DO NOT BUY A 2018 HONDA ACCORD - DEFECT ON BLACK PAINT ON HOOD & ROOF.
DO NOT BUY A 2018 HONDA ACCORD - DEFECT ON BLACK PAINT ON HOOD & ROOF. I went to a Honda dealership in Nashville to buy a new 2018 black Accord on September 23, 2018. The paint was ruined on both the cars they tried to sell. They offered to fix it by wet sanding it. Who wants to buy a new car that has been wet sanded? I called 2 other dealerships, and the paint was the same way. One of the dealerships transferred me in another car, and the paint is also ruined on it. The auto detailer at the dealership said all the black Accords he has seen look that way. Stain in the clear coat due to tree sap, or bugs. It looks like acid rain spots. The clear coat must be incredibly weak. If the paint already looks like this, imagine 2 years from today. Honda this is fraud to sell a brand new car that paint is destroyed. A new car should not be a damaged car.

Durability would have been a 5 except for plastic side mirror which has been a problem. Performance has been great. Gas mileage excellent. Repairs few. Performance and comfort excellent. Have performed regular maintenance only. Buying and servicing car has been a pleasure. As an older female, have experienced unpleasant disrespectful interactions when purchasing and maintaining other car brands. Overall performance, comfort, durability, and holding value would motivate me to buy another Honda and recommend to friends and family.

We have a 2013 Honda Odyssey in white. On June 1st 2019 Honda issued a service bulletin saying they would fix the defective pealing paint on “certain” VIN numbers. Luckily our car was one of those approved VIN numbers, HOWEVER.... they claim that they will ONLY repaint 2 areas on our car, the roof and the tailgate. We have other visible areas starting to flake off and peel away, especially around our windows and it’s only a matter of time before the rest of this faulty paint falls off. It’s the ENTIRE CAR that’s covered in this defective paint, repainting only a couple areas is NOT OKAY! We are extremely furious and want our car completely painted in order to fully fix our cars paint!

So my car note had been behind for month due to the fact that my husband had lost his job, and I have been the bread winner. My carnote of my 2011 Fit had fallen behind, but I always sent them SOMETHING. Fast forward I come off my day shift at work and notice that my car was gone:(. I frantically called Honda like hey did you guys repo the car? And the Rep. said, Well the car is in repo status, but it does not show in our system as being picked up or not. She made a few phone calls and said that she would not know until one of the many companies they work with send in the proper documents stating that the car was picked up. Long story short Honda required me to pay a repo fee to the city (Torrance, Ca which was 12$ to the city Court House) pay the repo fee, and bring my past due balance current. The only thing that sucks is the process of running out of time during the day and having to wait a whole nother day which equals another day of storage fees. My car was picked up on a Thursday. My fees were paid that Friday afternoon, but because I paid a little after 4 pm the lot was closed :( and I had to wait until Monday to get my car. I must say my situation was HORRIBLE, but it wasnt because of Honda. And Out of all the reps I spoke to they were not all that rude to me (They were kinda like demanding and one person told me more information than they were suppose to but hey he was being nice). So all and all once my account was brought up to date Honda faxed over the release paper. I was able to go to the lot and get my car. (I did have to pay a storage fee of 362.50 CASH???) But I cant just say Honda made the process harder than what it was. If I have anything to complain about its the fact that these lots close SO EARLY and are not open on weekends and cont. to charge you :(. But I just got my car released to me today. After being gone from Thursday December 15 till Monday December 19...

I plan to buy out a lease and was informed by the dealer that Honda Canada requires a safety inspection and I have to pay for the inspection. My question is why the customer is responsible to pay. I think Honda Canada is the party who are suppose to make sure the vehicle is safe when selling to people. I called Honda Canada. The representative did not have a good reason except saying repeated that the dealer has advised me correctly and it is in the contract. I describe the representative acted somewhat professional, but definitely not friendly.

Just bought a 2020 Honda Rtl Rideline. Love everything about it except there is a whistling wind noise coming in from the front windshield and door almost like your window is not closed all the way. Honda kept the vehicle for 3 days and could not find the problem. Contacted the area case manager and his answer was that there is nothing they could do because that is how the vehicle is made. Just because that is how the vehicle is made doesnt make it right. There is definitely a defect that is causing the noise to come into the vehicle while driving on the highway.

At 13,000 miles, I detected oil leaking onto my parking space. The dipstick indicated the oil to be 2 quarts low. My Honda dealer did not respond to my concerns via e-mail. I went to the dealership where the service department topped off the oil. I said it appeared that the plug was not secured properly when last serviced there. My leak improved but seemed to continue. Another e-mail was ignored. I traded for another brand.

