Volkswagen CC 2.0 - Car is something I wish I never owned -- 4 ignition coils, wheel bearings, intake manifold, clock spring, and now with 85,000 miles engine jumps time and it appears car needs new engine. I am one of the lucky owners as some owners posted engine failure at 50,000 miles. Of course Volkswagen of America says that is really too bad and are not willing to help at all. Car has great engineering but poor quality and is very undependable. Do yourself a favor and dont make a mistake.

Purchased our 2013 Tiguan new. Babied it... Changed oil early and often, always garaged. Tires replaced with Michelin Pilot Sport because original Michelins gone @ 14k. Rear window exploded in parking lot untouched (I was behind it when it happened). Tires shot AGAIN @ 40k... Would have been $1200 more but had warranty, so ONLY $600!!! Took it in for TX inspection @ 48k... Upper control arms/bushings shot... Replaced for $1300.00. Don’t buy VW... They’re not only crooks, they are also thieves!!!

I bought a brand new 2019 Beetle and noticed it had a bunch of things wrong right off the bat. One of the speaker lights didnt work, the manual seat sinks after a few hours, and the A/C button doesnt work properly. I am 3.5 hours away from a Volkswagen dealership so it takes me 7 hours round trip to service it. I have to do 2 seven hour trips per service because they never fix it in one day. So far I have had to make that round trip 4 times and they still have not fixed the issues other than the speaker light. I dont have time or patience anymore to take many days off for nothing. The product is poorly put together and the service is HORRIBLE, at least at South Motors in Miami, FL.

I bought an Amarok and only had the privilege of a weeks drive when my clutch broke. I have been phoning and trying to get action for 3 weeks without any results. My husband and I have a contractors business so we drive a lot between sites. There were very long and meaningless explanations as to why they couldnt help us with another vehicle. The worst of all is the lack of communication. Not a single person in the dealership knows when their vehicle part will arrive and nobody is letting us know whats going on. If you ask for a date and time, the person will react by saying they dont want to pin on a direct date because they dont want to be held responsible. Come on, this is Volkswagen, a big firm not a one-man roadshow. There is a total lack of professionalism.

The car looks great on the outside, the inside as well. Very comfortable car and spacious. The drive is smooth and affordable in gas. Its not a big SUV and not too small. Enough room to fit 5 people and a large trunk. Very happy with the design of the vehicle. As for the engine, I did have a few issues. Instead of a timing belt its a chain which needs to be changed and very costly. The pieces are ok in price but had to add some extra money on top of my payments. That was the downfall of this purchase.

Since starting my lease in March I have had nothing but problems with this 2016 Passat including a complete transmission blow out, three times where the car wont start and having to be towed in or serviced on the spot. Another transmission problem occurring right now. The VW Customer Service people are rude and rarely helpful. I bought this car for my 62-year-old wife and have had nothing but problems. This is without a doubt the worst car experience we have ever had and I would encourage everyone to stay away from VW. This company is terrible at handling issues and builds cars that are unreliable. I have had all of these issue happen in the first 5,000 miles she has driven the car. My wife is scared to take the car anywhere for fear that it will breakdown. We now avoid using this car as much as possible.

ANYONE EVEN HEARD ABOUT ENGINE OIL MIXED WITH COOLANT IN ANY OF THE VEHICLES WITHIN 50000 KM. But happened in the great Volkswagen - Vento. I had suffered a lot in the night time during my drive due to that. Even I paid to change the parts again I have faced the same problem. Now my vehicle is in their service station and said me to take the vehicle since the fault is rectified in which I asked the assurance letter that if the same fault happens in future, you have to take back the car and return back my purchased invoice value because I have twice faced and affected very lot in the night time travel. If they give the assurance I can take and drive without fear. But they denied to give. That means they have doubts, so that hesitate to give. In this situation how I get my vehicle AND drive without fear as affected twice. If I take my car without assurance I can put it my showcase rather than drive. For which I spent and bought the great VOLKSWAGEN. The WhatsApp group has been created for those are/were/have been, all affected by VOLKSWAGEN. If who are all wants to unite with us to fight to get our rights legally. We have already started legal battles, so join the group at the earliest to get the benefits.

Expensive repairs after 60,000 miles. Most of the VW 2.0 liter TBI engines are known for water pump failures. IN December 2019, VW added an extended warranty to your car you probably do not know about. If you take your car to the dealer for the warranty extension repair, they will probably tell that oil leaks, another VW problem, caused the pump to fail, and they wont honor the warranty. Now if you already paid to have your water pump replaced, you need to join the class-action lawsuit for compensation. It is ridiculous that a vehicle with 68,000 should need $4,000 worth of oil leaks and water pump repairs. This is another known problem that VW does not want to address so I would recommend selling that vehicle before the warranty expires.

I turned in my 2015 TDI diesel sportwagen on December 30, 2016 to Santa Monica Volkswagen. On a car which had real aftermarket depreciation, as it was an in-demand car recalled two months after I bought it, I was given $10k less than purchase price, and they did not factor in the ($1,500) upgrades I added on (custom light package, mats). I received my paltry settlement three days later - however, Volkswagen of America has NOT paid VW credit. I am not getting charged late fees for a car I no longer own. Both VW credit and the CSR at VW Claims recommend I make the car payment that was due on 12/31. When I met face to face with my ambassador who helped with the paperwork, he told me all fees would be settled immediately - so why would I not believe them??? Was considering an AllTrack - glad I passed, as I want nothing to do with VW ever again. I called VW corporate and they apologized. As if that matters.

After 6 years of being a loyal customer to Volkswagen, this is the thanks I get. I have a lease that is up Feb. 2016. November 2015 I was called into my dealer to trade out my car for a new lease. I explained I had fallen back on some payments, because I was out of work for a few months due to medical issues. I was making slow payments but doing my best. I had returned to work full-time and was ready to get the deal done with the new lease. They said Volkswagen, would not approve another lease because of slow payments. I was on-time every month for 51/2 years, and as you know real life happens sometimes. In any event the dealer said he was able to work out a deal and I should come in and sign papers. I arrived to the dealership at our scheduled time... waited 2 1/2 hrs. only to be told that there was an error. It was not approved and in fact Volkswagen credit wanted the dealer to confiscate my vehicle right there. They allowed me to leave yeah right gimmicks. I stepped outside and immediately called VW Credit to rectify the situation. They told me to make two payments and I would be up to date, or a least put back in the 30 mark. I agreed, I would go to Moneygram in the morning and get things squared away. Needless to say a few hours later my car was repossessed, from a friends private enclosed garage already suing which means I was followed to location lawsuit in effect. I only owed them $1,000. I had to pay $3200 to get my car back. Explain. Devils. My credit is now ruined, the vehicle is still due back in Feb. and I am assed out!! This is the second time they have screwed me over. I have bought them so much business I got 6 other family members to get a Volkswagen. So glad all leases are coming to an end. We will never support Volkswagen again. I will shout from the Mountain top!! Hate them all. Trust me lease or buy elsewhere!! Please believe me I have so many horror stories dealing with them!!

I bought my 2010 VW CC sport a few months ago. I was pretty happy with it at first. I rolled 60K and took it down to Hallmark (Henderson TN) dealership. I asked for the 60k service that my manual stated it needed which includes the following: oil change, spark plugs and coils change, tire rotation, brake inspection. I paid 300 for all this to be completed. After leaving the dealership my car starts misfiring after only 20 min. I drive it home and called the dealership only to be told CARBON build up in the motor needed to be cleaned. (There is no carbon build up.) I asked for more details and they hung up. So I decided to look into my car and see what they actually did. Lo and behold the spark plugs were still in the car from 2014. They charged me $90 for the tune up that they did not even do. I looked at the coils and it was the same thing. Except the coils were the original 2010 ones. Now my car wont even stay running because of something that they did during their SERVICE. They want to charge me another 1300 for them to re-diagnose the issue and clean the non existent carbon. (The carbon was previously cleaned before taking it to them.) MY advice, do the basic maintenance yourself and dont ever visit this dealership. If I could afford to swap this VW off it would be gone like yesterday.

I have owned over my lifetime no fewer than five Volkswagen/Audi automobiles: my first, a 1960 VW Beetle; a 1999 Cabrio; a 2003 Jetta; a 2003 Audi A3; and most recently, my last, a 2008 convertible bug I bought in the aftermarket as a first vehicle for my youngest child. Routinely, but most unfortunately, a headlight went out on the car. My daughter dutifully and naively went to an automotive parts store and purchased a replacement bulb, at my instruction. With replacement bulb in hand, my husband examined the cars headlight assembly and swiftly threw his hands up in the air, as did two local service mechanics. Thus, I was forced to send her to our local dealership in West Nyack, NY - Palisades Volkswagen, where I was charged for Volkswagens inane engineering the staggering sum of... wait for it... drum roll please... ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTY FOUR DOLLARS AND SIXTY EIGHT CENTS ($164.68)!!! You heard right. How on earth can Volkswagen expect its loyal consumer to happily absorb the cost of what is obviously a serious design flaw and expect that customer to ever purchase one of their poorly designed cars ever again? Frankly, Im insulted and angry. The loyal VW consumer should not be penalized for the companys flawed design. Shame on you.

I purchased a VW Jetta TDI in early 2010. By mid-2011, the Air Conditioner was not working properly and I needed a new Compressor that cost me $1200. Approximately 3 years later, I am told that I need another compressor because the A/C is not working. I have had this vehicle for approximately 4 years and literally it has had 3 compressors. I am about to spend $1400 on this 3rd compressor and Volkswagen Customer Care Unit people state that there is no assistance they can provide. The car has too many years on it (a total of four) and I will have to pay for the 3rd compressor (I paid for the second one too). The only comment I have is that I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER VW VEHICLE; IT IS CRIMINAL AND PATHETIC THAT A COMPANY STATES 3 COMPRESSORS IN 4 YEARS IS NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR. What a hypocritical Care Unit. I have received no satisfaction and I would never recommend purchasing a Volkswagen vehicle.

