2025 Hyundai Ioniq 6

The 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 6 is a sleek, aerodynamically optimized electric sedan blending eye-catching style with efficient long-range performance and modern comfort.

Available in two drivetrain options: the base RWD version features a single rear motor generating around 225 hp and about 258 lb‑ft torque. The Dual Motor AWD model ups output to approximately 320 hp with combined torque nearing 446 lb‑ft, offering brisk acceleration. For most buyers, the rear-drive version hits 0–60 mph in the low‑6‑second range; the AWD model drops that to about 5.0 seconds.

Battery capacity is around 77.4 kWh usable in all trims. RWD variants achieve up to about 341 miles of EPA estimated range on 18-inch wheels; AWD and larger-wheel models reduce range to the 272–289 mile band depending on wheel size. Drag coefficient is impressively low (~0.21 Cd), aiding both efficiency and high-speed stability.

Charging supports up to 233 kW DC fast charging, enabling 10–80% recharge in as little as 18 minutes at compatible stations. A 10–60% charge can be reached in roughly 12 minutes. Home Level 2 charging fills the battery overnight in 7–9 hours.

Stylish and modern inside, the cabin features a curved 12.3‑inch digital gauge cluster paired with a 12.3‑inch infotainment touchscreen. Ambient lighting, customizable digital themes, and an available head‑up display enhance the futuristic vibe. Interior surfaces include eco‑friendly vegan leather and recycled materials. Rear seat legroom is generous at around 42 inches, and trunk space is approximately 14.1 cu ft, with a frunk providing about half a cubic foot.

Drive dynamics are rewarding for a sedan: responsive steering, composed ride, and customizable regen braking with one‑pedal drive mode. At highway speeds, lane‑keeping assist and adaptive cruise work smoothly, and many users praise the refined ride on highways and twisty roads alike.

Standard safety includes forward collision warning, lane‑keep assist, blind‑spot monitoring, and automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection. Top trims add Highway Driving Assist, rear cross‑traffic alert, and multi‑angle surround‑view cameras.

Trim levels run from base Sel to mid-tier Limited and luxury-grade Limited AWD. Higher tiers offer features like ventilated heated seats, Bose premium audio, power rear sunshade, glass roof, and upgraded metallic paint. Pricing starts near US $42,000 for the base RWD model, around US $51,000 for the Limited RWD, and about US $55,000–56,000 for Limited AWD. In Canada, RWD versions begin in the mid‑C$50Ks and climb into the low‑C$70Ks for AWD Limited configurations.

Owners and reviewers frequently commend the Ioniq 6 for its design, relaxed efficiency, and premium interior feel at a competitive price. Drawbacks include limited trunk space compared to traditional sedans, occasional infotainment lags, and a slightly firm ride on larger wheels.

Overall, the 2025 Ioniq 6 offers a refined, aerodynamic, and efficient alternative in the electric sedan segment—combining striking looks with strong range and versatile comfort.

All I have to say is that the description provided by the sales person of this vehicle Tucson 2017 I leased is so inaccurate. He described this vehicle as good gas mileage, features, and speed. First of all he said 25mpg in city and 29mpg on highway, I travel a lot and it takes way less than that. Second of all key fob does not open the trunk even though it has a picture of the open trunk on it, I believe it is false advertisement, as it show that pic. I will read the manual and see what it say, to take further actions on this. I just dont know why would it have that pic if it will only unlock it, makes no sense for that use the unlock button. Third people are not trained well as when I called in to check if it was an electric problem the person who answer said that she checked the users manual and it was supposed to unlock it. Ask me to bring it to service to check. When I took it there, the service guy cut me off and said nope it only unlocks it and walked away, not even let me finish my question, so I had to leave, because no one will pay attention to me after they heard him saying that. Then they call me for my plates, the receptionist completely ignored me for a while, they gave me the plates and ask me if I want some one to help me put the plates. I said yes gratefully, and she page someone in service, after waiting for 30 minutes decided to leave as no one showed. This is the first time I ever review someone, so I dont know what else to put, but what I can tell you is that it is the WORSE purchase/contract I ever did. I wish I can return the car, but it will kill my credit so I have to stick with it. I hope you read this before buying/leasing a car and dont go for a Hyundai or not go to that Hudson Hyundai in NJ. I will read the manual and see what it says about the key fob, maybe it is false advertisement, and I will post it here. Dont get stocked in a car like this, it REALLY SUCKS, to live with it for three years.

I purchased a 2007 Hyundai Sonata in 2008. My daughter has a 2006 Hyundai Sonata that she purchased in 2008. Her sun visors broke and hang down in the way. Now my driver side sun visor is broke and hangs down in the way. If this was just one vehicle, I wouldnt think too much about it. But now it has happened to both of us. The metal bar that the sun visor is on just will not turn in the plastic part to go up and down. And the plastic part broke. I did call Hyundai at 800-633-5151 to see if there were any recalls. I was advised by Jared that there were no recalls. I think there needs to be a recall, because I am sure it cannot just be our 2 cars. I did ask if there was anything that could be done. My car is over the year and mileage (64000). Thanks.

I purchased a brand new 2015 Hyundai Genesis on Dec 5 2015 and began having problems almost immediately with check engine light flashing and the car not starting and locking up on me? I traded my 2014 Kia Cadenza in on this car with 14,000 miles on it and only had to change the oil 2 times with NO problems! I took my car in for service and had the electrical harness replaced 2 times and ECM replaced but the same problem with the electronics persisted after 7 times in for service in 5 months. I resorted to the Lemon Law in Nj in April 2016 with 2500+ miles on my Genesis. Still making payments and full coverage insurance on my car. Finally I was given a court date in May 22 2017 but a week before Hyundai Motors of America (HMA) made an offer thru my Lemon Law attorney to buy the car back and I just wanted to get this mess resolved because the car has been in the shop since May 5 2017 and the Tech havent found the problem yet?Today is August 10 2017 and my nightmare continues. I dont have the settlement I was promised by HMA yet. NO car. The dealer took the loaner back after several weeks and the Lemon Law attorney has been telling me the settlement checks have been ordered but I am STILL making car payments and FULL coverage on a car that I cant drive and NOBODY is looking out for my interests the attorney seems to work for HMA instead of me? This has been the worst summer of my life! NEVER again HMA!

When we purchased our 2020 Venue we had no idea there were no parts. We had to wait so long for our snow tires that we got into an accident. The car has been at the autobody for over a month because Precision Hyundai says they have no parts. Heaven only knows when we will get our car returned or how long we will have to wait to get the snow tires installed. They were wonderful until we purchased the car. Then no service. I would never purchase another Hyundai.

Incident: vehicle (2016 Genesis 3.8 AWD) completely lost throttle power in the MIDDLE of a busy road. Fortunately no property or personal damage occurred. Car was towed and ALL rentals from local dealers were out secondary to Sonata recalls. Defects were found to be throttle body and actuator. Reason for the complaint: 1. Vehicle was purchased brand new, less than 40K and 3 year old vehicle shouldnt have such a defect. 2. Since all local rentals are out, Hyundai/Genesis did not take the initiatives to offer customer with an alternatives and follow ups are very slow and ineffective. Hence the complaint, and shame on their boast of 100,000 warranty guarantee.

I bought this from a certified dealer in Myrtle Beach who told me the 10-year 100,00 was transferable to me. Otherwise, I wouldnt have bought it. Ive had problems with the airbag light. I took it to a different dealer who now charged me to fix it saying the wiring was bad under the passenger seat. The next evening, I went to move the car and put it in park and it started jumping and rolling backward. I put it in drive and went forward, put it in park and it did the same thing. I had to put the emergency brake on. I called the dealer. They cant get to the car for 3 days so I have nothing to drive, and to top it off, tell me I dont have any warranty. That Im going to have to pay for repairs. I look at the warranty info online from the Hyundai website and it says that warranties transfer over to new owners. I think this company is a sham and the dealers are worse, trying to rip us off. I am a single woman and feel like I am being ripped off many times over starting with the Myrtle Beach dealer. My mom has been a faithful customer of theirs for years and has purchased 7 cars, 5 of them being Sante Fes, from them in 9 years and has recommended them to many people. I am so angry and disappointed with this situation. I guess loyalty doesnt pay. It just makes you vulnerable to unscrupulous dealers.

We have a new Hyundai Sonata purchased 4.31.2001. We currently have about 12,000 miles and the tires will not make it though the winter. They have been rotated as per instructions, the wear on the tires is even. Have had no satisfaction from dealer, they wanted me to rotate at 3K. Tires are Kumho Solus 94H M+S. Why should new tires on a new car not make it 20,000 miles before they have to be replaced?

I have a 2011 Hyundai Accent which I bought April 1st 2011. Since I bought it, I have had issues with the rubber around the outside of the windshield, which started coming off 2 months after I bought it. I have had to get it fixed twice. The first time they glued it back, it came off again. The second time, they replaced the whole piece. Now December 2011, it is coming off again! Im going on my third time. Then in August, I found out that it came misaligned from the factory and the dealers solution was to put a shim so they could go in and align it properly, that took 2 months to fix and now my tires are warped because of it! By the way, Im still waiting for new tires and it is now December! I spoke to the dealership in order to look at my options, because I no longer want this car. I dont want to deal with the hassle of repeated maintenance (its a brand new car!) and the solution to my lemon is to trade it in so they can squeeze more money out of me for a car that Ive had for 8 months! This was my first brand new car ever. How disappointing. My old 98 Ford Escort gave me less trouble than this. 5 times to get your brand new car fixed in the span of 8 months! What a mistake. Never again!

My vehicle is a 2009 Atos. It is still under warranty. I waited approximately five months for a reverse light switch to be replaced; the brakes have been skimmed twice in this time due to a brake shudder. When asked if this was normal, I was told that replacing the brakes would be very expensive and that they would find out. I dealt with Lisa and Tamryn as well as other workshop staff including the w/shop manager, and they indicated that they would find out if the brake situation was normal. They still have not come back to me in this regard -- it was two weeks ago. My vehicle went in for rust removal. Since I got it back, there has been wind whistle through the windows. When I received the customer service call after the service inquiring if I was satisfied with everything, I indicated that I was not and explained in terms of the wind whistle. I still have not had any response from anyone at this dealership.

I bought a 2016 Elantra GT right off the lot. I was so proud. My first brand new car. It did great until it reached about 12,000 miles. Then it decided to quit starting. I had it towed to the dealership. The service department was helpful... at first. They did change something with the start button and I picked the car back up. One day later, same thing. Couldnt get it out of my driveway. This started happening June 13, 2016. Since then my car has been in the shop non-stop, except for the 4 times I picked it up and became stranded at various places because it wouldnt start. I went through the BBB as required by Hyundai. The BBB determined that the car needed to be repurchased or traded for the same model. Hyundai offered to repurchase the car in August. I completed all the paperwork requested... every... single... time. The repurchase was supposed to be completed today October 21, 2016.I have called and called every number for Hyundai--no one can help me. My case manager, Kris **, is always out of the office and has called me once. No e-mail, nothing. I have had to rent a car out of pocket for the last 3 weeks, maxing credit cards and cancelling trips with my family. I have never felt so devalued in my life. I dont think Hyundai understands that even though my payment was small to them, not having a reliable car has caused a huge amount of stress for me and so much hardship on my family. As a single mom of two great boys, we have had to cancel trips and reroute funds for the rental car. I am a teacher and have to get to work. Communication would have made a terrible situation much more bearable. Worst service ever... I will never recommend buying a Hyundai to anyone. Please dont. They do not stand behind their word.

