Buy Lexus Automobile 2023 Lexus IS
Ive upgraded the rating because the dealership decided to replace the water pump with a new one. It was not honored under the powertrain warranty; however, done as a good will gesture. The whole ordeal was terribly stressful but Im thankful I have a new water pump. I still think Lexus needs to work on Customer Service.
So comfortable, premium material, fast, looks, just beautiful. Would recommend this car to anyone. Next car next year will be Toyota, baby brother of Lexus, can’t wait. Just wish I purchased a Lexus sooner, such a great choice.
Probably this was my worst decision to buy a pre-owned 2014 Lexus IS 250 AWD back in 2016. I was certainly duped by looking at those J.D. Power ratings of dependability and reliability. Bought a pre-owned Lexus dealer certified 2014 IS 250 AWD and vehicle is in a very good in condition until a couple of days ago where AC was blowing hot air when I was doing a long trip with my family along with my newborn four and a half month old. The AC was working fine till we reach the destination and on our way back is where the AC did not work and we had to drive back home 140 miles under 95 degrees hot day with a four and a half month baby. I had shared my experience with my colleagues and they say I shouldve bought an extended warranty. Damn! Why in the world should I buy an extended warranty when I am paying so much for a car which is branded as reliable and dependable? This is nuts. So, I took my vehicle to the local Toyota dealer (obvious that the Lexus dealer is going to rip me off with their charges and that is totally fine because its LEXUS) and it costs me $700 to fix a sensor and redo the whole AC to be up and working. Very dissatisfied with Lexus and did not expected this kind of issue when the vehicle is still under 100,000 miles. Definitely, moving to a different brand in a very short time.
Ive read many of the reviews here and so sorry to hear of so many horror stories when dealing with Lexus. My wife and I own two, both 2015s: A GS350 and an RX350. The ironic part.... we bought them from a terrific local Carmax, not the local Lexus dealer. Both extremely low miles and in pristine condition; both bought in 2018. We LOVE the cars. Now.... the Lexus dealer here in Raleigh, NC is Johnson Lexus and, even though we didnt purchase the vehicles from them, they have been nothing short of fantastic in their dealings with us. They literally bend over backward to make their customers happy; prompt, fair, efficient, and GOOD service on our vehicles. Friendly, helpful staff. Do things for free very often. Just aces. So the moral of the story, IMHO, is it really comes down to the quality of the dealership you have in your area. If youre lucky enough to get a dealer like we have in Raleigh at Johnson Lexus.... youre good to go. If not? Potential nightmares. Guess the warning to potential Lexus buyers is this: Spend a LOT of time researching both the car AND the dealership before you act.
2014 ES300H - Will NEVER buy another Lexus nor recommend one to family/friends. They DONT stand by their product. Car was only 3 years old & the front passenger door lock malfunctioned. It needed a new door lock actuator. Because I was out of warranty (over 50K miles), they said it wouldnt be covered & the cost was significant. The dealership convinced them since the car was still new, they should cover the cost. Eventually they did. Approximately 9 mos after that lock malfunctioned, the driver side one did the SAME thing. Obviously theres some defective parts in this car given it just turned 4 years old. This time Lexus said theyre not paying for it - they already gave me a courtesy service last year. Can you believe this? Didnt want to hear anything about it even when I tried to call. Wow - so much for customer service! Car wasnt even 4 years old and BOTH door locks stopped working. Think there may be a serious problem here? This is not only an inconvenience but also a SAFETY issue! The dealership was even shocked Lexus wouldnt pick up the tab. Given the car sticker was $48K and bought brand new in 2014, you would think they would backup their product, especially a Lexus. Dont count on it... reconsider before you buy a Lexus!! Truly not the same car it used to be.
Offered several mid-sized SUVs which is what I was looking for. I was able to test drive three different models in a variety of colors. All models had DVD players, cruise control, automatic windows and were easy for car seat installation. There were some with heated seats and upgrades to Sirius player. Some had special headlights. You can also choose your warranty options. Its easy to fit at least five or eight people and to convert to capacity for more people if needed. Easy to remove third row.
I bought a Lexus GS 350, new in 2008. I previously owned (2) Lexus GS 300 and had not major problems with either. I bought the 2008 because I knew I was retiring, would be traveling (out of town parents/relatives) and there were such great reviews as it is now about the car: reliability, safety, craftsmanship. I maintained my car well, especially the oil changes, every 4,000 to 5000 miles. I had an oil change in Feb 2014, 86290 miles. On April 7, 2014, Low Engine Oil Level light came on (89676 miles), a total of 3,386 miles. I was told that the car was getting older and to check it and add oil if needed. May 21, 2014 the light came on again (92,847 miles) a total of 3,171 miles. And the list goes on! Of course the consumption tests says within consumption levels. I now have 121,817 miles on the car as of today. Im adding a quart of oil about every 2 weeks. I had the oil changed today 11/3/15 (**), and they wrote on the ticket oil level low prior to service. Lets see how long it will be before the light comes on again!Im sure Lexus knows theres a problem, no car just burns oil for no reason. I wonder are they telling those buying their cars that theres a Consumption problem after so many miles??? Probably not!! I have two friends, one with a GS 300 and the other a RX 300 that are having the same problem. I have a 1989 Mercury Marquis, within excess of 225000 miles, and Ive never had to add oil between oil changes. Nor has my husband who has a 2006 Ford Expedition with 148000 miles!! Something needs to be done and Lexus should take responsibility for this problem. Lets try to get it out to as many people as possible. If someone has a lawsuit in progress contact me, **. Id like to join the suit!!! Im 68 years old and shouldnt have to purchase another car; it wouldnt be a Lexus if I did!!!
I loved my Lex. It never let me down. There are lots of options with this brand of car from family cars to SUVs. Its very reliable and trustworthy. I know when I put my grandkids in my car, they are safe. Lexus offers sleek aerodynamic designs. A spacious comfortable interior is important to me, and Ive always had the passenger and trunk space I need when traveling. I bought my car used, so Im not sure about the upgrade and personalization options available through Lexus. I do have friends whove purchased new however, and they never had any complaints. My Lexus has a very spacious interior. I never have any problem taking my grandkids and all of their necessities in my car. Everything fits perfectly with room to spare.
2010 GX460 - This vehicle is 7 years old cost over $65,000. Lexus refuses to warrant the paint, they say the warranty is 4 years or 50,000 miles. This car has 39,000 miles on it hand washed since new. I had a paint company examine the paint and they determined that the factory E-coat failed causing the paint to split and peel, any stone chips and the peeling starts sooner. I contacted Lexus several times and now have been told they will NOT do anything, even after I informed them that I have another Lexus & Toyota in my garage, along with a list of previous Toyota vehicles I had owned previously. THEY JUST DONT CARE.
My Ls has been in Lexus dealer since Dec 5 2016. Today is January 13th 2017 and I have yet to receive my car back. The vehicle needs a new navigation hard drive. I have third party warranty which covered the repair ($1400 part + labor). Prior to getting the warranty I bought new front end suspension parts for the vehicle. ($5,000+ air struts, upper and lower control arms and hardware, sway links etc all Lexus parts all out of pocket expense) I have all receipts for the repairs done and parts bought. My Vehicle had no issue or problems beside the navi when I brought it in for service. My vehicle was dropped off at Lexus on Dec 5 for the hard drive issue and still have yet to be fixed. I received the car back on Dec 27th only because I needed the vehicle for the new year as my loaner was way too small to fit my family in. Is300. (My car was 3 weeks sitting in the dealer parking lot doing nothing but waiting for parts). When I picked it up on the 27th driving back home from the dealer, CHECK HYBRID illuminated. I panicked. I pulled over and called the dealer. No answer. They were closed already. I didnt have this issue before bringing it to the dealer. I didnt worry too much because repairs still wasnt completed and maybe thats what caused the issue so continued on my way home. No problem. My Vehicle was returned on Monday (January 2nd) first thing to complete repair and the battery was diagnosed. Trouble code PA080 hybrid battery failure. Lexus wants $7,800+ to replace battery and my third party warranty covers all hybrid components except hybrid battery. My advisor informed me that I just missed the hybrid warranty period. 8 years/100k. I was informed that the vehicle will not drive for long and will leave me stranded somewhere down the road eventually if I continue to drive it.I travel from Massachusetts to New York often and cannot take that big of a risk. So I Filed a complaint about the battery as well as poor service. Manager Diane ** contacted me 24 hrs later saying she will make the contact with my dealer to see what can be done and speak with her manager. Communication was absolutely horrible. I had to call corporate multiple times just to get a reply. Diane never called me when she said she would. So I called again and they said Oh she left a message for you saying that your dealer will contact you today with a resolution. (One week later) She says Lexus corporate offers me a $300 credit for the inconvenience. I said What? Thats horrible. I drive a Ls600hL. Theres nothing I can get done or buy with that. I took the offer. Only because they wouldnt offer any further assistance. Something was better than nothing. As far as the hybrid battery, I asked her again what can Lexus do about this? She pretended as if this was a new story I was giving her. As if I didnt discuss it before with her. When The initial complaint was filed, it was regarding the hybrid battery. She says she will get back to me. Today Jan 13 2017. Corporate calls me and says they denied my claim for the hybrid battery and wont assist me on it. I have owned a Ls430, Ls460, and now a Ls600hL. Lexus top flagship. Never thought I would get service like this with Lexus. And its sad to say but this will be my Last and FINALE LEXUS.I will not support a company that cannot support the customers. I stood behind you for a number of years and never asked for a thing. Now when I need assistance you send me to hell. I will continue to share this wherever I can so all long term Lexus customers will know that Lexus isnt Lexus no more. So be prepared for anything. I no longer see reliability with Lexus. Thanks for showing me real customer service Lexus!
