Kia Automobile Troubleshooting

If you're looking for help fixing your Kia Automobile, look no further! Our comprehensive Kia Automobile Troubleshooting guide will explain common issues, provide tips, and show you how to read your model's error codes.

Stalling
This can cause new motorists alarm. You are driving smoothly then all of a sudden the car comes to a complete halt in the middle of the road.
If this happens on a highway, you may find yourself causing serious accidents. The car stalling’s main reason includes faulty filters, fuel lines, or defective crankshaft position sensor.

Overheating
When your car is overheating, it could be a signal for serious engine trouble. The internal combustion system produces a lot of heat. The coolant plays the vital role of cooling the engine block by dissipating excess heat to the radiator.
However, coolant leaks could mean that less coolant is reaching the engine block. This can cause overheating, which, when not contained, can lead to further engine problems.

Oil pressure problems
Oil plays a vital role in lubricating all the moving parts in the car. When your oil is old, it will form a sludge that makes it hard to operate efficiently. This will cause unnecessary friction amongst the movable parts leading to overheating and wear.
Oil pressure problems are something you never want because it can result in expensive repair costs like engine replacements.
Also, identify the right type of oil that has offers good viscosity. Nowadays, many motorists prefer using synthetic oils.

Low Charge from Alternator
When your car starts to get old, the effect from the alternator will get worse and worse. This is due to the brushes inside of it is getting worn. You can replace the brushes in some cases, but sometimes you have to replace the whole alternator.
Checking the alternator with a multimeter is easy. You should have around 13.5-14.5 volts on idle if it is working properly.

Squeaking or Grinding Brakes
Squeaking or Grinding brakes can often be caused by worn brake pads or worn brake discs. It can also happen if a stone gets stuck between the brake rotor and the brake pads.
Worn brakes are very common in cars that are not getting cared for enough.

Bad Wheel Bearings
Bad wheel bearings are a common issue in modern cars. You can hear a wheel bearing when you are driving at higher speeds.
You will identify a bad wheel bearing by listening to the road sound while turning slowly left or right. If the noise changes, you do for sure have a bad wheel bearing.

Smoke from the exhaust
A functioning car produces some smoke in terms of exhaust gases. This is often colorless unless when you are starting your car during winter.
However, excessive smoke is a signal of serious engine trouble. The color and smell of the smoke will offer clues as to what is wrong.
If the smoke is white, then it may be your coolant that could be leaking, while if you have thick blue colored smoke, it could be oil getting into the combustion chambers. If it is black, it can mean that the engine is running too rich in fuel.

Tire punctures
It is common to experience occasional tire punctures. Tires do wear out, and when this happens, they are more prone to punctures. It is recommended that you avoid driving the car beyond the recommended tread wear.
It’s recommended to have all your tires changed after every 50,000 miles. You can also rotate them after every 10,000 miles in the worst case.

Worn out brake pads
It is dangerous to drive a car with worn-out brake pads. The brake pads wear out due to constant friction. When they wear out, you will often notice a squeaking sound.
Besides, you will need to hard press the brakes for them to be effective. This can be disastrous during emergency braking. Have your mechanic inspect your brake pads if you suspect that there is something wrong with them.

My 2013 Kia Soul, still under warranty, has major engine problems. An independent mechanic says its a cylinder. Kia refuses to repair without all service records since purchase. Many oil changes were done at home!! Im out a basically new car!! Anyone know of a class action against them about this matter? I know they had the same issues with Kia Sorento.

Everything the other reviewers are saying is true. First of all the dealer
Everything the other reviewers are saying is true. First of all the dealer coerced me to pay 900.00 over the sticker price. Before that they distracted me while their assoc. went to the car I chose, a base model ,and tried to change the sticker price from 13,000 to 15,000. When I objected they changed it back. Then the first thousand or so miles the steering wheel and tires would freezing / lock up while turning while driving incredulously. A few times I almost drove into vehicles or caused major accidents. Consumer assistance was no help at all. They refused to fix the problem saying they could not duplicate the issue. So I contacted dvohs to file a formal complaint. Then the vehicle wouldnt start at all many times, I had to call for jumps and tows sometimes in freezing weather. At ten thousand miles the clutch failed and had to be completely replaced. Now at 46,000 miles the car needs to be pushed down the hill just to get it to drive. Kia consumer hassle stated that the promises of bumper to bumper warranty does not exist. We are sorry they misled you that way. The warranty only covers the powertrain. The promise of free tires for the lifetime of the vehicle a total lie. They stated they are not obligated to honor any promises made by their representatives. The repairs at 46,000 miles which will be my total financial responsibility. They denied ever receiving previous calls at consumer assistance which is appalling. The dealership Columbus Ga hung up the phone in my face when I described my situation and refused to answer any more of my calls or voicemails. Kia refuses to honor their PROMISES TO customers and blatantly admit their claims of 100,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty is a complete lie. Never buy Kia. If you have one trade it in for something else or you will be hung out to dry. The attorney general, Better Business Bureau, and consumer affairs have abandoned the Kia consumers. I will be saddled with bills I never expected for a car that is obviously a lemon and will never ever function properly. I spent my entire savings paying for this car. Now I have no money and soon at 46,000 miles no car or money to fix the car. There is no justice for KIA Soul owners either.

I purchased a 2017 Kia Sedona from a Kia dealer in Queens, NY in 2017 with 50 miles. The car is perfect for my family of six as it is roomy and the LX model offered enough accommodations which made it easy to travel with five children. I was very happy with my vehicle and Kia until recently. I had an engine malfunction while driving on a highway with a relative and my children. It was New Years Eve 12/31/20, and I decided to take my sister and children shopping at a store that was about ten miles away. We live in the Suburbs which can get rural in some areas and in order to get to this one store, in particular, I had to take a highway to travel there. When I initially started the car I heard a rattling sound which I thought was due to the cold weather, however, as I drove off and drove further and approached the highway the car started to decelerate. After the car decelerated the car cut off while I was driving. In a panic, I started the car again and pulled over to the side. I had to repeat turning the car on, the car shutting off and decelerating, turning the car on, and drive ten miles to return back home. The very next day 1/1/2021 I had the car towed to the dealership that handled my lease buyout. The service manager was nice exhibited professionalism and willing to offer exceptional services to ensure that my car was repaired and that I understood the repair process. He informed of charges that would be incurred if the warranty was not covered by Kia. So everything at the dealer was done with professionalism and courtesy. The problem that I experienced with Kia was and is that they are not honoring the warranty. The Service Manager indicated that receipts were required to document oil changes performed on the 2017 Kia Sedona to ensure that maintenance was performed routinely. I provided receipts that were kept from service performed from Kia dealerships, however, was unable to produce enough receipts for Kia to honor the warranty. I contacted the Kia Customer Service which represents corporate, the customer services representatives I spoke with exhibited professionalism and advised me to try to get receipts of purchases of oil for any oil changes done outside of a service shop. However, I am unable to. So here I am one and a half months without a car, I am renting a car while paying my monthly finance bill, and I believe Kia will not honor my warranty because of lack of receipts of oil changes.I also find it ironic that I had the car serviced in November 2020 at a Kia dealership and they are not honoring the repairs. I hope that this issue is not an issue with the Sedona as I had around 65,000 miles on the car at the time the engine malfunctioned. I did check another website United States Department of Transportation Traffic Safety Administration where recently a consumer reported the same issue. I pray that this is not the beginning of an issue like Kia experienced with the Kia class engine failure class-action lawsuit in 2019. Although I love the Kia Sedona I probably will not purchase another Kia if the company does not offer reasonable solutions for this matter.

I had a 2007 Kia Sorrento. I say had because the engine blew up. Actually it failed because of a defective part in the engine. It had 90,000 miles on it and Kia refused to do anything. They should have replaced the engine at their cost but no, I suggest to split the cost with them, but no. This claim went through several levels of the corporate customer service, and they were not helpful at all. All this took weeks for them to investigate, which they actually did nothing. This should not be the way they treat customers. And let me say, I own another Sorrento, I have recommended, and friends and family have bought several Kia. No longer do they get my support.

Kia Rio Gearbox problems - This vehicle was bought brand new on 2nd May 2013 from the Kia Northcliff, Cresta, South Africa branch. The vehicle started to develop gearbox problems with the gears getting stuck intermittently. After speaking to Mr. **, National after sales manager, Kia South Africa, he arranged that the vehicle had to go for assessment. The vehicle was sent to Kia to assess and fix the problem. They have replaced certain parts whilst trying to rectify the problem. After receiving the vehicle back, the problem was not solved. The vehicle was returned to Kia, and after one weeks assessment, Mr. ** (Workshop Manager at Kia Northcliff) responded the following: At the time of testing the vehicle we could not fault the vehicle. The vehicle is still giving the same problem and Kia is not prepared to accept that this is a factory fault and is not willing to replace this vehicle. I am sending this complaint now to the South African National Consumer Commission, Hello Peter, Verbruikersraad Beeld, The Automobile Association, Kia South Africa Head Office and trust that somebody will assist me to solve this problem once and for all, seeing that Kia is not prepared to accept responsibility.

I purchased a brand new 2019 KIA Sportage two days ago. Its the first time I drove it today. It popped up a warning message (with yellow light) after one mile of driving, saying Low Tire Pressure. I called the road service to check it up. Based on the User Manual, the tire pressure should be around 35 in cold weather. But for my car, three tires were around 30 and one was 27. I am just wondering: Do they really check up everything and make sure it meets all the criteria before they deliver it to the customers??? Well, this is just the first day. The service guy inflated the tires. I will keep an eye on it in the following days to see whether its the problem that they didnt inflate it enough before delivering or the tires are really bad and they deflate gradually. Anyway, my first day of driving a brand new car, was ruined.

