Buy Lexus Automobile 2025 Lexus LX
I own a RX 330 which I take pride in servicing and has always relied on Lexus to do all my services even though they are twice as expensive. December 2013, I spent over $3000.00 in service charge of which included four new tires. I had a flat on the road that was not repairable. I called Lexus dealership in east Hartford, Connecticut. I was told that the new tires I had bought has no warranty. I asked why wasnt I told that at the time of purchase so I could at least make an informed decision to purchase or not. I got the runaround from customer service after holding on the phone for at least twenty five minutes. I was desperate so I asked about giving me a discount on another tire. They denied me that also. I ended up buying another tire from another vender in desperation. I pursued the matter and filed a complaint with Lexus headquarters who did not help the situation any but told me they are not in the tire business and there is nothing they can do for me. Mind you, this is only less than three months after purchasing four new tires. My plan was to purchase my next car from Lexus but with this experience, Infiniti or Acura is looking like a better choice. They so refuse to take responsibility for numerous customer complaints about headlights fogging up.
All of this is well-documented and all Im doing here is piling on. I have a 2012 RX-350 which is a wonderful car for the most part, but it has a useless nav/phone system that really never works. The phone dumps, saved numbers and it generally sucks. Lexus wont even listen to me when I explain at the dealership (Fresno Lexus), because they either dont care, or know the problem cant be fixed and merely follows the corporate talking points.
Lexus offers several hybrids and sedans and many other models for every taste. There are family and sport models as well. The cars have a very attractive look. Not too flashy but sleek. Sound system was excellent, comfort level was excellent, included GPS and other electronic assist features. Some upgrade options existed but I found the models that were available to me to be fine. There was a sound system upgrade that I considered but I was happy with the sound system that was standard. Plus theres plenty of room for four people. Ive never sat in the back of my vehicle but I have ridden with my wife in the back of a friends similar model and found no issues. Overall, a fine purchase.
I purchase a new 2018 Lexus 350RX three weeks ago. I am extremely disappointed in the Navigation System. First, it seems to take several minutes before the car connects to the service. I asked for direction to a well known business, and was told they could not find it. Please hang up and try again. I tried again, this time they could not find the business, but worse they could not locate my car. Asked if I was near the airport! No it was not. What if this was an emergency and they can’t find me!Yesterday, asked for directions to a Civic Arts Theater, they had the correct address but the nav. system took me to a residential, dead end street. I could see the theater but could not get to it. It wasn’t even the correct street. Again, asked for a restaurant by name - it took me to a location on a freeway. I could see the restaurant from the freeway, and eventually found it. Now, I use Waze. This system doesn’t come close to OnStar.
I purchased my first Lexus in the Spring of 2017. Everything was fine until the temperature started to drop & I would hear a loud screeching sound when coming to any stop sign. At first I thought that the brakes were bad... But after getting several opinions from the Lexus Dealership and a few others. I was told that this is a common issue and theres nothing that can be done until Lexus upgrades their brake pads/brakes & that I will be put on the list. Not only is this disappointing because I thought highly of Lexus before but this is extremely EMBARRASSING. I feel as if Im driving a 89 Pinto. Whenever I make a stop you can hear the loud screeching. Never will I buy a Lexus again!!! Also the Lexus Enform Remote start never works. I like in the Midwest with extreme temperatures below 0. Disappointed that I had to pay extra for something that never works!
Even 1 star is too much of a rating for this company. We were treated with full disrespect by some unprofessional sales persons in South County Lexus. The contract we signed for a leased vehicle was not clear/transparent for all the HIDDEN fees/charges. VERY POOR customer service even when we reached out to higher level executives to report all these issues. No-one in this company CARE or VALUE customers business and all they think about is HOW to GET your money! Thats all... This definitely was our very last Lexus product and we make sure to convince all of our clients, family and friends to take their business somewhere else where they respect and value customer. The fact that Lexus Executive Office and Lexus Financials could not do anything to resolve the issue we had is embarrassing. Now we know not to fall for a fake/inferior brand in automobile industry!
I purchased a used RX 350 at Tri-County Lexus. I was hoping to get a new Vehicle in the next few month, but after seeing the RX 350, I was very impressed (Though used, looked like new), and salesman Louis ** was very helpful in answering all my questions and making the purchase very enjoyable. And once I drove the vehicle, with the price we negotiated, I knew I needed I got a great vehicle. The whole staff was great, and very helpful.
We leased a new 2018 NX300 at the beginning of April 2018 in Kingston Ontario Canada this year and in August while driving to town my wife hit a deer taking out the grill and camera, etc. It is now November and its still not fixed. The reason: parts on backorder. How can a brand new vehicle have parts on backorder? First a fog light, then an electronic component for the lane departure. The list goes on. Four months to repair a vehicle due to parts on backorder. The local dealer wont answer my emails, wont answer my phone calls all because Im getting upset with how this is handled and the length of time it takes. Not to mention Im paying a lease on a vehicle we cant access. We made the mistake of leasing two Lexus vehicles but I promise this will be rectified when the lease concludes. ILL NEVER LEASE ANOTHER LEXUS ANYTHING.
Lexus has a lot of nice cars to offer. It was either the 350 or a LFA. I also like their SUVs and their hatchbacks. The people at the dealership were very nice in helping me find my dream car and they have a lot of packages that you can put on your car. There is the race package, the performance package, and the street package. You can also choose what radio you have. Their car looks very nice and also looks really expensive. The rims look really cool and the nice dark silver I got on my car looks really nice. You can fit a lot of your friends in the back of this car wherein I had to make 7 people fit in it. Thanks to all of the wonderful room in the car.
Lexus offer sedans for families, sports sedans for the young at heart and SUVs for families and or winter driving. You can choose the model that best suits your needs. These cars are total luxury. Everything from how it drives to its attention to detail. The numerous upgrades make the Lexus the only choice for someone who wants luxury paired with driving excellence. Even if choosing the base model, you will be surrounded in excellent craftsmanship. The interiors are beautiful, that paired with how they drive make it the perfect vehicle. Love it. Wouldnt own anything else.
I purchased a new 2015 RX450h from a Lexus Dealership in MO in mid-December. I had the opportunity last month to observe my vehicle with the headlamps on. To my surprise, the headlamp covers are badly distorted. I took my vehicle back to the dealership only to discover that all the Lexus on the showroom floor had the same problem. I contacted Lexus and received 2 emails and 1 phone call explaining that its the way they are made and they are not looking for a fix. This is a real problem and maybe even a safety issue as the vehicle ages. Im extremely disappointed in the quality of the headlamp covers and that Lexus does not care about the product they put on the market. If you have a 2015 or 2016, take a look at your headlamps when on!
Many different models to pick from and they had all the styles I was interested in and test drove all of them till I picked the one I wanted to buy. It had all the features I was looking for in the car. They told me if they did not have the car on hand that I wanted they could find it for me in a matter of days. I went over all the options that were available to me and after listing them all out we had to find the right car in the right color. There was not too much time to pick out the right car and I was very lucky that the dealership had the car in stock that I wanted to buy from them at that time. Then we discussed the pricing.

Needed a car that could fit myself and a family, as well as that familys belongings. Lexus was good enough for that. We can go on road trips no problem. The car was good for my usage since I drive kids around and needed a roomier car for store trips and baby seats. The car itself drives with decent mileage too. It isnt the best looker on the market but its decent enough that it wont get you strange looks or people calling you names at least. There were a few customization options when I bought it, such as extra cup holders and auto locking. It was before you could install built in GPSes or other fancy things.
I had an oil leak under my 2003 Lexus GX 470. I was told it was from the transfer case and electronic actuator. The cost to repair would be $2,000 because it required 20 hours of labor to replace a seal. I told them to forget it. I went on the Internet and found similar problems other owners were having--same type of $2,000 charge.I found one person who said that he did the repair himself, described the procedure and took pictures. It was a simple O-ring replacement in the electronic actuator. I crawled under my car, took my own pictures and compared them to his pictures. The leak looked similar. I took the instructions and pictures to a local repair shop, not Lexus.I went over the information with the owner and he said it looks pretty simple. He put my car on a lift, raised it, removed 3 bolts and slid off the actuator. The O-ring was bad. Lexus did not have an O-ring in stock but Toyota did, which was the same part number. The O-ring was $5.00. Lexus was probably charging $20.00. He replaced the O-ring and reinstalled the actuator in less than one hour. This $2,000, 20-hour labor job took one hour and cost me just $85.85. Now, that makes me feel good but very angry at the same time, knowing how I could have been ripped off. I just want to let the public know that you should do some investigation on the Internet before making a high dollar commitment. You might find an answer that will save you thousands of dollars.
