2011 Optima - We purchased this vehicle brand new 20 months ago at Big Red in Norman. No problems until approx. Jan/Feb, the engine started making bad noises. I took it to Big Red service dept. They treated us like we were idiots and they didnt hear anything. I took it back as it progressively got worse, only to be told they didnt know what the noise was but they could not fix it and sent us away. We traveled to Bob Howard Kia in Edmond, OK and wasted two weekends only to be sent away and told we never changed the oil! Its ridiculously disrespectful to us to assume we didnt take care of this brand new vehicle! We each have brand new cars and trucks in this family and each one of us care 100% for each vehicle. On time oil changes, all maintenance, etc! Finally, service manager, Todd **, said, Prove you did oil changes! Bring receipts! We spent a full week collecting as many receipts as humanly possibly! I drove back to Kia Edmond to show to service manager, Todd **, only to be told after another wasted day of waiting and given the runaround, at last he said, Oh but they didnt use Kia filters. Sorry, now I cannot help you! Nowhere does any document you sign buying a brand new car does it indicate you have to use a Kia filter only! This service manager was making things up as he went along to us! Very upset. Now, the car cannot even be driven! We need help ASAP or comments on what to do now? I contacted every single Oklahoma State Organization I could think of and Kia Edmond online several times and still not one phone call or email. Sad, sad, sad to drive a 10-year warranty vehicle along with extended warranty only to be turned down or totally ignored at every turn.

My daughter was in an accident 2/6/2013. She was hit on the front driver side twice. The airbags did not deploy. I bought my car in 2010 and I havent had any problems with it. I want to know why the bags did not deploy? Is there any recourse? Do you sue the Kia Motor Dealers? As of right now, I dont know if my car is totaled or not. What do you do when the car you are driving does not operate properly? My daughter is 8 1/2 months pregnant. This could have been really serious for her. She was hurt on her left side only where she was wearing her seat belt.

I just wanted to share my story. We bought a 2014 Kia. Shortly after my purchase I discovered I was charged $2100 extra for a service contract (100000 mile warranty). We put a large sum down on the car and would have only owed around $6000. When I checked my paperwork turned out I owed $8000. The dealer had charged me for an extended warranty that I didnt want. So I had to return in person to Cancel after almost two months - the dealer finally sent Kia finance a check for $2100 dollars. So I called Kia finance and ask them to adjust my payments - didnt owe as much money on the car and they told me they would not redo the payments because I agreed to the original payment. I had never heard of anything so asinine in my whole life. Turns out we had to get the car refinanced to lower the payment. What a bunch of rude jerks. They wanted me to pay the same payment on a lower balance!

2014 KIA CADENZA. I have been a Kia owner for the past 10 yrs. I previously owned the AMANTI that I loved very very much, until the very end when I decided to trade in for a new Cadenza. But I seem to have a internal noise problem with the cadenza. I noticed the clicking noise about 200 mile. I took it to the dealer, however they said could not find a problem. I returned again after 300 miles, still with the problem. The sales manager advised me to wait until after 500 miles to open a case with Kia. I returned the auto after 900 miles, they looked into it. On Nov 13th 2014 they wrote the following on the work order PIT STOP P5282 SIDE CENTER OF SUNROOF, NOISE COMING FROM LOOSE SCREWS HOLDING SUNROOF CURTAIN IN PLACE: 85310R00 3.2 HEADLINER BAR, 81651 - 3R500... FAILED PART, RE-SECURED AND PREFORMED PIT STOP FOR RATTLE. Well after month later the problem return, I wrote an email complaining to dealer that noise appears to have return. On 01/06/15 I took the car back to the dealership for the same noise. The dealership found no problem and wrote the following: TEST DROVE CAR WITH TECHNICIAN FOR 7 MILES OVER VARIOUS ROAD SURFACES AND OVER BUMPS COULD NOT DUPLICATE PROBLEM, NO PROBLEM FOUND. Problem still exist. The dealership indicated that they drove the car for over 7 miles and found no problem, however I had noted the mileage on the car and found that the car had only been driven under a mile. I filed a complaint sales manager at the dealership, which the service manager admitted that they did not drive the car only around the block. I preceded to file a compliant with Kia customer service and meet with the District Manger. It took about 2 weeks to confirm the meeting at the dealership. I finally met with DM who drove with me and agree there was a problem. It took over 2 more weeks to schedule a repair date. On 3/25/15, Once again I returned the car to the dealership and they found a problem. Stating the following: C/S noise coming from roof of vehicle near the roof. Please check and advise. Effective part # 81630R500. Found edge of sunroof plate bolts were over torqued causing rail to sit improperly in track adjusted to Kia specs and road tested with technician and Kia DSPN, adjusted sunroof plates, no noise present at this time.Once again the noise has come back and even worst, metal bouncing inside of sunroof. I stop by the dealership on 4/14 and talked to the service manger, which rode with me and agreed there was a noise. He preceded to advise me that he would contact the DM of Kia and call me when arrangement made. On 4/16/15 the service manager called stating still waiting on DM call back. On April 22, he contacted me stating which day early next week was good. On April 24th contact SM and advised him that on April 28th at 10 am would be fine to meet with the SM and DM. To my surprise, the DM was not present. I advised the SM to contact me when the DM would show up so that I was involved in the loop. However, that did not occur. On 4/29 the service manger advised me by phone that no problem was found. I have requested once again to meet with the DM and take the service manager and District Kia manager on a ride, so they understand the noise factor. I have requested to meet the DM through the Kia customer service and Service manger at the dealer, once again review the problem and take test drive with me present. Still waiting for a response as of 5/1/15. I am extremely unhappy with the noise of this cadenza, most passenger hear the noise. Now the dealer is sending messages that I need to return the loaner car, because KIA is not going to pay for the use of the loaner. So now they are threatening me with billing my credit car for a dealer loaner. I have not heard from KIa regarding this matter as of yet. Frankly I am beginning to dislike the fact that I purchased this cadenza, though I was extremely happy with my KIA AMANTI. CASE # **. One of the solutions has been to have the sunroof completely changed according to other kia cadenza owners who have experienced the same situation.

I bought a Kia with 0 miles driving off the lot. I unfortunately have been required to get two new axles, but the issue persist (maybe another broken axle now; becoming three), several new tires, which according to Kia, werent covered under the warranty, or were not the direct result of my axle(s) being broken two (probably three) different times. For life of me I cannot understand this but okay. This is all in addition to my breaks being shot at 37000 miles. So now aside from a large monthly payment Ive had to spend $3,000 on a car that is supposedly covered by a full warranty. This goes without saying my backup camera has broken two different times as well as the really cool feature of my mirrors going in while the car is locked has also broken three different times. After being tired of getting my car misdiagnosed at a Kia dealership I brought to a third party place. The third party told me for a car that has 37,000 miles on it I should not be having these issues. I talk to Kia and some of the representative seem to care while other Representatives not so much. If I could give some advice it is to never buy a Kia or anything that has to do with Kia. As a Kia customer I cannot tell you how dissatisfied I am and I will never buy a Kia again. Indeed, the one thing I do when I meet new people is to tell them to never buy a Kia because Kia is the worst company ever. Dont buy a Kia.

I purchased a new 2011 Sorento against my better judgment, knowing a first year production is always problem prone. But I have had purchased many Hyundais in the past, and was used to great service, and knowing its the same company, I expected the same quality (WRONG). Coleman Kia in Ewing NJ has the most lying area manager and service department in the nation. They charge repairs to Kia, that they never repair, or even look at. Case at point: Ive had a bad door rattle in the passenger side door since purchase. Ive had the vehicle in for service for 5 times and the repair was charged but never done. The last time, I placed tape under the door to know rather, or not the door panel was opened. And guess what the service manager stated? The door was repaired but the tape was never touched. Enough said. Never, ever, again, would I ever purchase another Kia. My door still annoying like a rattle snake. But how does Kia allow itself to be continued to be ripped off. I would like to still have my door repaired, only 40,000 miles.

