The Lexus ES350 was top rated for safety and was a Best Buy for 2017. Comfortable and easy to drive, with enough power for emergency situations. I like the rearview camera and lane departure warning systems. The lane departure warning is very helpful, as well as the backup camera. Controls are easy to reach on the dashboard. But I do not like the driver side seat as compared to my BMW seats as it does not hold you in the seat enough. I also dislike the seat headrest as it is too far forward.

After experiencing what I thought was a leak in the sun roof, I found out from the dealership that the SUV had four blocked sunroof drains due to dust, dirt and leaves and a blocked A/C drain caused by a spider making a web. I am in the dealership for all of my regular service checkups and these items are not on the check list of things to look at for each of the required service appointments. I have been told this will cost $9000.00 (this is not in my budget). My insurance company will not pay for this, so I am currently waiting for Lexus Corporate to get back to me. The interesting thing is that in addition to the 3 year warranty, I purchased an additional 3 years for continuity of service. A lot of good that did me.

I have a five-year-old Lexus with 50,000 miles. The vehicle is well-maintained yet the paint is wearing off. It is a dark color however, the paint job should last at least 5 years. The hood and the bumpers are worn so thin that they have changed colors.

There are a wide number of cars that you can purchase. Whether its a luxury sedan or a rugged SUV... Lexus has any number of cars for you and at a widespread range of pricing as well for whatever you want to spend. I purchased my car basically stock from the dealership. Love the look of my Lexus. Very sleek and modern looking. It definitely gets noticed by other drivers on the road. Its distinctive appearance makes for a nice overall look. It has very much leg room even in my smaller sedan. A lot of legroom for those in the backseats as well makes for a nice ride. Have plenty of room in the ES to sit 5 without much problem. Im sure a car of this quality can be personalized almost any way that you would want.

I called Lexus customer service over a disagreement I had with the local dealership where I purchased an RCF. After a week, a junior level employee called me back, explained to me that my original customer service contact was off for the day and then parroted the same story I got from the dealership. When I asked some follow up questions he said he was only reading from notes and couldnt answer specific questions. Very unprofessional in my opinion. I suspect that the CS rep that was working my case had the flunkie call me back so she didnt have to deal with me, but of course that is only speculation. I let it go at that although I should have told the junior guy to have the original contact call when she was back in the office.

We just leased RX 350. We spoke to the dealer for a long time and agreed on payment $336.00. Then we waited for 3 1/2 hours. I was getting many phone calls from work while waiting for the paperwork to be completed. Finally, I signed the deal but did not have the chance to see the car (in spite of waiting for 3 1/2 hours.) My wife spent additional hour signing. When we came home and starting reading the fine print the payment was $385.00. Also, I did not like to color of the seats. We tried to return the car but the manager refused and told us to find a lawyer. Great!

There was an awesome variety of cars to choose from and it made my decision that much harder because they were all so nice. All equipped car with a nice look. Make you feel like a brand new person. The interior was just as amazing. Much nicer than most cars in todays market. The roomy interior and design allows for you to add your own little touch and personalization. When you can fit more than 4 people on a car, thats what you call awesome. Good enough for larger car pools, if you have several children, or just to take a large family on vacation. My needs were fully met.

The same thing happened to me once - I narrowly escaped having my fingers crushed while opening the trunk. I think it re-locks after a certain amount of time, (or maybe my husband re-pulled the opener from the front) but I was about to open the trunk and the latch pulled down again to automatically close. I was grateful I pulled my fingers out just in time and now Im very careful to check that I open the trunk right away. Im also having other issues with my 2003 LS430, like a burning oil smell coming from the engine. I am under 100,000 miles so Im disappointed that I may be looking at something big (and surely costly). I had extended warranties up until last year and each time I brought it in I paid average $2000 AFTER the warranty work. Very disappointed.

I am the owner of two Lexus vehicles. I am investing my time to inform you of my feelings towards Lexus; as the respect, integrity and trust, which I have so highly esteemed about Lexus, has been compromised. This time the 2007 Lexus ES 350 with just 34,000 miles encountered a problem with the passenger window as it would no longer function properly. What I learned is that the window mechanism is so cheaply made that the plastic parts just broke apart. This design flaw resulted in a five hundred dollar plus repair bill that stole hard-earned dollars from other priorities my family has at this time. When I needed to truly rely upon Lexus reliability during challenging economic times, you let me and my family down. What is concerning is the fact the other three windows will certainly face the same catastrophic failure. (And surprisingly, considering the fact that the windows are hardly ever used as the Florida heat makes the AC priority one). The bottom line is this: Why would I ever buy another Lexus product when price and value are so far apart? Please let me know how you may be able to help given the aforementioned situation that my family and I currently find ourselves in.Lexus Service Specialists phone reply: As you did not visit our service department and took your car to a private repair facility, you voided your warranty. My car was well out of warranty, but they said that the CPO (certified pre-owned) Warranty would have covered this had I gone to the dealer. Well actually, the CPO would not cover a window repair; but the Service Specialists... they would have helped if I would have asked. Wow, with my other Lexus which had several service issues, the dealership was very specific that the warranty did not cover my problem and all costs would be borne by me. It is so sad to be witnessing the demise of the famed Lexus brand name. My friends and neighbors, who also own Lexus products, have also commented never again when asked if they would purchase another Lexus, as their own experiences have been much worse than mine… so sad.

Took my RX330 into Pohanka Lexus in Chantilly, VA for a state inspection on 9/14/13. My car was rejected due to the passenger side mirror. In order to not drive around with a rejection sticker, I inquired about how much the mirror itself would cost. John informed me that the mirror would be about $450 plus $65 for labor plus a replacement bulb was needed above the license plate giving me a grand total for a side mirror and inspection $600.44.A front mirror doesnt even cost that much. When I asked why was it so much, the reply was because its motorized. I had visited another Lexus dealership 3 months prior for tires and nothing about the side mirror was mentioned. I feel like I was taken advantage of and that Pohanka Lexus overcharged to replace only the mirror for my car to pass inspection.

Great car with good gas mileage and built to last. The performance on road is awesome and delivers in all areas you would like and love. Totally happy and recommend highly. Once you try a Lexus you will understand the feeling. Offers other variety of cars such as the e and g series that perform just as well. Always a very smooth and gratifying ride. It has the most comfortable capacity whether it is a two seat vehicle or a full SUV. It is roomy enough to suit most passengers but if you choose the IS or a smaller vehicle which is normally for two passengers you will be fine and comfortable.

Needed a car that could fit myself and a family, as well as that familys belongings. Lexus was good enough for that. We can go on road trips no problem. The car was good for my usage since I drive kids around and needed a roomier car for store trips and baby seats. The car itself drives with decent mileage too. It isnt the best looker on the market but its decent enough that it wont get you strange looks or people calling you names at least. There were a few customization options when I bought it, such as extra cup holders and auto locking. It was before you could install built in GPSes or other fancy things.

There were no obvious problems until a multitude of lights came on telling me to get the car to a dealer immediately. I took the car into Mungenast Lexus on Saturday, 3/8/2014 with 89,000 miles. The tech hadnt seen some of the items and I was told I would have to wait until Monday to find out the cause. They got the malfunction lights off and I said I would drive it until they came on again. The car wasnt driven much Sunday or Monday but the lights came on again late Monday and I took the car back to Mungenast on Tuesday, 3/11/2014. On Wednesday, 3/12/2014 I was given an estimate of $10,682.75 for the necessary repairs, not including taxes. Does anyone know of a $73,000 luxury car requiring $11,000 in repairs at 89,000 miles? A car that has been maintained and hasnt been in a wreck, has regular maintenance (although not by Lexus) or any other obvious mistreatment. I made a complaint to Lexus Customer Care (yeah, right!) and they gave me $2000 toward the repairs which I felt was a joke given the forums that point out all of the problems with this car. Virtually all of the repairs necessary are mentioned in all of the forums or other online places to learn of car troubles.I had all of the repairs done except the upper and lower control arms to the tune of $4637.81 including the $2000 credit against the repairs. The upper and lower control arms represent another $4690.15 plus tax. Ive been told to get this done as soon as possible. The car cant really be aligned until these are repaired. I had the first items done in order to get the car back and take advantage of what had been offered before they tried to renege on that. Additionally, I cant sell the car as is because it wont pass a state inspection. Even if I get it fixed, CarFax is probably going to show the repairs so I cant sell it as an individual and if I keep it, Ill be waiting for the other shoe and another $3000 or $4000 in repairs. I feel like I have been really screwed by Lexus with little ability to fight back.I plan to make sure this is known to as many people as possible and am seriously considering a big yellow lemon on all 4 doors with something like, Ask me about my Lexus experience with an e-mail or phone number. I have no idea if this would qualify for a lemon law claim. Repairs: 1) R & L #1 & #2 Upper Control Arms: $3210.35* 2) R&L Lower Control Arms: $1479.80* 3) Water Pump: $701.50 4) R Front Shock: $595.36 5) Brake Actuator: $2704.96 6) Bank 1 & Bank 2 Fuel Ration Sensors7) O-Ring, Fuel Gasket & Insulator at High Pressure $1523.67Fuel Pump: $871.52 *Work not done yet. Work that has been done: $6637.81 including tax. $2000. Lexus credit equals $4637.81. Perhaps the shock and the water pump would be okay although with 7 previous pre-owned cars driven in excess of 125,000 miles I had replace no shocks or suspension items. One fuel pump on a 2005 Lexus at about 100,000 miles.

