My 2004 Honda Accord Coupe started jerking at 78,000 miles. I had someone look at it who is a mechanic for the FBI. He said there was very little transmission fluid in the car and that was unusual. Two weeks after he put in transmission fluid, I was alone in the city and my car would not go into reverse. I panicked and called this man who recommended a transmission place. The cost was $2,550 to have the work done. I am a single mom and had to rent a car for the week it took to replace the transmission. This cost an additional $200. I looked up Honda car problems and this is a common problem with my car. I called Honda and they said that my VIN was not a car that was documented as having a problem. I have since had the car repaired and it still doesnt feel quite right. The transmission company asked if I would bring the car back in three weeks, so that they can check that everything is working properly.

I purchased my Honda because I needed an SUV that would accommodate my four children. I needed three rows of seats which this vehicle does have. Its pretty good on gas. Its all wheel drive and it just drives really smooth. I love it. My SUV have leather seats and since I bought this vehicle used and it was not taken care of good enough so there are cracking in spots in the leather seats.

I am driving a HONDA MOBILIO Car in INDIA which was bought by me on 2015. On 16/11/2015 in Chennai we had heavy rain and we drove this car to court as an emergency case. But all of a sudden the car engine has stopped by itself without any reasons. Then we towed our car to the dealer in Chennai for an inspection. The service engineer told us that the rain water has entered in Engine. We all surprised to hear that. Is it possible? And we had a doubt that these HONDA cars are not suitable for rainy seasons. IF the water gets into an engine it is purely manufacturing defect. But the dealers is looking for an insurance person to change some spares. No one has intended to file a complaint in HONDA. We are not ready to accept this car by changing some spares. It will affect the home setting of the car. My question is this. Will HONDA replace our entire car if it a manufacturing defect? We have noticed that about ten cars are in dealers garage. We have discussed with HONDA dealer for the replacement. But no response from them. We wish HONDA manufacturer should intervene with dealer to replace the entire car. In other words HONDA should declare our cars are not suitable for rainy conditions. Such a surprise from the dealers. They are not ready to escalate this issue to manufacturer. They are looking for an insurance people to cover the cost. We need response from HONDA manufacturer to solve this issue.

I bought my Honda CRV in August 2015. For health reasons, the vehicle was not driven a lot for about a year. Now it has 21,000 miles on it and needs to have the brakes and rotors replaced. I have always owned a Honda and NEVER had to replace brakes, even after four years. This is ridiculous. I am told this is what happens with Honda CRVs (like that makes it ok). I will not buy another CRV when it is a known issue that brake pads wear out so quickly. I heard I will have to replace rear brake pads three times before I ever have to do the front. PISSED.

Have been a Honda owner all of my life. The last two Hondas, a 2010 Hybrid Insight and a 2013 Civic, had batteries die at two years old with mileage under 20,000. I am very concerned. I feel their quality has gone down. Do not get me wrong, their service is outstanding. The batteries were replaced in both instances with no hassle and no cost because they were under warranty. However I am deeply concerned. Another month and I wouldve been stranded in ice and snow with no heater. Thank God it was caught when it was. Looking online I see I am not the only person with this complaint. I also feel the interiors are more plastic and not as lux as they used to be. After five Hondas, I think I am going to make a switch the next time I am ready to buy a car. Again service outstanding, quality of car has gone downhill.

My wife and I, along with our grandchildren, were placed in a very life threatening situation on several occasions with vehicle stalling in heavy high-speed traffic. The ignition switch failed, but turned out to be a very expensive diagnosis and repair, $2,350.19 to be exact. When I found out there had been a recall, I contacted Honda for reimbursement, but to no avail. They mailed me a check for the cost of the switch. No letter of explanation as to why they refused to not pay for the total repair bill. I find this to be very appalling for a company not to respond to a customers complaint of a safety recall.

Sales department uses delay tactics to go through the process of purchasing a vehicle. Finance department tries to fiddle with numbers and charge for items that are optional...which they dont tell you until the very end, (e.g. 300 insurance fee, which is really an optional documentation fee). Service department confirms issues but does nothing about them. They lie about what was done or not done and use subjective tests to say that nothing is wrong even though a documented 3rd party assessment indicates otherwise. Do not recommend purchasing or servicing a vehicle from Richmond Honda in BC.

I purchased a brand new 2010 Honda Accord from Elk Grove Honda last year. Recently I heard a grinding noise just before I started the engine. I took my car to Elk Grove Honda for repair and was told they already knew a lot of Honda Accords have this problem. They will not repair it as this is how the Honda engineers design it and I should turn my ignition key very fast in order to ignore this noise. I did some research and found out this problem is caused by the bad VTC actuator in many of the Honda Accord model. The Elk Grove Honda still refused to repair my defective car even it is still under warranty.

Owned a Harley full dresser for many years. It was fun to ride but maintenance was a bear, constantly repairing, tightening bolts, hard starting so finally parked it and bought a Honda. Rode the Honda for several years then parked it for lengthy time. Eventually pulled it out of the corner, charged the battery, put fuel in it and it took off on the second try. Very little maintenance needed and more than got my moneys worth out of it. Eventually sold it moved to the mountains and took up riding horses.

