Im looking forward to get a response from you as soon as possible and to know whats the next step you, as a company, will take because based on this next step, Im also going to move. I will contact you before I take any formal action here in Egypt because I expect whats said in your policy that you care about your customers satisfaction and I think you do care also about your Honda reputation here. Thanks.

My son purchased a new 2013 Honda CRX from Colby Honda, Northridge, CA. When he took his car in for the last service they impounded his car for what they said, a period of about two months. Further, they told him he would not receive his car back until the airbag is replaced or he signed a waiver releasing Honda from any liability for damage or injury caused by the faulty airbag. The dealership did provide my son with a poor quality 2002 loaner car that had 100,040 miles on the odometer. Last week he took a trip and the cars engine warning light came on.In the meantime my son is making the monthly payments for his impounded Honda CRX. He tried to contact Honda Corporation and was referred back to the dealership. The customer service person at the dealership was rude and not helpful. I believe Honda should provide its customer with a loan car that is at least equal to the car he is making payments on or waive his scheduled payments until they return his car. The airbag problem is the responsibility of Honda, not the customer. I would assume numerous other customers are dealing with this same issue. In the meantime, Honda continues to sell and deliver new cars that must have compliant airbags. What can be done to correct the problem?

We saw on the news one night that Honda would be recalling their CRV 2005 - 2007 for faulty driver side window door switches that could catch fire. Our window hadnt been working for a couple months, so I emailed our dealer and made an appointment to bring it in the next day. (BTW, I bought a new 2012 luxury edition CRV and gave my 2005 to my daughter.) The recall is not even being mailed to owners until the beginning of November! My daughter woke up at 4am to find the cars driver’s side door in flames, which quickly ignited the entire cab! The engine looks brand new and wasnt touched, but the car is a complete loss and devastating to look at, not to mention the emotional job it took on my daughter as she watched her car (and like a typical teen that lives out of their car, all her most prized possessions) go up in flames. When I called Honda (first shaking over the fire and then angry that I could have lost my child in this tragedy), they could not have cared any less. Many people told me to hire a lawyer including the service manager at the dealership where I bought both cars. He said Honda wont do anything and you will have to lawyer up. My husband and I talked and just need the insurance company to cover the car, and we are going through our homeowners policy for her more than $3,000 worth of personal property. The insurance agency is going after Honda for their reimbursement and said they will also attach the list of lost personal property for them to reimburse. Oh, one more thing, my 2012 Honda CRV also had a recall - not the driver’s door window switch but nonetheless ... Would I buy a Honda again? Toyota is looking mighty fine these days!

A week ago, I had a good experience with Honda sales which included a Salesman patiently pairing my phone with the Bluetooth. A week after the connection kept breaking which was verified by the salesman. He tried to connect his own phone to my Bluetooth and was unable to do so. Subsequently another salesman tried another phone which he was able to connect. The second salesman went into the service department to see if he could get any help at which time the Service Manager informed him that Honda does not support the (originally Sprint) Virgin Mobile service and showed him the Honda Canadian Website. I wrote to the Sales Manager, explaining that: 1) I was never informed that the Bluetooth was only available with certain providers, 2) My phone had worked for a week, 3) Another salesman was not able to pair his phone either and 4) My phone clearly recognizes the Honda Bluetooth even though the Honda Bluetooth has stopped recognizing my phone. I need to be helped. Have not heard back from him. Please help. Thanks.

I have a three-month-old 2013 Honda Odyssey (bought in May 2013). Never had any problems prior (second Odyssey we have owned). But on this particular Saturday, I was about to leave in the vehicle, and I found the drivers window shattered, with about half the glass in the car and the other half on the ground by the door. It had been rolled up completely and the temp was around 90 that day... so nothing unusual. I had just walked by the car (on my driveway) and it was fine. Then a few moments later it was busted. No one around, no object in the car...nothing. So we took pictures then went to clean the glass up and covered the window until we could take it to the local dealer on Monday. After they inspected it, they announced they could not do anything as it did not appear to be a defect. I was told to contact Honda Corp which we did. After 24 hours to review, we got the same reply. The Warranty states clearly that broken, cracked or chipped glass is not covered unless manufacturing defect. However, upon further investigation, I found many others online who this happened to... and as recent as 2011, Honda recalled 2,800 vans for just this reason. On the NHTSA site, it states that the window may shatter into passenger cabin causing a risk of injury. So I am disappointed that I got such a cold shoulder from Honda dealer and Corp, as I WAS a satisfied customer. If I had accidentally broken this window...no sweat. I have $600 to replace it and I am not a complainer. But I am worried this problem has not been corrected and this could happen to someone that could put them in jeopardy. So I wanted to get my story out there. I hope I am the last one.

