I re-titled my car from VA to IL in late 2019. After receiving my state transfer packet from VW, I called them before I went to the DMV and told them I thought I was missing a document in my packet. They assured me I had everything I needed. When I went to the DMV, they informed me I was missing a document that I told VW I needed earlier in the day. This caused a significant delay in re-titling. I had to pre-pay my taxes on the car for 2019. I submitted paperwork to VW showing that I had retitled the vehicle so I could receive a credit on the taxes I had already paid, and they told me I would have a resolution in 6-8 weeks. It has been almost 3 months and I have still not heard back on my status. Every time I call and talk to a customer service representative, they promise me they will get an answer by the end of the day and will call me back. I have yet to receive a call back. I have absolutely had it. Their agents do not care about making sure I receive the money I am due-I truly wonder if they are just holding on to the funds from the state of VA and not forwarding them on to me. It is ridiculous.

2010 VW CC 70k miles, in 10 months, has gone through 2 water pumps, an intake manifold, fuel pump control module (failed driving down the road, started to overheat and it sits on top of the fuel tank... fire waiting to happen?), coolant line cracked open and leaked, 3 oil leaks, new spark plugs at 40000 miles because one failed, new ignition coils as one started misfiring, windshield washer fluid pump has stopped working, the driver side window now goes down by itself (Ive had to unplug the buttons to keep my window closed), and now Im experiencing random power loss... Total cost so far in 10 months? $6,000!!!Oh and with VW direct injection, my valves were caked in carbon at 50,000 miles. Thats a 1500 dollar fix but my engine was already in pieces to fix everything else. Total absolute junk. Not even useful as a paperweight because it will spill its fluids over your paper. I would reckon the 2.0 tsi is one if the worst engines made. Too bad its not diesel or Id have VW buy my car back and never touch a German product again. I would sue VW but Texas has terrible lemon laws so Im stuck with VW customer service doing something about it or notifying anyone who can fog a mirror to never touch a VW product.

I bought a 2008 Volkswagen EOS in 2008. My car leaks when it rains. I have brought it in to the dealership multiple times. They said they replaced the seals but it is still leaking. My car has been leaking for two years. Every time I bring it in, I have to find another ride to work and back to the dealership.I am concerned about health problems if there is mold growing under the seats. I am also concerned that the leaking water may be causing rusting in spots that I cant see. My door panel has the vinyl peeling off in one spot and they are fixing it tomorrow.I really hate my Volkswagen EOS, that I paid $38,000 for 3 years ago. It has been nothing but trouble and stress. I bought this car thinking it would be a nice vehicle that would last me for many years to come. It is not made of good quality like I would expect from a company such as Volkswagen.

Last night, my husband and I went to Ford to trade in our leased VW CC for a new car. The lease was supposed to be up in May. I was quoted a payoff amount of $15,500 by VW. The deal with Ford was made late at night when VW Credit was already closed. Ford agreed to pay off the lease, and we made the deal with the new car. The purchase with Ford was very easy and smooth.Ford called VW this morning to confirm the payoff amount, and VW added an additional $2000! Apparently, the 6 payments that were supposed to be due until the end of the lease, which was supposed to be in May, were not included in the payoff amount. How can that make sense? Payoff means final amount to completely pay off a car. So we had to pay an additional $2000 because VW Credit gave us the wrong payoff amount. Then they changed their story and said its a termination fee. $2000 termination fee? Are they serious? Never again will we ever return to VW for any future cars. They just lost 2 loyal clients due to their cheapness and carelessness!

I like my diesel Volkswagen Jetta but the biggest problem I have with it is it shakes like crazy when stopping at lights or any other time I stop especially in the summer. Volkswagen has no answer for this and doesnt seem to care. Spent lots of money trying to fix something unfixable. Also radiator fluid sometimes leaks. No reason why. Volkswagen should have done a recall. It seems lots of people have the same problem with this car. I am not happy with the Volkswagen people. Very disappointed as German engineering is usually excellent.

I have had by far the WORST experience with VW. I thought it was only the 1 dealership I went to but I have went to multiple and they are all the same. They will scam you out of every single penny you own. They have terrible customer service, you have to wait hours to get anything fixed. Don’t EVER lease a car with them or you will end up basically paying for the entire car and then having to give it back. They are a scam. They have recalls all the time. I will NEVER EVER EVER buy another VW again.

I had a really bad experience with my Tiguan bought few months ago from a first-hand. My car is 5 years old and only 50000 km. The car was working fine until it completely stopped in the middle of a busy street. Had to tow it via my insurance and I decided to bring it in the VW garage where the car has always been serviced (having all the previous bills). I informed the garage that my car was getting towed and if they could organize a replacement car. The answer was NO straight away. When I looked at all the car bills a replacement car had always been organized but not for me. I then asked them when will they be able to take care of the car and tell me what is the problem. The reply was, “We are extremely busy. We will have a look probably next week.” After checking their online appointment availability it was clearly showing full availability all over the week but they finally started to look at my car one week later! The diagnostic price being $220 which is just absurd when you know that I will have it fix there. Finally the fuel pump was faulty and had to be replaced for $1500 which I succeed to reduce to $1400. I contacted my previous VW dealership overseas that confirm the fact that this part shouldn’t be faulty at 50000 km and VW should cover the cost. I then decided to open a case with VW Australia. I finally took back my car after 10 days and paid the full price thinking that VW will contact me and listen to me. After explaining to the dealership that I opened a case with VW he became extremely upset and unhappy about my decision. I told him that I didn’t blame him but the car and asked him, “If you were me, would you expect this?“ The answer was, “Then if it was me I would just pay and move on!” I clearly understand then that this dealership doesn’t understand the meaning of customer service or empathy. Then I received the answer from my case which was “From time to time Volkswagen Australia will support our dealers in relation to servicing and repairs. This support is not discussed outside of our dealer network. Should the repairs to your vehicle be deemed as a manufacturing failure, the dealership will liaise with us directly on your behalf. Our support is not initiated at customers request. Please speak with the dealership regarding the diagnosis of your vehicle. They will contact us directly if needed. We will now close your inquiry.” At the beginning I was only upset by having this kind of issue with a low km car but after the experience at this dealership the full experience is a disaster. I am convinced that there is a big lack of consideration from VW Australia and especially from this dealership.

All CC models are affected by this tire/alignment issue. Dealers and VW are not forthcoming about the actual problem. There is nothing wrong with the continental tires the vehicle comes with, they are wonderful tires and do not have any record of defects or recalls. The issue is the CC chassis. It is a front heavy car built on a completely different and unique chassis than the regular Passat. They obviously had issues getting the car to track correctly through corners using a standard stance and camber. So they widened the suspension stance and added negative camber in the front to achieve better grip with the heavy front end. (Even with the factory set up you can feel the front end wanting to float off in the opposite direction of the corner at higher speeds.) They did not make the camber adjustable in the front, only the rear is adjustable. This means that you can put any brand tires on, rotate and align as often as you want and you will still ruin your tires every 10,000 miles. So add another $1,000.00 per year for cost of ownership of this car. I am absolutely appalled that VW has made this their dirty little secret and just assume that their customers wont figure this out. Shame on you, VW.

I leased a VW beetle and loved the car itself but slick willie and the car dealership owner talked me into a bad deal. My husband was dying of cancer and I feel like I really wasnt thinking straight so I went back to the dealership and ended up with a 4 door Jetta SE. I felt like I was so taken advantage of, it was ridiculous. I will never ever buy another VW from this dealership again!!! Now, I have a car that costs too much money along with tons of medical bills and husband eventually passed away! So dissatisfied.

