2013 Kia Optima Recall: My car was checked and determined to have the issue with metal shavings in the engine. They have arranged for an immediate loaner - even though they do not know when they will have an engine for me. I asked them what the new warranty will be for this new engine and I cant get a clear answer. Will it be the full 100,000 miles which only seems fair? They said they had heard that it might be and extra 20,000 to 50,000 on top of the original warranty. I would have thought that they would have had that detail worked out by now.

The speedometer on my 2005 Kia Spectra sometimes doesnt read my speed correctly. The first time the incident occurred, it was almost 2 years ago. I only had the car for a day. While at the red light, the speedometer said I was driving 60 mph. When I started moving, it went up to 120 mph. The following day, I took the car back to the dealer, they checked it and explained to me that they couldnt find anything wrong with the speedometer. A week ago, today, I got a speeding ticket for driving 60 mph in a 40 mph zone. After getting the ticket, as soon as I started driving, I noticed the speedometer at 50 mph. I noticed immediately that the speedometer was acting up again. I stopped the car to confirm. After coming to a complete stop, the speedometer was still reading 40 mph and then the hand started slowly moving downwards. The following morning, I took the car in to my nearest Kia dealer where they checked it, said they ran a test and placed it on their computers but couldnt find anything wrong or any error codes so theres nothing they could do. Now I have to go to court, pay a speeding ticket, get points on my license all for something thats not my fault and something I cant fix nor the dealer can fix. So Im going to need Kia to fix this!

2014 KIA CADENZA. I have been a Kia owner for the past 10 yrs. I previously owned the AMANTI that I loved very very much, until the very end when I decided to trade in for a new Cadenza. But I seem to have a internal noise problem with the cadenza. I noticed the clicking noise about 200 mile. I took it to the dealer, however they said could not find a problem. I returned again after 300 miles, still with the problem. The sales manager advised me to wait until after 500 miles to open a case with Kia. I returned the auto after 900 miles, they looked into it. On Nov 13th 2014 they wrote the following on the work order PIT STOP P5282 SIDE CENTER OF SUNROOF, NOISE COMING FROM LOOSE SCREWS HOLDING SUNROOF CURTAIN IN PLACE: 85310R00 3.2 HEADLINER BAR, 81651 - 3R500... FAILED PART, RE-SECURED AND PREFORMED PIT STOP FOR RATTLE. Well after month later the problem return, I wrote an email complaining to dealer that noise appears to have return. On 01/06/15 I took the car back to the dealership for the same noise. The dealership found no problem and wrote the following: TEST DROVE CAR WITH TECHNICIAN FOR 7 MILES OVER VARIOUS ROAD SURFACES AND OVER BUMPS COULD NOT DUPLICATE PROBLEM, NO PROBLEM FOUND. Problem still exist. The dealership indicated that they drove the car for over 7 miles and found no problem, however I had noted the mileage on the car and found that the car had only been driven under a mile. I filed a complaint sales manager at the dealership, which the service manager admitted that they did not drive the car only around the block. I preceded to file a compliant with Kia customer service and meet with the District Manger. It took about 2 weeks to confirm the meeting at the dealership. I finally met with DM who drove with me and agree there was a problem. It took over 2 more weeks to schedule a repair date. On 3/25/15, Once again I returned the car to the dealership and they found a problem. Stating the following: C/S noise coming from roof of vehicle near the roof. Please check and advise. Effective part # 81630R500. Found edge of sunroof plate bolts were over torqued causing rail to sit improperly in track adjusted to Kia specs and road tested with technician and Kia DSPN, adjusted sunroof plates, no noise present at this time.Once again the noise has come back and even worst, metal bouncing inside of sunroof. I stop by the dealership on 4/14 and talked to the service manger, which rode with me and agreed there was a noise. He preceded to advise me that he would contact the DM of Kia and call me when arrangement made. On 4/16/15 the service manager called stating still waiting on DM call back. On April 22, he contacted me stating which day early next week was good. On April 24th contact SM and advised him that on April 28th at 10 am would be fine to meet with the SM and DM. To my surprise, the DM was not present. I advised the SM to contact me when the DM would show up so that I was involved in the loop. However, that did not occur. On 4/29 the service manger advised me by phone that no problem was found. I have requested once again to meet with the DM and take the service manager and District Kia manager on a ride, so they understand the noise factor. I have requested to meet the DM through the Kia customer service and Service manger at the dealer, once again review the problem and take test drive with me present. Still waiting for a response as of 5/1/15. I am extremely unhappy with the noise of this cadenza, most passenger hear the noise. Now the dealer is sending messages that I need to return the loaner car, because KIA is not going to pay for the use of the loaner. So now they are threatening me with billing my credit car for a dealer loaner. I have not heard from KIa regarding this matter as of yet. Frankly I am beginning to dislike the fact that I purchased this cadenza, though I was extremely happy with my KIA AMANTI. CASE # **. One of the solutions has been to have the sunroof completely changed according to other kia cadenza owners who have experienced the same situation.

We purchased this vehicle in April of 2017 and have regretted our purchase because of the numerous issues. We have wasted many hours trying to get warranty repairs on faulty brakes and electrical system problems and are still trying. Not only does this hybrid have very poor gas mileage and many strange glitches, it is also very difficult to get any service done as each of the dealerships only staff 1 hybrid technician. We have been to 3 different dealerships and in communication with the corporate office about a recurring abs system malfunction that they cannot figure out how to fix. It is extremely unsettling to have a check brakes alert pop up 2-3 times a month on a car that is still under warranty and extremely frustrating to be unable to get this company to stand behind their product and fix a potentially life-threatening problem. Protect your family by not buying a KIA!

Less than impressed with this company and severely aggravated and disgusted. The Kia experience in general has really gone downhill in the past 10 years, but after my last purchase, it will be my last and I wish I could go back in time. From sales to service to Kias consumer affairs, everyone dropped the ball and rate a huge FAIL.Kia Consumer Affairs used to be a last line of sanity and a place to go where you could get help; now theyre just people who act like they are doing something, but ultimately just ignore you and never follow up or follow through. As others have said, watch the numbers closely in Finance because they will try to add things without asking. My last experience turned me so sour Ill probably get rid of this brand new 2021 car that is riddled with computer bugs and subpar paint before its even six months old. The car will start falling apart after the first year anyway. Terrible company with a terrible internal culture in how they deal with customers and they are turning out cheap vehicles.

The dealership is great. The staff is great. But the car is a piece of junk. The air-condition is stuck and is blowing hot air. KIA told me that it would cost over $400 dollars to repair. I took it to another dealer and they said that it was the air-condition trip switch under the gas. Now, it is stuck and hot air blows constantly. I cant believe KIA South would rip me off like that. I trusted them. I am hurt and upset.

Well I bought a 2014 Sorento and it has died on me 3 times. The 1st time the memory board went the 2nd day I had it. They fixed it. 2nd time the battery went. They replaced it. Well today 4/17 I went to start my car and is dead again, unknown why. We called to have Kia to come tow and speak to a sales manager cause the service department was closed as per secretary. She advised speak to a sales manager, left message, didnt get a call back. Called again and was told only one manager and we would have to wait until 4/18 to speak with someone. In the meantime I dont have a car and I have a disabled five year old with health problems and spends a lot of time in the hospital. What am I to do if something happens? Call a cab, better yet. Every month I go to Boston Massachusetts to Boston Childrens hospital. What if this happened going there and I was stuck. This would be a huge health risk. I want a new car. This is ridiculous!!

Im being forced into getting a car loan. First off I was okay with the deal and signed the contract you know traditional deal I drove home. I got a letter in the mail stating I had to return it at their expense. I was all up for it since I felt they lied on the terms of the contract to me verbally. So they instead told me to come in to sign a 2nd contract, I refused to and they pushed to get the first contract financed. This was after I left the car there and had told them I did not want this deal and their business anymore. I went back and forth between the dealership Rally Kia in Palmdale, Kia consumer affairs, and Kia financial trying to get this straightened out but they were persistent on making me take all the blame.