Just wanted to vent in regards to the poor quality of my Rio. I bought it used from my local KIA dealership in February, 2012, and financed on a three year contract. On June 18, 2013, I was driving it in town and it just died on me with no warning. A policeman happened to be going by, and he helped me guide it to the side of the road and stayed with me to direct traffic until a tow truck could arrive. This was a dangerous situation and I am grateful that the policeman was there. I had my car towed to a mechanic my family has used locally for 30 years. The tow truck driver and policeman guessed that it was either a started problem or an alternator; I was shocked when the mechanic called me to report that my engine was gone and I would need to purchase a new one. Specifically, on the mechanics report, it stated that the car has suffered a catastrophic engine failure...cylinder has dropped a valve and there is damage to another cylinder. There was no possible way I could afford to buy a new engine, but a used one was located, which would have cost me $2700 for parts and installation. Being I still owed payments on the car until February, 2015, I knew I could not pay for the car plus the engine replacement. The mechanic volunteered that he hated to see me invest the money into replacing the engine because the car was just not worth it. He recommended I sell it for scrap, perhaps getting $400-$500. Unfortunately, being I was still owing payments on the car, the option of selling it was not an option. At this time, my KIA Rio had 97,000 miles on it. My next step was to contact my local KIA dealership and explain what had happened. I thought it was incredible that the engine had completely failed ~ I had kept up on oil changes and normal maintenance, even paying KIAs service department to replace a disintegrated gear shift four months after purchasing the car! Not once had I been notified that the engine had issues. The dealership did not address the engine dying problem, but rather tried to talk me into trading in the dead car and buying a new(er) one. This would have meant I would have had to add the remaining balance due on my dead car into the amount of my payments on a new(er) car, something I could not possibly afford. KIA did offer to replace my engine with a used one for $2200, $500 less than my mechanic quoted, but by this time I had spoken with friends in the car repair business who agreed that my Rio was not worth fixing. By searching online, I was shocked to read about the same problem other Rio owners had posted. Is this a KIA manufacturing problem? My family have owned many cars, various makes and models, running into high mileage, and have never had an engine completely fail like this. I cannot help but think this is a poorly made car and I do not understand why a recall was never initiated once it became obvious that many customers were losing engines. It makes me sick when I realize I am still responsible for payments on a car sitting dead in my garage. I honestly feel the engine failed through no fault of mine and I am furious that KIA is allowed to continue ignoring such a major concern of Rio owners.

One of our customers at our shop has a 100k mile warranty on her vehicle and her Valve Body went bad at 94000 miles. It is a part that should be covered under warranty. She has kept up on all of the maintenance on her vehicle per the warranty booklet and has records to prove it. Peak Kia was awful to deal with. They suggested replacing the Transmission and that it wasnt going to be covered under warranty. The grand total was 4000 dollars. The assistant service manager was a complete jerk. He stated that if she didnt have 3 Transmission services at 30k, 60k, and 90k then her warranty was void. I read the warranty book a few times to make sure I wasnt missing anything. She was supposed to at 90k for normal driving conditions. The book stated at 30k and 60k the Transmission should be serviced if the car is driven in severe conditions. Her car is not. We have been trying to get this covered since June. I have spoke to the corporate office in July and still havent received any word from them. Completely unacceptable! She has called multiple dealers as well as corporate and has only heard back today just to tell her they are still working on it. Come on, seven months. Here is what I have gathered from the situation. Kia could care less about their customers. Kia would rather lose a customer than please a customer.

I give 5 starts for the sales lady and 1 star for the financing department. We made a deal with the sales lady Josslyn and she went to her manager Eric everything was set 60 months at $320 per month we get to the financing dept he goes no way that cant happen. I told him, No Eric said 60months @320 its a deal. We bought the KIA. Well, in financing it ended up 72 months at 328? My husband said not to make a scene so I said well when I come pick up the tags I will talk to the manager Eric and Josslyn. That happens yesterday 10-29-11.The financing guy said you should have told me .I informed him I did more than once he kept telling me that wasnt going to happen. So yesterday, he goes the paper work has been file so what do you want me to do. I informed him I wasnt happy the manager and sales person gives you a price and when you get back to his office whatever the manager say doesnt mean anything I dont feel that is right .This isnt the first vehicle we have gotten. He was wrong charging us one more yr I know we could have said no to the car but my husband said go ahead but if he has done it once how many other times has he done it to other customer. He had no excuse but it cant be done yet the manager gave us a discount because it was a 2011 and the finance guy didnt and wouldnt sale it to us at what the manager and sales person quoted us.

I brought my 2009 Kia to the dealership for a free upgrade on the covers for the back of the rear seats. And they also completed a free ECM upgrade according to Kias recommendations, without consulting me before doing so because Kia states that they have the right to do any and all upgrades without asking the owner of the vehicle while the vehicle is on their property and being serviced. I wouldnt have stopped them before or after, why should I, any free upgrade for my vehicle is great... but about a week or so later, my transmission started jerking when the automatic transmission downshifted from 2nd gear to 1st gear. I brought it back to the dealer and they said that since there were no warning lights or codes for the problem, they didnt know what to do. So they waited for info from their tech line. Time went by so I made an appointment for them to check my transmission fluid level again. Being it’s a sealed transmission, I am not qualified to check it and according to Kia Corporation, this transmission fluid in the V-8 is Lifetime, no regular changing is needed. The fluid costs around $80 a quart!!!!! Really???I brought my Kia Borrego to the dealer for the appt to check the transmission fluid level and the service manager said that they couldnt check the level until I prepaid for a couple of quarts of fluid due to the high price of it per quart and also that they didnt have any at the dealership and would have to special order it and receive the fluid before they checked the transmission fluid level. Im fuming! So, I politely with a smile showed the service manager their maintenance service checklist that they performed on my vehicle when they did the ECM upgrade. On it, it says that they checked all fluid levels and checked my transmission fluid level and it was signed. The service manager quickly declined saying they couldnt check it and didnt check it. So they were falsifying documents by saying that they did but now they dont. A few days later I made an appointment to talk to the Owner of the dealership. And after a bunch of defying belief of my issue, he supposedly bypassed the service manager and asked the mechanic directly if he checked the fluid and the answer was yes. Hmm, as for the hard jerking of the transmission, the Owner says that that is normal, most Kia vehicles downshift hard. He said that his Kia downshifts hard!! Its getting deeper. So I brought my Kia to a different dealership in a different city and their solution, remove the transmission and a used transmission was installed due to my extended warranty outside of Kia. A few months later, the hard downshifting starts again, mostly when the motor is cold, not from the weather, just after setting for a while. I brought it back to that dealership and they reset it back to its norm and made it worse. Now it’s doing the hard jerking all the time at the 2 to 1 downshift. From the get go, I told both dealerships and warranty people my thoughts and I blamed it on the ECM upgrade. Why would two transmissions give me that same problem?? My original transmission had around 90,000 miles. The used one had 30,000 miles. Ive put over 4,000 miles on the used one. Im waiting on answers from the second dealership on how they plan to correct this problem again. Im tired of all of this. I want my vehicle repaired correctly. I have an extended warranty up to 100,000 miles and a 1 year warranty on the used transmission that is in the Kia Borrego now. Any ideas or help will be greatly appreciated.

I traded in 2012 Kia Soul for a 2015 Kia Soul Plus. I got the car in June and I have been listening to the 3 month free promotion of Sirius Radio. I did not even notice that my new Kia has no CD player, until the other day when I went to put in a CD. I was completely shocked. My 2012 Kia did have it and I thought that the CD player was standard. I was not told when I leased this new 2015 Kia that there was no CD player. I feel that the salesman should have pointed that out to me. I am extremely disappointed and now I am looking through stores to see if I can buy a portable one to put in my car. Kia has fluffed up their look but their quality is still crap. Ive had my car in for service 8 times in 16 months. I bought my Kia Niro brand new and started having problems within less than 5 months of ownership. Im suing Kia to buy it back as a lemon. They dont communicate at all. They are not helpful and try to draw out the process as long as possible. Ive lost countless hours... even months at a time bringing this car into being repaired. 5 of the issues are repeat of the same thing. There was another reoccurring defect that took a couple repair attempts to get corrected. Parts on back order take a month to get. Techs at the dealership have talked to Kia techs at corporate and no one knows how to fix the car. The 5 reoccurring repair issue is still an ongoing issue because Kia doesnt know whats wrong. My transmission has already started to fault. My car almost stalled once after 5 months of ownership and the most recent issue is that it wont accelerate or shift into the next gear. Huge safety issues! Ill probably get into an accident but Kia is in no hurry to address any of that.

Now a few weeks ago my battery died on me. I had to purchase a new battery from the dealership. My Bluetooth is not working they told me that the Bluetooth was covered, so they thought it may be the speaker because I could hear the other person but they could not hear me talking to them. Kia South Atlanta has to be the most unprofessional and dishonest business
Kia South Atlanta has to be the most unprofessional and dishonest business that I have ever dealt with. I had two diagnostics prepared from two other locations free of charge on my 08 Kia Rio due to the check engine light. The car broke down 2 months after I purchased it (Fayetteville Ga)on the misfire of a plug . The steering wheel cracked up after 3 months and it was not covered on a new car. The same problem re-occurred. The dealer charged a diagnostic fee of $89 that was to be refundable. The first time the exact same problem occurred, it cost $145 not including my personal towing fee ($50). This time, the same problem cost $216 and the $89 for the diagnostic was not refunded. First, they dont keep their word, so get it in writing. As a first time owner, I expected better treatment; however, I learned my lesson. Service is horrible. They were supposed to call me. When the vehicle was ready repaired, there was no call. I took the car to them at 10:30 on 1/30/12 and it was to be ready at 5:45. They didnt even call me. I called Kia South at 5:40 and they stated the auto was ready. However, upon arrival, they charged for the diagnostic and the auto was, in fact, ready. I am very disappointed in the service and I feel that I should not have to pay the $89 fee when I had already had that action performed which identified the problem. Consumers need to be made aware of hidden fees because Kia will not. I paid $89 for a problem that was identified before I even went to Kia South for the repair. Beware, as a new car owner, the 100000 mile warranty is no good and the service also. Thank God its almost paid off. I will never deal with Kia again.

