Me and my brother were driving from oregon to california. He was in a Lexus 2014 IS 250. We were going down the 5 freeway around 65-70mph when I saw his brake lights turn on and he lost control of the car. Before he hit the division line you could see how the brake lights were on but the car didnt stop, it just burned wheel and then he knocked down the division pole going an average speed of 30 mph - where he went on the opposite side of the freeway, where he was hit by a semitruck, leaving him in the hospital and the death of our pet.

Bought a 2008 Sewell RX350 in 2010; thought I was buying a luxury SUV, not so. First problem: Melted rubber handle on back door. Went to a Houston Lexus dealership and was told $500 to fix, couldnt just replace rubber cover, had to replace whole unit. Second problem: Chrome finish on both rear wheels is peeling - another defect. Third problem: Had to replace water pump +$1000 bill. All this on a garaged 2008 RX 350 with less than 80k miles! Im a previous owner of a 2000 Ford Explorer and 2004 Nissan Pathfinder (both kept for 10 yrs 100k miles) - no problems with either one. Last Lexus for me! Now (7/2017) an oil leak. Now (1/2018) the dashboard is starting to crack. Called Lexus to get repaired under enhanced warranty program, I was told since the SUV was bought in 2007 that the 10 warranty does not apply. NEVER RECEIVED LETTER ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER LEXUS OR TOYOTA!!

There was an awesome variety of cars to choose from and it made my decision that much harder because they were all so nice. All equipped car with a nice look. Make you feel like a brand new person. The interior was just as amazing. Much nicer than most cars in todays market. The roomy interior and design allows for you to add your own little touch and personalization. When you can fit more than 4 people on a car, thats what you call awesome. Good enough for larger car pools, if you have several children, or just to take a large family on vacation. My needs were fully met.

Lexus IS 350 model 2014 - I had an accident on the highway where the right side back tire was punctured and the car has rolled over 5 times. The car was rated as total damage after this accident. The strange thing that Air bag system has not activated as if there was no air bag system in the car. I think this is a major failure in the safety system in this expensive car that has to be known to everyone. For your info this car has run only 15000 kilometers. I have purchased this car from the Toyota dealer in Saudi Arabia on June 23rd, 2014.

The dashboard on my 2007 Lexus ES 350 is so sticky and melting. I contacted the corporate office and they referred me to Lexus of Pembroke Pines service department to take a picture of the dash and they would forward the photos to them. After they received the photo, I was told that they had to look at my maintenance history with Lexus to decide what they would do to resolve my problem since my car was out of warranty. I stopped having my car maintenance done at Lexus last year because of the issues I always would run in to with the service department at the North Miami Beach dealership. They always wanted to push off extra things that I didnt come there for. And when I would refuse they would have an attitude. So I decided, why spend your money at a business where there is bad customer service skills.I faithfully had my car serviced the entire time that I had my car. When I asked to speak with someone else at the Corporate office they decided that they will pay for the labor and I can pay for the parts. I feel that when you buy a Lexus, you should never have to worry about a issue like a melting sticky dashboard. I have purchased Hondas, Mercedes Benz, and Jaguar and never had an issue like this. I will be in the market again for a new car and I will not take a change and buy another Lexus and have to worry that the same thing will happen.

All cars have problems, but before you purchase take a look at some of the issues in the BMW section... Valve guide seals ($4k), evaporator cores ($3k), coolant leaks, multiple window regulators, transmission issues, a/c issues, water pump issues, electrical issues and even engine bolts that break off! The list goes on and on. Just do a Google search. And these are with BMWs with 50,000 and 60,000 miles. I hope that my story will convince people to do their research and at least consider the Lexus brand.I bought my Lexus GS400 in 1999, and now at 16 years old and with 215,000 miles in my opinion it is one of the most reliable vehicles ever built. If you do some research, the 1UZ-FE V8 engine produced by Toyota in the late 90s (and used in the GS, LS, Tundra, LX, etc.) is one of the most bulletproof engines ever made. It will pretty much run forever. There are vehicles with this engine on the road today with 300,000, 400,000 even 500,000 miles and more. Even though it has evolved somewhat, it is still pretty much the same V8 motor used in Lexus vehicles today. That should tell you something. Now to my vehicle. In the first 5 years of ownership, I didnt have a single problem with my car. Not one. I replaced a battery, but that is something you would do with any car. In the 6th year, the throttle body assembly needed repair, but not a big deal. In the 10th year my starter contacts went bad (they go bad in all cars) and my alternator went out (again, expected for a 10 year old car!). Other than that its pretty much been regular maintenance: oil changes, tires, brakes. In 16 years I have never changed the spark plugs!! They are original. Ive driven up and down the east coast and this car has never left me stranded.Again, do your research and choose wisely. Today, KBB values my car at about $5-6k (it was $46k originally) but it doesnt matter because if someone wanted to purchase it today I would say its not for sale. I am keeping this one. Im sure Ill purchase a 2nd vehicle one day for fun - maybe a convertible - and guess what brand that will be? A Lexus of course! Even then Im not trading in my GS400 - this car is staying in my garage.

I purchased my 2012 Lexus in 2013 with a little over 6,000 miles. I paid extra for the additional warranty and the Auto Butler which is supposed to protect your car from scratches, etc. This is a car that retails over $50,000.00. There is only one driver (which is shouldnt matter) and the front and back seats which are leather is cracking. There has been minimal use in this vehicle. I took it to Freeman Lexus and they admitted that other customers have the same complaint but its not covered under the warranty and Corporate would have to cover it. I contacted Corporate and they said they wouldnt do anything about it.This car is too new to have this issue and is a factory defect or inferior product of leather if you ask me. I do NOT recommend anyone purchasing a Lexus especially if you expect to have a luxury car and put out 50k+. I owned a 2006 Lexus and never had problems. Apparently, Lexus pricing has increased substantially and their quality has declined along with their service. Shame on Lexus for using poor products and costing consumers.

This car brand is very sure to leave you pleased. From the amazing air condition to the heated seats, making it perfect for any kind of weather condition. It travels well and is very available in price range. However, only the most special people deserve this car. So go out and get it now! Also, the appearance is impeccable, seriously a real stunner and ranking number one on looks. Lexus should be known for just the fact that the car itself is one of the best. Some may not like the design. But it is actually the classiest and sexiest car there is. Although you will need a contract, Lexus is very open to upgrades and letting you the buyer choose the looks and features they want what they travel in to be. I love driving a Lexus, but being in passenger seat? Also a great choice. With all the cool features the driver get, passenger can sit back and relax, preferably with a heated bosom.

My 2004 RX330 was purchased new. It has 26,000 miles and been garaged, never wrecked. My dashboard has a large crack above the glove compartment. My Lexus dealer in Melbourne, Florida acknowledged that the dashboard cracking problem is widespread due to material defect. We have been a two car Lexus family for 10 years. I received a letter from Lexus today informing me that my two Lexus cars (IS 250 and ES 350) will be recalled at some point in the future due to a defect in the Takata Front Passenger Airbag Inflator. It said the airbag can deploy due to this defect and possibly send metal fragments through the airbag striking and possibly injuring or killing the vehicle occupant. It also said that Lexus is working on preparing a remedy and will send another notification when the remedy becomes available. Then it says What should you do? Until the remedy becomes available, we recommend that you do not operate the vehicle with an occupant in the front passenger seat.So their solution is to not have us drive with anyone in the passenger seat until some unknown time in the future (1 month? 6 months? 1 year? 2 years?), when they finally contact us to fix the defect. This is unacceptable. How are families that need to use the passenger seat to carry everyone supposed to function with this solution? They need to come up with a short time fix until the longer term problem can be resolved, e.g., remove the deadly airbag in the near term and replace it at some point in the future. We have seat belts that can protect the passenger in the meantime and the seat belt will not kill someone unexpectedly. My impression is Lexus sent his note because they are more concerned about their legal liability if the defect occurs and less concerned about how thousands families with IS 250 or ES 350 are suppose operate day to day and never use the passenger seat until Lexus determine the best method for minimizing their costs to address this issue.

