Volkswagen Automobile Model 2025 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport

2025 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport

What is the 2025 Atlas Cross Sport

The Atlas Cross Sport is a two-row, five-seat midsize SUV variant of the larger Atlas — designed for buyers who want SUV practicality but don’t need a third row.

Compared with the three-row Atlas, the Cross Sport has a more sloped rear roofline and a sportier/coupe-SUV styling.

Powertrain & Performance

Engine: 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder (TSI), making 269 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque

Transmission: 8-speed automatic.

Drivetrain: Available in front-wheel drive (FWD) or with Volkswagen’s 4MOTION all-wheel-drive (AWD) system.

Performance: Estimated 0–60 mph in about 6.7–6.9 seconds (for typical spec).

Towing: When properly equipped, the Cross Sport can tow up to 5,000 lbs — enough for light trailers, boats, or small campers.

Interior & Cargo / Practicality

Seating: 5 seats total — two front seats, a comfortable rear bench.

Cargo space: About 77.6 cubic feet with the rear seats folded down (or specified cargo volume around that figure).

Cabin space: Rear-seat legroom, headroom, and general comfort are reasonable for a midsize SUV; comfortable for adults front and rear in typical use.

Layout benefits: Because there’s no third row, the rear cargo floor tends to be flatter and cargo space more usable — good for bikes, luggage, and gear over bigger, three-row SUVs.

Fuel Economy & Running Costs

EPA / official combined fuel economy for many trims is around 22–23 mpg (combined); city ~19–20 mpg, highway ~26 mpg (varies by drivetrain and driving conditions).

For its size and capability (power + towing potential), this is a fairly balanced trade-off between performance and efficiency — not as frugal as compact SUVs, but reasonable for a turbo-powered midsize.

Features, Comfort & Tech

The Cross Sport lineup offers a wide range of trims/options: from relatively modest to well-equipped with modern comforts and tech.

Higher trims (or optional packages) provide nice features such as better upholstery, more refined interior finishes, possibly amenities like ventilated/heated seats, and more convenience features — which make the Cross Sport feel more premium.

Because it sacrifices third-row seating for style and cargo flexibility, the cabin layout stays more SUV-like but manageable in size — easier to park and maneuver than many larger three-row SUVs.

Strengths & Best-Fit Use Cases

Strengths:

Balanced power from a modern turbo engine — adequate for daily driving, highway merging, and light towing.

Good towing capacity (5,000 lbs) for a midsize SUV — useful for trailers, boats, or weekend gear.

Spacious cargo area (with seats down) and practical rear-seat comfort for five people.

More efficient (fuel economy + size) than full-size SUVs, yet still offering SUV-class features and utility.

Good middle ground: blends SUV practicality and versatility with more manageable size and cost than large three-row models.

Stylish crossover-SUV design for those who don’t need third-row seating but want SUV looks and feel.

Best-Fit Use Cases:

Small families or couples needing space for gear, groceries, trips, but rarely needing seats for 7.

Buyers wanting SUV versatility (cargo + towing + comfort) without committing to full-size SUV price/size.

People who tow small trailers, boats, or haul gear occasionally (camping, boating, small camper).

Drivers who value a balance: not a compact car, but also not an oversized SUV — easier to drive in urban environments while maintaining utility.

Anyone who prioritizes cargo/gear space and comfort over maximum passenger capacity.

Trade-offs & What to Know

Only five seats: no third row — means less flexibility if you often carry more than five people.

With all seats up, cargo is limited; while folding rear seats helps, it may not match a full-size SUV’s maximum capacity.

Not as fuel-efficient as small cars or compact crossovers — partly the trade-off for power and towing capability.

Because it’s turbo-4, heavy towing or fully loaded driving might strain the engine more than a big-engine SUV — potential performance compromise when maxing out capacity.

If you frequently need more than five seats (e.g. for larger families or carpooling), the lack of a third row might be limiting.

Bottom line: The 2025 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport is a solid pick if you want the “SUV life” — power, cargo space, towing readiness — but don’t need the bulk (or third-row seating) of a full-size SUV. It hits a sweet spot between versatility, practicality, and everyday usability.

On March 16, 2012, my daughter purchased a 2009 VW Tigua from Herman Cook, VW, Inc., 1435 Encinitas Blvd., Encinitas, CA 92024. Since then, the vehicle has had numerous problems, and has cost her thousands of dollars in repairs at VW dealerships in Southern California. She has followed due diligence in having the car serviced, but has continued to have costly repairs. Listed below are the issues.June 27, 2012, only three months after purchasing vehicle, paid $290.95 at Volkswagen Santa Monica (Invoice **) for: front headlamp, engine oil service, balance 4 wheels, brake fluid replace and bleed. August 29, 2012, paid $237.30 at Volkswagen Santa Monica (Invoice **) for: removed and replaced driver side HID light bulb. June 7, 2013 paid $50 (deductible) at McKenna Volkswagen for: right headlight (Invoice **). April 22, 2014, paid $382.65 at McKenna Volkswagen (Invoice (**) for : bulb (N-103-201-02), perform campaign # **. Recall Fuse (Plug-in position F 16), 40,000 mile service (non-turbo). November 21, 2014, paid $241.71 at McKenna Volkswagen (Invoice **) for : 013 campaign/recall 4515 CV burned out turning light bulb N-103-201-02 bulb, and 50,000 mile service.September 5, 2015, paid $3,075.52 at McKenna Volkswagen (Invoice **) for Perform Intake valves De-Carb, 03511 optimizer 2 Pack, flush AC system and replace AC compressor, condenser and expansion valve, recharge AC system, replace wiper blades, replace rear brake pads, replace right brake lights, cornering lights, and bumper marker bulb (3 total bulbs replaced for this invoice). Invoice states EST: 1,069 31AUG15 13:34 SA: 1692). I believe there are major issues with design of engine that caused sludge to build up in engine at low mileage, and also poor AC design that caused compressor to come apart and cause tiny metal particles to infect the entire AC system that resulted in over $1,600 of AC repair.June 3, 2016, paid $2,465.90 at McKenna Volkswagen (Invoice **) for replaced left outside brake light, replace leaking water pump and coolant, perform complete coolant system flush exchange, replaced leaking valve cover, vacuum pump gasket, upper timing cover and CAM sensor seal, replaced front brake pads, replaced 2 tires and balance new tires, front end align, perform oil change and filter.Today, August 13, 2016, as I was preparing this communication, my daughter texted me to say that the cars message system is now telling her that now something is wrong with the parking brake, and that another light needs to be fixed. This never ends, and the car is a lemon that has numerous faulty issues. Therefore, in four years of purchasing this used previously owned vehicle from a Volkswagen dealer, the lemon car has cost an additional $6,744.03. My daughter has been very diligent about taking the car in for routine service, but the additional costs are totally unacceptable and she, as a part-time working single mother with a 3-year old child, cannot continue to afford what I consider design flaw costs for the 2009 Volkswagen Tigua.

My VW Jetta has some trouble starting today. So I took it to VW of Coconut Creek, FL to have it checked out. They said they would charge me $138.50 for diagnosis and if I get the device done after that, they would apply this charge against the service. They found the problem with my battery and replaced it, however they didn’t deduct the diagnosis charge from final invoice. They charged me ~$300 ($147 for new battery, $138.50 for diagnosis and test shop supplies, misc and tax). When I asked, they said the$138.50 was for installing the battery and setting it up. That is just bizarre. They just made up something to charge me more. I am reporting this so people are aware of this practice and avoid using this dealer as much as possible.