I am still waiting for the Kia branch in Johannesburg, Meadowdale to let me know whether reverse light switch of my Kia Picanto will be replaced as its torn and beyond economical repair. Rochelle, the service advisor, promised me she will keep me updated within the next 3-4 days. My car went in last week, Thursday, for handbrake and starter repair. I phoned today after a whole week waiting to hear from Kia Meadowdale. And apparently, Rochelle is still waiting to hear about the warranty on the switch. Why is something so small taking so long to get feedback on?

I actually have not had a problem with my 2016 Kia Sorrento. It now has 40K miles and it has been relatively trouble free. Dealership was good and provided good service. Not so with Kia customer service. I exercised my purchase option over 50 days ago and have struggled getting a title from them or getting any assistance with temporary tags as the old tags expired. For anyone exercising your option to purchase make sure you do it through your dealership and not directly with Kia as they are completely inept and not helpful.

I’ve bought three Kia cars. I love the design and price but I’m done with Kia. Two of the cars have had engine problems. One the rod went through the engine (Kia Soul). They replaced it with no problem, gave me a rental car and everything went smoothly. This second one has been painful (Kia Sorento). After months and multiple trips to the dealer because a light was on but they couldn’t find any issue, the car finally stopped working in the middle of rural GA. Because of the pandemic, while they fixed the engine, I had to rent a rental car. Of course it took months, I understand parts etc are issues at this point. But in the almost three months since I’ve had the car back and I’ve had to take the car in for that same light twice with fixes that I’ve had to pay for, I haven’t received my rental reimbursement after submitting the request almost three months ago but they’ve said I went over their daily cap for reimbursement despite the fact I had the lowest tier rental and used a discount code. Note, nowhere in the paperwork or multiple conversations with the dealer and corporate did they say there was a daily cap. And they’re not responding to requests for an update. I’m going to look for a new SUV this weekend. I’m done with Kia!

The Car is Kia cerato 2011 with identification number of KNAFW411BB5369214. The purchase date was15-7-2011 and the number of kilometers is 9000. The car has been received on 15-7-2011 from the main branch (Abu rRwash, Cairo /Alex. Desert road) and after one month from using the car, it was noted when two persons ride on the back seat that a crack sound in the suspension system is heard. I went to Kias agent Elgendy 3S Elmahalla Elkobra branch to solve this problem and accordingly, after the maintenance, the sound disappeared. After five days only from the maintenance, the sound comes back again. As of now, I went six times to Kias agents and every time sound disappears and comes back after 4-5 days from maintenance. I have sent more than one complaint to the Egyptian International Trading & Agencies Co. and until now the problem is not yet solved. Upon this, I have advised all of my friends and relatives not to buy any Kia cars as bad after sales services increase customer dissatisfaction and negatively affect Kias sales and reputation. Finally, I need my problem to be solved; otherwise my car needs to be replaced. Thanks and kind regards.

Disappointed customer. I thought I was making a smart choice when I bought my used 2011 Kia Sorrento (Liberty Ford) boy was I wrong. The reason for the purchase I needed a reliable car as I drive 500 miles a week from home to work and with Kia having a 10 year 100k mile warranty and the car only having 70k miles on was to me at the time a no brainer. I had the car a little over a year and the engine went. I did purchase the extended warranty from Liberty but because it was a Kia they could not work on it and sent it to Bedford Kia for inspection. After numerous phone calls and even an in-person visit, they had my car for 52 days before it was fixed and returned to me. They put in a new/used engine that had at the time 65k miles on it so I thought once again I was in good shape, well I was wrong again. This engine lasted 11 months and 22k miles and because I was over the miles, I was told in not so many words - sucks to be you right now, you will have to foot this bill. I also want to note this engine quit on me as I was slowing down for an accident that was on the freeway. I was going about 60mph at the time, tapped the brakes to slow down and the engine quit. I had to limp the car from the high speed lane to the berm with no power, it was a very dangerous situation at the time. I am just trying to understand as a customer that had 2 bad engines where the accountability as a manufacturer is? I do understand warranties but all I was looking for was someone to say we understand and give me some kind of help. I wasn’t looking for Kia to pay the entire bill but 2 engine failures engines that only made it to around 80k that were not my fault some help would have been nice. All toll right now I have around $6.200 invested back in a car I only paid $7,400 for. As a single father of 6 working 2 jobs this was a bill I did not need. With all this being said I would like to thank my mechanic at Done-Rite Auto who treated me as a person first and a customer second by cutting his price on labor and parts and had the car fixed in 3 days as opposed to the 52 it took Kia to fix it.

I cant believe all these people have had the same issue regarding their motor blown. I have a Kia Soul (2010) at 50,000 miles. Motor burnt up right in front of my eyes! No engine light, no oil light just pop... done! And as I read on and on, I see this is a very common issue. Dealerships are refusing to admit Kia has an issue with this and manufacturer refusing to pay under warranty. This is a class action lawsuit if I ever saw one! I am copying all of these complaints and if someone has already started one let me know. If not, Im on my way to do so. Enough is enough, email me with your story and we will need evidence so make sure you have all paperwork.

I will NEVER EVER buy a KIA Optima or any KIA. First it has a bad AIR CONDITIONER, now my engine is BLOWN. Warranty does not cover it. I bought a 2014, last year although I did oil changes engine started to let out BLACK SMOKE. Took it to KIA, they said I never did an oil change even though I showed them Oil Change receipt. They took the engine apart and said we needed a new engine. So the car is sitting outside my house with no ENGINE. It sort of an advertisement that KIAs are NO GOOD, NO GOOD. My other car has almost 160,000 miles, no engine problem. I had 2 Toyotas, they ran over 200,000 miles - never had engine problem.

I bought a 2011 Kia Rio5 in the spring of 2011 from Kia Sudbury. Since then Ive had nothing but horror from the vehicle and nothing but the same problem over and over again. I spent 24.000 and the car is breaking from new to now with the same continuous problems. Ive had the mechanic at Sudbury Kia dent my car while being serviced and they denied it. Sudbury Kia does not sell the tires for the Car they sold me. They also do not offer wheel alignments which is sad when you want your winter tires out in or your alignment set after they do the inner barring 3 times on the same tire. Even after an alignment at Fountain Tire in Sudbury, My 2011 Kia Rio5 has blown 6 coil packs and a cylinder update from 30000 and till now. New radio 2 weeks after buying the car. Because the button paint cracked all over the deck Ive had the same cobweb in my rpm gauge because Kia Sudbury didnt want to take the dash apart after me just buying the car and noticing it shortly after. My inner barring has blown 3 times on the front passenger side of the car. The car wont stay aligned. Ive had Sudbury Kia Fix the lights in the interior of the car and got oil all over the roof and didnt install the right light and broke the other one and now it hangs there only because the guy couldnt put the light back into the ceiling of the car. The back latch on the car locked up because of a piece of foam Kia seals the back lock with. The foam breaks after a while and gets stuck in the door, leaving you without a rear door.If you boost the car it blows the fuses for the radio and lights, it doesnt start in the cold and if you turn the key every 20 seconds when it doesnt start it will eventually start. When that happened I brought my car to Kia Sudbury and they couldnt help me unless my car didnt start, which it didnt thats why I was bringing it to them, but no help at all. The car is no good on gas. If youre on the highway, the 4th gear stays on too long which leaves you burning gas a lot, the car now is almost finished at 115000. The car is not good and unreliable and costly. Kia damaged my car and didnt help me at all with getting to what was the problem. They just covered it up. My car is now a really loud, misfiring riding pop can that costs a lot.

2011 Optima - We purchased this vehicle brand new 20 months ago at Big Red in Norman. No problems until approx. Jan/Feb, the engine started making bad noises. I took it to Big Red service dept. They treated us like we were idiots and they didnt hear anything. I took it back as it progressively got worse, only to be told they didnt know what the noise was but they could not fix it and sent us away. We traveled to Bob Howard Kia in Edmond, OK and wasted two weekends only to be sent away and told we never changed the oil! Its ridiculously disrespectful to us to assume we didnt take care of this brand new vehicle! We each have brand new cars and trucks in this family and each one of us care 100% for each vehicle. On time oil changes, all maintenance, etc! Finally, service manager, Todd **, said, Prove you did oil changes! Bring receipts! We spent a full week collecting as many receipts as humanly possibly! I drove back to Kia Edmond to show to service manager, Todd **, only to be told after another wasted day of waiting and given the runaround, at last he said, Oh but they didnt use Kia filters. Sorry, now I cannot help you! Nowhere does any document you sign buying a brand new car does it indicate you have to use a Kia filter only! This service manager was making things up as he went along to us! Very upset. Now, the car cannot even be driven! We need help ASAP or comments on what to do now? I contacted every single Oklahoma State Organization I could think of and Kia Edmond online several times and still not one phone call or email. Sad, sad, sad to drive a 10-year warranty vehicle along with extended warranty only to be turned down or totally ignored at every turn.

I got all my service schedule work done on time at the Kia dealership (All Star Kia). My Kia Rio stopped on my wife on her way home. Because of the 10-year, 100-thousand mile warranty, I had it taken to the nearest Kia dealer (Citrus Ford Kia). They asked for all my service records which I got from All Star Kia. I was told I was in good shape because I had all my service work done at a Kia dealership and on time. My car timing belt broke and damaged the motor. So they submitted it to Kia for approval. After wasting two weeks of my time, I was first told by their customer service rep that she found out I only had two oil changes so they denied. After informing her that I had my records, she checked again. The next time, she said she had good news, after looking at my records she asked the district manager to reconsider my claim. She called back to say the district manager found a copy where they made a note on one of my service records to have the timing belt looked at. Although I had all my records, the service rep at All Star and at Citrus Ford looked and had not found that. When I got the copy from the District Manager, you can tell he had altered the paperwork. Timing belt is scheduled to be changed at 105,000 miles, I have 82,000. They said you must have it looked at at 60,000. To top all that, they kept my car two weeks and charged me $500 to check the timing belt, which I told them that was the problem. The warranty is just a selling point.

