I am so disgusted with the language in your commercial on American Idol. I hope someone in your company goes to jail. How do you think I or anyone watching would feel if Ford Chevy or Toyota, Coke, etc., used language such as that used in your commercial last night. Which so called genius, I wanted to use a worse word, decided to use one of the most profane word sets in the English language as a descriptor of your product. I would have considered a Kia as our next car. As of right now, I would never enter one of your showrooms. You owe America and me an apology. What a shame. You are better than that.
BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE ONLY TWO YEARS AGO. IT HAS ONLY 69,000 KM. ON IT. On the way home from Saint John, it suddenly starts making a lot of racket under the hood. In pulling over to the shoulder of the road, the car stalls, will not even turn over! Just had the oil and filter changed the day before, so the first thing I do is check to make sure the oil level is O.K. The oil is fine. My wife and I had to walk back almost a mile to use a phone to call for a tow and a ride home.Long story short, THE ENGINE IS TOAST and because we were short two oil change receipts, they refused the warranty request! DEALER says a new motor will cost $15,000, so thats not happening! We have had the vehicle at the dealer for a month! In that time, they have ordered two used motors for us. The first never showed up, the second one, out of Quebec, wasnt fit to use. So now they have another motor ordered! How long do we have to put up with this crap? Is there nothing a consumer can do other than spend a fortune on lawyer fees?
I have a 2008 Kia this is the 2nd Time this happened. When you fill up the car, it brakes down and cuts off. It is about $700 bill . Please help.
Proud owner of a KIA Stinger GT, so called top model of KIA (please go to last sentence if you want the short version). I have owned may new cars in my life and had never had so many issues with any of them but when I had issues I was serviced properly and got a courtesy car for the time of not having a brand new car. I understand that 3 year I would not class as brand new but anything between 1 and 2 year and less than 50,000 km I would. 7 year warranty is only as good as the service they provide and what does it help if I cannot drive my car because it is in repair because of manufacturing faults. A few things I came across from brand new, paint chips like glass. The smallest stone will leave a damage (compared to my previous car which I had for more than 4 years), in 2 month I had more stone chips than in 4 years with my Mazda 3 SPS25. Nothing changed in the way I use the car or where I drive it.When picking up the car brand new already had water mark stains which they pretend not to see till I pushed their nose down on it. The leather seats had already indent/loss of shape. When I had a puncture on the front tire (15ks) the service center advised that the tire would be repairable, no issue with the puncture but the manufacturer put a tire on which is unsafe and has a huge shaving inside (Continental Tires), this tires were not on stock and I had to replace 2 front tires to be safe again. The thread was not even halve used, I sent Continental a photo of the tire and they ask to bring the tire to them. Well normally I do not hang my broken tires around my neck and as this is a wear and tear item I was under the assumption that it would not be covered by warranty and left it with the tire service.Next day I called them to ask if they still have them but they were picked up ($500 down the drain). All this thinks I can live with after all this Stinger is a nice car and when you pay for top model you have to expect top problems (a little sarcasm :-). Moving on now having 25,000 km (15,500 miles) on the car and coming out to my garage to find the car dead as a 10 year old battery can be when used in a start stop system, non of this is applicable to my car and the winters are very soft in Australia. I blamed my selves for not being careful when cleaning my car (no one else is allowed to clean my cars, Im very fastidious with my car) and may have left something on overnight. Hard enough to find out that battery is in the boot and it is not accessible when electric is down. I called KIA service to be told battery is not a warranty item (wrong, their terms and conditions states 24 month, car is only 17 month old).Well in the end I called KIA roadside assist and they came very fast (kudos to them) and they replaced the battery without any bad comments. No charges, me happy camper again, till I went away for 2 days with my other car and the car was dead again. I had to go to work as I had very important meetings and interstate customer flew in for this meeting so I was unable to accommodate for them (not of your concern sorry back to the facts). My partner had to drop off the car after roadside assist managed to jump start the car, at KIA service they let her wait till the last courtesy car was gone and told her car needs to stay for investigation. She had to find her way home from a location which has no easy public transport and we just live 9 km away from the service center. The sales center is just up the road and they at least had the courtesy to drop her off at home (Kudos to them but feel also sorry for them as the service center is a shocker and what they try to make good service center will destroy). Now Im sitting on my desk at work waiting for a call 3 days after and not one call to keep me up to date. Meanwhile I researched the problem and within one hour I found out that it is actually a common problem on several cars already returned for that particular reason, only KIA will know how many but as Im very particular with my car I would assume there are many out their. Im sure they will fix the car in the end but this is not my issue, it is the fact not to react to a common problem and thoroughly investigate and communicate such huge problem (I classify an un-drivable car as useless) as it could be fixed quickly and may also preventive be fixed in a service (not going there either another dark chapter).Forgot to mention gear popping out when trying to quickly shift from park into drive or reverse when parking and trying to get out of harms way. You must be tired by now and I bring it to an end other you fall over dead. Moral is that a 7 year guaranty is only as good as the service and the car if it is fixed and you missing your car all the time you still give a damn about the 7 year. Not saying other manufacturer have no problems either but this is the first time in about 10 brand new cars I owned I have such issues. The car could have been the neck breaker for the likes of Audi, BMW, Mercedes but I think they cannot even reach the service and quality of Mazda. Yes I love that car that is why I swallowed all this crap so far but be aware when you buy a new car. What is more important a car who runs or a car who has 7 years warranty to be in the service center all the time and you left stranded without car. Good luck with your next car.
KIA has stated that everything refers back to the Owners Manual for everything. However when you buy a vehicle brand new an individual is not given a copy of the owners manual to read prior to buying the vehicle. In trying to get my blown motor covered by the warranty, I have found out that if you do your own oil changes a person is supposed to keep all of their receipts and put them in the manual. Not all people are of the personality to keep all receipts so this is not an excuse for them to deny the coverage of the warranty. I took the vehicle into the dealership because it had a problem in Feb. and they said it was low on oil at that time and that was the problem. Only a vehicle with 28K miles should not be low on oil when the last oil change happened at 24,830. Now at 33K the engine is blown and KIA is refusing to honor the warranty because they are saying it was a lack of maintenance.
DO NOT BUY KIA!!! ITS NOT WORTH IT!! 3 months ago on 4/1/2021, Folsom Lake Kia received my new 2020 Kia Sorento for repairs from the result of a collision (WHICH I HAD JUST BROUGHT SIX MONTHS AGO). They sent my vehicle to Toyota Collision center (right next door) which according to Toyota Collision center would take 1 month to be completed/repaired. However, they notified me that they werent responsible for ordering/shipping of the necessary parts needed to repair my vehicle, that Kia Roseville was responsible. Toyota Collision was ONLY responsible for receiving the parts to repair the damaged car.For the first 30 days, my insurance covered my rental. But come to find out my repairs were going to take longer, due to a part being sent from kia damaged and received damaged by Toyota collision center. Toyota Collision also informed us the remaining parts were on back order due to covid, so you would think they would try to compensate their loyal customers in any way they could. That negligence put my cars repair status back a whole month. So I went to speak with Folsom Lake Toyota collision center to compensate me, since the part was going to have to be reordered because of it arriving damaged. Toyota collision center said its not their job to assists us with a rental, that Folsom lake kia should since theyre the ones working with our insurance and ordering/shipping the parts needed to repair my vehicle. So I took the advice of many people working on site, and I spoke with Folsom Lake Kias head supervisor (Doug I believe his name was) to get my issue handled at the lowest level possible. My wife and I, inquired about a rental or loaner vehicle, until my vehicle was completed/repaired.He informed us that it doesnt work that way and that we would have to contact Kia Motors of America to receive assistance. So we did.... And since then Kia Motors of America along with: Kia Motors Finance, Kia Consumer Affairs, Kia Assistance Team, Kia Collections Department have ALL avoided assisting us with solving our problem, (due to their initial negligence). Theyve ALL hung up on my wife and I, kept us on hold for hours on end, kept transferring my wife and I to different departments to avoid us speaking with their supervisors, been rude and said disrespectful things, tried to get us to sign falsified documents. So 3 (almost 4 months later) of rude, careless, and negligent departments, customer service associates, and supervisors (JILLIAN in collections department being the worst!) Im FED UP, with the horrible service Ive had to endure over the 3 months, which has caused tremendous stress on my wife and I, especially since we have 3 kids one of which is a new born! So since its virtually impossible to reach the head of these departments (cause they keep you on hold). So Ive had to leave a review here! To warn others of the horrible service, THAT COMES WITH PURCHASING A KIALong story short, DO NOT BUY FROM KIA! They dont solve issues at the lowest level possible and DEFINITELY DONT solve issues at the higher levels possible! Even in the midsts of a pandemic we cant receive any genuine help from ANYONE! & if you dont believe me read some reviews from Kia Motor finance!! They do not care about helping you! Money is everything! NOT YOU OR FAMILIES WELLBEING! Be safe, & God bless!
OK, so I bought a used 2006 Sorento in 2008 with 30,000 miles. It seemed nice, but I did not have it for a week. Then, the headlight and taillight were out. The dealer fixed it and said it was under warranty, to go to Kia. I went to a Kia dealer, they told me it had a recall and needed new wiring harness for both front and back. They ordered them. When I went back for the scheduled appointment, they had not ordered it and the next time I went back, the dealer had closed! I went to a nearby town. Kia ordered the front and corrected the headlight. But the rear, they claimed they knew nothing about. I had to return because the headlight again burned out and they told me to use Kia bulbs, so I did at $53.00 per replacement? Come on, now theres no way I am replacing them. I went back about the rear and had a small crack in the taillight. They told me that was the problem. However, the problem existed before the crack in the taillight. I was out on that as well and I have to wonder where that crack came from. I had the car serviced a few weeks ago and had 7 taillights replaced as all were out. I bet you, I have put in $100 since I have had this car. The lighter in the car quit working, they replaced that. Of course, it lasted for two weeks. The phone charger does not work either, but did in the beginning. It no longer does. Now time for inspection and the service engine light came on. They said I need two oxygen sensors and a new converter. This car has 75,000 miles on it. What is it made of and do I have a reason to complain? If you buy a used Kia, you only get 65,000 miles on warranty, not the 100,000. I dont even dart on the door of their service department after a $53.00 light bulb that burnt out the same as the one from a local parts house. Very disappointed in this car and I wont go that route again unless something changes, until everything fell apart on it. I would have bought a new one this year.