I purchased an alleged 2016 lexus gs-350 from lexus of riverside on 4/29/2016. I reported a navigation defect to them in less than two weeks. They did nothing for 6 1/2 weeks and finally sent a dealership car and service tech. We drove both my car and dealership car. In go home mode it took us in a round-about manner to a dead end road in a different zip code. Both my car and dealership car failed and went to dead end road but I took my garmin gps in dealer car and it worked perfectly. The dealership refused to do anything and referred this problem to their lexus/toyota headquarters in Torrance, ca. The clerk at the headquarters said we would be put in a queue which would take 4 weeks.I spent hours researching, driving, photographing, documenting and sending over 30 emails to them but just got a letter giving me an assignment to send them documents they already had. I also called their 800# - useless. You get some clerk who only gives a first name and never gives you a case number. I have 1 week left for the 4-week queue, so will probably have to sue them since there is no available for this serious problem and they just delay hoping you go away.Next I photographed the navigation screen which shows that the navigation micro sd card is dated 8/1/2015 (gen 8) which according to their published literature is only for a 2015 gs-350. At this writing, the card will be 1 year old in 2 weeks and the service manager told me they usually come out around October for about $169. So either lexus sold me a 2015 and changed the date to 2016 or they are using old parts. I had leased 4 lexus ls series before - 1990, 1995, 1999 & 2004. The 2004 was terrible and constantly needed repairs. So I left lexus. But I read the glowing reports by consumer reports and tried the 2016 gs-350 due to its alleged safety features - big mistake.
I have a 2010 ultra premium Lexus 350 that has been causing me and my wife stress! Dont buy this vehicle. It is a lemon. There were winding noises in the steering column in the first year that were occurring intermittently. Lexus wont service you until they hear the noise or ** hits the fan. So, telling me that Im imagining things, a few days later at a stop sign, I hear a loud winding sound growing louder and louder under the car, like the car was going to explode and then crack! No noise, but what the hell happened. I told Lexus about what happened and they said that they fixed the problem with a new drive shaft and some other repairs. So I believed problem solved. No Way! Since that repair I have been to two Lexus dealerships and servicing that winding noise so much that I have lost count. Just the other day, my wife and her friends were going to the movies, when they all heard a grinding noise from the steering column than a cracking sound. The noise went away and back to the dealership again. But before going back to the dealership, I called Lexus Canada to file an official complaint because I have had enough and the fact that my 5-year-old son who rides in the vehicle is also recovering from cancer and his safety is at stake. When you drive a vehicle that the steering column makes winding, grinding and cracking noises, enough is enough! The car is at 57000 kilometers right now and enduring this for almost 40000 is the most stressful driving experience since my 2000 Jaguar S-type.They just told me that their is no official similar complaint in North America, but before that, the people working there shared with me that the company knows but has not made anything official because they need some more time. Now that I made the official complaint, they know nothing and say there is nothing wrong with the car? Are they ** crazy! Im ready to stand in front of the dealership with a lemon the size of the car and ** it. Not only are they lying to my face but they dont mind putting my family in harms way until the marketing department and engineers find a cost effective way out. Its sad how the dealers service people. All suffered memory loss at the same time I wanted a solution or the problem fixed. They say everything is okay in USA/CANADA. I guess just like the Fukushima nuclear power plant in Japan. Great job, Lexus! You have unbeatable customer care with a ** product.
I leased a new 2014 Lexus IS 250 in July of this year. On December 2, I was driving in a Walgreens parking lot at less than 5 mph, when I turned the wheel to enter a parking space. The car accelerated, the brake didnt work and the car jumped into a planted median full of bushes, trees, and narrowly missed a phone pole by less than 1/2 foot. Only the mud in the median stopped the car. Naturally, I called Lexus and a tow truck was sent. Since that time, the Lexus dealership, JM Lexus, has had that car, inspecting it until December 10, when they called stating that there is nothing wrong with the car and that I should come and pick it up. Absolutely no information was given to me about test results, incorrect information was given to me about anticipated contact dates by Lexus corporate, and even management at the dealership appears to want to avoid any further discussions. In my conversations with Lexus corporate, they have provided minimal information and said the issue has been turned over to legal. In the meantime, I am driving a car that I am petrified to drive. It appears that it will take a product liability lawyer to intervene on my behalf.
The new ES350 Lexus has a problem that drains battery. Defective vehicle. Drained battery in a day even after shutting off car. The app lexus has proof when the car gets shut off. New car and already problems after one month of owning it.
I purchase new cars about every 3 yrs, This Lexus is the best value I have ever gotten for my money, I find no need to ever go back to any other manufacture, the quality, features, handling is by far better than any of my other experiences... I do not usually spend money on upgrades, but I like this car so much I just had ceramic coating applied last week. The technician had told me the Lexus has the thickest and best paint of most cars...It turned out amazing!
I brought my wife’s 2002 in for regular service to Palm Beach Lexus. It needed tires and some maintenance, which I authorized. After doing the initial work that I had authorized for around $2,500 they sent me an estimate for approximately $8,500 for items they said also needed repair. One of the items they claimed was faulty, was the engine mounts. Since the car only had 66,000 miles on it, I found that hard to believe since they had replaced the engine mounts previously when the car had about 38,000 miles. My wife and I have been Palm Beach Lexus customers for around 20 years and we have purchased 4 Lexus SUVs from them. We have had good service up until 2-3 years ago when they changed service managers, since then the service has gone downhill. We then took the vehicle to an independent repair shop to see what additional service was actually needed. They came to the conclusion that 50% of the estimate that Palm Beach Lexus gave us, was not at all necessary. They claimed the engine mounts were in like new condition and many of the other items on the estimate were absolutely not necessary. I obviously was upset and called Lexus Guest Experience Center and spoke to Eric ** a case manager. He said that since the vehicle was out of warranty they couldnt and wouldn’t do anything to help and he did not seem at all concerned that the Lexus dealership was inflating estimates. He said since we were good Lexus customers he would give us a $1,500 three month Good Will Offer to purchase or lease another Lexus. I received and filed the Good Will email offer because I was planning on turning in my 2016 RX450H for a new vehicle. Two months later I started shopping for a new Lexus at a different dealership because I was not about to use Palm Beach Lexus. When I looked at the Good Will Offer the expiration date was dated the same date I spoke to the case manager (Eric **). I again called Lexus Guest Experience and ended up speaking with someone else. I told that person I was very disappointed that no one ever followed up on my original claim regarding the false estimate I was give from Palm Beach Lexus. And to make matters worse I was also given a Good Will Offer that expired in one day. That person told me I had to speak with Eric ** the original case manager and he would call me back. Eric ** called me back a few days later and seemed to have a bad attitude. I told him I was in the process of leasing or buying a new Lexus and would appreciate it if they could extend the offer. He said the Good Will Offer was only good for 3 months and he would not extend the offer. He said when the offer expires they would review it. Obviously, I was not very happy with his response. A few weeks later, I found a new 2019 Lexus RX450H at J M Lexus that I was planning to get, so I called Eric ** to get the Good Will Offer authorized. It took him a few days to get back to me and when he did he said he wouldn’t authorize the Good Will Offer until after I purchase the new vehicle. I told him that was unacceptable and I wanted to speak with someone else. He said he is the only one that makes that decision. I told him I was going to write a letter to Lexus Headquarters and he said go ahead, but it’s just going to come back to me. After all this I have no intention of ever purchasing another Lexus.
2008 RX 350 with 104,000 miles. I purchased extended warranty that was up 3 months ago. Took car in and was told I need a new water pump. Bearings in water pump went back causing leaking and affecting the heating and cooling system. Also need a new steering rack costing $1,700 by itself. It is also leaking. As I read through the comments Im seeing that these are consistent problems with Lexus. I usually keep cars at least 10 years. I have never owned a car that needed these type of repairs so soon. I am extremely disappointed because Lexus vehicles are supposed to be down for quality and reliability. If I had wanted a car just for appearance, I could have paid a lot less, knowing I may have to put in large repair sums. The water pump is supposed to cost over $1,000.00. Will not recommend vehicle. I purchased extended warranty knowing I was getting a reliable vehicle and probably wouldnt have to use it. But to be on the safe side because I had planned on keeping for well over 10 years. As soon as extended warranty expired, Im have costly problems.
Well-built. Quality workmanship. My Lexus GS 430 is a 2001 model. Never had a mechanical issue. Just recently changed shocks and a few other minor issues. Not bad for a 16 year old automobile. Still handles well. Paint is still great with no blemishes or paint fade. Although I take really good care of it, it takes great care of me and my family. Quiet as a kitten. Goes when needed. Powerful 300hp V8 still has oomph! Drivers seat looks a little worn. But passenger seats look new.
My ES 350 dashboard is melting, has a fume coming from the car because of the melting dashboard. Contacted Lexus - we were told, What do you expected, you have got a old car. I would never buy a Lexus in my life again. Lexus is not what it used to be.
Full line of sedans, sporty coupes, hybrids and performance vehicles including the IS, GS, LS which are reliable. They look great whether youre going out of the town or to a business meeting and want to make a positive impression. For instance, the IS Turbo has a very aggressive engine that is responsive and sounds great. The seats hug you through the curves. Also, the vehicle comes with the basic amenities that you want in a sports car. You do not buy this vehicle for passenger occupancy but for its high performance and overall driving ability. With that said, I am a good sized man and I fit in the drivers seat comfortably. Overall, I do not have any issues with the vehicle and its been an awesome experience.