Lexus come in various styles; Hybrids, sports, and sedan, and SUV models. The best thing is that it has safety issues, which is the state of the arts. Moreover, its reliable with lots of comfort and at affordable prices. I really like this brand. The comfort features are really nice and makes you truly enjoy all the comforts of sitting in your favorite chair in your home, which also comes in any of your favorite colors to fit even the most variety imaginable. The upgrade from the previous models are truly noteworthy. The GPS, along with rearview cameras and signaling when theres on coming traffic on either of your blind spots. The warning features are really good news. Theres also a lot of room available in both the front and back sits. You can comfortably fit five people in the sedan, and 11 individual the SUV model vehicle. The sports car however can only fit two passengers in that model.
Mr. David **, of Bell Lexus Service, Phoenix, AZ told me that this has been a known problem. I think this is a defective material issue that should have been disclosed before I purchased the Lexus, as I would not have purchased a car that I use for business that absorbed fabric dye from dark pants, skirts, etc. I expected better quality; especially from Lexus! My local detail shop cannot get the dye stains out of the sides of the seats and door panel. Bell Lexus did get it out and they put a sealer on the seats and door and within two days the stains were back. David told me that I could bring the car back for seat cleaning but not every week. David also suggested that I not wear expensive jeans or other dark fabrics in the car? Do I tell my clients the same thing? What if I purchased a leather sofa and this happened? Shouldnt the same principles apply? As a Real Estate professional, I use my Lexus in my business to transport clients. Appearance is an important part of my job. A stained interior will very likely cost me lost sales, lost listings, and fewer referrals. My car is a business investment. Even the non-professional Lexus owner would not like this happening to their supposedly high quality car.Since David was acting as an agent for the Lexus admits the problem; I want this issue addressed and corrected. It is obviously, an undisclosed defect, in that it is inferior quality material, especially with a tan interior. For certain, the sides of the seats and door panels are made from defective materials. Please correct this problem as soon as possible, for I do not want to suffer any further losses.
The brand of vehicle that I acquired is very comfortable, very pleasant to use for anyone who needs a safe transportation method and has great capacity. It has all the appropriate accessories and location systems. It also contains many improvements for a safe transfer.
I purchased an alleged 2016 lexus gs-350 from lexus of riverside on 4/29/2016. I reported a navigation defect to them in less than two weeks. They did nothing for 6 1/2 weeks and finally sent a dealership car and service tech. We drove both my car and dealership car. In go home mode it took us in a round-about manner to a dead end road in a different zip code. Both my car and dealership car failed and went to dead end road but I took my garmin gps in dealer car and it worked perfectly. The dealership refused to do anything and referred this problem to their lexus/toyota headquarters in Torrance, ca. The clerk at the headquarters said we would be put in a queue which would take 4 weeks.I spent hours researching, driving, photographing, documenting and sending over 30 emails to them but just got a letter giving me an assignment to send them documents they already had. I also called their 800# - useless. You get some clerk who only gives a first name and never gives you a case number. I have 1 week left for the 4-week queue, so will probably have to sue them since there is no available for this serious problem and they just delay hoping you go away.Next I photographed the navigation screen which shows that the navigation micro sd card is dated 8/1/2015 (gen 8) which according to their published literature is only for a 2015 gs-350. At this writing, the card will be 1 year old in 2 weeks and the service manager told me they usually come out around October for about $169. So either lexus sold me a 2015 and changed the date to 2016 or they are using old parts. I had leased 4 lexus ls series before - 1990, 1995, 1999 & 2004. The 2004 was terrible and constantly needed repairs. So I left lexus. But I read the glowing reports by consumer reports and tried the 2016 gs-350 due to its alleged safety features - big mistake.
My car failed due to the battery compartment taking on water. I went to the dealership and they advised me to put in a claim with my insurance company. My insurance company denied the claim as there was a service bulletin from 2009 about how to repair the issue. Needless to say my car is out of warranty and has over 130,000 miles on it. Regardless I was never aware of the bulletin. Had I been made aware of this I would have had the car fixed at my expense to avoid this issue. Why would they relay to the insurance company and not notify the customer and keep this a secret. Was it to avoid a recall of the cars? There is a blog site where the issue has come up on these cars. Where there not enough complaints? On a positive note corporate was advised of my issue and has agreed to offer a warranty price which came out to approximately 4300 to 4900 hundred dollars. Needless to say, this is much more than my 500 dollar deductible that the insurance company would have received if this bulletin had not come up. I love my Lexus RX 400 and recommend the cars there are the best of the best. Its this issue that keeps me up at night. I am still trying to resolve and feel that I should not have had to pay anything.
I have a 2013 350 Lexus with 43477 miles on my car. Sensor went out on the car, brought it to the dealership to get repair and what they told me I just could not believe what they said and the amount the dealership want me to pay. My car is still under factory warranty. Have anybody else had this problem with their factory warranty?
Purchased the pre-certified SUV (2013 Lexus GX 460) with 22k miles. The following week I noticed the front left bumper was detaching from the body. Brought it back to the dealer who sent it to auto body shop to have it repaired. He installed new pins. The following month noticed the same bumper plus the rear right bumper panel was falling off. Brought it back again, this time they placed a bracket into the panel. Approximately 6 months later, the same issue occurred so I kept pushing the panel back in. In June 2018 I noticed the rear and front bumper panels were worse than ever. Just returned from the dealer and was told at this point there is nothing they can do since this a manufacturing defect that is common with Lexus as well as Toyota vehicles. The only way it may solve the problem permanently is to replace both bumpers!! Owned a couple of Lexus SUVs in the past and never had this issue until I purchased this model. NEVER BUYING A LEXUS/TOYOTA AGAIN!!!!
For two generations, our family has been very loyal by purchasing Toyota cars to drive. For the last 40 years, our family has purchased and driven at least 25 Toyota cars. But we were disappointed with our brand new 2007 Lexus ES350. On December 27th, 2012, I read the article on Yahoo news about the Toyota Motors agreement for settlement of Unintended Acceleration. Well, I owned this 2007 Lexus ES350 and experienced that sudden acceleration problem when the car was set on cruise control driving on the freeway. Therefore, I submitted a written letter by email to Toyota Motors explaining my findings. The reasons for selling this car are because (1) I never heard any reply back from Toyota Motors after submitting a letter to customer service. (2) my wife and family members in Asia was afraid of us driving it in the United States with an accident. Furthermore, they live very far away to come to our immediate attention if we were involved in an accident. (3) Lastly, there were sad news happening here and there because of this sudden acceleration issue. Finally, I sold the car to CarMax dealership in Monrovia, California in March of 2011 with less than 7,000 miles on the odometer. At first, I even went to Longo Lexus/ Toyota (which is the largest Toyota dealership in the United States) to sell the car back, but they explained that there is no recall on my car. The Longo Lexus service foreman even went on a test drive with me in my car and on the street. Also, Longo Lexus/ Toyota refused to give me a reasonable offer to buy my car back. I paid $40,000 brand new and sold the car at a big loss for only $24,000 to CarMax with less than 7,000 miles on the odometer because we were afraid to drive the car.Continuously, our friends and family comfort me that life is more valuable than losing money on a known trouble car. How come Toyota never bothered to help when we have an issue? What happened to good old Toyota reputation? Kindly help me in this matter!
The salesman was great. The car when collected was great and then; no handbook for the sat Nav/Bluetooth etc. The dealer has tried over what are now months to obtain the handbook from Lexus but they refuse to even acknowledge the request. Established today that new Lexus are still being delivered without this handbook. For a luxury car this is totally unacceptable, I now wish I hadnt purchased the car. Ive been told to download it, all 300+ pages.
There is a wide variety available from Lexus, with each vehicle maintaining its dependable characteristics. There are sedan, SUV, mid-size, compact, and other models, so there is a wide selection with almost a guarantee to have at least a couple options that fit an individuals needs and wants in purchasing a car. The Lexus aesthetic features are that of a sleek body and exterior and distinct interior features like leather stitching. The vehicles have a smart key entry system, and many models have touchscreen controls and a navigation screen interface. There are tons of options available for upgrades and personalizations with Lexus. Upgrade options include performance-related ones like engine components and fuel systems, as well as aesthetic/personal interests like suspension systems and racing equipment. Passenger capacity for larger size sedans and SUV models are great. All models are comfortable for their individual capacities, and Lexus has a lot of models that can accommodate larger numbers of passengers while still allowing for cargo and extra things to haul in the vehicles.