Leasing 2014 Honda Accord Sport. Less than 36 mos, under 17K miles and the paint is peeling around the rear window. Honda says that is NOT covered under their warranty. I bought a 2018 Honda Accord Touring trim (nearly $40K car). Have had 7 different failures so far (defective paint, electronics failures, parts falling off car door seals, wheel well lining, etc). Hondas answer is to keep taking the vehicle in for service. Its only 3 months old with 6500 miles, and its constantly breaking. In spite of the obvious fact that I have a lemon/dud, Honda will NOT replace the vehicle. My dealers answer outside of keep bringing it in for service was for me to sell my car back to them at a loss, and theyd work me a deal on a new car.GARBAGE quality from Honda. Even worse they dont want to stand behind their product. Ive been working with Leo at Hondas customer care, and he said theres nobody I can escalate to, but hed discuss this internally with the distributor (?) who generally does not talk to the customer. At this point I am in the process of yet more repairs, but a new car experience should NEVER be like this.Ive owned Honda cars my whole life, and have had an 83, 87, 2000, 2005 Accord, as well as a 2005 and a 2006 Odyssey. My 2005 Accord was a nightmare, but that was due to a 3rd party, aftermarket hack job from the dealer, so I cannot state that was a Honda issue. Now I have a 2018 Accord, and outside of some miracle response from Honda to make this right, it will be my last Honda EVER!! To be specific, heres a list of my issues so far in my first 3 months/6500 miles on the car: 1. Paint defect on side of car in front of passenger door 2. Paint defect on roof of car3. Failed backup camera/console unit 4. Weather stripping literally falling off passengers back door 5. Wheel well came loose and is resting on the tire while driving (part is in back order) 6. Bottom weather stripping loose, and sticking outside of rear passengers door7. Intermittent charging working/not working on wireless cell phone charging pad (iPhone X)NOTE: When the dealer looked into the paint on the roof, they first wanted me to file a claim with Cameron (additional paint protection/warranty product I bought), and there was a small elbow sized dent in the corner of the roof after they looked at it which I had to speak with the service manager about to get fixed. They did fix it, but didnt initially want to take ownership of it. Seriously, Honda? Ive Never spent so much money to only live to regret the purchase and get such a careless response from the manufacture of such a clear quality issue with YOUR product. If you are thinking of buying a Honda, buyer beware, and know that Honda will do nothing more than keep sending you in for repairs time and time again. I fear Im reaching the point that the lawyers will have to battle this one out.

We purchased a 2011 Honda Civic from a private owner over 4 years ago (2014). Would you believe WE JUST got the title clear and in our name??? (2018) Granted we started the process a year an a half ago when we tried to register it in a different state only to learn that Honda had some kind of hold on it. We kept getting someone from their customer service telling us they had fixed everything and would send out the title. Only to wait for weeks and never receive it. We couldnt register it until we held a title. They kept telling us they couldnt talk to us about why they couldnt release it??? WHAT? WE WERE THE OWNERS! This went on for months back and forth with a new person saying they were sending the title and going through the whole cycle again! Omgosh, so frustrating! I had to track the original owners down to help us, who had since MOVED OUT OF THE COUNTRY, and guess what? They (Honda) said that they had to be in a US OFFICE to sign some paper! We waited for them to come back for a visit to the U.S. and then thought everything was squared away, guess what? STILL DIDNT SEND THE TITLE. We ended up having to get an attorney and we used to be HUGE Honda fans.Never again will we buy a Honda. The customer service reps were always incredibly rude and disrespectful even hanging up on the original owner. Very, very, very disappointed in Honda to say the least. Customer service is a reflection of the company, I feel very strongly about that. I dont want to support a company that doesnt honor and serve their customers.

I booked an appointment with Honda for April 12th, 2016 at 10 am in order to take off four winter tires, replace them with all season tires and replace the air filter. This is a very routine service and one that can be done in less than 45 minutes. This was performed in Thunder Bay, Ontario at the Gore Motors service center. After dropping off the vehicle there was no communication between them and myself and at 6 pm I decided to call. I called 15 times between 6 pm and 8 pm (close) with no answer and absolutely no update on my vehicle. I had to work a night shift as a health care professional at the local hospital and as a result, had to take a taxi to work. This is absolutely unacceptable and frankly, embarrassing. This service was not provided because I am a woman. If this was an adult male the service would have been completed in an hour with no issue. This is horrible for our society, especially for a multinational corporation prominent in the Thunder Bay community. There was no apology provided when I reached the service center at 8:30 am and I was still required to pay the service fee. Such an ordeal was completely unnecessary and it does not take 10 hours to perform an extremely basic service, so either the employees were incompetent or did not provide the sufficient services because I am a young woman. I hope the Customer Service Department sees this complaint and takes action because there is no place for this in our society and I was stranded without a vehicle, which is unjust and unethical. I hope this never happens again and right now have absolutely no desire to ever enter another Honda Service Center with such poor customer service professionals.

Exploding rear window on 2003 Honda Odyssey. This occurred on Sept. 24, 2011 at approximately 1 p.m. in Calgary, Alberta. It was a beautiful clear day, the temperature at the time was about 20 -23 degrees Celsius. My van was parked on a residential street facing eastbound.Earlier in the day, I tried to clean my exterior car windows with a wet cloth. While I didnt have any problems wiping down the north-facing side windows and the front window, I wasnt able to wash the south-facing side and rear windows because they were too hot to touch! As I moved the wet cloth over the windows, the water would dry on the glass instantly, leaving streaks. The heat of the windows made it impossible for me to continue washing them without burning my fingers or hands so I abandoned the task for the time being and left the sliding doors open for about 30 minutes to cool down the interior. A knob/latch is missing from the left side rear window so it doesnt close completely and creates an air gap.About two hours later, I drove to a self-serve car wash to wash down the van completely. I had my dog with me, who was tethered in and laying down on the seat directly behind the drivers seat.I started by walking around and spraying the soap solution over the vehicle. After adjusting the control to rinse, I began washing the front of the van when I heard one very loud pop from somewhere behind the van. When I got to the back of the vehicle, I noticed that the explosion (implosion? ) was my rear window! It was completely crumbled, but was still mostly intact. There were two holes in the glass, one in each bottom corner. I saw larger pieces of broken glass (approximately 1- 2) on the ground in the wash bay and more pieces inside the van.As I opened or shut the doors and drove out of the wash bay, the glass continued to fall down from the frame and into the back well area. As I was parked inside the car wash bay, the window didnt break from flying rocks or other road debris and theres no obvious evidence that I was a target for a BB gun, slingshot...or worse.

