I had a worst case scenario of a safety recall: defective valves broke and I had total engine failure. Lexus did honor the repair, though I was under 100k mileage, I was over 3 yrs. They kept car 3 wks, replace one engine block and the valves. I paid for brakes, flushing system, and a new starter (car suddenly didnt start when I went to pick up car after 3 wks. Strange! Starter was another $1300. Car has 67,000 miles. This car is terrible... The brakes I can feel under foot and they sound like they need new brakes, not like they just had a brake job. The engine runs rough and loud. Makes some noises. The car also has a roar. The driver door even squeaks now and the whole car makes a noise and is rough. Its embarrassing! Has anyone had any problems? They had to take it apart and put it back together... Im thinking they didnt do a good job. Its not the same car. Any help or advise? I dont even know what to tell them.

Earlier this year I noticed that my dashboard was sticky to the touch (melting) and the control buttons on my steering wheel were peeling off. After a quick Google search I found a recall on the 2007-2008 Lexus 350 dash and thousands experiencing the issue with peeling controls. When I brought my car in, the dealer said the dashboard recall had just expired and Id need to get approval to fix it along with the peeling controls. Lexus corporate REFUSED to fix their known manufacture errors. Funny, I was planning on buying another Lexus, but Ill spend my hard earned $ with a brand who truly values customers and fixes issues when they are at fault. Lexus claim to quality is bogus!

I have a Lexus GS460 2011 and been using for more than three years now, and recently my ABS broke down. We bought new one for 4,000 dollars. After replacing it, unfortunately, the same problem occur. That means I have to buy again new one for another 4,000 dollars. Company should make it cheaper because the cause of the problem is from the manufacturer side. I am thinking of buying another car before the incident happened but now I have doubts and confusion to buy or not because Im scared to take risk the same issues might occur.

Very easy and enjoyable experience. Lexus is a brand name that you can trust. They always have the newest safety features and all models that youve seen on TV or while driving your previous vehicle. And the cars are durable! These cars are beautiful. The bodies are sleek, yet built to stand any kind of unexpected damage. These vehicles always seat as comfortably as you would assume. If you have children, rest assured they will be safe and have enough room to stretch out in the back seat area. You can also count on this company to offer as many upgrades as they have readily available. If not, theyll add them to the model of your choice. Theyre the newest and most needed upgrades.

I have 110K miles and knew my vehicle was out of warranty. I thought since Lexus had acknowledge of the faulty dash would replace them since they are aware everyone is having the same problem. Lexus Rx350 has defective material in its interior. The dash on our 2008 RX350 has began to crack in numerous places. In other places dash is melting and is sticky to the touch. Took car to Lexus dealership for inspection. Service assistant said that this was a common problem with Lexus. The materials do not stand up to the environment. Lexus refuses to call a recall. They want close to $2,500 to replace it. This car is a big disappointment. This is our second and last Lexus.

Called in yesterday to a Brisbane Lexus dealer to get a value on my 2017 Lexus ES350. The vehicle is 27 months old, in pristine condition, has just had its 2 year service and has under 18,000 klms on the clock. I was offered in the low $30k should I want to sell it. WOW! How can a vehicle be devalued by over 50% in just over 2 years? No wonder buyers are looking more to buying demo or second-hand vehicles. Maybe it would make good financial sense to check the resale value of BMW, Audi or Mercedes before looking at a Lexus. I am still in a state of shock!

Different varieties of models and features that are actually nice and I would recommended that. Each model is unique in its own, but I prefer Lexus Los cause it offers hybrid and gasoline vehicles and they give you the ability to choose which one that you want. Lexus has many upgrades and personalization options that can be added onto the vehicle and that isnt added to the final bill of sale, which is excellent to me and I actually love that about them. Lexus is such a luxury vehicle and so affordable that anyone can afford them.

In March 2016 I had a blowout on my way to Florida with my 2010 Lexus. A near tragedy since I had to pull off onto a very narrow shoulder of the road with semis passing at 70 miles per hours. Two months later my tire dealer told me two my tires Bridgestone Turanza with less than 20,000 were in need of replacement. When I purchased this certified pre-owned Lexus from Lexus of Englewood NJ, I was informed that all 5 tires were new. In 35 years I have not had tires that have worn out in less than 35-40,000 miles. As a result I contacted the manager of pre-owned sales at Lexus of Englewood and told him I did not believe the tires had been replaced at the time of my purchase of the vehicle. He promised to look into the matter and get back to me. That was in May 2016. I have heard nothing. I next wrote to Lexus Customer Service with the same complaint in June 2016 but have heard nothing from them. Finally, I wrote to Jeff Bracken, Group Vice President and General Manager of the Lexus Division, with the same complaint and requested the courtesy of a reply. That was in late June and I have received no response.

My car was dead in the driveway. I called Lexus Roadside 800 448-1505 and asked them to send a repair truck WITH a new battery. A AAA tow truck arrived. He said he could not sell me a battery; he can only tow or jump the old battery. I want to make this very clear, I was very willing to pay for the new battery. And although he had a battery on the truck he could not sell it to me. After speaking with corporate, Lexus admits that the contract specifically states that service is tow or jump only.

Bought a RX350 (2008) Certified Preowned Lexus in 2009 from PARK PLACE LEXUS OF PLANO, TX. In 2013, I noticed a crack in the dashboard by the driver’s side vent. Called PARK PLACE LEXUS OF PLANO, TX and was told cracks in the dashboard are not under warranty and it may have been caused by what I was using to clean the dashboard. After arguing with the service guy he went to the service manager and they agreed to repair it and they did.Now in 2018, I have two cracks in the dashboard by the passenger air vent. Researched on the internet to see if other Lexus owners had similar issues. To my surprise many owners have this issue and Lexus had offered to replace the entire dashboard if you have cracks or melting of the dashboard. The dealership told me I needed to call corporate to obtain approval for the dashboard replacement. I called corporate office and they did not show the cracked dashboard had been previously repaired and the offer to replace the defective dashboard had expired in October 2017. I asked if they could repair just the cracks like last time and was told that decision is up to the dealership.I called PARK PLACE LEXUS OF PLANO, TX to see if I could still get the dashboard replaced or repaired. Their system showed the crack in the dashboard was repaired in October 2009. The dealership did not correspond to corporate of my previous repair which I have documentation and receipt. After speaking to the service representative and service manager they will not replace the dashboard since it is up to corporate to approve and will not repair the cracks because one of the cracks is in front of the airbag.Bottom line to replace the defective dashboard I will have to pay approximately ~$2,000. I bought a Lexus based on the reputation of a quality vehicle. Had I known it was so cheap that the dashboard would need to be totally replaced in less than 10 years my decision would have been different. I understand vehicle parts wear out and need to be replaced but not a dashboard. This car is always garaged at home and at work and only has 76k miles. A dashboard should not have cracks on a vehicle this soon and definitely not on any quality luxury car. Based on this experience I would strongly recommend others to stay away of a LEXUS and PARK PLACE LEXUS OF PLANO.

