I love these cars, but I am not understanding how the AC system went out twice in my ownership of this car. 2017 at 75k and 2019 at 136k. What is wrong, you should recall. It was out of pocket expense for me. No extended coverage expired at 65k.

Kateryna of Northfield, IL on Nov. 19, 2014. In reference to a review about Tiguan VW. I had the exact same chain of events including the sudden stopping of the engine, false lights, the computer fixing by the dealership. But my Tiguan 09 @52,000k stopped completely (engine) in a very cold/snow winter morning with our then 6-month old baby in the car. The car had to be towed!! The car was still under warranty 52,000 & less than 5 yrs. yet the dealer and VW refused to fix the car. We made payment To VW the car isnt working for 18 months. So we lost around $30k and we have no car! We have a second car its a Jetta 2011. We are experiencing similar issues and we feel absolutely frustrated dealing with VW. We are wasting too much time, energy and most of all money on VW. The worst experience ever twice!!

Purchased our 2013 Tiguan new. Babied it... Changed oil early and often, always garaged. Tires replaced with Michelin Pilot Sport because original Michelins gone @ 14k. Rear window exploded in parking lot untouched (I was behind it when it happened). Tires shot AGAIN @ 40k... Would have been $1200 more but had warranty, so ONLY $600!!! Took it in for TX inspection @ 48k... Upper control arms/bushings shot... Replaced for $1300.00. Don’t buy VW... They’re not only crooks, they are also thieves!!!

I leased a 2012 CC for 3 years and now Im financing because Im tired of having a car payment. I have 51K miles on the car and got a 48K mile warranty with the new financing. I have got all the scheduled maintenance done at the dealership, Palisadas VW in NY, and have never been told about a carbon build up. So a month or 2 ago, when I started the car when the engine was cold, I was getting a putting like feel and sound coming from the exhaust. I felt nervous driving the car but once the car was warm and on the highway, everything was good. I took the car to the dealership. I have the top of the line warranty so why not, and the guy said since the Check Engine Light isnt on, the warranty wont cover it but once it does come on to bring it in and hell get it cleaned. So last week the light came on. I brought the car to the dealership right away. Well what do you know, the warranty doesnt cover it. And to top it all off, they want to charge me $1100. Im beyond pissed. I called VW Corporate and now Im in a fight with them. After seeing that other people have had the same problem, its like they put keep that out of the warranty so they can bang you over the head when you need it done. I tried to tell the woman from Corporate that they can easily call this little dealership and tell them what to do and they will listen quickly. Every dealership will do whatever to keep corporate from calling. I forgot to mention that this is my second car with VW. I Leased a Jetta for 3 years, and paid off the while lease within 6 months, and now leased my CC for 3 years, and financed for 5 years. Ive never had a late payment. Im your ideal customer. Im also a combat veteran. So corporate says they want to put a fuel injector cleaner type into the car and see if that works. They did that today and when I spoke to the service guy at VW we both agreed that it wasnt going to do anything. He asked if I could leave the car overnight so the tech can cold start it in the morning and they were authorized to do the procedure again. I said to do it, might as well since its free, and I have to the steps corporate spoke about. As I was writing this, corporate called. I told her I was doing research and seeing other people having the same problem and that I was so angry. Of course she said We dont want you to be angry, and I said we both know theres only one way Im not going to be angry and thats to just clean it properly. I told her I wouldnt have bought the car if I knew this would happen. I wouldve leased or financed something new or left VW all together. So we shall see tomorrow how this soap opera continues. I will fight this to the end and take it as high up the ladder as need be. I recommend that if other people are having the same problem to contact corporate and fight with me. Thanks for reading, God bless and Fight The Power.

Now they are not giving me warranty - first they told me 3 years warranty but now they created 50000 bill. Now you people tell me what to do. My car is in workshop. I introduce myself to you as a long-time and loyal VW customer. I have owned seven VWs in my life. Currently, I own a 2017 Touareg and a 2016 Jetta (son). Obviously, I enjoy the VW brand. It goes without saying that the events surrounding the TDI matter have been disappointing to me as such a loyal customer. Having said that, I accepted your apologies on behalf of VW and the terms of the TDI settlement as they related to my 2014 Passat TDI. Not only did I agree to the settlement terms as outlined by the US Courts, I went on to purchase the 2017 Touareg after turning in my Passat in late November. To be brief, the settlement process has been an unmitigated disaster by all accounts. I entered into a signed agreement with Volkswagen on or around December 22, 2016. I was told my funds and the funds promised via the settlement agreement owed to Fidelity Bank would be distributed within three business days. Indeed, I received my portion of the settlement funds timely. Unfortunately, as of todays date, some 60 plus days later, the bank has yet to receive their funds. Although, the representatives from Fidelity Bank have done what they can to assist me, in order to keep from being sent to collections and adversely impacting my 820 credit rating, I have been forced to make multiple additional car payments on a vehicle that I have not possessed since November 2016. Not to make light of the tangible financial losses in terms of interest and principle, I have spent conservatively 40 hours in phone calls and e-mails back and forth with the claims center, the bank and now the plaintiffs general counsel. Despite my efforts, NOT one single person has taken the leadership to step-in to rectify this matter.Let me say this, the service rendered by the VW claims department is deplorable! I have been a risk manager and claims/litigation manager in the insurance industry for the past 27 years. I have worked for and with some of the best. Simply said, the claims department handling the TDI settlements is THE WORST. They have been unprofessional, dishonest and in my opinion, they have continued to commit fraud on behalf of VW. The plaintiffs general counsel is doing what they can to assist me. However, to date, they have not been able to rectify this matter. Without continuing on, which believe me I could, I will leave you with this. I fully expect this matter to be resolved at the end of business today. That includes the payoff to my bank as promised to me when I signed the settlement documents in December 2016. In addition, I expect compensation for the accrued interest, principle payments and my extensive time that I have had to dedicate to this matter to protect my personal and financial interest.I have engaged individual counsel to pursue additional counts of fraud and material misrepresentation against VW. Additionally, I have reached out to local law enforcement to file criminal theft charges against VW and their corporate representatives for the unlawful taking of my 2014 VW Passat TDI. I will post this letter on every social media site possible by the end of the business day today should I not receive an immediate and satisfactory response. The actions by VW as outlined above constitute continued criminal and fraudulent behavior!

My Advice to all the folks who are even planning to buy a Volkswagen vehicl
My Advice to all the folks who are even planning to buy a Volkswagen vehicle, Dont even think about it. Unless you have lots of money and use and throw car. Its a shame on you Volkswagen!! All the car manufacturers (Its shame for me to say your competitors) are building cars that last for 200K miles and your car is falling apart after 90K miles. I had this car which likes to go back to the workshop every 2 weeks once its marked 90K miles. Its shame on your assembly employees, quality control engineers. Are they sleeping? Or you are not paying them well? Please take all the money that you make from the repairs caused by these breaking parts and give them as bonus. Motivate them to at least build something so that at least you can call yourself as car company. I was always recommending friends about this company... Now I realized big mistake. Sorry VW. Not any more. I changed my advice. None of my friends/colleagues are no more going to buy VW if they get my feedback. To all the folks who are planning to buy - I would suggest instead of buying a vw, just drop $100 into the toilet daily and flush it. That will at least save time from going back and forth between the repairs.

I purchased this vehicle new and after the first 30 days my 2019 Tiguan had problems - mainly electrical. I decided to wait on my next payment. I wasn’t even 30 days behind with the vehicle was repo’d. Never will own a VW again. Worst experience ever for a vehicle I only had for 90 days and they sent it straight to the auction so they can get a big balance from me!!

I bought a VW Tiguan in Dec. 2019, top of the line with bells and whistles.
I bought a VW Tiguan in Dec. 2019, top of the line with bells and whistles. About 14,000 Km after, when I took it for the 15k km service, I asked them to have a look at the brakes as theyve started to make some noise. They said the brakes overheat, the metal is blue (sign of overheating) and they theyll need to be replaced. $1,500 invoice. They said the warranty doesnt want to cover it as it is a consumable. I know that the warranty doesnt cover consumables (oil, filters, brake pads etc), but this is the first car I have to change the brakes under 60,000 - 80,000 Km. I love my cars and I look after them, but I see this as a factory defect, not a user error.I would like to clarify something: Ive owned and drove multiple cars along the years. Im a car guy, I love cars. I bought the Tiguan for my wife, but I drove it 90% of the time due to some circumstances. I had multiple German cars, Japanese and American cars over the years. Just so you know, Im not looking for any freebies, discounts or anything like that. Just want the manufacturer and representatives to stand behind their claims and contracts. The dealer cant change them on warranty, theyve submitted pictures and technical reports to VW Canada but theyve rejected any warranty claims. Ive called them directly to talk about the situation, theyve opened another case and VW Canada said theyll get back to me in 48 hours. Few days later I called them again as I didnt hear anything from them. They said another 48 hours...This becomes a joke, they throw the blame from one to the other and together to the put it in the owners lap to pay it. The warranty is a shame, they make the best to get out of replacing faulty parts or repair them stating its user fault. I start to have doubts about the parts reliability and warranty, at least not in North America. Unless you have a blown engine in less than 1,000 Km, they wont cover anything, and even then, they might say youve done something wrong to it or looked in the mirror the wrong way.

I dont usually do this because I believe in the good of others. But I am so disappointed with this company because of the length of time it has taken for you to report to the credit agencies that I no longer have a VW. It has been 3 plus years (March 2016) since I paid off the car in question and ever since I have tried to get a house the past few months have been hell because I have had to verify it every time someone checks my credit because your company didnt do what they were supposed to do when I turned in the car. Needless to say I will never be buying a car from you ever again.

I have owned 3 new VWs financed all 3 by VW credit, you never change the paperwork to reflect a paid loan, still 10 years later it says VW credit is a lien holder, not true. Many recalls on my former car that I continue to receive notices on even though I traded it into VW when I purchased my last VW. Just gave my final VW to a junkyard after service from a dealer here in Chicago that took a week to give me my car back and then the problem (coolant leak, replacement of tower) continued to leak and they tried to overcharge me but I had it in writing, very shady people, bad service, dont know anyone that has that kind of time. Just want to buy a car that I enjoy driving and be treated fairly, not too much to ask but VW has failed miserably, no more VWs for me sadly.