Had to replace my windshield for the 2017 RX350. It has been two weeks today. Giving various reasons for the delay and informed that it will be another 6 days, since the windshield is on back order. Shocked to find out that a Company like Lexus manufactures cars with various computerized options that are in the windshield and not produce extra windshield. Building about 1000 cars a day, can we not produce a few extra windshields. After all windshields crack often. Feeling frustrated. Looked at a Caddy. Maybe American made is better. But that is hindsight.

In 2008, we purchased a new 2008 RX-350 from a Portland area Lexus. Prior to purchasing the vehicle we spent months researching the Lexus brand, reliability and customer satisfaction. We are over 3 hours away from the closest Lexus dealer. Having heard and read mostly good reviews, we opted to purchase the vehicle described. We have taken excellent care of the vehicle and all of our maintenance has been maintained current by our only local Lexus family Toyota dealership in our area. The vehicle has never been in an accident. Seven years later we have had several unexpected repairs required to keep the vehicle running. First was the NOC sensor (slightly under $1000). Second was the rack and pinion (slightly over $1000). And the latest was a transmission replacement. The vehicle is just outside the powertrain warranty. The total costs of these repairs has been over $7200. Even the local Toyota service representative said this should not happen with this car.I have contacted the Lexus goodwill assistance number and they agreed to pay for the parts for the latest repair. While that is good of them, it is my opinion that the loyalty of Lexus belongs to their company rather than their customers and they certainly choose not to stand behind their luxury product. It is disappointing Lexus does not show the same loyalty to its customers when excessive repairs are required to what should have been a more reliable vehicle. I would like others to be aware of the Lexus quality of service and loyalty and recommend that you buy a car from Honda/Acura whom we have had excellent service from and been shown truly good loyalty and certainly stand behind their product.

Ive been a Lexus owner for many years but recently got a shock on the service charge.. Very high compared to previous services. On examination, most things listed were checked and the supposed listing of balanced all wheels Im told by insider staff did not take place, as did a number of other things. Its likely less than 2 hours was spent on the service but they charged the full service fee. On top of that there is an unexplained miscellaneous charge. I doubt many of the things listed took more than a min or 2 and the labour charge is inflated. I suspect these costs are deliberately inflated motivated by greed, personal bonuses etc and it seems to me that Lexus has changed its approach from providing clear and reasonable service to customers to one of ripping them off and not caring at all.Owners should be told in advance of the basic cost of a service and not be surprised by large charges, and clearer explanations should be given. This is the norm for any service e.g. visiting the Dr or any other professional or trade services. There seems to be an attitude at Lexus that its a prestige car, therefore customers should pay more. Some friends and colleagues also with Lexus cars have found the same.. ie increase in charges without notice and the lack of pre service consultation. Lexus used to have my loyalty and trust.. No more..

My 2013 Lexus ES 350 started leaking not long after we bought it new in August 2013. We have an automatic car wash by our house that we have used for years with no problems. My 13 Lexus always leaks and it has been to the dealership five times to figure out why. I even called them one morning on my way to work because rain was leaking in the roof. I was informed yesterday that the dealership got Lexus involved and that their response was that their car is not designed to go through a high pressure car wash and that it could not be fixed. I was shocked and terribly disappointed by their response. None of my previous cars, nor any of our friends or family who have cars with sunroofs have had a problem at this car wash, but Lexus cant design their car to go through leak free!? If they fixed it or told me they were still going to try and figure it out, it would be a little easier to accept, but to tell the consumer that essentially their car is not built well enough to withstand the same conditions as every other make and model out there indicates to me that it is not fit for operation and not worthy of its price tag!

I have a Lexus GS 300 2006 with less than 100k miles. I took my car to Westminster Lexus about 6 months ago because of stalling and poor acceleration. The service dept stated that they would put my car on a machine to see what was wrong with it. They called me back and said the machine didnt indicate any problems. But they changed a few filters and said that should correct the problem. Needless to say, that did not correct the problem and the car is still doing the same thing. When I took the car in, they charged me $75 to run the test plus the cost of the filters. Now, I called them back and told them that I am having the same problem and I need to bring it back and wanted to know if I would be charged again. The gentlemen on the phone said I would be charged again and there was nothing they could do about it at all. So now, I need to take the car back, pay again and there is no guarantee they are going to fix it. I’m very angry about this.

Im just really disappointed the Lexus ES 350 - 2007 vehicle I purchased brand new, has only lasted 7 years. At the 5 year point, I had to have major repairs on it to include the water pump, thermostatic?/head gasket, battery, etc... and then, not even two years later, Im being told I need the head gasket and engine replaced. And this still happened after having consistent, routine maintenance on the vehicle, as prescribed by Lexus! When I spoke with the dealership, the service consultant relayed she wouldnt talk to me over the phone and I would need to bring the car in. Ok, I just had the car towed to a local Lexus-certified dealership (Toyota), why would I then have it towed another 26 miles just for Lindsay Lexus to tell me the same thing, and add a hefty charge for doing so! Needless to say, I will never purchase another Lexus... Im just so disappointed at this time.

After purchasing two Lexus’, I thought I would stick with the brand for a very long time. This will probably not be the case. After having a series of very negative experiences with my 17 RC350, I will most likely never buy another Lexus. A little while after purchasing the RC it started developing a tapping sound. This noise continued to get louder and I was able to hear it from inside the cabin of the vehicle. I was able to locate the noise coming from the mechanical fuel pump. I took it in to my local dealer for repair. They told me they were unable to duplicate the concern and the assistant service manager displayed no customer service skills whatsoever in any attempt to help me with my issue.I contacted the Service manager the next business day and was able to come in and work with him and the diagnostic tech to duplicate this noise. We spent an hour test driving and listening to another RC they had on the lot. I was told to make another appointment and they would take another look at it. While it was in this time, the dealer involved the regional field specialist and dug deeper. I was ultimately told that even though they were able to duplicate this concern, it was normal operation.I made a complaint with Lexus customer care and this complaint was escalated twice. Two of the three people I spoke to at Lexus were more interested in talking than actually listening to my concern and again showing any kind of customer service. This includes the last individual who was the highest executive level I could escalate this. They made it very apparent that they were not interested in assisting a repeat customer with a valid concern. They made it very clear that losing any further business was less important than repairing my fuel pump.Lexus advertises their luxury vehicles to be the quietest on the road, but when you bring them a valid noise complaint they don’t want to honor the bumper to bumper factory warranty. This is the opposite of what I expect when I invest in a luxury car company most of all Lexus. I did quite a bit of my own independent research and determined that fuel pumps are a bit of a sore spot with Lexus and a bit of an Achilles heel.My vehicle shares the same fuel pump as the IS and the GS. I was given a 2019 GS as a loaner vehicle and the fuel pump was at least 80% quieter. I was also able to determine that the fuel pump for all these cars has 4 successive part numbers. Lexus has obviously redesigned this part several times for important reasons. I am left to wonder if my generation was updated due to excessive noise. Ultimately the unwillingness of Lexus to take responsibility for their product and their customer service leaves me no other choice but to leave record of this and let others know what I have experienced.