I received my 2011 Sorento today, after it being at the dealership for nearly three months. It underwent catastrophic engine failure due to a faulty camshaft causing the engine to seize. We are the second owner and the car was 2000 miles over the used car warranty of 60000 miles - the issues we had were exactly the same as what was noted in a class action suit for earlier models. The dealership was fair, providing us with a loaner car after a month of the car being there (we only have one vehicle). Corporate however was astonishing in its lack of professionalism and dishonesty. Corporate insisted that we have a diagnostic done and that I would not be responsible for it if it showed that we were not at fault, we were not and they did not cover it. They told us and a dealership employee that they would cover half of the engine and labor. They did not and then denied the statement and refused to pull phone tapes that would prove it. I also left over 40 messages for the manager without a single call back. Even the dealership employee said they were notorious for this kind of behavior. Im disappointed and frustrated and urge anyone dealing with corporate to tape their calls as well. Thank you.

I have had my car in the dealership on several occasion. I have a 2014 Kia Cadenza. A very elegant car but it is misfiring and it vibrates like crazy on a cold start and a hot start. The service advisor is always nice and polite. But the service on my vehicle is horrible. Kia knows my vehicle is misfiring and vibrating like crazy its to the point where it Im moving in the car too it vibrates so bad. I work for a Kia dealership and if Kia tech will do me like this they would do anyone like this. I would not recommend anyone to purchase a Kia Cadenza. They are garbage. They look good on the outside but rotten on the outside. And I know they are trying to wait until my warranty go out so I would have to face this problem myself.

To start my fiance was driving her car and the motor seized on her on a major highway. Called the dealership. They told her the towing company they used was busy so she would have to sit on the side of the road in the summer in Mississippi for 3 hours. I got her car towed to our house from a friend of mine. We finally get Kia to tow the car to the dealership, come to find out there was a recall on the motors for this reason. Never once did we get anything in the mail for it. We got it there Friday morning, here it is Monday afternoon and all they know is what I told them and that is that it needs a new motor. They told us it would be 3 days for the kia tech line to approve the motor. So we are gonna be without a car for 3 days if not longer. I called kia customer service they said the same. After asking for a supervisor they told me that it would take 24 to 48 hours for the supervisor to contact me back. Overall this will be the last kia I ever own. Just a bunch of crooks who messed up and now dont want to pay for it.

Our 2013 Kia Sorento w/ 46,963 miles had engine failure at 55 mph. Towed to a local mechanic who diagnosed oil pump failure. Had it towed to Austin dealership and researched Kia problems and discovered that Kia began a recall on 06/22/2017 on the Theta II GDI engine due to manufacturing errors that left metal shavings which occurred at the Montgomery, AL plant for MY 2012-2014 Kia Sorentos. Kia service manager in Austin says ours is not part of the recall because ours has the Theta II MPI engine. Said we could drop the oil pan to look for shavings ($195) and main & rod bearings to look for damage ($400) but we still wouldnt be eligible for repairs. $6800 to replace w/ another Kia engine? I think not. NHTSA has an open investigation on the scope and timeliness of the SC147 recall. There are also many complaints listed for engine failures.

Bad after sales performance - my bad experience with KIA Cerato (Controller
Bad after sales performance - my bad experience with KIA Cerato (Controller had broken down). This is Dr. Hamdy **, Professor of Electronics Engineering, from Cairo, Egypt. I bought a KIA Cerato. I was surprised this week when the car stopped suddenly while I was driving on my way to work. I called the KIA Egypt maintenance services, and they carried the car into the service location (official KIA location). After inspection, they told me that the controller has broken down. Actually, I was surprised because the car is a brand new one and has only about 30,000 kilometers on it. However, I periodically avail myself the traditional service for the car at the KIA official place, and the last one was about two weeks only. Now, it would cost me more than 1,000 USD since this car was delivered from Saudi Arabia to Cairo in Egypt. I was shocked to find out about the price to fix the controller. The car is brand new. I have had many brand new cars before, but I did not face any problem such as this one. I asked them to please try and fix this problem because it leaves a very negative feedback about KIA (and the marketing in Egypt is huge for KIA). The car is located now at the KIA service branch - Elsaba Auto Service (250 Industrial Zone, Zahraa El Maadi, Cairo, Egypt / Tel and Fax: +2 2516 2518, +2 2521 8393 / Date of Service: 30 Jan 2013 - 03 Feb 2013).I got a response from KIA regarding this complaint that I submitted yesterday: “Kindly be informed that the service center will make a discount for the changed part. The warranty covers the sold cars by official agent in Egypt as it announced and known in the market.” This is a fatal fabrication design mistake in your design kit, and I will not excuse KIA designers for this mistake (“hardware designer for solid state parts”), and I will not advise anyone to use it. My advice to KIA customers is to stop using this car.

It has been two months since I turned in my lease. At the time of turning in my lease, I was informed by the dealership that KIA MOTOR FINANCE would assist in creating an installment payment plan. Well, I was misinformed, and KIA MOTOR FINANCE is not willing to help a customer who recently got another lease from Kia. My wifes contract is coming up as well, and I was thinking of leasing another KIA vehicle, but after being just notified that KIA MOTOR FINANCE is not willing to assist with any payment plan and is ready to report it to the credit bureau, I see what type of COMPANY they are running. All they care is ruining someones credit who is willing to pay the debt off. Note, I am still making my monthly payments and have since I turned the car in January of this year. In conclusion, KIA FINANCE is not willing to work with anyone, and all they care is about their necks. Thanks, Kia for helping out a customer and a VET.

I was the owner of a 2018 Kia Sorento. Upon getting close to the end of my lease, I went to the dealership Smithtown Kia on Long Island, NY. Between mileage and remaining payments, part of the deal/contract for exchanging the 2018 Sorento for a new 2020 Kia Optima is that the remaining balance on the Sorento would be paid off by the dealership. The check for the remaining balance (in excess of $2,600.00) was sent by the dealership upon closure of the deal in February 2020. In August of the same year I received a notification from Transunion (one of the major credit bureaus) that a reported missed payment in the amount of the payoff had been reported by Kia Motors Finance. What Kia neglected to do was send the letters claiming I owed them this money to the address listed when I got the 2020 Optima (my current address), not the address I lived in upon the lease of the 2018 Sorento.I was left in the dark about it due to their negligence to send letters to the right address informing me of their negligence to handle a contracted pay off properly. I checked my credit score which at the time of the deal back in February was well over 800. What happened to my credit score was more than just a drop in the bucket. The drop my credit had experienced put me in a terrible position with my mortgage lender during a refinance that was taking place at the same time frame I found out about this remaining balance on a vehicle I no longer owned nor was legally financially responsible for due to the terms of the balance being the responsibility of the dealership to pay off. I called the dealership right away and they claimed they had sent the check. They sent me a tracking number where the check was sent via Fedex. I looked into the tracking number and the check was signed for by Kia Finance that it had been received.I called Kia Finance. After waiting unbelievable amounts of time to speak with someone, they requested that I send them a picture of the front and back of the check that the dealership had sent them for the pay off. So they wanted a picture of a check they already physically received, yes you read that right. I called the dealership and got the run around for 4 days before they found it and sent it to me via email. Mind you, every day that goes by I am building a terrible mountain of late days on my credit regarding this pay off. Once I received the picture of the front and back of the check I called Kia Finance again where they gave me an email to forward the picture of the check. I sent the email twice in the same day. I called the next day and they put me on hold for 45 minutes only to tell me that I had to wait an additional 2 days before they could find and review the email with the picture attached.I waited 2 days and called back. When I got someone on the phone they put me on hold for 2 straight hours before I lost my patience and gave up. I called the next day and they had me on the phone for an hour before they found the email. Once they found the email the lady on the phone said she was sending it over to payment processing which would take another 3 days. Yes, another 3 days. I waited the 3 days and called back. I got a lady on the phone whom I explained the whole situation to. She puts me on hold to review the situation and once again never gets back to me. I waited on hold for almost a half hour before I gave up again. I have the background music for being on hold with Kia etched into the bad memory bank of my brain. I called back right away where the next lady proceeded to tell me that she needed to review the situation and asked if I would hold for 2 to 3 minutes.I lost it at this point and started pointlessly yelling at them because Im a human being thats been completely pushed to the limit. Finally after over 2 weeks of this horrible experience I get a payment processing person on the phone that seemed interested in helping. But in the end, Ive been instructed I need to wait another 3 days before theyll know anything else. Im literally fighting against the credit bureaus clock because of this company due to absolutely no fault of my own.As I wrote this review I have literally been on hold upon the resolution of the last call I explained for over 26 minutes. I have no hope or feeling of resolution to this awful situation these people have put me in. Gross customer negligence and incompetence that has cost me my financial health. Something needs to be done whether Im the only person this has happened to or whether its happened to multiple people. Its unethical, its immoral, its life altering. I dont know what else to do. I will never get a Kia ever again.