The intake manifold has failed on my boyfriends 2010 CC sport. This part has an extended 10 year/120,000 mi warranty on it. His vehicle is just outside of that warranty in mileage (121,500) and they wont do anything to ease the cost of replacing part. The whole reason they extended the warranty was because they expected the part to fail within 10 years, and its definitely less than 10 years old. Because other car manufacturers would take this into consideration and do some type of prorate of split the difference in parts & labor or something of the like, we called and asked them to do this. And they just dont care. No reason to build brand loyalty, I guess. Every time weve had to deal with them, it has been a head ache - the Takata airbag recall for instance. My mom has a Honda. Honda gave her a rental until they could fix the problem because it is unsafe to drive at the risk of having a collision and being pumped full of shrapnel from your airbags. She got her car back, fixed, 2 weeks ago, though she was in a rental for about a month. When we called VW about it then best response that we could get was why its safe to continue driving it around. Or how the NHTSA doesnt find it unsafe. The funny thing is, I research EVERYTHING. And according to everything I found, the NHTSA is who demanded the recall. VW responded with a letter as to why they should be exempt from it. The recall was issued in 2014, and VW just started recalling in February 2016. Shame on this company for caring so little about its drivers & for being so reckless with consumers lives in general. VERY disappointing. If you want reliability, you may want to go with a less expensive vehicle as they seem to have a better attitude and overall view of customer service.

Cant believe the nerve of Volkswagen’s warranty and a slap on the hand. Dealership guys were very respectful and friendly but doing very bad illegal things again. Took my 2011 TDI Jetta under warranty to the dealership for LONG START and ACCELERATION LAG, (fuel issues). Day 2 of having my vehicle, Jason via text message asked for approval to do a fuel filter and air filter change for 185+tax. I asked wasnt FUEL FILTER covered under my warranty. Via text message, was told NO. Called corporate and was set up with an advisor (Kyle) who did not return my call before I was told to come get my car on day 3. Went to the dealership and spoke to a supervisor named Matt **. Asked him to explain what part about ENTIRE FUEL SYSTEM doesnt apply to the fuel filter. His explanation to me, maybe it was worded wrong. I am a certified MASTER tech and I bought this car for the warranty VW was offering. Couldnt believe it. Shouldnt have believed it. I have attached a copy of a page from my warranty booklet which leads us consumers buying these vehicles to believe Volkswagen has our back, not that we are buying and inheriting someone elses problem. I bought the vehicle about 4,000 miles ago and was told it needed done and asked for money for it. Since I did not get the job done, I was charged $143 this morning to get my vehicle back. I asked for a itemized list of what the tech did to diagnose my vehicle since I am paying $135+tax for diag. Was that honored? No, for 3 days my vehicle was with them and my warranty not covered. Advisors say whatever the dealership says because clearly in black and white for anyone to read ENTIRE not excluding filter, would lead you to believe it is covered, especially when the system is under high pressure and you have to prime the system so its really not a DIY for most consumers buying these vehicles. I didnt write the warranty and it should be honored. Not only that, my warranty also states conflicts concerning the warranty, are to be resolved in favor of the consumer. Volkswagen follow the law and honor your warranty and not play word games with the people you are trying to earn the trust back from. Im going to the top with my issue and litigation for selling me a vehicle under false advertising. Not only that, but I also have a warranty under the HPFP recall warranting me anything that touches gas. If I have to fight for my $143 back and my warranty honored, Im going to make sure the courts give their vehicle back to them.

We leased a VW Tiguan in 2018. The lease is coming to an end this October. We called the company early August and indicated that we want to buy off our car. We compiled all the necessary documents and issued a cashier check for the pay off account and send all documents in mid August 2021. We were told we should receive the title in 3 to 4 weeks. We heard nothing so we called on September 8 to follow up they said it is ready they will rush mail it to us to receive by the end of the week.Nothing happened again so we called back September 17 only to be told they are missing Odometer Disclosure which we did submit with the packet in mid August. We sent the Disclosure by secure message after the fax number the customer service person gave me on the phone failed. They said, All clear. You should receive the title end of the week. The week ended we are now the 26 September and 6 weeks after full payment and we have no title. We cannot sell the car, we cannot refinance it and we are at loss for what to do to get our title from this company. I am now considering going to court for injunction. VW is simply a dishonest company and I will never drive any car by this company again.

I have had 6 VWs since 1968, and they do not work well. Yes I am a chump. I get drawn in by VWs nice fit and handling. But, believe me they make a very unreliable car. But the worst part is the arrogance that imbues every VW. Of course the TDI cheating scandal just underscores decades of this arrogance. When the Passat I had got bad coils a few years back they would not admit it. They would only replace them one at time as they failed. When a brand new Jetta gas model had the oil seal break all over my garage after 4k miles it was just business as usual. I have had every sort of fan failure, electric issue under the sun. Both my Passat and daughters Jetta heater blowers sound like birds chirping when you take left turn. Bring it under warranty and VW says no problem found. How about blinker signals that do not work when it get below 25 degrees F? Friends, any car can have problems but with VW they just dont care and that attitude just cost them billions of dollars, so far, and millions of USA customers. The brand is permanently sullied. I bet they dont care since they can make up their lost sales in China, they think.

When purchasing a VW product be aware of the total cost of ownership. Many VW parts are proprietary and the Company charges accordingly. For example, changing the battery on a key fob - $75 (requires programming), to replacing a door latch (including labor) $471.57, supplying an air conditioning hose (part only) $368.39. My car was in an accident and my insurance company wrote it off as a total loss. During the process, at least with my insurance, they usually do a three way phone call involving the insurance agent, a representative from the financing company, and myself. The insurance company called four days in a row and waited on hold for over an hour each time. They suggested that, in addition to their attempts, that I could try and call VW credit also. I waited on hold for 45 minutes before talking to someone. The person I was connected to at VW credit was extremely rude right off the bat. After I explained why I was calling she immediately accused my insurance company of failing to make the calls and thats why this wasnt resolved. My insurance company is a massive, nationwide company. My claim is hardly a big deal to them. I asked her if she could call the insurance so we could get this resolved immediately and she informed me that they could not place outbound calls. Thirty seconds later she made the call to them. She then informed me, with a very snotty voice, that their hold times were similar to their own and it would be a minute.About three minutes later she returned to my call informing me that she had spoken with the insurance agent and had everything resolved for the most part. This person was extremely rude and I am completely outraged that a company allows their employees to speak to customers this way. I am nothing but respectful on the phone and I was trying to get the car paid off!! I am going to a VW dealer tomorrow and if they are unable to find me financing with anyone but VW credit it looks like I wont be driving another VW anytime soon.

08/10/2019 Volkswagen and Audi Poor REVIEWS, 2 Volkswagen products experiences at early miles, 57,000 to 62.494 2012 Audi A4 and 2014 Volkswagen GTI, known problems by Volkswagen. I had a 2012 Audi A4 with engine light that would come on after 56,000 miles. I brought it in to 3 dealerships in Louisiana. They would tell me they didn’t understand because diagnostics says car is running smoothly. I told them, That’s fine if it’s running smoothly, but selling a car with an engine light is a loss for me, because who wants to buy a car with an engine light. They all said, It must be something intermittent. Lafayette, LA, Baton Rouge, LA, New Orleans, LA. I finally brought it to a dealership in Orlando Florida. I told them to impress me. Audi was good for a next car by fixing my issue. They said, Give us a few days to work on. I did. They charged $989. It was good for 2 months and light back on. Sold that vehicle. The problem was an intermittent overproduction of fuel that no one could fix for good.2014 Volkswagen GTI, guess what, light came on on this one at same mileage, 57,000 to 62,494. I read up on the engine light regarding P2015 code, which is an intake manifold problem, that Volkswagen recognized as a problem, but instead of recalling, they decided to extend warranty to 120,000 miles, but only as a lottery picking of VIN numbers, so if your VIN wasn’t on list, and you had the same problem, you had to pay for this poor quality intake manifold problem. They would clean if only cleaning, $1200. If it involved the worse case, it took changing manifold, of which that would be, needless to say, much more, mind you at 60,000 miles this expensive cost. So yeah, look forward to this much expenses at this early in the life of the vehicle. So one thing is knowing Volkswagen recognized the problem, but treated fix as only some would qualify for extended warranty, and if you experience problem and your VIN wasn’t on list you have to pay. You call Volkswagen Headquarters or customer care, because if there is a problem, and manufacturer is willing to work with you and understand extenuating circumstances, explaining you had two of their products, and they make things good and go the distance, then that’s good, because all you want is a fix/corrective action; however, when you speak to dealership and report to headquarters, and all they want to quote to you is that it’s out of their hands, that your car’s VIN # is not lucky enough to be on the list (lottery/pot luck), ... so you’re stuck with a young car with enormous expenses, after the expensive purchase was not long ago.Yes, bad vehicles of Volkswagen, 2012 Audi A4, and 2014 Volkswagen GTI, both at range of 56,000 to 62,494 miles, you are left up the creek without a paddle and large loss of money. One never was fixed and had to sell at lesser amount because of engine light no one could do anything about. The other is just extreme expense for cleaning or replacement of intake manifold that company recognizes problems, but handles whether warranty is extended or not based on whether your car’s VIN was included, like on a lottery. Thank you. Dwayne **.

The Customer service at this location is the worst Ive ever experience at any dealership. Ive own the car I purchased from them for 7 years now and every time I take it in for servicing I have to wait hours before they complete the simplest thing, i.e. oil change, state inspection. I will never purchase another vehicle from this place or any Volkswagen dealerships based on the service Ive have received.

