This car was sold to me as a higher end model, so my expectations coincided with that. About a month into ownership, the car started emitting this terrible smell every time I accelerated onto the interstate. As winter progressed, the smell stopped. When the heat returned, it came back. It seems to stop after a while then return after oil changes. Ive had the vehicle a little over 2 years now, and the compressor already died. I dont even run the A/C over the 3rd bar even on the hottest days! Gas mileage already seems to be waning. I was doing 40mpg (primarily interstate driving) on regular unleaded with 10% ethanol. Now its doing 35 or so. I really like the push button start and car door lock/unlock.However, Ive been having trouble getting the car to lock over the past couple of months. Ill press the button as usual and nothing happens. Its sporadic, cant find a pattern by temperature, weather, or amount driven. On a different note, the volume doesnt automatically adjust to engine speed, so Im constantly adjusting the volume. I would much rather pay attention to driving! On a positive note, the car is comfortable and rides well. The heat and A/C work quickly (when they function). Two settings on the heated seats is really nice.

On Memorial Day, I purchased a Hyundai Tucson Sport AWD 1.6L Turbo. This is my first time purchasing a Hyundai and I really made the purchase because of the warranty. Now I am having buyers remorse. The vehicle I purchased drives great on the highway, but is not easy to drive in city traffic. I experience a lot of hesitation and jerkiness when pressing on the gas pedal to accelerate from a complete stop. I have complained about this to the dealer and was told I need to get used to the gas pedal because that is the nature of the turbo engine. I have also experienced a lot of static on FM radio stations. The owners manual mentions that static does not mean there is anything wrong with the radio, it is just a poor signal coming to the car due to distance from the tower or perhaps trees or buildings blocking the signal. I have even experienced outages when I tune into XM stations using Sirius. I will get silence for up to three minutes. The dealer told me to bring it in at my convenience and they will check out the radio, but I have a feeling if it does not act up while they have it, they will just re-iterate what the owners manual says. I have never had these issues with any of my previous vehicles, so I think these are design issues with this model. I am not a happy Hyundai owner to say the least.

I bought an Elantra GT with 24,500 miles on it on April 1st. Right away we realized the car had several issues, one of which being the fuel economy. We averaged 17-18 mpg in town and never more than 26-27 on the hwy. Then we noticed a hissing noise when shifting, and a ping/chatter to the engine while accelerating. Then we noticed a metallic ringing when the A/C is on. The CD player was also non-functional. There were some other smaller issues as well, but Hyundai has been working to resolve them. The CD player was fixed, as with some other small things. The engine and transmission noises, poor fuel economy, and metallic ringing, were not able to be diagnosed after several attempts. Now Hyundai is working with me to do a manufacturer Buyback/lemon claim. They are extremely polite, prompt with responses, understanding of my situation and more than willing to help me. Within hours of contacting them via email, I had an open case with its own case number and everything. Currently they are confirming that nothing can be done to fix the car, then we will move forward with the buyback. They have stayed in constant contact, and always in a timely manner. Very pleased with Hyundai overall. If you have a legitimate case, Hyundai will provide legitimate help.

We have a new Hyundai Sonata purchased 4.31.2001. We currently have about 12,000 miles and the tires will not make it though the winter. They have been rotated as per instructions, the wear on the tires is even. Have had no satisfaction from dealer, they wanted me to rotate at 3K. Tires are Kumho Solus 94H M+S. Why should new tires on a new car not make it 20,000 miles before they have to be replaced?

I own a Tucson ix35, I am very happy with the car to the point that I wanted to change my old one for a new Tucson. My disappointment started after I took it to the shop because of a hesitation problem. It was a Friday, at first I was attended adequately. They asked my phone to call me the next day (Saturday) to inform me what the car needed to solve the problem. They never called me until I showed up on Monday in the shop to see what the problem was. They have not even touched the car and they were surprised to see me there, at 3:00 p.m. I received a call telling me that the price was approximately 360 u.s.d because they did not know if other parts were faulty, showing that they have not checked the car professionally and technically to what I said to suspend the work. When I appeared to take my car, the person in charge tried to give me a not convincing explanation for the delay with a not very friendly attitude. After he was asked about report a serious shop is supposed to give the customers before delivering the car, the guy said Do you know what a check up is? and urged me to pay 39 u.s.d. My son was about to react but I signaled to calm down. I did not say a word, paid the bill and left the shop. The car was as dirty as I left (I do not know if they do not have any more the policy of delivering a clean car or simply the 39 dollars I paid are not worth it). Anyways the summary is: I as a customer feel mistreated and I am seriously reconsidering the possibility to buy another Hyundai. Take this information of my bad experience to try to improve the quality of the service. My best regards.

I have had my Veloster for 1.75 years and in the last two months, it has been in the shop now two times to have the fuel pump replaced. This time, a week while the tech talked with the company tech because they didnt know what was wrong, decided to replace the fuel pump again but mentioned it had two fuel pumps. I cant find anything about a second fuel pump. I am really concerned as it at times wont go over 20 mph and this good be very dangerous on the freeway. I love the car but not real happy about this problem which is now become reoccurring!

I am writing to you today regarding my Hyundai Sonata Hybrid that I bought
I am writing to you today regarding my Hyundai Sonata Hybrid that I bought brand new in August 2016. It’s been less than 2 years and we already had to take our vehicle to the mechanic 4 times to the Hyundai maintenance service. After going to Hyundai mechanics numerous times they are still uncertain about the fault in my vehicle. My wife and I have been very disappointed with our first Hyundai Sonata. Numerous times we have gone back to the Hyundai maintenance shop to attempt to have our vehicle fixed, which then follows up with me getting a rental car for the day. The very following next day I have to pick up my car again as the mechanic tells me the issue is resolved but it’s not. I’ve listed the days below for details when my Sonata has malfunctioned.Heading from Santa Clara to San Francisco about 40 miles drive. Was looking for parking and when in the middle of the road my vehicle decided to stop without any warning. It wouldn’t start and we had to wait about 20-25 minutes for my car to start again. We followed up with Hyundai the next day and they said they didn’t find any issues with it. Therefore I wasn’t able to have any record of it in the Hyundai maintenance system. The second time it occurred when my wife and I were heading to Long Beach for our Babymoon. Our issue happened multiples times during our trip. Every time we stopped by at the gas station our vehicle malfunctioned. We had to wait 30 minutes before the car would start again. At that time I felt very unsafe as I had my pregnant wife with me and was hoping the car wouldn’t stop while I was driving. Due to the malfunction, our trip was not only delayed but dangerous for my wife.During this time they had found a fault in the vehicle and had to replace BMS. Invoice number ** on Feb 7th 2018. Our third accident happened after getting my vehicle back from the maintenance, I had to go to SF Airport to pick up my friend and the car stopped again! Replaced OPU, OL Pump Unit. Invoice number ** on Feb 14th 2018. The fourth accident happened when we had an emergency and had to take our dog to the vet for his surgery and after dropping him off my car stopped again! Replaced PRA. Invoice number ** on Feb 20th 2018. Mileage of my Vehicle still under 50,000The Hyundai service center has not been able to find the problem and resolve it even after having numerous types of test. After going to the Hyundai service center numerous times, I have the fear of my vehicle of being very unsafe and I don’t want to take any kind of risk with my family in it. I am afraid that my vehicle will stop at the stop light or worse during the drive. Looking forward to hearing back from you regarding Hyundai Malfunction Issue.

I co-signed for a car for a relative whose car got repossessed. They sold the car at an auction for $6,000.00. Now they have placed a lien on my car because I cannot come up with roughly $13,000.00 for the car that was repossessed. I have been making monthly payments until I get it resolved ($13.000.00). I have never been late/ahead on my 2011 Hyundai Tucson. They have been unwilling to cooperate with me about this issue.I corresponded in writing (30 days in advance). Im permanently disabled & on a set salary. They said to contact them within 30 days, which I did, & heard nothing from them. I have paid $1,600.00 toward the repossession. Now they have placed a lien on my car. I replied to them in writing, no phone, & have not heard anything. I told them I could not obligate myself for a set amount because of medicine, doctor bills, medical bills, & daily living expenses in this economy. Like I said, I have heard nothing in writing from them. I am supposed to cooperate with them, while in return they have not assisted me. I signed 2 cars from them.

In Europe Hyundai offer a 5 year, unlimited mileage warranty, with Hyundai Assistance (Call us for anything you need. Even if it a tyre with low pressure, is the sales pitch). Last Sunday I called them and told them that my left headlamp was not working on my 2 year 10 month old Hyundai. Additionally it was a Sunday and I needed to drive the car at night. They sent a mechanic, but alas, he did not have a lamp (!!!). I took the car to the garage the following day and despite all the issues, they charged 60 euro (approx 78 USD) for a lamp claiming that warranty does not cover the lamps. Lol...

I was forced to sign a lease for 2012 Hyundai Elantra by Herb Chambers Hyundai of Auburn, promising a great deal and rebate. But they have put more than $3,000 above their MSRP of $21,495. They gave me no rebate. When questioned, they said this particular car doesnt have a rebate. But that car always remained in their specials page with all the other deals! They did all malpractices in the lease calculation and made me put a down of $530 - $2,000 cash and $3,300 trade-in. Still, they made my monthly installment $291.44 for 36 months with 12,000 miles per year.Their advertisement says MSRP $21,495, monthly installment $234 for $0 down! I paid $5,300 down but my installment is much higher than what their ad says. I contacted them many times with this but their response was so sarcastic and humiliating. The managing director asked me, Then why did you take the car? in a very sarcastic way. They even openly accepted that they put a higher MSRP purposefully and they do have the right from Hyundai to do so.I complained in Hyundai consumer affairs but they closed the case just listening to the dealer saying that they gave me a huge package of accessories which made the price difference. The accessories the dealer gave me did not cost beyond $1,000, but the lady who represented Hyundai was not willing to listen to me. She was in a hurry to close the case. I am trying to get justice in some or other way.

Hyundai treated me with total disregard regarding my disposition fee being extended. I had a hip injury and need a hip replacement. Therefore, it would be foolish to get a new car and not be able to drive it. They were not understanding at all and was only interested in the disposition fee being paid to them. I paid the fee and wrote a letter asking if they would reimburse me the $439.05 until September 2019 when I would be able to drive again and purchase a new car from them at that time. They refused me and showed no compassion or consideration to me at all. It was all about the money they wanted. The whole disposition fee is to repair the car of any problems or cosmetic issues. My car was UNDER 13,500 miles which definitely improves the value of the car. I’m the only one that drove it and it was taken perfect care of. I even had an oil change done on it and filled the car up with gas the day I turned it in. The gentleman at Circle Hyundai said he never saw a car returned that still looked brand new. I will NEVER buy another Hyundai and will be sure to tell my family & friends of the total disregard they gave me. I was never treated so badly by a Corporation in my life. That did it for me and Hyundai.