Returning home from Military School my Kia Niro broke down. Waited 5 hours in 6 degree weather to get my car towed on a Sunday. Closest Kia Dealer closed and no car rentals close. They offered no option. I Ubered to the airport. Got a rental to finish the remaining 7 hours of a 13 hour trip. Exhausted. Hungry. Once home began the work of what’s wrong with my car, getting the rental paid and how do I get it back. It took TWO MONTHS to get my car back. The diagnosis? Manufacturer error and no specific reasoning why my car suffered a break down no one could figure out until a technician was finally sent out to take a look. Couldn’t figure it out so just did a ‘hard reset’ and then it was fixed. No idea what the problem was though AND THEN it had physical body damage and before I drove it off the lot, called Mr. Charles ** (case representative) to figure out how to rectify this. Said there’s nothing he can do. His job is to reunite me with the car not the quality of service done on the vehicle. I am abhorred with how I’ve been treated every step of the way. The reliability of KIA CONSUMER OVERALL is not even worth 1 star. My car is not reliable and neither is Kia’s customer service. Save yourself the two months of heartache I just went through and hundreds of dollars out of pocket I won’t be reimbursed.

I am a dissatisfied owner of a 2014 Kia Soul. July 4, 2015 I purchased a used 2014 Kia Soul with 4200 miles on it. June 2017 the engine blew up with 62261 miles on it. At this time I found out that there is NOT a 100000-mile powertrain warranty because I am the second owner. They dont tell you that when you buy it. I contacted Kia warranty service to submit my claim. Long story short, Kia not covering engine replacement because it is out of second owner power train warranty. I Had to pay to install a new long block engine into the Soul at the Kia dealership. $4322.00 for the engine and installation. Kia could not tell me what the mileage was when the Soul went into Service but only the date. According to Kia warranty, the second owner is 5 year 60,000 mile warranty from day and current mileage. So if my Soul had 2262 miles on it when it went into service, then my warranty would be to 62262 miles. Kia did not want to even talk about this. Just basically said, Sorry for your bad luck. Next I was told to file an complaint and I will be doing just that. It was determined at the dealership the failure was due to a blown head gasket which in turn allowed engine coolant to get into the #2 cylinder which caused the engine to lock up. Also the engine was free of any oil sludge and nothing was found to be neglected as far as maintenance. An engine head gasket should not blow on a well-maintained engine. Funny thing at the dealership when my engine arrived from their distribution center, I was told I was 4th in line to have an engine installed. Gee. Sounds like Kia has an engine failure problem. Guess they are not paying for anyones repairs!!! Poor customer satisfaction. Oh and Scott who I spoke with from Kia about the warranty, if you read this, this is not the way life is, consumers should not have to worry about their engine failing and be without a ride to work for 6 weeks and have to deal with arrogant warranty customer service person. My son has a Nissan with 145000 miles and it has only been to dealership for regular scheduled maintenance. Guess I will need to trade this Kia on a Nissan.

I bought a new 2011 Kia Sorento. I have always had a problem with the acceleration. It does not happen all the time, but now it is more frequent. I have tried to cross the highway, and when I accelerate, it is as if the car has gone dead. It will not accelerate. It will eventually get gas, and move. This is very scary, since I never know when it is going to happen. I only have 20,000 miles on it. I really wish I had not purchased a Kia. Kia mechanics cannot find the problem. I have changed type of gas, with no help. I feel like I am driving a car waiting for an accident to happen!

Kia reported me late to the credit bureaus five months in a row. I didnt know this until we applied for a home loan. When I found out, I spent the next week on the phone every day. Spoke to many reps and supervisors. I was told that I needed to learn to make my payments and one even threatened to repo my car. I got a copy of my archived bank statements to Prove I made my payments. Two of the months they reported was due to an extension I applied for and they processed the paperwork late. The other months were because they simply lost my payments. Good thing Im a bit internet savvy because I finally located the number to corporate and the name of the CEO. Once I called there, all the sudden the payments were found and my credit cleared within five days. I then requested copies of my payment history to verify that my payments were applied appropriately and they accused me of having litigation going on and got very rude and hung up on me. Corporate is now refusing to let me speak with anyone. I contacted Better Business Bureau and Kia Financial responded to them denying even having an account with me. Now I have to send in a monthly statement to even prove that I have a business relationship with them... If anyone could like the number to corporate, I would be happy to provide. Its time we as consumers make them change how they operate...

My current wife and I purchased a 2011 Kia Optima. We only purchased the car in my wifes name because we were just dating at the time. We would become engaged about 7 months later. We get married, we moved to Texas, I go to the DMV to get the tags changed over. We take great care of our cars. We reach 98K miles. We finally have a true problem with our car. The engine is gone. We need to replace the engine. Kia tells me that we dont have a valid warranty on the car because weve sold the car. I explain to them that we havent sold the car we just moved to a different state. And I registered the car under my name but the title still has my wife on it. Granted when the lady told me that we didnt have a warranty on the car, was very upset and cursed a bit over the phone. After a week of fighting over the phone with Kia and the dealership they decide to honor the warranty. The follow up with the Kia and the dealership has to be some of the worst customer service Ive ever seen in my life. No one called to let me know they received documents from when I sent them. No one called to give me status of on the car. I will NEVER buy another Kia in my life. This is the worst company to ever buy a car from. They will try to give you every excuse of why they cant honor the warranty on your car. STAY AWAY FROM KIA. Its a waste of your time and money.

And as I had a new bank account that I was using for bills, I assumed the payment was coming out of that. I didnt realize I was in arrears until a collector called and threatened me. We have a Kia Borrego that is still under warranty. The vehicle overheated. We stopped immediately and had the vehicle towed to a dealership. The dealership is arguing about warranty coverage, because we may be missing some oil change paperwork. Oil in the vehicle was not an issue when overheating occurred. The last oil change was approximately 500 miles previously. The oil clearly was not an issue when the vehicle overheated. Who can we talk to at Kia to ensure the warranty is covered?

Just wanted to vent in regards to the poor quality of my Rio. I bought it used from my local KIA dealership in February, 2012, and financed on a three year contract. On June 18, 2013, I was driving it in town and it just died on me with no warning. A policeman happened to be going by, and he helped me guide it to the side of the road and stayed with me to direct traffic until a tow truck could arrive. This was a dangerous situation and I am grateful that the policeman was there. I had my car towed to a mechanic my family has used locally for 30 years. The tow truck driver and policeman guessed that it was either a started problem or an alternator; I was shocked when the mechanic called me to report that my engine was gone and I would need to purchase a new one. Specifically, on the mechanics report, it stated that the car has suffered a catastrophic engine failure...cylinder has dropped a valve and there is damage to another cylinder. There was no possible way I could afford to buy a new engine, but a used one was located, which would have cost me $2700 for parts and installation. Being I still owed payments on the car until February, 2015, I knew I could not pay for the car plus the engine replacement. The mechanic volunteered that he hated to see me invest the money into replacing the engine because the car was just not worth it. He recommended I sell it for scrap, perhaps getting $400-$500. Unfortunately, being I was still owing payments on the car, the option of selling it was not an option. At this time, my KIA Rio had 97,000 miles on it. My next step was to contact my local KIA dealership and explain what had happened. I thought it was incredible that the engine had completely failed ~ I had kept up on oil changes and normal maintenance, even paying KIAs service department to replace a disintegrated gear shift four months after purchasing the car! Not once had I been notified that the engine had issues. The dealership did not address the engine dying problem, but rather tried to talk me into trading in the dead car and buying a new(er) one. This would have meant I would have had to add the remaining balance due on my dead car into the amount of my payments on a new(er) car, something I could not possibly afford. KIA did offer to replace my engine with a used one for $2200, $500 less than my mechanic quoted, but by this time I had spoken with friends in the car repair business who agreed that my Rio was not worth fixing. By searching online, I was shocked to read about the same problem other Rio owners had posted. Is this a KIA manufacturing problem? My family have owned many cars, various makes and models, running into high mileage, and have never had an engine completely fail like this. I cannot help but think this is a poorly made car and I do not understand why a recall was never initiated once it became obvious that many customers were losing engines. It makes me sick when I realize I am still responsible for payments on a car sitting dead in my garage. I honestly feel the engine failed through no fault of mine and I am furious that KIA is allowed to continue ignoring such a major concern of Rio owners.

