We are leasing a brand new Honda Accord - 5 months old. The paint bubbles up all over the hood and sides of car - after bubbling up, it will chip off - then it appears as stone chips as we were told by Honda managers. We waited for over 3 weeks for a response... Stone does not cause paint to bubble up and chip off. Pictures have been taken, but does not show the real thing. A visual inspection was made by one Honda district manager and owner of dealership - it was wrote off as stone chips. Its horrible - all over the front. Our 2003 Honda Accord was in better condition than our new one. The customer representative 3,000 miles away from Honda had her mind made up along with Honda reps before it was even investigated. Next step - go to a professional collision/paint representative for our own assessment - legal counseling? We dont know... but we will not give up. Its a lot of money to spend leasing a brand new car and have the paint chip off. Stones do NOT cause bubbling of paint!! We are totally done with Honda - we always swore by Honda... Now we cant wait till our lease is up!! We were told paint chips arent covered by warranty... which we understand... but this is paint chipping off and bubbling up of paint... The paint actually lifts up and then chips off... Pictures do not show the significance of the problem.

My mechanic noted that there was something wrong with my CVT automatic transmission around 35K miles and recommended I take it into the dealer asap, which I did. After a number of visits and a lot of runaround, they rebuilt the transmission. At around 75K, it started showing signs of failure again, and unfortunately, this time I delayed until it had around 95K on it, thinking the extended 100,000 mile warranty on just this problem would cover it. No such luck, since it was 100K or 7 years, and as an early adopter buying the car in the fall of 2002, I was 1 or 2 months beyond the 7 yr limit. The dealer offered me no hope and backed that up by getting me rejection from the regional manager. Calls to American Honda fell on equally deaf ears. Car shakes - violently on hills - when starting from stop since faulty transmission basically has no start up gear. Probably used a plastic motorcycle part or something, who knows. Bottom line is, after driving this piece of junk that never got close to the advertised mileage, I regret ever buying a Honda and never will again. I know some, maybe most of their cars, are fine. Then again, I have friends with an Odyssey that had a similar problem with transmission failure 2x under 100K. Never again. Dont buy Honda, simply because they choose to not stand behind their products. Too bad - another corporation ruined by greed and short-sighted behavior. Im about ready to trade it in for $1,000 or whatever I can get and buy a new Ford Focus.

On Friday, January 11th, 2013, I left Massachusetts and drove up to New Brunswick, Canada which is about a 9-hour ride. Upon arrival that evening, I parked my car in the driveway and left it sit as usual overnight. Next morning, I unlocked the door and opened the drivers side to a smell of burnt plastic and smoke. Immediately, I noticed the dash info screen and GPS area was melted and realized my passenger side floor was burnt. The glove compartment was melted shut and all wiring was exposed. The windshield was completely smoked up and the ceiling too. I was immediately in touch with my local agent at the Herb Chambers Seekonk, Mass location and they were all pretty worried at the moment and requested that I buy a flight back to Mass, which I did with their approval and reimbursement authorization from Honda. My agent requested that I drop the car off at the local Honda dealership in New Brunswick and I returned back to Massachusetts the day after. My local Honda Herb Chambers has informed me that they will not help me and have requested that I return their loaner car which I also had to do.Remember that only 14 months ago I bought a brand new 2012 Honda Crosstour from them full warranty but they still have told me that I am on my own and that I have to deal with American Honda which has been a total nightmare. The car was shipped back on US ground and brought to Maine where the dept manager took a few pictures and looked over the damage but did not go in to the dash or look internally. I did contact this gentleman and asked him what he thought happened and he said that based on what he saw, it was clearly a faulty wire or condensation started fire due to the change in cold weather.I have since then tried to connect with several people at American Honda in Torrance, CA to try and help me and at least identify what really happened here but Honda has refused to help or further investigate or even acknowledge some sort of defect or internal issue with their brand new 2012 Honda Crosstour. This totally boggles my mind how a corporation like Honda could do this.Wouldnt Honda want to know what happened and how to fix this issue moving forward? They have no respect, no sympathy and they try to consider themselves as a reputable company? Honda America needs to do something so that all parties can be notified properly and if any further issues with the Crosstour can be rectified before further damage or even death occurs. If anyone knows what I should do here, please let me know.

I have 2009 Honda CRV, over the internet lot of customers like me complained about their A/C stops working when it reaches close to 100K miles. Its because of their faulty Air Compressor system. When they assembled the car, why didnt they test this system. And when they know its a problem that almost all customers are facing, why are they extending warranty to just 6 or 7 years, what about people who dont put much of mileage on their car every day and who use it as secondary vehicle. And their car takes one or two years more to reach their faulty systems to stop working. And moreover someone who lives in North Central United States who see cold weather almost throughout the year, and just few days of Sunny days in a year how do we determine A/C is working. Before assembling the car first thing they need to ensure they have all right quality parts without which assembling the car and selling it to customers is like deceiving customers and making false business to make money. Now, when I look at my car VIN number it says there is a recall on Driver/Passenger airbags. Not sure how they manufactured such parts and how they tested them and why were they in such a hurry to assemble such faulty products and sell it as a SUV to customers.

I received a letter recently advising me of yet another recall for my Honda Jazz. I do not work and to have to pay out for petrol to get there and back to my local dealership and for a courtesy car is not possible. I called the local dealership to book an appointment for my car and was told I would either have to sit in their building whilst the work was done, pay out for a courtesy car or be dropped off and picked up from the local retail park.I am thoroughly ** Off with Honda and your customer service team. On the 25/01/16 I was told that you do not offer any sort of compensation or help to be able to leave my car with one of your dealerships for 2 and a half hours due to a recall. This is the third recall and you want me to pay out for your errors. My local dealership is out in the middle of nowhere and 5 miles plus from my home. The retail park is a small one and would not be enough to keep me occupied for two and a half hours, so that option is out. I cannot pay out for a courtesy car as I have advised. My only option now is to waste two and a half hours sat in the local dealership when I have other things to do.This is not good customer service or practice. You ought to have a facility to deal with the situations as they occur, not to have staff read out your policies and scripted replies. I also think that nobody should buy Honda as you obviously dont know how to make good cars as you would not need all of these recalls if you did. As you can see I am not happy with Honda and as things stand will be looking to never use Honda again. If this had been a one off it would be different but with so many recalls I feel you are now taking the michael as it were. I await your response.

What a joke. I leased a car from here for 3 years. 6 months before my lease was up I tried going to Honda because I needed a bigger car. They wanted to work no type of deal with me. Said wait out lease blah blah then told me my Honda loyalty could get me far? But clearly did not. I ended up going to Chevy. Worked out an amazing deal for me and I returned my Honda early and under the miles I was suppose to return it with. Of course Honda could fathom I went somewhere else and charged me a nice 375 which was explained to me, Oh that’s because you didn’t get another car with Honda... like what? I returned your car mint condition under miles and EARLY. You charge me a fee for not staying with you when you didn’t want to work anything out with me when I tried? A joke! Can’t stand this company and I tell all my family and friend to stay clear of Honda.

The remote starter has disappeared and it was showing that my subscription has expired even though I’ve purchased it. So, I’ve called multiple times Honda Customer service and was told each time it will be solved. Then, a manager would get back to me and solve the issue. Nothing was done, after numeral calls made, I’ve realized this is the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had. I cancelled the subscription. Unfortunately, this is not something I’m used to as I’ve always had great customer service from other car companies.

I bought a new 2009 Honda Accord EX. After a few days, I realized that the drivers seat was very uncomfortable. It can be adjusted in three different ways, so I assumed I just didnt have it adjusted properly. Over the next three weeks or so, I adjusted it in every possible way, but it remained uncomfortable. I contacted the dealer. And they offered to help me buy a good used car (Thanks a lot!). I called North American Honda and they didnt care. And finally, I wrote Tokyo, but they just bounced the problem back to North American Honda. Finally, I got a call from some woman at North American Honda. She had all her talking points down pat. She told me that I should have known that the seats were uncomfortable before I bought it. I asked her how I should know that from a short test drive. She said I just should know. She told me that most people were satisfied with Honda seats. I asked her what Honda had to offer to those of us who werent most people. She had no answer. I also asked her how many complaints Honda had received about their seats. She quickly responded that that was confidential. I told her I could understand why. Her basic attitude was that Honda already had my money, so they didnt give a damn about my problem. I looked for after-market seats, but there werent any because of the air bags in the seat. Its illegal to disconnect air bags. And nobody made after-market seats with air bags. I had the foam in the seat replaced twice, but that didnt help. The car was so miserably uncomfortable that I traded it off after three months and 1700 miles.