I am extremely disappointed in my recent experience with Volkswagon Roadside Assistance. On Friday, April 15, 2016 we accidentally put 1.5 gallons of gas in our nearly empty 2012 Jetta TDI. I called Roadside Assistance for support and they advised me to have the car delivered to the dealership. A master mechanic suggested that we could fill the tank the rest of the way with diesel and have no problem. Trying to make a decision, I asked the Roadside representative what they would do at the dealership. He explained that they would lift it up, drain the tank and flush out the fuel lines, and said that Roadside would pay for the service. I said Roadside will cover it? and he confirmed. Based on the fact that Roadside said they would cover the cost of the service, I chose to go ahead with the tow rather than dealing with the situation on my own.On Saturday, April 16 I called Harmony Motors, our local dealership in Asheville, NC to check the status of my car. I was directed to the voicemail of someone who would be out of town for a week. His message warned that no voicemails would be received until his return. I called Harmony Motors again on Monday, April 18. They were surprised to hear from me and said they had no record of my car being there and could not recall seeing it come in. The mechanic said he would search the lot and get back to me. After two hours of panicking that my car was stolen and several calls to the dealership, Roadside and tow service, I finally heard back that they had found my car. Roadside Assistance gave the dealership NO information about my vehicle. The tow service they hired left my keys in the car without notifying anyone in the service department. My car sat in the lot for three nights and two whole days before anyone knew it was there. Now its Tuesday, April 19. The mechanic finally called me back to tell me what service needs to be done, and that it will cost over $500. I told him Roadside said they would pay for it. He followed up with Roadside, then called me back to inform me that Roadside is not going to pay. So, obviously I followed up with Roadside. I explained the situation to the representative and she said the manager would listen to the recording of the call and get back to me. I was hopeful because the representative was very clear. The manager was Felicia ** from the St. Petersburg, FL office. She said she listened to the call and that Roadside Assistance does not cover repairs and that I misunderstood the representative. I urged her to have someone listen to the conversation for another opinion. I explained that I am confident it was not a misunderstanding, and that perhaps the representative was misinformed about the companys policy. Even so, they should adhere to any promises made by their company reps. She said that it states clearly in the manual that Roadside does not cover the cost of repairs and that this written policy overrides anything that is said in person. She would not let me speak to her supervisor and would not give me her full name (I retrieved that later from VW Customer Care). She was rude, impolite, insensitive, and crass.I then followed up with VW Customer Care. I waited on the line for 40 minutes before my call was answered. I filed a complaint about my experience and the representative I spoke with here was very nice and understanding. I received a follow-up phone call from the VW Roadside Customer Care manager who further confirmed that Roadside will not pay for the service even if the representative claimed that they would. The written policy overrides anything else. I explained that this is an unethical way to operate a business and its not how I operate my own. If a representative makes a claim to a customer, the company should honor that promise and then take it up with the representative.I have gone four days without my car, hours of stress and time away from work, and am now facing a $500 bill that I could have avoided if I had the correct information from VW. It is clear that this company is well rooted in dishonesty, misinformation, extremely poor customer relations and no understanding of ethics. I hope this story shares more on the truth of how VW operates and that their words cannot be trusted. So what have we learned from this? If you want an accurate representation of Volkswagens services, I guess you need to consult written documents. Unless you happen to be inquiring about clean diesel. Then, unfortunately, youre ** out of luck.

This is the second brand new VW GTI I have purchased. The first one I bought in 2012 had its fair share of issues but everything was covered under warranty and getting the car repaired was mildly painless (could not get rental/loaner car while repairs were made). Despite my better judgment on the reliability issues concerning the first VW I purchased I went ahead and purchased the more expensive (automatic DSG) version of the GTI for 2015. I have had numerous issues with the car including mechanical failures, cosmetic failures, and water leaking into my vehicle right through both of the rear doors. I cannot be relieved of my issues and the manufacturer (Volkswagen) will do nothing to help me (The consumer). It is surprising to me especially after the whole VW Diesel thing that VW will not even try to reach out to help the existing customer base they have left here. Needless to say I will be trading my car in (doors still leak after four or five attempts to repair to no avail). I will never be buying a Volkswagen again or recommending one to anyone I know. The second dealer I had attempt to repair my doors actually damaged both of my rear doors in the process and scratched my vehicle. If youre considering buying a VW then DONT. I honestly would recommend them despite the problems I had IF the customer service wasnt so poor. I am truly disappointed with my purchase and will think about this mistake I have made for years to come. The image I have included is the water leaking into my rear door. (This cannot be corrected despite the numerous attempts from two different authorized VW dealerships) Mind you this is nearly a brand new car with less than 16000 miles.

I noticed my 2009 Volkswagen Tiguan Headliner was coming apart from the sunglass compartment. The next morning it had separated from the light. I drove my car to the Lundes dealer in Peoria. The serviceman gave me the number to Volkswagen customer service. I spoke to Dylan, who told me they only warranty the item for 3 years/36 thousand miles. I was so upset. I asked to talk to his supervisor, who on a Friday was not around. I received a call from Stephanie this morning, restating my concerns of the failing headliner. I asked if she wanted pictures to help VW figure out why they have failing glue. She just repeated what the script reader had to say. I then asked to talk to her manager. I havent heard from them. I cannot believe a car this age has a headliner falling down. I would be ashamed if I was Volkswagen. This is not a wear and tear item. This should not be happening. Thanks Volkswagen for the disappointment.

2011 VW Golf TDI Engine Problems - So I purchased my Golf new in 2011. It has ran strong and I have had very few issues which were all very minor. After putting 70k miles on the car I had to replace something in the front end which cost around 1000 dollars. Now at 130k miles the check engine and glow plug light came on. The cars power reduced by 50%. A few miles down the road it completely shut down. Had VW conduct a diagnostics. They told me that my high pressure fuel pump HPFP had failed and contaminated my fuel system. Also the catalytic converter and particulate filter was shot. Oh yea and need to replace the water pump and fix the timing. So, the parts list was 2 pages long and the total including labor was over 8,000 dollars. Let me remind you that this car is a 2011 model, 95% highway miles and is in good condition. I have truly enjoyed driving this car and expected many more miles out of the TDI engine. I havent had the repair completed yet. It going to cost more than the damn car is worth. I have mixed emotions about owning another Volkswagen.

2010 VW CC 70k miles, in 10 months, has gone through 2 water pumps, an intake manifold, fuel pump control module (failed driving down the road, started to overheat and it sits on top of the fuel tank... fire waiting to happen?), coolant line cracked open and leaked, 3 oil leaks, new spark plugs at 40000 miles because one failed, new ignition coils as one started misfiring, windshield washer fluid pump has stopped working, the driver side window now goes down by itself (Ive had to unplug the buttons to keep my window closed), and now Im experiencing random power loss... Total cost so far in 10 months? $6,000!!!Oh and with VW direct injection, my valves were caked in carbon at 50,000 miles. Thats a 1500 dollar fix but my engine was already in pieces to fix everything else. Total absolute junk. Not even useful as a paperweight because it will spill its fluids over your paper. I would reckon the 2.0 tsi is one if the worst engines made. Too bad its not diesel or Id have VW buy my car back and never touch a German product again. I would sue VW but Texas has terrible lemon laws so Im stuck with VW customer service doing something about it or notifying anyone who can fog a mirror to never touch a VW product.

I thought I loved VW. Heck, I use to live in a town just outside of Wolfburg, GE. (Erkerode) It was a happy day when I purchased my 1st VW Jetta TDI. Drove like a champ and great on gas. Main reason I got it was because my daily commute was 2hrs 15min 1 way (all highway). Everything was good. Getting oil changes and services IAW VW. Then the emissions scandal happened. And I wont drone on about that. But, shortly thereafter I had a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) problem. No worries, I thought, Im still covered by Warranty, just barely. Bring her in to my local Dealership, they take a look and say that they need to do a manual regeneration. Next day, I pick her up, warning lights are off, and everything is good to go.The following day, I make my trek to and from work. And wouldnt you know it, the DPF light is back on. I call up the Dealership and drop her back off at the next available appointment. The kind folks at the Dealership even put me up in a Courtesy Vehicle. The next day I pick my car up after they explained to me that they had to do a deeper cleaning. Hey, no worries, this is all covered by Warranty. I happily drive home thinking that this issue has been resolved. Weekend goes by, Monday is here and I make my way to and from work. I get home and lo and behold, the DPF light is back on. Now Im getting frustrated and its apparent that something else must be wrong. I call the Dealership and they tell me that the only other thing they can do is replace the DPF altogether. It doesnt seem right, but they are the experts and it is under Warranty, so I drop her off. I get my car back, drive back and forth to work a few times, problem solved...Or so I thought. 20,000 miles later, I get a new set of lights on my instrument panel. This time its a flashing Glow Plug light, the Check Engine light, and a text display of a flashing wrench followed by the words Inspect. Wow, thats A LOT of stuff. But hey, at least its not the DPF light. I take a glance at my Owners Manual (OM) to see what these things mean. According to the OM, both the flashing Glow Plug light and Check Engine light means Engine Control Malfunction, and the flashing wrench had to do with the Transmission. GREAT... I just put a new transmission in my other car, but thats neither here nor there. I call up the Dealership and schedule an appointment. They have it for a day and then the Technician gives me a call to inform me that the codes came up for the DPF. So what they needed to do was run a regen and it would cost 300 something dollars. At this point, Im out of Warranty. If money is coming out of my pocket, Im going to make my questions and concerns known. I proceed to ask the Technician that if its a DPF problem, why is it that the DPF light didnt come on AND how is this possible, VW JUST replaced the DPF. Needless to say, he did not have an answer for either of those questions and said that hed give me a call back in 10 minutes or so. About 10 min go by and I get a call from a Service Rep that is familiar with my car and the whole DPF dilemma. She proceeds to tell me that they are going to investigate the matter and contact the main VW Tech something or another. The following morning, she gives me a call to tell me that VW Tech said it is a Failed Temp Sensor and that it will cost $2,625.14 to get it fixed and that I should call VW Customer Care about this to see if they can help the situation.ROFLMAO, they must have lost their minds. You mean to tell me that had I not questioned their original findings, I would have dropped $300 only to have the same issue keep popping up. So I did a little research. Apparently, when the Glow Plug light and Check Engine light pops up, it does that because the DPF is at 75% loading or is saturated with 40 grams of soot because the regen process isnt kicking in. And you dont have to be a genius to come to the assumption/conclusion that if the regen process (which cleans the filter), isnt activating because the Temp Sensor is bad, that driving approximately 20,000 miles without a proper regeneration occurring could lead to a DPF with 75% loading.Meaning, the Temp Sensor was most likely faulty the 1st time I was having the recurring DPF problems, only money wasnt coming out of my pocket at the time so I didnt question it, therefore the Dealership Technicians didnt further investigate it and come to the realization that that was the underlying issue. Quite convenient for VW. So, I take the Service Reps advice and call the VW Customer Care number that same day (today). The representative on the line was polite, and after a lengthy discussion she informs me that there is nothing they can do to help because my vehicle is no longer under warranty. She ALSO tells me that this $2,625.14 operation is just a suggestion from VW Tech on a possible resolution to my issue. That the VW Tech is not saying that the Temp Sensor is bad, but that it COULD fix the problem.WHAT... Youre telling me that I cough up $2,625.14 for something that VW most likely missed the first go around AND it may or may not resolve the issue... Thats unacceptable. On multiple levels that is unacceptable. 1st, that I have to pay for something that the Dealership missed/misdiagnosed the first time around and 2nd that they expect me to pay this sum of money when it might solve the issue, but they are not sure. So, I asked the kind lady if there was another number that I could contact to voice my displeasure/concern and was told, Im sorry, this is it. The sad thing is that this was a great car until the DPF issue. It was so good that my wife was wanting a VW as her next car, despite the Emission Scandal. LoL, needless to say, while typing this up, she sent me the following text, Well no more VWs for us.