Starting in 2008 when I received a notification from Lexus stating that my dash had issues that they knew about (Hazing, dull, tacky and cracking) and maybe recalled in the future. They would notify me of such. My dash was dull, hazy and tacky at the time. I waited and got no such notification. 2012- I called McGrath with was one of the dealerships (they have 3 locations) I purchased it from, and asked if they had a recall on my 2004 GX470 for dash issues that were mentioned to me before. They said no and nothing more, even though at the time there was a customer support for it that I had no knowledge of. So I figured I was on my own, not knowing if I knew about the customer support and brought it in they would have replaced my dash.2021- I get in my Lexus and the dash is cracked from left to right all the way across. I am not happy, as my car has been garage kept all this time and well kept. I call McGrath and after lengthy discussions and repeated calls am told they sent 2 notifications for the dash issues and 2 notifications for an airbag module recall, none of which I ever received. They said there was a customer support for the dash from 2010-2017, but that it was over and there was nothing they could do for me. I said that would be ok, had I been notified, but since I was not that they should replace my dash on them. Once I found out about the airbag recall, I had it taken care of by them in 3 days from being told over the phone. I think if they had sent me a notification that they would replace my dull, hazy, tacky, cracked dash at a cost of $1,705.00 I would have jumped on that, dont you?I continued up the corporate management chain, only to spend a lot of time to get the same answer. They did, however, change the statement that they sent 2 notifications for the recall and 2 for the customer support for the dash to 1 for each. I went up as high as the V.P. for customer support and called 3 different times, left messages and never got a response back. I then went to the states attorneys office and filed a complaint there. After several emails they sent to Lexus and months of waiting, I was told they said the same thing. So now Im writing this complaint review to let everyone know how they treat their customers. Still not happy. Dont think its fair to be treated like this from a Big Corporation, just because they are big and powerful and think they can get away with it. I would like a new dash, Lexus. I have all the documentation on paper, but you can just look in your customer complaint fees and youll find it there. I hope this helps someone out there.

This car (Lexus ES 330) is very good now and has served me well. I have had it new since 2004 and still running like a champ. I have liked this car from the beginning and still do. Its design is not too over the top and theres not a lot of extra bells and whistles. Just enough of a design to keep it simple yet it works. I dont need all the extras, I just need basic transportation and most of all safety is the biggest plus in any car. I believe in safety first and foremost. This car being 12 years old still has some of the goodies. It has the sun/moonroof, lots of airbags and antenna in the window vs. actual antenna that you see on cars. Its a 5 passenger car and has great sound from the stereo and many speakers too. It also has leather seats heated for your comfort, dual thermostat for the heater or air conditioner and lots of trunk space you can open from the inside of the car.

Lexus has denied warranty coverage on our car without any reasonable explan
Lexus has denied warranty coverage on our car without any reasonable explanation, and ignored our request to provide reasonable explanations. In November 2013, we purchased a certified pre-owned Lexus that came with a 3-year warranty. At the time of purchase, the front bumper was slightly misaligned, with a small gap between the main body and the bumper on the driver side. Over time, the front bumper kept getting loose, making the gap very wide. Also, a gap started appearing on the driver side of the rear bumper. After ignoring several e-mails and phone calls of ours, Lexus requested us to have the car inspected by the service manager of the dealership where we purchased the car. At the time of inspection (August 13), the service manager looked puzzled and said that he would send the pictures and the description of needed repairs to Lexus. On August 19, the service manager informed us by phone that Lexus denied the warranty coverage because the problems were determined to be due to external causes. This argument, however, has no foundation because there is no trace of an impact on either bumper. On the same day, we sent the case manager at Lexus an e-mail requesting her to answer the following three questions in writing: (1) There is no trace of an impact. (I dont think the service manager found any trace of an impact. Let me know if he said otherwise.) What kind of external cause would make the bumper seriously misaligned without leaving a dent or scratch? (2) I understand that nobody can rule out the possibility of a minor contact on the bumper, such as a contact by another car at a speed of 2 MPH while the vehicle is parked. However, bumpers are supposed to withstand moderate impacts, not to mention minor impacts. If the bumper got seriously misaligned by a minor impact leaving no dent or scratch, shouldnt the manufacturer be responsible for it? (3) How can you rule out the possibilities of defective factory assembly or defective repair/replacement by the previous owner?By phone, the case manager told us that she could only send us a generic denial letter. The letter sent through e-mail simply says, it has been determined that the repair needed to the bumper is due to an outside influence. If they were allowed to deny warranty coverage without any reasonable explanation, they would not have to honor any warranty coverage. We are pursuing this matter through various channels, and we will update this as we get results.

I have a 10-year-old 2002 RX 300. The 3-button key casing broke and I need a replacement. I called the Englewood, NJ Lexus dealer and the Parts Dept. said I must come down with proof of ID and ownership (which is perfectly acceptable) and the Master Key, plus it takes 2 days to get the key and costs $260. If I dont have the Master Key, then there is no replacement! This is utterly wrong on several levels, but the main complaint is that, $260 for a key with a simple electronic code seems over-the-top for people who desperately need a key for their car. Half that cost would be considered high, but $260!?

I leased a 2013 Lexus ES350 from Sewell Lexus in Fort Worth on Oct. 18, 2013. This is the 4th or 5th Lexus ES350 that I have leased and have been very satisfied until this car. We are both retired and have less than 9000 miles on it. We had driven this car without any problems up until Dec. 2014. In Dec. 2014 we went to start the car and the battery was dead. Sewell sent roadside service and replaced the battery. All was good until April 2015. Same problem, dead battery. They checked it out and said everything was good. In April 2015 same problem. They have checked it out. Cannot find problem. Said we dont drive it enough. If so, how did we drive it for over one year with no problems. Anyone else have same problem?

My car failed due to the battery compartment taking on water. I went to the dealership and they advised me to put in a claim with my insurance company. My insurance company denied the claim as there was a service bulletin from 2009 about how to repair the issue. Needless to say my car is out of warranty and has over 130,000 miles on it. Regardless I was never aware of the bulletin. Had I been made aware of this I would have had the car fixed at my expense to avoid this issue. Why would they relay to the insurance company and not notify the customer and keep this a secret. Was it to avoid a recall of the cars? There is a blog site where the issue has come up on these cars. Where there not enough complaints? On a positive note corporate was advised of my issue and has agreed to offer a warranty price which came out to approximately 4300 to 4900 hundred dollars. Needless to say, this is much more than my 500 dollar deductible that the insurance company would have received if this bulletin had not come up. I love my Lexus RX 400 and recommend the cars there are the best of the best. Its this issue that keeps me up at night. I am still trying to resolve and feel that I should not have had to pay anything.

Lexus RX350 is comfortable and roomy. Gives a very quiet ride. It was purchased used but being a quality vehicle we expect to get many years of service. It has a powerful engine so can be used for towing. It feels heavy on the road so feels safe. Good anti-theft system. The tinted windows cut down on sun glare. It has two power front seats. Like the all leather interior, the heated front seats and duel climate controls. Power lift rear door. Has several indictor lights to show if there is a problem with things like the oil level or the tires. But the indicator light for low tire pressure is hard to reset. It does not have a backup camera. It is kind of hard to get to the spare tire and I would have preferred a regular spare to the donut spare.

2014 Lexus 300H, PCS, almost kill me. I bought this car in 2014, and the car started using the brake system by itself. I was driving and the PCS would start flashing and all of the sudden the car came to full stop without reason. It happened 4 times, I took it each time to Lexus of Bellevue, they said they couldnt find the problem. The fourth time I was going 50 miles per hour and the car used the brakes by itself; I span and went into a ditch. Someone called the police and I called the Lexus road assistant. They towed the car, I thank God nothing happen to me or my friend. They looked at the car again and one more time the Lexus service said there is nothing wrong with the PCS. I hired an attorney and we are dealing with them right now. The car has been parked for 3 months now, and I am still paying for something I cant enjoy due that I dont feel safe driving it. Please if you own a Lexus that has PCS and you have experienced similar problem please come forward. Please comment. This system is called PCS, PRE COLLISION SYSTEM, the worst!!