I have a Lexus GS and noticed the roof molding peeling. I Google and discover it was a common problem. My windows and door locks stopped working. For a luxury car I expected much better reliability. I have 3 Toyota cars and only my older ones were OK. I have switched to Honda now and been very happy. They repaired the paint and windshield visor on my 2008 Civic which is 7 years old under warranty. At least Honda takes pride and responsibility for their cars. I now only buy Honda.
Lexus offers a lot of advanced technology and great interior as well as safety for the whole family. The appearance is very up to date and very flashy. It would fit anyones style and it can also be customized to fit the drivers style. There are also many options available to pick from. More great affordable options than other vehicles would have or offer. Plus passenger capacity is great and outstanding. Also very trustworthy and stands behind their words and promises to their customers and company. I would highly recommend this vehicle to anyone looking for a great car.
I recently purchased a 2010 RX350 (my fourth Lexus after owning a RX300, RX330, SC430). This has an extremely noisy engine upon start up and for the first 5-8 miles of cold operation. The noise has been identified by several online experts as such things as injectors, timing gears or chain but I believe and just recently confirmed with a Master Lexus Technician that its a poor piston design with their 3.5 L engines. The noise is a scuffed piston noise (indicating too much piston to cylinder wall clearance) and I also believe the piston skirt is too short allowing the piston to rock in the cylinder when it is started cold. I find that the Lexus store explanation that they all do it is not acceptable. I have a GM Duramax diesel that is quieter upon start up than this 2010 RX 350. I am guessing that at some point, the engine will begin to use oil and get louder. I am not sure what I will do as I may sell or trade of the RX350 because it is just unacceptable for this luxury car to sound so disgusting. I would not recommend this vehicle to anyone until a proper repair is completed. Probably should see about a class action suit against this engine.
I own a 2002 Lexus RX300 - and in 2012 - qt 10 years I had to buy a new transmission - Lexus new of the issue and would not do anything for its purchasers - Will never buy another Lexus and will tell anyone that will listen - Have neighbors that bought same car and experienced same thing - If you know there is an issue - LEXUS - Step up to the plate.
Lexus CT200 is 2015-16 the last year this hybrid was made. So glad we found one. We love it. Used car that is running with no issues. If you can find a used one, we are happier with the Lexus hybrid than their Toyota version.
We purchased a 2010 RX350 SUV on MAY 14, 2010. Started to notice around January 3, 2012, a thumping noise in the back of the SUV when stopping after going forward or backwards. We thought it was something loose in the trunk. Dealership said not to worry, many owners are complaining about the same thing. And, when there are enough complaints, Lexus will do more research to solve the problem. They are assuming that it has something to do with the rubber being too hard or too soft causing the thumping noise when stopping. Also said, this seems to be a normal function for this type model year vehicle and to bring up the concern each and every time the vehicle comes in for service in order to see if Lexus has come out with any repairs. My concern is the safety involved if this rubber does not support whatever it is suppose to do. My other concern is the warranty on the vehicle may expire before Lexus determines if this needs to be researched and recalled to fix the problem. Lastly, Its not likely we will be bringing in the vehicle, not unless its time for its check up. I was dissatisfied with the dealerships answer, and now am worried every time I drive the SUV. The mileage on the vehicle is 17,970.What is your answer for this problem? Thanks in advance.
In 2011 I bought a certified pre-owned 2007 ES350 with 27,000 miles. I experienced rough shifting-clunking and jumping forward on hills. I took it in 4 times to the dealer in Fife, WA and duplicated the problem with the service manager. They reset-updated the computer on the transmission 3 times. But I still have the same problem. I wanted the problem taken care of before the warranty expired. The service manager told me that they could not fix it and would not replace the transmissions computer.I have had two other Lexus. I am very disappointed with their response to this problem. I paid extra for the certification and what did I get? Not what I would expect from a QUALITY car company.
My first experience with Lexus dealerships here in WI put a sour taste in my face. In 2011 (I have an 05 rx 330) I took my vehicle in for the brake recall. Of course they said my brakes were fine but sent me home with an estimate for 5,000 in repairs needed. I was in tears but the car ran fine. Later found out none of it was true. My front headlamps have seized from moisture inside and they are so cloudy and dull I am afraid to drive at night. Lexus did NOT HONOR THE HEADLAMP WARRANTY. Later I went for an estimate for a clock spring repair, I was charged 180.00 for diagnoses of what I had already had diagnosed. No support from Corporate Office. Never again.
I bought a new 2013 Lexus ES350 last year, and was very excited. It was my first luxury car indulgence. Im 63 years old, and recently retired. Mechanically, the car ran and drove great. But, the lack of common sense creature comforts in the front cabin became such an irritation that I ended up trading it in - even though I took a depreciation hit of over $15K. Here are the specifics:1) It is very difficult to exit the car. The low ground clearance was difficult for me, especially since I have some hip issues. The other factor is that the door does not have an intermediate stop position. So, when you open it, it will tend to start closing on you. Many times I had to kick the door to keep it open, just so I could get out. You learn to do this after it shuts on your leg, which is quite painful. This was an issue for the passengers as well. In addition to just being annoying, the bottom door panel became filthy from all of the foot prints.2) There is ZERO convenient storage in the front cabin. I do a lot of detail work in the car, and just need a flat surface to put stuff down. If you look at the console closely, you will see that there is no flat area at all to put anything. The main console storage area crowns in the middle, and is back too far to be useful as a surface. The navigation joystick occupies the right hand side of the console. The shift lever occupies the left hand side. The beverage holder at the front has a sloped cover. The drivers side beverage holder is typically open, because thats the only place you can put your fob/phone/etc. There are no pockets or storage holes in the side of the center console. The end result is that a lot of stuff ends up dropping down between the console and the seat.3) If something does drop down between the console and the seat, there is no convenient way to retrieve it. The only way is to get out of the car, move the seat all the way forward (very slowly because it is a power seat), then open the rear door, get on your knees and reach under the seat from behind. Because of the power seat mechanism, you cant reach under from the front. Try this outside in 100+ degree heat, and it gets very old very fast. Especially when what you dropped is your key fob.4) This leads to my main complaint: The railings under the seats have not been machined, and have very sharp edges. After suffering my third very serious gash on my hand trying to retrieve what fell between the seat and the console, I just lost it. I traded it in not three days later.5) There is no place to put your phone - or even a sunglasses compartment above the rear view mirror. The only place to put stuff is in the drivers beverage compartment. Its like they went out of their way to remove any convenient storage and/or work area.I know to many, these complaints will seem petty. I guess if you drive a luxury car you shouldnt be concerned with these types of issues. But, after a year of putting up with kicking the door open, dropping stuff between the seat and the console, and getting blood all over my shirt and pants, I just couldnt take it anymore.
A little over a year ago we purchased a 1995 Lexus RX330. We purchased the vehicle as our first luxury vehicle with the hopes that the money would be well spent on luxury and quality of the vehicle. But after having the vehicle for almost 1 year we noticed that the dash started cracking along the front edge and then after picking my wife up from work one day a large chunk of the dash right above the radio broke off and fell to the floor. We immediately called Lexus and asked about having the dash repaired they informed us that there was a recall on the dash and to call Lexus about having the dash repaired. We called Lexus and notified them of the cracked Dash and they informed us that there is indeed a recall for the cracked Dash but they told us the date for the recall expired the day before we called. But that they would look into it and see if there was something they could do.We took the time to take the vehicle to the local Lexus dealer to have pictures taken. Have it inspected and sent to Lexus so that they can review it only for them to call us and tell us they were denying the repairs on the vehicle. So now we are stuck with a vehicle in which the resale value has plummeted due to the crack Dash. Im very disappointed with Lexus that they do not stand behind their vehicle or even offered to pay a portion of the dash to be repaired. If this is how Lexus treats their customers I no longer want this vehicle and will be trading it in as soon as possible. My wife and I were also considering buying another new Lexus because we did like the vehicle until we see that Lexus does not stand behind their vehicle quality at all!!!
I am an owner of Lexus RX 400h. The manufacturing year of my Lexus is to be seen in the attached figure: September 2007. It is extremely interesting that the curtain and side did not open airbags when my car crashed over. However, the commercial materials and specifications issued after September 2007 wrote about a protection system of 360, according to which curtain and side airbags open automatically in case of car crash over. After years of research it was confirmed and the representative of the manufacturer recognized, as well that no RX 350, 400h manufactured and approved in Europe contains such a system. This way Lexus Europe misled its customers in the issued commercial materials. Lexus Europe is silent disposing, no recall as it is hard to find a remedy for this problem. As a lonely fighter I brought an action against Lexus Europe for its default. If you have such a car, or you are interested in this issue, you are free to join me here.
Katherine of Tucson wrote about her experience with Lexus which is identical to my experience. ISX50 cars - 2006-2007 have a faulty airbag wiring harness which deactivate all SRS systems. Only answer is to complain to NHSTA.
