I was recently involved in an accident where I was rear ended on a major highway. I was shocked at how little damage was down to my vehicle and how well it absorbed the impact. My initial thinking was that my vehicle was destroyed but it wasnt and I was able to drive my wagon into the town where there was a collision center. The total damage and cost was far less than I expected. I am so glad I took a chance and bought this vehicle. Kudos to Volkswagen and their team that designed the safety features and overall look and feel of this vehicle.

I am part of the VW diesel lawsuit. I think Volkswagen is trying to make me their enemy for life. Five times I have had to send the same legible document, except to anyone who is legally blind, to them. Finally after at least 10 attempts, I got someone on their 800 number. She was polite but totally in the dark as to what is going on and totally unhelpful. VW keeps telling me to hit the non-showing, if non-existent chat button on their e-mail and portal. Show it to me VW!!! They are just trying to see if you will give up. IS this what the court and our lawyers agreed upon. VW, I will never ever do business with you again. Your dealership stinks too!

Created a claim for buyback a year ago, after submitting all paperworks claim was denied. Denied because the car was bought from junk yard. Car was registered and legal on streets of California, other salvaged cars got buy back but not ours... I submitted an appeal and... nothing, since March I have not heard anything. Claims processing cant tell me anything, appeal department doesnt answer. It looks like they are just dragging time so they dont have to pay.

Sometime in March, 2019 I decided to bring my car in for evaluation - there was some strange rattling noise coming from the front left area around the wheel. I called the numbers listed on Island VW website and I couldnt get a hold of anyone because the line would either ring and then disconnect or go to straight to a busy line. I tried the chat on their website, but no one responded because I am guessing I was doing this at 830am. Then I called the sales number a few times and by some chance someone answered in sales and that person was the one who scheduled my appt, not the service dept. I brought my car in, I left it over the weekend for inspection, and on Sat I was called (Jimmy) and told the left axel (?) was worn off and that it needed to be replaced.I picked up my car a few days later and the next day I heard the same noise. I thought I was imagining things so I waited until my partner drove the car and said that the issue is indeed still there. I drove for another three days just to make sure we are not going to call and complain for no reason. Once established that the issue is there, I called the dealership. Same problem again. The line rings and disconnects. OR it goes to a busy signal right away. I waited another day or so and attempted again. Same issue again. I tried the chat and demanded that someone calls me. Jimmy called and I explained my problem. I said I would like to bring my car in again because the issue hasnt been resolved.I asked that they provide me with a loaner this time as my work demands me to travel from one clinic in the morning to another in the middle of the day. He said they didnt have any loaners. Then I asked them to cover for a rental that I would rent in order to get to work. He said that wouldnt work either. So I had to accommodate my schedule, wait until a weekend that I dont work to bring the car in. He agreed. At this point, while speaking with him, the phone disconnected twice!! So when he told me, Call us next week when you know when youll be able to bring the car I explained that calling their dealership is close to impossible, as evidenced by the dropped calls. He gave me his cell phone number and said to contact him there. And I did. Left a vm, waited several days and when no one called me, I decided to call Volkswagen America Customer Service, on 4/30 or 5/1. I spoke with a lady Renee who tried contacting the dealer herself. She ran into the same issue, the lines werent working. So she said she would continue to call and get back to me. On 5/1 she left a vm on my cellphone, stating that she was still not able to get a hold of them but that she would be able to schedule me an appt on the website. However, at this point I had missed the weekend I was off and I needed them to provide me with a car to get to work. She said she wouldnt be able to do that online. The next day, she called me and said her manager was able to get a hold of someone in the dealership who explained that they dont have loaner cars at that time and when one becomes available they would call me. Guess what? That call never came. At this point, I decided to call my bank and file a dispute. I have three VW at home and I will never, EVER, buy another one. I am selling them all and will be buying something else. Which is a bummer because I never had an issue with any of my cars. I bought them in Seattle, Carter VW, had the best experience with them. Everyone else related to VW was a disastrous experience.

Leased a vw cc for 36 months. Great price, good car. Tried to return it, vw leasing contracted independent evaluator to inspect the car. Tried for 10 days to get them on phone. Tried to go on their website. Malfunctioning. Frustrated, called the dealer where I bought it, they said bring it to them. I was penalized 400.00 for not buying another vw, even though they raised the price 8k on the same car no improvements, ridiculous!!! Then assessed another 400 for excessive wear. I refused to pay vw credit. They threatened to turn me into a collection agency which would ruin my credit. Funny thing is I had a body shop touch up the entire car before returning, I inspected it. Had Michelins on it in good shape. Read their lease before you sign, I will never buy a VW again.

Volkswagen shouldnt be sold in the US. The customer service is awful and the warranty means nothing. I traveled to Michigan for a quick vacation. The car broke down hours away from my destination. Get a towing truck through road assistance was almost impossible. My car was sent to a dealership 2 hours away from where I was staying. 12 hours later I received a call to let me know they got my car and they were going to inspect it in 1 week, I was staying there for only 2 days. After spending 7 hours on the phone, I decided to take a taxi to get a rental car (the closest rental was 1 hour and a half away). Volkswagen couldnt provide me a loaner/rental. I had to paid for everything. Everybody I talked to over the phone told me to contact the trip interruption department. After spending 200 dollars in a taxi, I get a call that the car was ready. According to them, the car was not fixed correctly at the dealership in Chicago (Volkswagen Irving Park Chicago). Took another taxi the other way, another $200. Once I got there, the Muskegon Volkswagen rep told me the following: We reconnected a hose that they forgot to connect when they replace the crankshaft sensor in Chicago... Please note the car has only 25K miles and broke a few weeks before this. They charged me because a different Volkswagen made a mistake but trip interruption was going to take care of this. Long story short, I made it back to Chicago, mailed all the receipts as they told me to do and today I got a call to let me know the case was declined. This is not money related, I dont care about the money but I can tell that Volkswagen customer service is awful... In Muskegon, in Chicago... Everywhere... even the customer CARE. I dont understand how they do business with this poor customer care. Definitely, not buying a Volkswagen again. On top of that I bought the extended warranty!!! STAY AWAY FROM VW CHICAGO IRVING PARK... STAY AWAY FROM VW MUSKEGON... STAY AWAY FROM VOLKSWAGEN...

I am fairly new to the VW family, but have been a loyal member up until now
I am fairly new to the VW family, but have been a loyal member up until now. I have a 2014 Passat SE TSi with only 57K miles on it. It is in pristine condition (my son has a 2008 Jetta SE as his first car). I am extremely unhappy about a design flaw that has occurred; something that VW knows exists and has existed for some time. The fuel door stopped opening (and there is no manual override or cable in the trunk to open it). The actuator had gotten out of sync with the cars locking system. Running on fumes, I took that car to Kotters VW in Escondido, CA. Kotters is a certified VW specialist that has been in the same location for more than 35 years. They are first rate and highly respected. After looking at my car and doing so research, including speaking to VW, the master mechanic informed me of the design flaw to which there is no real fix (just temporary ones). So that I could get gas and use the fuel door without fear of it happening again, he disabled the lock to the door. Now I can open and close manually, but cannot lock it.This is not the ideal solution and is not how the car was designed, but I do not want to get stranded. The fuel door is part of the fuel system as a vital component of the car. It should not fail at 57K miles and should be covered until at least 60K. Unfortunately, this is very common, and if you look online, many others have battled it.He was able to re-sync the fuel door lock with the cars door locks, but after testing it, the fuel door locked up again after about 10 times. I contacted VW and was told they could likely assist with the repair but that I would need to pay a dealer to diagnose first. This is not acceptable. I paid a reputable mechanic $100 to diagnose and provide temporary resolution. I am not going to pay a dealer again to learn the same thing. I want it fixed right. My point to the customer service person was that it does not matter what the diagnosis says; the fuel system needs to be accessible! Regardless of what it is, whether it is the actuator itself or something in the cars locking system, it needs to be resolved as soon as possible.I would like an appointment set up at Kearny Mesa VW in San Diego, John ** is the service manager. Please assist me in getting this fixed so I can again be a confident VW owner. If it is the actuator, the part is about $35-50, and the labor is likely an hour (open up truck liner and swap out). I have never had something like this happen with our Honda or Toyota vehicles, and never in a car so new. I would rather have to get a different brand than get stuck without the ability to refuel. Thank you very much for your timely assistance.