My 21 year old gr-daughter bought this brand new Kia. Put $4,000 down, financed $19,000. Car started to accelerate. Took it back to Monroeville Kia. They kept it from July 5th till middle of August. No rental car, nothing and insisted there is nothing wrong with it. Kara **, my granddaughter, was so afraid to drive it again as she was almost in accident and said take it back 1500 miles on it. After weeks of trying everything she had to settle for $17,000. A loss of more than $6,000. How can a dealership account for doing that to a 21 year old?? That is how Monroeville Kia treated a young girl who saved her money for a new car. Shame on them!!!!!!!!!!

Two weeks ago we purchased a new 2014 Kia Soul +. And less than 48 hrs/200 miles later, a loud clunk noise occurred at 45 mph, causing the vehicle to jump, and thereafter was stuck in 4th gear. The dealer replaced a computer module that controls the transmission. Had to drive a loaner for 5 days then got repaired Kia back... Within 24 hrs/60 miles, the same clunk, again stuck in 4th gear. The service dept guy told me there was nothing for them to look at unless the check engine light was on.. so I continued on to work, driving 45 mph on 4-lane highway for 35 miles :( . The check engine light did eventually come on. Back to the service dept, where they said they needed to reset the system with the new module. After another 2 days of driving a loaner, picked up the (repaired) Soul within 36 hrs/70 miles, another clunk and stuck in 4th gear. I should mention that the clunk feels like the equivalent of driving over a speed bump at 45 mph.. it jars the entire vehicle and causes me to have a startle response.. I believe there MUST be damage occurring. My Soul+ is again back at the dealer, for what the service guy said would likely be several days.. He also said he had no idea why it was malfunctioning. I believe the dealer should replace the car.. It was NOT sound when I bought it.. I dont trust driving it not knowing when it might malfunction again. If I happened to be in heavy traffic when it happens again, I could very well have an accident due to the startling nature of the event. I am paying for a brand new vehicle purchased 13 days ago, that I have driven for less than 5 days AND in Illinois. This vehicle is nearly covered by the Lemon Law.. just one more failed repair attempt and were there :(

This is the first brand new car I ever bought. I bought it because I was sick of always having to fix my used car. I wrongly assumed I would not have this problem with a new car. I bought it in October. The acceleration sticks on gear change, but I didnt want to spend my life in the shop (again) so I deal with it. When summer hit, I found out the AC didnt work. I scheduled a service time. The guy on the phone was a bit rude but I chalked it up to him probably having a bad day. They dye the AC and tell me to come back in a week. Its still blowing cold, but I bring it back as requested. They cannot find the issue, so they send me on my way. Two weeks later, its blowing hot air again. I have to go back. This time they tell me the hose is broken and replace it. It took them 3 days to replace a single hose. While I am grateful I received a car to drive in the meantime, it was the most disgusting pile of garbage I had ever had the displeasure of driving. Whoever had previously owned this vehicle did not in any way take care of it. After day 3 of calling and waiting for the car to be fixed, I drove over to the dealership after work and vowed to wait until they took care of it, regardless how long it took. I walked in and they asked if I was there to pick up my car. They never bothered to call me.Today I had a flat tire. No spare in the trunk, which I had foolishly thought would be standard for every vehicle. I called the dealership and was told to call roadside assistance, which was free. Okay, fair enough, but if the tire cant be fixed, I cant afford to buy a new one right now, so I dont know if thats a good idea. I was blown off (same guy as earlier, still rude so obviously not just a bad day thing) and told to just call roadside assistance and go from there. I was also told that tires were not covered under the warranty, which was the only question he bothered to answer. Of course they arent. In all, because I did not have a spare tire, it took me 6 hours and a total loss of days wages to get a flat tire fixed, and surprise! Its covered under warranty. So not only was the guy rude, but he lied to me too. I have become more acquainted with the service staff at Kia in the last 9 months than I was with my mechanic in the last two years of my used car. I bought a new car to avoid that.I am very dissatisfied with Kia and their customer service. I requested a manager when I got there, to discuss the issue of the rude representative, and he never once showed his face in the time I was waiting for my car to be fixed. Because of that, I came here to post a public review instead of keeping the issue between me and the manager.

The third time they just bent it again.Today, on my way home, I was almost on E and of course, my gas door would not open. It is very frustrating to have a car that you are not able to put gas in. I received my 2011 Sorento today, after it being at the dealership for nearly three months. It underwent catastrophic engine failure due to a faulty camshaft causing the engine to seize. We are the second owner and the car was 2000 miles over the used car warranty of 60000 miles - the issues we had were exactly the same as what was noted in a class action suit for earlier models. The dealership was fair, providing us with a loaner car after a month of the car being there (we only have one vehicle). Corporate however was astonishing in its lack of professionalism and dishonesty. Corporate insisted that we have a diagnostic done and that I would not be responsible for it if it showed that we were not at fault, we were not and they did not cover it. They told us and a dealership employee that they would cover half of the engine and labor. They did not and then denied the statement and refused to pull phone tapes that would prove it. I also left over 40 messages for the manager without a single call back. Even the dealership employee said they were notorious for this kind of behavior. Im disappointed and frustrated and urge anyone dealing with corporate to tape their calls as well. Thank you.

My wife and I drove our vehicle on a service recall with KIA motors and during the conversation on the phone my wife mentioned the right directional was not working. Anthony current manager stated that he would give my wife a quoted price of 15.00 for the bulb holder instead of the regular price of 40.00 dollars. We were both grateful for the savings as we are now retirees. When walked up to parts and service counter we asked for the right directional signal and stated to the counter rep. that Anthony quoted us 15.00 Dol. for the part, he stated that the part is 40.00 dollars not 15.00. So my wife asked to speak to Anthony. My wife introduced herself as the one he quoted the discounted price to. Anthony denied the conversation. I was there next to my wife when this conversation was taking place. I told him, Why did you quote this part price if you were not going to honor it? My wife just spoke to you on the phone. How did we know your name and asked for you if this was not so. I told him as a previous manager for a marketing firm if you lack loyalty and good customer service you wont last long as quote (manager). For this reason my wife and I have decided to stay with Folsom KIA. Their quality of SERVICE IS AMAZING!!

The Kia Sorento is my SUV and I just love it. Its roomy and drives well. Being older I like the fact that the car is high not one of those low cars. And being so high I have a better view of the road. I also like that the back seats can be put down to make more room for storage and there is a rack on top of the car for extra luggage or storage as well. What I dont particularly like about this car is the fact that the tires on this car are quite large and expensive. And if you need repairs its quite expensive due to the fact all the parts are under a protective cover that requires taking off the cover. So if you need to brake fluid this cover needs to be removed by a mechanic. But other than that, the Sorento handles quite smoothly when driving.

I have received my 2nd safety recall on my 2010 KIA Soul which I bought brand new at Terry Reid KIA in Cartersville, GA. I had to relocate to Green Valley, AZ in 7/13 to come under the treatment of a highly specialized physician after becoming extremely ill as I was unknowingly put into a hazardous toxic mold environment at a resort which we eventually found behind all the wallpapered areas -- this facility had been infested with this toxic molds, come to find out, for years with no action being taken. I am now multi-chemically sensitive and cannot be in any dealerships where there are smells and odors as it will complicate my situation even further. I was just directly exposed to poisonous pesticides at my complex as management did not put up advance warnings as to when these would be used around my building and have been extremely ill as a result. I have a KIA Soul which must be repaired and am unable to get it to the closest dealership (over 1 hr one-way from me) due to my health conditions, and this will take at least 3 hours to repair. I have emailed KIA Consumer Services to get my car towed into Jim Click KIA in Tucson to get this unsafe situation fixed. I would have to stay with my vehicle in an environment that I cannot be in as this is being repaired; no one to pick me up here, etc. So, we will wait and see what KIA will do to help me with this dilemma.

2013 Kia Sportage - I was driving on a parkway when the check engine, check oil and battery light came on and the engine completely seized. Thankfully I was able to pull over and not get into a possibly fatal accident with my wife in the car. I opened a case with Kia customer service. I have gotten nothing but the run around, explained that I am fully aware of the massive recall on thousands of thousands of Kias. This is exactly the issue that this recall is for and numerous reviews that Kia refuses to repair it and that they give the run around. I have filed a Better Business Bureau complaint and if need be fully plan to contact a lawyer. Repairs for a seized engine range from 3500-7000 for a new engine and I see countless reviews with the same issue with their cars and dealing with customer service.

The buying process of my 2016 Kia Sorento was great! I bought at Ourisman Kia of Chantilly in VA. I bought a brand new vehicle despite the fact that I absolutely LOVED my paid off 2002 Chevy Tahoe. It was giving me a lot of maintenance issues so I hesitantly said Ill buy new and save on repairs. All was great up until 5 months of having the car. It shut off on me twice out of nowhere. Both at red lights. I took it in for the scheduled oil change and so that this issue could be taken care of as well. The first response was We cant seem to find the issue. Would you like to take it home or leave it. Well of course I chose to leave it. A week went by no word other than they had to wait to get something back from Kia. After a month of being in a rental the matter was resolved. They had to replace the intake manifold (yes on a brand new car). 8 months later the car was acting up again. It would not accelerate and made a terrible noise along with rough idling. I took it in twice both times the dealer could not duplicate the problem so they couldnt do anything and I had to pick up or be charged for the loaner. All oil changes had been up to date via this same service shop. The car failed on me again a third time, I had it towed and after emails and text to the GM and service manager they were able to duplicate the issue. The ECM was then replaced (the car is a little over a yr at this point). I stressed again and again that I did not feel safe in this car. I am a single mother of 4 and work my butt off for a reliable vehicle and this vehicle was not it! I questioned if I had not been sold a lemon and that issue needed to be addressed. However both the GM and SM assured all was well now. I went on a 3 wk road trip right after this last visit at the end of June. Thankfully I made it problem free on my trip. But on my way home from NC on 7/24 the car overheated with no warning indications whatsoever. I was able to pull over to the shoulder before it just cut off on me. It was towed yet again (not even a month later) to the nearest dealer in NC. They have no idea why it overheated. Why so much work has needed to be done to such a new vehicle and informed me that the motor will probably need to be replaced. WHAT!!! I am so sick of this car and the dealer not caring at all that it was faulty from the start. I will be taking this up with an attorney and recommend not to buy KIA. I have been covered by its good warranty yes but that doesnt cover the safety of my kids or I. As far as the mechanics of the vehicle and the customer service when problem arise this purchase was not worth it!!