We have owned three Lexus products over the years they have been in the US. The cars are great but the corporate culture has deteriorated greatly. The present CEO and the person in charge of Customer service are not at all qualified for their jobs and they have given Lexus a bad name for customer service. The corporate offices have literally no control over the dealers if there are issues, selling cars is all that matters, not customer service. If you have an issue that the dealer refuses to take care of, the infrastructure Lexus created at corporate is so pathetic you will only be frustrated trying to get any closure.

I am the owner of two Lexus vehicles. I am investing my time to inform you of my feelings towards Lexus; as the respect, integrity and trust, which I have so highly esteemed about Lexus, has been compromised. This time the 2007 Lexus ES 350 with just 34,000 miles encountered a problem with the passenger window as it would no longer function properly. What I learned is that the window mechanism is so cheaply made that the plastic parts just broke apart. This design flaw resulted in a five hundred dollar plus repair bill that stole hard-earned dollars from other priorities my family has at this time. When I needed to truly rely upon Lexus reliability during challenging economic times, you let me and my family down. What is concerning is the fact the other three windows will certainly face the same catastrophic failure. (And surprisingly, considering the fact that the windows are hardly ever used as the Florida heat makes the AC priority one). The bottom line is this: Why would I ever buy another Lexus product when price and value are so far apart? Please let me know how you may be able to help given the aforementioned situation that my family and I currently find ourselves in.Lexus Service Specialists phone reply: As you did not visit our service department and took your car to a private repair facility, you voided your warranty. My car was well out of warranty, but they said that the CPO (certified pre-owned) Warranty would have covered this had I gone to the dealer. Well actually, the CPO would not cover a window repair; but the Service Specialists... they would have helped if I would have asked. Wow, with my other Lexus which had several service issues, the dealership was very specific that the warranty did not cover my problem and all costs would be borne by me. It is so sad to be witnessing the demise of the famed Lexus brand name. My friends and neighbors, who also own Lexus products, have also commented never again when asked if they would purchase another Lexus, as their own experiences have been much worse than mine… so sad.

I own a 2007 Lexus RX350 that was purchased in 2008. It has been a very reliable car with few mechanical issues over the last 11 years. In the last year, my dashboard began to crack and now is split in several places. I contacted my Lexus dealer who negated to even inform me there was a national recall on the dash itself. I had taken my vehicle in for routine service during that recall envelope and not one thing was mentioned! Park Place Lexus/DFW area practically blew off my concerns off and told me to call the Lexus 800 number. I was subsequently told the recall period had expired and their attitude stemmed around them informing me it was MY responsibility to check for recalls. What??? Now my paint is fading/peeling even though my car is perpetually garaged and I work overseas 18 days/month. It only has 67k miles! I really loved my Lexus but my experience with my dealer and Lexus HQ has all but convinced me its time to go with another brand. Lexus... youve lost my business!!! Buyers... Consider yourself warned!

Lexus has a wide variety of models. I picked the IS 250 mainly because it is one of the more affordable models. However the es350 is super crazy ridiculous nice. I do recommend this vehicle because the features are very nice and very high-quality. The passenger seats five, the backseat is extremely small in the 250 and that sucks because thats what I got. I have significant concerns about my 2006 Lexus IS 350 that the company is refusing to remedy. I have written a letter in an appeal to Lexus to correct a dangerous engineering and design flaw. I have also spoken to the dealership (to no avail) and the department specialist of customer service at Lexus. He assured me that he has taken my concerns to the appropriate managers at Lexus headquarters (this essentially means that they arent willing to acknowledge or correct the issue). At first, I believed the problem was just an irritating inconvenience. The other night, I have discovered that it is a major safety hazard. I have a 2006 IS 350 whose computer touch screen navigation system has stopped working. This is obviously a major inconvenience as it is not just the navigation that doesnt work, it is also the air conditioning controls, the heating controls, the radio controls, the CD/MP3 player, the computer settings and the rear view camera! All of the radio presets were erased without any way to reset them. There is no way to adjust the fan settings for the a/c or heater, I can no longer adjust the base/treble/fade, the backup camera only works 10% of the time and of course, the navigation system is completely non-functional. As the car is only 5 years old and supposedly, a precision, luxury vehicle, one would not expect such major malfunctions affecting multiple systems. Unfortunately, for some reason, they designed all of these systems to be dependent on the navigation computer.I first contacted the company about this issue over the summer and did not receive a satisfactory remedy. I was essentially told that because so many of the computers were having problems, the company was offering to pay of the cost of the replacement part (but not the labor). Indeed, when I explored the issue on the internet, I found hundreds of posts about this problem and other navigation system issues! Given that the company was not willing to replace the defective screen, I would still have to pay over $1200 to $1500 to cover the cost of repair. Like many people, I do not have that amount of money to spend on an engineering mistake. In addition, I feel that it is wrong to ask the consumer to pay to fix something that is obviously flawed and not a result of owner misuse or wear and tear. Frankly, I had much higher expectations of Lexus and was dismayed and disappointed that the company was offering such a paltry remedy for such a major issue! This is an exasperating design flaw and definitely tainted my opinion of the quality of the Lexus product, warranty and customer service. However, I did not realize that this system failure was dangerous until the night of the 18th. Over the last week, the screen has started flashing as the system is trying to load. This is annoying and somewhat distracting in the daylight. However, when the screen flashed a very bright light that night as I was making a left turn at a busy intersection, I almost had an accident. Startled by the sudden light and thinking that the bright flash was the headlights of an oncoming car, I inadvertently swerved into oncoming traffic and narrowly missed being hit by two other cars.I implored Lexus to issue a safety recall for this problem and replace all of the touch screen systems that have malfunctioned before a tragic accident is caused. Although I realize the cost of replacing these systems is a significant consideration, it will be a small price to pay compared to the bad publicity, loss of consumer confidence, reduction of sales and not to mention, loss of human life that will occur if the issue is not rectified, and if the company does not react responsibly and proactively. Their response to my appeal was to offer the same remedy as last summer, 50% off of the component cost with no willingness to issue a recall or investigate the issue further.I have covered the screen with a piece of cardboard so that it cant happen to me again, but I worry about other people who may be unaware that this can happen. Especially since there were many reports online of Lexus owners who were having trouble with their navigation systems. I was very lucky to escape injury.