I bought a brand new 2013 Honda CRV in Feb. 2013. I have spent a total of $11943.74 to date on my vehicle in just 7 years. That’s an average of $1706.25 annually. That’s got to be wayyyy above average. There are 255,000kms on the vehicle, mostly all highway. This doesn’t include cost for tires over that 7 years. Most of this has also been at the dealership; most people tend to agree that that’s my problem; stay away from the dealers, they say. I highly doubt I’ll buy another Honda.

From the beginning of my lease of the Honda Clarity fuel cell car, I had problem with the car controller board. Then, the fuel tank problem had my car towed to their Torrance, CA. location for replacement due to unavailability of the service and hydrogen fuel. Then, the water pump corrosion recall to replace the water pump. Then, the True Zero hydrogen fuel cell producer depot caught on fire and their trucks were caught on fire. Theres no hydrogen fuel and the long delay in getting the inspections and permit to re-open the True Zero hydrogen plant.Meanwhile, the consumers face horrendous problems getting through to Honda Customer service to respond to deal with the rental car situation. A lot of time burden spent by consumers like myself to get Honda to help by providing temporary rental car. Honda customer service keep telling customers to wait for their case managers to call back if you can even get through to them. Honda Clarity fuel cell lessees are paying a high monthly leasing fees to Honda and not being able to drive the car and compounded by their horrible customer service and red-tape to make consumers bear the burden of time and costs. This doesnt happen with Toyota and Hyundai fuel cell vehicles when I talked to their customers. If theres a zero rating, I would rate it zero.

2000 Honda Accord EX-V6 4spd Automatic - I began having issues with my transmission about a month ago. It started with slippage then hard shifting into reverse, and now, it hardly shifts from 1st into 2nd. It holds 1st way too long then shifts out of 1st, slips, and then slams into 2nd, causing the shift indicator light to blink and a check engine light code. This email regards a horrible customer service experience I have had with Honda. I have had a problem with my 2017 Hatch - the center console randomly begins a series of beeps (beep-beep-beep) and throws my iPhone, especially the navigation system, off of the system. I have video recorded the problem happening and taken it to my dealer and another dealer on 4 occasions. They cannot replicate the problem.I called Honda USA to seek additional help. My case was given to a case manager - LUIS - who argued with me, made me cry on every phone conversation, even angered my even-tempered husband. I am seeking help with this problem and all I got was verbal abuse. When I asked to speak to a manager or another agent, I was told by LUIS that I could only speak with him. This one experience - this one experience alone - has decided me that Honda is not the company for me. You seem not to care about a problem that I am sure with time will end up in some sort of recall situation - I simply cant imagine that my car is the only one having this problem. If your customer service is so uncaring and apathetic, then I simply cant be a part of this company.

Ive been on Hondas since the late 60s, dirt, trail & blacktop versions. Ive had other brands (primarily cruisers), but have been disappointed and have returned home to Honda. After playing in the dirt during my youth I graduated finally to the Wings. Got my first Wing in 1984 right out of the crate. Put over 250K on her and traded her in on a shiny new SEI in 1986. Kept the SEI in pristine condition until a moving company broke her during a military move & purchased a 95 anniversary edition, which I still have today. Ive had hog riders tell me she isnt a real bike and Ive told them that they are correct - shes a Cadillac convertible on 2 wheels. Unlike an ultra glide I can be on her with my wife, all day long and at the end of a long day of 400+ miles I can still walk. Three cruisers, all with over 200K miles doing nothing more than typical scheduled maintenance or replacing small parts e.g., tires, brake pads etc. Ive known several people that have well over a half-million miles on Wings and are still going strong - figure out how many V-twins youd go through in that many miles. Ive been thinking of trading in the 95 for another new bike, but really do Not like the most recent version of the Wing. Ive been on the BMW cruiser and Ive got to admit, it really has me thinking of changing. Thirty-five years of loyalty with Wings is hard to shake, but they (Honda) seem intent on taking one of their best lines (Goldwing) and making it into another sports bike. Buy a good used one if you can find one, youll be very happy you did.

I purchase this vehicle in the Spring of 2007 at Honda of Midlands in Columbia SC with 56,000 miles... this was a certified used vehicle with 7 years or 120,000 miles warranty, I purchase the service warranty and religiously took it to the sister dealer in my city. About Mid Feb 2017 I took it for service and they need it to check my engine light as it was on. The tech check the pressure of my cylinders and found #2 to have coolant coming from the wall of the engine. Also, need to repair my seals and other miscellaneous items. Little that I know that the tech found a crack between the wall of the coolant and the engine block thus needing a new engine. Granted I have 158,000 miles on it and no longer has a warranty. Honda told me NO canNOT help me and the dealer ask me for $5,000 for a used re manufactured engine. This is not my first honda as I own also a Honda Civic EX with over 200,000 miles own it. The Service Manager told them that this was a rare occurrence maybe 1 in 10,000 which doesnt help me. I opted for them NOT to repair it and I picked up in pieces sitting in my garage waiting for a new engine. Im not happy nor I want to buy a new one anymore.

My name is Jose **. 2 weeks ago I took my Honda Civic to the Honda dealership to fix my 2 recalls On my airbags. Also had my AC fixed because it was not turning on, they told me it was gonna cost me a little over $500 To get it fixed. I said go ahead fix it, same day I called the dealership that car was overheating and shutting off after they did work on it, they completely denied it that they only touched the AC but I have proof from other repair shops there was nothing wrong with my car, I took my car for one thing, I don’t know what they did, it damaged another thing, now they say is a bad battery, a bad alternator and a bad AC compressor, but that’s not what they told me at first when I took my car to have my AC fixed, what can I do?

Unfortunately it took so long to finish the survey I abandoned it. I called regarding a question as to how to pair my iPhone, I got a recorded message that said press 1 if I want to leave a message. I pressed it five times and wasnt able to leave a message. Finally, like the experience mentioned in the above paragraph, I gave up. My question never answered.