It does not provide a lot of passenger capacity but it makes up that with other features that the brand offers in its vehicles overall. My wife purchased her second new Lexus SUV in 2013 and was a diehard Lexus repeat customer. Her new Lexus RX450H is an expensive luxury class vehicle, and she justifiably had expectations that it would be a safe, reliable, and comfortable vehicle. It turned out that it is none of the above, and furthermore the Lexus people not only don’t stand behind their product, but knowingly deceive their customers regarding the quality of their products at the time of purchase. This vehicle and many other Lexus models have a faulty evaporator component in the air conditioning system which drains condensation into the cabin causing mildew and bacteria to develop and grow. We became aware of this after the terrible smell inside the vehicle became noxious. The Henderson, Nevada dealership where we purchased changed the filters at our cost and the problem persisted.Eventually, we learned that Lexus was aware of the vehicle’s defect when they sold us the car. Now, there are class action suits against Lexus for this specific defect, and the corporate office’s refusal to remedy the defect. While the corporate office acknowledges the defect and has issued several Technical Service Bulletins, or TSBs, which gave guidance to the dealerships and suggested specific language to placate the customers concerns, no recall has been made and Lexus admits they do not have a plan to fix the defect. After numerous attempts to resolve the issue on our part we have not received satisfaction in resolution of this defect. The corporate office claims resolution lies with the dealership, and vice versa. What is dispositive is that Lexus products are not the reliable vehicle they once had a reputation as, and after sale customer service is deplorable. So, look a little further if you are considering the purchase of a Lexus in the luxury vehicle market.

On May 9, 2012, I purchased a used 2004 Lexus RX 330 for $14,600. I put a down payment of about $6,000 down and financed about $10,000. My payments are for 3 years at around $240. I found out that this vehicle’s sunroof had been leaking and as a result of the sunroof leaking, that carpet has built up mold and was needed to be replaced. They also found out that there were other things on vehicle that needed replacing; seat belt in the rear seat, front arm controls needed to be replaced, radiator needed to replaced, engine cap was clogged, bushing needed to be replaced, the extra key needed a battery, several dents on the vehicle, tires needed to be replaced and several dents and items that needed to be replaced on the vehicle. The manufacturer advised me that the vehicle was not safe to be on the street without these repairs. I took my concern to Steven and he told me several times that he was not going to fix the problem because he did not have to. He insulted me and my relative and he became very belligerently loud and abusive for no reason. I left the premises and advised him I would be back. It has been 1 month later and this situation has not, up to now, been resolved. Can you please help, because I am paying for car insurance and I have the car payment? This vehicle is just sitting in my driveway for the last 2 months. I have had to rent a rental so that I could pick up and take my son back and forth to college. I hope you can help.

This Lexus 350 ES is very comfortable, roomy, smooth & quiet ride. Also good looking, feels heavy on the road, great services. Had to get the ES since RX too high for me - not comfortable on my back. Convenient dealer for service and free, unlimited car washes!!! 5th Lexus purchased - some different models RX & ES, great service all over the world and especially from this dealer. I love the ease of a loaner when they are doing work on my car. But I would like a tighter turning radius for the car and to have the ES in a hatchback type of rear for larger packages, luggage, etc. Better gas mileage, cheaper price in purchase and service too.

Very easy and enjoyable experience. Lexus is a brand name that you can trust. They always have the newest safety features and all models that youve seen on TV or while driving your previous vehicle. And the cars are durable! These cars are beautiful. The bodies are sleek, yet built to stand any kind of unexpected damage. These vehicles always seat as comfortably as you would assume. If you have children, rest assured they will be safe and have enough room to stretch out in the back seat area. You can also count on this company to offer as many upgrades as they have readily available. If not, theyll add them to the model of your choice. Theyre the newest and most needed upgrades.

I love the brand. It has smooth sleek lines, beautiful heavy tires, chrome features, lavish detail, rich and beautiful colors. They are like riding on clouds and make every driver feel like theyre royalty. I feel like a world renowned superstar and the world and roads are my stages. Though it is a luxury car, it seats a full family very savvy and comfortably. Leather seats and plush detailing makes for very smooth sailing. Plus, the cars are very easy to optionalize and upgrade. Every driver can personally make their luxury liner their own. Truly the envy of everyone else on the road.

Lexus GX460 is a great vehicle, a true SUV. The only negative is poor gas mileage coupled with a small gas tank; so many gas stops on long trips. Nevertheless, perfect size for four adults. Billed as a 7 passenger, not even close unless 3 of those are small children and you don’t have any luggage or bags of any size. With 4 adults you do have enough cargo room for 2 adults and 2-3 children.

I am on my third IS Model Lexus and like the product. Unfortunately I have found my new 2016 IS 300 AWD stalls or feels like fuel starvation when I sometimes go to make a turn either right or left at low speeds or intersections. It becomes very concerning when you are turning into traffic or across traffic and it feels like you will not make it across the intersections. The yellow flashing engine light comes on but I have notified the dealership 3 times (at Service Intervals) and no fault can be found. Has anyone else experienced similar challenges with their Lexus IS 300 AWD too?

I have been leasing a 2015 Lexus CT200h. Within 6 months into my lease radio started turning off and resetting back to factory settings. Meaning all my channels, bass, treble settings all of that got deleted. Bluetooth would have to be reconnected each time. I reached out to Lexus of Seattle immediately to resolve the issue. The dealer told me theres nothing they can do about it.. Shocker.. I then reached out to customer satisfaction who then arranged for the car to be looked at, at Lexus of Bellevue. They began telling me its my phone, or my bluetooth connection. After going through 3 different phones and the issue persisting they finally had a technician who was able to have the same issue happen to him while he was connected on HIS personal cell phone. So finally they agreed to replace the radio with a NEW radio. Well after installment of the new radio turns out it wasnt so new, and more than like refurbished because someone else was already listed on the bluetooth connectivity. I had pointed this out to the dealer who simply told me to deal with it and there is nothing else they can do. Fast forward 2.5 years later I am driving a LEXUS with a radio that goes out every other time I drive it. I AGAIN reached out to customer satisfaction which at this point, mind you, this is 3 brand new phones later, 2 stereos later, customer satisfaction is telling me I need to go to the dealer AGAIN, have them mimic the problem AGAIN, (mimicking the problem could take several tries and several trips) and go through the whole procedure which I already had gone through, AGAIN! I kept on explaining to them that there is not justifying this kind of nonsense. If this vehicle clearly has a flaw, either take the vehicle back and call it a lemon or stop wasting my time! This vehicle is a lemon! I have told them this so many times and all they say is that because it is not a safety issue they will not consider it as a lemon. Well, it is a safety issue! When I am driving on the freeway and the radio goes out on a 2015 Lexus am I to pull over every time and quickly try to reset all my channels just so I can have the luxury of listening to music?? Or perhaps I should drive in silence and just reminisce on the good old days when a 1999 Ford would have a working stereo with no issues? This is a safety issue. It distracts me from my drive. It interrupts my drive! I will never consider buying a Lexus again! There has been ZERO customer satisfaction in my whole experience since driving off the lot on this godawful car and the run around that I have been put on to resolve an issue on THEIR car! Its a lease. Its not even my car and Lexus has done nothing to ensure that I am satisfied. Lexus should be embarrassed that a 2015 Lexus doesnt have an operable stereo. So much for Pursuit of perfection. What a joke. I am sure there are by far better manufacturers that appreciate their consumers and go above and beyond to ensure that the consumer is happy. At this point Lexus Customer Satisfaction is telling me to either keep wasting my time, gas, money to go to a dealer to diagnose the faulty stereo (which as stated above has ALREADY BEEN DONE) or there is nothing else they can do... Boy Lexus you really have screwed your reputation. Never did I think I would be saying this about Lexus. Thanks to the lovely Lexus dealers that were least bit helpful, and thank you to Customer satisfaction, the irony in that, I will never been buying, looking, considering or recommending a Lexus to anyone.

We have owned about 9 Lexus over the past 20 years. All great vehicles. In March 2016 we purchased a new Rx 350. At about 6000 miles it started surging and hesitating. Cruise control is almost usable. Our horror started in February 2017 when we complained about issue. Lexus acknowledged there was a issue and fix was on the way. About 3 weeks later Lexus called and said fix was in, we carried vehicle to Lexus for a 15 minute fix. There was no improvement. When I complained, Lexus said I needed to talk to Lexus customer care. After 4 months and carrying complaint to arbitration, big joke, Lexus said vehicle was satisfactory. I am stuck with a lemon.

