Having trouble starting, dies on me after it sits for three or four hours, will start again then sometimes it crank over but not start. Then while driving it will just die on you. It will crank over but will not start. It will takes several tries to start, sometimes up to 10 times then drives like nothing happen. I bought it used from Kyle Chapman Motors in Buda. They have had my car for a month trying to fix it. They put used starter on, made a noise then they say it was not lining up with flywheel. They order one from Kia abd, flywheel and clutch - all of this I get back for one day then radio was out then fixed it. Get it back, made it a mile from Chapman Motors and died on me. They have it again. Now order a crank sensors for it. I just do not know what to think. This has cost me 1,437 and still not fixed.

Bought a used 2010 Kia Rondo Jan. 2015. We are a much older couple & do little mileage. A few months after buying car various lites kept burning. Brought to local garage. Was told take to Kia dealership, an electrical problem. Changed lite, burnt again, along with complete dashboard. Back to Kia, this time supposedly the hitch that was problem. Changed lites again, now dome lite. Then car went dead, boosted by a garage, told us was electrical, boosted 2 other times. Back to Kia, this time ripped out the quette, bypassed some wires, good to go. Lasted a week, headlite burnt, Kia changed again at no charge but the new lite was not working. On & on this goes. Of course warranty finished. Now burnt lites & message on dash saying check. Back to Kia. Now need to put Quette back, and 4-500$ to change wiring. They finally diagnosed. This has being going round & round since March. What a nitemare. Serviceman called ROCH extremely rude. Cannot provide order # as car is still @ garage. Awaiting the proprietors call. Am also awaiting the t.v. program J.E.s reply. My husband also bought & changed various lites. What a way to be treated. Be careful anyone buying at this garage. We firmly believe this was a undisclosed problem when we bought.

I loved my Kia 2013 Kia Sportage. I was a Honda and Toyota owner for years and on an impulsive buy I decide to go against my own advice and bought my 2013 Kia Sportage brand spanking new. I really didnt have a complaint about Kia until I was riding down the highway one evening and the car just lost power. After towing it away the mechanic told me that the engine was seized and it was a $7000 repair. He advised me to call Kia because this appears to be a Known issue. After doing my own research, I discovered that there have been a number of recalls on these cars (55,000 in the united states) and a some across Canada. Well long story short....my engine number is not in the recall list along with 100s of others who have lodged investigations with Transport Canada. They have a list of these cars from 2011-2013 that were sold with a defect. Buyers Beware. Kia knows about the issue but refuses to fix it. After the agent wished me all the best.... I can never buy or endorse Kia again.

I have a 2014 Kia Sorento. The first year and a half the car ran great without any problems. Since then I’ve had to replace the alternator, the serpentine belt, the fuel injection system, oil pan gaskets, and now a radio that is also my backup camera display and Bluetooth. I’ve always done my service checks, synthetic oil like is recommended, etc. I’m beyond frustrated that every single one of these have gone bad and somehow, every single time Kia has said it’s not covered under their warranty. The car is only 6 years old and less that 100k miles even at this point! This radio has been reported thousands of times on these vehicles and is still not included in any recalls. It will be over $700 to fix. I’ve already spent thousands replacing things that would’ve been covered under other car manufacturers. Nobody would even consider buying this vehicle if they knew the issues beforehand. Please be wary!

In September of 2018 my 2012 Sorento started to catch on fire. I did not know what was napping and others were telling me to get out of car. When I finally did it was burning across the bottom. It burnt completely up. Kia paid for a rental for 7 months and then they called me and told me that it was undetermined why the car caught on fire. Now the fire department tells you why. Well anyway they took the rental. Told me its nothing they could do. Credit drops from 670 to 435. Cant get another car if I wanted to and still have to pay the Kia off thats burnt up. Not Fair. People do your research on Kia.

This pass Sunday I was driving on I-75 North to Gainsville to drop off my son for summer camp and the engine made a pull. Then all the sudden a big rattling noise. The car was always serviced by the Orlando KIA West Colonial dealer for Oil changes and for services. My car had clean oil in the pan. This happen on 6/12/2016 and today is 6/19/2016. They need a paper sign from the District manager and I am getting the runaround. I see how it goes... When you step in the show room, they promise you bells and whistles. Then when the time comes up for them to pony up, they drag their feet. This is my last time I will purchase a KIA car or a new car. What is the point... I see that some other people are having similar issues. Think before buying a KIA... Not a happy customer.

Kia overall is a great affordable choice. We have owned 2 Kia Souls and 1 Sorrento. The Sorrento is roomy and versatile. We have 2 kids and its been a wonderful family car. The fold down third row is great for when we need the extra room for groceries. We have taken the car on many road trips and find it very comfortable to travel in, even with small children. We feel safe in it and enjoy having it.

KIA in Mentor, Ohio advertised: Drive home a used vehicle for $199. Not $199 a month or $199 down. For $199. The ad goes on to say how much they have marked down their KIAs. Well, when I went in twice, after I heard the ad, a month apart, for the $199 cars, the salesman looked at me like Im crazy. I told him what his ad said. He said, Well, we have 2 maybe. One needs a motor; the other, a tranny. Each time I went there, I was told the same thing. He didnt say Oh, I had 10, and we sold them. He looked at me with a smirk on his face. This is false and misleading advertising! I have again heard this ad 2 weeks ago.

Dont ever buy Kia. Kia has the worst after sales EVER and they sell you cars whose tires feather within 6 months - Nexen Tires. Dont ever buy with Kia. They suck and their useless experience has been bad bad bad bad bad. Kia SA will point blank refuse your request and maintain that they wont replace or meet you half way, if your tires are feathered after 6 months of purchasing a brand new car. Never mind if you bought the whole car including the tires, and you had crap service from the onset. They WONT meet you half way, they dont care about their customers. All they can say is Were sorry and thats it. They dont care about customer service and after sales services is putrid to the point of vomiting. Kia Paarden Eiland Cape Town should close down and Kia SA should get a new Customer Care Manager. Rather buy BMW, AUDI or even Nissan or Chevrolet - youll get much much better service. Kia will never come near anyones coat tails. They are useless.

I purchased a Kia Sorento back in 03 and have always taken my car for major services to the same dealer since. Recently, my car has had a vibration on acceleration and runs sluggish. There is a rattle on acceleration as well. To make my story short, I took it to the dealer and they checked it out and told me it needed spark plugs and wires replaced to a sum of $469.00. I got it done. A week later, I was having the same problem. I made another appointment. They checked it again and said it needed coils to the sum of $444.00. I asked if this will take care of the problem. They said yes. Today, 4/9/12, my car was towed to the dealer: same problem, only worse! The dealer said they will check again, but they will not cover the fix if it is something else. I told them that’s what they told me that was wrong; therefore, I am not paying one more cent!

I was taking my son to the hospital. The hospital we use is about an hour away from our residence. Three deer crossed the roadway. The last deer got confused, started to run back my way so I swerved to miss it. I hit loose gravel but did not know that when I did that it had ripped the oil pan off the motor. It stuck the throttle on and brakes useless. So I had no brakes and the throttle was stuck on. The van struck the embankment head on which was steep because at the top was a railroad track. The same track AMTRAC uses. Anyway after hitting the embank the van proceeded to hit a guide wire which pressed the hood into the motor and left scratches all over the van. It spun the van around, both sides of the van were hit against the pole, wire or embankment or ditch. The van proceed to climb the embankment, no brakes with the throttle stuck. I knew the other was going to be a roll because we were at an angle. Black smoke was pouring into the van. I am scared of black smoke (I was in a house fire 3 years ago. I was the last one out and suffered 2nd/3rd degree burns. I was life lined to Springfield). I couldnt see my son. I could hear him, he would answer me, but I could not see him. At the top of the tracks I heard him say we are going to roll. I said the airbags will deploy. How wrong was I. Just by chance that last tire was hanging onto the track. There was o2 tanks in the van (because of the fire 3 years ago, I burnt my lungs... I inhaled the flame). My seat belt did not lock. I hit the steering wheel, my breasts are bruised. I have a hernia and cant find an attorney that will go up against them. MY son had to have 12 stitches in his leg. I went to the hospital by ambulance because I couldnt breathe. NONE OF THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. So much for 5 stars. MY SEAT BELT DID NOT LOCK. I HATE KIA.

My girlfriend has a 2012 KIA Sorento. After 40000 miles the engine seized. We brought it to the dealer and they asked for service records. When we provided them they still would not honor the warranty. They said it could be improper maintenance and said we had to prove it was their fault. (Since we had gone to Firestone and a few other places for oil changes, they can now say it was their fault not KIAs and we would then have to fight a different vendor to replace the engine.)I was initially too shocked to be angry, but when they said we could pay them to take apart the motor to prove fault, I spoke to another mechanic who has dealt with this before. He said they are not likely to find anything that will prove anything either way and we will just be out an additional 500 dollars. I am now taking the only recourse I have without money for a lawyer. I am telling every outlet I can find to go with a different company. This feels like fraud to me. We did what was asked of us in the handbook and they just dont want to honor their warranty. It never says anywhere that if you dont use KIA for everything, you might as well write off your warranty. So now we are stuck without a car and with a probable 5K cost facing us because we did the right thing. It is not honest or fair that a car from 2012 with 40K miles has a dead engine. There are plenty of reviews about this type of thing on the internet. I recommend you look long and hard before falling for the same trick we did. We probably wont have a choice since there are still 3 years on the note so we cant really do anything but let them bully us. Please consider any other car before KIA. #dontbuyKIA #KIA

I purchased a 2017 Kia Sorento brand new last year. Up until this point I was happy with my purchase and have enjoyed the vehicle. But recently I took a highway trip (car now has 19,000 miles) and it started to develop a problem with sticky steering at higher speeds. Very difficult to maintain position in the lane. My husband asked me why I was jerking the car so much, but thats what it took to keep the vehicle in the lane. I was so concerned with safety that I sacrificed part of my vacation sitting in a repair shop having them go over the front end. I was told there was nothing to check because the steering is electronic, not hydraulic. Hoping the car was safe to drive I returned home and immediately had my dealer check the problem. The dealer said there was nothing wrong and nothing to check diagnostically. Come back when it happens again, the manager said. Since then it has happened nearly every time I drive above 50 mph. After doing some research I have found this is a common problem for which KIA has no fix. Very sorry I purchased this car because not only does KIA not care about the problem, its been around for a while and they have done nothing to correct it. Time to go buy a Honda.