I purchased a brand new 2015 Lexus IS 250 in the South Atlanta Dealership. I cant complain about Bryan, the person who sold it to me. He was great. Now I had to bring it in for my first free 5000 miles service. I drove 1 1/2 to Atlanta thinking they were going to do the first oil change. When I get there they tell me it is not for an oil change. That my vehicle because it is the F Sport doesnt require an oil change until it reaches 10,000 miles so all they did was check the fluids and the minimum service supposedly required. Now I just took it in for my 10,000 mile service and they do the first oil change. I ask Colby what oil they use, the blend or the full synthetic and he tells me he used the full synthetic. The full synthetic would not require me to change the oil until the following 10,000 miles but when I leave the dealership and I look at the sticker they place on the windshield I notice it requires me to change the oil in the next 5,000 miles. I do not understand. So I am guessing they used the blend and not the full synthetic. Not only that, when they give me the paper stating the car was complete and I go out to get my car I see a young gentleman jump in my car and drive off on it. I ask one of the person at the service desk why did they take my car again and she starts trying to contact and find out who had it. A couple of seconds passed and here they bring it back to me. As the young gentleman comes out of my vehicle he states he had left something inside my vehicle and had to get it, but why just not open the vehicle and take whatever item he had left inside instead of driving off on it? Now 10 days later my maintenance light comes on stating my car is due for an oil and filter change. I called the Lexus service department and they tell me they forgot to do the reset and that is why the light was coming on so they guide me on how to do it through the phone. I am really disappointed about the service provided here. Dont know if they just didnt care because it was the first 2 free services provided to me. Honestly I love my Lexus but I am not sure if I will drive another 1 1/2 to just get a poor service done on my vehicle. Will probably just use a Toyota dealership here in my area.
I took my Lexus to Wilmington Delaware Koons. They say that my SUV was in good condition. Meaning no problems. I took my SUV to New York and noticed that I need an oil change. None of my filter was ever changed. The oil was dirty. I mean really look like mud. New York stated to me that I may get oil flushed and you cant let your oil get this dirty. I was really, really upset. I showed him the papers from Koons where my oil was done less than a month ago. My filters was changed. Lexus Koons took my money and never changed my oil. Lexus Koons stated that my car need a harness wire. That would cost $2900.00 plus labor. It had problems starting. My brother cleaned my battery cables. My car has been running fine.
Tried to get remote starting hooked up to car. Worst service possible. Remote starting wont work. Money wont be refunded and getting run around and disconnected for two days. Really. This is a Lexus.
The Lexus vehicles look very professional and you can tell they were made the highest quality materials in the market. The advanced technology features are a big plus that this brand comes with. Theres the ones made for families and ones made per individual use of a specific person to use. Depending on your lifestyle, the brand offers what consumers would need the most. It does not provide a lot of passenger capacity but it makes up that with other features that the brand offers in its vehicles overall. I would not advise big families to choose this brand but it is still good. Im also basically satisfied with the amount of personalization allowed for this brand of vehicle. Just about anything you can imagine changing, this brand allows it to happen easily.
Lexus ES300H is my dream car. Become my nightmare now. My new car water leaking into the car within 6 months & 8 months. The 1st incident was the sunroof leaking and the 2nd incident was the aircon evaporator coil. I am very disappointed such a premium given such problem. Furthermore, Lexus Service Centre does not have the spare parts on hand. Therefore, I got to wait for a month plus for Lexus Service Centre to repair it.
Lexus has models from small fuel efficient vehicles to roomy SUVs all at great price points especially for what you get. Many of the smaller cars and small SUVs are hybrid which is great option. It has all the bells and whistles which almost makes me feel dumber than the car. I especially love the GPS and hook up to phone to play music feature. My car already included top of the line features except chrome wheels. But I love that even their baseline models have nice features. The back passenger space can be tight on some of the vehicles but definitely comfortable. The leg room in the front seats to be excellent. My husband is 6ft tall and has lots of leg room. I also like the third row seat option which makes it able to accommodate more passengers.
I purchased brand new RX 350 in April 2012. I thought its time for a new car and I deserved a nice car for working so hard. Ive driven my 02 Civic ever since and had no problems. I noticed my rear driver side mirror looked melted and side panel/spoiler(back wing) had rippled lines. Dealer Modesto and Lexus Corp both deny its under warranty due to possible low effiency windows reflections to my car. Which I baloney. So you are telling me the quality of your car is crap and cannot handle sun/heat? I went to Lexus in another city and the manager said he would replace it under warranty but due to Lexus Corp denying my case he could not order the parts for me. So how can Lexus Corp not help me when another dealership can? If anyone had any similar issues, please let me know/suggestions/opinions on this. Would greatly appreciated. I feel that this is brand new car and should not have any paint/body issues. So paying more doesnt always mean you get good quality or service.
I got the basic model that cost me 35 grand which was under my budget so I was happy about it. And it runs very well with minimal repairs. Color is gray so it does not get dirty easily. It looks very cool and all my friends wish they had the same one and they all love to take a ride with me. Capacity is great since it meets my needs. I usually travel with 3 other people but sometimes 4 so it fits 5 and enough room for luggage and food. No need to upgrade or personalization. I am perfectly happy.
Lexus RX 350 is a dream SUV for senior citizens because it is comfortable, reliable, and safe. The back up camera and other safety features are awesome. You sit up in a position where you can see the road and everything around you and it is just the right size for large men. I love it!
My 2013 Lexus RX350 has only 5000 miles on it and its muffler shows signs of rust stains. The car has been parked in garage from day 1. Its very disappointing.
Ive been a Lexus owner for many years but recently got a shock on the service charge.. Very high compared to previous services. On examination, most things listed were checked and the supposed listing of balanced all wheels Im told by insider staff did not take place, as did a number of other things. Its likely less than 2 hours was spent on the service but they charged the full service fee. On top of that there is an unexplained miscellaneous charge. I doubt many of the things listed took more than a min or 2 and the labour charge is inflated. I suspect these costs are deliberately inflated motivated by greed, personal bonuses etc and it seems to me that Lexus has changed its approach from providing clear and reasonable service to customers to one of ripping them off and not caring at all.Owners should be told in advance of the basic cost of a service and not be surprised by large charges, and clearer explanations should be given. This is the norm for any service e.g. visiting the Dr or any other professional or trade services. There seems to be an attitude at Lexus that its a prestige car, therefore customers should pay more. Some friends and colleagues also with Lexus cars have found the same.. ie increase in charges without notice and the lack of pre service consultation. Lexus used to have my loyalty and trust.. No more..
I have a 10-year-old 2002 RX 300. The 3-button key casing broke and I need a replacement. I called the Englewood, NJ Lexus dealer and the Parts Dept. said I must come down with proof of ID and ownership (which is perfectly acceptable) and the Master Key, plus it takes 2 days to get the key and costs $260. If I dont have the Master Key, then there is no replacement! This is utterly wrong on several levels, but the main complaint is that, $260 for a key with a simple electronic code seems over-the-top for people who desperately need a key for their car. Half that cost would be considered high, but $260!?
Went to trade my Lexus in for a 2015 model. Lexus estimated the value and noticed the dashboard was all cracked. I have had a cover on it since new and the car is garage kept. Since the cover was on I never lifted it up to clean. Lexus said it would cost $3000.00 to replace. The Lexus has only 60K miles. Very disappointed with Lexus/Toyota. They would not even give me deal to have it repaired. Going to buy a Mercedes and tell everyone I know what has happened and that Lexus will do nothing to keep their image.
I have been a customer of Lexus for 12 years, this is my last car with them. They are rude, non-accommodating, and flat out lie. Seems there is no point in having a recorded line because clearly if its not to their benefit it is non consequential. They call about important matters, from random ** phone numbers and NEVER leave a voicemail, and months later state we tried contacting you!!! I am a professional, I dont have time for mediocrity. I will never purchase another Lexus, nor will I ever again recommend them to my colleagues.
I bought my 2006 GS300 1/07 with 7,000 miles. I had all maintenance performed at the dealership since ownership. Absolutely nothing performed elsewhere, whether oil/filter, tires, brakes, etc. All periodic maintenance was religiously performed. My car would rough idle occasionally, and it began eating oil several years ago. Numerous oil consumption checks, and many, many trips to the dealership. My check engine vsc light came on 1/5/15, something that had occurred previously on multiple occasions, and I immediately took it to the dealership. Was told I NOW need the engine misfire repair, which to my understanding includes replacement of the pistons. Lexus Satisfaction has to get involved after the request for the repair from the dealership was denied by Lexus because the car is now 9 years old (which coincidentally just occurred). The engine misfire repair will be performed as long as the car is less than 9 years old. I then battled with Lexus Dissatisfaction and was ultimately informed they would not compromise on their decision. It is truly a very disappointing decision. Nothing more than typical corporate games. I will NEVER purchase another Lexus.
I have owned about 7 cars in my lifetime...3 of them were Lexus. They drive so well. They make you have a great day as you are driving it even when things are not going so well that day. It is my car of choice. I think everyone should have the experience to own a Lexus. If I could give my family one gift during my lifetime, they all would get a Lexus because I think it is a great car. There is no car like it.
I called Lexus customer rep, no help. They will not fix. So why pay the high price for Lexus when it is cheap product. Please look at all your Lexus gx460 2013 model. All metal folding seat have rust my.