I had a worst case scenario of a safety recall: defective valves broke and I had total engine failure. Lexus did honor the repair, though I was under 100k mileage, I was over 3 yrs. They kept car 3 wks, replace one engine block and the valves. I paid for brakes, flushing system, and a new starter (car suddenly didnt start when I went to pick up car after 3 wks. Strange! Starter was another $1300. Car has 67,000 miles. This car is terrible... The brakes I can feel under foot and they sound like they need new brakes, not like they just had a brake job. The engine runs rough and loud. Makes some noises. The car also has a roar. The driver door even squeaks now and the whole car makes a noise and is rough. Its embarrassing! Has anyone had any problems? They had to take it apart and put it back together... Im thinking they didnt do a good job. Its not the same car. Any help or advise? I dont even know what to tell them.

I was looking for a nice sedan, and all the options available really blew me away. Very glad that I had decided to go with Acura over other options that were out there. A major selling point for me was the quality and sturdiness of the power windows. I was looking for something that will last me and not cost an arm and a leg when they break down so frequently. Ive had motors for windows go bad in several of my previous cars, so it was a must to find a brand with quality power windows. The windows work really well. The car is mainly for myself so I could really care less about the space, but if I do ever have passengers, Im pretty certain they will be very comfortable and that is awesome. I believe I will be staying with Acura the next time I am shopping for a vehicle.

I have a 2005 RX330 with 87640 miles on it. I have taken it to Lexus for almost everything because I wanted it to last a while. I went to get it inspected yesterday and was told that it failed inspection because I have to replace the PS rack and hose that are leaking - estimated at 1750 +350. So far this year I have paid almost $4,000 for repairs including new tires, new struts and tire alignment (twice - first time alignment did not work). When I looked this up and read some of the reviews, it appears I have company for this issue and others like the dashboard cracking, headlights, etc. I dont know what to do now - fix it and hope the problems stop or cut my losses and trade it in. In any case, I think that Lexus should pay attention to this and cover at least part of the cost as this is not due to wear and tear. I had a Mercedes with almost 350,000 miles on it and did not have all of these problems.

Lexus reliability and service is mostly what I recommend. We own two Lexus and going forward, will probably always own Lexus vehicles. They are comfortable riding and driving with almost no road noise. The instrument panel and in dash navigation system and music system is very good. AND, the handling and responsiveness of the vehicle. We had an issue with our Lexus SUV in that the front end alignment would not stay in place for even a month. We went on line and saw that several Lexus owners had reported the problem. Lexus worked with us to find a solution and shouldered the cost of fixing the problem. The proposed solution worked and the fact that they covered the cost was a very pleasant surprise. Yes the car was under manufacturers warranty, but past experience has been that the dealership finds a reason why is not a warranty issue and passes the cost onto the car owner.

ES-350 - I have till this past year been a loyal Lexus customer. Every three years I would replace my lease with an equivalent vehicle (recently the ES-350). Turning in the car this time was brutal. They treated me so poorly, they lied to me, they overstated the wear and tear and they overtly took advantage of me. When I asked why they were doing so, the answer was because we can. Ultimately, they wore me down and I said - Forget it. I wont turn my vehicle in to you and Ill buy it out. I did so knowing that I would never buy a Lexus again. Recently a friend of mine asked me about cars - knowing that I had been a loyal Lexus customer. I convinced them not to buy a Lexus and when they agreed to defer to my advice, I knew that I was finally getting back at the folks at Lexus. I will continue to do so - why? Because I can!

I took my 2011 RX 350 in because I noticed a small bubble in the side of my rear driver’s side tire. The dealer told me it was not covered under the warranty because it was a road hazard. This is nothing but an excuse not to cover it. If it were a road hazard then there would be some kind of mark on the rim and/or the side of the tire, but there is none on either. I feel that this is a defect in the tire and should be covered under the warranty. It probably started out very small and is now about an inch and a half long, from the tread inward. This car only has 7,400 miles on it. This is my second lease of a Lexus. I feel I should be treated better than this and the tire should be replaced.I would like someone to contact me regarding this ASAP. Regards,Steve **

I am a current owner and driver of a 2007 Lexus is250. This car was purchased brand new in October 2006 from the Westminster Lexus dealership. Since the very beginning this car has had many problems which include numerous manufacturer recalls. In 2011, shortly before the warranty expired, the navigation unit went out. By the time the car was taken in, it was 60 miles over the warranty miles (Warranty was void because of mileage not years). The dealership said that we would have to pay for the repairs and quoted the repair to be $2,300+. Also around this time, the dashboard began to get sticky. Another repair that would have to be fixed out of pocket. This car has been very well taken care of. We made sure that we followed all the manufacturers recommendations on how to properly care for this car. We have never used any solvent or spray on the dashboard and followed the recommendations to use warm water. A sunshade has been used since the first day to shield the sun away from the dark interior. I have tried countless times to see if any Lexus dealership could help me out because this has to be a manufacturers defect but no dealership has offered to help. I have met several Lexus owners that have experienced the same problems. I have read on online forums even more people from all parts of the United States and in the U.K. who have the same problems. I am not as concerned with the little problems with the car as much as I am with the navigation unit and the dashboard. I finally decided to contact Consumer Affairs after a friend suggested I do. She has a separate problem with her Lexus and said that bringing this to your attention may finally get results. I feel as though buyers of Lexus are getting the short end of the stick. We spend so much money purchasing a luxury car but end up with a defective vehicle that requires more money to fix. Im not even going to go into details about the cars paint.

My Lexus LX SUV is pearl white and despite it being over ten years old I get compliments on a regular basis. It still drives wonderfully and I havent had any issues with it either. The leather interior, heated seats, and built in GPS makes ride very comfortable. It also offers plenty of space for passengers to enjoy their ride. There is enough space for 5 to have plenty of room, including plenty of leg space for backseat passengers as well, which makes the LX perfect for long distance trips.

For two generations, our family has been very loyal by purchasing Toyota cars to drive. For the last 40 years, our family has purchased and driven at least 25 Toyota cars. But we were disappointed with our brand new 2007 Lexus ES350. On December 27th, 2012, I read the article on Yahoo news about the Toyota Motors agreement for settlement of Unintended Acceleration. Well, I owned this 2007 Lexus ES350 and experienced that sudden acceleration problem when the car was set on cruise control driving on the freeway. Therefore, I submitted a written letter by email to Toyota Motors explaining my findings. The reasons for selling this car are because (1) I never heard any reply back from Toyota Motors after submitting a letter to customer service. (2) my wife and family members in Asia was afraid of us driving it in the United States with an accident. Furthermore, they live very far away to come to our immediate attention if we were involved in an accident. (3) Lastly, there were sad news happening here and there because of this sudden acceleration issue. Finally, I sold the car to CarMax dealership in Monrovia, California in March of 2011 with less than 7,000 miles on the odometer. At first, I even went to Longo Lexus/ Toyota (which is the largest Toyota dealership in the United States) to sell the car back, but they explained that there is no recall on my car. The Longo Lexus service foreman even went on a test drive with me in my car and on the street. Also, Longo Lexus/ Toyota refused to give me a reasonable offer to buy my car back. I paid $40,000 brand new and sold the car at a big loss for only $24,000 to CarMax with less than 7,000 miles on the odometer because we were afraid to drive the car.Continuously, our friends and family comfort me that life is more valuable than losing money on a known trouble car. How come Toyota never bothered to help when we have an issue? What happened to good old Toyota reputation? Kindly help me in this matter!

We leased a brand new Lexus LS460 and when the lease term had ended, we had a lot of credit balance left over and finally we just decided to purchase the vehicle since we hadnt driven it that much. We noticed that our Lexus LS460 also has a chrome rim and because of it, its losing air for unknown reasons. We replaced the tires several times and finally found out that the chrome rim has tendencies to lose air due to it being chip or being rotten with time especially from Texas heat. We went numerous time to the dealer but never got a proper answer. We were not sure if there was a nail or if it was because of the chrome wheel that caused the tire pressure to be that low. The service and parts are so expensive that it will be too difficult to maintain it. Secondly, we never received any kind of recall notices from the company although we lived same place for years.

