My mothers brand new Kia Sorento was purchased to take a trip 800 miles to see her sisters. When she arrived, the displays, (all digital), went black. Mind you this car has 1055 miles on it and she is now in Redding Ca., 800 miles from home here in Utah. She called Kia in Redding, and they told her they couldnt help her. She then called the dealership here in Utah and they told her the same thing. They gave her a customer service number. When she called it, they immediately knew the part number. After she gave this to the dealership, they told her it would take 5 weeks to get it from Korea! She once again called the dealership where she purchased the car, In Salt Lake City, Utah, and they offered no help at all! They told her she is basically stuck in Redding CA for at least 5 weeks, or she could chance it and cross the 500 miles of desert between Reno and her home here in Utah... KIA IS A JOKE! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENTS I HAVE EVER HEARD OF!

Since I bought a KIA in 2009, I received almost every week any advertisement from KIA or other companies regarding my KIA. Every KIA dealer I went in the last 6 years, because of moving, dont stop sending me advertisement. KIA American dont provide any email address to opt out or something else to avoid this advertisements. The cars are great for the price but because of this much advertisements, I am disappointed about KIA and its a reason NOT to buy my next car from KIA. When I will buy my next car, I will ask for a letter from the car dealer. They have to pay a punishment for every unwilling advertisement they will send me. I will see if any dealer will do this. :-)

At the beginning of December 2011, I brought my 2008 Rio5 to the Kelowna dealer to check out a rubbing sound from under the hood. They said it was probably a bushing. Now it is December 30 and they keep sending estimates to Kia then sending an estimate for something else. When I phone the Kia service/warranty number, they say well phone the dealer, the dealer says they just submitted another estimate and on and on.I had a trip across Canada planned for Christmas that fell through and it looks like I will miss my parents 50th wedding anniversary. I am at the point where I will take it to a trannie shop then paint my car with a Kia Sucks motif for my very delayed trip.

i have been having trouble putting fuel in my 2003 Kia Sorento. My warranty has already expired. I did get a recall letter from Kia for the fuel filter replacement, at which time I felt sure this was my problem, and since it was a recall, would be taken care of by Kia. They explained to me that the reason it was recalled was because it was not listed in the manual at all, as something to be changed every so many miles. They sent two pages to be added to the manual. My local Kia dealership did change the fuel filter. That same day, after trying to put fuel in the car, I find nothing had changed. I called them and asked them to look at it again, and took it back several days later, as they were to change another recall, known as the induction control valve, and check my fuel tank once again. They told me that a charcoal canister located in the fuel system had come apart, and I now had charcoal debris in my gas tank, which of course was not covered, and that part was $134.90, and the labor would be $199.00. I went home and went through my manual for a couple of hours trying to locate this charcoal canister, to better understand how such a thing could happen. After having no luck locating it in the manual, I called Kia, and told them my dilemma, and asked them if they could tell me where in the manual this part is located, and are you ready for this? I was told it was not in the manual, because it was not listed as maintenance! I asked well how would anyone know it was even there, if it wasnt listed. They said it was just a part that was never to be changed at any point and time. Now Im going to be out $350.00, on a part that no one knows existed, nor was ever to be changed. I write this in hopes that it will help anyone else, who is having similar problems. If your fuel spits back at you, or you have to dribble the fuel in, it may be this part that no one knew about, or was not a part that should ever need maintenance. Sorry, but a Kia is not in my future.

I had a 2007 Kia Sorrento. I say had because the engine blew up. Actually it failed because of a defective part in the engine. It had 90,000 miles on it and Kia refused to do anything. They should have replaced the engine at their cost but no, I suggest to split the cost with them, but no. This claim went through several levels of the corporate customer service, and they were not helpful at all. All this took weeks for them to investigate, which they actually did nothing. This should not be the way they treat customers. And let me say, I own another Sorrento, I have recommended, and friends and family have bought several Kia. No longer do they get my support.

