After years of spending thousands of dollars on my vehicle, I spent another 1200, and the vehicle would only run for 5 days. I tried to get them to fix it and they wanted thousands more! I offered to have them exchange it for a new one and they scheduled an appointment which I was ignored for 3 hours. They just want money so I called the corporate office and a man at escalations screamed at me hurting my ears. Issue not resolved and my car is sitting at my apartments. Extremely poor customer service!!! I went to Honda! Anyone want my poor Kia?

Nothing but harassment and terrible customer service. We purchased the Kia Soul in 2011. We love the car and havent really had any problems with it at all. Our nightmare comes from Kia Motors Finance. After being laid off of a job we had to survive on my wifes check. She has recently had knee replacement surgery putting her out of work and reducing our income to that of a disability check. Needless to say, it has become a struggle to make ends meet from month to month and our payments have suffered. Kia claims they are willing to work with us on the matter but by that they mean constant harassing phone calls demanding money. After finally getting another job, we are able to start working on catching up on our payments. However, we woke this morning to discover our car is gone.Time and time again I have tried to explain our situation to Kia Motors Finance. Time and time again it seems my words have fallen on deaf ears. The only work with you method these people know is the constant barrage of phone calls (several calls a day) asking when we can send payments and even more ridiculous, how much we can send. Even after managing to send a total of $700.00, we continued getting these calls. The associates are rude and unwilling to actually help anyone. They speak to customers with the attitude that we are being a bother to them or they have something better to do than talk to you about your situation. My intent to send another $550.00 payment has come to a halt with the disappearance of our car. If someone isnt actually willing to work with us and I lose my job because of no transportation, Kia will not see another penny of my money which is of no consequence to them being a multi-million dollar company. My late payments are not going to send these people spiraling into bankruptcy. After this car gets paid off I will never buy another Kia again or recommend it to a friend not because of the quality of the car, which is excellent, but because of the poor quality of customer service at the finance department. They need to re-think their methods of customer service or re-train their representatives whose lack of compassion and inability to listen to their customers is a large, oozing stain on their reputation.

I bought a new car from Kia in November at 9 pm. After spending about 3 hrs there because the salesmen who promised to give me a better deal went home without calling me they then tried to charge me about a 100.00 more than the other dealer. The next day I noticed a small ding in door but was going to let it go until I noticed part of the rear bumper area had waves or indentations throughout it. I finally got it fixed after being laughed at originally. Three months ago I noticed the paint on my car starting to pop. There are no dents on the car and it is garage kept yet they are trying to avoid fixing it and blaming it on something contaminating the paint. This is garage kept in a personal parking spot at work with no trees around it. I partially blame the dealer. But for Kia corporate not to take action is inexcusable. I have missed work because of the stress this has put on me and I now may have to take legal action to get it fixed

I purchased a 2013 new Kia Soul in December 2012. I took the car the Kia to have it looked at because it ran hot once so I didnt drive it again until I took it to the dealer. Let me add, I am still until factory warranty and have about 69,000 miles on the Kia. I was told that the engine was gone. I said how so when I had maintenance done. KIA denied to fix my car and states I have to 5665.00 to get my car fix, in which the used engine is 2115.00, 954.00 for test ran on the car and the rest is labor and parts. I hope this helps someone. My car is still at Kia and I dont know what else to do.

I purchased my 3rd Kia in Sept 2021. A 2022 Stinger GT. I found out on Friday, 12/31/21 that the transmission needs to be replaced. (Less than 8k miles). My appt was at 11am and they were closing at 4pm that day. By 3pm, when I had still not heard anything from my Service Advisor, I went back up to the dealership. The car wasnt currently being looked at or worked on, and yet no one had bothered to call and deliver the awful news. Nor did they even attempt to call the Tech Line and get authorization for a rental car. This was on a Friday, so I was without my car over the weekend. I called my Service Advisor back on Monday morning at 9:30 am (knowing he wouldnt be reaching out to me first). I was then told that the tech line doesnt open until 11am our time and they will have to authorize a rental car. But Hertz may not have anything available. I will NEVER purchase another Kia, that is for sure.

Took my car in, notice the next day that oil had dripped from car. Had got oil change, tire rotation and change radiator out and got inspection on car. Drove car to bank next day. Came back home, saw something on side walk. It was oil that had leaked out. Car had to get tolled in to Hutchinson dealer, was without car but they didnt ask me if I wanted a car. And then I had call them several times after I sent a picture of what had happen. They are very careless, my car was the first one there for the times I have been there. They dont speak to you but want you to buy car from them then they are nice. After that they treat you like nothing.

2017 Sorento engine seized in October of 2018. Vehicle is sitting at the Cooper Kia dealership in NY. Rewind. Vehicle had a slight knocking sound. Husband calls dealership and states that oil change was already scheduled following day and they say bring it up on Monday as it was Friday. Oil change completed and drove car home. A while later went to run errands and horrible loud knocking at this point. Call Kia and they say, Drive it up to us. Um ok. Not even 5 mile out of my home city and the freaking car dies on the highway, my husband driving and me following. Had a hard time getting it off to the shoulder and waited for roadside. Kia calls following week and says they need maintenance records before they will inspect. Faxed them over right away and charge me to take the valve cover off. Then then say engine needs to be replaced at my cost! No way!Under warranty with 32,000 miles. Kia said that oil changes were not legit. They said that because the VIN number not on the receipt, no good. So I argued the fact that the license number on all receipts could be traced to DMV to verify. Duh. Back and forth arguing and they finally decide they will honor warranty engine replacement but my husband has to pay for labor about 1,000. Uh ok. 9 months have passed and engine on backorder.Call in every month to see status and no one really knows. Kia consumer affairs had the third now rep that just called to see what’s going on. Really? You’re calling us. Billy from Kia consumer says that it doesn’t look like the engine will be in by the time the lease is up. So I’m paying for a vehicle and carrying full insurance that I haven’t driven in 9 months. He proceeds to have us contact KMF and the dealership to try and get out of the lease. We’ve asked to get out of the lease several times and denied. KMF said, Don’t call and ask us as it is solely up to Kia and the dealership. Ridiculous runaround and fed up with the terrible lies.Received a campaign letter about software issue and knocking engines to update in February. Maybe if the stinking sensor worked and warned people beforehand they could fix issues before disaster strikes. Or perhaps stop making the darn crappy engines and blaming consumers. What a disappointment. Husband went up to get plates off vehicle last week. Contacted BBB and attorney general. We shall see. I don’t want this SUV back. Never buy a Kia and don’t let them convince you that it’s your fault. FYI number 4 cylinder misfire code and crankshaft misaligned. Kia, your engines suck and you know it. With all the lawsuits and recalls, don’t be surprised if they go belly up in the industry. Awful experience.

I have had a terrible experience with Kia Motors and their Warranty Administrator. My 2012 Kia Sorento broke down during a 2 hour trip in November 2013. We had the vehicle towed over 50 miles (which Kia roadside assistance said they would not cover, but per the service dept/manager at the dealership all costs related to the breakdown would be covered) to a dealership that would service our vehicle on a Saturday located near our home. We had no choice as my wife and I share this vehicle and dont have any other means to travel to work. Rodeo Kia (the dealership) in Avondale, AZ has been very cooperative all along, and eventually (vehicle was in the shop for 1 week) the entire engine was replaced. But, we have yet to be refunded by the Warranty Administrator for the cost of the tow. Around $200.00. I am seriously disappointed as I have had to continuously contact the dealership to have this completed and I continue to receive answers in regards to blaming the Warranty Administrator. Ive been informed not only that the Warranty Administrator was changed, but that the dealership is now speaking with consumer affairs as well. This has been the most frustrating experience I have had as the problem continues to linger on.

One of the best cars Ive ever bought. It drives so good and very comfortable seating. It has the best warranty on the market (10 years) and for half the price of other vehicles that are similar in style and performance I am very pleased with my Kia Sorrento. It is a great SUV for our family. Go test drive one and see why there are so many Kia Sorrentos on the road today. I paid $23,000 out the door for a brand new 2018 SUV. I did a lot of homework and bought at a good time saving over $10,000 on my vehicle. I would definitely recommend buying a Kia. Im happy with mine and will be buying another one soon in the future.

The week after I bought my Kia, the Kia dealership in my neighborhood changed to a Lexus. You would have thought the sales team would have told me when selling me my car. I thought I was getting a dealer near my place for easy repairs. So when I broke down with a flat tire, I called roadside. Im on a lease so covered. But they said I had to have my car towed to two cities away unless I wanted to pay for it and apply for reimbursement. They said Id just have to wait for my reimbursement. That reimbursement was denied after two months of waiting. According to Kia, I should have had my car towed and repaired over an hour away rather than the block from my house at the Discount Tire center I took it to.Trying to get them to respond is also a system set up to make the customer just give up: youre not allowed to talk directly to the department making the decision. Each call is to another department that has to advocate for you. That department is always backed up with calls. So to get 300 dollars back from an allegedly covered roadside service need, it has taken three months and it was denied because they closed the Kia dealership in my city.

I was one of the misfortunate people to purchase a used Kia. There was 70,000 miles left on the warranty but I did not know that this did not transfer to the second owner. Kia is one of two companies that do not allow for transfer of warranty. I had the ball joints replaced at my Kia dealer and within a short time the engine overheated and required over $1000 of repair. I question what was done to the vehicle while being serviced. Overall the service at Kia has been poor and when I complain I am treated as if it is my fault. I will never own another Kia vehicle.

Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. Got this car for my daughte
Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. Got this car for my daughter who’s paid this note since 2015- car almost paid off only owes $2900. Contacted them in December 2020 for a two month extension being my daughter lost her job due to COVID. January told by Kia rep that everything was good to go- no payment due till February. Today she’s notified her payment is over 30 days past due. When my daughter called Kia the reps said there was a glitch and refused to put a supervisor on. So I called and I was told the extension didn’t go through because the system tapped out (whatever that means)! Meanwhile not one person corrected this so called tapped out error on their part or contacted either one of us to let us know anything new needs done! This doesn’t make any sense what’s so ever! So then they said the $675 that’s now past due needs paid so my daughter paid it- I requested a supervisor or manager and then was told they don’t have one In the building! Again- WHAT! I have never heard of such insanity!I tried to see how to file a corporate complaint but of course that’s no use because when I tried to ask I’m told to log onto KIA- I log onto KIA and now the account is locked! So now all though my account going past 30 days isn’t anyone’s fault but Kia’s they will probably have the audacity to send this to my credit bureaus against me when it’s clearly their own error! Just awful! I will NEVER get another Kia vehicle again in my life and neither will my daughter- damn sure won’t ever Finance anything through them again! None of them know what they are doing and I suppose it’s because as stated by the rep no supervisor or manager is ever present in the building!

I hope this follow up gets posted also. The car went back again to the dealer Grieco Kia for the Air Conditioner once again. The fuse keeps blowing after replacing the compressor on it. They have had the car since August 22, 2013, and it is now September 1, 2013. They have changed 3 parts on the Air Conditioning system and still, the fuses are blowing and they have driven the car approximately 500 miles of testing our car. They claim that they need to drive the car 100 miles each time they put a new part in. I never heard of such bull. They are doing this so we dont get the car back and bring it back again, because if it goes back 3 or 4 times for the same problem, we can return the car under the Florida Lemon Law. This is why they have not returned our new car to us as of yet. The funny part is that we are making the monthly payments on the car and they Grieco Kia is driving our car all over. The longer this goes on with our new car, the more I am telling people not to buy a Kia or any other brand cars that Grieco Kia sells.

I bought a 2019 Kia Sorento with only 35,000 miles on it. The car broke down after less than 2 months of use. It has been towed to the dealer and been sitting in their lot for over two months now. The week my car died, I also lost a family member and was unable to get to the hospital before he passed. The mechanic said they dont know what the problem is with it and they wont approve a rental until he can find the exact problem and they also will not approve a reimbursement for the rental. I have called them several times about the fact that I am making a car payment for a new car and additional fees for rental with no end in sight. I bought a new car specifically so I would not have these types of problems. This situation is completely unacceptable and I will never ever buy another Kia as long as I live. I honestly dont think the company even cares which is all the more frustrating.

The third time they just bent it again.Today, on my way home, I was almost on E and of course, my gas door would not open. It is very frustrating to have a car that you are not able to put gas in. I have had my 2013 Kia Sorento for 2 years and I have never had an issue with the car up until this far. Recently my fuel pump went out and as inconvenient as it was Kias customer service helped make the situation quick and cost free. Even though I was the second owner of the car, therefore voiding the Extended warranty, Kia still covered the repairs at no cost to me. Even though it was a holiday weekend they had me in a rental car the same day and even covered the entire cost for the week I had it. KIA Picanto 2016 Dont trust KIA Motors! The first technical problem that occurred with the KIA was in August, the car was taken to the KIA service in order to fix the problem. I was told that the problem had been entirely fixed and would not happen again. However, after a month the exact same problem occurred. The car completely stopped in the middle of the road and the steering wheel locked making it impossible for me to move the car somewhere safe. I had two young children in the back and this situation could have easily caused an extremely serious accident with not just myself and my family but others on the road. The car was taken to the KIA service in order to fix the same problem once again. This exact same problem has now occurred three times and each time it has caused me an overwhelming deal of stress, money and time. I am extremely frustrated and angry with this entire situation, the problem had supposedly been dealt with, I am not comfortable driving this car anymore as it is clearly not up to road safety standards and would never want to risk putting the life of my children or others on the road in any kind of danger.

I originally purchased a Kia Sorento EX in July and after the car being in the shop numerous times without any resolution to the problem, I then traded it in after only a month for another 2013 Kia Sorento EX but with the 3rd row seating and navigation package. My 3-month-old car was in the shop. I originally had a problem with the gas mileage and rpm to which I was told Kia came out with an update to fix that problem, which apparently after having the update applied to my vehicle has made the problem worse! I currently am getting horrible gas mileage for a four-cylinder; if I wanted only 18-22 mpg, I would have purchased a 6-cylinder. On top of that, my heating element went out on the drivers side which they ordered the part, but that apparently was not the problem and at the moment they are not sure what is going on. I then tried to get a rental car through the service offered by the extended platinum coverage that I had purchased at the time of purchase of the vehicle. I was then rudely told that the only way a rental is covered is if the vehicle has a diagnosis code and that the issue would be covered under warranty! Its a brand new vehicle with extended coverage. Why wouldnt it be covered under warranty? What is the point of me spending over a thousand dollars on a warranty that is useless? I am beyond upset with my recent purchase through Kia and Im very disgusted at the way the regional office handles customer complaints or concerns. I initially had a claim pending with Kia. I called several times, each leaving a message, and still have yet to receive even a courtesy call back. The young lady I had originally spoke with when I had an issue with the first vehicle told me, Thats why Kia has a warranty to cover issues with their vehicles! So that tells me that they arent going to make a quality car because they have such an outstanding warranty? Its not even the issue with the warranty; its the stress and gas wasted running back and forth to a dealership. If I wanted an unreliable vehicle, then I would have purchased a used car! At the moment, I have nothing good to say about Kia because you obviously dont stand by your products. Your customer service is very lackluster, and the right to do would have been to may be a little more caring and even offer a gas card for the inconvenience of my traveling 50+ miles back and forth to the dealership. So that day, after spending over two hours in the service department, I was given a rental by the service asst. manager in which I do commend her for doing so, seeing that they had yet to come up with a solution to the problem. I was happy with their covering the rental but not by the fact that it was a basic model Nissan Versa! On another note, Kia is the only dealership that I have dealt with that does not have a shuttle service nor uses their own brand of vehicles as loaner cars which, to me, says a lot. All that I was asking for was that someone takes a little more initiative in solving customer issues and making sure the customer is satisfied, and I am really hoping that my problem is successfully resolved this time around. Its one thing when you are having issues with your vehicle and customer service goes above and beyond. At least when people ask if you like your vehicle, you can tell them, Well, Ive had a couple issues, but Kia corporate was very helpful in resolving, vs. No, I wouldnt suggest that you purchase a Kia! I was just contacted by the service department at Conyers Kia and my car is drivable but the issue hasnt been fixed. They need to order a new part which wont be in until sometime next month. So now, that is more time and gas wasted! Once all the parts came in, I then took my vehicle back into the shop for the fourth time! They then replaced the alternator which was supposedly causing the idling problem, and they also replaced my heating element. Well, two months later, lets just say not only has my gas mileage gotten worse since they replaced the alternator but the idling problem has returned! Also, the update that was supposed to fix the problems was obviously a lie because not only is the problem unfixable, Kia has come out with a reimbursement program for falsely advertising mpg on certain vehicles.

Our 2012 Sorento was serviced by the KIA service department where we bought the car. We were driving in town at 35 mph when the engine just stopped. The engine had no warning lights and no noises. We luckily were near a parking lot and were able to coast in. Called the KIA service to receive the car and diagnose the problem. They tell us the main engine bearing failed and we will need a new engine. If this is a problem KNOWN to KIA, they should replace the engine for us. At no cost. We had a Subaru Forester for 260,000 miles with absolutely no engine problems! I think this needs more investigation.

Brand new 2017 Kia Sorento top of the line. MSRP 51k I leased this junk, thank god too! I woke up today ready for work and when I went to start this junk, it wouldnt start. I had to call Kia roadside asst. Here is the number 800 333 4542. They came and towed it to the nearest dealership. Im now waiting at home missing work, waiting for the dealership to call me. Do not buy or lease a Kia. I would be better off with a bicycle.

I have received my 2nd safety recall on my 2010 KIA Soul which I bought brand new at Terry Reid KIA in Cartersville, GA. I had to relocate to Green Valley, AZ in 7/13 to come under the treatment of a highly specialized physician after becoming extremely ill as I was unknowingly put into a hazardous toxic mold environment at a resort which we eventually found behind all the wallpapered areas -- this facility had been infested with this toxic molds, come to find out, for years with no action being taken. I am now multi-chemically sensitive and cannot be in any dealerships where there are smells and odors as it will complicate my situation even further. I was just directly exposed to poisonous pesticides at my complex as management did not put up advance warnings as to when these would be used around my building and have been extremely ill as a result. I have a KIA Soul which must be repaired and am unable to get it to the closest dealership (over 1 hr one-way from me) due to my health conditions, and this will take at least 3 hours to repair. I have emailed KIA Consumer Services to get my car towed into Jim Click KIA in Tucson to get this unsafe situation fixed. I would have to stay with my vehicle in an environment that I cannot be in as this is being repaired; no one to pick me up here, etc. So, we will wait and see what KIA will do to help me with this dilemma.

Why am I liable for something that has not been my fault? I am giving this
Why am I liable for something that has not been my fault? I am giving this a day to be resolved then I will go to my lawyers which is scorpion and I will not give up. I refuse to pay a service. When I pay for the service if I wanted to pay I was not going to take the service plan. I know I have to pay for the brakes. I will not pay the service so let me explain myself for the 100th time. I took my car for the service as agreed with Kia east rand branch. On the 3rd I had a accident with my car. As per attached you can clearly see I picked it up on the 23rd of Dec knowing I never skip my service as you can see and Im never late either. I tried phoning Kia Kempton as thats where I always take my car. Disappointingly no one responds. I then phone your kia kempton sales to find out why is no one getting back to find out oh they closed. Fair enough.I go on your useless website where it clearly states book a service, leave your details, someone will get back to you. And to my surprise guess what? No one did. So sad. This I did in Dec knowing my car needs to go. I desperately try and get hold of someone. No one phones me back. I phone your branch east rand either the 28 or 29 Dec. I get the following words: Sorry we are full but we can help you the 3rd. Knowingly this is not going to work as its due now they assure me its no problem at all. So I believed your people again. Im doing it as per how Im suppose to keep in mind as attached my car went in. So I could not do it as I usually do early and if you bothered phoning your customers back this wont happen. So I get a nice phone call today. I need to pay for a service. Now look the lady there well done but for the rest useless. So Im giving this one day to be resolved so I can take my car at the cost of you all not me as I pay for the service plan and I was not at fault as you can see. So one day and then Im taking this further. I will not leave this. I will pay for my brakes. Not the service. My number to get hold of me; **. I expect a call in the next hour. As to how this will be resolved this car is not second hand its not ten years old and its sure as ** has never missed a service and kia kempton didnt say nothing at all. So blame your staff not me. I pay you still and whats sad its 200000 not a 5000 second hand car. This is disgusting to think I wanted to buy another kia when this is the treatment you get when you not at fault between kia and liquid capital? My car will be serviced at your cost. Decide how so I can take it as Im running the km up by having it again your fault. One hour and Im sending it to my lawyer.