Please review this article before considering the purchase of a Lexus as there are fees once a one year. Grace period expires for both the remote start feature and navigation. https://www.thedrive.com/news/18313/lexus-charges-a-subscription-fee-for-remote-start
Lexus handles great on the road with a very smooth ride, comfortable seats and sound system. It also has great gas mileage and the tires has a very nice grip to them. It has satellite radio built inside and has the best leather seats in its class. Its a must have to me to have leather seats. You can make it fit your personality and customize it yourself. It has great engine, great sunroof and nice steering. If you like the best then youre going to love this car I promise. I am satisfied but it could be better. All the people who rides with me are very, very, very happy, love this car and love its nice design.
Lexus RX 350 is a dream SUV for senior citizens because it is comfortable, reliable, and safe. The back up camera and other safety features are awesome. You sit up in a position where you can see the road and everything around you and it is just the right size for large men. I love it!
It has always been my dreams to one day own a Lexus. However, this is not what I intended or expected from such a prestigious and renowned luxury car dealership. Two weeks after purchasing my Pre Owned Certified Lexus ES 350 I have had nothing but major problems with this car, both mechanical and interior issues. The paint on the car is fading and very spotty, the armrest and the leather seats are tearing apart by the day. Typically I am the only one using the car, other than my husband who has his own car, and I do not have any children that would exacerbate the problem. Just recently there was a problem with my trunk latch that was making it almost impossible to close my trunk. I took it to the dealership, and thank goodness it was covered by the warranty.Once I received the car back, about a week later, I noticed the same thing started happening again with the latch, and I also noticed an echo sound when closing the trunk that was not there before they serviced the vehicle. Immediately I contacted their corporate office and told them my concerns, but to no avail. They offered me a voucher that could probably pay for one tire, and just wished me away. I really feel abandoned and betrayed by this dealership, and to some degree, heart broken because this was my dream car. I hope that they can get these current problems resolved without dragging me through a long and drawn out process, and not having to obtain a lawyer to get to the bottom of these issues. If anyone has any suggestions or comments that could help me, I would greatly appreciate it.
They have quite a few models to choose from. Only a few were in my price range though. They could use some less expensive models in my opinion because not everyone can afford 50k+. The car is very stylish and sleek, and very roomy both for passengers and storage. It has leather interior, wi-fi, GPS, driving assist, and is great on gas mileage. There is a ton of features and you can upgrade almost everything. It all adds up quick though and gets rather pricey. The passenger capacity is great. I can fit 5 people in my car comfortably with plenty of room to move. Im rather short, but my boyfriend is over 6 feet and he sits comfortably in my car.
I have a 2007 GX470 around 55000 thousand miles and park inside garage most of the time. I notice lil small crack around my cluster/meter for months now and I figure oh its just a small crack and then one day I notice a long crack running from left to right about 2 ft long. I call Lexus and they told me bring it in and they take pictures and turn out my extended warranty not cover. WTH and they had the nerve to charge me around $1200 and they ask can I afford to paid $500+. I told them I cant afford to paid anything. It suppose to be cover and they even said that they have customer with same problem. They will contact me 3-4 weeks and let me know how much it cost. Makes me dont want to buy any kind of Lexus car ever. Im disgusted.
These comments are to reinforce other postings about the inflated reputation of Lexus vehicles for reliability. We currently own a RX 330 and IS 350. The RX had a transmission seal fail at 70,000 miles and the water pump on the IS 350 failed after 34,000 miles. Both vehicles were out of warranty when these failures occurred, but given the low mileage, I contacted Lexus Service to request help covering the cost of repairs. They politely declined. I am writing this to warn any prospective luxury car buyers that in my experience the Lexus reputation for reliability is not justified. The additional premium we pay for their vehicles compared to other regular brands is not warranted. I will never buy another Lexus again.
Things keep falling apart. The window is making a noise, the armrests have no leather on them... Its all flaked off. And now the TRANSMISSION. I was told by multiple people that it would easily go to over 200K miles... Its falling apart at 150,0000. LEXUS is only a luxury model because of its PRICE!!! Resell value sucks too!
I am the original owner of a 2008 GS350. I bought a Lexus because they had a reputation for high reliability. My car certainly has not lived up to that reputation. I have had tons of little problems but with only 62,000 miles on my car the engine blew up while on the freeway and 12 miles from any service. I had a headlight that wasnt working and it cost me $2200 to repair it because my ballast was faulty and they require you to replace the whole light assembly (lenses, plastic parts, etc.). What an insane expense and an environmental disaster. Lexus Customer Satisfaction (lack of satisfaction?) basically did nothing to compensate me or fix the problem. I will NEVER buy another Lexus. I highly recommend that you also stay away from any Lexus. They are certainly not the company they used to be.
I own a Lexus 2006 and a year ago I started noticing hairline cracks on the dashboard. I spoke with a Lexus representative and he said that Lexus is aware that it is a manufacture defect and I should take it to the dealer and they should replace it. I took it in to North Miami Lexus dealer. The guy took pictures and said that he submitted the claim. I followed up with him since he never called me back to follow up. After 5 weeks he said that Lexus will replace it but I will have to pay $1000. He also said that I can call Lexus customer service if I am not happy. I did call them and followed up with Customer Service manager, Michael, was told that since the car is outside of warranty (however, very low mileage and they recognize that, could have been covered under that) they can only extend the dealers offer and that is very fair. They never looked at the pictures since the dealer didnt upload them and apparently someone in the other department declined for Lexus to take full responsibility for the defect. After searching the issue online, I realize that I am not the only one with the same issue and that different Lexus owners were offered different deals. My belief is that they never even looked into the issue and I was given the generic answer by the customer service management. This is very disappointing and would love to join a class action suit. Lexus is aware of this defect and just getting away with it. The luxury car dealer is washing their hands off. I am not angry but very dissatisfied to look at the car everyday and see the cracks while it is suppose to be a luxury car.
My first experience with Lexus of Wilmington was about 3 and a half years ago. I had just purchased my GX470 which had a few months of the manufacturers warranty remaining. I had the car inspected by my mechanic. He said he noticed a little coolant residue near one of the inlet/outlet pipes and suggested I take it to a dealer to replace the seals at this location. I called Lexus of Wilmington and explained the issue to a service manager. The service manager told me that such an issue was not covered under the 3 year warranty. I then called the service department at Lexus of Atlantic City and spoke with Chuck **. He told me the repair I needed was in fact covered by the warranty. He told me to bring my vehicle in and theyd fix it free of charge. FIXED, done, no charge, free loaner, and my car was clean as a whistle when I picked it up.A few months ago I filled the tank at the usual gas station. This gas station was closed for a week while they replaced their pumps. I waited until they reopened and then filled up. The fuel I got had a load of metal particles in it. My vehicle began running poorly. I tried to leave it with Lexus of Atlantic City but they had just closed. I had no choice but to take it to the nearest Lexus dealer I could find. I reluctantly left the vehicle with Lexus of Wilmington. They had to drain the gas tank and replace filters and all the fuel injectors. That repair cost $3007.00. I picked the vehicle up and within 50 miles of driving my gas gauge went dead. I took the vehicle back to Lexus of Wilmington.Their diagnosis was that a part they replaced had, as said to me, (fried) and now my gas gauge too was (fried). I was told that it had nothing to do with the previous repair work. I asked if the previous repair had never happened would the gas gauge have been (fried) anyway. I was told this recent damage would have happened anyway. When I picked up my vehicle I was told the good news that the part they previously replaced in the gas level sending process was under warranty (one of the fried parts). I tried to suggest that perhaps a mechanic made a mistake or a faulty replacement part had shorted out my gas gauge. The service manager reluctantly wrote on a parts sheet (No explanation, poss. power surge from previous repair). The gas gauge remediation required a new dash panel (the whole thing, tach, speedo, etc.) which cost me $1310.20.Im not a Lexus mechanic but I believe the facts speak for themselves. Either a mistake or faulty part led to this $1300 repair. Lexus of Wilmington would not entertain the notion that they or Lexus parts should take responsibility for the subsequent repair expense I incurred. The loaners I was provided made me think of trading my vehicle in for a new one.Although Im aware that service and sales are not related I cannot bring myself to engage in the purchase of a vehicle from this dealership. I think the ability to explain good experiences or problems with a dealership in a venue like this are invaluable to the consumer. I suggest to anyone reading this that they should keep service and sales separate when evaluating a dealership. Lexus of Wilmington does a good job in their sales (I sent my nephew there and they gave him a great deal) but if you read the service comments only you will see that the quality of their service departments customer satisfaction has deteriorated.
We have owned other makes and the worst dealer experiences have been with Lexus. This is not our first negative experience but it is the latest. Lately we discovered what Id call seeping at the water pump. The start of a leak. Not dripping yet. Thought best to have it fixed before it gets worse. Brought it in and Dealer said it was not leaking so it would not be repaired under warranty. To add insult they suggested we should Test drive a new model (joke).
I was driving home from work on Friday, April 25, 2014. I live 52 miles from work. My 2007 Lexus RX 350 drove fine without any low engine oil warning lights showing on the dashboard. At about 45 miles the engine just started sounding loud and stopped. My engine had not a drop of oil in it. I towed it 200 miles to the last Lexus dealer that had serviced it 2 months before, only to find out that my engine was blown and now they want $11,000.00 to put an 85,000 mile engine in it. Really?
I have odor coming from my vents on my 2013 RX350. The dealer says Lexus is aware of this problem but offers no remedy. What can I do? Can they replace my car??? This is my third RX350. Is my loyalty worth anything?!!! I hope so.