So in 2013 I get a brand new Kia Forte EX with 42 on the OD. I’m thinking it’s the stuff blue tooth, power windows, all the goodies including satellite radio. The guys at the dealership told me, after 6months trade it in, I love it so much I didn’t and now I’m stuck with it. Now it’s 2019, since 2015 I’ve been having to change out headlights, brake lights, tail lights, two batteries in 2019, and get this about 6 months ago I started smelling a burning smell, well turns out the backlight in back windshield the bulb to it had exploded and the wire had started to burn. That ain’t even the half of it, since 2016, the lights come on by themselves at night. I picked it up on my house camera I have outside. They just came on, and since 2014 acquiring signal regardless of it being satellite am or fm or a cd. And it don’t stop there, LOL. Omg I could cry and rip my hair out. The speakers go in and out and crackle. The door seals leak. When I turn my steering wheel or put on the turn signal radio acquires signal, cheap interiors that don’t withstand anything. The drivers seat gets hard after a few years too. The lights flicker when I drive sometimes, a big electrical problem... One that goes through the whole car and is a very expensive fix. Oh and wait my shift knob broke. It broke! How does that happen? Cheap paint, this is cheap, an overly cheap car for what they ask for them. When I use my AC, the brakes act like they don’t want to work. I put the car in park once and when I got ready to get out it started to roll back. And guess what the dealership has changed out fuses and harnesses and other stuff re the lights but somehow can’t reproduce the other stuff so I started making videos and keeping the ones from my security system. Even after an oil change I get nasty smells coming into the car. They even changed the filters. I pray my next car won’t be a Kia. And the gas mileage it’s horrible. Don’t fool yourselves.

I loved my Kia 2013 Kia Sportage. I was a Honda and Toyota owner for years and on an impulsive buy I decide to go against my own advice and bought my 2013 Kia Sportage brand spanking new. I really didnt have a complaint about Kia until I was riding down the highway one evening and the car just lost power. After towing it away the mechanic told me that the engine was seized and it was a $7000 repair. He advised me to call Kia because this appears to be a Known issue. After doing my own research, I discovered that there have been a number of recalls on these cars (55,000 in the united states) and a some across Canada. Well long story short....my engine number is not in the recall list along with 100s of others who have lodged investigations with Transport Canada. They have a list of these cars from 2011-2013 that were sold with a defect. Buyers Beware. Kia knows about the issue but refuses to fix it. After the agent wished me all the best.... I can never buy or endorse Kia again.

My mother was driving her 2010 Kia car when the gear stick came right out in her hand! Imagine what a shock that was, when she was just left with the stick. My father had to come and pick her up. Shed had to be driving the car slower as the gear wasnt working and she ended up causing a traffic jam. When she could finally pull over into a safe area, she let Kia know. They told her to bring the car to them! She explained calmly that she wasnt going to drive a car with a non-functioning gear stick. The lady on the other end of the phone tried convincing her that she should just go really slowly. Unbelievable! When my mother became angrier and asked them if they really expected her to drive the car, another man came on the phone and tried the same tactic. My mother said they needed to come and get the car. Surprise, surprise; there was no one available. And, to add to this, apparently the gear stick doesnt form part of their 7-year warranty anyway! Now, maybe its just me, but Im thinking theres something really fishy about that. How convenient! She asked them what came in the warranty then, shed like to know for the future!Never mind that she has had continual problems with Kia before and even that very morning when she had gone to get her car fixed after something had fallen off the front, they didnt have the correct parts when she went so that was a wasted journey. It was as if everything was supposed to happen that day in order for us to realize that Kia is a very dodgy company. I agree with the other reviews here: a shoddy company, with shoddy parts and shoddy customer service. They dont help you; they mess you around, and their warranty is very shaky as they try to wriggle out of whatever they can. Shell be getting rid of this car as soon as she can and well be spreading the word about this not-fit-for-purpose company!