I was in the market to buy, cash, a 2016 beetle SEL but after reading the hundreds of reviews against a few good reviews I have decided not to purchase. With each review read, it was like reliving the days when I too owned a 1972 beetle. The same problems then are the same problems now - the window, door paneling, door handle falling off. When I read the factory warranty was 3 years 36 months that was a BIG turn off. Who does that anymore? Its a HOAX! RUN! I am 64, a widow and ready to have some fun. That fun will not be with VOLKSWAGEN! Thanks to all beetle owner reviews.

I would have thought that Volkswagen would have learned from their mistakes
I would have thought that Volkswagen would have learned from their mistakes and lies that caused them humiliation and tarnished their repute and customer loyalty. I thought VW is sincere to fix this emission issue and work with impacted consumers. I suffered twice by this VW fraud, first after knowing that I had been polluting the air and destroying our environment by driving my 2012 Passat TDI, and then not been able to use the car for months as it failed SMOG test. I was hoping to get rid of it after the court settlement, but I got into an accident and car got totaled. But unfortunately, due to the diesel emission fraud the car resale value went so low and I literally got 1/3 of the original price I paid, which was not enough to even buy a decent used car.I was hoping that upon VW fraud case settlement, I should be compensated for the balance, but after such a long wait, I found out that the registration for the fraud claim I did in October/November 2015 was not sufficient and I had to submit another claim for which the deadline was September 2016!!! When I didnt hear from VW on the claim and what are the next steps for me, I was told that I was supposed to sign a different claim (not the goodwill claim, that I signed up). As I had not submitted another claim, I am not eligible for the VW settlement Claim anymore!!! This is really sad and BAD customer service. I called their customer service team, who was not able to assist me with this and Im not going to get anything for this fraud that they committed. They asked me to call their legal team to address the issue. After leaving multiple messages, I received call from Casey **, who told me the same that I missed the deadline to apply to be eligible for claim and theres nothing that can be done now. Im very disappointed and disgusted by this whole ordeal by such a reputable organization (at one point), they lied, and screwed up big time, and now cutting corners to avoid paying consumers. In this entire ordeal, I learned my lesson and for sure will never buy another car from VW, Audi or whoever theyre affiliated with. Volkswagen still cheating with consumers on emission. VW management shame on you!!!

Im very frustrated at the fact that Im driving a car that has a potential safety issue and I usually have my 5 yr and 13 month old children with me. I bought the VW Tiguan because it was rated #1 for safety when my older child was 1 yr old. My car has had many problems and has spent 1000s of dollars in repair. But what has got me furious is the fact that on the morning of Friday July 25 2014. As I was leaving my parents house from dropping my kids and getting ready to go to work I started my car but the Power steering was gone completely. The Tiguan started and I could drive forward and back but the steering wheel did not move at all, as if it was locked but it was not and the power steering failure light came on in the dashboard. The Tiguan is almost 4 yrs old and about 73 thousand miles on it. But I do not think age is the issue with this problem, its just a design flaw from VW. This problem has me very concern because what if I was driving on the freeway and the power steering failed then? I could only imagine what could have happen. What if my children were with me? This problem is unacceptable, inexcusable and life threatening. This is a very serious safety issue with the Tiguan. My Tiguan was towed to a VW dealerships car shop and they told me there that they never heard of such problem with the Tiguan models. I search on the web and it turns out there are several hundredth 2009-2011 VW Tiguans owners that have had that same problem, and to fix the Tiguan it would be $2,045 dollars. The service rep suggested I call VW customer service. I did call and they were very nice and told me that they were going to see if they could help me with the repair. Next day I get a call from them and told me that they were not going to do anything about it because my Tiguan had more than 70,000 miles and was way out of warranty. This power steering problem has nothing to do with the Tiguans age. Other people that have had this exact same experience and only had their Tiguan for 2 months with 1,800 miles on and the problem keeps reoccurring! Warranty or no warranty this is a design flaw and should be covered by VW. Also in my opinion this is an issue worth a major recall but so far VW seems to be waiting for the first deaths to occur before they will react. There is always possibility that in traffic, the power steering really could go any moment.Something should be done about it!!! Before an innocent family dies!!! Help!!! In the meantime I will tell my story in the social media, to people, in the news if I can, in the radio if I can, report it to BBB, and make consumer reports anywhere I can etc., etc. I am now very scared to be driving the Tiguan. Its not safe and I dont feel safe! In other peoples Tiguan that have had the same problem it just keeps reoccurring after being fixed. VW has lost a loyal customer forever!

I would rate my experience minus stars if you had such a thing. From the day I bought the car I was no longer important to the Tracy Volkswagen Dealership. They didnt have enough time to go over all the details of this new car and said we could have more time on the coming Sat. They never called. When I called them with problems of charging it, they told me they were on vacation, but if you come in I can give you a little time. When I asked about problems with Barnstable free chargers around Hyannis they didnt know why I couldnt charge on them. Said they would check it out. They never did. After a month of trying to figure it out myself I gave up and took it back. They wanted me to go the lemon law route. I told them I thought it was damaged and that they knew about it. That would be fraud to do the lemon law. I ended up paying them a total of over $5,000.00 to get out of the lease. The Corporate VW was no better. They had nothing to say to me, even though they had me fill out a survey for their company. I sent them letters, all the information and copies of everything and nothing. After purchasing a brand new 2019 Atlas, it has been nothing but a nightmare. From cylinders not firing, bad spark plugs, blaming us for putting bad gas in... Now on 3 visits, then a faulty battery which a corporate mechanic had to find. It has been nothing but a disaster! To top it all off, we want to get rid of this LEMON and that has become an even harder process. Not only does this car violate CA law for having multiple issues on a specific part of the car, my 3-year-old has been in the car with me on two separate occasions when it has decided to randomly shut off. VW corporate was not phased by this at all. When purchasing this vehicle, my husband and I turned in a perfectly good, special edition BMW and received this piece of crap! Instead of actually taking care of my family, VW corporate insists that they will only pay us for the difference of the BMW and car payments. Myself, my husband, and my sons life was in jeopardy while driving this car, but clearly empathizing with hard-working decent people is not in this business interest. My family has purchased from VW for over a decade, but that will not happen again. Not only are they not taking care of our needs while trying to split ties with their company, they sent a completely incompetent email to us with false options and that demand we send items to send to them? I am in the business sector and business is not conducted in such a fashion as this.I also want to point out that because the email was so poorly composed, I could press legal matters around the areas addressed. This is a very stern warning that if you are looking to purchase a family vehicle this is a horrific option. I am extremely disappointed with this company and cannot believe they claim to service everyone and will not accommodate those who have been experiencing issue after issue, two being highly dangerous, and do not know the meaning of taking care of loyal customers. Such a shame!!

I bought a VW Tiguan 2009 from Koons Tyson Chrysler Dodge with 58K miles. The problems never stopped ever since the purchase. First, its engine hood release broke, then is truck lock broke that, then brake, then AC, then car check engine light start to come on, and the car is shaking when idle and low speed. After changed all spark plugs and coils problem remained. I went through 3 shops to find out that the engine timing chain tensioner have to be replaced. It will cost me close to $4K to do it. The mechanic told me it’s a common problem for that model year because VW changed turbo but I don’t understand why they didn’t do a recall. What kind of a car has common major engine issue at barely 60K and company continue to ignoring it. I bought the VW thinking good German engineering, well it turns out to be the exact opposite. When I purchased my 2012 VW Passat I was told by the salesperson at Taylor Volkswagen that it came with All Season radials, good for all weather conditions. After having a horrible time driving in the city through two winters I decided to check the specs on the Hankook tires that came with the car. Here they are only good for driving in a small amount of snow, not in heavier snow or cold climates like in Saskatchewan. I approached the dealer to have them explain why they would have a car shipped to Canada with tires that are not suitable for our climate. No response. I also wanted replacement or compensation for this gross error in judgment of tire selection. I was told, even by the sales manager, that the company policy is that there is no compensation or replacement on matters such as this. I feel that the dealership and VW are negligent in advising and selling cars with tires that are not suitable for our climatic conditions.

She kept asking me where I was getting my numbers, and I kept telling her from the information you just sent me. She kept telling me that her information was accurate and I owed about a grand, when really they owed me. I told her to add what she gave me, and she told me she did not have time to add 33 payments. I asked to speak to someone else who was going to be proactive and helpful. She told me there was no one else. In addition to feeling robbed every time we took the car in for service, we have now been waiting since early last November for our settlement from the diesel gate thing. We were initially told that Volkswagen had 20 business days to review our paperwork. That took 3 months. Then we were told once we received our final offer it would only take a couple of days to get an appointment to do the buyback thing. The earliest appointment we can get is the end of March. Meanwhile, we get penalized for the mileage we put on the car (my wife is in sales so its considerably more than the 12,500 per year limit). I have many other complaints about the car, the company, and the dealership, but they echo so many other reviews here I wont bother. Before you purchase a Volkswagen please consider how ethically bankrupt the company is and ask yourself if you really want to do business with them.

The fit and finish of the interiors are superior to most price comparable vehicles. The handling, suspension and gearing, allow them to cruise at autobahn speed (if necessary) while still providing a quiet, comfortable ride, with good control.Amazing right? Now the not so amazing part. They require strict adherence to Volkswagens maintenance schedule. Volkswagen tends to use a lot of proprietary parts and special tools, $$ to do even routine maintenance. ANY direct injection engine with eventually build up carbon. You can prolong this by using only top tier fuel, only premium octane and throw in a can of Techron now and then. But they will need cleaning eventually (and that aint cheap). I have not had issues with the DSG transmissions in my last 2 VWs. I find it shifts very smoothly, very quickly and in manual shift mode, fun to drive. BUT, they need to be serviced every 30K and that can range from $300 to $500, depending on where you have it done.I love the super bright xenon lights, especially in the CC, which track the motion of the car and follow the road. BUT, those bulbs aint cheap, they run hot, and they do wear out quicker than regular halogen bulbs. So, if you choose to buy a Volkswagen, you are getting a superior, drivers car. A vehicle that is sophisticated, very well built and will perform the job as daily driver with no complaint. Also understand this car needs regular maintenance, quality parts and needs to be looked after. If youre on this site researching a particular car, understand that Volkswagen sells hundreds of thousands of cars that work just fine. Also, from what Ive read, a lot of these issues could have been avoided by good solid maintenance. Yeah, pay the dealership or VW specialist, these cars are NOT for backyard mechanics.