I have a 2011 Volkswagen Golf TDI, which I bought new. Its one of the Diesel cars that VW was found to have lied about. About a year ago I signed up for the VW TDI settlement program and planned to turn in my TDI this fall. Now, to add insult to injury, the High Pressure Fuel Pump has failed, which I am told is catastrophic and will now cost $4500 to repair. Unless I repair the car I will not be eligible to turn the car back to VW or be able to have them retrofit it so that I may continue driving it. The car has 124,000 miles on it and the extended warranty, which I was not informed of, expired at 120000 miles, just a few months ago. I was never informed that there was an issue with VW fuel pumps. Apparently, the High Pressure Fuel Pump was the subject of a federal investigation which I never heard about. Further, Volkswagen has paid for this repair on vehicles outside the extended warranty period. A quick web search reveals thousands of these HPFP failures. Please consider looking into this, as VW has set a precedent by paying for these repairs past warranty and now they will not cover mine, leaving me with this huge burden. Thank you.

I want to put it out there that Volkswagen is the WORST car ever made. I bought my 2010 Volkswagen CC in 2013. From the first year I bought it, I have had nothing but problems. In July of 2015, I was in the line at Taco Bell, and my car just died. It would die EVERY TIME I stopped the car (at a red light, parked, etc.). I had to have the Fuel Pump control module replaced. In December 2015, I had to have sensors replaced. In June 2016, I have had my engine replaced when I took it in for the Steering Column Defective message. In July 2016, my Steering Column Defective message popped up yet again, so I took it in again. They replaced the Steering Control Module. A week later, the Steering Column Lock Defective message popped up again. I took the car back in and they replaced the Immobilizer. Its been about a week since I picked it up and today, the check engine light is on YET AGAIN. Let me just say, I dont miss oil changes, I do not rag my car out. I am a responsible adult who drives 16 minutes to work everyday and 16 minutes home. I do not take it across the country. I take care of my car, but this has been nothing but problems. Problems that are not maintenance. There have been recalls on the engine and the parts for the steering column lock defective issues. My VIN wasnt on that list, but yet Ive had the problems. My warranty company has put $10,000 into this car in the last 2 months. I have spent $800+ in repairs out of my pocket. My car isnt even at 100,000 miles yet. This company has done NOTHING to help me with these issues. I have contacted corporate on MULTIPLE occasions about this and they wont do a thing. This car also has the airbag recall. I tried to trade it in (AT VOLKSWAGEN) and they said because it has the recall, they cant give me but $6,000 for it. $6,000 for my car that I paid $16,000 for and that has MULTIPLE BRAND NEW MAJOR ITEMS!!! So not only is this car unsafe because of how it was put together and the parts that keep going bad, if I get in a wreck, my airbag may have metal come through and stab me in the face and kill me! But they dont seem to care about that. Trust me, buy a Toyota or an American car. My fiance has a 2010 Toyota FJ Cruiser and has had to replace the battery once. Thats it. He bought it a year and a half before I bought mine. Volkswagen, Im meeting with my attorney next week to get this fixed. It isnt right and the fact my car is constantly unsafe and you do not care, proves that you have no conscience as a company!

I purchased a 2014 VW Jetta last year from the dealer. My first time in for service was recently. I was not impressed. I had some minor complaints about parts not working up to standard. Without getting long winded, the gist of the story is, everything seemed to be an issue and not under warranty for whatever reason, blah blah blah. I had owned a Mazda for years prior, and never had ANY issues with warranty work being done. Even the smallest complaint and they fixed it right up, no questions asked. I dont care how good they think their vehicles are. This resistance at the service counter will not deter me from a future purchase of a Volkswagen product.

My name is Joe ** and I purchased a 2017 Passat model S. I am already having issues that VW USA has refused to address. My iPhone automatically syncs and auto plays my music from my iPhone causing my battery to drain. On my particular vehicles model (S), I am being told there is no option to chose for the music from my iPhone to stop auto playing. The only Option built in to the software of my radio is to completely shut off the BT Audio tab. By doing so, I am unable to use the hands free Bluetooth function of my incoming and out going calls.I am also unable to use the Bluetooth audio feature to play navigation through my car speakers. I have been in close contact with Apple Engineering and have confirmed this is not an issue with my iPhone. I do not this issue my with BMW or my Honda CRV because there is a tab programmed in to the radios software to prevent my music from auto playing. The even more aggravating thing is that this auto play (stop) button is built in to the radio software on the VW Passat SE model (the more expensive model). Is this a ploy by VW to get me to spend an extra $5,000?I feel that VW is placing the lives of myself and my family to be at risk of death or serious injury by forcing me to actually place my hands on my phone while driving. Anyone else experiencing this issue? I have Googled dozens of VW forums with other VW owners with the same exact problem! Is VW deliberately placing their customers lives at risk just because we have chosen a base model? I find this to be disgusting and a total lack of customer service. Can you help escalate a resolution for this serious life safety problem? If not a simple software patch then how about replacing my radio? I am very concerned with the safety of my family and I.

Having a look at the reviews, I feel a little bit better as the company is just terrible in general, I thought it was just my luck and I was dealing with wrong service managers but seems like everyone is having the SAME! issue. What a mistake I made trusting Volkswagen, my car has been with them over a week coming to two weeks to diagnose an issue which they did after a week. Repairs were then done, I was then advised it could actually be something else and now another cost is adding, then they said I might even need a new Engine, my oh my.My other frustration is that the service manager who I called after being told they will call when they didnt had no clue of the situation and advised she was handed the case a day ago when the complaint was sent few days ago via web chat. I REGRET using them. When I purchased my VW GTI it rode very rough. I asked if the PDI had been performed when I was completing the purchase paperwork and I was told that it had. After a week of a very rough ride in the front I checked to see if the shipping pucks had been removed from the front struts. They had not (3 pucks in each strut) leading me to believe that no PDI had been performed. I emailed the dealer manager to notify them of this and see if I could have my struts checked for damage and got no reply. Now today I brought my GTI in to have the first service completed. After waiting 2 hours from my appt. time/drop off I asked if my car was ready. I was informed that there was a mistake with my paperwork and they hadnt started! 45 minutes later I was informed my service was completed. I lifted the hood in front of the service desk to inspect the service but before I could pull the dipstick I noticed there was oil on my right fender, on the engine cover and my front license plate was bent out from the bumper at a 90 degree angle (not how it had arrived 3 hrs. Earlier). They bent back the plate and told me I was good to go. I was beyond furious so I headed home. After I got home I checked the oil to find it overfilled by 1qt. Horrible service. Completely unacceptable.

First off, I love my car. From the first day of delivery though there have been problems. I do not have a lot of free time to spend going to the dealer so I gave the car a break-in period for some of the problems to settle and when my 10k mile service came up, I went into the dealer with a list of things I needed to be corrected. The most important is the grinding noise I get from the transmission. This is a problem that a large percentage of other owners are complaining about and VWoA is not handling. When the automatic transmission upshifts at about 25-40 mph, there is a grinding noise that occurs and the car pulls back or exhibits a minor loss of power. It is more noticeable in ECO mode, but happens in other modes. I am concerned that it is slowly damaging the transmission, will cause a breakdown, will be costly (after warranty) or will affect resale value. VWoA says this is normal, but no mechanic who has been presented with this will admit that it is normal. Next, my car has a trunk lid that hits me hard because it doesnt stay in the up position when open. I understand from VW blogs posts that this was corrected in cars made after a certain date, but apparently VWoA doesnt regard the safety of people who are being struck and hurt. I was told there was a fix for the problem, but the dealer did nothing.