I purchased a used 2016 Kia Sorento fully loaded SXL (Highest trim, original MSRP of $43,000) for $27,000 + TAX/FEE with just under 40,000 miles on it in 2017. I had the car shipped to me from Gary Rome KIA in ENFIELD, CT (Never do business with this dealership. They are dishonest). I live in TN and they shipped the car down to me after a brief negotiation of price over the phone. From the moment the car was delivered to me I had several issues that the KIA dealership that sold me the car should have taken care of. 1. The panoramic moonroof was sticking and wouldnt close properly. 2. The car had tires on it OLDER THAN THE SUV ITSELF! 3. The tailgate was sticking and not opening properly.4. The keyless entry and automatic tailgate opening both did not work properly (Less than 60% success on keyless entry, 90%+ failure on tailgate feature). 5. The car was delivered with only ONE key fob (Promised two, never made good on it. Thats $200). 6. The exhaust system on the SUV had a catastrophic failure resulting in complete loss of engine power and leaving me without a car for over a week while car was at local dealer being repaired under warranty. All these issues in a $40k SUV that was under 40k miles and about a year old.Despite all these issues, the warranty covered fixing the exhaust (Melted catalytic converter), fixing the moonroof (Lubrication added and hardware adjustments), and a temporary fix on the tailgate sticking (Anti-Stick coating applied. Didnt help for long. Problem returned within a month). The dealer never acknowledged the keyless entry had any issue telling me I had to physically remove the key from my pocket for it to work properly. This defeats the entire purpose of KEYLESS entry. This is 100% unacceptable and they know it. Despite all these issues upfront, I enjoyed the value of the features in the car and wanted to keep it. I kept it for about year and traded it in 2018 for a Lexus (Ive never had a single poor experience with Lexus. They are worth every extra penny and their keyless entry JUST WORK!).For those considering buying a KIA here are some PROS and CONS based from my experiences with the product and company. PROS. 1. They honored warranty work. Never cost me anything other than inconvenience and time. 2. Cars come with high end features for less cost. 3. Buying a used KIA is very attractive from a price/value perspective. 4. Quality of KIA has improved dramatically over the years.CONS. 1. Car had tons of issues, some of which like the keyless entry that KIA refused to acknowledge were issues. 2. KIA vehicles DEPRECIATE LIKE A LEAD BALLOON. NEVER buy a brand new KIA. Youll get taken to the cleaners on your trade or when you decide to sell. Even if you buy used, the trade/value of their vehicles are TERRIBLE! Having owned the 2016 KIA Sorento for about a year and getting the mileage up to 60k miles, I was offered anywhere from 20-22k in trade AT A KIA DEALERSHIP! A Ford dealer offered me $23.8k. I paid $27k. Car dropped between 3.2-7k in value in 20k miles/1 year. Seriously? Even the KIA dealerships dont want their product back. Very disappointed in value retention of product. Some dealerships didnt even want to offer anything because of the KIA name. Maybe I just got unlucky and was delivered a LEMON. However I dont give KIA a pass for this since I purchased a practically brand new car from THEIR FRANCHISED DEALERSHIP and was delivered an absolute piece of garbage. I purchase a new 1-3 year old used car (Normally off lease) about every 1-3 years. I favor high end luxury cars in the price range of $30-40k. There are three car manufacturers I will never buy from again. BMW (These cars are fun to drive but absolutely trash and maintenance and repairs will eat you alive). KIA (These cars on the surface appear to be great values but you get what you pay for). Mitsubishi (My first car was a Galant. Head gasket blew up at 60k miles. Car was babied and I expected to get many more years of life out of it. This happened when I was just out of college.) Congratulations KIA. You made the list. Ill never buy your brand again because of the terrible experience and product you delivered.

I’ve bought three Kia cars. I love the design and price but I’m done with Kia. Two of the cars have had engine problems. One the rod went through the engine (Kia Soul). They replaced it with no problem, gave me a rental car and everything went smoothly. This second one has been painful (Kia Sorento). After months and multiple trips to the dealer because a light was on but they couldn’t find any issue, the car finally stopped working in the middle of rural GA. Because of the pandemic, while they fixed the engine, I had to rent a rental car. Of course it took months, I understand parts etc are issues at this point. But in the almost three months since I’ve had the car back and I’ve had to take the car in for that same light twice with fixes that I’ve had to pay for, I haven’t received my rental reimbursement after submitting the request almost three months ago but they’ve said I went over their daily cap for reimbursement despite the fact I had the lowest tier rental and used a discount code. Note, nowhere in the paperwork or multiple conversations with the dealer and corporate did they say there was a daily cap. And they’re not responding to requests for an update. I’m going to look for a new SUV this weekend. I’m done with Kia!

OK, so I bought a used 2006 Sorento in 2008 with 30,000 miles. It seemed nice, but I did not have it for a week. Then, the headlight and taillight were out. The dealer fixed it and said it was under warranty, to go to Kia. I went to a Kia dealer, they told me it had a recall and needed new wiring harness for both front and back. They ordered them. When I went back for the scheduled appointment, they had not ordered it and the next time I went back, the dealer had closed! I went to a nearby town. Kia ordered the front and corrected the headlight. But the rear, they claimed they knew nothing about. I had to return because the headlight again burned out and they told me to use Kia bulbs, so I did at $53.00 per replacement? Come on, now theres no way I am replacing them. I went back about the rear and had a small crack in the taillight. They told me that was the problem. However, the problem existed before the crack in the taillight. I was out on that as well and I have to wonder where that crack came from. I had the car serviced a few weeks ago and had 7 taillights replaced as all were out. I bet you, I have put in $100 since I have had this car. The lighter in the car quit working, they replaced that. Of course, it lasted for two weeks. The phone charger does not work either, but did in the beginning. It no longer does. Now time for inspection and the service engine light came on. They said I need two oxygen sensors and a new converter. This car has 75,000 miles on it. What is it made of and do I have a reason to complain? If you buy a used Kia, you only get 65,000 miles on warranty, not the 100,000. I dont even dart on the door of their service department after a $53.00 light bulb that burnt out the same as the one from a local parts house. Very disappointed in this car and I wont go that route again unless something changes, until everything fell apart on it. I would have bought a new one this year.