The suv is made in Mexico. No new vehicle should cost more than its blue book value of $12,000.00 w/n a 4 yr period. The Napleton Orlando location wants me to spend another $3K to fix their mistake. Volkswagen Credit OVERCHARGED me, its employees LIED to me and now wont remove a wrongly-made derogatory mark on my credit report despite earlier promises that it would. I have a lease through Volkswagen Credit, which was until recently on automatic payment. A few months ago I noticed Volkswagen charged nearly $150 more than my typical payment. Volkswagen never communicated it would charge this additional amount, so this was a complete surprise.I contacted VW credit and did not hear back for several days. So, I disputed the portion that was above and beyond my usual payment with my bank. I again contacted VW in writing and did not hear back. My bank confirmed with me that they tried multiple times to contact VW credit to work things out, which is typical for a dispute case, but were unable to get a hold of anyone and eventually the dispute was authorized by default. The next month I receive a bill stating I was past due in the amount of the typical payment plus the mystery charge. VW credit had still not contacted me about this transaction despite repeated followup. Finally I get someone on the phone who explained what the extra charge was for (a tax on leased vehicles specific to my city, which gets passed on to the consumer once per year; she couldnt tell me why I hadnt received this extra charge in the 2 previous years of leasing the vehicle).I tell her I will go ahead and pay the past due lease amount, since I did not dispute the charge to begin with, and I will read the law regarding taxation on leased vehicles (This is not typical in my state but unbeknownst to me at the time a handful of cities tax leased cars). During this conversation the representative assured me that since I paid the past due amount it would not show up on my credit report, and I have until the lease ends to pay the additional charge for the tax. After researching the surprise tax charge, I pay it within 30 days of the conversation and several months before the lease is set to end. A couple of months pass and I find out that despite paying the past due amount and the additional surprise charge, there is a derogatory mark on my credit report. I send a message to VW credit explaining the situation and letting them know that I was told very specifically that my credit would not be damaged by what happened. They reply, in so many words, that they do not plan to revoke the derogatory mark and they dont care what their employee said. First the diesel scandal and now a confirmation that Volkswagen doesnt care about their customers or doing what they say theyll do. Stay away from this company.

We leased a VW Tiguan in 2018. The lease is coming to an end this October. We called the company early August and indicated that we want to buy off our car. We compiled all the necessary documents and issued a cashier check for the pay off account and send all documents in mid August 2021. We were told we should receive the title in 3 to 4 weeks. We heard nothing so we called on September 8 to follow up they said it is ready they will rush mail it to us to receive by the end of the week.Nothing happened again so we called back September 17 only to be told they are missing Odometer Disclosure which we did submit with the packet in mid August. We sent the Disclosure by secure message after the fax number the customer service person gave me on the phone failed. They said, All clear. You should receive the title end of the week. The week ended we are now the 26 September and 6 weeks after full payment and we have no title. We cannot sell the car, we cannot refinance it and we are at loss for what to do to get our title from this company. I am now considering going to court for injunction. VW is simply a dishonest company and I will never drive any car by this company again.

I bought a brand new 2019 Beetle and noticed it had a bunch of things wrong right off the bat. One of the speaker lights didnt work, the manual seat sinks after a few hours, and the A/C button doesnt work properly. I am 3.5 hours away from a Volkswagen dealership so it takes me 7 hours round trip to service it. I have to do 2 seven hour trips per service because they never fix it in one day. So far I have had to make that round trip 4 times and they still have not fixed the issues other than the speaker light. I dont have time or patience anymore to take many days off for nothing. The product is poorly put together and the service is HORRIBLE, at least at South Motors in Miami, FL.

So I grew up fascinated with Volkswagens. I was obsessed with Herbie the love bug, and knew I always wanted a Beetle. I had a 1972 Standard Bug, I currently have a 1972 Volkswagen Bus and I have a 2013 Volkswagen Beetle Convertible 2.0T. As most people in the Volkswagen Scene, Ive decided to modify my car. I took it to a dealer who specializes in a tune which has excellent ratings. Meanwhile Volkswagen knows that the Timing Chain Tensioner on the 2012-2013 betters were an issue. They denied my warranty coverage saying that the tune did this (which is a lie and failed to prove this with testing). I feel like this is another scam like the diesel issue.

I bought a 2008 Volkswagen GTI less than 30 days ago. I noticed on the 2nd day the A/C and the 3rd gear was grinding. I notified the dealership. They said to bring the car in. On the 11th day of owning the vehicle, the car broke down. I notified the dealership that the car was not able to move and that it will need to be towed. They told me they would not pay for the tow and that if it had anything to do for the clutch, they wouldnt pay for that also. So I called my Roadside Assistance and towed the car to the nearest repair shop. They said there that the problem is in the transmission. The dealership still refuses to pay for the tow to their shop. I was also told by the service clerk that she spoke to the owner and he said that they would tow if it had to do with transmission or engine. But they have not done so. I have called and talked to the bank, and they have contacted the dealer. But still, nothing has happened. I call everyday, trying to talk to the owner or manager. And no phone calls have been returned. Theyre not honoring the warranty.

The engine in the 2013 VW GTI we leased burned up at 25,000 miles. Nine days before this happened, the dealership where we leased it from refused to honor the service agreement and misled us as to whether or not it was due for service. As a result at the BBB arbitration between us and the manufacturer, we were held responsible for 1/2 of the cost of replacing the engine on a 2013 vehicle with only 25,000 miles on it. We have had to sue the dealership for the balance we had to pay due to the breach of the service contract. As a result, we have been paying $260/mo five months, the court date is not for another 3 months and we STILL dont have the car back. VW sucks, the warranty sucks, and the service contract sucks. I sent her copies of my oil changes with the plate number and mileage but they say thats not enough.I need my VIN number which the service station didnt put on. I even sent them copies of my friends oil changes which doesnt have her VIN number on it... Now they have my car for 2 weeks and nothing is being done. Volkswagen is the worst. They make you take extended warranties and the warranty company told me that they can not approve my claim because I am still covered under Volkswagen. This is amazing. On March 16, 2012, my daughter purchased a 2009 VW Tigua from Herman Cook, VW, Inc., 1435 Encinitas Blvd., Encinitas, CA 92024. Since then, the vehicle has had numerous problems, and has cost her thousands of dollars in repairs at VW dealerships in Southern California. She has followed due diligence in having the car serviced, but has continued to have costly repairs. Listed below are the issues.June 27, 2012, only three months after purchasing vehicle, paid $290.95 at Volkswagen Santa Monica (Invoice **) for: front headlamp, engine oil service, balance 4 wheels, brake fluid replace and bleed. August 29, 2012, paid $237.30 at Volkswagen Santa Monica (Invoice **) for: removed and replaced driver side HID light bulb. June 7, 2013 paid $50 (deductible) at McKenna Volkswagen for: right headlight (Invoice **). April 22, 2014, paid $382.65 at McKenna Volkswagen (Invoice (**) for : bulb (N-103-201-02), perform campaign # **. Recall Fuse (Plug-in position F 16), 40,000 mile service (non-turbo). November 21, 2014, paid $241.71 at McKenna Volkswagen (Invoice **) for : 013 campaign/recall 4515 CV burned out turning light bulb N-103-201-02 bulb, and 50,000 mile service.September 5, 2015, paid $3,075.52 at McKenna Volkswagen (Invoice **) for Perform Intake valves De-Carb, 03511 optimizer 2 Pack, flush AC system and replace AC compressor, condenser and expansion valve, recharge AC system, replace wiper blades, replace rear brake pads, replace right brake lights, cornering lights, and bumper marker bulb (3 total bulbs replaced for this invoice). Invoice states EST: 1,069 31AUG15 13:34 SA: 1692). I believe there are major issues with design of engine that caused sludge to build up in engine at low mileage, and also poor AC design that caused compressor to come apart and cause tiny metal particles to infect the entire AC system that resulted in over $1,600 of AC repair.June 3, 2016, paid $2,465.90 at McKenna Volkswagen (Invoice **) for replaced left outside brake light, replace leaking water pump and coolant, perform complete coolant system flush exchange, replaced leaking valve cover, vacuum pump gasket, upper timing cover and CAM sensor seal, replaced front brake pads, replaced 2 tires and balance new tires, front end align, perform oil change and filter.Today, August 13, 2016, as I was preparing this communication, my daughter texted me to say that the cars message system is now telling her that now something is wrong with the parking brake, and that another light needs to be fixed. This never ends, and the car is a lemon that has numerous faulty issues. Therefore, in four years of purchasing this used previously owned vehicle from a Volkswagen dealer, the lemon car has cost an additional $6,744.03. My daughter has been very diligent about taking the car in for routine service, but the additional costs are totally unacceptable and she, as a part-time working single mother with a 3-year old child, cannot continue to afford what I consider design flaw costs for the 2009 Volkswagen Tigua.