VW has a horrible service and warranty program. It is one of the main reasons that this is the last VW I will own. A local dealer owns the three local dealers so it could be them but since we have no other options it is really neither here nor there. Dont buy a Volkswagen. I made the mistake. And Im here to prevent you from doing the same thing. Heres the deal. Volkswagen is a dishonest company. Dieselgate proved that. Some of the companys former executives are now in prison. Theyre literally convicted criminals. But the issue is beyond Dieselgate. Volkswagens tend to feature some really nice German engineering with some fatal flaws that make the cost of ownership rise astronomically. Volkswagen Group of America takes no responsibility for any of this and instead only responds when it faces a class action lawsuit. I purchased a Volkswagen CC in 2010. It was an amazing, graceful vehicle for the first four years. And then became -- and remains -- like a star athlete who got injured early in his career, turning into a shell of what he once was. My Volkswagen CC is the Penny Hardaway of cars.First there was the carbon buildup issue with the intake manifold. Long story short, the intake manifold has a design flaw. It results in the buildup of carbon deposits. This is a common issue with VW and Audi direct injection engines. VW will lie to you about why it happens, blaming the type of gas you use. Cleanup costs $500-$800 to clean. Two VW dealerships lied to me about aspects of the issue, telling me two different stories. VW Group of America refused to pay for the cleaning. Ultimately, I had to get it cleaned by a non-dealer specialist. And now my turbo is failing, putting the longevity of the engine at risk. VW Group of America refuses to cover the replacement of the turbo, though the dealer technician said hes seen a lot of turbos fail.Ive had a host of other problems with this car. Leaks, replacements of shocks and struts, multiple battery failures, and frequent flat tires. Theres a class action lawsuit alleging that the suspension of the car has a design flaw, causing premature tire wear. Thats happened with me. Ive had to buy a total of 12 additional new tires for this car. Ive had to replace the battery three times. Ive had to get the intake manifold cleaned. Now I have to get the turbo replaced.I have a spreadsheet detailing my maintenance and repair costs, toiling in roughly $10,000 over eight years. There are other repairs various dealers have recommended that I did not get done or chose cheaper alternatives. Altogether, they would have totaled more than $6000 more. Every dealer comes with their own set of $2000 recommended repairs.Anyway, theres a clear pattern: these problems Ive experienced are mainly based on VW design flaws. The fuel pump issue (for which theres a recall) causes the battery to drain. The suspension design flaw (for which theres a class action lawsuit) causes the tires to wear quickly. The direct injection engine causes carbon buildup on the intake manifold. And my guess is theres some fatal flaw with the turbos. VW is a company that only responds to these issues when facing legal action. Thats why their execs are in jail. Dont make the mistake I made. Dont buy a Volkswagen. They continue to deceive after Dieselgate and should be out of business. Unethical people.

I brought my 2013 VW Jetta back to the VW dealership for the buyback on March the 24th. They were supposed to have a check ready for me when I delivered the vehicle. They apparently lost it. We received an initial letter saying further instructions for banking info for the direct deposit would follow. Nothing came. After several calls I get told (like others) the claim has been escalated. After another phone call to their claims department I was asked if I had a firewall set up on my email account. I said yes so they asked if I had a personal email account. I was informed it will take 7 to 10 business days to get a email to our gmail account.I called them today the 11th of April for status. We get told they have tried calling to give us information. We never received any such calls. They are liars which is proven by the mess they are in right now. They have now given us a Canadian fax number to send information to. I dont understand that. We now get told it will take another 7 to 10 business days to receive the funds which I highly doubt. It seems Volkswagen is doing everything they can to stall. We have several VWs in our company and after this I will not deal with them again. Completely incompetent company. They have my car and I have no money.

I bought my used 2009 Tiguan with 30,000 miles on it. At 46,000 miles the engine light came on. At the same time, my gas cap, stopped clicking when I tightened it. The local VW dealer says it is a water pump problem which they quoted as an $1100 repair. I replaced the gas cap, the engine light comes on and goes off for weeks at a time. Do I believe the dealership mechanics or go elsewhere?

Car door sustained damage when water was trapped in the door frame and froze. VW would repair the damage if car was 4 years old or newer as it would be within warranty parameters. They are aware that the structure was at fault as they have fixed cars within the parameters. Our complaint is that they never contacted us to inform us that this could be a problem or offered a way to fix the structure before the ice peeled back the door skin. Now they offer no compensation as it is outside the warranty parameters. How does a structure of design have a warranty?

I own a 2014 VW Golf TDI that I purchased brand new. Since Ive owned the vehicle I have had all the services done on time and at a VW dealership. The car currently has 40558 miles on it. I had an O2 sensor go bad on me roughly 100 miles ago. I am by no means an expert mechanic but I have been working on cars for a little over 20 years and I couldnt believe how quickly the sensor went out. Even the people at the dealership were completely shocked by how quickly it went out. When I call VW of America they basically told me yeah thats horrible but its your problem. I really thought VW was a better company than that and manufactured better products than that.

Took my 2016 Golf R (with only 56,000 kms on it) in for servicing as it simply shut down. VW Service Tech told me it needed a new engine control module (ECM), turbocharger and thermostat housing - something they rarely see. Its one owner car, serviced exclusively at VW dealer, low kms, and babied. Final bill was $7,000 on a car that cost $46,000 new. I asked VW Canada to look into it and share (50/50) the cost of the repairs. While it was out of warranty, they offered me $1,500 credit on future VW sales and service - which is of little use to me as I sold the car to the VW dealer, and dont plan to ever buy a VW again. Guess theyre simply not interested in my future business (VW, Audi, Porsche) or my word of mouth. Unfortunate as Ive purchased 10+ Audis in the past and this was my first foray into VWs performance cars. Wiser for the experience and disappointed.

A recent monthly payment was not pulled from her bank accurately and instead of contacting me, the lessor, it became delinquent and they reported to the credit agencies. After several dispute letters explaining the issue, they just deny...deny...with no explanation!! I call VW customer service who explains that the Credit department does not have a phone #, so you cant even talk to the person that handles the issue. Thank you VW for ruining my excellent 15 year credit history! I will be sure to never do business with this organization again and make it my personal mission to tell others to do the same.

Nothing but problems with the Tiguan. This car is a mechanical nightmare. 68,000 miles and the car is in need of such major repairs that far exceed the quickly plummeting value of $7000. Volkswagen of North America has offered NO recourse for this shameful product, and the experience has definitely hurt my overall finances in a way that has been beyond detrimental to this consumer and small business owner. Volkswagen should be avoided at all costs, unless you are one of these folks getting a new car every two years. I was looking for a car for 15-20 years, but I guess they dont build those anymore? Here is a list of what is wrong: All 4 coils replaced TWICE with VW OEM coils from dealership, still misfiring/pulling codes, Extensive carbon buildup in all the cylinders, 1st cylinder lost compression, Clockspring mechanism replaced under service warranty extension, EPC malfunctioning, Steering Control malfunctioning, Parking Brake malfunctioning, System running lean without a fix offered from manufacturer, Transmission timing not correct, told by Jim Ellis VW that it would require NEW TRANSMISSION at 62,000 miles (right outside of warranty) at a cost of $6000, Fuel pump replaced TWICE, Almost every light on the dash has lit up at some point.I purchased this car with 30,000 miles in April of 2017. I put $3000 down. There is NO reason a car should have this many issues in such a short window of time, for a young car, and the manufacture REFUSES to stand by their product or offer any reasonable assistance or buyback, as they did with my 2013 Jetta TDI Sportwagen. To compare, I drove my last vehicle for almost 20 years, with no devastatingly major repairs outside of normal maintenance. This used to be the norm for most manufacturers. The dealerships I have been to for service (Jim Ellis VW of Kennesaw, and Nalley VW of Alpharetta) have acted highly shady and outright dishonest multiple times in my attempts to rectify the problems, leading me to believe this a typical symptom of a broken VW culture within the separate organizations. BR Automotive Repair in Alpharetta is an amazingly honest and intelligent repair shop, and got the car drivable enough to trade it in, and advised me to RUN to trade it ASAP. I hate to even put this nightmare on another unwitting consumer, but I have to try to reduce my already considerable losses on this JUNK CAR. BUYER BEWARE!!!

I LOVED my car. I loved VW. My purchase experience and countless visits for maintenance through the years were nothing but superb. I bragged about VW to my friends. I planned to buy another VW when my current Jetta needed replaced. However.... two weeks ago I noticed the headliner on the roof of my car was pulling away from the center light and in the back. This was a part of the car that should not fail. I only have 63,000 miles on the car. I have kept it parked in garages both at home and work. The climate is only humid in Georgia in the summer, this isnt Florida or Hawaii. There is no reason this piece should fail. I contacted VW and they outright REFUSED to give me anything towards this repair. They claim my car is too old. SEVEN years is TOO OLD?!? So they expect their customers to replace their cars every 5 years or something? Thats absurd. Ive taken good care of my car this entire time. I planned on it lasting another 3 years and they wont cover a $600 repair? Nope. They would rather lose the 25K purchase they would have gotten from me for my next car. Good riddance VW.

I purchased my brand new VW TDI in May of 2015. The TDI scandal was announced only a few months after my purchase. The following Nov I received a letter about the Goodwill package Volkswagen was offering as long as you register your vehicle... Information they clearly had!!! I immediately went to the site to register my VIN. Their site continued to freeze after the input of the VIN #. I continued to try several times a month with no luck. In Jan 2016 I emailed VW with my concerns AND my vehicle information. It took over a month for them to get back to me and inform me that there was a high volume on their site and to keep trying or try another browser. REALLY? I kept trying every month several times different computers, iPads and phones... no luck. I finally got through on June 30, 2016. The response I got was Congratulations! Your vehicle qualifies for the Goodwill Package. Unfortunately, this registration is closed. I called VW customer care, and after being on hold for over 30 minutes, the agent informed me that there was nothing he or VW could do because I had ample time to register my vehicle. I was told I should have called their customer care department at an earlier date (they are only open from 9am to 5pm Monday-Friday) and they could have walked me through registering my vehicle. I work during those hours and dont have time to sit on hold for 30 minutes!! I know how to use a computer!! They are still offering the package, just not on MY vehicle!!!I was not allowed to speak to a supervisor and was told that VW was very firm on not extending the program past the cut-off date. I want to know how many others had this problem? Was this just a ploy to lure us into not bad mouthing a company who purposely defrauded their customers? Are they still pulling scams on us? Should I file a suit for this $1000 package?