I have significant concerns about my 2006 Lexus IS 350 that the company is refusing to remedy. I have written a letter in an appeal to Lexus to correct a dangerous engineering and design flaw. I have also spoken to the dealership (to no avail) and the department specialist of customer service at Lexus. He assured me that he has taken my concerns to the appropriate managers at Lexus headquarters (this essentially means that they arent willing to acknowledge or correct the issue). At first, I believed the problem was just an irritating inconvenience. The other night, I have discovered that it is a major safety hazard. I have a 2006 IS 350 whose computer touch screen navigation system has stopped working. This is obviously a major inconvenience as it is not just the navigation that doesnt work, it is also the air conditioning controls, the heating controls, the radio controls, the CD/MP3 player, the computer settings and the rear view camera! All of the radio presets were erased without any way to reset them. There is no way to adjust the fan settings for the a/c or heater, I can no longer adjust the base/treble/fade, the backup camera only works 10% of the time and of course, the navigation system is completely non-functional. As the car is only 5 years old and supposedly, a precision, luxury vehicle, one would not expect such major malfunctions affecting multiple systems. Unfortunately, for some reason, they designed all of these systems to be dependent on the navigation computer.I first contacted the company about this issue over the summer and did not receive a satisfactory remedy. I was essentially told that because so many of the computers were having problems, the company was offering to pay of the cost of the replacement part (but not the labor). Indeed, when I explored the issue on the internet, I found hundreds of posts about this problem and other navigation system issues! Given that the company was not willing to replace the defective screen, I would still have to pay over $1200 to $1500 to cover the cost of repair. Like many people, I do not have that amount of money to spend on an engineering mistake. In addition, I feel that it is wrong to ask the consumer to pay to fix something that is obviously flawed and not a result of owner misuse or wear and tear. Frankly, I had much higher expectations of Lexus and was dismayed and disappointed that the company was offering such a paltry remedy for such a major issue! This is an exasperating design flaw and definitely tainted my opinion of the quality of the Lexus product, warranty and customer service. However, I did not realize that this system failure was dangerous until the night of the 18th. Over the last week, the screen has started flashing as the system is trying to load. This is annoying and somewhat distracting in the daylight. However, when the screen flashed a very bright light that night as I was making a left turn at a busy intersection, I almost had an accident. Startled by the sudden light and thinking that the bright flash was the headlights of an oncoming car, I inadvertently swerved into oncoming traffic and narrowly missed being hit by two other cars.I implored Lexus to issue a safety recall for this problem and replace all of the touch screen systems that have malfunctioned before a tragic accident is caused. Although I realize the cost of replacing these systems is a significant consideration, it will be a small price to pay compared to the bad publicity, loss of consumer confidence, reduction of sales and not to mention, loss of human life that will occur if the issue is not rectified, and if the company does not react responsibly and proactively. Their response to my appeal was to offer the same remedy as last summer, 50% off of the component cost with no willingness to issue a recall or investigate the issue further.I have covered the screen with a piece of cardboard so that it cant happen to me again, but I worry about other people who may be unaware that this can happen. Especially since there were many reports online of Lexus owners who were having trouble with their navigation systems. I was very lucky to escape injury.

Getting close to 50 years old, I decided to purchase a reliable, safe, easy to service car that will last until I can no longer drive. Bought a 2004 Lexus ES 330 with only 18K miles, certified pre-owned. Online reviews were glowing, mechanics said, Youll be bored, but just have oil changes up to 100K miles. Hah! At 20K miles, the dealer insisted that I needed new brakes ($1500?) before they score the rotors. Having owned MBZ, Jaguars, Alfa Romeos, and other temperamental exotics over the years, I am familiar with cars and when things should fail. I took the Lexus to an independent mechanic, and found the brakes were almost new, good for another 20K miles, at least (did brakes at 50K for a reasonable price). Scratch dealer servicing forever. The Lexus was always a compromise... noisy, rough ride compared to the Jags and MBZ, but I figured reliability and no drama was worth it. At 65K miles, struts started leaking... $1,000 ($3000 at dealer). I let them leak. Now, 70K miles, right after an oil change using synth-blend, not full synthetic oil, the valve cover gasket started leaking. Repair is $1,300, which includes timing belt, water pump, pulleys, etc... Cheap, compared to dealer, but still 25K miles too soon. Minor problems, but it seems that prices for simple maintenance on these Toyota/Lexus cars has grown to be as expensive and frequent as the exotics used to be. Might as well lease a BMW or Alfa with full service plan included, and flip it every 3 years. That, or an old classic that increases in value as it gobbles up your wallet in repairs. Like they used to advertise, You asked for it, you got it, Toyota. I sure as ** did! Nothing special about Lexus. Anyone want to buy a well maintained 70K mile ES330 needing 90K mile service and struts?

I just brought my 2006 Lexus RX400H in for the 35,000 mile service and to have brake pads checked. I was told that I need not only brake pads, but rotors and calipers on all four wheels with only 36,000 miles on the car. Two years ago, when I had about 25,000 miles, I was told that I had to replace all four tires. The cost was $1,500 and the dealership wouldnt let me leave without replacing all the tires. I have owned many high end vehicles in my 65 years and never have I had to replace all four tires in such a short time and certainly not a two thousand dollar brake job at 36,000 miles. Something is very wrong here. I bought this car new at IRA Lexus in Danvers, MA in March of 2006, and have overall been pleased with the car. However, this kind of component breakdown (or brake down) is unacceptable on a car which cost $53,000 when I purchased it. I believe that the parts had to be faulty or below acceptable standards for a high end car like Lexus. I look forward to hearing from you soon. This is a very disappointing and costly situation, which I do not feel is up to Lexus standards. Please respond.

My vehicle, and doing research there are numerous other Lexus models and years all experiencing oil loss from the timing chain cover gasket causing oil loss that will affect the engine and safety. I have been driving Lexus RX series since 2004 and Germain Lexus of Dublin Ohio is my dealer that I dealt with all those years. Just recently, I returned my leased 2017 RX350 and purchased 2020 RX350L. The deal was to forgive me for all remaining payments on my lease and to forgive me for the excessive mileage. Everything was verbally and was not in writing. Once I got my new 2020 RX350L, few weeks later I received an invoice from Lexus Financial Services to pay for excessive mileage. I called Lexus Financial Services and said the deal was to forgive me, they said, You have to contact Germain dealership and remind them to pay us the bill, I did and the sales manager I dealt with said that the deal was I have to pay for excessive mileage. I am 100% positive that he is not correct but unfortunately, there is nothing in writing to proof my case. I wrote a complaint on Germain’s website but no one contacted me, I also left a voicemail for the General Manager but he didnt return my call.My advice is to get every promise in writing before you sign anything.

Toyota hits a home run every year with the flagship Lexus LS460. The car is put together flawlessly. The mechanical parts roar and purr and make reassuring sounds as the interior parts cuddle you in refined comfort. I have well over 200,000 miles on my 2007 model and no intention of trading it in the near future. In most ways this classic machine is just getting broken in about now. I have followed all recommended service calls, both in and now long out of warranty, and been rewarded with a vehicle that still rules the road. It shines almost as brilliantly after a good wash now as it did right off the showroom floor. I could not be happier with how it just continues to amaze me with its durability and reliability. Yeah, the sticker shock is difficult, but 12 years later it is barely but a memory of a tremendous decision. Thank you, Lexus.

Lexus ES330, 2004: I purchased one in 2005 with 13,XXX miles. From day one the slow shift has been a problem. The car constantly bucks when the gears change. I have taken it to service and theyve reset the computer many times. My biggest problem is the delay when accelerating; sometimes 3 to 5 seconds (if at higher speed and need to change lanes, etc. ) the delay has created near misses. I cannot get Lexus to admit this is a problem, or prove it. They say they re-designed the transmission (I think) in 2009. Meanwhile, Im stuck. I hate this car. There has been no change from Lexus service. They do not admit it is a problem.

A little over a year ago we purchased a 1995 Lexus RX330. We purchased the vehicle as our first luxury vehicle with the hopes that the money would be well spent on luxury and quality of the vehicle. But after having the vehicle for almost 1 year we noticed that the dash started cracking along the front edge and then after picking my wife up from work one day a large chunk of the dash right above the radio broke off and fell to the floor. We immediately called Lexus and asked about having the dash repaired they informed us that there was a recall on the dash and to call Lexus about having the dash repaired. We called Lexus and notified them of the cracked Dash and they informed us that there is indeed a recall for the cracked Dash but they told us the date for the recall expired the day before we called. But that they would look into it and see if there was something they could do.We took the time to take the vehicle to the local Lexus dealer to have pictures taken. Have it inspected and sent to Lexus so that they can review it only for them to call us and tell us they were denying the repairs on the vehicle. So now we are stuck with a vehicle in which the resale value has plummeted due to the crack Dash. Im very disappointed with Lexus that they do not stand behind their vehicle or even offered to pay a portion of the dash to be repaired. If this is how Lexus treats their customers I no longer want this vehicle and will be trading it in as soon as possible. My wife and I were also considering buying another new Lexus because we did like the vehicle until we see that Lexus does not stand behind their vehicle quality at all!!!

We have owned three Lexus products over the years they have been in the US. The cars are great but the corporate culture has deteriorated greatly. The present CEO and the person in charge of Customer service are not at all qualified for their jobs and they have given Lexus a bad name for customer service. The corporate offices have literally no control over the dealers if there are issues, selling cars is all that matters, not customer service. If you have an issue that the dealer refuses to take care of, the infrastructure Lexus created at corporate is so pathetic you will only be frustrated trying to get any closure.