Where to begin. I scheduled an appointment at my local Kia dealership to have a recall fixed that I had received a letter about. The night I went to drop my car off it started making a knocking sound in the front end. I spoke with the mechanic who told me they would not be performing the recall because they believe it was part of an engine recall. Fast forward 9 WEEKS, yes I said 9. They tell me Kia denied the recall due to previous recalls not being performed. I call customer affairs and they state that I never had a recall done in 2018 that should of been done before the engine failing...First off I never received a letter stating a recall needed to be done in 2018 and the person who helped me even stated they had the wrong address on file. The only recall notice that said it needed to be completed was the one I took it in for. The fact that have terrible engines that is clearly known and there is a law suit over just tells you how terrible this company is. I have been without a car for 9 WEEKS! I work full time and have 3 children, no one could provide me with a loaner vehicle and now they are denying the recalled engine because of a notice I never received. I am completely disgusted with this whole situation. Kia Cooperation is shady and I will NEVER own another Kia.
This has been the WORST experience I have EVER had. I went through USAA to buyout my Kia from a lease. Two months later I start getting collections calls saying Im two months behind because Indiana is a dealer only state, and not only was I never informed, records indicate that Kia CASHED the check from USAA. They claim they issued a refund check to USAA but a week later, USAA still doesnt have it. Now I am paying two car loans, both of which are accruing interest. THIS IS ILLEGAL!
I leased a 2019 Stinger GT after turning in my Optima a year early. I leased the car on 12/18/18. Within the first 30 days my rear defroster made a popping noise and shorted out. I took it back to the dealership and they supposedly fixed the issue. On May 14th on my way into work the car made the same noise. I called the dealership to have it looked at again. I got into my car after work, within a few minutes I could smell smoke and pulled over on the side of the highway. I opened the hatchback to see the rear defroster compartment melted away and then flames shot out of the hole. Within 4 minutes the car burned down to the frame. A formal investigation was completed with my insurance company, Kia, and the NHTSA.Kia accepted responsibility for the fire. They bought the car back from the insurance to hide a fatal flaw in the car. After weeks of failing to return numerous calls and emails to Kia attempting to understand what the next steps are, we finally received a call stating that they were willing to reimburse us for the contents in the car- WHICH THEY HAVE to do. After several more phone calls and emails, a supposed manager named Jeff **. contacted us (of course they have no email address, last name or phone number). After going back and forth he offered to refund us the $2000 we put down on the car only 5 months earlier stating it was the cost of ownership! After asking we found out that if we accepted, we would have signed off our rights to any future actions. The fire department told me the only thing that saved my life was that I can a full tank of gas so it did not blow cause of the lack of fumes. I was minutes away from picking my 6 year old daughter from school. The fire started right under where her booster seat was. Do not buy this car as it can easily kill you.
Returning home from Military School my Kia Niro broke down. Waited 5 hours in 6 degree weather to get my car towed on a Sunday. Closest Kia Dealer closed and no car rentals close. They offered no option. I Ubered to the airport. Got a rental to finish the remaining 7 hours of a 13 hour trip. Exhausted. Hungry. Once home began the work of what’s wrong with my car, getting the rental paid and how do I get it back. It took TWO MONTHS to get my car back. The diagnosis? Manufacturer error and no specific reasoning why my car suffered a break down no one could figure out until a technician was finally sent out to take a look. Couldn’t figure it out so just did a ‘hard reset’ and then it was fixed. No idea what the problem was though AND THEN it had physical body damage and before I drove it off the lot, called Mr. Charles ** (case representative) to figure out how to rectify this. Said there’s nothing he can do. His job is to reunite me with the car not the quality of service done on the vehicle. I am abhorred with how I’ve been treated every step of the way. The reliability of KIA CONSUMER OVERALL is not even worth 1 star. My car is not reliable and neither is Kia’s customer service. Save yourself the two months of heartache I just went through and hundreds of dollars out of pocket I won’t be reimbursed.
I like the Kia Sorento because it is very good on gas and is easy to drive. It has a lot of space in to sit four people comfortably. It is a great car to go on vacation in too. I would make it have a large backup camera installed in it. And also the gas tank door would work all the time. Also a have handle on the front near the windshield for older people to be able to use it to get in and out with. The car has a noise in the motor but the dealership says they cannot find anything wrong. My mechanic says there is something wrong with the timing chain. All in all it is a good riding car.
Would like to see 2014 and 2015 KIA Souls third-party tested for actual horsepower and torque numbers. Having owned a 2010 KIA Soul + and now a 2014 KIA Soul +, the 2014 KIA Soul feels underpowered given KIA-stated numbers.
I received a safety recall notice from Kia about my Kia Rondo. I e-mailed the letter to Ed Voyles Kia in Chamblee, GA. There’s no response up to now. I called the dealer at one time and the service department told me that my car was not in the recall - the air bag light is on all the time I drive my car. Please tell me what to do.
My 2016 Kia Sorento seized on 8/16/19... stopped in the middle of the highway. No lights, no sounds, nothing. Did some investigating and it was out of oil. Just had it changed on 6/7/19. Dealership is refusing to honor the lifetime warranty. Again, no lights, no warning, no nothing. 5.5 quarts of oil went somewhere in two months. Or at least thats what was SUPPOSED to be in there. There are several class action lawsuits pending as well regarding this issue & similar things. Dont be fooled.
I bought a Kia Rio in 2003. I was the first owner with 1,000 miles on it. It was on clearance. I didn’t need an extra car, but the price was too good to be true. 3 months after the purchase, it was still under the famous 100,000-mile guarantee. The A/C stopped working. I took it back. They fixed it. 8 months later, the A/C stopped working again. They fixed it. 2 to 3 months later, the A/C stopped working again along with the driver lock. They fixed both. This time, I told them that I didnt want the car no more. It was too much hassle and I needed a reliable car because my older car got totaled in an accident. This time, they got a brand new AC compressor. It worked for a year. The dealer told me the new compressor had its own guarantee. I told them I wanted to exchange it for different car. He said if it didn’t work, they will do it. They were very nice, so I trusted them. Less than a year later, the AC and car locked again. I took it back. I had enough. This time, they said: Were sorry to inform you. But if you would had come before last week, we could it replace it. But your guarantee on your A/C just expired. Now Im stuck with this piece of **! I keep advising my friends never to buy a Kia ever.
I just paid off my Kia Rio 2005 in April. About two months ago, the engine exploded so I had it rebuilt. Then the water pump malfunctioned so I had that repaired. After that, it needed a new thermostat, then a piece of the radiator popped off. And most recently, the water pump needed replacement again. It is also making horrific noises sometimes when I use the brakes. So far, I have put about $3000 into repairing this vehicle. I depend on it to get to work. The transportation service in Jacksonville is terrible and I need a car. Also about two years ago, the a/c stopped working and about a year ago the switch for the headlights stopped working properly causing my brights to come on at times. And a couple of months ago, the door to the drivers side will not open unless I roll down the window put the key in the door and open it. I work full time but due to the economy our hours are cut. I am going into debt trying to repair this vehicle.
I will NEVER EVER buy a KIA Optima or any KIA. First it has a bad AIR CONDITIONER, now my engine is BLOWN. Warranty does not cover it. I bought a 2014, last year although I did oil changes engine started to let out BLACK SMOKE. Took it to KIA, they said I never did an oil change even though I showed them Oil Change receipt. They took the engine apart and said we needed a new engine. So the car is sitting outside my house with no ENGINE. It sort of an advertisement that KIAs are NO GOOD, NO GOOD. My other car has almost 160,000 miles, no engine problem. I had 2 Toyotas, they ran over 200,000 miles - never had engine problem.
New 2012 4cyl GPI AWD Sorento - Initially got 12mpg city, got excited when it started to get 14mpg. Now, it’s down to 10.4mpg. Have just over 4k miles on the vehicle. I contacted consumer affairs and was given a number to reference with the dealer service. Service found nothing wrong with the vehicle.I can get better mileage with 8cyl hemi. This is totally wrong and needs to be dealt with. My options are to trade it in and lose money, or look to the market or legal for help.
I recently had to take my K900 to the dealership because the radio and phone system just cut off and on daily. I dropped my car off and went to work. An hour or so later they call me and tell me they cannot work on it because it is a K900 and only certain dealerships can work on them, which the closest one is Schaumberg or Elmhurst, IL. This is 3 hours away from me!!! I have to drive 3 hours away, wait and drive 3 hours back - this is ridiculous!!! What if they cant fix it there? I made a trip for nothing... I am so upset by this, you cannot believe. They should have told me before I bought this car and I would never went through all this mess.
I traded in 2012 Kia Soul for a 2015 Kia Soul Plus. I got the car in June and I have been listening to the 3 month free promotion of Sirius Radio. I did not even notice that my new Kia has no CD player, until the other day when I went to put in a CD. I was completely shocked. My 2012 Kia did have it and I thought that the CD player was standard. I was not told when I leased this new 2015 Kia that there was no CD player. I feel that the salesman should have pointed that out to me. I am extremely disappointed and now I am looking through stores to see if I can buy a portable one to put in my car. I understand that changes are sometimes made, but a change like this should have been brought to my attention when I leased this car. This is a feature, for me, that is very important.
I bought a 2011 Kia Rio5 in the spring of 2011 from Kia Sudbury. Since then Ive had nothing but horror from the vehicle and nothing but the same problem over and over again. I spent 24.000 and the car is breaking from new to now with the same continuous problems. Ive had the mechanic at Sudbury Kia dent my car while being serviced and they denied it. Sudbury Kia does not sell the tires for the Car they sold me. They also do not offer wheel alignments which is sad when you want your winter tires out in or your alignment set after they do the inner barring 3 times on the same tire. Even after an alignment at Fountain Tire in Sudbury, My 2011 Kia Rio5 has blown 6 coil packs and a cylinder update from 30000 and till now. New radio 2 weeks after buying the car. Because the button paint cracked all over the deck Ive had the same cobweb in my rpm gauge because Kia Sudbury didnt want to take the dash apart after me just buying the car and noticing it shortly after. My inner barring has blown 3 times on the front passenger side of the car. The car wont stay aligned. Ive had Sudbury Kia Fix the lights in the interior of the car and got oil all over the roof and didnt install the right light and broke the other one and now it hangs there only because the guy couldnt put the light back into the ceiling of the car. The back latch on the car locked up because of a piece of foam Kia seals the back lock with. The foam breaks after a while and gets stuck in the door, leaving you without a rear door.If you boost the car it blows the fuses for the radio and lights, it doesnt start in the cold and if you turn the key every 20 seconds when it doesnt start it will eventually start. When that happened I brought my car to Kia Sudbury and they couldnt help me unless my car didnt start, which it didnt thats why I was bringing it to them, but no help at all. The car is no good on gas. If youre on the highway, the 4th gear stays on too long which leaves you burning gas a lot, the car now is almost finished at 115000. The car is not good and unreliable and costly. Kia damaged my car and didnt help me at all with getting to what was the problem. They just covered it up. My car is now a really loud, misfiring riding pop can that costs a lot.