I would stay away from Kia vehicles as their engine build has proven to fail. There were recalls on Kia Optima engines, which my husband own and had engine failure. Recently my 2010 Kia Forte engine has failed. Less than 10 years old 120k miles, bought new, service and repairs all done at dealership and suddenly engine goes out. Called Kia and their customer service is rude as ever. My family will never again purchase a Kia.

I’ve bought three Kia cars. I love the design and price but I’m done with Kia. Two of the cars have had engine problems. One the rod went through the engine (Kia Soul). They replaced it with no problem, gave me a rental car and everything went smoothly. This second one has been painful (Kia Sorento). After months and multiple trips to the dealer because a light was on but they couldn’t find any issue, the car finally stopped working in the middle of rural GA. Because of the pandemic, while they fixed the engine, I had to rent a rental car. Of course it took months, I understand parts etc are issues at this point. But in the almost three months since I’ve had the car back and I’ve had to take the car in for that same light twice with fixes that I’ve had to pay for, I haven’t received my rental reimbursement after submitting the request almost three months ago but they’ve said I went over their daily cap for reimbursement despite the fact I had the lowest tier rental and used a discount code. Note, nowhere in the paperwork or multiple conversations with the dealer and corporate did they say there was a daily cap. And they’re not responding to requests for an update. I’m going to look for a new SUV this weekend. I’m done with Kia!

Bought a 2016 Kia Sorento 10/2017. Was traveling for work related activity in FL. Engine seized. Had to be towed to nearest KIA in SE Alabama. Car has been down since 12/18/2018. KIA states will replace motor. But they dont seem to understand that when an original motor is pulled from a vehicle and the mileage on the chassis and body differs, the title becomes what is known to the States and lenders as a Salvaged title. You lose if any but all trade in value. Also articulating the circumstance to a future buyer can be complicating in itself. I will state for the record that this is my third KIA. First was a 14 Soul, 16 Optima I bought brand new left the lot with only 17 miles on the motor, at 40, was told the engine has a recall and would fail due to improper oil delivery system, so I trade up to the 16 Sorento, and well well, here we are at 22,miles and what do we have once again. A LEMON. KIA is ripping off American Consumers and should be banned from conducting business in the USA. They need to pack up and go back to Seoul. This is part of what is wrong with our economy. And the personal debt ceilings rise and rise, due to inadequate products, as soon as one car is paid for it breaks and time to repurchase again. We need to get back to the basics and make cars like they use to. I’ve got a 96 Chevy that runs as if it was just driven off the lot. Wake UP America.

As a Kia owner and supporter of the rejuvenated products and brands, I had to tell you about my experiences that are still on-going with the dealer and service franchisees/network that Kia seem to be straddled with.On July 13, I brought my car in to City World Kia in the Bronx, which, in and of itself, was a nightmare. You see, the greater New York Metro area has very few dealers to choose from and those that are members of your network are very suspect at best and downright dishonest and awful in reality.Having called Jason at customer service (Kia USA), it was clear he could only be limited in his effectiveness as he constantly and repeatedly told me that the dealers were independent and that Kia USA could not directly get involved to help the service process along. This was seven days into leaving my car there without even a call or return about my inquiries. That was very frustrating since it is in Kias best interest to make sure that their dealer and service network are not only trained well, but also provide the best service that they can as competition, as you know, is fierce.Unfortunately, Jason (of Kia USA Customer Service) didnt follow-up after I asked him if I could pass along my frustrations to the district manager (who he said was not available to the public) and we ended the call with him giving me an ID # 28-2003701. No call or any updates as he was ignored by City World KIA as well. All he could say was, sorry Mr. ** and Ill do what I can, which is nothing. I also talked to Kathryn ** at the corporate office and Crystal **, who closed my case after she did nothing to get my car fixed. This, in and of itself, was the most insulting since she ignored four phone calls that I made. When I called Justina, another service representative, just to speak to someone on August 17, she, at least, called me back twice to tell me she had to send the case to the executive level because it was closed by Crystal (after Jason gave it to executive, he didnt and couldnt do anything). Amazed, shocked and insulted -- my car still wasnt fixed. So why should I get frustrated if my Borrego was lost at City World for a week? Why should I be upset that Kia USA did absolutely nothing to move my car along after I took it out of City World Kia and after they finally found it (yes, they lost it)? Why then should I be insulted and feel demeaned after Lash Kia couldnt provide a loaner car because I waited a month to have them get some parts in to do the work? It has been three days and I am still waiting for Lash Kia to finish their work on the Borrego. And when I talked to David, the service associate who I originally spoke with about my horrifying experience with City World KIA, he was upset and was correcting me that I have to wait to get the additional parts in. Do they think at Kia that their customers dont need their cars? Do they treat all of their customers like this? So, I found myself waiting with no car despite giving Lash Kia a month to get the recall parts and do the work they needed to do. Afterwards, they told me that the car and the issues Ive raised (and youll love this) are operating within manufacturers parameters. I was told that the 4WD hang up sometimes when it is engaged and does the same thing when you want to disengage it. What? Are they kidding? So, after over a month of waiting and fixing the delaminated rotors myself for safety reasons, I am treated like an imbecile. Kia USA ignored me despite my sending emails to six of their executives and being promised a promotion for my troubles. Wow! I wonder if the head office in South Korea is aware of the poor level of service and treatment of their customers in North America. Each time, I had to call the service department and they were upset with me whenever I inquired as to the status of the car. With City World, I called after four days and I was not able to speak with Nick, a service technician who was supposedly fired, until the end of that first week. Moreover, the claim by Carlos, the service manager, was that they were busy and I had nine items to check. But then again, I found out that the special technician was out of town until the end of the week. The same thing happened at Lash when a seemingly competent Tania ** went on vacation while my car was with them. Only after I called three times did I get David to call me back to tell me they were waiting for another part despite me trying to avoid leaving my car at another dealership for three more days without any notice or update. On the basis that the service options for Kia automobiles are so restricted in this area to ramshackle chop shops, their on-line service appointment system was a complete waste as the request and ensuing specifics about why I was bringing the car in was not even received by City World. Its something of a phishing feature and, yes, this is something that Kia should be concerned about. How can Kia USA ignore an area with 16 million people? Had I been working for Kia, I would make every effort to get new licensees with state-of-the-art service centers, show rooms, and sales and service people that can, at least, spell! Ive owned Hondas, Acuras, Mercedes-Benz, Mazdas and BMWs over the years and not once have I been so blown away by the complete incompetence, indifference, filth, poor service, etc. by the Kia brand. My bottom line is that Kia needs desperately to upgrade all of the areas I mentioned and Id be happy to stay with them because I am thrilled by the renaissance over the years from the disastrous Hyundai Pony of the 80s to the thrilling designs and engineering of the line-up today. Unfortunately, the dealer and service network is so wanting and deficient that Kia will lose sales on that basis alone which is truly a shame! As for my poor car, I brought it in for the following reasons: Service Campaign CS005 (rear seat carpet replacements), defective windshield washer motor, defective hatch-rear light, wheezing and clunky CD player, popping and knocking sound under the passenger seat, slow-shifting transmission, 4WD that gets stuck in low (requiring a reboot by shutting off the car and rolling it), front brakes that have either got warped or delaminating rotors causing serious vibration, a possible leak in the fluid, and poor suspension which causes the vehicle to hop and jump over road seems and bumps. I understand that it is a truck-tuned suspension, but it is unsafe to corner with the Borrego because of the serious steering issues when hitting any bumps at all. I neglected to tell them about the inside weather seals that are dropping off and that need to be reset on all four doors, but hey, I just wanted them to deal with the safety issues. Oh, and I asked about how to clean the cloth seats and all I got was a comment to use regular upholstery cleaner. Gee, thanks, considering that they are staining so easily, that my daughters damp swimsuits left water stains on all of the seats in the back. Great quality! Considering the service so far (or total lack thereof), I dont expect anything and absolutely will never buy a Kia or recommend one again. In fact, what Kia has done (especially Kia USAs total lack of interest in assisting me with their independent dealer network and their promises that were left unfilled) is that instead of bringing a customer back in the fold, they have created an absolutely incensed customer who will use every opportunity to enlighten anyone about the dealer network and the corporate reality of Kia USA as a paper kitten when dealing with their dealers and their customers. As it is, I had to drive some 12 miles from my home to get bounced from the dealership to the service area because I couldnt bring myself to go to the Yonkers location. No communication from Jason or anyone as they close the files regardless if the case was resolved or not. The reason that major corporations run into significant problems is that their field experts do not have the ability to end licensees relationships, or just decide not to, simply because they are selling cars. Imagine how many more they would sell if they did not have dealerships like City World Auto, Yonkers Kia, the fraudsters at Major World and Nemet (who tried to bait and switch me, posting cars they didnt have on-line), and Smithtown Kia.Right now, I am sitting, waiting and expecting for a call. I would likely get some huge bill with nothing covered under the warranty despite the car having only 32,000 miles on it. I shudder to think how much more effort Ill have to make to get my car back without any damage being done to it. Can Kia USA help? No. Hopefully, this letter will shake up the district managers and their managers. Kia might sell even more cars and create happy, grateful repeat customers! I, unfortunately, will never be one of them.