I bought a 2018 Honda Accord Touring trim (nearly $40K car). Have had 7 different failures so far (defective paint, electronics failures, parts falling off car door seals, wheel well lining, etc). Hondas answer is to keep taking the vehicle in for service. Its only 3 months old with 6500 miles, and its constantly breaking. In spite of the obvious fact that I have a lemon/dud, Honda will NOT replace the vehicle. My dealers answer outside of keep bringing it in for service was for me to sell my car back to them at a loss, and theyd work me a deal on a new car.GARBAGE quality from Honda. Even worse they dont want to stand behind their product. Ive been working with Leo at Hondas customer care, and he said theres nobody I can escalate to, but hed discuss this internally with the distributor (?) who generally does not talk to the customer. At this point I am in the process of yet more repairs, but a new car experience should NEVER be like this.Ive owned Honda cars my whole life, and have had an 83, 87, 2000, 2005 Accord, as well as a 2005 and a 2006 Odyssey. My 2005 Accord was a nightmare, but that was due to a 3rd party, aftermarket hack job from the dealer, so I cannot state that was a Honda issue. Now I have a 2018 Accord, and outside of some miracle response from Honda to make this right, it will be my last Honda EVER!! To be specific, heres a list of my issues so far in my first 3 months/6500 miles on the car: 1. Paint defect on side of car in front of passenger door 2. Paint defect on roof of car3. Failed backup camera/console unit 4. Weather stripping literally falling off passengers back door 5. Wheel well came loose and is resting on the tire while driving (part is in back order) 6. Bottom weather stripping loose, and sticking outside of rear passengers door7. Intermittent charging working/not working on wireless cell phone charging pad (iPhone X)NOTE: When the dealer looked into the paint on the roof, they first wanted me to file a claim with Cameron (additional paint protection/warranty product I bought), and there was a small elbow sized dent in the corner of the roof after they looked at it which I had to speak with the service manager about to get fixed. They did fix it, but didnt initially want to take ownership of it. Seriously, Honda? Ive Never spent so much money to only live to regret the purchase and get such a careless response from the manufacture of such a clear quality issue with YOUR product. If you are thinking of buying a Honda, buyer beware, and know that Honda will do nothing more than keep sending you in for repairs time and time again. I fear Im reaching the point that the lawyers will have to battle this one out.

I purchased this 2016 Honda pilot certified has powertrain warranty till 2021or 100k. My wife and 3 kids broke down in Canada Sudbury Ontario. I am from Michigan, the vehicle was broken in the middle of nowhere with no phone signal. Thanks god the kids and wife were safe after all, but the very bad experience starts. Towed it to Palladino Honda dealer in Sudbury. Took them 1 week to say that we need a new engine but I can not repair it because it is an American vehicle. I called honda, honda care, my honda dealer. They did not help with anything. After 4 weeks I had to tow my car from them to Southfield Tamaroff honda to get the car repair. Eventually they repaired the car with replicating just the short block of the engine even the rod bearing was broken and metal shaving was all over the engine (car was not washed, no loaner offered, no alignment, bottom screws and push pins missing). Not understanding why they did not change complete engine. It cost me over $2200 to tow it back here and rent the car for my wife, not mentioned all the headache calling every day the honda dealer in Canada and honda customer service where nobody helped even the car was certified and had an extended warranty through honda care. All I wanted is to get refund for the expenses, but no one want to step out and do it (sorry and sorry we understand all these ** answers). Very bad experience, I will never buy a honda again even though I trusted the engineering before no anymore, stay away from honda….

I own a 2010 Honda Accord coupe EX. This is now the second time the rear driver side quarter panel has cracked. My assumption is because of the quality of the rear quarter panel, material of it, and the cold weather. Both times the quarter panel has cracked, it has started out about an inch and then grew to four or five inches. Same spot both times. The first instance the entire quarter panel was replaced by a Honda dealer. Im now waiting on my insurance company to determine if this was a defect in the repair. I think Honda needs to take ownership as this has to be a common problem with these model Accords. I purchased a 2010 Honda Accord from Anderson Honda in Maryland. When I purchased my vehicle, I inquired about getting a bluetooth device installed. I was told that if I got the device as part of my purchase that it would be covered under 3-year 36,000 mile warranty that came with the car. I purchased it (the item is on my Vehicle Purchase Agreement) and subsequently, the car went from MD to CA with my daughter. The bluetooth device is now dropping calls, and my daughter went to get it repaired in CA. Miller Honda told her it was aftermarket, and they would not fix it. I called Anderson and my sales representative, Jim **, told me, “Oh that was if the car was here in Maryland.” I told him that at the time I told him I was taking the car to my daughter in California and he said it will be covered under the car’s 3-year 36,000 mile warranty. I am angry, because I financed this item when I could have paid cash for it and had it installed after the purchase. Also, I was told that this was a factory Honda item (Hands Free Link), and if I knew it was an aftermarket item, I may have gotten a NAV or more sophisticated item for my money. Finally, I am angry because Honda is not living up to its obligations and lied to me to get me to purchase this item that they now do not want to stand behind. I had a bad experience years ago with a Renault and have stayed away from companies that I thought were not reputable. I should have stayed with Toyota, I guess. 3 years ago I bought a used Honda Civic from Honda of Seattle. I am the 2nd owner of the car, it had a clean Carfax, and low miles, 36100 when I bought it. So, for a car like this, I paid a high price, about $12000 after finishing paying my car loan. I recently noticed a coolant leak under my car and a couple of days later I brought it in to Honda of Bellevue for an inspection. A day later they told me that my engine block is cracked and forgot to mention that this is in fact a manufacturer defect, that HONDA admitted and for several times increased the warranty up to 10 years. They insulted me, offering me a $300 cash for the car, or to repair it for about $10000 just for labor - engine not included!I contacted Honda corporation and both dealerships here in Seattle area, they are all trying to wash their hands and not admitting to the fact that this is a MANUFACTURING DEFECT! They said, that they dont have maintenance history since I bought it. I bought this car in good faith, from a reputable dealership, thinking that it will serve me for many years if I treat it well, change oil and filters in time, which I DID! But I dont think its my fault they tried to cut corners to make the car cheaper and then realized that they messed up.All 2006 to 2009 Civics are in the position to have this issues at one point. For me it happened at 65k miles for others at 19k. Whatever the mileage, it will ALWAYS BE a MANUFACTURER DEFECT and HONDA should have the decency to warranty every person that bought this car, regardless of mileage and not just for 10 years. So, next time youre thinking to go to a Honda Dealership, to buy a car, thinking they are there for their clients...think twice. They are there to sell you a car, not to support you when you have a problem with it. This is in response to the gentleman who had to replace the rear brakes on his wifes Accord. There was a class action suit filed in which Honda agreed to pay. I had the same thing happened on my ‘09 model and they reimbursed me for the full amount of the repairs after I submitted the receipts. I believe it was up to $150. The payoff does not come from Honda—it must be done thru the administrator of the suit.I have just purchased my second Accord EX-L and couldnt be happier! I had the first for three years and I just picked up the second one last night. I have been very pleased with the quality of the car. I had absolutely no issues with the ‘09 model and I am hoping my luck holds out with the 2012!

Don’t even waste your breath with this. I got a flat tire on the highway and all they could do for me was tow my car to the nearest dealership. Couldn’t change the flat with my own spare either- just a tow. The lady helping me said I needed to give her an exact address- well I was traveling and I had no idea where I was. Also, after 30 minutes I called the towing company they dispatched and no one was even on their way yet... ended up calling non-emergency police and they came out in 10 minutes and changed my flat to my spare. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE WITH HONDA.

I have received 3 recall notices from Honda. The first one came in December 2015. The second came in March 2016. The third came in July 2016. I have called each time. I have not had nothing repaired. I have called and called since receiving the notice in July. I was promised someone would call me back. This was a empty promise. I have one vehicle. Yet I am told, let no one ride in the front passenger seat. Just think how many times someone has already rode in this seat. They told me that they would not be responsible, if someone got hurt. Since they suggest that you avoid having a passenger sit in the front passengers seat until the recall repair has been performed, I have asked for another vehicle to drive until they get my car repaired. There has been nothing done about this either. I feel that I deserve an answer from someone.