Mr. David **, of Bell Lexus Service, Phoenix, AZ told me that this has been a known problem. I think this is a defective material issue that should have been disclosed before I purchased the Lexus, as I would not have purchased a car that I use for business that absorbed fabric dye from dark pants, skirts, etc. I expected better quality; especially from Lexus! My local detail shop cannot get the dye stains out of the sides of the seats and door panel. Bell Lexus did get it out and they put a sealer on the seats and door and within two days the stains were back. David told me that I could bring the car back for seat cleaning but not every week. David also suggested that I not wear expensive jeans or other dark fabrics in the car? Do I tell my clients the same thing? What if I purchased a leather sofa and this happened? Shouldnt the same principles apply? As a Real Estate professional, I use my Lexus in my business to transport clients. Appearance is an important part of my job. A stained interior will very likely cost me lost sales, lost listings, and fewer referrals. My car is a business investment. Even the non-professional Lexus owner would not like this happening to their supposedly high quality car.Since David was acting as an agent for the Lexus admits the problem; I want this issue addressed and corrected. It is obviously, an undisclosed defect, in that it is inferior quality material, especially with a tan interior. For certain, the sides of the seats and door panels are made from defective materials. Please correct this problem as soon as possible, for I do not want to suffer any further losses.

Never thought I would be writing a negative post about Lexus! I purchased a 2015 GS350 F Sport that was certified back in November 2018. It had 24,000 miles. It is still under the Manufacturer Warranty as well as the Certified Warranty. Last month I noticed the finish on the rims was peeling. I took it to the dealer and they took photos to send to the district Manager. I was told I would hear back in about a week of a resolution. Two weeks later, I still had not heard anything. I called the service rep. He told me he would get back with me. Later that day he called and said that the District Manager said that it did not appear to be a Manufacturer issue. Dissatisfied, I called Lexus Corporate and after many phone calls back and forth was told that they will not do anything about it! This is completely unacceptable. I will be sure to tell everyone know how Lexus does not stand behind their warranty!!

I purchased a 2008 IS 250 Lexus in San Diego, California. Since purchasing it, I have had all my service done at the Kearny Mesa, San Diego location. This car has been riddled with problems and recalls including engine, brakes, seat belt, navigation and more. The problems just are never ending, and it does not seem Lexus is interested in taking any responsibility. When my touch screen system stopped responding to touch (350 miles outside of warranty), they quoted nearly $2,800 for replacement. They built a cheap car, charged a premium for the car and are collected from each of us to have their poor workmanship items repaired. I felt like I was taken advantage of the second I drove off the lot. My negative review is based on visiting Longo Lexus May 2014, after work on a weeknight, to look at the new IS250. I went in to see if I would be able to finance the car, how much I could get for my Lexus ES 350 trade-in, and how much the monthly payment would be, and my goal was to receive a lower monthly car payment. I wouldve never went in the evening if I knew I wouldnt be given an honest/fair contract due to a rushed salesman.I was referred to the lease fleet manager Sergio ** (who was interested in me leasing not buying) and he was very nice and helpful, or so I thought. While we were working on making sure my new payment was lower than my previous payment, Sergio started changing numbers that I was not aware of until two years later when I was ready to turn in my lease. My issues with my first leasing experience. While speaking with Sergio I asked for a two year lease; he wrote the contract for 27 months. I requested and paid upfront for any overage miles based on a two year lease; not a 27 month lease, so now I am way over my estimated mileage. I never agreed on a residual value for the car with Sergio. There was very poor communication on what was being discussed versus what was being written on the contract. Unfortunately timing, feeling rushed by a salesman wanting to head home (I was taking awhile to make a decision), and having no previous knowledge of how to lease a car, I asked my questions and trusted Sergios answers and signed the contract. Assuming everything we discussed was reflected on the contract. Two years later April 2016, I knew my lease was coming to an end so I read up on returning a leased car. And started shopping for a new car. I went into Longo Lexus to look at cars and discuss my lease end options only to be told I have four months left on my lease. I said this has to be wrong because I signed a two year lease and made sure to buy enough mileage for two years. The salesman at Lexus said no its 27 months. I asked him to request for a manager to call me, and no one called. Now the lease is costing an additional $1600 in unplanned monthly payments.Around that time I was being contacted/harassed by 3 separate salespeople, calling and emailing me about my end lease options. Each one I spoke with, I explained what happened to me, I asked what they could do for me, and what I should do to correct the issue, and if they could escalate this issue to management, and make sure someone contacts me. They all claimed they would try, but I never received any contact from Longo regarding what they are going to do to help me with my lease contract. No one appears to want to help me, I would love to consider an option of returning it and paying the lease end fee and 10 cents a mile (which is what I paid upfront). I would even consider a buy option if I was given a fair residual price.I know I should not be responsible for paying 25 cents a mile, just because a salesman wanted to give the illusion of creating a great deal/price. I think it is unfortunate that salesmen and managers do not share with consumers how the leasing process works, and all the fees associated with leasing, especially when theyre talking them out of buying a car. They do not talk about how much of a pain it is to give the car back/purchase the vehicle/lease a new car. A salesman asks for trust and they want enough information to help you. The consumer gives the salesman too much information, and then the salesman uses it against them. Instead of being helpful, theyre friendly so you feel like youve been given a good deal, but they of course make sure they receive the better deal.In the past few months, I have read a lot about the leasing process, and Ive asked better questions, and I understand what was done, and where everything went wrong. I wouldve liked Sergio to be upfront about what he was doing to get the cost down, versus doing it and thinking Id be ok with it, just to receive a minuscule lower monthly payment. If he wouldve been honest with me, I wouldve known I was given more months in my lease and I wouldve purchased more miles upfront, or I wouldve walked. Also if I knew the buy out option was depending on how much the residual value of the car was, I wouldve tried to negotiate a much better price, and if the numbers didnt work, I wouldve said never mind, and left. Also, if they wouldve said to give the car back it would cost $400+, I wouldve also walked. But of course Sergio knew that, and made sure not to miss out on getting a car off the lot, and made sure his time wasnt wasted, he appeased me, adjusted some numbers like magic, and the rest is history/an awful nightmare. I shouldve never been honest with him about what my goal was, because then I wouldve been given an honest price, and I wouldve left, because I know my finances and what I can and cannot afford.Ive been stressed out for months, trying to figure out how to pay for all of these additional screw the consumer charges, while trying to come up with more money for a down payment for a new car, so I can get to and from work. No one seems to care, they just want to screw me more, by talking buy-out, or new lease options. No one has yet to reach out to me to address my situation, as if what happened to me is just normal sales practice for all your leases. This makes me very sad, because I thought I liked Longo Lexus, and Lexus in general. I had such a great experience with my ES 350, I thought I would try out a new body style. Worst mistake I couldve made. Instead of this being a great positive, referral experience, its a stressed out, depressing, seek a therapist, experience. If someone, who is willing and able to assist me, could finally reach out to me, and discuss what I can do, I would greatly appreciate it.

2010 RX-350 headed to Florida on Vac. When we started using AC the floors got damp and to the point of soaked. After googling possible ideas the common issue was the AC Drain plug was clogged. Being a 2010 Lexus with 50,000 miles on it I would never expect this vehicle to have this issue. However here is a few things I did to try and save my vacation: First I removed front and rear Seats, completely took out the Carpet, dry out carpet and soaked insulation, opened drain plugs on the floor boards, drained as much water as possible, wiped the remaining moisture out with towel. After driving for a few min. I could see the water seeping in. It was a Sunday, I spotted a Pep boys open in Jax Beach. I ask them if they could unclog the AC Drain Hose under the Car (for them it was a typical experience). I didnt have a lift to do this myself. The mechanic was nice enough to blow air into the hose and drain out the Blockage (This is ok but it just blew the slug back into the AC Box.) so yes this was a success for 1 day and then the hose became clogged again. I went to Lexus on Atlantic Blvd Bromfords, they were explaining to me the number of charges I would be facing with Diagnostic fees and Labor and etc. all business, good for them, not what I wanted to hear from a Dealer that is all too well aware of their AC issues with Lexus. With Service of such you just walk away. I went to the next Dealer down the road, Toyota. The Service Manager was very helpful but still not able to help me out. He did explain a lot of options and understood my issue. So here I am on VAC with a 2010 Lexus that I will drive up on ramps and attempt to unclog the hose with weed whacker line as suggested. It could help or it may not. Looking forward to get back to New England where I may be able to get assistance from friendly Auto Dealers. Maybe I will be lucky, Next Lexus will need Flood Insurance and Weed Whacker Line.

I was looking for a nice sedan, and all the options available really blew me away. Very glad that I had decided to go with Acura over other options that were out there. A major selling point for me was the quality and sturdiness of the power windows. I was looking for something that will last me and not cost an arm and a leg when they break down so frequently. Ive had motors for windows go bad in several of my previous cars, so it was a must to find a brand with quality power windows. The windows work really well. The car is mainly for myself so I could really care less about the space, but if I do ever have passengers, Im pretty certain they will be very comfortable and that is awesome. I believe I will be staying with Acura the next time I am shopping for a vehicle.

Purchased new 2017 Lexus (our 3rd) and canceled the balance of our Enform for our old Lexus. However, after multiple calls, emails and over 10 weeks, still no refund. Lexus customer service failed to provide satisfaction, just stating they are behind in payments. Furthermore, when I purchased the 2017 Lexus I had asked twice for a customer survey (for dealership/sales), still, no survey and I bought the car in early May 2017.