I purchased a 2013 Volkswagen Passat in February 2013 which just turned three years old. I have had several recalls and none have become available. The warranty on this vehicle has just run out and I am having some of the same problems with the brakes while the car was under warranty. I am also having issues with the door locks. Whenever I stop at a traffic light or stop sign, the doors lock each time. I can hear the clicking. I took the vehicle into Napletons which is located in Champaign, and I was told that it would cost me $457.00. Of course I was upset. I then asked for the contact information for Volkswagens Customer Care and I ended up getting a number online.I began this call 1 hours 12 minutes and 30 seconds ago. No one has picked up the call yet. I am not sure why I am having these issues after the warranty ended. I plan on writing a letter. Lets see how that turns out. I would say to you, if you choose to purchase one of these vehicles to ensure that everything is covered by having the service department at your dealership check it and document it. I have no intentions of paying Napletons $457 to repair a problem that they should fix for free. If I have to pay, I will take it to another dealership to get it repaired. I will definitely think again before I purchase another VW.

I am extremely disappointed in my recent experience with Volkswagon Roadsid
I am extremely disappointed in my recent experience with Volkswagon Roadside Assistance. On Friday, April 15, 2016 we accidentally put 1.5 gallons of gas in our nearly empty 2012 Jetta TDI. I called Roadside Assistance for support and they advised me to have the car delivered to the dealership. A master mechanic suggested that we could fill the tank the rest of the way with diesel and have no problem. Trying to make a decision, I asked the Roadside representative what they would do at the dealership. He explained that they would lift it up, drain the tank and flush out the fuel lines, and said that Roadside would pay for the service. I said Roadside will cover it? and he confirmed. Based on the fact that Roadside said they would cover the cost of the service, I chose to go ahead with the tow rather than dealing with the situation on my own.On Saturday, April 16 I called Harmony Motors, our local dealership in Asheville, NC to check the status of my car. I was directed to the voicemail of someone who would be out of town for a week. His message warned that no voicemails would be received until his return. I called Harmony Motors again on Monday, April 18. They were surprised to hear from me and said they had no record of my car being there and could not recall seeing it come in. The mechanic said he would search the lot and get back to me. After two hours of panicking that my car was stolen and several calls to the dealership, Roadside and tow service, I finally heard back that they had found my car. Roadside Assistance gave the dealership NO information about my vehicle. The tow service they hired left my keys in the car without notifying anyone in the service department. My car sat in the lot for three nights and two whole days before anyone knew it was there. Now its Tuesday, April 19. The mechanic finally called me back to tell me what service needs to be done, and that it will cost over $500. I told him Roadside said they would pay for it. He followed up with Roadside, then called me back to inform me that Roadside is not going to pay. So, obviously I followed up with Roadside. I explained the situation to the representative and she said the manager would listen to the recording of the call and get back to me. I was hopeful because the representative was very clear. The manager was Felicia ** from the St. Petersburg, FL office. She said she listened to the call and that Roadside Assistance does not cover repairs and that I misunderstood the representative. I urged her to have someone listen to the conversation for another opinion. I explained that I am confident it was not a misunderstanding, and that perhaps the representative was misinformed about the companys policy. Even so, they should adhere to any promises made by their company reps. She said that it states clearly in the manual that Roadside does not cover the cost of repairs and that this written policy overrides anything that is said in person. She would not let me speak to her supervisor and would not give me her full name (I retrieved that later from VW Customer Care). She was rude, impolite, insensitive, and crass.I then followed up with VW Customer Care. I waited on the line for 40 minutes before my call was answered. I filed a complaint about my experience and the representative I spoke with here was very nice and understanding. I received a follow-up phone call from the VW Roadside Customer Care manager who further confirmed that Roadside will not pay for the service even if the representative claimed that they would. The written policy overrides anything else. I explained that this is an unethical way to operate a business and its not how I operate my own. If a representative makes a claim to a customer, the company should honor that promise and then take it up with the representative.I have gone four days without my car, hours of stress and time away from work, and am now facing a $500 bill that I could have avoided if I had the correct information from VW. It is clear that this company is well rooted in dishonesty, misinformation, extremely poor customer relations and no understanding of ethics. I hope this story shares more on the truth of how VW operates and that their words cannot be trusted. So what have we learned from this? If you want an accurate representation of Volkswagens services, I guess you need to consult written documents. Unless you happen to be inquiring about clean diesel. Then, unfortunately, youre ** out of luck.

I have a 2009 EOS - never again. While I like the car, especially the convertible top and driving experience, it has been multiple mechanical failures, some covered under recalls, others out of my pocket. I have had the injectors and ABS module replaced under recalls, and paid $2200 for a rear main seal (part $25 - the rest labor) caused by the engine oil pump malfunctioning and blowing the seal. When I got the car back after the ABS recall, it went into limp mode (stuck in second gear) and I returned to the dealership. Code on transmission says it has faulted 36 times - no dates - but this was the first indication it had a problem - no check engine light ever.Volkswagen says Sorry - out of warranty with no recognition of 36 previous faults, nor that problem appeared after testing for the recall on ABS module. Coincidence? They claim no. Right. Dealer tells me replacement is $5k-$6k, which is KBB value on sale to private party. Done with VW - working my way out of the two I have now. Know this: If the company hasnt been forced to do a recall on a problem, they will expect owner to pay. Doesnt seem like much has changed ever since US buyers have been lied to about the diesel fiasco.

My timing chain needed to be replaced on a 2017 Tiguan (or so they said). Only 70,000 miles. I changed the oil with synthetic per VWs maintenance schedule. Even though they had a massive recall on this same issue and claimed it was resolved, it hasnt been. VW reviewed the case and determined no action was necessary on their part. Basically, sorry, too bad. Then 3 days at the dealer with no loaner. VW Customer Care is a hardly that. Customer- Dont Care should be the name of the department. Over 1 hour on hold, or wait for a call back- you wont lose you place in line...get the call back later, only to be on hold another 20 minutes....seriously? Receiving my final invoice from VW credit for 4,888. This was a lease return that I thought was factored into the deal. Guess what, it was not. I am writing this as I just received my final invoice coming off a lease. Well guess what, I owe 4,888 dollars. This was back from May of 2018. At the time I gave Lakeland VW 5 stars. Matter of fact went and purchased 2 more VW as I was so happy. Well stupid me I should have asked more questions before signing any paperwork. Of course they took my trade/lease and gave me 1,000 dollars to make up for the remaining 6 lease payments. At the time this seemed weird but they told me not to worry about it, You will get your final invoice showing the remaining lease payments, take the money we send you and pay your final invoice from VW credit. What they didnt tell me is that you will also have to pay for high mileage, dents, dings and any excessive wear and tear. Well this just cost me an additional 3,888 dollars. Stupid me (because I have never leased). All they did was take and send it back to VW credit. I thought this was being treated as a normal trade in and any excessive wear and tear was factored into the deal. NOPE just the opposite. One would think they would have fully disclosed this prior to me signing the deal. Had I would have known I would have just kept the car until the lease ran out and just purchased it out right, which I had planned to do anyways. I have spoke to VW Corp and VW credit and of course there is nothing that can do, this lies with the dealership. I am warning you, if your coming off a lease be very careful and ask 1,000 of questions before signing your name. 7 months later you will get the same invoice as I did. Cost me an additional 3,888 bucks. Stupid me, go somewhere else that will have full disclosure since this is not your day job and youre trusting others with your money or at least trusting others to fully disclose your huge purchase. I would like the dealership to honor paying the additional 3,600 dollars that should have been factored into the deal.

Spent a lot of money at the Parkville VW Dealer on a AC Compressor, timing belt case, and new serpentine belt. Labor rates went up because it was considered a large job, which I find ridiculous. After putting everything back together, they went for a test drive. Found the AC was still not working. Called me and stated both refrigerant lines had a leak on them and they would have to be replaced. Wanted an additional $1,500 for the labor and parts. Fortunately, I said no and denied it. Had them put the car back together and I would drive without A/C. Took the car to a mechanic with 20 yrs. After some research, he found that there were no leaks in either of the refrigerant lines. But, what he did find was that the VW Qualified Tech (@$145/hr labor rate) overcharged the A/C system by almost 250 grams. I went from almost paying $1,500 to paying $80. Drastic difference. Absolutely ridiculous. More like unqualified tech. Not only was I upset about them overcharging the system, but when I called VW and told them what they did, I asked to speak with a manager. Service guy told me he was not available and that he would return my call. Still to this day after numerous calls, I have not heard from him. I lodged a complaint directly with VW America via their website. Still have not heard from them either. Not hearing back from anyone and taking ownership on their poor service is actually make me more upset than anything out of this whole experience. This will be my last VW I will ever own because of this horrible experience with this car and lack of taking responsibility by VW. Buyer beware. Do not buy VW. Tons of other better, great vehicles to buy out there.

My car was in an accident and my insurance company wrote it off as a total loss. During the process, at least with my insurance, they usually do a three way phone call involving the insurance agent, a representative from the financing company, and myself. The insurance company called four days in a row and waited on hold for over an hour each time. They suggested that, in addition to their attempts, that I could try and call VW credit also. I waited on hold for 45 minutes before talking to someone. The person I was connected to at VW credit was extremely rude right off the bat. After I explained why I was calling she immediately accused my insurance company of failing to make the calls and thats why this wasnt resolved. My insurance company is a massive, nationwide company. My claim is hardly a big deal to them. I asked her if she could call the insurance so we could get this resolved immediately and she informed me that they could not place outbound calls. Thirty seconds later she made the call to them. She then informed me, with a very snotty voice, that their hold times were similar to their own and it would be a minute.About three minutes later she returned to my call informing me that she had spoken with the insurance agent and had everything resolved for the most part. This person was extremely rude and I am completely outraged that a company allows their employees to speak to customers this way. I am nothing but respectful on the phone and I was trying to get the car paid off!! I am going to a VW dealer tomorrow and if they are unable to find me financing with anyone but VW credit it looks like I wont be driving another VW anytime soon.