For all you women haters of the Kia television commercials that think Kia is sexist, the Mr. Sandman commercial to be exact, unless you ever had a penis, you arent going to get it. Its a man thing. Go with the flow. You dont see us men whining and complaining about all of the feminine hygiene products that bombard us during our television time. Theyre just gross and disgusting. Yeah, you bleed, yeah, you stink. Deal with it. Men are breeders. We eat, sleep and think sex. I guarantee that if your physical looks were like the bikini clad models that auditioned and were paid to be in those commercials, you will be standing in line with the rest of them.

My wife and I always bought Honda or Toyota vehicles but this time we decided to step out and give Kia a try. We spent time reviewing Kia Souls online and with people we knew owned them. And then we took the plunge and bought two. From the very first week we had problems. My wife could not get hers to start. We took it in three times and the manager over Kia side said You have to apply the break in Kias to start the vehicle. But I showed him in mine that it started just fine without applying the brake. Both Souls did not run right. They ran ragged and slow. It seemed to me that the direct fuel injected motor was not sync with the transmission. Our headlights would come on for no reason. My tire light would kick on but no tires were low and it would go off. The dash lights would dim in and out for no reason. The rain would leak in from poor sealant around windows. My brakes would lock with massive pressure for no reason. Each time we would go to dealer that would claim it was normal or could not duplicate the problem. After one month we were done! We traded them both in on two Toyotas. We had to go to 72 months to cover the loss on both Kias. Listen to me please!!! Listen!!! Look!!! Hear me!!! Kias are still junk! Do not buy one! The warranty is a sham to suck you in and make you into a sucker!!! This company should be forced out of business! They spend money on trying to improve their image but not on true research and quality!!! They make the outside and inside of their vehicles very appealing but the engine and components and electronics are still very bad!!! Please listen!!! Dont do it!!! I know you are reading this right now because you are diligent! Listen to me buyer! Dont buy a Kia!!!

My 2002 Kia just wouldnt start. I had it towed. The mechanic said that the problem is the switch (a $20 spare part), but because it was behind the timing chain. They had to tear the whole front of the engine off to get to it. It cost me $1100. I will never buy another Kia, and I will be telling all my friends to avoid them like the plague. It has been two months since I turned in my lease. At the time of turning in my lease, I was informed by the dealership that KIA MOTOR FINANCE would assist in creating an installment payment plan. Well, I was misinformed, and KIA MOTOR FINANCE is not willing to help a customer who recently got another lease from Kia. My wifes contract is coming up as well, and I was thinking of leasing another KIA vehicle, but after being just notified that KIA MOTOR FINANCE is not willing to assist with any payment plan and is ready to report it to the credit bureau, I see what type of COMPANY they are running. All they care is ruining someones credit who is willing to pay the debt off. Note, I am still making my monthly payments and have since I turned the car in January of this year. In conclusion, KIA FINANCE is not willing to work with anyone, and all they care is about their necks. Thanks, Kia for helping out a customer and a VET.

Are you thinking of buying a 2011 or 2012 Kia Sorento? Forget it! My wife a
Are you thinking of buying a 2011 or 2012 Kia Sorento? Forget it! My wife and I are both professionals who depend on our cars to get to work every day without fail. My wife is a pharmacist and I am an attorney. We are both in our 50s. In early 2010, we bought a 2011 Kia Sorento primarily because of the push-button ignition feature. My wife has advanced arthritis and the Honda Element she had been driving was hard for her to change gears with its dash-mounted shifter with the button on the thumb-side of the stick. We bought a brand new 2011 Kia Sorento from Lee Kia in Fort Walton Beach, Florida for under $26,000 financed through our credit union. The car performed well until 2 months ago, when we took it to the same dealer for a service recall we had gotten in the mail. When the car came back from the dealer, my wife said it was slow starting when she depressed the brake and pressed the push button ignition. On Monday, 7/18/11, the car would not start at all. It was completely dead. It then had 25,000 miles on it. I called Kia Roadside Assistance and they came and towed it to the same dealership that had done the recall work.It has been in the shop ever since then (18 days). I would repeatedly call the Service Department and speak with their manager Joe, who acted like he was annoyed at having to tell us anything! We were given a rental in the meantime at Kias expense, but this week they said they need a part that they cannot get and they have no idea when we will get the part back! I called the local General Manager at the beginning of this week. He was asked to call me back during the noon hour on my cell, but instead called me at 9:10 AM when I was in court and unavailable.I called and left messages for him the same day, but he did not return my call for 2 days. He then said that even though the car is built in Georgia – 6 hours from where we live here in Florida – his parts receiving facility in Atlanta was where he got his parts from and they did not have the part, a brake light component. In the meantime someone at the dealership told my wife that the problem with the push button ignition is endemic to Kia Sorentos, and they are trying to fix the Sorentos rolling off the line in Georgia with this problem now before they hit the public! So much for the security of buying a Korean car made in the USA. I told this to the local General Manager and his comment was that sounds like a story from the trenches, Ill check into it(!). The rental car we were given was a Ford fusion, low to the ground, which my wife cannot drive because she has a hip replacement. I told the General Manager this and he said he would have someone call the rental car agency to switch us out to something that rode higher. This was 2 days ago. That afternoon, the Service Manager Joe called and said he was trying to get us into another rental.I got tired of waiting for anyone to help us and 24 hours ago went to the rental car place and got put into another rental within 15 minutes of stopping by their office. I called the Service Manager after I left in the new rental and his sad story was he was still working on trying to find me another rental. I told him it would be nice if he would just call me daily with an update on the repair and the needed part. He said he would (this was at 3:30 PM yesterday). As of today at 1:30PM he has not called or left a message. Oh yeah, and when I called him earlier over 2 weeks ago, I was told I just got in. I have no idea what the status of your car is! This was at 7:35 AM (they open at 7:30AM) after no calls had been made to us the entire preceding day. Gee, sorry to distract you from chomping into that creme-filled doughnut buddy! As soon as we get this car back, if we ever do, I am running to replace it with a reliable Honda. If not repairable after 30 days I will be seeking an attorney to sue the company and the dealership for breach of warranties and fraud, under the Florida Lemon Law Act and any other cause of action that fits. Stay tuned.

We own a 06 Kia Sorento that we bought new from Jack Key in Las Cruces, NM. Once it hit 75K it started falling apart. Now the Kia master mechanic confirms it needs a complete Rear Differential repair, which is covered under the 100K power train warranty. We took the car in over a week & 1/2 and we were told the corporate office will not approve the work because Jack Key did not notify us that we needed to service the Rear Diff. (?). We bought the Car Care plan and utilized Jack Key for all oil changes and maintenance. We had the 30K mile service where they checked all levels and made sure the car was in compliance with scheduled maintenance. NOW the local regional manager is saying that they will not do anything until we prove that we had all the service done (which is IN THEIR SYSTEM). Im completely dismayed and angry at both Kia and the dealership. We invested in a KIA in good faith. In return they will not (in good faith) honor their own agreement! These people have no conscience or integrity. This is a deceptive practice and we may have to resort to a lawyer to resolve this issue if they dont step up to the plate and do the right thing.

My car has been intermittently cutting off. The last incident was on Monday morning, it would not start - even though all the functions came on. Car had to be towed to the Dealer. Dealer confirmed that the car was NOT starting, and it was reverting to the default setting/test setting or something like that. They were looking into it. Well - they did not give me a loaner vehicle - even after repeated request, and the Customer Complaint service informed me that I need to secure transportation on my own and that he too has to do so for his own CHEVY.. talk about customer service that SUCKS!!Well, it is Day 3 - no calls from KIA to me, I am the one who has been checking on the status of my vehicle daily. The KIA rep supposedly came out yesterday but because they are not able to duplicate the error - they are unable to assist. So the bottom line, from the Complaints service Rep that I just spoke with is - Take the car, since it starts now... but we cannot guarantee it will not do the same thing. Also, Ive found online complaints where the KIA has just cut out while driving. This horrifies me, since I have young children and we have long commutes. I need some help, please.

I have a leased Kia Soul with just over 10K miles. Oil changed and not even darkened. Was driving to pick my son up in WVa. From home, a 6 hour ride. Picked him up, stopped, got a bite to eat and headed back to NC. Drove an additional 2 hours. Engine just stopped. Left my son and I stranded in middle of nowhere in WVa. Car was towed to dealer in Charleston where I have been told I must have struck something in the rode. Busted radiator! I never hit a damn thing not even a pot hole! Had to get a rental to get back to NC. I have no eyes on the damage. Asked for pix and have received none to date. Does the term rip off mean anything? The first service manager stated they saw no damage of anything being struck... Now the second one says yes! This is crap! Now my insurance says they may not pay to have the motor repaired/replaced. So I may have a car that Im paying a monthly rental fee on that doesnt run! What happens when the rental agreement expires?