Kia does NOT stand behind their 100,000 mile warranty at all. Bought 2006 Sedona new. Within 12k miles, both left and right turn signal lights going out all the time. Head lights burn out every other month. Front rotors and brakes need replaced, 12k and again and again. Bolts came up missing on sider door. Thermostat caused the check engine light to come on. NONE OF these item were covered! AC compressor went out twice, was fixed under warranty. At 60k, the Air bag light came on. Again not under warranty, 1500.00 to fix that. More headlights and turn signals all throughout the ownership of this Van. Rotors and brakes again. Blend door for AC and heat making a clicking sound in the dash. Valve covers leaking. Rattle and clunks in the front end now. Intermediate No start, No Crank, battery is good. All electrical items work with no crank no start. Found out this is a Junction box where all the wiring connect to along with the engine disable and key fob. Now the key fobs have to be reprogrammed at the dealer and they want anywhere from 52 to 80 dollars for that? This has to be one of the worst designed and most UNRELIABLE Brands on the road today.

A few minutes into our conversation my hazard lights died and I could not start the car. I called Kia roadside assistance and they came and picked me up and took me to the Kia dealership where I purchased my vehicle in 2015.I have been driving manual transmissions for more than 20 years, my last vehicle the clutch lasted almost 6 years before needing replaced. I have never had my clutch and battery go out at the same time. Kia of Asheville is saying that its not covered under Warranty but they need to get into the transmission to know for sure which will cost more money! They called me back with a worse scenario cost of $1500 unless its caused by something under the warranty. But Why would I buy a battery from Kia if this one only lasted a little over two years? And what about the clutch!? Theres only 50,000 miles on my car & my clutch should of lasted at least 100,000. I know a clutch is a wearable part but its strange that the battery and clutch went out at the same time because theyre two separate entities.I think theres something else going on and Im afraid Kia is going to say the Warranty is not going to cover this. Has anyone else had this problem? Im reading all the horror stories about Kia and its got me convinced that I wont buy another Kia. I found out Kia & Honda have a lawsuit against them for the type of wiring they use. Did I make a mistake in buying my car?

On 11/25/18 I purchased a vehicle from KIA of Irvine. They totally scammed me on the service and maintenance contracts and also the theft deterrent on the car. They went as far as to fraudulently forged my signatures on the maintenance and service contracts. Those two added up to $4000.00, they also snuck in $1495.00 for the theft. So a total of $5495.00 added to my contract without my knowledge of it. The people that work in finance are nothing less than thieves and liars. None. And for you people that work in sales your hands arent clean either. You might not be directly involved in the fraud and the Payment Packing that is being used in finance, all of you most definitely are aware of whats going on over there in finance. When you guys forged my signature on those two contracts, you then submitted them for payment and then received payment for them. That is fraud!! And I am 100% convinced that the owner of this dealership has got to be aware of the practices being used there to commit fraud to scam their customers out of money. HE KNOWS. Every one in sales and finance are all thiefs and I assure you, that you will get what you have coming.

In September of 2018 my 2012 Sorento started to catch on fire. I did not know what was napping and others were telling me to get out of car. When I finally did it was burning across the bottom. It burnt completely up. Kia paid for a rental for 7 months and then they called me and told me that it was undetermined why the car caught on fire. Now the fire department tells you why. Well anyway they took the rental. Told me its nothing they could do. Credit drops from 670 to 435. Cant get another car if I wanted to and still have to pay the Kia off thats burnt up. Not Fair. People do your research on Kia.

My car, a 2009 Kia Rondo, had the right front wheel bearing go out at 69114 miles. It was replaced. I just had the left front wheel bearing replaced at 75977 miles. I have a problem with this because these should not have been a problem at this low mileage. I feel, as a safety issue, that Kia should repair the back ones also since the bearings were probably installed poorly to begin with. They wont do it.

I bought a slightly used 2011 Kia in 2011. It was in amazing condition and I spent the next 7 years taking immaculate care of it -- never missing an oil change and keeping up with the regular maintenance. Last week, while driving, out of nowhere my car seizes and then starts making a very loud rapping noise. Engine is kaput. I had it towed to my mechanic (my cousin so he doesnt give me any bull -- he even does a diagnostic in front of me and shows me exactly what is wrong with the car and why). He says one of the pistons broke, causing tons of metal flecks in the oil (which I had recently changed). The piston had also hit one of my spark plugs, chipping off a tiny piece of it. He said the issue is the exact same as all of the thousands of Kias being recalled, and that this is a bad engine and its the manufacturer at fault for it, not me. Especially since I had taken such good care of it -- no sludge in the oil, no nothing.Call Kia customer care & open a case -- they say I have to have a Kia dealership diagnose it for them to help me. So I tow it to a dealership and they charge me $120+ just for the diagnostic. I try to give them the diagnostic from my mechanic and tell them about the broken engine and the spark plug and the piston, and they wont listen to me. I go home and wait thru the weekend. They call me Monday morning to say my car doesnt have a broken engine, but that the tiny piece of spark plug is causing the issue and they need another $350 to try to remove it and it may cost up to $1100. I tell them to wait and call my cousin to ask if that sounds right. He said, no, thats outrageous, and he calls them and makes them put the mechanic on the phone. Mechanic is a complete ** -- didnt even run a diagnostic, just looked at the spark and figured that was the problem. Cousin asked if he ran a compression test-- of course he didnt! Then the mechanic tried to say it would take 3 hours for a diagnostic then, and cousin said, how long does a compression test take? Guy says, I dont know, Id have to look it up to which my cousin replied, Its certainly less than 2 hours. You can send me an itemized list of what youre doing.I ended up making my cousin the one the dealership had to go thru. And, GEE WIZ! Turns out when they actually DID THE COMPRESSION TEST, the problem with the car is exactly what my cousin said was wrong! And do you think Kia stands by its 100,000 mile/10 Year Warranty??! Of course not! Because Im the 2nd owner. And does it say on the ads or the website that it doesnt apply to 2nd owners? Not unless you find your manual and look it up -- Intentionally deceptive and misleading. And REGARDLESS, this is THEIR FAULTY ENGINE. Customer care wont do a fricking thing and expects me to pay thousands of dollars for a new engine, even though they KNOW its their responsibility and theyve already had to recall all their other engines (but for some reason not the Rio...) My cousin even called Customer Care and said my engine is affected by the recall, theyre just trying to save face. I have years and years worth of oil change and maintenance receipts as proof that the fault is theirs, and they wont do a freaking thing to correct their mistakes.I have never been so disgusted. The incompetence of the dealership, the arrogance of Customer Care, the mistreatment of their customers, the lemons they wont take responsibility for... I WILL NEVER BUY A KIA AGAIN. Do yourself a favor and save yourself the inevitable headache and HUGE repair bills-- STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM KIA CARS AS YOU POSSIBLY CAN.I now have to junk my car after I had JUST replaced the breaks and done a bunch of other maintenance to it. I hope the company goes bankrupt and burns to the ground. They are the most corrupt lousy liars I have ever come across. Just do a quick freaking search online and you will find hundreds and hundreds of stories just like mine. It is unbelievable that an 8 yr old car with 98,000 miles on it would die with no warning and Kia just shrugs its shoulders. This is unacceptable. If anyone files a class action lawsuit please let me know -- they need to be taken down.