With the advent of keyless entry, there are bound to be lost key FOBS. They are ridiculous in price. Then you have to go to a dealer to have it programmed. They get you coming and going. Same with the built-in GPS. The new maps are expensive. I did not care for the car app that is for your phone either. The car should not have a problem with rotors already. Their reasoning is I could have driven through puddles which cooled down the rotors so then they heat back up and cause problems. And a bunch of other lousy excuses. Luckily, this 38k car is a lease and goes back in six months.

I have a 2012 Soul with 43K miles. Last week the engine light came on and it started sounding like a sewing machine. I took it to the Kia dealership in Macon, GA. After only pulling the dipstick out, they determined that two litters had collapsed from starving of oil. With no service record because I change the oil myself (who can afford what a dealership charges?), engine repair/replacement is not covered under warranty. So they want $4,800 for a used engine with 6,000 miles or $7,800 for a remand engine from the factory. Its time Kia steps up to the plate and backs this crap theyre putting on the roads.

2016 Kia Soul. 23500k miles on it... engine started making a noise while accelerating slowly. Checked the oil. It was low but in serviceable area of dipstick. Checked for leaks, including checking the filter. Took it to the dealer and the check engine light came on for the first time. Dealership is now saying that the oil filter was loose and all of the oil leaked out. The oil was not changed at the dealership so this is their tried and true way of denying the warranty. They used to void the warranty outright if the change was not at the deal but now they say the part failed. This car has been to the dealer two times for oil related issues. The first time oil was leaking after they changed it and they blamed the drain plug failing. Before I took it in that time I checked and the plug was loose. Of course this was covered under warranty because they messed up but would not admit it. This time, they blame the filter and claim oil was all over the underside of the car. ODD!! I was under the car to check it 20 minutes before it was in the deal ship and there were no leaks found?? Now the outcome is a blown engine that Kia blames on faulty service. Dont touch them.

This car has been nothing but a headache! For starters, the mileage stated in my sales agreement is about 6,000 less than what was actually on the vehicle at the time of purchase. I didnt catch this discrepancy until about a month later when I brought it in for an oil change. I tried contacting a regional manager, who promised to look into the matter, but continuous staff turnover lead me nowhere and I was very pleased with the vehicle at the time, so I just gave up, which I clearly regret. After about a years time, I needed to replace the battery, which I paid for out of pocket because I was told it was only good for 30,000 miles. I just discovered this is not true and it should be covered for 2 years?! Soon after, my car broke down on Christmas Eve and I was told it was something to do with my fuel injectors. Once that was fixed, it broke down AGAIN a few months later and Kia kept it for weeks trying to figure out the problem. They put in a new computer, and when that didnt work, they replaced the whole transmission. This was covered under warranty.Just last week I was pulling out of a parking lot, and another car was speeding around a corner so I accelerated hard in order to avoid being hit. Then my car just stalled, so I pulled over and tried to restart it. All my warning lights came on and it wouldnt turn over. Also, a bit of smoke was coming from the engine. I had it towed to the dealership, and now they tell me the engine is seized because there was NO oil in the car. I had my oil changed less than 3 months ago, but I am just now due for one based on mileage. No oil lights came on prior to stalling, no signs of oil leaks anywhere, and no noises at all.The repairs are not covered under warranty because I am missing 2 service records, and there are times where I have gone about 1,000 miles over the recommended miles between oil changes (I was told about every 7,500 miles at time of purchase). There are 83,000 miles on the vehicle now, and I am so upside-down in my loan its not even funny.. not to mention I am 8 months pregnant! This car is the biggest regret of my life!

I purchased a used 2016 Kia Sorento fully loaded SXL (Highest trim, original MSRP of $43,000) for $27,000 + TAX/FEE with just under 40,000 miles on it in 2017. I had the car shipped to me from Gary Rome KIA in ENFIELD, CT (Never do business with this dealership. They are dishonest). I live in TN and they shipped the car down to me after a brief negotiation of price over the phone. From the moment the car was delivered to me I had several issues that the KIA dealership that sold me the car should have taken care of. 1. The panoramic moonroof was sticking and wouldnt close properly. 2. The car had tires on it OLDER THAN THE SUV ITSELF! 3. The tailgate was sticking and not opening properly.4. The keyless entry and automatic tailgate opening both did not work properly (Less than 60% success on keyless entry, 90%+ failure on tailgate feature). 5. The car was delivered with only ONE key fob (Promised two, never made good on it. Thats $200). 6. The exhaust system on the SUV had a catastrophic failure resulting in complete loss of engine power and leaving me without a car for over a week while car was at local dealer being repaired under warranty. All these issues in a $40k SUV that was under 40k miles and about a year old.Despite all these issues, the warranty covered fixing the exhaust (Melted catalytic converter), fixing the moonroof (Lubrication added and hardware adjustments), and a temporary fix on the tailgate sticking (Anti-Stick coating applied. Didnt help for long. Problem returned within a month). The dealer never acknowledged the keyless entry had any issue telling me I had to physically remove the key from my pocket for it to work properly. This defeats the entire purpose of KEYLESS entry. This is 100% unacceptable and they know it. Despite all these issues upfront, I enjoyed the value of the features in the car and wanted to keep it. I kept it for about year and traded it in 2018 for a Lexus (Ive never had a single poor experience with Lexus. They are worth every extra penny and their keyless entry JUST WORK!).For those considering buying a KIA here are some PROS and CONS based from my experiences with the product and company. PROS. 1. They honored warranty work. Never cost me anything other than inconvenience and time. 2. Cars come with high end features for less cost. 3. Buying a used KIA is very attractive from a price/value perspective. 4. Quality of KIA has improved dramatically over the years.CONS. 1. Car had tons of issues, some of which like the keyless entry that KIA refused to acknowledge were issues. 2. KIA vehicles DEPRECIATE LIKE A LEAD BALLOON. NEVER buy a brand new KIA. Youll get taken to the cleaners on your trade or when you decide to sell. Even if you buy used, the trade/value of their vehicles are TERRIBLE! Having owned the 2016 KIA Sorento for about a year and getting the mileage up to 60k miles, I was offered anywhere from 20-22k in trade AT A KIA DEALERSHIP! A Ford dealer offered me $23.8k. I paid $27k. Car dropped between 3.2-7k in value in 20k miles/1 year. Seriously? Even the KIA dealerships dont want their product back. Very disappointed in value retention of product. Some dealerships didnt even want to offer anything because of the KIA name. Maybe I just got unlucky and was delivered a LEMON. However I dont give KIA a pass for this since I purchased a practically brand new car from THEIR FRANCHISED DEALERSHIP and was delivered an absolute piece of garbage. I purchase a new 1-3 year old used car (Normally off lease) about every 1-3 years. I favor high end luxury cars in the price range of $30-40k. There are three car manufacturers I will never buy from again. BMW (These cars are fun to drive but absolutely trash and maintenance and repairs will eat you alive). KIA (These cars on the surface appear to be great values but you get what you pay for). Mitsubishi (My first car was a Galant. Head gasket blew up at 60k miles. Car was babied and I expected to get many more years of life out of it. This happened when I was just out of college.) Congratulations KIA. You made the list. Ill never buy your brand again because of the terrible experience and product you delivered.

My mother was driving her 2010 Kia car when the gear stick came right out in her hand! Imagine what a shock that was, when she was just left with the stick. My father had to come and pick her up. Shed had to be driving the car slower as the gear wasnt working and she ended up causing a traffic jam. When she could finally pull over into a safe area, she let Kia know. They told her to bring the car to them! She explained calmly that she wasnt going to drive a car with a non-functioning gear stick. The lady on the other end of the phone tried convincing her that she should just go really slowly. Unbelievable! When my mother became angrier and asked them if they really expected her to drive the car, another man came on the phone and tried the same tactic. My mother said they needed to come and get the car. Surprise, surprise; there was no one available. And, to add to this, apparently the gear stick doesnt form part of their 7-year warranty anyway! Now, maybe its just me, but Im thinking theres something really fishy about that. How convenient! She asked them what came in the warranty then, shed like to know for the future!Never mind that she has had continual problems with Kia before and even that very morning when she had gone to get her car fixed after something had fallen off the front, they didnt have the correct parts when she went so that was a wasted journey. It was as if everything was supposed to happen that day in order for us to realize that Kia is a very dodgy company. I agree with the other reviews here: a shoddy company, with shoddy parts and shoddy customer service. They dont help you; they mess you around, and their warranty is very shaky as they try to wriggle out of whatever they can. Shell be getting rid of this car as soon as she can and well be spreading the word about this not-fit-for-purpose company!

Everything the other reviewers are saying is true. First of all the dealer
Everything the other reviewers are saying is true. First of all the dealer coerced me to pay 900.00 over the sticker price. Before that they distracted me while their assoc. went to the car I chose, a base model ,and tried to change the sticker price from 13,000 to 15,000. When I objected they changed it back. Then the first thousand or so miles the steering wheel and tires would freezing / lock up while turning while driving incredulously. A few times I almost drove into vehicles or caused major accidents. Consumer assistance was no help at all. They refused to fix the problem saying they could not duplicate the issue. So I contacted dvohs to file a formal complaint. Then the vehicle wouldnt start at all many times, I had to call for jumps and tows sometimes in freezing weather. At ten thousand miles the clutch failed and had to be completely replaced. Now at 46,000 miles the car needs to be pushed down the hill just to get it to drive. Kia consumer hassle stated that the promises of bumper to bumper warranty does not exist. We are sorry they misled you that way. The warranty only covers the powertrain. The promise of free tires for the lifetime of the vehicle a total lie. They stated they are not obligated to honor any promises made by their representatives. The repairs at 46,000 miles which will be my total financial responsibility. They denied ever receiving previous calls at consumer assistance which is appalling. The dealership Columbus Ga hung up the phone in my face when I described my situation and refused to answer any more of my calls or voicemails. Kia refuses to honor their PROMISES TO customers and blatantly admit their claims of 100,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty is a complete lie. Never buy Kia. If you have one trade it in for something else or you will be hung out to dry. The attorney general, Better Business Bureau, and consumer affairs have abandoned the Kia consumers. I will be saddled with bills I never expected for a car that is obviously a lemon and will never ever function properly. I spent my entire savings paying for this car. Now I have no money and soon at 46,000 miles no car or money to fix the car. There is no justice for KIA Soul owners either.