I have complained for over a year to our local Honda Dealer concerning the dust that clings to the inside of the vehicle. The district manager was asked to look at it, and he could not see how the dust/dirt was entering the interior except around the door seals. The best they could do locally was to give me the customer service # for Honda Corporation. They gave me a case # and said they would call. 3 weeks later they called and said SORRY but there was nothing they would be willing to do. My husband and I have allergies that have escalated immensely. We have pictures and they also took pictures here in Helena at the dealership.

I bought a new 2013 Honda Ridgeline at a dealership. Once I hit 1200 miles, the vehicle would not start after sitting for one or more days. I took it to the Honda dealership that I purchased it at in Uniontown, PA and was told nothing was wrong. One week later, the problem happened again and I again took back to the Honda dealer in Uniontown. Once again I was told they could not find the issue. The not starting had occurred approximately 5 more times. On the fifth time, I called the dealer and Honda customer service. I was told to have the vehicle towed at my expense and it was suggested that I was making the issue up and that I may be experiencing buyers remorse. Honda customer service advised me to take it to a different Honda dealer since I was unhappy with the outcome. I obliged and took the Ridgeline to the second dealer to be told that I had a defective battery. The battery was replaced and I went on my way. Two weeks later, the problem of the vehicle not starting happened again. I took the vehicle to the second dealer again. They ran a parasitic draw test and could not find the issue. They changed the battery again and sent me on my way. Three weeks later, the problem persisted and back to the Honda dealer. They said the battery, the third one, had been significantly drained and charged it. This did not fix the problem. When the problem persisted, I took the vehicle back to Honda. I asked the service manager to try something different because what they had been doing did not work. He stated that since the parasitic draw test could not find a draw on the battery that Honda would not authorize any additional test or repairs. I personally called the Honda customer service line and spoke with a regional rep who proceeded to tell me he did not have time to discuss. I asked for another representative and was told that there was not anyone else to speak to. I asked for his manager and explained that I had plenty of questions that I would like answers to. He told me that he did not have a supervisor. I questioned him on this, doubting his integrity, until he confirmed that he did have a supervisor, but he would not connect me to her or give me her direct contact information. I then asked what steps he was going to take to help me. He said that he was going to contact the service manager at Honda and discuss. I requested a conference call with the three of us and he said that he did not have the capabilities to do so. I advised that my cell phone had these capabilities and I would do the call from my end. At this point, he agreed to do the conference call from his end. He proceeded to tell the service manager that I would be bringing the Ridgeline in the next day, which all three of us had already known, got a bad attitude, said he was done with this, and disconnected the line. The next day I received a call from an unavailable number that turned out to be a different regional manager from Honda. This person proceeded to tell me that I had to work with the original regional manager and vaguely gave me answers to the five or six inquiries that I had. I asked if if I could have a different case manager because the first one was deceitful and she advised that she did not feel that he had lied on three different occasions and that I had to work with him. My vehicle is currently at the dealership and I am awaiting the outcome. I have record of my Honda Ridgeline being at the Honda garage on 11 occasions for the same issue. I also have notated dates on 8 other instances when the vehicle did not start that I did not take it to the shop. Needless to say, I am very unhappy with Honda, the dealership in Uniontown, PA, and the Honda customer service department. The service manager at that second dealership in Richeyville, PA has been very nice and empathetic to me, and has stated that he is doing everything in his power to help me, but his hand seem to be tied back to Honda for he cannot do any repairs without the proper authorizations.

I brought my leased HRV -- 21,000 miles and under warranty—into Ocean Honda, Ventura, CA. The airbag light had come on. I was told it was rodent damage. The repair is not covered under warranty and the charge is $2,200! This is exploitation! A simple google search shows that since Honda and Toyota changed to soy-based materials, rodent damage has increased exponentially. Honda is not standing by their manufacturing decisions. I did not make the choice of materials to protect the very critical electrical system, Honda did. I feel so taken advantage of; I dont feel as if I can trust Honda ever again. Honda put out a statement that their solution is the rodent tape - ha! I called to see about buying a roll and the charge from Honda is $79! And how am I, an elderly person, going to wrap the car’s electrical wiring myself! That is outrageous. Not only is Honda not fixing the problem under warranty but is charging me outrageous prices to repair and prevent further problems. This is simply not acceptable when consumers have other choices in the market. I will not be silent about this issue and I hope others who find themselves in this position also voice their experiences and frustration. Honda was once considered a prestigious car maker. This is oh so disappointing and frustrating. If I could afford this expense, I would have a larger car and purchased, not leased. This is something like 10 lease payment for me to repair, no fault of my own. I live in a suburb, not out in the rural countryside. This is exploitative to say the least. Honda needs to step up and stand behind their product.

Certified used warranty is a scam. Honda sold me a certified used vehicle under their program that guarantees a 151-point inspection. Right out of the dealership, the car had a burnt accessory fuse, missing tire change tools, and garbage in the spare tire well under the trunk. This leads me to believe they did not check all the fuses and they did not check to see if a spare tire was even included with the vehicle, let alone properly inflated. They did not offer compensation for failing to check these points in their original inspection and they did not agree to perform another 151-point inspection at my request. It is now 14 months after I purchased the vehicle and only about 8,000-9,000 miles on the car from since we bought it. The power steering pump had a major failure; repair is quoted at $740.01. They refuse to repair the vehicle at no cost since non-powertrain warranty only covers 12-months/12,000 miles. I would typically accept this response, but I feel as if the car was never fully inspected like they advertised. A power steering pump should not have a major failure after 8,000-9,000 miles. I should not have this much difficulty explaining my frustration to Honda, a company that prides itself on reliable cars and helpful people, especially with such low mileage on the vehicle.