I leased a 2017 Hyundai Elantra and was very unhappy with the auto. I contacted the dealer who said they would sell me a 2017 Hyundai Tucson and purchase the Elantra from me, I paid them $4350.00 which took care of early lease return fees, taxes and everything else. This was a purchase and sale. I have all the papers to prove this and tried to explain to them, Hyundai leasing, that I do not owe them anything and, if any monies have to be paid it would be by the Dealer, not me. Now they have reported me delinquent to the credit bureaus and as a result my credit scores have been reduced and as a result this has cost me higher interest fees, etc. I have disputed this with Equifax, Transunion and Experian but not successful. What can I do to rectify this???

On March 19, 2014, around 2pm I was driving home from my place of work in Temecula, CA, where my car had been off & parked for at least three hours. I was northbound on Highway 15, between Murrieta Hot Springs and California Oaks Road, in my 2011 Hyundai Sonata. The car seemed to be driving fine until suddenly the car immediately starting smoking from under the hood and as I was pulling over to the side of the freeway, flames emerged. As soon as I pulled over and put the car in park, I hopped out hoping it wouldnt blow up with me inside. Then, after multiple failed attempts to extinguish the fire, it finally went out with the help of a few good Samaritans. Im extremely thankful, my fiancee and baby girl were not in the car with me. According to the incident report, it was the fuel line that had failed. Yet according to the Hyundai reps who have contacted me since towing my car to Hyundai in Temecula, they cannot determine the cause of the fire. Ive done some extensive research on similar occurrences only to find out that there have been multiple unresolved fires in Hyundai Sonatas around the US. After 2 months of a thorough investigation on my vehicle, they sent me a letter stating they had no idea what caused the fire. So, they cannot agree that the fire was caused by the vehicle. Ive found plenty others with the same issue. Can you say CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT!?

OEM radio not covered under any warranty. I have a 2015 Santa Fe. One hour after I took delivery, a HID headlight started flickering. Astonishingly, Hyundai denied the claim initially as its a ‘wear and tear’ part. An hour old… Eventually, they caved and replaced it. 3 years later, the Infotainment unit started looping on startup. Despite their vaunted 5-year warranty, and the 7-year extended Hyundai branded warranty I bought, its not covered. $4000 OEM, and Hyundai could not have cared-less if they tried. Do not trust hyundai – not the car, not the company, not the warranty. Not even the dealership. Avoid at all costs. And costs be sure!

I purchased a 2013 Hyundai Elantra GT new, and have driven it for four years, putting about 70K miles on it. Based on my multiple bad experiences with this car, I will never again purchase another Hyundai vehicle. First - as is well known, the true MPG is nowhere near the marketing claims made by Hyundai (and there is an unresolved class action lawsuit underway to address that). Then I had a problem where the rear quarter-panel window trim fell off - fortunately I found a TSB published on the internet about that, so Hyundai fixed it under warranty. If I hadnt researched the problem and printed out the TSB, the dealer would have charged me $$$ for the repair. Then most recently I had a problem where the clutch started chattering/slipping. My mechanic discovered that the transmission input shaft seal was defective/leaking. Even though this is covered by the Hyundai 10 year/100K warranty - Hyundai refused to honor the warranty and pay for the repair. I cant wait to trade in this car, and kiss Hyundai goodbye forever. If you are considering buying a Hyundai vehicle, I would recommend purchasing instead a vehicle with higher quality/reliability and from a manufacturer who stands behind their product and their warranty commitments (think Honda, Toyota, Mazda). And definitely dont count on the Hyundai 10 year/100K warranty actually providing you any protection from product defects.

A swamp-like smell was coming from ac. First time tech changed cabin filter; smell got worse. second time they cleaned out ac system with a chemical. smelled chemical for weeks & then mold/mildew odor retd. So third time they performed a neutralization & deionization which resulted in an intense foul citrus odor. fourth time they installed a frigi-clean evap foam, new air filter & deodorization of vehicle interior which has resulted in another intense foul odor causing breathing problems. These foul odors were making me ill giving me a headache, burning eyes, throat & allergies & asthma. I told them from beginning I have these medical issues. after the third try I was told by service mgr troy that they had done all they could to resolve problem. after confronting him re: my displeasure he said he would call his people at Hyundai to see what they wanted to do. Next thing woman who sold me car is calling me??? I bought this Hyundai elantra 2013 new in 5/2012. I said I wanted to meet with the owner of Hyundai dealership. I had an appt on Sat to do so. I arrive on time Sat & am told by saleswoman owner left at 3 pm day before & will not be in. I was livid. So now general mgr comes out to talk to me in a private office & then the service mgr joins us & listen to my complaints & then tell me they have another procedure (4th one) that will take care of problem. They gave me a loaner where previously I had been refused one when requested. I work full time & have been inconvenienced many times having to take days or half-days out of work or inconvenience someone to take me to drop off & pick up car to be serviced b/c I was never told until recently they had a shuttle service.I have filed a complaint with Hyundai complaint center; waiting to hear from regional office & have also filed a complaint with the better business bureau. Unfortunately my car is paid for or I would park it on dealership doorstep while I filed complaints. the car looks beautiful on outside but like some people looks are deceiving & rotten on the inside. This car is a lemon. I want a new car or my $ back. I have two friends who purchased a Toyota car the same time I purchased my car. they have not had this problem. I was on my way to work this morning and a tractor trailer nearly slammed me from behind. Later, I was flagged by a woman, who nearly ran into the back of me, and told that I had no break lights. Now I knew why the tractor trailer nearly ran me over in the morning. I went home and checked everything; bulbs, fuses, connections, and pedal. No brakes. So, I looked online for possible reasons for this and found that Hyundai had a major recall for this thing called the break relay switch. So, I looked for something that would show me where it is, how to change it, and possible other reasons for the problem. Nothing. Next, and finally, I called Hyundai and asked if there has been a problem. I was told that there is nothing that they can do and that I should go to the dealer for a check. The woman on the phone told me there are no recalls on my 2011 Hyundai Accent. I asked her if it turned out to be this switch issue that has resulted in the massive recalls for other model years, would they reimburse me or approve me to repair this and she stated that Hyundai would not. I told the lady that this is my 4th Hyundai and I have had few issues. However, losing both brake lights at the same time for no apparent reason is suspect. I am very displeased that, in spite of the million recalls for a seemingly identical problem, they would not reimburse me or approve repairs to it if it is indeed the problem. It is a shame that a loyal customer of a product and who has spent almost $100K with a company, is not honored for the loyalty given. It will be a shame for Hyundai if, for the price of a $10 part and service charge, they lose a customer. So, Hyundai, if you read this, tomorrow I am going to follow your advise and drive my car to the dealer. If they tell me it is the brake relay switch, I will trade my car in and never purchase another vehicle from your company if you or dealer do not do the right thing for a part that seems to be responsible!

I bought it from a Chevy Dealer, did a trade in on my 2011 Chevy Cruze, which was mechanically sound/perfect. Now, the dealership tells me they had to send it to a Hyundai Dealership for further review. HELLO my father has been a mechanic for 20 years. A GM Mechanic (he lived in another state or I would have him fix it). He knew exactly what was wrong - electrical/computer issue. Once the car reaches a certain temperature the car shuts down. I relay this to the dealership and they treat me like I have no clue. Come to find out after them spending 4 long days on it, its a computer/electrical issue. I cannot believe I am going through this with a new purchase. I am stressed, pissed and paying for a car I cannot even drive/let alone have for more then 4 hours. Lastly, today I found out that there is a recall on this car. I told them I dont want this car anymore. I do not feel safe and to put me in something else. They flat out told me no because they will fix my car. Oh yeah fix my car? WHEN! I am still waiting.

Although a 6 speed manual, 2 door car might not be everyones cup of tea, I really like this 3.8 L/350 HP coupe. It runs very easily in traffic and has plenty of capability when given a clear road to play on. I have had no significant complaints in the 42,000 miles I have driven it and Hyundai have covered every little issue that I have had. Warranty and service are great but gas consumption isnt!

I would give this company 0 stars if possible. My 2016 Sante Fe motor messed up while on a trip out of town. It was covered under warranty. Left car in Arkansas to have it repaired. Was told by consumer affairs the dealership would provide a rental or I could rent and be reimbursed up to $25 a day. We got the only rental available in this small town which was $100/day. I was not contacted by this company for over 3 weeks, stating they have not yet assigned a case manager. When I finally got one, he was no help either. Told them I can’t afford to keep renting. He pretty much had me do all the work!Contact dealerships asking for loaner, which they say they don’t have. They really need to change their policies. Asked them to tow it to my local dealership thinking they could repair it more quickly. Of course, they left that up to dealership too, which refused. So now 10 wks later, car still not fixed and over $5k in rental costs. They need to take responsibility for these dealerships that represent the Hyundai brand! The only explanation they give is we have no control over the dealerships. I actually love my car, but this company in general needs to improve on service. I won’t ever purchase another Hyundai based on this experience.

Beware brand new vehicle tire blow out!!!! To make a long story short, I am a car enthusiast and previously a Honda, Nissan, Toyota, Mazda, and Volkswagen buyer. After hearing my co-workers speak well about the Hyundai product I decided to give it a try and went well for a few years until a couple of months ago. Just recently accompanied my in-laws to purchase their 2019 Hyundai Sante Fe Limited, shortly after a couple months ago they had a side wall blow out from the right rear tire by simply going down the road without striking any debris or objects on the road with only having 2000 miles on there new car! We were prompted to call the tire manufacture by the dealers service department to find out it was Continental Tires when owners manual stated we were suppose to have Hankook or Kumho tires? Called Continental and AND THEY STATED TIRES DO NOT HAVE ANY WARRANTY!!!! I WILL (NEVER) BUY ANY CONTINENTAL TIRES OR A HYUNDAI AGAIN! Due to the fact that manufacturers dont care about consumers safety or welfare, this tire blowout was very similar to the Firestone defective tires back in the day that caused many lives sadly. Basically if Hyundai is putting a tires on there cars that are defective and neither want to take responsibly by making it right for the consumer, frankly its not worth buying!! My In-laws sadly ended up paying for a new tire $258.00 plus install because Continental said their tires have no warranty! I just recently finishing purchasing a new Mazda, and when my in-laws are done with this Hyundai it will be their last!! FYI also you might want to have it in writing on new car tire warranty because this was a lesson learned experience with tires, reason for buying new cars is so that you dont have to be buying parts, tires, or car repair. Hopefully this will help someone in the near future. Thank you for reading.