I hit a small deer one month ago (drivers side light, hood, quarter panel). The insurance paid for the body work, but not for a spastic, drivers side door. The car (VW 2002 Golf TDI) thinks the door is open all the time and alerts me. When I turn on the lights at night, the alert screams at me. The dealership, which Allstate Insurance made me tow the car to, says this happens to the door all the time even if you hit a pothole and jar the car. The dealership is a 3-hr round trip from where I live and there is a certified VW mechanic in the next town from me, but Allstate wouldnt let me take it there. I told the adjuster and dealership that nothing was wrong before the accident, but they say it is something that happens on VWs a lot. Why isnt there a recall on this if it is so prevalent. And if hitting a pothole could cause this problem, why wouldnt an accident do so also? I will never buy another VW. I have put a lot of money into this car (VW maintenance costs a lot!). Its a 2002 model, but I had a Honda that I drove for 20 years before any major money had to put into it. This has been a nightmare not having a car for a month and living in a rural area.

In October 2016 I registered my 2013 VW Jetta TDI with VW as a buyback. As soon as requested I submitted copies of registration, drivers licenses and lien holder info. About a month later (definitely not within the qp days VW was supposed to respond). I got a final offer letter. I signed the correct places, had it notarized and faxed it on as directed. Two weeks and two phone calls later to customer support the status remained as waiting for fax. So I faxed the documents again. Another wasted phone call to CS to find out why they dont/cant acknowledge receiving my fax... Then I get an email stating I didnt send all pages of my offer. So back to another fax ($8) every time. Twenty four hours later status is waiting for fax... I have transmission receipt showing all 7 pages were successfully sent. Another call to CS and again they give me a non answer... I have no way of knowing. VW is stalling. What is our next recourse?

They have customers at their mercy because no one can afford to risk they damage the car before the buyback. I thought I was smart and bought a new car and stored my car at the VW Dealer. I have had my leg cut open by the change compartment that sits very close to the door on the dashboard, it ripped open my leg on two occasions within a year. This is caused a dramatic amount of blood loss, a very deep laceration and several rides in the ambulance to the local medical facility. The edges on this compartment are seriously sharp. VW needs to make some changes. My husband is literally going to permanently secure this compartment that it is not accessible. I have owned this car since 2016 with 9k miles when I bought it and now I have 27k. I do not drive it a lot. This is most definitely a hazard and health issue! Please correct. Please call me if need be.

I dont like Aquarius looking cars and this car is rounded on all its exterior chassis. I also liked the features for what I was purchasing. It felt like a quality care with quality accouterments at an affordable price. A good value for the money, indeed. However, I would like to see the Volkswagen in general including mine get better gas mileage. It is a 4.0 engine and should be getting a lot better mileage than its currently being. Very disappointing.

Expensive repairs after 60,000 miles. Most of the VW 2.0 liter TBI engines are known for water pump failures. IN December 2019, VW added an extended warranty to your car you probably do not know about. If you take your car to the dealer for the warranty extension repair, they will probably tell that oil leaks, another VW problem, caused the pump to fail, and they wont honor the warranty. Now if you already paid to have your water pump replaced, you need to join the class-action lawsuit for compensation. It is ridiculous that a vehicle with 68,000 should need $4,000 worth of oil leaks and water pump repairs. This is another known problem that VW does not want to address so I would recommend selling that vehicle before the warranty expires.

My 1st car was a mark 1 Golf, purchased November of 1984. In 7 years, I racked up 300,000 km and it served me very well. Since then, I have owned a Golf TDI, 2 Eurovans, Passatt TDI wagon, a V6 Touareg, a Jetta TDI wagon, 2 Beetles, a Golf R & a Tiguan in addition to an Audi A4 & Q5. Sure there was maintenance required, a few repairs and issues that required warranty claims, some that were not covered, but the value of ownership outweighed the costs.By enlarge, my VWs have been reliable, practical and most of all fun to drive and own. I appreciate the thoughtful design and top quality engineering that goes into all VW products. They are worth every penny of their asking price!

They say its because of the age of my car and being 4 years out of warranty. I replied that warranty or no warranty this is a design flaw and should be covered by VW. Now, my trade-in value is decreased because of this issue. They dont stand behind their product and apparently, dont care about losing customers.

Everyone’s opinion and experience with VW is absolutely true. AS I was shopping for a new car I did my research on all the cars I was interested in. I came across reviews for VW they were all negative. I took in reviews into consideration, however, I thought to myself that some people just like to complain. My bad y’all. I should have listened and ran the other way. This unethical company is the scums of scums. I bought a brand new 2018 GTI in July of this year. I was treated very very poorly at David Maus VW South. They even charged me for a $600 package that’s suppose to be free, all because the car was transferred from their sister lot David Maus on LEE Rd. A few days after having the car the visor underneath the sunroof retracts on its own. I constantly have to keep pulling it forward, warning light came on saying it cannot detect the key fob. Mind you the key fob is in the cup holder. As of 09/19/2018 the “one touch feature that opens the sunroof stop working. Now I have to open the sunroof manually. Ok y’all so how bout I’m driving on 2 separate occasions when I press the break the lights flicker and the car shuts off!! So in conclusion VW are unethical, criminals, and soon they will be labeled as MURDERS. How can I feel safe in my car when ** like this is happening. DO NOT BUY A VW. If you choose not to listen you might be righting a review like the rest of us.

The GTI is one of the best all around cars on the market today as far as overall versatility. It may not be the best in any singular category (performance, mpg, comfort, etc.), but it’s cumulatively better than 90-95% of the cars that it competes against. The GTI’s changes over the model years have been subtle with VW finely tuning & refining a proven & successful platform. I’ve owned cars that were more luxurious, had more performance, were much more aesthetically pleasing design-wise...yet, the 5 GTIs that I own/have owned, have never failed to provide me with an exhilarating drive.

I called to set up a payment on a Monday for the following Friday. The CSR even repeated the dates to me. The payment was put in for the next day instead of that Friday resulting in an overdraft with a fee. I called back on that Friday and explained what they had done and asked the CSR again if she was sure that they werent going to try to take the first payment out again before I set up a new one. She assured me that they would not so I went ahead and set up the payment again. Again, she was clueless because they did indeed try to now take out 2 payments! This caused another overdraft fee and a stop payment for the second payment. I called again and they stated that they needed a copy of my bank statement proving the $88.00 in fees so I faxed them the statement and called back 3 days later. The payment had not been processed and the CSR had to place me on hold for 10 minutes to go find the fax! He assured me that a check would go out to me that day. Well, that was 5 days ago so I called back today and another CSR manager apologized and stated that somehow it didnt get send to the correct department for approval so she would take care of it today. Very poor customer service to say the least and I wont be recommending them to others.

I purchased my 2014 Volkswagen CC in September of 2014. I was so excited to join the VW family. I leased this vehicle to get my feet wet and determine if I would be a lifelong VW customer. Well, in 2016 while driving down one of Houstons busiest freeways my car stalled and I was just barely able to pull to the side of the road. I had to have my vehicle towed to the dealership where they kept it for 4 days. They replaced multiple parts, it seemed fine. The very next morning I got up and the car wouldnt start. I had to have it sent back to VW in which they discovered an issue with the fuel pump module. After replacing this part, I drove it back home and the next day it wouldnt start again, maybe the third time is a charm. I had it towed back to VW and they replaced the battery. Less than a year later with my son in the car, the vehicle died again. Luckily I wasnt struck by another vehicle. I had it towed to the nearest VW service center in which they told me it was the fuel module again, but it was out of warranty and I would have to go through VW cares to see about getting it replaced or I would be responsible for an 1,800 repair bill. Well, after going back and forth with them they agreed to replace the part. Can you imagine how unsettling and scary it is to drive a vehicle that has such a huge safety issue and recall with no permanent fix. Well, this weekend I was driving down the freeway and the vehicle stopped again, I was blessed enough to pull to safety. My 10 year old son was in the back seat praying we wouldnt get hit. I had the vehicle towed to VW Saturday night at 8pm, so I was without a vehicle for the entire Easter weekend and couldnt get my son to his obligations. Monday morning I received a call from service advises, my brake fluid was green, the control arm bushings were cracked/dry rot and I needed an alignment totaling 1,000+ in expenses. The service rep stated this was just the beginning, but there was also several transmission codes and the diagnostic would be 135 to see exactly whats wrong with the vehicle. I told her to go ahead that was at 9am, its now 6:30 pm and I have yet to hear anything. I called around 3:00 pm to be told the clutch was out and they were trying to get me a quote for a transmission and to expect my service rep to call before end of day. Well, I am truly disappointed in the service, maintenance and overall Volkswagen CC. I will list all parts Ive had replaced on the vehicle and estimated repair costs since Ive had the vehicle. Ribbed belt. Tensioner. Valve. Separator. Mounting. Bearing. Turbo valve and crankcase breather leaking oil. Washer. Fuel unit. Control un. Battery. Battery disposal fee. I have not added the additional services that Ive had in the past 6 months.