We have owned about 9 Lexus over the past 20 years. All great vehicles. In March 2016 we purchased a new Rx 350. At about 6000 miles it started surging and hesitating. Cruise control is almost usable. Our horror started in February 2017 when we complained about issue. Lexus acknowledged there was a issue and fix was on the way. About 3 weeks later Lexus called and said fix was in, we carried vehicle to Lexus for a 15 minute fix. There was no improvement. When I complained, Lexus said I needed to talk to Lexus customer care. After 4 months and carrying complaint to arbitration, big joke, Lexus said vehicle was satisfactory. I am stuck with a lemon.
I purchased a 2013 ES 350 new... was very satisfied until Sept. 24 2016. The vehicle had a little more than 19000 miles when someone failed to yield the right of way and collided with my wife near the front and left driver door while she was driving the vehicle. The damage was extensive and the insurance declared the vehicle a total loss. My concern is that neither of the airbags deployed during the collision. The other vehicle involved airbag(s) did deploy.I contacted Lexus and gave them permission to inspect the data image on the vehicle to let me know why the airbags did not deploy. As of October 21 2016 I have not heard anything from them. I have contacted Customer service several times but did not get any information. The vehicle has been towed to a totaled lot. Not sure how long the vehicle will be available for their inspection. I have owned four Lexus vehicles and have not had any problems. I am now concerned if I replace the vehicle with another Lexus will there be a safety issue. Damage images are available if requested.
We bought a RX 330 that is fast and reliable. The technology package is state of the art with everything you can dream of. The car is very luxurious and comfortable too. The appearance is sports utility vehicle savvy and sleek with and a little style, bit of sexy in it. It fits my needs with style and is one of a kind. The inside is spacious and fits the whole family including a dog or two. It is very roomy and comfortable. Their technology package is out of this world. It is suited for every age, and is a perfect family car for all ages. I would definitely recommend this car for anybody looking for beyond luxury at an affordable price.
Great selection of cars. Beautiful car with a very nice silver color interior. Great clear stereo sound. Didnt upgrade much because too much extra cost but what I have is great. My kids love it so I would pick it again if I could. Hope to tell friends about this car because it fits a lot.
I bought a Lexus RX350 - in 2007. At about the same time, needing a vehicle for commuting, I purchased what some might say is the antithesis of a Lexus - a Hyundai, a Hyundai Elantra (2008), to be precise. Heres what happened since: Date Lexus ($50,000 +) Hyundai ($15,000); Oct 12th 2012, Battery failed (32830 mi); Nov 12th 2012, Idler pulley for drive belt failed (36362 mi); March 11th 2014, Ignition coil #5 failed (42891 mi), replaced drive belts (on highway nearly hit by truck); March 30th 2016, Rear Caliper blown (61498 mi - $654.40); April 20th 2016, Ignition coil #6 failed (62562 mi - $ 293.47); April 20th 2016, Dealer diagnosed leaking steering fluid, recommends steering replacement ($1600 estimate - not done yet).Maintenance items such as regular servicing, brake and tire replacements and such, do not appear in the above list, as also any repairs prior to 2012 (have not kept records). All repairs have been performed at Haldeman Lexus of Princeton, 2630 Brunswick Pike, Business Route 1 North, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648-1000. The vehicle has been run for pleasure, under normal operating conditions. The failures are premature, and entirely unexpected, at these mileages. The vehicle is a Lexus! In contrast, the Hyundai, surprisingly ran fine at 90000 miles +, with no significant breakdowns or repairs, apart from a battery replacement at about 50,000 mi and drive belt replacement at about 85,000 miles. I provided the above comparison to Lexus - have yet to hear from them. No doubt, its difficult to accept that a Hyundai can beat a Lexus hands down, in terms of what Lexus purportedly excels at, manufacturing quality. Looks like we should look elsewhere when we go for a luxury SUV next time!
Hello. This Vehicle is great but easy to steal for thief. After I purchased I heard, from the other Rx350 owners and insurance broker too that this model is been easy to steal. Now recently someone steal my Rx350 2016 from My driveway and I reported to police and they recover too on same day. But all key system and other things are damage. What should I do in this case? Should I take this vehicle back, which I am not comfortable to take this vehicle? And Constable told me that Lexus dont have vehicle tracing device in uptown 2019 Rx350. But Why Rx350 is easy for thief to steal that car. Why Lexus dont have proper lock system. This is not acceptable and I will not suggest to buy Lexus anymore. I think we should look for another Brand.
ES-350 - I have till this past year been a loyal Lexus customer. Every three years I would replace my lease with an equivalent vehicle (recently the ES-350). Turning in the car this time was brutal. They treated me so poorly, they lied to me, they overstated the wear and tear and they overtly took advantage of me. When I asked why they were doing so, the answer was because we can. Ultimately, they wore me down and I said - Forget it. I wont turn my vehicle in to you and Ill buy it out. I did so knowing that I would never buy a Lexus again. Recently a friend of mine asked me about cars - knowing that I had been a loyal Lexus customer. I convinced them not to buy a Lexus and when they agreed to defer to my advice, I knew that I was finally getting back at the folks at Lexus. I will continue to do so - why? Because I can!
I just leased a 2017 Lexus NX 200T and have been driving it for about 4 months. I am very unhappy with the Bluetooth system. Previously, I had a Ford Edge and the Bluetooth was far better than the Lexus. I never had any issues with it. When I place a call in the Lexus, I will say Please call John Smith. It then pulls up John Smith as well as several other people and asks me to select who I am trying to call from the list. If it doesnt do this, then the other thing it does is when I say Please call John Smith, it says are you sure you want to call the contact? It absolutely NEVER just allows me to call someone without taking me through these steps. I have been to two different Lexus dealers about this. One told me it would take my new car a while to recognize my voice... OK, it has been 4 months and I went through the voice recognition set up a while ago. The other dealer could not explain it. Had I known this is what it is going to be like just to place a call, I never would have leased this vehicle as I am stuck with it for the next several years.
This brand goes to great lengths to add detail to the interior of the car. The detail makes the car feel classy. Intuitive gauges to slick interior is one of the reasons I keep coming back. Gauges are setup in a way that makes it easy to read. Car stark is awesome. The options on wheels was something I liked and upgraded audio was something I found extremely valuable. Updated dashboard lighting was also a plus. Im happy with the amount of space inside the vehicle. I have a family of four plus a dog and never have any issue packing my car for trips.
My 2008 Lexus Rx-350, the dashboard were cracking and its just only 40,000 miles. And also some of the cosmetic area are started chipping like two side mirror was cracking (clear coated paint) and also the tail back handle has already chipping (clear coat paint) and every time I car wash, the sunroof has also leaking water. But the engine performance were like top of the line. (Acceleration, steering easy to handle - were excellent.)
I have never had any problems with my Lexus. Aside from changing the tires, it has been a very reliable car. I have ALWAYS kept my car in my garage. About 2 years ago, the dash starting showing strange signs of razor-like slashes running throughout the dashboard. I had been going through many changes at that time, and did not bring it to the dealership when it first started occurring. Now, I have moved and the razor-like slashes have turned into the dash literally crumbling off!!!!! I brought my car to the dealership in Metairie, Louisiana and was told there that this was not considered a defect and it would cost me $2000 to repair. I called Lexus Corporate and spoke to a man named Ed on extension ** and he basically told me the same thing. Out of warranty, car too old, not a defect, sorry cant help you. I am so upset about this because I have always bragged about the fact that Lexus was the best car I have ever owned. I know people who have cars older than mine and dont have this problem. Has this happened to anyone out there? Were you able to get it fixed by Lexus? Help!!
In 2008, we purchased a new 2008 RX-350 from a Portland area Lexus. Prior to purchasing the vehicle we spent months researching the Lexus brand, reliability and customer satisfaction. We are over 3 hours away from the closest Lexus dealer. Having heard and read mostly good reviews, we opted to purchase the vehicle described. We have taken excellent care of the vehicle and all of our maintenance has been maintained current by our only local Lexus family Toyota dealership in our area. The vehicle has never been in an accident. Seven years later we have had several unexpected repairs required to keep the vehicle running. First was the NOC sensor (slightly under $1000). Second was the rack and pinion (slightly over $1000). And the latest was a transmission replacement. The vehicle is just outside the powertrain warranty. The total costs of these repairs has been over $7200. Even the local Toyota service representative said this should not happen with this car.I have contacted the Lexus goodwill assistance number and they agreed to pay for the parts for the latest repair. While that is good of them, it is my opinion that the loyalty of Lexus belongs to their company rather than their customers and they certainly choose not to stand behind their luxury product. It is disappointing Lexus does not show the same loyalty to its customers when excessive repairs are required to what should have been a more reliable vehicle. I would like others to be aware of the Lexus quality of service and loyalty and recommend that you buy a car from Honda/Acura whom we have had excellent service from and been shown truly good loyalty and certainly stand behind their product.