I just paid off my Kia Rio 2005 in April. About two months ago, the engine exploded so I had it rebuilt. Then the water pump malfunctioned so I had that repaired. After that, it needed a new thermostat, then a piece of the radiator popped off. And most recently, the water pump needed replacement again. It is also making horrific noises sometimes when I use the brakes. So far, I have put about $3000 into repairing this vehicle. I depend on it to get to work. The transportation service in Jacksonville is terrible and I need a car. Also about two years ago, the a/c stopped working and about a year ago the switch for the headlights stopped working properly causing my brights to come on at times. And a couple of months ago, the door to the drivers side will not open unless I roll down the window put the key in the door and open it. I work full time but due to the economy our hours are cut. I am going into debt trying to repair this vehicle.

My car, a 2009 Kia Rondo, had the right front wheel bearing go out at 69114 miles. It was replaced. I just had the left front wheel bearing replaced at 75977 miles. I have a problem with this because these should not have been a problem at this low mileage. I feel, as a safety issue, that Kia should repair the back ones also since the bearings were probably installed poorly to begin with. They wont do it.

Rating: Poor. When I decided to purchase a 2012 Kia Sorento, I spoke with the dealership several times in order to make it a quick and easy transaction. I spent six hours sitting in the waiting room of the dealership. This should have been my first clue! When I arrived home and reviewed the paperwork, I discovered that instead of taking off the amount of my trade in and downpayment, they added it. I was overcharged $10,000. After contacting the Kia finance department and not getting any answers, just excuses, we contacted the attorney general and our attorney. I feel that I was discriminated against and taken advantage of because I am a woman. I have had nothing but trouble with the vehicle since I got it. The headlights wouldnt shut off and after spending 5 hours at the service center, was told that a part would be there in 2-3 days. They offered to give us a ride home or let us drive the vehicle and continue unhooking the battery each time we parked the vehicle. My husband had to get pretty nasty with them in order for them to give us a loaner car. They stated that they didnt have any, but offered to rent one from a rental company. At that time, I also explained that the headrest had fallen off. They didnt even get that fixed! When I returned to pick up my car, they had to program the keyless remotes, and now they dont work. I would never recommend a Kia to anyone, nor will I ever purchase another one.

They also added a second warranty of $2,000 and the total warranty charged was $3,795.00. Right after signing, the sales person came in and folded all the papers so I could not even look them over.

Well I talked to them on the phone and they said I had sludge in the oil. I just changed the oil a month ago! Long story short, they want 600 bucks to tear it down so they can find out what happened and go up to bat for me, yeah right! I bought this car thinking I wouldnt have to do something like this. They then sold me a freaking marker to color over the chips. The problem is these chips went all the way through the paint layers and you can see indentations when they are colored with the marker and every week I find more paint chips. I had a 2013 Soul and I loved it and I never had a problem with the paint.

To get a $500.00 rebate, I finance my 2014 Kia Soul (!) with the whole shebang through Kia Finance. 1st invoice came and showed the payoff amount. Sent them a check. Within a couple of weeks, got the pink slip in the mail. Then a week or so later, a check came in the mail as the payoff amount was over what was on the invoice. Very happy with their honesty. Had a Hyundai before and their manufacturer was great standing behind their product beyond 5 years... Never had a repair bill, just basic maintenance.

Great car which is very innovative and has great gas mileage. It is very technologically advanced. It is very easy to maintain too. It has a lot of amenities which are standard. We had to change our battery 3 times in one year. I asked the Kia dealership at one of their regularly scheduled overpriced maintenance to check why the battery is not staying charged and they told me nothing. A 19-year-old at the local AutoZone listened for five seconds and told me my alternator had a bad bearing. Now, it’s time for inspection and the check engine light wont go off, so my mechanic tells me I have to take it to Kia to have them re-flash the software because it doesnt recognize the VIN. They charged $95, told me it was fixed, but the light was still on, so I go back inside and then they tell me, oh yeah, the computer is shot and its $2,000 to fix it. My mechanic is putting a rebuilt computer in for $200. I must still take it to the dealership to be re-flashed with Kia software, so thats another $95. I feel that Kia is a cheap piece of crap, I wont buy another one, and I wont pay for their outrageously expensive maintenance.