Had to replace my windshield for the 2017 RX350. It has been two weeks today. Giving various reasons for the delay and informed that it will be another 6 days, since the windshield is on back order. First of all, this is my first ever negative review for any company. Unfortunately, based-on what has just happened to us, I felt an obligation to at least warn others. Lexus doesn’t stand by their brand, and ultimately won’t take care of loyal customers even when your car is still somewhat in warranty. We’ve owned two other Lexuses over the past 15 years and have proclaimed we would only buy Lexus going forward for life. Our 2014 RX350 (purchased in 2015 at 28k miles) had a 100k mile warranty or Sept. 2020 expiration. We are just under 130,000 miles on the vehicle and our engine is completely gone (just 6-year old car).We spent over $300 for the diagnostic test alone at the dealership at the request of the manufacturer to validate the assessment of a trusted third party repair shop who told us that the engine was shot and would need to be replaced costing $10K. The Lexus dealership provided an estimate over $6K to fix an engine with the disclaimer that more parts may be needed after tearing it down (assuming the cost is going to be much more). This is not even a new engine replacement. All regular maintenance has been done faithfully at an independent and reputable auto service business.Lexus manufacturer has completely refused to help in any way even though a representative at the dealership says they never see this happen in these models. Our car is unfortunately not worth more than $13,000 and the cost of repairs simply don’t make sense. Lexus doesn’t stand behind its product and have definitely tarnished it’s reputation as a brand. We would have probably spent at least $300k more in our lifetime on Lexus vehicles and passed down the current vehicle to our daughter because of their perceived reliability and quality. This is not the case!!!!They washed it all away for simply not replacing our engine this once or even helping in some way (they didn’t even reimburse us for the diagnostic test they requested to consider the issue). Lexus should be ashamed, and I hope this review helps someone else avoid this situation in the future. Lexus, don’t brag about your product reliability, customer service, and commitment to customers satisfaction. Going forward we will chose to do business with a company with more integrity and honesty.

My local Lexus of Kendall (FL) dealer nor Lexus corporate have resolved a problem with my 2013 ES 300h after many attempts. Lexus of Kendall dealer said if I maintain my car with them they will fight for me should there be any problem with the manufacturer in the future, so I did. Well, I reported a defect in the backseat leather shortly after my 25k maintenance appointment November 2016 while my car was under warranty. The backseat perforated leather dried and shrunk causing tension on the rest of the seat. It feels very rough and hard to the touch. The manager at the dealer took photographs, and said he will contact the manufacturer. After several months of leaving messages with Lexus of Kendall operator and voicemails I was told the manager no longer works there, and another manager (Bernardo) took over his work. I came in person to meet with new manager March 2017, by which point the problem area became larger, and same problem started to happen on the other side. He took more photos, said its not a Lexus defect because on one side it is perfect circle. I contacted corporate, submitted photos, and they asked Bernardo to weigh in. He said I caused the damage but could not explain how, and if there was a defect in the leather he would not be able to tell unless the leather was taken off and he can examine the back side of it. Corporate said I will need an expert in leather to run tests and determine the cause. I have never heard of such a response for warranty coverage. They denied to fix my car while under the warranty. I contacted the 3rd party dispute resolution address, provided by Lexus, several times with no reply.I purchased the car used with 6k miles in 2013 in perfect condition. Since then I rarely used or had passengers in the backseat. When I did have passengers the trips were short, just a few blocks in the city, and my passengers are slim. My car is stored under a carport, in a garage when I am at work, and my windows are tinted so the inside temperature does not get hot often. I have had others cars such as Audi, BMW, Chrysler, Honda over 100k miles and much older that did not have such quality issues even with daily use. My Lexus has premium leather with Luxury package, it should withstand at minimum light use. The problem from initial report to current has grown in size, and continues to grow. Terrible dealer customer service and misinformation, terrible experience with corporate. First and last Lexus. Photos from March 2017 and Feb 2019 are attached.

I have been driving Lexus RX series since 2004 and Germain Lexus of Dublin Ohio is my dealer that I dealt with all those years. Just recently, I returned my leased 2017 RX350 and purchased 2020 RX350L. The deal was to forgive me for all remaining payments on my lease and to forgive me for the excessive mileage. Everything was verbally and was not in writing. Once I got my new 2020 RX350L, few weeks later I received an invoice from Lexus Financial Services to pay for excessive mileage. I called Lexus Financial Services and said the deal was to forgive me, they said, You have to contact Germain dealership and remind them to pay us the bill, I did and the sales manager I dealt with said that the deal was I have to pay for excessive mileage. I am 100% positive that he is not correct but unfortunately, there is nothing in writing to proof my case. I wrote a complaint on Germain’s website but no one contacted me, I also left a voicemail for the General Manager but he didnt return my call.My advice is to get every promise in writing before you sign anything.

Getting close to 50 years old, I decided to purchase a reliable, safe, easy to service car that will last until I can no longer drive. Bought a 2004 Lexus ES 330 with only 18K miles, certified pre-owned. Online reviews were glowing, mechanics said, Youll be bored, but just have oil changes up to 100K miles. Hah! At 20K miles, the dealer insisted that I needed new brakes ($1500?) before they score the rotors. Having owned MBZ, Jaguars, Alfa Romeos, and other temperamental exotics over the years, I am familiar with cars and when things should fail. I took the Lexus to an independent mechanic, and found the brakes were almost new, good for another 20K miles, at least (did brakes at 50K for a reasonable price). Scratch dealer servicing forever. The Lexus was always a compromise... noisy, rough ride compared to the Jags and MBZ, but I figured reliability and no drama was worth it. At 65K miles, struts started leaking... $1,000 ($3000 at dealer). I let them leak. Now, 70K miles, right after an oil change using synth-blend, not full synthetic oil, the valve cover gasket started leaking. Repair is $1,300, which includes timing belt, water pump, pulleys, etc... Cheap, compared to dealer, but still 25K miles too soon. Minor problems, but it seems that prices for simple maintenance on these Toyota/Lexus cars has grown to be as expensive and frequent as the exotics used to be. Might as well lease a BMW or Alfa with full service plan included, and flip it every 3 years. That, or an old classic that increases in value as it gobbles up your wallet in repairs. Like they used to advertise, You asked for it, you got it, Toyota. I sure as ** did! Nothing special about Lexus. Anyone want to buy a well maintained 70K mile ES330 needing 90K mile service and struts?

The black part of the inner door panels acts like it is sweating something and gets hazy and wet looking. When my nail hits it, it leaves a deep mark. Unbelievably bad issue with an otherwise good car. I would appreciate any help or constructive comments how this can be replace. Lexus have a long waiting list. Today I brought it to Lexus New Orleans because I received a standard recall letter informing me my console is covered. They took a few pictures and informed me the parts would be in in 2 to 3 YEARS! I find that Insulting. First they give you the good news and make you drive in to get the bad news! I used the Ferrara Law Group in Miami. They won their Class Action Suit against Toyota/Lexus 3 years ago and had to bring Toyota/Lexus back to court because they were stalling/stonewalling their customers after they had already lost the case! I have informed the attorney and if more people call them they may file a new suit against Toyota/Lexus...2 - 3 Years is stonewalling!