I had bought a New Hyundai I20 Era on 19th of June 2012 from M/S Advaith Motors Pvt Ltd, Bannerghatta Road, (Next to Spar), New # 1 to 5, Old # 44/1 A, Bangalore - 560076, +91-80-22966201/3. Immediately after one month of the Drive of around 400 KMS, the drum brake sound started. Since it was new car, I thought may be it needs to set or something. However after the first service I still have the same issues, then I realized it is real Problem. After that I had visited and asked them for replacement or fix of the brake system. They did some cleaning and then they gave it to me and it went fine for few days and again problem started. Now it is 3 times the Brake system has been replaced and then number of times it has been services, the brake problem persists.Due to the assurance given at the beginning of the problem by Service Manager in Advaith, I kept on going to them to fix the issues and then drive for few days and then go back again to fix the issues. Now after it was going to be one year, I raised complaint in May and then Brake was replaced to fix the issues saying that it is a service issue. However again the problem is still there. Yesterday I had Advaith Service personal visit and also see the same issues. I had driven around 10 KMS to show him the issue again and then they ask me now to bring again the Car to the Garage and then will see and fix the issue.Since I have been wasting my precious time of Visiting the garage and keeping my car in the garage for repair and replacement, I will no longer be able to do the same. I need a permanent solution. I even tried to sell the Car 2 Lakhs Less than the Amount within 7 Months of Buying due to this problem; however no one is ready to buy the car with Brake Problem. Due to the Brake issues if any thing accidental happens, Hyundai will be responsible for this. I have to use this car as I have to travel to office with the same only. I had already had minor accidents due to disturbance and also when I tried to avoid the sound. I had spent significant amounts of time and also money for this Problem, if not given permanent solution then I would not not hesitate to claim it too. So please let me know your feed back so that I can go to further Process of getting my rights.PS: I had call to the Customer Care today and they said I have to go to service center again and there is no solution other than that. And they also said complaint was raised them in May (after 11 Months) and so it is Service Issue. If I would have complained on the second month to this mail ID or Customer Care I think it would be better rather than going to the Distributor who always takes the ownership of the Product as to the Law. However now I am coming to you directly to have solution. Please let me know if you need scan copy of all the Receipts and Proof History of Break issues with Advaith Hyundai from the day it started. You can also refer the History of the Car. I am also posting a Registered Letter to the Corporate address.

I am so upset Hyundai do not seem to be concern about me not being able to get around. Hyundai got my car, they have to replace my motor, they say they do not have a loaner and tell me to rent a car for two months and they will reimburse me. I have told them several times I cannot afford to do that and pay my car notes. They reached out to me with several lies but closed my account. They say someone will contact me after I contacted them again and its been a week and no one have reached out yet. If they would tell people ahead of time they have some things that goes wrong with the motor many people wouldnt waste time with Hyundai. But I with others will make sure no one else get helmed up like this because this is a burden that we carry without the care of Hyundai. So on every social media page, emails, and in our advertisements with the different companies we will mention how poorly Hyundai took care of us.

I purchased a 2017 Hyundai Tucson 1.6T Limited in August 2017. Driving to work on the highway the panoramic glass roof exploded. Confused me so much because it was 6:45am, no one was around me, sunny day, no trucks in front of me or anything. (All this is provable as I have dash cam video of the front and rear of the car). Sounded like a shotgun. For starters, thankfully my 2 year old son and my wife were not in the car as the backseat was full of glass. I managed to not lose control of the vehicle and managed to exit the highway and pull into a gas station. I phoned roadside assistance and got towed to the dealer. While in the tow truck and still confused I began searching online if this was a known issue and lo and behold Hyundai is VERY well known for this and is #1 in exploding roofs here in Canada and the United States. After getting the vehicle to the dealer and getting home to wash glass out of my head, the next morning I receive a call from the manager at the dealer advising me that Hyundai Canada will NOT be fixing this under warranty even though the manager at Maple Hyundai acknowledged that he has seen articles pertaining to this happening to others in the past. The fact that I have dash cam footage means nothing also. Upon purchasing the vehicle I even purchased their fancy extended warranty. That also means nothing not that I even needed it because I am still technically under the 3 year whatever regular one. Hyundai Canada turned the warranty job down saying that it must have been cracked from before which I am not sure how they can make that type of assumption. First of all, as I said the front and rear cameras both show the exact same time and date just different views. You see from the rear camera a blast of glass fly. The front camera shows absolutely nothing fly at the vehicle. Secondly, tempered glass does not crack it explodes. Thirdly even if for whatever magical reason it was cracked from the night before, why would it wait until 29km (18 miles) into my drive to burst while driving on a smooth road. These vehicles are NOT SAFE and I urge any especially families to look at alternate manufacturers who actually care about the safety of their passengers.

THE WORST!! I would choose zero stars for the review if it was an option! We financed our car from Hyundai Finance in November 2019 and waited 3 months to receive our title, but we never received it. We then relocated to another state and to be able to register our car, we needed our title. So, we requested a duplicate title from Hyundai in February 2020. We still haven’t received our title because Hyundai Finance fails to address our request properly every time for TWO YEARS. We have been sending countless checks and request letters to Hyundai Finance for them to request a duplicate title from the DMV for us, but they keep saying they haven’t received any checks, even though they are all delivered. For two years now, we haven’t been able to register our car in the state we live in because of the incompetency of the Hyundai title department. There is no way to call the titles department or even send a direct email to them. We have been calling customer service for two years, asking them to send emails on our behalf to the title’s department. But still no action and no clear response!! They even sometimes hang up on me instead of addressing my concerns and requests. This is the WORST experience I’ve ever had with a company in my life!! BEWARE and stay clear of Hyundai Finance!!

I have a 2017 Hyundai Tucson. I went with the Tucson because I wanted AWD. It has been one of the biggest mistakes. The first was getting a Hyundai. They don’t care about their consumers. My car has been blowing headlights- having electrical issues (my auto windows go back down when you roll them up, my rear windshield wipers go off whenever they want, my break light seems to go on and off at random. I have reached out because as a company they should only want the best products out there. I was told that “because my car is over 3 years old. There is nothing they can do for me. To bring it to a dealer and “see what I can get” for it. In September 2011, I purchased a 4 ton truck from Hyundai East Rand. I was told that the truck was 4 tons and therefore it could carry a load up to 4 tons. Upon receiving the registration documents I realized that the truck was registered as a 3 ton truck. When I inquired about this, I was told by the sales person, Allan, that this was a fault by Korea. Apart from them selling me the truck under false pretenses, the front cabin of the truck is not straight, the radio keeps skipping channels and switches on even when the trucks ignition is switched off. The truck is sluggish and doesnt feel like a new truck. The engine is rattling, the interior is coming loose and the faults just continue. I have laid a complaint with customer service, but the guy, Sibusisu, just passes the buck and sends me from pillar to post. The dealer principal, Gavin, is not interested in talking to me to sort the problem out. They have taken the truck in for 7 days to identify the problems and they havent given me a replacement truck nor have they compensated me for the loss of income. It is no fault of mine that they sold me a truck that is not up to standard. I need compensation and a 4-ton truck! !

The fuel pump on my 2009 Sonata, bought on 5/30/2009, went bad stranding me away from home. Even though car is less than three years old, at 70,000 miles, I was told is was out of warranty. Rental car cost me $120; tow cost me $72; fuel cost me $350; labor cost to install cost $200. Total cost is $772 for a car I am still paying $300 a month on. It needs better design so fuel pump lasts and make access to fuel pump better so whole gas tank doesnt have to be removed. I had an Elantra for eight years then traded up to Sonata. I will not buy another Hyundai after this experience. For a car and brand that touts reliability, this issue (I understand it has happened many times) is unacceptable.

Hyundai claims to have Americas best warranty but if you read the fine print youll find out otherwise. Three of the five cars Ive owned as an adult have been Hyundai cars. I liked the warranty and the service, however I have never once with all the servicing Ive had on my cars had their warranty cover anything. Recently I had a transmission problem on my car and I found out that not only am I not covered for 100,000 miles or 10 years as they like to advertise, Im not even covered for 60,000 or 5 years. My car has about 56,000 miles on it and they are not covering anything at this point.Hyundai loves to advertise their amazing 100,000 or 10 year power train warranty, but that only applies to the original owner. The second someone else owns the car it drops down to almost half the mileage (60,000) or 5 years, whichever comes first. It wouldnt be as infuriating if they had not been so vocal about their warranty the whole time. They told me over and over again about the coverage and how great the warranty is. The second youre outside the life of the warranty though things will start falling apart. Its happened with every Hyundai Ive owned. This is the last Hyundai I will ever own.

Elantra 2015 - Starting at 3000km uncontrollably bouncing at highway speeds, trying to drive me into the ditch. Dealer in Belleville, Ontario, Canada said never heard of the issue. Google proved him wrong and when I took the printed proof was told it the USA assembled cars with the problem. I persisted and got new balance, then new heavier rears shocks, more balance and new specialized balance and at 12,000km a mechanic finally determined it was a problem with the Continental brand tires on the Hyundai (I was one of thousands who had already complained). Finally got new set of Continentals to replace original. Perhaps the service department cant balance tires but the problem still remains (although a bit milder). No resolution yet!!!

See attached photos! Out of the last 5 years I have owned my Hyundai I have had 4 door handles break and latches on inside to visor mirror & center console break within the first year of owning the vehicle. And I dont have children and never use these doors! It seems these are very cheaply made causing a huge inconvenience! 2 door handles repaired in the past 3 years and now 2 more are broke the same way this last year that have not been repaired. This has become very pricey and unnecessary to have to maintain to have working door handles. I have owned many cars in my life and never had this problem! Why arent these considered recalls??? I feel I should not have to continue to pay for the replacements of the handles and latches! I would like Hyundai to be responsible to repairing these items as they are currently not in working condition! Sincerely, Frustrated Hyundai owner.