My mother bought a 2008 Lexus RX 350. At 88k miles, she began experiencing issues with her car while driving and brought it to the dealership for an inspection. They told her that there were massive problems with her engine which would cost over $5k to fix. This car isnt even at 100k miles yet so it was incredible that there would be any engine problems. For what its worth, my mother is a very safe, responsible driver and she has never skipped any maintenance on her car. We asked what our options were and they told us that we were past the warranty, so our only option would be to pay the $5k out of pocket. Obviously, we were upset so we called the consumer hotline that they provided us to voice our concerns, and we spoke with a representative named Carlos. He admitted that there were known engine issues with the RX models and said that he would call us back with a solution.A few days later, he called us and said that he would cover only 50% of the parts. He would absolutely not budge even though we told him that Lexus should cover 100% of the parts and labor as this was a known issue. I feel that Lexus sold us a car with a faulty engine and is now refusing any responsibility. At this point, I am seriously considering suing the company and will never buy a Lexus again.
Purchased the pre-certified SUV (2013 Lexus GX 460) with 22k miles. The following week I noticed the front left bumper was detaching from the body. Brought it back to the dealer who sent it to auto body shop to have it repaired. He installed new pins. The following month noticed the same bumper plus the rear right bumper panel was falling off. Brought it back again, this time they placed a bracket into the panel. Approximately 6 months later, the same issue occurred so I kept pushing the panel back in. In June 2018 I noticed the rear and front bumper panels were worse than ever. Just returned from the dealer and was told at this point there is nothing they can do since this a manufacturing defect that is common with Lexus as well as Toyota vehicles. The only way it may solve the problem permanently is to replace both bumpers!! Owned a couple of Lexus SUVs in the past and never had this issue until I purchased this model. NEVER BUYING A LEXUS/TOYOTA AGAIN!!!!
I love Lexus line of models, mainly the cars but would really like to see a sportier van or SUV option for us moms on the go, maybe have some options for electronic device storage for all the passengers. I would love to see a wine bottle storage compartment added in as an option when us adults want to go on a night camping trip too. Keep the luxury, keep the excellent quality but amp up the capacity and horsepower. The sleek lines on the exterior set it apart, but what I love most is how the inside fits so well. The features are very high end and the designers and developers obviously put a lot of work into how convenient everything would be to reach. The auto locking of the doors that can be customized by the driver is an amazing feature too, it keeps my children from trying to unlock or open the doors. I can set how long the interior lights stay on, change my exterior signal flash, the brightness of my dash lights, among many other amazing features. The passenger capacity is huge, luxurious and keeps the kids from annoying each other.
My wife purchased her second new Lexus SUV in 2013 and was a diehard Lexus repeat customer. Her new Lexus RX450H is an expensive luxury class vehicle, and she justifiably had expectations that it would be a safe, reliable, and comfortable vehicle. It turned out that it is none of the above, and furthermore the Lexus people not only don’t stand behind their product, but knowingly deceive their customers regarding the quality of their products at the time of purchase. This vehicle and many other Lexus models have a faulty evaporator component in the air conditioning system which drains condensation into the cabin causing mildew and bacteria to develop and grow. We became aware of this after the terrible smell inside the vehicle became noxious. The Henderson, Nevada dealership where we purchased changed the filters at our cost and the problem persisted.Eventually, we learned that Lexus was aware of the vehicle’s defect when they sold us the car. Now, there are class action suits against Lexus for this specific defect, and the corporate office’s refusal to remedy the defect. While the corporate office acknowledges the defect and has issued several Technical Service Bulletins, or TSBs, which gave guidance to the dealerships and suggested specific language to placate the customers concerns, no recall has been made and Lexus admits they do not have a plan to fix the defect. After numerous attempts to resolve the issue on our part we have not received satisfaction in resolution of this defect. The corporate office claims resolution lies with the dealership, and vice versa. What is dispositive is that Lexus products are not the reliable vehicle they once had a reputation as, and after sale customer service is deplorable. So, look a little further if you are considering the purchase of a Lexus in the luxury vehicle market.
Toyota hits a home run every year with the flagship Lexus LS460. The car is put together flawlessly. The mechanical parts roar and purr and make reassuring sounds as the interior parts cuddle you in refined comfort. I have well over 200,000 miles on my 2007 model and no intention of trading it in the near future. In most ways this classic machine is just getting broken in about now. I have followed all recommended service calls, both in and now long out of warranty, and been rewarded with a vehicle that still rules the road. It shines almost as brilliantly after a good wash now as it did right off the showroom floor. I could not be happier with how it just continues to amaze me with its durability and reliability. Yeah, the sticker shock is difficult, but 12 years later it is barely but a memory of a tremendous decision. Thank you, Lexus.
Please relay my message to the senior management. CAN THIS CAR SURVIVE 50,000 MILES WITHOUT ANOTHER LEAK??? 1) Engine oil leak at 15,000 miles only on May 8, 2013 (after merely 2 years old). 2) ANOTHER 3 LEAKS IN YEAR 2015 ALONE. a) Engine oil leak again on March 27, 2015 (33,802 miles only). b) Less than 2 months, engine oil leak again on May 7, 2015 (35,284 miles only). c) Repeat the 4th time engine oil leak again on Dec. 26,2015 (44,013 miles only). Per all 4 repair service invoices/records provided by Longo Lexus Dealership, California, this is major engine oil leaks problem!!!Had chosen Lexus (also own toyota, bmw, benz autos) at that time owing to its fame of reliability, durability and sleek style. However, it had become a nightmare to me... In addition to the time, inconvenience caused, I basically STUCK WITH IT!!! I CANNOT SELL IT BECAUSE OF OIL LEAK NUISANCE (NO ONE WILL BUY THIS CAR ONCE DISCLOSE OF SUBJECT ISSUE!!!).Additionally, it caused UNSECURE, NON-RELIABLE and MENTAL BURDEN every time driving this car, as I simply tensed and afraid of when this will happen again!!! Not to mention I no longer able to drive this SUV car long distance anymore (initial purpose of buying SUV for comfortable long trip) albeit carrying 44,000 miles only!!! I am extremely, extremely... disappointed, dissatisfied of this ownership. What will be your recommendation of my current awkward situation?!
There were no obvious problems until a multitude of lights came on telling me to get the car to a dealer immediately. I took the car into Mungenast Lexus on Saturday, 3/8/2014 with 89,000 miles. The tech hadnt seen some of the items and I was told I would have to wait until Monday to find out the cause. They got the malfunction lights off and I said I would drive it until they came on again. The car wasnt driven much Sunday or Monday but the lights came on again late Monday and I took the car back to Mungenast on Tuesday, 3/11/2014. On Wednesday, 3/12/2014 I was given an estimate of $10,682.75 for the necessary repairs, not including taxes. Does anyone know of a $73,000 luxury car requiring $11,000 in repairs at 89,000 miles? A car that has been maintained and hasnt been in a wreck, has regular maintenance (although not by Lexus) or any other obvious mistreatment. I made a complaint to Lexus Customer Care (yeah, right!) and they gave me $2000 toward the repairs which I felt was a joke given the forums that point out all of the problems with this car. Virtually all of the repairs necessary are mentioned in all of the forums or other online places to learn of car troubles.I had all of the repairs done except the upper and lower control arms to the tune of $4637.81 including the $2000 credit against the repairs. The upper and lower control arms represent another $4690.15 plus tax. Ive been told to get this done as soon as possible. The car cant really be aligned until these are repaired. I had the first items done in order to get the car back and take advantage of what had been offered before they tried to renege on that. Additionally, I cant sell the car as is because it wont pass a state inspection. Even if I get it fixed, CarFax is probably going to show the repairs so I cant sell it as an individual and if I keep it, Ill be waiting for the other shoe and another $3000 or $4000 in repairs. I feel like I have been really screwed by Lexus with little ability to fight back.I plan to make sure this is known to as many people as possible and am seriously considering a big yellow lemon on all 4 doors with something like, Ask me about my Lexus experience with an e-mail or phone number. I have no idea if this would qualify for a lemon law claim. Repairs: 1) R & L #1 & #2 Upper Control Arms: $3210.35* 2) R&L Lower Control Arms: $1479.80* 3) Water Pump: $701.50 4) R Front Shock: $595.36 5) Brake Actuator: $2704.96 6) Bank 1 & Bank 2 Fuel Ration Sensors7) O-Ring, Fuel Gasket & Insulator at High Pressure $1523.67Fuel Pump: $871.52 *Work not done yet. Work that has been done: $6637.81 including tax. $2000. Lexus credit equals $4637.81. Perhaps the shock and the water pump would be okay although with 7 previous pre-owned cars driven in excess of 125,000 miles I had replace no shocks or suspension items. One fuel pump on a 2005 Lexus at about 100,000 miles.
We took the car to the local dealership in January, August and October asking for them to identify and repair the brake issue. Each time, the dealership told us that they could not find any problems with our brakes without even trying some random things to see if this would fix the issues. Lexus Corporate sent out an inspector to exam our car, but couldnt find anything. Lexus will not help us.On Sunday, November 17th, we were driving back in heavy traffic. The traffic came to a quick stop and my husband again had the same brake issue. Fortunately, he was able to swerve to the shoulder to miss the car in front of him. We are beyond frustrated, as the next time the result could be an accident resulting in an injury or worse. The dealer told us we have exhausted our options with them. Now we have a vehicle which is very scary to drive – especially in heavy traffic or anytime there could be an unforeseen quick stop. We have a very unsafe vehicle that Lexus has turned us away saying they have no more options. However, they didnt even try blowing out the brake lines, adjusting the brakes, reprogramming the ABS - nothing. At this point, I would never buy another Lexus. Good luck if you have any issues.