Trash truck crossed center line and hit driver side door while traveling at 60 mph. Car spun around in front of the trash truck and was broadsided by the truck on the drivers side. Car continued to spin and rear-ended into guard rail dividing highway. Truck then ran over the left front corner of car. Car suffered $15,000 in damages and two sections of frame replaced. Wife was injured with whiplash in back and neck, aneurism on aorta, and seat belt pancreatitis and chest and neck seat belt burns. I was not injured. No air bags deployed in the vehicle. My insurance fixed the car instead of totaling it. The car suffered $10,000 in diminished value. I cant find a lawyer in WV to help me, cant find a lawyer to file suit against Honda for failure of air bags resulting in injury. Car was a 2010 Honda Civic Hybrid and was purchased on 1-9-11 and accident was on 3-24-11.

Beyond dissatisfied with horrible paint quality and worse customer service
Beyond dissatisfied with horrible paint quality and worse customer service from Honda USA. I am awaiting a reply from consumer affairs with regards to my wifes 2014 Honda Accord, purchased new from Jim Coleman Honda in Clarksville, Maryland. My wife purchased the vehicle, along with an extended paint protection warranty (to protect the paint finish against premature wear, rust, staining, etc.), which covers the vehicle for 7 years from the date of purchase. In the past 6 months, we have taken note that the factory paint finish has begun to shrink and peel back from the rear window glass along the surrounding body panels. We notified the dealership, and they advised that there is a known factory defect with vehicles finished in Pearl White (my wifes paint color) and dark metallic blue, where this pattern has been observed. There are countless accounts of this paint defect online. Some representative web posts are linked below; There are many more... https://www.carcomplaints.com/Honda/Accord/2014/body_paint/inferior_paint_and_clear_coat.shtml https://www.carcomplaints.com/Honda/Accord/2014/body_paint/paint_peeling.shtml https://www.autobody-review.com/blog/what-is-happening-to-my-honda-paint-problems https://www.driveaccord.net/threads/paint-peeling-away-pics-included.544831/?fbclid=IwAR0rabgCs3mFj6yijicnLY4m2v_v00HGgNbyD2Fu898TA-kGuy_QDaT3qo0https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SE3HLhHYh0wThere is even an entire Facebook group dedicated to raising awareness and seeking remediation to this obvious manufacturers defect: https://www.facebook.com/groups/389497225179056/. The dealer advised that they believed this to be a factory defect, and not a warranty issue and reached out to Honda, USA on our behalf. We were advised that resolution was reached with Honda, USA and they agreed to pay on a 90/10 basis (90% of the repair costs would be paid by Honda; we would be responsible for 10%) and we were asked to bring the vehicle in to a Honda Certified Repair Facility (Chandlers Collision Center in Columbia, MD).We brought the vehicle in to the recommended shop, and while we were able to obtain a repair estimate, the shop adjuster began scraping at the paint (causing further damage) which left an extremely unpleasant feeling about the shop. When we asked to see samples of paint work they had completed, the adjuster showed me 2 vehicles on the lot -- each one worse than the previous in terms of color match, paint texture and body work quality. Further, we were advised that Honda would not stand behind this shops work, despite telling us that this was their shop of preference, deferring any quality issues with the repair to the repair facility policies. We advised Jim Coleman Honda of our desire to have the repair performed at another facility that we had located (also Honda Certified): Subway Auto Body in Gambrills, MD. We had the opportunity to meet with this shop manager/owner who was very understanding of the nature of the repairs needed, the process needed to repair correctly and warrantied workmanship integrity. We asked about having the repair performed at this facility instead, and were advised that Jim Coleman would look into this with Honda and get back to us.Weeks went by without any feedback despite numerous calls to both Honda and Jim Coleman, and finally I escalated the issue with Honda, USA. I received a call-back from Honda advising that we took too long to schedule the repair, and therefore they were no longer accepting responsibility. The Honda representative would not allow me to get a word in edgewise, despite pleading with them that the reason the repair was not scheduled was due to a lack of response in how to proceed on their end. They refused to listen, vulgarities were exchanged, and they refuse to address this matter. Subsequent calls into Honda, and we are seemingly black-listed from speaking with a representative.Bottom line, we have email traffic assuring us that the repair would be covered at a 90/10 split, numerous inquiries on how to proceed that went unanswered, and now we are left with a nearly $2,500 repair bill for a factory defect. The shop owner at Subway has also attempted to reach out to Honda on our behalf and they wont even return a phone call -- mind you this shop pays annual fees to remain an accredited Honda Repair facility, so this says a great deal for Honda, USA in general. Since the time when we first notified Honda of the issue, the damage has spread to the full surround of the rear glass and is continually growing larger. It is despicable that Honda refuses to accept responsibility and worse that their lack of customer service follow through has only delayed remediation.

The passenger side airbag turns off and on with a ding, at random times, while my teenagers have been passengers. The car takes the same route on the way to and from work, with a teenager, and in the morning, the side passenger airbag goes off and on sometimes. One morning it went off and on 31 times, in a 35 minute drive, with the beeping warning. Other mornings, it goes off and on a few times, and some mornings it never goes off. On the way home in the afternoons, it doesnt go off. It was the same drive, with the same people involved. The teenager has only sat in the seat, and has not moved all around in the seat. Also, the car is brand new, and have only had it for less than one month.