Last night, my husband and I went to Ford to trade in our leased VW CC for a new car. The lease was supposed to be up in May. I was quoted a payoff amount of $15,500 by VW. The deal with Ford was made late at night when VW Credit was already closed. Ford agreed to pay off the lease, and we made the deal with the new car. The purchase with Ford was very easy and smooth.Ford called VW this morning to confirm the payoff amount, and VW added an additional $2000! Apparently, the 6 payments that were supposed to be due until the end of the lease, which was supposed to be in May, were not included in the payoff amount. How can that make sense? Payoff means final amount to completely pay off a car. So we had to pay an additional $2000 because VW Credit gave us the wrong payoff amount. Then they changed their story and said its a termination fee. $2000 termination fee? Are they serious? Never again will we ever return to VW for any future cars. They just lost 2 loyal clients due to their cheapness and carelessness!

Purchased a 2012 Tiguan less than a year ago at 58K. From day 1 there have been constant oil leaks all year. I took it back to the dealer repeatedly. Oil leaks continued. A couple weeks ago I paid an $1800 bill for a rear main oil seal leak. VW refused to reimburse me because they said there was no recall on it and its past warranty. I know for a fact this is a consistent problem for this year and model and it should be under recall not to mention it started when it was under 60K. I’ve never bought a brand new car and wasn’t able to get a loaner vehicle when there’s a warranty issue. I’ve never had this experience with BMW or Mercedes or any other new car that I’ve owned in my entire life. If the car breaks be prepared to not have a car, for however long it takes him to fix it. Worst warranty program ever. I will never buy another VW EVER AGAIN. I’m receiving safety recall notices in the mail but can’t get them fixed. My Jetta just had its engine blow up essentially. There is a manufacturer defect and these should have been recalled. I was driving when the engine decided to just stop working. I could have killed someone. There is a class action lawsuit for this exact issue. When trying to get this issue resolved and get a portion covered to replace the motor, we were given the run around. We have been told that it would be 10k for a new motor. The consumer “advocate” says there is nothing they can do about it and refuses to escalate this to another individual above her pay grade. VW has poor customer service, questionable business model and just overall poor business practices. I will NEVER purchase another VW and I caution others in the purchasing of one. VW should be ashamed of how they treat the people paying their bills and feeding their families. This is NOT a company I will support or stand behind.

Great experience! Volkswagen is my first car and favorite car. Its small and the perfect size for me. Parking is so easy. Love driving it, its a convertible as well, 2016 model red in color which is my favorite color. Interior is comfortable and I love German cars in general, they drive very well. Ive been wanting it since I was 16 and Im 24 now. I love how everything works with a push of a button like the trunk, gas. The lights on the inside made it look slick. The convertible, the stiffness of the wheel, driving it. Its fun to drive and I feel confidently driving it. But I dont like the middle of the backseat as its too hard. I purchased a 2013 Volkswagen Passat in February 2013 which just turned three years old. I have had several recalls and none have become available. The warranty on this vehicle has just run out and I am having some of the same problems with the brakes while the car was under warranty. I am also having issues with the door locks. Whenever I stop at a traffic light or stop sign, the doors lock each time. I can hear the clicking. I took the vehicle into Napletons which is located in Champaign, and I was told that it would cost me $457.00. Of course I was upset. I then asked for the contact information for Volkswagens Customer Care and I ended up getting a number online.I began this call 1 hours 12 minutes and 30 seconds ago. No one has picked up the call yet. I am not sure why I am having these issues after the warranty ended. I plan on writing a letter. Lets see how that turns out. I would say to you, if you choose to purchase one of these vehicles to ensure that everything is covered by having the service department at your dealership check it and document it. I have no intentions of paying Napletons $457 to repair a problem that they should fix for free. If I have to pay, I will take it to another dealership to get it repaired. Already had a previous appointment to resolve electrical issues that had been ongoing from another dealer which had not been fixed. Car had 18k miles on it. Dealer could not get trunk unlocked, so instead of fixing the internal latch at the door to open the trunk, they called a locksmith and charged us $125 for a key to unlock the trunk. Got the car home, the key to unlock the trunk did not work. There is no place to put a key in the trunk, the latch still did not work and we could not get the trunk open. Called the dealer and they refused to refund $125.Did some online research and found there is a button in the glove compartment to push which resets the trunk, pushed the button and the trunk opened. Again, advised dealer of this and the inability of their staff to fix this issue and again requested refund, again was refused. Now, they wont even respond to us. When daughter went to pick up the car and pay for what was supposed to be an oil change, she questioned the charge and they were very rude to her, caused her embarrassment and caused her to cry. Recently, I bought a used 2008 VW Rabbit from a private party. 2013-14 was my first winter with the Rabbit. Until my ownership the Rabbit had been garage kept. Turns out there is a VW design flaw. VW acknowledges how to repair the issue, however does not acknowledge there is a problem. Therefore, offers no recourse to accommodate VW Rabbit owners. How is this possible? How is this denial helpful? Snow and ice build up in the door jambs, over long winter months. The simple action of opening a door is meet with resistance when snow and ice accumulate due to poor drainage. The lower front corners of the doors bend out. In addition, the paint cracks and peels. Thus, rendering a well maintained VW Rabbit blemished and susceptible to rust.As the dealership nearest to my home, I had every intention of having the vehicle serviced at New Motors Volkswagen. So, I brought The VW Rabbit in for advice. I found them all too willing to shrug off the issues I am having by averting the lack of accountability and blame off on corporate, with the customary response, This is out of our hands. Indeed, it is a corporate matter - all the same it is a product they sell, they service and subsequently endorse. It would have gone a long way with me and my overall perception of Volkswagen had they shown genuine concern and support. Local dealerships are the corporate cornerstone in each community. The lack of aid, comfort and cooperation exhibited by this Volkswagen dealership is indicative of the exact type of behavior we can expect from Volkswagen Corporate themselves. Ultimately, the dealership apple doesnt fall far from the corporate tree. Clearly, Volkswagen has no consideration for the consumers of their products - why wouldnt their dealerships embrace the same cold policies?Understanding I am not the original owner, understanding the so-called warranty has expired and understanding the vehicle has been introduced to weather conditions and storage conditions it has not faced in its previous years, should I, the consumer who entrusted my savings, my earnings and my faith in the Volkswagen product, be left out in the cold? It appears that is exactly what Volkswagen Corporate and its fledgling dealerships are doing. Taking advantage of hardworking people such as myself, who are too small to contest the mighty corporate injustices of Volkswagen. Volkswagen is treating myself and every one of its consumers as simple-minded prey by selling inferior products without certitude and without aegis. Volkswagen will NOT take responsibility or offer any assistance.Unlike Volkswagen, I can admit when I have made a mistake. By purchasing my 2008 Volkswagen Rabbit, I have certainly displayed an egregious lapse in judgement. Without a doubt, Volkswagen is not a company driven by consumer satisfaction, or superior products, but rather a company driven by bottom line profit margins. Thank you Volkswagen for correcting me.

Leased a new 2018 Passat thru VW of The Woodlands. Dealership is now closed and VW will not honor the service agreement or the extended warranties that I purchased because the dealership is no longer in business. Obviously I chose the wrong brand. VW told me they have no desire to make things right. I will now have to pay for all services (oil changes and maintenance) and all other extras I purchased and paid for are now null and void.