This brand goes to great lengths to add detail to the interior of the car. The detail makes the car feel classy. Intuitive gauges to slick interior is one of the reasons I keep coming back. Gauges are setup in a way that makes it easy to read. Car stark is awesome. The options on wheels was something I liked and upgraded audio was something I found extremely valuable. Updated dashboard lighting was also a plus. Im happy with the amount of space inside the vehicle. I have a family of four plus a dog and never have any issue packing my car for trips.
I recently purchased a 2019 Lexus ES 350. I have owned the car for 4 months now. When I originally purchased the car I advised my sales person that the rear speakers were not working. Of course she said yes they are and did some minor adjustments. Then my husband and I were joyriding and he realized there was no output from the rear speakers. So I called Lexus, made an appointment and took the car in for service. Later that day I received a call from the service advisor, advising me there was a problem with the woofer and the speakers but there was nothing they could do about. He stated, We are aware there is an issue but we are waiting on lexus. So I responded, You guys are aware there is an issue with the car but you are not notifying the consumer before purchasing a car? He replied, It looks that way; but as soon as we get a resolution we will inform you.So next I called corporate and spoke with a call center representative and then a supervisor who stated the same thing. We are aware of the problem and will notify you when we have a resolution. Now the problem I have with that is that Lexus has yet to inform or notify the consumer publicly that there is an issue the 2019 Lexus ES350. Instead they are continuing to take our money and we are left to deal with problem. That is so unfair.I have done my research and there have been numerous complaints with no resolution. I would love to expose LEXUS for not addressing this issue nor notifying the public. I am so frustrated and hurt. I just want my car fixed in a timely fashion and not to have other consumers ripped off or taken advantage of. Please call me (**)or respond to me via email to investigate Lexus.
Rain sensor for wipers does not work properly... Wipers are always wiping in dry conditions. The sensor is bad. The dealership cant change out as they say Lexus wont pay for part. I have a 2014 rX350 which Ive complained about this since the car was 6 weeks old (purchased end of Oct 2013). Now the car is 8 mos old and Ive brought in at least 3 times with this problem. Whats up with Lexus? Quality Performance of this feature is not satisfactory. Reliability of this feature is nil.
Radio panel where you see radio stations and the camera for backing up just continuously flickers and strobes. Sometimes it stays clear of 5 minutes then for no reason starts flicker again. Very distracting and dangerous when driving especially at night. No response from Lexus and dealers claim no knowledge but happy to sell me a new car. Issue is well tracked on the internet. Not the brand it used to be. Never again.
I leased an ES 350 2016, I could not believe in three years or less how a car could be modified. 2016 Lexus was roomy, elegant, comfortable, quiet. 2019 Lexus, tight, seats not as comfortable, noise, and more of a sports feel instead of luxury and comfort. DO NOT DO IT. I have only had vehicle for less than a month and regretting it. Showed and mentioned to siblings who also drive Lexus and they are now looking at other options, first time in years.
RX and LX new for 2017 have plenty of innovative extras for driving safety, luxurious interior and shine, electronic power steering, spoke alloy wheels, and customized temp controls. They have ambient lighting and handcrafted trim, eight speed automatic transmission, 5 passenger capacity that have plenty of added head and legroom, entertainment center for a more enjoyable trip and all the loaded extras for comfort and safety. They also have low emissions rating for a greener environment, race inspired detail and all weather drive.
On January 18, I filed a complaint about my accident with 2007 Lexus 460 where none of the safety features in the car operated which exposed me and the passengers to serious danger and hospitalization. You definitely know that European cars are well equipped with operating safety features. Of course, I was disappointed with Lexus’s safety features failure. This may drive us to think which is safer, Lexus or Mercedes or other European cars. I do look forward to hearing from you favorably. Thank you.
The garage door opener on my new RX350 opens the door from inside the garage, and closes the door when sitting directly in front of the garage. But with the door closed it wont open the door. I have a $12 mobile opener clipped to my visor. Service department sent out a tech to verify that I had the opener programmed correctly. IT worked for him one time, but then wouldnt work for me. He came back and couldnt get it to work. I think the signal is just weak, or the antenna is not hooked up. But I dont like not being able to open the garage door with my $53k car. Im sure this is not a common problem for Lexus but Id like to see some resolution to this problem.
Lexus was very reliable, smooth and sleek, and I couldnt ask for a better car. It was great, beautiful and it had all kinds of features that made it one of a kind type of vehicle. I could not see myself driving nothing else and I literally thought it was one of the most beautiful cars I have ever seen or driven. It would literally turn heads when I drove by. It would fit up to 6 people comfortably and still handled perfectly. I enjoy every minute of every day driving this car. A friend recommended it to me and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a top of the line, classy, gorgeous vehicle.
Ive heard this same story from at least half of the IS owners I know or have asked if they had the same issue. This is unacceptable. I see older Lexi with 200k+ miles with perfectly function Nav screens. Not sure what Lexus is thinking...
If you own Lexus ES350 and 300h model from 2013 to 2018, watch your trunk lid. It has design defect and mild wind can bring it down at three time the speed and hurt you. The trunk lid has spoiler which Lexus has never tested in open condition and is hurting many people. Per Lexus this is normal. We are ready to file lawsuits for Lexus. They ignore safety hazard.
Why Scout GPS Link is only available on select 2018 model year (NX, RX...) with the Lexus Display Audio multimedia head unit? The reason why I ask this question is that the existing GPS is cumbersome to use comparing with Scout GPS Link. It should be very simple and easy to implement it with the existing system of Lexus as I am a software engineer with more than 30 years of experience. Please let me know if you need my help. This add-in will definitely benefit all of Lexus car users. Thank you.
You can always spot a Lexus. Theyre sleek, stylish, fully luxurious and theyre desired. It has modern features, has a streamlined body and its very beautiful. There are so many options, too. Sedans, SUVs, convertibles, they literally have everything you could want. You can get leather seats, custom colors and custom paint jobs if you desire. You can also get fuel economy features, and some awesome entertainment options if youre into that. Bluetooth equipped so you can connect your mobile device for hands-free operation. In addition, you can have as many as five or six passengers depending on the model. If you need more capacity, there are SUV options to suit your needs. A full sized sedan also has ample seating and youre never going to feel claustrophobic. If youre looking for affordable luxury, Lexus is the right choice.
My Lexus RX350 is 5 years old and has been perfect. No reliability issues and unsettling surprises. Ride is rock solid, very comfortable, and restful after a very long drive.
I bought my brand new 2012 Lexus RX 350 in 2011 and luckily I bought platinum service with it. In 2016, when I feel the pulsation in my ride, I brought my car in for a checkup. The salesperson Mitchell ** told me a bunch of issues with my car and told me that I need to pay for the extra services with came up to be roughly $1,500. Thats ridiculous when I have the platinum warranty. I told him to look at my coverage and only do the work that are covered. He then told me that I need to pay the $148.71 fee since they had the technician assessed my car. That was absurd since I already told them the issue and the technician jumped into the car and took a ride and agreed with that but I have to pay for his fee?I was like whatever, if I pay that fee then they will fix my issues. After I paid the fee, Mitchell then told me that he had to call Lexus warranty service to check on the coverage and it will take a couple of days. He says those parts will be cover but he still needs to get a confirmation with Lexus warranty. So I unhappily left the service center and totally forgot about it. When I remember about the issue after I got the oil change, I went home and pulled out the contract that I first bought the warranty and surprisingly. Its listed in black and white that the rear shocks and ball joints are covered. So I showed it to the new salesperson and hes happily helping me with that. Only to replace the leaking rear shock. But not the ball joints since they are now in perfect condition because I got new tires. How is it that when I first brought in my car, those were the issues that you made me pay and now since its covered under the warranty, they are fine now? Its the same old ball joints. Time does not fix mechanism issues on automobiles without replacement.
I took my car in for diagnosis, after hearing a low grinding sound. He a bearing in the pump was failing and the pump needed to replace at a cost between $2,500 and $3,000. To access that pump, the engine needs to be removed, that takes 16 hours! While youre having that work done, he told me to also have the spark plugs replaced. Get this, the average cost to replace them is $311 to $396. The parts cost is less than $20. The remainder of the cost is labor. I think the costs for doing minor repair jobs is ridiculous - whoever heard of removing the engine to replace the water pump (replacing the plugs at the same time, saves you money). Id like to meet the numskull responsible for this thoughtless design and tell him a thing or two. Do these two minor job.
Lexus is the best on the market. If you want a brand that is top notch, this would be the purchase of your dreams. The variety of this car comes with multiple colors and different accessories in the different designs it has to offer its most valued loyal customers. The appearance is brilliant in each different car design. It has amazing functions and capabilities in the different types of vehicles youre looking for and the features are like no other youve seen before. It has various upgrades from design, to accessories, built in DVD, compass, four wheel drive. It can function in all seasons with one tire year round. Passenger capacity holds up to 6 people. If you want less passengers and more room, it has an electronic capability to fold a back seat into the floor for more personal room. It is beyond a five star company and I would recommend this to anyone looking for a resilient version of the car.