This complaint is specific to Kia Motors Egypt. The vehicle, a 2010 model Cerato, rolled over 4 times and the airbags failed to deploy. The real tire on the passenger side burst, causing the above to occur. Kias website states the following: Ceratos standard safety protection includes dual front and side airbags, plus full length side curtain airbags to enhance the safety of driver and passenger side occupants in the event of a side impact or rollover. A Kia employee, whose name I shall not reveal, stated the following in a response: Kindly be informed that referring to your accident description and the photos you sent, the car rolled over without front impact. The front airbag system doesnt work in rollover accidents as you mentioned. The front airbag system was designed to work in the frontal accidents depending on the front impact circumstances. Kindly refer to the owners manual for non-working cases of front airbag system.

Hi there, I have a Kia Rondo 2014 LX 4cl. that has only 13000km. My fuel consumption is enormous, I cant go under 14,8 l/100km in the city! There is a problem here. Does anyone has the same problem as I do? I think Kia is cheating on us, as they say the average consumption in the city should be around 10.5l/100km. Im definitely very angry. Kia has been condemned before for false information about the fuel consumption on other models. So can anyone with a Kia Rondo 2014 and the same problem contact me? I purchased new 2011 KIA Sorento in May 2010. Immediately, I began having issues with the sunroof vibrating and the fuel cover not opening when pushing the button on the driver door. In one instance, I was completely on empty at a desolate gas station and had to get my two-year-old out of the car seat to have her push the button while I pulled the cover open. In the spring of 2012, the transmission started shifting hard or not shifting at all. When the transmission does not shift out of gears, I shut down the vehicle and restart, at which point the problem goes away for the meantime. I took it to the dealer several times and they did not detect a problem. I was later told by the service writer that another woman did come in with the same issue, but their electronic printout says all was okay when hooking up the car to check electronics. I told them it was most likely an electrical problem, possibly a short, and the service man said that would take them forever to check. Service writer then asked if I would give them all high marks when I receive my visit survey; otherwise, he would get a call for anything but the highest of ratings. I continued to have rough shifting issues and the dashboard does not show the gear when this occurs now. In late summer of 2012, the vehicle would not turn on at all. It was getting a jump start several times a week. I had the two-year-old battery replaced per their request. I still believe the issues stem from something greater. The driver side window is touchy and does not go up at various times. I have been caught by sudden rain several times with the window unable to go up. Beginning in Nov. 2012, the brake would not engage and the push button start wont either. I got to turn it on after three times 60 seconds of holding down brake and push start. I have made multiple phone calls and many visits to the service dept. of the dealership with no resolutions.

My family bought a brand new Kia Sorento from this dealership 7 months ago and it almost took their lives on the highway when the car suddenly stalled and stopped. We had our car towed to the dealership and they told us that the alternator was the problem and that our mechanic had spilt oil into it and it wasnt a warrantable item. We choose to not to believe them and had the car towed out and the alternator inspected and we found out that it was a failed part that they dont make any more for Kias. We sent the alternator to them after they told us to, to show them that they were putting peoples lives in danger and that they should have warrantied it and paid for it but instead they call us and tell us no. Instead of taking care of us they keep spinning this around trying to take advantage of us just so they do not have to pay. Keep your family safe and dont bother buying a car from here. Were not gonna give up. Were gonna make sure to fight this cause this is a crime.

It started on Wednesday Sept 3, 2014, my Kia was lacking its get up and go. I called the dealership and told them that my car was running rough and had a hard time starting but no warning lights. They were able to see me the following Monday. According to the diagnostic test nothing was wrong but that the oil was in rough shape. I told them keep looking. After further review they determined that the fuel pump was bad. They replaced it and I picked it up on Wednesday. I only drove about 2 miles and could tell that the car was still not running right. I called the shop when I got home but they were already closed for the day so I called right away Thursday morning. They got me in right away and called me about 4 hours later letting me know that the Turbo was burnt out and that I needed to show proof of oil changes since I purchased the car (2 1/2 years ago!). I am still fighting this, I cant find all my receipts. I may find myself stuck with a car that only has 38K miles and a payment but not a car that can be driven. What kind of company is Kia? Neither the engine or oil light NEVER came on ---EVER! Yet if I dont find evidence of enough satisfactory oil changes (they say 8) then the warranty is void!! This is crazy --- does anyone have any suggestions. Thanks.

I have requested a extension on my payment due to some personal issues. It was for one month. Kia stated they would send me the documents. They said three days. It was 7 days. I got it and tried to fax it right back to them. Could not get through to any line they had. The paperwork stated a address to send to so I sent by special mail. It arrived 3 days later. 18th. My deadline to have it in was 21st. The tracking number stated the mail was in their post office box 8:52 AM. This was in time for my request. They denied it.They cant process anything in a timely matter so they give me deadlines but then because they are a business that is behind the times they cant get it done. One rep said we only have so many people to process. NOT MY FAULT YOU CANT GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER. But guess who pays the customer. ZERO HELP FROM THIS COMPANY! Warning - dont do business with Kia Motors if you want your blood pressure to remain normal. Good Luck to you if you do!!! Texas mad as hell!

Kia says that I am not entitled to a rebate that has recently been given out for their vehicles, not providing the MPG that was claimed. The sticker of my vehicle claimed 34 highway/28 city, when in actuality, I am getting about 30 highway/25 city with an overall average of about 27 MPG with my driving habits which are conservative. All other Kia Souls are on the list to receive a rebate, but mine is not. Funny thing about it is that I remember thinking that I wasnt receiving the advertised MPG long before all of this became newsworthy. Thanks in advance.

My car, a 2009 Kia Rondo, had the right front wheel bearing go out at 69114 miles. It was replaced. I just had the left front wheel bearing replaced at 75977 miles. I have a problem with this because these should not have been a problem at this low mileage. I feel, as a safety issue, that Kia should repair the back ones also since the bearings were probably installed poorly to begin with. They wont do it.

2003 Kia Sorento - I used our savings money and paid cash for our Kia and it only had 4,000 miles on it. Now, it has 53,000 and it needs a new engine. The wrist pin went out on it. Well I thought we had a warranty on it, 100,000 miles or 10 years. Wrong! They told me my warranty ran out in 2008 and I bought it in 2005. I am so mad about this because I am on disability and I don’t have the money to put a motor in it and I think it shouldn’t have needed one anyway. This car still looks brand new inside and out and has been taken care of. So now, I have a beautiful car that’s paid for and doesn’t run! A motor should last longer than 8 years. I love my Kia but I don’t like they wouldn’t do something about it! I will never buy a Kia again. My daughter just bought a 2013 Kia Sorento because she loved mine. I sure hope her engine runs well!

Well today 4/17 I went to start my car and is dead again, unknown why. We called to have Kia to come tow and speak to a sales manager cause the service department was closed as per secretary. She advised speak to a sales manager, left message, didnt get a call back. Called again and was told only one manager and we would have to wait until 4/18 to speak with someone. In the meantime I dont have a car and I have a disabled five year old with health problems and spends a lot of time in the hospital. What am I to do if something happens? Call a cab, better yet. Every month I go to Boston Massachusetts to Boston Childrens hospital. What if this happened going there and I was stuck. This would be a huge health risk. I want a new car. This is ridiculous!!

I was driving in my 2012 Kia Sorento on a beautiful 60 degree last month (November) and my sunroof suddenly exploded. It sounded like someone had shot at me. The glass shattered and fell all over me. Luckily there were no other cars around and I remained calm as possible. I had glass all over me. I had large pieces to tiny shards of glasses in my lap and all over the car. I drove the car to the dealership to find out I was the third one in the last couple of months this has happened to. Upon doing some research on the Internet, this is becoming a Huge concern with 2012-13 Kia Sorentos. This has happened to several people. The dealership had my car for about 3 weeks. Kia did fix it at no cost to me. However, I am very lucky I was not hurt or even dead. This is a problem that needs to be investigated so someone does not get hurt.