I purchased, new a 2013 beetle convertible with an extended warranty. The car has 52000 miles on it. The convertible top is wearing thin, to the point where its threads are spacing and separating. I call VW customer care and they said it’s out of warranty and they refused to even have their regional manager take a look at it to see if it could be repaired or if necessary replaced at their cost. This car is lightly used and regularly maintained at the dealership I purchased it from. They do not stand behind their car.

Purchased low mileage 2011 Volkswagen CC. (39,000) Engine kept stalling, driven 100 yards and dies, several times over. Finally died on highway completely, and with no power steering, I rolled out of the mountains of Colorado. Rolled into 1st exit. Fuel pump control was replaced. Ran fine but now red power steering light on dash and no power steering. Into the dealer! Was told computer needs TSB update. (Reprogram the computer) $429.00 and two days! Got it home, next morning same thing, no power steering and the red power steering warning light on. Which means no power steering! When you try to turn a VW with electromechanical steering there is no comparison to anything save for the fact that your heart is in your throat and it is frighteningly hard.Back to the Dealer. Was told needs a new battery. Got a call after the new battery and was told it also needs a new Rack and pinion assembly. Total this time? $2300.00! The dealer in this case (O’Meara) helped immensely by warranting the Rack. I investigated this problem on the internet of course only to find that quite a few VW C.C. owners went through the same thing! Went through VW and a district manager and was told OUT OF WARRANTY! Period! My wife and I truly regret buying a VW. Now we drive it and think what’s next!

I received codes P0087 & P2293 and traced them down to a known, high-pressure fuel pump/improperly hardened camshaft problem (VW Technical Bulletin **). As a result of the failures I now have catastrophic foreign object damage (metal shavings) throughout my oil system caused by lathing to the camshaft and irreparable damage to cylinder head due to unbalanced camshaft rotation (known problem excessive wear of intake camshaft lobe Ref: VW Technical Bulletin **).Prestige Imports of Pleasantville, NY opened the engine and immediately called to tell me I needed a new engine. All I had to do was show oil change receipts for the life of the car and Id receive a new engine free of charge. However, living in the real world and being a member of the US Marines, Ive lived all over the US and had my oil serviced by the lowest bidder (often times myself). I was not going to be able to prove my oil changes (they were current though). At this point I called VW USA to open the lines of communication. I was told by VW USA not to worry, they’d look into the problem and get a better answer to the extent of the damage. After they talk to the dealer they will call back and explain the extent of the damage.A few days later the dealership called to say the car is finished. Finished? Please define finished because the last word I received was that I needed a new engine. VW USA was supposed to call you (the dealer), get a better idea of the problem & call me back so I can choose a course of action. The dealer informed me they replaced the timing belt, timing belt tensioner, and water pump. Im responsible for those repairs for about 1100 dollars. The repairs they did under warranty were a camshaft, cam follower, and high-pressure fuel pump. Ignore for minute that they have to remove the timing belt anyway to replace the camshaft. There should have been almost zero labor involved in that repair.Heres the issue. 1. I involved VW USA early and clarify the exact extent of the damage. They did not. They failed to add clarity and in fact, made matters more confusing. 2. Repairing an engine with metal shaving in the oil is a waste of money at a minimum. To be blunt it is closer to unethical and fraudulent. 3. Repairing a timing belt on an interference engine with cylinder head damage is unethical and fraudulent. 4. Calling a customer to say you need a new engine and then reversing course and completing 1100 dollars after I advise I cannot provide oil records is unethical and fraudulent. 5. VW USA taking a month to try to untangle and investigate the problem only to finally state that they are not helping is fraudulent and unethical. This issue could have not been handled worse. 1100 dollars of repairs were administered to a vehicle that is damaged. VW knows the 2.0-liter engine is an interference engine and timing is critical. VW acknowledged camshaft issues in Technical Bulletin ** but somehow wants to blame cam collateral wear on oil changes. There are metal particles in the engine oil system from acknowledged cam problems, which act like sandpaper when they circulate. Finally, there was zero productive communication with VW USA. The only communication was nightly calls from customer service agents who know nothing of automobiles or engines stating theyre still working on it or so and so wasnt there because of the holidays etc. Horrible, horrible experience. Criminal, negligent, fraudulent and to boot, to a service member and veteran.

I just received a huge turn-in bill from VW. This was the fourth (and last!) VW I have leased. I asked them to reverse the $350 return fee (pure robbery) and they would only reverse it if I leased a fifth one. The Tiguan was poorly made. The ceiling lining was slightly loose on one side because of a leaky sunroof. The dealer said to take a picture and fight the charge. I called VW Credit and the person refused to reverse the charge and said I should have taken it to the dealership. I was charged $258 for that. I told her that I had leased 4 Volkswagens and that didnt make one iota of difference to her. For what is a tiny degree of money to VW, they have lost a customer. All that piece of work had to say was Im sorry. Can we expect full payment at the end of the month?? I will NEVER get another VW. I just bought a Mazda SUV and am very happy.

I am very disappointed with Volkswagen Of America. My CC has a recall on the fuel pump since last August. I don’t feel safe driving the car and with children. Volkswagen does not have the fix yet and they don’t know when they will have the part. They would NOT let me out of my lease. They said they could send me a check for two free months of payment. Which I turned around in less than a week to pay for a unexpected repair of the on the car. I left a message for the manager of Vyletel Volkswagen of Sterling Heights MI to see what other options I have. Of course I did not receive a callback. Volkswagen of America will not provide any other options except for me to pay off our lease. It’s very disappointing after we have been customers with Volkswagen since 2005 and we never had a issue with our prior cars. I have filed a complaint with Federal Safety. Next step to file with State Attorney General!

I bought a 2008 Volkswagen GTI less than 30 days ago. I noticed on the 2nd day the A/C and the 3rd gear was grinding. I notified the dealership. They said to bring the car in. On the 11th day of owning the vehicle, the car broke down. I notified the dealership that the car was not able to move and that it will need to be towed. They told me they would not pay for the tow and that if it had anything to do for the clutch, they wouldnt pay for that also. So I called my Roadside Assistance and towed the car to the nearest repair shop. They said there that the problem is in the transmission. The dealership still refuses to pay for the tow to their shop. I was also told by the service clerk that she spoke to the owner and he said that they would tow if it had to do with transmission or engine. But they have not done so. I have called and talked to the bank, and they have contacted the dealer. But still, nothing has happened. I call everyday, trying to talk to the owner or manager. And no phone calls have been returned. Theyre not honoring the warranty.

They did not make the payment in a timely manner and my credit was severely blemished. It took almost a month for the payment to be made and unbelievably they put a stop payment on the check and my credit was hit again. They then made an electronic payment. And they have allegedly let the credit bureaus know to remove the derogatory remarks. Not one person at Volkswagen of America has apologized. Awful. Will hopefully rid myself of my current VW soon. I purchased a used (one owner) 2012 VW Eos less than a year ago and have put 12K miles on it. At my first oil change 4 months ago (apparently you can go 10K between changes) my husband noticed an oil leak. I took it to a VW dealer since it has a 60K powertrain warranty still in effect, who proceeds to tell me that my timing chain cover gasket is leaking and warranty does not cover it. I called corporate in Michigan who tells me that all gaskets are covered but I need a certified VW tech to diagnose my car. I proceed to tell him that it is at the dealer as we speak and they say it is not covered. The corporate office informs me that their techs are their eyes and ears and they have to believe them. So now my car, which has less than 44K miles with an oil leak is not covered and I need to pay the diagnosis fee plus parts and labor. They offer no loaner car and only provide transportation up to 10 miles (I live 20 miles away). I researched this car for 3 1/2 years before I purchased it and shopped at a VW dealer for this car but was turned away because the salesman thought I couldnt afford their precious base model EOS which is not what I wanted (I wanted the LUX model). I work very hard and I made $88K last year and have a credit score of 894 - dont tell me what I can and cannot afford! I wound up purchasing my car the same day from a Hyundai dealer less than a mile away and their service has been extraordinary! Because of VWs service and the way they talk to individuals is deplorable and because of this I will trade my car (that I love) for something I do not care for just to get the outstanding service that consumers truly deserve.