I purchase a 2016 Kia Sorento. Ever since day one I have safety recall issues which none of the Kia dealerships can fix it, GAS PEDAL, AIR CONDITION, BACK DOOR, SEAT BELT, BRAKES etc. I have contact Kia corporation, they are a JOKE. They never return calls so now Im doing everything I can to let all know how this crocks operate. They just sell you the vehicle and just deal with the problems yourself. I have report them to the BBB, Department of Justice and DMV, investigators do all the same together, will make a difference. Lets all report this crooks to all this departments to put them out of business.

New 2012 4cyl GPI AWD Sorento - Initially got 12mpg city, got excited when it started to get 14mpg. Now, it’s down to 10.4mpg. Have just over 4k miles on the vehicle. I contacted consumer affairs and was given a number to reference with the dealer service. Service found nothing wrong with the vehicle.I can get better mileage with 8cyl hemi. This is totally wrong and needs to be dealt with. My options are to trade it in and lose money, or look to the market or legal for help.

Today I paid Kia for 2019 property taxes of a vehicle I do not own since August 31, 2018 when I traded it for a new Toyota car. I tried everything to clarify the issue but they just decided to send the tax assessment to a collection company. I moved from Ma to IL, changed plates, sold the car in 2018, etc and the still kept charging me property taxes for the vehicle. Before this, I had multiple issues with the Kia financing department to the point that I had to get the general manager of the Kia dealer in Massachusetts to fix the issues with finance. Kia Sportage is one of the best cars I ever owned but I will never deal with Kia again due to the ineptitude of their Financial Dept.

Ok, Ive been having issues with my low beam headlights. I cant even tell when they are on and having highbeams is the only why I can drive safely, until other drivers blind me with theirs because they are upset about it. Originally I thought maybe they just need cleaned... till I did research this is a major issue with many people and Kia needs to take responsibility. The chrome is getting burnt by the lights and it no longer is reflective enough to work effectively. I dont know how they have not recalled with all the complaints I have viewed online. This is a safety hazard and needs to be addressed. Other than that I think it is a fantastic car.

2012 I purchased Kia Ceed 29,000 miles from Kia garage with one previous owner. Issues with the gears stiff, failing to engage the garage and web info said this is normal. The problem increased. Car became unsafe to drive. I requested the garage to investigate. The garage has now confirmed the clutch and flywheel (plus) other components have broken. Kia head office has refused to fix the car under the warranty stating wear and tear. The garage is refusing to do the work - cost of repair is 1000. The garage is also stating this kind of failure happens with low mileage. Head office stated poor driving caused the problem. As you can gather I am not impressed with the service provided by Kia, or the car! Has anyone else had a similar issue, or could offer advice?

For all of you people thinking of buying a Kia, read this. Bought a brand new 2012 Kia Sorento, not a demo, right out of the show room. At 800 km, head gasket had to be re-placed. At 1500 km, oil pan seal had to be replaced. At 2000 km, engine block had to be replaced. After arguing days with Kia Longueil and Kia Canada, we got them to replace the entire motor instead of re-building my engine. Then we went to pick up the truck and the electrical blew. Kia Canada does not stand behind their product at all! We requested to have the vehicle changed for a new one from the minute we started having these problems, and was told no but we will get free oil change. My truck that I paid over $40,000 for a new vehicle experience has been ruined by Kia Canada. I am now stuck with a hunk of junk. For my loss of time out of the office, anxiety and fear my truck will break down, Kia Canada offered me a free oil change. If I ever sell or trade in my truck which I will, what do I say when I am asked if any major repairs have been done to the vehicle? To my surprise Kia doesn’t stand behind their product. Too bad we do not have a lemon law in Canada. I would never buy a Kia again! If you research Kia Sorento, I am not the only person to have major problems with the vehicle or Kia Canada.Don’t buy a Kia!

Why did my valve stem for my 2010 Kia Soul break? This will cost me $200.00
Why did my valve stem for my 2010 Kia Soul break? This will cost me $200.00 to replace. I love driving my little Kia. I was told Montgomery Kia/Chevrolet Preston Hwy Louisville KY personnel that, it is not covered under bumper to bumper warranty. They said that it is manufacturing defect and it was not broken by them. The stem is not covered by the warranty. A reason why it broke is that a long stem air hose chuck was used to replace the air. Individuals wiggling the long extension air chuck can bend and break off the computerized air valve. I believe in keeping good air pressure in my tires saves gas and tire wear. I believe that whether I had used or service attendant had used a shorted air stem chuck on this valve stem to this tire. It still would have broken off. And when the air hose extension chuck used on this tire, air hose was removed for air stem of this tire, the stem came with the extension chuck. This tire on the driver side front has several times registered air pressure was low on my dash lights the last six months. The tires on vehicles sometime lose air pressure. The weather changes from normal temperatures to lower cold temperatures.I was told by one of Montgomery Kia technicians that this is manufacturing defect of the company that makes this computerized valve air stem. While I was making an appointment with the dealership to replace the defective stem, the air stem on this tire had lost air pressure while my Kia Soul was in motion on the highway. This would be considered a blow out. As my Kia Soul was sitting still, the tire went flat immediately.I have very good records of service done on my Kia, which all recommends service checks have been done at Montgomery Kia. The manufacture defective valve stem broke and deflated at car service station. I had them replace the air stem with regular valve stem, which since 2008 most vehicles have this feature letting you know when tire pressure is low. This is a very good feature on my Kia. By the way, if anyone has a Hyundai 2008-2012, you have the same computerized valve stems in your tires like mine. Valve stem on a tire before 2008, you basically had to rip up the metal rim of a tire or unscrew the core of valve stem out for a tire to go flat, not because the valve stems were manufactured with defect parts. The computerized valve stem to me has alloyed (metal) fatigued. I believe in safe lighter vehicles, but you need dependable tires, rims and valve stems on the vehicles. If your engine blow-up, you will come to a rolling stop. If your computerized valve stems break on one your tires, you may be in an accident. If this manufacturing defect from a company that produced this computerized valve stem to me, should this be a recall from Kia. How many vehicles that are on the road that this company manufacturing defective computerized valve stems? How many Fords, Chevrolets, Hondas, Toyotas and Kia on the road today?

I have gotten no help or updates from either the Moritz Kia in Hurst or heard back from anyone from your office. Im now being told by the dealership (18 Sep, 2015) that the vehicle is not cover under the 100k miles warranty! I would need to pay $1999.94 to get my car out. Why was this information not convey to me prior to all this work and time being spent on the car? If this was communicated to me ahead of time, I would have had my local mechanic correct your issue in less than a week for less the half the price. When the mechanic opened the hood did he not noticed the radiator had been replaced?Just so I have the sequence of event correctly stated: 02 August 2015, my vehicle overheated, with all ORIGINAL equipment. I have towing receipt. Vehicle has been in dealership since 05 August. 21 September 2015, I was told KIA will not Honor 100K mile warranty because I had replaced the original radiator that had leaked (AFTER the engine overheated). I never experienced such bad customer service. Bad practice... First and last time I will buy a KIA.

I originally purchased a Kia Sorento EX in July and after the car being in the shop numerous times without any resolution to the problem, I then traded it in after only a month for another 2013 Kia Sorento EX but with the 3rd row seating and navigation package. My 3-month-old car was in the shop. I originally had a problem with the gas mileage and rpm to which I was told Kia came out with an update to fix that problem, which apparently after having the update applied to my vehicle has made the problem worse! I currently am getting horrible gas mileage for a four-cylinder; if I wanted only 18-22 mpg, I would have purchased a 6-cylinder. On top of that, my heating element went out on the drivers side which they ordered the part, but that apparently was not the problem and at the moment they are not sure what is going on. I then tried to get a rental car through the service offered by the extended platinum coverage that I had purchased at the time of purchase of the vehicle. I was then rudely told that the only way a rental is covered is if the vehicle has a diagnosis code and that the issue would be covered under warranty! Its a brand new vehicle with extended coverage. Why wouldnt it be covered under warranty? What is the point of me spending over a thousand dollars on a warranty that is useless? I am beyond upset with my recent purchase through Kia and Im very disgusted at the way the regional office handles customer complaints or concerns. I initially had a claim pending with Kia. I called several times, each leaving a message, and still have yet to receive even a courtesy call back. The young lady I had originally spoke with when I had an issue with the first vehicle told me, Thats why Kia has a warranty to cover issues with their vehicles! So that tells me that they arent going to make a quality car because they have such an outstanding warranty? Its not even the issue with the warranty; its the stress and gas wasted running back and forth to a dealership. If I wanted an unreliable vehicle, then I would have purchased a used car! At the moment, I have nothing good to say about Kia because you obviously dont stand by your products. Your customer service is very lackluster, and the right to do would have been to may be a little more caring and even offer a gas card for the inconvenience of my traveling 50+ miles back and forth to the dealership. So that day, after spending over two hours in the service department, I was given a rental by the service asst. manager in which I do commend her for doing so, seeing that they had yet to come up with a solution to the problem. I was happy with their covering the rental but not by the fact that it was a basic model Nissan Versa! On another note, Kia is the only dealership that I have dealt with that does not have a shuttle service nor uses their own brand of vehicles as loaner cars which, to me, says a lot. All that I was asking for was that someone takes a little more initiative in solving customer issues and making sure the customer is satisfied, and I am really hoping that my problem is successfully resolved this time around. Its one thing when you are having issues with your vehicle and customer service goes above and beyond. At least when people ask if you like your vehicle, you can tell them, Well, Ive had a couple issues, but Kia corporate was very helpful in resolving, vs. No, I wouldnt suggest that you purchase a Kia! I was just contacted by the service department at Conyers Kia and my car is drivable but the issue hasnt been fixed. They need to order a new part which wont be in until sometime next month. So now, that is more time and gas wasted! Once all the parts came in, I then took my vehicle back into the shop for the fourth time! They then replaced the alternator which was supposedly causing the idling problem, and they also replaced my heating element. Well, two months later, lets just say not only has my gas mileage gotten worse since they replaced the alternator but the idling problem has returned! Also, the update that was supposed to fix the problems was obviously a lie because not only is the problem unfixable, Kia has come out with a reimbursement program for falsely advertising mpg on certain vehicles.