I bought a used 05 Amanti with 66K miles - one previous owner. My first problem was at only three of my own miles, it has gone through the same coil pack every month. It has sudden acceleration requiring neutral to avoid an accident. It sometimes refuses to accelerate. It eats batteries and now it has severe handling issues. I have owned cars with 174K miles that ran better than this lemon. It is parked till paid off when I will sell it for scrap. Save yourself headaches - do not buy Kia or Hyundai (Kia is owned by Hyundai). Kia corporate has been unable to duplicate the problem. I contacted a lemon law lawyer who told me since I bought it used I had no legal recourse. Safecar.gov has tons of complaints about Amantis with the same issues I have.

We have a 2012 Kia Sorento with 15k on it. The battery died. No excessive use involved. Contacted the dealership in Hurst Tx. They said it was out of warranty and we would have to spend around $159.39 to get it replaced. This did not sit well with me. Weve been married almost 42 years and have had other vehicles that batteries lasted over 4 years without incident. Now Im wondering if this was a fluke or there is something going on with the electrical system that eats batteries.

I arrived to Kia at 8 am on Saturday 2-18/17 because my car was making noises when I pressed on the brakes. After 2 hours the rep came to the waiting room to speak to another customer and when finished he yelled across the room at me maam your car probably needs brakes then walked off...duh. I told them that when I got there. After another 30 min the same guy came to me stating my car needed brakes and they dont have them and it will be a few days before they can get them. My options are 1. drive away and come back in a few days to have my brakes changed and try not to drive too much because if additional parts go bad I will have to pay a lot more and they may not have all the parts...they really told me that. 2. Pay for a rental car until the parts come in and they can get replaced. They refused to get me a liner at no fee. 3. They could order some brakes from the auto parts store nearby and use them, but they may be noisy and not last. Wtf. I drive a Kia Sorento 2014, I come to KIA to get KIA parts. This is the first and last time I come here. So horrible.

Why am I liable for something that has not been my fault? I am giving this a day to be resolved then I will go to my lawyers which is scorpion and I will not give up. I refuse to pay a service. When I pay for the service if I wanted to pay I was not going to take the service plan. I know I have to pay for the brakes. I will not pay the service so let me explain myself for the 100th time. I took my car for the service as agreed with Kia east rand branch. On the 3rd I had a accident with my car. As per attached you can clearly see I picked it up on the 23rd of Dec knowing I never skip my service as you can see and Im never late either. I tried phoning Kia Kempton as thats where I always take my car. Disappointingly no one responds. I then phone your kia kempton sales to find out why is no one getting back to find out oh they closed. Fair enough.I go on your useless website where it clearly states book a service, leave your details, someone will get back to you. And to my surprise guess what? No one did. So sad. This I did in Dec knowing my car needs to go. I desperately try and get hold of someone. No one phones me back. I phone your branch east rand either the 28 or 29 Dec. I get the following words: Sorry we are full but we can help you the 3rd. Knowingly this is not going to work as its due now they assure me its no problem at all. So I believed your people again. Im doing it as per how Im suppose to keep in mind as attached my car went in. So I could not do it as I usually do early and if you bothered phoning your customers back this wont happen. So I get a nice phone call today. I need to pay for a service. Now look the lady there well done but for the rest useless. So Im giving this one day to be resolved so I can take my car at the cost of you all not me as I pay for the service plan and I was not at fault as you can see. So one day and then Im taking this further. I will not leave this. I will pay for my brakes. Not the service. My number to get hold of me; **. I expect a call in the next hour. As to how this will be resolved this car is not second hand its not ten years old and its sure as ** has never missed a service and kia kempton didnt say nothing at all. So blame your staff not me. I pay you still and whats sad its 200000 not a 5000 second hand car. This is disgusting to think I wanted to buy another kia when this is the treatment you get when you not at fault between kia and liquid capital? My car will be serviced at your cost. Decide how so I can take it as Im running the km up by having it again your fault. One hour and Im sending it to my lawyer.