Id like to bring to your attention a series of events that reflect a negative attitude and disrespect towards customer of Hyundai Motor Finance by the employees of HMF. In September 2012, I financed a vehicle through Hyundai Motor Finance. For reasons beyond my control, I have been past due on my $550 monthly payment since last November. I have, however, made every attempt to make sure my payment was received before the 30 days late to ensure I dont receive a negative credit history. I made my last payment on April 27, 2013 26 days late. However, HMF placed my account at over 30 days past due which I know will reflect negatively on my credit.I have now accumulated several late fees, and I understand that. My biggest complaint is the approx. 10-12 harassing phone calls I get, sometimes on a daily basis! Customer service employees, as well as their supervisors, seem to be oblivious to what the customer is telling them. They are rude, disrespectful, and completely inattentive to customers trying to work through difficult times. I am positive that the number of consumer complaints towards Hyundai Motor Finance is already hurting Hyundais business model. I had such a wonderful experience with the salesman and dealership I purchase my car from; its just a shame that relationship is being destroyed by the finance division of your company. Somebody do something to correct this awful experience!

On vacation in middle of nowhere, the remote would not work, used key to get in, car alarm went off and did not stop until the fuse blew. I contacted Hyundai and was told even though I bought the remote start from the dealer and had them install it, Hyundai considers it an aftermarket part and I was responsible for the blown fuse and any other damage the remote starter would cause to the car. They have no idea what bumper-to-bumper warranty is.

Last year we experienced a flat tire and when my spouse went to change it there was no spare, only a compressor and slime unit. Well little did we know but we had a slit in sidewall of tire from a pothole, so that was useless. When I called Hyundai Roadside Assurance, they said they would tow it to the nearest dealer which is 40 or so miles away, we wanted it towed 6 miles down the road. So we had to pay $100 for a tow. Last Tuesday we had a flat tire and had no jack to take it off to have it repaired, so we put air in tire and drove it to our repair shop and had it plugged. Today we went to Garvey Hyundai in Plattsburgh, NY and took slime air canister into dealership and asked why they do not tell customers that their 2012 Elantra Limited do not come with a spare or jack. We also stated that we were going to have to get AAA Roadside Assistance since we had to tow car to nearest dealer 40+ miles away if we wanted to use our roadside assurance with them. They hurried us into a room with a service manager whom informed us this was policy to make cars get better gas mileage, by having no tire or jacks. They were willing to sell us a spare donut tire on rim with jack for $298 +, which my spouse said no way. But they did give us a free car wash, which car was still filthy after it came out. Well hopefully, our next purchase next year from an American automaker will have a spare tire, jack and roadside assistance to our local garage if needed.

I been having Warranty Issues since I bought my 2010 Elantra . Starting out with failing Brake Lights to causing misfire and to end it the EPS. When going to the Dealership for the engine issue, I had been told I have water leaking into my cylinder that needs to be cleaned out due to my car not having the engine light on. The same day the car had seemed to misfire and the engine light came on. I drove to the first Auto repair shop I saw and they run the diagnostic and it showed a code. They told me the issue was under warranty and I should bring it to the Dealership. I asked if they could clean the grease out a little so it would stop jerking. They did. I took it ten miles down the road to the Dealership and left it with them. Next day, they called me and told me all I had is some water in my cylinder and that it wasnt covered by warranty. So when I got to the dealership, he showed me the bill what was even more as that from the repair shop to fix the gasket. They explained to me they couldnt pull a code and the code given by me to them wasnt making any sense. So I took my car to Firestone and had them look into the so-called water in my cylinder. As they they couldnt find any water anywhere. Long story short, they didnt honor the warranty at all. Now the EPS seems to be failing and Hyundai expect the code to to read in order to honor the warranty. Well Dear Hyundai, the EPS dont stay on and you cant pull a code because no one be able to drive with the EPS out to the dealership so they can see the light is on. So again another bill on the Buyer cause Hyundai. So what Im trying to say is buying a Hyundai is a waste of money. They also stated what I called and complained, You dont have any Oil Changes on file with the dealership. Really I never had any issues with my VW when I took it to the Dealership about anything. And they did listen to the customers concerns and try to help and not send you out with issues that they didnt want to fix under warranty. This was my first and last Hyundai I had Purchased.

After having a 2016 Hyundai Veloster and having issues with oil consumption we are being told that due to sludge in the motor and supposedly we are needing a new motor that warranty will not cover a replacement and we are expected to be out of pocket $9400. This is absolutely ridiculous and was told by Consumer Affairs that there was no number for corporate who made the final decision to decline our case. Very unprofessional and no way to do business! This is the true definition of loophole! The car is still under the 100,000 or 10 year warranty!! I will be pursuing other resources and what I have to do about this! The ball was dropped and Hyundai doesnt care. They found a way out of doing the warranty work!

On June 13th, I noticed a rattling when I stepped on the gas of my 2008 Hyundai Sonata. By the time I got to my destination, the car was making such a horrible noise; there was no way it could be driven further. I called the Hyundai customer service number to arrange to have the car towed to the dealer and to make sure my warranty would cover the issue. I was assured that I was still covered under the 10 year 10,000 mile warranty. The following morning, the tow truck arrived and took the car to the dealer. Later that day, the dealer called me to inform me that I would need a new engine and that my warranty would not cover it. The engine would be a used one with 71,000 miles on it and would cost $5600 not including labor. Of course, I immediately called Hyundai and was told that I was misinformed the previous day and that I did not have the 100,000 mile warranty because I was the second owner. They assured me that they would cover the tow and the diagnostic charge but they would not cover a new engine. The reason I bought the car and not the Nissan Altima, which is a much nicer vehicle, was for the exceptional Hyundai warranty. I spent the next few hours on the phone with quite a few rude customer service representatives before I reached a supervisor. I stated my issue for the umpteenth time and he once again told me that despite the fact that the car is only four years old, it is not their problem as the warranty is up. So basically, Hyundai is saying that it is acceptable for a four-year old car to have a blown engine and too bad for me. I am a single mother who has recently been unemployed and I am still paying for this car. Suffice it to say that I will never buy another Hyundai again and I will certainly let everyone I know what my experience has been.

This is regarding the E.C.M. in I10 Sportz Kappa 1.2 model 2010 which has just crossed 10800 kms. As you can see it’s been used sparingly. Suddenly it was not starting. I called the Hyundai 24 hrs helpline service. They were not been able to assess the fault. Then I had to tow the vehicle to Hyundai service center paying RS1500 FOR NO FAULT OF MINE. Then I was informed after a day that it has e.c.m. problem and has to be replaced. My regret is that such a high end model has problem in the spare so soon as it has not even been driven 11000 kms and costing me RS35000. Do I have to pay for the faulty spare used by the company. I10 sucks as I have checked other reviews and to my shock, I came to know that they are other people suffering because of this problem. The worst part is that it was serviced just 7 days before the break down and they had charged more than 6500. It’s really sad to know that Hyundai is not able to maintain the quality. And we are the suffers. It’s like an elephant (car) whose maintenance cost of faulty parts (no fault of the customer) is more expensive than the elephant itself (car).

We purchased a 2012 Hyundai Accent the end of 2011 from Fairfax Hyundai in Fairfax, Virginia. Along with the car, we purchased an extended warranty that supposedly provides bumper to bumper repair peace of mind until 100,000 miles. Early in October, I called the Fairfax Hyundai service department to obtain our free oil change. I was told they could not schedule me for almost a week. It was already time for our warranty oil change, so I took the car to Just Tires in Fairfax, Virginia for an oil change. The Just Tires service tech came to me and informed me the Accents right rear brake pad was completely worn out and the rotors needed to be turned. The left rear pad still had lots of wear yet. The next day, I took the car to Fairfax Hyundai to get the car repaired under the Hyundai warranty. The Fairfax Hyundai service manager informed me that the repair was not under warranty because the right rear caliper slide had become dirty and stuck, thus causing the service problem. This was very disturbing to me since we paid an extra $1,200 for an extended warranty that was to cover everything that went wrong with the car except the radio and tires. I took the car to Mr. Tire in Fairfax, and they refused to fix the problem because they were adamant the caliper was Hyundais responsibility. At that point, I walked into the Fairfax Hyundai dealership and insisted to speak with the owner. Instead, a manager was available and he put me in contact with Kim **, the District Parts and Service Director. On 10-10-2012, Mr. ** told me that if I could get a Virginia State Inspection Station to report the car could not pass inspection due to a faulty caliper, he would see about repairing the car at no cost.I scheduled the car for inspection and a repair estimate on 10-15-2012 at CC Garage in Vienna, Virginia. I could not get an earlier date because this is one of the highest rated repair facilities in Northern Virginia and a Virginia State Inspection Station. CC Garage called me the next day and informed me the slide was no longer stuck and the caliper was working fine. He indicated he could not supply the report Mr. ** sought. At that point, I was fed up with the situation and told them to replace the pads and turn the rotors at a cost of $271. The rotors can only be turned a couple of times so now I am required to continuously worry when the caliper slide will become stuck again and cause another expensive repair. Eventually, this faulty caliper problem will require replacement of drums, rotors, and calipers. We wish we had not bought a Hyundai car at this point.I still felt Hyundai was not meeting its responsibility of honoring its warranty program. So yesterday, I started online research of similar problems Hyundai has had with brake calipers. My research indicates that this stuck caliper slide problem has existed since at least 2001, on various models of Hyundai passenger vehicles. I found complaints on your 2001, 2003, 2005, 2008, and 2010 models. Now I have a 2012 with the same exact problem. Refusing to address this faulty engineering problem has caused many a USA citizen unnecessary repair bills that should have been covered under Hyundais warranty and then a fix of the problem instead of ignoring the problem for years. I request three things for Hyundai to do: 1) Reimburse me for the $271.00 repair; 2) Assure me in writing that any future repair costs due to caliper problems on this car will be covered under the cars warranty program; 3) Assure USA citizens that Hyundai USA will immediately address and fix this problem on their passenger vehicles. I will wait for a reply to my concerns until 11-25-2012.

Hyundai has totally misrepresented the mileage. I purchased a 2013 Elantra; I get 24-City, 28-Highway. I have taken the car into the dealership to complain. They told me they find nothing wrong with the car. They told me it was my driving. I was told I need to coast whenever possible. On the street or the highway when I hit the crest, I must take my foot off the gas and coast and then I would improve my mileage. I hate the dealership and this car. I purchased the car because of the 30-38 MPG, and it is simply not true. Do I have any recourse? I would definitely join a class action case against them. Please advise.

I currently own this 2015 Sonata limited and have seen very little of it lately. I purchased this car in October 2015. After around seven months of ownership, my battery went dead. I called service. They jump the car and figured that was the end of the problem since it was a very cold morning. A few days later the same thing happened again. Called the service. They jump the car. This time I drove it to Star Hyundai service. The manager at that time, Mike told me that there was nothing wrong with the battery and they were not replacing it. This was after two hours of trying to diagnose the problem. He tell me if it happens again I should have the car towed in. That is exactly what I did a few days later. He still refused to admit that there was something wrong with the battery. I then contacted the dealer whom I bought the car from who put the screws to him and he finally changed the battery. I thought this was the end of the problem. Wrong! This problem has repeated itself several times over the last few months. I have had three new batteries since the original battery put in to this car. I only have around 16,000 miles on the car. After the issue had escalated I contacted their customer care department. I was given a case number and a really horrible case worker. He never answered his phone, was very slow to get back to me. Kyle **. They advertise great customer service. HORRIBLE!!! I was forced to hire a lemon law lawyer. My car is presently in the shop going on 26 days. They could not find the reason for the battery failure. Fortunately for me, I was given a loaner. Now I am just waiting to see what they are going to do as far as replacing the car or offering me a buyback. I certainly dont want a replacement. This was my first and my last Hyundai purchase.