On September 16; 2017; I purchased a Golf GTI from Jim Wynn Volkswagen. The car was only 17 miles when I drove out of the dealership. I have a work vehicle that I use on a daily basis so this car is for my personal use. On February 17, 2018, I was at a red light on Philadelphia US 1 with clutch in and in first gear, I tried to move when the light turned green but the car wont drive. The clutch was depressed. I turned the ignition off, put the gear in neutral, the hand brake up, and put on my four-way pointer. I was able to pull up the clutch with my feet. With the clutch in, I started the car and tried to shift to first gear but couldnt shift gear. I had the car towed initially to my parents house and on February 19, I eventually towed to Jim Wynn dealership. At this point, my car only has 318 Miles on it. It is practically a new vehicle and my expectation is that my warranty will cover any related issues. On 2/20/18, I was informed by the Jim Wynn dealership that they need my authorization before they can look at the car and I will be responsible for $2,600. I was in shocked because this is obviously a manufacturable defect. The service manager, Michael ** said to take it up with Volkswagen Customer Care. I called Volkswagen Customer Care to report the issue and I was told that an agent will contact me. On 02/21/2018 @ 1301, I received a call from Volkswagen Customer Care. I stated my position on the issue. I told them I shouldnt have to pay for a warranty issue on a new car with only about 300 miles on it. The agent was very disrespectful and he told me that Im welcome to take my car somewhere else if I dont like Volkswagen position on my warranty issue. I asked for another agent perhaps his supervisor and have stated that he is the only one that would be able to help me. I asked that he send me an email regarding Volkswagen position on my warranty issue, he stated that hell get to it whenever he can. As a customer, I am frustrated, speechless, and appalled by the customer service I received from both Jim Wynn Volkswagen and Volkswagen Customer Service.

Two weeks and two phone calls later to customer support the status remained as waiting for fax. So I faxed the documents again. Another wasted phone call to CS to find out why they dont/cant acknowledge receiving my fax... Then I get an email stating I didnt send all pages of my offer. So back to another fax ($8) every time. Twenty four hours later status is waiting for fax... I have transmission receipt showing all 7 pages were successfully sent. Another call to CS and again they give me a non answer... So I bought a 09 golf in the UK 2 years ago with HID headlights in it (plug & play). I then realised they are bad for the car. I then had an issue with my indicator it would not turn off so was advised the body control module needed to be replaced. Volkswagen quoted me about €180 for diagnostic and whatever extra to get fixed (about €300) for new BCM. Had to get the keys recoded €75 and paid the 180 for the diagnostic and only coded one key. On top of this the diagnostic didnt work because the BCM was not correct. They told me to come back with a bcm from the same year and mark golf for it to work correctly. Asked could I book in a couple months later and keep it on site overnight to avoid taking time off work. We dont do that. After arranging work around the date I booked I Got Another BCM. This time the correct one with same part number. Back in today and could not pair either key and said I have to buy one direct for about €300 plus fitting but before that need to charge me €185 just to make sure this is the issue (again, as if its magically going to work the second time around). Collected it today and I was told neither key had been coded and I still have to pay the €45 because they wasted their time. This garage has disgraceful customer service and robbery for nothing. I will never in my life again buy Volkswagen and make sure none of my friends or family do. Each time I came into the showroom I spend 10 minutes before someone helps me and seems to think its acceptable to speak down to me. You dont take money off someone for a 5 minute key coding job you could not complete. Also not to Advise an alternative option of replacing a bcm that might not be the issue but in the end will charge me just to be sure. Back to square one but -€305. I also questioned why I paid more the last time to code the keys and I got no reply.

My Advice to all the folks who are even planning to buy a Volkswagen vehicl
My Advice to all the folks who are even planning to buy a Volkswagen vehicle, Dont even think about it. Unless you have lots of money and use and throw car. Its a shame on you Volkswagen!! All the car manufacturers (Its shame for me to say your competitors) are building cars that last for 200K miles and your car is falling apart after 90K miles. I had this car which likes to go back to the workshop every 2 weeks once its marked 90K miles. Its shame on your assembly employees, quality control engineers. Are they sleeping? Or you are not paying them well? Please take all the money that you make from the repairs caused by these breaking parts and give them as bonus. Motivate them to at least build something so that at least you can call yourself as car company. I was always recommending friends about this company... Now I realized big mistake. Sorry VW. Not any more. I changed my advice. None of my friends/colleagues are no more going to buy VW if they get my feedback. To all the folks who are planning to buy - I would suggest instead of buying a vw, just drop $100 into the toilet daily and flush it. That will at least save time from going back and forth between the repairs.

We received an initial letter saying further instructions for banking info for the direct deposit would follow. Nothing came. After several calls I get told (like others) the claim has been escalated. After another phone call to their claims department I was asked if I had a firewall set up on my email account. I said yes so they asked if I had a personal email account. I was informed it will take 7 to 10 business days to get a email to our gmail account.I called them today the 11th of April for status. We get told they have tried calling to give us information. We never received any such calls. They are liars which is proven by the mess they are in right now. They have now given us a Canadian fax number to send information to. I dont understand that. We now get told it will take another 7 to 10 business days to receive the funds which I highly doubt. It seems Volkswagen is doing everything they can to stall. We have several VWs in our company and after this I will not deal with them again. Completely incompetent company. My five years old 2011 VW Tiguan had two major mechanical problems. One problem with the fuel injection was fixed for free because of the recall. Another problem was the antifreeze leak that would cost me more than $3K to fix. That made me decide to trade it in for the reliable Volvo. One week after giving away Tiguan, the second car made by VW Jetta Sport Wagon 2013 didnt start. The dealership diagnosed sensor problem that can be fixed for only $300. After few hours they call us back (probably thought they didnt ripped us off enough) and told us that the computer is broken and need to be replaced. It will be another $1600 + $300 for the sensor that might be broken or not. We are very scared to hear from those VW people tomorrow. The car is very expensive and in the hands of people we dont trust who keep finding wrong things with very costly parts. I already told my sad story everyone I know. At this point we used to have two new cars and ended up with nothing just because we shopped at VW. I hope people learn from our mistake and that VW manufacturing stop producing these very expensive but so below lowest quality cars.

My 2006 VW Passat died on me at 87,000 miles about a week ago. After receiving the countless letters about the parts of my car that theyd be happy to service over the years because, oops! They realized theyre faulty, my car left me stranded about a week ago. The service people stated itd be 4-5 thousand dollars to repair. According to Kelly Blue Book thats about how much the car was worth 2 weeks ago when it ran. Every time I took this car in to be serviced, the VW technicians would present me with a list of the issues with the car, ranked in order of severity. Whereas most car techs are trying to swindle the customer out of money (historically), I actually believe the VW technicians were being honest: my VW ACTUALLY was riddled with problems that were no fault of my own, simply because these cars suck! The technician informed me that one matter in need of attention was the crack somewhere in the structural frame of the front of my car that could get progressively worse OR may just continue to exist but never cause a problem. How does a car that hasnt ever been in an accident suddenly crack? I never realized the internal frame of my VW was made of eggshell...My advice? Steer clear of VWs. Even my friends CC tells him Service Now! every time he starts his car, and it has less than 10,000 miles on it. Youll know quickly youve made a mistake when you received the letter about the engine coils that are bound to malfunction or whatever other part of your recently purchased vehicle will screw you over next... On a separate note... Anyone wanna buy a project? If you like restoring dead cars, the VW dealership in Cary said theyd give me $150 for it... top that and its sold! :)