I have a 2010 Honda Accord 4cl and have over 99,000 miles on it. I have brought my car in and also called the Dover, NH location. My car is using more than the 5qt. oil amount when I get my oil changed. Your employees response, I could pay for an oil change and maybe be reimbursed; However, if it is more than a quart over a 1,000 miles they wont pay for it. So, basically Honda is aware of the problem and is bullying customers! There is a recall and an extended warranty. I showed them the paper I received from Honda about the pistons sticking etc. My car is starting to make a noise also when it starts as well. I need it fixed. No one should have to go back several times to have an issue fixed. Just like the airbags! People are dying and your company should be fixing these issues. I have been very nice and patient. Your employees, NOT!!!

Today I called and talked to American Honda. Ill start off with saying the worst customer service ever. They dont even offer to help you. They just apologize 10,000 times and then want to go about their way. My car isnt covered under the warranty for paint. For reasons I dont even understand. I have an 09 Civic. The paint is starting to deteriorate. It looks like someone literally took a scrub brush to my car and is in the beginning stages of my paint chalking. This is a 7-year-old car. Ive seen cars that are 15 years old that have better paint jobs than mine and they have been untouched. The only okay thing about my Honda is that it hasnt broken down on the side of the road yet. American Honda is the biggest joke of a company and so unwilling to help people. The issue needs to be pushed. My car is Crystal Black Pearl. I know its one of the color codes accepted for the repaint but my VIN isnt under the warranty nor did I get a letter. (I am not the original owner of this car.) Im more than displeased. They look cheaper and cheaper every year.

Hondas PHEV Clarity cannot properly charge at public charging stations, specifically ChargePoint with dual ports. It handles fine at home with a dedicated 30A charger. We bought the car to take advantage of an employee benefit of free charging (up to 3 hours), but the vehicle cannot sustain uninterrupted charging. Numerous attempts to restart charging will cause the vehicle to malfunction including inability to start the car. This will result in waiting for at least 3 hours to allow the system to auto-recover from the multiple plug-in/plug-out attempts. Issue has been diagnosed by a local dealer, but Honda is too slow to address the problem.

In addition, all the service schedules has been adhered to at the New Rochelle Honda Dealership that is closer to my home. I am happy with the performance of the vehicle otherwise, except at approximately 3,000 miles the entire steering assembly had to be replaced due to excessive power steering under steer (very stiff). I am driving a HONDA MOBILIO Car in INDIA which was bought by me on 2015. On 16/11/2015 in Chennai we had heavy rain and we drove this car to court as an emergency case. But all of a sudden the car engine has stopped by itself without any reasons. Then we towed our car to the dealer in Chennai for an inspection. The service engineer told us that the rain water has entered in Engine. We all surprised to hear that. Is it possible? And we had a doubt that these HONDA cars are not suitable for rainy seasons. IF the water gets into an engine it is purely manufacturing defect. But the dealers is looking for an insurance person to change some spares. No one has intended to file a complaint in HONDA. We are not ready to accept this car by changing some spares. It will affect the home setting of the car. My question is this. Will HONDA replace our entire car if it a manufacturing defect? We have noticed that about ten cars are in dealers garage. We have discussed with HONDA dealer for the replacement. But no response from them. We wish HONDA manufacturer should intervene with dealer to replace the entire car. In other words HONDA should declare our cars are not suitable for rainy conditions. Such a surprise from the dealers. They are not ready to escalate this issue to manufacturer. They are looking for an insurance people to cover the cost. We need response from HONDA manufacturer to solve this issue.

My issue is my 2013 Honda CRV I financed 3years ago. Vehicle has been stalling and throwing all kinds of codes out there. Almost put 2000 into it just getting it towed. Car stalled in middle of busy street, I almost got hit. I took it to my local PEP Boys and they did 500 worth of work to it, stopped the next day. I took it back to pep boys and they kept it for 3days. And said they didnt have technology to fix what was wrong with it. I got it towed to my dealership where I financed and the symptoms got worse. More codes, misfires, spluttering, stalling, shaking. Hill-Kelly Dodge my dealer said to have it towed to my manufacturer which is Honda. My vehicle has been there for days, the advisor called day2 and said all it needed was gas. I said, Really I keep gas in my car. She also said it was driving good. I refused to pick up. I told her this has been going on for years. She kept it and said they would just run it and see if anything happens. Eventually it did. It started throwing codes again and misfiring. So she said they would work on it and hopefully see what they could find. I called honda corporation and email twice. Representatives were horrible. Its was, What do you want us to do about this problem. I said, Your company made the car. This is a big safety issue. The representative just started talking about random stuff. I was very dissatisfied with the customer service there. I really wanna get a case started against this company. I will never buy another honda vehicle about this.