My car was booked in for a noise in the engine on 3rd Nov 2015. Heard nothing for 2 days even after leaving numerous messages as the lady dealing with it was either away from her desk, on a call or busy with other clients. Eventually got a call late Wednesday afternoon advising that they needed to strip the crankshaft which would cost R2300.00. I advised that I would check with my husband and call them back. When attempting to call them back late Wed afternoon no one answered the phone. I then received a call Thursday pm to confirm that could go ahead with the job. I confirmed it was okay. I heard nothing on Friday and when phoning Friday pm, none of my calls were returned. By now I was extremely peed off. I eventually got my husband to go to Kia Tokai to check on the progress of my vehicle. When he arrived the ladys attitude was, Why have you come to see your vehicle? He was then shown the problem with the vehicle and the mechanic explained what needed to be done, we were offered 2 options costing R3700 or R20 000. We agreed to the R3700. Were then told the parts could only be ordered from JHB on the Monday 9th. We then received no update on our car at all. I then tried to speak to the manager of Kia Tokai who was in a meeting when I called at 9 am on Thursday. 12th Nov. I called throughout the morning and left 3 messages in total. He never returned any of my calls. Eventually the service manager called me to enquire what my complaint was. I explained the whole story to him and he was going to check on my car and call me back. Surprise, surprise he did not call back. I eventually called him again at 3:30 pm. This is what I was then told: yes the part had arrived but did I not know that it can take 3-4 days for a part to arrive? How would I know this? They now need to check if the part is compatible with my vehicle, come on, get real. Do you not know what part to order? I must be patient and wait because while my car has been at their workshop they have booked other cars in as well which will be worked on first, dont I realise that the job on my car is a big one. How would I know this, I am not a mechanic. Am I not a client? Are some clients given special treatment? Yes my car is not under warranty anymore (was bought from this branch in April 2012) but I am a paying customer. By this time I was fed up and asked to speak to the manager again. I was put through to reception, who advised me to pls hold as he was on a call. I was placed on hold 3 times. The service manager then came onto the phone saying the manager was in a meeting and if my car could not be fixed by close of business Friday 13th then they would organise a car for me to use. What rubbish! I feel that I was put on hold so that the service manager could speak to the manager first. Was he really on a call or in a meeting because reception says his on a call and the service manager says he is in a meeting. What kind of manager does not take responsibility for his workshop and staff?Yes I understand that parts come from JHB, yes I understand that some jobs take time, but is it not possible for a person to keep a client updated as to what is happening to their car especially if it takes 11 days without a result. It is now 2:30 pm on Friday 13th November and to date no car, no call! Would never take my car back there again (if & when I get it back). Would never recommend Kia Tokai to anyone as I would not want them to have to endure such incompetence.
2013 Kia Optima Hybrid - I have taken my vehicle to the Alhambra dealer 4 times due to a clicking noise on the brake and accelerator every time I would come to a light or a stop. The first 2 times they would fix it and then the noise would come back in a few days. The third time they did not find any noise which is irritating because I would hear every single day. The fourth time I went on a ride along with a mechanic and he clearly heard the noise so they had me waiting there for 4 hours till they told me I had to leave the car for further inspection. The vehicle was left at the dealer on 3-14-2018.As of today I still do not have my vehicle and they did not offer a rental or anything, I have been getting rides to work and back home and neither did they give me a date to pick up my vehicle. I call on a daily basis for an update and they just keep giving me the runaround and the majority of the time they do not return my calls when I leave voicemails, I also opened a case with KIA and the supervisor that has my case does not return my calls or emails either. I have never ever experience this kind of problem with any vehicle or any dealership. I am still under warranty with them but with no help on their behalf. This is really frustrating.
I was told the front bumper was replaced before I bought pre-owned. Within a month the paint bubbled and peeled. Bolts were not put in and I am now being told I ran over something and that is why the bolts are missing. I took it back when something rattled and fell off and was shown that a piece of the bottom panel was ripped off. This happened on the freeway after the rattling started about three miles before. I told them they did not replace the bolts when they took the bumper off to paint. They insist I ran over something but only the bolts on both sides are missing. I noticed the front bumper stuck out in spots after I bought it so I know that it was never bolted properly from the beginning. They are saying that if I dont pay to replace the bottom panels they will not allow my warranty if something breaks and the paint is now peeling and bubbling AGAIN. I am going to contact KIA customer service and if it is not fixed I will seek advice from an attorney.
I leased a new Kia at the end of April this year on a referral from my parents who had just purchased a new Kia from what was Metro Kia at the time. I was told that since I was putting more of a down payment than I wanted and paying more per month than I wanted that not only would the lay payments be taken care of on my old car, but that the end of lease fees on my previous car would be taken care of. Skip to beginning of November and Chase is sending me a bill for $5000. I started texting with someone who is at what is now Matthews Kia who said she would have to pass info to the managers. 3 weeks later I find out that none of the payments were taken care of. Not only that but nothing was ever written down about taking care of the other fees but they didn’t see anything about making the last payments. I had 3 payments left and Matthews only took care of 2 because that’s all Metro had written down which they found on the original paperwork that had been filed away. Matthews legally did what they needed to but they should have honored what I was told. I have a text message from a Kia employee saying that Metro did this to lots of people. I don’t understand how Kia as a company can screw people over so bad. They are a bunch of mismanaged shady idiots who take people’s money and don’t care what happens. Between their shady business dealings and Chase’s idiot people I am now stuck with a $5000 bill and ruined credit because the payments were not taken care of 9 months ago. When I contacted corporate all they said was since it is a franchise they have absolute no impact on what they do and they don’t care and will do nothing to rectify the situation. What kind of business doesn’t regulate their franchises? I will never buy another Kia and I promise that my family and friends will not either. I will tell everyone who will listen including news/media outlets about your shady dealings. I can’t imagine the recurring revenue they are losing from all these people that got screwed over is worth the little bit of money they would pay out to make things right with their customers. DO NOT TRUST THEM AND DO NOT BUY A KIA.
My current wife and I purchased a 2011 Kia Optima. We only purchased the car in my wifes name because we were just dating at the time. We would become engaged about 7 months later. We get married, we moved to Texas, I go to the DMV to get the tags changed over. We take great care of our cars. We reach 98K miles. We finally have a true problem with our car. The engine is gone. We need to replace the engine. Kia tells me that we dont have a valid warranty on the car because weve sold the car. I explain to them that we havent sold the car we just moved to a different state. And I registered the car under my name but the title still has my wife on it. Granted when the lady told me that we didnt have a warranty on the car, was very upset and cursed a bit over the phone. After a week of fighting over the phone with Kia and the dealership they decide to honor the warranty. The follow up with the Kia and the dealership has to be some of the worst customer service Ive ever seen in my life. No one called to let me know they received documents from when I sent them. No one called to give me status of on the car. I will NEVER buy another Kia in my life. This is the worst company to ever buy a car from. They will try to give you every excuse of why they cant honor the warranty on your car. STAY AWAY FROM KIA. Its a waste of your time and money.
Went to Kia help. They would call me to help with my car, so they charged me $26 dollars for a phone call I never got. They said they were unavailable for call but took the money anyway. KIA MAJOR TIME SCAM ARTIST, THAT ALL THEY ARE
Leased the 2017 KIA Niro EX Hybrid car on Sunday and drove home 10+ miles. Odometer had 15 miles on it. Left the car in the garage for two days and attempted to drive it early Wednesday. Backing out of the garage and was steering onto the street when the power steering warning light came on and steering was very difficult and noisy (growling) - vibrating while turning the wheel itself. Pulled back into the garage and all warning lights came on. Shut the car off and retried several times. Waited with the car idling. Battery warning light came on. Let the car sit and looked in the manual for answers. Tried backing up again and all the warning lights came on again, and steering was again very difficult. Drove back into the garage. Called the roadside assistance number and the flatbed truck took the 2017 KIA Niro EX back to the dealership. The tow driver had much trouble getting the car out of the garage and maneuvered onto the flatbed. This is a serious safety issue to us because the car could barely steer. Received call from service at KIA Cerritos saying power steering motor had to be replaced and that Korean engineers were flying out to look at the car personally. Still do not have a car, but we are in limbo now about the brand itself and are looking again at Toyota.KIA of Cerritos - a very short description of our encounter before and after. Salesman said we could have leather seats in the base model, that it takes about an hour. When we went through the agreement, he instead was selling us a 35k vehicle. I asked, how did we go from 22.5k to 35k. He wouldn’t show us the numbers through the whole process. We were very pressured to take this vehicle, and the salesman kept referring back to a ‘pre-delivery’ inspection, which seemed odd - like something was wrong. Keep in mind, this is the shortest version. After the KIA Niro steering failure and the tow truck delivered the vehicle, I had to sit through several more interviews at the Cerritos dealership, being shuffled around from office to office all afternoon, much like the initial sales day. A Head of Sales man told me the General Manager said no to my request to return the car and unwind the deal of less than 72 hours. I was going to just leave, and then I went in to confront the supposed General Manager. He said, No, Im not the General Manager, Im the Service Dept. Manager. Then he took me in to see Joe **, the real General Manager of KIA of Cerritos. The conversation with the Cerritos dealership General Manager, Joe **, was very short. He simply said he wont buy-back because its now a used car with 30 miles on it. He said he wont call back the DMV title in our name.I left the dealership and the car, which I still hadnt driven myself, in the service dept. to be fixed. When I got home I called a ‘lemon law’ consultant. He was very knowledgeable and said the dealership wouldnt have filed with DMV yet as its too early and that its usually done weekly or monthly. Remember we had the car less than 72 hours. It was late Sunday when we drove the car into our garage, and the next day was a holiday, President’s Day. So, that left Tuesday, and I attempted to drive the car Wednesday at 4am. I had also called Kia Motors Finance and they told me they couldnt find the VIN number - we had no account on file yet. In their opinion, there was no real reason for us not to be able to walk away and find another car. And of course after this, another dealership. We are still in limbo about our lease with KIA and the return of our brand new 2017 KIA Niro EX Hybrid.