I would Strongly recommend not to buy Hyundai car, Especially PUSH BUTTON start. I am having I20 and facing a lot of trouble with the push button system. The car doesnt starts for hours. You will have to wait in traffic for hours to start the car again if turned off on lights. Very poor after sale service. Hyundai doesnt have solution to this problem yet. I have been struggling from past 2 years. The attitude of Hyundai Service Managers is very irresponsible. Faced a lot of harassment. In-fact being a loyal Hyundai customer from past 10 years I would rate 0.01 out of 5. No Initiatives, no responses from Hyundai in this regard. I repeat NEVER BUY HYUNDAI PUSH BUTTON CARS. For details you may contact **.

I been having Warranty Issues since I bought my 2010 Elantra . Starting out with failing Brake Lights to causing misfire and to end it the EPS. When going to the Dealership for the engine issue, I had been told I have water leaking into my cylinder that needs to be cleaned out due to my car not having the engine light on. The same day the car had seemed to misfire and the engine light came on. I drove to the first Auto repair shop I saw and they run the diagnostic and it showed a code. They told me the issue was under warranty and I should bring it to the Dealership. I asked if they could clean the grease out a little so it would stop jerking. They did. I took it ten miles down the road to the Dealership and left it with them. Next day, they called me and told me all I had is some water in my cylinder and that it wasnt covered by warranty. So when I got to the dealership, he showed me the bill what was even more as that from the repair shop to fix the gasket. They explained to me they couldnt pull a code and the code given by me to them wasnt making any sense. So I took my car to Firestone and had them look into the so-called water in my cylinder. As they they couldnt find any water anywhere. Long story short, they didnt honor the warranty at all. Now the EPS seems to be failing and Hyundai expect the code to to read in order to honor the warranty. Well Dear Hyundai, the EPS dont stay on and you cant pull a code because no one be able to drive with the EPS out to the dealership so they can see the light is on. So again another bill on the Buyer cause Hyundai. So what Im trying to say is buying a Hyundai is a waste of money. They also stated what I called and complained, You dont have any Oil Changes on file with the dealership. Really I never had any issues with my VW when I took it to the Dealership about anything. And they did listen to the customers concerns and try to help and not send you out with issues that they didnt want to fix under warranty. This was my first and last Hyundai I had Purchased.

Three weeks ago, I went to the Hyundai dealership in Huntington, NY 11743 (Long Island). I was interested in leasing a 2013 Hyundai Sonata GLS. My salesmen Bob ** had asked me which model I was looking at and I told him the 2013 Hyundai Sonata GLS. Mr. ** brought around a grey and what he said was the GLS. I test drove it and was pleased as to how smooth and quiet it drove, so I then decided to lease one and decided on black with grey interior. I arrived at the dealership and picked up my car. I drove it home and noticed that it was driving not at all as the demo. It was loud and there is a clicking sound coming from under the hood. That same day I called my salesman up, told him and brought it right to him. He claims that he didnt hear anything unusual and what I was experiencing was normal. I asked him why I didnt experience this with the demo and he didnt have an answer for me. Then they scheduled an appointment for me to bring it into service to look at it. It was there all day and they claim nothing was wrong. To make sure I wasnt losing my mind, I test drove another GLS in their lot and that was better than mine. The salesman said it drives the same as mine. I then went to their Hicksville dealership, test drove a GLS and that drove quiet and had no ticking sounds. I went back to Huntington and the sales manager Steve ** listened to the vehicle and claims that he didnt hear anything wrong. I drove the car and the sales manager was in the passenger seat. He refused to drive it and said nothing was wrong and he cant do anything for me even after I told him that I test drove other GLS and they were fine, unlike my car. The sales manager also refused to actually drive my car and see. He said, I am too busy. I am not test driving your car. I then went to the West Islip dealership and explained to them whats going on. A salesman there came out and listened to my car and he heard the ticking sound. He said that is not normal. Even in front of his manager he said he heard the ticking sound. I am so beyond frustrated. Getting a new car is supposed to be enjoyable and all I want to do is cry. Its now three weeks that I have the car. Something is definitely not right. Please help me.

I really loved driving my Hyundai Tiburon! Out of all of the cars on the lot, I liked it the best. I even recommend it to other people! It was a great car and made me like Hyundai as a car maker. I drove the car from Florida to Ohio and it ran beautifully the whole time! It was a small car and a standard transmission. It was great on gas and even though it was only a 4cyl. motor, it was very quick. However, I wish that the seat would have been more adjustable and that it would have gone up and down. I am a short person, so I had trouble seeing over the dashboard!

Ive been leasing this car for about 2 months and the brand new car shut off
Ive been leasing this car for about 2 months and the brand new car shut off on me randomly twice! First time it shut off I had to pick my toddler up from daycare that is 40 min away and they told me they will come in about an hour and half to tow my car. And they will not give me a loaner or anything to replace the vehicle while being looked at while my toddlers school closed and they are waiting for me to grab him. I kept trying to start the car in a panic and 2 hours later before the tow truck got to me the car started and I rushed to get him. The next day took the car to get looked at Paramus Hyundai service center and spent the whole day there with my baby for them to tell me my car is fine and told me I gotta go that they are closing. Meanwhile I tell them I do not feel safe driving with my baby in a car that shuts off with no warnings in middle of the road and I want a loaner and this car looked at more to find the problem. They said no and thats not their problem. Following week sure enough the car shuts off again at 8pm in middle of the road with my dogs and baby in the car and this time it never went back on. Cops stopped the traffic moved the car off road and when I called the sos they told me they cannot tow the car because the service center is closed and they cant get permission to park the car there... So we walked home from that area about a 15-20 min walk at around 10pm. I had to drag the baby back with me early morning to tow the car and sit at the service center all day with my poor son crying. And eventually that place brought me to tears, having me there all day not telling me anything until the very end of the day giving me a lot of problems about giving me a loaner car and only pulling some string and giving me a car seeing that Im stuck there with a fed up toddler. No one helping me, no one cared the first time it broke, now I do not feel safe in this car. I also want money back from the time I spent without a working car. I pay so much money for my time lost sitting on the phone and being transferred from person to person to tell me they cannot help me, calling corporate for them to transfer me from person to person for an hour me explains my issues over and over again to different people for them to tell me someone will call me that can help me in 3-5 business days!!! Are they crazy?! I dont want this car. I dont want to deal with anyone from Hyundai anymore!!! Im fed up, my family is fed up. I have never had so many problems with a car or with customer service as I do with this Hyundai Tucson limited! Im disgusted with the way I have been treated and I cannot believe Im still in this unsafe car that supposedly was fixed. A car that ** off like this after 2 months of driving it brand new is not a safe car and is not worth $466 a month! PS. There is a lot more to all this but I wanted to make it as short as possible. Bottom line me and my baby were put in unsafe position twice and no one does anything about it!

Took car in - eng. light on, abs, 4 wheel light, esc light on. First off they charged me 150 to diagnose eng. light which should have been covered under warranty because light was on. Second abs, 4wd, and esc light was on due to and to have car inspected the dealer claims car wont pass inspection because of brakes and rear tires (they did same last year - when I left that dealer and went to a local Ford dealer the car passed with no problems. I couldnt take the car to the Ford dealer this year because eng. light was on). Wheel speed sensor (which they replaced last year [other side]) dropped off on Monday 4/20/15. Was called on 4/24/15 car was done picked up car on 4/25/15 cause I work 2nd shift so did not get call till midnight when I got home. Went Sat. morn to pick up car - drove car home. While getting ready to go to work noticed oil on back window, tail gate, and rear bumper. Looked in motor compartment and noticed oil around and on motor. Checked oil - the level was up so guessed they didnt clean up oil from changing valve cover. Called dealer. Explained problem. They wanted me to bring car back. Said I couldnt because of work and never make it by the 6pm time he gave me. I told him what I thought it was he asked to check oil level. Told him I did and level was up. He said ok to drive but keep eye on oil level and to call Monday morning to make arrangements to bring car in. Did as instructed - called on Mon. morn. Was told to try to have car towed. Tried to find tow truck - only one the dealer suggested was 200 and about 3 hours. Called dealer back. Explained to him about tow co. and explained to him that I looked under car and that there was no oil under the motor but there was oil dripping from where they put the new axle in. He told me not to drive the car in but to have it towed in. I asked him who pays the tow bill. He stated I have to. I told him it was where they fixed it why do I have to have it towed in. His statement was until they find out the problem was it was up to me to get it in. The dealer called me on 4/28/15 - stated that the leak was from the axle that for some reason that the axle would not lock in. I asked him then who pays the towing bill, he stated to bring bill in but he doubts they will pay.Third oil leak in motor, they said was valve cover gasket was leaking again (replaced last year for same reason). Also when I dropped the car off the week before that there was a chirping noise in the front of the motor. The dealer claimed it was idler pulley and replace it now. The motor knocks real bad. The dealer said it was my fault for not having oil changed on a regular time frame, I told him that it was changed on a reg basis. He told me that the oil filter was full of sludge. I told him that You show me one motor that at 97000 miles that doesnt have sludge in it.He got pissed off and wouldnt talk until I asked if he was still there on the phone. He told me to bring in receipts for oil changes. I dont have all because there were times I changed oil and filter myself. He told me that I would have to pay to have the motor torn down at my cost at three hours labor and if there is any sludge in motor that I would have to pay them for the repair. Every time I take car to this dealer I always have problems and no other dealer will do the work on the car because of the warranty and the extended warranty. Sorry. Tried to be short and to the point as possible.

Wondering if anyone with a 2012 Hyundai Sonata has noticed a ring around the sunroof on the inside lining? I am afraid it is mold. Dealer said mold wont grow on the liner. Anyone else experiencing this? I have the car in the shop right now awaiting a pressure test that I am being charged for to find if there is a leak. If there is a leak... guess what? On May 17, 2012, I purchased two Hyundai cars - a 2012 Sonata and a 2012 Accent. When I tried to register as the owner on their website, I got the message: Email address already entered. I tried to reset my password approximately 15 times and when I would try to log on using the password they sent, I would get the message: Incorrect email or password. I talked to Hyundai representatives many times with no success. I found out the dealer where I purchased the cars had entered my email address wrong and only they could change it. I also found out they had entered a PIN and a security question which I knew nothing about. Now, after about fifteen phone calls, they refuse to talk to me.They say it is my computer but I have tried on three different computers and have run Microsoft diagnostics on my computer without any problems. I can log onto their financial website without problems as well as all other secure sites. At this point, they will not answer my emails or phone calls. I cannot log on to blue link, and I cannot register as owner of the Accent. They claim that they can log on using my email and the reset password. I dont believe they are being truthful.