I am having intermittent electrical and electronic issues with both of my 2017 Hondas. I use to think Honda was a smart purchase but at this point I would never buy another Honda and I will also include Acura as the electronics are likely similar. Really disappointed with these two cars, thank god I leased them. Can’t wait to send them back. The dealers seem like they are so overwhelmed with complaints they will say anything to make you go away. Well guess what? After the lease I have.

I recently used the Honda roadside service and wanted to file a complaint. The driver was extremely unprofessional and gives Honda a negative reputation. The driver picked up my vehicle and me. He then proceeds to carry out personal errands while a customer is in the vehicle with him. This included picking up his two kids from summer school and having them sit in the front seat with me and himself and then waiting at his home for his wife to show up and look after them while I am in the tow truck. We finally left for the destination one hour and a half later. I am absolutely appalled by the lack of professionalism from the autoshop and especially from Honda for working with this shop and will be following up on this. Disgusting service from this company.

2011 Honda Pilot - I was surprised to learn that my accelerator is controlled by a computer. Recently, the TP sensor was not working properly and the car had a mind of its own. I had no control over the car. The car took off ... power steering failed and brakes locked up. I was, thankfully, in my driveway. I cant believe this is not a warranty issue. Honda should replace my sensor for free. They just reset the sensor and charged me $126. I am trying to sell the car. I fear this will happen again soon. Please consider this situation.

I purchased a Certified Pre-owned 2013 CRV. When I was setting up the electronics, my battery died, after about 15 minutes of not running. Honda told me it was natural because there are so many electronic devices it cant keep a charge. So I took it in, they tested the battery, and it read good. I took the car to a battery shop, they tested it and it showed it had 6% of its life left. The tech said Honda service is supposed to try and not replace anything at Hondas expense, so they tweak their testing machines. I dont know if that is true or not, but Hondas tester said my battery was good, and this tech said it had 6% life remaining. The testing machines were the same brand. So I took my Honda to be outfitted for towing behind my RV. I followed the book directions, which says if you are towing more than 8 hours, pull fuse 17. I was towing 20 minutes, just to get home, so I didnt pull fuse 17. Lo and behold, my battery was dead when I got home. I thought Certified Pre-Owned meant that all parts of the car would last per their warranty, not a battery that would die the same day you drive it off the lot. So I am headed back to Honda. If they replace my battery, Ill write a nice report. If they dont and I have to go to an aftermarket battery, at my own expense, Ill get my moneys worth writing bad things about Honda.

We were looking at vehicles to replace 2 we had. We have both retired and really dont need 2 cars. I had purchased a Spyder Eclipse 4 yrs ago which I had hated 1 hr past taking it home and a Nissan. The Honda dealership we were familiar with I had test drove cars there before. We went there after we got a online sale price. They were wonderful to deal with. Answered all our questions. Took both cars as trade-ins. Explained all the bells and whistles of the car to us. I love that it is 4 wheel drive-a crossover from a SUV. The back seats fold down completely. The back doors blend in giving the car an awesome look plus it has the wiper in the back window, cameras in the back and on the right to turn.

I bought my Civic Sedan LX 2012 on February 4, 2012 from the Honda dealer at Manhasset. I only have a little over 5,000 miles on it because I mostly only use it to commute to work during the weekdays. One of the reasons I bought a Honda car instead of any other was because of its high standard and reputation for making great motor vehicles that don’t break down easily. This past week, my car, for the second time within a year, had to go back to the shop for maintenance and repairs due to water leaking into the gas tank. The first time this happened was back on September 2, 2012.I had the car taken to Hillside Honda to be inspected. When they looked into it, they found that water had gotten into the gas tank. Ive been going to the same gas station near my house ever since I bought this car, and nothing like this ever happened before either to me or anyone who goes there. My family, friends and co-workers all blamed Honda for a manufacture defect. But even though I felt bad about this case, I didnt blame Honda at all and in fact, finished off paying off for the car this past January 8th - 11 months after I bought the car and much earlier than the initial 3 year plan I signed up for. Then now, only a few months later, the same thing happened.I can only deduce that either I believe there was a mechanical deficiency, to begin with, in the car when I originally bought it, or when I had the car fixed and the people at Hillside Honda said that they put all new parts; they put the same ones back because the exact same thing happened. It’s a brand new model and I demand something be done about this because now I have a phobia about driving this car, and because I don’t know when or where my car might stop. Safety should be a priority on any vehicle. Luckily both times, I was near my house when this happened; God knows what could have happened if the car chose to stop on the highway. If something like this happened 5 years after I bought the car, I would surely take responsibility for it; but how can something like this happen twice within the first year? This is unacceptable and totally unfair for me to have to take responsibility for. Not only do I want Honda to recall this vehicle and pay for the costs in having to repairing this vehicle for breaking down both last time and this time, but I would also like a refund for the car itself. If I didnt care much about having to constantly care for my car, I would have bought a used model and at a significantly lower price. I trusted Honda’s integrity even after last September’s incident, which made me pay off the rest of the car without any further doubts; but now, I know I made a mistake in thinking so.