This year is no different. I have called customer service and been to the dealership and still isnt working. I have spent literally hours trying to get this resolved and was just told again that I would have to call again on Tuesday. I am so fed up. I wish I could give back my car and start over. When I got it, it was shiny and looked as new as any car Ive ever seen. On the inside I had no problems as it was clean and well kept. My husband says there werent many options for customization or upgrades. He also said that we wouldnt need it anyways because the car is perfect as it is. I only needed 3 seats but there is more room than that so we can put other things in the seats when we arent using them and if we do need the extra seating for whatever reason, we can put the other stuff in the trunk.

I purchased new my 2008 IS 250, it now has 48,895 miles including an extended four year warranty that is about to expire. I noticed chunks of the dash and door panels literally start falling out, as well as the material turn to a melty, gooey mess. I reported this each and every time I was at the dealership, who graciously agreed to send the car in for detailing (at their expense) - then later tried to tell me that the car was out of warranty, and that this problem was caused by chemicals I used when I washed my car! It wasnt until I became enraged that they sent my issue on to Lexus-in-the-sky, who came back with what they called a fair, good will gesture..... They would pay for half of the replacement, to the tune of $2800.00, since the damage was not considered a material defect. I have two other cars, neither of which are LUXURY cars, both older, one with +125k miles, and the interior looks like the day the car was purchased. I live in Florida, and granted it is hot - but similarly, other makes, models and brands of cars are not plagued by this problematic inferior, interior dash/door panel material.Lexus is branded as a luxury line of cars, and when I purchased this car, I paid for the REPUTATION that comes with the LEXUS brand - including vehicle design, performance, workmanship, and customer service. What I have gotten is five recalls, one including a new rebuilt engine, one for gas pedal issues, air conditioning problems, and now this continual runaround about a problem that is, continues to be recognized as a wide-spread concern.LEXUS needs to bone up and admit there is a problem and its more wide spread than they let on. They also need to stop calling me about their stupid sign-and-drive promotions. I will not invest a dime into any Lexus vehicle until they make this right.... Or not!

Now recently someone steal my Rx350 2016 from My driveway and I reported to police and they recover too on same day. But all key system and other things are damage. What should I do in this case? Should I take this vehicle back, which I am not comfortable to take this vehicle? And Constable told me that Lexus dont have vehicle tracing device in uptown 2019 Rx350. But Why Rx350 is easy for thief to steal that car. Why Lexus dont have proper lock system. This is not acceptable and I will not suggest to buy Lexus anymore. I think we should look for another Brand.

I noticed the Map Quest remained on the touch screen at all times where before it did not. The week of the 10 of March, the Touch Screen stopped working. I returned the car to the dealership on March 20 and received a call that it would take $3,100 to repair the touch screen. Also it was going to take 2 days to get the screen in to replace the old one. I have also contacted Lexus Headquarters in CA to see what they can do. I purchased this car New from Lexus In VA (what a Nightmare of a dealership); therefore, I begin going to one in Maryland which I was hoped would not be just after money/buy a new car. He was totally accommodating to my weekend requests for appointments and was a man who listened and remembered my requests. He could do a dissertation on Lexus history which I found fascinating plus there is no match for his wonderful sense of humor. In addition, it’s not over with the signing of the contract. Charlie has said that I can call him anytime I have a question about the car! This has been validated and is such a great pleasure to have this option. In addition to Charlie, there is an excellent Service Dept with Tanya and co-workers. And, there is Ryan M., A certified Lexus Technology Specialist to navigate buyers thru the technology maze and Crystal, Business Manager to help clients thru the paper maze!! I have a 2007 Lexus IS 350, purchased it from a local dealer in May 2010, with 43567 miles on it and still under factory warranty and bought an extended 4-year warranty from local dealer. In the end of April 2011, with about 57800 miles, I did an oil change (4th one) with an STP, after market filter from Auto Zone.In May 2011, I received a letter about the recall problems, and weeks later, I brought the car to the local Lexus dealer (Inskip of Warwick) and they replaced the valve springs, fuel pressure pump and gas pedal. About 2 weeks later, my motor was making this ticking noise from my engine. I drove the car for about 50 miles and the noise went away. In October 2011, 5000 miles later, the noise came back but louder and I called them back and brought the car back in to be checked. The next day, I received a call that the engine was knocking and spun a bearing and its not covered through them or Lexus, because they did an oil change and they stated whoever did the oil change last, put the wrong oil filter (Auto Zone only makes one filter for this model) in it causing the engine problem.I have done about two dozen of oil changes in my life and never had this problem. I called the Lexus main headquarters in CA and 3 weeks later, they told me that it was my fault and they were not paying for anything. I requested to see the oil filter that was in my car when they did this oil change and was given a different kind of filter that was dirty and very old-looking. I told them this is not the filter that I put in because it was a different color (white) and was bigger, mine was yellow and smaller. They did not want to hear it. So now I have to pay my mechanic to tear down the engine to see if I need a new one.

I purchased my 2012 Lexus in 2013 with a little over 6,000 miles. I paid extra for the additional warranty and the Auto Butler which is supposed to protect your car from scratches, etc. This is a car that retails over $50,000.00. I took it to Freeman Lexus and they admitted that other customers have the same complaint but its not covered under the warranty and Corporate would have to cover it. I contacted Corporate and they said they wouldnt do anything about it.This car is too new to have this issue and is a factory defect or inferior product of leather if you ask me. I do NOT recommend anyone purchasing a Lexus especially if you expect to have a luxury car and put out 50k+. I owned a 2006 Lexus and never had problems. Apparently, Lexus pricing has increased substantially and their quality has declined along with their service. Shame on Lexus for using poor products and costing consumers.

A little over a year ago we purchased a 1995 Lexus RX330. We purchased the vehicle as our first luxury vehicle with the hopes that the money would be well spent on luxury and quality of the vehicle. But after having the vehicle for almost 1 year we noticed that the dash started cracking along the front edge and then after picking my wife up from work one day a large chunk of the dash right above the radio broke off and fell to the floor. We immediately called Lexus and asked about having the dash repaired they informed us that there was a recall on the dash and to call Lexus about having the dash repaired. We called Lexus and notified them of the cracked Dash and they informed us that there is indeed a recall for the cracked Dash but they told us the date for the recall expired the day before we called. But that they would look into it and see if there was something they could do.We took the time to take the vehicle to the local Lexus dealer to have pictures taken. Have it inspected and sent to Lexus so that they can review it only for them to call us and tell us they were denying the repairs on the vehicle. So now we are stuck with a vehicle in which the resale value has plummeted due to the crack Dash. Im very disappointed with Lexus that they do not stand behind their vehicle or even offered to pay a portion of the dash to be repaired. If this is how Lexus treats their customers I no longer want this vehicle and will be trading it in as soon as possible. My wife and I were also considering buying another new Lexus because we did like the vehicle until we see that Lexus does not stand behind their vehicle quality at all!!!