The steering on my Honda hybrid failed while driving 55mph. When the car was taken to dealer in Eugene, we were told Honda was aware of this problem but had not notified anyone. They refused to pay for repair because they said mileage over warranty - a warranty they never informed us about. Their explanation is that if you bring auto in with steering issue, then they would inform you of the issue. Honda allowed car rentals for the driver side airbag recall due to exploding metal fragments injuring and killing individuals. It states in the recall that it can do that to the driver and others in the cab. Honda will not allow car rentals for the passenger side airbags and tell you just to not seat in the passenger seat. It has been asked of Honda if there was a chance that it might deploy if hit in front of car. No answer. I then ask American Honda Customer Service to send me something in writing that it will not deploy and I am not gambling with hurting myself or others in the back seat. They will not.I called Russell Honda in North Little Rock, AR and I am told that they could not sign anything either because he was not sure or that it could be possible that the sensor could be signaled. Then you start the customer service case manager and they put you to the fast track and never hear from them again and no answers. So I am to gamble and drive my vehicle until that part comes in and cross my fingers. I am not a good gambler. So Honda I believe needs to stand up and be responsible and allow for loaner cars until they fix this problem.

Every time I put the handbrake on incline, nothing happens. I told them about this. I took the car to another garage for MOT, it failed on rear brakes. I went to the dealer and showed them the report. They refused to do anything. I paid for repairs myself, returned to the dealer with the bill and asked to see the owner. The staff member refused to get him and was rather intimidating and aggressive. The repairs showed the rear calipers were not working, only one pad was contacting with the disc, so I was driving a dangerous car. I would like something done before I take matters further. The car (2012 Honda Civic) is 3 months old and I have always owned Hondas and love them until now. I was stranded and called AAA for a jump twice. I visited the dealer and they could not find anything wrong and said I must have left the lights on which is very insulting. First of all, I dont drive at night. The lights were set to auto on (which may have been the problem). Second, I know when lights are on; I can see the headlights. When visiting another car repair place, they noticed the battery was reading 12.5 when it should have been in the 13 to 14 range. So maybe the alternator wasnt giving the battery enough juice or something was draining the battery. The display screen read ABS system and VSA system and all indicator lights were on while trying to start. No other indicator lights ever came on. I dont want to be stranded again and the dealer was insulting. Any ideas?

I bought a 2013 Honda CRV. The battery would drain after 2-3 days of sitting idle. I got it checked repeatedly at the Honda service department when I bought the vehicle. They kept saying the parasitic draw was within specification, and to disconnect the battery cables if it was going to sit for more than 2 days. So each time I park the car on a Sunday and dont move again until Friday (I walk to work), I have to disconnect the cables, or use a solar charger (I park underground heated parking at my condo). They said it was fine and just to drive it more, for 1.5 hrs at a time every couple days to charge up the battery. Ridiculous! I own two other vehicles (different brands) and they can sit for a couple weeks and start no problem. Never had this before, and have since heard it is common on Hondas. I traded it in for a different vehicle and will never buy a Honda again. Honda Canada customer department refused to acknowledge the problem, as did the dealership.

Leasing 2014 Honda Accord Sport. Less than 36 mos, under 17K miles and the paint is peeling around the rear window. Honda says that is NOT covered under their warranty. Honda has a long history of paint peeling all over their cars and, actually, had a class action suit against them for earlier cars (up to 2013, figures). Paint should not be peeling like this.

I purchased my first car, a Honda Civic Ex 2009, back in May 2009. I loved this car, until it started giving me troubles. Before the 60K, they have already replaced the motor brackets, the battery, and the TPMS sensors (4 times). Yes, the TPMS sensors have been replaced 4 times in the last 3 months. Last month, I had a flat tire; and no light came on. I stopped due to a strange noise and realized that I had a flat. I contacted the dealer, and they said the light does not come on until you driven over 28MPH. Well, I left it like, I drove it for a couple miles, and the light came back on. I figure it needed air pressure. After a few miles, the light came back off. The dealer had already replaced the sensor 4 times before this, and again, the TPMS sensor light came back on again yesterday. I contacted the dealer to explain to them about the situation, and they said they wanted me to bring in the vehicle for check-up. I scheduled an appointment. I also contacted Honda headquarters (for the second time) and spoke to Mohammed. I told him about the situation I was going through, and he asked me what should I expect from Honda. I told him that at this point, I was so regretful that I purchased a vehicle that was broken from the beginning, that the vehicle is non fixable, and that I wanted to return it. He said that I needed to go back to the dealer and return the vehicle. I did not like his attitude; he did not even try to resolve this issue. He said if I had already made up my mind, then I should go ahead and return the vehicle. I mean, if Im paying for this car, the least that Honda should do for me is a replacement. Shouldnt I? Well, Honda, the least that you can do at this time is give a replacement vehicle or the money that I have paid you for this piece of crap! I will like you to do this before I take matters further. At this point, I am tired of having to drive an unsafe and broken vehicle made from you, Honda. I am tired of going back to dealers to get the car fixed. I am tired of you, Honda, not paying attention to your customers! If you do not resolve this issue, I promise that I will no longer ever in my life purchase another vehicle made from Honda or its affiliates. And Im only 24. Guess how many cars I would buy from now until I cant drive anymore!