I went into Honda on Rt. 22 in Hillside, NJ for a diagnosis test & oil change. The service advisor tells me its just my battery. Ok so I wait for them to change the battery. Then he comes out 20 min later and says Can you come with me? I have to show you something. The mechanic shows my cables are ate up from the battery. He cannot change battery without changing cables which was approximately 600 and some change which I didnt have. My mechanic states my barrings are also leaking which was approximately 700 and some change. Now I had my car serviced back in April, they didnt see all the acid and corrosion on my battery. YES THEY DID, it was too much not to and to eat my cables from April to Oct the way it did, it was a lot of acid. Ok so I tell them look, fix it where I can drive it and Ill pay for the oil change and diagnosis test which was $85. While Im waiting they come tell me they dont have the parts. Ok give me a loaner. They dont have loaners, they have a shuttle - but fine, Im going to East Orange, OH. We dont go to East Orange, we go to Newark, Irvington, Union, Hillside and Elizabeth. Ok East Orange is a hop, skip, and jump away from all of them - WTF. Now Im mad, frustrated, hungry. I get a call with bad news of a relative passing - the day is just going downhill. Then a man approaches me about a car. I go in his office, we talk. He tells me I can take a new car & bring it back Saturday. Well that sounded great at the time so I sign temporary insurance papers to cover the new car, a privacy paper in which they said it was mandatory, and left with the car. I leave out the state on an emergency, my brother brings the car back to Rt. 22 Honda in Hillside and guess what? They SOLD MY CAR, told me I would have to give the $150 to get it back. Sorry Rt. 22 Honda - you better be very very careful of them.

I bought a beautiful 2008 Honda Accord in May 2008. Brand new. 7 miles on the odometer. I also purchased the 100,000 mile bumper to bumper extended warranty. My car now registers 91,000 miles. I bought the car in Los Gatos, CA. at the dealership. I lived in Los Gatos, CA. A few months afterwards the dealership closed and now I am expected to drive all the way over to Fremont, CA. I chose Stevens Creek Honda in San Jose, CA.Every oil change, new tires, maintenance was done there. And a year ago I moved to Ventura, CA.Now I have to choose a new dealership to change the oil, etc. so I chose DCH Honda of Oxnard, CA. From the start I have had issues with them. I am in the process of another Oil Consumption test. I found out that that, and the brakes, are the number 1 complaint on the 2008 Accord. At 43,000 miles Stevens Creek Honda installed the oil consumption software. My car is using oil. The life of the oil has nothing to do with the amount of oil that is in the car. My Life oil usage stated I had 90% but the oil dip stick doesnt even register the oil. I had only put 850 miles on the car. This nonsense has been going on for over a year. I wear a dress, I am not at liberty to constantly check the oil.Plus, I have owned three other Hondas and NEVER had this problem with a car or a dealership. I called to have the oil changed at 40% oil life and they told me not to change the oil because Honda doesnt recommend it! Oh Please! If I want to change the oil, let me! Three times I have been to the dealership to complain. The repair manager, **, tells me my car is fine. They have been putting a lighter weight oil in the car, the oil cap clearly states a specific weight oil. What is that about? I am no genius but the obvious is there. The lighter weight oil is leaking through the piston o-rings. I need an ring job. I was told by my service advisor that they had an abundance of the lighter oil and that is why they are using it. They are telling me that they are adjusting the valves and putting in the recommended oil, and the car should be fine. The car is at 91,000 miles. If I need a ring job later, after my warranty has expired, I will be out thousands of dollars!

I have a 2010 Honda Accord EX-L 4 Cyl (45,000 miles and bought new) and it burns oil between changes. I have spoken to mechanics, friends and family and everyone is in agreement that cars do not burn oil unless they are old or have a mechanical issue. The first time I brought it to my dealers attention, the service rep. agreed that was normal. This was in Aug. of this year. They set me up on an oil consumption test. Also, I should mention that when it begins to burn the oil, my oil lamp light indicator flickers and my engine makes a tapping noise when I accelerate every so often. I went back in 2,000 miles later for a check and was told that the oil was fine and that the software update they preformed in August should take care of my issue. (Ive seen no advertised recalls on this yet they have the software update out there) At 6,000 miles, the lamp light came on again and my engine began making the tapping noise. I was ready for my normal change anyhow. Took it in to my dealer, explained I was still having the same issue. They found it to be 3/4 a quart low and their mechanic said this was normal for 6,000 miles of driving. My concern though is that my power train warranty will be up in another year or so and I am worried my engine has already suffered damage since it makes that tapping noise. Service rep said at the latest oil change that he has seen 5-10 of these cases come through and that the software update should remedy it. I am going to formally write Honda so they will at least have my concern on file. Service rep said Id be highly considered if I needed my engine replaced after my warranty is up since I have been documenting everything. But overall, I am disgusted that I pay what I pay a month for a brand that is supposed to be excellent yet I am having issues. If this continues and nothing is done, I can promise I wont be buying another Honda and Ill make sure all around me know my experiences.

I have a new 2016 Civic and it is a great car. It is my fourth Civic, but there are a couple of things that I do not like about it. It does not have a CD player in it. I do not like any of the stations on the radio and I do not like the music of today. I loved listening to my music from the 50s, 60s and some of the 70s, but now I cannot do that because you opted not to put CD players in your new cars. I am not a person that has a Ipod, so that is not an option to listen to. I was very disappointed when I found out about this feature. The trunk door lock on the drivers door is an annoyance. I cannot reach the door handle to close the door when I get in so I have to grab on to the pocket where the button for the trunk button is and 9 out of 10 times I hit it and have to get out of the car to close the trunk. Why didnt you leave it where it was on the 2013 Civics??? Whoever makes these changes should think of the Seniors that purchase these vehicles and leave some things alone. Other than those two features that I just explained, the car is great and I do love it. Thank you for listening.

It has done a great job holding up to our large family over the last 8 years. It has never needed any work, outside of the normal scheduled oil changes and maintenance, to keep it going strong. The leather interior held up to a family of 7, plus our 2 grandsons over the last 4 years. Not a single tear in the interior. Handles like a dream and drives like a car around corners. Stops wonderfully quick. At 240,000 miles, the notoriously bad transmissions for this year in Honda, finally gave out on me, with little warning. That is my first and only complaint.

I purchased a Certified Pre-owned 2013 CRV. When I was setting up the electronics, my battery died, after about 15 minutes of not running. Honda told me it was natural because there are so many electronic devices it cant keep a charge. So I took it in, they tested the battery, and it read good. I took the car to a battery shop, they tested it and it showed it had 6% of its life left. The tech said Honda service is supposed to try and not replace anything at Hondas expense, so they tweak their testing machines. I dont know if that is true or not, but Hondas tester said my battery was good, and this tech said it had 6% life remaining. The testing machines were the same brand. So I took my Honda to be outfitted for towing behind my RV. I followed the book directions, which says if you are towing more than 8 hours, pull fuse 17. I was towing 20 minutes, just to get home, so I didnt pull fuse 17. Lo and behold, my battery was dead when I got home. I thought Certified Pre-Owned meant that all parts of the car would last per their warranty, not a battery that would die the same day you drive it off the lot. So I am headed back to Honda. If they replace my battery, Ill write a nice report. If they dont and I have to go to an aftermarket battery, at my own expense, Ill get my moneys worth writing bad things about Honda.