Ive read many of the reviews here and so sorry to hear of so many horror stories when dealing with Lexus. My wife and I own two, both 2015s: A GS350 and an RX350. The ironic part.... we bought them from a terrific local Carmax, not the local Lexus dealer. Both extremely low miles and in pristine condition; both bought in 2018. We LOVE the cars. Now.... the Lexus dealer here in Raleigh, NC is Johnson Lexus and, even though we didnt purchase the vehicles from them, they have been nothing short of fantastic in their dealings with us. They literally bend over backward to make their customers happy; prompt, fair, efficient, and GOOD service on our vehicles. Friendly, helpful staff. Do things for free very often. Just aces. So the moral of the story, IMHO, is it really comes down to the quality of the dealership you have in your area. If youre lucky enough to get a dealer like we have in Raleigh at Johnson Lexus.... youre good to go. If not? Potential nightmares. Guess the warning to potential Lexus buyers is this: Spend a LOT of time researching both the car AND the dealership before you act.

I have 66,000 on my 2008 Lexus GS 350. I have really only had one problem with my car, and that being the rear calipers froze. I have a certified pre-owned warranty that would cover this problem had I not taken my car to a personal mechanic for brake pads. He is the one who realized the calipers froze. It was towed to Lexus and it took me 3 weeks of fighting and speaking with the owner of the Lexus dealership to get it covered. Now 6 months later the headlight went out, When I looked and noticed there was condensation in the housing of the light. Again I still have a bumper to bumper warranty but again, this is not covered. The seal is broke and they state this is normal wear and tear. $1791.00 to replace, ARE YOU KIDDING ME. WHAT does the certified pre-owned warranty cover because at this point I have had two issues and neither of them are covered under this warranty. So with that said, and the fact that it took me 1 year and 2 months to get mats for my vehicle that were promised as part of the purchase deal from my salesman, and then they were not LEXUS mats. They were WALMART cheap mats... I AM ALL SET WITH BUYING ANOTHER LEXUS. SO NOT WHAT THEY PORTRAY THEMSELVES TO BE...

I had an oil leak under my 2003 Lexus GX 470. I was told it was from the transfer case and electronic actuator. The cost to repair would be $2,000 because it required 20 hours of labor to replace a seal. I told them to forget it. I went on the Internet and found similar problems other owners were having--same type of $2,000 charge.I found one person who said that he did the repair himself, described the procedure and took pictures. It was a simple O-ring replacement in the electronic actuator. I crawled under my car, took my own pictures and compared them to his pictures. The leak looked similar. I took the instructions and pictures to a local repair shop, not Lexus.I went over the information with the owner and he said it looks pretty simple. He put my car on a lift, raised it, removed 3 bolts and slid off the actuator. The O-ring was bad. Lexus did not have an O-ring in stock but Toyota did, which was the same part number. The O-ring was $5.00. Lexus was probably charging $20.00. He replaced the O-ring and reinstalled the actuator in less than one hour. This $2,000, 20-hour labor job took one hour and cost me just $85.85. Now, that makes me feel good but very angry at the same time, knowing how I could have been ripped off. I just want to let the public know that you should do some investigation on the Internet before making a high dollar commitment. You might find an answer that will save you thousands of dollars.

The IS 250 is a great ride that drives well making even those who dont love driving enjoy it. I love the way this car corners. We test drove the gs and es models as well, but they really felt too sedan for me. The SUV model rs was a disappointment altogether. The SUV has a nice passenger capacity. We however were looking for a sportier vehicle that still had room for a family of four. The IS model has just that. However, our two teens dont feel there is enough legroom in the back for them. But Im in love with my car. The smallest interior details really set this luxury line apart from others. The wood used is gorgeous and held up well. These details really add to the cars comfort. I also like the upgrade rims. They are stunning and add just the right amount of bling and luxe to the car. Other upgrades include navigation which we passed on.

I am the owner of my third Lexus ES 350. I anticipated buying my fourth in the next couple of years. I have purchased a Lexus almost exclusively because of its reputation for quality. As I am often in my car alone, the idea of having a car that will not leave me stranded by the side of the road is paramount. I noticed initially, however, with my most recent car purchased new, the 2014 model, that it was not as quiet as my first Lexus.I let that past not attributing it to a decline in overall quality. However, I was wholly unprepared for the wholesale failure without warning of my transmission after only 74,000 miles leaving me stranded on the side of the road. I was lucky to make it to a surface street as the failure occurred on the highway. This was a car, as was the case with each of my prior purchases, that had each and every service recommended, all done by a Lexus dealer. However, I could have saved myself a tremendous amount of money, both in terms of initial outlay and maintenance cost, with a much cheaper car and received the same result. This is my LAST Lexus and last Toyota made car.

I was looking for a nice sedan, and all the options available really blew me away. Very glad that I had decided to go with Acura over other options that were out there. A major selling point for me was the quality and sturdiness of the power windows. I was looking for something that will last me and not cost an arm and a leg when they break down so frequently. Ive had motors for windows go bad in several of my previous cars, so it was a must to find a brand with quality power windows. The windows work really well. The car is mainly for myself so I could really care less about the space, but if I do ever have passengers, Im pretty certain they will be very comfortable and that is awesome. I believe I will be staying with Acura the next time I am shopping for a vehicle.

Lexus has denied warranty coverage on our car without any reasonable explan
Lexus has denied warranty coverage on our car without any reasonable explanation, and ignored our request to provide reasonable explanations. In November 2013, we purchased a certified pre-owned Lexus that came with a 3-year warranty. At the time of purchase, the front bumper was slightly misaligned, with a small gap between the main body and the bumper on the driver side. Over time, the front bumper kept getting loose, making the gap very wide. Also, a gap started appearing on the driver side of the rear bumper. After ignoring several e-mails and phone calls of ours, Lexus requested us to have the car inspected by the service manager of the dealership where we purchased the car. At the time of inspection (August 13), the service manager looked puzzled and said that he would send the pictures and the description of needed repairs to Lexus. On August 19, the service manager informed us by phone that Lexus denied the warranty coverage because the problems were determined to be due to external causes. This argument, however, has no foundation because there is no trace of an impact on either bumper. On the same day, we sent the case manager at Lexus an e-mail requesting her to answer the following three questions in writing: (1) There is no trace of an impact. (I dont think the service manager found any trace of an impact. Let me know if he said otherwise.) What kind of external cause would make the bumper seriously misaligned without leaving a dent or scratch? (2) I understand that nobody can rule out the possibility of a minor contact on the bumper, such as a contact by another car at a speed of 2 MPH while the vehicle is parked. However, bumpers are supposed to withstand moderate impacts, not to mention minor impacts. If the bumper got seriously misaligned by a minor impact leaving no dent or scratch, shouldnt the manufacturer be responsible for it? (3) How can you rule out the possibilities of defective factory assembly or defective repair/replacement by the previous owner?By phone, the case manager told us that she could only send us a generic denial letter. The letter sent through e-mail simply says, it has been determined that the repair needed to the bumper is due to an outside influence. If they were allowed to deny warranty coverage without any reasonable explanation, they would not have to honor any warranty coverage. We are pursuing this matter through various channels, and we will update this as we get results.