2013 Kia Optima Recall: My car was checked and determined to have the issue with metal shavings in the engine. They have arranged for an immediate loaner - even though they do not know when they will have an engine for me. I asked them what the new warranty will be for this new engine and I cant get a clear answer. Will it be the full 100,000 miles which only seems fair? They said they had heard that it might be and extra 20,000 to 50,000 on top of the original warranty. I would have thought that they would have had that detail worked out by now.

I own a 2013 KIA Rio Ex. I had many problems with the car. I was the owner of a 2018 Kia Sorento. Upon getting close to the end of my lease, I went to the dealership Smithtown Kia on Long Island, NY. Between mileage and remaining payments, part of the deal/contract for exchanging the 2018 Sorento for a new 2020 Kia Optima is that the remaining balance on the Sorento would be paid off by the dealership. The check for the remaining balance (in excess of $2,600.00) was sent by the dealership upon closure of the deal in February 2020. In August of the same year I received a notification from Transunion (one of the major credit bureaus) that a reported missed payment in the amount of the payoff had been reported by Kia Motors Finance. What Kia neglected to do was send the letters claiming I owed them this money to the address listed when I got the 2020 Optima (my current address), not the address I lived in upon the lease of the 2018 Sorento.I was left in the dark about it due to their negligence to send letters to the right address informing me of their negligence to handle a contracted pay off properly. I checked my credit score which at the time of the deal back in February was well over 800. What happened to my credit score was more than just a drop in the bucket. The drop my credit had experienced put me in a terrible position with my mortgage lender during a refinance that was taking place at the same time frame I found out about this remaining balance on a vehicle I no longer owned nor was legally financially responsible for due to the terms of the balance being the responsibility of the dealership to pay off. I called the dealership right away and they claimed they had sent the check. They sent me a tracking number where the check was sent via Fedex. I looked into the tracking number and the check was signed for by Kia Finance that it had been received.I called Kia Finance. After waiting unbelievable amounts of time to speak with someone, they requested that I send them a picture of the front and back of the check that the dealership had sent them for the pay off. So they wanted a picture of a check they already physically received, yes you read that right. I called the dealership and got the run around for 4 days before they found it and sent it to me via email. Mind you, every day that goes by I am building a terrible mountain of late days on my credit regarding this pay off. Once I received the picture of the front and back of the check I called Kia Finance again where they gave me an email to forward the picture of the check. I sent the email twice in the same day. I called the next day and they put me on hold for 45 minutes only to tell me that I had to wait an additional 2 days before they could find and review the email with the picture attached.I waited 2 days and called back. When I got someone on the phone they put me on hold for 2 straight hours before I lost my patience and gave up. I called the next day and they had me on the phone for an hour before they found the email. Once they found the email the lady on the phone said she was sending it over to payment processing which would take another 3 days. Yes, another 3 days. I waited the 3 days and called back. I got a lady on the phone whom I explained the whole situation to. She puts me on hold to review the situation and once again never gets back to me. I waited on hold for almost a half hour before I gave up again. I have the background music for being on hold with Kia etched into the bad memory bank of my brain. I called back right away where the next lady proceeded to tell me that she needed to review the situation and asked if I would hold for 2 to 3 minutes.I lost it at this point and started pointlessly yelling at them because Im a human being thats been completely pushed to the limit. Finally after over 2 weeks of this horrible experience I get a payment processing person on the phone that seemed interested in helping. But in the end, Ive been instructed I need to wait another 3 days before theyll know anything else. Im literally fighting against the credit bureaus clock because of this company due to absolutely no fault of my own.As I wrote this review I have literally been on hold upon the resolution of the last call I explained for over 26 minutes. I have no hope or feeling of resolution to this awful situation these people have put me in. Gross customer negligence and incompetence that has cost me my financial health. Something needs to be done whether Im the only person this has happened to or whether its happened to multiple people. Its unethical, its immoral, its life altering. I dont know what else to do. I will never get a Kia ever again.

My Kia Sorento 2011 had 59,*** miles on it and it jerks when it shifts at 2nd and 4th gear. I brought it to Jerry Seiner Kia in Salt Lake for service. I told them the prob and I have a strong feeling its the transmission. They tested it and said there is nothing wrong. I just need to change the transmission oil which would cost over $200 since warranty would not cover it cause its for maintenance. They also reset the computer box because accdg to them, it saved the driving pattern of the previous owner so they had to reset it. I brought the car to a different place for the oil change. On my way home, the car still jerks when it shifts. Called Kia and they said wait a couple of days and reiterated that Kia has different engine so it runs and shifts differently from other cars. Waited 2 days and cars still jerks when it shifts. Called back Kia and schedule an appointment. This time the car is on 60k miles but they said theyll honor the warranty since I brought it with the issue before it hit 60k. So they did tests on it and they said they will file a case with Kia and see what Kia says. Kia recommended things to be done but they wont change the transmission. It became a regular routine to go to Kia every Tues or Wed for 2 months (imagine all the gas I spent going back and forth since the dealership is 24 miles away from my home.) Prob started in Dec. and last week of January they decided to change the computer box. It kind of run smooth for 3 weeks until it starts jerking again and now when it shifts to 4th gear. Brought it back to Kia and the service manager specifically said, There is something wrong with the transmission. We need to make a case for Kia to approve transmission change. So I told him I wanna make sure its still under warranty although its now on 62k miles since I first brought it with the same prob before it hit 60k. He said hell try his best since we have all the records. I waited almost a week for Kias reply again, and this time they want to reset something again but it will not be covered with the warranty since its now over 60! It is just ridiculous that I brought it with exactly the same prob before it hit the 60k miles! And I go back and forth to the service dept for 2 mos which is 24 miles away, of course the mileage will add up! And now they wont cover the warranty! Imagine, before it hit 60k miles, tranny probs already! Ridiculous! Will never ever buy a Kia car again! Warranty is BS. Worst car ever! Waste of money!

We purchased a 2013 Kia Soul because we have many friends and family who had recently done so and were happy. I have followed all of the warranty rules, I have had my maintenance done timely and have proof. My Kia out of nowhere sputtered twice with no dash warning lights on and died in the middle of the road. It was towed to Cardinal Kia where I was told by Ryan in service that my engine was blown, within 15 minutes he called me again and explained that he found a bulletin in the computer regarding this issue and told me changing the oil would fix the problem, I was skeptical. We picked the car up and less than half way home the car died and there was oil spewing out the motor all over. Now we have been left with no car not even a courtesy car and told we have to pay first for them to tear down the motor? Ive done all they have asked to ensure my warranty is in good standing and then this, my Kia has 50,000 kms on it. Im never going to buy another Kia and their customer service sucks, I have been hung up on and told my vehicle will sit in their parking lot untouched unless I pay for it.

I bought my Kia Carens from new 08 reg. I have had problems one after another with it. I have been complaining about the gear stick from almost the year I got the car. I got told it was the clutch that was the problem. I got a new clutch fitted but still got problems with changing the gears. I took it back and again got told it was my clutch. When I said it was a new clutch, I got told it must be fitted wrong, to take it back to the garage that fitted it. I did that and was told it was fitted okay. I took the car to another Kia dealer and they said it was the gear linkage and repaired it. A few days later, it started doing it again.I have told the Kia dealer that the gears are still not changing, that it jams. When trying to change gears, I have to turn off the engine and put it into gear before it will go. I still dont have that fixed. Then about two years ago, I got a noise coming from the engine. I took it back to the garage to get it fixed. It was the turbo that had blew. Three weeks later, I had the same trouble. I took it back again and got told the turbo had blown again, that it must have been a faulty turbo. Last Oct., I was at Aberdeen and the car stopped suddenly on the motorway. I had to get pushed into the side of the road by the police. I called the RAC out. The engine was flooded with oil. I was told that it was one of the fuel injectors that had gone. I had to hire a car to take me back home the next day and the RAC took my car back to Kia a few days later. I had to keep the hired car three weeks till I got mine back again. A new turbo was fitted. It turned out that it was the fuel injector leaking that was blowing the turbo. That was three turbos within a year that was fitted and every time my car is off the road, I have to hire a car as it is a disabled car and my husband was going through chemotherapy and I needed the car to take him to hospital. Now, I have a new problem with the electrics. I was out three weeks ago when my lights went out on the dashboard and the police were behind me and pulled me over. It turned out when the dashboard lights went out, so did my tail lights so I got a slip of paper from the police telling me I had been pulled over and I had 21 days to get the lights fixed. I phoned Kia and booked it in the next morning. I got told it would be Friday, 5 days after I was stopped. That was fine. I took the car in to get it fixed. It was in all morning. I got a call saying it was ready for pick up. I picked it up and was told it wasnt fixed. I had to wait for parts.I got a call later that day telling me it was booked in for Thursday. Last week, I got a call on Wednesday telling me not to take it in; the parts were still not in. I would get a call on Fri. telling me when to take it back to get fixed. I did not get the call. The car still hasnt been fixed and the 21 days the police gave me is up tomorrow. I had to call the police and explain that I am waiting for parts to come for it, and the garage cant stamp the slip till it has been fixed. Now I have to get a letter from Kia telling them that Im waiting for parts coming in. Thats 3 weeks Ive been waiting. I cant go out at night because if I touch the switch to indicate the lights go out. Its fine through the day when the lights are off. I will never buy another Kia car. It has been trouble since day one. If anyone asked me how I would rate Kia, I would say keep clear of them.