I hate your pornographic commercials. Have you no shame? Do you not know that young children are watching television? Its offensive, degrading to women and just adds to all the other garbage that is on TV. You must be pretty desperate and feel like your product cant sell itself, resorting to such offensive tactics. I will never consider buying a Kia or Hyundai, just the name alone conjures up negativity in my mind!
In October 2011, I purchased a new 2012 Kia Soul. Within the year, I began to hear a knocking sound in my engine. On each maintenance visit, Id bring up this issue and was told they were unable to confirm the knocking sound. Fast forward to 06/24/2017, I get this loud noise on a cold start from my vehicle. Again, I take it to a Kia dealership. After years of trying to get someone to acknowledge the knocking sound, the dealership acknowledges it and states the noise is coming from the valve train and that Ill need a new engine. Dealership contacts Kia but Kia denies my warranty claim because the knocking sound isnt loud enough. Im the original owner of the vehicle with 88,500 miles so I dont have much time left before Im no longer eligible for the warranty. The dealership tells me that Ill have to contact Kias 800 number if I want to dispute the findings and obtain approval to proceed with the warranty work for the engine. My husband makes an initial call to the 800 number and after 30 minutes of arguing is told nothing can be done and thats the end of it. No case was opened or referred for further review. I then place my call. I am calm and collective and explain the issue Im having and get referred to a case manager by the name of Hei. I, again, go through the pain of explaining my issue. Initially she states that Kia would not have denied the claim because its covered under warranty. With this knowledge, I inquire to find out how were able to forward the approval over to the dealership so that they can begin the repairs on my work and provide me with a rental. She then tells me that my car is not under any recalls. Now Im just dumbfounded because nowhere in our conversation did I ever state I was there for a recall. The case manager then proceeds to tell me that she has nothing on file regarding my issue and will need to contact the dealer and provides me with a 2-3 business day turnaround. I explain that this is an ongoing issue and I have a 10.5 hr trip coming up and I need this resolved sooner. She then tries to tell me that she has to contact the dealer because the dealer hasnt reached out to Kia. This is when my frustration begins to set in. Now Ive been going around in circles for about 30 minutes and she hasnt heard any of what my complaint is. I reiterate our conversation and then she becomes hostile. Im frustrated and ask for a manager. Im then told I cant speak to a manager! I said Look, Im not getting any form of resolution and this is what I was sent to you for. Id like to speak to a manager. She then tells me I dont know you! I need to talk to the dealer. I said Thats fine, what I dont understand is why they cant be contacted right now? After requesting to be conferenced in with the dealer, the case manager felt I was going around in circles and informs me shes going to disconnect me, and she did. My case manager hung up on me with no offer to resolve my issue or follow up. About 2 hours later, I contact the 800 number again. I explain my situation, again, and kindly request to speak to a manager at this point due to the conversations that took place earlier that morning. The rep tried to review my situation and then begins the same vicious cycle that took place earlier that morning. Theres an obvious miscommunication issue and a lack of acknowledgement on Kias side. All Im asking for is to speak to someone who can actually do something to get the authorization out to the dealership so they can begin the repairs. When we finally hit a stopping point, the rep finally gives in and provides me with the name and extension number for a manager who conveniently isnt available. I leave a message and request a call back because Ive already spent over an hour and a half combined on these calls with Kia. Its been about 4 hours and I have not received a call back. Kia is avoiding the issue. Its been confirmed I need an engine replacement. They want to wait until the engine basically explodes is what Im gathering. When it does, theres a very good chance Ill be out of warranty. They dont care if my engine dies on my venture or if my family will be put at risk because my vehicles been disabled and Im literally stuck in the middle of the road, exposed to other drivers who may not be aware and smack right into us. Then what? Its ridiculous that I have to resort to this. I will file a suit in court if needed to get this issue resolved.
I purchased a 2017 Kia Sedona from a Kia dealer in Queens, NY in 2017 with 50 miles. The car is perfect for my family of six as it is roomy and the LX model offered enough accommodations which made it easy to travel with five children. I was very happy with my vehicle and Kia until recently. I had an engine malfunction while driving on a highway with a relative and my children. It was New Years Eve 12/31/20, and I decided to take my sister and children shopping at a store that was about ten miles away. We live in the Suburbs which can get rural in some areas and in order to get to this one store, in particular, I had to take a highway to travel there. When I initially started the car I heard a rattling sound which I thought was due to the cold weather, however, as I drove off and drove further and approached the highway the car started to decelerate. After the car decelerated the car cut off while I was driving. In a panic, I started the car again and pulled over to the side. I had to repeat turning the car on, the car shutting off and decelerating, turning the car on, and drive ten miles to return back home. The very next day 1/1/2021 I had the car towed to the dealership that handled my lease buyout. The service manager was nice exhibited professionalism and willing to offer exceptional services to ensure that my car was repaired and that I understood the repair process. He informed of charges that would be incurred if the warranty was not covered by Kia. So everything at the dealer was done with professionalism and courtesy. The problem that I experienced with Kia was and is that they are not honoring the warranty. The Service Manager indicated that receipts were required to document oil changes performed on the 2017 Kia Sedona to ensure that maintenance was performed routinely. I provided receipts that were kept from service performed from Kia dealerships, however, was unable to produce enough receipts for Kia to honor the warranty. I contacted the Kia Customer Service which represents corporate, the customer services representatives I spoke with exhibited professionalism and advised me to try to get receipts of purchases of oil for any oil changes done outside of a service shop. However, I am unable to. So here I am one and a half months without a car, I am renting a car while paying my monthly finance bill, and I believe Kia will not honor my warranty because of lack of receipts of oil changes.I also find it ironic that I had the car serviced in November 2020 at a Kia dealership and they are not honoring the repairs. I hope that this issue is not an issue with the Sedona as I had around 65,000 miles on the car at the time the engine malfunctioned. I did check another website United States Department of Transportation Traffic Safety Administration where recently a consumer reported the same issue. I pray that this is not the beginning of an issue like Kia experienced with the Kia class engine failure class-action lawsuit in 2019. Although I love the Kia Sedona I probably will not purchase another Kia if the company does not offer reasonable solutions for this matter.
2011 Kia Sorento - I bought the vehicle used with just over 50 thousand miles. Something went wrong with the motor and Kia will not fix it because I cant provide maintenance records from all the previous owners. Sounds like if youre not the original owner the warranty doesnt have to be honored. We will never own another Kia.
Brand new 2017 Kia Sorento top of the line. MSRP 51k I leased this junk, thank god too! I woke up today ready for work and when I went to start this junk, it wouldnt start. I had to call Kia roadside asst. Here is the number 800 333 4542. They came and towed it to the nearest dealership. Im now waiting at home missing work, waiting for the dealership to call me. Do not buy or lease a Kia. I would be better off with a bicycle.
2011 KIA Optima - After only 75,000 miles the steering wheel is getting loose. I brought the vehicle to the dealership and said it was a known issue, but refused to pay for it. They said I could put my name on the list to have the part ordered (50 currently on back order), but said I wanted to contact the manufacturer to place a complaint. KIAs 100,000 mile DRIVE TRAIN warranty does not cover the steering. I will never purchase from KIA ever again. They are cheaply built cars!
2012 Kia Sedona (purchased new). We locked the cargo door of the van and the lock will not release for us to open it. The front window wiper on the passenger side stopped working.
I will start off with what everyone is thinking when reading these... Yes, I am only writing this because I am angry and if my experience was just normal I would probably not write anything, but they earned this. I am currently going through the passing of my mom and all the challenges that come with it. I returned her leased car 2 months early, even though she has multiple letters offering her deals to bring her car back early because it is in demand. Then I receive the bill in the mail weeks later advising she owes $950 for returning the car early and $65 for wear and tear which just seems made up. I attempted to discuss with them, but they said they would not talk to me if I am not on the account. I got the email to send the proof of what happened and sent in what was necessary. I sent it 3 times without any action. I called and finally got the one helpful person to help me with submitting these documents. A few days later I got a letter saying sorry for my loss and asking me what I plan on doing with the car. How is this not a joke? They had the car for over a month. I submitted a complaint to Kia America and after passing the 48 hour waiting period, I heard nothing. I just submitted an updated complaint as I just got another letter in the mail for my mom, thanking her for returning her car and another bill, as if they never interacted with me before. I guess they are playing ignorant to get to the strategy of what one of their workers said, Why dont you just ignore it for 120 days and then it will just go to collections. Thank you Kia, thank you for absolutely no help and adding more stress to the most stressful and sad time of my life.
My elderly mother has been pressured into buying an extended warranty that she did not need. She already has a 10 year warranty. They sent her card after card, and they called her so many times until she buckled under pressure after being told she had to have it! I am furious. I would say that they have dishonest sales tactics.
We had to change our battery 3 times in one year. I asked the Kia dealership at one of their regularly scheduled overpriced maintenance to check why the battery is not staying charged and they told me nothing. A 19-year-old at the local AutoZone listened for five seconds and told me my alternator had a bad bearing. Now, it’s time for inspection and the check engine light wont go off, so my mechanic tells me I have to take it to Kia to have them re-flash the software because it doesnt recognize the VIN. They charged $95, told me it was fixed, but the light was still on, so I go back inside and then they tell me, oh yeah, the computer is shot and its $2,000 to fix it. My mechanic is putting a rebuilt computer in for $200. I must still take it to the dealership to be re-flashed with Kia software, so thats another $95. I feel that Kia is a cheap piece of crap, I wont buy another one, and I wont pay for their outrageously expensive maintenance.
After driving a Kia Rondo for over 100,000 miles, Ive had no mechanical issues and feel I should have!
My wife was in an accident on Monday, 10/31/11 on Hwy 741 and her car was totaled out. My wife has developed pain in her neck and back area, now her chest. During this accident, none of the airbags deployed at all. We had a wrecker driver take our car to a body shop in Forney, Texas and the manager showed us 5 other cars that were Kia that had the same problem to where the airbags havent deployed. Is this a defect in the system? My wife could have been in a very serious situation or even killed in this accident. We put our trust in these cars when we purchased them from the dealerships and later we found out that they are not working properly.