So we purchased our Kia Optima Hybrid in 2016. We thought it will be more economical because it would save us money on gas. Well it did but a few months ago our battery died, had to replace that $400!!! Then the Hydraulic Unit had to be replaced spending a good total of $4000 with parts and labor. Now the car is back at the dealer. This time the engine got messed up... We have been given an estimate of $9000 to fix. The warranty we purchased from the dealership only covers $7000 so the rest we have to pay out of pocket... Like WTH. Why? We have been using a rental during this time and still no solution. I swear never again. If youre a 1st owner of the car you might have better luck in getting the car fixed with no issues - unfortunately for us we are second owners so we are screwed. SO DISAPPOINTED.

Which is obvious. AAA & DMV both said financing company needs to do it. Kia refuses to do so. They sent me limited power of attorney for both cars for me to take to DMV to do by myself. Aside that DMV cant accept it. It actually turns out they sent me a power of attorney for someone elses car? Wth!!On top of that they tell me I need to wait another 10-14 business days to wait for it to be corrected. Plus I need to call back Monday, because its Friday evening & the department who issues this forms is closed. I have to call a 5th time to request a new & corrected power of attorney with my correct vehicle information. Plus send a written request for them to send the title to DMV. Which takes 10-14 days for the request. Horrible service & customer service. Worst finance company ever! Who sends out a power attorney to a strangers car. Scary that such information would be released like nothing and take no responsibility for such mistake. Violation of privacy and confidential information.

I own a 2009 Kia Spectra and at 26,800 miles my transmission had to be replaced. At 82,200 miles, the 2nd transmission had to be replaced. This will be the 3rd transmission in 3 years. When I contacted the service manager of Kia of East Syracuse, he told me that headquarters will need to see the receipt for the transmission flush that should have been done at 30,000 miles. I mentioned to the manager that I thought it was at 60,000 miles? He stated that in areas where there are extreme conditions; i.e.; New York, a flush needs to be done every 30,000. I spoke to my mechanic and a number of people who are knowledgeable of automobiles stated that this is preposterous. I reviewed the manual and noticed that a flush wasnt needed until 105,000 miles for an automatic transmission. Secondly, the current transmission technically only has 57,000 miles. Since when do transmissions life expectancy only last less than 60,000? The dealership that I purchased the vehicle at is refusing to cover this under warranty. Headquarters is hemming and hawing about this and I still await their decision. As a result, I continue to be without a vehicle.

I owned a 2016 Sorento. On May 12, 2019 it inexplicably caught fire. It was towed to the dealership where it was purchased and the service department immediately took responsibility after inspection and since it was still under warranty they were about to begin repairs. Later that day, I was called by the Kia corporation in California (I live in Texas) and asked to give my oil change records. I normally dont keep my records and only had a few, but 2 of the last 3 had been at the dealership and the dealership had just done my Texas inspection 3 weeks prior to this. About 4 days later, Kia called and said that they would not cover the cost of repairs because I didnt have enough recorded oil changes. Our insurance couldnt pay because it was also determined by them to be a mechanical defect that was Kias fault. It was not anywhere in my warranty handbook (or any of their handbooks) that I was supposed to keep my records. I asked the lady (Ashley) about that and she said that it was implied. My father in law is a mechanic and sometimes changes our oil and his too. I wasnt sure why that oil changes would even matter if a vehicle caught fire. I am 51 years old and I have paid off and traded in multiple vehicles including 3 Kias. I owed over $9,000 on this Kia which I had to roll into my next car because the repairs were going to be $11,000. (New engine-minimal body damage).I have been blessed that this did not cripple us financially; but if we were younger and still struggling, it could have destroyed us. One of the reasons that I had purchased the Kias was because of the 10 year warranty. I feel that Kia was looking for any way to get out of their responsibility to pay. Kias own service department had already taken responsibility. It is most disheartening that some segments of society have turned to this. Needless to say I will never purchase another Kia again and if you do, be cautious on the warranty. They are not a trustworthy company at the corporate level. Since our incident, I read in consumer reports of over 290,000 other Kias spontaneously catching fire. I will continue my disagreement by bringing a lawyer into it.

We have a 2013 Kia Sorento we bought in 2012. Last year my wife informed me 3 different times that when she would back out into traffic after picking our children up from day care, the SUV would stall. It was inspected by Kia a few times. They were not able to find anything wrong. They took out the electric starter thinking that was the problem and put a new one in. We had no issues until this year when my wife backed out and almost was rear-ended. I went in to Kia and spoke to the manager where we bought the Kia. They informed me that they dont know what the problem is. They are not able to reenact the stalling, so nothing happens. What is frustrating is I called Kia Canada and all they can do for us is Record the issues that I have had, nothing else. What is it going to take, for my wife to back out into traffic and be rear-ended after the Kia stalls? I have a 3 and 7 year olds still in car seats. As a Father and husband, my blood boils to think that they have no idea what is causing this which puts my family in imminent risk. And having a factory warranty that is no good to me? My family is everything to me. I feel trapped as I cannot afford to lose 10 to 12 thousand dollars if I sell. I cannot justify selling the vehicle to someone else as I cannot, nor will be responsible if the vehicle stalls and someone gets hurt or worse, killed. So I pray!!!

With only 22,000 miles on the car, we spent $672.15 for new tires and the dealer would not help, Atlantic Kia (out of bus., selling Kias now) in Pleasantville, NJ 08232. Now with 70,000, it needs tires again and the thumping area is the worst of the 3 tires. Now we will spend $550 for new tires. With that we always get rotation, balancing and front end alignments. We have all receipts but Kia will not call or email back and will not help at all.

Now they called me at 8pm. I have your car. The bodyshop is closed. What would you like me to do with your car, uh hello I dont work for state farm or kia. In January 2008, I bought a 2007 KIA Spectra from Kia Brampton, with a 5-year or 100,000-km. warranty. All went well until December 26, 2012 when the vehicle was at 99,950 km. The oil light started to come on and off. It was towed to KIA Brampton where they declared the vehicle okay but proceeded to empty the oil and place clean oil therein. I was told to return the vehicle every week for check up which I did every week until March when KIA finally confirmed that the vehicle did have problem. Then they told me they will contact me after they get in touch with KIA Canada. In March, they took in the vehicle and claimed to change the rings, which they assumed was the problem. However, within two weeks, the same problem resurfaced and I took back the vehicle to KIA Brampton. The car was checked and we were told by the Service Manager that the change of the ring was a goodwill gesture and the warranty has expired and in general, when vehicles reach the end of the warranty, KIA seems to think that people want to con them to recondition the engine and hence they would not be able to help us. KIA Brampton recommended that we contact KIA Canada re the problem.I contacted KIA Canada about the problem and was told by the Customer Service representative, Malia, on May 24, 2013 that the KIA could not assist me because the vehicle has passed its warranty period. I refuted this of course on the basis that the problem with the vehicle was detected before the warranty period expired. I asked to speak to a supervisor and after being put on hold for 15 minutes, I was told that the Supervisor was busy and but will contact me within 24 hours. On Wednesday, May 29, 2013, I finally received a call from a Sandy from KIA Canada about the matter. I again requested that KIA honor the warranty and fix the vehicle. Sandy said she had nothing to add to what Malia told me because KIA Brampton fixed the problem in March based on their diagnosis and now that the car is over the warranty period, KIA is not responsible for any repairs.