I am Raj ** and I am working in a private company. I purchased a new Honda bike to sell our house which is in Delhi. I purchased a Honda Shine from Race Honda Patpargani, New Delhi. Date of sale was August 14,2011. But it is not running straight on the road, there is a problem bubbling in my bike. I checked the bike the next day, August 15, 2011.In the showroom, they loose the screw of the handle and told me that my bike was okay. But the problem is the same. When I went back there the next day, August 17, 2011, I asked why is it having the same problem. The showroom manager told me that I should go to their workshop. So I went to the workshop on August 24, 2011 and met the workshop manager, Mr Ashwani **. He told me that the rear rim found the band because of the speed breaker and digs, he said they cannot do anything for me and I have to pay around Rs 3,700 for it. I was shocked when I heard it. Then I decided to complain to the Honda Bike Company. The telephone numbers are 2290911, 2290912, 2290913. I do not feel good about them, compared to other companys customer care. But after all that, one Honda engineer Mr. Umesh came, I was hoping he could help me. But he was so busy with his cellphone and he didnt listen to a single word I said, he just told me that my bike is not under warranty so I need to pay for the repair. The parking charge was Rs50 extra, so I was so unhappy that I asked him why do I have to pay for parking and a rim. Then he told me that I have purchased a Honda bike, and that he will not give me a favor. After all that, I think I took the wrong decision to purchase a Honda Shine. My bike is still in the workshop. What can I do now. Can I fire myself?

Basically, the dealer I bought it from, the dealer I normally work with for service and Honda of America (HoA) customer service, all have repeatedly said normal wear and tear, -past warranty. They (HoA) offered a $1,000 fix with a discount to $450. Woopie ding! I have been a loyal Honda accord owner for over 20 years based on quality and customer service. What I have experienced recently was not customer service. Sad, very sad. This is my 3rd Honda minivan and will be my last, since Honda doesnt want to stand behind their paint job on my van that is peeling in multiple areas. I was told by general manager at a Honda dealership to file a claim on it. I called, filed a claim. They gave me a case number. Had me take it to local Honda dealer to have it inspected. The case manager from Honda called me after about 2 weeks and told me the cost to repaint my whole van is $2,319.42 and I would have to pay $1700 of it since Im out of warranty he said. I told him I wasnt out of warranty. When I called the man told me I was still under warranty. This case manager wanted to argue with me saying what I was told was wrong.I just read an article on Consumer Reports that Honda extended their paint warranty to 7 years and unlimited mileage. My van was bought new 2014 and its only 4 years old with 95k miles. I even have a body shop who fixed my tailgate under the care plan I bought additionally but they said when they went to fix the tailgate from the peeling paint it was so bad the paint came off in strips and that paint didnt adhere to the primer if any primer was even put on it. But the van is also peeling now in additional areas and Honda thinks I should have to pay $1700.I told the caseworker if Honda had did the paint job the right way the first time I wouldnt be having this problem, I said I would be willing to split the cost to paint the whole van but will not pay most of it. This was last week. The case manager said he would relay my response and I havent heard back from them. I have had a total of 5 minivans: 3 Hondas, 1 Nissan Quest and 1 Chrysler Town and Country and this 2014 Honda van is the only one I have ever had paint peeling off of it.

My 2004 Honda Accord Coupe started jerking at 78,000 miles. I had someone look at it who is a mechanic for the FBI. He said there was very little transmission fluid in the car and that was unusual. Two weeks after he put in transmission fluid, I was alone in the city and my car would not go into reverse. I panicked and called this man who recommended a transmission place. The cost was $2,550 to have the work done. I am a single mom and had to rent a car for the week it took to replace the transmission. This cost an additional $200. I looked up Honda car problems and this is a common problem with my car. I called Honda and they said that my VIN was not a car that was documented as having a problem. I have since had the car repaired and it still doesnt feel quite right. The transmission company asked if I would bring the car back in three weeks, so that they can check that everything is working properly.