Performance and customer service from dealership: I was never given a chance to drive my New 2012 Kia Rio by the salesperson. Being a woman, I felt they took advantage of me. No test drive, who does that. It was a cash sale. Yes, thats right. I shelled out a cool $ 19,924.05 and now, I am getting treated like crap by the local dealership. I was not told there was not a spare in the trunk. So all this time I m driving around thinking it was a spare not a box and a small compressor that doesnt work. It took me having a flat on a cold snowy day with my baby in my car. They refused to send a courtesy shuttle for me and kept giving me the run around. I then called for roadside service which showed up 1 hour later. I could change the tire and the hole was too big to fix with the so-called repair kit, what a joke. That is just one issue. Second complaint, the gas mileage is not what the sticker price claimed. I spent too much on gas with that car. And third complaint is the car drives lousy and rough, it doesnt even drive like a new car, no smoothness, and I feel and hear every bump in the road. It has a pull and drives real slow and doesnt take a hill at all. The car has no power at all. What liars to get a sale. These people should be ashamed of themselves. Poor service and no care for the customer now that they have got my hard earned money. Do I take a loss and trade or just sell the car out right and go to another dealership? I knew I should have gone to Ford. I guess you live and learn you people are real jerks. Now, they have my car that was towed to them. They have no tires on hand and had to order one at my expense, $100.00 to be exact. And, they refused to give me loaner car until this issue could be resolved, but I raised so much beef with them they finally obliged me and gave me a used Sonata to drive. That is the least you could have done. Do I sue or wait and see what Kia is going to do about my car. Twice they tell me nothing is wrong with the car, I drive it daily and I know that there is. I even had my son fly in from Virginia to drive it. I figured maybe it was operator error. Wrong, it is that cheap made car which should have been recalled in my book. The overall performance is shabby to say the least and has no high quality performance and for a 2012, it drives like it is 6 years old or more.

My car has been intermittently cutting off. The last incident was on Monday morning, it would not start - even though all the functions came on. Car had to be towed to the Dealer. Dealer confirmed that the car was NOT starting, and it was reverting to the default setting/test setting or something like that. They were looking into it. Well - they did not give me a loaner vehicle - even after repeated request, and the Customer Complaint service informed me that I need to secure transportation on my own and that he too has to do so for his own CHEVY.. talk about customer service that SUCKS!!Well, it is Day 3 - no calls from KIA to me, I am the one who has been checking on the status of my vehicle daily. The KIA rep supposedly came out yesterday but because they are not able to duplicate the error - they are unable to assist. So the bottom line, from the Complaints service Rep that I just spoke with is - Take the car, since it starts now... but we cannot guarantee it will not do the same thing. Also, Ive found online complaints where the KIA has just cut out while driving. This horrifies me, since I have young children and we have long commutes. I need some help, please.

I get a lady on the phone whos reading me verbatim all these things acting like Im a year overdue when in fact Im not late at all on this payment. Shes telling me shes trying to collect a debt. Im trying to nicely to interrupt her and tell her I know thats why Im calling to pay my bill. She proceeded to tell me how rude I was being and that Im not letting her finish. There was nothing to finish, I was not past due so she needed to stop treating me like I have poor credit. I tried to pay the mileage with my credit card which they said they cannot accept a credit card payment. Which to me money is money it should not matter. They are not willing to work with you. I purchased my 2014 Kia Sorento after it was a leased vehicle for two years. I was thrilled at the beginning until halfway through year 2 of owning it ALL of my paint started peeling off of the roof and the sides of the windshield. After fighting Kia for months and them denying that anything with their paint is faulty and taking it to numerous repair shops I got it painted for the low low price of $1,000. I then had the OTHER side of my windshield start peeling less than 2 weeks after I got the driver side painted resulting in me having to fight with Kia again. I have been fighting this battle since June of 2018 and am still waiting for my reimbursement check from consumer affairs for the first round of repainting. They apparently keep forgetting to hit their magical process button for my check as that is the excuse Ive now received 3 times from them. DO NOT BUY ONE OF THEIR CARS. The paint is not properly applied and is not thick enough and will start peeling just before year 4 of owning the car. Kia will tell you they only insure their paint job for 3 years and that you are out of luck. This product is faulty and they are not willing to do anything except turn you away and not acknowledge the problem. Terrible company.

I purchased a 2012 Kia Sorento back in November of 2017. After seeing the vehicle had been well maintained on the Carfax and it had low mileage of around 75,000 I felt confident the vehicle would be a reliable long term purchase for me and my family. Now just months later in May 2018 the vehicle spontaneously shut down while driving last week. Fortunately for me I on road with parking lot I could safely roll into and stop. This may not be the case if this happens to another vehicle who may be on a high traffic interstate, high speed roadways, etc. After having it towed to the local Kia dealership I am being told it needs an entire new engine. After a little research, I noticed a Kia Sorento engine failure recall for 2012-2014 due to poor engine manufacturing assembly from leaving debris in engine. After contacting Kia consumer affairs I was told my VIN was not included in this recall. However, they settled on covering half of the $4,000+ repair. If they know they are at fault, why not pay repair in entirety? They claim it is not covered under a warranty and I am ‘fortunate’ they covered as much as they did. I just wanted to educate anyone looking to purchase a new or used vehicle. Steer clear of Kia or Hyundai products unless you can justify buying a new engine before 90,000 miles. I am now going on my THIRD week of having to pay for a rental vehicle because Sorento is still is not repaired. Between the weekly vehicle rental fees, time and hassle, towing fees and the unpronounced $2,000+ for an engine repair I am beyond frustrated at the lack of customer safety concern and service. Please share this to friends and family. Even if this helps just one person not have to go through this situation in the future it was worth my time writing and sharing it.

Less than a minute later we all heard a loud bang out of nowhere that sounded like a gunshot. Immediately following the sunroof exploded into a million little pieces that rested on the shade I had just pulled. In October 2011, I purchased a new 2012 Kia Soul. Within the year, I began to hear a knocking sound in my engine. On each maintenance visit, Id bring up this issue and was told they were unable to confirm the knocking sound. Fast forward to 06/24/2017, I get this loud noise on a cold start from my vehicle. Again, I take it to a Kia dealership. After years of trying to get someone to acknowledge the knocking sound, the dealership acknowledges it and states the noise is coming from the valve train and that Ill need a new engine. Dealership contacts Kia but Kia denies my warranty claim because the knocking sound isnt loud enough. Im the original owner of the vehicle with 88,500 miles so I dont have much time left before Im no longer eligible for the warranty. The dealership tells me that Ill have to contact Kias 800 number if I want to dispute the findings and obtain approval to proceed with the warranty work for the engine. My husband makes an initial call to the 800 number and after 30 minutes of arguing is told nothing can be done and thats the end of it. No case was opened or referred for further review. I then place my call. I am calm and collective and explain the issue Im having and get referred to a case manager by the name of Hei. I, again, go through the pain of explaining my issue. Initially she states that Kia would not have denied the claim because its covered under warranty. With this knowledge, I inquire to find out how were able to forward the approval over to the dealership so that they can begin the repairs on my work and provide me with a rental. She then tells me that my car is not under any recalls. Now Im just dumbfounded because nowhere in our conversation did I ever state I was there for a recall. The case manager then proceeds to tell me that she has nothing on file regarding my issue and will need to contact the dealer and provides me with a 2-3 business day turnaround. I explain that this is an ongoing issue and I have a 10.5 hr trip coming up and I need this resolved sooner. She then tries to tell me that she has to contact the dealer because the dealer hasnt reached out to Kia. This is when my frustration begins to set in. Now Ive been going around in circles for about 30 minutes and she hasnt heard any of what my complaint is. I reiterate our conversation and then she becomes hostile. Im frustrated and ask for a manager. Im then told I cant speak to a manager! I said Look, Im not getting any form of resolution and this is what I was sent to you for. Id like to speak to a manager. She then tells me I dont know you! I need to talk to the dealer. I said Thats fine, what I dont understand is why they cant be contacted right now? After requesting to be conferenced in with the dealer, the case manager felt I was going around in circles and informs me shes going to disconnect me, and she did. My case manager hung up on me with no offer to resolve my issue or follow up. About 2 hours later, I contact the 800 number again. I explain my situation, again, and kindly request to speak to a manager at this point due to the conversations that took place earlier that morning. The rep tried to review my situation and then begins the same vicious cycle that took place earlier that morning. Theres an obvious miscommunication issue and a lack of acknowledgement on Kias side. All Im asking for is to speak to someone who can actually do something to get the authorization out to the dealership so they can begin the repairs. When we finally hit a stopping point, the rep finally gives in and provides me with the name and extension number for a manager who conveniently isnt available. I leave a message and request a call back because Ive already spent over an hour and a half combined on these calls with Kia. Its been about 4 hours and I have not received a call back. Kia is avoiding the issue. Its been confirmed I need an engine replacement. They want to wait until the engine basically explodes is what Im gathering. When it does, theres a very good chance Ill be out of warranty. They dont care if my engine dies on my venture or if my family will be put at risk because my vehicles been disabled and Im literally stuck in the middle of the road, exposed to other drivers who may not be aware and smack right into us. Then what? Its ridiculous that I have to resort to this. I will file a suit in court if needed to get this issue resolved.