UNFAIR! I was an outstanding VW client and yet, VW was UNFAIR and DISCRIMINATORY to me! I leased a VW Jetta three years ago. I made all of my payments and have paid my vehicle down to its residual. I called VW credit and got a payoff and the payoff is my residual plus a $350 purchase option charge as my contract states. Upon wanting to trade my car in the facility, I called VW to verify the written payoff amount and to my great surprise, the payoff was $1,300 higher, therefore, reducing MY trade-in value by $1,300! I contracted for 45,000 miles but drove the car only 28,000 miles. Reminder... I paid for those miles with a lower residual and higher payments! My daughter bought a similar Jetta about the same time and sold it to the same dealership I was attempting to. VW credit honored her written payoff that was her residual value plus remaining payments not yet due, less unearned finance charges plus purchase option. No GREEDY increase! I am only asking VW credit to allow me to trade my lease in for what I have paid it down to. I feel I earned at least that by being an outstanding customer and making every payment perfectly on time. But VW HAS DISCRIMINATED AGAINST ME and not treated me fair like they did in my daughters case. Did VW treat her fair because she is an attorney? I plan on never doing business with VW in the future! Plus, Im sure if theyre doing this to me, theyve done it to others. So I am seriously considering starting a class action suit!

By far the worst dealer experience ever. Bought a 2015 Golf TDI last year. I purchased an alarm system and finally got tired of the remote not working so I had the dealer take the alarm out. I told the service manager that I wanted the alarm parts to take with me. I paid for them. She said no. After a quick talk with the latest of many upper management replacements who apparently quit or get canned weekly, they made her run across the street and retrieve the alarm. She returned with the main component but with no wires/plugs. Whatever. She then told me... Volkswagens dont work with alarms. This comment came straight from the service manager. I then spoke to the salesman who sold me the car and he told me, after a long conversation about how much he disliked working for VW, that I should of never bought a diesel as Vw, and this particular dealership, had no mechanics that even knew how to work on diesels. This dealership also sells Mazdas. My last 4 vehicles have been Mazda 3s. Over 500,000 miles on them with only one strut needing replacement. The salesperson told me that I should of purchased another mazda 3 as they are better cars and the mileage differences between the 2 brands are very close now.AVOID VW. I AM MAKING TRIPLE PAYMENTS ON THE GOLF TO HOPEFULLY SELL IT without too much of a loss AFTER 1 YEAR. (SAD) Volkswagen SHAME ON YOU FOR BEING LIARS, UNETHICAL, STUPID, AND BELIEVE ME; THEIR PROBLEMS START CLEAR AT THE TOP. I gave them so many chances to make things right. They completely abandon customers after the sale. Bad cars, bad company.

The engine in the 2013 VW GTI we leased burned up at 25,000 miles. Nine days before this happened, the dealership where we leased it from refused to honor the service agreement and misled us as to whether or not it was due for service. As a result at the BBB arbitration between us and the manufacturer, we were held responsible for 1/2 of the cost of replacing the engine on a 2013 vehicle with only 25,000 miles on it. We have had to sue the dealership for the balance we had to pay due to the breach of the service contract. As a result, we have been paying $260/mo five months, the court date is not for another 3 months and we STILL dont have the car back. VW sucks, the warranty sucks, and the service contract sucks. I have been an on/off VW owner for almost 15 years. I recently became one again just a few months ago and now I know why I was on/off, rather than always on! After this current experience, I cannot recommend Volkswagen products any longer and no matter what changes they make, I will never return. My recent vehicle was purchased brand new and the quality of workmanship on it is so poor that I would not let my worst enemy get one. Mine came with a defective dashboard straight out of the factory! The dash had a golf ball sized imperfection and a few hollow spots near the passenger airbag. The front window trims also had gashes in them and were also colored differently. One of my interior lights has a bug and some floating debris inside of the housing. There is a s black paint mark on one side of my trunk door (my vehicle is red). I dont care how much the vehicle retails for, this workmanship is pure junk and 100% unacceptable. This vehicle and all of VW is a total embarrassment to the entire car world. I come from a family of people that buy and purchase VWs. So naturally I bought one. However, I have had issues with my 2009 VW GTI (purchased brand new) since the start. When I first purchased my VW, there was a fuel issue, and they replaced it. Then there was a filter that stunk like mold, they replaced it. Then there was a recall on part of my transmission, they replaced it. My car started hesitating on the freeway when I accelerated, right after the recall replacement. I should have known by this time that the car needed to be traded, but I was stupid. I thought its a VW, they are great cars and so much fun to drive! Everything at this point got even worse. My battery died, or so I thought. I took it to VW and they told me that I needed a new computer. Somehow, insurance covered this and I ONLY had to pay my $500 deductible. I informed them that my car kept hesitating on the freeway. They said to drive it a certain amount of miles and it should reset. I did, and it didnt reset. After a few weeks, I took it back to the dealership. They said I need a new valve that was several hundred dollars. I called VW of America and they offered to pay for half, since it was a defect. Several weeks went by and the car started doing the same thing again. I took it back to the dealership they said its a valve that needs to be replaced. They covered the cost of the valve because it was part of the original issue. I picked it up. The next day, the engine light went off again, and the car was still hesitating. After several days, I called the dealership. They told me it was bad gas and to refuel it and drive around. I did this. After several days, I again took the car back to the dealership. This time, they said it was another valve, and they replaced it. They also told me that if the engine code came on again that they would have to replace the turbo. So now they are telling me that I need a new turbo and have to pay $2200.00. Everything else they were willing to cover because it was part of the covered recall issue, but now that its $2200.00 I have to pay for it. I called VW of America to see if they could help. The woman said that they arent going to pay for it and that its not their responsibility. I said, Thats funny because you knew it was your responsibility up until it was $2200.00. She told me that is her final decision, there was no one above her and thats it. I now have a car that needs new turbo... I am beyond upset and will never buy or drive a VW again! I am trying to sell my piece of crap because I cant even look at it with getting pissed off. The woman by the way did offer me a $750 credit towards a new VW. I have to admit I was speechless. She was willing to give me $750 towards a new car, but not towards my problem that I called about???? Thats ridiculous.

I am an owner of two VW Rabbits on which I invested substantial money to adapt them with hand controls. I do love VW cars and I was planning to buy another one but shortly. After 60,000 miles the 2007 started jerking and clunking down to the next lowest gear. It shudders and jolts the whole car especially from 3 to 2 and/or 2 to 1. I took the car to Volkswagen Kearny Mesa (8040 Balboa Ave San Diego, CA (858) 300-8160) and they confirmed my suspicion: I am facing the dreadful VALVE BODY issue! After talking to previous VW service managers, copious reading in the vortex forums and research in NHTSA I realized this is a well-known issue by VW that affects AWTF60SN (09G) transmissions. Unfortunately the 2009 Rabbit just recently exhibited the same symptoms which now leaves me with two soon to be undrivable cars. One is the backup of the other so I dont have to rent hand controlled cars when I service one.I would like to give VW the opportunity to do the right thing and fix my two vehicles ASAP and at VW cost. I am sure that the reviews I found in Consumer Affairs are not an accurate representation of how VW treats its customers. Let me use this opportunity to also bring to your attention that your website shows no recalls for any of my vehicles while clearly there is one and that I was never informed despite VW having my information. I will wait week to hear from VW and I am confident of a happy resolution.

2015 VW Golf - After receiving the safely recall in the mail, I spoke (after many times trying) with service at the dealer I bought the car from. I have not even reached 10,000, my first oil change. They told me to wait until then, and I was fine. Two days ago, a light came on saying that my gas cap wasnt on.....okay. That message went off, but today my engine light is on. I bought this car in September of this year, brand new, and already this is happening. Things do happen, but when I called with the concern that I might die in a car fire (leak could cause this according to the recall) they couldnt get me in until next Monday. Annoyed, I called back and suggested I drop off my car and take a loaner. Nope.... Customer service is terrible so far, at least at my dealership. On top of this, a car wash knocked off the drivers side back of my side view mirror, and a plastic runner on the seat already broke off. Im completely disappointed, despite the quick handling and nice interior. I just needed to vent.

VWs preferred auto body shop Mitek then saw it and drafted a quote which eventually VW Canada denied saying it was surface rust even though it clearly started beneath and was solidly through. I disagreed and while I was largely ignored by VW Canada my persistence eventually ended up getting me a written response but no real explanation, process or coverage and I had to take care of the $6000 repair myself. I drive a 2012 VW Golf R and I am a long term VW fan who feels very slighted. I am experienced with most forms of legal action largely due to my employment and I seriously considered legal action as I could easily take this to small claims court, but in the end I didnt feel it was worth the bother or the issues VW Canada would create. Anyway the same VW Touareg now has rust coming from beneath again on the right rear door in the same place as it occurred in the left rear door. Im guessing VW Canada will pull the same nonsense and fail to honor the warranty. I have filed a BBB complaint to which VW Canada has denied all liability. I responded with this.I do not accept the premise of this response on the grounds that: a) VW Canada cannot upon my many requests provide any supporting documentation or scientific evidence as to how this is as they call it corrosion perforation resulting from outside influences, failure to promptly repair paint damage, damaged undercoating, or surface corrosion; b) A third body panel (passenger rear door) is currently showing signs of rust from beneath the surface, but it takes many months to even get a check up to see if it is covered due to a backlog at VW. I believe that this is a deliberate attempt to present the damage as failure to promptly repair and circumnavigate VW Canada’s responsibility to honor their warranty.c) VW Canada’s response to the BBB complaint does not make effort to address the rear driver’s side door that was replaced due to rust from beneath and provided no explanation as to how it rusted nor any coverage; d) The license plate was not in contact with the tailgate until the day before inspection when I removed the plate and cover to better see the damage. I did not put the cover back on to take in into the dealership because it broke upon removal. VW Canada has made no effort to provide any evidence that this was a long-term situation. In summary I believe based on online posting investigations, that VW Canada is following a mandate issued by management to cut costs by lowering the amount of rust corrosion claims paid out.

My residual value at the end of lease was $21,218.60. I extended my lease six more months... and made 6 more automatic payments of $476. This reduced my residual value to $18,374.28 + tax. After I requested a payoff amount and mail the payment check... VW posted a lease rebate charge of $467.12 to my account. Now they have issued a letter reading that there is a short amount that needs to be paid to satisfy the contract.

Customer Care at Volkswagen is an oxymoron. We bought 2 new Jettas TDIs in 2011. We bought a new Passat in 2012. I called customer care today 3/20/2015 about a problem. They never looked up our record of being an excellent customer, never bothered to look up our vin numbers to realize how much money we spent buying their cars, never asked our names. ** (the rep at customer care) did however say, apologize for that. So as we go out this weekend to look at cars to purchase do you think we will drop by a VW dealer?