I have owned 3 new VWs financed all 3 by VW credit, you never change the paperwork to reflect a paid loan, still 10 years later it says VW credit is a lien holder, not true. Many recalls on my former car that I continue to receive notices on even though I traded it into VW when I purchased my last VW. Just gave my final VW to a junkyard after service from a dealer here in Chicago that took a week to give me my car back and then the problem (coolant leak, replacement of tower) continued to leak and they tried to overcharge me but I had it in writing, very shady people, bad service, dont know anyone that has that kind of time. Just want to buy a car that I enjoy driving and be treated fairly, not too much to ask but VW has failed miserably, no more VWs for me sadly.

I recommend never deal with VW. They have shifty customer service. 2011 Golf GTI with 110,000 miles. Entire intake replaced at 96,000 miles. Known issue with VW. Customer care refused to help. Now, at 110,000 miles, the hydraulic timing chain tensioner slipped causing the need to completely replace the engine for approx. $5,500. VW customer care, again did nothing. Just a heads-up to anyone interested in a Volkswagen group product, these engines are in many vehicles and have major issues.

I have taken my 2008 VW Jetta 2.0T to the dealer 4 or 5 times due to a hard-starting issue when the engine is cold. I spoke with a VW tech and told him what was happening and he said, Yes, that’s a bad fuel pump. I asked if he can please repair it now and he replied, Unless the computer on the car tells us what’s wrong, we cant do anything. A few weeks later, a service advisor called me from David Maus VW and told me that they had another VW Jetta with a 2.0T engine that had the same issues and they replaced the fuel pump and that fixed the problem. I asked why VW won’t replace the fuel pump in my car. He said, If we cant reproduce it, we cant fix it. I still have warranty and VW is giving me issues. To top this all off, VW says the seal around my headlight is bad and is allowing moisture in the headlight. They said that would cost me $589.15 to do that repair for the headlight. I asked why it would cost me anything when the car is still under warranty. His reply, VW doesn’t cover seals under warranty.

Having a look at the reviews, I feel a little bit better as the company is just terrible in general, I thought it was just my luck and I was dealing with wrong service managers but seems like everyone is having the SAME! issue. What a mistake I made trusting Volkswagen, my car has been with them over a week coming to two weeks to diagnose an issue which they did after a week. Repairs were then done, I was then advised it could actually be something else and now another cost is adding, then they said I might even need a new Engine, my oh my.My other frustration is that the service manager who I called after being told they will call when they didnt had no clue of the situation and advised she was handed the case a day ago when the complaint was sent few days ago via web chat. I REGRET using them. I could of taken my car to a local garage who will be cheaper and diagnose the actual issue without trying to rob your money, I WILL NEVER EVER USE YOU AGAIN NOR RECOMMEND YOU TO ANYONE! WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE FACED!

Cant believe the nerve of Volkswagen’s warranty and a slap on the hand. Dealership guys were very respectful and friendly but doing very bad illegal things again. Took my 2011 TDI Jetta under warranty to the dealership for LONG START and ACCELERATION LAG, (fuel issues). Day 2 of having my vehicle, Jason via text message asked for approval to do a fuel filter and air filter change for 185+tax. I asked wasnt FUEL FILTER covered under my warranty. Via text message, was told NO. Called corporate and was set up with an advisor (Kyle) who did not return my call before I was told to come get my car on day 3. Went to the dealership and spoke to a supervisor named Matt **. Asked him to explain what part about ENTIRE FUEL SYSTEM doesnt apply to the fuel filter. His explanation to me, maybe it was worded wrong. I am a certified MASTER tech and I bought this car for the warranty VW was offering. Couldnt believe it. Shouldnt have believed it. I have attached a copy of a page from my warranty booklet which leads us consumers buying these vehicles to believe Volkswagen has our back, not that we are buying and inheriting someone elses problem. I bought the vehicle about 4,000 miles ago and was told it needed done and asked for money for it. Since I did not get the job done, I was charged $143 this morning to get my vehicle back. I asked for a itemized list of what the tech did to diagnose my vehicle since I am paying $135+tax for diag. Was that honored? No, for 3 days my vehicle was with them and my warranty not covered. Advisors say whatever the dealership says because clearly in black and white for anyone to read ENTIRE not excluding filter, would lead you to believe it is covered, especially when the system is under high pressure and you have to prime the system so its really not a DIY for most consumers buying these vehicles. I didnt write the warranty and it should be honored. Not only that, my warranty also states conflicts concerning the warranty, are to be resolved in favor of the consumer. Volkswagen follow the law and honor your warranty and not play word games with the people you are trying to earn the trust back from. Im going to the top with my issue and litigation for selling me a vehicle under false advertising. Not only that, but I also have a warranty under the HPFP recall warranting me anything that touches gas. If I have to fight for my $143 back and my warranty honored, Im going to make sure the courts give their vehicle back to them.

Faulty seat recliner - I have owned a new Gold Cabriolette for nearly a year now. I love it, except for one repetitive and irritating fault - the seat release to swing the seat forward to move so you can access the rear seats is made of a plastic material attached to a metal shaft that releases the seat mechanism. The connection between the plastic handle and the metal shaft is continually breaking. When this occurs, you cannot access the rear seats as the seats will not move. You must return again and again to have VW dealer reattach the handle to shaft. What an absurd mechanism. Why cant they have one metal handle shaft that does not break every time you touch it?

I have two vehicles through Volkswagen Credit. Both were brand new (Jetta and Passat). I loved the dealership and my experience buying my vehicles. My experience with Volkswagen Credit has been unsatisfactory to say the least. They have horrible customer care and have treated me like just another loan and not a person. They caused a huge amount of turmoil through my finances by double charging me on a payment due. They caused an NSF fee on my bank account due to double charging me. It took them 2 weeks to mail a check back to me for the double payment and were unapologetic. While speaking with multiple customer care staff members and mostly the supervisors, they were not helpful in resolving any problems. This is just one account of a few I have had with them. An addition to this, they mailed out my first payment AFTER it was due and was of little help when I called to explain the issues to them. After this new car is paid off, I WILL NEVER go through VW Credit again! They have made my car buying experience uneventful and unpleasant. I highly recommend a trusted bank/credit union. I will never be talked into going through them again.