I have a 2014 KIA Sorento. I purchased this vehicle with the 100,000 mile/10-year warranty extension. My Sorento started having SiriusXM Radio reception problems around July/August of 2015. It would sporadically lose the signal and a NO SIGNAL indication would appear on the radio display. These signal losses occur no matter where I drive my car. I showed King KIA of Gaithersburg some of the many pictures I took of the radio front panel when the failures occurred. King KIA tried to fix the problem several times between December of 2015 and June of 2016 without success. King KIA then requested assistance from regional technical assistance. KIA Motors sent Field Technical Service (FTS) representatives to King KIA to check out my vehicle and the SiriusXM radio issue. The FTS technicians test drove the vehicle for 15 minutes, reproduced the problem, and then stated that this is normal operation from signal being blocked. When I realized King KIA might not have the expertise to fix the problem, I called SiriusXM Customer Service for help and forwarded more radio-failure pictures to them. Sirius Customer Service stated that the problem was probably the antenna or the Sirius Radio itself. After several calls and emails with Sirius Customer Service, they elevated the issue to their Technical Department. The SiriusXM Senior Director of Repeater Operations, Mr. Russell **, called me to discuss the problems that I was having with my SiriusXM radio and to offer his assistance. He said his office is located in DC and is near the route I travel to work at the Washington Navy Yard, in D.C. He stated that none of his employees, most of whom have SiriusXM radios, have experienced this problem, and some of them drive a similar route that I drive from Germantown. The director also sent me an email stating that the SiriusXM technical team had tested the route that I drive from Germantown, Maryland to the Washington Navy Yard and found no reception problems, signal outages or interferences. I contacted KIA Consumer Affairs and forwarded more pictures and asked for the KIA final report. Ms. Britney ** of this office stated that KIA would not send the final report without a request from a Lawyer. At this point I decided that I would obtain legal help, so I retained the Law Offices of Karpel, Link & Caporaletti, of Rockville, Maryland through my legal assistance plan offered by my employer, BAE Systems. With legal help it appeared that KIA Motors was willing to consider the Lemon Law and asked What is your clients demand? My lawyer replied that I wanted them to fix the radio issue or replace the vehicle with one with a working SiriusXM radio. My lawyer asked that KIA Motors provide the KIA final report that they would not provide directly to me. Not long after that KIA Motors stated that the issue was elevated to upper management, who determined that compensation would being denied at this time. They still did not forward the KIA final report. KIA Motors last email to my lawyer stated that they feel this is normal operating based on the area that I live. This email also referenced the very first invoice from King KIA of Gaithersburg (Ro# **) of 12 December 2015. This was the first time the mechanics had looked at my vehicle concerning the SiriusXM radio issue, where they found (incorrectly) that the signal fades only on 2 stations. The final email from KIA Motors also stated my radio performance is normal based on reception from the different radio stations. KIA motors forwarded pages from an Owners Manual that explains the process of AM & FM (not satellite) radio reception. Note that my vehicle does not experience any problems with the AM & FM station, only the satellite stations. It appears that KIA Motors has ignored all of the evidence that my lawyer and I have provided. I feel that KIA Motors has not read the emails or examined the photos I had provided, or they believe the little guy will eventually go away. The following is some of the evidence that we have provided to KIA Motors. 1) The signal does not fade, it is completely lost with a NO SIGNAL or WEAK indication on the radio front panel as we have proven with the many photos. Note that I have over 200 similar pictures saved on my iPhone if needed for proof of times and locations of the signal loses. 2) The signal is not lost on only 2 stations. It is lost on every satellite station I listen to and everywhere I drive as shown in the photos. 3) SiriusXM radio is not operating normally in my vehicle since it does not happen in other vehicles. For example, it doesnt happen in my car pool members two cars, who has provided a written statement. It didnt happen in the 3 or 4 different KIA loaner vehicles I used when my vehicle was in the shop at King KIA. And, it has not been reported as an issue by any of the many employees at the SiriusXM offices in DC with SiriusXM radios in their cars.4) This SiriusXM radio signal loss is not due to the area I live or drive, and is not being blocked or interfered with. This is based on emails I have received from SiriusXM Customer Service, and from the SiriusXM Senior Director of Repeater Operations and was forwarded to KIA Motors via my lawyer. 5) The King KIA service manager, Mr. Bill **, believes there is an issue with my SiriusXM radio reception, but is unwilling to say it is due to either the equipment or the installation in my vehicle, since his service department has tried everything they know of to fix the problem. After the last KIA Motors communication with my lawyer, my lawyer has declined to support my case any longer, and suggested that I file my complaint with the Better Business Bureau and/or Montgomery County Consumer Affairs. My suspicion of this terminated legal service is that the legal service offered through my company doesnt pay the lawyers their normal fees, and they consider my case not worthy of their efforts.

Last Friday it was raining and I was parked in a stall at the grocery store. I was on the phone (which comes through the radio) when I heard a loud POPPING sound and the radio went off and the screen completely black. I took the vehicle to AutoZone first as it was believed to be the fuse. The fuses were fine not blown. I then took the car to Car Pros Kia in Carson on Avalon Blvd. They charged me $118.00 for a diagnosis ($668.00) & then they say that the radio is blown. They would have to send it out for repair which would be $550.00 ($668.00-$118.00) and if they found something in it like coins & or toys/foreign objects then it would be an additional $1,500.00 on top of the $668.00. I asked if it was covered and because my car had 106,000 miles it was not covered! Out of ALL of the cars Ive owned this has got to be the worst. 3 MOS after owning it the stitching in the rear seats and the drivers seat began to come apart and of course this too wasnt covered under the warranty. I purchased this vehicle new (traded in my 2006 Volkswagen Passat, which was the worst decision Ive ever made. They dont care about their customers. I will NEVER purchase another KIA.

2016 Kia Soul. I purchased this car in Oct 2015 with 8 miles on it. I was so happy to have a new dependable car or so I thought. Less than 100 miles in the AC had a terrible stench and there was a noise in the rear suspension, axle when going over bumps. I was told the problem could not be replicated and maybe the car just needed a break in period and me being a woman with a life threatening illness I was like OK. See with Lupus I have to be careful not to get stressed out as that irritates my condition and furthermore I had just had a bout with almost dying from lupus complications and the last thing I wanted was to be upset or frustrated. So due to this I take everything lightly. My biggest mistake!!! 2yrs later those 2 problems are still there and far worse than before and now I have since acquired more issues with my Kia Soul. Mind you there is only 10300 miles on the odometer in roughly 25 months of ownership. So here are the new issues, 3 recalls in 1st yr, rattling in rear around back door, a stalling or dragging in engine when I press the window buttons up or down, absolutely poor gas mileage, car jerks forward when Im at a stoplight or stop sign while my foot is on the brake, grinding noise when braking like there is no brake pad left when clearly there is, very poor quality craftsmanship with the interior, road noise is awful and Bluetooth and hands free calling work intermittently. I am so disappointed in every aspect of my purchase and ownership of this Kia Soul and I wish I had not purchased this piece of junk. Im waiting on Kia to call me back as my case got escalated to whomever, not sure what that means but Ill wait and see if they are willing to stand by their product. As of right now I would not recommend anyone buy anything from Kia. Not even a free muffin or donut. I put $5000 down on this car and now Ill lose all of that plus 2 yrs of payments if I decided to sell. What a mess, everything about this purchase from the start was a red flag. I should have walked away but I needed a car to get me back and forth to my doctors appts as I was literally fighting to stay alive and believe it or not Im still in the fight of my life as doctors can not get my lupus under control and my health is more down than up, but Im hoping that I will not have to fight with Kia to make this right. All I can do now is put my faith and trust in God, let go and allow for him to work for me. My advice to all potential car buyers is steer clear of Kia until they iron out the kinks and stop lying about gas mileage or their supposed JD power awards. This car is just not worth what I paid for it and the problems scare me into thinking this vehicle may let me down during one of my lupus episodes and my life will be at risk due to all the problems. If I could turn back the hands of time, I would drive right past the Kia lot. Dont make the same mistake I did, run in the opposite direction of Kia and keep running, dont slow down. Dont stop and dont look back.

I bought a 2012 Kia Soul. I bought a new car because I live up north where the winters are cold. So I wanted a new car with a good heater. I dont have that in the Kia Soul. The temp gauge in the car drops and I get cool to lukewarm air. I have taken it to my dealership and they had it almost 2 weeks and nothing. They keep telling me it is normal. I have had several cars and none of them had them temp gauge drop and get warm air or cool. I was told that Kia put in a larger radiator than is needed for this size car and they wont do anything about it. If this is as hot as the Kia Soul gets, then Kia should not be selling it up north where the winters are long and cold. As anyone else had this issue.

I own a 2009 Kia Spectra and at 26,800 miles my transmission had to be replaced. At 82,200 miles, the 2nd transmission had to be replaced. This will be the 3rd transmission in 3 years. When I contacted the service manager of Kia of East Syracuse, he told me that headquarters will need to see the receipt for the transmission flush that should have been done at 30,000 miles. I mentioned to the manager that I thought it was at 60,000 miles? He stated that in areas where there are extreme conditions; i.e.; New York, a flush needs to be done every 30,000. I spoke to my mechanic and a number of people who are knowledgeable of automobiles stated that this is preposterous. I reviewed the manual and noticed that a flush wasnt needed until 105,000 miles for an automatic transmission. Secondly, the current transmission technically only has 57,000 miles. Since when do transmissions life expectancy only last less than 60,000? The dealership that I purchased the vehicle at is refusing to cover this under warranty. Headquarters is hemming and hawing about this and I still await their decision. As a result, I continue to be without a vehicle.

Recently our daughter left the overhead and parking lights on overnight, draining the battery. Normally that would not have been a big deal. However, the car was parked in a carport and COULD NOT be moved out of it to get a jump start because the car could NOT be taken out of Park into Neutral!!! It took about a dozen calls to find a service station that had a portable jump system to come out and get the 2014 Kia Sorento started, causing my wife to miss a doctors appointment.

With the advent of keyless entry, there are bound to be lost key FOBS. They are ridiculous in price. Then you have to go to a dealer to have it programmed. They get you coming and going. Same with the built-in GPS. The new maps are expensive. I did not care for the car app that is for your phone either. No issues with the mechanical aspects of the Sorento even though if there was, KIA tech info was bought out by Snap on and you cannot access free repair info any longer.