Hyundai is comfortable, gives a smooth ride and handles well. It has low maintenance obligations though it has high mileage. Seats are high to support knee issues. I got the most amenities without an exorbitant additional cost. However, it doesnt have Bluetooth or a back up camera. I also would like a steering wheel that heated up and that the 3rd row seats are raised up higher off the floor. Theyre so low that theyre only appropriate for small children. Faulty Caliper Pins on 2012 Accent: Long story short, I had Merchants Tire in Warrenton look at my brakes because of awful noise. They showed me the gouge in the rotor from where the brake pad wore because of a faulty caliper pin. They stated there should be no reason for this caliper pin to be broken and the pad to wear unevenly. They called Browns Manassas Hyundai and conferred with one of their mechanics. He also seemed to think it was a factory defect and under warranty. They suggested bringing it in and confirming the issue. I made an appointment for 3:30 the next day. At noon, they called and said the service station was closed and they set up an appointment at Fairfax Hyundai. I drove my car 45 miles out to Fairfax where I was treated like a stupid girl and spoken to as if I were an ignorant child. They said it would take at least 2 hours before they could look at it. I left with my ride and half way home, I received a call from the service department. They stated that the brake pads were worn evenly but needed changed, the rotors needed turned and there was absolutely nothing wrong with the calipers. It would cost around $400-$450 to fix. This completely contradicted Merchants (who have known me for the past 8 years). I am fed up with the runaround so I contacted a supervisor, Gustavo, at Hyundai Customer Service. He assured me that it sounded suspicious and he would call Fairfax. On my way back to picking up my car, which I instructed them NOT TO TOUCH, Fairfax Hyundai calls me to say, “It does seem to be a caliper issue but its just dirty and we can clean it. But you do need pads and rotors. We can fix it but it will cost you. I spent the last half hour trying to DIG the brake pad out of the rotor with a screw driver!” WHAT? A SCREW DRIVER DIGGING A BRAKE PAD OUT OF MY ROTOR? I was just told the rotors were fine, no scratches and worn evenly and now they are digging something out of them. I am beyond irate and disgusted. Going on 2 weeks now and car is still not fixed. On top of that, they are having to reimburse consumers because of the misquoted mpg.

With less than 600 miles on my new Equus, it is in the shop because of a failed valve cover gasket, so I am told. It obviously was leaking when I bought it, as the very next morning, I was cleaning up oil drips from my garage floor. Because I bought it from a dealer some distance from my home, they could not see the evidence of oil leakage and opined that I was seeing air conditioner condensate from a drain line in the vicinity of the area I described as the problem area. After a few more days, and a trip I already had committed to, I got my local Hyundai dealer to pick it up and take a look. They called back and claiming to be astounded, confirmed that the fluid was indeed oil and was coming from a leaking valve cover gasket. I really like the car, but am not the least happy that I now have a vehicle whose engine has had to be repaired, though not the real guts of the machine. Still, as what is held out as their super luxury, top-of-the-line vehicle, this is a pretty damning circumstance. Who was asleep on the production or parts supply line? Anyone else have similar engine quality issues? I have not heard back because the parts must be ordered and then installed. Stand by. SO far, I havent been able to judge the service response.

I havent complained until today because my steering wheel started ripping apart due to the humidity. I went to the dealer for it to be replaced and Hyundai Canada apparently only replaces the steering wheel with the older model being the silver trim. Moreover, the trim was already damaged. I have the dark silver. I mean really Hyundai ran out of the dark silver trim steering wheel. So I asked them to put back my old steering wheel even though it is ripped. While driving at 70 miles an hour on I-87 using cruise control, the car jerked, check engine light came on and the car completely stopped accelerating. There was no response when pressing the gas pedal. Luckily, we were near an exit. We were not rear ended by a truck and were able shift lanes and to roll off and put our hazard lights on. On the exit, the car came to a dead stop. After checking the engine, we turned it off and the car started back up. And we were able to drive to a local service station concerned about driving any farther. The mechanic was able to determine there was an error code related to the throttle control. On restarting the car, the engine lights reset and the car ran normally. We continued on our trip. When we returned home, we brought the car to the Hyundai dealer where it was purchased to service the car. After they examined the car, we were told there was nothing they could do as there were no error codes in memory. They said that we should continue to drive it until it happened again. When I mentioned that there was a technical service bulletin regarding the throttle sensor and it should be either replaced or tested, I was told that they could not do anything until an error was recorded in the memory of the computer. It was because Hyundai USA would not cover anything under warranty, even though this was a serious safety concern and would most likely to occur again. When I asked if it was likely to occur again, I was told most likely it would happen soon and to be careful.A month later, when traveling on a long trip, it happened again on the Taconic State Parkway in New York. I was traveling at about 65 miles per hour. This time there was no shoulder. But I was able to partially pull off the road and put on my hazard lights as cars drove by and avoided hitting mine. Based on my prior experience, I turned the car off and was able to restart and move again. This same situation occurred four (4) more times as I was able to get my car finally back home to the Hyundai dealer to service the car.The Hyundai dealer replaced both the throttle sensor and the pedal assembly. The car appears to be working properly for the last two weeks. Having researched the problem with acceleration, I have learned that many others have experienced this similar and potentially dangerous problem. After speaking with other Hyundai service technicians, I was told off the record that this was not an uncommon problem. As the sensor is less than $85, I am not sure why Hyundai did not address this problem when I first brought the car or as a recall. The consequences could be much more serious.

I had to laugh when I read Hyundais stated goal which they claim is to create satisfied customers, because this has not been our experience at all. In fact, my wife and I have made a promise to each other to never buy another vehicle from this dealership or another Hyundai period. I have to tell you, we usually buy new vehicles every 2-3 years because we dont want to deal with any service issues as we are busy people. Changing oil and general maintenance is about as much as we care to deal with. We normally purchase our vehicles from Toyota. In 30 years we had never had trouble them! In fact, we never had to do more than oil changes and basic care. They never broke down, all their parts worked at all times and we never got a lemon. We were so satisfied that although we wanted to try a Honda last time we were apprehensive. However, we LOVED our CRV! I miss it, and regret trading it in because unlike the Hyundai, it worked! Our CRV required mechanical assistance once in the first five years! Very shortly after the warranty expired the transmission went out! I was horrified, because I knew my warranty was up but Honda didnt think it was fair as our warranty had just ran out. Not only did they fix it free of charge, it was too new so they could not find a rebuilt transmission and put in a brand new transmission! That is the level of service we are use to, and we have found Hyundai to be the exact opposite! Our experience has been disappointing at best. We have been lied to, deceived, laughed at and disrespected. We got the runaround from the very beginning when we agreed to allow the salesman run our credit for a particular vehicle. We made it very clear that this was the vehicle we were interested in. In fact, we refused to let him run it until we picked out the vehicle we wanted to buy...then in the middle of the deal our salesman got up and left and another one came out to finish the deal. This shady salesman made the first kid look like an angel. This guy switched us into a vehicle that had more wear and mileage without our consent. My husband was exhausted after they wore us down for hours and decided to just get the car, but then we noticed that things were not working on the way home...both sales people said that I could plug my iPhone into the USB to charge it. We travel a lot and this was the main feature that had us interested in this model and it was the deciding factor on buying from Hyundai. The second salesman told us that he knew the owner personally and that the owner prided himself on providing excellent customer service and that he had his number and if he was unable to help us with any issues we could call the owner himself and he would take care of it. I later asked for the owners phone number and was laughed at and refused the number. However, that USB port was the initial reason why we chose the Hyundai instead of some of the other vehicles we had looked at around town. When we purchased the vehicle I asked about a second key and the salesman assured me he just needed to look for it and that it was there...because he had it earlier that day. When I reminded him we needed that other key fob, he looked for it and claimed it was missing and assured me that they could simply make us a new one real quick. I was concerned. He never found it. Now I am even more concerned because it is totally possible that these unethical people that I dealt with may have said key fob! After the deal was done, the story changed so we would have to make an appointment to get that key fob made. We reminded the salesperson again before leaving and he said he would call with an appointment time.On the way home we found something else wrong in the vehicle. We were never allowed to even test drive or choose ourselves! That USB port did not work at all! I was told that I could charge my iPhone with this USB port. I asked several times if they were sure it would work with my iPhone 5C and was assured that it would. I was upset because we made it clear that we wanted to buy a new car and I was assured that this vehicle was never used for anything but test drives. I dont know of many dealerships that allow animals on test drives. Yet, the air conditioner was blowing out pet fur! Upon further inspection I found dog or cat fur all over... I am allergic to cats and most dogs unless they have hair instead of fur and this was fur. Also, on the way home we stopped at the store and planned to stop a few more places as well but we could not get the back hatch to lock...which was a security and safety concern. I called and most of my concerns were dismissed and made light of. The second salesperson (they switched in the middle of the deal) did not believe there was dog hair so he wanted us to bring the car back to show him, so we did, driving all the way back to Bend. I think he knew it was there all along but figured we would just not want to hassle with it. I was insulted as he made it sound as if I was a liar which took a lot of nerve after just making one deceitful claim after another to us. He made me think that we could exchange the car for another new car and this was the only reason we agreed to that drive. He acknowledged the presence of dog hair and did not know how that got there. We do not own any pets. He basically did nothing to assist us at that time and thus the trip was a waste of our time. He promised to make an appointment to have the fur removed and all scents removed and to have car mats installed. The salesman called to say he made an appointment to have the car treated to eliminate scents and hair, have the USB port fixed and the back latch fixed. After calling to insure the parts were in we arrived at the appointment and were asked, Oh did you make this appointment online? All of the parts were not there but they said they could replace the key fob and that they kept the mats in stock and they did not need to be ordered as the salesperson stated! However, the machine used to get out the hair and scent was never arranged.I was there all day long. They wanted me to make yet another appointment to finish the work. Then they wanted me to leave my vehicle for a few days so they could order the part again and get it fixed. Its a good thing I did not agree to that because it was at least two weeks before they called back! My husband did not trust them by that point anyways and flat out refused to let me leave the vehicle there. They claimed that the treatment for the hair would take most the day so I suggested that they just fix the latch and the key fob and make it right in some way as I had picked most of the hair out of the vehicle myself by the time of the appointment (resulting in an asthma attack). I could not drive it the way it was and had to do something. That day they literally had not done anything all day long. The key fob was not fixed, they said they ordered a defective one and they needed to reorder that... The only thing that was in and all they did all day long was to put in car mats that would have taken less than five minutes yet they made me wait several hours...only to tell me that I would have to make an appointment and return to Bend...yet again. Before they even started I asked them if they had the parts and was told yes. This has been a huge waste of my time for a car I never wanted. I wanted the one we test drove that they sold out from under us. This is hardly a way to make a customer satisfied! So, we came back today and guess what? Even though we checked twice this time to make sure parts were in, they were not! We were lied to time and time again. I have the messages from both incidents and both messages say all of these parts are in...yet they were not. Yep, we got there today after calling and speaking with Mr. Nasty Tude, I mean Mr. ** and was assured once again that the parts were in. When we arrived ** was there and we told them we had a bad experience last time and wanted to make sure all the parts were really there before they started as we did not have time to waste. He was rude which just added to our frustration. My husband told him that I had already spoken to someone in Corporate and to just leave the hatch alone and fix the USB. He gave me a smart ** acknowledgement and held out his hand for the keys. It was a good half hour before they took the car back even though they were not busy and there was no vehicle in the bay they pulled it into. ** was nasty saying we must have made this appointment online...that seems to be the standard answer for everything in your non-service department. We did not make this appointment online.WE did not want to make another wasted trip to Bend so even though after two weeks they finally called to tell us that the part was in we called back before leaving for the appointment this morning to insure that the parts were indeed there. We asked ** when we arrived and he said all of the parts were there, they were not but he did not care and said we would have to make another appointment to come back. When we told him that we called ahead of time to insure the parts were in and checked with him when we got there he got even ruder and said that he wanted us to leave and never come back into the service department/dealership. Not a problem! But please know that I will be reviewing this dealership and that this time I will contact corporate in writing for legal purposes. Please note that I have not forgotten my promises to add reviews. I have a draft ready to go and my husband is currently working on the complaint for the BBB. We have given your dealerships more opportunities that it deserves. We would love to prevent this, we want you to make this right, go back to the beginning and give us the vehicle we ran our credit to purchase. The same one or a 2015 model that is brand new without scratches, dirt, dog or cat hair, etc. We should not have to deal with defective parts, as we purchased a new vehicle, not a used one! Written promises were made and part of our purchase agreement. The dealership failed to meet these and therefore it cancels this contract and we want our Honda back within 7 business days or we will take legal action. We have given the dealership many opportunities to make this right with no resolution and have been treated with grave disrespect. This is the worst car dealer I have ever dealt with and I will be filing a claim with the BBB.