Bought my Kia Sorento in 2012. It is a 2011 only had 29,000 miles when purchased. After having the vehicle for 1 week I noticed the car was very shaky on the highway. I took it back to the dealer (not Kia dealer) it was purchased from and they said a tire is bald and they would not replace. One month later I was driving home and my windshield cracked all the way up the entire window. Took it to be replaced thinking maybe a rock hit it and they brought me into the bay to show me that the windshield had been cracked from the inside because a heating element blew. Kia would not do anything to help. I have had to replace numerous parts and have many things fixed that shouldve not had to be fixed so early on in a vehicle (ex) oil pan cracked, starter stopped working, struts and wheel bearings needed replacement very early on. Since the car was purchased Ive replaced my tires 4 times, had 4 alignments and the car still shakes... Recently the radio stopped working all the time and chooses when it wants to turn on. I wrote a review on twitter and Kia consumer reached out saying they would like to help. They called me got all info VIN, mileage etc. Told me to bring to a Kia dealership to have it looked at. I brought my car at the designated time they gave me. They ended up giving me a rental for the weekend so they can look at it only for monday to come and Kia consumer care calls me to tell me there is nothing they can do because of the mileage. Are you kidding me? They knew the mileage before having me waste my time to go have it looked at. Now they are also telling me the ball joints need to be replaced which is why it shakes. Thats funny. Ive had this car 4 years and youre telling me not one mechanic has figured that out... Kia consumer care DOES NOT CARE. Kia is the absolute worst company ever. I would never recommend buying a Kia unless youre looking to dump all of your money into fixing the car constantly.
I purchased a brand new 2019 KIA Sportage two days ago. Its the first time I drove it today. It popped up a warning message (with yellow light) after one mile of driving, saying Low Tire Pressure. I called the road service to check it up. Based on the User Manual, the tire pressure should be around 35 in cold weather. But for my car, three tires were around 30 and one was 27. I am just wondering: Do they really check up everything and make sure it meets all the criteria before they deliver it to the customers??? Well, this is just the first day. The service guy inflated the tires. I will keep an eye on it in the following days to see whether its the problem that they didnt inflate it enough before delivering or the tires are really bad and they deflate gradually. Anyway, my first day of driving a brand new car, was ruined.
This has been the worst experience with a vehicle. My high pressure fuel pump went at 82000 miles and they will not replace it. Cost of 833.00. I had the car for less than a year. I have 3 kids and take care of my car. I will never buy another Kia.
At 12,300km my 2014 model Kia soul encounter a problem with the gearbox. I booked in the vehicle at the Kia Tokai Multi Franchise 021 7132413 on the 13th of August. It has now been 3 months and is still waiting for my vehicle due to parts or whatever story they telling me. I feel that I have as a customer been treated very Unprofessional and that a vehicle with such low mileage should have been replaced. I spoke to Kia South Africa customer care but was of absolute no help. Please, if theres anyone of a authority reading this message, please help.
I was given a gas consumption card for $400.00. When I went to go use the car I was told that the card had expired, so I went to the KIA dealership on Van Kirk in Brampton, ON, and explained the situation to him so he called head office and left a message for a manager there and got no response from him. Ive been a customer of KIA with multiple cars for 22 years. I feel unappreciated and shocked at the customer service of KIA. Its been about 3 weeks now and no one has even called me back yet.
Wires burned out without triggering the fuses, following a jump start by AAA on my 2008 Kia Rondo. The Sansone dealership and Kia headquarters are denying warranty coverage despite faulty original wiring and/or fuse box. The wires should not burn out before the fuses are tripped. Without warranty coverage, which the car has for 100,000 miles or 10 years, it would be precarious to order another jump start when the wiring and/or fuse box are faulty.
I have a 2019 Kia Sorento. I bought it September of 2018. I live in NYC so sometimes we have pretty cold weather. In January of 2019 I had a lot of trouble to start my vehicle. I brought it in to my local service center to see if they can figure out why. They told me that they werent able to find out the problem. Fast forward to November 2019 really cold night into the morning, my car wouldnt start again. It was towed to the local service center. They had it in the shop a total of 2 and 1/2 days and they still werent able to find the problem. This is a problem that Kia needs to step in and remedy. If this continues I may have to sell this vehicle and buy a competitors vehicle instead as well as tell everyone I know not to purchase this car or any other from this company.
I bought a Kia Sorento based on their claims of safety and all the airbags they have. In Dec I was in an unfortunate accident. Luckily my children were not in the vehicle. I was hit from all sides by multiple vehicles. NOT ONE AIR BAG deployed. The passenger side doors were on the seats and the frame between the front and back seats was split in half (right where there is an airbag). Kia said that in this situation the airbags are not designed to deploy when hit in that fashion. So they are claiming no fault. The vehicle was totaled. If Kia is so safe with all their airbags and I was T-boned and hit from all sides then what type of situation do you have to be hit in in order for them to deploy. DO NOT TRUST THEM.
I bought a brand new Kia Soul. I was driving on the turnpike when I hear a noise coming from the right front of the car. I thought the right braked locked up but did not feel it driving. Turns out the inside part of the wheel well came loose and with the wind touched the front right tire causing the noise and bending it where it could not be bent back. I made an appointment to take the car into Rick Case Kia service. They asked me to later come into the shop area my car was up on a lift. They accused me of hitting something to cause this to happen. I said I have 1000 miles on the car. I am the only driver. I did not hit anything. Other than the scratch make of the tire on the part that bent back there is no evidence no sign of anything hitting the area.I stated that its been raining a lot and I have as everyone else driven at highway speeds through standing water. I think maybe the force of the water may have loosened the clamps causing this. They still claim I hit something so as to not cover it. I called Kia Customer Service and its been a few days with no callback. I opened a case. If they do not cover this I no longer want the car. I have been reading all these accounts of horrible customer service. I purchased extra coverage where even oil changes are paid for. This accusation does not sit well with me. If this is how it is with Kia I wish I had known previously they have a maybe fake award for the past two years with a major company. Dont know if its legitimate now. If its not covered I do not want to drive my car. Only had it over 30 days. Hope anyone looking to buy a Kia dont. Rick Case doubles the factory warranty from 10 years to 20 but then they blame the customer for the claim to disqualify the claim. Very underhanded and wrong. I fell for their tv commercials.
I bought my car, top of the line Sorento, brand new. I had problems since I drove off of the lot. The major problems are excessive vibration, pulling to the left and most recently corrosion on the inside edge of my hood. Kia does not want to take responsibility for any of these issues and after doing my research, others are complaining of the same problems. This will be the last Kia that I ever own.
I own a Kia and had a vehicle financed through Kia Motors Finance. I had always had various problems with their website or making payments. When I went to work for their finance company I realized why. They are INCOMPETENT!!! Payments are often credited to the wrong accounts, lost, do not go through due to website issues, agent input errors, or computer malfunctions. Then customers are called and harassed about late payments and have to pay late charges and payment fees.As agents we are told to never let the company look bad or accept blame. I quit in disgust. I was tired of customers being treated so poorly. Accounts would clearly show that customers had made all their payments yet we would be calling them as past due and then managers would tell us there was a glitch in the system and just shrug their shoulders like oops! Yet when customers would say they had made payments that were not reflected we were told there was no way the system could be wrong. Huh?Customers should also know that agents wrote down and walked out with social security numbers, account numbers, dates of birth, ANYTHING. And these are fed up people making minimum wage. This is a high pressure environment where workers are treated poorly. I could just see someone taking this information to spite the company. Honestly, I think this is a class action lawsuit waiting to happen.
I took my 2006 Kia Sportage EX in for routine service at the Young dealership in Lansing, MI 6 weeks ago and asked to rotate my tires. They broke a lug nut stud on my right front tire and had to order another one (took 3 days). On 4/16/12, I took it in again for routine service. This time they broke 3 studs on my right front tire. Again, they had to order it. I’m still waiting. Is there a problem with Kias wheels? Or is there a problem with this dealership? My Kia is a 2006 model with over 180,000 miles on it. I am extremely satisfied with this vehicle but again, is there a problem?
We have a 2014 Kia rondo. We went to Kia to get bumper repair and they told us its not under warranty. Told us that the little scratch from the shopping cart loosen out. If that little scratch loosen our bumper how cheap this car is really? So call the company direct and they told me the same thing, really?????? Before we bought that car we were told dont buy a Kia, they’re terrible but we didnt listen and now we stuck with that piece of junk thats falling apart and brand new. I will never recommend Kia to nobody. I personally will NEVER OWN another. If that car so cheap that a cart scratch the bumper and the passenger side bumper come all loose well its obvious the car wasnt put together right. So really the cart is not the problem they are and to the company you guys shouldnt lie by saying you have the best warranty cause thats a BIG lie. Buyer beware. Think twice before you buy a Kia.
I have owned my Kia since May 2006 had it now for a little over five years. I too, like many other, called Kia consumer assistance line the first few weeks after purchasing the car from Kia Country in South Carolina. Like everyone else, I thought I got a deal and the sales people were really nice too, until you sign the paperwork and they put the keys in your hand. That is when all of the problems begin.I complained of the paint peeling. They told me that there was nothing that they could do, so I let it go because it wasnt very noticeable, but that was my mistake. After that, more and more problems began to occur like the blinker lights blow out every couple of months. Twice, they blow out at the end of the drive way. I brought my car right back to them and all they did was replace it, but the very last time, I refused to take my car back until they did some further investigation. They did, and the results were that they had a short, so I went. After another couple of months, they blew out again. The air bag light comes on and goes off. They were supposed to fix it again, but like everything Kia supposedly fixed, doesnt last very long but only a few months. My chamber and chassis cannot be aligned per tires, plus I brought the 3 year alignment when I purchased new tires from them last year, but have never had a proper alignment. They suggested that I take it to the dealer. I took it to the dealer in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011. All of these existing problems, the dealer did not fix or dont want to produce paper for.Now that the warranty is no longer effective, they want me to pay for all of the problems that were never addressed by corporate or the dealer Stokes Hodges Kia of Augusta, GA customer service. They have had about 4 or 5 managers since the purchase of my car. I was considering buying another Kia some time ago, but with the many ongoing problems I had with my Kia, I would never buy another Kia ever in life. You have poor customer service. You guys have left a bad taste in my mouth. I want rest until justice is serviced.