On eight separate occasions, I was charged $139.49 for a total of $1,115.92 AFTER my loan for a KIA Soul had been completely paid off. I have never experienced overcharges to this degree — house, other cars, etc. I contacted KIA Finance on four occasions over three months to no avail. I was promised everything from the “check’s in the mail” to “no record that no check was ever issued” to “a refund in 30 days or sooner” to a “customer complaint has been opened.” Neither CSRs or supervisors were able to make anything positive happen. My bank said it couldn’t get involved so late after the fact. Disappointed and will probably never buy a KIA again.

Let me add, I am still until factory warranty and have about 69,000 miles on the Kia. I was told that the engine was gone. I said how so when I had maintenance done. KIA denied to fix my car and states I have to 5665.00 to get my car fix, in which the used engine is 2115.00, 954.00 for test ran on the car and the rest is labor and parts. I hope this helps someone. My car is still at Kia and I dont know what else to do.

Today I paid Kia for 2019 property taxes of a vehicle I do not own since August 31, 2018 when I traded it for a new Toyota car. I tried everything to clarify the issue but they just decided to send the tax assessment to a collection company. I moved from Ma to IL, changed plates, sold the car in 2018, etc and the still kept charging me property taxes for the vehicle. Before this, I had multiple issues with the Kia financing department to the point that I had to get the general manager of the Kia dealer in Massachusetts to fix the issues with finance. I have gotten no help or updates from either the Moritz Kia in Hurst or heard back from anyone from your office. Why was this information not convey to me prior to all this work and time being spent on the car? If this was communicated to me ahead of time, I would have had my local mechanic correct your issue in less than a week for less the half the price. When the mechanic opened the hood did he not noticed the radiator had been replaced?Just so I have the sequence of event correctly stated: 02 August 2015, my vehicle overheated, with all ORIGINAL equipment. I have towing receipt. Vehicle has been in dealership since 05 August. 21 September 2015, I was told KIA will not Honor 100K mile warranty because I had replaced the original radiator that had leaked (AFTER the engine overheated). I never experienced such bad customer service. Bad practice... First and last time I will buy a KIA.

To understand this KIA dealership in Burton UK, I need to back up a bit. I saw a car on the internet and arranged to view it. On the agreed day I checked to make sure that he car was still available and they said yes. I set off by train from Coventry UK. I had to change at Birmingham UK to catch a train to Burton. At Birmingham I got a call to say that the car has been sold. This sets the background to my subsequent dealings with KIA in Burton. They apologized and promised to let me have first look at another car. (With hindsight, I should have declined.)I did look at another car, the salesman told me that the car had had only one previous owner who gave up the car because he had epilepsy. We negotiated and agreed on a price based on what I had seen of the car and what I was told. He told me that (1) the car will be checked over and serviced (2) I will have two year free service in 2015 and 2016. When I received my V5C form from DVLA, it had two previous owners. I sent a text on 17/11/14 to the salesman and he did not reply to my query that he told me the car had only one previous owner from October 63. He did not reply. One morning as I was driving along the road I found that my windscreen washer had frozen. The temperature was barely -1 deg Celsius. When it thawed, I noticed that instead of the normal windscreen solution, it was pure water. Alarm bells started ringing. I checked the Service book and it was not stamped. I then wondered why the boot light has never come on.I wrote with a list of complaints to the CEO of KIA including that the car had not been serviced. My complaint was passed on to the customer services department saying that the garage was only obliged to top up the windscreen washer (with water by implication) and not to introduce a solution that lowered the freezing temperature of the windscreen washer. I found that astonishing. On the question of previous owners, because I had no documentary or audio evidence to support what I claimed was the gist of the conversation, that was dismissed. Apparently the bulb in the boot and had burnt out from use... by whom I wondered? They asked me to return the service book so that they will stamp it. I refused. I asked whether the two year verbal agreement on servicing the car still holds. No reply. I am intending to send it for servicing and bill the garage and if they refuse to pay, Ill try the small claims court. I paid for the car based on the information given to me which they deny. What should I do? Can I ask for my money back or reach some form of compromise? I also tend to write to KIA in Korea to complain. I suggested to the customer services that the point that the service book was not stamped is evidence that it was not serviced. There was no counter argument. The scan of the service document carried out had no page number so it could have been written any time. What can/shall I do? Anyone have the address of KIA in Korea?

This is my third lease. I had a Jetta and a Prius. Both companies had excellent customer service. They both put the customer first. Made everything clear. My payment are always on time. Never had a single issue till I decided to lease with Kia. Advice - DO NOT LEASE WITH KIA. First: Pay your lease via the phone. Although they will charge you 7 dollars to make an over the phone payment. Which is ridiculous, this is the only to make sure your payment actually goes through. Their website is horrible, and the turnaround is 7 days. Second: Getting a live customer service person on the phone: It is a challenge to be able to talk to a live person. Once you get a customer service rep they either do not speak English and do not care to help you with any issue you may have. I will never lease again from Kia. I am not a happy customer. Third: Their website is out of date. Do not make any payments on their website.