They then fail on their promise every time. Now they are using the holiday (MLK) as an excuse as to why it hasnt been done when weve been waiting since 1/14/13 (which is when the insurance co sent the evaluation to KMF). To understand this KIA dealership in Burton UK, I need to back up a bit. I saw a car on the internet and arranged to view it. On the agreed day I checked to make sure that he car was still available and they said yes. I set off by train from Coventry UK. I had to change at Birmingham UK to catch a train to Burton. At Birmingham I got a call to say that the car has been sold. This sets the background to my subsequent dealings with KIA in Burton. They apologized and promised to let me have first look at another car. (With hindsight, I should have declined.)I did look at another car, the salesman told me that the car had had only one previous owner who gave up the car because he had epilepsy. We negotiated and agreed on a price based on what I had seen of the car and what I was told. He told me that (1) the car will be checked over and serviced (2) I will have two year free service in 2015 and 2016. When I received my V5C form from DVLA, it had two previous owners. I sent a text on 17/11/14 to the salesman and he did not reply to my query that he told me the car had only one previous owner from October 63. He did not reply. One morning as I was driving along the road I found that my windscreen washer had frozen. The temperature was barely -1 deg Celsius. When it thawed, I noticed that instead of the normal windscreen solution, it was pure water. Alarm bells started ringing. I checked the Service book and it was not stamped. I then wondered why the boot light has never come on.I wrote with a list of complaints to the CEO of KIA including that the car had not been serviced. My complaint was passed on to the customer services department saying that the garage was only obliged to top up the windscreen washer (with water by implication) and not to introduce a solution that lowered the freezing temperature of the windscreen washer. I found that astonishing. On the question of previous owners, because I had no documentary or audio evidence to support what I claimed was the gist of the conversation, that was dismissed. Apparently the bulb in the boot and had burnt out from use... by whom I wondered? They asked me to return the service book so that they will stamp it. I refused. I asked whether the two year verbal agreement on servicing the car still holds. No reply. I am intending to send it for servicing and bill the garage and if they refuse to pay, Ill try the small claims court. I paid for the car based on the information given to me which they deny. What should I do? Can I ask for my money back or reach some form of compromise? I also tend to write to KIA in Korea to complain. I suggested to the customer services that the point that the service book was not stamped is evidence that it was not serviced. There was no counter argument. The scan of the service document carried out had no page number so it could have been written any time. What can/shall I do? Anyone have the address of KIA in Korea?

I have just bought a Kia Sorento 2018 this month. What I want the public to learn here is not to repeat the same mistake that I made at the dealership. I was actually happy to buy the Sorento, but when I signed the paperworks, I didn’t pay too much attention to the details. All I had in mind was I was gonna pay the amount that me and the salesman agreed on. I did not catch an additional fee for EXTENDED WARRANTY. This was not even explained to me. I was not aware of it. It costed me $2700, and since this was added to the loan amount. It would basically cost me more. Now when I look at my new Kia Sorento, I feel ashamed of myself for buying Kia. I was just foolish!!! God knows how I could forgive myself.

I brought my 2009 Kia to the dealership for a free upgrade on the covers for the back of the rear seats. And they also completed a free ECM upgrade according to Kias recommendations, without consulting me before doing so because Kia states that they have the right to do any and all upgrades without asking the owner of the vehicle while the vehicle is on their property and being serviced. I wouldnt have stopped them before or after, why should I, any free upgrade for my vehicle is great... but about a week or so later, my transmission started jerking when the automatic transmission downshifted from 2nd gear to 1st gear. I brought it back to the dealer and they said that since there were no warning lights or codes for the problem, they didnt know what to do. So they waited for info from their tech line. Time went by so I made an appointment for them to check my transmission fluid level again. Being it’s a sealed transmission, I am not qualified to check it and according to Kia Corporation, this transmission fluid in the V-8 is Lifetime, no regular changing is needed. The fluid costs around $80 a quart!!!!! Really???I brought my Kia Borrego to the dealer for the appt to check the transmission fluid level and the service manager said that they couldnt check the level until I prepaid for a couple of quarts of fluid due to the high price of it per quart and also that they didnt have any at the dealership and would have to special order it and receive the fluid before they checked the transmission fluid level. Im fuming! So, I politely with a smile showed the service manager their maintenance service checklist that they performed on my vehicle when they did the ECM upgrade. On it, it says that they checked all fluid levels and checked my transmission fluid level and it was signed. The service manager quickly declined saying they couldnt check it and didnt check it. So they were falsifying documents by saying that they did but now they dont. A few days later I made an appointment to talk to the Owner of the dealership. And after a bunch of defying belief of my issue, he supposedly bypassed the service manager and asked the mechanic directly if he checked the fluid and the answer was yes. Hmm, as for the hard jerking of the transmission, the Owner says that that is normal, most Kia vehicles downshift hard. He said that his Kia downshifts hard!! Its getting deeper. So I brought my Kia to a different dealership in a different city and their solution, remove the transmission and a used transmission was installed due to my extended warranty outside of Kia. A few months later, the hard downshifting starts again, mostly when the motor is cold, not from the weather, just after setting for a while. I brought it back to that dealership and they reset it back to its norm and made it worse. Now it’s doing the hard jerking all the time at the 2 to 1 downshift. From the get go, I told both dealerships and warranty people my thoughts and I blamed it on the ECM upgrade. Why would two transmissions give me that same problem?? My original transmission had around 90,000 miles. The used one had 30,000 miles. Ive put over 4,000 miles on the used one. Im waiting on answers from the second dealership on how they plan to correct this problem again. Im tired of all of this. I want my vehicle repaired correctly. I have an extended warranty up to 100,000 miles and a 1 year warranty on the used transmission that is in the Kia Borrego now. Any ideas or help will be greatly appreciated.

Dealership is refusing to honor the lifetime warranty. Again, no lights, no warning, no nothing. 5.5 quarts of oil went somewhere in two months. Or at least thats what was SUPPOSED to be in there. There are several class action lawsuits pending as well regarding this issue & similar things. Dont be fooled.

Why am I liable for something that has not been my fault? I am giving this
Why am I liable for something that has not been my fault? I am giving this a day to be resolved then I will go to my lawyers which is scorpion and I will not give up. I refuse to pay a service. When I pay for the service if I wanted to pay I was not going to take the service plan. I know I have to pay for the brakes. I will not pay the service so let me explain myself for the 100th time. I took my car for the service as agreed with Kia east rand branch. On the 3rd I had a accident with my car. As per attached you can clearly see I picked it up on the 23rd of Dec knowing I never skip my service as you can see and Im never late either. I tried phoning Kia Kempton as thats where I always take my car. Disappointingly no one responds. I then phone your kia kempton sales to find out why is no one getting back to find out oh they closed. Fair enough.I go on your useless website where it clearly states book a service, leave your details, someone will get back to you. And to my surprise guess what? No one did. So sad. This I did in Dec knowing my car needs to go. I desperately try and get hold of someone. No one phones me back. I phone your branch east rand either the 28 or 29 Dec. I get the following words: Sorry we are full but we can help you the 3rd. Knowingly this is not going to work as its due now they assure me its no problem at all. So I believed your people again. Im doing it as per how Im suppose to keep in mind as attached my car went in. So I could not do it as I usually do early and if you bothered phoning your customers back this wont happen. So I get a nice phone call today. I need to pay for a service. Now look the lady there well done but for the rest useless. So Im giving this one day to be resolved so I can take my car at the cost of you all not me as I pay for the service plan and I was not at fault as you can see. So one day and then Im taking this further. I will not leave this. I will pay for my brakes. Not the service. My number to get hold of me; **. I expect a call in the next hour. As to how this will be resolved this car is not second hand its not ten years old and its sure as ** has never missed a service and kia kempton didnt say nothing at all. So blame your staff not me. I pay you still and whats sad its 200000 not a 5000 second hand car. This is disgusting to think I wanted to buy another kia when this is the treatment you get when you not at fault between kia and liquid capital? My car will be serviced at your cost. Decide how so I can take it as Im running the km up by having it again your fault. One hour and Im sending it to my lawyer.

I took my Soul to Kia due to a screeching noise in the front while braking thinking there may be a stone stuck in the pad. Come to find out the rotors had rusted in the front only to the point that they were pitted. I bought the car a few months prior from an independent dealer and the Kia dealer said that the car must have sat for a while but they were not sure. Thus is just conjecture on their part. They said the rotors were not covered because the warranty does not cover rust. They recommended that I call Kia corporate and see if they will make an exception. I called and was treated poorly by Robin, a supervisor, but after an exercise in patience she agreed to escalate the issue to the district service manager. It has been 3 working days and I am still waiting to hear back from them. I had to take it back so they could get pictures of the rotors over the weekend. The funny thing is that rotors on the rear are fine which makes no sense unless poor rotor quality or substandard design with the front brake system. The service department says that the district service manager will likely approve it but it can take another day or two and it will take more time to get the parts in. Meanwhile I am driving a car that the front brakes sound terrible and I feel unsafe driving. Very poor customer service and quality.