For a second time now the push open door to the gas tank would not open. I was 40 miles from home and there was ZERO way to fill up my car with gas. I was on fumes, there was no-one or a service company around to help me. There is a manufacturing problem with the gas push open door and after a while there is a part that goes bad according to the Volkswagen reps and it seals shut. There are no indicator lights or warnings that this is going to happen. So, you get STRANDED with zero warning!! I was able to force pull the door open but the door did break and the silver rectangle cosmetic piece covering the door fell off and the black door cannot close or it will not open again--Both pieces now need repair. It is a malfunction in the companies car design and should be considered for recall. I called to try to resolve the matter today with the 1-800 Volkswagen Customer Care line and the lady on the phone was ZERO help and would NOT let me speak to the Volkswagen supervisor and said she spoke to him/her for me and they stand firm on their decision. I was extremely disappointed. THIS is TERRIBLE customer service and this is a SAFETY issue -- not being able to put gas in your car is not too much to ask when you buy a car. They said they will NOT cover the repair on my car because it is old, 2014 with 79,000 miles on it that I have taken GREAT care of and is in good condition. There is always the ROAD TO YES and I believe Volkswagen should take better care of their customers and help FIX the NOW problem. The Volkswagen dealership service people reported to me that they have seen this problem MULTIPLE times but there is no recall for it. This is caused a dramatic amount of blood loss, a very deep laceration and several rides in the ambulance to the local medical facility. The edges on this compartment are seriously sharp. VW needs to make some changes. My husband is literally going to permanently secure this compartment that it is not accessible. I have owned this car since 2016 with 9k miles when I bought it and now I have 27k. I do not drive it a lot. This is most definitely a hazard and health issue! Please correct. Please call me if need be.

I had kept VW for 6 years. When you trade or lease another vehicle VW is happy. When you are done business with them, they will eat your money. I returned my Passat recently and charged me $2000 to replace their loss of vehicle value. A previous dealership didnt explain what steps I need to follow in order to return. I went to a different dealership and returned it. I asked that I have to fix anything before returning. They told me nothing I can do at this time. I was waiting for their final answer and they called an inspector to return. Of course, they didnt call me, instead, I called them what is going on.The dealership finished its process and transported to the auction. Therefore, they charged me $2000. I looked at the list what I charged for. I understood some parts of vehicle needed to be fixed. I didnt understand how much VW charged me for tires. I replaced Michelin tires and got charged $190 each which they were not original parts. I called VW credit and they kept saying cant readjust my money. I am really disappointed with VW how they treat a customer. I guess I am not going to deal with VW anymore. I will pay money and you will lose a customer. Thank you.

Each month I have to call VW Credit so they remove the tax as it was already paid to my state as they note every month yet it magically reappears and they fix it for the month I call but never for the entire period. I love the vehicles but this will be the last one I have after spending a significant amount of time each month getting this corrected, only to have it reappear on the following billing cycle. Incompetent and probably illegal. They probably wont even pay attention to this. Next stop is to seek legal counsel. Cant wait until I am no longer upside down on the vehicle to get another vehicle and separate all ties with VW Credit.

Cant believe the nerve of Volkswagen’s warranty and a slap on the hand. Dealership guys were very respectful and friendly but doing very bad illegal things again. Took my 2011 TDI Jetta under warranty to the dealership for LONG START and ACCELERATION LAG, (fuel issues). Day 2 of having my vehicle, Jason via text message asked for approval to do a fuel filter and air filter change for 185+tax. I asked wasnt FUEL FILTER covered under my warranty. Via text message, was told NO. Called corporate and was set up with an advisor (Kyle) who did not return my call before I was told to come get my car on day 3. Went to the dealership and spoke to a supervisor named Matt **. Asked him to explain what part about ENTIRE FUEL SYSTEM doesnt apply to the fuel filter. His explanation to me, maybe it was worded wrong. I am a certified MASTER tech and I bought this car for the warranty VW was offering. Couldnt believe it. Shouldnt have believed it. I have attached a copy of a page from my warranty booklet which leads us consumers buying these vehicles to believe Volkswagen has our back, not that we are buying and inheriting someone elses problem. I bought the vehicle about 4,000 miles ago and was told it needed done and asked for money for it. Since I did not get the job done, I was charged $143 this morning to get my vehicle back. I asked for a itemized list of what the tech did to diagnose my vehicle since I am paying $135+tax for diag. Was that honored? No, for 3 days my vehicle was with them and my warranty not covered. Advisors say whatever the dealership says because clearly in black and white for anyone to read ENTIRE not excluding filter, would lead you to believe it is covered, especially when the system is under high pressure and you have to prime the system so its really not a DIY for most consumers buying these vehicles. I didnt write the warranty and it should be honored. Not only that, my warranty also states conflicts concerning the warranty, are to be resolved in favor of the consumer. Volkswagen follow the law and honor your warranty and not play word games with the people you are trying to earn the trust back from. Im going to the top with my issue and litigation for selling me a vehicle under false advertising. Not only that, but I also have a warranty under the HPFP recall warranting me anything that touches gas. If I have to fight for my $143 back and my warranty honored, Im going to make sure the courts give their vehicle back to them.

Extremely disappointed with my 2016 VW golf sportswagon and their customer care. I have been a VW owner for 20 years and didn’t have any problems with the quality until I purchased this car. The car had transmission problems only after 6 months and the same issue happened numerous time during the 5 years. Not to mention that there were a few recalls as well. The turbocharger also failed just shortly after the warranty expired. I called VW customer care to see if they can help given that I had been a loyal customer. The experience with customer care had been terrible and disappointing. It took 6 weeks for them to complete an assessment for the car. I had to follow up numerous times and was always given the answer that they will look into it and call me back. But they never did. It’s not until that we went to the dealership to talk to the service manager that customer care put effort to complete an assessment of the repairs. It’s disappointing that given the quality history of the car they are only willing to cover about half of the repair cost. Their decision is final and doesn’t given a chance to discuss further with them. The quality of this car is not what I expected from VW.What is also extremely disappointing is that they don’t offer basic customer service. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told that I will get a call within 48 hours. It never happened as always and it took numerous follow up calls and 8 days later before a supervisor called. This is totally unacceptable customer service. Their “don’t care” attitude will drive away loyal customers. I will never buy another VW product or recommend them to a friend or family.

My 1st car was a mark 1 Golf, purchased November of 1984. In 7 years, I racked up 300,000 km and it served me very well. Since then, I have owned a Golf TDI, 2 Eurovans, Passatt TDI wagon, a V6 Touareg, a Jetta TDI wagon, 2 Beetles, a Golf R & a Tiguan in addition to an Audi A4 & Q5. Sure there was maintenance required, a few repairs and issues that required warranty claims, some that were not covered, but the value of ownership outweighed the costs.By enlarge, my VWs have been reliable, practical and most of all fun to drive and own. I appreciate the thoughtful design and top quality engineering that goes into all VW products. They are worth every penny of their asking price!

The first day I drove my new 2019 Tiguan SEL home, I opened the passenger driver-side door and the handle got stuck and would not go back in...Made an appointment for 2-days later to get this fixed. During the 2-day waiting period, I was stopped in a turning lane on a four-lane, lighted road to make a u-turn. When I hit the gas pedal to go the car jerked forward, and went to a standstill for about 5-seconds while my foot was firmly pressing the gas pedal. This caused the two oncoming vehicles to have to screech to a stop; and the vehicle in the middle lane had to swerve to avoid hitting me and spin out. When the Tiguan started moving forward, I had to pull over because I was shaking. The same issue happened again the next day, but no oncoming cars were in sight.Went in for the door appointment, I told the service rep about engine and asked to speak to a manager. An assistant manager came out, I told him about the engine, and he respond thats a VW and gave me a hug and two free t-shirts. New door handle had to be ordered due to corrosion, had to come back 3-days later to have it fixed. During those 3-days, the passenger seat seat belt warning sound started randomly going off, along with the airbag light flashing above the hazard light when my handbag was on the seat. Reported that and the engine issue again at next appointment. Had to leave the car for two days...At pick-up was told everything was tested fine, but VW did not bother to test the seat sensor. Was instructed to not put anything on the passenger seat, as stated in the cars manual.I was in tears telling VW of Naples dealership that I felt totally unsafe but they would not help me get another vehicle and told me to get back into this vehicle. So I contacted Volkswagen corporate to request a new vehicle, or to let me out of my lease...Denied. Both VW corporate and Naples, FL dealership did not care about my safety at all, nor that I was obviously an unhappy customer. Money should never come before safety, so I paid to get out of my lease. This is a deadly safety issue.