I have a 2012 Kia Rio that I bought one year ago. There is 52 thousand miles.. I love the car, drives good and gets good gas mileage.. A couple weeks ago I had a terrible burning smell after letting car warm up.. Couldnt find anything wrong.. A few days after radio would not keep stations programmed. Went to work one day radio was fine.. Went to lunch radio did not work. Kia said nothing they could do warranty was up.. I thought when I purchased car the 100 thousand mile warranty was on the whole car. Now I have to buy a new radio as the one in the car burned out. They said well its electronics.. Have never in all the years I have had a car the radio burns out. Kia does not stand by warranty as they say when you purchase car. Will never buy a Kia again.
i have been having trouble putting fuel in my 2003 Kia Sorento. My warranty has already expired. I did get a recall letter from Kia for the fuel filter replacement, at which time I felt sure this was my problem, and since it was a recall, would be taken care of by Kia. They explained to me that the reason it was recalled was because it was not listed in the manual at all, as something to be changed every so many miles. They sent two pages to be added to the manual. My local Kia dealership did change the fuel filter. That same day, after trying to put fuel in the car, I find nothing had changed. I called them and asked them to look at it again, and took it back several days later, as they were to change another recall, known as the induction control valve, and check my fuel tank once again. They told me that a charcoal canister located in the fuel system had come apart, and I now had charcoal debris in my gas tank, which of course was not covered, and that part was $134.90, and the labor would be $199.00. I went home and went through my manual for a couple of hours trying to locate this charcoal canister, to better understand how such a thing could happen. After having no luck locating it in the manual, I called Kia, and told them my dilemma, and asked them if they could tell me where in the manual this part is located, and are you ready for this? I was told it was not in the manual, because it was not listed as maintenance! I asked well how would anyone know it was even there, if it wasnt listed. They said it was just a part that was never to be changed at any point and time. Now Im going to be out $350.00, on a part that no one knows existed, nor was ever to be changed. I write this in hopes that it will help anyone else, who is having similar problems. If your fuel spits back at you, or you have to dribble the fuel in, it may be this part that no one knew about, or was not a part that should ever need maintenance. Sorry, but a Kia is not in my future.
My Kia Sedona has a lot of road noise. We have changed the tires and it hasn’t helped at all. I don’t know if it come from the doors and windows leaking or from the tires or maybe something else. The Kia service center is not open to helping with problems or getting things fixed.
I give 5 starts for the sales lady and 1 star for the financing department. We made a deal with the sales lady Josslyn and she went to her manager Eric everything was set 60 months at $320 per month we get to the financing dept he goes no way that cant happen. I told him, No Eric said 60months @320 its a deal. We bought the KIA. Well, in financing it ended up 72 months at 328? My husband said not to make a scene so I said well when I come pick up the tags I will talk to the manager Eric and Josslyn. That happens yesterday 10-29-11.The financing guy said you should have told me .I informed him I did more than once he kept telling me that wasnt going to happen. So yesterday, he goes the paper work has been file so what do you want me to do. I informed him I wasnt happy the manager and sales person gives you a price and when you get back to his office whatever the manager say doesnt mean anything I dont feel that is right .This isnt the first vehicle we have gotten. He was wrong charging us one more yr I know we could have said no to the car but my husband said go ahead but if he has done it once how many other times has he done it to other customer. He had no excuse but it cant be done yet the manager gave us a discount because it was a 2011 and the finance guy didnt and wouldnt sale it to us at what the manager and sales person quoted us.
I brought my used 2007 Kia Optima in June 2011. A few months later, the red air bag light on the drivers side start coming on. It stayed on. In April 2012, I thought my problem was solved when I received a recall letter about the air bag. The dealer stated that he fixed the problem but the red light is still on. He stated that there was another problem with the passenger side air bags. I did notice that side too. I will not pass car inspection in June if the light is still on. To fix the problem, it would cost $1,000.00 to replace the seat because Kia hasn’t recalled this air bag.
Worse car (Kia Rio) ever to buy. Anyone thinking of buying a Kia... DONT. Worse customer service, cheap cars. Bought mine in 2003 after 120,000 kms needs a new Transmission. Door locks are faulty and should be recalled. I have had problems yearly with brakes. I wish there would be a lawyer doing a class action lawsuit against Kia for ripping off so many people.
Kia says that I am not entitled to a rebate that has recently been given out for their vehicles, not providing the MPG that was claimed. The sticker of my vehicle claimed 34 highway/28 city, when in actuality, I am getting about 30 highway/25 city with an overall average of about 27 MPG with my driving habits which are conservative. All other Kia Souls are on the list to receive a rebate, but mine is not. Funny thing about it is that I remember thinking that I wasnt receiving the advertised MPG long before all of this became newsworthy. Thanks in advance.
We have a Kia Borrego that is still under warranty. The vehicle overheated. We stopped immediately and had the vehicle towed to a dealership. The dealership is arguing about warranty coverage, because we may be missing some oil change paperwork. Oil in the vehicle was not an issue when overheating occurred. The last oil change was approximately 500 miles previously. The oil clearly was not an issue when the vehicle overheated. Who can we talk to at Kia to ensure the warranty is covered?
I am totally disgusted by your recent commercials advertising Kia cars. I can choose what television shows come into my home but I cant choose the commercials. You shouldnt be allowed to put such crap on TV. I would never buy one of your cars!
2013 KIA RIO5 SX, 77,000 miles. August 6, 2018. Driver side passenger door, electric window would not go down. Took to KIA dealer & found out the sound barrier material that was glued to inside of door was falling apart & jamming window. Dealer checked all 4 doors & found the drivers door sound barrier material was also falling apart. Dealer said no replacement is available. Dealer removed sound barrier material in drivers door and driver side passenger door. Mileage is over the 60,000 mile warranty so I was charged $186.03. I called KIA 800-333-4542 & opened case 12821760. KIA said car was out of warranty & there is nothing they can do. This car is well maintained & never in an accident. This sound barrier material should not have failed in under 5 years.
I bought my car in 2013. With it brand new, it had 25 miles on the car. There were issues from the beginning. Every time I took my car into a Kia dealer with a shop to look at my car they always said theres no problem. One of the last times I took it in they found it, my sub-frame was so loose that it was so surprising that I didnt get into an accident. I had a tear in my driveshaft boot, and a few other electrical problems. (They were all fixed after a year of driving the car.) Now this is why Im writing this review. I was in an accident in January 2015 (other persons fault). Her insurance worked really fast to get a payoff check to Kia. They got the check on February 28, 2015. It is now April 16, 2015 and they still have NOT processed the check and applied it to my account so I can get everything else taken care of. I dont understand how a HUGE car dealer has not processed this check and every time I call to find out whats going on and why they havent they say the same thing, WE DIDNT KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH IT. What how in the world do they not know what to do with it. Its been 2 months since theyve had this check and again every time I call and have to explain AGAIN, they tell me the same thing Itll be processed in 5 to 7 business days. I am so disappointed with this car company. I will never refer anyone to them nor will I ever go back through them again.
We bought a 2013 Kia Sorento from Keffer Kia in Mooresville, NC. This car had 37,000 miles on it and it was burning oil. We took it to Keffer Kia and Kia recommended an engine change. We have a warranty that we pay for and Kia refused to cover it. These people are scammers they take your money and give you nothing in return. Kia wanted us to pay over $200.00 just to find out what the actual problem was so they could deny it. Never buy anything off of these people.
The gas tank leaks. Kia had a recall but they will only fix it if the leak is on the very bottom. I was told mine is leaking at the side seam. The tank is rusted bad, it shouldnt matter where it is leaking. It is dangerous and should be fixed.
BUYER BEWARE!! This is intended to strongly express a ZERO rating of Corporate Kia, as they refuse to stand by their products and are hurting their dealerships in the process. We have recently become part of a VERY large group of Kia vehicle owners with known defective engines and Corporate Kia refuses to rectify the issue of their poor quality!! We own a Forte with ~79K miles on it that is well kept. When the engine just recently began a loud knocking sound and a timely engine recall notification came to us, we brought it to Kia. After charging us $135 for a diagnostics fee and having our vehicle for literally two weeks (stating that Corporate Kia had been hacked and their systems were in disarray), only to ultimately tell us the engine recall issue DID NOT apply and it would cost us $8,250 for them to put in a USED engine!! Yes, $8,250!! They also stated that our vehicle had been serviced by Kia all along, but that the engine was junk?!? There are many Kia models already in lawsuit settlements for this defective engine issue that surfaces later on, but it is not on the Forte yet. Do a simple Google search and you will discover this. If youre thinking of purchasing, please do your research first, as there are many other car manufacturers out there who do not have this devastating design defect that leaves the owners with big $$$ expenses and no recourse. How Corporate Kia can ignore their consumers and poor quality like this is highly unethical and is why I am posting this!
I just purchased my new Kia Soul mid-2012. It was disappointing enough that the promised MPG was far off from what was advertised. I did purchase the vehicle because of the purposed fuel ratings that were high. Obviously that did not happen for me and thousands of other consumers! But on to my other problem. My vehicle smells like mold! I took my car in for the oil change and also let them know of the odor. The service rep said they would check it out. I waited for my vehicle and when I went to check out, the rep told me they sprayed the vehicle hose where the a/c unit was with some type of freshener. He showed me a can that blasts the product through the hose. They proceeded to let me know that other people had complained of the same issue. I asked what caused this, he said from the a/c unit, rain, and parking under trees! What?! Its a faulty design from the a/c drain line! He stated I needed to change the filter which is located behind the glove compartment about every year to prevent the smell from coming back at a rate of $150! Are you kidding? Why do I have to pay for a defect in the lines for the a/c unit? He said thats just the way it is. He did say that they take care of it the first time. If its an issue, then just take care of the problem, forever. Only a few weeks have passed and the smell is back. The crazy thing is I got bronchitis and cant seem to get over it! Ive never had an issue with this in the past. I wonder if my car is a factor?! We all know mold is hazardous to peoples health and it can cause all types of serious health issues. Im just saying?! Im not sure what to do at this point. I cant afford $150 every few months to have the filter changed. Its just crazy to me.
My leased Kia had a seized engine THREE weeks ago. Still in shop. No ETA on repair. Kia customer service NON existent to me. Do NOT purchase anything from this company. They do NOT care about consumers.
2012 Kia Forte - On 6/18/13, I was driving the car and white smoke started coming out of the tailpipe. There were no warning lights or anything. I took it to Kia of Bedford, Cleveland, Ohio and was asked to provide service records because there was sludge in engine and they will not honor warranty. They wanted me to pay $8,000 for a new engine which I will not do. I researched Kias record and found all over the country complaints of not honoring warranties - Kia of Bedford had 81. When I talked to Kias Customer Service Manager, Ms. **, she was nasty and unconcerned and offered as goodwill - yeah right - to pay half and I pay half. I will not. I am trading that car in and will not ever, ever purchase a car from Kia.