We purchased a new Volkswagen CC R-line in 2012. We followed the recommended service for it, which said 10,000 miles, or once a year. Each year they have rotated the tires and recommended alignment, at extra cost, which we did. Several weeks ago we took the car in for its third service with just over 30,000 miles, and they told us we needed new tires due to excessive cupping of the tires. We never expected to have to replace tires at 30,000 miles and asked the service manager, and technician why this occurred. They said it was obviously out of alignment and thats why it happened. Now, after reading numerous complaints about this issue online about this very same car and people being quoted as being told by some VW service people that the car actually needs alignment every 3,000 miles and more frequent tire rotation, maybe every 3,000 to 5,00 miles, we are wondering why VW is not getting this message out to consumers of this product. It could be a safety issue, when they are not telling us that the cupping occurs, and the tires are worn, especially as you are riding on a low profile tire to begin with. We replaced the tires with Continentals after they presented us with 3 tire options. They specifically told us All 3 choices are good tires. One week after the tire replacements, we were riding down a street near home and the tire light came on for the front passenger side tire, and the pressure began steadily going down. Luckily we were very close to home, and after pulling in the driveway, we could hear the air escaping the tire, flattening it completely within an hour. So we are calling VW tomorrow. No damage occurred to this tire, its brand new, and we wonder whats going on.It cost us over $1000 for these new tires. The car only had 30,000 miles on it!!! After looking at all the brand new tires, we are noticing they have all started turning a dark gray color in large areas of the rubber, in the week that we have had them. We plan on getting the car back to Volkswagen as soon as possible, but were unable to put the spare on, since apparently they forgot to replace the tools in our trunk which are necessary to change the tire to the spare, when they recently replaced the tires. We know no damage occurred to this car. Now we are reading about problems with Continental tires online as well. So why did they recommend the continental tires to us? So WV has not been forthcoming with info on this car to us or many other consumers, relating to cupped tire issues which may be avoided with a different maintenance protocol for the original tires (more frequent rotations, and alignment twice a year??) and then they recommend replacing them with perhaps a suspect tire? AND, after recommending replacing, they didnt tell us that the issue could have been avoided, because they want to stick to the illusion they have created to customers that these cars are good to go, once a year service, and you are done!! They totally acted like we were the only customer who had had this problem. Well, consumer sites on the internet tell the story, and its not a new one. VW needs to step up and start telling people the defect that exists with the RR C-line, and that it affects EVERYONE!

We leased a 2015 Tiguan R for three years and drove it across the US three times, with no issues. Once the lease ended, we purchased the car from Camelback VW in Scottsdale, AZ. Because we purchased it from them, they had to do a pre owned certified test, which was last July. Since then, we have had to back to them over 18 times because it keeps dying on us. For some reason they can’t figure it out. They have now fired us as a customer because we are a nuisance. Without fixing our car mind you! We love the car but wish someone would help us.

I called for an itemization report because although I was making payments well above what I owed, it was not reflected in my account. It took three calls to get an itemization report. When I finally got the report, which reflected that my loan had already been paid, but an account balance was being shown as owed. I asked to speak to someone else, which was a manager with an IQ well below 30 and who was obviously really poorly educated. She kept asking me where I was getting my numbers, and I kept telling her from the information you just sent me. She kept telling me that her information was accurate and I owed about a grand, when really they owed me. I told her to add what she gave me, and she told me she did not have time to add 33 payments. I asked to speak to someone else who was going to be proactive and helpful. She told me there was no one else. I have to file a complaint with the BBB and call in a favor from a lawyer to get this issue resolved. These people are thieves and are genuinely cavalier to the fact that they do not know basic math.

After 6 years of being a loyal customer to Volkswagen, this is the thanks I get. I have a lease that is up Feb. 2016. November 2015 I was called into my dealer to trade out my car for a new lease. I explained I had fallen back on some payments, because I was out of work for a few months due to medical issues. I was making slow payments but doing my best. I had returned to work full-time and was ready to get the deal done with the new lease. They said Volkswagen, would not approve another lease because of slow payments. I was on-time every month for 51/2 years, and as you know real life happens sometimes. In any event the dealer said he was able to work out a deal and I should come in and sign papers. I arrived to the dealership at our scheduled time... waited 2 1/2 hrs. only to be told that there was an error. It was not approved and in fact Volkswagen credit wanted the dealer to confiscate my vehicle right there. They allowed me to leave yeah right gimmicks. I stepped outside and immediately called VW Credit to rectify the situation. They told me to make two payments and I would be up to date, or a least put back in the 30 mark. I agreed, I would go to Moneygram in the morning and get things squared away. Needless to say a few hours later my car was repossessed, from a friends private enclosed garage already suing which means I was followed to location lawsuit in effect. I only owed them $1,000. I had to pay $3200 to get my car back. Explain. Devils. My credit is now ruined, the vehicle is still due back in Feb. and I am assed out!! This is the second time they have screwed me over. I have bought them so much business I got 6 other family members to get a Volkswagen. So glad all leases are coming to an end. We will never support Volkswagen again. I will shout from the Mountain top!! Hate them all. Trust me lease or buy elsewhere!! Please believe me I have so many horror stories dealing with them!!

I have had nothing but poor customer service experience with VW USA Custome
I have had nothing but poor customer service experience with VW USA Customer Care. When I called the dealership where I purchased the car in panic after my car brakes failed on the freeway - the salesman did not invite me - ever - to check my car, which is an accident waiting to happened. It is nothing short of a miracle my kids are still alive due to my car stalling at a major and busy street in Los Angeles at least on two different occasions.I have contacted VW Customer Care before the car was stalling - when the driver door was about to fall off - mind you I am 411 tall and weigh 100 lbs. I later contacted VW USA Customer Care again when I started having brake failures and they did nothing whatsoever except waiting for them to get back to me (in a week or so) and then saying that they cant do anything. So when my car started having stalling episodes (2 of them on major streets in Los Angeles), I did not bother contacting VW USA Customer Care but went to the dealership that said they do not see a problem and that they run the car computer system something of that sort and everything looks good.I also like to say that every time I went to the dealership, I had to make sure the right description of what has happened is put down on the work order and not what might look better on paper. Not having a loaner car when I pay almost $400 a month for my car that keeps breaking down is a terrible business practice. The Sun Visor hitting my eye could put me out of work. Fire coming out of the charger while I was driving traumatize both - my very young children and I - Please note that since then, none of the car chargers has been working so I have to rely on a portable charger I have purchased. I truly appreciate your willingness to help but I have lost faith that anything will be resolved because if VW Customer Care did not care that my childrens life and my life are in danger driving a Volkswagen, then why would they care now that my lease is almost ending? True. VW still does not care.

Unfortunately, in only about a month after a complete failure and replaceme
Unfortunately, in only about a month after a complete failure and replacement of the Turbocharger unit, an even more dramatic failure occurred. After an erratic idle, the vehicle EPC light came on, followed by a loud metallic noise coming from the engine. We immediately stopped the vehicle and arranged towing. According to the authorized Volkswagen service technician, the timing chain tensioner has completely failed and has caused a damage to the cylinder head. Total cost to replace cylinder head, timing chain, tensioner, parts, labor = more than $5,500.00.It is worth noting that we have been more than diligent in making sure that the vehicle has always been serviced according to the maintenance schedule. When we bought the vehicle new, we had purchased the extended 7-year premium warranty extension from Fidelity (which just expired earlier this year). After spending close to $2,000 out-of-pocket to repair the turbo unit, we are now faced with another $5,500+ bill. A quick search on the internet reveals that there are numerous early failures of the timing chain tensioner on the 2.0T engine, including lawsuits and a pending class-action investigation. It is almost not an overstatement to say that we have experienced nothing but grief with this vehicle. Everything from complete engine failure, turbocharger failure, all-wheel drive differential failure, fuel pump failure, air intake failure, throttle body failure, sunshade failure to a check engine light coming on every 6 months like clockwork, requiring random wild goose chase fixes such as clean up the air intake gum...VW has definitely a huge amount of responsibility here. It is obvious that all these failures are way above the average normal expectations that a car owner should have from a 2009 vehicle that has been serviced according to the schedule. Faulty parts, skipped due-diligence in design and test or whatever other reason, it is clear that VW has ONCE AGAIN proven to U.S. consumers that their products are of inferior quality and therefore their advertising is deceiving and misleading and their products overpriced. The case of the timing chain tensioner is a great example of how severe a failure can be. This goes beyond the scope of unnecessary burden or inconvenience. This a dangerous failure as when it happens it can result in complete immobilization of the vehicle causing a great threat to the safety of the driver, passengers and other vehicles on the road.

Almost immediately the car started breaking down. We have almost completely rebuilt the car by replacing the battery several times, the computer system, fuel injection system, transmission and now tire sensors. The car was not only prone to breaking down but was extremely dangerous as it would turn off or stall on the freeway at high speeds. Despite numerous attempts to get assistance from both the dealer and corporate I was turned away. I will never buy another VW product again or purchase from Michaels. I had my VW Jetta for three years, the problem began when I wanted to purchase the vehicle I leased. It took 3 months of calling to get the payoff in writing. I would call VW Credit and sit on hold for at least 30 minutes, before someone would answer. If I could stay on hold that long, I work full-time, and my Mother had heart surgery, so time was not something I had a lot of. If and or when someone would answer, one of two things would happen. They would disconnect me or tell me they could not help me. Call the dealership. I call the dealership and they tell me to call VW Credit. Finally, I got the payoff, then the check engine light comes on. Guess what happened when I took it to the dealership, the same all over again. Ive been there three times with nothing in writing as to whats wrong with it. Plus an open recall that was not even addressed. I am saddened by the complete disconnect from VW. I have an appointment at a local Ford dealership, that has a former VW technician on staff to diagnose the problem. I really thought VW was a quality product, I never had this problem with a Ford.