I have also had major problems with city gas mileage and they refuse to acknowledge. When they do the consumption test, they drove it primarily on highway and/or under optimum conditions and are claiming it got over 30 MPH average. But I have been keeping records nearly since I purchased the car and can show my gas mileage has consistently been less than 20 MPH. I am also having problems with my car doing weird things when shifting from reverse to drive, and again, they are claiming they cannot replicate. And finally, the car computer evidently has issues, as unusual things regularly happen with the heating/air system randomly switching itself into a different mode than I left it and the audio system switching mode and channels (reverting back to the lowest FM channel as would happen if you took out the battery). Bought my car at Dulles Kia in Leesburg and have received the worst possible service, especially from the service Manager who accused me of lying and told me he believed from the beginning there was nothing wrong with the car. Gee, what does this say about the company. I have called customer service and they could care less. I would at least expect a massive deal on the service at least. What is also scary, is that Ive been told and also seen reports that these Kia engines can just stop working while you are driving! The dealer here even told me it would be best not to drive it! The next time, she said she had good news, after looking at my records she asked the district manager to reconsider my claim. She called back to say the district manager found a copy where they made a note on one of my service records to have the timing belt looked at. Although I had all my records, the service rep at All Star and at Citrus Ford looked and had not found that. When I got the copy from the District Manager, you can tell he had altered the paperwork. Timing belt is scheduled to be changed at 105,000 miles, I have 82,000. They said you must have it looked at at 60,000. To top all that, they kept my car two weeks and charged me $500 to check the timing belt, which I told them that was the problem. The warranty is just a selling point.

I bought a Kia Rio in 2003. I was the first owner with 1,000 miles on it. It was on clearance. I didn’t need an extra car, but the price was too good to be true. 3 months after the purchase, it was still under the famous 100,000-mile guarantee. The A/C stopped working. I took it back. They fixed it. 8 months later, the A/C stopped working again. They fixed it. 2 to 3 months later, the A/C stopped working again along with the driver lock. They fixed both. This time, I told them that I didnt want the car no more. It was too much hassle and I needed a reliable car because my older car got totaled in an accident. This time, they got a brand new AC compressor. It worked for a year. The dealer told me the new compressor had its own guarantee. I told them I wanted to exchange it for different car. He said if it didn’t work, they will do it. They were very nice, so I trusted them. Less than a year later, the AC and car locked again. I took it back. I had enough. This time, they said: Were sorry to inform you. But if you would had come before last week, we could it replace it. But your guarantee on your A/C just expired. Now Im stuck with this piece of **! I keep advising my friends never to buy a Kia ever.

I just paid off my Kia Rio 2005 in April. About two months ago, the engine exploded so I had it rebuilt. Then the water pump malfunctioned so I had that repaired. After that, it needed a new thermostat, then a piece of the radiator popped off. And most recently, the water pump needed replacement again. It is also making horrific noises sometimes when I use the brakes. So far, I have put about $3000 into repairing this vehicle. I depend on it to get to work. The transportation service in Jacksonville is terrible and I need a car. Also about two years ago, the a/c stopped working and about a year ago the switch for the headlights stopped working properly causing my brights to come on at times. And a couple of months ago, the door to the drivers side will not open unless I roll down the window put the key in the door and open it. I work full time but due to the economy our hours are cut. I am going into debt trying to repair this vehicle.

I have gotten no help or updates from either the Moritz Kia in Hurst or heard back from anyone from your office. Im now being told by the dealership (18 Sep, 2015) that the vehicle is not cover under the 100k miles warranty! I would need to pay $1999.94 to get my car out. Why was this information not convey to me prior to all this work and time being spent on the car? If this was communicated to me ahead of time, I would have had my local mechanic correct your issue in less than a week for less the half the price. When the mechanic opened the hood did he not noticed the radiator had been replaced?Just so I have the sequence of event correctly stated: 02 August 2015, my vehicle overheated, with all ORIGINAL equipment. I have towing receipt. Vehicle has been in dealership since 05 August. 21 September 2015, I was told KIA will not Honor 100K mile warranty because I had replaced the original radiator that had leaked (AFTER the engine overheated). I never experienced such bad customer service. Bad practice... First and last time I will buy a KIA.

I was driving my 2013 Kia Sorrento on Interstate 95 at 8 am on the morning of 8/11/14. Clear day, nothing out of the ordinary. I had 2 co-workers with me and when I looked in my rear view mirror I noticed the sun in the eyes of one of my co-workers so I pulled the shade on the sunroof. Less than a minute later we all heard a loud bang out of nowhere that sounded like a gunshot. Immediately following the sunroof exploded into a million little pieces that rested on the shade I had just pulled. If I hadnt done that, we would have all been pelted with the glass and who knows what kind of injury or accident would have occurred.

I purchased a 2016 Kia Soul+ in October 2016. I loved my Soul... so much that I was recommending Kia to all of my family and friends. Well... while on vacation June 20, 2017, my Kia Soul+ seized on the freeway while going 65 mph!!! Lucky for me and my family, the freeway was fairly empty. Had it towed to a nearby Kia Dealer. They determined it was the same problem that all the cars on the recall list were having. So they gave me a rental and sent me on my way. Its been three weeks and still no answer as to when my car will be fixed. I live 600 miles away from where my car is at! I cant believe that in the past 6 years Kia hasnt resolved this issue with the engine!! Ill be trading in my Kia for something else! This is unacceptable!

Two weeks ago we purchased a new 2014 Kia Soul +. And less than 48 hrs/200 miles later, a loud clunk noise occurred at 45 mph, causing the vehicle to jump, and thereafter was stuck in 4th gear. The dealer replaced a computer module that controls the transmission. Had to drive a loaner for 5 days then got repaired Kia back... Within 24 hrs/60 miles, the same clunk, again stuck in 4th gear. The service dept guy told me there was nothing for them to look at unless the check engine light was on.. so I continued on to work, driving 45 mph on 4-lane highway for 35 miles :( . The check engine light did eventually come on. Back to the service dept, where they said they needed to reset the system with the new module. After another 2 days of driving a loaner, picked up the (repaired) Soul within 36 hrs/70 miles, another clunk and stuck in 4th gear. I should mention that the clunk feels like the equivalent of driving over a speed bump at 45 mph.. it jars the entire vehicle and causes me to have a startle response.. I believe there MUST be damage occurring. My Soul+ is again back at the dealer, for what the service guy said would likely be several days.. He also said he had no idea why it was malfunctioning. I believe the dealer should replace the car.. It was NOT sound when I bought it.. I dont trust driving it not knowing when it might malfunction again. If I happened to be in heavy traffic when it happens again, I could very well have an accident due to the startling nature of the event. I am paying for a brand new vehicle purchased 13 days ago, that I have driven for less than 5 days AND in Illinois. This vehicle is nearly covered by the Lemon Law.. just one more failed repair attempt and were there :(

I have a 2012 Kia Soul with 14,100 miles on it. Every few months the battery loses a charge and has to be jumpstarted. I had it towed into the Kia dealership and they tell me (for the 12th time now) that I dont drive the car enough! We are on our 3rd battery, which required me to fight like crazy to get Kia to pay for, and its since again in the shop for another battery replacement! Today I was told I need to drive the car 2 hours a day to keep the battery charged AND I cant keep the car outdoors in the winter because the cold harms the battery! Im sorry but this car is for my college student daughter, where the heck can she park a car indoors in college? I really am disappointed in Kia and the dealership for not trying to find out the issue with this car! I will never buy another Kia again!!!

2016 Kia Soul. 23500k miles on it... engine started making a noise while accelerating slowly. Checked the oil. It was low but in serviceable area of dipstick. Checked for leaks, including checking the filter. Took it to the dealer and the check engine light came on for the first time. Dealership is now saying that the oil filter was loose and all of the oil leaked out. The oil was not changed at the dealership so this is their tried and true way of denying the warranty. They used to void the warranty outright if the change was not at the deal but now they say the part failed. This car has been to the dealer two times for oil related issues. The first time oil was leaking after they changed it and they blamed the drain plug failing. Before I took it in that time I checked and the plug was loose. Of course this was covered under warranty because they messed up but would not admit it. This time, they blame the filter and claim oil was all over the underside of the car. ODD!! I was under the car to check it 20 minutes before it was in the deal ship and there were no leaks found?? Now the outcome is a blown engine that Kia blames on faulty service. Dont touch them.