Since owning my 2013 Hyundai Sonata, I have had a number of recalls (or as the company likes to call them, ‘campaigns’). The most recent includes FOUR recalls. I took time off of work to get the recalls addressed, and yet, I still keep receiving notices that I need to take the car back in for the same recalls that I got taken care of. When you call customer service all you get is the run around or told that you are being “hostile” when they question you about where the emails are coming from and you tell them you have full command of the English language or “talking over them”. I still can’t use my phone’s bluetooth as the company never updated their system with the newer phones. My navigation system doesn’t know half of the addresses I put in, and the car only has 44,000 miles in 6 years. In addition, I constantly have to put air in my right front tire, regardless of the weather. Now I have to go back because the dealer disengaged the heated seats so I can’t even trade it in until they fix their mistake, and that was after the dealer tried telling me that the recalls had nothing to do with the heated seats (which they then had to reverse course on as the tech had to disconnect the heated seat wires to put the airbag harness on). Hyundai claims in their ads that they make ‘better’ cars. Better for who? Because it DEFINITELY isn’t better or safer for the consumer. I feel that is a misrepresentation of the truth. Save yourself and your wallet! Don’t even look bother. There are other more reputable companies from which to choose from. Honestly, I think the federal government needs to look into the safety of Hyundai’s vehicles.

The 2012 Sonata is NOT a safe car as advertised. This fire happened without any real warning other than a small knocking sound for only a few minutes before bursting into flames. This car was up to date on service and oil changes and only had 25,000 miles on it. It was brand new when I bought it. Almost died seeing as though no check engine light came on and temp gauge was normal the entire time. Even when on fire.

I purchased a 2007 Hyundai Veracruz in May 2012. In November 2012 the alternator failed. I replaced the alternator at a local garage for the sum of $489. In August 2014 I received a notice from Hyundai about a recall because the value cover was leaking oil into the alternator causing it to fail. The notice indicated that if I had previously paid for repairs the next instruction would provide instructions for reimbursement. I called the claim telephone number and they gave me a claim number and instructed me to get the vehicle checked at a dealership and then send the documentation to them. I told the dealership that I had replaced the alternator. After the repair they said the current alternator had oil in it so it had to be replaced as well. I sent all the documents to Hyundai and the reply was that.... there was no proof the first alternator was damaged by the oil leak... the recall wasnt to replace alternators and the warranty on the vehicle had expired In May 2012. This is really a slimy reply as it was their engineers (maybe US govt?) that determined there was a design problem. They have denied a legitimate claim because they found some wiggle room. This is not the mark of a company where one should buy their products. Im going to badmouth them every chance I get. If I can convince one or two people over the next several years not to buy their product they will have lost more than I had requested for reimbursement.

I purchased a Hyundai Genesis Coupe from Parkway Hyundai (Wilmington) in 2014. I was informed by the salesmen that offered me the extended warranty that I would receive coverage for 100,000 miles. Not up to 100,00 miles, but good for 100,000 miles. Huge difference, as the car had nearly 50k miles on it already when it was purchased. I made it very clear to the salesman that I needed coverage for 100k miles. I would have purchased a brand new car, not a used Hyundai with only 50k mile warranty if this had been explained to me correctly, and now the dealership is leaving me out to dry with a car that is not drivable, a higher car payment than what I would have had with a brand new car, (because the warranty is factored into it), and they are feeding me a load of BS.I do not recommend ANYONE, even my worst enemy to purchase from Parkway Hyundai, and also the salesman by the name of Mitchell was very distant to me after I purchased the car. I would drive all the way to Wilmington from out of town and stop by to get an oil change and he would give me blank stares and would not even greet me. What kind of customer service is that? To be nice to me long enough to sell me a car and then treat me like chopped liver after the deal is done. I let that slide because he is a younger guy, I am probably the first he ever sold a car to and he is probably long gone now if he treated someone else the same way, but yeah, I am done with Parkway Hyundai for good either way. They can forget me or anyone I know ever purchasing a vehicle from them ever again.

I bought a brand new 2006 Hyundai Sonata. Regular oil changes were done. I had to take the car to the dealer early on because the ESC light kept coming on. They had to replace it due to a recall. Late last year, I had to take the car to the dealer again because the lights all kept dying at the same time. I read somewhere that it was a bad switch somewhere.About 3 months ago, I took my car back to the dealership because it was lurching at around 45 mph. They looked at the transmission and told me everything was fine, it checked out. Then about a month ago, I took it back to the dealer because the lights all burned out at the same time again. They checked it and said it was just the light bulbs. So they replaced all the lights in the rear for 45 dollars, gave me a printout of my visit and said they checked the fluids, etc. and everything looked good.Last Saturday, I was heading out to get the oil changed. The check engine light came on and there was a slight knocking noise. After the oil change, I took it directly to the dealership. I got a call from Adam on Wednesday telling me that they were going to have to take the motor apart to check it out. He said he needed my permission to do so but also asked if I had all my maintenance records. He said that if they get in to the engine and see that theres gunk in the motor, thats a sign of poor maintenance and it wouldnt be covered by the warranty.I told him I had the majority of my records. He said the tear down of the engine would cost $360 and I would be responsible for that fee if they find that this problem wasnt covered by the warranty. I gave him the approval to tear down the engine, sure that they would find the problem to be from something covered under warranty. He just called me this morning and left a voicemail that the problem is maintenance related. I should call Valvoline or my insurance company because the problem is not covered under warranty and a new engine is going to cost me $4,500. He said the engine was starved for oil.I think they are trying whatever they can to get out of honoring the 10-year/100,000 mile warranty.

I purchased a 2020 Sonata Ltd 1.6 Turbo in March 2020. Since day one the engine has had a burning smell and I’m wondering how many other Sonata owners are dealing with this. I’ve taken the car in 5 times. They’ve done pressure checks for leaks, reached out to other Hyundai service centers and gone over the car with a fine tooth comb without finding the problem. I reached out to Hyundai Consumer Affairs who basically told me to live with it. So I’m asking, if there are any other 2020 Sonata owners with this problem, don’t let the service center tell you the smell will go away because it won’t. Call their Consumer Affairs at 1-800-633-5151 and lodge a complaint. I paid almost $40k for a car that I can’t even park in my garage because the smell is so bad and Hyundai wont address my problem. Also, if you’re thinking of buying a Sonata be sure to turn it on, raise the hood and put your nose down near the radiator. If you smell that burning coolant, WALK AWAY!! So so disappointed in Hyundai.

We purchased a Hyundai Elantra in 2009 hoping to get at least 100,000 miles value, but to my disappointment the transmission went after 75,000 miles thankfully was still under warranty. 10,000 miles later the motor in the power steering has gone, which when we went to dealer they informed us the 10yr/100,000 mile warranty does not cover this only transmission & engine, so their bumper to bumper warranty is false. Our personal mechanic has informed us that this is happening frequently. Why has there been no safety re-call? Does some tragedy have to occur before this is a safety recall?

Key fob falls off a lot. Unlike other fobs the key does not fold out, it is an L-shaped key that slides right out of the fob when pressure is put on the small button which protrudes from the fob approximately 1/16 of an inch and releases the key. All other buttons are recessed. It has fallen off in my purse, in my pocket, on the floor of my car, while opening the door of my car, under my desk, off my keys as I picked them up off the seat, and I have even found it on the floor under my key hanger by the door. My husbands has fallen off in his backpack while setting the keys on his desk, in his pocket, and while opening the door.

My 2007 Hyundai Entourage at 49,798 miles had to have its pulley replaced at my expense. Obviously the part was defective. The dealer said there was no implied warranty, so I had to pay $279.57 for the labor and part. I never had a pulley replaced on any car I owned. One van had over 250,000 miles on it, and the pulley on it was still good.

I had never bought anything but a Chevrolet or a Ford and I always had a full size car. The Hyundai was the first foreign car and the first small car that I have purchased. I love the way it drives and the MPG. But I did have a problem with the seat belts that the dealership refused to acknowledge and fix and the tires that came with the car were not good. It also did not come with a spare. I will never buy a car without a spare again.

Bought a new 2021 Palisade to replace a 2020 Kia Soul that was a lemon, 3 transmissions after 12,000 miles. Palisade lasted 2 days, 180 miles before fuel system failed. Dealership cant get any parts from Hyundai. Hyundai is supposed to be buying the car back from us. The problem is, it is next to impossible to get any communication from Hyundai. I sent all the required documents on 2/18/2021. Was supposed to send offer immediately. Now March 1st and have heard absolutely nothing. I call and email everyday, just to see if they even received the paperwork I sent over. No one has any answers and the person handling my case never responds. Dealing with Kia was a much easier process with great communication. Yes their transmission was trash but customer service was exceptional.

My name is Daniel **. I am regretting the choice of buying a vehicle from Hyundai, who claims that they are there to help service the people and help me in general. Unfortunately, Hyundai is providing false information to there clientele. I recently just purchased my 2011 Hyundai Accent. The first week after having bought the car, I had issues. For instance, on the drivers door, there was a light scratch. The tail lights had water leaking inside, creating humidity. And the ignition circle was not firmly adjusted. The servicemen at my Hyundai dealership did fix the scratch without any issue. But they gave me problems towards the tail lights and the ignition key input to start the vehicle. After 6 months of owning the $ 23000 car, which is covered under the Hyundai warranty, I am extremely unsatisfied. Two weeks ago, I brought the Accent to the dealer due to a steering issue i had. They told me the front rim was dented and it was $ 155 to repair it. So, I agreed to this, seeing as it could have been possible as we have terrible roads over here. The following day, the car was making a whistling sound coming from the front tire that they worked on. The day after, I went back and it took them 1 hour an a half to figure out the problem. They charged me $90 without notice or knowledge that I had to pay for them to recheck the car (normally any garage or mechanic will call you first or consult with the client before putting a price to anything). The following week, I noticed a very loud rattling noise while starting the ignition. So as furious as I was, I called the dealership and asked them if they had room to see me. They advised me not till next week. So, I decided to bring the car to another dealer, because it is extremely inconvenient having a brand new car making this noise and causing me so much issues. The service at the new dealership was very kind. I asked if they can take a look at the lights and the rattling sound. They checked it. And then, they called me back a few hours after, saying the tail lights were not screwed in tight, and the metal shield beneath the vehicle wasnt intact enough. They fixed everything and charged me once more $70 without notice! Logically speaking, why would this not be a defect and not under warranty?!I am extremely frustrated. I never loosened anything on my vehicle. This is an issue that came from the manufacturer. This is a product complaint! What I want from you right now is what Hyundai promised me, which is if anything doesnt sound right with the car, you will come in and will examine it for free. Thats why you have a warranty! Where is the promise in that? Does Hyundai just talk strictly out of nowhere just to sell a car and make a couple of bucks commission? I refuse to pay for issues that were caused by bad mechanics from Hyundais part.