Okay, I was a very, very firm believer in owning a Honda. My entire family
Okay, I was a very, very firm believer in owning a Honda. My entire family literally is driving one or has owned one. Even a lot of my extended family and I always vouched for them when people asked about my car. After I found out about the recall in June of 2016, through my sister mind you, I immediately wondered why I was barely finding out about my airbag recall now when someone people had known months before. Later that day I went onto the website to punch in my VIN number and check to see if my vehicle was a part of the unlucky bunch. Unfortunately, it was and my passenger bag was the airbag up for recall. And it just so happens that my boyfriends Honda, which is the same make and model as mine but a year newer, had the same passenger airbag recall as mine.So I called to speak with someone. They gave me the same bit as everyone. You can still drive it. Just dont have a passenger. But I did try to explain my boyfriend had the same problem and if we could just get one alternate transportation vehicle because we are not about to take two separate cars to the grocery store, out of town, or anywhere else that requires us to carpool. They just gave me some ** excuse that there was nothing they could do. For now I should avoid having anyone sit in the passenger side. They suggested I would be fine because my airbag shuts off when no one is in the passenger side and I tried to explain to them MANY, MANY times that my light doesnt turn on to indicate that my airbag is off and of course, same thing goes for my boyfriends car. Of course, that made their ears perk up and I finally got their attention. Or so I thought.Long story short, I called another 15 times, give or take. Every time I got the runaround and no one could help me. Its now the middle of August and someone has FINALLY returned my call regarding this and wouldnt you know it, Ive been denied alternate transportation and they will just order me the part to have my car repaired. Who knows when that will even be. Of course, I may have to pay out of pocket for the defective off switch on the airbag so that was some GREAT news to hear.Regardless, fixing my passenger airbag off switch doesnt fix my problem at all. Both me and my boyfriend have the same car with the same problem. We live together and have NO other means of transportation when we run errands or go out of town. The fact that Honda is just going to take a chance with mine or my boyfriends life is just remarkable. Thank you Honda for showing me your true colors. I will NEVER, EVER purchase another Honda again and I dont plan to refer people to your business. I do plan to tell people of my experience with your company and how youve handled this recall. My recommendation, dont buy a Honda. Avoid, at all costs, purchasing a Honda. Worst customer service of the year. Honda, you are all cowards and I hope you get whats coming to you.

Ive enjoyed my 2003 Honda Odyssey as a family car and also to haul garden materials. The seats are comfy and the overall driving experience is good. My main complaint is twofold. First, it gets only about 16 miles to the gallon around town/18 on the freeway. This is pretty poor by any standards. And second, the clear coat on the dark green paint job has failed; this began within 8 years of purchase. Large portions of the horizontal surfaces have peeled off, leaving a white residue, while the vertical surfaces still look very nice. I see other Odysseys around town of the same vintage and they all have the same problem. And a quick look on the web shows that this is a massive problem. I am looking forward to buying a new car soon but will not be buying a Honda due to the paint problem. Its a shame really as the car has performed well.

I bought a new 2009 Honda Accord in April 2009. Crest took a photo of the premature wear and the service rep said he would review my issue with the service provider. In December, Honda customer service called me and stated wear on leather seats are considered normal wear and tear and therefore not covered under warranty. I intend to file a BBB claim against Crest Honda and Honda. By denying my claim, they are admitting the leather will show significant signs of wear before 36,000 miles. Leather should not be considered a wear and tear item but should be covered under defective materials if it shows wear within the warranty period.

The car was not involved in a minor crash prior to our purchase, it was involved in a total of 2 collisions with moderate damage and air bag deployment. Further research and appraisal recently reveals frame/structural damage throughout and nobody wants it. The deceptive business practices used by Honda of Burleson Texas are repulsive. The car is great, runs good, has no mechanical flaws etc. but we will never be able to part ways with it.

I really love Honda but from now on I will not buy this brand anymore after they denied my complaint about the rusted I have on my two years old car with only 20000 miles in it. I have to fix it at the body shop with my own cost. The Honda technician blame on the accident reported that may cause the paint scraped off. But accident report did not really tell what kind of accident. So I took the car to body shop and they told me the problem start at the door seal have a hole right at the rust is. It cost me only $150 to fix the problems. Honda technician smart enough get my tiny problem fix instead denied it. You guys losing one customer and this message will passing on to other.

Don’t waste your money, the car is made of plastic, you lean on it or even knock something lightly against it you will have a dent. For a $26,000 car. The sensor system is piece of **! Lights come on for no reason, I take it to Honda and they want to charge hundreds of dollars to fix problems that I did not cause as I keep the maintenance and upkeep on the car up. The tires are **! I have a Honda Civic 2009. The paint started to crack and peel from two years ago. The peeling and cracking is now everywhere on the car. It was a shame everywhere I went in these two years. Since I bought the car used, I thought the car was repainted because of an accident. However, I recently searched online and found out that this is a widespread problem for various Honda models!!! I called Honda customer service and was told that because my car is just out of warranty (for twenty days) the repaint job should be done on my own expense, no matter the problem was persistent for last two years. Putting aside how much shame and discomfort this car has brought for me in these years, I was shocked how rude and irresponsible they are in dealing with their loyal customers. My suggestion to you all my friends is: NEVER go for Honda for your new car! Compared to the value and respect other automotive manufacturers like Toyota, etc would provide, it is crazy to invest your money on a car that brings discomfort for you when the company also refuses to take responsibility for their defective products.