UNFAIR! I was an outstanding VW client and yet, VW was UNFAIR and DISCRIMINATORY to me! I leased a VW Jetta three years ago. I made all of my payments and have paid my vehicle down to its residual. I called VW credit and got a payoff and the payoff is my residual plus a $350 purchase option charge as my contract states. Upon wanting to trade my car in the facility, I called VW to verify the written payoff amount and to my great surprise, the payoff was $1,300 higher, therefore, reducing MY trade-in value by $1,300! I contracted for 45,000 miles but drove the car only 28,000 miles. Reminder... I paid for those miles with a lower residual and higher payments! My daughter bought a similar Jetta about the same time and sold it to the same dealership I was attempting to. VW credit honored her written payoff that was her residual value plus remaining payments not yet due, less unearned finance charges plus purchase option. No GREEDY increase! I am only asking VW credit to allow me to trade my lease in for what I have paid it down to. I feel I earned at least that by being an outstanding customer and making every payment perfectly on time. But VW HAS DISCRIMINATED AGAINST ME and not treated me fair like they did in my daughters case. Did VW treat her fair because she is an attorney? I plan on never doing business with VW in the future! Plus, Im sure if theyre doing this to me, theyve done it to others. So I am seriously considering starting a class action suit!

Faulty seat recliner - I have owned a new Gold Cabriolette for nearly a year now. I love it, except for one repetitive and irritating fault - the seat release to swing the seat forward to move so you can access the rear seats is made of a plastic material attached to a metal shaft that releases the seat mechanism. The connection between the plastic handle and the metal shaft is continually breaking. When this occurs, you cannot access the rear seats as the seats will not move. You must return again and again to have VW dealer reattach the handle to shaft. What an absurd mechanism. Why cant they have one metal handle shaft that does not break every time you touch it?

I knew I would be pulling a small trailer & ATV under 1500 lbs very infrequently. This package came with the 7 pin wiring harness so one would expect it to actual work trailer lights. I go to hook up the trailer, see the wiring harness but cant figure out how to hook it up. They had me bring it in and tried to hook it up. I then found out I had to spend an additional $400 to reprogram the entire vehicle, add a control module, & mounting hardware. I worked for VW for years & loved the product. I have referred many friends and family to VW. That has now changed. I gave them a chance to help out with the extra cost and they flat out denied to help even in a small amount. This put a very sour taste in my mouth and I will never refer another person to them. Emich is a great dealership but go to their Chevy store not VW. Volkswagen is a greedy, cheating, company that nickel and dimes their clients for any little thing they can. Never again will buy their product & will do everything to advise others against it as well. I dont think it is crazy to expect a 7 pin wiring harness to actually work the one purpose it is designed to work.

I bought a brand new 2019 Beetle and noticed it had a bunch of things wrong right off the bat. One of the speaker lights didnt work, the manual seat sinks after a few hours, and the A/C button doesnt work properly. I am 3.5 hours away from a Volkswagen dealership so it takes me 7 hours round trip to service it. I have to do 2 seven hour trips per service because they never fix it in one day. So far I have had to make that round trip 4 times and they still have not fixed the issues other than the speaker light. I dont have time or patience anymore to take many days off for nothing. The product is poorly put together and the service is HORRIBLE, at least at South Motors in Miami, FL.

Lost my only remote and key for my Volkswagen 2010 Golf. Recently purchase this car and the Remote/key worked perfect. I lost the remote and Remote/key a couple of days ago. Went to the Bozzani Volkswagen in Covina California, and order a new Remote/key for $300 plus. The key was ready in 2 business days and my car was towed to the dealer so Remote/key can be programmed. The Remote/key was program by the dealer. The remote didnt worked, but the key was able to start the car. The dealer told me that most likely was a wiring problem and they need to run a diagnostics on the car. How can that be? If the original Remote/key worked just fine. Im getting ready to contact the dealer again and tell them that I cant pay for the diagnostics since seems that the problem is the way the programmed the key. They really need to take care of this issue. They are responsible since they programmed the Remote/key. I will update this review once I contact the dealer again and see what they are planning to do about this issue. If they take care of the issue I definitely will give them a good review.

I come from a family of people that buy and purchase VWs. So naturally I bought one. However, I have had issues with my 2009 VW GTI (purchased brand new) since the start. When I first purchased my VW, there was a fuel issue, and they replaced it. Then there was a filter that stunk like mold, they replaced it. Then there was a recall on part of my transmission, they replaced it. My car started hesitating on the freeway when I accelerated, right after the recall replacement. I should have known by this time that the car needed to be traded, but I was stupid. I thought its a VW, they are great cars and so much fun to drive! Everything at this point got even worse. My battery died, or so I thought. I took it to VW and they told me that I needed a new computer. Somehow, insurance covered this and I ONLY had to pay my $500 deductible. I informed them that my car kept hesitating on the freeway. They said to drive it a certain amount of miles and it should reset. I did, and it didnt reset. After a few weeks, I took it back to the dealership. They said I need a new valve that was several hundred dollars. I called VW of America and they offered to pay for half, since it was a defect. Several weeks went by and the car started doing the same thing again. I took it back to the dealership they said its a valve that needs to be replaced. They covered the cost of the valve because it was part of the original issue. I picked it up. The next day, the engine light went off again, and the car was still hesitating. After several days, I called the dealership. They told me it was bad gas and to refuel it and drive around. I did this. After several days, I again took the car back to the dealership. This time, they said it was another valve, and they replaced it. They also told me that if the engine code came on again that they would have to replace the turbo. So now they are telling me that I need a new turbo and have to pay $2200.00. Everything else they were willing to cover because it was part of the covered recall issue, but now that its $2200.00 I have to pay for it. I called VW of America to see if they could help. The woman said that they arent going to pay for it and that its not their responsibility. I said, Thats funny because you knew it was your responsibility up until it was $2200.00. She told me that is her final decision, there was no one above her and thats it. I now have a car that needs new turbo... I am beyond upset and will never buy or drive a VW again! I am trying to sell my piece of crap because I cant even look at it with getting pissed off. The woman by the way did offer me a $750 credit towards a new VW. I have to admit I was speechless. She was willing to give me $750 towards a new car, but not towards my problem that I called about???? Thats ridiculous.

I purchased my 2009 Volkswagen cc at 72000 miles on November 2014. The same day I drove home I had a CEL turn on and off, I took it back, and the dealer changed 1 coil wire that was about to go bad. Thanks. Soon after (month later), my fuel pump and fuel pump module went out. I called and they said, No warranty. I went and purchased, 650 dollars with installation at brother in laws shop. Cheaper than dealer by $500. Then at 112000 miles my transmission went out. No warranty of course. That was 5k to replace and install. This was in March 2016. In April my fuel injector was misfiring. Replaced all injectors. Then in March 2017 my throttle body went out. No help all this time from VW group of America. Worthless to be honest. Now in October 2017 my fan went unbalanced. No more VW for me EVER!!!