New I10 Not Working: This is to inform you that I had purchased a new Hyundai i10 Asta on 11th April 2012. The vehicle was registered under registration no. **, and the same was delivered to me at 7pm on 11th April 2012. After taking possession of the car, I left for my residence at Naigaon. As I was closing towards Naigaon, my vehicle stopped working after a run of just 68 kms and was completely dead. I parked the vehicle and next day, I called up their call center and complained for the same. I was given a complaint no. (job no. **). Their technician, Mr. **, reached the spot and inspected the vehicle. After nearly working for two hours on the vehicle, he reported that the vehicle cannot be repaired as it would not start; hence, it had to be towed to their Thane workshop. He called certain concerned people, asked for a tow van and gave a report form giving details as vehicle not starting, alternator problem, taken by towing. From there onwards, my turmoil to get my vehicle repaired started. I called up the showroom from where I had purchased my vehicle and spoke to their sales manager, Mr. **, tel no. **, who promptly shifted his responsibilities to Mr. **, tel no. **, stating he is the technical in charge and will be able to help me out. On contacting him for two days, I got only one reply from him that we are trying to locate the fault. On pressing him to give me a proper status of my vehicle, he abruptly said that he was not concerned about it and was just trying to help me out and I should be contacting their technical in charge of Thane workshop, Mr. **, mobile no. **, as the vehicle was in their possession. After explaining to Mr. ** the entire case, he to promised to come back and report the same. As I did not get any response from him in the next 24 hours, I called him back on which he told me his assistant, Mr. **, will keep me updated of the status. I waited for another 24 hours waiting desperately for his call. I called Mr. ** and informed him that I have not received any call from Mr. **, on which he was very courteous of giving me his mobile no. ** (Mr. **). He called me up in the next 10 minutes and Mr. ** was the first person to update me that the vehicle had some alternator problem which they will replace and the vehicle should be ready by 16th April evening. After calling him again in the evening for my vehicles delivery, he told me that there were still some problems with the new alternator as the current was fluctuating and the vehicle needs further inspection for a day. I asked him if I could speak to someone senior but he could not provide me with any. In my desperation, I went to the Hyundai site address and got the number of M/S **, assistant manager, western division regional office, tel no. 022 40969000. On speaking to her, I thought I am coming close to solving my problem who promised me that she will look in to the matter and come back within an hour. After contacting her after an hour, she told me that I will see that my regional manager will personally look in to my case and by tomorrow, she will be coming to some solution. On 17th April, I tried to call M/S ** but I couldnt go through her tel. no. But I got a call from Mr. ** stating that the alternator replaced was also defective and they were waiting for a new alternator to arrive. This probably was the peak of any company being so irresponsible and hence, I once again called and told M/S ** that I do not wish to take a repaired vehicle, where their best technicians as claimed could not locate the problem in nearly six days for a brand new vehicle which was used for only three hours and approximately 70 kms. After purchasing a brand new vehicle and it stopping within three hours of delivery and me desperately calling nearly 125 times to their six top company representatives in the last six days and going in to hardship like getting stranded in the middle of the night and using a car on rental for the last seven days, my problem has no solution as I was forwarded to one more executive Mr. ** (**) by M/S ** as she had to go to Pune and could not attend to my problem. Last but not the least, Mr. ** has once again promised to look in to the matter fairly. As a customer, I dont deserve to suffer like this whereby I will be forced to address my complaint to the Consumer Forum as no solutions are seen.

We were prepared to pay cash for the car on 12/31/11, but we were told that we would get $500 more off the car if we financed and then we could pay it off. So before we received the coupon book, we sent in an estimated amount for the purchase price plus estimated interest. The next month we received a bill for $11.23 for the difference of additional finance charges which we paid. For the past week, the autodial collection people have called us at least 15 times (over 5 times on 3/26), looking for the monthly payment of $839. Finally, my husband was on hold for over 20 minutes waiting to speak to a supervisor who said our account was paid in full. We have continued to get calls since then for the same thing. On 3/37, we got 2 more calls. I am not that happy with the car to begin with. The gas mileage is way under what was represented. After the experience with the finance people, I will never buy another Hyundai. Also, the phone representatives were rude and the auto-dialer put us on hold several times after we answered the phone. What kind of customer service is that?

My Hyundai Accent is less than two years old and has traveled only 14,000 kms. At my last service in May I advised the service center that a hole has appeared in my drivers side floor mat. I thought this was unusual due to the low kms and the fact that I mainly drive in bare feet not big boots. A claim was initiated and I was advised that it was denied as it was wear and tear. I could accept this if I had done a lot of kms in the vehicle however only 14,000 kms is not satisfactory. I have over the years owned a number of cars of various brands and travelled in excess of 200,000 kms in most with no similar problems. Is the construction of Hyundais so CHEAP AND NASTY that a carpet will wear out in such a short time. I had intended in keeping the vehicle but now think ILL REPLACE IT WITH ANYTHING OTHER THAN A HYUNDAI.

I have a 2002 Sante Fe. It was a recall because the back end rotted. I did not know about this, so I took it to my mechanic because the vehicle was not driving right. He called me to tell me that the back end was rotted. He called Hyundai to see if it would be covered under a warranty. They said it was a recall, so they would take care of it. I had it towed at my expense. I had asked if I could get vehicle on loan and they said they dont do that. It was not my fault that this happened, so why do I have to pay out of my pocket when it was a defect on Hyundai? It is going to cost me around $300 for a rental. This is bad customer service. Please let me know if this is the policy. I am being put out because of a problem that Hyundai caused. I am very upset about this. What can you do for me. Thanks for your time in this matter. My wife got scammed on a lease at a disgraceful Hyundai dealership in Gurnee, IL (avoid at ALL COSTS). She ending up overpaying by $7,000 on a Kona for no reason. The Kona which she was going to buy outright until they convinced her to lease, should have been $24,445. Its on Hyundais website. She ended up paying over $32,000 before tax on the lease. We complained to Hyundai customer service, but were told that there was nothing they would do to help. As such, we will never be buying a Hyundai again and will be recommending to our friends and family the they avoid them also. Although its not Hyundais fault that my wife got scammed, if they are allowing scammers to sell their product then they are culpable. It is a shame because we previously had a Hyundai and had been happy with it. If they are unwilling to help their customers however then we are unwilling to be their customers.

I leased my new 2020 Hyundai Tucson on June 30, 2020. Only a month later on August 1, 2020 the oil pump light appeared on board. Advised by the Blue Link representative I contacted from the car, I took the car to be serviced at the nearest dealership (different from the one I leased the car from). Once there, I was told they dont have a replacement car for me to drive while the car is in their shop and that the oil pump they ordered should arrive in a few days, and I am still waiting for it! I am an essential worker who needs a car to get to and from work! I called Hyundai customer service, I was assigned a case manager who had no clue what to do, what part I needed for my car or how to find out when it will be shipped. He recommended I rent a car while Im waiting for mine to be fixed (which could take weeks...) and said I will be reimbursed $30/day if I rent a Hyundai or $20 for a different car. I live in New York City, those are not the rental prices I can find here. Meanwhile, I am still paying for my lease and cannot use the brand new car! This is the second Tucson I have, but after this experience I will definitely switch car companies!

We bought a 2011 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid. I only get 34 MPG on the HWY. The mileage reimbursement is nothing short of insulting. I was blatantly lied to by my salesman when I purchased my car. I was very much bothered that the hybrid does not have a spare tire, so much that I considered walking away! But my salesman said, If you get a flat, we will bring you a tire and YOU GET FREE TIRES FOR FIVE YEARS. I replied, Is there a mileage limit on getting the new tires? Salesman: No mileage restrictions, free tires for five years. ABSOLUTE LIE!! I called the service department recently and the woman practically laughed at me! And last, I called the previous Mercedes Benz dealership that I bought a car from in 2002 (WHERE TRUE CUSTOMER SERVICE LIVES). Turns out the 100,000/10-yr warranty that we paid $1,995 for, cant be transferred which dramatically reduces the resale value!! Not only did the company lie about the MPG but the dealership lied as well!! I will never buy another one!

I took my 2011 Hyundai Sonata into the Hyundai dealer service center with a problem on my auxiliary plug. I used a 3.5 mm auxiliary cable to connect my iPod to the car. After a couple of months, the cable had bad connection. Due to that problem, I bought a new auxiliary cable but the cable wasnt the problem. The problem was the 3.5 mm jack that is on the car. I brought my car to the dealer but they said they couldnt do anything since I didnt use OEM Hyundai auxiliary cable even though they knew the problem. So I bought the OEM cable, but after few months it didnt work well. So I brought my car to the dealer and one of the staff brought three other staffs to check if the jack or the cable was defected; they all said there was no problem. The battery in my leased 2015 Hyundai Sonata wont hold its charge. Purchased in October of 2015 about 8000 miles and about six months into the lease the vehicle failed to start repeatedly. This went on through September of 2016 with the vehicle having to be towed to the Dealerships shop approximately every few weeks to every two months... I grew increasingly frustrated and angry about the Dealerships inability to identify the problem. Eventually I filed a lemon lawsuit against Hyundai Motors and a small settlement was paid in December of 2016. The vehicle had just come out of the shop 9/26/16 (11 days) before! I breathed a sigh of relief when for over six weeks the vehicle continued to start (it appeared that the problem had actually been resolved). THEN on the morning of 1/17 of this year when I got in the car to drive to work it failed to start... it was in the shop through 1/30... again on 3/18 and has been in the shop since then while the Dealership continues to labor over the origin of the malfunction (which even Hyundai engineers have not been able to figure out). I am grateful that the Dealership has worked diligently to make sure that at least I am given a renter or loaner vehicle. I am no longer going back and forth having the car towed to the Dealership shop. I insisted that I be allowed keep the loaner until Hyundai Motors buys the car back from me. Fortunately, the Service Manager has been very sympathetic to my circumstance and hardship and has agreed to allow me to drive their loaner (a 2017 Sonata). Unfortunately, I have not had the same experience with the Manufacturer Hyundai. Eight days after my initial contact with them (3/20) I am told that I must communicate with their legal division through an attorney... I am just livid!!! The Consumer Affairs Division of Hyundai Motors fails to provide accurate and timely important information, fails to return call as promised, and is extremely negligent in the instance of documenting the details of the Ticket the department creates. NOW... I am forced to communicate with an attorney for a second time. In the meantime the monthly payments for the lease of this vehicle are still due...BUT I AM NOT DRIVING IT BECAUSE IT IS IN THE REPAIR SHOP!!! I will update this file as my situation continues to unfold.