I contacted the main number to Honda regarding my complaint (the need to new brake pads after only driving the car for 22,000). Two reps called me and the dealer contacted me and everyone was very helpful in rectifying this situation. They looked over my warranty and are now in the process of working out a refund for me. I was upset and very angry initially as I hold Honda in such a high-esteem. And after their help and what seemed to be genuine assistance, my dissatisfaction has abated! I called Honda because I bought a new 2016 HR-V EX AWD which has the keyless system. The owners guide states I can unlock all doors with the trunk release. It does not and I learned that the owners manual states something different. I also complained to the phone contact because the only door that opens all doors is the passenger door, unlike past vehicles I have had where pushing the button twice opens all doors. I was told this was a security feature of the vehicle. However, it would be just as secure if it required two pushes for all doors and only the current handle grab for the drivers door. When I asked how to get both issues repaired I was told the drivers door was engineered that way and could not be fixed because it was not broken. They will be calling back about the trunk to clarify which is correct, the owners guide or owners manual.I was pleased the company is willing to respond quickly but am entirely dissatisfied with their denial that the doors could be altered given that this version of the car is quite a bit more money than the version with remote entry instead of keyless entry. As the driver, I either have to fish the key fob out of my purse or make my kids wait until I am inside the car to let them in. Im having to train them to stop yanking on the door handles until I am inside. Worse is that I cannot open the back doors myself without the same maneuvering, difficult if I am hauling items I have stored in the back seat.

In April 2012, I took my Honda Odyssey to be repaired at Lute Riley Honda in Richardson, Texas. I told them to do a multi-point inspection to find out what was wrong with my transmission and brakes. Upon completing the inspection I was told by Joseph, a mechanic there, that all he found was that the transmission switch needed to be replaced; the gasket, gear oil, pressure plate, and clutch needed to be replaced, as well as the cat converter. I agreed and also purchased a warranty for my transmission. My subtotal was over $6000. After all the repairs, I received my car back seven days later, thinking that everything he stated would be replaced. Earlier this year, the clutch stopped functioning. I took my minivan to the dealership for them to honor the warranty. I was told that the warranty did not cover clutch repairs. Basically, I was lied to. I am still trying to seek justice and get them to honor their word. I highly recommend that no one use Lute Riley for any repairs. They do not have the integrity to be in business and should not be trusted. Next time, I will buy a Toyota.

2014 Honda CRV grinding noise - VTC Actuator issue - I bought my Honda CRV
2014 Honda CRV grinding noise - VTC Actuator issue - I bought my Honda CRV in mid-2013. By the time the car was 1 year old, with 10,000 miles, there was a grinding noise when I would start the car. The grinding noise lasts about 2 seconds. It has been into a Honda dealership several times. I was told Honda is working on a fix and that the problem would be addressed when the engineering department had the issue figured out. One year later (but still under warranty), the grinding noise is louder and longer than before, and happens almost every time I start the car. Upon doing some research, I learned that Honda has been installing the defective VTC actuator since 2008, in Accords. The defective actuator was also installed in 2012-2014 CRVs. It appears that Honda continued to use the defective actuator since 2008, yet customers are being told that a fix is in the works, 7 years later. American Honda has advised Honda service departments to not replace the actuator as it is likely that the replacement actuator will present the same grinding noise. A regional case manager also assured me that a fix was in the works but did not comment when I pointed out that Honda continued to use a defective part from 2008-2014. Honda repeatedly emphasizes that this is not a safety or performance issue, to which I have replied that is likely the reason it has been 7 years with no fix -- it is a low priority and Honda chooses to direct its engineering resources elsewhere. I am not sure why there has been no class action law suit to address this multi-year problem. Dealerships will not do anything as American Honda will not allow replacements to be made. This is my last Honda. Their way of doing business is horrendous. What I have now is a vehicle that definitely attracts attention (but not in a good way) when it is started as everyone in the vicinity gets to enjoy the grinding sound of metal-on-metal.

Thus, this bike ensures you enjoy a joyous and fun filled ride every time. Another best feature of this bike is irrespective of the fact what your height is you will get an extremely comfortable ride out of this. Another notable aspect is the 4.4 gallon tank that is quite slim and falls between your legs. In fact whenever you think of a fun and kinda care free ride, this will be one of the most ideal options that you can avail of.

Have been a Honda owner all of my life. The last two Hondas, a 2010 Hybrid Insight and a 2013 Civic, had batteries die at two years old with mileage under 20,000. I am very concerned. I feel their quality has gone down. Do not get me wrong, their service is outstanding. The batteries were replaced in both instances with no hassle and no cost because they were under warranty. However I am deeply concerned. Another month and I wouldve been stranded in ice and snow with no heater. Thank God it was caught when it was. Looking online I see I am not the only person with this complaint. I also feel the interiors are more plastic and not as lux as they used to be. After five Hondas, I think I am going to make a switch the next time I am ready to buy a car. Again service outstanding, quality of car has gone downhill.