Yep, my paperwork from the dealer service center actually says the converter melted. They were unable to explain to me why this may have happened and only stated it was corrected now. Within the first 10 minutes of driving away from the dealership in heavy interstate traffic, I realized that sound was coming from my car. I immediately called the service center back to tell them the car now had engine noise that was not there previously and was told since it was the Friday before Labor Day to bring it back on Tuesday. Jump to Tuesday and after keeping my car all day, the service center decided that I probably needed an oil change even though it wasnt due. They then tried to tell me the technician recognized an 80% improvement in engine noise after the oil change was completed when there was no change in engine noise. After making yet another appointment with the dealer service center, I am informed that when the catalytic converter melted, debris was probably sucked up into the engine (which has less than 20k miles at this point) and they might be able to fix it or it may have to be replaced. Oh - but come and get my car and dont come back until I can provide them with service records showing that I have had the two required oil changes which were not performed by them. I am scanning and sending information that was requested yesterday today in hopes of..... I dont know what. I dont want to pay five more years on a car that has already been to the dealer going on five times (two by tow).

Kia Optima Hybrid Started on Its Own due to faulty push start. - Kia has an uncanny way of stating the same corporate line that the vehicle operates as designed when you tell them there is something wrong with the car. All one has to do is You Tube a woman who had a child in her Kia truck that took control of her and raced the car on a highway at speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour. This happened for over 30 miles and they settled with her only because it was on the police cam.In my case, my Kia literally started on its own and rolled down a hill into the woods. When I called Kia to tell them what had happened, they said the same line to me as they did to that woman with the truck. When I told Kia that the same situation was shown on You Tube where a lady had a Hybrid that she recorded to start on its own. Yet Kia is holding firm that the car does not want do that. The bottom line is Kia is a terrible car company. Of all of these complaints on here, we need real satisfaction. I think we should post everyday that Kia should not be the car company you want to deal with. I would like to hear from many of you. Perhaps in numbers, they will listen to us. Lets join up and be the David against Goliath. We will prevail. Please respond and lets get going. Thank you.

On eight separate occasions, I was charged $139.49 for a total of $1,115.92 AFTER my loan for a KIA Soul had been completely paid off. I have never experienced overcharges to this degree — house, other cars, etc. I contacted KIA Finance on four occasions over three months to no avail. I was promised everything from the “check’s in the mail” to “no record that no check was ever issued” to “a refund in 30 days or sooner” to a “customer complaint has been opened.” Neither CSRs or supervisors were able to make anything positive happen. My bank said it couldn’t get involved so late after the fact. Disappointed and will probably never buy a KIA again.

This vehicle has had over 20 major repairs and/or factory recalls in less than 60k miles at over $20,000.00 at retail. The problems are still there and they refused to resolve the issues during the last year of the warranty. I hired a lawyer and was paid for my inconveniences along with a promise in writing to repair the issues. I took it to a dealer and the factory Kia Service rep refused to inspect the vehicle. Paul ** is the National service manager and a pathological liar. This vehicle (and many other Kias) were given the lowest rating ever by J.D. Power and associates. In other words, they make very poor vehicles, using the cheapest of materials, and refuse to honor the written warranty. I am forwarding a substantial file to senior executive managers shortly to ensure that they are aware of the policy practices of staff like Paul, who is orchestrating fraud, with intent. This will also ensure the company cannot claim ignorance of the behavior of a rogue employee. It is clear this company is committing fraud on a massive scale and is well aware of this. Interestingly, Hyundai behaved in the same fashion, about 15/20 years ago, and were almost bankrupt as a result of consumer backlash. All the execs and directors were eventually fired. It is time for the same to happen to Kia execs. Hyundai owns the majority of Kia shares. It should be noted that Kia recalled 146,000 vehicles last years for airbags which did not work. My vehicle eventually got a similar recall (not included in the large recall). Kia and its dealers were aware of the airbag issues but refused to act upon it until they were forced to do so. In other words, they are responsible for possible deaths and/or serious injury to many people who trusted this company to behave ethically. They do not. They were aware of the airbag issues years before the recall was forced upon them. We need to start a large program to warn the world of this companys willingness to defraud and to injure without concern. If everyone starts talking on social media about the phony warranty and the inherent problems of all Kias - we will bring them to their knees - where they belong.

So I was driving my car for a errand for my job and I reach my destination which is less than 10 mins from my job. I get back in the car, put it in reverse and the car will not move. I called for roadside, they were wonderful. The wait was a bit long but understandable since it was a Friday. But once I arrive at Braman Kia it was a disaster from there. I arrived Sat 7:55 p.m and they were closing instead of someone saying, Maam we are closing, everyone just rudely walks right past me and cuts off lights and etc. So I leave the car and pass by today to only be told that theres no techs today and that I cant be giving a loaner or told anything until the car is checked and they dont know if it will be checked today. Like seriously how can you not have a tech available, that they only have students today? Like seriously so what happens to your customer? They are just stuck with no means of transportation.

Very disappointed in my 2011 Sorento. This is the first and last Kia I will buy. At 106K miles, just 6K miles out of warranty, I need to have my transmission replaced. Also need motor and transmission mounts. I have not even paid the vehicle off (have 6 months left) and cant justify spending $4700 to fix. Appealed to Kia for goodwill help and was denied. I bought my 2014 Kia Soul Plus brand new. It only had 5k miles on it when I purchase it. I have had nothing but issues with the gas mileage for this vehicle and have complained to the car dealership that I bought the car from several times. It had gotten so bad in fact that at one point, everytime I filled the tank I took pictures of the on dash information and wrote the mileage on my gas receipts to prove to Kia that this is in fact a problem. The estimated gas mileage for this car is supposed to be around 23 miles to the gallon in the city. I am lucky if I am getting 15 mpg.Point in case I filled the car completely up on Monday. Went 100 miles in the car and had to fill it up again the next day! Now I dont mean it was sitting at a half or a 1/4 when I had to refill, I mean the gas light was on. There was 5 lines across the dash that displays the gas average. I took it into Kia this morning only to be told there is nothing wrong with it, just as they have told me for the past 5 months of owning this car. This is an on going problem for sure. The range on the gas meter will read a different amount each time it is filled. One moment it may say that I have 283 miles until empty, then the next fill up it will tell me I have 227 miles to empty. I am not sure what is going on here and KIA will not allow me to take it to another mechanic shop. If I do they say they will void all of my warranties that I purchased. So I am stuck with a gas guzzling lemon. What do I do?

We have a 2014 Kia Soul, now has 104,182 miles on it. Took the vehicle for an oil change on 3/21/18 and advised the shop that the vehicle had been going out in the midst of driving. They kept it for a couple of days and $100.19 later, we were told we needed a new engine, but they had new cars on sale! (That! is sarcasm.) They didnt tell us why, and quoted the new engine to be $5100+ tax. The car sat in my driveway for about a week as my husband and I debated, should we get a new car? Or get a loan to pay for a new engine? But then, if we get the new engine, what if that triggers something else to go wrong? Called Customer Affairs, created a case, took the car back to the dealership, who has ONLY been the ones to handle our vehicle, for oil changes only, as we have never had any issues.Kept the car for TWO WEEKS, never heard a word, had to call, then we got the runaround, and was told that we were denied any help from the DPSM. We escalated the case, and had to call back the next day to be told all they could do is offer $1500 off of a $6800+ engine. Mind you, we were originally quoted $5100+tax. Not only am I livid, I am out a vehicle, and have been for a month now, Ive had to put wear and tear on my other vehicle while my husband and I share it, and now have to find a way out of this KIA SOUL problem.

I have had 4 Kias now, 2012 Rio and 2014 Soul both 4 years, 2017 Sportage and 2014 Optima. No problems with any of them but we are low mileage drivers. A word of warning, there are recalls on the 2011 to 2014 4 cylinder engines for failure. Also, get your oil changed at the Kia dealer, their filters are very good and have a unique property of allowing oil to pass thru on start up. Do not use 5w20 in over 60F weather, its a government scam to get better gas mileage, use the owners manual to determine what viscosity you should use, during the winter I let them put in their 5w20, during the summer I insist on 5w30. I hope not to have the problems I have read about. Good luck.

While driving to see family 260 miles from home in our 2012 Kia Sorento with our 3 children and dog in the car, the engine started making a knocking noise. No check engine light came on and we had no warning. Since it was -10 degrees outside and we have our 5 month old baby, we tried to make it to the exit. Unfortunately about 2 miles after the noise started, the car completely died! We pulled over and tried to restart it with no luck. This car has 62,000 miles. Thats it! Tow insurance ended at 60,000 miles (of course) and we had to sit with the state trooper because it was so cold outside. The dealership we had it towed to was very helpful (Prestige Kia Eau Claire, WI). However Kia headquarters was awful to us. No help with a rental or the tow. Turns out the engine is seized and needs to be replaced. Garbage! We will never buy another Kia. Now we have to drive all the way back to get our car. Very unhappy!

2013 Kia Optima Hybrid - I have taken my vehicle to the Alhambra dealer 4 times due to a clicking noise on the brake and accelerator every time I would come to a light or a stop. The first 2 times they would fix it and then the noise would come back in a few days. The third time they did not find any noise which is irritating because I would hear every single day. The fourth time I went on a ride along with a mechanic and he clearly heard the noise so they had me waiting there for 4 hours till they told me I had to leave the car for further inspection. The vehicle was left at the dealer on 3-14-2018.As of today I still do not have my vehicle and they did not offer a rental or anything, I have been getting rides to work and back home and neither did they give me a date to pick up my vehicle. I call on a daily basis for an update and they just keep giving me the runaround and the majority of the time they do not return my calls when I leave voicemails, I also opened a case with KIA and the supervisor that has my case does not return my calls or emails either. I have never ever experience this kind of problem with any vehicle or any dealership. I am still under warranty with them but with no help on their behalf. This is really frustrating.

I find it hard to believe that every dealer I visited to buy this particular model car are increasing the MSRP price of this car by thousands of dollars using a dubious practice call addendum sticker, I initiated a complain directly on the KIA website but all I received was an email indicating that someone will be in contact with me, that was back in late October 2019. As of today nobody has call me or email to address this serious problem.I understand that this is nice vehicle and people might want to pay a few hundred dollars more for it but thousands more is ludicrous and not acceptable. If KIA is allowing dealers to ripoff unsuspecting buyers all they doing is destroying their own brand as once the word gets out many buyers will simply stay away from buying this brand. I saw this happening in the early 1980s with Honda. I was a young father with 2 kids and needed an economical car, I ordered a 1980 Civic and when I went to pickup the car 6 weeks later the dealer increase the agreed price by 25% and I was told take it or leave it. Having waiting for so long for the car I end up paying gouge price. To this day I never bought another Honda.