Lexus RX330 2004 with less than 100,000 miles has only been serviced at Lexus dealership. It appears to be a common problem and Lexus is well aware that the sunroof drain holes can get clogged. It caused the soaking of the cars carpet which needed to be replaced. It is a thousand of dollars repair. Lexus told us to turn it into our insurance company. It is not part of their maintenance schedule and they know it is a problem.

There was a recall on my Lexus SUV. I was in the hospital when it came out and missed it. Shortly after expiration date I called Lexus and they told me to bring car to the dealer. The dealer found the problem and was happy to fix it. When they reached out for approval at corporate the dealer was told that Lexus would not approve. I wrote the CEO of Lexus USA explaining the problem and challenge due to medical issues. The CEO nor anyone ever had the courtesy to respond to my letter. The problem with the Lexus is only getting worse. This is not a company that cares about the customer.

This is not a CHEAP VEHICLE and one that you would expect this from. I am driving around with grey headliner exposed in 2 big areas of the roof and top of windshield- what an advertisement for Lexus to show everyone how bad Lexus Vehicle paint jobs are. I have been a Lexus owner for over 20 years. I have purchased x4 Lexus vehicles. One sedan and x3 GX460. I started hearing rumors that the service was not that great anymore and that calling the corporate office was a waste of time. I can attest that all of the above is true. My radiator burst while driving. This caused my engine to overheat and blow the head gasket. I did not know the engine had a problem because my emission system had the engine light on.I had an appointment to fix the recalled emissions on 10.13.19. My engine blew on 10.6.19. The engine was supposed to shut down when overheated. It did not. I did not know because the engine light was on from the emission system recall. I called Corporate for assistance. $10,000 repair minimum. They were COLD AND IMPERSONAL. Basically they told me it was my problem. They dont stand behind their brand anymore and I cant be loyal to a brand that is not loyal to me. NO MORE LEXUS FOR ME.

I am having serious quality issues with my 2005 RX330 SUV. Some of the key problems include the following: 1. The water pump failed at only 65K miles and timing belt and water pump were replaced ($1100+). I drove an Acura for 110K miles without changing either! 2. The headlights cases have been leaking, poor design. 3. Paints are coming out of the door handles. 4. Fused light bulbs and discolored mirrors.5. Low quality rotors and break pads (replacement cost $1000+).I called Lexus HQ, but they will not help or take any responsibility for the engine (water pump issue). They asked me to go to the dealership. So the business model is, Lexus sells you a lemon for a high price and for 5-10 years, you keep going to their dealership and pay to replace low quality parts and labor. So, if you are planning to buy a Lexus next time, think again as I wont do this again!

Lexus IS 350 model 2014 - I had an accident on the highway where the right side back tire was punctured and the car has rolled over 5 times. The car was rated as total damage after this accident. The strange thing that Air bag system has not activated as if there was no air bag system in the car. I think this is a major failure in the safety system in this expensive car that has to be known to everyone. For your info this car has run only 15000 kilometers. Since the cover was on I never lifted it up to clean. Lexus said it would cost $3000.00 to replace. The Lexus has only 60K miles. Very disappointed with Lexus/Toyota. I have contacted the Lexus service and and went to the service departments in person. They all didnt accept the car. I dont get it. I had the car checked before I shipped it from the States and I did make a complaint about the engine shaking to the service department when I was in New York, Manhattan service center. I had the car checked and the service department told me everything was fine. Now the car is dangerous to drive, engine light is on and the traction light is on. I went to a mechanic here and he said that some cylinders needed to be replaced. Other than that, my drivers side drive shaft needs to be replaced due to the rubber that is wearing off and some kind of liquid is coming out of it, which cost a lot of money and I went to the dealership and they told me that they couldnt even order the parts for me because they would never come. The car has two recalls that needs to be done. The gas pedal keeps getting stuck to the carpet and something that has to do with the fuel, and Lexus is putting my life at risk because I got the car from the States. I really do not understand. The car is still a Lexus and still belongs to Lexus. Im demanding the repair to be done by Lexus company at least from Japan. If you would at least send me an email to someone I can speak to in Japan, I would really appreciate it. The car only has about 9000 miles which is considered still new. Ive asked the Lexus here in Saudi Arabia to at least check the car from the computer to see what the problem is. They refused and told me the codes wouldnt come up because its an American spec car which is really just an excuse because Im 100% sure that it will read all the codes. Please direct me to someones email, just someone who could help me. I moved to Saudi Arabia and had to ship my car because of my work and was transferred here. Im seriously going to look up legal actions against Lexus!

They have quite a few models to choose from. Only a few were in my price range though. They could use some less expensive models in my opinion because not everyone can afford 50k+. The car is very stylish and sleek, and very roomy both for passengers and storage. It has leather interior, wi-fi, GPS, driving assist, and is great on gas mileage. There is a ton of features and you can upgrade almost everything. It all adds up quick though and gets rather pricey. The passenger capacity is great. I can fit 5 people in my car comfortably with plenty of room to move. Im rather short, but my boyfriend is over 6 feet and he sits comfortably in my car.

Lexus needs a few more models as to distinguish itself from other luxury brands. Right now, Lexus has a staple of sedans and coupes for a sporty type of brand. I am not impressed with their SUV and perhaps they need a different type of crossover. I found too that Lexus did not offer as many upgrades as I had hoped to find from a luxury car company. I felt limited by the options available. Otherwise, Lexus has a very Alex and modern look which is supported by modern in-car features. Lexus does a good job of incorporate a more modern feel into a luxury car. The car also fits about 4 comfortably which is more than enough for me. I think it very average in that respect.