I bought a brand new Honda Accord SE in July 2002. At 38000 miles, the transmission leaked fluid. The warranty covers only $36,000. After I talked to the manager of the dealership (transmission should last for only 38,000 miles), I paid 500.00 labor fee to install a re-manufactured transmission. At 71,000, the transmission failed again. I got a free replacement from the dealer. Now at 120,000, the transmission was repaired, but it failed again. One Honda with four transmission! What kind of cars Honda is providing to the consumers? Does Honda know anything about Six Sigma quality standard? By Six Sigma, there are supposedly no more than 4 bad cars for every 1,000,000 cars. I am completely disappointed in the quality of Honda Accord cars.

The Honda CB 1100 EX is one such bike that I had no intention to buy. It was all when I came across this beautifully designed retro-styled beast at my friend’s house when I decided to book a test drive of the same. Talking of the style of the bike, it is nothing less than a royal cruiser with styling that any 90’s kid would love. However, it’s only the looks that are old! In terms of its performance, engine, and functionality, the bike is a beast of the present. Simply love the bike!

We saw on the news one night that Honda would be recalling their CRV 2005 - 2007 for faulty driver side window door switches that could catch fire. Our window hadnt been working for a couple months, so I emailed our dealer and made an appointment to bring it in the next day. (BTW, I bought a new 2012 luxury edition CRV and gave my 2005 to my daughter.) The recall is not even being mailed to owners until the beginning of November! My daughter woke up at 4am to find the cars driver’s side door in flames, which quickly ignited the entire cab! The engine looks brand new and wasnt touched, but the car is a complete loss and devastating to look at, not to mention the emotional job it took on my daughter as she watched her car (and like a typical teen that lives out of their car, all her most prized possessions) go up in flames. When I called Honda (first shaking over the fire and then angry that I could have lost my child in this tragedy), they could not have cared any less. Many people told me to hire a lawyer including the service manager at the dealership where I bought both cars. He said Honda wont do anything and you will have to lawyer up. My husband and I talked and just need the insurance company to cover the car, and we are going through our homeowners policy for her more than $3,000 worth of personal property. The insurance agency is going after Honda for their reimbursement and said they will also attach the list of lost personal property for them to reimburse. Oh, one more thing, my 2012 Honda CRV also had a recall - not the driver’s door window switch but nonetheless ... Would I buy a Honda again? Toyota is looking mighty fine these days!

In addition, all the service schedules has been adhered to at the New Rochelle Honda Dealership that is closer to my home. I am happy with the performance of the vehicle otherwise, except at approximately 3,000 miles the entire steering assembly had to be replaced due to excessive power steering under steer (very stiff). The matter with the right front strut is unresolved and await your prompt and positive response in this important matter. Please allow me to quote an excerpt from one of your honda advertisement on the airways, After all this vehicle is a Honda

We bought a 2013 Honda Accord EX in Sept. 2013. We have been driving Honda vehicles since the early 1990s, and are fierce defenders of Honda quality. At least we had been. Our 4 cylinder Accord gets very good gas mileage: 39 mpg. average. It is extremely quiet, and the heavy doors remind me of the mercedes vehicles we used to own prior to the hondas. However, at 17,000 mi. we took the car to our local tire store to put on snow tires for the winter, and the guy noticed an oil leak. He didnt diagnose it correctly, but that didnt matter as it was under warranty, which led us to have it checked at the dealership in Albuquerque. They diagnosed a bad seal btw, the engine and transmission. They had to pull the engine to get to it and repair it. It was fixed, under warranty and at no expense, but I worry now about other weaknesses that may show their ugly head as the car gets older and goes off warranty. This one seal would have cost a thousand dollars to replace had we had to pay for it since the engine had to be pulled to access it. I have an 04 Element that now has 97,000 mi., and have not had a single problem or complaint with it. Maybe the older ones were better made, as I hear Honda is having numerous quality issues with newer cars. I think well try a different manufacturer next time, as no new car should need engine / transmission seals replaced so soon.