I said go ahead fix it, same day I called the dealership that car was overheating and shutting off after they did work on it, they completely denied it that they only touched the AC but I have proof from other repair shops there was nothing wrong with my car, I took my car for one thing, I don’t know what they did, it damaged another thing, now they say is a bad battery, a bad alternator and a bad AC compressor, but that’s not what they told me at first when I took my car to have my AC fixed, what can I do?

I had to replace the brakes at 20555 miles, again at 35936 and then again at 53150. Honda accepts no responsibility for this problem. They insult my intelligence by blaming me for the premature wear. I have paid out over $600 on brakes so far. The oil pressure switch went out to at a little over 53000 miles, another $300. Battery also died after 2 years (replaced by warranty). The car has not been very dependable and is expensive to maintain. I want to sue them for the brake problems that they refuse to acknowledge!

I bought my 02 Accord brand new, and now have 174K on the clock. Ive replaced the transmission 3 times, and finally found a shop here in San Francisco that built it correctly. They told me that Honda transmissions are unlike any other standard transmission design and they fail often. Theres too much pressure kept in the torque converter, and not enough return fluid for the unit to function correctly. There are several aftermarket fixes, of course, that you have to pay for. When I picked my car up at the shop, there were 3 Accords, 3 Odysseys and 2 MDXs. I called American Honda to ask for some sort of help seeing as this is my 3rd time around the pony show - nothing. Shame on Honda for being so stupid in their design. Im not going back for more.

I called Honda because I bought a new 2016 HR-V EX AWD which has the keyless system. The owners guide states I can unlock all doors with the trunk release. It does not and I learned that the owners manual states something different. I also complained to the phone contact because the only door that opens all doors is the passenger door, unlike past vehicles I have had where pushing the button twice opens all doors. I was told this was a security feature of the vehicle. However, it would be just as secure if it required two pushes for all doors and only the current handle grab for the drivers door. When I asked how to get both issues repaired I was told the drivers door was engineered that way and could not be fixed because it was not broken. They will be calling back about the trunk to clarify which is correct, the owners guide or owners manual.I was pleased the company is willing to respond quickly but am entirely dissatisfied with their denial that the doors could be altered given that this version of the car is quite a bit more money than the version with remote entry instead of keyless entry. As the driver, I either have to fish the key fob out of my purse or make my kids wait until I am inside the car to let them in. Im having to train them to stop yanking on the door handles until I am inside. Worse is that I cannot open the back doors myself without the same maneuvering, difficult if I am hauling items I have stored in the back seat.

I own a 2008 Honda Ridgeline that is at about 60,000 miles. I have taken especially good care of this vehicle with regular maintenance updates. Overall, other than the poor gas mileage (best is 20 mpg on highway), it has been a good vehicle. The problem is that two exhaust sensors have had to be replaced already at a cost almost $1,000.00, not to mention waiting at the Wilde Honda Dealership in Sarasota, Florida for many hours at a time. I cant imagine why the sensors have gone out already, and the incredible costs they have incurred. Honda has a reputation for build quality. Unfortunately when they do need repairs, the cost is an arm and a leg. Just FYI my other car, a 2010 Ford Flex has and still is running relatively problem free at 85,000 miles so far.

I have owned Hondas for about 20 years. Their build quality is not the quality of the 1980s/early 1990s. In the mid 90s, Honda went to OEM suppliers. That was the end of the high quality Hondas. If you are having issues or making a decision on buying, here are the problems that you will fix over and over: Starting issues. This is the biggest problem. These cars have a cold start issue. There is a temp sensor and main relay that just break over and over. No lights will go on the dash and no codes will come up to warn you they are bad. You have to have the spark plugs pulled to see if they are getting black residue on them. This can happen on new plugs. Why? The temp sensor adds fuel when it is cold and cuts back on fuel when hot. It works in reverse when it starts to fail (no way to detect). This will coat your engine and emission system with fuel crud that hasnt burnt. There is no way Honda doesnt know about the problem. You can search models from the 1990s to present day that have this issue. You can keep on top of it but the problem keeps returning.Paint. It will fail. It kills resale value. This has been going on since the 1990s. Detail shops will not wax the cars because the paint is so thin that a buffer will take it right off. Even hand waxing marks the paint. Headlights will cloud over. Over and over again. Door handles break. That is an expensive repair. Headliner will fall down. There is no way to re-attach it. They develop a leak in the cowl. This will rot out your floors. Oxygen sensor fails over and over. Radiator is plastic and glued together. It will fail in the 50 thousand range after the warranty is over. Then about every 50 thousand miles after that. There are several Honda Civics in the town I live in with the same make and paint color. All have the same problems with paint, headlights and door handles. The paint fails in the same spots. No recall from Honda. If you thinking of buying a used Honda for your childs first car, avoid them. These are not the cars for beginners. They will end up being towed. Contact Honda America? They do not respond. They do not care. They will care the next time I purchase a new car as it will not be a Honda. I was loyal, they think nothing of loyalty. I have people that own Hondas coming up to me to tell the problems they have had with their cars. Most of the people have pretty new Hondas. This makes me think that the build quality has gotten even worse in the last couple of years. Honda is no longer worth the extra money they charge.