I was driving and the PCS would start flashing and all of the sudden the car came to full stop without reason. It happened 4 times, I took it each time to Lexus of Bellevue, they said they couldnt find the problem. The fourth time I was going 50 miles per hour and the car used the brakes by itself; I span and went into a ditch. Someone called the police and I called the Lexus road assistant. They towed the car, I thank God nothing happen to me or my friend. They looked at the car again and one more time the Lexus service said there is nothing wrong with the PCS. I hired an attorney and we are dealing with them right now. The car has been parked for 3 months now, and I am still paying for something I cant enjoy due that I dont feel safe driving it. I own a RX 330 which I take pride in servicing and has always relied on Lexus to do all my services even though they are twice as expensive. December 2013, I spent over $3000.00 in service charge of which included four new tires. I had a flat on the road that was not repairable. I called Lexus dealership in east Hartford, Connecticut. I was told that the new tires I had bought has no warranty. I asked why wasnt I told that at the time of purchase so I could at least make an informed decision to purchase or not. I got the runaround from customer service after holding on the phone for at least twenty five minutes. I was desperate so I asked about giving me a discount on another tire. They denied me that also. I ended up buying another tire from another vender in desperation. I pursued the matter and filed a complaint with Lexus headquarters who did not help the situation any but told me they are not in the tire business and there is nothing they can do for me. Mind you, this is only less than three months after purchasing four new tires. My plan was to purchase my next car from Lexus but with this experience, Infiniti or Acura is looking like a better choice. They so refuse to take responsibility for numerous customer complaints about headlights fogging up.

Lexus is not a very popular car brand because it is expensive and very innovative, but this is why this type of car will last a long time. Since it is a luxurious car, it looks very nice outside and inside. It has leather seats inside and the outside is painted black, making it seem more powerful and beautiful. Upgrading this type of car can usually be expensive, as the car itself is expensive. However, if you have the money to buy the car in the first place, then you should not have any problems upgrading it if needed. Since my car is not large, the passenger capacity is limited. However, all of the passengers that have ridden in my car were quite satisfied, so I would recommend the car when it comes to passenger capacity.

I bought a Lexus RX350 - in 2007. At about the same time, needing a vehicle for commuting, I purchased what some might say is the antithesis of a Lexus - a Hyundai, a Hyundai Elantra (2008), to be precise. Heres what happened since: Date Lexus ($50,000 +) Hyundai ($15,000); Oct 12th 2012, Battery failed (32830 mi); Nov 12th 2012, Idler pulley for drive belt failed (36362 mi); March 11th 2014, Ignition coil #5 failed (42891 mi), replaced drive belts (on highway nearly hit by truck); March 30th 2016, Rear Caliper blown (61498 mi - $654.40); April 20th 2016, Ignition coil #6 failed (62562 mi - $ 293.47); April 20th 2016, Dealer diagnosed leaking steering fluid, recommends steering replacement ($1600 estimate - not done yet).Maintenance items such as regular servicing, brake and tire replacements and such, do not appear in the above list, as also any repairs prior to 2012 (have not kept records). All repairs have been performed at Haldeman Lexus of Princeton, 2630 Brunswick Pike, Business Route 1 North, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648-1000. The vehicle has been run for pleasure, under normal operating conditions. The failures are premature, and entirely unexpected, at these mileages. The vehicle is a Lexus! In contrast, the Hyundai, surprisingly ran fine at 90000 miles +, with no significant breakdowns or repairs, apart from a battery replacement at about 50,000 mi and drive belt replacement at about 85,000 miles. I provided the above comparison to Lexus - have yet to hear from them. No doubt, its difficult to accept that a Hyundai can beat a Lexus hands down, in terms of what Lexus purportedly excels at, manufacturing quality. Looks like we should look elsewhere when we go for a luxury SUV next time!

Its a nice car and I enjoyed it a lot until I traded it in for a BMW M3. It had lots of room. I owned it when my second child was born and it had room for both child car seats and for grandma to sit in the back. The front had lots of leg room. It was very comfortable, powerful V6 engine, with a nice quiet ride. It was a nice two-toned color, white over silver and gold plated accents. Got a great deal from the salesman who had a side business of upgrading the chrome accents to gold. Would have cost about $1,000 from the dealer but I got it for half that price.

My conclusion in short: When buying new, do not intend to keep it after war
My conclusion in short: When buying new, do not intend to keep it after warranty expiration. And never buy used. Here is a long explanation. Very expensive parts. Price fells fast. Reason - expensive parts and low demand as many know these are expensive to maintain. 7 small plastic clips fell off from bottom plastic panels. Cost for one clip $10 bucks. Should cost several cents but no more than $1. They are Lexus unique size. Lucky I found aftermarket $1.50 for 10 abroad. Next, Lexus USA does not stand behind its cars. Exhaust rusted out and made the hole right at the place where it makes a turn at 65k miles (?) one week after extended warranty. At this place band was not an option. Cost to replace $2300, $1800 for part itself. Why? Because exhaust and converters are one complete unit. Called LEXUS USA. Response: Our decision is not to cover even though only one week past warranty. Also our records indicate that you later started to replace oil at other places. What oil has to do with bad exhaust? It is our decision. I had many cars over the years including Toyotas and replaced exhaust on many of them. Some at 150k miles and above. Parts were expensive, but not that expensive. In another instance headlight was damaged. Part cost $2000. It has 2 motors in it to adjust in horizontal and vertical plane, but still it is ridiculous price. I am technical and very handy. Always serviced cars myself. My conclusion is that they are reliable, but complicated cars. Chances to fail are greater in this setup. Therefore in my opinion for long term ownership quality and performance is not enough anymore to justify cost of long ownership or Lexus policies. Lease - maybe, but then return and lets Lexus eat them all.

Paint is still in good condition, no peeling, considering this car hasnt been garaged. It has been holding up well considering it now a 15 year old car with 201,000 miles on it. I was only there for the sports coupe but there were plenty of other models available - sedans, SUVs in several price ranges as well as a full range of colors. I bought the SC430 which, among other things, is a hardtop convertible. It was loaded accessory-wise. The saddle leather seats quite plush and the dash appointments extremely handsome. All in all very sporty, yet very rich! However, this was not a vehicle for accommodating a lot of passengers being a sports coupe. And a convertible as well. Bucket front seats did allow easy access to the back seats but the back seat itself was not a deep seat and not really comfortable for a person of any size. Also, upgrading and personalization options were not really a consideration as the car came standard with virtually every option you could think of. Even the alloy wheels came with 2 different options easily changed by the owner, you could have a certain look one day and a different one the next.

The Lexus RX is the most luxurious car Ive ever driven. Im always complimented about it and the interior is just stunning. And for 40,000 dollars it was definitely a steal and completely worth it. Driving it is smooth and the ride is quiet. The acceleration in 5 seconds took me by surprise. The Lexus RXs can typically hold 6 people. It would be suitable for a small family. If you have a bigger family, Lexus can still hook you up with the GS and the LX etc. I got it in a nice silver color and I always get the urge to wash it (to preserve its beauty). The seats are in great shape, and I find it so amazing that minimal additions and changes could transform it that great. You can customize the interior, exterior and wheels. Its like picking the toppings to add on your perfectly nice fro-yo - its not necessary, but its better - and then you eat it (drive it) and feel content afterwards.