I have a 2007 VW Jetta with 200,000 km. It has corrosion, to the point of holes in the metal, on all 4 wheel fenders, the rocker panel, and on the bottom of the drivers side door. When shopping for a vehicle I bought this car new and choose it over the Honda Civic. My fiances cousin currently has a 2004 Honda Civic with 300,000 km and absolutely no corrosion.VW Canada is not honoring the Corrosion Warranty because I cannot prove the corrosion was caused internally. They are claiming it is due to external factors, which is impossible to prove considering the location of the corrosion. When I called to request the claim be reassessed they refused to do so and VW Customer Care refused to let me speak with anyone that had the power to make the decision to have the corrosion claim reassessed.I definitely will not purchase another VW based on this experience and I would recommend to everyone I know as well that they consider other brands instead. Had VW honored the warranty I would feel differently, but they used an excuse to not honor it and apparently there is no way for me to speak to anyone involved in the decision. The VW Customer Care department is the only group you can speak to and they claim they have no power with these decisions and they are all final. Please note as well that this vehicle was bought and used in Alberta which is a very dry province where vehicle dont normally rust let alone corrode.

Five times I have had to send the same legible document, except to anyone who is legally blind, to them. Finally after at least 10 attempts, I got someone on their 800 number. She was polite but totally in the dark as to what is going on and totally unhelpful. VW keeps telling me to hit the non-showing, if non-existent chat button on their e-mail and portal. I bought a 2010 VW Jetta TDI Sportwagen because rumor has it that the VW diesel vehicles are solid cars that get good MPG. My car gets decent MPG but the inferior quality of the car more than cancels out any savings I may have had on fuel. Oct 2012 - The fuel pump imploded. $6,600 worth of damage. Aug 2013 - EGR valve = bad. Had to be replaced. $709.53 out of pocket. Sept 2013 - Diesel particulate filter = bad. Had to be replaced. EGR valve had to be replaced AGAIN. $1,714.80 out of pocket. Apr 2014 - Car in limp mode. Turbo = bad. $1,689.94 out of pocket. July 2014 - Diesel particulate filter bad AGAIN. EGR valve bad for a 3rd time in 12 months. Estimate $2,200 out of pocket. August 2014 - Air Condition stopped working. Estimate $1,700 out of pocket.

I have a 2011 Volkswagen Golf TDI, which I bought new. Its one of the Diesel cars that VW was found to have lied about. About a year ago I signed up for the VW TDI settlement program and planned to turn in my TDI this fall. Now, to add insult to injury, the High Pressure Fuel Pump has failed, which I am told is catastrophic and will now cost $4500 to repair. Unless I repair the car I will not be eligible to turn the car back to VW or be able to have them retrofit it so that I may continue driving it. The car has 124,000 miles on it and the extended warranty, which I was not informed of, expired at 120000 miles, just a few months ago. I was never informed that there was an issue with VW fuel pumps. Apparently, the High Pressure Fuel Pump was the subject of a federal investigation which I never heard about. Further, Volkswagen has paid for this repair on vehicles outside the extended warranty period. A quick web search reveals thousands of these HPFP failures. Please consider looking into this, as VW has set a precedent by paying for these repairs past warranty and now they will not cover mine, leaving me with this huge burden. Thank you.

I bought my 2010 VW CC sport a few months ago. I was pretty happy with it at first. I rolled 60K and took it down to Hallmark (Henderson TN) dealership. I asked for the 60k service that my manual stated it needed which includes the following: oil change, spark plugs and coils change, tire rotation, brake inspection. I paid 300 for all this to be completed. After leaving the dealership my car starts misfiring after only 20 min. I drive it home and called the dealership only to be told CARBON build up in the motor needed to be cleaned. (There is no carbon build up.) I asked for more details and they hung up. So I decided to look into my car and see what they actually did. Lo and behold the spark plugs were still in the car from 2014. They charged me $90 for the tune up that they did not even do. I looked at the coils and it was the same thing. Except the coils were the original 2010 ones. Now my car wont even stay running because of something that they did during their SERVICE. They want to charge me another 1300 for them to re-diagnose the issue and clean the non existent carbon. (The carbon was previously cleaned before taking it to them.) MY advice, do the basic maintenance yourself and dont ever visit this dealership. If I could afford to swap this VW off it would be gone like yesterday.

I bought brand new Volkswagen 2010 from dealership in Kansas City. It was serviced regularly by the VW dealers. One evening, I came back from the work, parked the car in my driveway and next morning, the car would not start. I towed the car to the service center at the dealership and they say it needs a new motor. A 74K mile Volkswagen needs a new motor. I asked the reason and the service manager says oil level was low in the car and the car if out of the warranty now. This car was service by VW dealer in Lees Summit before 3 months of the breakdown, its Check Engine indicator never got turned on, the car does not consume oil and all of a sudden the engine failed. The service center says they serviced the car properly, dealership says its out of manufacturers warranty and I am stuck with this expense of $11000. The car does not have a single dent on its body, its trim, interior is all like a new car but the engine is bad. After spending enormous time talking to the dealership, service center, VW area manager, district manager and all, we concluded that this is the last Volkswagen in my life. And me and my entire family has become a great anti-Volkswagen advocate. Absolutely shameless managers, irresponsible service center and liar manufacturer. We advise all the readers to avoid buying any product of Volkswagen. Buy it if you want to throw away your hard earned money in drain.

I had a really bad experience with my Tiguan bought few months ago from a first-hand. My car is 5 years old and only 50000 km. The car was working fine until it completely stopped in the middle of a busy street. Had to tow it via my insurance and I decided to bring it in the VW garage where the car has always been serviced (having all the previous bills). I informed the garage that my car was getting towed and if they could organize a replacement car. The answer was NO straight away. When I looked at all the car bills a replacement car had always been organized but not for me. I then asked them when will they be able to take care of the car and tell me what is the problem. The reply was, “We are extremely busy. We will have a look probably next week.” After checking their online appointment availability it was clearly showing full availability all over the week but they finally started to look at my car one week later! The diagnostic price being $220 which is just absurd when you know that I will have it fix there. Finally the fuel pump was faulty and had to be replaced for $1500 which I succeed to reduce to $1400. I contacted my previous VW dealership overseas that confirm the fact that this part shouldn’t be faulty at 50000 km and VW should cover the cost. I then decided to open a case with VW Australia. I finally took back my car after 10 days and paid the full price thinking that VW will contact me and listen to me. After explaining to the dealership that I opened a case with VW he became extremely upset and unhappy about my decision. I told him that I didn’t blame him but the car and asked him, “If you were me, would you expect this?“ The answer was, “Then if it was me I would just pay and move on!” I clearly understand then that this dealership doesn’t understand the meaning of customer service or empathy. Then I received the answer from my case which was “From time to time Volkswagen Australia will support our dealers in relation to servicing and repairs. This support is not discussed outside of our dealer network. Should the repairs to your vehicle be deemed as a manufacturing failure, the dealership will liaise with us directly on your behalf. Our support is not initiated at customers request. Please speak with the dealership regarding the diagnosis of your vehicle. They will contact us directly if needed. We will now close your inquiry.” At the beginning I was only upset by having this kind of issue with a low km car but after the experience at this dealership the full experience is a disaster. I am convinced that there is a big lack of consideration from VW Australia and especially from this dealership.