I purchased a new 2009 Honda Accord Coupe, 4 cylinder, and after about 35,000 miles, I started experiencing excessive oil consumption. Oil is being lost at the rate of 1 qt. per 1,000 miles. I do not see any oil on my garage floor, so I can only assume it is burning it slowly. This is my second Accord, by the way, and I drive 25,000 miles per year, so I know darn well what the usage rate is. I went online to see if any other people had experienced this, and was surprised to find out that many other owners are having this problem, all across the US, in fact. The car was under warranty, so I called American Honda, and they told me to take it to a dealer, so that a diagnostic could be run, but they admitted that there was a recall for this problem. They said there was a software update, which should solve the problem. I was highly skeptical that software could fix it, but I played along. The next day, I took the car to Herb Chambers Honda in Burlington, MA for a diagnostic. They didnt see anything in the codes, and no visible signs of leakage. They did the software upgrade, and changed the oil, and told me to come back when (if) the oil level hit the low point on the dip stick. At about 2,700 miles, 1/27/12, the oil light came on today. I took the car back today, and they told me it had a little over 2 quarts of oil in it. It lost roughly 2 quarts per 1,000 miles. There was no change after the software upgrade at all. Actually, there was a change. My gas mileage went from high 20s to low 20s on the highway. They actually made the car worse. The dealer told me that 1 quart per 1,000 miles is normal for any car. I almost fell over, when they said that. In all my years of driving, including cars from the 60s and 70s, I have never seen a car come anywhere close to that. They actually thought I would buy that story. It is unbelievable! So, I called American Honda, to speak with the case manager that had been assigned to my case, and was expecting him to be all apologetic, and say that they would resolve the problem. Not a chance! He used the same line the dealer did, with the 1 qt. per 1,000 miles being normal usage. I was outraged! I just couldnt believe it. A multiple car Honda owner, and they didnt care the slightest about me, or their product. They could have made a customer for life by fixing it, but instead, they made an enemy for life. Now, Im stuck with a 2 year old piece of junk, and have no choice but to trade it in. Ill never buy another product from Honda, ever again, and I will be sure tell my story to everyone I come in contact with.

I received this notice from Honda with this warning on my 2009 Accord V6. They said the parts will be available in late Summer/Fall 2016. They have an advisory to avoid having a passenger sit in the front passengers seat until the recall repair has been performed. However, they make no mention of the drivers side airbag. I am sure the warning applies to both but they dont mention that. When driving on the interstate, my check engine light started flashing. I had it towed to an independent garage where I was told a spark plug had somehow came loose, fell through the cylinder, and exploded inside my engine. Now Im trying to decide what makes the most sense for a repair, to replace the engine or take apart the head and replace that and hope the ganging ring need to be replaced anyway. I recently had the misfortune of purchasing a car (2018 Honda Fit) with Honda Sensing enabled. Within a week, I discovered that the sensors are so flaky as to render the car unsafe to drive - while I was unable to trigger them at all during the test drive (as they sometimes fail to detect anything), the opposite problem (seeing something that isnt there) is where the car becomes unsafe. 3 times in 60 miles of highway driving, the car applied maximum brakes without warning. The road in front of me was clear for several miles (and thankfully also clear behind me), but it always triggered as I was just about to finish passing another car. This compounded the risk of brake checking - had someone been behind me, they absolutely would have rear-ended me, as they would have had no place to go to dodge my vehicle, and absolutely no way to anticipate my car applying the brakes at maximum for several seconds. The dealership inspected the sensors and assured me they were performing to spec - this was not an issue with a faulty or malfunctioning sensor, *this is the way Honda Sensing is designed to work*. Further searching has turned up 3 class action lawsuits and hundreds of similar stories, with Honda dismissing all of them with the hilarious its a complicated system, you cant expect it to be perfect. Im sure Ford would have loved to have that slogan when they were dealing with the Pinto. Honda, when it comes to the *brakes on a car*, yes, you do need to be perfect, or you need to leave them alone. Its worth noting that Consumer Reports ranks Honda dead last in its evaluation of these emergency braking systems.Further compounding the situation, there is no way to permanently disable this system. I would strongly recommend that no one buy a car with this feature, think twice before riding in a newer Honda, and be aware of their potentially erratic performance if you see one on the road - frankly these cars are a danger to others as much as to themselves.

In April 2012, I took my Honda Odyssey to be repaired at Lute Riley Honda in Richardson, Texas. I told them to do a multi-point inspection to find out what was wrong with my transmission and brakes. Upon completing the inspection I was told by Joseph, a mechanic there, that all he found was that the transmission switch needed to be replaced; the gasket, gear oil, pressure plate, and clutch needed to be replaced, as well as the cat converter. I agreed and also purchased a warranty for my transmission. My subtotal was over $6000. After all the repairs, I received my car back seven days later, thinking that everything he stated would be replaced. Earlier this year, the clutch stopped functioning. I took my minivan to the dealership for them to honor the warranty. I was told that the warranty did not cover clutch repairs. Basically, I was lied to. I am still trying to seek justice and get them to honor their word. I highly recommend that no one use Lute Riley for any repairs. They do not have the integrity to be in business and should not be trusted. Next time, I will buy a Toyota.

Ive been on Hondas since the late 60s, dirt, trail & blacktop versions. Ive had other brands (primarily cruisers), but have been disappointed and have returned home to Honda. After playing in the dirt during my youth I graduated finally to the Wings. Got my first Wing in 1984 right out of the crate. Put over 250K on her and traded her in on a shiny new SEI in 1986. Kept the SEI in pristine condition until a moving company broke her during a military move & purchased a 95 anniversary edition, which I still have today. Ive had hog riders tell me she isnt a real bike and Ive told them that they are correct - shes a Cadillac convertible on 2 wheels. Unlike an ultra glide I can be on her with my wife, all day long and at the end of a long day of 400+ miles I can still walk. Three cruisers, all with over 200K miles doing nothing more than typical scheduled maintenance or replacing small parts e.g., tires, brake pads etc. Ive known several people that have well over a half-million miles on Wings and are still going strong - figure out how many V-twins youd go through in that many miles. Ive been thinking of trading in the 95 for another new bike, but really do Not like the most recent version of the Wing. Ive been on the BMW cruiser and Ive got to admit, it really has me thinking of changing. Thirty-five years of loyalty with Wings is hard to shake, but they (Honda) seem intent on taking one of their best lines (Goldwing) and making it into another sports bike. Buy a good used one if you can find one, youll be very happy you did.

I purchased a new 2006 Honda Civic LX and now, 5 years and 41,000 miles later, the paint is fading and the clear coat is disintegrating! I regularly get my car cleaned and waxed, so it is not neglect. I park my car outside and the paint/clear coat should hold up! I went to Braman Honda in Lake Worth and they said my car was out of warranty - 3 years or 36,000miles. I got an estimate to repaint the roof and trunk lid (the hood had been repaired in Jan. 2011 due to a fender bender) and it will be $671 to repair. I am in the process of getting another estimate. There was a class-action suit for the visors in this vehicle and Honda extended the warranty for those to 7 years. Rather than improving on the design of the visor, they will replace it and after 7 years you are out of luck. I am pretty disgusted at this paint situation and even more so, since I see this is a prevalent problem with Honda - using poor paint and clear coat. I love my 2006 Honda Civic LX Coupe. It is a beautiful car and mechanically, it is fantastic. My friend just bought a 2012 Honda Civic EX. It is beautiful and I am reluctant to upgrade to a Honda because of this paint problem, unless I plan to repaint the car at a cost around $2,300 - $3,000. Honda, what is wrong with you guys? Please improve your paint and you will get rid of a lot of headaches! I want Honda to pay to have my car repainted with good quality paint. This car should last another five years, at least.

In December 2014 I purchased a new 2015 Honda Accord. On July 9, 2015 my AIR CONDITIONER stopped working. I live in Florida where the summer is extremely hot making even the shortest of trips very uncomfortable. I took my car to the dealership the next morning for service, knowing that I have a 3 year/36,000 mile warranty in addition to an extended warranty. I was sure that the repair would be covered under warranty. I was informed that a rock/pebble had pierced my condenser which put a pinhole in it, and it is NOT covered under warranty. Honda indicated that the cost to fix the condenser is $716.85. I went to the dealership twice to speak with the General Manager to see if this can be resolved given that my car is only 8 months old with only 9000 miles and I was told to go through my insurance company. I also reached out to Honda of America and was told that the damage was caused by road debris and is not covered under warranty. This is an obvious design flaw. The Honda air-conditioning condenser is unduly prone to damage caused by normal road debris that does not affect other auto manufacturers condenser design. As with other auto makers, the front bumper clip is wide open to any kind of road debris and the condenser sits right behind the front air intake with NO protection at all. However, this typical design poses a problem for the Honda condensers and will happen over & over again, and Honda refuses to do anything about it calling it normal and working as designed! This should be a recall.

Luckily our car was one of those approved VIN numbers, HOWEVER.... they claim that they will ONLY repaint 2 areas on our car, the roof and the tailgate. We have other visible areas starting to flake off and peel away, especially around our windows and it’s only a matter of time before the rest of this faulty paint falls off. It’s the ENTIRE CAR that’s covered in this defective paint, repainting only a couple areas is NOT OKAY! We are extremely furious and want our car completely painted in order to fully fix our cars paint!