I would appreciate VW of America to reimburse me for my disbursement because this is not fair and no other makers of cars run through such headache of mechanical failures. My car stopped in the middle of the roads and would not budged, where I could easily get killed. I also maintained all the regular maintenance required by VW. Now I have to lose a day of paid work and over $600 in repairs due to VW faulty parts.

I am by no means an expert mechanic but I have been working on cars for a little over 20 years and I couldnt believe how quickly the sensor went out. The GTI is one of the best all around cars on the market today as far as overall versatility. It may not be the best in any singular category (performance, mpg, comfort, etc.), but it’s cumulatively better than 90-95% of the cars that it competes against. The GTI’s changes over the model years have been subtle with VW finely tuning & refining a proven & successful platform. I’ve owned cars that were more luxurious, had more performance, were much more aesthetically pleasing design-wise...yet, the 5 GTIs that I own/have owned, have never failed to provide me with an exhilarating drive.

Every time I call regarding my issue I get the runaround from a representative, obviously reading from a script. Its obvious that Volkswagen Corporate has the power and I am just a little mouse. They feed the customer service reps the lines and even though they know very well that I am being wronged, I have no way of speaking to anyone who has the power to resolve the issue so I am completely powerless. Expensive repairs after 60,000 miles. Most of the VW 2.0 liter TBI engines are known for water pump failures. IN December 2019, VW added an extended warranty to your car you probably do not know about. If you take your car to the dealer for the warranty extension repair, they will probably tell that oil leaks, another VW problem, caused the pump to fail, and they wont honor the warranty. Now if you already paid to have your water pump replaced, you need to join the class-action lawsuit for compensation. It is ridiculous that a vehicle with 68,000 should need $4,000 worth of oil leaks and water pump repairs. This is another known problem that VW does not want to address so I would recommend selling that vehicle before the warranty expires.

Even we always use premium gas so engine still builds the carbon which was a very costly fix. We arent the only ones we have had issues with VW, our friends and people we know who own previously VW had the same experiences. On November 18, 2018, I’ve purchased a new 2018 VW Golf R. This car is equipped with an Electronic Parking Brake System (EPB) and an Auto Hold system which self engages the EPB when you torn off the engine. On January 23, 2019, I’ve parked the car on the driveway in front of my house. The EPB has self engaged as usual. The yellow indicator light on the EPB lever went on, as well as the red PARK indicator on the instrument cluster display. I’ve got out of the car but didn’t lock it since I was planning to return in two minutes. While I was walking up the stairs towards my house, my wife just left the house and was walking towards me. Suddenly she yelled: the car! I turned around and saw my brand-new VW moving forward, and crashing into the fence. As a loyal customer of VW (this is my third one!) I thought that they will take responsibility and cover the cost of the repair which is almost $1,000, but apparently, VW doesn’t care about their customers at all. After many phone calls and email correspondence with the dealership and VW of America, I was told that since they couldn’t find any evidence for a manufacture shortcoming then this is on me. I don’t know what kind of evidence exactly they were looking for, I just know for a fact that the car was on Park and then it rolled over and crashed into the fence. So now I’m stuck with a slightly damaged car which has a serious safety issue, and VW isn’t willing to take responsibility. Needless to say that this is the last time I buy this brand. For shame VW, for shame. A quick google search brought up that this isn’t the first time that VW vehicles have such a problem with the EPB. Please take a look at the following links: **. One guy even broke his ribs because of an EPB failure. Does a terrible accident with casualties must occur for VW to take responsibility and do something about this?

The last time the seatbelt broke was on 2012, so 12 months means nothing.I asked what is causing this... neither Ashlee or #1 Cochran could give me an answer. But Ashlee did tell me I needed to go back to my dealership to learn how to properly lower and raise the back seat. Really! That is their answer. When I purchased my VW GTI it rode very rough. I asked if the PDI had been performed when I was completing the purchase paperwork and I was told that it had. After waiting 2 hours from my appt. time/drop off I asked if my car was ready. I was informed that there was a mistake with my paperwork and they hadnt started! 45 minutes later I was informed my service was completed. I lifted the hood in front of the service desk to inspect the service but before I could pull the dipstick I noticed there was oil on my right fender, on the engine cover and my front license plate was bent out from the bumper at a 90 degree angle (not how it had arrived 3 hrs. I have been an on/off VW owner for almost 15 years. I recently became one again just a few months ago and now I know why I was on/off, rather than always on! After this current experience, I cannot recommend Volkswagen products any longer and no matter what changes they make, I will never return. My recent vehicle was purchased brand new and the quality of workmanship on it is so poor that I would not let my worst enemy get one. Mine came with a defective dashboard straight out of the factory! The dash had a golf ball sized imperfection and a few hollow spots near the passenger airbag. The front window trims also had gashes in them and were also colored differently. One of my interior lights has a bug and some floating debris inside of the housing. There is a s black paint mark on one side of my trunk door (my vehicle is red). I dont care how much the vehicle retails for, this workmanship is pure junk and 100% unacceptable. This vehicle and all of VW is a total embarrassment to the entire car world. I had my VW Jetta for three years, the problem began when I wanted to purchase the vehicle I leased. It took 3 months of calling to get the payoff in writing. I would call VW Credit and sit on hold for at least 30 minutes, before someone would answer. If I could stay on hold that long, I work full-time, and my Mother had heart surgery, so time was not something I had a lot of. If and or when someone would answer, one of two things would happen. They would disconnect me or tell me they could not help me. Call the dealership. I call the dealership and they tell me to call VW Credit. Finally, I got the payoff, then the check engine light comes on. Guess what happened when I took it to the dealership, the same all over again. Ive been there three times with nothing in writing as to whats wrong with it. Plus an open recall that was not even addressed. I am saddened by the complete disconnect from VW. I have an appointment at a local Ford dealership, that has a former VW technician on staff to diagnose the problem. I really thought VW was a quality product, I never had this problem with a Ford.

Has anybody else had problems with VW Inchcape dealers in Chester, Cheshire
Has anybody else had problems with VW Inchcape dealers in Chester, Cheshire dealership? I purchased a brand new diesel Volkswagen Golf TDI just under 3 years ago (and have full service history). The cars mileage was 72,000 - reasonable for a diesel engine so the car was out of its warranty, which I am not questioning. However, the crankshaft snapped whilst the car was less than three years old, resulting in major engine failure. It took a repair bill of over £2000 for this to be fixed. The garage that it was taken to had never experienced this problem before and an independent report states it was due to metal fatigue and not misuse or wear and tear.To be fair, Volkswagen had reduced the cost of the replacement crankshaft, however Inchcape have refused to refund the high repair bill. In my opinion they are responsible for the purchase of the faulty crankshaft and hence should take responsibility for this. I am very disappointed that a reliable brand has let me down in this way. I have loved my VW Golf but have lost confidence in it. I invested in a reliable name and feel disappointed in the quality of the engine that I have been supplied with. Any comments or similar experiences would be appreciated. Thank you.