I bought a new 60,000 dollar vehicle Kia Sorrento, I have had to boost it first thing in morning, I have had to boost it when out shopping in parking lot. I went into Kia and they said they would charge me 140 if they could find nothing wrong. I should not be charged anything as there is definitely something wrong. Sorrento is loaded and they said if youre using a lot of things in car it takes 18 to 20 minutes to charge battery back up. I boosted it yesterday in parking lot of bed, bath and beyond drove around 20 min, came home parked it, just went out to start it dead again. I think either battery is not big enough to have enough reserve power or parasitic drain or it’s not fully charging (not my fault).Yesterday the light over the button for locking door went out. As I said vehicle is new under 12000 kilometres. I think it is terrible youre dead in the water after you buy a 60000 dollar vehicle. In August of 2012, it will be 2 years that I have owned my 2011 KIA Sorento. I bought the vehicle brand new. 3 weeks ago (at 30K miles), my 4 tires had steel threads poking out and the tires were very thin. The Sorento was also pulling to the right, very bad. I contacted the dealership, telling them that their manufacturers tires were bad and demanded they replace them and fix my alignment. Kia told me that it could have done 12 months prior, but that I am out of luck now and have to pay over $200 to get it fixed right. So, I went to another big time vehicle mechanic. They did my alignment and they also mentioned that the camber bolts needed to be replaced/fixed, but that would have to be something KIA needs to do. This place did do my alignment, after I forked over a thousand dollars for 4 brand new tires at Discount Tire Co. So, Kia Corporate Service told me to bring the vehicle in for a checkup after I told them what the other mechanic told me. After Kia was done, they hit me with a charge for another alignment! I explained to the guy that we had told him from the beginning that we had an alignment done and that we did not authorize this. Then, Kia told me that the camber bolts were installed backwards and the mechanic had to fix that too. I told the guy, How could that be? The other mechanic never even touched the bolts. After I was forced to pay in order to be able to drive it off, the Sorento went back to pulling off to the right again. So, back I went to the dealership today. I took this Kia service guy for a test drive in my Sorento. This guy said that driving down our bad city roads just makes it seems like our vehicle is pulling off to the right. That there are a lot of bumps in our city roads. The service guy said they will take another look at our Sorento, even though as he said, There is nothing wrong with it. Kia also refuses to give me my money back for the other alignment that was done, which the vehicle did not need. While there, I met another customer who had just gone through the same, exact thing we are now going through. She has hired an attorney and gave me the name of her attorney.

KIA has stated that everything refers back to the Owners Manual for everything. However when you buy a vehicle brand new an individual is not given a copy of the owners manual to read prior to buying the vehicle. In trying to get my blown motor covered by the warranty, I have found out that if you do your own oil changes a person is supposed to keep all of their receipts and put them in the manual. Not all people are of the personality to keep all receipts so this is not an excuse for them to deny the coverage of the warranty. I took the vehicle into the dealership because it had a problem in Feb. and they said it was low on oil at that time and that was the problem. Only a vehicle with 28K miles should not be low on oil when the last oil change happened at 24,830. Now at 33K the engine is blown and KIA is refusing to honor the warranty because they are saying it was a lack of maintenance.

While vacationing, the engine on my KIA blew with no warning. No pre-warning engine light, just a complete engine fail. Fortunately it was under warranty, so the repairs will be at no cost to me. Also, I had the good fortune to be sent to a phenomenal service/dealer, Youngblood KIA in Springfield, MO, theyve been fantastic!! Unfortunately, the only thing KIA customer service has been able to provide is the runaround. My son and I have contacted Consumer Affairs multiple times and each time I receive a different answer/response. First the rental is approved, then the rental is in question, then they dont know what to tell me, oy vey!! All Im asking is for them to stand by their customer, who had to leave the car 7.5 hours from home. Im requesting a rental and a reunite of my vehicle once prepared. You would think this would be easy, wrong. If this is the type of customer service I receive on a warranty repair, I will NEVER buy another KIA vehicle. In addition, I will tell everyone I know about this experience so the buyer is aware of what they may be getting into. For the record, the service/dealership in Springfield, MO is paying for my rental in Ohio... That is how you serve your customer. I may have to purchase all of my vehicles from them going forward, theyve already acknowledged that theyll ship a purchased vehicle to Ohio.

I was taking my son to the hospital. The hospital we use is about an hour away from our residence. Three deer crossed the roadway. The last deer got confused, started to run back my way so I swerved to miss it. I hit loose gravel but did not know that when I did that it had ripped the oil pan off the motor. It stuck the throttle on and brakes useless. So I had no brakes and the throttle was stuck on. The van struck the embankment head on which was steep because at the top was a railroad track. The same track AMTRAC uses. Anyway after hitting the embank the van proceeded to hit a guide wire which pressed the hood into the motor and left scratches all over the van. It spun the van around, both sides of the van were hit against the pole, wire or embankment or ditch. The van proceed to climb the embankment, no brakes with the throttle stuck. I knew the other was going to be a roll because we were at an angle. Black smoke was pouring into the van. I am scared of black smoke (I was in a house fire 3 years ago. I was the last one out and suffered 2nd/3rd degree burns. I was life lined to Springfield). I couldnt see my son. I could hear him, he would answer me, but I could not see him. At the top of the tracks I heard him say we are going to roll. I said the airbags will deploy. How wrong was I. Just by chance that last tire was hanging onto the track. There was o2 tanks in the van (because of the fire 3 years ago, I burnt my lungs... I inhaled the flame). My seat belt did not lock. I hit the steering wheel, my breasts are bruised. I have a hernia and cant find an attorney that will go up against them. MY son had to have 12 stitches in his leg. I went to the hospital by ambulance because I couldnt breathe. NONE OF THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. So much for 5 stars. MY SEAT BELT DID NOT LOCK. I HATE KIA.

I have a 2014 Kia Sorento. The first year and a half the car ran great without any problems. I’ve always done my service checks, synthetic oil like is recommended, etc. I’m beyond frustrated that every single one of these have gone bad and somehow, every single time Kia has said it’s not covered under their warranty. The car is only 6 years old and less that 100k miles even at this point! This radio has been reported thousands of times on these vehicles and is still not included in any recalls. It will be over $700 to fix. I’ve already spent thousands replacing things that would’ve been covered under other car manufacturers. Nobody would even consider buying this vehicle if they knew the issues beforehand. Please be wary!

Changed lites again, now dome lite. Then car went dead, boosted by a garage, told us was electrical, boosted 2 other times. Back to Kia, this time ripped out the quette, bypassed some wires, good to go. Lasted a week, headlite burnt, Kia changed again at no charge but the new lite was not working. On & on this goes. Of course warranty finished. Now burnt lites & message on dash saying check. Back to Kia. Now need to put Quette back, and 4-500$ to change wiring. They finally diagnosed. This has being going round & round since March. What a nitemare. Serviceman called ROCH extremely rude. Cannot provide order # as car is still @ garage. Awaiting the proprietors call. Am also awaiting the t.v. program J.E.s reply. My husband also bought & changed various lites. What a way to be treated. Be careful anyone buying at this garage. I call this a defect as it was not listed in the features of my car, was hidden from me, has already separated so food, liquids, bugs, whatever, can get underneath the carpet. After only three weeks, it has separated. The truth is they cheap-ed out and didnt cover it with the same protective plate they put on the Sorento and higher end models and refuse to fix it. Instead of putting a plastic plate on the Rio to protect the carpet, which has already separated and frayed, they chose to spend the money for that feature on a Sirius button that I can pay extra for. My mothers brand new Kia Sorento was purchased to take a trip 800 miles to see her sisters. When she arrived, the displays, (all digital), went black. Mind you this car has 1055 miles on it and she is now in Redding Ca., 800 miles from home here in Utah. She called Kia in Redding, and they told her they couldnt help her. She then called the dealership here in Utah and they told her the same thing. They gave her a customer service number. When she called it, they immediately knew the part number. After she gave this to the dealership, they told her it would take 5 weeks to get it from Korea! She once again called the dealership where she purchased the car, In Salt Lake City, Utah, and they offered no help at all! They told her she is basically stuck in Redding CA for at least 5 weeks, or she could chance it and cross the 500 miles of desert between Reno and her home here in Utah... KIA IS A JOKE! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENTS I HAVE EVER HEARD OF!