Hyundai is the most morally corrupt of all car manufacturers. In my experience, our 2002 Elantra had multiple catastrophic failures under warranty. This could have resulted to injury or death, since the failures occurred while the car was in traffic. The first three occurrences were due to defective fuel injection. After three attempts by a completely inept dealer (Antwerpen of Clarksville, MD), it was finally fixed. The most recent was the breaking off yet again in traffic of a highly corroded front control arm, leaving left front tire separated from the axle and the car out of control. There was a recall issued in 2009 (ID# 09v125000) for this very problem. Antwerpen claimed to have done the recall work on my car when I took it in to them for service in February 2010 but the failure occurred despite this. They tell me now that all they are obligated to do is to repair the vehicle. I feel this car will never be safe to drive and I have asked them to give me a fair financial offer for buying back this defective car at its present value. This has been rejected.

GC 2013 3.8 Track (Love Car cant say the same for Company) - On Saturday, April 16th, 2016 I went to Balise Hyundai to have my vehicle serviced and to address my concerns about the paint peeling on the front bumper near the hood of the car. I showed the peeling paint to the service advisor Phil ** who took pictures of my front bumper and stated that he would pass them along to the person who handles warranty claims. Phil explained that I would need to come back to Balise Hyundai during the week to have my concerns addressed. It is important to note taking time off during the week was not feasible during that time due to the structure of my current role and the responsibilities it entails. On Wednesday May 11th, 2016 I brought my vehicle to Balise Hyundai and showed the bumper to Bob ** (Service Director) who immediately began to tell me that my warranty didnt cover the damage and that it appeared as if the bumper was painted over or that something had spilled on it and therefore was not Hyundais responsibility to cover. Bob proceeded to take pictures while he instructed his co-worker Stephanie to gather some info on my vehicle. After a few minutes of both Bob and Stephanie examining my vehicle, I asked Stephanie to update me on what was being discussed. She stated that I was not under warranty for paint as my car was three years old. I told her that while my car was a 2013, I did not begin my lease until September of 2013. She then asked me about the mileage which I told her was less than 36,000 miles. Another 5 to 10 minutes of conversation with Bob yielded a plethora of biased assumptions that I found to be quite concerning. Bob ** insinuated I caused the damage to my vehicle. I left Balise Hyundai and then called Hyundai Motor America to report my warranty claim and ask questions. At that point, the integrity of Bob ** was in question and I was concerned that Bob would intentionally fail to submit the warranty claim and tell me it was not covered or submit the claim filled with biased narrative and minimal facts. I spoke with a Genesis representative named Christina (case #**) and she explained to me that she would look into it and contact Balise Hyundai to follow-up. Christina said she would call me back that day to update me however I never received a call. Later that day I was set to travel out of the country for two weeks. On Thursday, May 26th, 2016 I contacted Hyundai Motor America to follow up regarding my warranty claim. I explained that I had not heard from Bob or Stephanie about next steps. On Friday, May 27th, 2016 I received a call from Stephanie who left a voicemail stating that Hyundai wanted me to take my vehicle to the Balise repair shop to get an estimate of the damage. Upon hearing the message left by Stephanie I called her back and was unable to speak to her directly. I left a detailed voicemail inquiring about the arrangement of a specific date/time to bring the car for an estimate. Stephanie never responded to my message. On Saturday, June 4th, 2016 I brought the vehicle to Balise to get the estimate and was told that the repair shop is only open during the week. I spoke with General Manager Brian ** who told me to email him pictures of the paint concerns and that he would get an estimate for me on Monday and send me the quote. (See attached photos) On Tuesday, June 7th, 2016 Brian emailed me stating that a rep is coming today and will see if he approves the work. Estimate is $1,300. On Wednesday, June 8th, 2016 I emailed Brian back and ask him if the rep would be calling me directly to let me know the decision concerning my car. Brian emailed me back informing me that it was decided that my hood would not be covered but that the decision to repaint the bumper hadnt been made yet. On Friday, June 10th, 2016 I emailed Brian to find out how long it would be to determine if my bumper was going to be covered under warranty. He replied back confirming it would be 7 to 10 business days. On Tuesday, June 21st, 2016 I emailed Brian seeking an update on the pending situation. I received no reply. On Wednesday, June 29th, 2016 I receive a voicemail from Bob ** stating that he wanted me to return his call because Consumer Affairs wanted a factory rep to look at my vehicle. He also stated the rep would be at Balise on Thursday (the very next day). I called Bob back to arrange the time for the factory rep to see my vehicle. I explained to Bob that I worked and that he was giving me very short notice. I asked if I could schedule something for Friday or the week after and Bob told me that the Factory rep only comes once a month and that if I didnt come tomorrow (Thursday) it would be next month before another meeting could be arranged. On Thursday, June 30th, 2016 I arrived at Balise at approximately 7:30 am which was the agreed time slot. This time was chosen as it was early enough for business to be handled and ensured Id make it to work on time. The factory rep showed up after 7:30 am and while I sat in the waiting area Bob failed to inform me that the factory rep arrived. At around 7:50 am I went to find Bob to inquire about the factory rep. That is when I was informed that Loi **, Eastern Region District Parts & Service Manager was already looking at my car. When I approached Loi he informed me that he was checking to see if there was any report of an accident concerning my car. After a few minutes, Loi approached me and told me that the bumper damage was going to be covered but not the chipped paint on the hood of the car. I was then instructed to go to the Balise repair shop and schedule a date to have my car brought in for repair. I followed those instructions and spoke with the Collision Repair Manager, Tim **. We agreed to have the bumper painted on July 11th, 2016 and he told me that it would take two days.On Monday, July 11th, 2016 I brought my car to Balise repair. To my surprise, I then had to rent a car from Enterprise because Balise Hyundai stated that they didnt have any loaners. They also informed me that even if they did have loaners, it would cost me. Over the course of two days, it cost me $60 to rent the car from Enterprise. On July 13th, 2016 I returned to Balise to pick up my car but was told that it was not ready. I was then left to rent a vehicle for another day. For my inconvenience, Jim ** who works for Balise Collision Repair agreed to cover the rental cost for that day.On July 14th, 2016 I returned to Balise to pick-up my car and was astonished by what I saw. I spoke with Balise Collision Repair Appraiser, Jesse ** about the fact that the color of the bumper that was painted did not match the color of the rest of the vehicle! During my conversation with Jesse, he informed me that prior to beginning the paint job he called over to Bob ** and asked about blending the paint into the hood and the fender to prevent the noticeable color difference. He was told by Bob to only paint the bumper. Jesse explained to me that the color difference was typical with the type of paint on my car and that during most repairs to assure that the color matches the other parts of the car they blend into the other areas. (See attached photos)I havent yet heard about whether or not I will be reimbursed or receive credit towards my monthly payment. When I followed-up with Hyundai Motor Finance about my situation was I essential told sorry for your troubles. You still must pay your monthly bill and if we dont receive payment we will repo your car. It will be auctioned and all accrued expenses will be your responsibility. Moral of this story: Dont buy Hyundai as their Customer Service is horrible and they dont care about loyal customers.

I was driving down the road in North Carolina when I heard a loud bang. The moon roof of my 2011 Sonata shattered. Glass completely went out in one piece. The dealer tried to say that the roof was hit by an object. Im waiting for Hyundai to do the right thing. The car is still under warranty. I hope that I dont have to ride around a long time with sun roof broken and raining in my car. I have no garage.

This is how they rope you in to buying their crummy cars “We have American’s best Warranty.” Don’t ever expect to use it though when you need it. They’ll do everything in their power to get out of having to pay to fix your car when something goes wrong. In my case, my whole electrical system fried within less than two years of having the car. Thinking I had “American’s Best Warranty” I thought, no big deal I’ll bring it in and they’ll fix it. Well, no, they tried to claim an animal chewed through my wires so it wasn’t covered by the warranty and I had to go through my insurance to have it fixed. Mind you, this is before I found out there was a class action lawsuit filed against this company for cars with unexpected engine and electrical failures and them failing to make repairs and weaseling their way out of them. They kept my car for 10 weeks trying to fix the issue and every time they fix one issue they would call back and say “oh turns out this is also wrong with your car because of the animal, you have to go through your insurance and put in another supplemental claim.” After 8,000 paid by my initial insurance claim and two supplemental claims of a 1000 a piece and a 500 deductible from me, they gave me back my car that still doesn’t work and still having electrical problems. Their response, we’ll diagnose the problem for 300 dollars to figure out what’s wrong with it now and now they want me to put in another supplemental claim due to another wire that was frayed due to “animal damage.” I can’t even trade the car in because no other dealer wants it due to all the problems and I still have 12,000 left to pay and a car that doesn’t function right.

I had my inner CV boots replaced which were under warranty. After Hyundais service department fixed the inner CV boots, my car broke down about 2.5 weeks later (it seemed like a transmission problem). I had to have the car towed. They claimed they fixed something, without giving me any detailed information and it broke down again 1 week later (I had the same exact feeling of the transmission when it broke down, where I had to have it towed again - this is very frustrating and is extremely dangerous! The service manager informed me that the axle was broken on the first time it was in and it was fixed. The second time around I received numerous answers on what was wrong. They have claimed to fix the accelerator now, but there are several new problems. I did not have one issue with my car before taking it in to Hyundai for service. Now, we cannot figure what is wrong exactly because the computer seems to be malfunctioning. I have had the spark plugs and wires replaced.