I should have waited a few more weeks for sale... The car has a dangerous recall about car fire. Its in all the news and yet no answer from Kia except dont park your car indoors. It might catch fire.
2011 Optima - We purchased this vehicle brand new 20 months ago at Big Red in Norman. No problems until approx. Jan/Feb, the engine started making bad noises. I took it to Big Red service dept. They treated us like we were idiots and they didnt hear anything. I took it back as it progressively got worse, only to be told they didnt know what the noise was but they could not fix it and sent us away. We traveled to Bob Howard Kia in Edmond, OK and wasted two weekends only to be sent away and told we never changed the oil! Its ridiculously disrespectful to us to assume we didnt take care of this brand new vehicle! We each have brand new cars and trucks in this family and each one of us care 100% for each vehicle. On time oil changes, all maintenance, etc! Finally, service manager, Todd **, said, Prove you did oil changes! Bring receipts! We spent a full week collecting as many receipts as humanly possibly! I drove back to Kia Edmond to show to service manager, Todd **, only to be told after another wasted day of waiting and given the runaround, at last he said, Oh but they didnt use Kia filters. Sorry, now I cannot help you! Nowhere does any document you sign buying a brand new car does it indicate you have to use a Kia filter only! This service manager was making things up as he went along to us! Very upset. Now, the car cannot even be driven! We need help ASAP or comments on what to do now? I contacted every single Oklahoma State Organization I could think of and Kia Edmond online several times and still not one phone call or email. Sad, sad, sad to drive a 10-year warranty vehicle along with extended warranty only to be turned down or totally ignored at every turn.
Kia Lindenhurst NY ripoff artists refuse to return deposit.
I traded in my 2011 Kia Sorento (that I loved!) and purchased a 2015 Kia Sorento in July 2014. On November 7, 2014, my husband and I were driving to the dealership for an oil change and then headed out of town for the weekend. We were about 15 miles from the dealership, on a three-lane interstate in rush hour traffic going 70 mph when the engine killed without any warning. Luckily we were able to get to the side of the road safely. We were unable to start the vehicle yet, all the lights would come on. We called the dealership and they told us to call Roadside Assistance. We had the Sorento towed to the dealership. They said a tech would look at it over the weekend and offered the number to Enterprise Car Rentals. We rented (and paid for) a vehicle (A 2015 KIA SORENTO with the same amount of miles!) so we could continue on our trip. On November 10, 2014, the dealership called to say the engine had blown, they didnt know why, and had never seen this in a brand new car. My husband had to suggest that they offer a loaner car. As of today, November 17, 2014, I still have the loaner, supposedly the new engine has arrived at the dealership yet now they need to order a new starter because that died too after trying to start the vehicle when the engine died (??). I am NOT a happy Kia customer and am not happy with their product to say the least. Now I am tied into a hefty finance agreement for a substandard vehicle that has been out of commission for 10 days and counting. I wish I would have purchased a Chevy Traverse.
I purchased a new Kia Rio 2012 on March 7, 2012. The AC was not working after 2 months. To get an appointment, I waited for 10 days. After repairing, they have not rectified the complaints, so they checked again. I found AC compressor complaints and they told me to wait for 15 to 20 days to get the parts. This is too bad. What should I do for this? I’m 20 or 30 days without a car.
I just want to start by saying that I am a very friendly person and I always have a smile on my face, but I am not happy with Kia right now. I own a 2012 Kia Sorento. It is my familys only vehicle. We are a family of four. On Friday, August 5th, my family was driving from our home in California to visit my mother in law for her bday at her home in Nevada. Two miles from the Nevada state line our Kia just stopped in the middle of the 15 Freeway and luckily my husband was able to swerve it on the shoulder of the freeway. We waited for nearly 2 hours for a tow to Henderson Kia (in Nevada). It was over 100 degrees that day. The tow was taking longer than expected so we were forced to leave the keys to the Kia on the floor mat and leave the vehicle for the tow company and find a way to get to my mother in laws home. Once the Kia finally arrived at Kia Henderson we were told that the service department could not even look at it until Monday morning, August 8th. I had requested a rental and was declined. This was a necessity as we had no transportation while in Nevada and no way to drive the 300+ miles back to CA so that we could work on Tuesday, Aug. 10th and get our daughters to their first day of school. We paid over $400 in car rental costs for 4 days use of a vehicle. Henderson Kia notified us on Monday, Aug, 9th that our engine needed to be replaced. We were shocked. 72,000 and a perfect maint. records. All of which we supplied to Henderson Kia. Due to this we were approved for a new engine. On Wednesday, Aug. 11th, I again requested Kia provide a rental vehicle. Henderson Kia told me to call Kia Consumer Affairs and Kia Consumer Affairs told me to take it up with Kia Henderson. Finally, a rental was approved and I triple verified that I would have the rental during the duration of the repairs and could use it to drive the 300+ miles back to Nevada when my vehicle was ready. Fast forward to today. My vehicle is ready and Henderson Kia is stating that my rental vehicle is only valid until today, September 1st. I am beyond livid. Especially since the contract between Henderson Kia and Enterprise Rental Cars states that my rental is valid until Septemeber 30th. Does Kia really think my family can just leave work and school and drive back to Nevada from California - on Labor Day weekend no less? I have already given Henderson Kia my arrival date in Nevada of Friday, September 9th. My engine is under warranty. This is a Kia flaw not any damage my family has inflicted on the engine. Henderson Kia is expecting me to return my rental vehicle to my local Enterprise today. If I do that, how will I get home? How will my children get home from school? How will I pick my husband up from work? and most importantly, how will we be able to drive back to Nevada to pick up our Sorento? It floors me all of this back and forth with Henderson Kia and Kia Consumer Affairs. I have saved all of my 20 plus emails with Henderson Kia. As of this moment, my family is still in limbo and Henderson Kia is saying that it is only Kia Consumer Affairs that can extend a rental car and Kia Consumer saying it is only the individual dealership. Please help. Thank you for listening.
For two days my new vehicle with only 23000 miles was having trouble starting. The second day was a Saturday. Since this happened to me after 5pm on a Saturday there was no one at the service department. I spoke with an operator who had NO IDEA how to help me or who to direct me to. Frustrated, she directed me the 24 hour road side assistance. I called them and they too were unhelpful. They told me the only thing they could do was tow my vehicle. I said, My vehicle is running at the moment, so where would you tow it to? I asked if road side assistance could come check my battery and was told NO, the ONLY thing they can do is tow your vehicle. Since that would be of no help, I drove to an auto zone. Within 2 minutes a representative from their store was helping me and CHECKED THE BATTERY, which was DEAD. Having no choice but to replace the battery AND no assistance from ANYONE AT KIA, I had to purchase one from AUTO ZONE. Once home, I learned the battery is covered under warranty. Auto Zone would not take the battery back as it had already been put in. I was told that you might be willing to offer the customer service I did not receive in the beginning by refunding the money I spend on a battery. I called my customer service representative and he told me his hands were tied. What kind of service is this? Does KIA care more about $119 than customer service?!? I bought a KIA thinking that the customer service and vehicle would be better than those I have had in the past. So far, I am not thrilled with my purchase.
Kia has a great warranty. I am 6 ft 4 in tall and can wear a hat while driving it. It is not great on comfort, but for the price is one great value; I think it is the best car for those who need dependable transportation for a value. Retired folks, because it is easy to get into and back out of. Most cars you either slide down into them or climb up to get in.
I just bought a 2012 Kia Sorento in February. It started giving me problems. It stopped all of a sudden when I stopped in a stop sign and the engine was shut off. Two days ago, I was about to drive to work and when I went to the garage and sat in the van, it started but the gear wouldnt move as it was locked. I called the dealer and they told me to call the tow truck and get it towed to the dealership. They towed the van to the dealer, and the next day the guy from the service department called. This dealer is located in Avalon Blvd in Carson. He told me that both the engine and the computer are full of water like a swimming pool. How? I just took the car to the drive-through car wash a few times since I bought it. They told me that the warranty does not cover and I have to pay $1600 to get it fixed. When we first bought the car they lied to us that anything doesnt matter - big or small issues, the warranty is going to cover - and now they dont want to cover. I will never ever recommend anyone to Kia Carson or any other Kia dealer. It’s a bad experience that I have ever had.
Theres a reason Kia and Hyundai have a bad rep around the auto world, and reliability is a pretty good contributor to that image. Bought a 2010 Sorento, not even 9 years old and at 60k miles suffered catastrophic engine failure. At first, engine stalled due to faulty MAF sensor, managed to bring the car back home in limp mode around 3 miles. Replaced it, started it up and after around a minute car starts shaking violently and oil spills out all over the floor. Lifted the engine to see if there was anything that could be a done and a piston had completely destroyed 2 cylinders. Called Kia about this and would cost more to repair than the cars worth. Had a very similar experience with a 2006 Optima, however bought that car used at 70k miles so it wasnt as big of a loss. I guess Im the idiot for thinking Kia/Hyundai reliability would have changed in that 4 year gap. If you want a car to at least 100k miles, stay as far away as humanly possible from these brands.
I have a top of the line Kia Cerato 2010. I am frustrated with its sun roof. I went to the agent in Egypt on 10/13/2011 to fix the problem but they told me that the spare part cannot be found and to date, 3/20/2012, it still hasnt been found. I think the problem is with the roller. Please fix this problem because this could tarnish the reputation of Cerato. Thanks for your help.
I bought a Kia Rio 2010. It only had 50,000 km on it. It was a standard and the first month I bought it, the entire transmission had to be replaced. Then the radio would stop working or my lights would not turn off. My brakes made a screeching sound since day one. Then on September 2nd, 2013, I had a car accident and rear ended a truck and totaled my car. Not one air bag imploded and as a result, I had a concoction and lost consciousness. Not one lawyer in Toronto wants to take my case and Kia has done nothing to help me out or the car insurance.
Water Spots on a 2012 kia sportage - If anyone out there has an issue like this, please contact me. I would certainly like to know what to do about this.
I would stay away from Kia vehicles as their engine build has proven to fail. There were recalls on Kia Optima engines, which my husband own and had engine failure. Recently my 2010 Kia Forte engine has failed. Less than 10 years old 120k miles, bought new, service and repairs all done at dealership and suddenly engine goes out. Called Kia and their customer service is rude as ever. My family will never again purchase a Kia.
Just received first bill will three days notice to pay. I have been on phone over 2 hours and cant get an account set up. Their reply, You have to get another computer (had tried on a computer and my phone) and just keep trying. I then asked for a manager and was begrudgingly forwarded to a manager who kept trying to help and now 2 hours 20 minutes later, still do not have an account and they cant set one up for me (even though they have all my info on their computer system).