At the time Lexus only made three models. Would have loved to have taken home the top model but it was out of my price range. Ended up buying the cheapest model which was the 300 EX. Its a nice car and I enjoyed it a lot until I traded it in for a BMW M3. It had lots of room. I owned it when my second child was born and it had room for both child car seats and for grandma to sit in the back. The front had lots of leg room. It was very comfortable, powerful V6 engine, with a nice quiet ride. It was a nice two-toned color, white over silver and gold plated accents. Got a great deal from the salesman who had a side business of upgrading the chrome accents to gold. Would have cost about $1,000 from the dealer but I got it for half that price.

Lexus needs a few more models as to distinguish itself from other luxury brands. Right now, Lexus has a staple of sedans and coupes for a sporty type of brand. I am not impressed with their SUV and perhaps they need a different type of crossover. I found too that Lexus did not offer as many upgrades as I had hoped to find from a luxury car company. I felt limited by the options available. Otherwise, Lexus has a very Alex and modern look which is supported by modern in-car features. Lexus does a good job of incorporate a more modern feel into a luxury car. The car also fits about 4 comfortably which is more than enough for me. I think it very average in that respect.

For two generations, our family has been very loyal by purchasing Toyota cars to drive. For the last 40 years, our family has purchased and driven at least 25 Toyota cars. But we were disappointed with our brand new 2007 Lexus ES350. On December 27th, 2012, I read the article on Yahoo news about the Toyota Motors agreement for settlement of Unintended Acceleration. Well, I owned this 2007 Lexus ES350 and experienced that sudden acceleration problem when the car was set on cruise control driving on the freeway. Therefore, I submitted a written letter by email to Toyota Motors explaining my findings. The reasons for selling this car are because (1) I never heard any reply back from Toyota Motors after submitting a letter to customer service. (2) my wife and family members in Asia was afraid of us driving it in the United States with an accident. Furthermore, they live very far away to come to our immediate attention if we were involved in an accident. (3) Lastly, there were sad news happening here and there because of this sudden acceleration issue. Finally, I sold the car to CarMax dealership in Monrovia, California in March of 2011 with less than 7,000 miles on the odometer. At first, I even went to Longo Lexus/ Toyota (which is the largest Toyota dealership in the United States) to sell the car back, but they explained that there is no recall on my car. The Longo Lexus service foreman even went on a test drive with me in my car and on the street. Also, Longo Lexus/ Toyota refused to give me a reasonable offer to buy my car back. I paid $40,000 brand new and sold the car at a big loss for only $24,000 to CarMax with less than 7,000 miles on the odometer because we were afraid to drive the car.Continuously, our friends and family comfort me that life is more valuable than losing money on a known trouble car. How come Toyota never bothered to help when we have an issue? What happened to good old Toyota reputation? Kindly help me in this matter!

My wife IS 250 2007 has melting and cracked dashboard and panels which Lexus sent me a letter to get them replaced. I took the car to the dealership. They told me to come back in the summer cause my Lexus does not meet the repair criteria. Even now the dashboard it feels like butter you can take chunks out of it. Now I have no idea if they would replace it or not cause I guess whats happening to my car is normal. I didnt know Lexus meant to make dashboards like that and is normal.

I own a Lexus 2006 and a year ago I started noticing hairline cracks on the dashboard. I spoke with a Lexus representative and he said that Lexus is aware that it is a manufacture defect and I should take it to the dealer and they should replace it. I took it in to North Miami Lexus dealer. The guy took pictures and said that he submitted the claim. I followed up with him since he never called me back to follow up. After 5 weeks he said that Lexus will replace it but I will have to pay $1000. He also said that I can call Lexus customer service if I am not happy. I did call them and followed up with Customer Service manager, Michael, was told that since the car is outside of warranty (however, very low mileage and they recognize that, could have been covered under that) they can only extend the dealers offer and that is very fair. They never looked at the pictures since the dealer didnt upload them and apparently someone in the other department declined for Lexus to take full responsibility for the defect. After searching the issue online, I realize that I am not the only one with the same issue and that different Lexus owners were offered different deals. My belief is that they never even looked into the issue and I was given the generic answer by the customer service management. This is very disappointing and would love to join a class action suit. Lexus is aware of this defect and just getting away with it. The luxury car dealer is washing their hands off. I am not angry but very dissatisfied to look at the car everyday and see the cracks while it is suppose to be a luxury car.

I asked to escalate the complaint and was told management had already made the decision. I asked to speak to someone in management and was told management doesnt speak to customers. What horrible customer service from Lexus if this is indeed true. I will never purchase another Lexus and cant wait to get rid of this car. I will also make sure those close to me do not have to deal with the same amount of frustration and advised them to not waste their money on a Lexus because they dont care about their customers. Please relay my message to the senior management. CAN THIS CAR SURVIVE 50,000 MILES WITHOUT ANOTHER LEAK??? 1) Engine oil leak at 15,000 miles only on May 8, 2013 (after merely 2 years old). 2) ANOTHER 3 LEAKS IN YEAR 2015 ALONE. a) Engine oil leak again on March 27, 2015 (33,802 miles only). b) Less than 2 months, engine oil leak again on May 7, 2015 (35,284 miles only). c) Repeat the 4th time engine oil leak again on Dec. 26,2015 (44,013 miles only). Per all 4 repair service invoices/records provided by Longo Lexus Dealership, California, this is major engine oil leaks problem!!!Had chosen Lexus (also own toyota, bmw, benz autos) at that time owing to its fame of reliability, durability and sleek style. However, it had become a nightmare to me... In addition to the time, inconvenience caused, I basically STUCK WITH IT!!! I CANNOT SELL IT BECAUSE OF OIL LEAK NUISANCE (NO ONE WILL BUY THIS CAR ONCE DISCLOSE OF SUBJECT ISSUE!!!).Additionally, it caused UNSECURE, NON-RELIABLE and MENTAL BURDEN every time driving this car, as I simply tensed and afraid of when this will happen again!!! Not to mention I no longer able to drive this SUV car long distance anymore (initial purpose of buying SUV for comfortable long trip) albeit carrying 44,000 miles only!!! I am extremely, extremely... disappointed, dissatisfied of this ownership. What will be your recommendation of my current awkward situation?!

I purchased a 2016 Lexus ES350 in May 2016. For the first year Lexus offers a one year complimentary subscription to their Enform Safety Connect and Service Connect features. The Service Connect feature is supposed to provide maintenance alerts and the health of your vehicle through a Vehicle Health Report available by e-mail or by viewing the Health Report on the Lexus Drivers Website. The Service Connect feature has never worked from the day I picked up the car. Since May I have called Lexus Corporate 5 times about this issue and contacted the Lexus dealership twice but I get no satisfactory answers. No one can tell me what the problem is nor can they resolve the issue. Frankly I have given up on getting this issue resolved. Lexus wants $164.89 for a one year subscription for the Safety and Service Connect package. I have, therefore, decided not to renew the subscription when my one year complimentary subscription ends. Lexus has the audacity to charge $164.89 for a service where one the components of the subscription they cannot provide.I have had other issues that I have called Lexus Corporate about. I used their Built IT tool and I relied on information on their website when I configured my ES350. However, when I went to the dealership to order the car I found that some of the information was wrong and the car could not be ordered in the configuration per their Build It tool. In addition, when I took delivery of the car I found that the interior of the car was not what was shown per the Build It tool. When I complained to Lexus Corporate about it I was told Lexus was not responsible for any incorrect information on their website and if I relied on that information then that was my problem. This was my first Lexus and it will be my last. The Customer Service is simply not what one expects from a high end car company. I have had Mercedes cars in the past and if I had an issue they promptly took care of it. Lexus does not seem to care about their customers.

Lexus 2010 RX450 - The front seats have been cracking/splitting for some period of time. Upon discovering that this wearing was not normal, I took the car to the Scanlon/Lexus Ft. Myers, FL. I cant tell with accuracy when this cracking started, but I am 100% certain that it started well within the warranty period. Even though the car was only 4 months out of the warranty. This is my third and LAST Lexus. They refused to do anything about it. They did call in the regional Lexus rep who basically would not give me any satisfaction in trying to get the seats repaired. I reported this problem to the Lexus corporate office in May 2015, incident #**. Their attitude was what have you done for us lately in terms of taking the car in for service to a Lexus dealer. I have spent over $128,000 in the past 10 years on Lexus cars, but I will not spend another penny on repairing a problem that is the result of poor materials or workmanship. I will be submitting a complaint with the local BBB, ASAP.