On December 23, my Hyundai vehicle was repossessed. I was shocked! I double checked my online bank account and could not find any lapses in payments. I tried calling them on December 24 and of course no one was in. I kept trying and finally reached them on Dec 29. When I called them and they said their records show me 41 days late but could not give me the exact information on when I missed a payment. There was a bunch of double talk about how much principal and interest had been applied and they tried to avoid my direct questions such as when my payment is due, what my minimum payment amount was etc. This is no way to do business!!! Then they tell me in order to reinstate my loan, I have to pay $1038 plus repo fees, plus storage cost of the vehicle. Then she tells me that the repo lot only holds the car 2-5 days. That the car had already probably be sent to auction. They have violated my rights in so many ways. Just do yourself a favor and steer clear of Hyundai motor finance. FYI... they and Kia are one in the finance area. Buyer beware!

Veloster is the worst car I have owned. The car is only two years old and I have had a list of problems with the car. The water pump was replaced at 3000 miles. I have had problems with the sunroof since day one, with car as well. I have also had the fuel pump, fuel rail, catalytic converter, front hub and axle replaced as well. Now today my navigation & radio went on the car. I have made complaints to corporate Hyundai and left numerous calls with no callback. Not only do they make a poor car, their customer service is just as bad.

I have never been so disappointed in a brand in my life. I will die screami
I have never been so disappointed in a brand in my life. I will die screaming from the rooftop how awful Hyundai has been in regard to this MAJOR recall. The engines was recalled in 2017. I had it check. ONE YEAR later it blew while I was driving it with kids in the car. The only way I could get urgency from anyone at Hyundai was to merge a call with corporate and the dealership together because neither could lie to me at that point.Today 6 weeks later I am attempting to get my claim reimbursement and I just noticed NO ONE contacted me to tell me that there was missing documentation. So I called the claim department. They informed me that not only do I have to submit a receipt for the towing I needed to show a bank statement. Additionally, the documents that the supervisor Kaitlynn told me I was missing was completely different than the documents that Guadalupe (my claim agent) listed on my claim site. So had I not called I would have submitted documents that I didnt need to submit prolonging the entire bunk process set in place. Now the dealership... I picked up my car and left a message on 9/29 asking for a return call. I called again today 10/9 because I had no return call. They listed a oil change sticker on my window for 8500 from the day I picked up my car. When I spoke to someone today they stated oh no. It needs to be 3750 miles and asked if I wanted to make an appointment. MAKE AN APPOINTMENT? I just picked up the car. NO. Nor will I take it back for additional service. This is a disaster and will be the LAST Hyundai I buy. BUYER BEWARE. This is not a good brand that values customer service. This is a cluster of a company that is barely getting by.

So I ventured into a 48 mo lease back in Nov. 2011 on a 2012 Hyundai Elantra Limited. I got my vehicle from a well-known dealer down by the Philadelphia Auto Mall. The deal was fine, dealership was helpful and off I went in my new Elantra. The one small issue was with the color combination I had wanted but the dealer could not deliver on. So I settled on an available color combination and was happy nonetheless. Fast forward 3 1/2 years later and like a good loyal soldier I found myself back at the same dealership. This time I went in with a printout of the 2016 Elantra Limited I built on Hyundais online site. I was feeling confident I could finally get that color combination I had wanted back in Nov. 2011... NOPE!! The dealer searched around for my color combo and basically in so many words told me the closest location they could find my color combination was about 1,800 miles away in Oklahoma City. WHAT??? I figured I still and some time until my lease ended so I told them I was not in an immediate rush so they had time to get the vehicle (or one in that color combo) to Philadelphia. That suggestion was all but brushed off and I was basically given (once again!) the impression I would need to settle on a different color combination... I ended up in another vehicle that was NOT a Hyundai. My well maintained 2012 leased vehicle with 16,000 miles under the allowed mileage went back to the dealer and months later I receive a bill in the mail from Hyundai Finance totaling $850.20!! $380.00 for Excess Wear and Tear, $400.00 disposition fee and taxes totaling $70.20. As for the Excess Wear and Tear, did I mention my vehicle was well maintained? My carpets were NEVER even stepped on since the entire interior was lined with rubber flooring! There were no tears and/or burns to any seating surfaces. There were no dents and any scratches could be classified as your run of the mill light surface marks all finishes encounter at some point! With all that said, the biggest sticking point for me is that disposition fee. Or as I like to call it, a monetary gun to a consumers head to assure you NEVER leave their side. If Hyundai had such a wonderful product, the need to place a monetary gun to ones head to assure loyalty to the brand should not be necessary!!! Needless to say, I will NOT be a Hyundai customer again and my wife who is presently a Hyundai owner will not own a Hyundai in the future... at least not while I am breathing!! FINAL THOUGHT... Would you get into bed with Charles Manson? Venturing in to an auto lease with Hyundai can be eerily similar...

I purchased a new 2009 Hyundai Sonata GLS with a manual transmission about two or three years ago. I considered it to offer the most value for the price back then compared to an Accord, Camry, and other models. Unfortunately, I believe I made a mistake with this purchase. I wrote about my problems with this car on this forum before. Now, its time for a brief update. The power locks stopped working intermittently. This was a result of an electrical problem in the drivers side door panel. Thats not something that should happen in a car that is less than 3 years old. Another issue is that the iPod charger does not charge properly either, so sometimes my iPod has no battery power left even if it was charging while the car was on. The clutch master cylinder also has been replaced twice: once at about 12,000 miles and again at about 35,000 miles. The car has 40,000 miles on it now. Both times, the master cylinder was replaced free of charge. However, when I was getting a routine oil change about two weeks ago, the Hyundai technicians said that I needed a brand new clutch. Incredulous, I went home and found the maintenance records for the master cylinder because it had already been replaced twice. I went back to the local Hyundai dealer the next day and showed them these records and they said this had nothing to do with replacing the entire clutch and that it would not be covered under warranty. I asked why not and he said that the clutch was only covered by a 12-month/12,000 mile warranty because it was a consumable part.” He also said that the clutch can go out at 15,000 miles or 60,000 miles--depending on how you drive the car. Of course, Ive only driven cars with manual transmissions, so I know how to drive them. Ive driven cars that are much older than this one that have never had clutch problems, including an 11-year old Daewoo. But my Sonata made a rattling sound when it was idling and the gear shifts were not smooth. Now I know why. Anyway, after shelling out $1900, the car runs much better. But Im tired of dealing with maintenance issues with this car. I really want to like my Sonata, but I can no longer trust it. I think I would have been better served by paying the extra $1500 for a brand new car from a competitor instead of wasting my money and time being disappointed by a car that I really wanted to like that always seem to have a defective part or a part that is constructed of substandard quality. Theres not much dealership support and the parts dont seem particularly reliable. My wife had many problems with her 2007 Hyundai Accent as well, so I think Ive seen enough. We will not purchase another Hyundai.

In fall 2014, I purchased a new 2015 Hyundai Elantra with a 1.8 L 4 cylinder motor. Since then, the car has had standard interval servicing with full synthetic motor oil, done at the Hyundai Dealership. The car is mainly used for commuting to work, and the majority of the miles driven are interstate miles. The car drives approximately 30,000 miles per year. At 105,000 miles, the car developed a ticking from the front of the engine. The standard powertrain warranty is 10 year/100,000 miles. I took the car to the Stew Hansen Hyundai dealership in Des Moines IA, and they diagnosed it as a worn rod bearing, or rod knock. The service Hyundai agreed to provide the parts, but did not agree to provide the service cost ($2500) or loaner car. At the time that the engine needed repair, I was told that the parts would be in as soon as possible. Joe, my service advisor, advised that other cars that are same make and model has been experiencing this issue after the winter months of 2017. He advised that the dealership had 5 others Elantras waiting for a new engine. He advised that the engine components were not getting enough oil due to a manufacturing defect. Therefore, running without oil for extended periods of time. It has now been almost 2 months, and Hyundai is estimating, but not guaranteeing, that the engine will arrive on April 27th. Which is a total of 3 months since I have not had my car. I have been advised that the engine parts are backordered, which tells me that this is a national problem. I have contacted Hyundai Woodhouse in Omaha, NE and they advised me that they are having the same issues with their customers Elantras. I have contacted Hyundai Consumers Affairs about the issue, and asked for reimbursement for a rental car because the process is taking a long period of time. My consumer claims advisor told me that they could not give me a definitive answer if I would be covered by a rental reimbursement. I then asked to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor advised me that the reimbursement would depend if the part was included in a repair campaign or recall. Upon asking if this part would be covered under a campaign or recall because of the national shortage, she could not given a definitive answer, and advised that my reimbursement claim would be reviewed after the part is fixed, leaving me with no clear answer. My family is currently down to one car, and my wife and I both drive to work, which puts a large amount of miles on our one vehicle. I understand that the vehicle is out of warranty, however, we feel that Hyundai has not take responsibility to ensure customer satisfaction. We initially were grateful that Hyundai was providing the parts, but we feel that no-one should have to wait 3 months for their car to be repaired.