I originally purchased a Kia Sorento EX in July and after the car being in the shop numerous times without any resolution to the problem, I then traded it in after only a month for another 2013 Kia Sorento EX but with the 3rd row seating and navigation package. My 3-month-old car was in the shop. I originally had a problem with the gas mileage and rpm to which I was told Kia came out with an update to fix that problem, which apparently after having the update applied to my vehicle has made the problem worse! I currently am getting horrible gas mileage for a four-cylinder; if I wanted only 18-22 mpg, I would have purchased a 6-cylinder. On top of that, my heating element went out on the drivers side which they ordered the part, but that apparently was not the problem and at the moment they are not sure what is going on. I then tried to get a rental car through the service offered by the extended platinum coverage that I had purchased at the time of purchase of the vehicle. I was then rudely told that the only way a rental is covered is if the vehicle has a diagnosis code and that the issue would be covered under warranty! Its a brand new vehicle with extended coverage. Why wouldnt it be covered under warranty? What is the point of me spending over a thousand dollars on a warranty that is useless? I am beyond upset with my recent purchase through Kia and Im very disgusted at the way the regional office handles customer complaints or concerns. I initially had a claim pending with Kia. I called several times, each leaving a message, and still have yet to receive even a courtesy call back. The young lady I had originally spoke with when I had an issue with the first vehicle told me, Thats why Kia has a warranty to cover issues with their vehicles! So that tells me that they arent going to make a quality car because they have such an outstanding warranty? Its not even the issue with the warranty; its the stress and gas wasted running back and forth to a dealership. If I wanted an unreliable vehicle, then I would have purchased a used car! At the moment, I have nothing good to say about Kia because you obviously dont stand by your products. Your customer service is very lackluster, and the right to do would have been to may be a little more caring and even offer a gas card for the inconvenience of my traveling 50+ miles back and forth to the dealership. So that day, after spending over two hours in the service department, I was given a rental by the service asst. manager in which I do commend her for doing so, seeing that they had yet to come up with a solution to the problem. I was happy with their covering the rental but not by the fact that it was a basic model Nissan Versa! On another note, Kia is the only dealership that I have dealt with that does not have a shuttle service nor uses their own brand of vehicles as loaner cars which, to me, says a lot. All that I was asking for was that someone takes a little more initiative in solving customer issues and making sure the customer is satisfied, and I am really hoping that my problem is successfully resolved this time around. Its one thing when you are having issues with your vehicle and customer service goes above and beyond. At least when people ask if you like your vehicle, you can tell them, Well, Ive had a couple issues, but Kia corporate was very helpful in resolving, vs. No, I wouldnt suggest that you purchase a Kia! I was just contacted by the service department at Conyers Kia and my car is drivable but the issue hasnt been fixed. They need to order a new part which wont be in until sometime next month. So now, that is more time and gas wasted! Once all the parts came in, I then took my vehicle back into the shop for the fourth time! They then replaced the alternator which was supposedly causing the idling problem, and they also replaced my heating element. Well, two months later, lets just say not only has my gas mileage gotten worse since they replaced the alternator but the idling problem has returned! Also, the update that was supposed to fix the problems was obviously a lie because not only is the problem unfixable, Kia has come out with a reimbursement program for falsely advertising mpg on certain vehicles.

My 2013 KIA Souls clutch blew up at 11,000 miles after purchase. KIAs service department located at Temecula, CA said the warranty does not cover the Clutch because it is a worn item. So I paid the $1,544 for a new one. The replacement clutch grinds in first gear after just 2,000 miles. A friend, who happens to be a top notch auto mechanic, said it has a bad release or throw-out bearing. I can get by with this problem if I use unorthodox methods for shifting in/out of first gear. A mechanic for KIA said the clutches were built to last for 40,000 miles prior to recommended replacement.I contacted the Lawfirm McCuneWright, LLP and they may be interested in a class action lawsuit. They have sued and won huge lawsuits against Hyundia/KIA in the past. I noted there were 1,360 complaints against the clutch, alone (from forums, blogs). Forcing Hyundia/KIA to recall all KIAs/Hyundias from 2010 to 2015 and refunding the clients money would bankrupt them. I have a legal career of approximately 35 years. Hope my experience helps somebody.

I am a little perplexed with your judgement call Kia... I own a 2014 Kia Sorento that’s as apart of your engine recall. The car “passed” the tests ran on it to determine if a new engine was needed, only to have the engine completely cease going 50mph on a major highway in Virginia. I received a call today about an open recall on a fuel pump issue potentially causing fire. While I was aware of this situation due to the national news the issue has received I was not prepared for the supposed resolution to this issue... I was told that I needed to bring the vehicle in for inspection to determine “if they” thought the fuel pump needed to be replaced...So, let me get this straight you want me to yet again trust people that told me my engine was completely fine when it wasn’t to now tell me I don’t need a new fuel pump but potentially catch fire??? Something is seriously wrong with this situation! The fact that you are willing to put peoples safety at jeopardy is disheartening... I have zero trust that if I am told the fuel pump doesn’t need to be replaced that I am safe. You need a better resolution and you need one fast...

I purchased my Kia Soul in 2015 at Kia Of Asheville in February of 2015. I havent had any problems until this morning. I was coming back from vacation & I was an hour away from home. While going up a mountain, all of a sudden my clutch started shifting on its own without me even putting the clutch in (The engine light didnt come on either) then there was a strong burning rubber smell in the car so I pulled over turned off my car & turn the hazard lights on and called my mother-in-law. A few minutes into our conversation my hazard lights died and I could not start the car. I called Kia roadside assistance and they came and picked me up and took me to the Kia dealership where I purchased my vehicle in 2015.I have been driving manual transmissions for more than 20 years, my last vehicle the clutch lasted almost 6 years before needing replaced. I have never had my clutch and battery go out at the same time. Kia of Asheville is saying that its not covered under Warranty but they need to get into the transmission to know for sure which will cost more money! They called me back with a worse scenario cost of $1500 unless its caused by something under the warranty. But Why would I buy a battery from Kia if this one only lasted a little over two years? And what about the clutch!? Theres only 50,000 miles on my car & my clutch should of lasted at least 100,000. I know a clutch is a wearable part but its strange that the battery and clutch went out at the same time because theyre two separate entities.I think theres something else going on and Im afraid Kia is going to say the Warranty is not going to cover this. Has anyone else had this problem? Im reading all the horror stories about Kia and its got me convinced that I wont buy another Kia. I found out Kia & Honda have a lawsuit against them for the type of wiring they use. Did I make a mistake in buying my car?

My husband and I used a premium Oil Filter (Not Kia), and a few weeks later had a knocking in the engine. I took the car to a shop up the street and was told that since we used an oil filter that was not Kia, the filter caused metal in the engine which now needs to be replaced. I called Kia Consumer affairs and explained the issue. With all the information that was sent to me in 6 years, not one piece stated that you are required to use a Kia Oil Filter. The shop that I originally took the car to had to do some research and stated that there are bulletins out that are only around 2 years old. While speaking with Consumer Affairs, I was told that the car needed to go to a Kia Dealer to be diagnosed. I then had the car towed to a local dealer which stated the same thing. Now, the kicker, they will not help in fixing the engine because I am over the 100,000-mile mark. On top of that, I am now charged a tow bill and more diagnostic fees on top of what I already paid in which they will not pay for either (since they required the car to be at a dealer for assistance). I call and call and call the Consumer Affairs lady that I have been working with, and she will not return my call until I call the 800 number and tell them I need to speak to someone or I will be going to the local media as well as any social media avenue I can. The dealer that I purchased the car from will also not honor the Engine for Life that I signed unless I can provide all receipts from the last 5 years on any maintenance that I did on the car outside of a dealer (air filter, etc). I have recently been married and the account closed. AND - who keeps their receipts for 5 years on Air Filters?? This is not only poor customer service for a loyal consumer, but the lack of follow through with what you agreed to and signed upon purchase not being honored. Other Kia owners that I have spoken with are also not Aware outside of 1 to only use Kia Oil Filters.

I have never received such poor treatment from a company as I have from Kia Canada. I need warranty work done on my car and I live more than 1000km away from the nearest dealership. They will tow my car there (roadside assistance), but Im responsible to pay hundreds of dollars for a flight, cab for 40 mins from the airport to pick up my vehicle, pay for a hotel, then travel over 1000km where I not only pay for gas, but a ferry as well. I would never recommend Kia to anyone, they will not give authorization to any licensed mechanic to do any work. I will NEVER purchase another Kia.

I purchased a brand new 2017 Kia Soul+ in Jul 2017, and to date (May 2018) have only put 5500 mi on the vehicle. It has been used mostly for in town driving and is garaged. I have hundreds of small rust spots on the exterior finish, which is accentuated by the finish paint being white (see attached photo). Kia reps tell me it is micro metal filaments from my brakes embedding in the clear coat, and this is something not unusual.Well, I’d challenge this position as I’ve owned previous white cars among the dozen+ vehicles I’ve owned over the years, looked at dozens of comparable new cars on the road, and spoken with several others including auto/body specialists and the response has been 100% that this is not an expected new car reaction unless there was some manufacturing defect- either in the paint or clearcoat prep or application. If anyone else is experiencing this condition with their new Kia, please comment to let me know.