I took it four to five times to see them before it was fixed in February of 2013. The airbag light came on. I had to go to Terry Reid for them to check it. The part was ordered and fixed a month later. Two weeks ago the engine light came on and the car started to put along. Now the car powers down like it is cutting off. I owned a 2016 Sorento. On May 12, 2019 it inexplicably caught fire. It was towed to the dealership where it was purchased and the service department immediately took responsibility after inspection and since it was still under warranty they were about to begin repairs. Later that day, I was called by the Kia corporation in California (I live in Texas) and asked to give my oil change records. I normally dont keep my records and only had a few, but 2 of the last 3 had been at the dealership and the dealership had just done my Texas inspection 3 weeks prior to this. About 4 days later, Kia called and said that they would not cover the cost of repairs because I didnt have enough recorded oil changes. Our insurance couldnt pay because it was also determined by them to be a mechanical defect that was Kias fault. It was not anywhere in my warranty handbook (or any of their handbooks) that I was supposed to keep my records. I asked the lady (Ashley) about that and she said that it was implied. My father in law is a mechanic and sometimes changes our oil and his too. I wasnt sure why that oil changes would even matter if a vehicle caught fire. I am 51 years old and I have paid off and traded in multiple vehicles including 3 Kias. I owed over $9,000 on this Kia which I had to roll into my next car because the repairs were going to be $11,000. (New engine-minimal body damage).I have been blessed that this did not cripple us financially; but if we were younger and still struggling, it could have destroyed us. One of the reasons that I had purchased the Kias was because of the 10 year warranty. I feel that Kia was looking for any way to get out of their responsibility to pay. Kias own service department had already taken responsibility. It is most disheartening that some segments of society have turned to this. Needless to say I will never purchase another Kia again and if you do, be cautious on the warranty. They are not a trustworthy company at the corporate level. Since our incident, I read in consumer reports of over 290,000 other Kias spontaneously catching fire. I will continue my disagreement by bringing a lawyer into it.

I have a 2014 KIA Sorento. I purchased this vehicle with the 100,000 mile/10-year warranty extension. My Sorento started having SiriusXM Radio reception problems around July/August of 2015. It would sporadically lose the signal and a NO SIGNAL indication would appear on the radio display. These signal losses occur no matter where I drive my car. I showed King KIA of Gaithersburg some of the many pictures I took of the radio front panel when the failures occurred. King KIA tried to fix the problem several times between December of 2015 and June of 2016 without success. King KIA then requested assistance from regional technical assistance. KIA Motors sent Field Technical Service (FTS) representatives to King KIA to check out my vehicle and the SiriusXM radio issue. The FTS technicians test drove the vehicle for 15 minutes, reproduced the problem, and then stated that this is normal operation from signal being blocked. When I realized King KIA might not have the expertise to fix the problem, I called SiriusXM Customer Service for help and forwarded more radio-failure pictures to them. Sirius Customer Service stated that the problem was probably the antenna or the Sirius Radio itself. After several calls and emails with Sirius Customer Service, they elevated the issue to their Technical Department. The SiriusXM Senior Director of Repeater Operations, Mr. Russell **, called me to discuss the problems that I was having with my SiriusXM radio and to offer his assistance. He said his office is located in DC and is near the route I travel to work at the Washington Navy Yard, in D.C. He stated that none of his employees, most of whom have SiriusXM radios, have experienced this problem, and some of them drive a similar route that I drive from Germantown. The director also sent me an email stating that the SiriusXM technical team had tested the route that I drive from Germantown, Maryland to the Washington Navy Yard and found no reception problems, signal outages or interferences. I contacted KIA Consumer Affairs and forwarded more pictures and asked for the KIA final report. Ms. Britney ** of this office stated that KIA would not send the final report without a request from a Lawyer. At this point I decided that I would obtain legal help, so I retained the Law Offices of Karpel, Link & Caporaletti, of Rockville, Maryland through my legal assistance plan offered by my employer, BAE Systems. With legal help it appeared that KIA Motors was willing to consider the Lemon Law and asked What is your clients demand? My lawyer replied that I wanted them to fix the radio issue or replace the vehicle with one with a working SiriusXM radio. My lawyer asked that KIA Motors provide the KIA final report that they would not provide directly to me. Not long after that KIA Motors stated that the issue was elevated to upper management, who determined that compensation would being denied at this time. They still did not forward the KIA final report. KIA Motors last email to my lawyer stated that they feel this is normal operating based on the area that I live. This email also referenced the very first invoice from King KIA of Gaithersburg (Ro# **) of 12 December 2015. This was the first time the mechanics had looked at my vehicle concerning the SiriusXM radio issue, where they found (incorrectly) that the signal fades only on 2 stations. The final email from KIA Motors also stated my radio performance is normal based on reception from the different radio stations. KIA motors forwarded pages from an Owners Manual that explains the process of AM & FM (not satellite) radio reception. Note that my vehicle does not experience any problems with the AM & FM station, only the satellite stations. It appears that KIA Motors has ignored all of the evidence that my lawyer and I have provided. I feel that KIA Motors has not read the emails or examined the photos I had provided, or they believe the little guy will eventually go away. The following is some of the evidence that we have provided to KIA Motors. 1) The signal does not fade, it is completely lost with a NO SIGNAL or WEAK indication on the radio front panel as we have proven with the many photos. Note that I have over 200 similar pictures saved on my iPhone if needed for proof of times and locations of the signal loses. 2) The signal is not lost on only 2 stations. It is lost on every satellite station I listen to and everywhere I drive as shown in the photos. 3) SiriusXM radio is not operating normally in my vehicle since it does not happen in other vehicles. For example, it doesnt happen in my car pool members two cars, who has provided a written statement. It didnt happen in the 3 or 4 different KIA loaner vehicles I used when my vehicle was in the shop at King KIA. And, it has not been reported as an issue by any of the many employees at the SiriusXM offices in DC with SiriusXM radios in their cars.4) This SiriusXM radio signal loss is not due to the area I live or drive, and is not being blocked or interfered with. This is based on emails I have received from SiriusXM Customer Service, and from the SiriusXM Senior Director of Repeater Operations and was forwarded to KIA Motors via my lawyer. 5) The King KIA service manager, Mr. Bill **, believes there is an issue with my SiriusXM radio reception, but is unwilling to say it is due to either the equipment or the installation in my vehicle, since his service department has tried everything they know of to fix the problem. After the last KIA Motors communication with my lawyer, my lawyer has declined to support my case any longer, and suggested that I file my complaint with the Better Business Bureau and/or Montgomery County Consumer Affairs. My suspicion of this terminated legal service is that the legal service offered through my company doesnt pay the lawyers their normal fees, and they consider my case not worthy of their efforts.

I purchased an 09 Borrego in January. About 3 weeks after I got it, it just dies when I was rolling to a stop. I thought, Maybe I just didnt give it enough gas. Weird, who knows? Then it happened again in a drive-thru, a few times at a stop light, chugged while I was going uphill and downhill and died while I was driving on I-25. I was nearly plowed by numerous vehicles (More than one person in my family experienced this while driving). So, we took it in. The dealership acted like I was out of my mind. Drove the car for a few hundred miles and called and told me they couldnt get it to act up. I explained, at length, that nothing happened before it died or after so there was nothing they could do to replicate the problem. They had us pick it up. My husband drove the Borrego home on back roads as our daughter was following him and she doesnt drive in traffic. They never drove over 45 mph. The next day, I drove to work. Halfway there, the SUV starts shimmying. I drove back roads home. My husband figured it might be me feeling it more because I had been driving another car. SO, we hopped in and started driving. About 15 miles down the road, the Borrego shook too hard to proceed. My son switched vehicles with us and when he was backing the Borrego in - shocker- IT DIED. So, back o the dealer it went. They said the shaking was from mud on the tire assemblies (I found out in this convo that the mechanic had driven it hard over bumpy roads to see if it was a wiring issue). Again, they acted like I was nuts, but gave me a borrower car. They offered to clean wires to the ECM and give it back, but cannot explain why it dies. I refused to take it back. They had an engineer from Kia out and offered to put a special computer on it so the next time it does it, they can tell why. All that has to happen is for someone to drive the thing and pray they dont get killed the next time it happens. They told me nobody had heard of the problem before, yet I found complaint upon complaint about this happening in Borregos and various other Kia models. So, then today I get a call from the service manager at the dealership. He asked to drive my car over the weekend (I hesitate to let them drive all over as I had to pay a lot of money for a mileage limited warranty which they are eating away at the mileage of). Little did I know until I got a call from the dealership manager that the service guy was planning to drive the Borrego all the way to Kansas (a state and numerous hundreds of miles away). The manager then informed me that to trade out of the Borrego, I would need several thousand dollars down because of the length of time in this vehicle and the depreciated value! I have had the POS 5 months! He told me he remembered me having to roll negative equity into the loan on the Borrego - huge joke - I didnt trade anything in on it! I was asked if it had lights flicker before it died, um-NO and I would have said so. Did it happen while braking? Again - NO and I would have said so. Bottom line, Kia has several models that die without warning and nobody seems to know how to fix it. It is dangerous. My husband asked the dealership manager how hed feel putting his loved ones in this vehicle knowing the car could stop running and someone could be killed? His response was Of course I wouldnt want to. Why would you even go there and say something like that? Well, KIA and dealership, wed ask because we face it every time we get into the defective vehicle you manufactured!

Recently our daughter left the overhead and parking lights on overnight, draining the battery. Normally that would not have been a big deal. However, the car was parked in a carport and COULD NOT be moved out of it to get a jump start because the car could NOT be taken out of Park into Neutral!!! It took about a dozen calls to find a service station that had a portable jump system to come out and get the 2014 Kia Sorento started, causing my wife to miss a doctors appointment.