We purchased a brand new 2010 Volkswagen Tiguan. It looks like this vehicle is only built to last till 60,000 miles. Check engine light is common thing meaning a frequent visit to the auto shop. Even we always use premium gas so engine still builds the carbon which was a very costly fix. We arent the only ones we have had issues with VW, our friends and people we know who own previously VW had the same experiences. Even my sister who owned a Audi Q5 she had the same issues once she hit the 60,000 miles mark. My advice think twice before you make the purchase for an Audi or VW vehicles. For our personal experiences we will never ever buy Audi/VW.

Ive leased Volkswagens for 20 years. I currently have three leases, two Jettas and a new Passat Limited. Since leasing the Passat, I have had nothing but problems. Two weeks after leasing it, the gas floater stopped working and the whole system had to be replaced. I got it back a week later and the car smelled so badly of gas and this odor lingered for over a month. They couldnt do anything about it either.Next, we were driving and the tire pressure light came on so we went to have it checked at the dealership and they said everything was fine. A few hours later we got a flat and had to pay for it out of pocket. Ive only had the car for a few months and its just issue after issue. I trusted the dealership. They know I have a family and their comfort is important. I didnt realize til recently that there are no air vents in the back seat! Im pay $285+ a month for a lease (plus $1500 down) and there are no air vents in the backseat. Its just appalling. After 20 years with VW, this will be my last. I put in a complaint to the dealership and VW corporate and just received a call that they will not help with a trade in. ABSURD! Their customer service has gone downhill for sure. I hate this car and cannot wait for the three years to be up.

All CC models are affected by this tire/alignment issue. Dealers and VW are not forthcoming about the actual problem. There is nothing wrong with the continental tires the vehicle comes with, they are wonderful tires and do not have any record of defects or recalls. The issue is the CC chassis. It is a front heavy car built on a completely different and unique chassis than the regular Passat. They obviously had issues getting the car to track correctly through corners using a standard stance and camber. So they widened the suspension stance and added negative camber in the front to achieve better grip with the heavy front end. (Even with the factory set up you can feel the front end wanting to float off in the opposite direction of the corner at higher speeds.) They did not make the camber adjustable in the front, only the rear is adjustable. This means that you can put any brand tires on, rotate and align as often as you want and you will still ruin your tires every 10,000 miles. So add another $1,000.00 per year for cost of ownership of this car. I am absolutely appalled that VW has made this their dirty little secret and just assume that their customers wont figure this out. Shame on you, VW.

Again I am writing to you, this time to share my frustration with the Volkswagen product purchased and the response received when my situation was reported. Back in August 2017, I wrote you outlining my situation; being more specific, while going to work at approximately 7:40 am in “stop and go” traffic my car shut off placing it in a no start condition, had to towed it to my mechanic and I was told I had to replace the fuel pump and the fuel pump module. A representative from your office contacted me from the number ** during the third week of September, informing that my request could not be honored because the warranty on my car expired. Approximately three weeks later I receive a recall notice from Volkswagen informing there is a faulty fuel pump control module in my car.I am of the opinion that Volkswagen was aware of the existence of the defect and that I was place in a situation where there was an increase likelihood of the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. This is by far a bad representation of the Volkswagen product and I feel hurt I was placed in this situation; this is bad customer service! This is a clear case of trickery and or dishonest act for financial gain. As a senior citizen, I am very deliberate about where and when I spend my money. I intensely researched this product to great extent before purchasing it but to my surprise I was taken advantage off and I am outraged because I was deceived by your company’s practices.

We have 2 VW Diesel TDIs and we have been corresponding with VW for 3 months about both the buyback and the modification. We got the final approval letter for the modification back very quickly but once you call to schedule an appointment at the dealership, they say that the modification hasnt even been developed yet and they give you 1/3 of the money they owe but not until a modification has been APPROVED which could be several months and then you get the other 2/3 of the money once it is installed. A TOTAL SCAM!We then decided that they is so scandalous that we dont either one of our VWs anymore so we called and said we changed our mind and want to turn in both VWs. Of course when we call, they say the final offer has been approved for the buyback and we should get an email in our portal any day. That was a month ago... In the meantime, we still have to pay the payments and VW is still making money off us. Something needs to be done. The customer service agents are clueless. VERY ANGRY... Altogether infuriating experience. Because I live more than an hours drive away, I made a morning appointment to take my Passat in and find out why it was leaking coolant. I expected to be able to take it home that afternoon at the very latest. I showed up a few minutes before my 11:00am appointment, and was immediately told my car could not even be looked at until 2:30pm. And that they would call me when they had news. Seriously? Why do they set appointments at all if it is meaningless? Fortunately, my husband was also in town with his car, so he picked me up and we ran a few errands. By around 4:30, I still had not heard a word from VW, so I called the service department. THEN I was told that they still had not figured it out.... probably it still had not even been looked at. So we went back up the road to home, an hour and 20 minutes north.Late the next afternoon they finally called to tell me that my car needed a new heater core that would cost almost $1,700. That, in addition to the nearly $150 they charge just to diagnose the problem. I told them Id pick it up the following day, which I did. Another trip into Springfield, more miles on my husbands car and 2 1/2 hours out of an already busy day, just to go get it. So I wrote them out an invoice of my own, charging for the extra cost on my end as a result of them not honoring my appointment time. Im sure they laughed at that... and of course they did not discount my diagnostic bill to compensate, not one penny. In the meantime, I was in touch with a local trusted mechanic that I should have gone to in the first place, who said he could install a new heater core for about $750, less than half what the VW quote was. I wont be giving Napleton VW of Springfield any more of my business, and advise anyone else to steer clear as well.

VW, nor the dealership, ever bothered to inform me of the issue of ice getting trapped in the door, and causing the door to curl up like a piece of paper in the same way yours did. Because they never bothered to inform me, I assumed someone hit my door, and ended up paying to have this fixed at an independent shop, for something they should have taken care of under warranty. The dealership (Flynn Volkswagen) couldnt be bothered to install the foam fix inside the door before the car was sold new in 2011 two years later before it even left the lot, which would have prevented the problem from occurring in the first place.

The intake manifold has failed on my boyfriends 2010 CC sport. This part has an extended 10 year/120,000 mi warranty on it. His vehicle is just outside of that warranty in mileage (121,500) and they wont do anything to ease the cost of replacing part. The whole reason they extended the warranty was because they expected the part to fail within 10 years, and its definitely less than 10 years old. Because other car manufacturers would take this into consideration and do some type of prorate of split the difference in parts & labor or something of the like, we called and asked them to do this. And they just dont care. No reason to build brand loyalty, I guess. Every time weve had to deal with them, it has been a head ache - the Takata airbag recall for instance. My mom has a Honda. Honda gave her a rental until they could fix the problem because it is unsafe to drive at the risk of having a collision and being pumped full of shrapnel from your airbags. She got her car back, fixed, 2 weeks ago, though she was in a rental for about a month. When we called VW about it then best response that we could get was why its safe to continue driving it around. Or how the NHTSA doesnt find it unsafe. The funny thing is, I research EVERYTHING. And according to everything I found, the NHTSA is who demanded the recall. VW responded with a letter as to why they should be exempt from it. The recall was issued in 2014, and VW just started recalling in February 2016. Shame on this company for caring so little about its drivers & for being so reckless with consumers lives in general. VERY disappointing. If you want reliability, you may want to go with a less expensive vehicle as they seem to have a better attitude and overall view of customer service.