There needs to be a class action lawsuit! It can lock up while you are driving or explode!!! How many people have already wrecked because they just thought it was just sounding a little loud. KIA has stated that everything refers back to the Owners Manual for everything. However when you buy a vehicle brand new an individual is not given a copy of the owners manual to read prior to buying the vehicle. In trying to get my blown motor covered by the warranty, I have found out that if you do your own oil changes a person is supposed to keep all of their receipts and put them in the manual. Not all people are of the personality to keep all receipts so this is not an excuse for them to deny the coverage of the warranty. I took the vehicle into the dealership because it had a problem in Feb. and they said it was low on oil at that time and that was the problem. Only a vehicle with 28K miles should not be low on oil when the last oil change happened at 24,830. Now at 33K the engine is blown and KIA is refusing to honor the warranty because they are saying it was a lack of maintenance.

DO NOT PURCHASE A KIA - Kia Motors America IS AWFUL! I bought a car from Peak Kia in Colorado Springs, CO in July 2018 right after my husband returned from his deployment. It has since been in the shop since Jan 14, 2019. They have never fixed the initial issue of it not starting properly and have found various other items wrong with the car. I contacted Kia Corporate about a buyback (not lemon law) in February 2019 and they said they would process it and to send the paperwork. I did this in March 2019. Kia Corporate has escalated my case to upper management and the representative has called me two times since the case was assigned to him. He will not return phone calls or emails. The communication is not there and nothing is being done.Peak Kia has stated many times they do not know what is wrong with it; corporate refuses to do anything. I have been driving a small car since January when my vehicle is an SUV. We are still paying monthly payments on a car we havent driven since January. I have all items documented but both Peak Kia and Kia Corporate do not appear to care. I am sick of this and something needs to be done. Being called two times in 5 months by my case manager from corporate is absolutely ridiculous. If the vehicle cannot be fixed in 5 months, it clearly cant be fixed. It needs to be bought back or they need to take it back for what I paid and supply me with a new vehicle, as well as all monthly payments, insurance and inconvenience fees. Kia Motors America is the worst company- buyers beware!

Kia Motors wanted to charge me $470 to replace a timing belt on my auto. I refused and, two months later, my engine was destroyed. Kia stated I violated my warranty and failed to honor its Powertrain Warranty. It was brought out in litigation that the timing belt was covered and that Kia Motors has a conflict between their warranty and their required maintenance schedule. The issue that really needs to be addressed here is that the courts are allowing Kia Motors to enforce a limited liability clause to limit the damages in a lawsuit, but the clause the judges are using is not a clause that applies to Kia Motors express warranties.

You might not be directly involved in the fraud and the Payment Packing that is being used in finance, all of you most definitely are aware of whats going on over there in finance. Our problem seems minor when I read some of the complaints people have. The rear seat release, passenger side has broken which does not allow us to raise the seat back to a sitting position. This allows only one person to sit in the rear seat. The release was always balky but since it was used only sparingly we lived with it. Well it finally failed. If you look closely at it, the lever handle is connected by a flimsy plastic piece that broke. My dealer gave me price in excess of $600.00 to repair. Since we have 63,000 miles it is out of warranty. We were told to contact Kia Customer Services, which we have done with very little results. We have been waiting over two weeks for a response. We were told we could expect in two business days.

Have you ever had to replace a radio in the first 3 years of the cars life?
Have you ever had to replace a radio in the first 3 years of the cars life? Unbelievable! Took it to the dealership, and we were over the warranty by 2,000 miles. Back to the original question - Have you ever had to replace a radio within the first three years? Let me take this one step further - have you ever had to replace a radio... period? From my own personal experience of over thirty years of car ownership, I can say with great confidence the answer is NO on both counts... that is until I owned a Kia. Before you purchase this car, consider the possibility that they stock it with POS electronics that will go up shortly after the warranty expires. Oh, almost forgot the cost for a replacement of the POS radio is $2,000. You did not misread that quote. $2,000 to replace something that will likely go up in another three years. Before you think of buying Kia, look elsewhere for manufacturers that are willing to stand behind their product!