Dont ever buy Kia. Kia has the worst after sales EVER and they sell you cars whose tires feather within 6 months - Nexen Tires. Dont ever buy with Kia. They suck and their useless experience has been bad bad bad bad bad. Kia SA will point blank refuse your request and maintain that they wont replace or meet you half way, if your tires are feathered after 6 months of purchasing a brand new car. Never mind if you bought the whole car including the tires, and you had crap service from the onset. They WONT meet you half way, they dont care about their customers. All they can say is Were sorry and thats it. They dont care about customer service and after sales services is putrid to the point of vomiting. Kia Paarden Eiland Cape Town should close down and Kia SA should get a new Customer Care Manager. Rather buy BMW, AUDI or even Nissan or Chevrolet - youll get much much better service. Kia will never come near anyones coat tails. They are useless.
Took my 2005 Kia Sorento to the your dealership where it was purchased, for the rear main seal repair. The car has been running rough for the past two years. They did a GDS test, code for throttle position sensor, had spark plus & cables change. Vehicle has 90,000 mile. $800.00 later the Sorento run worst. Was told its a 2005, it will never run smooth. In that case would of kept it like it was. Now have to bring it back for another 2 days.
Kia 2013 Optima Hybrid: 7/17/2015 - Drivers side rear passenger tire blowout on 405 freeway, exit 18. 7am, Costco Fountain Valley, had air pressure check. Got on the freeway and had a blowout. I rotate tires and have tires inspected every 6 months. I have about 28k mileage, the tire was rated 9 on inspection. I was very upset because I nearly got killed if not for the kindness of this lady who blocked traffic and escorted me to the shoulder. The previous week, I had my car inspected and I had a slow leak on the side. The Kia dealer suggested I replace the tire. First blow out, I manage to get car to Pep Boys and got a replacement tire. To my horror, I found out I did not have a spare tire. The blow up patch was useless. I asked Pep Boy what was the cause. They said NO nails or apparent cause. I replace tires with same type. I thought it was ODD that a new tire on a new car would blow up (I purchased my Kia Feb 2014). In less than a year, I had to replace a tire. When 2nd tire blow out happened, I decided to replace all four tires with Bridgestone. I dont know about you but replacing 3/4 tires on a relatively new car is unheard of in all my years of driving. I have had tires lasting me 70-75 miles. The shredded tires fell apart around the whole seam of the car in inner circle just above the rims.
Since I bought a KIA in 2009, I received almost every week any advertisement from KIA or other companies regarding my KIA. Every KIA dealer I went in the last 6 years, because of moving, dont stop sending me advertisement. KIA American dont provide any email address to opt out or something else to avoid this advertisements. The cars are great for the price but because of this much advertisements, I am disappointed about KIA and its a reason NOT to buy my next car from KIA. When I will buy my next car, I will ask for a letter from the car dealer. They have to pay a punishment for every unwilling advertisement they will send me. I will see if any dealer will do this. :-)
I have had a terrible experience with Kia Motors and their Warranty Administrator. My 2012 Kia Sorento broke down during a 2 hour trip in November 2013. We had the vehicle towed over 50 miles (which Kia roadside assistance said they would not cover, but per the service dept/manager at the dealership all costs related to the breakdown would be covered) to a dealership that would service our vehicle on a Saturday located near our home. We had no choice as my wife and I share this vehicle and dont have any other means to travel to work. Rodeo Kia (the dealership) in Avondale, AZ has been very cooperative all along, and eventually (vehicle was in the shop for 1 week) the entire engine was replaced. But, we have yet to be refunded by the Warranty Administrator for the cost of the tow. Around $200.00. I am seriously disappointed as I have had to continuously contact the dealership to have this completed and I continue to receive answers in regards to blaming the Warranty Administrator. Ive been informed not only that the Warranty Administrator was changed, but that the dealership is now speaking with consumer affairs as well. This has been the most frustrating experience I have had as the problem continues to linger on.
Engine went out in my 2017 Kia Sorento. Kia will not honor warranty stating lack of maintenance because we cannot produce 2/5 oil change records they are asking for. Absolutely ridiculous that a car with 40,000 miles and regular mainline should have a failed engine.
On 10/12/2021, I brought my 08 Kia Sedona EX with 181k miles in for a Oil Change at Plaza KIA, Brooklyn NY. And was returned to me with the Oil Pressure light on dashboard followed by the Check Engine light. The mechanic saw the dashboards lights on while backing out the garage and tried to reset them, but to no avail. The Service Manager ran over claiming the mechanic done nothing wrong. Although, my vehicle didnt go in with these lights on. Kia claims no fault and blames the age of the vehicle. The Service Manager went on to state that they gave me a free diagnostic worth $129 and concluded that the Oil Sensor is the problem. And, that this repair and labor is a consumer purchase. The Mechanic attempted to inspect and troubleshoot this issue and was stopped by the Service Manager. I found this to be appalling and upsetting that my vehicle drove in to KIA fine and came out needing repair work that I have to pay for? Took vehicle to a independent shop nearby, They did inspection and found, 1) The Oil Sensor was not the issue and think its the Oil Pump... 2) KIA put 5W-30 Oil in instead of 10W-40 Oil for such a high mileage vehicle, stating 5W-30 is like water and best when vehicle was new... 3) That I should stop driving the vehicle immediately before the engine eats itself from low oil pressure. So, I called corporate, they claim no fault, wont take any steps or actions to resolve this issue, and asked that I no longer come to them for service. To me, this look like mechanical neglect and attempted cover up by KIA. So, So Upset. Buyer Beware!!!
Got a used 2013 Kia Soul with 47000 miles on it. I am really surprised about the underwhelming gas mileage. I thought they had downgraded the MPG but they should be downgrading it further to 20 mpg in the city and 23 on the hwy. I am getting a consistent 20-21 ON ECO DRIVE, with city/hwy combined, pretty bad. After reading the reviews of people getting even less than that, even more unacceptable. I thought I would have this car for a while but am already considering selling it (I will definitely be blogging about the bad gas mileage because other people need to know before buying a Soul. Kia just straight up is still lying/exaggerating the mileage of this vehicle). After some research regarding fuel economy on the Soul, it seems that Kia was called out due to their claims that it got better mileage. I see that Kia did a lifetime reimbursement program for owners of Kia Souls from 2011-2013, but apparently no one is getting their settlements because there are some appeals. So maybe it is not so voluntary?
I purchased new First Edition Kia EV6. The first editions came with a free home charger. Unfortunately, it was not with car when I drove it off the lot and the dealership had no clue on how to get it or even what the process was. I have contacted Kia corporate twice with no help and even contacted the company that is supposed to ship it with no help. No one at the dealership or at Kia has any definitive info on this program. Buyers of the EV 6 are left with being able to charge their cars at home. It’s an egregious process and someone at Kia needs to step up and give customers valid information.
I’m a second time ‘Kia lemon vehicle’ purchaser and I have filed a case with the Better Business Bureau. Both vehicles I purchased classify as lemon vehicles because they both came with manufacturing defects that affected my safety. I currently own a 2018 Kia Stinger that has a malfunctioning audio system and is now automatically shutting off while in drive mode. This is the 2nd Kia vehicle that has shut off on me in the middle of traffic, causing a terribly dangerous situation. I have been to the Kia Cumming, GA dealership on 3 separate occasions to address my audio system issue. To be driving a $36,000 vehicle with less than 50k miles and be frightened that my car will shut off in the middle of the highway, AND have to listen to audio system static for every 10-15 seconds FOR 8-MONTHS, is unacceptable.I took my previous Kia vehicle to the dealership on multiple occasions, over a period of years with engine/starting issues, before the engine finally failed. Kia having known that this was an issue, and not doing the right thing to rectify it before I became stranded on the side of the road, was disheartening and should have prevented me from placing faith in the company again. The inconvenience that both vehicles has caused me in continuous Kia service appointments and phone calls, is so ridiculous.Foolishly I remained loyal to the brand, and traded in my previous Kia vehicle for another, only to have the SAME type of concerns arise, engine/transmission issues AND now audio system issues as well. My new vehicle is a gorgeous royal blue Kia Stinger, which causes me to get frequent attention and have questions asked pertaining to the vehicle on a weekly basis. I can honestly tell you that my response when people ask, “How do you like the car” has absolutely changed, and my response is now “DON’T BUY A KIA”!
Rear shocks were leaking - I had to replace rear tires, car has 56k miles. Kia says Kias 60k warranty or 5-year warranty is void because 15 wheels were changed to 17 and car wasnt build for 17 wheels and tires (give me a break). I asked several tire shops. All said tires were ruined because of defective leaking shocks, not the size of wheels or tires.
I went out to my car for an afternoon meeting and the material on my console was melted in a spit. It was clearly melted. I parked in the sun that day but it was only 69 degrees out. I went to a meeting earlier that day at 1100 and it was fine. I called Kia in Liberty Lake, WA and reported it and told me it wasnt covered under my bumper to bumper warranty because it didnt melt all the way, just in a spot. They refuse to even submit it to Kia out pay to cover it. My $25000 purchase shouldnt melt for any reason. I do not recommend ever buying a Kia. They lure about their warranties and try to get you to pay. I am more filing out under the Lemon Law.
What started out as a seemingly annoying problem went from bad to worse. The fan on my heater/air conditioner wouldnt turn off. I immediately called Kia and was told not a problem - bring it in and they will take care of it - earliest appointment was almost 2 weeks. THEN, about 8 days later the idiot lights related to the fan started flashing. Called again, not a problem - probably set off a sensor due to the fan running. THEN, while driving on the freeway, all the dashboard lights related to speed, mileage, gas level... went OUT along with the headlights. Called immediately and was told I could drop it off but they didnt have any loaners so it was decided I would bring it in the next day. When I came in, I was told I would be charged $102 for a diagnostic test - since it had to be done I agreed. After waiting 3 hours they said they couldnt find the problem so I got a RENTAL for $35 a day. After waiting all day to hear something, I got a call - still no resolution and it would cost me AT LEAST another couple of hundred to continue to locate the problem. NO CHOICE!!! I had to agree - I needed my car back. So today I get a call - the wiring harness which controls everything frayed and melted!!! And SURPRISE, its not covered. How the heck is that not a problem with the product??? So, now I have to pay over $1000 to get it fixed. UNFREAKING BELIEVABLE!!! BUYER BEWARE.