So, this is the newest car Ive ever owned. Being 22, I finally established enough credit to buy a nicer car for myself! Yay! Ive only had my Rio for about six months. Its a 2013, so theres still a warranty left. Smooth sailing until my baby took a turn for the worst. My engine started making a knocking noise and I broke down 40 miles from home. Panicking, I wasnt sure what to do (as Ive never dealt with warranty issues). I then looked into my owners manual to see that I have roadside assistance! They stayed on the line with me, asked me if I was okay, and asked me if I had a way home (which I did). Eventually they towed the car to the nearest dealership. The dealership called me the next day letting me know that the engine had blown. My heart literally sank into the ground. He said he would put in a claim to Kia to fix up my little red car. I called everyday for a week, and the service manager hadnt heard anything back. So finally I called into corporate to see what was going on. They told me that they had trainees in the department that handles those things that were just getting the hang of things there and apologized for my wait. The next day I hear back from the service manager of my local dealership telling me that Kia approved my warranty claim because my car was well maintained, that I can pick up my rental car, and my Kia is getting fixed this week! Although having no car for week was kind of inconvenient, I understand that customer service can be kinda rough sometimes, especially with trainees. All in all Im happy that Kia took care of me. Thanks Kia! :)

I bought a 2011 Kia Rio5 in the spring of 2011 from Kia Sudbury. Since then Ive had nothing but horror from the vehicle and nothing but the same problem over and over again. I spent 24.000 and the car is breaking from new to now with the same continuous problems. Ive had the mechanic at Sudbury Kia dent my car while being serviced and they denied it. Sudbury Kia does not sell the tires for the Car they sold me. They also do not offer wheel alignments which is sad when you want your winter tires out in or your alignment set after they do the inner barring 3 times on the same tire. Even after an alignment at Fountain Tire in Sudbury, My 2011 Kia Rio5 has blown 6 coil packs and a cylinder update from 30000 and till now. New radio 2 weeks after buying the car. Because the button paint cracked all over the deck Ive had the same cobweb in my rpm gauge because Kia Sudbury didnt want to take the dash apart after me just buying the car and noticing it shortly after. My inner barring has blown 3 times on the front passenger side of the car. The car wont stay aligned. Ive had Sudbury Kia Fix the lights in the interior of the car and got oil all over the roof and didnt install the right light and broke the other one and now it hangs there only because the guy couldnt put the light back into the ceiling of the car. The back latch on the car locked up because of a piece of foam Kia seals the back lock with. The foam breaks after a while and gets stuck in the door, leaving you without a rear door.If you boost the car it blows the fuses for the radio and lights, it doesnt start in the cold and if you turn the key every 20 seconds when it doesnt start it will eventually start. When that happened I brought my car to Kia Sudbury and they couldnt help me unless my car didnt start, which it didnt thats why I was bringing it to them, but no help at all. The car is no good on gas. If youre on the highway, the 4th gear stays on too long which leaves you burning gas a lot, the car now is almost finished at 115000. The car is not good and unreliable and costly. Kia damaged my car and didnt help me at all with getting to what was the problem. They just covered it up. My car is now a really loud, misfiring riding pop can that costs a lot.

On Wednesday, October 31, my Kia Picanto broke down. It was towed to Kia in Alberton (arrived 09:30). I had called Bennie and arranged. He said they might not have a chance to look at it the same day, which I understood. The following day (Thursday, around 15:00) I had to call Bennie back to find out what was happening with my car. He told me they were stripping it and they were suspecting the crankshaft. The following day (Friday, around 15:00), I had to call back! Now Bennie was on leave. I asked to speak to the principal as I was not happy with the service. No one was getting back to me and now my car is standing while hes on leave? I spoke to Jaco, who promised he would find out and call me back. Paul called me back. They were putting in the warranty claim and I would have an answer by Monday. I asked for a loan car and Paul said I should contact Kia SA. Monday I contacted Kia SA as I still have had no call from Alberton. I asked for a loan car and told Jessica about my issues. Jessica said its up to the dealer to provide a loan car. She will call me back. Tuesday Sean called me and said they sent my claim on Monday. I then called Kia SA and spoke to Brendon. Both Jessica and Brendon have not returned the calls!

While vacationing, the engine on my KIA blew with no warning. No pre-warning engine light, just a complete engine fail. Fortunately it was under warranty, so the repairs will be at no cost to me. Also, I had the good fortune to be sent to a phenomenal service/dealer, Youngblood KIA in Springfield, MO, theyve been fantastic!! Unfortunately, the only thing KIA customer service has been able to provide is the runaround. My son and I have contacted Consumer Affairs multiple times and each time I receive a different answer/response. First the rental is approved, then the rental is in question, then they dont know what to tell me, oy vey!! All Im asking is for them to stand by their customer, who had to leave the car 7.5 hours from home. Im requesting a rental and a reunite of my vehicle once prepared. You would think this would be easy, wrong. If this is the type of customer service I receive on a warranty repair, I will NEVER buy another KIA vehicle. In addition, I will tell everyone I know about this experience so the buyer is aware of what they may be getting into. For the record, the service/dealership in Springfield, MO is paying for my rental in Ohio... That is how you serve your customer. I may have to purchase all of my vehicles from them going forward, theyve already acknowledged that theyll ship a purchased vehicle to Ohio.

I inherited my parents 2003 Kia Spectra. I was driving it on the freeway when all of a sudden the right rear tire froze up causing me to have to pull over to the small shoulder in the inside lane. I immediately put on my hazards as I was still halfway in the lane. I turned the car off then back on again. I was then able to continue on to my destination. When I got into the car again to go home, it seemed to run fine. Then when almost home it did it again. I was luckily close to a Les Schwab who said it was my brake lining, which had broken in half. They said that it has been happening to 2003 to 2005 Kias, they had three just last week. I have heard of no recall for this problem, but something needs to be done about this before someone is killed. I have to have them repaired, which cost me $270.

I cant believe all these people have had the same issue regarding their motor blown. I have a Kia Soul (2010) at 50,000 miles. Motor burnt up right in front of my eyes! No engine light, no oil light just pop... done! And as I read on and on, I see this is a very common issue. Dealerships are refusing to admit Kia has an issue with this and manufacturer refusing to pay under warranty. This is a class action lawsuit if I ever saw one! I am copying all of these complaints and if someone has already started one let me know. If not, Im on my way to do so. Enough is enough, email me with your story and we will need evidence so make sure you have all paperwork.

On 10/12/2021, I brought my 08 Kia Sedona EX with 181k miles in for a Oil Change at Plaza KIA, Brooklyn NY. And was returned to me with the Oil Pressure light on dashboard followed by the Check Engine light. The mechanic saw the dashboards lights on while backing out the garage and tried to reset them, but to no avail. The Service Manager ran over claiming the mechanic done nothing wrong. Although, my vehicle didnt go in with these lights on. Kia claims no fault and blames the age of the vehicle. The Service Manager went on to state that they gave me a free diagnostic worth $129 and concluded that the Oil Sensor is the problem. And, that this repair and labor is a consumer purchase. The Mechanic attempted to inspect and troubleshoot this issue and was stopped by the Service Manager. I found this to be appalling and upsetting that my vehicle drove in to KIA fine and came out needing repair work that I have to pay for? Took vehicle to a independent shop nearby, They did inspection and found, 1) The Oil Sensor was not the issue and think its the Oil Pump... 2) KIA put 5W-30 Oil in instead of 10W-40 Oil for such a high mileage vehicle, stating 5W-30 is like water and best when vehicle was new... 3) That I should stop driving the vehicle immediately before the engine eats itself from low oil pressure. So, I called corporate, they claim no fault, wont take any steps or actions to resolve this issue, and asked that I no longer come to them for service. To me, this look like mechanical neglect and attempted cover up by KIA. So, So Upset. Buyer Beware!!!

My car has 52k miles and for some reason, the engine light came on one morning. I was driving to work and I was only a few blocks away from home so I return and asked my roommate if I can use his car to go to work while I take my KIA to the KIA service department. When I picked up my car, they told me the cars computer just needed an upgrade. I thought it was weird but I was happy it wasnt something worse. I automatically noticed a huge, I mean huge, drop in mpg. I bought the car because it was supposed to be good on mileage, otherwise I would have bought a Prius which was my other choice. I took it back the next day and they checked it and they said that they found nothing wrong. I was really upset. They gave me a pamphlet that I should read to show me how to get better gas mileage; I was really pissed. I know how to get the best gas mileage out of my car and I do regular oil changes using synthetic - nothing but the best and regular air filter changes everything. I went from getting between 33-37 mpg to 25-28. I am a very upset KIA own. I dont know what else to do.

KIA agreed to fix my car which is presumably under warranty. We agreed that they will cover the parts and I will cover the labor at $1,250. After doing the repairs, they are now saying that they will not honor the warranty! This is on top of the disappointment I have had with KIA. I still owe $1,661 on the vehicle and I am so frustrated that they are pulling this! I would have never agreed to having them repair the car, had they not agreed to honor the warranty, as I had a mechanic who is willing to do it at a much more reasonable cost!KIA is a rip off. They are crooks and are not trustworthy! My lawyer will be handling the matter from today; however, this still leaves me without transportation! Today, I will drop one of my classes that require me to travel to a distant campus for lack of transportation. I will most likely lose my job. And in the meantime, my car will sit at the KIA dealership because KIA will not honor the agreement they had with me! Shame, shame, I know your name! The magnet I just ordered to place on my car is in the shape of a lemon and it reads: Ask Me About My Lemon. Its a KIA, dude! Although it will be a while before I am able to drive my 2006 KIA Rio again, I will proudly sport it around town with my new bright yellow accessory added to its both sides. Never would I ever recommend a KIA to anyone I meet! I will tell everyone I know to never ever consider owning a KIA! Lets boycott KIA! I will post on my Facebook account and in other sites, put signs in my yard and give bumper stickers to all of my friends--whatever it takes to make people aware!