We have been a customer for 20 years. We purchased a VW Jetta in 2015. We have not had too many issues with the car. However, when coming back from vacation with 2 children in the car and we had a blowout at 9 pm on 64 E in Virginia. I pulled over to the side of the road, I then removed everything from the trunk to get to the spare tire. After pulling out the jack, and tire out of the car, I noticed there is no lug wrench. We called VW roadside assistance which dispatched a tow truck that I arrived 45 minutes later. We had the vehicle towed to our home which cost me $211.00. I went to VW the next morning to explain what happened and their sales manager said: Well you bought the car 4 years ago. It not our problem.I called customer service to file a complaint and received a callback and stated they are not going to do anything because the car was four years old. The sales manager was uncaring and did not even seem to care. I asked to speak to the GM and he stated he wont be in for 30 - 60 minutes. I waited to speak to the GM but never got to speak with him but was told they were not going to assist us with the tow cost. They would of if I had towed the car to their dealership. I said I had 4 people in the car (2 children) as well as a lot of luggage. After 20 years of faithful service with the company they did not care about their customers, they are only out for the money. I just received a huge turn-in bill from VW. This was the fourth (and last!) VW I have leased. I asked them to reverse the $350 return fee (pure robbery) and they would only reverse it if I leased a fifth one. The Tiguan was poorly made. The ceiling lining was slightly loose on one side because of a leaky sunroof. The dealer said to take a picture and fight the charge. I called VW Credit and the person refused to reverse the charge and said I should have taken it to the dealership. I was charged $258 for that. I told her that I had leased 4 Volkswagens and that didnt make one iota of difference to her. For what is a tiny degree of money to VW, they have lost a customer. On March 16, 2012, my daughter purchased a 2009 VW Tigua from Herman Cook, VW, Inc., 1435 Encinitas Blvd., Encinitas, CA 92024. Since then, the vehicle has had numerous problems, and has cost her thousands of dollars in repairs at VW dealerships in Southern California. She has followed due diligence in having the car serviced, but has continued to have costly repairs. Listed below are the issues.June 27, 2012, only three months after purchasing vehicle, paid $290.95 at Volkswagen Santa Monica (Invoice **) for: front headlamp, engine oil service, balance 4 wheels, brake fluid replace and bleed. August 29, 2012, paid $237.30 at Volkswagen Santa Monica (Invoice **) for: removed and replaced driver side HID light bulb. June 7, 2013 paid $50 (deductible) at McKenna Volkswagen for: right headlight (Invoice **). Invoice states EST: 1,069 31AUG15 13:34 SA: 1692). I believe there are major issues with design of engine that caused sludge to build up in engine at low mileage, and also poor AC design that caused compressor to come apart and cause tiny metal particles to infect the entire AC system that resulted in over $1,600 of AC repair.June 3, 2016, paid $2,465.90 at McKenna Volkswagen (Invoice **) for replaced left outside brake light, replace leaking water pump and coolant, perform complete coolant system flush exchange, replaced leaking valve cover, vacuum pump gasket, upper timing cover and CAM sensor seal, replaced front brake pads, replaced 2 tires and balance new tires, front end align, perform oil change and filter.Today, August 13, 2016, as I was preparing this communication, my daughter texted me to say that the cars message system is now telling her that now something is wrong with the parking brake, and that another light needs to be fixed. This never ends, and the car is a lemon that has numerous faulty issues. Therefore, in four years of purchasing this used previously owned vehicle from a Volkswagen dealer, the lemon car has cost an additional $6,744.03. My daughter has been very diligent about taking the car in for routine service, but the additional costs are totally unacceptable and she, as a part-time working single mother with a 3-year old child, cannot continue to afford what I consider design flaw costs for the 2009 Volkswagen Tigua.

I own a Tiguan. Its my 5th VW. This time I bought the trailer hitch addition to the MSRP for $550 new to pull a trailer. I knew I would be pulling a small trailer & ATV under 1500 lbs very infrequently. This package came with the 7 pin wiring harness so one would expect it to actual work trailer lights. I go to hook up the trailer, see the wiring harness but cant figure out how to hook it up. They had me bring it in and tried to hook it up. I then found out I had to spend an additional $400 to reprogram the entire vehicle, add a control module, & mounting hardware. I worked for VW for years & loved the product. I have referred many friends and family to VW. That has now changed. I gave them a chance to help out with the extra cost and they flat out denied to help even in a small amount. This put a very sour taste in my mouth and I will never refer another person to them. Emich is a great dealership but go to their Chevy store not VW. Volkswagen is a greedy, cheating, company that nickel and dimes their clients for any little thing they can. Never again will buy their product & will do everything to advise others against it as well. I dont think it is crazy to expect a 7 pin wiring harness to actually work the one purpose it is designed to work.

My car has been leaking for two years. Every time I bring it in, I have to find another ride to work and back to the dealership.I am concerned about health problems if there is mold growing under the seats. I am also concerned that the leaking water may be causing rusting in spots that I cant see. My door panel has the vinyl peeling off in one spot and they are fixing it tomorrow.I really hate my Volkswagen EOS, that I paid $38,000 for 3 years ago. It has been nothing but trouble and stress. I bought this car thinking it would be a nice vehicle that would last me for many years to come. It is not made of good quality like I would expect from a company such as Volkswagen.

Beware of leasing through VW Credit! I have leased for 20+ years and I have never gone through the issues Im going through with VW Credit after turning in my 2009 Jetta 3,000 miles under mileage! They will rake you for every little ding, scratch, burn, tires, normal wear and tear, anything they can get from you. I will never lease from them again! I am starting a website for other people Ive had contact with to share similar stories. So when the site is complete, I will make sure everyone knows how they do business.Ive never had to pay for tires (they were exactly where they should have been when turning it in). You can turn in a Honda, Toyota, Lexus, etc. with bald tires and they wont bother you! It’s normal wear and tear after 36 months. Ive only ever had to pay for over mileage! VW Credit is ridiculous and I, nor my friends, family, neighbors or co-workers will ever do business with them again!

Ive owned 5-6 new VW TDI Golf/Jettas; and thoroughly enjoyed them. The most recent purchase was a 2015 Golf TDI. The dealership has been more than helpful and accommodating through the approved update process and 2 stages have been completed. The final stage of the repairs was scheduled days ago; and when I dropped off the vehicle service needed a claim number. Please excuse my filing system, but I did not have the claim number. The dealership, which I love, and has always treated me like a king, could not do the repairs, or, provide me with the claim number. In conversation I learned VW does not trust their dealers, (yes, the people that support their employment). I talked with VW corporate for the TDI issue (VW Lying), and am getting nowhere. I Seriously hate to admit it, but I guess Ill become a Ford person. What an unbelievable, and very sad story. BUT... IT IS THE TRUTH.

First off let me start by saying that I do love my 2013 Turbo Diesel Beetle
First off let me start by saying that I do love my 2013 Turbo Diesel Beetle Convertible, its the prettiest car on the road...and everyone asks me how I like it...I love it, love to drive it...love to look at it...and I take really good care of it. There are two design flaws, one is the keyless start...the other is the unfortunate placement of the hard wired iPhone charger INSIDE the glove compartment, so that if you need to charge your phone while driving you have to keep the glove compartment open. One wonders about German engineering. That said, the car gets rock star mileage and its fast. But I had to have the 10,000 mile service in Brooklyn NY because I was visiting family and could not do it in Maine. So the VW dealership in Bay Ridge Brooklyn houses a bundle of other car companies. ITs old, cramped, dirty, crowded and unpleasant. I brought in my almost brand spanking new car. I said, Im here for a 10,000 mile service, please take good care of my car. A loaner was provided and off I went. Later that day I came back to get my car. I asked for only one thing, to have the rear headrests taken off while they were servicing the car. When I got the car there were the headrests. I was told the headrests dont come off...I thought, well Ive had a few cars, Im no expert but every headrest Ive seen comes off. The service person told me, I was completely wrong that the service people pulled and pulled and they would not come out. I took out the manual, respectfully trying to show him that I not only know they come out but because there is limited rear visibility with the car, they suggest that they should come out when not needed. He said I was wrong again, I tried to show him in the manual how clearly defined the instructions for removal and how simple it was. He finally acquiesced and took the car back into the service area. Now let me ask the obvious question, IF the service guys didnt know that they could remove headrests do you think I would feel confident that my tires were correctly rotated or my oil was property changed? I think not. The car came back to me, headrests out, but soiled where the work was done. Gladly my service guy cleaned the grease...and I got into my car to leave and looked up and there on the right side of my windshield was a giant crack. Seriously. I couldnt even make this up. Now the service manager comes out. He tells me that it was a stone, how does he know this, because of the way the crack looks. Now this is coming from a person who manages people who dont know about headrests...and hes abrupt, no apologies...just aggressive...I say, but I brought in a car with no crack at 9:30 this morning and its 4:30 and theres a crack. Now can a car be serviced and not one person notices this crack...and you say it was a stone and when the car tires were rotated then it caused the crack to spread. Oh my GOD! He said hed take care of it on Monday, it was Friday. I drove my car home as the crack spread. I called him many times but he did not call me back. Finally Monday I got in touch with him and brought my car in. Guess what!!! No windshield on Monday, No windshield on Tuesday and No windshield on Weds (until Weds eve) why? Because they told me that it was not in stock at the auto glass people, then Tuesday the one they got in had a crack, and they had decided not to install a cracked glass (really?), and then today Weds I could get my car...but guess what - now they were not honoring the agreement that there would be no deductible, because they did not realize that my insurance was out of State...MY PLATES ARE FROM MAINE. Not one person really looked at my car. I hesitate with this statement but as soon as I leave NY and head back to Maine, Im going to have another dealer check and see if the tires were indeed rotated and the oil was changed, and if so if its all proper. Id be terrified to bring my car there again. They are so hard on the cars, they dont listen, they over talk you and they are obviously not knowledgeable about VWs. Its very sad to see this. I am surprised VW allows this kind of service representation. I have no recourse, the dealer is going to split the deductible with me. How can I fight this, I just want to return the loaner and have my car back and get out of there. I could have brought my car to any auto glass company ... but brought it back there because - well I must be crazy to have thought that it would go smoothly. Anyway, beware this dealership if you have a VW.