On November 18, 2018, I’ve purchased a new 2018 VW Golf R. This car is equipped with an Electronic Parking Brake System (EPB) and an Auto Hold system which self engages the EPB when you torn off the engine. On January 23, 2019, I’ve parked the car on the driveway in front of my house. The EPB has self engaged as usual. The yellow indicator light on the EPB lever went on, as well as the red PARK indicator on the instrument cluster display. I’ve got out of the car but didn’t lock it since I was planning to return in two minutes. While I was walking up the stairs towards my house, my wife just left the house and was walking towards me. Suddenly she yelled: the car! I turned around and saw my brand-new VW moving forward, and crashing into the fence. As a loyal customer of VW (this is my third one!) I thought that they will take responsibility and cover the cost of the repair which is almost $1,000, but apparently, VW doesn’t care about their customers at all. After many phone calls and email correspondence with the dealership and VW of America, I was told that since they couldn’t find any evidence for a manufacture shortcoming then this is on me. I don’t know what kind of evidence exactly they were looking for, I just know for a fact that the car was on Park and then it rolled over and crashed into the fence. So now I’m stuck with a slightly damaged car which has a serious safety issue, and VW isn’t willing to take responsibility. Needless to say that this is the last time I buy this brand. For shame VW, for shame. A quick google search brought up that this isn’t the first time that VW vehicles have such a problem with the EPB. Please take a look at the following links: **. One guy even broke his ribs because of an EPB failure. Does a terrible accident with casualties must occur for VW to take responsibility and do something about this?

I am by no means an expert mechanic but I have been working on cars for a little over 20 years and I couldnt believe how quickly the sensor went out. Even the people at the dealership were completely shocked by how quickly it went out. When I call VW of America they basically told me yeah thats horrible but its your problem. I really thought VW was a better company than that and manufactured better products than that.

After 6 years of being a loyal customer to Volkswagen, this is the thanks I get. I have a lease that is up Feb. 2016. November 2015 I was called into my dealer to trade out my car for a new lease. I explained I had fallen back on some payments, because I was out of work for a few months due to medical issues. I was making slow payments but doing my best. I had returned to work full-time and was ready to get the deal done with the new lease. They said Volkswagen, would not approve another lease because of slow payments. I was on-time every month for 51/2 years, and as you know real life happens sometimes. In any event the dealer said he was able to work out a deal and I should come in and sign papers. I arrived to the dealership at our scheduled time... waited 2 1/2 hrs. only to be told that there was an error. It was not approved and in fact Volkswagen credit wanted the dealer to confiscate my vehicle right there. They allowed me to leave yeah right gimmicks. I stepped outside and immediately called VW Credit to rectify the situation. They told me to make two payments and I would be up to date, or a least put back in the 30 mark. I agreed, I would go to Moneygram in the morning and get things squared away. Needless to say a few hours later my car was repossessed, from a friends private enclosed garage already suing which means I was followed to location lawsuit in effect. I only owed them $1,000. I had to pay $3200 to get my car back. Explain. Devils. My credit is now ruined, the vehicle is still due back in Feb. and I am assed out!! This is the second time they have screwed me over. I have bought them so much business I got 6 other family members to get a Volkswagen. So glad all leases are coming to an end. We will never support Volkswagen again. I will shout from the Mountain top!! Hate them all. Trust me lease or buy elsewhere!! Please believe me I have so many horror stories dealing with them!!

I own a 2013 GTI and in November 2015 the water pump started leaking fluid. After taking the car to the VW dealership, I was informed there was a recall on the water pump and it was replaced. Fast forward to 2017; the water pump that was replaced in 2015 starting leaking (having found this out after taking the GTI back to VW). I informed the service department that water pump was replaced due to a recall. They preceded to locate when the water pump had been replaced. The service department contact Volkswagen checking to see they would pay for repairs since the water pump was replaced due to the recall...Volkswagen would only pay half of the bill. I contacted Volkswagen, stating that evidently the water pumps are faulty if only after 14 months after installation the water pump requires replacement again. The representative that was helping me, advised she contacted someone at Volkswagen and that is all they would do. I told her again... after only 14 months and the water pump is being replaced again, that tells me that Volkswagen water pumps are faulty!

Being a foreigner for over 4 years in the US, I had a hard time building credit, trying to get credit cards but banks never wanting to give them due to being on a US visa. So after I got denied several times years before I finally got financing on a Passat with $6000 down payment and a 14% interest rate and of course the salespeople at VW Santa Monica scamming me by making the price higher when we did the contract, from $17399 to suddenly $18956 or something including all the fees, so that I pay interest ON the fees as well (did not know better) paying $26.000 something on the car when paid off! So almost $9000 more than this crappy car is worth. Anyway, after paying on time for more than 1 year, I lost my job and fell behind with payments. I called a few times asking to refinance or lower the payments to no avail. Then fell behind 5 month and of course when I call they tell me car is in repo but they take the repo off if I pay at least 4 payments asap. I tell them I am overseas and need to have my US checks cleared through my bank which took 3-4 weeks over the Christmas holidays. So as soon as it cleared I send a money order via FedEx with 5 month worth of payments to get current. So I call 2 weeks later and they tell me I have to return the car as my account was closed. I am like, WHAT??? They told me on the phone if I pay 5 payments they will take off the repo and I can pay monthly via bank transfer from then on, and I call and they just canceled everything they said before and say Pay $14.000 - right now or bring the car back. I cannot believe it. They say, Contract says bla bla cancelled when in default, even after I agreed on the phone to pay them 5 payments and get current and DID pay them, they say, It was TOO LATE and now they want the total outstanding on the car within days or need the car back. What a ** company, the WORST liars and scammers out there! I paid up, she confirmed my payment but supposedly it was days too late. So now I dont know what to do, lose $26000, and the car, cannot drive to work without a car, still have to pay off the rest. Instead of working with us these scammers rather take your car and still have you pay off the rest because they is how they make money. NEVER VOLKSWAGEN AGAIN. Worst car company ever. I am going back to Honda or anything that is better than this ** pile of a company. Will tell all my friends to never buy a VW!

The axel on our 2018 7 passenger Volkswagen Atlas broke 19 days after driving it off of the lot. Took the car back to the dealer and they deemed the Atlas unsafe to drive. This is extremely alarming considering had we been on the road with our 3 small children, this situation could have been very bad. The service department at Stone Mountain Volkswagen was very understanding and set an expectation of 2-3 weeks to repair. They put us in a loaner vehicle a Volkswagen CC. Which was all they had at the time. We could barely fit into the car and the car had no trunk space. The whole reason for wanting the Atlas was for the space and we thought it was a safe vehicle for our family. We dealt with the length of time it would take to fix because we actually thought our car was getting repaired. At exactly 3 weeks after taking the vehicle back my husband and I called to find out what was going on as we heard nothing in regards to the Atlas being repaired. We were told at that time that the dealership was still looking to get the part. At that time they said that it would be another 3-4 weeks. Which at this point we were pretty frustrated and disappointed. We are paying for a vehicle that we cannot even drive, and the dealer has had it longer than we have. We also found out, at the 30 day mark, from the dealership that the company that makes the part had no ETA on when the part would be ready. At this point we were upset. Felt like Volkswagen did not care about a client who is paying for a SUV while driving a car that can barely fit your family. Also upset because during this time nobody proactively reached out to inform us of the situation. We also called Volkswagen Customer Care several times in regards to this and got the same answer, Im sorry but no resolution until one rep named Ryan (thanks Ryan) decided to escalate it to a Region Manager. The manager made calls to my husband while he was at work, when he was able to call back the manager did not answer. He left voicemails for her to call back. She never did. She then called to notify us that the case would be transferred to Retention Resolution Team. We havent heard from them yet. We also called Volkswagen Group of America Corporate Department and we were transferred to the TDI Escalation Department, in which we had to leave another message. After the 30 days passed we overnighted the Vehicle Repurchase or Replacement Request to an address that we received from another Volkswagen Customer Care representative to have the car replaced, which is within our right under Georgia Lemon Laws. Yesterday the Dealership called and said the part would be ready next week. They called back today and said the vehicle was fixed and that we should come get it. This is very suspicious as we do not want a rush job because we do not want to be right back in this situation and if it was this easy of a fix then why was it not done in a reasonable timeframe. It is also suspicious that now something is being done because it seems like they do not want to give us a complete new car, which to my understanding is required by law. This has been a very unpleasant experience, and we never had this problem with our Volkswagen Jetta.