Hyundai Motor Finance are the worst group of customer relations. They dont care about the customers. I leased a vehicle from them, turned it in early, paid the car off. They auctioned the car and sent me a remaining balance, which should not have been calculated. They revised the amount and was supposed to send me a new balance. Ive been calling and kept note of everyone spoken to, begging for the balance due to make payment, since November 2016. Its now April 2016. I was told I had a lower balance than what was originally calculated. I paid it and was told by a manager Ruth and other workers, Tiffany and others that the account is settled and will show paid in full, and the credit bureau will be notified of the closed account.A week has passed and I called to check in on my account and was told that I had a past due balance of the same amount (WHAT ARE THESE PEOPLE UP TO?). It still show on my credit that this account is past due. Ive lost over 100 pts on my credit score because of their false report. When I was making the monthly payments, updates were quick. Now that I want out, its like they dont want to let you go. The managers and workers in-between are all the same - they make promises to take care of the situation, have managers call you back etc, and they do nothing about it. No one calls back. Nothing happens. This account is paid in full to date. The car was auctioned off and its final - all I want from them is to close my account and update my credit that the account is paid and closed. PLEASE HYUNDAI, its been 6 months of calling you. Not getting anywhere with all the staff you employ. I want to move on with my life. I want nothing to do with Hyundai Motor Finance. I will never lease another vehicle from your company. This experience has been torture for me. I been an excellent paying customer. WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS?? Please close my account.

A few years ago I bought my new Hyundai Sonata. I still drive this car every day to work, love it. Unfortunately, Hyundai has no customer service when it comes to their finance company/department. After paying off my Sonata 3/24/2015, Hyundai sent the title etc. On 4/9/2015 Hyundai took $491.51 out of my bank account! My wife called and we told them to stop, which they agreed and said it would take 30 days to cut a check back to us for the amount they owed us. Again on 5/11/2015 they took out another $491.51, so this time I called. Their (800) 523-4030 customer service number is a joke. I had to talk to a supervisor who was able to tell me the first overpayment check was in the mail and that it would take another 30 days for the second overpayment check to be cut and then mailed. So, its 6/25/2015 and Im at my wits end... I believe its time for a lawsuit. I called yesterday 6/24/2015 and spoke with a supervisor ** who said he would call back and never did... the only status I received was that the check hadnt been cut and they cant seem to figure out why. Luckily after the second occurrence I contacted my bank and had them block Hyundai from messing things up further. I contacted Hyundai again today on my way to work, spoke with another supervisor who said shes escalated... took my cell number down and said shed call me back... well she never did and its 9pm.I feel that Hyundai finance lacks customer service so bad that Im now to the tipping point of never doing any more business with Hyundai motors in general. Luckily the $491.51 isnt my rent, but I know that nearly $500 is a lot of money to most families. Ive contacted the Corporate customer service who cant do anything about it because the Hyundai Motors Finance is a separate company all together... now I know why. This is the last time Ill ever finance anything without an actual bank or financial establishment, Hyundai... get your act together. Ill be suing for the interest I could have made on over 30 days of the first $491.51 and will be suing for the second $491.51 plus interest until this is settled. I hate to do it because my time is money and its an annoyance, but its my civic duty. I paid Hyundai interest when they loaned me money to purchase one of their cars, so they should pay me for interest when I loaned them money (unknowingly and without approval) until they pay me back in full. In conclusion, steer clear of Hyundai Motors Financing... they have no clue what theyre doing and have no authority to actually service their customers properly.

I purchased a new 2009 Sonata Limited 4/08. Now, it has approx. 23,500 miles. Months back, I discovered an item I now need (that was supposed to be on the car) was not there. Although I was told and given a valet key that the manual states leaving the sub key with a parking attendant will ensure that your vehicles trunk, trunk like release, glove box compartment and rear trunk access may not be unlocked in your absence, the information and manual are not correct. The valet system locks were never installed. This never came to my attention until some time back when I had major back surgery and could no longer lift items from the trunk (that cannot be secured) until I could find someone to do it for me. This means I must drive around with items in the trunk that are not secured. Hyundai Consumer Affairs has offered many excuses - such as:1. Company decided child safety hazard and stopped installing them - not correct2. The locks are there and you just need to go to the dealer and they will locate them for you. - Service Mgr & Asst. looked for them and when they could not find them told me some cars come down the line with things left off other cars of the same model. Warranty dept. then asked me to visit a different dealer to locate.3. One email reads, Your vehicle would have come with 2 keys, one that can lock/unlock the the trunk and glove box and the other to give to a valet attendant so they can park the vehicle. - I received from the dealership 3 keys - 2 regular and 1 valet with the explanation that it would do as the manual states above.4. NHTSA action number 10025822 issued 9/9/08 - four months after car purchased reads - Hyundai owners manuals for all 2009 Sonata vehicles contain incorrect information regarding sub key (valet key) operations. Until a printing revision is implemented, manuals will need to have the sticker overlays installed. No sticker overlay could have been installed as the car was purchased 4 months earlier than the bulletin date. Sales department misrepresented the car as they werent even knowledgeable about the missing locks.Theres absolutely no satisfaction from Hyundai. With my physical condition, it now looks like I will have to purchase a different make car. I believe Hyundai should work out something with me on this car. To date they have no interest.

I have a 2011 Hyundai Sonata.. Have had a ton of recalls that I have had to waste a ton of time at the dealership to get fixed. At little over 100,000 miles my engine started burning not leaking oil.. Brought it to Darcy hyundai in Joliet il... Told me I have to do an oil consumption test which I had to go there 6 more times to find out engine is burning oil.. Every mechanic told me I need a new engine but corporate hyundai even though they have had lawsuits over this make and model engine tells me I have to spend 1000.00 to do more tests... Every week I have to refill oil so there is oil in the engine and few months later catalytic converter goes bad because of the oil burning which car stopped running on the expressway and had to get it towed... 1 problem after another problem... Corporate hyundai tells me Im on my own and the converter costs over 1000.00 even tho the engine in that car was proven in court to be bad and replacing converter would not solve the original problem of the engine burning oil.... Stay away from hyundai or you will regret it.

2012 Hyundai Elantra does not get 40 mpg: I purchased the car brand new, and now, I have 12, 000 miles on the car. I drive 38 miles each way to work everyday. I drive mostly highway miles and always set the cruise at the highway speed limit. The car promises 40 mpg highway. I have never gotten more than 36 mpg. When I contacted the dealership, they said that it will get 40 mpg after I have been driving about 1,000 miles on the car. I am now at 12,000 miles, and it does not get 40mpg. This was the only reason I chose this car, and now, I am stuck with this loan for 5 years and I am very unhappy about this issue and the lack of response from Hyundai.

This time, a week while the tech talked with the company tech because they didnt know what was wrong, decided to replace the fuel pump again but mentioned it had two fuel pumps. I cant find anything about a second fuel pump. I am really concerned as it at times wont go over 20 mph and this good be very dangerous on the freeway. I love the car but not real happy about this problem which is now become reoccurring!

I was surprised by my father when he got me a brand new Hyundai Tucson last May of 2011. My old car prior to this one was a Toyota Vios - manual transmission, so this is definitely something more special as it is bigger and it has an automatic transmission making the drive easier for me. I used my Hyundai going to work and it really did not disappoint me especially during rush hour. The handling of my Hyundai is very good. It is very fuel efficient and it accelerates smoothly - very zippy. It is very easy to drive and it doesnt seem to be too big especially for a girl like me who is not tall. The leg room at the back is also very spacious and could definitely accommodate tall people. The compartment at the back is also very big. I did not encounter any problems with my Hyundai up until the time that I sold it. I was really saddened when I have to say goodbye to it earlier this year because it was my favorite but my husband got a brand new Mitsubishi so we have to let go of our old Hyundai. Hyundai is definitely recommended!

We love the appearance of our Hyundai Sonata. However, it is covered under an oil consumption recall which the dealer will not fix. Hyundais complaint department is no help other than recommending us going to another dealer. The next dealer is further away from us. We already drive too far to the current dealer for them to do the oil consumption test. Said oil consumption test involves the dealer changing the oil early due to the oil consumption. They have guidelines that say the car must use 1 quart of oil by 1,000 miles. Our car makes it barely past 1,000 miles and then hits 2 quarts low before the oil change is due.We have been advised not to add oil or get oil changed anywhere other than the dealership. Thats what we are doing. They seem to overfill the oil each time which gets us barely past that 1,000 mile guideline. We cant trust this car for trips. We cant keep driving back and forth to the dealership for them to do nothing. We will not buy another Hyundai and we will continue to warn others of our troubles.

Hyundai has been a good car. My husband also bought a Hyundai after I got mine. I will probably get another one as my next car, too. Its very reliable and has had very little issues. I liked that it is safe and its not too big and not too small. It gets decent gas mileage. I liked how it looked. The trunk is quite big. It has a very good warranty. However, I wish the music system was better. Factory battery didnt last too long. I would like a back up camera and Bluetooth features to connect with my phone.

I own a Tucson ix35, I am very happy with the car to the point that I wanted to change my old one for a new Tucson. My disappointment started after I took it to the shop because of a hesitation problem. It was a Friday, at first I was attended adequately. They asked my phone to call me the next day (Saturday) to inform me what the car needed to solve the problem. They never called me until I showed up on Monday in the shop to see what the problem was. They have not even touched the car and they were surprised to see me there, at 3:00 p.m. I received a call telling me that the price was approximately 360 u.s.d because they did not know if other parts were faulty, showing that they have not checked the car professionally and technically to what I said to suspend the work. When I appeared to take my car, the person in charge tried to give me a not convincing explanation for the delay with a not very friendly attitude. After he was asked about report a serious shop is supposed to give the customers before delivering the car, the guy said Do you know what a check up is? and urged me to pay 39 u.s.d. My son was about to react but I signaled to calm down. I did not say a word, paid the bill and left the shop. The car was as dirty as I left (I do not know if they do not have any more the policy of delivering a clean car or simply the 39 dollars I paid are not worth it). Anyways the summary is: I as a customer feel mistreated and I am seriously reconsidering the possibility to buy another Hyundai. Take this information of my bad experience to try to improve the quality of the service. My best regards.