I have a 2013 Kia Sorento Dark Cherry. I have a problem with the paint on car. Most of all the paint on my hood in the very center is starting to bubble up and the dealership does not seem to be very concerned about it. They say it is not covered under warranty. Also I have been noticing the area were you open door is scratch from finger nail [per dealer] when you open door handle.

I recently purchased my new Kia Soul (July 2012) with the expectation of 34 mpg. I noticed that my gas mileage did not meet those numbers. I am averaging 28 mpg. I received an email from Kia wanting to reimburse me for the difference in the mpg’s ($163.00). However, they only want to reimburse me for the mileage I have used. What about the future mileage? I have a 5 year loan on this thing. What about the remaining 4 and 1/4 years’ worth. Somehow I feel I have been cheated.

I actually have not had a problem with my 2016 Kia Sorrento. It now has 40K miles and it has been relatively trouble free. Dealership was good and provided good service. Not so with Kia customer service. I exercised my purchase option over 50 days ago and have struggled getting a title from them or getting any assistance with temporary tags as the old tags expired. For anyone exercising your option to purchase make sure you do it through your dealership and not directly with Kia as they are completely inept and not helpful.

Kia defective forward collision avoidance being blown off. I called Kia Consumer Affairs after our local Kia technicians replicated a malfunctioning FCA system, reached out to the Kia Corporate Tech Line to troubleshoot, and the Tech-Line refused to acknowledge any issue. To them, if the Forward Collision Avoidance system was working while in Cruise control mode, it was functioning fine. The system is supposed to apply brakes and give an audible warning when NOT in cruise control. And it had worked - twice. But never again. Although it does apply brakes when in cruise control mode and a car slows down in front of you. In order to replicate the problem, the local techs nearly wrecked my car while doing a white-knuckle test without cruise control. No alarm went off / no brakes came on. The system was not functioning as advertised to prevent sudden collisions when driving in regular (non-cruise control) mode.I called Kia Consumer affairs and they opened a case number for me. They reached out to the dealership to confirm the problem their techs found. They said they would have a field-tech come and examine my car. BUT Field tech called the tech-line, who said there isnt a problem, and field-tech refused to come examine my car. Kia Consumer Affairs blew off the problem and said they cant go over the head of the Tech Line. Really? VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE since everything is circular and the Tech-Line is God. Its supposed to work on paper, so the Tech-line believes there couldnt possibly be an actual problem with their product. So much so, they REFUSE to have one of their corporate techs look at it in person to verify the problem themselves! So, this is a safety Hazard. I spent $$$ on a high end technology warranty package. The vehicle is just 1 year old, and the reason I purchased all the safety features is null and void. And there is nothing I can do about it. Kia Consumer Affairs Department has no power to request something to be looked into that the Tech-Line doesnt want to acknowledge. This is not right. Even the Kia Dealership cant believe this is happening. But they, like me, have no power. DO NOT BUY A KIA VEHICLE. They have a serious issue with this safety feature and refuse to look into it.

I was given a gas consumption card for $400.00. Kia Optima Hybrid Started on Its Own due to faulty push start. - Kia has an uncanny way of stating the same corporate line that the vehicle operates as designed when you tell them there is something wrong with the car. All one has to do is You Tube a woman who had a child in her Kia truck that took control of her and raced the car on a highway at speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour. This happened for over 30 miles and they settled with her only because it was on the police cam.In my case, my Kia literally started on its own and rolled down a hill into the woods. When I called Kia to tell them what had happened, they said the same line to me as they did to that woman with the truck. When I told Kia that the same situation was shown on You Tube where a lady had a Hybrid that she recorded to start on its own. Yet Kia is holding firm that the car does not want do that. The bottom line is Kia is a terrible car company. Of all of these complaints on here, we need real satisfaction. I think we should post everyday that Kia should not be the car company you want to deal with. I would like to hear from many of you. Perhaps in numbers, they will listen to us. Lets join up and be the David against Goliath. We will prevail. Please respond and lets get going. Thank you.

I bought a new 2012 Kia Sorento V6 a few months ago. The next morning at start up, the engine was very noisy. I found that when it sat for about an hour, the timing chain raps for about 5-10 seconds, very loud. I brought it back. They said they cant do anything, its normal. Well, thats just not true. No engine raps are normal. I contacted Kia company, went back and forth. Finally, I got a letter from them and they told me, too bad, feel free to sue us; we will not fix the engine.

I have made countless attempts to contact KIA for help and they have not once given me any option or even offered to check my car. I have letter and emails and even tried going to the BBB and no one NO ONE has ever bothered to help me.

I purchased a 2014 Kia Rio with 100 kms on the odo. I work as a service advisor at an auto shop so I knew the ins and outs of maintaining my car, had my car serviced regularly. In June 2016 my check engine light came on and heard clicking from my engine. Then clanking, then my car shut down. I had one of our mechanic to check my car and he said my engine seized. I checked Kia’s website to see if there was any recalls or issues with Kia Rios... There was a recall on 3 other models of Kia for the same issue but my car was not on the list. I called the dealership and they said there was nothing they could do for me because I was 17,000 kms past my warranty. I also called Kia’s head office and they said the same thing and tried to charge me for a new engine. Because I work at a shop I made my own arrangement and had them replace my engine with a used Kia engine with 33,000kms on it. $3,000 and a week later my car was back on the road. The mechanic was curious of the engine issue so he took it apart and saw the pistons broke (which was also the issue for the other Kias) so it’s been less than a year and with being paranoid I made sure my oil changes were done almost monthly. 38,000 kms later here we are again with another seized engine. Had an synthetic oil change done March 6th and April 6th a month to the day clicking coming from my engine. The tech checked the oil level and there was almost no oil in my engine. There was no leak... The techs think it was leaking internally. My pistons are gone yet again. I still owe $12,000 on a car that I can’t drive and Kia will not do anything about this. When I read these forums and other social outlets there are literally hundreds of complaints about these cars for mostly the same reason. I will be taking this higher and to the media if needed. Kia needs to take responsibility for building bad engines and robbing people of their money. This is unacceptable.

My husband was driving to town this past Sat. He lost control of the steering and brakes. We had a mechanic take a look. The crankshaft bolt broke and the pin sheared off. So we have had this Kia for 10 months. Paid almost $13,000 for it. It had 68,000 miles. It has almost 79,000 now. The mechanic said that the pin should have lasted the life of the Kia. So I go to a United States Government web site and am horrified. There are 5 recalls, and 12 suggested service calls for repair of parts that should last the life of the vehicle. Some of the repairs state that this default could cause serious accidents. Then on further investigation I find out there is a civil suit against Kia. There are 1,000s of people experiencing this problem. The real problem is that the gear behind the harmonic stabilizer was engineered wrong. Its too heavy. So even if you get the crankshaft pin replaced it happens again. The Govt. site is Odi.nhtsa.gov and I also found info at other credited web site and by reading the class action suit, Robinson et al v. Kia Motors Inc et al., case # 13-cv-00006 US District Court, type that into the tool bar. I have tried to contact Kia at 1800-333-4542, 1800-225-3193. I have emailed Greg **, Director of Regional Affairs at ** and Kia USA. My Kia is not safe to drive. It is alleged that Kia has known about these engineering defects for a long time. Its a lot to digest. I am heartbroken and with no funds to repair this Kia. I pay for a Kia Sorento that is unsafe to drive. When the crankshaft pin broke, it did damage to the belts, harmonic balancer, gear behind harmonic balancer. The cotter pin that sheared off as well, the oil pan seal. Wow, but I feel fortunate that no one was physically hurt. Maybe Consumer Affairs should do an article about this. 1,000s of Consumers are affected. Will it take fatalities for someone to address this?

Keep in mind that the Power Train Warranty is for 100,000 miles. I just have 43,000 miles on my vehicle. I bought a Kia Sorento based on their claims of safety and all the airbags they have. In Dec I was in an unfortunate accident. Luckily my children were not in the vehicle. I was hit from all sides by multiple vehicles. NOT ONE AIR BAG deployed. The passenger side doors were on the seats and the frame between the front and back seats was split in half (right where there is an airbag). Kia said that in this situation the airbags are not designed to deploy when hit in that fashion. So they are claiming no fault. The vehicle was totaled. If Kia is so safe with all their airbags and I was T-boned and hit from all sides then what type of situation do you have to be hit in in order for them to deploy. DO NOT TRUST THEM.

2011 Optima - We purchased this vehicle brand new 20 months ago at Big Red in Norman. No problems until approx. Jan/Feb, the engine started making bad noises. I took it to Big Red service dept. They treated us like we were idiots and they didnt hear anything. I took it back as it progressively got worse, only to be told they didnt know what the noise was but they could not fix it and sent us away. We traveled to Bob Howard Kia in Edmond, OK and wasted two weekends only to be sent away and told we never changed the oil! Its ridiculously disrespectful to us to assume we didnt take care of this brand new vehicle! We each have brand new cars and trucks in this family and each one of us care 100% for each vehicle. On time oil changes, all maintenance, etc! Finally, service manager, Todd **, said, Prove you did oil changes! Bring receipts! We spent a full week collecting as many receipts as humanly possibly! I drove back to Kia Edmond to show to service manager, Todd **, only to be told after another wasted day of waiting and given the runaround, at last he said, Oh but they didnt use Kia filters. Sorry, now I cannot help you! Nowhere does any document you sign buying a brand new car does it indicate you have to use a Kia filter only! This service manager was making things up as he went along to us! Very upset. Now, the car cannot even be driven! We need help ASAP or comments on what to do now? I contacted every single Oklahoma State Organization I could think of and Kia Edmond online several times and still not one phone call or email. Sad, sad, sad to drive a 10-year warranty vehicle along with extended warranty only to be turned down or totally ignored at every turn.