By far the worst dealer experience ever. Bought a 2015 Golf TDI last year. I purchased an alarm system and finally got tired of the remote not working so I had the dealer take the alarm out. I told the service manager that I wanted the alarm parts to take with me. I paid for them. She said no. After a quick talk with the latest of many upper management replacements who apparently quit or get canned weekly, they made her run across the street and retrieve the alarm. She returned with the main component but with no wires/plugs. Whatever. She then told me... Volkswagens dont work with alarms. This comment came straight from the service manager. I then spoke to the salesman who sold me the car and he told me, after a long conversation about how much he disliked working for VW, that I should of never bought a diesel as Vw, and this particular dealership, had no mechanics that even knew how to work on diesels. This dealership also sells Mazdas. My last 4 vehicles have been Mazda 3s. Over 500,000 miles on them with only one strut needing replacement. The salesperson told me that I should of purchased another mazda 3 as they are better cars and the mileage differences between the 2 brands are very close now.AVOID VW. I AM MAKING TRIPLE PAYMENTS ON THE GOLF TO HOPEFULLY SELL IT without too much of a loss AFTER 1 YEAR. (SAD) Volkswagen SHAME ON YOU FOR BEING LIARS, UNETHICAL, STUPID, AND BELIEVE ME; THEIR PROBLEMS START CLEAR AT THE TOP. I gave them so many chances to make things right. They completely abandon customers after the sale. Bad cars, bad company.

Received the car with minor scratches on the steering wheel and didnt make a fuss about it. 6 months later the scratches expanded and steering wheel is peeling all around. I took it to a VW authorized dealership and they claim it looks like it was scratched so it wont be covered under warranty. I wont be buying/leasing another VW and will warn my friends, co-workers and family not to get one. I have an older Jeep Cherokee with same type of steering wheel that still looks new. It seems VW are using inferior material to make their steering wheel wrap.

I bought a 2010 VW Jetta TDI Sportwagen because rumor has it that the VW diesel vehicles are solid cars that get good MPG. My car gets decent MPG but the inferior quality of the car more than cancels out any savings I may have had on fuel. Oct 2012 - The fuel pump imploded. $6,600 worth of damage. Aug 2013 - EGR valve = bad. Had to be replaced. $709.53 out of pocket. Sept 2013 - Diesel particulate filter = bad. Had to be replaced. EGR valve had to be replaced AGAIN. $1,714.80 out of pocket. Apr 2014 - Car in limp mode. Turbo = bad. $1,689.94 out of pocket. July 2014 - Diesel particulate filter bad AGAIN. EGR valve bad for a 3rd time in 12 months. Estimate $2,200 out of pocket. August 2014 - Air Condition stopped working. Estimate $1,700 out of pocket.

I must say they look very nice and stylish, but I been at the repair shop it seems like every 3 mos since Ive had it, thank God I had a extended warranty or I would be screwed of out of pocket repair cost. In 2014 I had to get my transmission replace, my headlights goes out every 3 mos, my coils constantly has been replace, I tried trading my car but no one wants to give me a good trade-in value so thats upside down, Im now dealing with a lemon law lawyer and hope I can get a full buyback. I bought a brand new 2007 VW Beetle six years ago in Huntsville, AL and I hate it. What do you hate about your Beetle? Heres a long list of why I hate this car: I bought the plastic seats. The sales man said the new, modern plastic fabric doesnt burn your buns and soak your pants with sweat in the summer. He said neither does the new, modern plastic fabric give your buns a bad case of frostbite in the winter. He told a bunch of big, fat lies about the new, modern plastic fabric. I have to sit on a towel as do my passengers. So embarrassing.Buttons started breaking within 2 months of purchase: lock buttons, window buttons, radio buttons. Within 3 months of purchase, water or something like it mysteriously appeared on the floor board on the driver side on two occasions during dry weather: once on the driver side in front of the front seat and once on the driver side in front of the rear seat. A towel got wet and my book bag got wet and caused my textbooks to mold. At least one headlight burns out every six months. The cost to have it replaced ranges from $60 to $80. The whole headlight assembly has to be removed to replace the light. Recently, both headlights burned out within two weeks. I realized it when I drove onto the interstate at night and couldnt see a thing. Scary. The lower front ball joints busted and had to be replaced. The overhead lining eventually came completely unglued. Have you ever come completely unglued? When it dropped down in the back, I had to pull off the road and cut it off with a pair of scissors so that I could see out the rear window. Now, the interior looks really ugly. Water started pouring out from under the front dash onto the passenger side floorboard whenever it rained. I had to take it in twice to get it fixed. If I open the back hatch when its raining or shortly after a rain, water that has collected around the rim of the hatch pours onto the back passenger seat. This may explain why cloth fabric wasnt an option for this car.Water collects in the spare tire well. I stored the owners manual there and it got soaked and covered with mold. The windshield wiper on the driver side skips and makes a loud, distracting noise. Ive tried expensive wipers, cheap wipers, VW wipers. They all skip and make an awful noise on the driver side on this windshield. Accelerating from a stop is choppy. The air conditioner doesnt get cold above 85 degrees and barely gets cold below 85 degrees. The matte coating on the door handles is peeling off as well as on the gearshift assembly. After all the water issues, the interior now smells moldy. So far, there has been one recall: to reposition a fuel supply line to prevent a fire. All the items that I listed above that required parts and labor, cost TIME or MONEY or LOST WAGES or all three to get fixed. Before you buy a VW Beetle, consider the consequences very, very, very carefully... If you bought a VW Beetle, do you hate it? If yes, why? If no, why not?

I have a 2013 VW Tiguan in mint condition except for the paint, its fading or discoloring. See my photos attached. I am absolutely totally upset about this and paying $500 a month car payment to look at this everyday. I talked to the dealer in Orlando FL and no help whatsoever. They referred me to VW USA and I spoke to them and put a claim in only to tell me that I dont have any issues with my paint. As you can see in the photos attached there is a clear picture of the discoloration. I feel VW is being unfair as this is their branding and being negligent with their warranty not the paint.

Being a foreigner for over 4 years in the US, I had a hard time building credit, trying to get credit cards but banks never wanting to give them due to being on a US visa. So after I got denied several times years before I finally got financing on a Passat with $6000 down payment and a 14% interest rate and of course the salespeople at VW Santa Monica scamming me by making the price higher when we did the contract, from $17399 to suddenly $18956 or something including all the fees, so that I pay interest ON the fees as well (did not know better) paying $26.000 something on the car when paid off! So almost $9000 more than this crappy car is worth. Anyway, after paying on time for more than 1 year, I lost my job and fell behind with payments. I called a few times asking to refinance or lower the payments to no avail. Then fell behind 5 month and of course when I call they tell me car is in repo but they take the repo off if I pay at least 4 payments asap. I tell them I am overseas and need to have my US checks cleared through my bank which took 3-4 weeks over the Christmas holidays. So as soon as it cleared I send a money order via FedEx with 5 month worth of payments to get current. So I call 2 weeks later and they tell me I have to return the car as my account was closed. I am like, WHAT??? They told me on the phone if I pay 5 payments they will take off the repo and I can pay monthly via bank transfer from then on, and I call and they just canceled everything they said before and say Pay $14.000 - right now or bring the car back. I cannot believe it. They say, Contract says bla bla cancelled when in default, even after I agreed on the phone to pay them 5 payments and get current and DID pay them, they say, It was TOO LATE and now they want the total outstanding on the car within days or need the car back. What a ** company, the WORST liars and scammers out there! I paid up, she confirmed my payment but supposedly it was days too late. So now I dont know what to do, lose $26000, and the car, cannot drive to work without a car, still have to pay off the rest. Instead of working with us these scammers rather take your car and still have you pay off the rest because they is how they make money. NEVER VOLKSWAGEN AGAIN. Worst car company ever. I am going back to Honda or anything that is better than this ** pile of a company. Will tell all my friends to never buy a VW!