I purchased a 2015 Hyundai Elantra on November 26th, 2014. The car was brand new when I purchased it. On December 23rd I noticed that my break lights would not turn off after having parked and removed the key. I was unable to get the light to turn off, but I had a trip scheduled to visit family during the holidays. I was forced to leave the car at my house in its present state. When I reached my destination on December 24th I called Hyundai (Lithia Springs) to tell them about the issues and to ask them how they wanted to handle this issue. The service representative told me to bring the car in on January 3rd. When I returned to Georgia I brought the car to Hyundai. While driving the vehicle I could smell a strong odor reminiscent of spoiled milk. When I arrived at the dealership they examined the car and initially told me that the issue was with the break clutch not depressing properly. After the technician replaced this part he returned to tell me that he was unable to correct the issue and that he suspected it to be an electrical issue. He requested that I leave the car with him so that it could be worked on and placed me in a loaner vehicle.I received a call today (January 6th, 2015) and was told that the issue had been isolated and that the car was not sealed properly and water had caused the electrical issues I was having. Mr. ** told me that the car would need to have the windshield removed, carpet removed, dried, and resealed. I expressed my concern with this and let him know that I wanted the car replaced immediately, to which he did not reply. I called back to speak with the manager Mr. **. He told me that Hyundai manufacturing would most likely not replace my brand new vehicle and that all he could do was try to fix the issues. I am truly unhappy and want my money back or a brand new car. I havent even driven this car 1,000 miles and not only am I without a car, but I am still being forced to pay for a car that was garbage when I bought it. Hyundai needs to give me my money back or replace my vehicle!

Many issues from engine failure (they did replace the engine) to warped brake rotors (will not honor warranty to bad struts and noisy front suspension). Called Hyundai and their field reps are useless and Hyundai just does not care about individual customers - what they are concerned with is the perception that they have the best warranty and care about their customers - not the actual act of doing so. I have owned many brands of my 50 years, but never experienced anything like this.

Mon, 10-14-19 hybrid system failure. Roadside assistance arranged for vehicle hauled to nearest dealership...one where we purchased it 11 mo prior in Montgomery AL, the dealership is 45 min drive from our house...Hard to reach ppl via ph for info re our car--during one call, informed us only 2 certified hybrid techs, both unfortunately had fam emergencies this week, had to leave early-- one day told us the electric water pump being replaced, another day told didnt need one. On Fri 10-11-19 the service advisor called to say it was ready, that the code for water pump was old, they cleared as per techline instructions then a driver (never found out who drove it the 53 mi since i was told the name would be on receipt but it wasnt...it was not a service tech or advisor, just a driver) Did not feel comfortable picking it up since nothing was fixed & expressed such to the advisor but was assured it was ok. Gut saying this not sound right, called Hyundai customer service and explained situation. Was told the info being sent to a case mgr who would be in touch in a couple of business days. Well, on Mon 10-14-19 the hybrid system failed. This time on a busy highway in morning traffic, thankfully able to make it off road and into business parking lot despite losing power. This time because of the location where it broke down, roadside assistance (who finally answered call after 33 min on hold) ordered it sent it to another dealership, this one in Bham AL. Because the case mgr had not made contact yet, called customer service again and rep confirmed that was right, our car had to go to Bham because according to present location thats nearest dealership, if not we would be responsible for paying. While waiting over an hour for the tow vehicle, called ahead to the dealerships service dept hoping to arrange for a loaner vehicle since this location is pretty far from my home. Customer service said couldnt do it for me, had to wait for case mgr- who was scheduled to call me the next day between 1 and 3pm...how does that help me now? (I did not get loaner while mine was in shop 5 days the week before.) Man at dealership said that they couldnt guarantee would have a car available. Floored to hear that, so next called dealership in Montgomery and explained what going on. After all, I was just there on Friday. They arranged to send someone to drive me down there for a loaner. I am grateful they agreed to give me a car and young woman who came for us was sweet, but I was shocked when she got a call from the service dept telling her to hand her cell phone to the tow driver...he confirmed my suspicion that they told him to take car down there, not Bham as roadside had ordered. I made it clear that I was not able to pay for it to go anywhere else, that 2 different persons from Hyundai said it had to go to Bham. He agreed to do as originally instructed. 2 1/2 hrs after placed call to roadside, car headed to dealership in Bham, we on way to Montgomery for loaner. (Driver was accommodating and stopped at Wendys as we requested to grab lunch.) Sonata hybrid system failed at 9:25 a.m., we finally made it back home at 2pm. Case mgr called Mon at 4:30p.m. She expressed that she was glad vehicle went to current location instead of former. Said she has better working relationship with this one. At this point were hopeful that it was all for the best...boy was that wrong! Tuesday 10-15-19 just past noon the advisor called to say scanned for codes, got same one as previous service dept but here they consulted techline and concluded the low voltage was due to a light being left on in the car, so after driving 18 mi with no issues they felt could be picked up by us. Absolutely floored at that explanation--so different from what we got from other dealership-- expressed felt even more uncomfortable driving off again without any repair done, esp after what happened the last time. It has already experienced the hybrid system failure 3x while were driving down the road at this point. Same code, totally different answers. Was told would check on it again first thing next morning and see how it does. At lunchtime Wed 10-16-19 advisor calls back to say car seems fine but he needs more info, cant find service record from Montgomery in the system. Sounds strange but we are nervous about this dangerous problem and want to get to the root cause. Not want get caught stranded on road again, so we volunteer to send copy of our invoice via email. Advisor calls back just a short time later to say he consulted with advisor in Montgomery AND the case mgr who agree electric water pump needs to be replaced. (Wow, were amazed he was able to get them both on phone in that short amount of time. But then again he works there... As a customer, calling and getting straight thru to someone is very rare. Usually have to leave message and sometimes takes days to get call back.) He says will order new pump, it wont come in until mid afternoon following day and we will need to be worked in to the schedule. So dont expect it to be ready until Mon. at earliest. Wanting to be certain this is the root of the problem, asked if that was what techline had now told him to do in order to fix it or did he just go by what other advisor said? (The first advisor had told us that if car had ended up back there again, they wouldve put one on...so, they were ok letting us drive a car that they mustve known had a good chance of shutting off on us going down the road again, then they would fix it?? So, what was that explanation about it being an old code??) Well, he replied he did not personally talk to techline. Makes us wonder why he would go off the advice from a dealership he had expressed little respect for previously? And why the case mgr would, either, especially seeing that she expressed same feelings toward them?? But he said thats the plan and to make us feel more comfortable that 3 ppl would test drive it before give back to us: him (advisor),a technician and the service mgr, even said one of them could drive it home so could spend more time with the vehicle. Hmm.. Well, later that afternoon the case manager called confirming this dealership will replace elect water pump and said Montgomery service mgr apologized for not doing so. She confirmed the part was being ordered today. She said should not expect car completed until possibly midweek...which we were fine with that time frame, even though longer than advisor had said would take, if it was going to be what needed to fix the problem. Now is where things took a strange turn. Not expecting part in at Bham dealership until Thursday afternoon 10-17-19, ironically got call from Montgomery service dept stating the car is ready. Wait, what???? Totally confused, asked if our vehicle was back in Montgomery?? No, it was not. Next, asked why is someone in Montogomery calling to tell us instead of the staff in Bham?? Well, thats still up in air... as to who contacted whom first or why they needed to in first place...your guess is as good as any. Each accused other and at this point our confidence level in either is gone. It was a very unprofessional event to be caught in the middle of. I called two times trying to reach service manager for Bham, first time got his vm, left message but no reply. After waiting a while, 2nd time called someone else answered the phone when asked operator for him. That individual put the advisor on line. It is very odd that Bham service advisor said Montgomery shouldnt have called me yet because its NOT ready. This despite the fact that Montgomery sent a screenshot, via text message, of an email Bham service mgr sent telling Montgomery the vehicle is ready. Wow, just wow...so I address this with the advisor, who explains that even though the service manager signed off on it, he-the advisor- is not done yet. This is totally confusing, so immediately called case manager, but she not answer, left her a message. Next day, Friday 10- 18-19 after advisor calls stating now car looks to be sound, we express that events of the previous day made us uncomfortable and not ready to get it, want to wait until discuss with case mgr. He says take your time. Wanting to verify what exactly was done , by whom and when, we try to contact case mgr again , but again have to leave message. Trying to call a different # for assistance was no help, was told being transferred and after 8 min on hold was disconnected. Over the weekend we received several emails inviting us to rate our experiences with the dealerships and case manager. So we did give ratings of dealerships, but replied to email about case manager that would rate her when shes finished with our case. (Hoped that would get a call returned sooner...so much for that) Did not hear back from her until Wed a.m. 10-23-19. So disappointed that the info she shared contradicted that from previous conversations. We made request for car to be returned to us, not feel safe driving if cant keep stories straight as to how fixed. Here is what we take issue with. 1) Says the ser mgr in bham called one in Montgomery to find out what was wrong with car, this is off because when he finally called today, Wed 10-23-19, stated that he was not familiar with the vehicle, needed to be clued in. 2) Now being told the pump was ordered on Mon evening 10-14-19, (recall, thats the day before the advisor said we could pick it up because left light on and its fine now). 3) She says service mgr told her car was ready Saturday (remember the fiasco on Thursday the 17th, the email he sent replying the car is ready? Same day tried calling her but no response). So, who are we supposed to believe at this point??? She asks what we want from Hyundai? First time asked that was on first call way back on 14th, told her want car fixed correctly. Not convinced that happened. Techline was referenced several times but weve been told we cant be given any contact info for them so we can verify our car care was handled in most appropriate manner...we want any info techline got from either dealership and what info they related to them. Customer service says we can and should get a second opinion of not happy, but we have to pay for it. Our request is that they return our vehicle back to us, so we can do just that. We asked for it to be towed back, but they refused. We are not confident in the service provided at this point, would hate if mishandled and it ends up shutting down again on the road. Advisor says he confident enough to drive it back to us, but not enough employees avail for one to drive him back to dealership. Ser mgr says needs to think outside the box with our request...it would make other customers jealous if did for us and cant for them.... That was the last weve heard from anyone about it...That was on Wed 10-23-19 when told going to discuss with general mgr of dealership and get back with us... Reached out to general mgr of Montgomery dealership who replied to our online reviews, but he has not return our call either.

Not only is the initial cost of the built in navigation system a rip off, wait until you want to update the maps. Pay $35-$40K for a vehicle and then, in our case, Hyundai dealers wanted $169-$300 for a simple and inexpensive update. They take a few minutes, plug into a computer or have a disc and they have the update and then, with a straight face they want that kind of money. Next vehicle will have free updates or no navigation system. Sure wont be a Hyundai product.