After purchasing a brand new 2019 Atlas, it has been nothing but a nightmare. From cylinders not firing, bad spark plugs, blaming us for putting bad gas in... Now on 3 visits, then a faulty battery which a corporate mechanic had to find. It has been nothing but a disaster! To top it all off, we want to get rid of this LEMON and that has become an even harder process. Not only does this car violate CA law for having multiple issues on a specific part of the car, my 3-year-old has been in the car with me on two separate occasions when it has decided to randomly shut off. VW corporate was not phased by this at all. When purchasing this vehicle, my husband and I turned in a perfectly good, special edition BMW and received this piece of crap! Instead of actually taking care of my family, VW corporate insists that they will only pay us for the difference of the BMW and car payments. Myself, my husband, and my sons life was in jeopardy while driving this car, but clearly empathizing with hard-working decent people is not in this business interest. My family has purchased from VW for over a decade, but that will not happen again. Not only are they not taking care of our needs while trying to split ties with their company, they sent a completely incompetent email to us with false options and that demand we send items to send to them? I am in the business sector and business is not conducted in such a fashion as this.I also want to point out that because the email was so poorly composed, I could press legal matters around the areas addressed. This is a very stern warning that if you are looking to purchase a family vehicle this is a horrific option. I am extremely disappointed with this company and cannot believe they claim to service everyone and will not accommodate those who have been experiencing issue after issue, two being highly dangerous, and do not know the meaning of taking care of loyal customers. Such a shame!!

I leased a new Jetta on November 25th, 2014, from strong VW in Salt Lake City Utah, but the very next day realized I would not be able to financially afford it. I made a big mistake. SO I went back to take the car back the next day on the 26th (I know there would be some fees to pay). The gm basically told me that leasing from them is buying the car, and there is nothing he can do and I have to learn the hard way and take the car. He also stated that the money has already been issued out and they were already paid. Also that taking the car back would be like me working for a day and then telling me that I would not be paid. He kept stating that it wasnt like Walmart, and when I asked him about the early termination statement in the lease he asked for it, and said that he doesnt have one because everything is on the computer and so they dont have a copy of it. BS! Everyone I have shown the contract said that I should be able to return it. The GMs tone of voice was very degrading, I felt very bullied. Also my sister-in-law was there with me and can testify to this. Please help!

The battery died in my 2005 Toureg. I had the car towed on Thursday, Nov. 10th, to Southtown Volkswagen. I called to verify that the car was received and it was. I was also told that it would not be looked at until the following day. So on Friday, I called and they still hadnt looked at it. Then later in the afternoon, they determined that some compass something or other in the roof was staying on and draining the battery. I was told I would need to replace the battery at $350 plus $99 labor charge. I said okay. Then, they said they would check to see if the malfunction compass something or other was covered under my warranty. Of course, it wasnt. I was quoted around $500 for the repair on this. They claimed they ordered the part. However, today Nov 14, 2011, they still havent got the part. Now I am out probably close to $1200 (parts and labor and other ** I am certain they are trying to claim), not to mention the extra money I paid to purchase a warranty. What a waste of money that is. I like the car. It’s too bad the company cares so little for their customers. It’s a good way to go out of business I think.

Then later they asked to send a letter that I am not going to litigate on this matter which was promptly mailed for they will not accept an email to this effect. I also contact their US CEO in Herndon, VA Office sending them all pictures of damage to Car and garage Wall and Door access to home. These pictures were taken by Insurer Liberty Mutual. Unfortunately due a mistake I forgot to get Rental Car Coverage from Liberty Ins. It is costing $330 per week in NJ. Car I am told will not be repaired for 3-4 weeks to get parts.I also asked for stopping lease payments $212 p.m starting Nov 15 and keep me whole on damage to the garage wall and related costs. The VW rep did not sound too enthusiastic. I have had as a student a VW Beetle to drive several times. It was a great little car. I am responding to a post from Dec 2014 about failure to start in the TDI Golf. This has been one of several problems I too have had with this vehicle. My problem started last year with similar instances of the vehicle not starting, having it towed and then having it start at the dealership with no detectable problems. A former VW technician mentioned to me that this has been a known problem with this model and that it was likely the intercooler causing the issue. The next time it happened, they checked the hoses to the intercooler and they were full of water and ice. I had to fight with VW service headquarters (and they denied there is a known problem with the intercoolers), but eventually (after several phone calls) they agreed to fix the problem at no cost to me. The car worked great for the rest of that winter season, but unfortunately the same problem is occurring again this winter. I have to say I am very disappointed with VW because I like the cars design. However, I cannot say that I would ever purchase another VW due to this reliability problem.

We purchased a 2012 VW CC in May of 2012. The car was used and had approx. 18,000 miles at time of purchase, currently the car has 72,000. We had routine oil changes done (more than required by VW) and service to our vehicle. In 2014 at 51,000 miles our 2012 VW CC needed a new engine. We took it to a VW dealer and had the engine replaced. At the time of engine replacement, it was RECOMMENDED not included in our engine replacement that a transmission oil change may be needed. This information was not pressing in its delivery as other additional services were provided and included at time of engine replacement this was not. At the time of engine replacement the mileage was 12,000 miles over the recommended oil transmission change which was at 40,000 miles. Our car is currently at a VW dealer who is stating negligence on our part after ONE missed oil transmission change. We were quoted $5,500 to replace transmission on a car that will be three years old to us May 27, 2015. What options exist? Smells like a lemon.

All CC models are affected by this tire/alignment issue. Dealers and VW are not forthcoming about the actual problem. There is nothing wrong with the continental tires the vehicle comes with, they are wonderful tires and do not have any record of defects or recalls. The issue is the CC chassis. It is a front heavy car built on a completely different and unique chassis than the regular Passat. They obviously had issues getting the car to track correctly through corners using a standard stance and camber. So they widened the suspension stance and added negative camber in the front to achieve better grip with the heavy front end. (Even with the factory set up you can feel the front end wanting to float off in the opposite direction of the corner at higher speeds.) They did not make the camber adjustable in the front, only the rear is adjustable. This means that you can put any brand tires on, rotate and align as often as you want and you will still ruin your tires every 10,000 miles. So add another $1,000.00 per year for cost of ownership of this car. I am absolutely appalled that VW has made this their dirty little secret and just assume that their customers wont figure this out. Shame on you, VW.

I purchased a brand new Tiguan r-line. After one day I drove it in the rain and the headlights misted up. Notified VW and took the vehicle back. I was told that it is normal in not too many words. Picked vehicle up today and it was raining again and lights misted up again. How can be sell vehicles knowing that the headlights have this problem. VW essentially refuses to replace headlights. Just want to let people know what they are potentially in for if they buy be.

I am so unhappy with the service and the cars Ive been driving. It is one problem after the other. My problem is you guys keep on fixing how many times must a new car be fixed. I changed my previous Polo for the new Polo because of the problems it gave me and the constant fixing. The new Polo is a bigger piece of rubbish with endless issues. Can you just take your car please. Im not interested in any more fixing. I had enough. This is what Ive been experiencing: wind sound problem, the brakes noise, the 2 seat belt campaigns, the handbrake campaign, an Issue with the handbrake, I had an issue with the tyre alert thing as well. It said that the left rear was low but the right rear had a puncture, And now to top it all off its raining in at the sun visor. I was soaking wet yesterday by the time I got home from work. Please understand I do not need these kind of problems from something I pay EVERY month. I bought the car from VW at Edenvale.

Ive had my 2013 Tiguan for 3 years now (3 months out of warranty). I love the way it looks and drives. However, even though Ive kept up with VWs recommended service, I just paid $2500 for repairs that shouldnt be happening on a car with 45k miles (a new alternator, timing case cover gaskets, control arms replaced, carbon cleaning). Just two months ago, the fuel door wouldnt open. The dealer sanded it down, calling it a manufacturing flaw (which I still dont get since it worked for a bit over 3 years). What Im getting at is that this VW is needing way too many costly repairs for a 3 year old car. I was expecting to have this car for well over 100k miles in great condition but Im not sure its going to work out that way. They sold me on the idea of German engineering being so good, lol. Fool me once.