2015 Golf TDI Wagon. So disappointed in this car. 1300 miles and six weeks old: The phone system does not sync with my i-phone. The gas gauge malfunctions. The upgraded Fender speakers are less good than my Tiguan speakers were. Cant hear the radio when the substandard AC is on. The radio goes in and out and takes about 3 minutes to even turn on. The sun shade is getting dirty when it retracts. How do I get rid of this car? It is costing too much and I do not like it. Gas mileage is less than expected.

I called to set up a payment on a Monday for the following Friday. The CSR even repeated the dates to me. The payment was put in for the next day instead of that Friday resulting in an overdraft with a fee. I called back on that Friday and explained what they had done and asked the CSR again if she was sure that they werent going to try to take the first payment out again before I set up a new one. She assured me that they would not so I went ahead and set up the payment again. Again, she was clueless because they did indeed try to now take out 2 payments! This caused another overdraft fee and a stop payment for the second payment. I called again and they stated that they needed a copy of my bank statement proving the $88.00 in fees so I faxed them the statement and called back 3 days later. The payment had not been processed and the CSR had to place me on hold for 10 minutes to go find the fax! He assured me that a check would go out to me that day. Well, that was 5 days ago so I called back today and another CSR manager apologized and stated that somehow it didnt get send to the correct department for approval so she would take care of it today. Very poor customer service to say the least and I wont be recommending them to others.

Purchased as certified preowned in 2015, after the first year of ownership multiple, MAJOR repairs have been completed. The ignition lock broke and would not allow me to turn my vehicle on or off at random times. The headlights had to be replaced three times in one year. For some reason the dealer could not explain, yet miraculously fixed. At the end of 2018 North Park Volkswagen had my vehicle for a month to diagnose problems they could not find the first time around. Turned out to be the timing chain and tension pulley (which never failed on a different car I owned that was 20 yrs old). Coincidentally, the battery died at the same time and I was made to pay for it. Add that the fuel pump failed (again, at the same time) and when they returned my car to me, was leaking gasoline in puddles. Just about the only thing left to fail is the transmission! Thank goodness for the extended warranty! I was very disappointed with the quality of the car, overall, and with the lack of concern and poor service. The dealer and service department used to impress me, but the more problems the car THEY sold me had, the less responsibility they took and poorer their customer service became. Even VW of Americas corporate office failed to follow up with me until almost a month later.

I took my VW Polo Vivo sedan 2016 model in for a 90000ks service the 1st week in July. I told the technician that there is a cluck cluck noise coming from the drivers side. Can he please check it. When I got the car back he said the battery needed to be replaced and but I could still drive the car. A week later the car wouldnt start, so took it back to the dealer that did the service and had them replace the battery. I still told him there is this cluck cluck noise. They replaced the battery and he said that he heard the noise but I can still drive the car. They picked up that an irregularity on an injector but I can still drive the car. Only when the EPC light comes on then I must bring the car in. The same day I replaced the battery while on my way home the car wouldnt go faster than 40ks and this cluck cluck noise got louder and louder, eventually the car wouldnt go anymore and I had to get towed home. The next day I called a VW near my house and they said that they cant help me. They fully booked. They can only help me the Friday the 12Th. So I had the car towed in, the security guard at the gate closed the gate in the tow truck and let us drive around aimlessly trying to find the service department. Booked my car in and they took me home. I called in at 3pm that day to ask if they had found something and the guy said to me there is a waiting period of 24 to 48 hours for the technician to look at my car. So I called on every time to this dealer to find out what was wrong with my car. By Tuesday the 16th they still didnt know what was wrong with my car. Wednesday the 17th they said to me the spark plug melted, they couldnt explain how that happened. So they needed me to pay a R6500 stripping fee so they could strip the engine. Thursday they came back and said that the gasket between cylinder 1 and 2 is burnt, they would get back to me with a quote. Thursday even they came back to me with a quote of R45000 that the engine needs to be overhauled. Im still asking how can a car go in for service and a week later the car isnt working and now the engine needs to be overhauled. I logged a complaint with VW SA and they also of no help. Both dealerships are not willing to help me. So now its almost 3 weeks and I dont have a car, and no one is willing to help me. This whole experience has left a sour taste in my mouth and I will never buy another VW in my life. I will also tell people not to buy VWs and what service they in for.

We purchased a VW Jetta from Danbury VW back in 2009. We brought the car in at 55,000 miles due to a check engine light. They diagnosed this problem being emissions related and charged us for the test. It turns out this was under warranty till 80,000 miles and did not fix it, instead they wanted to charge us for process of elimination repairs in excess of $8,000! We did not accept this. We contacted the dealer and VWoA several times and they always decline to fix. Now the car has reached 108,000 miles and will fail inspection. When purchasing a VW product be aware of the total cost of ownership. Many VW parts are proprietary and the Company charges accordingly. For example, changing the battery on a key fob - $75 (requires programming), to replacing a door latch (including labor) $471.57, supplying an air conditioning hose (part only) $368.39. These are actual prices. When asked about their pricing policy VW North American provided an answer containing verbiage but no substance.

Purchased the 2019 Passat R-Line edition on 3/2/19 and really like the styling, but that is where it ends. Three days after purchasing the vehicle, the remote start stopped working. There is a software flaw where the remote timer doesnt reset after starting the car, so once youve reached an overall total of twenty minutes the remote start never works again, as it is awaiting on an “input signal” that the car has been started non-remotely. AutoNation said it is Volkswagens problem and VW Customer Care said they know about the problem but they do not have a fix for it and that its basically my problem because it does not meet the guidelines for lemon law or VW’s policy to take the vehicle back. They said they are not pulling these vehicles from the lots because it is not a safety or mechanical issue but the dealerships are not disclosing this information either. VW Customer Care offered me $100 gift card and said they do not know when a fix will be released. Buy something else, and steer clear of VW. What good is a 7 year warranty, if they are selling cars that cant be fixed?

I purchased my 2014 Volkswagen CC in September of 2014. I was so excited to join the VW family. I leased this vehicle to get my feet wet and determine if I would be a lifelong VW customer. Well, in 2016 while driving down one of Houstons busiest freeways my car stalled and I was just barely able to pull to the side of the road. I had to have my vehicle towed to the dealership where they kept it for 4 days. They replaced multiple parts, it seemed fine. The very next morning I got up and the car wouldnt start. I had to have it sent back to VW in which they discovered an issue with the fuel pump module. After replacing this part, I drove it back home and the next day it wouldnt start again, maybe the third time is a charm. I had it towed back to VW and they replaced the battery. Less than a year later with my son in the car, the vehicle died again. Luckily I wasnt struck by another vehicle. I had it towed to the nearest VW service center in which they told me it was the fuel module again, but it was out of warranty and I would have to go through VW cares to see about getting it replaced or I would be responsible for an 1,800 repair bill. Well, after going back and forth with them they agreed to replace the part. Can you imagine how unsettling and scary it is to drive a vehicle that has such a huge safety issue and recall with no permanent fix. Well, this weekend I was driving down the freeway and the vehicle stopped again, I was blessed enough to pull to safety. My 10 year old son was in the back seat praying we wouldnt get hit. I had the vehicle towed to VW Saturday night at 8pm, so I was without a vehicle for the entire Easter weekend and couldnt get my son to his obligations. Monday morning I received a call from service advises, my brake fluid was green, the control arm bushings were cracked/dry rot and I needed an alignment totaling 1,000+ in expenses. The service rep stated this was just the beginning, but there was also several transmission codes and the diagnostic would be 135 to see exactly whats wrong with the vehicle. I told her to go ahead that was at 9am, its now 6:30 pm and I have yet to hear anything. I called around 3:00 pm to be told the clutch was out and they were trying to get me a quote for a transmission and to expect my service rep to call before end of day. Well, I am truly disappointed in the service, maintenance and overall Volkswagen CC. I will list all parts Ive had replaced on the vehicle and estimated repair costs since Ive had the vehicle. Ribbed belt. Tensioner. Valve. Separator. Mounting. Bearing. Turbo valve and crankcase breather leaking oil. Washer. Fuel unit. Control un. Battery. Battery disposal fee. I have not added the additional services that Ive had in the past 6 months.