Let me start off by saying I absolutely love my car. I was driving down the road and hit a small pothole just like everyone else and all of the airbags deployed for no reason rendering it inoperable. I had to pay to have the car towed and I will have to pay for it to be fixed and I did nothing wrong. This s absolutely absurd.

I bought a 2017 CRV EX. We installed our car seat in the middle back row of the car. The car seat belt buckle and passenger belt buckle were switched, making it unsafe and difficult for the passenger to put on their seat belt. This is surprising to me because I dont think this is a small mistake. Its a safety issue. I called the dealer, Ralph Schomp Honda in Highlands Ranch, where we bought the car, and I was advised to bring it in for a half day inspection. This is already a hassle, to add to that, the dealer also charges $22/day for a loaner car. I feel like I am being hassled for a big mistake that Honda has made. This just doesnt feel right. This is a brand new 2017 car.I called America Honda and I was told that no one has complained about this. I Googled it and there are others that have complained about this situation. America Honda advised me to bring it into the dealership. Overall, I love the car but I am very disappointed about this big safety mistake from Honda and they are not being proactive to fix the issue. I called American Honda several times and they told me that they cant fix the issue at this time and have done everything according to federal safety regulations. I am very disappointed with American Honda.

The steering on my Honda hybrid failed while driving 55mph. When the car was taken to dealer in Eugene, we were told Honda was aware of this problem but had not notified anyone. They refused to pay for repair because they said mileage over warranty - a warranty they never informed us about. Their explanation is that if you bring auto in with steering issue, then they would inform you of the issue. So in other words - your steering has to fail and perhaps almost get you killed, which is what happened here - before they let you know its a known issue. NEVER BUY HONDA AGAIN.

There has been a recall on the Honda Insight. I had my car repaired before the recall happened. They have offered to reimburse after the recall happened. I sent in all the forms needed to make this happen. I have spoken to Luis at customer service many times. They are now asking for the receipts of the actual parts bought by the garage that fixed my car. That garage is asking for a $75 fee to do this. Honda does not want to pay it. I do not want to spend any more money on this. The repairs are a good $500 less than what Honda quoted to fix it. I feel they are doing this to drag it out. In hopes that I will not pursue the refund. I am disappointed that I have been given the runaround. This is a defect on the car which I had fixed for less than what they would have paid. They should pay the $75 fee to get receipts.

I purchased a 2018 Honda Civic Hatchback in November of 2017. Navigation system has not worked correctly from the beginning and other electronic problems have arisen since. I gave them 8 attempts to fix it, with my car being in the shop a total of 67 days. I started the lemon law process and after the final attempt didnt work, I requested them to buy it back. They sent me a letter declining to do so because they tried to fix it in good faith. They offered me a one time $1500 cash settlement for my time and to keep me a happy customer.I refused and filed with the state for an arbitration hearing. At the hearing, they tried to say EVERYTHING I did could have caused my problems- had to replace my window from a rock and that new window might be causing an interference, using a Bluetooth headpiece separate from the car might cause an interference, having my phone in the car might be causing an interference, using music on a usb drive could have corrupted files and cause an issue. It was horrible. The arbitrator sided on my side and they were told how much they had to pay me back. They sent me a letter stating in order to repurchase it back, they needed several items of information. I faxed all the information requested over the same day. A week later, I get another letter requesting one piece of the information to be sent again like I hadnt already sent it. I overnighted the entire packet to them again. Then, I get a letter saying they are happy to comply and someone would be in touch, but when I dropped off the car, I owed THEM more than $6000 from prior debt I had. I refused and a gentleman called me to explain why, which made no sense. Then the very next day, I get another letter stating that was in fact exactly how much I owed them and I needed to contact the state if I had any further questions concerning it. The state rep said she even chuckled at that one because there was no way they were going to tell me that was correct since it wasnt what the arbitrator decided. During this time, I left a total of 4 voicemails for the Honda representative, and two emails. None of these messages were ever returned. Last week, I FINALLY received a letter stating they were going to comply with the request at the stated amount and someone would be in touch. The very next day on Friday, I was in meetings for a total of 4 hours. During that time, I missed 1 call from Hondas repurchasing vendor about scheduling a time on Monday to return the car. I called her back when I got home, and we scheduled for Monday. She verified everything I would need to bring and I asked if I would be receiving my check at this time. She stated there was no check included in my packet. I told her I did not trust honda enough to give back the car without them complying with ALL the decision. The next morning, I get a call from the same rep saying she has the check as it was overnighted to her for me. The same day, I get a nastygram in the mail from Honda stating they had tried to call me, and sent a letter and had proof that I had received it (the same letter I received that stated someone would be in touch regarding scheduling). The letter continued to state that honda had performed its due diligence in meeting the terms of compliance, but my participation was critical and they were requesting me to extend my full participation in this matter in order to complete the process. (All this because I didnt respond to 1 phone call until 4 hours later, when they have never responded to any of my contact attempts.) The car is scheduled to be picked up tomorrow and I cant get rid of it fast enough. The local dealership has been wonderful (surprisingly for a dealership) and I originally thought about getting another honda because of this reason, but my experience with the actual company has made me swear off Honda for the rest of my life. This was my first and last one and I will take EVERY opportunity to post copies of these stupid letters for others to be aware what this company is really like. I will be posting reviews anywhere possible to warn people NOT to buy a Honda for any reason! Any company that treats its customers with such disrespect is worthless.

After a year of purchasing the vehicle brand new off the lot the noise started. I complain about the noise numerous of times during oil changes. They never knew what the problem was nor did they hear a noise (lies). But now since I’m almost done (1 payment left) with paying off my car, and my warranty is over (bingo) we know what the problem is and it’s gonna cost ya! American Honda is garbage. They don’t wanna acknowledge the problem, and they’ve been knowing for years well before I purchase mines in 2012.

I have owned Hondas for about 20 years. Their build quality is not the quality of the 1980s/early 1990s. In the mid 90s, Honda went to OEM suppliers. That was the end of the high quality Hondas. If you are having issues or making a decision on buying, here are the problems that you will fix over and over: Starting issues. This is the biggest problem. These cars have a cold start issue. There is a temp sensor and main relay that just break over and over. No lights will go on the dash and no codes will come up to warn you they are bad. You have to have the spark plugs pulled to see if they are getting black residue on them. This can happen on new plugs. Why? The temp sensor adds fuel when it is cold and cuts back on fuel when hot. It works in reverse when it starts to fail (no way to detect). This will coat your engine and emission system with fuel crud that hasnt burnt. There is no way Honda doesnt know about the problem. You can search models from the 1990s to present day that have this issue. You can keep on top of it but the problem keeps returning.Paint. It will fail. It kills resale value. This has been going on since the 1990s. Detail shops will not wax the cars because the paint is so thin that a buffer will take it right off. Even hand waxing marks the paint. Headlights will cloud over. Over and over again. Door handles break. That is an expensive repair. Headliner will fall down. There is no way to re-attach it. They develop a leak in the cowl. This will rot out your floors. Oxygen sensor fails over and over. Radiator is plastic and glued together. It will fail in the 50 thousand range after the warranty is over. Then about every 50 thousand miles after that. There are several Honda Civics in the town I live in with the same make and paint color. All have the same problems with paint, headlights and door handles. The paint fails in the same spots. No recall from Honda. If you thinking of buying a used Honda for your childs first car, avoid them. These are not the cars for beginners. They will end up being towed. Contact Honda America? They do not respond. They do not care. They will care the next time I purchase a new car as it will not be a Honda. I was loyal, they think nothing of loyalty. I have people that own Hondas coming up to me to tell the problems they have had with their cars. Most of the people have pretty new Hondas. This makes me think that the build quality has gotten even worse in the last couple of years. Honda is no longer worth the extra money they charge.