After 2-3 months of purchasing the truck the leather seats were bulging and buckling significantly. Dealership acknowledged the problem and replaced the leather on the rear seats. One month later, the front seats are now worse than the back seats. Both the dealership and Lexus Company will not stand behind product. In fact, the dealership suggested that this is a common issue and sent me pictures of other new trucks with the same problem. Wish I would have known that before purchasing the $50K+ vehicle. I was driving home from work on Friday, April 25, 2014. I live 52 miles from work. My 2007 Lexus RX 350 drove fine without any low engine oil warning lights showing on the dashboard. At about 45 miles the engine just started sounding loud and stopped. My engine had not a drop of oil in it. I purchased a 2004 RX 330 2 years ago with very low mileage, from Lexus of Sarasota, FL and purchased the extended warranty with the vehicle. For the better part of 10 months I have now been working with Tampa of Lexus and the warranty company as the dashboard continues to deteriorate and no resolution at hand that satisfies me. The warranty company despite the fact that we sent over 10 pictures of end to end dashboard cracks, and the fact that Lexus of Tampa, recommended that the dashboard be replaced, only wanted to send a dashboard technician to repair it. The Lexus of Tampa finally wanted to replace it and charge me $250 dollars, but I didnt believe I should be responsible for a single cent of it, since this is a known Lexus issue and Lexus should be accountable. Lexus of Tampa then recommended that I take the vehicle back to Lexus of Sarasota where I originally purchased it and let them deal with the problem. My conversation with the Lexus of Sarasota Service Rep went something like this... Well, we have to weigh several factors. How many vehicles have you purchased from us? which the answer is this is my 4th Lexus, and OBTW, my 2007 Lexus Dashboard is sticky and chipping as well, and this vehicle is still under warranty. How much Service have you done with us? And although, I have performed almost some of my service has been performed at Sarasota, the majority has been done with the Lexus of Tampa, because they are conveniently located near my office and they have better service. Lexus is Lexus and none of these issues should even matter, as Lexus should stand behind their product. Lexus of Sarasota are now going to take pictures and request a Good Will repair ... Stay tuned as I have zero confidence that Lexus knows how to do the right thing for their customers. They have a sticky and cracking Dashboard issue that they simply refuse to own. These will be my last Lexus vehicles because I will not purchase another Lexus if they do not resolve my problem.

I have a 2008 RX350 with 54K miles. I had a couple of problems within its 4 -year warranty. One was to replace the oxygen sensor. Another one was to add more Freon (AC not cool enough). Now I have two other problems. Last month I had a flat tire and tried to use the lift jack provided to lift the car. The jack cant stand straight and will crush. This is very dangerous if you just remove the flat tire and your car will crush to the ground. I never saw such issues with Honda accord and Ford Taurus previously. I am considering to buy a floor jack. The rubber boot on rear strut was broken after just three and half years, it was still in warranty but I forgot to bring it to dealer for repair, due to some hardship of my personal life at that time. Now I worry about the replacement of that strut. Why do Lexus use such cheap part? It is hard to say Lexus is building a quality car. I dont know if I will buy another Lexus car in the future.

I do NOT recommend anyone purchasing a Lexus especially if you expect to have a luxury car and put out 50k+. I owned a 2006 Lexus and never had problems. I purchased a Lexus a few years back for one main reason....reliability. Well let me tell you I have never had as many problems with my Lexus as I have had with any other brand. So far I have replaced water pump, side view mirror, 2 door actuators, battery and now the gateway control module is not shitting down resulting in my battery being dead after 1 day of non use. After three years of ownership I have spent over $4,000 for repairs and now they want another $1,000 for an issue that NHTSA has issued a TSB on but since the battery being dead is not a safety issue no recall has been issued. Both the door actuators and gateway control modules are well documented issues with Lexus and they absolutely will not standby their vehicles. I will never buy another Lexus and looking at the other luxury brands for my business. I will gladly pay more to get reliability as apparently Lexus IS no longer a brand synonymous with reliability.

I own a 2012 Lexus CT 200h. Absolutely love my car. 2 1/2 weeks I was in a car accident that was not my fault. My car went to Lexus of the quad cities to get an estimate. While in for getting the door fixed rust was noticed on both of the front door seams. We questioned it and had to get in contact with Lexus. My husband talked to Shawn directly at Lexus. They sent someone out to look at my car. Since my car has rust on the seams they will not cover it, as it is not rusted through. Lexus warranty says corrosion or perforation for 6 years unlimited miles. Since the door was already being painted it would not cost anymore to fix the seam under the door. Shawn told my husband nothing he could do about it and no one else he could speak to. I dont know about you but who wants to spend $40,000 on car that is only 4 years old and its rusted. I guess I thought buying a Lexus was not buying a Ford Focus, even though I owned a Ford Focus 10 years ago and it never rusted. Customer service not good, neither is warranty.

My GPS system totally went out on me. I spoke with a co-worker of mine who owns a 2006, and the exact same thing happened to her. I bought a new 2013 Lexus ES350 last year, and was very excited. It was my first luxury car indulgence. Im 63 years old, and recently retired. Mechanically, the car ran and drove great. But, the lack of common sense creature comforts in the front cabin became such an irritation that I ended up trading it in - even though I took a depreciation hit of over $15K. Here are the specifics:1) It is very difficult to exit the car. The low ground clearance was difficult for me, especially since I have some hip issues. The other factor is that the door does not have an intermediate stop position. So, when you open it, it will tend to start closing on you. Many times I had to kick the door to keep it open, just so I could get out. You learn to do this after it shuts on your leg, which is quite painful. This was an issue for the passengers as well. In addition to just being annoying, the bottom door panel became filthy from all of the foot prints.2) There is ZERO convenient storage in the front cabin. I do a lot of detail work in the car, and just need a flat surface to put stuff down. If you look at the console closely, you will see that there is no flat area at all to put anything. The main console storage area crowns in the middle, and is back too far to be useful as a surface. The navigation joystick occupies the right hand side of the console. The shift lever occupies the left hand side. The beverage holder at the front has a sloped cover. The drivers side beverage holder is typically open, because thats the only place you can put your fob/phone/etc. There are no pockets or storage holes in the side of the center console. The end result is that a lot of stuff ends up dropping down between the console and the seat.3) If something does drop down between the console and the seat, there is no convenient way to retrieve it. The only way is to get out of the car, move the seat all the way forward (very slowly because it is a power seat), then open the rear door, get on your knees and reach under the seat from behind. Because of the power seat mechanism, you cant reach under from the front. Try this outside in 100+ degree heat, and it gets very old very fast. Especially when what you dropped is your key fob.4) This leads to my main complaint: The railings under the seats have not been machined, and have very sharp edges. After suffering my third very serious gash on my hand trying to retrieve what fell between the seat and the console, I just lost it. I traded it in not three days later.5) There is no place to put your phone - or even a sunglasses compartment above the rear view mirror. The only place to put stuff is in the drivers beverage compartment. Its like they went out of their way to remove any convenient storage and/or work area.I know to many, these complaints will seem petty. I guess if you drive a luxury car you shouldnt be concerned with these types of issues. But, after a year of putting up with kicking the door open, dropping stuff between the seat and the console, and getting blood all over my shirt and pants, I just couldnt take it anymore.

After arguing with the service guy he went to the service manager and they agreed to repair it and they did.Now in 2018, I have two cracks in the dashboard by the passenger air vent. Researched on the internet to see if other Lexus owners had similar issues. To my surprise many owners have this issue and Lexus had offered to replace the entire dashboard if you have cracks or melting of the dashboard. The dealership told me I needed to call corporate to obtain approval for the dashboard replacement. I called corporate office and they did not show the cracked dashboard had been previously repaired and the offer to replace the defective dashboard had expired in October 2017. I asked if they could repair just the cracks like last time and was told that decision is up to the dealership.I called PARK PLACE LEXUS OF PLANO, TX to see if I could still get the dashboard replaced or repaired. Their system showed the crack in the dashboard was repaired in October 2009. The dealership did not correspond to corporate of my previous repair which I have documentation and receipt. After speaking to the service representative and service manager they will not replace the dashboard since it is up to corporate to approve and will not repair the cracks because one of the cracks is in front of the airbag.Bottom line to replace the defective dashboard I will have to pay approximately ~$2,000. I bought a Lexus based on the reputation of a quality vehicle. Had I known it was so cheap that the dashboard would need to be totally replaced in less than 10 years my decision would have been different. I understand vehicle parts wear out and need to be replaced but not a dashboard. This car is always garaged at home and at work and only has 76k miles. A dashboard should not have cracks on a vehicle this soon and definitely not on any quality luxury car. Based on this experience I would strongly recommend others to stay away of a LEXUS and PARK PLACE LEXUS OF PLANO.

I am an owner of this model mentioned in title and did not know what I was getting myself into when purchasing this vehicle. Should have done further researches. Anyway, we learned from mistake. This model is well known for his faulty ABS actuator and Lexus would not want to replace it saying that you are out of the warranty time frame of 5 months (Despite the very low mileage that you have), when they know for sure the car was made with a faulty part (which is why they extended the warranty on it in the first place). That is very low coming from Lexus. They are supposed to be one of the world class customer service especially considering the price of their product. Like I said, Ive learned my lesson. Last Lexus car here.