The dash started developing very fine hairline cracks about a year ago. Over the last month the cracks have gotten much worse. I have seen even picked up small foam pieces on the floor coming from the dash. It is a real shame since I otherwise like this car. I have informed LEXUS Customer Service via e-mail with pictures about this quality problem and they asked me to take the car to a dealer for evaluation. The dealers replacement estimate was $2519.00. I informed customer Service about the cost and was told that the car was out of warranty... They did not have to offer anything to get it fixed but will give me 25% off the repair. This would still cost me $1889.25, totally unacceptable. I have owned many cars brands in the past and none of them ever had a quality issue like this. When buying a very expensive car anyone expects top quality. I do not understand is why there is such a big cost difference between various dealers for the same repair (based on other posts). Recent history shows that Toyota is reluctant to stand behind their products and if there is a class action lawsuit, I would like to know how to join. Unless Toyota comes forward with a better offer this will be the last car I have bought from them.

I recently emailed Lexus Brand Experience about the horrible service I have received with my new Lexus ES350 FSport. This was on 12/29 and I have yet to hear back. Just another testament to why I will never buy a Lexus again. It all started from the salesperson telling us that we had 2 free oil changes that come to find out is not true. Then after bringing my car home, noticing it has a very small chip on the gas cap & the salesperson telling us Oh well, you took it home, nothing we can do. Each time Ive taken my car in for service it has not gone smoothly. The 2nd time taking it in they rotated my tires & since then my car has not driven the same. Took it in for the 3rd time and when I bring this up, the service writer proceeds to tell me that they could balance them for $90 & had I brought it in immediately after that they would have fixed it. Im trading in my car and will never recommend Lexus to anyone!

My GPS system totally went out on me. I spoke with a co-worker of mine who owns a 2006, and the exact same thing happened to her. She told me to go on Consumer Reports and look up this is a well known issue and Lexus is doing nothing about it to fix the issue. I called Lexus to inquire about the issue. The woman over the phone told me out her mouth there have been some cars my brand with GPS issues, but my car is no longer covered under warranty and it could cost me up to $2000 to fix the issue. I bought this car brand new, and this is supposed to be the best of the best. I was told when I purchased the car Lexus honors their mistakes, but it doesnt seem like they are doing it now. This isnt fair to the customer at all. They charge over $5000 for the GPS and in a few years while you’re still paying for the car the GPS breaks down, and they wont cover the cost to fix it. I am very disappointed in Lexus. I thought they had a customer first approach. I am also letting headquarters know how disappointed I am.

Again, there were no warning lights until right before the engine seized. Repairs were estimated at 7500 dollars for a used engine that was not even a Lexus engine. Every statistic and fact out there indicates that service gives any company a competitive advantage, and the lack of it can be the demise of the business. When did money become first over the customer? When did customer service get so bad? I didnt expect this from Lexus. Especially since Lexus takes proud in their service and their name. I called customer service because I was told to by the service manager at my local dealership. Only with the intention of them helping me with a solution to my problem. My SD card slot cover is missing. Unfortunately for me Lexus doesnt sale this part individually. You have to buy a new stereo which cost $2389.00. After a few days I was told by my case manager that they find a way to help me and the dealership would be contacting me. A few minutes later she called back and said that she was told to advise me to go to a pick and pull and remove the part from a damaged car. I was truly upset and belittled at this point. So I asked for a Supervisor. The Supervisor called me back and welcomed me to the Lexus family and asked me how she could help. I explained to her what happened and she explained that the part wouldnt be covered under warranty. She called back and stated she talk to the service manager at the dealership and since I bought a used I was responsible for the missing part. Ok, thats exactly what you told me yesterday. I told her I wanted to know who advised me to go to pick and pull. She was more focused on my car being used then helping me. My car is still under warranty. Its still a Lexus what does it matter if its use? When I asked her for the service managers name she couldnt even tell me who she talked to. Which tells me she didnt look into anything. I called the dealership and the service manager said they would never recommend anyone to pick and pull. I truly believe that the service manager didnt his best to help me. I called the exclusive office to see if they could explain to me who advised me to go to pick and pull. Days later I finally got a callback. I was told that it wasnt nothing in the notes that stated that I was advised that. I asked if the calls are recorded if it could be pull for review. No call was recorded she said. How funny is that? So did I just make this all help?? Again no help!! The people that I talked to have Very Poor Customer service skills and are in need of a lot of training. I never got an apology for being told that the dealership would replace the missing part by mistake. Whats the point of having a customer service department if they cant help the customer but only make things worse. Customers want an easy experience. No hassle and no friction. Customers want to deal with knowledgeable professional people. Customers want a friendly experience. People want to be treated like people. After all, they are people – not account numbers. Use customers’ names whenever possible. Look for opportunities to build rapport and break the ice. Show that you care. That’s what friendly people (and businesses) do. Unfortunately you wont get this from Lexus.

Lexus has a wide variety of vehicles across the size ranges, from small and sporty to sport utility vehicles. Everyone knows how nice Lexus look. Its a beautiful vehicle that I am proud to drive. Its shiny, sleek, sexy... sporty and fun and it looks fast. You could upgrade any number of options, drive packages, fuel, sound, wheels, drivetrain, payment, interior and color options... The model I chose has limited passenger room by design, I only need or want room for very few passengers, no desire to be the driver of the bus sized vehicles you can have now.

We recently took our 2008 GS 350 in for a routine oil change at a Lexus dealer in Sharon - what a great and impressive building with nice people. But imagine my shock when they told us that we would need brake calipers again! This car has about 60,000 miles. The brakes, including calipers, and all the tires have already been replaced once. The brake job, including calipers, was replaced by them just a year ago. We were told that there was no warranty. As I am sure you know, this is not an inexpensive repair. We have been religious about having all service done by this same dealer. I am now wondering if this is a defect. This car is not subjected to overt or extreme temperatures. It is housed in a heated garage so what could cause new calipers to go so quickly? I would like some answers. I appreciate your time.

Overall, Lexus RX 450H 2013 is a great car. Ergonomics, not so much. Real lack of storage in front seat - not even a place to store sunglasses! But about seven places to put your water bottle. Awful design for convenience. Also, rear seats dont fold flat. Cmon, would it be that hard to do? Gas mileage is so-so, at around 24 high-test. A Santa Fe would do better.

I took my Lexus to Wilmington Delaware Koons. They say that my SUV was in good condition. Meaning no problems. I took my SUV to New York and noticed that I need an oil change. None of my filter was ever changed. The oil was dirty. I mean really look like mud. New York stated to me that I may get oil flushed and you cant let your oil get this dirty. I was really, really upset. I showed him the papers from Koons where my oil was done less than a month ago. My filters was changed. Lexus Koons took my money and never changed my oil. Lexus Koons stated that my car need a harness wire. That would cost $2900.00 plus labor. It had problems starting. My brother cleaned my battery cables. My car has been running fine.

I own a Lexus 2006 and a year ago I started noticing hairline cracks on the dashboard. I spoke with a Lexus representative and he said that Lexus is aware that it is a manufacture defect and I should take it to the dealer and they should replace it. I took it in to North Miami Lexus dealer. The guy took pictures and said that he submitted the claim. I followed up with him since he never called me back to follow up. After 5 weeks he said that Lexus will replace it but I will have to pay $1000. He also said that I can call Lexus customer service if I am not happy. I did call them and followed up with Customer Service manager, Michael, was told that since the car is outside of warranty (however, very low mileage and they recognize that, could have been covered under that) they can only extend the dealers offer and that is very fair. They never looked at the pictures since the dealer didnt upload them and apparently someone in the other department declined for Lexus to take full responsibility for the defect. After searching the issue online, I realize that I am not the only one with the same issue and that different Lexus owners were offered different deals. My belief is that they never even looked into the issue and I was given the generic answer by the customer service management. This is very disappointing and would love to join a class action suit. Lexus is aware of this defect and just getting away with it. The luxury car dealer is washing their hands off. I am not angry but very dissatisfied to look at the car everyday and see the cracks while it is suppose to be a luxury car.