I bought a new brand Lexus IS 350 one month ago. Now with only 600 miles driven, the car brake pads are not working. Lexus warranty also does not cover brake pads because they know that their brake pads quality is more than **. If I have to change its brake pads in every 600 miles then I have to change my brake pads 100 times until mileage of 6000 miles. Every time I will spend $300 to buy new pads so only pads will cost me $30,000. United States should consider businessing with Japan who sell Chinese products.
Some of their cars are sporty looking, some are fully loaded and some are not. I like the newer models and the black on black with the GPS in it. Their standard features are automatic windows and a lot of loaded options to choose from no matter what you like. I like the GPS in the dash and the electric seat buttons and many other things that can come with this type of vehicle. You can do a lot of upgrades, too. In addition, theres a lot of room. Very, very cozy, enough space no matter how big or small you are. Its a perfect fit for anyone even if youre tall. Its a great roomy vehicle.
I am just finishing my last lease of a Lexus NXT200, the quality has been going down drastically, I had many issues in the past three years but the most annoying one is that the AC will take over 5 minutes to start cooling, really UNACCEPTABLE. I spoke to the service team and escalated this to different levels within the organization and the response was that this model and other SUVs do have this delayed feature? BAD THING!
Lexus RX350 is very reliable and comfortable machine. Handles well, quiet interior, and no maintenance issues. The interface to the control screen menu and Nav is very good. This interface was the least obtrusive and less distracting than many other vehicle’s systems which use a distracting round knob. My only suggestion would be to move the driver’s auto-window controls so that the front windows align with my left hand. These window controls are slightly off and result in the wrong window opening or closing. Overall a very above average car.
In January of 2011, I purchased a 2007 LS460L. The quality of the ride is what swayed me from purchasing a Mercedes. The vehicle had 40k miles on it and had 4 months left on time of warranty. I purchased the extended warranty and left a happy Lexus owner! Fast forward to Sept 2011, I noticed a thumping noise from the rear of vehicle. While having new brakes installed, I asked my local Goodyear tech to check out the noise. They checked and informed me that it was a common problem on virtually all LS models with air suspension. By coincidence, the techs father was a tech at local Lexus dealership. They informed me that instead of paying them, I should take it to Lexus as they knew of the issues and would fix under warranty. I did, only to be informed that my factory warranty had expired due to time (by 120days), and that the only exclusion in my extended warranty was, you guessed it, shocks! The problem I was told was the right rear air cylinder. It cost $1700 to repair. Lexus, being the quality company that they are, offered to cover the labor if I would pay the cost of the part. The cost of the part is $500. I agreed, scheduled the repair etc. When I picked the car up (and wrote the $500 check), our child noticed that nothing in the back seat area functioned - seat controls, shade control and safety belts! I called the dealer (cell phones) and asked if they possibly had to remove the rear seat to replace the air cylinder. Yes was the answer, so I explained the issue. I took vehicle back. Fifteen minutes later, they explained that the tech forgot to plug back in the wire harness. I left again with my Lexus riding like I expected a Lexus to ride, happy Lexus owner.I wish the story ended there, but nope. Twenty-eight days later, I began hearing the thumping noise again. This time it was with the left rear. I called my Lexus service rep and informed him of the exact same issue again, 30 days later. I explained that I had been on Lexus owner forums since last issues and knew that this was an issue on virtually all LS models. I did not expect to again pay $500 to repair a defect in the vehicle, that I wanted it fixed at no cost. He advised me that I needed to call the Lexus 25 line. I did. I explained it all to the call center answer person. She asked me what I was wanting them to do. I explained that not only did I want them to repair, but I wanted my $500 back from the previous repair. She explained that I would need to schedule to take my vehicle back to dealer and have them diagnose. I did. The funny thing is that this time, I noticed on sheet it said the it was worn strut mount. I called Lexus 25 line again and asked what the repair was labeled last time. They replaced the shock mount assembly. I wonder why they told me it was an air cylinder. They informed me that they would again extend me the offer of me paying $500 to fix their defect. I declined and have asked to speak with a dist. rep. She informed me that they are on the road all the time and may have a hard time contacting me. I politely explained that today, with email and cell phones, I expected a prompt return call. Ill let you know when I hear from him or her! By the way, Facebook, a social media, is a beautiful marketing tool. Lexus uses it! The downside is that I do too! I went to their Lexus Cars page and posted my complaint right there in the middle of all their wonderful posts about their wonderful cars. I encourage everybody to do the same. Social media is not just to sell products. Its to inform people!
Great mileage, wonderful ride and a dream to drive. This car drives like a little sports car even though its a hybrid. The steering is tight, I only had it a couple of days when I was cut off on the freeway. I would have been in a major accident had I been driving my old Prius. It handles like a dream. Very small turning radius, which also makes it easier to drive.
I had an oil leak under my 2003 Lexus GX 470. I was told it was from the transfer case and electronic actuator. The cost to repair would be $2,000 because it required 20 hours of labor to replace a seal. I told them to forget it. I went on the Internet and found similar problems other owners were having--same type of $2,000 charge.I found one person who said that he did the repair himself, described the procedure and took pictures. It was a simple O-ring replacement in the electronic actuator. I crawled under my car, took my own pictures and compared them to his pictures. The leak looked similar. I took the instructions and pictures to a local repair shop, not Lexus.I went over the information with the owner and he said it looks pretty simple. He put my car on a lift, raised it, removed 3 bolts and slid off the actuator. The O-ring was bad. Lexus did not have an O-ring in stock but Toyota did, which was the same part number. The O-ring was $5.00. Lexus was probably charging $20.00. He replaced the O-ring and reinstalled the actuator in less than one hour. This $2,000, 20-hour labor job took one hour and cost me just $85.85. Now, that makes me feel good but very angry at the same time, knowing how I could have been ripped off. I just want to let the public know that you should do some investigation on the Internet before making a high dollar commitment. You might find an answer that will save you thousands of dollars.
Brand new car today (2019 ES 350 with luxury package). Beautiful ride and handling. Sound system is HORRIBLE. I dare you to try and get adequate sound from rear speakers! With the fader its all or nothing. If you toggle to get more volume from the rear, the front speakers cut out completely. The sound was just as good in cars I owned during the 70s. I bought the car in Brossard (South Shore, Montreal). First thing I noticed is that there were 188 kilometers on the new car (about 140 miles). Thats like driving half-way from Montreal to NYC! Then, I had trouble loading a CD to listen to the sound. Turns out there was already a CD in it... Rap Music, to boot! I can only imagine where this new car has been before I got in it. Dealer (Gabriel Lexus) didnt give a damn... I was told simply to enjoy the car... My first stop was the car wash, where I got the guys to clean the windshield of film and streaks. Previously, I owned 16 Nissans and Infinitis in a row (sixteen vastly better experiences!). I hope I feel better about LEXUS tomorrow, after a good night sleep.
I visited JM Lexus where I leased my NX200. I had a accident about 4 weeks before lease end. I spoke to a manager about the procedure of returning the vehicle if it was damaged. he went into the computer, and stated to me that I had the excess wear and tear plan, and I was covered at $2000.00 per incident up to $7500.00. I explained to him that I was going to take it to my insurance company, and pay a $500.00 deductible, and have the vehicle repaired. He assured me that the plan would cover the damage, and just return the vehicle. I did what he told me to do, and my new vehicle arrived about two weeks later. The night before, I got a invoice from Lexus for $6500.00. I forwarded this information to the salesperson, and he said the damaged should have been covered. After speaking with his manager, it wasnt covered. Problem is now the vehicle was sold at auction, and I cannot put in a claim with my insurance company. I spoke to the Manager at the dealership, and he told me that when the car was turned in the salesman was supposed to inspect it, and he would have told me there was too much damage. That never happened. I told this guy from the get go there was a lot of damage, but he was sure it would be covered. Now Lexus is trying to put me on the hook for the damage, because somebody there dropped the ball. It is just aggravating to me that I was going to put the claim in to my insurance company, and this whole thing would have only cost me $500.00, and I listened to the Lexus representative instead. Looks as though to me the Wear and Tear plan is a scam.
Lexus RX300 - At 99,000 miles the transmission had to be replace. Now the new one which I was told the only remanufactured part was the casing, has failed at 24,000 miles. They are making customers pay for repairs because of warranty running out. Does this make them unaccountable when with all these complaints they knowingly put in bad parts? Why isnt this being investigated? Do you know how dangerous it is to have a transmission fail when driving on a highway? Do people have to die before this issue is taken care of in a professional manner without lying or corrupted intentions? I am not paying for their corrupted actions. Everyone who has a problem needs to file with National Highway Traffic Safety for recalls &/or reimbursement!