Kia Rio has a rip under the passenger seat where the handle is located to move the seat. Kia calls this a beneficial feature. I call this a defect as it was not listed in the features of my car, was hidden from me, has already separated so food, liquids, bugs, whatever, can get underneath the carpet. After only three weeks, it has separated. The truth is they cheap-ed out and didnt cover it with the same protective plate they put on the Sorento and higher end models and refuse to fix it. Instead of putting a plastic plate on the Rio to protect the carpet, which has already separated and frayed, they chose to spend the money for that feature on a Sirius button that I can pay extra for. It is defective and I dont recommend purchasing a Rio. Only three weeks and already a defect! Unacceptable!

We bought a Kia Sorento CX3 on 31.3.15 at a Kia franchise. It was about 4 years old. We were told it had never been in and accident and paid £18000 for it, which was the top end of suggested prices. From the beginning we had problems with the sunroof, which rattled. We took it to a local franchise dealer on a number of occasions to get it fixed. Parts of the sunroof had to be replaced.About 17 months after we bought the car it started smelling of damp. My daughter discovered water in the passenger vanity light. When the car was checked by the local Kia dealer. They discovered the welding in the roof had been grounded. Which implies it has been in some sort of accident. We contacted the original Kia dealer and Kias customer care service. They basically said Its not covered by the warranty. We can do nothing for you, and said we could contact the omnison, which we are now doing. It cost £3400 to be fixed by the local Kia garage. You buy from a franchise dealer, who is an ambassador for Kia, because you think you will have some protection. I dont think the garage knowingly sold us a damaged car but I feel Kia have let us down and questioned our integrity. As an ex nurse/midwife, I have spent my life caring for people and I think the way we have been treated is appalling. Buy your car from a company with more integrity and a customer care service that does care.

He was wrong charging us one more yr I know we could have said no to the car but my husband said go ahead but if he has done it once how many other times has he done it to other customer. The buying process of my 2016 Kia Sorento was great! I bought at Ourisman Kia of Chantilly in VA. I bought a brand new vehicle despite the fact that I absolutely LOVED my paid off 2002 Chevy Tahoe. It was giving me a lot of maintenance issues so I hesitantly said Ill buy new and save on repairs. All was great up until 5 months of having the car. It shut off on me twice out of nowhere. Both at red lights. I took it in for the scheduled oil change and so that this issue could be taken care of as well. The first response was We cant seem to find the issue. Would you like to take it home or leave it. Well of course I chose to leave it. A week went by no word other than they had to wait to get something back from Kia. After a month of being in a rental the matter was resolved. They had to replace the intake manifold (yes on a brand new car). 8 months later the car was acting up again. It would not accelerate and made a terrible noise along with rough idling. I took it in twice both times the dealer could not duplicate the problem so they couldnt do anything and I had to pick up or be charged for the loaner. All oil changes had been up to date via this same service shop. The car failed on me again a third time, I had it towed and after emails and text to the GM and service manager they were able to duplicate the issue. The ECM was then replaced (the car is a little over a yr at this point). I stressed again and again that I did not feel safe in this car. I am a single mother of 4 and work my butt off for a reliable vehicle and this vehicle was not it! I questioned if I had not been sold a lemon and that issue needed to be addressed. However both the GM and SM assured all was well now. I went on a 3 wk road trip right after this last visit at the end of June. Thankfully I made it problem free on my trip. But on my way home from NC on 7/24 the car overheated with no warning indications whatsoever. I was able to pull over to the shoulder before it just cut off on me. It was towed yet again (not even a month later) to the nearest dealer in NC. They have no idea why it overheated. Why so much work has needed to be done to such a new vehicle and informed me that the motor will probably need to be replaced. WHAT!!! I am so sick of this car and the dealer not caring at all that it was faulty from the start. I will be taking this up with an attorney and recommend not to buy KIA. I have been covered by its good warranty yes but that doesnt cover the safety of my kids or I. As far as the mechanics of the vehicle and the customer service when problem arise this purchase was not worth it!!

Got this car in a lease in 2017 from a very bad Kia dealership in Fort Walton Beach Florida. Continuously kept up with oil changes. The rear tail light on the driver side malfunctioned or I had to replace it twice because the seal was not staying sealed. Then I’d PCS to Hawaii 105 thousand miles. And with no notification the car stops running. Take it to the dealership and they said, Oh well I’m sorry. You’re 5000 miles over the warranty. So there’s nothing that I can do. It’s $15,000 for a new motor. Very discouraging From dealership and Kia consumer affairs. Do not buy any Kia vehicles.

We can not get a replacement car. In the meantime it has been 3 weeks and no one is giving a straight answer or saying when it will be fixed. The warranty is rubbish. Never buy a Kia.

Kia defective forward collision avoidance being blown off. I called Kia Consumer Affairs after our local Kia technicians replicated a malfunctioning FCA system, reached out to the Kia Corporate Tech Line to troubleshoot, and the Tech-Line refused to acknowledge any issue. To them, if the Forward Collision Avoidance system was working while in Cruise control mode, it was functioning fine. The system is supposed to apply brakes and give an audible warning when NOT in cruise control. And it had worked - twice. But never again. Although it does apply brakes when in cruise control mode and a car slows down in front of you. In order to replicate the problem, the local techs nearly wrecked my car while doing a white-knuckle test without cruise control. No alarm went off / no brakes came on. The system was not functioning as advertised to prevent sudden collisions when driving in regular (non-cruise control) mode.I called Kia Consumer affairs and they opened a case number for me. They reached out to the dealership to confirm the problem their techs found. They said they would have a field-tech come and examine my car. BUT Field tech called the tech-line, who said there isnt a problem, and field-tech refused to come examine my car. Kia Consumer Affairs blew off the problem and said they cant go over the head of the Tech Line. Really? VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE since everything is circular and the Tech-Line is God. Its supposed to work on paper, so the Tech-line believes there couldnt possibly be an actual problem with their product. So much so, they REFUSE to have one of their corporate techs look at it in person to verify the problem themselves! So, this is a safety Hazard. I spent $$$ on a high end technology warranty package. The vehicle is just 1 year old, and the reason I purchased all the safety features is null and void. And there is nothing I can do about it. Kia Consumer Affairs Department has no power to request something to be looked into that the Tech-Line doesnt want to acknowledge. This is not right. Even the Kia Dealership cant believe this is happening. But they, like me, have no power. DO NOT BUY A KIA VEHICLE. They have a serious issue with this safety feature and refuse to look into it.

My wife and I purchased a Kia Sorento from Union City Kia in Georgia. We purchased the vehicle on 8/31/11. We were informed by our salesman at that time that it was the last day of a promotion the dealership was running where you received 2 Atlanta Falcons seasons tickets if you bought a car, but the offer ended at the end of that day. As a matter of fact, the car we test drove that day was black and had all of the Falcons promotional stickers all over it. About 10 days went by and had no tickets so I called my salesman. He told me he was going to check into it and call me back. I did not receive a call so I called back on Friday again and left a message, still no call back. I called on Saturday and he checked with his manager and he told me they should be there that day and to check after the mail delivery and let him know if they are not there. The tickets were not there so I called back as instructed and was told by the receptionist the salesman was not there and had left for the day, and there was no manager to speak to. However, the tickets would take about 30 to 45 days to arrive from the sale date. None of this was mentioned at the time of the sale. I emailed the Kia customer service and was contacted by them with absolutely no help and was told the promotion actually ended on the 28th, not the 31st, and to go back to the dealer and see if they would step up to what they promised as they are independently owned. I called the dealership and again received no return calls so I went to the dealership and talked to a manager on duty. He took my information and told me he was going to find out what was going on and call me back that evening. I again received no call. The next day, I went into the dealership and was routed to their business manager Kennon **. He told me that I was right, the promotion ended on the 31st and that it was a corporate promotion which they did not purchase enough tickets so he was going to find out what he needed to do to get more. He stated I was not the only person that was complaining about this. Kennon told me he would get me some information by the end of the day. He did call me that night and left me a voice message telling me he was playing phone tag with the guy and he would be in the next day to follow up and get back with me. That was on a Wednesday. I did not get a call back on Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Monday so I called the dealership again and was informed he was on vacation for the week and he was the only person that could help me. I emailed him and Kia customer service again with no reply from Kennon which was expected, but I did receive a response from Kia Southern Region office, and once again, they just said go back to the dealer since they are the ones that made the deal. This time she said besides it was on a “while supply lasts promotion” which of course no one ever mentioned that while signing for the car just that we would be getting the tickets. So I again stopped into the dealership on Monday, 10/24/11, and personally talked to Kennon. He now changed his story and said the promotion actually ended on the 28th, but he was going to check in with another manager and ensured me he would call me that evening. I also informed him it was him that confirmed to me in person that the 31st was in fact the cut-off date and all I wanted was what was promised to us. Well, once again, I was lied to. No call on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday. I would think if the promotion ended on the 28th, the salesperson, rest of the staff and management would have known that by the 31st, and the promotional car would have had the decals removed. The fact is they were so desperate to sell the car they intentionally lied to get the sale done. This is immoral and bordering illegal. A contract whether verbal or written is binding.Well, it is now 10/25/11 and we have missed 3 home games and still no tickets. I have gone above and beyond to clear this up, but have had no luck even getting the dealership to answer my many calls and lie to my face every time I speak to them in person. It is evident this dealership has a problem standing behind promises made while getting you to purchase a vehicle. As a consumer, there should be some protection against companies that rip them off and knowing the whole time they are doing it just for a dollar. I just want to work something out and get this cleared up. This dealership is a direct reflection on the Kia automobile, regardless if it is privately owned.I filed a complaint with the Atlanta BBB on 10/28/11. It is now 11/30/11 and the Better Business Bureau just informed me they have tried several times to contact the dealership, but the dealership has not responded to any of their attempts. No surprise there. That is their trademark. Well, as the end of the football season nears and still no word from the Kia dealership to no surprise. This may be an independent dealership. However, they represent Kia when they sell their vehicles. I’m not finished pursuing avenues to get this resolved. All is good and they will make any promise to get the deal closed, and once they have you, they forget all about you and the promises they have made.