Deante ** was very rude and uncaring, Scott ** the Manager did not move out of his seat to help. They both were uncaring and did not try to rectify the problem. My car was there for 5 days, they never ordered the parts and the manager, supervisor or advisor did not contact me to tell me what the status was. 2009 Honda Odyssey purchased out right. From the very first day this van pulled slightly to the left and would on regular occasions pop the steering wheel right out of my hands. I took it to the dealer so many times I lost count. I even had it reported to the general manager for doing a service test drive on the van. They’re claiming nothing was wrong. Yet this would happen out of the blue and catch me off guard. I felt very unsafe in this van and they would not trade it or swap it out. I now wonder if I had financed it if they would have paid better attention. The consequences were I got fed up with Saratoga Honda messing me around. The van spent more time there than in my possession, so I traded it for a Hyundai and have had zero issues. In fact the service department in Queensbury, NY is far better than Honda in Saratoga. More polite more knowledgeable of their product and they treat me like a human being not an empty-headed female which is the way I felt I was being treated in Saratoga. No more business from me. I would highly advise against ever purchasing a Honda vehicle as they have very sketchy lease turn in practices. My husband (a former Honda technician) and I turned in our 2 vehicles with the intent of purchasing 2 new Hondas, however they did not have any good deals going on so we chose to go with another brand. A month after turning our vehicles in we received a letter stating we owe close to 400 dollars for what I would consider to be normal wear and tear on my husbands vehicle (one small dent on one of the doors, a small tear in the floor under the accelerator and a small crack in the windshield which had just been replaced a few month prior, and had they told us this we could have gotten it fixed free through our insurance.) Our person who sold us our new vehicles told us they are pissed because we didnt purchase Hondas again, oh well we would have if they were more willing to make a deal!Apparently on their website somewhere it says in fine print that before turning your vehicle in you can have your own inspection done. Who in their right mind would think to go looking for something like this, or even think that they would need to do this. Our vehicles sat on the lot where they were turned in for 11 days before they were inspected by someone from Honda, we did not turn them in with a crack in the windshield and dent in the door so this obviously happened while in their possession.Following a few letters from an attorney on our behalf acknowledging that we are willing to pay to replace the carpet (even though I feel it is normal wear and tear) but we feel the other things are not our responsibility, Honda sent the matter to a collection agency without even trying to remedy the situation. Honda did not even reach out to discuss this matter with us, they just dismissed it completely showing they dont really care about their customers being happy. Had this have been resolved in a better manner, in 3 years when our leases are up if they had good deals going on we would have gone back to Honda, however now we will NEVER purchase a Honda vehicle again. I will also advise anyone we know who is thinking about purchasing a Honda vehicle not to for the rest of my life!

2014 Honda CRV grinding noise - VTC Actuator issue - I bought my Honda CRV
2014 Honda CRV grinding noise - VTC Actuator issue - I bought my Honda CRV in mid-2013. By the time the car was 1 year old, with 10,000 miles, there was a grinding noise when I would start the car. The grinding noise lasts about 2 seconds. It has been into a Honda dealership several times. I was told Honda is working on a fix and that the problem would be addressed when the engineering department had the issue figured out. One year later (but still under warranty), the grinding noise is louder and longer than before, and happens almost every time I start the car. Upon doing some research, I learned that Honda has been installing the defective VTC actuator since 2008, in Accords. The defective actuator was also installed in 2012-2014 CRVs. It appears that Honda continued to use the defective actuator since 2008, yet customers are being told that a fix is in the works, 7 years later. American Honda has advised Honda service departments to not replace the actuator as it is likely that the replacement actuator will present the same grinding noise. A regional case manager also assured me that a fix was in the works but did not comment when I pointed out that Honda continued to use a defective part from 2008-2014. Honda repeatedly emphasizes that this is not a safety or performance issue, to which I have replied that is likely the reason it has been 7 years with no fix -- it is a low priority and Honda chooses to direct its engineering resources elsewhere. I am not sure why there has been no class action law suit to address this multi-year problem. Dealerships will not do anything as American Honda will not allow replacements to be made. This is my last Honda. Their way of doing business is horrendous. What I have now is a vehicle that definitely attracts attention (but not in a good way) when it is started as everyone in the vicinity gets to enjoy the grinding sound of metal-on-metal.

In this sea of negativity, keep in mind that this site is going to be skewed towards those coming here to complain about problems. Venting is understandable. Ive owned unreliable cars in the past. That being said, none of my problem cars have been Hondas. Ive owned Acuras and Hondas, and others in my family have Hondas as well and none of us have experienced problems at all. And were glad for that because thats the #1 reason we chose the manufacturer. Honda is KNOWN for reliability and low cost of ownership and their reputation is built on it. I purchased a 2007 Civic EX w/ Nav back in 2010. Got it for a great price and its been nothing but dead reliable. The only thing Ive had to do is brakes and new tires, all around at 75k miles. Otherwise, its been typical oil changes and fluid top offs. Ive taken the car from Texas to California and back on a road trip. Again, no problems. Im currently sitting at about 90k miles. The only real issue that I take is cosmetic. The front, passenger side fender/bumper, where the bumper meets the wheel well, always comes unhooked and pops out about a half an inch. I have to bump it back into place with the bottom of my fist from time to time. Thats really it. All the electronics work perfectly and it always starts and runs fine.

I leased a 21 passport with my husband last month from Honda. The sales team was great, price was good and team was friendly -unfortunately this car has some issues! I don’t blame the dealer. I blame the maker (Honda). Since we bought the car I have been driving it back and forth to work and with my son. After a car wash one day I had noticed rust behind the wheels. I told my husband about it he said it wasn’t like this when we bought it. About week later I started to notice a weird feeling when driving so I gave my husband the car to drive. After him driving it he feels it has some transmission issues. Between that and the rust he was super pissed. He contacted Honda hq and brought it for service. The manager was super helpful and nice my husband said but unfortunately after the visit the rep that came from hq told us the car is normal! I’m sorry rusty/not proper functioning transmission is not normal. I am very unhappy that I do not feel safe to drive this car and now every month I have to pay for something I can’t even get behind the wheel. My husbands friend has the 20 passport. No issues. No rust. No transmission problems. Why is this the issue with the 2021? Issues after a little over a month of ownership not a good look. Awful job Honda!!