I had a Lexus ES300, drives awesome, good on gas. Handles with extreme precision on freeways at high speeds and gas is reasonable. Looks beautiful and classy. Unfortunately had an auto accident. Hit by a truck. Would you believe after that the truck needed roadside assistance flatbed to tow the truck. My Lexus started right up and drove away with minor dents. The car was built durable and reliable. I highly recommend Lexus to any who want excellence as also quality. Loved owning this vehicle. Wood grain is an option as well as extra modified stereo system high end quality, leather heated seats, extended warranties depends on how much youre willing to spend. Has a big part to do with all you want in a fancy luxury automobile. Also, I have had up to seven passengers at one time. I also had a speaker system in the trunk and back seat. So room is of no concern when speaking about the LEXUS ES300. Again a vehicle that is suitable for all dynamics of all types of encounters it may come across. Simply amazing and classy. Find yourself driving away in your new Lexus to understand how ones perspective will have you convinced as I have been. I see it as you only live once so what I can tell you if youre a hard worker and help other people then you most certainly deserve it. Put it like this, treat yourself dont cheat yourself.

I own a 2007 Lexus RX350 that was purchased in 2008. It has been a very reliable car with few mechanical issues over the last 11 years. In the last year, my dashboard began to crack and now is split in several places. I contacted my Lexus dealer who negated to even inform me there was a national recall on the dash itself. I had taken my vehicle in for routine service during that recall envelope and not one thing was mentioned! Park Place Lexus/DFW area practically blew off my concerns off and told me to call the Lexus 800 number. I was subsequently told the recall period had expired and their attitude stemmed around them informing me it was MY responsibility to check for recalls. What??? Now my paint is fading/peeling even though my car is perpetually garaged and I work overseas 18 days/month. It only has 67k miles! I really loved my Lexus but my experience with my dealer and Lexus HQ has all but convinced me its time to go with another brand. Lexus... youve lost my business!!! Buyers... Consider yourself warned!

My wife purchased her second new Lexus SUV in 2013 and was a diehard Lexus repeat customer. Her new Lexus RX450H is an expensive luxury class vehicle, and she justifiably had expectations that it would be a safe, reliable, and comfortable vehicle. It turned out that it is none of the above, and furthermore the Lexus people not only don’t stand behind their product, but knowingly deceive their customers regarding the quality of their products at the time of purchase. This vehicle and many other Lexus models have a faulty evaporator component in the air conditioning system which drains condensation into the cabin causing mildew and bacteria to develop and grow. We became aware of this after the terrible smell inside the vehicle became noxious. The Henderson, Nevada dealership where we purchased changed the filters at our cost and the problem persisted.Eventually, we learned that Lexus was aware of the vehicle’s defect when they sold us the car. Now, there are class action suits against Lexus for this specific defect, and the corporate office’s refusal to remedy the defect. While the corporate office acknowledges the defect and has issued several Technical Service Bulletins, or TSBs, which gave guidance to the dealerships and suggested specific language to placate the customers concerns, no recall has been made and Lexus admits they do not have a plan to fix the defect. After numerous attempts to resolve the issue on our part we have not received satisfaction in resolution of this defect. The corporate office claims resolution lies with the dealership, and vice versa. What is dispositive is that Lexus products are not the reliable vehicle they once had a reputation as, and after sale customer service is deplorable. So, look a little further if you are considering the purchase of a Lexus in the luxury vehicle market.

Probably this was my worst decision to buy a pre-owned 2014 Lexus IS 250 AWD back in 2016. I was certainly duped by looking at those J.D. Power ratings of dependability and reliability. Bought a pre-owned Lexus dealer certified 2014 IS 250 AWD and vehicle is in a very good in condition until a couple of days ago where AC was blowing hot air when I was doing a long trip with my family along with my newborn four and a half month old. The AC was working fine till we reach the destination and on our way back is where the AC did not work and we had to drive back home 140 miles under 95 degrees hot day with a four and a half month baby. I had shared my experience with my colleagues and they say I shouldve bought an extended warranty. Damn! Why in the world should I buy an extended warranty when I am paying so much for a car which is branded as reliable and dependable? This is nuts. So, I took my vehicle to the local Toyota dealer (obvious that the Lexus dealer is going to rip me off with their charges and that is totally fine because its LEXUS) and it costs me $700 to fix a sensor and redo the whole AC to be up and working. Very dissatisfied with Lexus and did not expected this kind of issue when the vehicle is still under 100,000 miles. Definitely, moving to a different brand in a very short time.

My car had a sunroof, full-leather interior, a 6-cd disc changer, v6 engine, power windows and automatic locks. I also enjoyed the ability to adjust my sunroof as I pleased or use the tilt option for a slight breeze. I greatly appreciated the cd changer given that I traveled between cities a lot. It gave me comfort to know I truly would enjoy my time on road. I didnt have the chance to upgrade my car much due to financial limitations. However, Lexus did offer many different upgrade and personalization options. There were upgrades for the seating as far as different colors of leather, and initial embroidery that add a personal touch. Even though the car seemed small, it could really hold its weight in passengers and seat them comfortably. At one point, I had eight people in a 4-door Lexus--6 kids and 2 adults! I hauled off my whole apartment with just this one car! I liked the size because it wasnt too big or too small and it was very easy to handle and control the vehicle. Overall Lexus truly holds up to their brand by creating reliable, luxurious and efficient cars. As a college student, I constantly traveled between cities and in just five years I put on over 200,000 miles. Im thankful to have had my Lexus by my side while pursuing my future!

I recently had the experience of being denied repairs of my Lexus (VIN 2T2BK1BA7AC015824). A known problem exists in the steering column of my particular model, a 2010-2011 Lexus RX350. So, this parts failing falls under the following: (1) a known problem by Lexus and (2) a very new car still under warranty. The only caveat to this situation is that I travel for work, and I spend some of my time in Minsk. I have a Lexus sedan here in the United States, and only just recently took the RX 350 to be my car in Minsk. There, I began to discover the steering noise issue. I understand that the standard procedure for Lexus would be to only cover warranty issues within the United States.I personally feel that this is a special case; I will have to have the vehicle repaired in Europe, so I am prepared to pay for the labor through a Lexus dealer, but I strongly feel that the $1700, plus part I had to order to replace an existing flaw in my Lexus, should not be paid by me. As mentioned, I purchased this Lexus in the United States, I still own another Lexus in the United States, and one day, I will return this Lexus to the United States. My request to have this part paid for has been denied. I find this very hard to believe. The trend with many large companies is a disregard towards customer service that will build brand loyalty. I did not think Lexus was one of these companies, and I am deeply disappointed. It has been my understanding that Lexus leads the industry in retaining the highest percentage of vehicle owners. Neal Oddes, director of product research at J.D. Power and Associates said that, By satisfying its customers on many different levels, Lexus consistently enjoys high-retention rates and “customer retention is extremely valuable in the auto industry because it costs manufacturers less to keep existing customers than to attract new ones, and strong retention fosters favorable word of mouth. Why now would Lexus want to risk its word of mouth reputation in my case? I have a friend who has been at war with GM over the poorest of customer relations efforts and vehicle issues; I personally found it comforting in owning a Lexus. I do not have to deal with such customer disregard, and would readily make this known. Now, I no longer have comfort in owning a Lexus. Where is the world class customer service that creates retention? Maybe you should all take a moment and read the following article on customer service. I understand that this issue is falling under what might be considered special circumstances; however, I had believed Lexus would treat me as a loyal customer, not as an invaluable statistic. This is all very unfortunate, and on principle alone, I am not going to stop pursuing a resolve to this situation. I know there has to be someone in the Lexus organization who cares enough to spend $1700 of Lexus money in order to preserve a reputation that has likely taken years and billions of dollars to build.A colleague of mine recently shared a negative experience he had with a large Canadian airline. He had purchased a ticket to return home last year for the Christmas holiday but was unable to do so because of medical reasons. It was his understanding that the value of the ticket would be honored for one year from the scheduled date of travel. However, the airlines policy was actually to credit the value of the ticket for one year from the purchase date. This information wasnt printed on his ticket, and when he contacted the airline, he spoke with four members of its customer service department, including a senior manager, and received four different explanations of the airlines policy and his possible remedies.During a time following the horrific events of September 2001, my colleague thought this airline, now more than ever (especially after requesting government relief due to lost revenue), would bend over backward to satisfy him, and keep him as a regular customer. Airlines were slashing fares as much as 50 percent to entice fearful passengers to once again take to the skies. He was utterly shocked and appalled. However, he experienced the lengths to which this airline went in the opposite direction. Each of the four representatives gave four greatly varied definitions of the airlines refund and rescheduling policy. Each apologized for his inconvenience yet repeatedly told him what they could not - and would not - do for him. In the short term, the immediate savings by the airline were $400, the value of the unused ticket. The net loss over the long term, however, will be much, much greater. Not only will he and his family never use this airline (they spend about $3,000 annually) they are so furious that theyve told many friends about this experience. Not surprisingly, everyone theyve told has been shocked and appalled, also, saying they, too, will never fly with this carrier in the future.Understanding that the customer is the source of a companys revenue, it logically follows that every customer must be made as happy as possible, especially so during an industry-wide crisis of historic magnitude. Seeing as its not the owner of a company that routinely interacts with customers, but rather the sales staff, operators, customer service representatives and et cetera have direct contact. It must be a clearly understood rule that the customer must always feel right. The customer has to be treated in a way that sets a company apart from competitors. If a company successfully merges this philosophy with a superior product or service, it can earn customer loyalty and in turn, become profitable. Case in point: Nordstrom. A Nordstrom customers experience provides a perfect counter to the aforementioned airlines woeful customer service practices. For years, the story has circulated about a man who had returned tires to a Nordstrom store, and it provides an excellent example of how to exercise a customer-first approach to business. The story is true. Nordstrom built a store in Alaska at a location that had previously included a tire store. A man, failing to realize the tire store no longer existed, brought car tires into Nordstrom, and asked for a refund. Despite the companys position as a clothier (seemingly everyone knows the only rubber Nordstroms sells is on the bottom of sneakers), the sales associate nonetheless issued some type of refund or store credit, thus satisfying the customer. When people talk about this story, many cant remember if it was a man or a woman, a young or old person, but they always remember that it was Nordstrom who put its customer first.Although this example is extreme, and I dont suggest that a company make a habit of issuing refunds, for merchandise it doesnt sell, the underlying principle stands: For long-term prosperity and patron loyalty, a customer must always feel right, even when shes wrong. Even if a company such as the airline in question doesnt want to adhere to this same level of customer service, or more likely, doesnt believe it can afford to, the only question I would ask its top brass is, Can you afford not to? Word of mouth is by far the single most important marketing vehicle a company can hope for. Think of what the word of the mouth may do for this airlines long-term outlook. Not only has the airline lost loyal customers and likely many more once this story spreads, but more importantly, the employees who initially offered the incorrect information to a loyal customer and then blamed the customer himself for acting on the information he received, are still employed. How much more inaccurate information these employees are going to disperse, and what will be the resulting net loss?Follow Nordstroms lead, not the woeful path cut by the airline. Before the next customer crisis arises at your company, I urge you to ask yourself the following questions, so you are prepared to handle the situation appropriately: How does your company resolve customer disputes, concerns, questions or problems? Do your people automatically go on the defensive, citing policies, procedures and counting warranty periods to the day? Is there a mission statement or customer policy in place that governs all aspects of customer service, including conflict resolution? You cant put the onus on your customers to get it right every time. Too many companies focus on the reasons why they cant help a customer, rather than offering solutions to help fix his problem. The reality is, problems will arise. The problems are not the challenge. The challenge is responding to these problems effectively; these responses help determine a companys ultimate success or failure.