Nothing but problems from day one of this loan; first month wrong contract
Nothing but problems from day one of this loan; first month wrong contract information entered that I fought for 39 months. At month 36 of my 39-month lease, I learn they made an error and its a 48-month lease, We went around and around. Then turn in car at end of lease (48 months not 39-months mind you!) to have termination fees, return fees, mileage fees (I expected those), and had a $1400.00 bill. HMF tells me I can pay it incrementally via the same account. I pay $400. then $100 each month at the suggestion of the HMF call representative. I did this on principle because I was so mad about how I was treated so I decided to pay it slowly. Yesterday, I get a phone call from a collection agency saying I owe $1400.00. I explain I have the payment confirmations from my bank showing $900.00 in payments my husband has made--the agency says (quote) well hes lying. No payments have been made and you owe it. I call HMF today and the representative, Tanya, with a heavy Indian accent, tells me she sees the $900.00 and its in collection for $402.21. Again, I tell her that her Hyundai co-representative told me to pay it that way. She says, Ill make a note of that on your account but you have to make arrangements with the collection agency to pay it. I have never had collections on this or any car loan! OMG I was NEVER LATE NOT ONCE. It was auto-pay from my bank! I requested a statement with complete billing history and told Tanya I would pay Hyundai the full amount directly. I have been switched and mislead over and over. Buyer beware!

I bought a 2007 Hyundai Elantra in 2012. In 2013 I started having problems with getting the car to start. I took it to the dealership and was told I needed to have the Immobilizer Module fixed. I paid $400 to have them replaced and I was told I would have to wait for the little security symbol to appear on the dash before turning the key so the car would start. Even months after having this fixed it would still not start even after waiting for the stupid symbol to appear. It would take several tries. Then a few months later one of my back passenger door handles broke and you couldnt open the door. Fine, whatever... no one ever sits in the backseat anyway. Then the A/C died and I wasnt paying to have that fixed. Then in July 2015 I am driving down the freeway and I felt a thud and thought I had run over something. I looked in the rear view mirror but there was nothing on the road. I got to my destination and when I restarted the car, the engine light was on. I really didnt want to take it to the dealership so I took it to a mechanic and he scanned it and a code for the Shift Solenoid came up. He suggested I take it to this transmission specialist place. I ended up paying $1000 to have the Shift Solenoids replaced. A week later, Im driving and feel that thud again. Back to the transmission place. They tell me that it could be something internal with the transmission. Nice to know after I just dropped $1000 on this piece of **. I finally take it to Hyundai and leave it with them for the day. The service guy calls me and gives me a list as long as my arm of things wrong with the car... one being that the transmission is failing and the Immobilizer Module that I had fixed in 2013 needs replaced. In total, it was going to cost $5000 to fix all that was wrong with the car. EFF THAT. I went and bought a new car and it wasnt a Hyundai.

Three weeks ago, I went to the Hyundai dealership in Huntington, NY 11743 (Long Island). I was interested in leasing a 2013 Hyundai Sonata GLS. My salesmen Bob ** had asked me which model I was looking at and I told him the 2013 Hyundai Sonata GLS. Mr. ** brought around a grey and what he said was the GLS. I test drove it and was pleased as to how smooth and quiet it drove, so I then decided to lease one and decided on black with grey interior. I arrived at the dealership and picked up my car. I drove it home and noticed that it was driving not at all as the demo. It was loud and there is a clicking sound coming from under the hood. That same day I called my salesman up, told him and brought it right to him. He claims that he didnt hear anything unusual and what I was experiencing was normal. I asked him why I didnt experience this with the demo and he didnt have an answer for me. Then they scheduled an appointment for me to bring it into service to look at it. It was there all day and they claim nothing was wrong. To make sure I wasnt losing my mind, I test drove another GLS in their lot and that was better than mine. The salesman said it drives the same as mine. I then went to their Hicksville dealership, test drove a GLS and that drove quiet and had no ticking sounds. I went back to Huntington and the sales manager Steve ** listened to the vehicle and claims that he didnt hear anything wrong. I drove the car and the sales manager was in the passenger seat. He refused to drive it and said nothing was wrong and he cant do anything for me even after I told him that I test drove other GLS and they were fine, unlike my car. The sales manager also refused to actually drive my car and see. He said, I am too busy. I am not test driving your car. I then went to the West Islip dealership and explained to them whats going on. A salesman there came out and listened to my car and he heard the ticking sound. He said that is not normal. Even in front of his manager he said he heard the ticking sound. I am so beyond frustrated. Getting a new car is supposed to be enjoyable and all I want to do is cry. Its now three weeks that I have the car. Something is definitely not right. Please help me.

After buying a 2017 Hyundai Sonata Sport in October of 2016, we noticed, at the first washing of the car that the clear coat was marred in several areas. We immediately reported it to the dealer. We took it in, he agreed that it was a defect, and sent us to several different body shops to see if anything could be done. We had it detailed (at our expense) and buffed but the marred finish was still visible. The dealer then advised us to call the manufacturing which we did. After months and months of runarounds from Hyundai Corporation, we are no closer to getting our car fixed. Their case managers dont return our calls when they say they are going to and every time we call them, we have to repeat our story countless times. Today we were informed there was NOTHING they could do. Sorry! We feel like their customer service is very poor and that stall you, hoping you will give up hope and go away. I will never buy a Hyundai again after this experience.

I purchased two years ago a 2011 Hyundai Sonata Limited certified used from
I purchased two years ago a 2011 Hyundai Sonata Limited certified used from a local Hyundai dealership in Waterloo iowa. At the time had done it to replaced another Sonata that had electrical issues. Last September I was made aware via the Internet that my car had a major recall with the motor. At the time, I thought about trading the car in, but no dealership would touch the car because had a knocking noise which lower value of the car. So fast forward today, I eventually had the engine replace. When I picked up my car the dealership they not only replaced the engine but done the recalled for the brake stopper pad. Soon after my current nightmare started. The motor sound like it was whistling sound every time I drove it. At first I thought it was because it was braking in so I didnt let it worry me. Then a few months later it stop this when the knocking sound came back. Also car didnt want to shift right and one time it would not start at all. Last straw was the check engine light came on and stay on. I had taken the car into a local repair shop who put it on the computer. This is when he informed me that three of the four valves were gone. That should not happen if a complete engine was replaced. So I contact Hyundai to informed them that my engine was gone again and they need to buy back this piece of junk. They took their sweet you known what time to respond to my request or even find another solution to my problem. They cant be trusted. I should mention, on September 27 about 400 pm CST I almost in serious car accident with this piece of junk. As I pulled into the parking lot of daughters dance studio, I had applied my brakes. Was putting the car into park, when the car suddenly speed up and jump the curb coming within inches hitting the building. I was completely in shock when it happen. So, asked if she seen me put my foot brake on the brake. She told me yes.So right away I called Hyundai about this event and got told have my car tow to a local Hyundai dealership which would had been the one who had done the original recall work. I done it as told and when I did not hear back from Hyundai or the dealership where the car was tow to, I got a big song and dance from them that it went to some regional Manager I should hear back soon. As of yesterday did not hear back from them, so I had my car tow outed the dealerships parking lot and sent to another reliable automotive repair shop to have the car inspect for engine damage and the brakes fix.I was lucky I had not been killed driving this piece of junk. I am now 10,000 dollars under water with this car, and cant even drive it. My advice to all who are thinking about buying a certified used Hyundai Sonatas or any other hyundai product that matter is dont. You will get burn and hurt. Take it from me. They make a beautiful product for great value, but being cheap is the being not worth at the end.

I bought a Hyundai Elantra in 2007 with a three year warranty. Within the first two weeks, the indicator switch had to be replaced. This happened again over a period of a year and now that the warranty has expired, the indicator only works manually.Approximately 8 months after purchasing the vehicle, we heard a grinding rear noise, especially when reversing. It was very noticeable. I am an Estate Agent and it was embarrassing. The local mechanics examined the car and after saying that they knew exactly what they were doing, replaced the rear disk pads and callipurs, etc. with the approval of head office. A week later, the noise was back. I took it to the local supplier but they could not find the fault. My husband kept on saying that they should look at the release bearing and they ignored it. The car was eventually taken to Johannesburg, and a week later, I was informed that it was the release bearing. Remember, this was over a period of a year. They replaced the release bearing just before the warranty expired. All was fine for a few months and then we heard a noise in the engine. I took it in and was told that the valve lifters had to be replaced at a cost of $4,200.00. I phoned head office but they replied that it was out of warranty and not their problem anymore. The day we collected the car, we noticed that the noise had not disappeared. Fortunately, our car was at the wash bay when the workshop exploded (not so sure it was fortunate). The mechanic who released the car to us admitted that there was a noise, but seeing that they had no equipment, nothing could be done about it at that stage. When they arranged for an alternative workshop and the proper equipment, I took the car in. To my utter amazement, they phoned me a day later to tell me that the oil pump, timing chain, and tensioner had to be replaced at a cost of $10,000. Fix one thing and another one appears. What guarantee do I have that this will be the end of my woes and that the problem has been diagnosed properly? I spoke to the Manager, Ben, and told him that I wanted a second opinion and that I would take the car to Bloemfontein. He agreed with me and told me that a car with 70,000 km on the clock should not have all these problems and that I should take it further. I was really excited when I received my brand new car but now, I feel like setting it alight. My husband is so frustrated that he just wants to get rid of the car. We listened to an engine of a similar Elantra - what a difference. My brother in law had an Elantra which clocked 600,000 km and it hardly ever had any problems and that is one of the reasons why we bought one.Let me just say that the local supplier and his staff had always been helpful and friendly, but they can only help to a point and after that they have to abide by Imperials Rules. I will not stop until something is done about it.I appeal to you. Please see what you can do for me.

I really regret getting my car from Hyundai. Id be much more content spending more each month on a different car so that I didnt have to deal with Millennium Hyundai. The Service Department is rude. Im seven months pregnant with a toddler. I needed to know if there is a lender car available while my 2012 Sonata is looked at because Im not taking public transportation in the middle of the winter. I dont make car payments each month to take public transportation. The staff was rude when I called and when I asked to speak to the general manager, they claimed that he had just stepped out. I asked that he call me back before 5pm and to no surprise, he never called me back. The manager of the Service Department was not helpful, was impatient and condescending. When I finally did make an appointment, I got called into work that morning at the crack of dawn and couldnt drop the car off. Now, Im receiving emails and phone calls telling me to reschedule. But when I called, they dont answer any of my questions or offer any help. I cannot just drop the car off with a toddler, pregnant, take the bus and make it to work. Its not possible. I need Hyundai to work with me. I am now driving around in a car that stinks of fire and gasoline whenever I turn the heat or defrost on. Mind you, I have children in the car.Never again will I buy/lease from Hyundai and dont get me started on the tire pressure issue. Also, my husband went to the used car sales section of Millennium Hyundai. You would think they could get a name like first, middle, and last; especially since weve already done business with them! They keep calling and sending letters for (middle), (last), (first). Really? I cant wait for this lease to be up so that I can be done with this computer. For me, the consequence is that Im stuck with this car for the next 2.5 years. And for Hyundai, they lost a customer.