I purchased a new, 2022 Honda Ridgeline Black Edition just a little over two weeks ago. When my vehicle was less than two weeks old, with under 500kms it began throwing warning lights. The awd stopped working and my heater shut down entirely (in minus 30 weather). I was getting a total of eight different warning lights and I couldnt move my electric seats to be able to drive safely. Once I got my vehicle home it would no longer start. I figured no big deal, my vehicle hasnt even gone through its first tank of gas, Honda has a great reputation and will take care of me. I have never been so wrong about a manufacturer and have never felt so unappreciated as a customer. It took days to even get my vehicle towed. Ive now spent the past five days on the phone talking with over a dozen different people. Every person I spoke with said it was a different department or persons responsibility. Literally just passing the buck back and forth between Honda Customer Relations, Honda Roadside Assistance and the dealership. I even had my call dropped at one point. After being juggled around for days I finally demanded to speak to a supervisor at Honda Customer Relations. Customer relations told me that supervisors dont speak on the phone with customers. I thought I must have misheard what I was being told. I can buy a forty dollar watch from China and get a supervisor on the phone but not for a new vehicle? I spent 60k on a vehicle two weeks ago (though I havent actually been able to drive it for nearly half the duration of ownership) and Honda Canada doesnt even value me enough as a customer to allow me to speak to someone above the person answering the phone. I was told the only way I would be able to speak to a supervisor is if I was injured or if my vehicle injured someone else. Theyre lucky that I was able to pilot my heater less vehicle from a near laying position back to my house without injuring someone. I however, was not so lucky, as apparently an accident is the only way that you rate high enough to speak to someone with an answer other than we dont take care of that or its someone elses responsibility. Thats what it ultimately comes down to...caring. Honda obviously no longer cares if its customers are safe or remotely satisfied. My vehicle is sitting at the dealership 170kms away from my home, after it broke down due to no fault of my own. Not my fault but my problem. Hondas suggestion was either rent a vehicle on my dollar or talk to my insurance company about getting a rental. Honda Canada, as you have made blatantly clear at this point, your (technically my, though I dont actually have possession) malfunctioning, unsafe vehicle has become solely my problem after I signed on the dotted line. I however, will never buy another Honda and I will let everyone who will hear it know that Honda no longer stands behind their product and definitely not their customer. This has been unequivocally the worst buying experience Ive had to date. Im sitting here in utter disbelief, sick to my stomach trying to figure out how to get my new vehicle back home. I recommend that if youre shopping for a new vehicle that you dont just assume that Honda still stands for reliability and customer service as I had. Look into the customer complaints, class action lawsuits and youll likely figure out that Honda has adopted the money first, customer last stance that so many manufacturers are moving towards. Let my expensive mistake guide you away from a company that no longer embodies what used to be synonymous with Honda...Trust. Youll pay the Honda premium, theyll pocket your dollars, take your trust, crumple it up and toss it along side you into the trash. I may not speak for all your customers but I think all those youve tossed aside would agree...We arent asking for better.. were demanding it!

Updated on 11/17/2020: Im not happy with Honda and customer service. They keep brushing me off and just saying, Oh he has a case number. They dont do anything to fix the problem. I will never buy a car again from Honda. Im not happy with Honda.Original Review: I was shocked when my tire blew out on the road and I had no spare. I have to spend my time and lose of a day of work to wait for the tow truck to come to pick up the car and take to the tire place. And I have to spend money for a tow truck. That in itself is a rip-off. I will be filing a class-action lawsuit against Honda for the inconvenience and safety. Whoever had the same situation please contact me so you can be part of the lawsuit. **

I had an engine seal leak, broken shock, replaced rotors and brakes at 23,000. Now I have another horrible noise that will need fixed. Honda service and Honda Corp can’t hear the noise yet outside reputable mechanics can. Honda knows I am 3,000 miles until my 36,000 warranty is up so they don’t, hear anything and so will not investigate the problem. I believe I have a lemon. Honda Corp doesn’t participate in the California Lemon Law. They are ignoring my complaints.]

I purchased a 2011 Ridgeline and within the 5 years it has 30k miles and has been in the shop 20 times and still has to go in again. Problems from oil leaks to windows not working in the cold. Honda and the dealer wont step up and take responsibility for this lemon. The lemon law board in Vermont was the biggest waste of time ever. They wont let me show my evidence that this was a lemon. Makes me wonder who is paying them off. My first Ridgeline that was made in Canada was an unbelievable vehicle. This Ridgeline was made in Alabama. Typical USA quality. Ill never deal with Honda USA or auto master ever again.

I was a Honda owner for over 20 years and always liked Honda. Generally they are good cars, but if you do have an issue, the customer service is the absolute worst. I have proof of trying to call customer service many times with no return call. It’s impossible to get a number for someone “higher up”. So I tried emailing and again can prove that not one person would respond to my emails. My email got the automatic response that someone would be in touch within 48 business hours, but I never heard back from anyone from Honda, despite trying to call and email every 2 months. I finally gave up, bought a Mazda, and never looked back.

I recently drove down to Florida to visit my sister in my 6 month old 2016 Honda Civic. Once I reached Orlando, all of my warning lights turned on and my car stalled. I had it towed to Holler Honda on Semoran Boulevard Thursday night. It is now Saturday MORNING and I have not heard anything regarding my car or even getting a loaner. I have called Holler Honda TEN TIMES within these two days and each time Ive been placed on hold and transferred to a line where they are insistent on taking down my name and number to give me a callback. Unfortunately they never do call back. At this point I would love to leave that car that costs me $500 at the dealership since its such a freaking headache!!