My car buying experience of Lexus is awesome. Lexus has a lot of cars to choose from in its lineup. They can be on the lower range price or higher depending on what youre looking for. They are all very good vehicles with little maintenance required. The features of Lexus cars are the best out there! They have the most technologically advanced cars with dozens of features not found with other vehicles. You can upgrade a Lexus to your liking and preference. They have the most unique offerings out of any other car I have seen. You can get something less or more advanced. You can choose many different options they have available. You can get a two seater or get enough room for up to eight people. I like that they allow you to customize a car to your liking. So whether youre a family person or single youre guaranteed to find something to make you happy with Lexus!

Im the original owner of a 2005 Lexus RX 330 and its garaged daily and serviced only at the dealer. A few weeks back, the dash started showing little hairline cracks in areas above the glove compartment/airbag location and they are getting bigger by the week. I contacted Lexus’ headquarters and they will not do anything about it. The dealers tell me it was due to a faulty material used in the dash that separates and corporate is aware. But since they dont get enough complaints, they will not replace because its very costly! Thanks, Lexus, for your piece of crap car that you wont take any responsibility for. Trust me, I wont be buying your product ever again. I remained loyal to you and your dealerships for years and now you cant even stand behind your product!

I have 2 Lexus cars, one 2007 ES 350 and one 2005 RX 330. As several Lexus customers are experiencing, I too have a leaking rack and pinion on my RX 330. With just 60,000 miles plus. I found this problem when the service adviser inform me about this problem. I was surprised that this so-called quality luxury car will give us some problems at a low mileage. I just have my oil change last month and quoted me about $1,800 to repair. What a quality car we have to just spend this much for a low mileage and my wife drives this one from home to work and vice versa. Lexus should do this repairs at no cost to the customers if they want to claim that their vehicles are built with a seal good quality and workmanship and recall this vehicles because there are so many Lexus owner out there who are having the same problem. This issue should be taken seriously before anything else and serious things happens. I will never recommend Lexus to my friends so they will not experience this kind of dilemma I am experiencing and maybe patronize so other vehicles.

I have a 2008 Lexus is250, Im original owner - 36,000 miles on car & Navigation System stopped working? I have not been to the dealership yet because I wanted to do my research before talking with them. This has been talked about & an issue since 2010! Why has there been no recall? I found out that all dealerships can do a certain amount of free repairs at their discretion! With the low miles, the fact that its a known problem & I cant control my heater or air conditioner without it, making it hazardous if I need immediate window defrosting & that I will take all my info in front of a judge, hopefully they do us both a favor & just fix it for free! Has anyone else taken Lexus to small claims court? I guess I may be the first??? I can print out at least 500 complaints about issues with the Navigation System failing!!! Why hasnt Lexus done anything about this??? Theres a FB page dedicated to Why hasnt Lexus recalled their Nav System yet!!! Ill update as I move along in this process.

2008 RX 350 with 104,000 miles. I purchased extended warranty that was up 3 months ago. Took car in and was told I need a new water pump. Bearings in water pump went back causing leaking and affecting the heating and cooling system. Also need a new steering rack costing $1,700 by itself. It is also leaking. As I read through the comments Im seeing that these are consistent problems with Lexus. I usually keep cars at least 10 years. I have never owned a car that needed these type of repairs so soon. I am extremely disappointed because Lexus vehicles are supposed to be down for quality and reliability. If I had wanted a car just for appearance, I could have paid a lot less, knowing I may have to put in large repair sums. The water pump is supposed to cost over $1,000.00. Will not recommend vehicle. I purchased extended warranty knowing I was getting a reliable vehicle and probably wouldnt have to use it. But to be on the safe side because I had planned on keeping for well over 10 years. As soon as extended warranty expired, Im have costly problems.

You know I am a person who never misses a payment. Leased a vehicle and PAID the 2,000 to protect the car from flying stones. I didnt have to do that but rumor was if you lease they will ding you in the end for anything upon turning in vehicle. Paid for the extra mileage and then turned in early in West Palm Beach by 30 days under mileage because I was moving to Michigan. Sent my my 395.00 fee (what-ever in lease contract) BUT THEN SAW A FEE ADDED OF $150.00.Can you guess why they added $150.00 - never guess in a million years. REMOVAL OF A BUMPER STICKER. YEP, $150.00 because they didnt say hey you might want to remove that sticker - the finance guy who looks over the vehicle is a real **. Nope just turned over keys - thank you very much and then one month later sent me a bill that I called on to figure out $150.00 for what? Did you have a 26.2 sticker on your car? Yes. Well thats what the charge is for - removal ARE YOU GUYS SERIOUS!Wrote to the higher ups - called the people who I leased the vehicle from and no one cared and no one returned phone calls. Then had the balls to send to a collection agency. Protection plan $2,000 - one month early - under mileage that I paid for upfront! Perfect condition. So you know what screw you Lexus. I paid the $150.00 and I will tell my friends and then they will tell theirs and so on and so on about how unfair you guys were to a client. So maybe you wont post on your precious Lexus Facebook page without your people reviewing but I can post here and I can tell the world! Maybe thats my satisfaction and of course never ever lease/buy a Lexus.

I purchased a used 2008 LS460L from a Lexus dealer in Westminister, CA on 1/19/2015 - it had 90,067 miles. I have driven a 1999 LS400 with 82,000 mi that now has 225,000 mi. It has been the best car I have ever owned and never had a major expense. In fact all I have done since 2001 is put a starter in it at 151,000 mi. A broken trans. mount ($275), a rack and pinion, a cereal cable I broke, and an interior brake light bulb, 2 timing belts and two sets of iridium spark plugs - and the usual brakes, rotors and Mobil1, etc. I have never taken it to a Lexus dealer to get Charbucks and Bagels! I expected the same or better from an LS460L 15 yrs. newer ! Boy was I ever wrong. Now I have to replace both upper and lower front control arms or bushings The dealer wants $585 for ea. control arms or you can order after mkt. on EBAY, (i.e: two control arms for $189, which I did and they were put in at a shop for $180). The dealer quoted on 2/1/2013 - was $1875.81 parts plus $585 labor = $1460.81 + tax. It cost me with overnight postage from NY to Apple Valley, CA - UPS $115, parts $189, labor $180 = $393 TOTAL. The labor took two hrs. and $89 for another alignment. I still need the rear control arms put in as it is not in specs. Still!I just took the car on a road trip 3000 miles and had no problems. However the rear control arms still need to be replaced and the bushings are available on eBay for $49 for both sides, or you can pay the Lexus dealer $123.85 x 2 for control arms for both sides rear = $247.70 and $541.57 x 2 control arms - both sides 4 total $1330.84 + LABOR (?) + tax.

I am not employed by Lexus or trying to help them in any way. I am a business owner that has been in the market for a luxury car. I love this website and feel it has prevented me from making a huge financial mistake! I have always wanted an Audi and was close to purchasing their flagship A8. After reading the nightmares of Audi ownership, I started investigating Mercedes and BMW on Consumer Affairs. To make this short, the complaints on Lexus (other than an apparent common problem with their dash cracking) are NOTHING compared to the three German manufacturers! Im seeing complaints on Lexus for using a quart of oil at 120k miles? Transmission complains at 60k? Just saying, read the problems other luxury owners are having, you will feel much better! I still dont know what I will end up dropping $70-$90k on, Lexus seems kind of boring to me, but based on the complaints I am reading about them, I feel it would be a much more reliable option than most..