2003 ES Lexus - I bought the car used in 2005, it had 10,000 miles on it. I paid $30,000 for it. After I had it for a couple of months, I started seeing a blue smoke coming out of the exhaust. I called Lexus and was told there was nothing they could do about it. I called a friend at Spritzer where I bought it and was told they were having an oil sludge problem in some of Lexus older model cars, so he called someone he knew at North Hills Lexus and they admitted they were having some problems with sludge engines and they would repair it free. I was very happy. That was at 20,000 miles. At about 40,000 it started smoking a little again. I just let it go thinking it wasnt that bad. Big mistake. Now I have a car that when I start it up, the car looks like its on fire. This engine has 80,000 miles on it so I talked to Lexus USA. They told me to take it to a dealer and run a test on it. I took it to Rohrich Lexus in Pittsburgh - very nice people, very helpful. The service manager was excellent. He ran tests and found that there was oil sludge building up in the engine again. So, I called Lexus USA to see what they wanted me to do. I was told their man Jimmy would contact me. Well after several days went by and repeated calls, he called and said his regional manager would be by and determine what would happen.Well to get to the point, he said that since I didnt have it serviced at Lexus, theres nothing they can do about it. My son-in-law owns a garage so he did the oil changes for me. They didnt want to hear it. So now Im stuck with a Lexus that isnt worth ** with an engine that only has 80,000 miles on it. They wont help me at all. Thanks Jimmy, you were of no help at all. I called you 10 times, you called me back twice. Good luck with your cars.
Luxury cars at their finest - Beautiful cars and so sleek with factory wheels and chrome everything. Some even have heated steering wheels so hands dont get cold. Even though they may be expensive, you get what you pay for. The deluxe editions have cd players, moonroofs, sunroofs, tinted windows, leather interior, and chrome rims. Definitely spacious enough to have plenty of people ride along. Back seats are roomy enough for four people to sit comfortably. Lexus LS 400 models are the ones that I have owned and I was in love with both of them. They have everything on them from heated seats to moonroofs. The first one I ever owned had a six-disk cd changer built into the trunk.
Hybrid or gasoline, the Lexus dealer has from small cars to large cars, small SUVs to large SUVs. There is a huge selection of colors and options. There is a price point for almost everyone. Plus all vehicles fit at least 4. It just depends on your needs. They have an SUV for 8 passengers. You decide if you need to transport that amount of people and want to drive a really big SUV. Lexus has very advanced technology standard in every vehicle. Upgrades are very personal. Full leather wood steering wheel colored rims. Overall pure luxury- easy driving and handling. Incredible safety record great standard technological options. You will be safe and feel safe.
Full line of sedans, sporty coupes, hybrids and performance vehicles including the IS, GS, LS which are reliable. They look great whether youre going out of the town or to a business meeting and want to make a positive impression. For instance, the IS Turbo has a very aggressive engine that is responsive and sounds great. The seats hug you through the curves. Also, the vehicle comes with the basic amenities that you want in a sports car. You do not buy this vehicle for passenger occupancy but for its high performance and overall driving ability. With that said, I am a good sized man and I fit in the drivers seat comfortably. Overall, I do not have any issues with the vehicle and its been an awesome experience.
I own a 2008 Lexus IS 350. My navigation system went out after three and a half years and Lexus said that since I was over the three-year warranty period, they would not replace it. I would have to pay $1,900.00. I find this ridiculous and when I called the Lexus Client Service Assistance, they offered little help. How can you own a car for only three and a half years and have your navigation system screen not work and not have it covered by such an elite car company? I cannot use the touch screen at all and Lexus has still yet to contact me after my complaint.
Never thought I would be writing a negative post about Lexus! I purchased a 2015 GS350 F Sport that was certified back in November 2018. It had 24,000 miles. It is still under the Manufacturer Warranty as well as the Certified Warranty. Last month I noticed the finish on the rims was peeling. I took it to the dealer and they took photos to send to the district Manager. I was told I would hear back in about a week of a resolution. Two weeks later, I still had not heard anything. I called the service rep. He told me he would get back with me. Later that day he called and said that the District Manager said that it did not appear to be a Manufacturer issue. Dissatisfied, I called Lexus Corporate and after many phone calls back and forth was told that they will not do anything about it! This is completely unacceptable. I will be sure to tell everyone know how Lexus does not stand behind their warranty!!
I wanted a certain blue color but there were not many choices. I wouldve gotten a different car that came in the color I wanted but my husband insisted on getting a Lexus. When I got it, it was shiny and looked as new as any car Ive ever seen. On the inside I had no problems as it was clean and well kept. My husband says there werent many options for customization or upgrades. He also said that we wouldnt need it anyways because the car is perfect as it is. I only needed 3 seats but there is more room than that so we can put other things in the seats when we arent using them and if we do need the extra seating for whatever reason, we can put the other stuff in the trunk.
Very happy with car in general. I have had specific problems with the occupant window motors. The front occupant window stopped working shortly after the warranty expired. I was upset but paid the bill. Now, Im at over 140,000 and both back windows and you guessed it the occupant right front window are all no longer working. I went to Lexus to check on recalls but nothing there. They say there are no problems, no recalls. Sounds like a safety issue to me. If I was ever in an accident I dont think the occupants could get out of the car. Ive owned a number of new cars over the last 40 years and have never owned, seen or heard of a car with so many window issues. Not good for Lexus or Toyota.
Disappointed! My 2010 Lexus RX350 died in CDA Idaho. No warning... Oil everywhere, not drivable. Had it towed to Toyota dealership in CDA. Diagnosed as blown oil hose (manufacturer defect). Would be covered if we paid to have it towed to Spokane Lexus, but not covered for the work to be done where it is. It is approx. $200 fix... No recall or letter sent regarding the defect! It would cost more to have it towed! If this is a known manufacturer defect how are we suppose to know?
This car brand is very sure to leave you pleased. From the amazing air condition to the heated seats, making it perfect for any kind of weather condition. It travels well and is very available in price range. However, only the most special people deserve this car. So go out and get it now! Also, the appearance is impeccable, seriously a real stunner and ranking number one on looks. Lexus should be known for just the fact that the car itself is one of the best. Some may not like the design. But it is actually the classiest and sexiest car there is. Although you will need a contract, Lexus is very open to upgrades and letting you the buyer choose the looks and features they want what they travel in to be. I love driving a Lexus, but being in passenger seat? Also a great choice. With all the cool features the driver get, passenger can sit back and relax, preferably with a heated bosom.
Overall, Lexus RX 450H 2013 is a great car. Ergonomics, not so much. Real lack of storage in front seat - not even a place to store sunglasses! But about seven places to put your water bottle. Awful design for convenience. Also, rear seats dont fold flat. Cmon, would it be that hard to do? Gas mileage is so-so, at around 24 high-test. A Santa Fe would do better.
I have this beautiful Lexus LS460 that looks great on the outside and always kept in the garage. However, when you open the door and see that the door panels and the dashboard have a gray looking film on them and are sticky to the touch it spoils the whole idea of LUXURY AND LEXUS being used in the same sentence. I called the 1 800 Lexus number and they told me there was a recall for this problem but it expired last year in 2017 and that they sent out recall notices. I have lived in the same house for 15 years (longer than I have had the CAR) and I have never received a recall notice on my vehicle. I am frustrated and looks like if I want to fix it that it is going to cost thousands of dollars to do so. I am very disappointed in Lexus! I thought they were a better company than that.
No customer service at all. I would like to express my disappointment about the recent experience I had at Lexus of Rockville on December 21, 2016. Initially, the Service Manager, Andy and Supervisor, Jose were courteous & respectful. They provided me with a loaner vehicle while waiting for my insurance rep to come and look at my car. This took about five days. The dealership completed a diagnostic on my car as well. After approximately a week and half I received a call from the service Supervisor (Jose) and he instructed me to return the loaner back, which I did, that same day. Upon returning the loaner, I was notified by the Service Manager (Andy) that he and his staff were instructed by Peter ** (GM) not to service my car. When I asked why, they could not provide me a reason, refused to provide service to my car, treated me with extreme disrespect and escorted me off the property like a criminal. I did nothing to merit this type of treatment.Throughout the incident I remained calm and courteous despite their mistreatment I received. My vehicle has been serviced at this location many times in the past without any issues. As an ** man, the interaction was humiliating beyond words and not worthy of the Lexus (YES WE CAN) brand. In this day and age where respect for individuals and cultures has become lost, I expected more from Lexus. This unsatisfactory Customer Service experience was further exacerbated by the lack of service I received after reporting the incident. When reaching out to your corporate office, I was assured by the front desk person at that time someone would get back to me on this matter and discuss the issue, I have yet to receive the simple courtesy of a call or email from Sonic Automotive. I hoped to hear from Sonic Automotive or Lexus Corporation soon to bring a resolution to this extremely disheartening situation.
I recently made a purchase of a 2008 RX350, from Meade Lexus of Lakeside. I decided to go with the Lexus, with the hopes of landing a depending vehicle from a company that cared about their customers well being and to make future purchases. Received the vehicle in Aug. and within 30 days needed a new battery, which is not the end of the world, although unexpected. This weekend however, I took my 11 year old son to Chicago for his birthday and the vehicle started smoking and stalled on me on the 94 E expressway. I had the vehicle towed to a repair shop only to be told that the vehicle that I purchased 7 months prior, needs a new engine!! I tried to contact the dealership as well as had the vehicle taken to another repair shop for a second opinion, after the second shop, gave me the same results. I can not believe that this dealership is selling unsafe vehicles to the public. I did all of my research prior to this purchase for this to happen to me. I too, cannot believe that I am making a complaint about a brand that I put so much trust into. My next step is to contact the attorney general office about this situation.