This review is specific to Kias roadside service. Ive been very happy with my Kia vehicle. When I found myself needing a tow on a weekend night, Triple A phone wait times were 30+ minutes, but Kias roadside service responded right away. Apparently my policy had expired, but I said that I was willing to pay so that we could expedite this process and get me to a shop before it closed. At this time it was a bit before 7pm and the service center closed at 9pm, so I figured this wouldnt be a problem. Oh, how young and naive I was.First of all, after I hung up the phone with the representative, it took over an hour for some reason just for the Kia dispatch service to connect me with a towing service. I contacted an agent twice through the online chat system during this time and was both times given some generic message about how theyre working as fast as they can and your service is very important to us. Id like to add that Im in a major city, so its not like theres a shortage of tow companies around. THEN when they finally assigned me a tow company, I was told that my ETA for the tow truck to arrive was 45-60 minutes. Well, wouldnt you know it -- an hour goes by, and still no tow truck. This time I reach out to the tow truck company directly. He tells me that the driver got tied up with other tows but is now -- only just now! -- on his way over to me. Another hour goes by. Still no tow truck. Seattles big, but not that big. At this point the Kia service center is very, very closed. It takes another half hour just for the tow truck to arrive. During this time, Kia roadside assistance checks in a couple times -- once through a phone representative, and twice by text -- but each time when I tell them the tow truck still hasnt arrived, all they do is offer banal apologies and tell me my service matters. I understand that Kia roadside assistance only had so much control over the terrible tow truck company I was assigned. However, ultimately I ended up waiting over three and a half hours just for a simple tow job -- in the dark, by myself, in a part of town I didnt know well -- and Kia did nothing to help with this aside from offer meaningless phrases. No apology discount on service at their center, no attempt to find a faster tow service, nothing. Ill just stick with triple A next time; despite the initial long wait to speak with an agent, Ive never had such a ridiculous experience actually getting service from them.

I arrived to Kia at 8 am on Saturday 2-18/17 because my car was making noises when I pressed on the brakes. After 2 hours the rep came to the waiting room to speak to another customer and when finished he yelled across the room at me maam your car probably needs brakes then walked off...duh. I told them that when I got there. After another 30 min the same guy came to me stating my car needed brakes and they dont have them and it will be a few days before they can get them. My options are 1. drive away and come back in a few days to have my brakes changed and try not to drive too much because if additional parts go bad I will have to pay a lot more and they may not have all the parts...they really told me that. 2. Pay for a rental car until the parts come in and they can get replaced. They refused to get me a liner at no fee. 3. They could order some brakes from the auto parts store nearby and use them, but they may be noisy and not last. Wtf. I drive a Kia Sorento 2014, I come to KIA to get KIA parts. I was told the front bumper was replaced before I bought pre-owned. Within a month the paint bubbled and peeled. Bolts were not put in and I am now being told I ran over something and that is why the bolts are missing. I took it back when something rattled and fell off and was shown that a piece of the bottom panel was ripped off. This happened on the freeway after the rattling started about three miles before. I told them they did not replace the bolts when they took the bumper off to paint. They insist I ran over something but only the bolts on both sides are missing. I noticed the front bumper stuck out in spots after I bought it so I know that it was never bolted properly from the beginning. They are saying that if I dont pay to replace the bottom panels they will not allow my warranty if something breaks and the paint is now peeling and bubbling AGAIN. Kia brand vehicle has to many mechanical issues, especially if the car is used. Those made before 2017 all have the same issues, and are NOT recommended as a good car in Consumer Report magazine. The 2 wheel drive models are too loose on the road and difficult to control. I actually had to change the way I drove since I always had a 4 wheel drive previously to my Kia purchase. The car is light despite its size and in a strong wind will move across the road so you have to fight to keep control or weigh down the back of the vehicle with sand or Kitty Liter in the back trunk.

Went in for routine maintenance and came out with issues with my tires, when I did not ask them to touch the tires. Contacted Destination Kia and they were no help whatsoever. I called four times and Im still waiting for their service manager to call me back (from March). I contacted Kia Corporate by letter. Received a call regarding my letter about 1-1/2 weeks after sending letter. I called the following week and had to leave a message. Ive waited three weeks for a return call and nothing so I called back again. Person handling my case wasnt available so the woman who answered the phone said, I see in the notes that Destination Kia offered you help. I said to her, Ummm, no, they didnt. She said, Well, its here in the notes. So I said, So thats it. Complete silence on her end.So my complaint is that Destination Kia and their corporate office seem to have no regard for their customers safety. I could have been in a very serious accident based on what they did to my car, and all they are concerned about is that they tried to help - WHEN THEY DIDNT. My wife and I bought a used 2012 Kia Sorento in Sept. 2015 with a 2.4 liter and a GDI engine. Well this past sunday Oct. 2nd 2016 the Sorento was making loud metal noises in the engine and while driving it stalled. I pulled over and sat for a little while and started it up again and drove it to my inlaws. The next day oct. 3rd I drove it to Kia Horne here in Gilbert AZ. They looked at it and told me that there is a LOT of slug it the engine and metal noise in the lower part of the engine. They told me that it was able to be fixed and I would have to spend 6900 for a new used engine. The next day I told Kia Horne that I would produce the oil change documents for the past year. I was able to get 4 receipts but not the 5th one even though I knew I had received 5 oil changes within the past year. Well its been a week and my extended 100,000 mile warranty will not cover the repairs also because of the slug. The Sorento is at 85,000 mile at this moment. I found that there is a lawsuit against Kia for producing engine that were manufactured wrong and still sold knowing this. The Claim states that the Theta 2 liter and the 2.4 liter GDI engines contains defects that cause a restriction of oil flow through the connecting rod bearings and other parts of the engine. The claim also states that the defect causes stalling and complete engine failure at any time, including while driving, making the problem a serious safety hazard. The lawsuit claims not only did Kia conceal that the engines are prone to failure, but the automaker concealed the defect from consumers to keep selling the vehicles. The reason why I am leaving this information/review is to see what more can I do to get my car fixed by Kia and or join the lawsuit or start my own in Gilbert AZ.

I bought a used 05 Amanti with 66K miles - one previous owner. My first problem was at only three of my own miles, it has gone through the same coil pack every month. It has sudden acceleration requiring neutral to avoid an accident. It sometimes refuses to accelerate. It eats batteries and now it has severe handling issues. I have owned cars with 174K miles that ran better than this lemon. It is parked till paid off when I will sell it for scrap. Save yourself headaches - do not buy Kia or Hyundai (Kia is owned by Hyundai). Kia corporate has been unable to duplicate the problem. I contacted a lemon law lawyer who told me since I bought it used I had no legal recourse. Safecar.gov has tons of complaints about Amantis with the same issues I have.

I purchased a 2018 Kia Stinger the end of June 2018 and have had nothing but grief since the purchase. Presently the car has 3200 miles on it and has been in the garage multiple times. Ive made several trips to the dealer for a trunk rattle in which they had to put shims in the slam block in the hatch to resolve the problem. Then it was back in the garage because the interior lights quit working. And several weeks ago I backed it out of the garage and shut the car off for a brief time waiting for my husband to get into the car and when he went to start the car all the lights started flashing and the car would not start and the car would not recognize that the key fob was present. I immediately called the Kia dealer and the service manager went home for the evening and no techs available but was advised to have the car towed to Kia or call roadside assistance. This episode caused us to be late for an appointment. To make a long story short the battery had to be replaced the next day interfering with plans that were made for the day. Today my car is @ the dealership once AGAIN for them to monitor a violent jerk in the car which has occurred several times and was told the fuel pump will probably need replaced! They will be keeping the car for several days. Id like to note that I have to drive 35 miles one way to the Kia dealership. A new car is suppose to be a pleasurable satisfying experience and an investment in my hard earned money. This experience of owning my first Kia has been a nightmare causing me inconvenience, stress and grief. I regret the purchase and it was not a cheap purchase. No vehicle with this amount of mileage should have so many issues like I have had. Im making payments on a car that sits in a garage being repaired every month. I often wonder how much this unreliable car will cost me in the future when warranty runs out. Id like to note on the positive side that Kias service department has been awesome through this ordeal and has expressed concern and understanding with my frustrations and their customer service at Team Kia in Johnstown, Pa. is first class.

I purchase a 2016 Kia Sorento. Ever since day one I have safety recall issues which none of the Kia dealerships can fix it, GAS PEDAL, AIR CONDITION, BACK DOOR, SEAT BELT, BRAKES etc. I have contact Kia corporation, they are a JOKE. They never return calls so now Im doing everything I can to let all know how this crocks operate. They just sell you the vehicle and just deal with the problems yourself. I have report them to the BBB, Department of Justice and DMV, investigators do all the same together, will make a difference. Lets all report this crooks to all this departments to put them out of business.

We purchased a 2008 Kia Rio for our son to use before he graduated high school. In the 3 1/2 years since it has, it barely had 30k miles on it. Our son reported while driving it 2 weeks ago, that it jolted and he thought he had a blowout, but upon checking it, the tires were good. However, the right front wheel was free to float forward and backward in the wheel well. The Kia technician was quick to advise us that the person we had who welded the control arm did a poor job and it broke. He was immediately advised that the car was purchased new and other than oil changes, it has never been mechanically worked on. The service manager said they would submit it for warranty approval. Two days later, it was denied and we were informed that the operator hit something and broke the control arm. What happened to the expert opinion stating a bad welding job to breakage caused by damage? This isnt my first time around the block and I know when smoke is being blown up my shorts. The denial came from a supposed Kia rep. The Albuquerque Kia ran me around for a week to even get this information from them and would not follow up on information leaving me to them. One of their people even had the ignorance to even say aw boo! What was that supposed to mean? But they have my car and I understand what a mechanics lean is.