They told me they were working with VW corporate to resolve it. After two days of nothing happening, I reached out to corp VW myself and got assigned to Colin **. His scripted emails were fluff and he wouldnt return my calls. The local dealer is telling me they cant figure it out and corp is telling me to take it 100 miles to another dealer to have it looked at. I bought a used VW Toureg 3 1/2 years ago after I was told that they were the most reliable & safe SUV I could get for my family. I purchased the vehicle with 40,000 miles and knew I may have some repair bills down the line, but was reassured by the salesman that it would last until 250,000 easy with regular maintenance. Since that time, I have spent over $7000 in repairs which has included both headlights (at over $200 apiece), brakes, tires, valves, crank case ventilation, windshield wipers, expensive oil changes, etc. I cannot even remember all of the repairs I have had to do, but if I had only applied that $7000 to the purchase of the vehicle I could have gotten a new Ford with a warranty. First of all, the only place that can do the repairs is a VW dealership which adds about $75 to every service. Also, I have not taken it once where it hasnt been at least a $500 bill. We have had a Ford F-150 Truck for 15 years and have not had $500 in service in total! After taking my complaint to the service department at Northtowne VW, his response was, Yes, maam. I am now stuck with a vehicle I cant afford to trade in (I still owe) and cant afford not to fix. I hope you dont make the same mistake!

This complaint is in reference to the Driver Side Takata Airbag being recalled as unsafe and potentially deadly. I am leasing a Volkswagen CC. This is the second VW Ive owned. I was notified almost a year ago that my car has been affected by the Takata airbag recall (Driver side airbag) and I have been driving an unsafe vehicle this whole time! There is obviously no fix for this yet and who knows when/if they will ever repair the problem. I have tried working with the VW Dealership that I leased it from as well as VW Credit and also, Ive been trying to sell this vehicle however, as you can imagine no one will buy this VW because of the recall! Who in their right mind would want to?!?! Yet, Im expected to drive an unsafe car and continue paying for it as well! This seems fraudulent and illegal to me yet I have no recourse. This is totally insane!!! Shame on Takata and Volkswagen for getting away with this!!! I requested that VW buy back the leased car from me. They want an exorbitant amount of money and to my surprise they said they couldnt help me!! They said it is an issue for Volkswagen America to fix... So now Im stuck with a vehicle that no one will buy including VW!! Im truly disgusted by the whole experience and the company. Although I cant even put into words what I truly think about this company! This isnt my first VW but it will definitely be my last one!!!

I bought a brand new 2007 VW Beetle six years ago in Huntsville, AL and I hate it. What do you hate about your Beetle? Heres a long list of why I hate this car: I bought the plastic seats. The sales man said the new, modern plastic fabric doesnt burn your buns and soak your pants with sweat in the summer. He said neither does the new, modern plastic fabric give your buns a bad case of frostbite in the winter. He told a bunch of big, fat lies about the new, modern plastic fabric. I have to sit on a towel as do my passengers. So embarrassing.Buttons started breaking within 2 months of purchase: lock buttons, window buttons, radio buttons. Within 3 months of purchase, water or something like it mysteriously appeared on the floor board on the driver side on two occasions during dry weather: once on the driver side in front of the front seat and once on the driver side in front of the rear seat. A towel got wet and my book bag got wet and caused my textbooks to mold. At least one headlight burns out every six months. The cost to have it replaced ranges from $60 to $80. The whole headlight assembly has to be removed to replace the light. Recently, both headlights burned out within two weeks. I realized it when I drove onto the interstate at night and couldnt see a thing. Scary. The lower front ball joints busted and had to be replaced. The overhead lining eventually came completely unglued. Have you ever come completely unglued? When it dropped down in the back, I had to pull off the road and cut it off with a pair of scissors so that I could see out the rear window. Now, the interior looks really ugly. Water started pouring out from under the front dash onto the passenger side floorboard whenever it rained. I had to take it in twice to get it fixed. If I open the back hatch when its raining or shortly after a rain, water that has collected around the rim of the hatch pours onto the back passenger seat. This may explain why cloth fabric wasnt an option for this car.Water collects in the spare tire well. I stored the owners manual there and it got soaked and covered with mold. The windshield wiper on the driver side skips and makes a loud, distracting noise. Ive tried expensive wipers, cheap wipers, VW wipers. They all skip and make an awful noise on the driver side on this windshield. Accelerating from a stop is choppy. The air conditioner doesnt get cold above 85 degrees and barely gets cold below 85 degrees. The matte coating on the door handles is peeling off as well as on the gearshift assembly. After all the water issues, the interior now smells moldy. So far, there has been one recall: to reposition a fuel supply line to prevent a fire. All the items that I listed above that required parts and labor, cost TIME or MONEY or LOST WAGES or all three to get fixed. Before you buy a VW Beetle, consider the consequences very, very, very carefully... If you bought a VW Beetle, do you hate it? If yes, why? If no, why not?

Sometime in March, 2019 I decided to bring my car in for evaluation - there was some strange rattling noise coming from the front left area around the wheel. I called the numbers listed on Island VW website and I couldnt get a hold of anyone because the line would either ring and then disconnect or go to straight to a busy line. I tried the chat on their website, but no one responded because I am guessing I was doing this at 830am. Then I called the sales number a few times and by some chance someone answered in sales and that person was the one who scheduled my appt, not the service dept. I brought my car in, I left it over the weekend for inspection, and on Sat I was called (Jimmy) and told the left axel (?) was worn off and that it needed to be replaced.I picked up my car a few days later and the next day I heard the same noise. I thought I was imagining things so I waited until my partner drove the car and said that the issue is indeed still there. I drove for another three days just to make sure we are not going to call and complain for no reason. Once established that the issue is there, I called the dealership. Same problem again. The line rings and disconnects. OR it goes to a busy signal right away. I waited another day or so and attempted again. Same issue again. I tried the chat and demanded that someone calls me. Jimmy called and I explained my problem. I said I would like to bring my car in again because the issue hasnt been resolved.I asked that they provide me with a loaner this time as my work demands me to travel from one clinic in the morning to another in the middle of the day. He said they didnt have any loaners. Then I asked them to cover for a rental that I would rent in order to get to work. He said that wouldnt work either. So I had to accommodate my schedule, wait until a weekend that I dont work to bring the car in. He agreed. At this point, while speaking with him, the phone disconnected twice!! So when he told me, Call us next week when you know when youll be able to bring the car I explained that calling their dealership is close to impossible, as evidenced by the dropped calls. He gave me his cell phone number and said to contact him there. And I did. Left a vm, waited several days and when no one called me, I decided to call Volkswagen America Customer Service, on 4/30 or 5/1. I spoke with a lady Renee who tried contacting the dealer herself. She ran into the same issue, the lines werent working. So she said she would continue to call and get back to me. On 5/1 she left a vm on my cellphone, stating that she was still not able to get a hold of them but that she would be able to schedule me an appt on the website. However, at this point I had missed the weekend I was off and I needed them to provide me with a car to get to work. She said she wouldnt be able to do that online. The next day, she called me and said her manager was able to get a hold of someone in the dealership who explained that they dont have loaner cars at that time and when one becomes available they would call me. Guess what? That call never came. At this point, I decided to call my bank and file a dispute. I have three VW at home and I will never, EVER, buy another one. I am selling them all and will be buying something else. Which is a bummer because I never had an issue with any of my cars. I bought them in Seattle, Carter VW, had the best experience with them. Everyone else related to VW was a disastrous experience.

Bought a 2017 Passat SE with tech and after 9 months began to have safety sensor problems, blind spot, forward collision and parking. Took to the dealer several times to be told it was non existent or normal. Got VWoA INVOLVED AND THEY WERE HARDLY ANY HELP. Finally after I was given a loaner with the airbag hanging from the steering wheel I was offered a trade in assistance. Traded into a 2018 Tiguan SE and have had nothing but issues since day 1, car net never worked, blind spot was faulty, transmission issues, engine power failure. Now my new car had been taken apart and been out of service 32 days in total and only has 8k miles on it, not to mention damaged from the dealer. VWoA denied my claim for buyback and now I am having to deal with lawyers to get it resolved. They really need to get their crap together and vet their dealerships employees and their representatives. Being told error codes are normal, cylinder 3 misfires are caused by bad gas, transmission hesitation/engine power loss isnt a major concern and blind spot detection, which is a safety feature, malfunctioning is no concern that it should not be relied on is unacceptable, not to mention when they hooked a scan tool to my car it shows my car has 2k more miles on it than my odometer states. Will never purchase another VW. BUYER BEWARE.

At 62k miles, my VWs coil pack ignition just failed, which is costing me about over $600. I cant believe my VW make and model wasnt part of the recall. I would appreciate VW of America to reimburse me for my disbursement because this is not fair and no other makers of cars run through such headache of mechanical failures. My car stopped in the middle of the roads and would not budged, where I could easily get killed. I also maintained all the regular maintenance required by VW. Now I have to lose a day of paid work and over $600 in repairs due to VW faulty parts.

Purchased the 2019 Passat R-Line edition on 3/2/19 and really like the styling, but that is where it ends. Three days after purchasing the vehicle, the remote start stopped working. There is a software flaw where the remote timer doesnt reset after starting the car, so once youve reached an overall total of twenty minutes the remote start never works again, as it is awaiting on an “input signal” that the car has been started non-remotely. AutoNation said it is Volkswagens problem and VW Customer Care said they know about the problem but they do not have a fix for it and that its basically my problem because it does not meet the guidelines for lemon law or VW’s policy to take the vehicle back. They said they are not pulling these vehicles from the lots because it is not a safety or mechanical issue but the dealerships are not disclosing this information either. VW Customer Care offered me $100 gift card and said they do not know when a fix will be released. Buy something else, and steer clear of VW. What good is a 7 year warranty, if they are selling cars that cant be fixed?