VIN # **. We recently returned a leased 2016 Tucson, the lease was for 3 years. A letter from Hyundai, dated 13 June 2019, stated that we owed over $1100 on this Tucson. The main cause of this costs is apparently a very small, about a 1 inch “star” chip in the left headlight area. To most people the car looked almost new. If this charge stands you have a VERY dissatisfied customer. Before this outlandish charge you had a very satisfied customer.

2014 Hyundai Elantra - Around 74,000 miles my engine started making a ticking noise. It would get quieter as it warmed up. When I took it to the dealership, the mechanic that looked at it said another Elantra engine went bad, this winter took a lot of engines out. We got a lot of bad engines in this winter. Something is wrong with these engines. Then he informed me that I would need a new engine. This was a Hyundai dealership mechanic that stated this. I already knew something was wrong because of the Sonata engine recall and all of the blogs where Elantra engines were going bad between 68 and 75,000 miles. I took better care of this engine than the book called for. But since I was the second owner the warranty had run out at 60,000 miles. When I bought it around 35,000 the engine sounded perfect. And it was a certified car from a car lot. Hyundai says they only warranty certified cars from a Hyundai car lot. Never again will I buy a throwaway car. In my opinion the engine need to be recalled, they know they have an issue. I am currently driving a 2018 Elantra for a week while I get another car. The engine has 2200 miles on it and I can hear the same ticking already, plus it shakes a little coming from the drive train, until it is driven at least 10 miles. The steering tends to get rigid from time to time like I am sliding on some ice.

My experience with Hyundai has been one I wouldnt have expected from a reputable company. I was told I couldnt get any assistance with a car I purchased from them in April 2017. Three months after purchasing the car it was in the shop for a check engine issue. I took the car back to see why it was on when I had just purchased the vehicle. Since then my car has been in the shop a total of 8 times to date. I will continue to expose the misrepresentation Hyundai provides to the public on a daily basis with their commercials and other advertisement. As a consumer we all deserve to have the products we pay for to be operable and in good condition. Nelson a representative of Hyundai informed me I would not have any further resolution if I spoke with a manager because they would only listen to him in regards to my complaint directly. I feel every time someone drives a Hyundai vehicle their lives are in jeopardy due to the negligence on production. My car has been in the shop now for over two months to replace an engine that has been replaced for the second time in a year. I can assure you I will never recommend Hyundai products again to anyone. Do not purchase any Hyundai vehicles no matter what they offer you!!!

I purchased a 2013 Hyundai Sonata March 2015. I had no problems with the car up to a week ago. First my check engine light came on and then a knocking-ticking noise from my engine. I took my car to OReilly and they checked it and informed me it was the camshaft. After then I was driving down the road the noise got louder and then the car stalled. It shut off in the middle of the road. All the lights came on and it STOPPED!My car was towed to a local Hyundai dealership. Spoke to someone this morning and they havent even looked at the car yet. I work 35-40 miles from where I stay and I dont have no other kind of transportation. After further review I found that Hyundai has had a ridiculous amounts of recalls on all of their vehicles even the new ones. I also found out that they recalled over 470,000 Hyundai Sonatas 2011-2012. After reading the reviews of this recall my car is doing the same thing as the 2011-2012 models. I have contacted Hyundai twice and all they are telling me is that my car is not part of that recall. My car is doing the same exact thing. They do not care and it is just ridiculous that there is so many problems. They wont get me a rental or a loaner. I plan to go to everyone news station I can find and report this issue. These cars arent safe or reliable and someone has to speak up and take action!!!

This is with deep disgust that I am writing this letter to Hyundai. My familys loyalty toward Hyundai started in the year 1999 with the first generation Santro. From there, we have possessed Accent which was bought by my brother, two Verna first generation, etc. and finally we have gone for a Fluidic Verna in the year 2011. I possessed a white Verna SX CRDI ABS, which was the top variant in the year 2008. The reason for top model with ABS was due to the utmost safety concerns. But I had 3 instances of accident with my car which was due to ineffective ABS. This complaint I have raised with The Popular Motor World delegates in Cochin, Kottayam, Muvattupuzha centers in Kerala but they could not help me on the same.I had spent thousands of bucks on service after the other but the result was the same. Now, my car has covered 75,000 kilometers and even last week, I was about to meet with an accident owing to the problem of the ABS. Now, delegates in the service department is suggesting me to change the ABS Sensor. Brand loyalty is exercised by a customer due to various factors among which I believe the most important one is service quality and the ownership the company takes to give customer delight. But now when I turned back, I am surprised to find that passenger car market had given me numerous option to choose from but still I was loyal to Hyundai and all due to that decision I am now having a tough time. None of the brands are built in a day and I strongly believe that quality is not an accident but an outcome of conscious and continuous effort. Please help me to come out of this issue. Thank you.

Had a headlight out on 2011 Sonata. A new lamp from an aftermarket dealer did not work. Yet both the old lamp and the new one were tested and shown to be good. (I had a mechanic with me and he verified both lamps were good and could not provide an explanation why good lamps would not work). Took vehicle in to Burdick Hyundai, Onondaga County, NY. I paid for the service and took the bad lamp back to the parts dealer. The parts dealer informed me they did not sell the lamp I was given - the lamps I had purchased were Sylvania. Called the parts manager who said the mechanic must have just given him the wrong bulb. Asked for the old lamp so I could get a refund from a parts dealer. Was told I had not asked for the old parts. Called me back once, did not call back as he stated he would the second time. In the meantime, I put the original old lamp back in the headlight and it worked. Something is wrong with this picture. The lamps would not work when I took it in, it works now, but the lamp I brought in cannot be located to check it. I am concerned they did warranty covered work and charged me for a bulb repair. I expected an explanation and when the parts manager did not call me back, I wrote to Hyundai. The amount is minor, but I do not like how the dealership and now Hyundai handled it. Hyundai Corporates response was not what I had expected. Hyundais Reply Sent at 7:28 PM. Relevant portion of the form letter below:...Please keep in mind while the dealerships are authorized to sell, and maintain our product, we are unable to influence how the dealerships conduct business, reach diagnosis or decide to retain old parts. The best way for you to resolve your concern about the diagnosis and headlamp in question is to bring it to the General Managers attention...In other words I read that as Hyundai is not responsible for the performance of their dealerships so complaining to Hyundai gets you a form letter and no action. Hyundai appears to back the dealership, not the customer. I assumed Hyundai would care as their name is on the vehicle. I was wrong. I suppose my issue is minor, but it appears to represent a corporate attitude that will not help you if you were to have a major complaint about a Hyundai dealership. Caveat emptor!

I have been a customer of Hyundai for over 5 years, I recently had a bad oil leak on my IX20 which I had bought from new. They explained that the repair would be done under warranty and that a courtesy car would be provided. Unfortunately thats where the problems started. Hyundai courtesy car insurance only cover people between the age of 21 to 69 so it was suggested that I add the courtesy car to my insurance but when I contacted my insurance company that told me that they could not insure a car that is already insured. My car will take three days to repair. The suggestion given by my insurance company and the Hyundai dealer is that I hire a car to cover the 3 days. It seems Im being penalised for a Hyundai manufacturing failure.

On June 2020, I purchased a Palisade 2020 at Lougheed Hyundai. The car was purchased new. I quickly discovered that this car is in fact was damaged during the manufacturing process. Or, this may have been the result of damage incurred by workers at Lougheed Hyundai, which was then covered up. After a few days of having the car, I went to an automatic car cleaning service. After completing the wash, I noticed discoloration on the car body near the wheels (near the back passenger door) because its paint peels off. What bothered me with my experience at Lougheed Hyundai is the terrible customer experience and the general manager doesnt care of the customer. He offered me to repaint that part which is included in the warranty or he can replace that part of my car with a another new car!! So it might have been happened for my car before I purchased it. As a new Hyundai customer this is a very disappointed experience which I never had with different manufacture.

Hyundai in Newman, Ga was the worst experience ever buying a car. I was paying cash. Of course they talked me into the tech pkg and took me $2500 over budget. I was told to just finance that amount. Ok, fine, I said because I knew it would be paid off before the first payment was due. Well they didn’t like that and came back and said they couldn’t finance anything under $5000. Ok, still going to have it paid off quickly. Then they came back and said they wouldn’t finance anything under $7500. I had only taken one check with me. It’s a 4 hour drive. I told the guy that and he said to go get another check. I was walking away when my husband decided he was sick of this to find a bank up there and do it. After all this, it turns out the car I ended up with did NOT even have the tech pkg.I have never been so disgusted with a dealership ever! I will NEVER purchase another Hyundai again. Just not worth it. I hate having to see my car. They ruined what should have been an easy sale. By the way, the car was paid off within a month and they made a grand total $41. in finance charges. Stay away from Southtowne Hyundai!

Just received my 10th recall on this piece of junk. And I expect more. I was actually given a phoney long-winded dissertation of the recall by the east coast Hyundai regional representative who called me to placate me after the 9th recall. He said sometimes the robots do get it wrong. Wtf kind of response is that? Hyundai should declare this car a lemon and offer some kind of compensation to us victims of their horrendous quality control issues.

I have a 2008 Hyundai Elantra that is slipping out of the park gear. My car is still under warranty and I took it to the dealership to get it looked at. The dealership put in a request to the main Hyundai office to have this replaced or fixed; they rejected the request and advised me to use the hand brake. I contacted the Hyundai office about this and they were very rude and told me this is normal on any cars. What can I do about this very serious issue?

When headlights are in the auto position, they sometimes do not go off. This has caused the battery to be fully discharged. With the key fob in the car, the doors have locked. This happened at the dealership and car washes, as well as my home when I have tested it. The car has been in the shop for five times, three of those times overnight, and is now at the dealership for twelve days with no results. I have written to Hyundai, the Better Business Bureau and had a lawyer look into it. Hyundai claims they cannot find the problem and will do nothing.

Updated on 02/25/2018: I purchased a use Hyundai Tucson at 22k miles. I owned it 1.5 years and has engine failure at 59k miles. Hyundai refused to do anything and have left me stranded making monthly payments. I have since created a Facebook group dedicated to the Hyundai Tucson Theta-II Engine Failure and have found over 200 people with the same problem and story as I do. I will never purchase another Hyundai.Original Review: Hyundai is a horrible company. I purchased my 2012 Tucson as a second owner. I had the vehicle 1.5 years before the engine failed. Because I was a second owner, Hyundai refused to help. I was 6 months out of the time warranty of 5 years or 60k miles.