My 2012 VW Tiguan (30,000 miles) has to have the engine replaced. I take it to Bethesda Oarsman dealer. Thankfully I had the extended warranty but they had my car for over 2 months. Took it back and they said they fixed it but still had the noise with a new noise happening every time I started to accelerate. Took back it again. Then my sunroof starting leaking and mats were soaked. Took it in again and they said they fixed it.3 weeks later after I was away for 2 weeks and not using the car I got in and the entire car was damp with Mildew everywhere. Took it in again and they had it for 2.5 months and told me it was fixed so I came and picked it up. Drove it that night but the car still stank of mildew and it rained and water was dripping from all the windows. Defroster just made it worse and was dangerous driving. Took it back in again the next day and told them they didn’t fix anything. Left it there for another 2 weeks. Got a call telling me it was ready again so went to pick it up and car still stinks like mildew and mold is still on seatbelts. Left it there and this is where I am now. NEVER BUY A VW!!

In March 2016 I experienced my first issue with not being able to open my trunk, took it into a VW Dealership for service and found the root cause to be the trunk wire harness, lucky I had an extended warranty, my out of pocket expense was $300. Now, its January 2018 the same problem just happened again right after I spent $1300 for maintenance. My comment and concern is that I would not expect to have an ongoing issue with my trunk and backup lights not working because a trunk wire harness keeps breaking. In particularly because I dont use my trunk on a daily basis. Wondering if this is a design flaw? I love my 2011 VW CC, it performs well and so far hasnt given me any major problems (have had it for 3 years). Of course, I have to make an appointment and get it fixed. I wish there was something that could be done with the trunk harness to prevent it from breaking. If anyone has any ideas, I would appreciate it if you would share it.

On May 29, 2015 my car had a crash that I was told made my 2013 unsafe, too expensive to fix not covered under the Bumper to Bumper factory 3 year/36,000 mile warranty. Per the eye witness to my crash, obtained on the Police Report, here is a summary of what happened: The car was in the right lane of a 4 lane road. The speed limit on that part of the road is 40 mph (I had just turned onto the road at the intersection and was not going over 25 mph). The road was wet, smooth pavement and free from any holes, rocks etc. The right front tire canted out of from the car. The car then veered to the left, across a lane of traffic, and hit the concrete divider and steel sign. The witness took pictures immediately showing the right front tire still at an angle to the car, the right front bumper was not touching the curb due to the angle of the impact with the concrete divider. There was no visible sign of damage to the right front portion of the car, other than the obvious tire that remained tilted outward from the car. All damage to the car resulting from the impact with the concrete divider was on the left side of the car.On Wednesday June 15, 2015 the VW Product Engineer came to Missouri to evaluate the probable cause of the crash of my 2013 Passat. Since I believed that I was not getting all of the truth about why my car crashed I also went to where my car was available for inspection and arrived 10 minutes after he was finished with my car. The car was on a rack and I asked the mechanic to identify the right tie rod for me. The right tie rod looked intact as was the left side. I asked him to identify the piece that appeared broken. He said it was the ball joint. This piece was sheared off and each side was in the holder. The ball joint on the left side was in one piece with a top and bottom piece covering it. I asked about the brakes. The right front steel drum was loose and I could wiggle it from side to side. The left side would not move at all.I was called the next day by a person filling in for the representative that had discussed the possible warranty problem with me. I was told that I could not get a copy of the report, could not speak with the Engineer and that his conclusion was NO warranty defects! When I asked how determined how pieces were broken I was told that I must have hit a rock or other object and the parts were broken at impact with the divider. When I asked how the tire fell out while going straight on the road, there was no answer. When I asked how the ball joint was sheared off and I was told that a force from outside the car caused the rod to snap. Not a reasonable answer. I was then told my case would be closed and that I could not discuss this any further. I asked if that meant I should sue them in court to get the answers I was told YES.I do not think you have to be an Engineer to know that the conclusions were made with total disregard to the order of event and the photos of the crash site. If the ball joints are made of metal, steel perhaps?, then it would be impossible to create enough force from the outer side of the tire to cause the ball joint to shear off. There was no damage to the outside of the tire until AFTER the car was drag off off the scene by a tow truck. I suspect that the Engineer decided what caused the wreck before he got to my car and used the scenario of me crashing the car and causing the mechanics to fail. Since the tire chanting out from car happened right before the car veered left and then crashed I do not believe the Product Engineer has this clearly figured out.

If I had only known what an awesome car the 2013 Volkswagen Tiguan was I would have bought another like it. This car is reliable, safe, comfortable, looks great, handles great and good on gas. I wish I had known sooner. What great car!

I bought Tiguan model 2012 from the dealer in Abu Dhabi. I am the only driver, and exactly after the 3 years warranty expired, I started experiencing major problem with the car. For example: leaking coolant pump, boot cracked, noisy bush cracked, stuck defect, and more. I have just replaced the roof cetane (damaged with no obvious reason) and cost me almost 1000$. And last year there was oil leakage which required costly replacement. I would like to know why this is happening to a new car. Never happened to me before with other make. Please do respond to my concern.

They have covered many repairs and updates on my Jetta. Whether tail lights, oil changes, tires and headlights. The dealership we use is Campbell Nelson Volkswagen and they are pleasant and courteous. They keep us informed of any mechanical issues that need addressing.

I have had a rattle since June in my 2018 Atlas. It has been in 5 times for this problem. Now they say I need a new seat frame and they have no clue when it will be in. It could take a month or 5 months. You cannot even listen to the radio because the noise is so loud. I have taken with customer care service and they are useless. They refuse to replace the seat from another VW Atlas that is on the lot. I am sure they can do a temp repair of putting foam in the seat frame but they wont even do that. I would strongly recommend not buying a VW product due to their very poor customer service and the futility of getting repair parts.

I called VW Roadside Assistance to tow my car that had 4 slashed tires. They said they were almost to my place and after waiting an hour they said they were stuck in traffic. So they sent another one that would be here in a few minutes. After another hour and a half, they said they would send another one. This one came an hour later, but they sent the WRONG typed! I told them many times I needed a flatbed because I had 4 slashed tires!!! Dont ever use VW Roadside Assistance. They are doing false advertising when they sell cars and say you will get free convenient roadside assistance in their package. They finally sent another one out, and after waiting all day, they finally got my car to VW but after hours!!! They SUCK!!! Dont ever use Volkswagens Roadside Assistance!

I hit a small deer one month ago (drivers side light, hood, quarter panel). The insurance paid for the body work, but not for a spastic, drivers side door. The car (VW 2002 Golf TDI) thinks the door is open all the time and alerts me. When I turn on the lights at night, the alert screams at me. The dealership, which Allstate Insurance made me tow the car to, says this happens to the door all the time even if you hit a pothole and jar the car. The dealership is a 3-hr round trip from where I live and there is a certified VW mechanic in the next town from me, but Allstate wouldnt let me take it there. I told the adjuster and dealership that nothing was wrong before the accident, but they say it is something that happens on VWs a lot. Why isnt there a recall on this if it is so prevalent. And if hitting a pothole could cause this problem, why wouldnt an accident do so also? I will never buy another VW. I have put a lot of money into this car (VW maintenance costs a lot!). Its a 2002 model, but I had a Honda that I drove for 20 years before any major money had to put into it. This has been a nightmare not having a car for a month and living in a rural area.