I purchased the vehicle almost a year ago. After month with the car, I started to hear door noises on my car - squeaky and cracking sounds. I’ve been going to the dealership for about 10 times and they haven’t fixed the problem. Dealerships are not Helpful. I told him I didn’t, the car has a defect but they keep saying they can fix the problem. I’ve been having this problem for a year now. This is the last time I’m gonna be getting a Volkswagen Product. Not satisfied with his vehicle at all.

My fiancee leased upon my recommendation in 2013 a VW CC. We decided to return it 2 months before the lease ended. The mileage on the car was 35% lower than what the lease contract specified, as it was only used half a year (snow birds in Florida). The car had absolutely no visible wear and tear, neither the body nor the inside. Upon delivery of the car we never ever got a call from the dealer asking why we were returning it. Neither did we get any comments about the returned car. Neither were we asked to have it surveyed. 2 weeks after delivery we get a statement from VW asking for over $400.00 for deep scratches on the hood, the outside mirrors, the bumper. I call VW-credit and raise my objection. The answer: We do not care what your arguments are. We had it surveyed by SGS and they assessed the damages!! I dont know which car they assessed but certainly not the one which we returned. I asked, why were we not informed about these damages nor were we supplied the SGS-inspection report. The answer from the incredibly rude VW-Credit employee: Its not our business to supply you with a report from the surveyor nor is it our job to inform you of the damage!!!I argued that the dealer should have informed us if they had independently found any damage. The answer from VW Credit Then go and complain to them. We have nothing to do with the dealer. We recommend you pay as promptly or we will take action against you, which wont be good for you. We complained to the sales Manager at VW in Naples Florida, where we leased the car. The reply from the manager: We have nothing to do with this. If you have complaints then address them to VW Credit!!Called back VW-Credit. The bottom line answer: Report the damages to your insurance company. I replied, NO, I am not committing insurance fraud for you to cash money because that is exactly what you are asking me to do. I repeated that the car had absolutely zero scratches nor damages. What was the reply from VW-Credit: We have no time for people like you. Phone hung up!We have leased the following brands in the past 10 years: Lexus, Kia, BMW. Have we EVER encountered any problems returning the cars? Never ever! Quite the contrary, we received letters thanking us for the business and inviting us to visit our dealer of trust so that he could help us choose a new vehicle. One fact is sure: NEVER EVER AGAIN WILL WE LEASE OR PURCHASE A VW!! If you have one under a lease contract, BEWARE WHEN YOU RETURN IT. We all know that VW needs to make up for the losses incurred due to the fraud committed with the emission scandal. Defrauding customers even more to get money from their pockets at the end of a lease is certainly a good way to reaffirm the company moral.

Our 2018 Atlas went in for 8 software updates around Thanksgiving, 2018. We still had a COLD heater, meaning blowing cold air like middle of the summer. Our Atlas December 5th with scheduled pickup of Dec 7th. We were given a loaner (a tiny Jetta, not 3 seat Atlas we are used to). But we thought, ok, we were told the fix would be done by Wednesday. Then, the next Wednesday, then more excuses. Let me tell you, after 2 months! We went to the dealer to get OUR payment after 1 month, to pay on our vehicle we DID not have. To find the entire inside dash and more completely torn out! The excuse was, it was always the wrong part, going to take another week. Finally, we opened a case with the regional so called manager, Chris. What did he and VW do for us? NOTHING. They delayed, and delayed and finally gave us (after calling and begging repeatedly), a drop dead date of February 1st, claiming their Lawyer process takes 10 working days, we still got a sorry, were very sorry, but it will be Monday or Tuesday before I can give you an answer. In the meantime, leading us to believe they were going to replace the vehicle at full cost, or more, and give us our two month payment back. GUESS WHAT! NOT!!! Chris and Volkswagen KEPT leading us on giving excuses as the dealer didnt send us the forms, blah blah BS. Chris, the so called regional manger and VW lead us on and kept delaying, until, guess what, they say, Come get your vehicle. Its fixed. Thats the response!!! No joke. It is Feb 8th!! We have been BURIED in snow. Our family has ridden in a NOT EVEN comparable vehicle for over 2 months. We have lost work time and more dealing with the issues, and, oh yeah, made two full payments on a vehicle we did not have. Did VW or the dealership compensate us for any of this??? NO NO NO. Come get your so called fixed LEMON vehicle. DO NOT EVER, EVER...I repeat, EVER buy VW...PERIOD. Im also forwarding this story on to DATELINE, and CBS for 60 minutes. This is more than a problem of VW in America, and hard working people. This has been just wrong.

I am so unhappy with the service and the cars Ive been driving. It is one problem after the other. My problem is you guys keep on fixing how many times must a new car be fixed. I changed my previous Polo for the new Polo because of the problems it gave me and the constant fixing. The new Polo is a bigger piece of rubbish with endless issues. Can you just take your car please. Im not interested in any more fixing. I had enough. This is what Ive been experiencing: wind sound problem, the brakes noise, the 2 seat belt campaigns, the handbrake campaign, an Issue with the handbrake, I had an issue with the tyre alert thing as well. It said that the left rear was low but the right rear had a puncture, And now to top it all off its raining in at the sun visor. I was soaking wet yesterday by the time I got home from work. Please understand I do not need these kind of problems from something I pay EVERY month. I bought the car from VW at Edenvale.

I bought brand new Volkswagen 2010 from dealership in Kansas City. It was serviced regularly by the VW dealers. One evening, I came back from the work, parked the car in my driveway and next morning, the car would not start. I towed the car to the service center at the dealership and they say it needs a new motor. A 74K mile Volkswagen needs a new motor. I asked the reason and the service manager says oil level was low in the car and the car if out of the warranty now. This car was service by VW dealer in Lees Summit before 3 months of the breakdown, its Check Engine indicator never got turned on, the car does not consume oil and all of a sudden the engine failed. The service center says they serviced the car properly, dealership says its out of manufacturers warranty and I am stuck with this expense of $11000. The car does not have a single dent on its body, its trim, interior is all like a new car but the engine is bad. After spending enormous time talking to the dealership, service center, VW area manager, district manager and all, we concluded that this is the last Volkswagen in my life. And me and my entire family has become a great anti-Volkswagen advocate. Absolutely shameless managers, irresponsible service center and liar manufacturer. We advise all the readers to avoid buying any product of Volkswagen. Buy it if you want to throw away your hard earned money in drain.

They lied to me about putting my extra money that I sent in to go to the principal. I had to call them several times and was told every month I pay I have to call them and tell them to put the overpayment to the principal. I have never been late on my payment and I feel like they are charging me more than what Im to repay. I hope and pray that the company has hardships because Im sure Im not the only person they are doing this to.

We lease new Volkswagen November 2018. During a family road trip to Newfoundland one morning, there was a mosquito flying around on near the windshield inside the car. In an effort to swat the pest, the windshield was lightly hit and consequently left a crack on the windshield. Although, the night before was rainy and cold, leaving the windshield more vulnerable to cracking. It does not make it okay for the windshield to crack for such a tiny impact. This is most definitely a quality issue with the glass material that composes the windshield. Driving 18 hours home to Toronto from Newfoundland was very unpleasant and scary from the thought of the windshield completely shattering at any moment. After coming back to Toronto, Volkswagen told us that it was our problem that we broke the windshield and that we hit it too hard. But realistically, how hard could someone possibly swat a mosquito. Customer service was very unpleasant during the process and left us very unsatisfied. I hope they can realize that their windshield quality was at fault and that they can replace the windshield with a more durable windshield to ensure my familys safety.