I bought Tiguan model 2012 from the dealer in Abu Dhabi. I am the only driver, and exactly after the 3 years warranty expired, I started experiencing major problem with the car. For example: leaking coolant pump, boot cracked, noisy bush cracked, stuck defect, and more. I have just replaced the roof cetane (damaged with no obvious reason) and cost me almost 1000$. And last year there was oil leakage which required costly replacement. I would like to know why this is happening to a new car. Never happened to me before with other make. Please do respond to my concern.

VW CC was purchased three years ago as a Dealer Certified car with 42,000 miles. Performed the 45,000 mile and 60,000 mile major services at the dealer costing over $3,500 for regular maintenance. One day after performing the 70,000 mile service with the dealer the check engine light comes on and the engine starts running roughly and stalling. VW Dealer tells me the intake manifold is a free warranty repair but demands payment of $400 to clean carbon build-up in the pistons/injectors. DO NOT BUY VW. I have had the worst customer service experience with VW. I bought a brand new 2013 Passat in March 2013. Since the first day I have had an issue with my car pulling heavily to the right. My car has been in for service 10 times over the last 3 years to try and resolve the issue. VW has done sub-frame shifts, replaced the control arm and tried numerous things but cannot fix it. They are refusing to help me resolve this issue. They do not truly stand for a Great Driving Experience - they really have zero interest in helping.

The deception/lie that Volkswagen did on the diesel cars will affect you as a regular fuel Volkswagen car owner when it comes to trading in your car for something other than the bad reputation VW now. Be prepared to be ** when you get your trade in value as the dealerships are going to give you “Auction” since no one trusts VW anymore. They are concerned that if they were deceitful with the diesel, what’s to stop VW from making false claims about the gas VW’s. I have a 2015 VW Passat Limited, in excellent condition, financed for 4 yrs at 0% financing and my trade is worth $7,500 at “Auction” per the other than VW dealerships (Dec 23, 2016), I have NEVER been upside down on trading in a vehicle before, and note, this isn’t upside down, this is **, over $7k upside down. And NO, I don’t want another VW!! One very upset VW owner that has a worthless vehicle now due to their false claims on the diesel.

I purchased a 2013 Volkswagen Passat in February 2013 which just turned three years old. I have had several recalls and none have become available. The warranty on this vehicle has just run out and I am having some of the same problems with the brakes while the car was under warranty. I am also having issues with the door locks. Whenever I stop at a traffic light or stop sign, the doors lock each time. I can hear the clicking. I took the vehicle into Napletons which is located in Champaign, and I was told that it would cost me $457.00. Of course I was upset. I then asked for the contact information for Volkswagens Customer Care and I ended up getting a number online.I began this call 1 hours 12 minutes and 30 seconds ago. No one has picked up the call yet. I am not sure why I am having these issues after the warranty ended. I plan on writing a letter. Lets see how that turns out. I would say to you, if you choose to purchase one of these vehicles to ensure that everything is covered by having the service department at your dealership check it and document it. I have no intentions of paying Napletons $457 to repair a problem that they should fix for free. If I have to pay, I will take it to another dealership to get it repaired. I will definitely think again before I purchase another VW.

After three years and 54,000 miles, the automatic DSG transmission failed on my 2009 VW GTI. Over the past three years, I complained to the service department (North Penn Imports) about the problems I was having. Each time, they stated that it was operating normally. I have each case documented. Now that the transmission has failed completely (does not go into gear or shift), the dealer and Volkswagen have denied my warranty due to the fact that I have some aftermarket parts on my car and that these parts caused the failure. They have offered no explanation of how they caused the failure. As of now, they are replacing the transmission at my cost of over $3000.

When I purchased my VW GTI it rode very rough. I asked if the PDI had been performed when I was completing the purchase paperwork and I was told that it had. After a week of a very rough ride in the front I checked to see if the shipping pucks had been removed from the front struts. They had not (3 pucks in each strut) leading me to believe that no PDI had been performed. I emailed the dealer manager to notify them of this and see if I could have my struts checked for damage and got no reply. Now today I brought my GTI in to have the first service completed. After waiting 2 hours from my appt. time/drop off I asked if my car was ready. I was informed that there was a mistake with my paperwork and they hadnt started! 45 minutes later I was informed my service was completed. I lifted the hood in front of the service desk to inspect the service but before I could pull the dipstick I noticed there was oil on my right fender, on the engine cover and my front license plate was bent out from the bumper at a 90 degree angle (not how it had arrived 3 hrs. Earlier). They bent back the plate and told me I was good to go. I was beyond furious so I headed home. After I got home I checked the oil to find it overfilled by 1qt. Horrible service. Completely unacceptable.

I have owned over my lifetime no fewer than five Volkswagen/Audi automobiles: my first, a 1960 VW Beetle; a 1999 Cabrio; a 2003 Jetta; a 2003 Audi A3; and most recently, my last, a 2008 convertible bug I bought in the aftermarket as a first vehicle for my youngest child. Routinely, but most unfortunately, a headlight went out on the car. My daughter dutifully and naively went to an automotive parts store and purchased a replacement bulb, at my instruction. With replacement bulb in hand, my husband examined the cars headlight assembly and swiftly threw his hands up in the air, as did two local service mechanics. Thus, I was forced to send her to our local dealership in West Nyack, NY - Palisades Volkswagen, where I was charged for Volkswagens inane engineering the staggering sum of... wait for it... drum roll please... ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTY FOUR DOLLARS AND SIXTY EIGHT CENTS ($164.68)!!! You heard right. How on earth can Volkswagen expect its loyal consumer to happily absorb the cost of what is obviously a serious design flaw and expect that customer to ever purchase one of their poorly designed cars ever again? We bought a Jetta TDI back in 2014. Car was mostly good except for the 2 times the electronics disengaged from the engine and shut the car down putting me on the side of the road. But the buy-back has been horrendous. We signed up for the early lease termination. Considering it was August when we started and our lease ended in January we thought might as well. Well it took till mid-January to finalize everything and I couldnt get an turn in appointment till after the lease ended. So I called and confirmed I could just turn it in. Afterwards I called again and said, I turned it in, what now? I was told our check would be sent out within 3 business days. Nothing for over a week. Call again. They said they would look into it, but never was called back. Finally today got a hold of someone. We now have to start the entire process over again because we turned the car in without an appointment through the Claims Department. Everything completed and filled out worthless. We have to start the entire process over. Doesnt matter all the paperwork will be the same, we have to do it over. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told one could get back to me in 72 hours, that all I could do is start over. 5 months to get to here doing everything they asked and we get to start over because they took forever with the process? The compensation check is the same amount even and who cares if the car was turned in without an appointment with Claims? We turned it into the same place we would have regardless, hell even the same person. Kierra in Customer Service, you mean, unhelpful **, I hope your karma gets you. Has anybody else had problems with VW Inchcape dealers in Chester, Cheshire
Has anybody else had problems with VW Inchcape dealers in Chester, Cheshire dealership? I purchased a brand new diesel Volkswagen Golf TDI just under 3 years ago (and have full service history). The cars mileage was 72,000 - reasonable for a diesel engine so the car was out of its warranty, which I am not questioning. However, the crankshaft snapped whilst the car was less than three years old, resulting in major engine failure. It took a repair bill of over £2000 for this to be fixed. The garage that it was taken to had never experienced this problem before and an independent report states it was due to metal fatigue and not misuse or wear and tear.To be fair, Volkswagen had reduced the cost of the replacement crankshaft, however Inchcape have refused to refund the high repair bill. In my opinion they are responsible for the purchase of the faulty crankshaft and hence should take responsibility for this. I am very disappointed that a reliable brand has let me down in this way. I have loved my VW Golf but have lost confidence in it. I invested in a reliable name and feel disappointed in the quality of the engine that I have been supplied with. Any comments or similar experiences would be appreciated. Thank you.