I have had to replace my engine twice in the last 10 months. My 2012 VW CC with 89k miles has cost $11,000 in repairs in the last 10 months with nothing covered by warranty. I understand that mistakes happen in business, but the way you judge a company is how they respond to a mistake. Needless to say I can never recommend buying a VW to anyone.

We have been a customer for 20 years. We purchased a VW Jetta in 2015. We have not had too many issues with the car. However, when coming back from vacation with 2 children in the car and we had a blowout at 9 pm on 64 E in Virginia. I pulled over to the side of the road, I then removed everything from the trunk to get to the spare tire. After pulling out the jack, and tire out of the car, I noticed there is no lug wrench. We called VW roadside assistance which dispatched a tow truck that I arrived 45 minutes later. We had the vehicle towed to our home which cost me $211.00. I went to VW the next morning to explain what happened and their sales manager said: Well you bought the car 4 years ago. It not our problem.I called customer service to file a complaint and received a callback and stated they are not going to do anything because the car was four years old. The sales manager was uncaring and did not even seem to care. I asked to speak to the GM and he stated he wont be in for 30 - 60 minutes. I waited to speak to the GM but never got to speak with him but was told they were not going to assist us with the tow cost. They would of if I had towed the car to their dealership. I said I had 4 people in the car (2 children) as well as a lot of luggage. After 20 years of faithful service with the company they did not care about their customers, they are only out for the money. As of today, I will NEVER BUY A VW again or recommended the dealership/company again. So much for Southern Hospitality.

Let me start by saying that this is the second VW Ive own. I just found out that my car has been affected by the Takata airbag recall for over a year and I was not notified about the problem and has been driving an unsafe vehicle this whole time. There is obviously no fix for yet and who knows when/if they will ever repair the problem. Ive been trying to sell this vehicle as I purchased a new car a few months ago and as you can imagine no one will buy this VW because of the recall. As a single mother I simply cant afford making 2 car payments, insurances etc. so I requested that VW buys the car from me. To my surprise they said they couldnt help me!! So now Im stuck with a vehicle that I cant afford and no one will buy including VW!! Im truly disgusted by the whole experience and the company. This isnt my first VW but will sure be my last one.

My daughter bought this 2014 Tiguan and paid as much as a small house for it. 2.0 turbo engine. With 88,000 Kms (53,000 miles) on it now it will hardly haul itself in cold temperatures, jerking and misfiring with a PO300 code RANDOM MISFIRE. Have replaced camshaft sensor, all 4 coils, spark plugs, mass airflow sensor TWICE, sprayed carbon cleaner into intake head to try to clean carbon from valves that is a HUGE problem with these Volkswagens. Spent hundreds of dollars trying to find the problem....VW dont know....NO ONE knows. Going in next week for yet ANOTHER sensor try...I bought a new 2006 Honda Civic that was just nicely broke in at 50,000 miles. At 150, 000 miles not KMs I had to do the brakes, that was the FIRST TIME I done ANY repairs on that car....VERY FIRST THING DONE. STAY AWAY FROM ANYTHING WITH VW ON IT...STAY AWAY...STAY AWAY!! Just do a little reading about these lemons online...STAY AWAY....YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED and you had better heed it, I cant type stay away enough times!

Our 2014 leased Volkswagen Jetta broke down in NH in March 2016. We live in Rhode Island. The car was suddenly billowing black smoke and all dash lights were on. We pulled off to the side of the highway, pulled out the auto roadside brochure and called the number on the cover. Their customer service rep took all our information. He took our phone # and said he would make the arrangements for the car to be towed and find a rental car agency that was open as it was Sat night and approaching 9 pm. I received a TEXT from him with the name of the tow company that would pick the car up and that had called the only car rental agency open in the area (Manchester Airport 91.7 miles from our home). He told them we would be there shortly as they were about to close. He provided us with a discount call that they honored. Our car was towed to the nearest Volkswagen dealership Autofair Manchester NH 87.8 miles from our home. The car was repaired the following Monday afternoon. We picked it up early Tues morning and returned the rental to the Manchester Airport. Per the instructions in brochure we submitted the charges for the tow 79.00 and 221.00 for the rental. We then received 2 denials of reimbursement. The tow was denied because they said we used a tow service that was not authorized. WE did not choose the tow service, the rep at the Volkswagen Roadside Service did. The text he sent me clearly stated that. They denied the rental car charge saying their parameters are 100 miles. We appealed the denials with Customer Service and they too denied both claims. Needless to say it never crossed our minds to ask the rep of Volkswagen Road Service to use an authorized Volkswagen tow service. We asked how they calculated the distance to our home from NH, they didnt know. We are both in our 70s and had a lease to ensure that we had dependable car backed by reliable customer service in the event of auto malfunction. Obviously this was an assumption on our part. The last agent we spoke with (Martin) at Volkswagen said he was sorry but thats the way it is. The experience of sitting along a busy highway for 2 hours was not pleasant one, but nothing compared to the deceitful business method of Volkswagen. Though we are well aware that Volkswagen could not care, but we will no longer give them our business nor will recommend them to anyone we come in contact with.

I purchased this vehicle new and after the first 30 days my 2019 Tiguan had problems - mainly electrical. I decided to wait on my next payment. I wasn’t even 30 days behind with the vehicle was repo’d. Never will own a VW again. Worst experience ever for a vehicle I only had for 90 days and they sent it straight to the auction so they can get a big balance from me!!

On the 19th October 2017 my Polo Gti which is still under warranty broke down at approximately 6 pm. This vehicle is currently doing 41000km and is still under warranty. My biggest concern or disappointment is that this car gave no warning and just breaks on a busy street with my family in the car. What if this car had broken down in the middle of nowhere or worst in a dangerous area putting mines and my familys life at risk?I then had to wait two hours for roadside assist to tow the vehicle away. I was told the next day by VW Umhlanga that they busy and my car will be only looked at on Monday. After phoning whoever I could I managed to get hold of service manager of VW Umhlanga who said that he will try have a look at the vehicle that afternoon.Saturday morning I got a call saying they did a software upgrade and the car is fine. 1. Why did roadside assist send a tow truck from Mount Edgecombe to tow the breakdown in Tongaat, is that the nearest breakdown services, because I know its not, I personally know a towing company in the area that is VW accredited. 2. Secondly why was the vehicle towed to Umhlanga who was clearly not willing to have a look at the car till Monday. Had I not made a fight about it, and to my knowledge VW Ballito is much closer.I am now worried as this vehicle has a warranty that ends at 45000km or next year 2018. There was no warning of it breaking and no explanations as to why it did. What if it has similar problems as soon as this warranty expires and the headache and costs of this vehicle now becomes mines. I spent 32000 rand on this vehicle and breaking down in the middle of a busy street was the last thing I expected.I am hoping VW comes up with a solution as to maybe extending this vehicles warranty and guarantee this problem never arises at all. If I do not get a reasonable solution from VW I will make sure I complain on every platform be it the ombudsmen or Hellopeter. I just think that breaking down in a vehicle that costs over 300000R without no warning and just be told by the agents its a software problem and we dont know why it has happened is unacceptable. I am hoping to get feedback from you soon.