I bought a 2015 KIA Soul in Aug 2015, a 2015 model. I bought the car based on price and gas mileage. They touted the excellent warranty and reliability of the car. Well, six months later the car stopped running at a stop sign this past Sunday. Its a manual transmission and would not engage the transmission. Had it towed to KIA and was informed today the clutch was burnt out and the warranty on this is 12K miles and the car has 12,900K so guess what. Yep, $1500.00 dollars later I can get my car back. I have driven manual transmissions my entire life and never had any sort of clutch failure. Buyer beware. Please read and advise all your friends to stay as far away from KIA as possible. Supposedly the case was sent to KIA headquarters who denied the claim. Shame on that person and believe me I will spread the word far and wide. DO NOT BUY A KIA.

Tried to turn the radio volume down, that didnt work, tried to turn the radio off, that didnt work, tried to change to a different station, that didnt work. This was on a Saturday evening around 5pm. Turned the engine off and back on the radio, still would not turn off or allow me to change the volume or station. Drove by the dealership (of course service department was closed) and showed the salesmen what was going on. They had no clue as to why this was occurring or how to fix it. Suggested I bring the car back in on Monday to have it looked at. Also the following day, the cruise control would not work. Not sure if this is a fuse issue or what.

I own a 2008 KIA Rondo, the bearing in the crank went. I am 15,000 over the warranty limit, and 8 months past warranty. Bought it brand new. KIA Canada says simply too bad your warranty is up. They also said that it was an engine fail but does not consider this to be a safety issue so will not do a courtesy warranty to help me either. Which KIA says they have done in the past, I say **. I have driven KIAs for 10 years, exchanged last one before 5-year warranty, but was assured that engine would have failed as well. Taking peoples money on a product you dont stand behind is unfair. Now you offer 10-yr warranty. That tells me you may have known your engines were crap and now they may have improved. What about taking care of your old customers who bought your garbage first. I still owe money on a car that is useless. There are many of other people out there like me and I will find them and get the word out.

DO NOT PURCHASE A KIA - Kia Motors America IS AWFUL! I bought a car from Peak Kia in Colorado Springs, CO in July 2018 right after my husband returned from his deployment. It has since been in the shop since Jan 14, 2019. They have never fixed the initial issue of it not starting properly and have found various other items wrong with the car. I contacted Kia Corporate about a buyback (not lemon law) in February 2019 and they said they would process it and to send the paperwork. I did this in March 2019. Kia Corporate has escalated my case to upper management and the representative has called me two times since the case was assigned to him. He will not return phone calls or emails. The communication is not there and nothing is being done.Peak Kia has stated many times they do not know what is wrong with it; corporate refuses to do anything. I have been driving a small car since January when my vehicle is an SUV. We are still paying monthly payments on a car we havent driven since January. I have all items documented but both Peak Kia and Kia Corporate do not appear to care. I am sick of this and something needs to be done. Being called two times in 5 months by my case manager from corporate is absolutely ridiculous. If the vehicle cannot be fixed in 5 months, it clearly cant be fixed. It needs to be bought back or they need to take it back for what I paid and supply me with a new vehicle, as well as all monthly payments, insurance and inconvenience fees. Kia Motors America is the worst company- buyers beware!

My 2013 KIA Souls clutch blew up at 11,000 miles after purchase. KIAs service department located at Temecula, CA said the warranty does not cover the Clutch because it is a worn item. So I paid the $1,544 for a new one. The replacement clutch grinds in first gear after just 2,000 miles. A friend, who happens to be a top notch auto mechanic, said it has a bad release or throw-out bearing. I can get by with this problem if I use unorthodox methods for shifting in/out of first gear. A mechanic for KIA said the clutches were built to last for 40,000 miles prior to recommended replacement.I contacted the Lawfirm McCuneWright, LLP and they may be interested in a class action lawsuit. They have sued and won huge lawsuits against Hyundia/KIA in the past. I noted there were 1,360 complaints against the clutch, alone (from forums, blogs). Forcing Hyundia/KIA to recall all KIAs/Hyundias from 2010 to 2015 and refunding the clients money would bankrupt them. I have a legal career of approximately 35 years. Hope my experience helps somebody.

My car has 52k miles and for some reason, the engine light came on one morning. I was driving to work and I was only a few blocks away from home so I return and asked my roommate if I can use his car to go to work while I take my KIA to the KIA service department. When I picked up my car, they told me the cars computer just needed an upgrade. I thought it was weird but I was happy it wasnt something worse. I automatically noticed a huge, I mean huge, drop in mpg. I bought the car because it was supposed to be good on mileage, otherwise I would have bought a Prius which was my other choice. I took it back the next day and they checked it and they said that they found nothing wrong. I was really upset. They gave me a pamphlet that I should read to show me how to get better gas mileage; I was really pissed. I know how to get the best gas mileage out of my car and I do regular oil changes using synthetic - nothing but the best and regular air filter changes everything. I went from getting between 33-37 mpg to 25-28. I am a very upset KIA own. I dont know what else to do.

Kia brand vehicle has to many mechanical issues, especially if the car is used. Those made before 2017 all have the same issues, and are NOT recommended as a good car in Consumer Report magazine. The 2 wheel drive models are too loose on the road and difficult to control. I actually had to change the way I drove since I always had a 4 wheel drive previously to my Kia purchase. The car is light despite its size and in a strong wind will move across the road so you have to fight to keep control or weigh down the back of the vehicle with sand or Kitty Liter in the back trunk.

Kia Optima Hybrid Started on Its Own due to faulty push start. - Kia has an uncanny way of stating the same corporate line that the vehicle operates as designed when you tell them there is something wrong with the car. All one has to do is You Tube a woman who had a child in her Kia truck that took control of her and raced the car on a highway at speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour. This happened for over 30 miles and they settled with her only because it was on the police cam.In my case, my Kia literally started on its own and rolled down a hill into the woods. When I called Kia to tell them what had happened, they said the same line to me as they did to that woman with the truck. When I told Kia that the same situation was shown on You Tube where a lady had a Hybrid that she recorded to start on its own. Yet Kia is holding firm that the car does not want do that. The bottom line is Kia is a terrible car company. Of all of these complaints on here, we need real satisfaction. I think we should post everyday that Kia should not be the car company you want to deal with. I would like to hear from many of you. Perhaps in numbers, they will listen to us. Where to begin. I scheduled an appointment at my local Kia dealership to have a recall fixed that I had received a letter about. The night I went to drop my car off it started making a knocking sound in the front end. I spoke with the mechanic who told me they would not be performing the recall because they believe it was part of an engine recall. Fast forward 9 WEEKS, yes I said 9. They tell me Kia denied the recall due to previous recalls not being performed. I call customer affairs and they state that I never had a recall done in 2018 that should of been done before the engine failing...First off I never received a letter stating a recall needed to be done in 2018 and the person who helped me even stated they had the wrong address on file. The only recall notice that said it needed to be completed was the one I took it in for. The fact that have terrible engines that is clearly known and there is a law suit over just tells you how terrible this company is. I have been without a car for 9 WEEKS! I work full time and have 3 children, no one could provide me with a loaner vehicle and now they are denying the recalled engine because of a notice I never received. I am completely disgusted with this whole situation. Kia Cooperation is shady and I will NEVER own another Kia.