VW passat 2009 - I have seen many posts written about the tire cupping issue and was wondering if anyone had heard any explanations. I was told that the TDI and non diesel Passat have the same chassis, and this is the reason for the cupping. The suspension system should not be the same for the diesel as the non diesel due to the weight difference. Now, along with the FOURTH set of tires Im needing you buy (51000) I have learned two wheels have a crack on inner side which is causing tires to leak. Anyone else experience this?? I have a 2013 VW Jetta TDI which I love. Recently, back in July, the fuel pump went. I had my car towed to VW Service in a town near me to get the problem diagnosed (even though I knew what it was) and to get warranty work performed. This process took 30 days! My car was in the service department for a MONTH! This is unacceptable. They first had to order a fuel kit, then extract fuel, send the fuel to a 3rd party, wait to get the fuel back. Decide if it was covered by VW under powertrain warranty, then order the parts for the fuel pump. First of all, this car has less than 40,000 miles. I was so irritated. I wrote to the dealer & corporate and they both said this is the process so thats that. Thats insane! I dont care about my loaner car, I spent more in gasoline in a month than I normally would. We purchased a new Volkswagen CC R-line in 2012. We followed the recommended service for it, which said 10,000 miles, or once a year. Each year they have rotated the tires and recommended alignment, at extra cost, which we did. Several weeks ago we took the car in for its third service with just over 30,000 miles, and they told us we needed new tires due to excessive cupping of the tires. We never expected to have to replace tires at 30,000 miles and asked the service manager, and technician why this occurred. They said it was obviously out of alignment and thats why it happened. Now, after reading numerous complaints about this issue online about this very same car and people being quoted as being told by some VW service people that the car actually needs alignment every 3,000 miles and more frequent tire rotation, maybe every 3,000 to 5,00 miles, we are wondering why VW is not getting this message out to consumers of this product. It could be a safety issue, when they are not telling us that the cupping occurs, and the tires are worn, especially as you are riding on a low profile tire to begin with. We replaced the tires with Continentals after they presented us with 3 tire options. They specifically told us All 3 choices are good tires. One week after the tire replacements, we were riding down a street near home and the tire light came on for the front passenger side tire, and the pressure began steadily going down. Luckily we were very close to home, and after pulling in the driveway, we could hear the air escaping the tire, flattening it completely within an hour. So we are calling VW tomorrow. No damage occurred to this tire, its brand new, and we wonder whats going on.It cost us over $1000 for these new tires. The car only had 30,000 miles on it!!! After looking at all the brand new tires, we are noticing they have all started turning a dark gray color in large areas of the rubber, in the week that we have had them. We plan on getting the car back to Volkswagen as soon as possible, but were unable to put the spare on, since apparently they forgot to replace the tools in our trunk which are necessary to change the tire to the spare, when they recently replaced the tires. We know no damage occurred to this car. Now we are reading about problems with Continental tires online as well. So why did they recommend the continental tires to us? So WV has not been forthcoming with info on this car to us or many other consumers, relating to cupped tire issues which may be avoided with a different maintenance protocol for the original tires (more frequent rotations, and alignment twice a year??) and then they recommend replacing them with perhaps a suspect tire? AND, after recommending replacing, they didnt tell us that the issue could have been avoided, because they want to stick to the illusion they have created to customers that these cars are good to go, once a year service, and you are done!! They totally acted like we were the only customer who had had this problem. Well, consumer sites on the internet tell the story, and its not a new one. VW needs to step up and start telling people the defect that exists with the RR C-line, and that it affects EVERYONE!

I have had all kinds of things to go wrong. My VR6 CC runs great but the engine light will come on and I take it to the Volkswagen dealership. Every time they tell me that a sensor has gone bad it cost me around $400 dollars every time. I have had 2 fuel sensor replaced. Now I find out that I have been over filling my tank making the service light to come on. Now I stop putting extra fuel in and the service light went off. Now my brake light is on. I called the service department and they told me that it is probably a sensor. I also have a turning light on. I replaced the light but it still does not work. I was told I would have to hook it up to the computer to find out why it is not working. When I first purchased the car I had 2 front wheel bearings to go out under 36k miles. The dealership told me that it was not the wheel bearings. At 40k they check it out and told me that it was bad wheel bearing. This was after the warranty ran out. The wheel bearings were $250 each and labor was $250 each. I finally got them to cover the parts but I was responsible for the labor. If they would have fixed the problem when I told them it would have all been covered. It seems every time I get a call or get the oil changed a light comes on. I have always wondered if they have a way to turn lights on. I also had to change out the wiring harness for the trunk at 50k and it was over $500.

I submitted paperwork to VW showing that I had retitled the vehicle so I could receive a credit on the taxes I had already paid, and they told me I would have a resolution in 6-8 weeks. Car door sustained damage when water was trapped in the door frame and froze. VW would repair the damage if car was 4 years old or newer as it would be within warranty parameters. They are aware that the structure was at fault as they have fixed cars within the parameters. Our complaint is that they never contacted us to inform us that this could be a problem or offered a way to fix the structure before the ice peeled back the door skin. Now they offer no compensation as it is outside the warranty parameters. How does a structure of design have a warranty?

Love my Tiguan but I urge you to purchase a warranty. I keep my car very well maintained but there have been some costly repairs. This car is an extremely safe car. I used to see the results of some horrible accidents when I worked at a VW body shop and every person walked away.

In my experience, I never have been in such a poor experience so far. After 2 months of booking and the full amount has been paid, Volkswagen group is ready to refund the entire amount instead of delivering the car. Since now, they havent provided me the proper reason for delay. The irony is, they havent ever communicated with me until I communicate them. The reckless organization. They are the very worst among all other brands.

I bought a 2018 VW Atlas SE Tech, terrible vehicle. DO NOT buy this vehicle! The safety system does not work. The start and stop system makes you accelerate rapidly when its on and you start moving your car (so, you may hit a car in front of you if its too close). The ICRS system does not work. The car will not brake for you. I have tested it many times COUNTLESS times and the system does not engage. Short of hitting another car or a pedestrian I cannot get closer to the real incident to prove it works. Lastly, if you are in an area that uses prime (water mixed with salt) do not buy this car. It will cause an accident. The car has driven me onto incoming traffic headed the other way, I had to drive off the road to avoid a collision. I took it to the dealership and they said it works, but did not prove it. I had to take their word. I tried crashing the car again to see if it works. IT DOESNT!! So, do not spend your money in that vehicle.

They have covered many repairs and updates on my Jetta. Whether tail lights, oil changes, tires and headlights. The dealership we use is Campbell Nelson Volkswagen and they are pleasant and courteous. They keep us informed of any mechanical issues that need addressing.

In addition to feeling robbed every time we took the car in for service, we have now been waiting since early last November for our settlement from the diesel gate thing. We were initially told that Volkswagen had 20 business days to review our paperwork. That took 3 months. Then we were told once we received our final offer it would only take a couple of days to get an appointment to do the buyback thing. The earliest appointment we can get is the end of March. Meanwhile, we get penalized for the mileage we put on the car (my wife is in sales so its considerably more than the 12,500 per year limit). I have many other complaints about the car, the company, and the dealership, but they echo so many other reviews here I wont bother. Before you purchase a Volkswagen please consider how ethically bankrupt the company is and ask yourself if you really want to do business with them.

Had the same issue on my 2019 Tiguan. Contacted VW customer service and they not only stated that “oil consumption” is normal but it’s acceptable to “consume”a quart per 2k miles… I traded the tiguan for a Toyota before it devalues further. After 4 VWs and 3 Audis it was time for change due to VW and the dealer not giving a flying **.