My company purchased a Honda Accord Automatic [P 262, Engine No. K24Z 20001515; Chassis No. G8N000825] on 28-July-2008 from the Dealer in Bardoli, Gujarat, for my use. Ever since then, the car engine cannot be started if by chance the driver runs cabin fan (i.e., fan without AC) for more than 10 to 15 minutes. I have then to call Honda Service who send on chargeable basis, a vehicle to tow the battery to jump start the car. Thereafter, the car carries on.This has happened four times at odd places and at odd times. Fed up with the problem, I tried to diagnose the problem my self and to my horror I discovered that the original battery provided by Honda is too small and to camouflage this a plastic encasement has been place around the battery so that the impression given is that the battery is of proper size. In width it is shorter by about 50 mm. I had not expected this from a Japanese Company since I have been of the opinion that Japanese do not cheat their customers.

VSA warning light came on in my 2009 Honda Accord. Dealership said perfectly fine to drive, just a warning light. Next day I had to have my car towed to the dealer. They are telling me 4 timing teeth stripped off $980 and 4 bent valves which they can give me NO cost for except if they cant fix/replace the valves I am looking at $4000 for a new head. Mind you I have owned and perfectly maintained this car at the same dealer since brand new and the timing belt has 84000 miles now and its not recommended to change until 105000 miles. Honda dealership is great. But when it comes to the actual corporation they have no value for the customer. I got a 2016 Honda Civic fully equipped and I took my brother as well and got the same car as me, so technically we bought two at the same time and within the 3rd month my car started to get system errors, brake system problem, abs system problem, anti-lock braking system problem, tire pressure monitor system problem and much more. I took in the shop I would say 7 - 8 times and was at the shop of total of 35 days at the shop and the problem was still there. So I called Honda corporation and made a claim. The gentlemen that took my case did not call me back or anything. So I got an Attorney because I didnt know what else to do. I was missing work, couldnt take my son to school. Its been almost 7 months and Honda still giving a hard time.I trade in my previous car. I was down $4,000 and I was fine with it because I thought I was getting a better car. Till today with downpayment and car payments Ive put close to $10,000 and Honda is just trying to give me $4,000 back. This was my first new car and gave me the worse first car experience. So if you get a car from Honda just make sure its not a lemon because I assure you they wont treat you the same way as if you where a new customer. I would never get a Honda car ever again.

We bought an HRV 22 months ago. While driving cross country to my daughters college graduation we stopped in Las Vegas to get something to drink. As we were about to get on the freeway all the lights on the dashboard lit up. Flashing were the words Check Charging System. We took it to Honda West dealership and they told us to come back tomorrow morning and they would look at the vehicle. The next day they had the vehicle for four hours and still did not know what wrong. We left the vehicle with them and rented a car and drove back home. A month later they said they had everything fixed. They found that rodents had eaten through the cabin air filter and damaged the wiring inside the vehicle. After getting home with the vehicle I took the cabin air filter out to see how I could keep the rodents out of my vehicle. The dealership put the old filter back into the vehicle. It had two holes in it that were 2-3 inches wide, full of rodent excrement and smelled like urine. I removed the plastic cover between the front hood and the front windshield. About 3 inches below the windshield on the passenger side was a 4 inch by 12 opening going through the firewall into the Ac unit. Below the opening was a 3 1/2 inch wide shelf for the rodents to sit on. I got a piece of hardware cloth with 1/4 openings and four self-tapping sheet metal screws and covered the hole to keep the rodents out.The cost of repair was about $1.50, the cost from Honda West Dealership for the rodent damage was $ 9,720.10. This is a bad design by Honda, to allow this kind of access for rodents into their vehicle. I understand this is the same design on all of their crossover vehicles. How much money has Honda Corporation made off of this design because of rodent damage?

My situation: I bought a 2013 Civic SI four door in black. I was super happy until I noticed a year ago the paint started getting cloudy and white. Today it looks a lot worse and after undergoing what they call an inspection which was just pictures on one of the employees phone. The case manager had the audacity to inform me that they cant help me because it looks like rock chipping. Should I laugh or just be completely upset? I can say I will no longer depend on this company when it comes to buying a reliable car. I am so disappointed! The cars paint is suppose to have extended warranty of 7 years because of the poor quality of paint or coating they decided to use to save a few dollars. Yet they call me to ask if I would like to trade in my car right after I drive off the Aventura Dealer in Florida. For sales they are quick but the customer service is just disgusting. I will have to get a lawyer involved because this is just unacceptable. Its sad to say I am not the only one with this issue. I wouldnt wish this upon anyone and would never recommend Honda to friends and family again. Getting the car painted out of my pocket is $1000+ and Its just not going to happen. I booked and prepaid to have my windshield replaced by Honda in Concord. I paid on May 15th, prior to going to SFO to catch a flight. I was informed by the representative at Honda, that the glass people would need payment up front, and then book a date and time and the glass people will come to Honda and install. Well, here I am, Tuesday, May 28th, been here since prior to 8.30 a.m. My appointment was at nine. First of all, I was told they had no record of our payment for the windshield, which was paid on the 15th. I told them I have the record on my credit card. They said they still dont have record, they then located it after taking my car and finding the receipt in the center console.Anyway, here I am sitting at Honda, Concord, CA, 1.38 p.m., the service person came over approx. 1 hour ago, saying the car had GONE to the window place, and it will take almost all day. Okay, what happened to the window people coming here?!? Also, I have sat here for over 4 hours, unable to go to the bathroom, in case they happened to say it was ready. Also, we paid a large amount of money for a warranty, every time we come in, they cant find it on the computer, and they charge us!! Why dont they ask the financial department, as they have got it from there once before after a fuss from my husband. Now, my husband called, asking to speak to the General Manager of Honda Concord, and was told he wasnt allowed to speak to him. Was he asked to leave a message for the General Manager? No!!! He was told to leave a message for the Service Manager, who is apparently in a meeting and will call my husband back. Lets see how long that takes....

Heres a list of my issues so far in my first 6 weeks/2226 miles on the car: 1. Paint defect on hood. 2. Paint defect on roof of car. 3. Paint defect on trunk of car. 4. Failed backup camera/console unit. Issues so far in my daughter’s Honda Accord first 8 months/12000 miles on the car: 1. Failed backup camera/console unit. 2. Weather stripping literally falling off driver’s front door. 3. Rattling noise that the dealership can’t hear when I take it in.The district manager is saying its the environment. Not true! I have not one but two 2018 Honda Accords and its only happening one. If it was the environment both of the vehicles would be messed up. My daughter’s Accord paint isn’t messed up and she has had it longer than I have had mine. I have another vehicle that I drive. I drive the SAME route everyday for the last year and I had the other car since 2017, it doesn’t have paint damage either. Something is wrong with the paint on the Honda Accord and I am very disappointed that Honda isnt owning up to it and fixing my vehicle. I have been driving Hondas since 1994. Besides the paint I am very pleased but unless Honda fixes my vehicle I will NEVER buy another Honda in my LIFETIME.

Recently, I bought (April 2011) a 1997 Honda Passport with a blown head for next to nothing. I purchased the vehicle for my two kids to get back and forth from college. I then dumped a couple grand into fixing it. Then in June, I noticed big chunks of rusted steel on my driveway under where the Passport was parked. I crawled underneath it, only to find that the chassis was so rusted out in places that I could place my whole fist into the holes (especially right under the passenger seat/door). I was also able to grab handfuls of rusted and corroded steel from inside the cavity along the chassis.I immediately called the Honda Recall Hotline, and they indicated to me that there was no recall for the 1997 Chassis, but there was a recall starting in 1998 on the frame. “Not to worry”, they said. I was to take it to the dealer to have them access the situation and determine next steps. So, I parked the vehicle in the driveway, and prohibited any one from driving it. I have been so busy with work, but I finally got around to calling the dealer in my area (Roush). They instructed me to set an appointment for them to do a diagnostic check. Oh, and that they will have to charge me for the diagnostic analysis. I told them that it was a bunch of bunk having it; I did not want to pay them any fees. All one has to do is get on their knees; look under the car, and come to the diagnosis that I came to that there is obviously a defect for the steel to be so rusted, that you could put your fist into several areas. Obviously, you do not need to be a rocket surgeon to figure it out, nor do you need to place it on a rack to make an official diagnosis, let alone charge me for it. I told them that I would send them 1000 FREE diagnostic pictures that they could use for their analysis.Since that did not get me anywhere, I asked for Hondas number because I wanted to chat with a regional/district manager in order to obtain approval for the dealer to waive the diagnostic fee. I got the runaround from Heather in recalls. She said that I needed to go back to the dealer; since my vehicle had no recall, she could not obtain approval for a free diagnostic check. She also would not provide me with the district managers name for Honda. She said to me that I needed to get that information from the dealer.I then proceeded to voice my concern on this, and told her that the vehicle isnt safe to be driving even to the dealer. She offered absolutely no concern, nor any valuable customer service. Based on this Honda experience and previous experience with a GMC vehicle, I can tell you GMCs customer service department blows Hondas away. So, now I have to call Roush back in order to obtain the Honda district managers name and number. It makes absolutely no sense and is totally a runaround. I bought the Passport because it was a Honda, only to find out that it is an ISUZU.Honda evidently paid ISUZU to manufacture the Passports which was Hondas entrance into the SUV market. Now I have what I thought was a Honda, which is actually an ISUZU. No wonder why the frame is crap. If you happen to own a Honda Passport manufactured in the years 1995 (first year), 1996 and 1997, check your chassis. It started when my check engine light was on while I was driving on the freeway. The car started to jerk once in a while. Luckily I got home safe not to mention my toddler was in the backseat plus Im pregnant, too. My Honda Accord Coupe V6 is a 2001 model, but it only has 64,000 to it. My transmission needed to be replaced. I had contacted Honda Corporation to see if they can help me out since one of our friend had the same problem with a 1999 model. The case couldnt even hold a chance because the insensitive case worker told me I had no chance with a 10-year old car and the warranty was expired 3 years ago. I never received the warranty letter. Now I have to make a decision to pay the $4900 to install the new transmission or walk away from my car that hasnt been with the 64,000 miles to it.