Lexus has several models, but I chose their RX 400h Hybrid. Its a great automobile. I got great gas mileage, and really felt like I was helping the environment. Previously I had a 4 door sedan, I owned that car for 12 years before selling it and getting the SUV. There are 2 bucket seats in front and a back bench seat. The vehicle seated 4 adults comfortably, and I was always able to get 3 grandchildren in booster seats in back. The cargo space was roomy as well. The vehicle I purchased was fully loaded, there was nothing more to upgrade. The leather interior was easy to keep clean. Heated seats to keep you warm, sunroof, 4 wheel drive. I know there were other upgrades included, such as the automatic headlights and windshield wipers. I loved the way the windshield wipers could sense when there was rain! Moreover, the vehicle had an entertainment package, built-in CD players installed in the back of the front seats. My grandchildren adored watching CDs and it certainly made traveling with the 3 of them a pleasant experience.
In todays [August 9, 2013] Wallstreet Journal [delivered in Minnesota] Lexus advertised they would do a 0.00 money down, $299.00 per month lease for 36 months on their CT200H. The Ad is clear but Lexus of Maplewood of Minnesota would not honor the ad. I like the car, but they are saying it should be $370 per month for 36 months.
I was looking for a nice sedan, and all the options available really blew me away. Very glad that I had decided to go with Acura over other options that were out there. A major selling point for me was the quality and sturdiness of the power windows. I was looking for something that will last me and not cost an arm and a leg when they break down so frequently. Ive had motors for windows go bad in several of my previous cars, so it was a must to find a brand with quality power windows. The windows work really well. The car is mainly for myself so I could really care less about the space, but if I do ever have passengers, Im pretty certain they will be very comfortable and that is awesome. I believe I will be staying with Acura the next time I am shopping for a vehicle.
My 2013 Lexus RX350 has only 5000 miles on it and its muffler shows signs of rust stains. The car has been parked in garage from day 1. Its very disappointing.
Although I actually like my 2011 RX 450h, I am extremely disappointed with Lexus from a warranty perspective. Basically, it appears absolutely nothing is ever covered under the warranty. Since I purchased this new vehicle two years ago, I have spent thousands of dollars for required maintenance. Additionally, the tires were faulty from day one and required replacement at $1900 a pop. I cant wait for my lease to end so I can get out of this nicely appointed money pit and go back to BMW, where the service requirements are few and far between - and absolutely everything is always covered under the warranty.
I bought a brand new Lexus rx350. As soon as I took it home I noticed several things wrong with the car. I complained dozens of times on 1 same issue, and several times on other issues. They kept telling me to bring in the car. I live 2 hrs away from dealer I bought from. However each time I brought in car something else always goes wrong after they tell me everything is ok. I have been dealing with this lemon for a yr and several months now and still help in getting my entire money back that I paid for. I also got a list of all the repairs that was done prior to buying. They should not have sold this vehicle or put it on sale. They were taking parts from other cars and putting it on mine to check what was wrong. I also paid almost $2200 on warranties and other things which they claimed I will not get back. All I wanted was a car without any problems and did not mind paying for the extra warranties. If the car was sold as a lemon and they knew there were problems with the car, then you should refund everything including the warranties bought. I am going through Kealanda customer care who agreed to refund the purchase price but refused to refund the $2200 in extra things I bought. Trip charges I understand also, but all the trips were made to the dealership, over and over again. I was given the runaround since day one and lied to. This was my first luxury car and we did not feel safe in this car. It has stayed in 1 spot for the entire time since we noticed all these serious issues. We went on 1 small trip which we had problems with the head lights not working so we came back. Windshield wipers not coming on automatically when raining, Lexus Enform, etc... I could go on and on.I want the owners and Lexus to take care of this. I should not have had to go through so much trouble especially on a high end car. Dealerships and Lexus should be accountable for misleading and selling us a car they knew was defective. I want justice and a full refund including all the extras I bought with the financing department.
Lexus cars are comfortable. I like the features and the easy accessibility of the car. The leather seats are easy to clean which makes my job a lot easier. The butt warmers are nice and help to keep us all warm during the winter months of the years. Our model specifically can only hold up to five people. However I believe that Lexus makes other models that can hold more people than that. This car suits my family well as there are five of us and we are all able to fit comfortably in the car. The car has a small built and our model is black and sleek. The paint has stayed nice and sharp throughout the course of many years and I believe that it will continue to do so over the next couple until we decide to go to either donate the car or purchase a new one. We are interested in a car with seats that are not leather as the smell bothers my family and the seats always seem to be super hot or cold.
Ive received a Warranty Enhancement Notification ZLD over a year ago and the Lexus dealership that I take my 2006 RX330 for service tells each time I contact them about fixing my dashboard that the parts are not available. Im writing this to find out when the parts to fix my RX330 dashboard will be available at the dealerships. This issue has lowered the resale value of my RX330.
The salesman was great. The car when collected was great and then; no handbook for the sat Nav/Bluetooth etc. The dealer has tried over what are now months to obtain the handbook from Lexus but they refuse to even acknowledge the request. Established today that new Lexus are still being delivered without this handbook. For a luxury car this is totally unacceptable, I now wish I hadnt purchased the car. Ive been told to download it, all 300+ pages.
Lexus has denied warranty coverage on our car without any reasonable explanation, and ignored our request to provide reasonable explanations. In November 2013, we purchased a certified pre-owned Lexus that came with a 3-year warranty. At the time of purchase, the front bumper was slightly misaligned, with a small gap between the main body and the bumper on the driver side. Over time, the front bumper kept getting loose, making the gap very wide. Also, a gap started appearing on the driver side of the rear bumper. After ignoring several e-mails and phone calls of ours, Lexus requested us to have the car inspected by the service manager of the dealership where we purchased the car. At the time of inspection (August 13), the service manager looked puzzled and said that he would send the pictures and the description of needed repairs to Lexus. On August 19, the service manager informed us by phone that Lexus denied the warranty coverage because the problems were determined to be due to external causes. This argument, however, has no foundation because there is no trace of an impact on either bumper. On the same day, we sent the case manager at Lexus an e-mail requesting her to answer the following three questions in writing: (1) There is no trace of an impact. (I dont think the service manager found any trace of an impact. Let me know if he said otherwise.) What kind of external cause would make the bumper seriously misaligned without leaving a dent or scratch? (2) I understand that nobody can rule out the possibility of a minor contact on the bumper, such as a contact by another car at a speed of 2 MPH while the vehicle is parked. However, bumpers are supposed to withstand moderate impacts, not to mention minor impacts. If the bumper got seriously misaligned by a minor impact leaving no dent or scratch, shouldnt the manufacturer be responsible for it? (3) How can you rule out the possibilities of defective factory assembly or defective repair/replacement by the previous owner?By phone, the case manager told us that she could only send us a generic denial letter. The letter sent through e-mail simply says, it has been determined that the repair needed to the bumper is due to an outside influence. If they were allowed to deny warranty coverage without any reasonable explanation, they would not have to honor any warranty coverage. We are pursuing this matter through various channels, and we will update this as we get results.
While driving my 12 year old daughter yesterday in my 2007 Lexus IS250 with a 105,000 miles my vehicles interior dash gauges and navigation starts flickering all crazy like it was possessed. Then the car looses power steering in a curve... As I try to slow down the power brake light comes on my daughter begins to cry.... This was not a good experience to be dealing with while driving your child. Thankfully I got the car pulled out of traffic and safely to a parking space... Thank God I wasnt on the interstate or the highway.....
I am going to share a response from Lexus as it pertains to the quality of their vehicle and how they are not taking responsibility. We conclude it is not appropriate for Lexus to provide assistance on the trim repair around the navigation unit. This is a defect from manufacturing. I explained this is a safety issue as the metallic has peeled and now there are shards of this metal pieces throughout the console and the response above was what I received. I am going to escalate and go to all social media on this. BEWARE They are not standing behind there brand anymore.
Lexus reliability and service is mostly what I recommend. We own two Lexus and going forward, will probably always own Lexus vehicles. They are comfortable riding and driving with almost no road noise. The instrument panel and in dash navigation system and music system is very good. AND, the handling and responsiveness of the vehicle. We had an issue with our Lexus SUV in that the front end alignment would not stay in place for even a month. We went on line and saw that several Lexus owners had reported the problem. Lexus worked with us to find a solution and shouldered the cost of fixing the problem. The proposed solution worked and the fact that they covered the cost was a very pleasant surprise. Yes the car was under manufacturers warranty, but past experience has been that the dealership finds a reason why is not a warranty issue and passes the cost onto the car owner.
I purchased a 2008 IS 250 Lexus in San Diego, California. Since purchasing it, I have had all my service done at the Kearny Mesa, San Diego location. This car has been riddled with problems and recalls including engine, brakes, seat belt, navigation and more. The problems just are never ending, and it does not seem Lexus is interested in taking any responsibility. When my touch screen system stopped responding to touch (350 miles outside of warranty), they quoted nearly $2,800 for replacement. They built a cheap car, charged a premium for the car and are collected from each of us to have their poor workmanship items repaired. I will never buy another Lexus and would never refer anyone to them either.