Tower Hill Garage Chipperfield Kings Langley Hertfordshire WD4 9LR - I had my car serviced on 25 July 2012. When I went to get into my car, I noticed the driver’s seat was dirty. One of the managers walked behind me and could see I had not got into the car. I said the staff member who serviced my car must have had dirty overalls. We both could see the plastic cover that should go right over the seat was only covering the back and not the seat-base. The manager said in 20 years this has never happened at this garage, it must have happened before! I said that I do not use dirty clothing. He could clearly see how I was dressed, smartly. Also, I work in an office and have to drive smartly. The manager went on to talk about a hole in the mat, which had no bearing on what we were talking about. Then he went on to say he was happy to book it in to be cleaned, also the service manager walked past and smirked at me! The service manager originally told me when I arrived to pick up my car, to sit in the waiting area as they were having to complete my paperwork, which I later found out the car was still on the test drive, in which it had not been finished. I had to wait over 15 minutes to then pay for my car. This should have been explained to me! I am sorry to say the service manager did have a bad attitude. My conclusion to this was the garage staff did not like the fact that this is only a 22-month-old car with 11,950 miles on the clock and this was my first service and kept saying this should have been serviced, 10 months or 10,000 miles. The garage is fully aware that in the first year I had only completed 3,500 miles because I had to have an operation. Therefore, I did not see the sense in paying out good money for such small mileage. Again the garage staff were informed several times and clearly told me not to worry. All this experience has led me into - I will not be purchasing a Kia again nor will I be going back to this garage until I receive an apology and a gesture of goodwill.

My Kia Sorento was almost 5yrs. I did lots of highway run so it had miles beyond 100,000 thousand, but this vehicle was maintained as recommended and only by the dealer from which it was purchased. Driving along and without any warning it just blew up. Towed it to the dealer and of course they don’t know what could have caused it. I Googled and found out that others have problems with these vehicles. I contacted Kia Motors and a lady by the name of Heather told me theres an investigation into these vehicles and my vehicle was one of them. She said not to worry I’ll be given a loaner and my vehicle will be fixed and someone will get back to me.To date no one from Kia Motors has gotten back to me. A message was left on my phone by Kevin, and I returned his call 4 times leaving messages twice to no avail. It was someone from my dealership called to say my vehicle was not included so Kia was not responsible. In trying to see if my insurance would cover this I paid said dealer to strip the engine and they said the third cylinder blew through the engine block. (approx. a $7,000 fix) The insurance personnel took a look and said it’s a mechanical problem they will not cover.GUESS WHO IS LEFT HOLDING THE BAG? Me the consumer! I will give a 2 star because I seem to have gotten way better service from the vehicle than most of the others that I have read, but I still think Kia is lacking towards their customers. It cannot be right for big companies to be getting away with doing things like this to poor consumers.

I have had 4 Kias now, 2012 Rio and 2014 Soul both 4 years, 2017 Sportage and 2014 Optima. No problems with any of them but we are low mileage drivers. A word of warning, there are recalls on the 2011 to 2014 4 cylinder engines for failure. Also, get your oil changed at the Kia dealer, their filters are very good and have a unique property of allowing oil to pass thru on start up. Do not use 5w20 in over 60F weather, its a government scam to get better gas mileage, use the owners manual to determine what viscosity you should use, during the winter I let them put in their 5w20, during the summer I insist on 5w30. I hope not to have the problems I have read about. Good luck.

Returning home from Military School my Kia Niro broke down. Waited 5 hours in 6 degree weather to get my car towed on a Sunday. Closest Kia Dealer closed and no car rentals close. They offered no option. I Ubered to the airport. Got a rental to finish the remaining 7 hours of a 13 hour trip. Exhausted. Hungry. Once home began the work of what’s wrong with my car, getting the rental paid and how do I get it back. It took TWO MONTHS to get my car back. The diagnosis? Manufacturer error and no specific reasoning why my car suffered a break down no one could figure out until a technician was finally sent out to take a look. Couldn’t figure it out so just did a ‘hard reset’ and then it was fixed. No idea what the problem was though AND THEN it had physical body damage and before I drove it off the lot, called Mr. Charles ** (case representative) to figure out how to rectify this. Said there’s nothing he can do. His job is to reunite me with the car not the quality of service done on the vehicle. I am abhorred with how I’ve been treated every step of the way. The reliability of KIA CONSUMER OVERALL is not even worth 1 star. My car is not reliable and neither is Kia’s customer service. As a Kia owner and supporter of the rejuvenated products and brands, I had to tell you about my experiences that are still on-going with the dealer and service franchisees/network that Kia seem to be straddled with.On July 13, I brought my car in to City World Kia in the Bronx, which, in and of itself, was a nightmare. You see, the greater New York Metro area has very few dealers to choose from and those that are members of your network are very suspect at best and downright dishonest and awful in reality.Having called Jason at customer service (Kia USA), it was clear he could only be limited in his effectiveness as he constantly and repeatedly told me that the dealers were independent and that Kia USA could not directly get involved to help the service process along. This was seven days into leaving my car there without even a call or return about my inquiries. That was very frustrating since it is in Kias best interest to make sure that their dealer and service network are not only trained well, but also provide the best service that they can as competition, as you know, is fierce.Unfortunately, Jason (of Kia USA Customer Service) didnt follow-up after I asked him if I could pass along my frustrations to the district manager (who he said was not available to the public) and we ended the call with him giving me an ID # 28-2003701. No call or any updates as he was ignored by City World KIA as well. All he could say was, sorry Mr. ** and Ill do what I can, which is nothing. I also talked to Kathryn ** at the corporate office and Crystal **, who closed my case after she did nothing to get my car fixed. This, in and of itself, was the most insulting since she ignored four phone calls that I made. When I called Justina, another service representative, just to speak to someone on August 17, she, at least, called me back twice to tell me she had to send the case to the executive level because it was closed by Crystal (after Jason gave it to executive, he didnt and couldnt do anything). Amazed, shocked and insulted -- my car still wasnt fixed. So why should I get frustrated if my Borrego was lost at City World for a week? Why should I be upset that Kia USA did absolutely nothing to move my car along after I took it out of City World Kia and after they finally found it (yes, they lost it)? Why then should I be insulted and feel demeaned after Lash Kia couldnt provide a loaner car because I waited a month to have them get some parts in to do the work? It has been three days and I am still waiting for Lash Kia to finish their work on the Borrego. And when I talked to David, the service associate who I originally spoke with about my horrifying experience with City World KIA, he was upset and was correcting me that I have to wait to get the additional parts in. Do they think at Kia that their customers dont need their cars? Do they treat all of their customers like this? So, I found myself waiting with no car despite giving Lash Kia a month to get the recall parts and do the work they needed to do. Afterwards, they told me that the car and the issues Ive raised (and youll love this) are operating within manufacturers parameters. I was told that the 4WD hang up sometimes when it is engaged and does the same thing when you want to disengage it. What? Are they kidding? So, after over a month of waiting and fixing the delaminated rotors myself for safety reasons, I am treated like an imbecile. Kia USA ignored me despite my sending emails to six of their executives and being promised a promotion for my troubles. Wow! I wonder if the head office in South Korea is aware of the poor level of service and treatment of their customers in North America. Each time, I had to call the service department and they were upset with me whenever I inquired as to the status of the car. With City World, I called after four days and I was not able to speak with Nick, a service technician who was supposedly fired, until the end of that first week. Moreover, the claim by Carlos, the service manager, was that they were busy and I had nine items to check. But then again, I found out that the special technician was out of town until the end of the week. The same thing happened at Lash when a seemingly competent Tania ** went on vacation while my car was with them. Only after I called three times did I get David to call me back to tell me they were waiting for another part despite me trying to avoid leaving my car at another dealership for three more days without any notice or update. On the basis that the service options for Kia automobiles are so restricted in this area to ramshackle chop shops, their on-line service appointment system was a complete waste as the request and ensuing specifics about why I was bringing the car in was not even received by City World. Its something of a phishing feature and, yes, this is something that Kia should be concerned about. How can Kia USA ignore an area with 16 million people? Had I been working for Kia, I would make every effort to get new licensees with state-of-the-art service centers, show rooms, and sales and service people that can, at least, spell! Ive owned Hondas, Acuras, Mercedes-Benz, Mazdas and BMWs over the years and not once have I been so blown away by the complete incompetence, indifference, filth, poor service, etc. by the Kia brand. My bottom line is that Kia needs desperately to upgrade all of the areas I mentioned and Id be happy to stay with them because I am thrilled by the renaissance over the years from the disastrous Hyundai Pony of the 80s to the thrilling designs and engineering of the line-up today. Unfortunately, the dealer and service network is so wanting and deficient that Kia will lose sales on that basis alone which is truly a shame! As for my poor car, I brought it in for the following reasons: Service Campaign CS005 (rear seat carpet replacements), defective windshield washer motor, defective hatch-rear light, wheezing and clunky CD player, popping and knocking sound under the passenger seat, slow-shifting transmission, 4WD that gets stuck in low (requiring a reboot by shutting off the car and rolling it), front brakes that have either got warped or delaminating rotors causing serious vibration, a possible leak in the fluid, and poor suspension which causes the vehicle to hop and jump over road seems and bumps. I understand that it is a truck-tuned suspension, but it is unsafe to corner with the Borrego because of the serious steering issues when hitting any bumps at all. I neglected to tell them about the inside weather seals that are dropping off and that need to be reset on all four doors, but hey, I just wanted them to deal with the safety issues. Oh, and I asked about how to clean the cloth seats and all I got was a comment to use regular upholstery cleaner. Gee, thanks, considering that they are staining so easily, that my daughters damp swimsuits left water stains on all of the seats in the back. Great quality! Considering the service so far (or total lack thereof), I dont expect anything and absolutely will never buy a Kia or recommend one again. In fact, what Kia has done (especially Kia USAs total lack of interest in assisting me with their independent dealer network and their promises that were left unfilled) is that instead of bringing a customer back in the fold, they have created an absolutely incensed customer who will use every opportunity to enlighten anyone about the dealer network and the corporate reality of Kia USA as a paper kitten when dealing with their dealers and their customers. As it is, I had to drive some 12 miles from my home to get bounced from the dealership to the service area because I couldnt bring myself to go to the Yonkers location. No communication from Jason or anyone as they close the files regardless if the case was resolved or not. The reason that major corporations run into significant problems is that their field experts do not have the ability to end licensees relationships, or just decide not to, simply because they are selling cars. Imagine how many more they would sell if they did not have dealerships like City World Auto, Yonkers Kia, the fraudsters at Major World and Nemet (who tried to bait and switch me, posting cars they didnt have on-line), and Smithtown Kia.Right now, I am sitting, waiting and expecting for a call. I would likely get some huge bill with nothing covered under the warranty despite the car having only 32,000 miles on it. I shudder to think how much more effort Ill have to make to get my car back without any damage being done to it. Can Kia USA help? No. Hopefully, this letter will shake up the district managers and their managers. Kia might sell even more cars and create happy, grateful repeat customers! I, unfortunately, will never be one of them.