Lexus has plenty of varieties. You can choose a wide variety for whatever kind of car you like the most. There are options for just about any kind of person and whatever type of car anyone could want. There are many options as far as sizing. Any size of family can have options as far as capacity of passengers, from a very small number to one much larger. These cars come in any kind of color or design or feature you could want. There are many possible combination and customizable options that anyone can look at. This makes it easier to design a car to specifically fit what you are looking for.
Getting an oil change at Stevens Creek Lexus is a nightmare. They are so disrespectful in that they book 8-10 appointments every 20 minutes, so the service is the worst. I am writing this as I have been waiting over 90 minutes for my SCHEDULED oil change. Yes, I made an appointment and still waited and hour and a half (and still not done yet). They should take fewer appointments if it is going to take 90 minutes for each oil change.I also told them about my breaks constantly squeaking and they told me that the brakes in the Lexus IS squeak normally, but if I want to pay for an upgrade, they will not squeak. I asked if I needed new brakes. They said no, but I need to pay for the upgrade if I want them to stop squeaking. CRAZY!
I purchased a new 2015 RX450h from a Lexus Dealership in MO in mid-December. I had the opportunity last month to observe my vehicle with the headlamps on. To my surprise, the headlamp covers are badly distorted. I took my vehicle back to the dealership only to discover that all the Lexus on the showroom floor had the same problem. I contacted Lexus and received 2 emails and 1 phone call explaining that its the way they are made and they are not looking for a fix. This is a real problem and maybe even a safety issue as the vehicle ages. Im extremely disappointed in the quality of the headlamp covers and that Lexus does not care about the product they put on the market. If you have a 2015 or 2016, take a look at your headlamps when on!
My car had a sunroof, full-leather interior, a 6-cd disc changer, v6 engine, power windows and automatic locks. I also enjoyed the ability to adjust my sunroof as I pleased or use the tilt option for a slight breeze. I greatly appreciated the cd changer given that I traveled between cities a lot. It gave me comfort to know I truly would enjoy my time on road. I didnt have the chance to upgrade my car much due to financial limitations. However, Lexus did offer many different upgrade and personalization options. There were upgrades for the seating as far as different colors of leather, and initial embroidery that add a personal touch. Even though the car seemed small, it could really hold its weight in passengers and seat them comfortably. At one point, I had eight people in a 4-door Lexus--6 kids and 2 adults! I hauled off my whole apartment with just this one car! I liked the size because it wasnt too big or too small and it was very easy to handle and control the vehicle. Overall Lexus truly holds up to their brand by creating reliable, luxurious and efficient cars. As a college student, I constantly traveled between cities and in just five years I put on over 200,000 miles. Im thankful to have had my Lexus by my side while pursuing my future!
Do Not Buy a Lexus with Parchment Leather. Color in our ES 350 seat bolster was gone at 23K miles, picture should be attached. Yet color in our older RX 350 is still perfect at 73K miles. The ES 350 is under factory warranty. Contacted both the selling dealership and Corporate Customer Service, and they basically Take a hike. Been Lexus customers since 1993, but that has now ended.
Please review this article before considering the purchase of a Lexus as there are fees once a one year. Grace period expires for both the remote start feature and navigation. https://www.thedrive.com/news/18313/lexus-charges-a-subscription-fee-for-remote-start
I have significant concerns about my 2006 Lexus IS 350 that the company is refusing to remedy. I have written a letter in an appeal to Lexus to correct a dangerous engineering and design flaw. I have also spoken to the dealership (to no avail) and the department specialist of customer service at Lexus. He assured me that he has taken my concerns to the appropriate managers at Lexus headquarters (this essentially means that they arent willing to acknowledge or correct the issue). At first, I believed the problem was just an irritating inconvenience. The other night, I have discovered that it is a major safety hazard. I have a 2006 IS 350 whose computer touch screen navigation system has stopped working. This is obviously a major inconvenience as it is not just the navigation that doesnt work, it is also the air conditioning controls, the heating controls, the radio controls, the CD/MP3 player, the computer settings and the rear view camera! All of the radio presets were erased without any way to reset them. There is no way to adjust the fan settings for the a/c or heater, I can no longer adjust the base/treble/fade, the backup camera only works 10% of the time and of course, the navigation system is completely non-functional. As the car is only 5 years old and supposedly, a precision, luxury vehicle, one would not expect such major malfunctions affecting multiple systems. Unfortunately, for some reason, they designed all of these systems to be dependent on the navigation computer.I first contacted the company about this issue over the summer and did not receive a satisfactory remedy. I was essentially told that because so many of the computers were having problems, the company was offering to pay of the cost of the replacement part (but not the labor). Indeed, when I explored the issue on the internet, I found hundreds of posts about this problem and other navigation system issues! Given that the company was not willing to replace the defective screen, I would still have to pay over $1200 to $1500 to cover the cost of repair. Like many people, I do not have that amount of money to spend on an engineering mistake. In addition, I feel that it is wrong to ask the consumer to pay to fix something that is obviously flawed and not a result of owner misuse or wear and tear. Frankly, I had much higher expectations of Lexus and was dismayed and disappointed that the company was offering such a paltry remedy for such a major issue! This is an exasperating design flaw and definitely tainted my opinion of the quality of the Lexus product, warranty and customer service. However, I did not realize that this system failure was dangerous until the night of the 18th. Over the last week, the screen has started flashing as the system is trying to load. This is annoying and somewhat distracting in the daylight. However, when the screen flashed a very bright light that night as I was making a left turn at a busy intersection, I almost had an accident. Startled by the sudden light and thinking that the bright flash was the headlights of an oncoming car, I inadvertently swerved into oncoming traffic and narrowly missed being hit by two other cars.I implored Lexus to issue a safety recall for this problem and replace all of the touch screen systems that have malfunctioned before a tragic accident is caused. Although I realize the cost of replacing these systems is a significant consideration, it will be a small price to pay compared to the bad publicity, loss of consumer confidence, reduction of sales and not to mention, loss of human life that will occur if the issue is not rectified, and if the company does not react responsibly and proactively. Their response to my appeal was to offer the same remedy as last summer, 50% off of the component cost with no willingness to issue a recall or investigate the issue further.I have covered the screen with a piece of cardboard so that it cant happen to me again, but I worry about other people who may be unaware that this can happen. Especially since there were many reports online of Lexus owners who were having trouble with their navigation systems. I was very lucky to escape injury.
The dash started developing very fine hairline cracks about a year ago. Over the last month the cracks have gotten much worse. I have seen even picked up small foam pieces on the floor coming from the dash. It is a real shame since I otherwise like this car. I have informed LEXUS Customer Service via e-mail with pictures about this quality problem and they asked me to take the car to a dealer for evaluation. The dealers replacement estimate was $2519.00. I informed customer Service about the cost and was told that the car was out of warranty... They did not have to offer anything to get it fixed but will give me 25% off the repair. This would still cost me $1889.25, totally unacceptable. I have owned many cars brands in the past and none of them ever had a quality issue like this. When buying a very expensive car anyone expects top quality. I do not understand is why there is such a big cost difference between various dealers for the same repair (based on other posts). Recent history shows that Toyota is reluctant to stand behind their products and if there is a class action lawsuit, I would like to know how to join. Unless Toyota comes forward with a better offer this will be the last car I have bought from them.
This car offers at least 7 different models. They are very dependable & affordable. You get excellent gas mileage. The color & body shapes are awesome. Also, this car is beautiful in appearances. I like to pull up on my family and friends especially after I wash my car by hand so its nice & shiny. Plus the cars are very powerful and stylish. You can go for long drives and be very comfortable. They have lots of space inside the car and in the trunk. You can fit at least 8 people. You can also buy the SUV style if you are going on a long journey. I would recommend this car to everyone I know.
I had a Lexus ES300, drives awesome, good on gas. Handles with extreme precision on freeways at high speeds and gas is reasonable. Looks beautiful and classy. Unfortunately had an auto accident. Hit by a truck. Would you believe after that the truck needed roadside assistance flatbed to tow the truck. My Lexus started right up and drove away with minor dents. The car was built durable and reliable. I highly recommend Lexus to any who want excellence as also quality. Loved owning this vehicle. Wood grain is an option as well as extra modified stereo system high end quality, leather heated seats, extended warranties depends on how much youre willing to spend. Has a big part to do with all you want in a fancy luxury automobile. Also, I have had up to seven passengers at one time. I also had a speaker system in the trunk and back seat. So room is of no concern when speaking about the LEXUS ES300. Again a vehicle that is suitable for all dynamics of all types of encounters it may come across. Simply amazing and classy. Find yourself driving away in your new Lexus to understand how ones perspective will have you convinced as I have been. I see it as you only live once so what I can tell you if youre a hard worker and help other people then you most certainly deserve it. Put it like this, treat yourself dont cheat yourself.