I had a 2009 Kia Rio. The engine blew in 3 years. Lets start at the beginning. Air conditioner went out and blew smoke instead. Back break disks lost a pin (explained no way anyone but a mechanic could do it.) Without it could have locked which could have killed me on freeway. Had an oil change at Kia and they never put the air filter back in. I drove over 32 hrs without it.Now the worst!! Engine!! Car broke down. Had it towed to Kia. They told me I needed a new engine. It was going to cost me 4,000. It wasnt even close to what it was worth. I called around and finally found a place that had a used one. That had the same miles etc. Only 2,000. I had them install it. Then I had a light bulb. It was still under warranty. Wtf why didnt the dealership tell me that?? So I made them tow it back to their dealership, give me a rental and fix it. Well that was not even close to the end! They took over 2 months to even fix it. Over 1 month to pay me back. Last of it the car still had major issues!! I went to drive it and the odometer wouldnt work, pretty much it was trash! I went to turn it in as a trade and they pretty much made me pay them to take it! I will NEVER NEVER GO TO KIA AGAIN!!! Neither will anyone in my family!!!

I bought a new 60,000 dollar vehicle Kia Sorrento, I have had to boost it first thing in morning, I have had to boost it when out shopping in parking lot. I went into Kia and they said they would charge me 140 if they could find nothing wrong. I should not be charged anything as there is definitely something wrong. Sorrento is loaded and they said if youre using a lot of things in car it takes 18 to 20 minutes to charge battery back up. I boosted it yesterday in parking lot of bed, bath and beyond drove around 20 min, came home parked it, just went out to start it dead again. I think either battery is not big enough to have enough reserve power or parasitic drain or it’s not fully charging (not my fault).Yesterday the light over the button for locking door went out. As I said vehicle is new under 12000 kilometres. I think it is terrible youre dead in the water after you buy a 60000 dollar vehicle. I regret buying a Kia, this was my first and never ever had this prob with another vehicle. People beware, I sure do not want to be left walking in 40 below weather.

My wife and I bought a used 2012 Kia Sorento in Sept. 2015 with a 2.4 liter and a GDI engine. Well this past sunday Oct. 2nd 2016 the Sorento was making loud metal noises in the engine and while driving it stalled. I pulled over and sat for a little while and started it up again and drove it to my inlaws. The next day oct. 3rd I drove it to Kia Horne here in Gilbert AZ. They looked at it and told me that there is a LOT of slug it the engine and metal noise in the lower part of the engine. They told me that it was able to be fixed and I would have to spend 6900 for a new used engine. The next day I told Kia Horne that I would produce the oil change documents for the past year. I was able to get 4 receipts but not the 5th one even though I knew I had received 5 oil changes within the past year. Well its been a week and my extended 100,000 mile warranty will not cover the repairs also because of the slug. The Sorento is at 85,000 mile at this moment. I found that there is a lawsuit against Kia for producing engine that were manufactured wrong and still sold knowing this. The Claim states that the Theta 2 liter and the 2.4 liter GDI engines contains defects that cause a restriction of oil flow through the connecting rod bearings and other parts of the engine. The claim also states that the defect causes stalling and complete engine failure at any time, including while driving, making the problem a serious safety hazard. The lawsuit claims not only did Kia conceal that the engines are prone to failure, but the automaker concealed the defect from consumers to keep selling the vehicles. The reason why I am leaving this information/review is to see what more can I do to get my car fixed by Kia and or join the lawsuit or start my own in Gilbert AZ.

We have called and dealt with the car dealer about the front end thumping sound. We had to replace the tires at 22,000 miles and we had the car in the car dealer 10 times. With only 22,000 miles on the car, we spent $672.15 for new tires and the dealer would not help, Atlantic Kia (out of bus., selling Kias now) in Pleasantville, NJ 08232. Now with 70,000, it needs tires again and the thumping area is the worst of the 3 tires. Now we will spend $550 for new tires. With that we always get rotation, balancing and front end alignments. We have all receipts but Kia will not call or email back and will not help at all.

I arrived to Kia at 8 am on Saturday 2-18/17 because my car was making noises when I pressed on the brakes. After 2 hours the rep came to the waiting room to speak to another customer and when finished he yelled across the room at me maam your car probably needs brakes then walked off...duh. I told them that when I got there. After another 30 min the same guy came to me stating my car needed brakes and they dont have them and it will be a few days before they can get them. My options are 1. drive away and come back in a few days to have my brakes changed and try not to drive too much because if additional parts go bad I will have to pay a lot more and they may not have all the parts...they really told me that. 2. Pay for a rental car until the parts come in and they can get replaced. They refused to get me a liner at no fee. 3. They could order some brakes from the auto parts store nearby and use them, but they may be noisy and not last. Wtf. I drive a Kia Sorento 2014, I come to KIA to get KIA parts. This is the first and last time I come here. So horrible.

I bought a 2011 Kia Rio5 in the spring of 2011 from Kia Sudbury. Since then Ive had nothing but horror from the vehicle and nothing but the same problem over and over again. I spent 24.000 and the car is breaking from new to now with the same continuous problems. Ive had the mechanic at Sudbury Kia dent my car while being serviced and they denied it. Sudbury Kia does not sell the tires for the Car they sold me. They also do not offer wheel alignments which is sad when you want your winter tires out in or your alignment set after they do the inner barring 3 times on the same tire. Even after an alignment at Fountain Tire in Sudbury, My 2011 Kia Rio5 has blown 6 coil packs and a cylinder update from 30000 and till now. New radio 2 weeks after buying the car. Because the button paint cracked all over the deck Ive had the same cobweb in my rpm gauge because Kia Sudbury didnt want to take the dash apart after me just buying the car and noticing it shortly after. My inner barring has blown 3 times on the front passenger side of the car. The car wont stay aligned. Ive had Sudbury Kia Fix the lights in the interior of the car and got oil all over the roof and didnt install the right light and broke the other one and now it hangs there only because the guy couldnt put the light back into the ceiling of the car. The back latch on the car locked up because of a piece of foam Kia seals the back lock with. The foam breaks after a while and gets stuck in the door, leaving you without a rear door.If you boost the car it blows the fuses for the radio and lights, it doesnt start in the cold and if you turn the key every 20 seconds when it doesnt start it will eventually start. When that happened I brought my car to Kia Sudbury and they couldnt help me unless my car didnt start, which it didnt thats why I was bringing it to them, but no help at all. The car is no good on gas. If youre on the highway, the 4th gear stays on too long which leaves you burning gas a lot, the car now is almost finished at 115000. The car is not good and unreliable and costly. Kia damaged my car and didnt help me at all with getting to what was the problem. They just covered it up. My car is now a really loud, misfiring riding pop can that costs a lot.

I traded in 2012 Kia Soul for a 2015 Kia Soul Plus. I got the car in June and I have been listening to the 3 month free promotion of Sirius Radio. I did not even notice that my new Kia has no CD player, until the other day when I went to put in a CD. I was completely shocked. My 2012 Kia did have it and I thought that the CD player was standard. I was not told when I leased this new 2015 Kia that there was no CD player. I feel that the salesman should have pointed that out to me. I am extremely disappointed and now I am looking through stores to see if I can buy a portable one to put in my car. I understand that changes are sometimes made, but a change like this should have been brought to my attention when I leased this car. This is a feature, for me, that is very important.