I have never been so dissatisfied with help from customer service. I called 3-29-17 about my stereo system. Ive had the car 7 years and this is the third time Im replacing the stereo system. I bought the extended warranty and the first time I replaced the radio it was covered only by the extended warranty. 3 years later, the radio stopped working and I was told Volkswagen customer service would not replace it. Volkswagen claims to stand by their product; I have not yet to experience that with Volkswagen. This is my second Volkswagen and will definitely be my last.

So I get a postcard in the mail for a recall in my ABS system in my car (2009 VW Jetta). I make an appt at VW in Clarksburg WV for 0900 on June 19th. After sitting for an hour and a half I check the status of my car. The service manager says it should only take 30 minutes for my car and I told him is already been waiting an hour and a half. He goes, checks on my car. States that they have to order a new ABS SYSTEM for my car which 9 out 10 times a car doesnt need it. But mine does. He then says they dont recommend me driving it until its fixed. So I ask if they are going to give me a temporary or loaner vehicle to which he says I cant. We dont have any. So I ask if they will provide a rental. He says VW doesnt do that.So what do I do? The manager says, If you want your car you have to sign a waiver and pushes my car keys into his pocket. So I was told I could have my car if I signed a waiver releasing them of liability if I get in an accident but they wont provide me with any type of vehicle to drive temporarily. So with great hesitation I sign and voice my opinion on how bad their service is and always has been but this was topping it. Told theyd call me when the replacement came in.11 days later, I just called them and asked why they havent called me about it. The manager again (how hes the service manager is beyond me bc he does a very poor job at retaining customers or helping them) says to me I havent called bc I havent had any available appts open to get you in! I said dont you think you should call me so that I can make an appt at least?!?!? After all I am driving around with a disabled ABS system!!!Without any regard to my well being or my kids who ride in my vehicle or others on the road, he says I guess I can get you in July 10th. You guess??? I am so appalled and so extremely angry at how incompetent and irresponsible this man is!! He lacks any concern for others and hes fat lazy **. Cannot and does not even attempt to help me in this situation. I highly suggest that VW replace him with someone who knows what theyre are doing. I will never, ever buy another vehicle from VW!!! They have done nothing but give me a run around from day 1.

08/10/2019 Volkswagen and Audi Poor REVIEWS, 2 Volkswagen products experiences at early miles, 57,000 to 62.494 2012 Audi A4 and 2014 Volkswagen GTI, known problems by Volkswagen. I had a 2012 Audi A4 with engine light that would come on after 56,000 miles. I brought it in to 3 dealerships in Louisiana. They would tell me they didn’t understand because diagnostics says car is running smoothly. I told them, That’s fine if it’s running smoothly, but selling a car with an engine light is a loss for me, because who wants to buy a car with an engine light. They all said, It must be something intermittent. Lafayette, LA, Baton Rouge, LA, New Orleans, LA. I finally brought it to a dealership in Orlando Florida. I told them to impress me. Audi was good for a next car by fixing my issue. They said, Give us a few days to work on. I did. They charged $989. It was good for 2 months and light back on. Sold that vehicle. The problem was an intermittent overproduction of fuel that no one could fix for good.2014 Volkswagen GTI, guess what, light came on on this one at same mileage, 57,000 to 62,494. I read up on the engine light regarding P2015 code, which is an intake manifold problem, that Volkswagen recognized as a problem, but instead of recalling, they decided to extend warranty to 120,000 miles, but only as a lottery picking of VIN numbers, so if your VIN wasn’t on list, and you had the same problem, you had to pay for this poor quality intake manifold problem. They would clean if only cleaning, $1200. If it involved the worse case, it took changing manifold, of which that would be, needless to say, much more, mind you at 60,000 miles this expensive cost. So yeah, look forward to this much expenses at this early in the life of the vehicle. So one thing is knowing Volkswagen recognized the problem, but treated fix as only some would qualify for extended warranty, and if you experience problem and your VIN wasn’t on list you have to pay. You call Volkswagen Headquarters or customer care, because if there is a problem, and manufacturer is willing to work with you and understand extenuating circumstances, explaining you had two of their products, and they make things good and go the distance, then that’s good, because all you want is a fix/corrective action; however, when you speak to dealership and report to headquarters, and all they want to quote to you is that it’s out of their hands, that your car’s VIN # is not lucky enough to be on the list (lottery/pot luck), ... so you’re stuck with a young car with enormous expenses, after the expensive purchase was not long ago.Yes, bad vehicles of Volkswagen, 2012 Audi A4, and 2014 Volkswagen GTI, both at range of 56,000 to 62,494 miles, you are left up the creek without a paddle and large loss of money. One never was fixed and had to sell at lesser amount because of engine light no one could do anything about. The other is just extreme expense for cleaning or replacement of intake manifold that company recognizes problems, but handles whether warranty is extended or not based on whether your car’s VIN was included, like on a lottery. Thank you. Dwayne **.

I purchased a 2012 VW cc from Michaels in Fresno, CA. Some companies were wanting to pack your furniture or your belongings and then store it overnight and then deliver it the next day. Almost immediately the car started breaking down. We have almost completely rebuilt the car by replacing the battery several times, the computer system, fuel injection system, transmission and now tire sensors. The car was not only prone to breaking down but was extremely dangerous as it would turn off or stall on the freeway at high speeds. Despite numerous attempts to get assistance from both the dealer and corporate I was turned away. I will never buy another VW product again or purchase from Michaels. They make and sell a product that they know is highly defective and subpar. Im going back to Honda.

So here is the deal. My husband and I, we purchased 2013 VW Tiguan. During the first year I had to bring the car to the dealer 4 times, due to an engine problems. First time, the engine light went on (at that point the car was about 4 months old!! ), we brought it to the dealer and after they checked it, they told us that it is just a glitch in electronics...Two months later, the light comes again, we bring it to the dealer and hear the same story...yet this time they told us that they switched something off (!!!!), so that the false engine light alert wont come on again! Couple of months go by (just FYI - I commute on highways every day to and from work), and when Im in the middle of my way home, the engine light goes on again... 20 minutes later, after the light had came on, the car just stalls/the engine shuts off!! Luckily the traffic was heavy and I was going about 10-15 miles/hour...I had to come to a complete stop in the middle of the highway and restart the car. I cant even imagine what wouldve happened if I was going the full speed...We brought the car to the dealer, and were informed a day later, that there is a sensor problem, and that they will be replacing it. When we took back the car we asked the dealer multiple times whether this problem will be happening again - they assured us that it will not!Yet, a couple of days ago (the car is one year and 2 months old at this point) I start my regular commute from work to home, and...here we go, the engine light comes back on!!! And, as in the old scenario 20 minutes later (luckily I was still downtown - so the speed was about 5 miles/hour. I was giving a way for another car to go on the stop sign) the car engine just suddenly shuts off! I then decided to go to the dealer right away, and on my way to the dealer the car stalled (engine shut down) for the second time!!! LUCKILY AGAIN I was going on low speed due bad weather condition (first snow) and bad traffic!!! It just terrifies me to think about what wouldve happened if I was going 55-60 miles?? This time the dealer told us that there is a wiring problem (the wires that lead to the sensor are all messed up). I understand that they would fix this, but I am now extremely skeptical about the quality of this vehicle. I cant trust to use it anymore...I am now wondering if I should give up the idea of being a VW owner at all...Given that there was a recent recall on Tiguan models (some manufacturers mistake with the engine programming - which we supposedly took care of!! ), I was wondering if some of you have faced the same problem with the engine suddenly shutting off (Remember the GM manufacturers mistake and engines shutting off, when people died due to this?). If so, I urge everyone who experienced this to please respond, we need to take action - as it might be some manufacturer mistake, which might have terrible consequences in the future!!