Now, February 2012, the same oddity reoccurred and Lexus claims they are exempted from repairing them since it is out of the warranty period. We bought this RX 330 new in 2004. It has not been to the Dealer once. Not for maintenance, not for tires, not for the maintenance light, which is on and has been for 5 years. I read the complaints on here and amazed at the lack of common sense. Do you people not understand that most dealers are a rip-off ? That they want to take advantage of people that lack common sense or the basic understand of a vehicle. Our Lexus runs fine. I did the brakes and the total cost for it twice now was about $300.00. No one should charge you more than $700.00 for brakes and that would be with new parts all around (pads, and rotors). Therein lies another one of the manipulated products. Rotors, which are the big metal round part are now made thinner so they dont last as long. Also, when they give you a quote for work. Go to the local auto parts store and compare the product (replacement parts) cost. Yes, there should be a difference as if you go to the dealer, they sell you (OEM - Original Manufacturer parts). Example: A rotor at the auto parts store would cost $60, tops at the dealer should have $120.00. Everyone really does need to find a good mechanic in your area. Watch them too as one in every 4 are the same as a dealer. There to take your money... Sad but true. $11,000.00 in maintenance. That is a joke at best. I do feel sorry for most, especially the women as they should not have to deal with these problems. So many people these days are not normal and helpful. It is about the buck they make on the sale or the repair. They are basically lacking decency.I also want to let you know. If you buy a car with a touch screen, and all the latest gadgets, expect to be taken for a ride. They figure you are rich and have money to spare. Do you really need all those things, or is it a status symbol for you to tell your friends about. A GPS? How about A map and you actually take the time to learn your surroundings. The Super Rich are manipulating all of us into becoming their pawns for pay. Everything you do will require their assistance. Take a step back. Remember, they are out to get your money. Ask to see what is wrong, also insist on getting the old parts. Even if you just take them now and throw them in the garbage.

I took my 2011 RX 350 in because I noticed a small bubble in the side of my rear driver’s side tire. The dealer told me it was not covered under the warranty because it was a road hazard. This is nothing but an excuse not to cover it. If it were a road hazard then there would be some kind of mark on the rim and/or the side of the tire, but there is none on either. I feel that this is a defect in the tire and should be covered under the warranty. It probably started out very small and is now about an inch and a half long, from the tread inward. This car only has 7,400 miles on it. This is my second lease of a Lexus. I feel I should be treated better than this and the tire should be replaced.I would like someone to contact me regarding this ASAP. Regards,Steve **

I leased ES 300 from Pohanka Lexus. After 28000 miles the Bridgestone tires are bald. I reached out to Bridgestone, they told me that the ES300 is a high performance tire and go bald in 30000 miles. I told them that I drive Hybrid for more mileage and I dont race. The service department told me that the Bridgestone tires are bad tires and I need to replace it with Michelin tires as they will last for 60000 miles. When I approached Lexus Warranty, they took over a week and got back to me. The Warranty department told me that the ES 300 Bridgestone tires are bad and I need to buy new set of tire as it is not covered in the Warranty. When I checked with them about bumper to bumper warranty, they told me that tire is not covered. I told him that I have a Ford Fusion hybrid and I changed the tire after 75000 miles. Lexus ES 300 uses bad and cheap quality Bridgestone tire.

They had a wide variety of colors and supercharged. Some were all power anti-lock brakes and leather seating, and a lot of the cars were low miles. The one that I chose had classic black interior with power windows and the stereo screen was a big screen that came up and out. I had the lights changed to the blue lights that were of higher definition. The seats were so nice because they were leather heated seats and the body type was just what I was looking for. It had really low miles for the year that it was. Ive been a Lexus owner for many years but recently got a shock on the service charge.. Very high compared to previous services. On examination, most things listed were checked and the supposed listing of balanced all wheels Im told by insider staff did not take place, as did a number of other things. Its likely less than 2 hours was spent on the service but they charged the full service fee. On top of that there is an unexplained miscellaneous charge. I doubt many of the things listed took more than a min or 2 and the labour charge is inflated. I suspect these costs are deliberately inflated motivated by greed, personal bonuses etc and it seems to me that Lexus has changed its approach from providing clear and reasonable service to customers to one of ripping them off and not caring at all.Owners should be told in advance of the basic cost of a service and not be surprised by large charges, and clearer explanations should be given. This is the norm for any service e.g. visiting the Dr or any other professional or trade services. There seems to be an attitude at Lexus that its a prestige car, therefore customers should pay more. Some friends and colleagues also with Lexus cars have found the same.. ie increase in charges without notice and the lack of pre service consultation. Lexus used to have my loyalty and trust.. No more..

My daughter bought a used 2009 Lexus RX350 18 months ago from CarMax. Shortly after purchasing the vehicle she received a recall notice from Lexus that dashboard needs to be replaced due to cracking. She took her car to the local Lexus dealer in Tampa last July and was told that dashboards were back ordered and they would notify her when her replacement arrived. Within weeks cracks started to appear in her dash. Foam started popping thru the dash. My daughter is in sales and frequently transports clients. Her clients are senior executives at major corporations. They all commented negatively about the dashboard. She has heard that she should have bought a (substitute Audi to VW) as she has heard them all.Her luxury car has become the running joke within her office. She has just been transferred to Houston and isnt taking the car with her as she would have to go the Local Houston dealer and start the waiting process all over again re-registering for the replacement dashboard. She just sold her car back to CarMax for 60% less than she paid for it ($15,000 loss) as they were the only buyer for the car with the volcanic dash.Lexus customer service has been unresponsive responding that the dashes have been slow to ship from Japan and that their hands are tied. Are we really supposed to believe that it takes more than ten months for a dash to ship from Japan? I believe that Lexus isnt taking this recall seriously as they know that the longer they put off replacing the dashboards the less the recall will cost them as cars will be totaled or sold and some owners will simply give up. I have owned 14 Toyota cars and 7 Lexus cars as I am in sales and trade cars at least every two years. I pointed this out to Lexus but they did not care. They point a finger at the dealers and the dealers point a finger at Lexus. The reality is that they are both giving owners the middle finger.

Over 6 months ago I got into an auto accident. After doing some research in my car, I found out that I had EIGHT airbags in just the front seat of my car. An impact such as this should have caused at least one of the airbags deploying.I contacted Lexus about this when my accident happened (back in August of 2013) and they said they would inspect the car. After they inspected my vehicle they said they would get back to me within a month about the results. I waited a month...then two months and called corporate offices. I was told that someone will get back to me. Three months.. Four months... Five months...SIX months and they have neglected to return any emails of mine or even give me an ounce of respect. My car is over $35,000 and to be treated like this makes me sick!!The damages to my car were over $8,000 including all new module systems in my vehicle because they were found faulty. I have all my receipts about my damages and Lexus refuses to even answer me! When it comes to the safety of my children, I do not allow people to push me to the side.