I bought a second hand car from Honda in May last year (2017). This would be my first ever time buying a car. Everything went fine within the sales and I loved this car, which was a Holden Cruze 2014. I didnt have enough money saved and I did not have my apprenticeship long to afford it so I opted for the finance and was told everything about finance through my sales rep. The finance seemed good my circumstance and I went through with it. The finance women I spoke to was Ellie **. I stated my terms to her about the whole thing. She told me it would be a 5 year contract with 1 year fixed. After the 1 year fixed was up I could pay it all out with no interest or added fees. It seemed perfect for me and she went through it a couple of times to me. I felt it was perfect and she was in my corner for the finance.Something seemed fishy after I noticed I had no car user manual in the car. I called them up a lot and even visited. I never got any word back on the whereabouts of my car manual. Not until Monday (25th March, 2018). I called up again and spoke to a Michael. He followed everything up and ended up ordering me a new book. I then called up my finance, Skyline Car Finance about how much was owing and when my 1 year fixed would end. Thats where it went bad because they told me it was a 5 year fixed contract and that I would need to follow up with my dealership. I contacted Ellie who told me there was no such thing as a 1 year and that I would save on interest and theres an early exit fee. I went in today on a Saturday (31st March, 2018). I collected my book and talked to Ellie. She told me that it was a 5 year fixed from the start and that I misinterpreted it and that I should read my contract. I feel as if I have been sucked into a contract I would never have signed if I knew this. She also told me that heaps of people come in with the same reason I have. So the real question is, how many people is ripping off?

I live in Baraut, U.P. and I purchased a Honda Activa from Subhan Sai Honda Najafgarh in Nov. 2011 (no-**). After 10 days, there was a problem with that engine and I informed our nearest dealer in Baraut but there was no action taken by that dealer. After that, I informed Mayapuri Honda dealer (because my local address is near, by Mayapuri). But after 15 days, that dealer had taken action and he changed some parts of the engine and I paid 3000 Rs for that. Now, again, I am facing the same problem and my Activa is at my home (Baraut). The local dealer is saying, I will not do anything; you will have to take it to the same agency where you purchased from. This is very difficult for me because I am working in Gurgaon. How can I take it to Najafgarh from Baraut? My concern is that if there is any problem, then the local dealer should take the responsibility as he is a family of Honda.

I purchased a new, 2022 Honda Ridgeline Black Edition just a little over two weeks ago. When my vehicle was less than two weeks old, with under 500kms it began throwing warning lights. The awd stopped working and my heater shut down entirely (in minus 30 weather). I was getting a total of eight different warning lights and I couldnt move my electric seats to be able to drive safely. Once I got my vehicle home it would no longer start. I figured no big deal, my vehicle hasnt even gone through its first tank of gas, Honda has a great reputation and will take care of me. I have never been so wrong about a manufacturer and have never felt so unappreciated as a customer. It took days to even get my vehicle towed. Ive now spent the past five days on the phone talking with over a dozen different people. Every person I spoke with said it was a different department or persons responsibility. Literally just passing the buck back and forth between Honda Customer Relations, Honda Roadside Assistance and the dealership. I even had my call dropped at one point. After being juggled around for days I finally demanded to speak to a supervisor at Honda Customer Relations. Customer relations told me that supervisors dont speak on the phone with customers. I thought I must have misheard what I was being told. I can buy a forty dollar watch from China and get a supervisor on the phone but not for a new vehicle? I spent 60k on a vehicle two weeks ago (though I havent actually been able to drive it for nearly half the duration of ownership) and Honda Canada doesnt even value me enough as a customer to allow me to speak to someone above the person answering the phone. I was told the only way I would be able to speak to a supervisor is if I was injured or if my vehicle injured someone else. Theyre lucky that I was able to pilot my heater less vehicle from a near laying position back to my house without injuring someone. I however, was not so lucky, as apparently an accident is the only way that you rate high enough to speak to someone with an answer other than we dont take care of that or its someone elses responsibility. Thats what it ultimately comes down to...caring. Honda obviously no longer cares if its customers are safe or remotely satisfied. My vehicle is sitting at the dealership 170kms away from my home, after it broke down due to no fault of my own. Not my fault but my problem. Hondas suggestion was either rent a vehicle on my dollar or talk to my insurance company about getting a rental. Honda Canada, as you have made blatantly clear at this point, your (technically my, though I dont actually have possession) malfunctioning, unsafe vehicle has become solely my problem after I signed on the dotted line. I however, will never buy another Honda and I will let everyone who will hear it know that Honda no longer stands behind their product and definitely not their customer. This has been unequivocally the worst buying experience Ive had to date. Im sitting here in utter disbelief, sick to my stomach trying to figure out how to get my new vehicle back home. I recommend that if youre shopping for a new vehicle that you dont just assume that Honda still stands for reliability and customer service as I had. Look into the customer complaints, class action lawsuits and youll likely figure out that Honda has adopted the money first, customer last stance that so many manufacturers are moving towards. Let my expensive mistake guide you away from a company that no longer embodies what used to be synonymous with Honda...Trust. Youll pay the Honda premium, theyll pocket your dollars, take your trust, crumple it up and toss it along side you into the trash. I may not speak for all your customers but I think all those youve tossed aside would agree...We arent asking for better.. were demanding it!

I have a 2004 Honda Accord that I bought brand-new. I have always had all routine maintenance completed at a Honda dealership. I had the timing belt replaced ($1,000) within the 7-year time period, hoping to avoid any serious damage if it ever broke. Right after that, I had to replace the power steering pump ($500), because it went bad at 70,000 miles. Now at 83,000 miles, my transmission has gone out; and I am having to spend $4,000 to have that replaced. I have always taken very good care of this car. I bought it, because of Hondas reputation and hoped it would last me a long time before any major repairs were needed. I have read about numerous complaints and recalls for the transmission, so this leads me to believe Honda isnt what I once thought it was. I will not buy another one, even though I love my car. Its not worth what I have had to spend.

2019 HRV Have been happy with it. Infotainment center has always given me a problem. When turning on right blinker Apple car play turns off. Using steering wheel to change display doesn’t work. Constantly lost signal in middle of driving for no reason. Brought in more than once to fix it and all they did was reset it which only made me have to reset stations. Now nothing works on the system. They have no idea how long it will take to get entire audio system back in stock. So now The car I bought to have Apple Car play and maps does nothing. Can’t use phone charger. Can’t use Bluetooth. Nothing but a blinking H for who knows how long. I feel like I have not a full car. Finally ready to go on road trip and the things I bought for safer trips and doesn’t work. Bought the touring for all the infotainment and now have nothing. Paid for infotainment and now have nothing with no end in sight. Would not buy again because of this. Would sell now but wouldn’t get moneys worth because of it. 2019 HRV not worth it if you want a working radio or car charger or map.