Have a 2012 Volkswagen CC that needs 7200.00 worth of engine work on a part that broke before it was even due to be inspected based on Volkswagen’s service maintenance guide. Called Volkswagen to see if they would cover the repair, or at least give me some kind of assistance. They basically said my warranty was up, I’m on my own. Which really surprised me. My reasoning for asking Volkswagen to make an attempt to correct this problem, was that their service maintenance guide said, “90,000 miles, timing chain and tensler should be inspected, and possibly replaced. Well my timing chain, and tensler did not make it to the 90,000 mile inspection. Which in turn destroyed my cylinder head when it broke. Leaving me with a 7,200.00 repair bill. BUYER BEWARE!!! VOLKSWAGEN CARES NOTHING ABOUT BEING FAIR, HONEST, OR TAKING CARE OF THEIR CUSTOMERS. If youre looking for a car, spend your money elsewhere.

My Clock Spring 2011 Tiguan broke about 6 months ago, I put the repair on hold, my mileage was about 109K, I have receipt from my mechanic for the 120$ I paid him to figure out what was wrong. VW has issued an extended warranty on this to 120K (IMO should be a recall), I moved so I did not receive the notice until 120,300 miles. Even with proof that it broke before and so close to the warranty date they will not honor... Seriously its the 5th VW I have owned, with all of their issues you would think they would be trying to build customer base, not alienating. This is just not right.

Altogether infuriating experience. Because I live more than an hours drive away, I made a morning appointment to take my Passat in and find out why it was leaking coolant. I expected to be able to take it home that afternoon at the very latest. I showed up a few minutes before my 11:00am appointment, and was immediately told my car could not even be looked at until 2:30pm. And that they would call me when they had news. Seriously? Why do they set appointments at all if it is meaningless? Fortunately, my husband was also in town with his car, so he picked me up and we ran a few errands. By around 4:30, I still had not heard a word from VW, so I called the service department. THEN I was told that they still had not figured it out.... probably it still had not even been looked at. So we went back up the road to home, an hour and 20 minutes north.Late the next afternoon they finally called to tell me that my car needed a new heater core that would cost almost $1,700. That, in addition to the nearly $150 they charge just to diagnose the problem. I told them Id pick it up the following day, which I did. Another trip into Springfield, more miles on my husbands car and 2 1/2 hours out of an already busy day, just to go get it. So I wrote them out an invoice of my own, charging for the extra cost on my end as a result of them not honoring my appointment time. Im sure they laughed at that... and of course they did not discount my diagnostic bill to compensate, not one penny. In the meantime, I was in touch with a local trusted mechanic that I should have gone to in the first place, who said he could install a new heater core for about $750, less than half what the VW quote was. I wont be giving Napleton VW of Springfield any more of my business, and advise anyone else to steer clear as well.

Cant believe the nerve of Volkswagen’s warranty and a slap on the hand. Dealership guys were very respectful and friendly but doing very bad illegal things again. Took my 2011 TDI Jetta under warranty to the dealership for LONG START and ACCELERATION LAG, (fuel issues). Day 2 of having my vehicle, Jason via text message asked for approval to do a fuel filter and air filter change for 185+tax. I asked wasnt FUEL FILTER covered under my warranty. Via text message, was told NO. Called corporate and was set up with an advisor (Kyle) who did not return my call before I was told to come get my car on day 3. Went to the dealership and spoke to a supervisor named Matt **. Asked him to explain what part about ENTIRE FUEL SYSTEM doesnt apply to the fuel filter. His explanation to me, maybe it was worded wrong. I am a certified MASTER tech and I bought this car for the warranty VW was offering. Couldnt believe it. Shouldnt have believed it. I have attached a copy of a page from my warranty booklet which leads us consumers buying these vehicles to believe Volkswagen has our back, not that we are buying and inheriting someone elses problem. I bought the vehicle about 4,000 miles ago and was told it needed done and asked for money for it. Since I did not get the job done, I was charged $143 this morning to get my vehicle back. I asked for a itemized list of what the tech did to diagnose my vehicle since I am paying $135+tax for diag. Was that honored? No, for 3 days my vehicle was with them and my warranty not covered. Advisors say whatever the dealership says because clearly in black and white for anyone to read ENTIRE not excluding filter, would lead you to believe it is covered, especially when the system is under high pressure and you have to prime the system so its really not a DIY for most consumers buying these vehicles. I didnt write the warranty and it should be honored. Not only that, my warranty also states conflicts concerning the warranty, are to be resolved in favor of the consumer. Volkswagen follow the law and honor your warranty and not play word games with the people you are trying to earn the trust back from. Im going to the top with my issue and litigation for selling me a vehicle under false advertising. Not only that, but I also have a warranty under the HPFP recall warranting me anything that touches gas. If I have to fight for my $143 back and my warranty honored, Im going to make sure the courts give their vehicle back to them.

Customer Care at Volkswagen is an oxymoron. We bought 2 new Jettas TDIs in 2011. We bought a new Passat in 2012. I called customer care today 3/20/2015 about a problem. They never looked up our record of being an excellent customer, never bothered to look up our vin numbers to realize how much money we spent buying their cars, never asked our names. ** (the rep at customer care) did however say, apologize for that. So as we go out this weekend to look at cars to purchase do you think we will drop by a VW dealer?

I lease the Rabbit, because the salesman stated I could buy the car after 48 months with purchase option around $8,500.00. The value was written on the contract. In the last month of my lease, I called VW to confirm the payoff - $8,500.00. So, Im going to refinance the car for purchase or trade the car. I found a Nissan. He agreed to give me $10,000.00 on trade. Its a fair deal; the VW was listed for $12-14 thousand. The Nissan dealer signed a power of attorney to procure the lease title of the VW. VW told him his payoff was $11,930.00. Now, Ive driven the Nissan off the lot. I called VW again, asking what difference it does make if the payoff check comes from me or a car dealer. They said, Dont send a check with the dealerships name on it. To make a long story short, though I could have paid off the VW myself, Nissan didnt want to wait for the title. I lost about $1,500.00 through re-negotiations plus emotional trauma. The payoff should be the payoff. Monopolizing and false advertising are illegal. Nowhere on the lease contract did it state the payoff would be different if you were trading in the car at Nissan. I found a form faxed to Nissan from Bill **. VW apparently could purchase the car for $8,500.00. If you want to trade, buy your car first. The leasing company pays all sales tax on the total price of the vehicle when you sign the lease. So if you purchase the leased car, maybe you pay tax on the $8500.00 figure. Nevertheless, look up the Illinois law definition of false advertisement. The omission or concealment of material facts on which a person relies upon when purchasing a product is hereby illegal (paraphrase). There is no way I could have known this was going to happen to me. It was not stated on the lease agreement.VW lied; they told me that at the end of the lease, I could trade the car at any dealership--Dodge, Toyota, etc.--and that VW of America would honor the purchase option price. What a crock. But how do we know when its not written in the least contract. The payoff should be the payoff. You buy a house, the payoff is the payoff. You refinance, the payoff is the payoff. I called for my payoff before I went looking for another vehicle. What VW is doing needs to be outlawed under truth in lending laws.

Brake control on the passenger side of my new VW Golf (2016) - Travelling along the M6 just overtaking when wheels locked up - managed to gain control and continue also causing myself to be slightly injured to the hand. Reason passenger pressed a lever/switch on the passengers side thinking it would open a lid. It was the parking brake which locked the wheels and nearly caused a serious accident as the controls are on the passenger side. This could happen again easily and our biggest problem: we have four children so one often sits in the front seat. This has made the wife dreading taking the car out, maybe would, could blank it off with tape or a cover while the problem is rectified? Strange that VW spend so much on research and make a fundamental design problem. It could be that a wrong console has been fitted and one from a left hand drive installed. This could be checked out by looking at a left hand drive car? Check out the showroom that all Golfs have the controls on the passenger side, I have now found out that the design fault is only on right hand cars. I think it was a money saving idea not to fit the switches on the drivers side which I pointed out to the VW person contacting me which he was not aware of. He also informed me if I do anything to try to make it safer it would void the guarantee of the car. Said there was no plans for this to be correct in the future and no more correspondence would be entered into. The incident has made my wife paranoid about having a child on the front passenger seat. I could tape up the switches or try to build a box around them but it really is a dangerous design fault. We tell passengers not to touch them when they get into the passenger seat. The incident happened on a motorway at about 70 miles per hour just as I was about to overtake. Fortunately, as I was doing an overtaking maneuver, there was no one behind me. I injured my hand on the steering wheel and twisted my neck - the pain which only lasted the rest of the day. I did contact the dealer in January who sold me the new car and reported the fault - they have contacted me and it seems that they only offer me understanding of what I experienced but said I saw what I buying in the showroom and all the VW Golfs are build like this. I did point out that was not correct and it is just the Right Hand drive models that have this arrangement. Would like to know if I am the only person that has complained or experience about this fault?

On August 21st, 2019, I went for the regular engine oil change in Volkswagen on Barnet Highway in Coquitlam, B.C. Also they offered me free pollen filter change. After a couple of hours, they called me to get my car back. On the way back I found the service reminder on the front window has not been changed. I drove back to them and asked them if whether they really did change the engine oil. If they did it, how come did they change the reminder. I really doubted it. Also they told me that they have changed the pollen filter for me today. Actually on the paper, it showed they did not change. How did that happen? Did they really do services for the customer or just fool us around? Besides, they even did not say sorry at the beginning.