I purchased my 2020 Honda CRV and immediately noticed a very loud static buzzing sound coming from my radio every time I drove by a radio or cell antenna tower. It is so loud that I can’t hear what is being said on the talk show. I took my 2020 Honda CRV into the Gunn Honda Service department and they tested the radio along with another new 2020 Honda CRV. Their conclusion was that the radio in all 2020 Honda CRVs makes a loud buzzing static sound when driving by a radio or cell tower. So they said they could not fix the radio and justified their decision by using the disclaimer that says that the radio may experience static noise. Even Honda Corporate refused to help. I have only bought Honda’s and none of the others ever had this problem. I would never have bought this car if they had told me about the radio problem upfront.

The car is fantastic, but has a lot of nickel and dime expenses. It gets incredibly costly, but is a good family vehicle overall. It does what we need it to do. I like that it has a lot of room and three row seating. When you have a lot of kids that have a lot of stuff, you need a lot of room for car seats and leg room. But I dislike that it gets so expensive to keep it maintained. A low maintenance car would be much easier on our growing family. We could spend more on family activities if we were spending less on the car.

I have a 2014 Honda Accord EX - current MILEAGE 38,000 miles. First let me review the product. My first experience has been with the XM radio antenna. The radio antenna is no longer working. The antenna went bad at 25,000 miles and after a Honda diagnostic, it is close to $350 repair. Ridiculous!!! Second, my display screen for my radio as well as special features and safety precautions randomly does not display when started. That has been an intermediate problem so I have not been able to diagnose. Finally and the last straw, my starter needs to be replaced in my car with only 38,000 miles. What??? I thought Honda are suppose to be reliable. It is going to cost me nearly $700 to replace the starter. This is ridiculous and the quality of my Honda product has not meet my minimal expectations. Now let me tell you about the horrid customer service I received at three different levels of this problem. First I contacted my local dealer, Heather Cannon Honda in Ponca City OK, for a diagnosis of the starting problem. After waiting for my car, that has been diagnosed for six hours now, there was absolutely no paperwork ready or prepared for me when I got there. After watching the guy circle around three times, I was again irritated with Honda. Long story short, the owner called me a left a hateful and extremely rude message in my phone. I will no longer step foot in that dealership, so now I have to travel a total of four hours to the dealership where I purchased the new Honda. So I called Battison Honda in Oklahoma City. After explaining my situation with a service assistant, he told me it was above his pay grade and couldn’t help me. Just to let you know, I told him that at the beginning of the conversation I wanted to speak to the service manager, he refused. What I was asking for was an acknowledgment that they would replace my starter at the same quote price as the Ponca location. I also asked for some considerations on the repair costs because I feel that a new starter, antenna and display at 38,000 is excessive and a company who believed in their products would support their loyal customers. The is not my first Honda but it will be my last. Now the service assistant told he that he would return my call or the service manager would return my call. That was over 48 hours ago and I have heard nothing from Battison Honda in OKC. Now it is the Thursday before a holiday weekend and I have no car. I sure all these people at Honda a car that works, so they don’t care. During this time, I had sent a customer concern to Honda Motor Company. They said it was out of warranty and too bad, basically. I resent a response and someone from American Honda Motor Company was suppose to get back to me. Someone actually called and ironically enough, I was outside receiving my car from the tow truck it was attached to to get it home because it wouldn’t start. I returned her call immediately and have not received a call back. That was over 24 hours ago. The Honda techs name was Belinda and her ext is **. That is just for the Honda people’s info to follow up this string of horrid customer service practices. I am on a limited income and some consideration for the poor quality product I purchased would be very helpful. However, I can’t get anyone to even contact me back. All I can do is refuse to buy another Honda and tell others of my experience and hope they can make a more informed consumer choice.I do know the ugly manner in which Heather Cannon Honda of Ponca City OK has handled a customer has lost at least one Honda sale for her. (Not mine, another who I allowed to hear her message.) I am so unhappy with this Honda and Honda customer service that I hope this costs them a few more sales. Maybe then, they will make customer service a priority.

They never knew what the problem was nor did they hear a noise (lies). But now since I’m almost done (1 payment left) with paying off my car, and my warranty is over (bingo) we know what the problem is and it’s gonna cost ya! American Honda is garbage. They have an advisory to avoid having a passenger sit in the front passengers seat until the recall repair has been performed. However, they make no mention of the drivers side airbag. I am sure the warning applies to both but they dont mention that. One, they should be honest about driving the car until it is repaired and two, they should also do it as soon as possible, and three, make arrangements for the owners to have a safe car to drive until it can be repaired.

Following this, the horn, headlight dipper, and the indicators all stopped working. We had to take the vehicle to the service station several number of times. The Sudarshan Motors Service Station in Nagpur charged the battery 6-7 times and replaced it twice, yet the problem remains. The people at the service station are clueless and very rude. I recently received a recall notice for a new Honda SXS we purchased. The recall was for a safety issue related to the steering joint assembly. They say they will repair it free of charge. Keep in mind, upon receipt of this notice it is no longer safe to operate the vehicle until an inspection/repair is performed. Thus, rendering the vehicle unusable. The local dealer wants to charge to come pickup the unit or the owner must bring the unit to the dealer for the inspection/repair. Due to COVID-19 we decided to go with the first option. However, thats an additional $100-$150 charge from the dealer for a problem that Honda created! Asked American Honda is they would reimburse and they decided to recite the warranty which exempts them from paying for the transportation. Under normal circumstances this would be acceptable, however, due to COVID one would think they would make an exception and do the right thing for a lifelong customer. NOPE! There are simply too many choices out there when it comes to vehicles and too many other companies willing to do the right thing. Honda will never see my business again and I would recommend anyone looking for a Honda to reconsider and go with a more customer oriented organization that would be more deserving of your business.