Kia Motors wanted to charge me $470 to replace a timing belt on my auto. I refused and, two months later, my engine was destroyed. Kia stated I violated my warranty and failed to honor its Powertrain Warranty. It was brought out in litigation that the timing belt was covered and that Kia Motors has a conflict between their warranty and their required maintenance schedule. The issue that really needs to be addressed here is that the courts are allowing Kia Motors to enforce a limited liability clause to limit the damages in a lawsuit, but the clause the judges are using is not a clause that applies to Kia Motors express warranties.

If youre thinking of buying a Stinger...DONT! Multiple defects, 4 recalls ALREADY, rust coming through paint and chrome. All around bad decision when I bought this car. Save the hassle, save your money and buy a different brand of car. Managers and service department cannot seem to communicate so Im hiring an attorney to get my money back for this overpriced piece of metal. Paint job really sucks. I have cracked paint from front windshield to back windshield and was told not to wash the car! Are you kidding me? Most expensive car Ive ever owned and I cant even wash it?! Im so done! The speedometer on my 2005 Kia Spectra sometimes doesnt read my speed correctly. The first time the incident occurred, it was almost 2 years ago. I only had the car for a day. While at the red light, the speedometer said I was driving 60 mph. When I started moving, it went up to 120 mph. The following day, I took the car back to the dealer, they checked it and explained to me that they couldnt find anything wrong with the speedometer. A week ago, today, I got a speeding ticket for driving 60 mph in a 40 mph zone. After getting the ticket, as soon as I started driving, I noticed the speedometer at 50 mph. I noticed immediately that the speedometer was acting up again. I stopped the car to confirm. After coming to a complete stop, the speedometer was still reading 40 mph and then the hand started slowly moving downwards. The following morning, I took the car in to my nearest Kia dealer where they checked it, said they ran a test and placed it on their computers but couldnt find anything wrong or any error codes so theres nothing they could do. Now I have to go to court, pay a speeding ticket, get points on my license all for something thats not my fault and something I cant fix nor the dealer can fix. So Im going to need Kia to fix this!

I purchased at 2012 Kia Rio with 96k Miles on it. I had a certified Mechanic Run the Codes on it. Nothing was coming up however this car still has engine issues. I search the internet and no one can explain why it sounds like a hammer and anvil going down the road. One foreign guy pointed out aluminum shavings in the oil pan and explained he measured the pistons to be too short and causing undue wear and tear. I even have a check engine light that goes on and off before I can check the reason why. As it turns out even back within 5 years from 2012 new buyers could not get this issue resolved with Kia Offical dealers. Im stuck with this car. Will the engine blow? Will it damage other components? It is impossible to know. The car is old enough people are owed a solution.

I arrived to Kia at 8 am on Saturday 2-18/17 because my car was making noises when I pressed on the brakes. After 2 hours the rep came to the waiting room to speak to another customer and when finished he yelled across the room at me maam your car probably needs brakes then walked off...duh. I told them that when I got there. After another 30 min the same guy came to me stating my car needed brakes and they dont have them and it will be a few days before they can get them. My options are 1. drive away and come back in a few days to have my brakes changed and try not to drive too much because if additional parts go bad I will have to pay a lot more and they may not have all the parts...they really told me that. 2. Pay for a rental car until the parts come in and they can get replaced. They refused to get me a liner at no fee. 3. They could order some brakes from the auto parts store nearby and use them, but they may be noisy and not last. Wtf. I drive a Kia Sorento 2014, I come to KIA to get KIA parts. This is the first and last time I come here. So horrible.

My Sorento has already had one expensive 4-wheel alignment due to pulling to one side and is now doing it again. The vehicle has 36,000 miles on it with the overwhelming majority of the mileage on the interstate. I do not travel on dirt or gravel roads. What is up with these alignment issues?

In December 2008, I bought a 2009 model of Kia Picanto. I was given the 5-year, 100,000-km warranty book. At present, my car has made 80,000 km thus far. Apart from the 1st 1,000 km free service, no one informed me that I had to maintain my car using only the Kia workshop. Over the years, I had maintained my Kia car and kept the receipts showing that I had serviced my car, but recently, it developed a problem in the engine. I went to the Kia workshop to ask if I could use my 5-year, 100,000-km warranty to fix the problem. But upon arriving there, the person at the reception informed me that it was not possible because there were no previous records in the Kia workshop of my car. I had explained from my own side that I had serviced my car on a regular basis, and changed the necessary parts bought in the Kia store/workshop, but was given the same answer. I feel that my 5-year, 100,000-km warranty rights were denied to me. I am certain that I would not want to deal with Kia Motors any more unless, if somehow, someone from this company tries to convince me otherwise.

I brought my daughters ‘14 Sorento to Kia Coral Springs 5/30 for regular service as well as an evaluation of a serious situation relative to the paint peeling off several areas of the car not affected by road stones or anything other than a factory defect. I brought it first to a paint and body shop and was told in 2 minutes to bring it to Kia consumer affairs. It was in his expert opinion, clearly a factory defect issue. There were photos taken at the dealership and passed on to the local Kia representative responsible for evaluating any type of bodywork. I just heard from Kia corporate consumer affairs and because the warranty expired, regardless what caused the problem, it’s the owners responsibility. I have a friend who had the exact same situation last year with a Nissan product...also expired warranty and also a factory defect causing the paint to peel. They repainted the car and now have a loyal Nissan customer for life.As a result, I will have her car painted and promptly trade it in for anything other than another Kia product. I will share this story of a very short-sighted company with anyone contemplating the purchase of a Kia in the future. The reverse would have been true if this company was more open minded and interested in promoting goodwill. Their fault, but easy way out was turn a blind eye to what’s right and hide behind “their” warranty protection. Kia, one and done!

I have a 2018 Kia, Sorento. I have been trying to get blind spot mirrors since the the day I purchase it in Nov. 2017. After being told by the dealers salesman, then parts department (Napelton Kia in Elgin, IL.,) I contacted KIA online. I had a chat with Alexis (Friday 6/29/18 at 5:14 CDT). When asked why I couldnt look up parts for my 2018 KIA Sorento, she replied that the parts department had not update (sp) them yet. I should contact their parts specialist sometime MON-FRI from 6:30 A.M.-5:00 P.M. PST. When I said that not having someone to answer parts questions all the time was archaic, the conversational attitude changed. I told her that I had purchased 2 new KIAs this year for cash, her reply was We do not accept cash, sir. You must be confusing us with the dealer. Of course I was talking about the dealer! I cant buy from the manufacturer! That doesnt change the fact that I spent over $40,000 with this company. All I got was the corporate run-around from them. Very disappointed and wish I had bought the Subarus I had been looking at.

This vehicle has had over 20 major repairs and/or factory recalls in less than 60k miles at over $20,000.00 at retail. The problems are still there and they refused to resolve the issues during the last year of the warranty. I hired a lawyer and was paid for my inconveniences along with a promise in writing to repair the issues. I took it to a dealer and the factory Kia Service rep refused to inspect the vehicle. Paul ** is the National service manager and a pathological liar. This vehicle (and many other Kias) were given the lowest rating ever by J.D. Power and associates. In other words, they make very poor vehicles, using the cheapest of materials, and refuse to honor the written warranty. I am forwarding a substantial file to senior executive managers shortly to ensure that they are aware of the policy practices of staff like Paul, who is orchestrating fraud, with intent. This will also ensure the company cannot claim ignorance of the behavior of a rogue employee. It is clear this company is committing fraud on a massive scale and is well aware of this. Interestingly, Hyundai behaved in the same fashion, about 15/20 years ago, and were almost bankrupt as a result of consumer backlash. All the execs and directors were eventually fired. It is time for the same to happen to Kia execs. Hyundai owns the majority of Kia shares. It should be noted that Kia recalled 146,000 vehicles last years for airbags which did not work. My vehicle eventually got a similar recall (not included in the large recall). Kia and its dealers were aware of the airbag issues but refused to act upon it until they were forced to do so. In other words, they are responsible for possible deaths and/or serious injury to many people who trusted this company to behave ethically. They do not. They were aware of the airbag issues years before the recall was forced upon them. We need to start a large program to warn the world of this companys willingness to defraud and to injure without concern. If everyone starts talking on social media about the phony warranty and the inherent problems of all Kias - we will bring them to their knees - where they belong.

I leased a Kia Optima from Kia of West Nyack NY. I had paid for lease & wear coverage ($449) because it was my first Kia. I wasn’t sure if I would lease again from them. Didn’t want to get hit with a high bill at the end of lease. So 3 years go by I return my lease. Get my cost $750 end of lease fees. Which would have been fine if the dealership didn’t pocket the $449. They never purchased the coverage. When I called the company to file my claim. The paperwork & brochures were from. They said they never worked with Kia of West Nyack. WOW bunch of crooks! They were selling the dealership & knew I wouldn’t know until 3 years later. This company didn’t make it right. Which tells me a lot about How they care about their customers. All I asked was for $250 of additional cost. The other monies I would have had to pay regardless. Don’t buy Kia!!!!