My 2019 Honda Civic, brand new 3 weeks ago, has been in the Honda service department 7 times for the same problem. The low tire pressures warning light goes on after 2 days driving out of the service department. I have been given 7 different explanations & as many attempted repairs... Down to new tires. The problem is still NOT resolved. I bought this car for my teenage daughter because of its purported reliability & safety. The last time it arrived to the shop with a flat tire due to “manufacturing defect”! 1 of the 4 tires was replaced. Today they are saying a 2nd tire needs replacing. Would you allow your teenage daughter to drive this car? I am extremely distressed and she has spent more of her college summer break waiting at the dealer! This situation meets the trifecta of the LEMON LAW criteria. This vehicle is unreliable & downright dangerous.

Finally was able to get this horrendous situation rectified but I had to take the car to another Honda dealer to do so. Scott Honda, in West Chester PA, was able to quickly diagnose that there was a faulty bearing in the transmission and as such ended up replacing the transmission. ROBERTS HONDA had thr car for 3 weeks and did not diagnose the problem and they gave it back to me with it still making the noise loud and clear. Very good experience with Scott Honds though. Theyre team is very knowledgable, organized and customer service oriented. Only time will tell how well this car holds up but either way Scott Honda definitely has a fan in me!

Since my car was new. At 300 miles, I discovered all the fluids were below the recommended marks. The car was never PDId and Honda acknowledged this. At 600 miles, the power steering and engine have been vibrating/making noise. Honda inspected my car several times and it was not until the car was over 2000 miles that they decided to replace the power steering pump. The vibration, they said it was all fixed and done. Honda was supposed to re-inspect the car in early February 2012. I am still waiting for a call from Chris, my case manager. The car is still vibrating at idle; the power steering is still making noises and also vibrates. Front suspension, which was also a problem at 300 miles (according to the dealer who tightened bolts) is still making noises and vibrates. This is a brand new car, and now, at little over 6000 miles, I am ready to get rid of it and take legal actions against American Honda. I have all the documentation from each dealer/mechanic visit.I also have all telephone conversations with Honda (I work in the customer service/hospitality industry and I cannot switch this off for Hondas case manager) and I am scheduled to have a specialized engineer inspect my car for faults to pursue legal actions. I feel unsafe driving my car to work everyday. I am very frustrated and disappointed with Honda and it makes me very sad that simple communications are not even happening between Honda and me.

We have been a Honda family for many years. However, we have purchased our last Honda. In the last 5 years, we have purchased two Honda Accords. BOTH cars ran out of oil and damaged the engines. Honda tells us that the oil light only comes on when you are completely out of oil??? Well, by then, its too late. The first Accord, they put in a new engine for $3,000.00. Right before the warranty expired... it ran out of oil again. They fixed the engine, we sold the car and bought another Accord. On this particular model, Honda KNEW that oil consumption was a problem. Our car ran out of oil and did some damage to the engine. This happened 1,000 miles past the warranty date. Honda would NOT make good on this problem and wanted us to pay another $3,000.00 to fix this engine. We filed a claim with American Honda, and they said they would not pay AND that this car had a fix put on it because it had a recall for the oil consumption problem. We are now TOYOTA buyers.

I am Raj ** and I am working in a private company. I purchased a new Honda bike to sell our house which is in Delhi. I purchased a Honda Shine from Race Honda Patpargani, New Delhi. Date of sale was August 14,2011. But it is not running straight on the road, there is a problem bubbling in my bike. I checked the bike the next day, August 15, 2011.In the showroom, they loose the screw of the handle and told me that my bike was okay. But the problem is the same. When I went back there the next day, August 17, 2011, I asked why is it having the same problem. The showroom manager told me that I should go to their workshop. So I went to the workshop on August 24, 2011 and met the workshop manager, Mr Ashwani **. He told me that the rear rim found the band because of the speed breaker and digs, he said they cannot do anything for me and I have to pay around Rs 3,700 for it. I was shocked when I heard it. Then I decided to complain to the Honda Bike Company. The telephone numbers are 2290911, 2290912, 2290913. I do not feel good about them, compared to other companys customer care. But after all that, one Honda engineer Mr. Umesh came, I was hoping he could help me. But he was so busy with his cellphone and he didnt listen to a single word I said, he just told me that my bike is not under warranty so I need to pay for the repair. The parking charge was Rs50 extra, so I was so unhappy that I asked him why do I have to pay for parking and a rim. Then he told me that I have purchased a Honda bike, and that he will not give me a favor. After all that, I think I took the wrong decision to purchase a Honda Shine. My bike is still in the workshop. What can I do now. Can I fire myself?

Honda had a recall on their power steering hose because these leaked. Mine actually developed a leak so bad that the fluid leaked onto the exhaust and created so much smoke that my wife thought the car was on fire (she was driving it alone). She did make it home and I let it cool down and checked the situation. All of the fluid had leaked out and after refilling it, the power steering pump made a terrible noise. We got Honda to replace the hose under the recall but they refused to replace the pump because they said that after the 36,000-mile warranty... too bad basically. They seemed to agree that the faulty hose caused the fluid to all leak out which in turn ruined the pump but refused to cover it. We were thinking of buying a new Accord until this. If they admit to making a crappy part, they should cover everything that is damaged by that part.

I bought a new car Honda HR-V 2018 at Honda auto plaza mall (Nostrand avenue in Brooklyn). I dont know that is going on but this car has been giving me so much problem. This car stopped with me in the middle of road. Sometime the steering wheel just locked when I am driving and the dash just went black. I brought it to Honda but nothing got done cause it is still giving me the same problem. They want me to keep driving it like that cause they cannot figure out the issue. I left the car with them until they can fix it. If you love yourself and your family do not buy this car. I cannot keep risking my life and the life of my family driving that car. I could understand if I bought a used car but I bought a new car. Hope this review will help you in your decision. Please see video.

I bought my Honda CRV in August 2015. For health reasons, the vehicle was not driven a lot for about a year. Now it has 21,000 miles on it and needs to have the brakes and rotors replaced. I have always owned a Honda and NEVER had to replace brakes, even after four years. This is ridiculous. I am told this is what happens with Honda CRVs (like that makes it ok). I will not buy another CRV when it is a known issue that brake pads wear out so quickly. I heard I will have to replace rear brake pads three times before I ever have to do the front. PISSED.

I purchase this vehicle in the Spring of 2007 at Honda of Midlands in Columbia SC with 56,000 miles... this was a certified used vehicle with 7 years or 120,000 miles warranty, I purchase the service warranty and religiously took it to the sister dealer in my city. About Mid Feb 2017 I took it for service and they need it to check my engine light as it was on. The tech check the pressure of my cylinders and found #2 to have coolant coming from the wall of the engine. Also, need to repair my seals and other miscellaneous items. Little that I know that the tech found a crack between the wall of the coolant and the engine block thus needing a new engine. Granted I have 158,000 miles on it and no longer has a warranty. Honda told me NO canNOT help me and the dealer ask me for $5,000 for a used re manufactured engine. This is not my first honda as I own also a Honda Civic EX with over 200,000 miles own it. The Service Manager told them that this was a rare occurrence maybe 1 in 10,000 which doesnt help me. I opted for them NOT to repair it and I picked up in pieces sitting in my garage waiting for a new engine. Im not happy nor I want to buy a new one anymore.

I am a very frustrated owner of Honda Accord 2.0 VTi-L, Full Spec, VTEC with plate no **, registered in Penang, Malaysia. Ive been maintaining my vehicle in your service center namely KAH Motor located in Sungai Pinang, Penang, Malaysia. Six months back, I had complained about sounds from the bottom of my car bonnet. The service engineer helped to check, but could not find the root cause of the sound. Id sent my car for checking for 3 times during the past 6 months, no results. Finally, a month back they told me they found the cause. But, the spare parts need to be ordered from others. They said theyd filed a complaint to Honda HQ and the warranty claim has been approved, spare part should be arriving within 1st week of Apr.12. Sadly, they did not update me even after 15/4/12. When I called up, they said the spare part had not arrived and they do not know when it is arriving. What an irresponsible answer?! They didnt even bother to highlight my problem to their top management and get my case solved. After all, Ive been waiting for 6 months to confirm the root cause of the sounds. And now, another infinity date to wait for the repairs?! This is totally unacceptable! I am a heavy user of this vehicle and I need to be safe on the road. I need this to be resolved.