Upon leaving the house a couple months ago, loading the kids in the car then, bam, the back passenger door falls, breaking the cable and damaging the fender in the process. Calls to Honda make it apparent they do not plan to do anything for a design flaw causing a safety concern for my kids who ride right next to this door. The repair from them is in excess of $1500! Then we are loading up today and bam, second back slider cable breaks! Now this door has our 6 month old baby right next to it! This is our only family vehicle, and to put icing on the cake, the sole provider for the family is off work for a back injury! Honda refuses to pony up and assist with issues despite calls asking why our 4 year old car is falling apart, their answers, normal wear and tear is not covered and we will have to foot the bill entirely on our own! Honda quality is nothing what it used to be and their customer service and support is laughable. My previous Honda 2001 went through to 107,000 miles with only a loose transmission fluid hose. Amazing! This is not the case with my 2007 EX-L V6. The car was in four (4) repairs while on warranty! It had bad leather finish sticking out, rattle in rear door due to bad hinge, bad front brakes pulsating, complete failure of the whole AC system (the car was in repair almost two weeks for that one alone). Disgusting quality! Now, I did notice when the car was nearing the warranty end, I heard front cooling fans running long after the car shutdown. I got concerned and disconnected the fan wire and connected again, and the problem went away. A few weeks ago, my battery died. I put a new battery. I just noticed that my fan keeps running again for hours when the car is off. Turns out, there is something going on with relays. I am looking forward to dump this lemon as soon as I have enough money. I am not going back to Honda and I am educating everyone how bad Honda quality has become.

My name is Latifah, 55, mother of four, from Malaysia. I am a Honda Civic Hybrid owner. I would assume that with all the recent hype behind the Class Action lawsuit against Honda in the U.S. on grounds of cheating mileage claim and also Heather ** vs. American Honda, Inc. case at California Small Claims Court, you would have probably guessed where my story is heading. Well, to cut a long story short, my Honda Civic Hybrids IMA battery went kaput after a year and ten months of owning it from brand new. My HCH is one of the earlier Hybrids to be purchased in this country. I am not so fussed about the failed technology part of it as this can happen to the very best of us, but I am very concerned and terribly upset about how Honda ridiculed and humiliated a customer who is an early adopter of their Hybrid technology. Instead of helping me out with a technology that they admit is still in its infancy, the company decided to make an example of me, a caution to all and any hybrid buyers, that there is no sympathy from Honda if the expensive IMA battery fails. My initial request to Honda was for a straightforward battery replacement, but they refused, insisting that the fault with the car occurred outside of the warranty period. Having exhausted all avenues of communication with the company, including writing directly to the CEO and receiving no evidence of customer care, we had no choice but to seek compensation through the Malaysian Consumer Tribunal late last year. Even at this point, Honda refused to make an offer for reasonable battery replacement, but instead came up with nonsense terms and warranty which I rejected. The Consumer Tribunal Court here disallow lawyers to represent parties in order to keep cost to a minimum and give access to everyone, and without the benefit of fancy legal jargon to defend themselves against my simple statement of facts, Honda lost. To put it simply, the tribunal found that Honda and the dealer that sold me the car was unable to defend their false advertising that claim of 10-12 years lifespan for the IMA battery. The tribunal ordered them to pay me back an equivalent of US$7,000 in compensation. Just like in Heather **’s case, Honda in Malaysia appealed for a judicial review at the High Court shortly after. I can only release the Consumer Tribunal Grounds for Judgment here as my High Court case is still active. After plenty of spinning and hair splitting by their lawyers, it seems like Honda may get their way after all through the legal channel of this country. But I will have to wait for the verdict to be released 27th of this month. Yes, my story does sound like another typical narration of a victim of corporate fraud who then gets away with it because they can afford expensive lawyers who will do anything to get their clients off the hook. The reason why I am writing this is to seek help from International Media to actually cover my story. My story is minimally picked up by the media here, especially the motoring media as most of them are in the pocket of Hondas advertising department. I wrote to the authority and government agency here, but no one seems to be interested to entertain my complaints either. Meanwhile, Honda enjoys maximum advertising coverage for their Hybrid range by bringing in more Hybrid cars here due to tax incentives. The victim, the public here then blindly buys a Honda Hybrid without knowing that Honda will turn on them once the dirt hits the fan. This is not about my loss anymore; this is about principles and my rights as a customer. If this was back in the days of glorious Japanese industrial standards and discipline, nothing less of Hara-kiri would be expected from Hondas CEO if a blunder like this were to take place. Today, they can pat each other on the back congratulating on their sales success for their infamous fraudulent green car. Hope this finds you well. I am more than happy to answer any questions and I will be grateful with any help that I can get.