On October 10, 2017 I had my vehicle in for service with what seemed to be a miss-firing engine. My Service Advisor was Eric **. Mr. ** told me that sediment had accumulated in the bottom of the fuel tank and that they had cleaned it out. After this I began having trouble filling the tank with gas because the pump handle kept disengaging. The car was also running poorly and finally about two weeks later I could not accelerate above 25 miles per hour. At this point I took the car to another car repair shop close to my place of employment (A & M Auto Shop in Jersey City). The owner called and asked me to come down to the shop to see what he had discovered. He had begun to flush out the fuel line and found part of a rag lodged in the pipe. He dropped the fuel tank in order to remove the rest of the fabric and then also found the fingers of a plastic glove sitting inside the small enclosure to the fuel pump. Inside of the gas tank was a wipe rag which had shed particles throughout the inside of the tank. After A & M removed the rag and glove, the car ran well for a while but the mechanic told me that he couldnt tell how much damage had been done to the fuel pump as a result of all the particles (from the rag) that had been sucked into the pump. We do not use this car extensively but planned to take it on a trip to Williamsburg, Virginia in April, 2018. While driving through Washington DC, we noticed a burning smell and the car would not accelerate above 20 miles per hour. We pulled into a Firestone Auto Care Center in Springfield, VA on Saturday afternoon around 4:40 pm. Since the store was closed on Sunday, they could not service the car until Monday morning and we had to pay for two nights in a hotel. On Monday, the Firestone mechanic suggested replacing the catalytic converter. He did so but the problem remained the same. Firestone did not charge for the service since the problem was not fixed. They suggested that we take the car to a nearby Honda dealer. We had the car towed to the Honda dealer who could not service the car until the next day. At this point we had to pay for another nights stay in a hotel. The next day, the dealer informed us that the fuel pump had failed and must be replaced. On our way home from Virginia, the car again began running rough. I have not driven the car since then. I believe that these problems can all be traced to the particles from the rag which corrupted the fuel system. At this point, the car still does not run properly. Since the rag and glove originated in your shop, I am asking that you restore my car to good working order at no additional charge and reimburse me for my expenses thus far -- $2158 (A&M - $475, three nights in the Wingate Hotel - $719, and Virginia Honda - $964). I have the rag and glove that was found in the fuel pump tank as well as video of these items being removed by the A & M mechanic who is willing to attest to what he found. Please contact me on ** so we can resolve this matter. I look forward to hearing from you.

But as soon I start driving the car, the hybrid car switches on the engine but the engine sound is too high. I want my car tested and rectified. In no way I had spent this much money to get frustration and so much tension, my head aches since last night. Please spread this complaint as much as possible. I purchased my 2007 Fit in March of 2007 and have loved every drive in it. Since purchasing my car, Ive had 2 kids and we have taken this on every family trip and survived. After a while it has started to feel cramped, but we manage. Ive decided to upgrade to a better car, but I could drive this thousands more miles and not have an issue... It is a sound vehicle. Perfect for a young driver. That being said, a word of caution: this is a small car. If in a high volume trucking area or high traffic area, you need to be aware of cars around you, as they may not see you. Ive had 2 accidents where people ran into me bc they didnt see my parked car. So, if looking at cars for an inexperienced driver, you may want to look at something higher and/or longer.

My 2004 Honda Accord Coupe started jerking at 78,000 miles. I had someone look at it who is a mechanic for the FBI. He said there was very little transmission fluid in the car and that was unusual. Two weeks after he put in transmission fluid, I was alone in the city and my car would not go into reverse. I panicked and called this man who recommended a transmission place. The cost was $2,550 to have the work done. I am a single mom and had to rent a car for the week it took to replace the transmission. This cost an additional $200. I looked up Honda car problems and this is a common problem with my car. I called Honda and they said that my VIN was not a car that was documented as having a problem. I have since had the car repaired and it still doesnt feel quite right. The transmission company asked if I would bring the car back in three weeks, so that they can check that everything is working properly.

After that, I informed Mayapuri Honda dealer (because my local address is near, by Mayapuri). But after 15 days, that dealer had taken action and he changed some parts of the engine and I paid 3000 Rs for that. Now, again, I am facing the same problem and my Activa is at my home (Baraut). The local dealer is saying, I will not do anything; you will have to take it to the same agency where you purchased from. This is very difficult for me because I am working in Gurgaon. How can I take it to Najafgarh from Baraut? My concern is that if there is any problem, then the local dealer should take the responsibility as he is a family of Honda.

In the past month my 2015 has had battery issues. Had to get car jumped a total of six/seven times in one month. Took car to Honda service department to have diagnostic. Per customer service battery is good and cant get proper reading if car is jumped. Advised to have car towed in if this problem occurs again. Little upset because I have little children and would never want to be stranded with my children do to their safety. Called corporate office, told them what happened. Made them aware that this is a safety issue. Referred me to case manager who told me that I would have to follow Honda service department suggestion and have car towed in. Next week car wouldnt start. Had car towed in to Honda who then did diagnostics and found battery was defective. Put new battery in car. Two days later (today), same thing car wouldnt start, Car towed back to dealership. Very Frustrating. Tried to get loaner and told all out and there was nothing they can do. Meantime losing money because hanging in Honda most of the day. Called corporate office and told them my dilemma and not being satisfied with service. Brushed me off and said that a case manager will return my call in 1 business day. Still no transportation to work. Not even reimbursement for rental. Not happy. Terrible customer support.

We bought a 2013 Honda Accord EX in Sept. 2013. We have been driving Honda vehicles since the early 1990s, and are fierce defenders of Honda quality. At least we had been. Our 4 cylinder Accord gets very good gas mileage: 39 mpg. average. It is extremely quiet, and the heavy doors remind me of the mercedes vehicles we used to own prior to the hondas. However, at 17,000 mi. we took the car to our local tire store to put on snow tires for the winter, and the guy noticed an oil leak. He didnt diagnose it correctly, but that didnt matter as it was under warranty, which led us to have it checked at the dealership in Albuquerque. They diagnosed a bad seal btw, the engine and transmission. They had to pull the engine to get to it and repair it. It was fixed, under warranty and at no expense, but I worry now about other weaknesses that may show their ugly head as the car gets older and goes off warranty. This one seal would have cost a thousand dollars to replace had we had to pay for it since the engine had to be pulled to access it. I have an 04 Element that now has 97,000 mi., and have not had a single problem or complaint with it. Maybe the older ones were better made, as I hear Honda is having numerous quality issues with newer cars. I think well try a different manufacturer next time, as no new car should need engine / transmission seals replaced so soon.