That’s where I went to back to the Brookdale Luther dealership to try and change the car out but they said it past the 5 day grace period. I bought a 2013 Honda CRV. The battery would drain after 2-3 days of sitting idle. I got it checked repeatedly at the Honda service department when I bought the vehicle. They kept saying the parasitic draw was within specification, and to disconnect the battery cables if it was going to sit for more than 2 days. So each time I park the car on a Sunday and dont move again until Friday (I walk to work), I have to disconnect the cables, or use a solar charger (I park underground heated parking at my condo). They said it was fine and just to drive it more, for 1.5 hrs at a time every couple days to charge up the battery. Ridiculous! I own two other vehicles (different brands) and they can sit for a couple weeks and start no problem. Never had this before, and have since heard it is common on Hondas. I traded it in for a different vehicle and will never buy a Honda again. Honda Canada customer department refused to acknowledge the problem, as did the dealership.

I bought a second hand car from Honda in May last year (2017). This would be my first ever time buying a car. Everything went fine within the sales and I loved this car, which was a Holden Cruze 2014. I didnt have enough money saved and I did not have my apprenticeship long to afford it so I opted for the finance and was told everything about finance through my sales rep. The finance seemed good my circumstance and I went through with it. The finance women I spoke to was Ellie **. I stated my terms to her about the whole thing. She told me it would be a 5 year contract with 1 year fixed. After the 1 year fixed was up I could pay it all out with no interest or added fees. It seemed perfect for me and she went through it a couple of times to me. I felt it was perfect and she was in my corner for the finance.Something seemed fishy after I noticed I had no car user manual in the car. I called them up a lot and even visited. I never got any word back on the whereabouts of my car manual. Not until Monday (25th March, 2018). I called up again and spoke to a Michael. He followed everything up and ended up ordering me a new book. I then called up my finance, Skyline Car Finance about how much was owing and when my 1 year fixed would end. Thats where it went bad because they told me it was a 5 year fixed contract and that I would need to follow up with my dealership. I contacted Ellie who told me there was no such thing as a 1 year and that I would save on interest and theres an early exit fee. I went in today on a Saturday (31st March, 2018). I collected my book and talked to Ellie. She told me that it was a 5 year fixed from the start and that I misinterpreted it and that I should read my contract. I feel as if I have been sucked into a contract I would never have signed if I knew this. She also told me that heaps of people come in with the same reason I have. So the real question is, how many people is ripping off?

I received a recall notice for my 2015, which I leased at Millennium Honda in Hempstead NY. I scheduled my appointment to have to recall service done, 2 weeks in advance. On the day of my appointment (12/31/15) I took the day off from work a drove to the dealership. The service agent wrote up my job, took my car and asked me to wait in the waiting room as this service can take up to 90 minutes. After 100 minutes of waiting, I was summoned by my service agent who informed me that no work had been done on my car, as they did not have the parts to do the job.Its been 2 weeks since that first failed attempt at Millennium Honda, so I decided to schedule with another dealership. This time it was Advantage Honda in Manhasset NY. I was reassured by Stephanie who made my appointment for 1/16/16, that parts were available and that I would be afforded a free rental car due to the length of time this job would take. The day before the scheduled appointment, I double checked with Stephanie, that parts were available as well as the rental car, as I was driving a longer distance from my home. I was reassured by Stephanie that all was in place for my job today. When I arrived at Advantage Honda today, not only was I informed that they did not have the parts to do the recall service, but I was also not entitled to the free rental car. This is now 2 different dealerships with the same outcome. Ive got a brand new leased car in need of a potentially dangerous airbag related recall repair needed, and cannot find a Honda dealership that can perform the service. Shame on Honda!!

My previous Honda 2001 went through to 107,000 miles with only a loose transmission fluid hose. Amazing! This is not the case with my 2007 EX-L V6. The car was in four (4) repairs while on warranty! It had bad leather finish sticking out, rattle in rear door due to bad hinge, bad front brakes pulsating, complete failure of the whole AC system (the car was in repair almost two weeks for that one alone). Disgusting quality! Now, I did notice when the car was nearing the warranty end, I heard front cooling fans running long after the car shutdown. I got concerned and disconnected the fan wire and connected again, and the problem went away. A few weeks ago, my battery died. I put a new battery. I just noticed that my fan keeps running again for hours when the car is off. Turns out, there is something going on with relays. I am looking forward to dump this lemon as soon as I have enough money. I am not going back to Honda and I am educating everyone how bad Honda quality has become.