I bought my brand new 2012 Lexus RX 350 in 2011 and luckily I bought platinum service with it. In 2016, when I feel the pulsation in my ride, I brought my car in for a checkup. The salesperson Mitchell ** told me a bunch of issues with my car and told me that I need to pay for the extra services with came up to be roughly $1,500. Thats ridiculous when I have the platinum warranty. I told him to look at my coverage and only do the work that are covered. He then told me that I need to pay the $148.71 fee since they had the technician assessed my car. That was absurd since I already told them the issue and the technician jumped into the car and took a ride and agreed with that but I have to pay for his fee?I was like whatever, if I pay that fee then they will fix my issues. After I paid the fee, Mitchell then told me that he had to call Lexus warranty service to check on the coverage and it will take a couple of days. He says those parts will be cover but he still needs to get a confirmation with Lexus warranty. So I unhappily left the service center and totally forgot about it. When I remember about the issue after I got the oil change, I went home and pulled out the contract that I first bought the warranty and surprisingly. Its listed in black and white that the rear shocks and ball joints are covered. So I showed it to the new salesperson and hes happily helping me with that. Only to replace the leaking rear shock. But not the ball joints since they are now in perfect condition because I got new tires. How is it that when I first brought in my car, those were the issues that you made me pay and now since its covered under the warranty, they are fine now? Its the same old ball joints. Time does not fix mechanism issues on automobiles without replacement.
Highly appreciate the best car on the market. Very classic car. Great for a passenger. Nice color. Mine was a white touch. Features are top: steering wheel, nice stereo with Bluetooth. Enabled tires are good for any type of weather. Plus nice seat covers. Love the decor. They are the warmest seats ever. The car only has one flaw: needed my blue color in stock. But still, I highly recommend them.
I am an owner of 2006 GX 470 with a dashboard full of cracks. I received notice in July of 2015 that the dashboard replacement will be covered under an extended warranty Lexus must have created because of the volume of complaints received by other owners. My directions were to contact the local dealer, Wilde Lexus of Sarasota, Florida and register my VIN number and name and the dashboard would be replaced sometime in the first quarter of 2016. Today, Sept. 26, 2016 I called Wilde Lexus to get another update and Im told I am 9th on the list. Funny, because my last inquiry, I was 6th on the list. The service rep. had no excuse for this. So I asked what I could expect and she had no idea. She said the last shipment of dashboards was in July 2016 and nothing since.I then called Lexus Corp and spoke with a customer rep who knew even less. In fact she said dealers are getting a couple of dashboards weekly and the manufacturer is not keeping up with demand. She has NOOOO estimate or timeline to share with me. I told her Wilde Lexus has not received a shipment for over 2 months and they have no idea when to expect another. This is very poor customer service on behalf of the Corporate Lexus. I dont have an issue with Wilde, in fact they are great with service and maintain a high customer satisfaction level, in this case its corporate whos letting down their customers. Im not sure I would buy another Lexus because of this... however Wilde has a Jaguar, Honda, Rover, and a few other brands that I would consider over Lexus.
As old as my Lexus is, its still one of the best vehicles Ive ever driven. Paint is still good (I do polish it annually), no rust, everything works beautifully. It runs smoothly. It looks good, despite its age. Sleek outside and super comfortable inside. I love my Lexus.
Moldy/mildew odor coming out of A/C vents. Lexus says they cannot fix this problem. I was told to start the car and let the smell get out before I get in. They told me to set to open air, which I have. It doesnt help. I was told it was due to the hot, humid weather. Corporate also said they will not investigate any further.
The dash started developing very fine hairline cracks about a year ago. Over the last month the cracks have gotten much worse. I have seen even picked up small foam pieces on the floor coming from the dash. It is a real shame since I otherwise like this car. I have informed LEXUS Customer Service via e-mail with pictures about this quality problem and they asked me to take the car to a dealer for evaluation. The dealers replacement estimate was $2519.00. I informed customer Service about the cost and was told that the car was out of warranty... They did not have to offer anything to get it fixed but will give me 25% off the repair. This would still cost me $1889.25, totally unacceptable. I have owned many cars brands in the past and none of them ever had a quality issue like this. When buying a very expensive car anyone expects top quality. I do not understand is why there is such a big cost difference between various dealers for the same repair (based on other posts). Recent history shows that Toyota is reluctant to stand behind their products and if there is a class action lawsuit, I would like to know how to join. Unless Toyota comes forward with a better offer this will be the last car I have bought from them.
This is my 4th Lexus and I have enjoyed each one. They provide a smooth and comfortable ride with an extremely quiet interior. Service is very quick and I have never returned for an incomplete service. Service and counter personnel very personable and friendly. Over a 13 year period I have utilized 3 different dealers and been satisfied by all.

Living in the Northeast and having purchased my third Lexus SUV I was quite angry to find out that the only way for the remote start on this brand new vehicle is to download their app and pay $265 a year for this service and other crap I dont need. All I wanted to do was auto start off the key fob but nooo. Starting in 2015 up to 2017 so far they have you hostage. Besides that ripoff I have a droid mini that does not support that app. So besides buying an almost 60k vehicle I need to buy a new phone. Screw that!!! There is no getting around that extra purchase so going forward I have to go outside and sit in the car to start it. Beware any future buyers!!! $265 a year for something that busts to just work off my key.
I got the basic model that cost me 35 grand which was under my budget so I was happy about it. And it runs very well with minimal repairs. Color is gray so it does not get dirty easily. It looks very cool and all my friends wish they had the same one and they all love to take a ride with me. Capacity is great since it meets my needs. I usually travel with 3 other people but sometimes 4 so it fits 5 and enough room for luggage and food. No need to upgrade or personalization. I am perfectly happy.
VIOLENT SHUDDER/SHAKING OF THE ENGINE. When the CT200H is stationary or in motion the engine periodically shakes violently sometimes up to 30 seconds then it goes away. It happened on cold or hot starts. The EGR has been cleaned from carbon build up, has new spark plugs and coils are good. I have lately been noticing coolant loss. NUMEROUS PRIUS AND LEXUS OWNERS HAVING THIS SAME ISSUE. Check engine light. Finally came on with code P0301 cylinder 1 misfire.Called corporate and I was assigned a case manager. Well they were no help. They basically said you dont have warranty on the vehicle so we cant help! Dealer quoted approximately 4500.00 for a blown head gasket (not sure how that happened), a bad intake manifold, and ECU needs to be reflashed. Take into consideration that this vehicle has never been abused, I use it as my commuter vehicle. Also there are many people that have had the same issue with the CT200H and the Prius (both basically have the same engine/components). Anyway Im on the same boat with others on here, I will never buy another Toyota/Lexus. Will move into better vehicles. I highly suggest doing research before investing in a glorified shiny **. Happy holidays. ;)
I recently made a purchase of a 2008 RX350, from Meade Lexus of Lakeside. I decided to go with the Lexus, with the hopes of landing a depending vehicle from a company that cared about their customers well being and to make future purchases. Received the vehicle in Aug. and within 30 days needed a new battery, which is not the end of the world, although unexpected. This weekend however, I took my 11 year old son to Chicago for his birthday and the vehicle started smoking and stalled on me on the 94 E expressway. I had the vehicle towed to a repair shop only to be told that the vehicle that I purchased 7 months prior, needs a new engine!! I tried to contact the dealership as well as had the vehicle taken to another repair shop for a second opinion, after the second shop, gave me the same results. I can not believe that this dealership is selling unsafe vehicles to the public. I did all of my research prior to this purchase for this to happen to me. I too, cannot believe that I am making a complaint about a brand that I put so much trust into. My next step is to contact the attorney general office about this situation.
The Lexus cars until now, have been classic and elegant looking. I dont like the new Lexus cars or SUVs. They ruined the styling. First they put a silly Bow tie in front?? Then the sides look dented in, more or less caved in. My old 2000 Lexus SUV has been admired for years. I get many compliments and today it looks brand new. My dealer and at gas stations, malls everywhere, I drive it, I have had many offers to sell my car. But it rides well, very comfortable and from the drivers seat I can see the road immediately in front of me, there is no huge hood to try and look over and beyond to see the road. The Bose radio/Multidisc CD player sound fabulous and I do not have to reload my CDs each time I want to hear a new artist, I can chose from 5 disks within the dash. Wish they would listen to drivers as to styling and comfort and convenience. Myself, as a retired designer, they went overboard and tried to jazz the car up too much. No need just give the new owners less gadgets (to go wrong) to keep the total car price more reasonable. If they fix it and go back to a classic look, I would buy a new Lexus in a heartbeat. And dealer (in RI) is very reputable and helpful anytime I needed anything, even my oil changes. They are always there to help whatever my needs since 2000 to today 2018. That is a bonus...
You can get the Lexus SUV with or with out a sunroof, leather seats, heated seats as well as a heated steering wheel. There are various other changeable features to choose from. My Lexus SUV had four doors and sun roof. The interior is leather at a great price! I love the sleek design that it has. It also offers a variety of colors. The passenger seating in the Lexus SUV can hold up to 7 people. The SUV is very roomy so all the passengers can sit comfortably and that is very important to my family. The appearance is beautiful and sleek. They have rear camera feature to make backing up easy as it would beep if you came too close to an object.