Zero Rating if possible. I dont really know where to begin with this brand and its terrible cars. I purchased a brand new Hyundai Sonata Turbo in 2013. Ive spent countless hours with my car in the shop over the car sputtering, shaking, cutting off at stop signs. Not to mention the electronics in the car are terrible; Bluetooth doesnt connect half the time for unknown reasons. Theres been at least 4 recalls done since I purchased this car. I had to get a total electrical discharge done to reset the electronics because the car was going haywire. Finally, Im down on Myrtle Beach for vacation and the car totally shuts off. Turns out it was a faulty engine that needed to be replaced. Took 30 days to get the engine sent in from Korea and replaced. Then somehow the rental car that I had racked up an amazing 2400 bill of which Hyundai determined to only pay $400. And then afterward I noticed the car jumping and things shifting and making horrible noises under the hood. Turns out the repairmen didnt screw the transmission mount screws on tight enough both of the bolts had the heads off and the transmission was moving around while I was driving. The dealership told me the car would be fine to drive and so I did until it just became unbearable. Now they want me to fork over another $1700 to replace the entire subframe that they messed up when installing the engine. Hyundai is a horrible company with Horrible cars. I will never purchase another thing from you and your terrible dealerships. Go out of business for the countries sake or leave your terrible cars in Korea.

My car (Santa Fe) was in park in my driveway which has a very slight incline and the car was running. I got out of the car, walked around it to get groceries out and went back to the drivers side to turn the car off. I put my right leg on the seat and reached around the steering wheel to grab the keys. The car started rolling backwards. My left leg was already outside the car and I was to get out but the car door knocked me down. The front tire ran over my right knee, my right elbow and arm, and my right wrist. I went to ER and was diagnosed with severe deep tissue contusions of my right leg and left arm right arm, sprained left ankle and right wrist. I watched the tire run over me and I watched the tire pass 4 from my head as it continued to roll down the driveway making a clicking noise, then jump the curb and stop in my neighbors yard (still in park and radio was on, but car not running). I towed the car to HYUNDAI. They said there was nothing wrong.

I am beyond disappointed and disgusted with the customer service and system
I am beyond disappointed and disgusted with the customer service and system that takes place for recall and warranty work. My engine light began flashing Friday morning and I instantly called my “home” dealership to inquire what to do. They said to pull over and not drive it any further and to contact roadside assistance to have it towed to the nearest Hyundai dealership. I did just that. My vehicle is a 2017, but purchased brand new March 2018. I am well under the 100,000 km/ 5 year warranty. Once we arrived at the dealership to get things rolling, I was informed that my vehicle has an engine recall - thanks for the notice in the mail on that one, Hyundai - NOT. So that was a major surprise to hear. I get back to work and receive a phone call from service that my engine failed all diagnostic tests and that I needed a new engine altogether. I confirmed all my services have been done through Sherwood Park Hyundai, so they said, Great, we’ll get them to send over your records and send everything off to Hyundai Canada for approval and get you a rental. I expressed how much I required a rental, as I am 8 months pregnant and my husband is not available to be driving me to and from work. They told me by Monday or Tuesday they would know the status of the engine and we can do the rental car. I had to call Monday afternoon for an update, she informed me that nothing had been approved yet, but by Tuesday we’d know. I once again explain the need for the rental. Received no phone call Tuesday, so at 2:45 pm I called them, again. Once again told Hyundai Canada still didn’t approve the warranty for the engine. Not only is this a RECALL, but I am under warranty. They then said I could pay $40/ day for a rental through them and once warranty was approved, they’d take it over. I asked if I’d be reimbursed, they said no. So Hyundai wants me to not only pay my bi-weekly payments on a vehicle I can’t drive, but also pay out of pocket for a rental when it should have already been dealt with and set up. RIDICULOUS. Having a vehicle gets me to my place of employment, which allows me to pay you people for the vehicle sitting in one of your dealerships waiting for an engine on a basically still new vehicle. They were not willing to a single thing to help me out. I will never be buying a Hyundai again. My husband is already looking at getting rid of his also due this service. I owned 3 Chevy’s prior to the Tucson thinking it was a good move. Worst decision and full regret. Things started great with Hyundai and has plummeted over the years. Whenever my vehicle was in the shop with Chevy they ensured they had a fleet/lot vehicle available to me to drive. When I had to get warranty work done and they required to keep my vehicle for 3 days, they had a rental available to me instantly. Odd, they had no issue getting me in a rental ASAP. Hyundai, you are beyond disappointing and I am disgusted with your customer service.

My engine gave out 12/15, its now 1/27 and its been at the dealership for over a month now. A week after the New Year, and after various calls and check ups, I finally got an answer that my warranty would be extended on the engine. The communication has not been the best at all. They offered me a rental but only in the city that the incident happened in which is 6 hours away from home. In addition, I exhausted over $1,000 on hotel/car repairs after the incident took place. I did my due diligence to submit all the info needed for my reimbursement as soon as I found out the engine was a Hyundai issue. I submitted at least 15 documents pertaining to my proof of ownership and explained that I was stranded in an unfamiliar town for two days due to my engine failing. Ive been more than patient and am still without my vehicle, which is somewhat understanding because repairs and ordering parts take time...the funds that I lost however should not take this long to recover. Since then Ive called in several times to get an update and was assigned a case manager Christina who I missed the call from and when I contacted her back two days later I havent received a response back in a week now. Ive left emails and voicemails each day, and once again contacted customer care to escalate the issue. The agents Ive spoken to were thorough and seemed to care but are powerless in rectifying issue. I work 10 hours a day and when someone has an issue, I look to rectify that problem within 24hrs. We may enter another season by the time I get my money back. Once I pay this vehicle off in full, I will not be doing business with Hyundai again, and I dont recommend anyone else to. Your time and money are not valued enough.

Whatever you do when you buy a Hyundai, carry Emergency Roadside with your insurance company. DO NOT RELY ON THIS PIECE OF CRAP SERVICE! Especially when it comes to your safety! Locked keys in car, as well as money, credit cards, and of course, cell phone. Only had new Accent about 4 months, decided she has it out for me. Ive never had such bad luck with any of the possibly 20 cars Ive owned. Im not here to write all my complaints about this gas guzzling, gutless, cheap economy car. But the 800 # on the window? Scrap it off and toss it. Wont do any good, unless you have your phone, flashlight, eyeglasses, and nothing better to do than stand in the rain, at night, in a sketchy hood in the dark fighting off bums for almost three hours. I dont care what youve heard about Hawaii and Aloha spirit! Most Local People HATE ** people and do not like to be bothered by us in time of need, no way no how. Ive lived here many years and can tell you Aloha is a farse, like, an honest politician. Kid at gas station did NOT appreciate my asking to use the business phone for an emergency, then called number on car door, was still daylight so could read vin #. Took forever to answer all the questions, then the customer service guy said he needed callback #. Told him I didnt have one available, the business phone was not happening, and my phone is locked in car. I was very descriptive of my location, no callback # available but was assured, within an hour??? I would be assisted but need to stay by car. So hour and a half go by, no one. I reluctantly asked kid to use phone again, called 800 # again, they had no record of my first call, so again they want my vin #, dark now cant see it, my name, phone #, email address couldnt find my ownership anywhere, they need a call back #, Im pissed at this point. They would not be able to promise help without callback #. So tried to break out back window, kid from gas station finally feeling sorry for poor 60 yr old woman in the rain and the dark, assisted me with calling a nearby locksmith. Almost 3 hrs later and $250 cash!!! Not even gonna bother with asking for any refund, ya already know theres fine print somewhere excluding the hardship I went through. So, because the car is crap, roadside service is crap, warranty will be crap when I tell em to shove the $60, less than 1000 mile, every three month oil change, without even so much as a vacuum job. Wait til they see the back window I tried to bang out with a rock! Screw it. Crappy car. Crappy service.

From the hundreds of complaints I have read about Hyundai and their airbag lights, Im beginning to understand that you either live with this problem or you find another car. I pulled out my airbag fuse because Im tired of looking at the light and Im certain that this is a problem that neither I (mechanic for 8 years) or a mechanic at a Hyundai dealer could ever fix. My car is a 2003 Hyundai accent. I maintain this car very well and Im happy with the decent gas millage it gets, but safety is also a huge priority. Im not going to put my life on the line because Hyundai doesnt want to provide support for their customers. Let us know what the problem is so customers like myself could at least fix it.Obviously, this is a consistent and similar problem, otherwise you wouldnt have so many thousands of people complaining. Tells us and make the solution affordable, quit lying to people Hyundai. Glad my other car is a Nissan and not another Hyundai. Hyundai = embarrassment.

On May 17, 2012, I purchased two Hyundai cars - a 2012 Sonata and a 2012 Accent. When I tried to register as the owner on their website, I got the message: Email address already entered. I tried to reset my password approximately 15 times and when I would try to log on using the password they sent, I would get the message: Incorrect email or password. I talked to Hyundai representatives many times with no success. I found out the dealer where I purchased the cars had entered my email address wrong and only they could change it. I also found out they had entered a PIN and a security question which I knew nothing about. Now, after about fifteen phone calls, they refuse to talk to me.They say it is my computer but I have tried on three different computers and have run Microsoft diagnostics on my computer without any problems. I can log onto their financial website without problems as well as all other secure sites. At this point, they will not answer my emails or phone calls. I cannot log on to blue link, and I cannot register as owner of the Accent. They claim that they can log on using my email and the reset password. I dont believe they are being truthful.

The 2012 Hyundai Sonata is pretty and stylish inside and out. I bought the Limited Trim with all the bells and whistles. Problems: The steering began to tug to one side while the car was still under bumper-to-bumper warranty. We took the car several times to the dealership and they could not see anything wrong with the vehicle. I was told this behavior was within Hyundais specification and that it was normal for the vehicle. This is the first vehicle that I have owned that has this abnormal normalcy. This problem has not gone away. Vibration. I cannot tell you enough how irritated I have been with this vibration. Once you go over a certain speed (Im not sure at the moment, but Im not talking of highway speed - just normal in-town speed), the car begins to vibrate. Ive gone to the dealership over and over and over. I am tired and angry that a brand new 2012 car will behave this way and the people at the dealership cant figure out what the seems to be the problem. Not too long ago, my wife and I noticed that when turning the vehicle made a certain noise as if something was about to break, as if some metal was hitting another metal. The dealership said it was a steering column problem and we had to pay out of pocket to fix it since we have put over 60,000 miles on the car. The car has gone out of bumper-to-bumper warranty. The lingering problems (listed above), I have to fix out of pocket. It will take a lot, a whole lot, for me to buy a Hyundai vehicle ever again. I loved the roominess and stylishness of the Sonata, but it seems that those are about all it has. I am very disappointed in this vehicle to say the least. My 2009 Chrysler 300C never gave me these troubles.