The week after I bought my Kia, the Kia dealership in my neighborhood changed to a Lexus. You would have thought the sales team would have told me when selling me my car. I thought I was getting a dealer near my place for easy repairs. So when I broke down with a flat tire, I called roadside. Im on a lease so covered. But they said I had to have my car towed to two cities away unless I wanted to pay for it and apply for reimbursement. They said Id just have to wait for my reimbursement. That reimbursement was denied after two months of waiting. According to Kia, I should have had my car towed and repaired over an hour away rather than the block from my house at the Discount Tire center I took it to.Trying to get them to respond is also a system set up to make the customer just give up: youre not allowed to talk directly to the department making the decision. Each call is to another department that has to advocate for you. That department is always backed up with calls. So to get 300 dollars back from an allegedly covered roadside service need, it has taken three months and it was denied because they closed the Kia dealership in my city.

I have put up with 5 years of extremely poor customer service and vehicle service with KIA, Northland, Calgary. I have completed numerous surveys outlining my negative experiences and have never heard back once from KIA Canada. This last issue started on May 22, 2014, when I brought my car in for regular maintenance and to get the the defrost fixed as no air was blowing through the defrost vents. When I left I was told they had to order a part. I brought my vehicle back on June 13th. It was in the shop all afternoon. When I picked my car up I was told it was all fixed and right on the invoice it states retested all good. When I got in my car it was exactly the same, it was not fixed at all. Shane, the manager, came out and had a look and witnessed that the defrost was not working at all, no air was coming from the defrost! He changed a very dirty filter in the glove compartment. Of course I was very angry that I was told it was fixed and it was not, as the previous year I had the exact same experience but that time I had to bring my car back 3 times before it was fixed. Twice I was told verbally and in writing on the invoice, the problem was fixed when it was not. That is another KIA experience for another time. At this time I was told they would order every part possible to ensure it get fixed as now they are not sure what the problem is. So Shane said they will call when the part the comes in which should be within the next couple of weeks. I did not hear back from KIA at all. Finally I called KIA on Tuesday, August 26th (almost two months later) and spoke to Shane. He stated he would find out what was happening and call me back later in the day or first thing the next day. No return call, I finally called on Friday August 29th at 5 PM. I had to leave a message as all agents were busy so I left a very pointed message that I expected a call back regarding my issue. Their message indicated they were open till 5:30 PM. I did not get a return call from Shane until Monday at which time I was told the part would be in Tuesday or Thursday for sure and he would call me on one of those days to set up a time to come in. NO RETURN CALL YET AGAIN. I called today Monday, Sept 8 at 4:30 PM and spoke to Shane. And yes I was beyond angry, it is now snowing and cold and I have no defrost in my vehicle. I Do not believe the part was on back order. I do believe they did not order the part. Even if it was on back order not once was I contacted over the summer nor were calls ever returned as promised. I have had to initiate every contact during this whole issue. This does not really surprise me as the last 5 years (for warranty) I have dealt with much of the same and worse. I will never buy another KIA based on the horrible customer service and the apparently incompetent mechanics they employ. After all this time I even question whether or not the maintenance they say they do is actually done.

I have a 2011 Kia Sorento that acts like it’s not getting fuel or not changing gears. I took it into the dealership for this and they changed something in the shifter. For a few weeks it seemed fixed. When it began to act up again I called dealership and was told that I had brought my car in for a different reason and now that my warranty was up I would be required to pay for any service that I had done. I was asked what kind of light was coming on when the car acts up. I told them that no light comes on. Then I was pretty much told that I was stupid. If my car is doing like I was saying then there had to be a light on. My car just gets worse and worse. Sometimes it’s going along fine and then the rpm jumps to 5 or 6 and the car acts like its down shifting and doesn’t want to go. Then the rpm will drop below 1. Sometimes when you take off from a stop sign or traffic light it shifts really hard and makes a clunking noise like the transmission is going to fall to the ground. I too like a lot of others, chose the Kia for the great warranty, but when the dealership is always saying there’s nothing wrong that makes the warranty useless. Just because I’m female doesnt mean I’m stupid. And I dont like being treated that way.

In January 2008, I bought a 2007 KIA Spectra from Kia Brampton, with a 5-year or 100,000-km. warranty. All went well until December 26, 2012 when the vehicle was at 99,950 km. The oil light started to come on and off. It was towed to KIA Brampton where they declared the vehicle okay but proceeded to empty the oil and place clean oil therein. I was told to return the vehicle every week for check up which I did every week until March when KIA finally confirmed that the vehicle did have problem. Then they told me they will contact me after they get in touch with KIA Canada. In March, they took in the vehicle and claimed to change the rings, which they assumed was the problem. However, within two weeks, the same problem resurfaced and I took back the vehicle to KIA Brampton. The car was checked and we were told by the Service Manager that the change of the ring was a goodwill gesture and the warranty has expired and in general, when vehicles reach the end of the warranty, KIA seems to think that people want to con them to recondition the engine and hence they would not be able to help us. KIA Brampton recommended that we contact KIA Canada re the problem.I contacted KIA Canada about the problem and was told by the Customer Service representative, Malia, on May 24, 2013 that the KIA could not assist me because the vehicle has passed its warranty period. I refuted this of course on the basis that the problem with the vehicle was detected before the warranty period expired. I asked to speak to a supervisor and after being put on hold for 15 minutes, I was told that the Supervisor was busy and but will contact me within 24 hours. On Wednesday, May 29, 2013, I finally received a call from a Sandy from KIA Canada about the matter. I again requested that KIA honor the warranty and fix the vehicle. Sandy said she had nothing to add to what Malia told me because KIA Brampton fixed the problem in March based on their diagnosis and now that the car is over the warranty period, KIA is not responsible for any repairs.

Leased a Kia Sorento early 2016 brand new. No problems that I noticed other than the engine oil got dirty and more dirty every time it was changed. Shortly after my oil was changed the last time, the engine started making a clicking noise then it all of a sudden blew. Dark smoke came out the exhaust. The car cut back on long enough to get home then it didnt cut back on. Had Kia tow it to get maintenance only to have the warranty company refused to pay for repairs. Was told that there was sludge in the engine and was asked to provide service receipts, which I did. I am not a rich person to just pull 5000 dollars out of my pocket and pay for a repair especially if I am not at fault. I told Kia to take the car as a voluntary repossession. No word since. Purchased a 2011 Kia Sorrento brand new (less than 100 miles on it) in August of 2014. Went to bring it in for a simple camera replacement that would be covered under the 5 year/60k warranty, only to find out that the warranty started back in 2011 when the car was placed on the lot. So by the time I purchased the car, there were only 2 years left of the warranty unbeknownst to me (even though they sold me the car as new --certainly not a demo). Conveniently no one is able to resolve this issue -- hitting a wall with kiaconsumeraffairs, and the dealership is just not helpful altogether. This is my second Kia, and will now be my last. A lot of headache over a quick repair. Curious if all dealerships do this to lessen the chance of someone making a claim under the warranties -- have them all start prior to the car being sold.

My family bought a brand new Kia Sorento from this dealership 7 months ago and it almost took their lives on the highway when the car suddenly stalled and stopped. We had our car towed to the dealership and they told us that the alternator was the problem and that our mechanic had spilt oil into it and it wasnt a warrantable item. We choose to not to believe them and had the car towed out and the alternator inspected and we found out that it was a failed part that they dont make any more for Kias. We sent the alternator to them after they told us to, to show them that they were putting peoples lives in danger and that they should have warrantied it and paid for it but instead they call us and tell us no. Instead of taking care of us they keep spinning this around trying to take advantage of us just so they do not have to pay. Keep your family safe and dont bother buying a car from here. Were not gonna give up. Were gonna make sure to fight this cause this is a crime.

I purchased a new Kia Rio 2012 on March 7, 2012. The AC was not working after 2 months. To get an appointment, I waited for 10 days. After repairing, they have not rectified the complaints, so they checked again. I found AC compressor complaints and they told me to wait for 15 to 20 days to get the parts. This is too bad. What should I do for this? I’m 20 or 30 days without a car.

I purchased a Kia 2004 Sorento from a local Kia dealer. About 2 years before the warranty was up (I bought it used from them and they only gave me the remaining 1st 5 year warranty), the car started making loud noises from the transmission/transfer case area. Then, while driving on the highway, the wheel basically locked up. I contacted the dealer, took it in, and they replaced a few parts but did not find out what was actually going on. After getting the car back, about 2 weeks later, it started again so I took it in again to them. They changed the oil in the front and told me to drive some more. Then 30 days before my warranty was up, it acted up again, and I took it in and they did nothing but check the oil again. So, almost 2 months later (30 days give or take after the warranty was up), my transfer case went out. I blew a seal and almost totally destroyed it. I took it back to Kia in Liberty Lake, WA and they told me that they would not cover it because it was not the main reason I kept bringing it in for. After researching, I found that this seemed to be a known issue with them and if their shop would have taken the time to check everything, they could have saved all those visits and unnecessary repairs. So, they wanted just under $5,000 to replace the transfer case. Well, I owed only $8,000, so to me, this was not right. I had to search around for a used transfer case because I had Torque on Demand version which was very hard to locate. I found a used one and had it replaced and only after 1 year later, the same exact thing occurred. Now that Ive had this car for a while and it is older, I have found so many people with the same issue but Kia refuses to do anything. You cannot tell me they do not know that this is a major issue. When the first time the wheel locked up, I was in major traffic and on the 2nd time, I was still in traffic but was lucky no one was behind me. I do not understand why/how KIA is not being made to replace these. Oh, and the manager at the service center put in his system that I refused service so that kept me from getting help from the dealer or corporation. Wow! Yes, I refused service on a lemon car.