I am Raj ** and I am working in a private company. I purchased a new Honda bike to sell our house which is in Delhi. I purchased a Honda Shine from Race Honda Patpargani, New Delhi. Date of sale was August 14,2011. But it is not running straight on the road, there is a problem bubbling in my bike. I checked the bike the next day, August 15, 2011.In the showroom, they loose the screw of the handle and told me that my bike was okay. But the problem is the same. When I went back there the next day, August 17, 2011, I asked why is it having the same problem. The showroom manager told me that I should go to their workshop. So I went to the workshop on August 24, 2011 and met the workshop manager, Mr Ashwani **. He told me that the rear rim found the band because of the speed breaker and digs, he said they cannot do anything for me and I have to pay around Rs 3,700 for it. I was shocked when I heard it. Then I decided to complain to the Honda Bike Company. The telephone numbers are 2290911, 2290912, 2290913. I do not feel good about them, compared to other companys customer care. But after all that, one Honda engineer Mr. Umesh came, I was hoping he could help me. But he was so busy with his cellphone and he didnt listen to a single word I said, he just told me that my bike is not under warranty so I need to pay for the repair. The parking charge was Rs50 extra, so I was so unhappy that I asked him why do I have to pay for parking and a rim. Then he told me that I have purchased a Honda bike, and that he will not give me a favor. After all that, I think I took the wrong decision to purchase a Honda Shine. My bike is still in the workshop. What can I do now. Can I fire myself?

They refuse to return my money and I drove the car unsafely for a couple of months. I was basically called a liar by the Service Manager 12/17/21. Transmission of 2002 Accord fails April 2011 (at 23,000 miles). Cost is $1867 to fix plus towing. Another part of the transmission (TCC Solenoid) fails January 2012 (at 27,252 miles), costing $864 to replace. Responding for the second time to the summer 2011 Honda recall for an airbag repair—response number 1 in September 2011 and response number 2 in December 2011—I was asked to come on a specific day in January 2012 to have it repaired. I went but Superior Honda of N.O. did not have the part. When they got the part and fixed it they told me that the OPDS sensor needed repair and I had no airbag coverage at all. I learned later that this problem was under warranty until one day before the repair was made. This was only $300, not the $3,000 transmission fiasco (including a guess at towing cost). I think Superior should extend the warranty one day since if they responded properly to the September request or had the part for the recall work, the OPDS sensor would have been under extended warranty (Spring 2006 letter from Honda).

I own a 2008 Honda Ridgeline that is at about 60,000 miles. I have taken especially good care of this vehicle with regular maintenance updates. Overall, other than the poor gas mileage (best is 20 mpg on highway), it has been a good vehicle. The problem is that two exhaust sensors have had to be replaced already at a cost almost $1,000.00, not to mention waiting at the Wilde Honda Dealership in Sarasota, Florida for many hours at a time. I cant imagine why the sensors have gone out already, and the incredible costs they have incurred. Honda has a reputation for build quality. They just apologize 10,000 times and then want to go about their way. My car isnt covered under the warranty for paint. For reasons I dont even understand. I have an 09 Civic. The paint is starting to deteriorate. It looks like someone literally took a scrub brush to my car and is in the beginning stages of my paint chalking. This is a 7-year-old car. Ive seen cars that are 15 years old that have better paint jobs than mine and they have been untouched. The only okay thing about my Honda is that it hasnt broken down on the side of the road yet. American Honda is the biggest joke of a company and so unwilling to help people. The issue needs to be pushed. My car is Crystal Black Pearl. I know its one of the color codes accepted for the repaint but my VIN isnt under the warranty nor did I get a letter. (I am not the original owner of this car.) Im more than displeased. They look cheaper and cheaper every year.

I came for oil change and tire rotation on 9/23. After the services were performed, as soon as I went out, the check tire symbol came on my dashboard. This morning, I came to the dealer again and they took the van. After an hour, they said they fixed it. After riding 2-3 miles again, the check tires symbol came up. I again drove back to the dealer and they said the tire has to be replaced now. There was absolutely no problem with my van when I came yesterday for oil change and tire rotation. If there was a problem, they should have caught the problem on my 2 visits (within 7 hours). If I have to come 3 times in a span of 18 hours to a Honda dealer, what quality of service the dealer is providing?

I am very pleased with my new Honda Clarity. I am still learning its features and sometimes feel stymied. The range is terrific, it charges in 2.5 hours and it handles very well.

I purchased a brand new 2014 Honda Civic Ex this year. It now has 20,000 km on it and lets just say dont believe what you read when Honda tells you youll get exceptional fuel mileage. I dont even get good mileage. On average my fuel light comes on before it even hits 350 km. Right now my tank is sitting at 1/8 and theres 286 km on it. Ill be lucky if I hit 350 km. Ive contacted honda multiple times and no help whatsoever. I purchased this vehicle for fuel mileage as I had a Chevy Tahoe prior to. I got better mileage on my truck than I do this car. I will never purchase another honda ever again. I am trying to get rid of this one now and very displeased with how Honda has treated the whole situation.

For the last two days I have been on the phone with Honda Customer Service trying to get a loaner vehicle until the replacement airbags involved with the recall come in. I was just told it could be a week or more before Honda made a decision to approve a loaner vehicle for my wife and I. Their advice was to have my wife ride in the back seat for a couple of months till the new airbags were available (unbelievable)!!! This is a very serious issue as the airbag could explode, even without any vehicle impact, and send metal fragments flying into the passenger compartment. Very disappointed with the lack of concern expressed by Honda and their disregard for the safety of their customers.

Love the Honda engine and ergonomics of the rider position. Replacement parts are very costly, but the quality of the build is outstanding. Overall a very reliable bike. Honda offers many models, but they will only sell them if the volume is sufficient. For example, the Honda ST 1300 is no longer sold in the United States but it is in Europe.