I brought in my Mother-in-laws 2004 VW Touareg into the Kitchener dealership (Crosby VW) due to major rust concerns. VWs preferred auto body shop Mitek then saw it and drafted a quote which eventually VW Canada denied saying it was surface rust even though it clearly started beneath and was solidly through. I disagreed and while I was largely ignored by VW Canada my persistence eventually ended up getting me a written response but no real explanation, process or coverage and I had to take care of the $6000 repair myself. I drive a 2012 VW Golf R and I am a long term VW fan who feels very slighted. I am experienced with most forms of legal action largely due to my employment and I seriously considered legal action as I could easily take this to small claims court, but in the end I didnt feel it was worth the bother or the issues VW Canada would create. Anyway the same VW Touareg now has rust coming from beneath again on the right rear door in the same place as it occurred in the left rear door. Im guessing VW Canada will pull the same nonsense and fail to honor the warranty. I have filed a BBB complaint to which VW Canada has denied all liability. I responded with this.I do not accept the premise of this response on the grounds that: a) VW Canada cannot upon my many requests provide any supporting documentation or scientific evidence as to how this is as they call it corrosion perforation resulting from outside influences, failure to promptly repair paint damage, damaged undercoating, or surface corrosion; b) A third body panel (passenger rear door) is currently showing signs of rust from beneath the surface, but it takes many months to even get a check up to see if it is covered due to a backlog at VW. I believe that this is a deliberate attempt to present the damage as failure to promptly repair and circumnavigate VW Canada’s responsibility to honor their warranty.c) VW Canada’s response to the BBB complaint does not make effort to address the rear driver’s side door that was replaced due to rust from beneath and provided no explanation as to how it rusted nor any coverage; d) The license plate was not in contact with the tailgate until the day before inspection when I removed the plate and cover to better see the damage. I did not put the cover back on to take in into the dealership because it broke upon removal. VW Canada has made no effort to provide any evidence that this was a long-term situation. In summary I believe based on online posting investigations, that VW Canada is following a mandate issued by management to cut costs by lowering the amount of rust corrosion claims paid out.

One year ago I decided to buy a used VW. People often said, Very expensive to repair, but I heard they drive well, so took a shot. Not only are they expensive to repair but when dealing with VW customer service over what should have been a simple warranty issue, I can wholeheartedly say that I would NEVER in my right mind recommend this car manufacturer to any of my friends or family. It took VW nearly two months (and several callbacks) to come to the conclusion that they werent covering this issue, too. Ridiculous. Anyway, theres my public rant. Buy a used VW at your own risk and dont trust them to back their own warranties.

Have a 2016 Passat. Laid keys in trunk and when rain started, shut trunk, forgetting keys were in it. Doors were unlocked, but could not get trunk open with internal latch, so had car towed into dealer. Already had a previous appointment to resolve electrical issues that had been ongoing from another dealer which had not been fixed. Car had 18k miles on it. Dealer could not get trunk unlocked, so instead of fixing the internal latch at the door to open the trunk, they called a locksmith and charged us $125 for a key to unlock the trunk. Got the car home, the key to unlock the trunk did not work. There is no place to put a key in the trunk, the latch still did not work and we could not get the trunk open. Called the dealer and they refused to refund $125.Did some online research and found there is a button in the glove compartment to push which resets the trunk, pushed the button and the trunk opened. Again, advised dealer of this and the inability of their staff to fix this issue and again requested refund, again was refused. Now, they wont even respond to us. When daughter went to pick up the car and pay for what was supposed to be an oil change, she questioned the charge and they were very rude to her, caused her embarrassment and caused her to cry. Volkswagen Customer Care refuses to help since the problem is not Manufacturer. The issue started from a dealer installed LoJack system, which customer was not made aware of. Dealer will not return calls, nor will GM.

On the 19th October 2017 my Polo Gti which is still under warranty broke down at approximately 6 pm. This vehicle is currently doing 41000km and is still under warranty. My biggest concern or disappointment is that this car gave no warning and just breaks on a busy street with my family in the car. What if this car had broken down in the middle of nowhere or worst in a dangerous area putting mines and my familys life at risk?I then had to wait two hours for roadside assist to tow the vehicle away. I was told the next day by VW Umhlanga that they busy and my car will be only looked at on Monday. After phoning whoever I could I managed to get hold of service manager of VW Umhlanga who said that he will try have a look at the vehicle that afternoon.Saturday morning I got a call saying they did a software upgrade and the car is fine. 1. Why did roadside assist send a tow truck from Mount Edgecombe to tow the breakdown in Tongaat, is that the nearest breakdown services, because I know its not, I personally know a towing company in the area that is VW accredited. 2. Secondly why was the vehicle towed to Umhlanga who was clearly not willing to have a look at the car till Monday. Had I not made a fight about it, and to my knowledge VW Ballito is much closer.I am now worried as this vehicle has a warranty that ends at 45000km or next year 2018. There was no warning of it breaking and no explanations as to why it did. What if it has similar problems as soon as this warranty expires and the headache and costs of this vehicle now becomes mines. I spent 32000 rand on this vehicle and breaking down in the middle of a busy street was the last thing I expected.I am hoping VW comes up with a solution as to maybe extending this vehicles warranty and guarantee this problem never arises at all. If I do not get a reasonable solution from VW I will make sure I complain on every platform be it the ombudsmen or Hellopeter. I just think that breaking down in a vehicle that costs over 300000R without no warning and just be told by the agents its a software problem and we dont know why it has happened is unacceptable. I am hoping to get feedback from you soon.

2011 VW Golf TDI Engine Problems - So I purchased my Golf new in 2011. It has ran strong and I have had very few issues which were all very minor. After putting 70k miles on the car I had to replace something in the front end which cost around 1000 dollars. Now at 130k miles the check engine and glow plug light came on. The cars power reduced by 50%. A few miles down the road it completely shut down. Had VW conduct a diagnostics. They told me that my high pressure fuel pump HPFP had failed and contaminated my fuel system. Also the catalytic converter and particulate filter was shot. Oh yea and need to replace the water pump and fix the timing. So, the parts list was 2 pages long and the total including labor was over 8,000 dollars. Let me remind you that this car is a 2011 model, 95% highway miles and is in good condition. I have truly enjoyed driving this car and expected many more miles out of the TDI engine. I havent had the repair completed yet. It going to cost more than the damn car is worth. I have mixed emotions about owning another Volkswagen.

First off let me start by saying that I do love my 2013 Turbo Diesel Beetle
First off let me start by saying that I do love my 2013 Turbo Diesel Beetle Convertible, its the prettiest car on the road...and everyone asks me how I like it...I love it, love to drive it...love to look at it...and I take really good care of it. There are two design flaws, one is the keyless start...the other is the unfortunate placement of the hard wired iPhone charger INSIDE the glove compartment, so that if you need to charge your phone while driving you have to keep the glove compartment open. One wonders about German engineering. That said, the car gets rock star mileage and its fast. But I had to have the 10,000 mile service in Brooklyn NY because I was visiting family and could not do it in Maine. So the VW dealership in Bay Ridge Brooklyn houses a bundle of other car companies. ITs old, cramped, dirty, crowded and unpleasant. I brought in my almost brand spanking new car. I said, Im here for a 10,000 mile service, please take good care of my car. A loaner was provided and off I went. Later that day I came back to get my car. I asked for only one thing, to have the rear headrests taken off while they were servicing the car. When I got the car there were the headrests. I was told the headrests dont come off...I thought, well Ive had a few cars, Im no expert but every headrest Ive seen comes off. The service person told me, I was completely wrong that the service people pulled and pulled and they would not come out. I took out the manual, respectfully trying to show him that I not only know they come out but because there is limited rear visibility with the car, they suggest that they should come out when not needed. He said I was wrong again, I tried to show him in the manual how clearly defined the instructions for removal and how simple it was. He finally acquiesced and took the car back into the service area. Now let me ask the obvious question, IF the service guys didnt know that they could remove headrests do you think I would feel confident that my tires were correctly rotated or my oil was property changed? I think not. The car came back to me, headrests out, but soiled where the work was done. Gladly my service guy cleaned the grease...and I got into my car to leave and looked up and there on the right side of my windshield was a giant crack. Seriously. I couldnt even make this up. Now the service manager comes out. He tells me that it was a stone, how does he know this, because of the way the crack looks. Now this is coming from a person who manages people who dont know about headrests...and hes abrupt, no apologies...just aggressive...I say, but I brought in a car with no crack at 9:30 this morning and its 4:30 and theres a crack. Now can a car be serviced and not one person notices this crack...and you say it was a stone and when the car tires were rotated then it caused the crack to spread. Oh my GOD! He said hed take care of it on Monday, it was Friday. I drove my car home as the crack spread. I called him many times but he did not call me back. Finally Monday I got in touch with him and brought my car in. Guess what!!! No windshield on Monday, No windshield on Tuesday and No windshield on Weds (until Weds eve) why? Because they told me that it was not in stock at the auto glass people, then Tuesday the one they got in had a crack, and they had decided not to install a cracked glass (really?), and then today Weds I could get my car...but guess what - now they were not honoring the agreement that there would be no deductible, because they did not realize that my insurance was out of State...MY PLATES ARE FROM MAINE. Not one person really looked at my car. I hesitate with this statement but as soon as I leave NY and head back to Maine, Im going to have another dealer check and see if the tires were indeed rotated and the oil was changed, and if so if its all proper. Id be terrified to bring my car there again. They are so hard on the cars, they dont listen, they over talk you and they are obviously not knowledgeable about VWs. Its very sad to see this. I am surprised VW allows this kind of service representation. I have no recourse, the dealer is going to split the deductible with me. How can I fight this, I just want to return the loaner and have my car back and get out of there. I could have brought my car to any auto glass company ... but brought it back there because - well I must be crazy to have thought that it would go smoothly. Anyway, beware this dealership if you have a VW.