I filed a claim on the day of the accident (August 18) with my insurance company that I have progressive insurance with. They have consistently lied to me and will not give me answers. All I am told is that they are still investigating and keep telling me that they will find something out. I bought a Kia off the showroom floor. I drove it with no problem for about 8 months, then I took it over for a check up. Everything came back great, then it broke down. I utilized the road side assistance, and had it towed to the Clarsburgs Kia. It took them about a week to fix it . The eco had a glitch, and burnt up my fuel pump. I got it back, and put gas in it, and the check engine light came on, and there was a strong smell of gas. I called Kia, and they said bring it over. They checked it, and determined it was only the gas cap that was loose. They said they fixed it. 4 days later, I put gas in it, and the same thing happened. I took it back, and they now have my Kia again. This time, they gave me a loaner Kia, but Im tired of spending my days off in the Kia dealership, getting my 2011 showroom Kia fixed, week after week.

Then my air conditioner went out and same no warrant, They said that 2 yrs ago. And now my clutch. My car is only 5 yrs old. And at this time Im at 10005 miles so again they say Im over just 5. I believe you owe me. Damn it. Wow I never had problems with a Kia. So how can I not have warrant back then when I was under 1000. You people are all lies... I will never buy another Kia again. Bought a used 2010 Kia Rondo Jan. 2015. We are a much older couple & do little mileage. A few months after buying car various lites kept burning. Brought to local garage. Was told take to Kia dealership, an electrical problem. Changed lite, burnt again, along with complete dashboard. Back to Kia, this time supposedly the hitch that was problem. Changed lites again, now dome lite. Then car went dead, boosted by a garage, told us was electrical, boosted 2 other times. Back to Kia, this time ripped out the quette, bypassed some wires, good to go. Lasted a week, headlite burnt, Kia changed again at no charge but the new lite was not working. On & on this goes. Of course warranty finished. Now burnt lites & message on dash saying check. Back to Kia. Now need to put Quette back, and 4-500$ to change wiring. They finally diagnosed. This has being going round & round since March. What a nitemare. Serviceman called ROCH extremely rude. Cannot provide order # as car is still @ garage. Awaiting the proprietors call. Am also awaiting the t.v. program J.E.s reply. My husband also bought & changed various lites. What a way to be treated. Be careful anyone buying at this garage. We firmly believe this was a undisclosed problem when we bought.

I bought my 2009 Kia Rio in April, 2010. On Oct. 30, 2011, my car would not start when I came out of a store. There was a large, yellow sticker inside the door that reads For assistance, call. I called that number and it just rang. I did not see the transparent sticker in the window. Oct. 31, I dropped my keys at the dealership (Harris Kia in Lansdale, PA) hoping they could look at the car. I called the dealer at 8:30AM, they informed me that I had to call roadside assistance or pay for the tow. I called roadside assistance. They informed me that I needed the VIN number to verify service or pay for the tow. I left work on my lunch break and got the documentation out of my car. At about 11:30AM, I called roadside assistance again and set up an appointment for 4:00PM to meet the truck.By 4:30, there was no truck. The response I got from the local company, Mike Carrs Towing, was that there had been an accident call and the driver was stuck in traffic. We agreed that I would leave the keys under the drivers side floor mat. I had to leave as my ride was also having car trouble. At 5:10, I called the local company again. The receptionist gave me the same answer she had the first time. The car was picked up finally at about 5:50PM. The dealership checked my car and found that the battery was dead. I have owned the car for a year and a half and I am stuck for the entire amount. $185 + tax, $40 for checking the old battery and $40 for putting in the new one. How long does it take to put in a battery? Surely not a half hour.I am less than a happy customer. The amount of action I had to take and the sheer inconvenience are outrageous. Id hate to imagine getting stranded in my Rio and having to depend on the roadside assistance. I wonder if my warranty is worth the paper it is printed on. I had to leave 3 classes during work to deal with all of this nonsense.

Are you thinking of buying a 2011 or 2012 Kia Sorento? Forget it! My wife and I are both professionals who depend on our cars to get to work every day without fail. My wife is a pharmacist and I am an attorney. We are both in our 50s. In early 2010, we bought a 2011 Kia Sorento primarily because of the push-button ignition feature. My wife has advanced arthritis and the Honda Element she had been driving was hard for her to change gears with its dash-mounted shifter with the button on the thumb-side of the stick. We bought a brand new 2011 Kia Sorento from Lee Kia in Fort Walton Beach, Florida for under $26,000 financed through our credit union. The car performed well until 2 months ago, when we took it to the same dealer for a service recall we had gotten in the mail. When the car came back from the dealer, my wife said it was slow starting when she depressed the brake and pressed the push button ignition. On Monday, 7/18/11, the car would not start at all. It was completely dead. It then had 25,000 miles on it. I called Kia Roadside Assistance and they came and towed it to the same dealership that had done the recall work.It has been in the shop ever since then (18 days). I would repeatedly call the Service Department and speak with their manager Joe, who acted like he was annoyed at having to tell us anything! We were given a rental in the meantime at Kias expense, but this week they said they need a part that they cannot get and they have no idea when we will get the part back! I called the local General Manager at the beginning of this week. He was asked to call me back during the noon hour on my cell, but instead called me at 9:10 AM when I was in court and unavailable.I called and left messages for him the same day, but he did not return my call for 2 days. He then said that even though the car is built in Georgia – 6 hours from where we live here in Florida – his parts receiving facility in Atlanta was where he got his parts from and they did not have the part, a brake light component. In the meantime someone at the dealership told my wife that the problem with the push button ignition is endemic to Kia Sorentos, and they are trying to fix the Sorentos rolling off the line in Georgia with this problem now before they hit the public! So much for the security of buying a Korean car made in the USA. I told this to the local General Manager and his comment was that sounds like a story from the trenches, Ill check into it(!). The rental car we were given was a Ford fusion, low to the ground, which my wife cannot drive because she has a hip replacement. I told the General Manager this and he said he would have someone call the rental car agency to switch us out to something that rode higher. This was 2 days ago. That afternoon, the Service Manager Joe called and said he was trying to get us into another rental.I got tired of waiting for anyone to help us and 24 hours ago went to the rental car place and got put into another rental within 15 minutes of stopping by their office. I called the Service Manager after I left in the new rental and his sad story was he was still working on trying to find me another rental. I told him it would be nice if he would just call me daily with an update on the repair and the needed part. He said he would (this was at 3:30 PM yesterday). As of today at 1:30PM he has not called or left a message. Oh yeah, and when I called him earlier over 2 weeks ago, I was told I just got in. I have no idea what the status of your car is! This was at 7:35 AM (they open at 7:30AM) after no calls had been made to us the entire preceding day. Gee, sorry to distract you from chomping into that creme-filled doughnut buddy! As soon as we get this car back, if we ever do, I am running to replace it with a reliable Honda. If not repairable after 30 days I will be seeking an attorney to sue the company and the dealership for breach of warranties and fraud, under the Florida Lemon Law Act and any other cause of action that fits. Stay tuned.

So we purchased our Kia Optima Hybrid in 2016. We thought it will be more economical because it would save us money on gas. Well it did but a few months ago our battery died, had to replace that $400!!! Then the Hydraulic Unit had to be replaced spending a good total of $4000 with parts and labor. Now the car is back at the dealer. This time the engine got messed up... We have been given an estimate of $9000 to fix. The warranty we purchased from the dealership only covers $7000 so the rest we have to pay out of pocket... Like WTH. Why? We have been using a rental during this time and still no solution. I swear never again. If youre a 1st owner of the car you might have better luck in getting the car fixed with no issues - unfortunately for us we are second owners so we are screwed. SO DISAPPOINTED.

I own a 2013 KIA Rio Ex. I had many problems with the car. I always take it in to get the routine repairs, oil changes, brakes etc. One day on a really cold day my rear brakes locked up on the road (wheels dragging on the road), thankful that it happened on the side road. Had to get it towed to dealership and getting that call to say that it was my problem, cost me 539 dollars to fix and it took them a week to get the parts for the car. Since Feb 2014 I have spent 1400 dollars in repairs with a car still under warranty. It has also has had problem with the UVO system going for a 3rd unit tomorrow. I took my car to KIA Shop for repairs after an accident in mid Jan 2019. I was promised it would come out as good as new but sadly it came out looking awful. I took it back and they demanded extra money if I want any more work done. I contacted their headquarters and after a series of back and forth, they said they would do the repairs. Initial agreement involved changing of bumper which they refused to do until I pressed. I had to call them up on Facebook before I was told that the repairs will be done. We are now in Mid-March and the car is still with them. The most annoying thing is they dont even call to give status update. I have to be the one to do the calling. I have been using UBER since the car was with them and spending extra-budgetary.