We purchased a 2011 Honda Civic from a private owner over 4 years ago (2014). Would you believe WE JUST got the title clear and in our name??? We kept getting someone from their customer service telling us they had fixed everything and would send out the title. Only to wait for weeks and never receive it. We couldnt register it until we held a title. They kept telling us they couldnt talk to us about why they couldnt release it??? WHAT? WE WERE THE OWNERS! This went on for months back and forth with a new person saying they were sending the title and going through the whole cycle again! Omgosh, so frustrating! I had to track the original owners down to help us, who had since MOVED OUT OF THE COUNTRY, and guess what? They (Honda) said that they had to be in a US OFFICE to sign some paper! We waited for them to come back for a visit to the U.S. and then thought everything was squared away, guess what? STILL DIDNT SEND THE TITLE. We ended up having to get an attorney and we used to be HUGE Honda fans.Never again will we buy a Honda. The customer service reps were always incredibly rude and disrespectful even hanging up on the original owner. Very, very, very disappointed in Honda to say the least. It is so loud that I can’t hear what is being said on the talk show. I took my 2020 Honda CRV into the Gunn Honda Service department and they tested the radio along with another new 2020 Honda CRV. So they said they could not fix the radio and justified their decision by using the disclaimer that says that the radio may experience static noise. Even Honda Corporate refused to help. My mechanic noted that there was something wrong with my CVT automatic transmission around 35K miles and recommended I take it into the dealer asap, which I did. After a number of visits and a lot of runaround, they rebuilt the transmission. At around 75K, it started showing signs of failure again, and unfortunately, this time I delayed until it had around 95K on it, thinking the extended 100,000 mile warranty on just this problem would cover it. No such luck, since it was 100K or 7 years, and as an early adopter buying the car in the fall of 2002, I was 1 or 2 months beyond the 7 yr limit. The dealer offered me no hope and backed that up by getting me rejection from the regional manager. Calls to American Honda fell on equally deaf ears. Car shakes - violently on hills - when starting from stop since faulty transmission basically has no start up gear. Probably used a plastic motorcycle part or something, who knows. Bottom line is, after driving this piece of junk that never got close to the advertised mileage, I regret ever buying a Honda and never will again. I know some, maybe most of their cars, are fine. Then again, I have friends with an Odyssey that had a similar problem with transmission failure 2x under 100K. Never again. Dont buy Honda, simply because they choose to not stand behind their products. Too bad - another corporation ruined by greed and short-sighted behavior. Im about ready to trade it in for $1,000 or whatever I can get and buy a new Ford Focus.

Yet this would happen out of the blue and catch me off guard. I felt very unsafe in this van and they would not trade it or swap it out. I now wonder if I had financed it if they would have paid better attention. The consequences were I got fed up with Saratoga Honda messing me around. The van spent more time there than in my possession, so I traded it for a Hyundai and have had zero issues. In fact the service department in Queensbury, NY is far better than Honda in Saratoga. A few years back on a cold February night, I was driving home as usual. I soon noticed a spark from the hood and realized that I should pull over. It took just about all my might to pull the car over into a parking lot. As soon as I exited the vehicle, I saw flames shooting out from the hood. I stood on the side of the road shocked at what I was seeing. Everything in my car was ruined - my workbag, a store return in my trunk and even my 1-year old sons car seat melted. We were at a loss on what to do next and did the normal procedure of calling our car insurance. The initial inspection to see if it was a fire due to our negligence was done and a check for the value of the car was received. It would cost $7,000 to see the exact cause of the fire, which would have been at our expense and almost the whole value of the lost vehicle. Our precious Accord was our only vehicle and paying for rental cars was getting too expensive, so we decided we couldnt do the inspection and wanted to have this nightmare over with, only to be haunted by it later on. Our son is 4 now and we received a letter in the mail indicating a recall on our car to fix a defective power steering hose that can leak fluid and catch on fire. If you recall, I had to use all my might to pull the car over, which I assume that the power steering hose having a leak is very possible to be the cause of the fire.We have contacted Hondas recall department and Walter was assigned to our case. Regardless of what happened (me almost being in the car while it was on fire), the car no longer exists so therefore, Honda doesnt care. Interesting enough in the same month, 3 years later, we passed a newer model Accord in almost the exact location with its hood on fire. And yet there is still only 1 reported car fire due to the recall. I honestly doubt thats the case and that there are many other victims. I am certainly angry!