I worked with Ryan ** online and through text to get a deal set up due to the distance to the dealership. I was very clear that I was looking for a clean vehicle, and explained in detail about experiences at other dealerships that I did not want to happen again. Although really wouldnt budge on their internet price, we came to an agreement. I stressed my requirements of the car being clean, paint being in top condition. I was very clear that needed to know about any and all flaws before I made the drive, because it is a long drive and I would have a baby with me, and hoped to have paperwork and everything prepared as much as possible before I arrived. I was assured it was flawless, that everything would be ready. Upon arrival, the vehicle was not up to the expectation set by my conversations with the salesman. The rear bumper was not attached properly, visibly loose and not aligned. The paint was swirled badly and had many scuffs and scratches, all of which could be easily repaired with a simple buff and polish. Two of the tires had moderate sidewall damage. The drivers door handle was missing a plastic cover; the metal lock cylinder was exposed. The interior was barely clean; the tan leather seats were mildly dirty and wiped in the main visible areas only, any deeper investigation revealed dirt and grime. The driver’s seat had a poorly done tear repair that did not match the color, looking like a light coffee stain in about a 6 square area. I requested that these things be taken care of before purchase. They were only willing to attach the bumper properly and order the cover for the door handle. Moe ** was the sales manager throughout the process. He was somewhat passive aggressive and combative, as well as slightly condescending. There was a distinct feeling that my requests were ridiculous and that I was just trying to drive the price down. I was told multiple times that they could not go any lower or spend any money fixing the vehicle, even though I never once requested a price adjustment, simply asked that the expectation set during my communications with the salesman be upheld. In the end I purchased the vehicle because I like it, not because it was a good deal; I will still have to invest to have the paint mechanically corrected, the leather seat repaired and interior cleaned, and purchase two tires. The process took 4 hours, plus 3 hours of drive time. The dealership is very nice, Coffee, water and bagels are available. The parking area was not large enough for the volume of customers there. I was given my choice of nice VW keychains upon completing the paperwork.

My daughter bought this 2014 Tiguan and paid as much as a small house for it. 2.0 turbo engine. With 88,000 Kms (53,000 miles) on it now it will hardly haul itself in cold temperatures, jerking and misfiring with a PO300 code RANDOM MISFIRE. Have replaced camshaft sensor, all 4 coils, spark plugs, mass airflow sensor TWICE, sprayed carbon cleaner into intake head to try to clean carbon from valves that is a HUGE problem with these Volkswagens. Spent hundreds of dollars trying to find the problem....VW dont know....NO ONE knows. Going in next week for yet ANOTHER sensor try...I bought a new 2006 Honda Civic that was just nicely broke in at 50,000 miles. At 150, 000 miles not KMs I had to do the brakes, that was the FIRST TIME I done ANY repairs on that car....VERY FIRST THING DONE. STAY AWAY FROM ANYTHING WITH VW ON IT...STAY AWAY...STAY AWAY!! Just do a little reading about these lemons online...STAY AWAY....YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED and you had better heed it, I cant type stay away enough times!

BUYER BEWARE!!!! My wife and I have been leasing a VW Tiguan for the last 2 years and recently experienced a nightmare of an an issue. A recent monthly payment was not pulled from her bank accurately and instead of contacting me, the lessor, it became delinquent and they reported to the credit agencies. After several dispute letters explaining the issue, they just deny...deny...with no explanation!! I call VW customer service who explains that the Credit department does not have a phone #, so you cant even talk to the person that handles the issue. Thank you VW for ruining my excellent 15 year credit history! I will be sure to never do business with this organization again and make it my personal mission to tell others to do the same.

I own a Tiguan. Its my 5th VW. This time I bought the trailer hitch addition to the MSRP for $550 new to pull a trailer. I knew I would be pulling a small trailer & ATV under 1500 lbs very infrequently. This package came with the 7 pin wiring harness so one would expect it to actual work trailer lights. I go to hook up the trailer, see the wiring harness but cant figure out how to hook it up. They had me bring it in and tried to hook it up. I then found out I had to spend an additional $400 to reprogram the entire vehicle, add a control module, & mounting hardware. I worked for VW for years & loved the product. I have referred many friends and family to VW. That has now changed. I gave them a chance to help out with the extra cost and they flat out denied to help even in a small amount. This put a very sour taste in my mouth and I will never refer another person to them. Emich is a great dealership but go to their Chevy store not VW. Volkswagen is a greedy, cheating, company that nickel and dimes their clients for any little thing they can. Never again will buy their product & will do everything to advise others against it as well. I dont think it is crazy to expect a 7 pin wiring harness to actually work the one purpose it is designed to work.

The fire department arrived and put the fire out before anyone was harmed, but my Beetle was totally destroyed. I have heard of other Beetle fires and am concerned for others.

I bought my wife her second Golf. It was a brand new 2010 model made in Mexico. Her first Golf was made in Germany but it did have some problems with the A/C compressor clutch at 10K miles, instrument cluster light flickers, inoperable stereo and consistent brake issues. Now onto the Mexican made Golf nightmare. During the first 6K miles my wife has been stranded three times. Transmissions electrical and mechanical component failure. A/C compressor failure at 7K miles, window regulator driver side at 9K miles, another one on passenger side at 11K miles, rear windows completely inoperable at 14K miles, rear defroster inoperable, driver door failed to unlock, exterior window rubber seals distorted resulting in leaks, stereo digital display failure, and of course, numerous engine light ups. The craftsmanship was horrible. Loose, shakes, rattles and mysterious noises. Service techs blame VWs Mexico plant for being in production start-up mode. Thats an unacceptable excuse. I dont recall Honda, Toyota or Nissan selling junk because of production transfer. Regardless of all the cheap and stupid excuses VW created, the Golf is long gone; thanks to a lease we broke early. I feel terribly bad for the next owner. Based on numerous reviews and data from reliable agencies, VW seems to continue in producing hit-or-miss cars. Two Golfs were enough to deter my wife in ever touching another VW product. Too bad for her because she loved Golfs. She has since bought a new Rav4, against my recommendation, and loves it. She has put 45,000 miles with absolutely NO ISSUES. Not a single problem.

In March 2016 I experienced my first issue with not being able to open my trunk, took it into a VW Dealership for service and found the root cause to be the trunk wire harness, lucky I had an extended warranty, my out of pocket expense was $300. Now, its January 2018 the same problem just happened again right after I spent $1300 for maintenance. My comment and concern is that I would not expect to have an ongoing issue with my trunk and backup lights not working because a trunk wire harness keeps breaking. In particularly because I dont use my trunk on a daily basis. Wondering if this is a design flaw? I love my 2011 VW CC, it performs well and so far hasnt given me any major problems (have had it for 3 years). Of course, I have to make an appointment and get it fixed. I wish there was something that could be done with the trunk harness to prevent it from breaking. If anyone has any ideas, I would appreciate it if you would share it.

I’ve never bought a brand new car and wasn’t able to get a loaner vehicle when there’s a warranty issue. I’ve never had this experience with BMW or Mercedes or any other new car that I’ve owned in my entire life. If the car breaks be prepared to not have a car, for however long it takes him to fix it. Worst warranty program ever. I will never buy another VW EVER AGAIN. I’m receiving safety recall notices in the mail but can’t get them fixed. The dealerships will only drive you 10 miles from the dealer and I live more than 10 miles away from a dealer. This is the worst experience I’ve ever had with the new car.

I am in disgust that the VW buyback has not been handled properly or expeditiously for overseas military personnel. As a veteran and an overseas teacher for the Military, we deserve better treatment than you have given us and as like many infectious diseases and viruses, word spreads at the same rate! I hope that word of your treatment spreads like wildfire regarding your service and lack of support for the U.S. Military. I will surely do my part in this matter.Form after form appears to be a stall tactic! The public information on the VW website stated that VW would take care of military personnel and shipping costs would be taken care of by VW. Ha! I have just paid approximately $3700 for shipping costs from S. Korea to Texas and hope that I receive a refund! At the rate of your response for email and other documents, I will probably be in my grave before I realize any reimbursements!

Tried to go on their website. Malfunctioning. Frustrated, called the dealer where I bought it, they said bring it to them. I was penalized 400.00 for not buying another vw, even though they raised the price 8k on the same car no improvements, ridiculous!!! Then assessed another 400 for excessive wear. I refused to pay vw credit. They threatened to turn me into a collection agency which would ruin my credit. Funny thing is I had a body shop touch up the entire car before returning, I inspected it. Had Michelins on it in good shape. Read their lease before you sign, I will never buy a VW again.

Mind you, they never called me nor did they call the dealer. I called them because they owe me $2,400 that I overpaid. They refuse to refund my money and continue to claim that I owe them. My engine died on my car with only 73000 miles on it. I was told the balance shaft seized up with no reason why while I was driving it. Luckily I was not in an accident as my car just died in the middle of the intersection. When I called the VW headquarters, they said since it was out of warranty they would not financially assist in any way, despite the low miles and regular maintenance. Recently, I bought a used 2008 VW Rabbit from a private party. 2013-14 was my first winter with the Rabbit. Until my ownership the Rabbit had been garage kept. Turns out there is a VW design flaw. VW acknowledges how to repair the issue, however does not acknowledge there is a problem. Therefore, offers no recourse to accommodate VW Rabbit owners. How is this possible? How is this denial helpful? Snow and ice build up in the door jambs, over long winter months. The simple action of opening a door is meet with resistance when snow and ice accumulate due to poor drainage. The lower front corners of the doors bend out. In addition, the paint cracks and peels. Thus, rendering a well maintained VW Rabbit blemished and susceptible to rust.As the dealership nearest to my home, I had every intention of having the vehicle serviced at New Motors Volkswagen. So, I brought The VW Rabbit in for advice. I found them all too willing to shrug off the issues I am having by averting the lack of accountability and blame off on corporate, with the customary response, This is out of our hands. Indeed, it is a corporate matter - all the same it is a product they sell, they service and subsequently endorse. It would have gone a long way with me and my overall perception of Volkswagen had they shown genuine concern and support. Local dealerships are the corporate cornerstone in each community. The lack of aid, comfort and cooperation exhibited by this Volkswagen dealership is indicative of the exact type of behavior we can expect from Volkswagen Corporate themselves. Ultimately, the dealership apple doesnt fall far from the corporate tree. Clearly, Volkswagen has no consideration for the consumers of their products - why wouldnt their dealerships embrace the same cold policies?Understanding I am not the original owner, understanding the so-called warranty has expired and understanding the vehicle has been introduced to weather conditions and storage conditions it has not faced in its previous years, should I, the consumer who entrusted my savings, my earnings and my faith in the Volkswagen product, be left out in the cold? It appears that is exactly what Volkswagen Corporate and its fledgling dealerships are doing. Taking advantage of hardworking people such as myself, who are too small to contest the mighty corporate injustices of Volkswagen. Volkswagen is treating myself and every one of its consumers as simple-minded prey by selling inferior products without certitude and without aegis. Volkswagen will NOT take responsibility or offer any assistance.Unlike Volkswagen, I can admit when I have made a mistake. By purchasing my 2008 Volkswagen Rabbit, I have certainly displayed an egregious lapse in judgement. Without a doubt, Volkswagen is not a company driven by consumer satisfaction, or superior products, but rather a company driven by bottom line profit margins. Thank you Volkswagen for correcting me.