I brought a 2012 KIA Sedona 10/2011 and it keeps breaking down - On 5/23/2012, I was riding in traffic and felt a great big jerk, check engine light came on and the speedometer went all the way down. I had to swerve off the the road very quickly because it almost caused an accident. I tried to proceed after swerving onto the side of the road and the van would not go over 10mph. Someone could have been seriously hurt. This is a safety issue. I called Felton Holly Kia and spoke with the automotive manager Dawn. She stated it sounded like the throttle. I then called Kia Roadside Assistance and Dawn called Enterprise for a rental for me. On 5/24/12, Dawn called me to state that they replaced the throttle actuator. I picked my van up after work and left the rental car at the Kia dealership. I also asked Dawn, if this was a recall, then why didnt I receive a letter from the manufacturer? She stated she didnt tell me it was a recall. Actually, I understood her to say recall. She then stated it was a service call for the battery terminal and they replaced the throttle actuator. I then just left the dealership still upset and dissatisfied, but the van ran okay at that moment. On 6/3/12, my van did the same thing it did on 5/23/12, which consisted of riding in traffic, feeling the big jerk and the speedometer went down quickly. I could not get it to get the speed back up. It would not go over 30mph at this point. Kia roadside assistance was called once again on 6/4/12 to tow my van to Felton Holly KIA. I spoke with a gentleman on 6/4/12 (8:10AM) by the name of Peter and told him the problem I was experiencing with my van and that I would need a ride from work. He stated okay, they would take a look at my van to see what was going on. I never heard from anyone at Felton Holly KIA so I decided to call at 1:24PM (6/4/12) and I spoke with Dawn, who stated they still were not aware what was wrong and the maintenance personnel had gone to lunch, but would return in 15 minutes. I waited and then 2:38-2:40PM, Dawn called to state that they were replacing the pedal on my van. She stated this was all related to the same issue. I asked, how could that be if you replaced the throttle actuator? She stated she never stated the throttle actuator was replaced, but that they put the new computer information in my van, which was never put in. I stated, you never said that and she said she did. I just started jotting down what was being said by her. Dawn asked, was I aware how PCs worked when they install the new information? I stated no, so she called herself explaining it. She stated that my 2012 van did not have the new computer information, but it had the old information so they input this information in on the 5/23/12 incident. I feel like the information is being given and turned around once I repeat to them what they previously have told me. This is very frustrating. It seems like they are guessing about what is wrong and the real issue is not being resolved. I need help on how to handle this situation so I can utilize my options.

The car was sitting in my daughters driveway. When she went out to leave her house she got in and prior to starting the car she heard a large bang and then the left front tire went flat within seconds. AMA were called to attend and replace the tire with the spare. The AMA towing operator was unable to remove the tire as the exploded spring portion was embedded in the sidewall of the tire. The car was towed to Big O Tires in Westbank BC where they removed the tire and discovered the coil spring sticking through the tire. Thank God for BIG O as Kia would not do a thing. The car is 2010 and was out of warranty and although the part failed in a very premature period the KIA people were impossible to deal with. They said I could send the car to them and they would replace the springs at a cost of approx $860.00. There is no way I could even consider sending the car to them as they were not even concerned about the potential for injury or death relating to an in motion failure of this nature. There is no way that this is the first failure of this kind for them and for me to allow them to replace the springs with a product that displayed this type of failure was not going to happen. Bottom line DONT BUY A KIA. They are rude and dont care enough to address serious problems that could have cost my daughter her life. There will never be another KIA in our household and hope others will follow. My daughter had just moved to Kelowna to attend school and thankfully the spring did not fail while going through the mountains.

We purchased a new 2012 Kia Sorento. The first dealer never rotated the tires, and refused to help with a defective Spring. I had the pictures of a snapped spring on the front right. Had to replace all the struts and tires. Switched dealers. At 60,000 miles, the car started to have major electrical problems. Second dealer was worse than the first, changed battery and radio unit. Kept coming up with thousands in expenses. Finally, I told them to replace the starter and the car worked again. I cannot wait to get rid of the car ASAP. We bought our Kia Rio 4 years ago and is now on its 20k km. We have never had a major problem with the car. Its got enough power and speed when driving along an incline. Every 6 months, we see to it that we visit the service center and have it checked. When you look at it from the outside, it seems that its small and not spacious at all but when you are inside, the knee clearance is about 3/4 foot and could accommodate 4 people at the back sitting comfortably. On the other hand, I noticed that there are times when you press the gas, the car doesnt respond instantaneously (there is a split-second lag) or does not respond at all. So what I normally do is I press the break until the rpm gauge drops then I start from first gear and work my way up the next gear. Last night while cruising, there was a moment that I couldnt go to the next gear so I had to put the car on neutral, then drive mode, then it responded as it should. I hope that this is just normal to automatic transmission cars and doesnt become worse if ever this really is a problem. Ive seen on the road a new Kia Grand Carnival and it looks awesome. Im wondering how much it costs.

I have a 2014 Kia Sorento. The first year and a half the car ran great without any problems. I’ve always done my service checks, synthetic oil like is recommended, etc. I’m beyond frustrated that every single one of these have gone bad and somehow, every single time Kia has said it’s not covered under their warranty. The car is only 6 years old and less that 100k miles even at this point! This radio has been reported thousands of times on these vehicles and is still not included in any recalls. It will be over $700 to fix. I’ve already spent thousands replacing things that would’ve been covered under other car manufacturers. Nobody would even consider buying this vehicle if they knew the issues beforehand. Please be wary!

My wife and I purchased a Kia Sorento from Union City Kia in Georgia. We purchased the vehicle on 8/31/11. We were informed by our salesman at that time that it was the last day of a promotion the dealership was running where you received 2 Atlanta Falcons seasons tickets if you bought a car, but the offer ended at the end of that day. As a matter of fact, the car we test drove that day was black and had all of the Falcons promotional stickers all over it. About 10 days went by and had no tickets so I called my salesman. He told me he was going to check into it and call me back. I did not receive a call so I called back on Friday again and left a message, still no call back. I called on Saturday and he checked with his manager and he told me they should be there that day and to check after the mail delivery and let him know if they are not there. The tickets were not there so I called back as instructed and was told by the receptionist the salesman was not there and had left for the day, and there was no manager to speak to. However, the tickets would take about 30 to 45 days to arrive from the sale date. None of this was mentioned at the time of the sale. I emailed the Kia customer service and was contacted by them with absolutely no help and was told the promotion actually ended on the 28th, not the 31st, and to go back to the dealer and see if they would step up to what they promised as they are independently owned. I called the dealership and again received no return calls so I went to the dealership and talked to a manager on duty. He took my information and told me he was going to find out what was going on and call me back that evening. I again received no call. The next day, I went into the dealership and was routed to their business manager Kennon **. He told me that I was right, the promotion ended on the 31st and that it was a corporate promotion which they did not purchase enough tickets so he was going to find out what he needed to do to get more. He stated I was not the only person that was complaining about this. Kennon told me he would get me some information by the end of the day. He did call me that night and left me a voice message telling me he was playing phone tag with the guy and he would be in the next day to follow up and get back with me. That was on a Wednesday. I did not get a call back on Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Monday so I called the dealership again and was informed he was on vacation for the week and he was the only person that could help me. I emailed him and Kia customer service again with no reply from Kennon which was expected, but I did receive a response from Kia Southern Region office, and once again, they just said go back to the dealer since they are the ones that made the deal. This time she said besides it was on a “while supply lasts promotion” which of course no one ever mentioned that while signing for the car just that we would be getting the tickets. So I again stopped into the dealership on Monday, 10/24/11, and personally talked to Kennon. He now changed his story and said the promotion actually ended on the 28th, but he was going to check in with another manager and ensured me he would call me that evening. I also informed him it was him that confirmed to me in person that the 31st was in fact the cut-off date and all I wanted was what was promised to us. Well, once again, I was lied to. No call on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday. I would think if the promotion ended on the 28th, the salesperson, rest of the staff and management would have known that by the 31st, and the promotional car would have had the decals removed. The fact is they were so desperate to sell the car they intentionally lied to get the sale done. This is immoral and bordering illegal. A contract whether verbal or written is binding.Well, it is now 10/25/11 and we have missed 3 home games and still no tickets. I have gone above and beyond to clear this up, but have had no luck even getting the dealership to answer my many calls and lie to my face every time I speak to them in person. It is evident this dealership has a problem standing behind promises made while getting you to purchase a vehicle. As a consumer, there should be some protection against companies that rip them off and knowing the whole time they are doing it just for a dollar. I just want to work something out and get this cleared up. This dealership is a direct reflection on the Kia automobile, regardless if it is privately owned.I filed a complaint with the Atlanta BBB on 10/28/11. It is now 11/30/11 and the Better Business Bureau just informed me they have tried several times to contact the dealership, but the dealership has not responded to any of their attempts. No surprise there. That is their trademark. Well, as the end of the football season nears and still no word from the Kia dealership to no surprise. This may be an independent dealership. However, they represent Kia when they sell their vehicles. I’m not finished pursuing avenues to get this resolved. All is good and they will make any promise to get the deal closed, and once they have you, they forget all about you and the promises they have made.

2011 Kia Soul, all warranty work completed at local dealership. Key fobs quit working, couldnt lock the hatch with the manual key. 58,000 miles still under warranty. Took to dealer to have key fobs reprogrammed. Was told it was a fuse block that was not covered under warranty at a cost of $50.00. I said go ahead, do the repairs. Called me back, wasnt fuse block. They called Kia for technical support and whatever Kia techs told them burnt up the computer in car. They have had it for 2 weeks. Car still wont start. At least it started with the manual key when I took it in. NEVER BUY A KIA, read these reviews. Have a 2011 Kia wont start for sale. Still owe about 5k on it. Sounds like its going to be a parts car.

2015 Kia Optima. 37k miles or so on it... engine seized after oil change. Dealership is trying to weasel out of warranty because I dont have oil receipts. Magnuson-Moss warranty act of 1975 states the company must prove that the bearing failure was my fault before denying warranty (lack of receipts doesnt prove lack of maintenance). Also no manufacturer can require you to use their maintenance products unless they provide them free of charge. They had a class action suit last year over this very issue. Beware any company offering great warranties... they do whatever they can to get out of honoring them. Never buy Kia.

There was no spare tire with the 2015 Soul Kia I purchased on 8-1-2015... I am very apprehensive driving any vehicle with no spare tire. I did not realize the vehicle did not have a spare tire till after the deal was concluded. I did not think any auto mfg would issue an auto with no spare tire. I have owned 2 other KIAs... well pleased with them. I am pleased with the 2015 SOUL but I cringe riding around with no spare tire!! You are putting an unwarranted burden on owner and/or driver of a vehicle with no spare tire!