I recently used the Honda roadside service and wanted to file a complaint. The driver was extremely unprofessional and gives Honda a negative reputation. The driver picked up my vehicle and me. This included picking up his two kids from summer school and having them sit in the front seat with me and himself and then waiting at his home for his wife to show up and look after them while I am in the tow truck. We finally left for the destination one hour and a half later. On October 10, 2017 I had my vehicle in for service with what seemed to be a miss-firing engine. My Service Advisor was Eric **. Mr. ** told me that sediment had accumulated in the bottom of the fuel tank and that they had cleaned it out. After this I began having trouble filling the tank with gas because the pump handle kept disengaging. The car was also running poorly and finally about two weeks later I could not accelerate above 25 miles per hour. At this point I took the car to another car repair shop close to my place of employment (A & M Auto Shop in Jersey City). The owner called and asked me to come down to the shop to see what he had discovered. He had begun to flush out the fuel line and found part of a rag lodged in the pipe. He dropped the fuel tank in order to remove the rest of the fabric and then also found the fingers of a plastic glove sitting inside the small enclosure to the fuel pump. Inside of the gas tank was a wipe rag which had shed particles throughout the inside of the tank. After A & M removed the rag and glove, the car ran well for a while but the mechanic told me that he couldnt tell how much damage had been done to the fuel pump as a result of all the particles (from the rag) that had been sucked into the pump. We do not use this car extensively but planned to take it on a trip to Williamsburg, Virginia in April, 2018. While driving through Washington DC, we noticed a burning smell and the car would not accelerate above 20 miles per hour. We pulled into a Firestone Auto Care Center in Springfield, VA on Saturday afternoon around 4:40 pm. Since the store was closed on Sunday, they could not service the car until Monday morning and we had to pay for two nights in a hotel. On Monday, the Firestone mechanic suggested replacing the catalytic converter. He did so but the problem remained the same. Firestone did not charge for the service since the problem was not fixed. They suggested that we take the car to a nearby Honda dealer. We had the car towed to the Honda dealer who could not service the car until the next day. At this point we had to pay for another nights stay in a hotel. The next day, the dealer informed us that the fuel pump had failed and must be replaced. On our way home from Virginia, the car again began running rough. I have not driven the car since then. I believe that these problems can all be traced to the particles from the rag which corrupted the fuel system. At this point, the car still does not run properly. Since the rag and glove originated in your shop, I am asking that you restore my car to good working order at no additional charge and reimburse me for my expenses thus far -- $2158 (A&M - $475, three nights in the Wingate Hotel - $719, and Virginia Honda - $964). I have the rag and glove that was found in the fuel pump tank as well as video of these items being removed by the A & M mechanic who is willing to attest to what he found. Please contact me on ** so we can resolve this matter. I look forward to hearing from you.

3 years ago I bought a used Honda Civic from Honda of Seattle. I am the 2nd owner of the car, it had a clean Carfax, and low miles, 36100 when I bought it. So, for a car like this, I paid a high price, about $12000 after finishing paying my car loan. I recently noticed a coolant leak under my car and a couple of days later I brought it in to Honda of Bellevue for an inspection. A day later they told me that my engine block is cracked and forgot to mention that this is in fact a manufacturer defect, that HONDA admitted and for several times increased the warranty up to 10 years. They insulted me, offering me a $300 cash for the car, or to repair it for about $10000 just for labor - engine not included!I contacted Honda corporation and both dealerships here in Seattle area, they are all trying to wash their hands and not admitting to the fact that this is a MANUFACTURING DEFECT! They said, that they dont have maintenance history since I bought it. I bought this car in good faith, from a reputable dealership, thinking that it will serve me for many years if I treat it well, change oil and filters in time, which I DID! But I dont think its my fault they tried to cut corners to make the car cheaper and then realized that they messed up.All 2006 to 2009 Civics are in the position to have this issues at one point. For me it happened at 65k miles for others at 19k. Whatever the mileage, it will ALWAYS BE a MANUFACTURER DEFECT and HONDA should have the decency to warranty every person that bought this car, regardless of mileage and not just for 10 years. So, next time youre thinking to go to a Honda Dealership, to buy a car, thinking they are there for their clients...think twice. They are there to sell you a car, not to support you when you have a problem with it. Im very disappointed in HONDAs dealership dismissing attitude and lack of care in giving their clients the support they need when needed!

We are leasing a brand new Honda Accord - 5 months old. The paint bubbles up all over the hood and sides of car - after bubbling up, it will chip off - then it appears as stone chips as we were told by Honda managers. We waited for over 3 weeks for a response... Stone does not cause paint to bubble up and chip off. Pictures have been taken, but does not show the real thing. A visual inspection was made by one Honda district manager and owner of dealership - it was wrote off as stone chips. Its horrible - all over the front. Our 2003 Honda Accord was in better condition than our new one. The customer representative 3,000 miles away from Honda had her mind made up along with Honda reps before it was even investigated. Next step - go to a professional collision/paint representative for our own assessment - legal counseling? We dont know... but we will not give up. Its a lot of money to spend leasing a brand new car and have the paint chip off. Stones do NOT cause bubbling of paint!! We are totally done with Honda - we always swore by Honda... Now we cant wait till our lease is up!! We were told paint chips arent covered by warranty... which we understand... but this is paint chipping off and bubbling up of paint... The paint actually lifts up and then chips off... Pictures do not show the significance of the problem.

I just received my 2018 Honda Accord a week ago, drove the car 300 miles and transmission needs to be replaced. Honda corporate wont give me a new car and gave me a bunch of lame excuses. I paid $35000 for a brand new car and dont want a car that is already messed up! Local dealership agrees with me but they are not the decision makers but I have been told by others that the dealership could make this decision and do the right thing for the customer. This is my second Honda car but will certainly be the last one! I will take to every social media site possible to express my extreme displeasure as well as the local TV stations.