They said that they sold a lot of these cars and only my car and one other had this issue, this is a lie, from the research and from speaking with a Customer Care Manager, all the R Lines experience this problem. These people should be ashamed of themselves, for being so dishonest. I would not buy another VW if someone paid me to, and for anyone considering this brand run for the hills. You enter the remote start sequence and the engine runs for 1 second and then turns off. How could they not be aware of this issue before they put this car on the market.

Volkswagen shouldnt be sold in the US. The customer service is awful and the warranty means nothing. I traveled to Michigan for a quick vacation. The car broke down hours away from my destination. Get a towing truck through road assistance was almost impossible. My car was sent to a dealership 2 hours away from where I was staying. 12 hours later I received a call to let me know they got my car and they were going to inspect it in 1 week, I was staying there for only 2 days. After spending 7 hours on the phone, I decided to take a taxi to get a rental car (the closest rental was 1 hour and a half away). Volkswagen couldnt provide me a loaner/rental. I had to paid for everything. Everybody I talked to over the phone told me to contact the trip interruption department. After spending 200 dollars in a taxi, I get a call that the car was ready. According to them, the car was not fixed correctly at the dealership in Chicago (Volkswagen Irving Park Chicago). Took another taxi the other way, another $200. Once I got there, the Muskegon Volkswagen rep told me the following: We reconnected a hose that they forgot to connect when they replace the crankshaft sensor in Chicago... Please note the car has only 25K miles and broke a few weeks before this. They charged me because a different Volkswagen made a mistake but trip interruption was going to take care of this. Long story short, I made it back to Chicago, mailed all the receipts as they told me to do and today I got a call to let me know the case was declined. This is not money related, I dont care about the money but I can tell that Volkswagen customer service is awful... In Muskegon, in Chicago... Everywhere... even the customer CARE. I dont understand how they do business with this poor customer care. Definitely, not buying a Volkswagen again. On top of that I bought the extended warranty!!! STAY AWAY FROM VW CHICAGO IRVING PARK... STAY AWAY FROM VW MUSKEGON... STAY AWAY FROM VOLKSWAGEN...

I own two VW vehicles, one is a VW Eurovan that recently have to replace 4 tires because they were splitting. According to my local VW dealer Dick ** they dont deal with tires. After I complain, they agree to check with their tire supplier and agree that the tires have some splitting due to some defects. Two weeks later I still waiting for the service manager to give me a resolution to this problem. After I contact him by email he respond, That is very typical waiting process. They forgot that when I purchase the tires at the dealer I paid in FULL. So far my tires went to the supplier on May 20th 2016, no answer yet.My next one is about my VW Jetta Wolfsburg Radio. Yesterday my radio stop working, no sound or power. I went online to check if there is a solution to this problem like a bad fuse and to my surprise I found out that this problem with the radio is very normal. Today I call VW of America and they say that unfortunately my car warranty expired and I have to fix this radio out of pocket. I exposing that to a VW customer that is been buying cars for more than 14 years is a shame to hear such a poor customer services. I was just thinking about buying a new VW Touareg. Beware of the scam Half off the oil change. It looks like they might be putting half the oil!!! From day one always service my vehicle with Volkswagen. No one besides Volkswagen dealerships shop serviced my vehicle. A few days ago the car stopped on the freeway while driving. Lucky no one was hurt. When insurance inspector got back to me they stated that the cause of the accident was Engine fail due to zero oil in Engine. The engine had turned black inside and there was no sign of an oil change done for months. Which is not true. Also no sign of any leakage. None of the service light ever came on indicating that there was something wrong with the vehicle! The vehicle even states that Im not due for an oil change yet! When I called VW they gave me the runaround basically telling me that even though the car is not due for an oil change for another 2000 mile or months their hands are tied. Because The vehicle has too many mileage (94000) and to old (2011). But they would be happy to forward my complaint to the dealer that did my oil change. They didnt even offer to have my car inspected by one of their shop. Thought I was saving when I got that offer in the mail half off my oil change. Which now is going to cost me a new engine!

This is the second brand new VW GTI I have purchased. The first one I bought in 2012 had its fair share of issues but everything was covered under warranty and getting the car repaired was mildly painless (could not get rental/loaner car while repairs were made). Despite my better judgment on the reliability issues concerning the first VW I purchased I went ahead and purchased the more expensive (automatic DSG) version of the GTI for 2015. I have had numerous issues with the car including mechanical failures, cosmetic failures, and water leaking into my vehicle right through both of the rear doors. I cannot be relieved of my issues and the manufacturer (Volkswagen) will do nothing to help me (The consumer). It is surprising to me especially after the whole VW Diesel thing that VW will not even try to reach out to help the existing customer base they have left here. Needless to say I will be trading my car in (doors still leak after four or five attempts to repair to no avail). I will never be buying a Volkswagen again or recommending one to anyone I know. The second dealer I had attempt to repair my doors actually damaged both of my rear doors in the process and scratched my vehicle. If youre considering buying a VW then DONT. I honestly would recommend them despite the problems I had IF the customer service wasnt so poor. I am truly disappointed with my purchase and will think about this mistake I have made for years to come. The image I have included is the water leaking into my rear door. (This cannot be corrected despite the numerous attempts from two different authorized VW dealerships) Mind you this is nearly a brand new car with less than 16000 miles.

The first day I drove my new 2019 Tiguan SEL home, I opened the passenger driver-side door and the handle got stuck and would not go back in...Made an appointment for 2-days later to get this fixed. During the 2-day waiting period, I was stopped in a turning lane on a four-lane, lighted road to make a u-turn. When I hit the gas pedal to go the car jerked forward, and went to a standstill for about 5-seconds while my foot was firmly pressing the gas pedal. This caused the two oncoming vehicles to have to screech to a stop; and the vehicle in the middle lane had to swerve to avoid hitting me and spin out. When the Tiguan started moving forward, I had to pull over because I was shaking. The same issue happened again the next day, but no oncoming cars were in sight.Went in for the door appointment, I told the service rep about engine and asked to speak to a manager. An assistant manager came out, I told him about the engine, and he respond thats a VW and gave me a hug and two free t-shirts. New door handle had to be ordered due to corrosion, had to come back 3-days later to have it fixed. During those 3-days, the passenger seat seat belt warning sound started randomly going off, along with the airbag light flashing above the hazard light when my handbag was on the seat. Reported that and the engine issue again at next appointment. Had to leave the car for two days...At pick-up was told everything was tested fine, but VW did not bother to test the seat sensor. Was instructed to not put anything on the passenger seat, as stated in the cars manual.I was in tears telling VW of Naples dealership that I felt totally unsafe but they would not help me get another vehicle and told me to get back into this vehicle. So I contacted Volkswagen corporate to request a new vehicle, or to let me out of my lease...Denied. Both VW corporate and Naples, FL dealership did not care about my safety at all, nor that I was obviously an unhappy customer. Money should never come before safety, so I paid to get out of my lease. This is a deadly safety issue.

I LOVED my car. I loved VW. My purchase experience and countless visits for maintenance through the years were nothing but superb. I bragged about VW to my friends. I planned to buy another VW when my current Jetta needed replaced. However.... two weeks ago I noticed the headliner on the roof of my car was pulling away from the center light and in the back. This was a part of the car that should not fail. I only have 63,000 miles on the car. I have kept it parked in garages both at home and work. The climate is only humid in Georgia in the summer, this isnt Florida or Hawaii. There is no reason this piece should fail. I contacted VW and they outright REFUSED to give me anything towards this repair. They claim my car is too old. SEVEN years is TOO OLD?!? So they expect their customers to replace their cars every 5 years or something? Thats absurd. Ive taken good care of my car this entire time. I planned on it lasting another 3 years and they wont cover a $600 repair? Nope. They would rather lose the 25K purchase they would have gotten from me for my next car. Good riddance VW.

I bought brand new Volkswagen 2010 from dealership in Kansas City. It was serviced regularly by the VW dealers. One evening, I came back from the work, parked the car in my driveway and next morning, the car would not start. I towed the car to the service center at the dealership and they say it needs a new motor. A 74K mile Volkswagen needs a new motor. I asked the reason and the service manager says oil level was low in the car and the car if out of the warranty now. This car was service by VW dealer in Lees Summit before 3 months of the breakdown, its Check Engine indicator never got turned on, the car does not consume oil and all of a sudden the engine failed. The service center says they serviced the car properly, dealership says its out of manufacturers warranty and I am stuck with this expense of $11000. The car does not have a single dent on its body, its trim, interior is all like a new car but the engine is bad. After spending enormous time talking to the dealership, service center, VW area manager, district manager and all, we concluded that this is the last Volkswagen in my life. And me and my entire family has become a great anti-Volkswagen advocate. Absolutely shameless managers, irresponsible service center and liar manufacturer. The deception/lie that Volkswagen did on the diesel cars will affect you as a regular fuel Volkswagen car owner when it comes to trading in your car for something other than the bad reputation VW now. Be prepared to be ** when you get your trade in value as the dealerships are going to give you “Auction” since no one trusts VW anymore. They are concerned that if they were deceitful with the diesel, what’s to stop VW from making false claims about the gas VW’s. I have a 2015 VW Passat Limited, in excellent condition, financed for 4 yrs at 0% financing and my trade is worth $7,500 at “Auction” per the other than VW dealerships (Dec 23, 2016), I have NEVER been upside down on trading in a vehicle before, and note, this isn’t upside down, this is **, over $7k upside down. And NO, I don’t want another VW!! One very upset VW owner that has a worthless vehicle now due to their false claims on the diesel.