Do not bring your car tiki the Lexus of North Miami for service! Brought my car in to have the recalled dashboard replaced. When I picked my car up, while driving home, which is about 10-15 minutes away, I noticed my brake light was on and before I could get home my car cut off and would not start. I immediately called Lexus of North Miami and was told by the service advisor that they did nothing wrong and I would have to bring my car back to the shop. I told him how and that my battery was dead, car wont stay started. I asked if he could call roadside service to come and get my car. It didnt seem to matter to him as he said no and Id we find that the alternator and battery is dead, you will have to pay. I was in shock and disbelief bc I had just left there no more than 15 minutes ago.But what was more shocking was when I called back to speak with the Manager over Service, he had the same reaction, and seemed uninterested in the fact that I had just left the dealer and now my car wont start. Now Im upset and was in disbelief and highly disappointed that both service advisor and Manager of Service did not try to solve the problem and did not send roadside assistance to pick up my car. They showed no concern in the fact that my car was not working! And to make things worse, they said, When you bring your car in and were find its the alternator or the battery, you have to pay for it, were not liable. Oh my, could not believe this! This is suppose to be a upscale business that specializes in satisfying their customers. Well not only was I not satisfied, but I felt totally helpless. I am the owner of my third Lexus ES 350. I anticipated buying my fourth in the next couple of years. I have purchased a Lexus almost exclusively because of its reputation for quality. As I am often in my car alone, the idea of having a car that will not leave me stranded by the side of the road is paramount. I noticed initially, however, with my most recent car purchased new, the 2014 model, that it was not as quiet as my first Lexus.I let that past not attributing it to a decline in overall quality. However, I was wholly unprepared for the wholesale failure without warning of my transmission after only 74,000 miles leaving me stranded on the side of the road. I was lucky to make it to a surface street as the failure occurred on the highway. This was a car, as was the case with each of my prior purchases, that had each and every service recommended, all done by a Lexus dealer. However, I could have saved myself a tremendous amount of money, both in terms of initial outlay and maintenance cost, with a much cheaper car and received the same result. This is my LAST Lexus and last Toyota made car.

Over 6 months ago I got into an auto accident. My car damages included: my wheel hanging off, my door crunched in unable to close, my glove box smashed and completely crushed, etc. During this collision, NONE of my airbags went off, which angered me because I had an 11-year-old and 13-year-old in the car that were not protected. After doing some research in my car, I found out that I had EIGHT airbags in just the front seat of my car. An impact such as this should have caused at least one of the airbags deploying.I contacted Lexus about this when my accident happened (back in August of 2013) and they said they would inspect the car. After they inspected my vehicle they said they would get back to me within a month about the results. I waited a month...then two months and called corporate offices. I was told that someone will get back to me. Three months.. Four months... Five months...SIX months and they have neglected to return any emails of mine or even give me an ounce of respect. My car is over $35,000 and to be treated like this makes me sick!!The damages to my car were over $8,000 including all new module systems in my vehicle because they were found faulty. I have all my receipts about my damages and Lexus refuses to even answer me! When it comes to the safety of my children, I do not allow people to push me to the side. Purchased a 2012 CT200h in July 2016. The car was advertised as certified but ended up not being certified due to the airbag recall. Bought the car due to my previous experience with Toyota/Lexus being highly reliable car and it also only had 31k miles. Soon after driving off the lot noticed a clicking noise every time you brake. Figured it was a cv axle noise so waited until the first service to address(car also had drivetrain warranty remaining). Took the car in for the 35k service and dealer diagnosed the noise as a failing brake actuator and recommended replacing it for $3450.The dealer and I opened a case with Lexus customer service. After 2 weeks I get a call saying they do not fix noise issues under warranty. Even if my car was certified they still would not fix it. Went to talk to dealer next day and the service manager told me his CT200h makes the same noise and it doesnt bother him. Dealer also told me I should have bought an extended warranty (Right after telling me even the warranty doesnt cover it!?!?!?!). Escalated the Case with Lexus and received a callback saying nothing has failed so I just need to deal with the noise. After this experience Id recommend to stay away from Lexus. Once you drive off the lot it doesnt matter if you have a used or new car they do not care if you are satisfied with the product or not. Considered trading in my CT200h for a brand new one, but that wouldnt help my issue because they told me even if it was brand new and the brake actuator made the same loud clicking noise every time I touch the brake pedal it wouldnt be covered or fixed. So Ill look at other brand cars to spend 40K on.

This time the 2007 Lexus ES 350 with just 34,000 miles encountered a problem with the passenger window as it would no longer function properly. What I learned is that the window mechanism is so cheaply made that the plastic parts just broke apart. This design flaw resulted in a five hundred dollar plus repair bill that stole hard-earned dollars from other priorities my family has at this time. When I needed to truly rely upon Lexus reliability during challenging economic times, you let me and my family down. What is concerning is the fact the other three windows will certainly face the same catastrophic failure. (And surprisingly, considering the fact that the windows are hardly ever used as the Florida heat makes the AC priority one). The bottom line is this: Why would I ever buy another Lexus product when price and value are so far apart? Please let me know how you may be able to help given the aforementioned situation that my family and I currently find ourselves in.Lexus Service Specialists phone reply: As you did not visit our service department and took your car to a private repair facility, you voided your warranty. My car was well out of warranty, but they said that the CPO (certified pre-owned) Warranty would have covered this had I gone to the dealer. Well actually, the CPO would not cover a window repair; but the Service Specialists... they would have helped if I would have asked. Wow, with my other Lexus which had several service issues, the dealership was very specific that the warranty did not cover my problem and all costs would be borne by me. It is so sad to be witnessing the demise of the famed Lexus brand name. My friends and neighbors, who also own Lexus products, have also commented never again when asked if they would purchase another Lexus, as their own experiences have been much worse than mine… so sad.

I bought a brand new Lexus GS 350 in December from Lexus dealer in Raleigh
I bought a brand new Lexus GS 350 in December from Lexus dealer in Raleigh NC. I paid $3000 for Navigation system in car. Car itself sticker price over $50,000.Navigation system had older road map, and 3-year old roads does not exist in this system. I asked Lexus dealer in Raleigh NC to update system, which most $100, navigation system offers free. Lexus want additional $250 for changing this software after paying all the prices for the car and very expensive price for a GPS Navigation system. SO for any one buying a new car, ask the dealer to install a new software before you pay for the old system.

I leased a 2013 Lexus ES350 from Sewell Lexus in Fort Worth on Oct. 18, 2013. This is the 4th or 5th Lexus ES350 that I have leased and have been very satisfied until this car. We are both retired and have less than 9000 miles on it. We had driven this car without any problems up until Dec. 2014. In Dec. 2014 we went to start the car and the battery was dead. Sewell sent roadside service and replaced the battery. All was good until April 2015. Same problem, dead battery. They checked it out and said everything was good. In April 2015 same problem. They have checked it out. Cannot find problem. Said we dont drive it enough. If so, how did we drive it for over one year with no problems. Anyone else have same problem?

Exploding glass moonroofs. If you are investigating the purchase of a Lexus
Exploding glass moonroofs. If you are investigating the purchase of a Lexus with a glass moonroof...beware. They have a tendency to explode for no reason. I was on a desert highway with no vehicles in front of me and all of a sudden my sunroof/moonroof exploded. It sounded like a gun going off over my head and it nearly caused me to wreck it had shocked me so much. I did a little research and apparently this issue is an ongoing one with many other drivers reporting the exact circumstance. The Lexus corporate folks are very, very rude about this and will not help you or offer to pay for what is obviously a manufacturer defect.Very sad to see they will not stand by their product. I will be seeking legal remedy but in the meanwhile, if you must buy a Lexus, stay away from the cars with the glass moonroofs. You could be driving and not only have a sudden shock that can scare the life out of you but if your interior moonroof shade is also open at the same time, you could get badly injured by the falling broken glass shards. Very dangerous.