I am the not so proud owner of a 2009 Lexus IS250. My question is why can NO ONE work on this Navigation System but Lexus? Monopoly much? My dash board and all of the material on the doors and everywhere isnt cracking, I can rub it off with one finger. Its melting. You cant clean it because anything you use just sticks to it and it looks horrible. To go along with this my water pump cracked overheated my car and destroyed my electrical system to include the alternator, battery, navigation system, and all of this has been replaced but my navigation system because Im now flat broke and no one seems to be able to figure out how to fix it other than with another $1500 Computer from Lexus because that is the only place you can buy them. And if you do find one aftermarket, no one will touch it. My heat is stuck on and has been since winter. Its so stupid Im ready to drive this car off a cliff! Recall the water heater!
I have been a Lexus faithful since 1995. Bough about 8 of them. I am driving a 2013 Lexus LS 460 AWD and ES 350 (2010). Fantastic cars but now if I have an iPhone, which I always had does no fully compatible with the car. I cannot reply by send canned text messages.. According to the dealership it is APPLEs problem and I should switch to an Android phone. My solution is to look at other luxury cars.
Purchased a 2012 CT200h in July 2016. The car was advertised as certified but ended up not being certified due to the airbag recall. Bought the car due to my previous experience with Toyota/Lexus being highly reliable car and it also only had 31k miles. Soon after driving off the lot noticed a clicking noise every time you brake. Figured it was a cv axle noise so waited until the first service to address(car also had drivetrain warranty remaining). Took the car in for the 35k service and dealer diagnosed the noise as a failing brake actuator and recommended replacing it for $3450.The dealer and I opened a case with Lexus customer service. After 2 weeks I get a call saying they do not fix noise issues under warranty. Even if my car was certified they still would not fix it. Went to talk to dealer next day and the service manager told me his CT200h makes the same noise and it doesnt bother him. Dealer also told me I should have bought an extended warranty (Right after telling me even the warranty doesnt cover it!?!?!?!). Escalated the Case with Lexus and received a callback saying nothing has failed so I just need to deal with the noise. After this experience Id recommend to stay away from Lexus. Once you drive off the lot it doesnt matter if you have a used or new car they do not care if you are satisfied with the product or not. Considered trading in my CT200h for a brand new one, but that wouldnt help my issue because they told me even if it was brand new and the brake actuator made the same loud clicking noise every time I touch the brake pedal it wouldnt be covered or fixed. So Ill look at other brand cars to spend 40K on.
Bought a 2015 GS 350 car. Was over 50k and not fully loaded. The bad interior colors are all black unless you get a white exterior or black exterior. Then you get the option of only a few interior lighter colors then deep black. Second Lexus engineers destroyed the navigation system by taking away touch screen and installing a mouse to click 1 letter or number at a time, 10x slower than the old touch screen. Also their talk in navigation does not work half the time because its affected by AC or radio noise. Its real garbage, a $150 tom tom is faster and better. They did this to save money. It will be gone next year or so. Also the geniuses at Lexus actually have a knob that pipes in engine noise into the cabin like its a high powered corvette, ridiculous. Now for the ride. Its rough because their 18 rims and little tire contacting road so you feel every little mild bump. Also the rims are dull cheap looking fake silver. Really ugly. The backup camera is fair but no front camera because they raised dashboard height to accommodate junk navigational. Now you cant see past mid hood creating blind spot of front distance of car to an object. Very little contrasting color on door panels or dash just a fake chrome colored clock. And the six stack CD player is gone now also with a basic 1 CD insert and a few speakers average sound. Then to turn on accessories like windows, wipers, radio etc. You have to go through a crazy touch button twice while foot on brake pedal. Yes you can get satellite radio for a fee plus to use through the junk navigational will take 5 minutes to move a mouse for station. Then they got Lexus Enform built in with your navigational where you can pull car over and play with mouse to make dinner reservation, concerts, etc. Its idiotic just read up on the reviews of Lexus Enform. Use your cell to call a place you want reservations. It is 20x faster. Also the car engine with the dual exhaust is noisy as hell. Your neighbor can hear the motor running 3 doors down. I have a 2002 Lexus so this is how I know where the mistakes are in the new car compared to the 2002 GS 300 model which is so much better designed than the new 2015 junk. Also premium gas only and lousy mileage. I would have looked at other cars but my wife loved the old Lexus so she thought the new one would have the same nice features and smooth ride. No way is this plastic car worth more than $38,000 not 53k.So what is better on the Lexus 2015 versus 2002? Nothing to be honest. Has a few more useless steering wheel gadgets, thats it. So what do I like about it? Just increased engine power for passing. If youre thinking about buying this model take it on the freeway and some side streets with a few bumps then youll pass. Car was new when we bought it but had 90 miles on it telling me about 15 people test drove it then passed. I bought it from the liars at Keyes Lexus and they have some real trashy middle eastern hustlers that worked there. It was 5 hours of lies before I regretfully bought from the low class staff. Heres how much profit they make on a 53k MSRP car about 8-9 thousand so now you know what price theyll sell it at.Also the liar sales manager hustled my wife into an added warranty for 2 extra years only for $2800. Huge rip off. After we bought warranty the sales people said all new Lexuss come with a 7 year engine & trans warranty and 4 yr. 50,000 on the other parts. Before you buy look at Acura, Cadillac, Honda, etc. Also dont buy it if it has a mouse for typing and no touch screen. Last thing the door handles are painted silver but made of PLASTIC. For $53,000 3 stars overall is correct rating. The end!!!
Have owned several Lexus models very reliable All models. Only problem on 2013 Rx 350 has been front parking sensor will not go off. Otherwise just brakes and tires have been replaced. Sorry but the above is all I can say about Lexus SUV.
Lexus was a recommendation from someone I know and from third-party reviews (e.g., Consumer Reports, Edmunds). My experience/relationship with salesperson and customer service was good. I prefer this brand/model for connectivity technology (e.g., smartphone, tablet, media), good acceleration/engine performance, seating capacity, residual/resale value, hybrid, diesel-fueled and electric powertrain options, interior roominess and minivan options. Also, quality / workmanship / AWD (All Wheel Drive) / off road capability / handling / warranty options / value for the money / price / maintenance / operating expenses / SUV / crossover options / durability / reputation of the brand / model.
Wonderful car 4 door sedan, 2006 year, normal maintenance, few repairs runs very well with 150,000 miles, 25-26 mpg runs on regular gas. Very comfortable. Back seat a bit tight for tall people. Has backup camera and syncs with phone.
My Lexus RX350 is 5 years old and has been perfect. No reliability issues and unsettling surprises. Ride is rock solid, very comfortable, and restful after a very long drive.
I have a Lexus GS460 2011 and been using for more than three years now, and recently my ABS broke down. We bought new one for 4,000 dollars. After replacing it, unfortunately, the same problem occur. That means I have to buy again new one for another 4,000 dollars. Company should make it cheaper because the cause of the problem is from the manufacturer side. I am thinking of buying another car before the incident happened but now I have doubts and confusion to buy or not because Im scared to take risk the same issues might occur.
es350 2015 - The brake malfunction while in church parking and hit the wall and my car was totaled. Not happy with the car.
I have 2 Lexus cars, one 2007 ES 350 and one 2005 RX 330. As several Lexus customers are experiencing, I too have a leaking rack and pinion on my RX 330. With just 60,000 miles plus. I found this problem when the service adviser inform me about this problem. I was surprised that this so-called quality luxury car will give us some problems at a low mileage. I just have my oil change last month and quoted me about $1,800 to repair. What a quality car we have to just spend this much for a low mileage and my wife drives this one from home to work and vice versa. Lexus should do this repairs at no cost to the customers if they want to claim that their vehicles are built with a seal good quality and workmanship and recall this vehicles because there are so many Lexus owner out there who are having the same problem. This issue should be taken seriously before anything else and serious things happens. I will never recommend Lexus to my friends so they will not experience this kind of dilemma I am experiencing and maybe patronize so other vehicles.
In February of 2013 I leased a 2013 RX350 from Lexus in Peoria, IL. I kept smelling an odor coming from the vents and took it back to the dealership to fix the problem. They sprayed disinfectant in the vents and brought it back. That was in August of 2013, I could still smell it so they picked up the car again, sprayed again and changed the cabin filter. Still the smell was there! I have called the corporate office and they wont do anything more about it. In September I had to go to doctors office, received 3 shots and my doctor sent me to emergency room, got more shots and they did some blood test. They think I had an allergic reaction, we think because of the mildew. When I told corporate about this they said it was because of my driving habits,???? I have tried everything I know to do. In February 2014 I had ANOTHER allergic reaction, was sent to doctors office and had to get a shot! Was in bed for the whole weekend again. I am only leasing this vehicle and they wont fix it!!
Ive heard this same story from at least half of the IS owners I know or have asked if they had the same issue. This is unacceptable. I see older Lexi with 200k+ miles with perfectly function Nav screens. Not sure what Lexus is thinking...