Lexus had issues with brake actuators so the warranty was extended and letters were sent. If you didnt have a problem during the warranty period no action was required and no action would be taken on the vehicle. The warning came up on the dash after the extended warranty was over. We were told by the Dealership Service Manager that Lexus Corporate had always helped in the past on this issue so We had the work done at the Lexus dealership, about $3,500. When Lexus Corporate was contacted the Lexus case manager said they would have to look into it. They called back my cell but left no message at all. I called back but the case manager was unavailable, and I was told they would call back. This same process repeated several times. Finally, I was able to speak with the case manager and was told the policy is strict and nothing is done on extended warranty after the warranty period is over. Why were we not told of the unbending policy from the beginning? To the contrary we were told that Lexus had always covered this issue out of warranty in the past. We could have taken the car for the repairs somewhere else and saved money but were led to believe Lexus would probably provide full relief. Why is Lexus charging full price and making a profit from a known issue?

I found 3 design flaws with my 2012 LS460L none of which Lexus will fix. The 1st incident occurred in Novato, CA making a right turn from the Ignacio Blvd bridge over 101N to Nave Dr. after a rain the previous day. When the front of the car slid slightly, the skid control turned the wheels sharply to the left forcing the car into the lane to my left. Fortunately, there was no car in that lane or there would have been an accident. I was able to regain control but Lexus refuses to investigate this issue insisting it must be reproduced by a dealer for them to act. This is impossible as no dealer has facilities to do this. The 2nd incident occurred on a hill at the intersection of Willard & Parnassus in San Francisco on 3/14/14. I had made a U-Turn to enter a parking space on Willard and was facing downhill. When I put the car in reverse, it rapidly rolled forward which is not expected in an automatic. I submitted video evidence of this to Lexus and this problem was reproduced by Freeman Lexus in Santa Rosa which, however, has no way to fix the problem, and Lexus refuses to do so though this, too, could be a safety hazard. This 3rd incident occurred on 4/14/14 when, at Woodland Market in Ross, I put my car in reverse and the rear view camera did not come on. I put it back in park and then back into reverse and the camera still did not come on. I made a video of this and sent it to Lexus and went to Lexus of Marin to show them the problem. They would have to take the car but I could not give it to them and explained this would not occur again if the car was turned off and started again - which I showed them to be true. This also could be a hazard but Freeman Lexus cannot reproduce this and Lexus absolves itself of any responsibility. Lexus, in fact, tells me if the car works as designed based on what the dealer can find, they will not fix or investigate the issue even if safety is involved. This violates the Toyota DOJ agreement.

Lexus offers luxury, stability and performance. They have over 3 different versions of each model to choose from and theyre all quality. The distinct appearance and standard features of this car brand include its body shape, how it handles on the road, and the amazing quality of the interior let you know you bought a luxury vehicle. The various upgrade and personalization options include very, very expensive parts. Buying upgrades for these brands put you out of pocket quite a bit of money so its best to just buy the one youre comfortable with and not upgrade parts. This brands passenger capacity is that its the same as every other car brand. If its a four seater, its a four seater. Maybe you can fit one more uncomfortably. But its the same. No special space for more.

2008 Lexus RX 350 Water pump was leaking out the shaft of the pump. To change this water pump, they tell me they have to pull or lift the motor. It will cost over $2k. For 60 dollar pump, I going to have to pay them $2k. I had to have my car towed to my house one night only to find out I cannot afford to fix the car. The bearing went bad in the water pump. I think it should be something they fix for part price only because it not my fault you put a car together that you have to pull the engine to get the water pump installed.

Lexus ES330, 2004: I purchased one in 2005 with 13,XXX miles. From day one the slow shift has been a problem. The car constantly bucks when the gears change. I have taken it to service and theyve reset the computer many times. My biggest problem is the delay when accelerating; sometimes 3 to 5 seconds (if at higher speed and need to change lanes, etc. ) the delay has created near misses. I cannot get Lexus to admit this is a problem, or prove it. They say they re-designed the transmission (I think) in 2009. Meanwhile, Im stuck. I hate this car. There has been no change from Lexus service. They do not admit it is a problem.

I took my 2011 RX 350 in because I noticed a small bubble in the side of my rear driver’s side tire. The dealer told me it was not covered under the warranty because it was a road hazard. This is nothing but an excuse not to cover it. If it were a road hazard then there would be some kind of mark on the rim and/or the side of the tire, but there is none on either. I feel that this is a defect in the tire and should be covered under the warranty. It probably started out very small and is now about an inch and a half long, from the tread inward. This car only has 7,400 miles on it. This is my second lease of a Lexus. I feel I should be treated better than this and the tire should be replaced.I would like someone to contact me regarding this ASAP. Regards,Steve **

I have a 2002 RX300 and recently had the transmission go out. It is obvious by all of the complaints online that the 1999-2003 models have a defect in their transmissions. It is also obvious that Lexus does not care. I am very upset as I have addressed Corporate with this and they do not care at all. They are losing a lot of customers as well as myself because of this. This issue should have had a recall. As far as good customer service goes, Lexus needs some help with this. We are in the market for a new car and it will NOT be a Lexus!

The dash started developing very fine hairline cracks about a year ago. Over the last month the cracks have gotten much worse. I have seen even picked up small foam pieces on the floor coming from the dash. It is a real shame since I otherwise like this car. I have informed LEXUS Customer Service via e-mail with pictures about this quality problem and they asked me to take the car to a dealer for evaluation. The dealers replacement estimate was $2519.00. I informed customer Service about the cost and was told that the car was out of warranty... They did not have to offer anything to get it fixed but will give me 25% off the repair. This would still cost me $1889.25, totally unacceptable. I have owned many cars brands in the past and none of them ever had a quality issue like this. When buying a very expensive car anyone expects top quality. I do not understand is why there is such a big cost difference between various dealers for the same repair (based on other posts). Recent history shows that Toyota is reluctant to stand behind their products and if there is a class action lawsuit, I would like to know how to join. Unless Toyota comes forward with a better offer this will be the last car I have bought from them.

I have a very critical problem! Im on oxygen 24 hours a day. I rent the Invacare Solar II portable oxygen machine because I can re-charge it in the car by plugging into the car cigarette lighter. I had a life threatening experience while on a trip to Connecticut. I had the Invacare plugged into the cigarette lighter and the end melted and couldnt be used at all. I was stuck on the highway with no oxygen. I have taken the car to the dealership several times and they keep changing the fuse but were not able to fix the problem. The Invacare Solar II is designed to be re-charged from the cigarette lighter.

I have a 2004 Lexus RX 330 in Bamboo color. While under warranty, all the door handles and outside mirrors faded. Lexus repainted/replaced all of them under warranty. Now, February 2012, the same oddity reoccurred and Lexus claims they are exempted from repairing them since it is out of the warranty period. No one from Lexus or the dealer can explain why this anomaly occurred in the first place or reoccurred. The vehicle is garaged and even receives a so-called protective coating from the dealer every six months.