I own a RX 330 which I take pride in servicing and has always relied on Lexus to do all my services even though they are twice as expensive. December 2013, I spent over $3000.00 in service charge of which included four new tires. I had a flat on the road that was not repairable. I called Lexus dealership in east Hartford, Connecticut. I was told that the new tires I had bought has no warranty. I asked why wasnt I told that at the time of purchase so I could at least make an informed decision to purchase or not. I got the runaround from customer service after holding on the phone for at least twenty five minutes. I was desperate so I asked about giving me a discount on another tire. They denied me that also. I ended up buying another tire from another vender in desperation. I pursued the matter and filed a complaint with Lexus headquarters who did not help the situation any but told me they are not in the tire business and there is nothing they can do for me. Mind you, this is only less than three months after purchasing four new tires. My plan was to purchase my next car from Lexus but with this experience, Infiniti or Acura is looking like a better choice. They so refuse to take responsibility for numerous customer complaints about headlights fogging up.

I purchase a new 2018 Lexus 350RX three weeks ago. I am extremely disappointed in the Navigation System. First, it seems to take several minutes before the car connects to the service. I asked for direction to a well known business, and was told they could not find it. Please hang up and try again. I tried again, this time they could not find the business, but worse they could not locate my car. Asked if I was near the airport! No it was not. What if this was an emergency and they can’t find me!Yesterday, asked for directions to a Civic Arts Theater, they had the correct address but the nav. system took me to a residential, dead end street. I could see the theater but could not get to it. It wasn’t even the correct street. Again, asked for a restaurant by name - it took me to a location on a freeway. I could see the restaurant from the freeway, and eventually found it. Now, I use Waze. This system doesn’t come close to OnStar.

I recently had the experience of being denied repairs of my Lexus (VIN 2T2B
I recently had the experience of being denied repairs of my Lexus (VIN 2T2BK1BA7AC015824). A known problem exists in the steering column of my particular model, a 2010-2011 Lexus RX350. So, this parts failing falls under the following: (1) a known problem by Lexus and (2) a very new car still under warranty. The only caveat to this situation is that I travel for work, and I spend some of my time in Minsk. I have a Lexus sedan here in the United States, and only just recently took the RX 350 to be my car in Minsk. There, I began to discover the steering noise issue. I understand that the standard procedure for Lexus would be to only cover warranty issues within the United States.I personally feel that this is a special case; I will have to have the vehicle repaired in Europe, so I am prepared to pay for the labor through a Lexus dealer, but I strongly feel that the $1700, plus part I had to order to replace an existing flaw in my Lexus, should not be paid by me. As mentioned, I purchased this Lexus in the United States, I still own another Lexus in the United States, and one day, I will return this Lexus to the United States. My request to have this part paid for has been denied. I find this very hard to believe. The trend with many large companies is a disregard towards customer service that will build brand loyalty. I did not think Lexus was one of these companies, and I am deeply disappointed. It has been my understanding that Lexus leads the industry in retaining the highest percentage of vehicle owners. Neal Oddes, director of product research at J.D. Power and Associates said that, By satisfying its customers on many different levels, Lexus consistently enjoys high-retention rates and “customer retention is extremely valuable in the auto industry because it costs manufacturers less to keep existing customers than to attract new ones, and strong retention fosters favorable word of mouth. Why now would Lexus want to risk its word of mouth reputation in my case? I have a friend who has been at war with GM over the poorest of customer relations efforts and vehicle issues; I personally found it comforting in owning a Lexus. I do not have to deal with such customer disregard, and would readily make this known. Now, I no longer have comfort in owning a Lexus. Where is the world class customer service that creates retention? Maybe you should all take a moment and read the following article on customer service. I understand that this issue is falling under what might be considered special circumstances; however, I had believed Lexus would treat me as a loyal customer, not as an invaluable statistic. This is all very unfortunate, and on principle alone, I am not going to stop pursuing a resolve to this situation. I know there has to be someone in the Lexus organization who cares enough to spend $1700 of Lexus money in order to preserve a reputation that has likely taken years and billions of dollars to build.A colleague of mine recently shared a negative experience he had with a large Canadian airline. He had purchased a ticket to return home last year for the Christmas holiday but was unable to do so because of medical reasons. It was his understanding that the value of the ticket would be honored for one year from the scheduled date of travel. However, the airlines policy was actually to credit the value of the ticket for one year from the purchase date. This information wasnt printed on his ticket, and when he contacted the airline, he spoke with four members of its customer service department, including a senior manager, and received four different explanations of the airlines policy and his possible remedies.During a time following the horrific events of September 2001, my colleague thought this airline, now more than ever (especially after requesting government relief due to lost revenue), would bend over backward to satisfy him, and keep him as a regular customer. Airlines were slashing fares as much as 50 percent to entice fearful passengers to once again take to the skies. He was utterly shocked and appalled. However, he experienced the lengths to which this airline went in the opposite direction. Each of the four representatives gave four greatly varied definitions of the airlines refund and rescheduling policy. Each apologized for his inconvenience yet repeatedly told him what they could not - and would not - do for him. In the short term, the immediate savings by the airline were $400, the value of the unused ticket. The net loss over the long term, however, will be much, much greater. Not only will he and his family never use this airline (they spend about $3,000 annually) they are so furious that theyve told many friends about this experience. Not surprisingly, everyone theyve told has been shocked and appalled, also, saying they, too, will never fly with this carrier in the future.Understanding that the customer is the source of a companys revenue, it logically follows that every customer must be made as happy as possible, especially so during an industry-wide crisis of historic magnitude. Seeing as its not the owner of a company that routinely interacts with customers, but rather the sales staff, operators, customer service representatives and et cetera have direct contact. It must be a clearly understood rule that the customer must always feel right. The customer has to be treated in a way that sets a company apart from competitors. If a company successfully merges this philosophy with a superior product or service, it can earn customer loyalty and in turn, become profitable. Case in point: Nordstrom. A Nordstrom customers experience provides a perfect counter to the aforementioned airlines woeful customer service practices. For years, the story has circulated about a man who had returned tires to a Nordstrom store, and it provides an excellent example of how to exercise a customer-first approach to business. The story is true. Nordstrom built a store in Alaska at a location that had previously included a tire store. A man, failing to realize the tire store no longer existed, brought car tires into Nordstrom, and asked for a refund. Despite the companys position as a clothier (seemingly everyone knows the only rubber Nordstroms sells is on the bottom of sneakers), the sales associate nonetheless issued some type of refund or store credit, thus satisfying the customer. When people talk about this story, many cant remember if it was a man or a woman, a young or old person, but they always remember that it was Nordstrom who put its customer first.Although this example is extreme, and I dont suggest that a company make a habit of issuing refunds, for merchandise it doesnt sell, the underlying principle stands: For long-term prosperity and patron loyalty, a customer must always feel right, even when shes wrong. Even if a company such as the airline in question doesnt want to adhere to this same level of customer service, or more likely, doesnt believe it can afford to, the only question I would ask its top brass is, Can you afford not to? Word of mouth is by far the single most important marketing vehicle a company can hope for. Think of what the word of the mouth may do for this airlines long-term outlook. Not only has the airline lost loyal customers and likely many more once this story spreads, but more importantly, the employees who initially offered the incorrect information to a loyal customer and then blamed the customer himself for acting on the information he received, are still employed. How much more inaccurate information these employees are going to disperse, and what will be the resulting net loss?Follow Nordstroms lead, not the woeful path cut by the airline. Before the next customer crisis arises at your company, I urge you to ask yourself the following questions, so you are prepared to handle the situation appropriately: How does your company resolve customer disputes, concerns, questions or problems? Do your people automatically go on the defensive, citing policies, procedures and counting warranty periods to the day? Is there a mission statement or customer policy in place that governs all aspects of customer service, including conflict resolution? You cant put the onus on your customers to get it right every time. Too many companies focus on the reasons why they cant help a customer, rather than offering solutions to help fix his problem. The reality is, problems will arise. The problems are not the challenge. The challenge is responding to these problems effectively; these responses help determine a companys ultimate success or failure.