We bought a Kia Sorento CX3 on 31.3.15 at a Kia franchise. It was about 4 years old. We were told it had never been in and accident and paid £18000 for it, which was the top end of suggested prices. From the beginning we had problems with the sunroof, which rattled. We took it to a local franchise dealer on a number of occasions to get it fixed. Parts of the sunroof had to be replaced.About 17 months after we bought the car it started smelling of damp. My daughter discovered water in the passenger vanity light. When the car was checked by the local Kia dealer. They discovered the welding in the roof had been grounded. Which implies it has been in some sort of accident. We contacted the original Kia dealer and Kias customer care service. They basically said Its not covered by the warranty. We can do nothing for you, and said we could contact the omnison, which we are now doing. It cost £3400 to be fixed by the local Kia garage. You buy from a franchise dealer, who is an ambassador for Kia, because you think you will have some protection. I dont think the garage knowingly sold us a damaged car but I feel Kia have let us down and questioned our integrity. As an ex nurse/midwife, I have spent my life caring for people and I think the way we have been treated is appalling. Buy your car from a company with more integrity and a customer care service that does care.

Our 2013 Kia Sorento w/ 46,963 miles had engine failure at 55 mph. Towed to a local mechanic who diagnosed oil pump failure. Had it towed to Austin dealership and researched Kia problems and discovered that Kia began a recall on 06/22/2017 on the Theta II GDI engine due to manufacturing errors that left metal shavings which occurred at the Montgomery, AL plant for MY 2012-2014 Kia Sorentos. Kia service manager in Austin says ours is not part of the recall because ours has the Theta II MPI engine. Said we could drop the oil pan to look for shavings ($195) and main & rod bearings to look for damage ($400) but we still wouldnt be eligible for repairs. $6800 to replace w/ another Kia engine? I think not. NHTSA has an open investigation on the scope and timeliness of the SC147 recall. There are also many complaints listed for engine failures.

I bought a 2012 Kia Soul. I bought a new car because I live up north where the winters are cold. So I wanted a new car with a good heater. I dont have that in the Kia Soul. The temp gauge in the car drops and I get cool to lukewarm air. I have taken it to my dealership and they had it almost 2 weeks and nothing. They keep telling me it is normal. I have had several cars and none of them had them temp gauge drop and get warm air or cool. I was told that Kia put in a larger radiator than is needed for this size car and they wont do anything about it. If this is as hot as the Kia Soul gets, then Kia should not be selling it up north where the winters are long and cold. As anyone else had this issue.

Kia Stingers have faulty brake rotors, this is a known issue and a quick Google search for stinger rotor problems will confirm this statement. My rotors have been pulsating since about week one of ownership. Kia will not resurface or replace the rotors that I have have been fighting to have fixed for about 9 months now because I have since installed aftermarket wheels and tires. What a joke, any excuse they can use to get out of covering their faulty products. Will not be buying another Kia, ever.

We bought our Kia used, (we werent told it was used at the time we bought it, we noticed it was used after we had bought it and got in it - as we didnt test drive this particular one). In any event, the warranty covered the electrical parts up to 12,000. At about 11,000 miles, I was driving down the highway and was told that break lights werent working. We had head light issues and just thought it was a the bulbs, but both break lights went out, then pulled into the parking deck and notice no running light and no head lights except for brakes. We had to get towed back to the dealership and they replaced all the bulbs saying they were burned out. By the time the lights went out again, it was out of warranty. Every month or so, a bulb will go out - a head light, a break light. Then we noticed when you hit the back of the break light, the lights will flicker on and off, so the bulbs werent actually burned out. Then we began to notice the electrical seats were burned out. And then the lights where the manual transmission gear stick was burned out. Then the license plate lights. And now, for the first time a new electrical issue surfaced in the electric side mirrors, they will no longer work. We noticed many burn marks within the electrical components. We are certain KIA was aware of the electrical issue when we brought the car in under its warranty period, but they refused to address and simply replaced the bulbs and said sometimes things like this happen. We have been stopped by police for headlights being out, brake lights not working and license plate light out. While I love my KIA Sorento and mechanically it has been a reliable vehicle, the electrical issues have been dismal, costly, and unsafe.

My elderly mother has been pressured into buying an extended warranty that she did not need. She already has a 10 year warranty. They sent her card after card, and they called her so many times until she buckled under pressure after being told she had to have it! I am furious. I would say that they have dishonest sales tactics.

I purchased a 2012 Kia Sorento back in November of 2017. After seeing the vehicle had been well maintained on the Carfax and it had low mileage of around 75,000 I felt confident the vehicle would be a reliable long term purchase for me and my family. Now just months later in May 2018 the vehicle spontaneously shut down while driving last week. Fortunately for me I on road with parking lot I could safely roll into and stop. This may not be the case if this happens to another vehicle who may be on a high traffic interstate, high speed roadways, etc. After having it towed to the local Kia dealership I am being told it needs an entire new engine. After a little research, I noticed a Kia Sorento engine failure recall for 2012-2014 due to poor engine manufacturing assembly from leaving debris in engine. After contacting Kia consumer affairs I was told my VIN was not included in this recall. However, they settled on covering half of the $4,000+ repair. If they know they are at fault, why not pay repair in entirety? They claim it is not covered under a warranty and I am ‘fortunate’ they covered as much as they did. I just wanted to educate anyone looking to purchase a new or used vehicle. Steer clear of Kia or Hyundai products unless you can justify buying a new engine before 90,000 miles. I am now going on my THIRD week of having to pay for a rental vehicle because Sorento is still is not repaired. Between the weekly vehicle rental fees, time and hassle, towing fees and the unpronounced $2,000+ for an engine repair I am beyond frustrated at the lack of customer safety concern and service. Please share this to friends and family. Even if this helps just one person not have to go through this situation in the future it was worth my time writing and sharing it.

This car has been nothing but a headache! For starters, the mileage stated in my sales agreement is about 6,000 less than what was actually on the vehicle at the time of purchase. I didnt catch this discrepancy until about a month later when I brought it in for an oil change. I tried contacting a regional manager, who promised to look into the matter, but continuous staff turnover lead me nowhere and I was very pleased with the vehicle at the time, so I just gave up, which I clearly regret. After about a years time, I needed to replace the battery, which I paid for out of pocket because I was told it was only good for 30,000 miles. I just discovered this is not true and it should be covered for 2 years?! Soon after, my car broke down on Christmas Eve and I was told it was something to do with my fuel injectors. Once that was fixed, it broke down AGAIN a few months later and Kia kept it for weeks trying to figure out the problem. They put in a new computer, and when that didnt work, they replaced the whole transmission. This was covered under warranty.Just last week I was pulling out of a parking lot, and another car was speeding around a corner so I accelerated hard in order to avoid being hit. Then my car just stalled, so I pulled over and tried to restart it. All my warning lights came on and it wouldnt turn over. Also, a bit of smoke was coming from the engine. I had it towed to the dealership, and now they tell me the engine is seized because there was NO oil in the car. I had my oil changed less than 3 months ago, but I am just now due for one based on mileage. No oil lights came on prior to stalling, no signs of oil leaks anywhere, and no noises at all.The repairs are not covered under warranty because I am missing 2 service records, and there are times where I have gone about 1,000 miles over the recommended miles between oil changes (I was told about every 7,500 miles at time of purchase). There are 83,000 miles on the vehicle now, and I am so upside-down in my loan its not even funny.. not to mention I am 8 months pregnant! This car is the biggest regret of my life!

My 2016 Kia Sorento seized on 8/16/19... stopped in the middle of the highway. No lights, no sounds, nothing. Did some investigating and it was out of oil. Just had it changed on 6/7/19. Dealership is refusing to honor the lifetime warranty. Again, no lights, no warning, no nothing. 5.5 quarts of oil went somewhere in two months. Or at least thats what was SUPPOSED to be in there. There are several class action lawsuits pending as well regarding this issue & similar things. Dont be fooled.

Kia South Atlanta has to be the most unprofessional and dishonest business
Kia South Atlanta has to be the most unprofessional and dishonest business that I have ever dealt with. I had two diagnostics prepared from two other locations free of charge on my 08 Kia Rio due to the check engine light. The car broke down 2 months after I purchased it (Fayetteville Ga)on the misfire of a plug . The steering wheel cracked up after 3 months and it was not covered on a new car. The same problem re-occurred. The dealer charged a diagnostic fee of $89 that was to be refundable. The first time the exact same problem occurred, it cost $145 not including my personal towing fee ($50). This time, the same problem cost $216 and the $89 for the diagnostic was not refunded. First, they dont keep their word, so get it in writing. As a first time owner, I expected better treatment; however, I learned my lesson. Service is horrible. They were supposed to call me. When the vehicle was ready repaired, there was no call. I took the car to them at 10:30 on 1/30/12 and it was to be ready at 5:45. They didnt even call me. I called Kia South at 5:40 and they stated the auto was ready. However, upon arrival, they charged for the diagnostic and the auto was, in fact, ready. I am very disappointed in the service and I feel that I should not have to pay the $89 fee when I had already had that action performed which identified the problem. Consumers need to be made aware of hidden fees because Kia will not. I paid $89 for a problem that was identified before I even went to Kia South for the repair. Beware, as a new car owner, the 100000 mile warranty is no good and the service also. Thank God its almost paid off. I will never deal with Kia again.

I have only had my car for about 4 year and a couple months. I keep up with maintenance and everything. Recently, my car has been shaking, stalling and the wheel drifts to the right. It has got to the point where I do not even wanna drive this car. I brought my car to Kia and they quoted me $150 for something that needs to be replaced and told me that my tires are causing the wheel to act like it does. I still have a warranty for the car and they did not fix or replace anything. There are more problems to this car that I am not aware of. I was looking to keep this car for another two years, but looks like now I am going to have to trade it in. I a bit disappointed with Kia, I did not think I would run into so many problems so soon in the game.

We bought a Kia Sorento and financed through Kia.... HUGE MISTAKE! This company is absolutely horrible to work with... We traded our Kia for a different vehicle in February. The Kia was paid off via the new dealership... BUT Kia has called us 3 and 4 times a day trying to collect on a vehicle that we no longer own. We have spoke to several people at Kia giving them the payoff information and at the end of each call they still ask for payment.... YES... They ask for payment for a vehicle that we no longer own. There is a time lapse on Kia from payoff to their collection department. These people are awful to work with. For a month they call us numerous times a day....even after giving them proof of payoff! Our Kia was a good vehicle.... Just do not finance through Kia financial. I wont ever buy another Kia just for that reason! Horrible, Horrible Customer Service!!!!

My 2014 Kia Sportage has had the same engine issue 4 times, forcing it to go into limp mode and has requiring a tow. Kia has assured us that it was fixed each time. This last time it happened 200 miles away, forcing me to drive out to pick up my wife. After the issue was fixed, we attempted to drive it back home only to have the same issue happen a mile down the road. Now Kia is refusing to provide us with a rental car during the time that the vehicle is being transported back to us, which could take up to 10 days. Being a family of four with two working parents, this situation is less than ideal. Kia has not proven to be reliable or trusted to make it right. They have owned the issue, but in the end they will leave you out to dry.

On July 19, 2012, I purchased a 2013 Kia Sorento from Riverchase Kia, 2200 Pelham Parkway, Pelham, AL 35124. I shopped this vehicle on their website. I wrote the VIN, stock number, color, and price down on my pad. When I got to the lot, I found the vehicle. During negotiation, I was told if they honored the website price, they could not let me take advantage of the $5000 pull-in/drag-in trade that they advertised on television. I was told by the salesman and the finance person there was no rebate on the 2013 models Sorentos. During closing of my vehicle, I noticed $5000 trade was made up of $3500 trade plus a $1500 rebate. They told me the manufacturer would not allow the dealer do both. If this is true, they need to express this writing on their website as well as on their TV commercials. All this brings to the question of truth in advertising. Please address this, I feel somewhat cheated. You have a product that can stand on its own, Dont taint it with deceiving advertising practices.

i have been having trouble putting fuel in my 2003 Kia Sorento. My warranty has already expired. I did get a recall letter from Kia for the fuel filter replacement, at which time I felt sure this was my problem, and since it was a recall, would be taken care of by Kia. They explained to me that the reason it was recalled was because it was not listed in the manual at all, as something to be changed every so many miles. They sent two pages to be added to the manual. My local Kia dealership did change the fuel filter. That same day, after trying to put fuel in the car, I find nothing had changed. I called them and asked them to look at it again, and took it back several days later, as they were to change another recall, known as the induction control valve, and check my fuel tank once again. They told me that a charcoal canister located in the fuel system had come apart, and I now had charcoal debris in my gas tank, which of course was not covered, and that part was $134.90, and the labor would be $199.00. I went home and went through my manual for a couple of hours trying to locate this charcoal canister, to better understand how such a thing could happen. After having no luck locating it in the manual, I called Kia, and told them my dilemma, and asked them if they could tell me where in the manual this part is located, and are you ready for this? I was told it was not in the manual, because it was not listed as maintenance! I asked well how would anyone know it was even there, if it wasnt listed. They said it was just a part that was never to be changed at any point and time. Now Im going to be out $350.00, on a part that no one knows existed, nor was ever to be changed. I write this in hopes that it will help anyone else, who is having similar problems. If your fuel spits back at you, or you have to dribble the fuel in, it may be this part that no one knew about, or was not a part that should ever need maintenance. Sorry, but a Kia is not in my future.

We purchased a new 2012 Kia Sorento. The first dealer never rotated the tires, and refused to help with a defective Spring. I had the pictures of a snapped spring on the front right. Had to replace all the struts and tires. Switched dealers. At 60,000 miles, the car started to have major electrical problems. Second dealer was worse than the first, changed battery and radio unit. Kept coming up with thousands in expenses. Finally, I told them to replace the starter and the car worked again. I cannot wait to get rid of the car ASAP. Never again will I purchase a Kia since the warranty is worthless.

I bought a 2010 Kia Rio at the end of September. I havent had the car for two full months yet. I only have made one payment on the car. Already, the car needed the breaks and the gas pedal fixed. First, the arm rest was missing and I was told that it would be ordered and be ready in a week. It took them two weeks to get it to me . Now, when I got in my car the other morning, my headlights wouldnt come on at all, only the high beams would work (Remember, I traded in a car that had headlights that did the same thing, thats why I got a new car.) When I turn on the air condition or the heater, the motor vibrates bad. I have spent two days on the phone with Kia, where I bought the car, to see that they get it fixed. I have been call-transferred here and there, I feel like I traveled the world. I was told to call and talk to the sales persons manager to see about getting me a loaner car until mine can be fixed. He told me he had to talk to the service manager and see what he says. He told me to call back in 15 minutes so he could go and talk to the service manager. I did call back and they want to tell me he is in a meeting. No, I think your avoiding my call. I have called 3 more times and could never get him on the phone. Well, the last option is for me to go and explain everything in person since I cant get anything done over the phone. I live an hour and 15 minutes away . I am a divorced 28-year-old parent of one. I need a car, I work 50 hours a week and go to school 3 times out of a week. If nothing is done soon, I am going up over everyones head. This is truly **. I regret getting a KIA

I went to a meeting earlier that day at 1100 and it was fine. I called Kia in Liberty Lake, WA and reported it and told me it wasnt covered under my bumper to bumper warranty because it didnt melt all the way, just in a spot. They refuse to even submit it to Kia out pay to cover it. My $25000 purchase shouldnt melt for any reason. I do not recommend ever buying a Kia.