The KIA Soul is advertised to get 27-34 miles per gallon. I have owned my Soul for 2 months and have logged just under 3000 miles. I have it on the Economy Mode and am conservative about how I drive. But Im only averaging 23-25 miles per gallon. I drive to different locations, usually a 70-80 mile round trip, at least 50 miles of which is freeway. Needless to say, Im very disappointed with the mileage. Its not even hitting the low end of 27, and its nowhere near the expected highway mileage of 34 mpg.Now onto a totally different subject, the Mr. Sandman commercial. Sheesh. They objectify women and men. They show beautiful sexy women and big burly muscled men in super macho endeavors like sawing logs and fighting. So? Back to a real problem. My mileage isnt what the TV commercials or the window sticker represent. The only reason I was even looking at a new car was to increase my mileage - by at least 10 mpg - from my beloved Pontiac Aztek, which averages 20 mpg. Anyone else have this mileage shortfall with the KIA Soul?

Wires burned out without triggering the fuses, following a jump start by AAA on my 2008 Kia Rondo. The Sansone dealership and Kia headquarters are denying warranty coverage despite faulty original wiring and/or fuse box. The wires should not burn out before the fuses are tripped. Without warranty coverage, which the car has for 100,000 miles or 10 years, it would be precarious to order another jump start when the wiring and/or fuse box are faulty.

The speedometer on my 2005 Kia Spectra sometimes doesnt read my speed correctly. The first time the incident occurred, it was almost 2 years ago. I only had the car for a day. While at the red light, the speedometer said I was driving 60 mph. When I started moving, it went up to 120 mph. The following day, I took the car back to the dealer, they checked it and explained to me that they couldnt find anything wrong with the speedometer. A week ago, today, I got a speeding ticket for driving 60 mph in a 40 mph zone. After getting the ticket, as soon as I started driving, I noticed the speedometer at 50 mph. I noticed immediately that the speedometer was acting up again. I stopped the car to confirm. After coming to a complete stop, the speedometer was still reading 40 mph and then the hand started slowly moving downwards. The following morning, I took the car in to my nearest Kia dealer where they checked it, said they ran a test and placed it on their computers but couldnt find anything wrong or any error codes so theres nothing they could do. Now I have to go to court, pay a speeding ticket, get points on my license all for something thats not my fault and something I cant fix nor the dealer can fix. So Im going to need Kia to fix this!

Our 2014 KIA Sorento audio volume speed control doesnt work when the vehicle accelerate, we have to keep adjusting the volume both when we are at high speed (highway) and low speed (city). The Kia dealer didnt find any fault, so they took the car for a test drive and compared it with other new SUV and they said they noticed that the volume changed barely, but so small (or low) that anyone barely will notice that the volume adjusted itself, and they said without KIA directed them to do something, they cant. So they told me to call KIA and explain the problem and thats were the unwelcome and the frustration came in: I called KIA to explain the problem so I can have a better understanding of whats going! Everything was going okay til I mention the complaint about the volume and she became very angry with me and started to speak very loud! She asked the name of the dealer and the name of the person handling the repair etc., and she said if the dealer said the SUV is working normally then it is. So I tried to explain to her of what the dealer did and how they couldnt diagnose the problem, but she became so angry with me all of a sudden that she was very hard to talk to! So I thank her for her NO HELP and hang up.I am frustrated with this because I found out that I am not the only Sorento owner with this problem, and the way she was on the defensive, Im pretty sure she has heard about the problem. I have a 2001 Chevy Impala and it has that audio volume speed control feature and guess what??? It works flawlessly and KIA cant make the same system work on a 2014 model?? Really. I want KIA to look into this problem and update the SUV systems.

I was one of the misfortunate people to purchase a used Kia. There was 70,000 miles left on the warranty but I did not know that this did not transfer to the second owner. Kia is one of two companies that do not allow for transfer of warranty. I had the ball joints replaced at my Kia dealer and within a short time the engine overheated and required over $1000 of repair. I question what was done to the vehicle while being serviced. Overall the service at Kia has been poor and when I complain I am treated as if it is my fault. I will never own another Kia vehicle.

I have to do work on my car from time to time. The last car was not safe for my little one to ride in, so I went and bought a brand new car. I thought that buying a NEW car, I would not be getting someone Elses problem! In December, my car started needing a jump, then it ran good for a while and then I heard a clicking that sounded like it was coming from the battery area. It has started blowing out air when the air is turned off. The clicking and blowing air seems to come together. Now I hear this while driving. I am rethinking buying the NEW KIA Rio for the safety of my child. Dont worry now there is a popping noise coming from the wheel area? If anyone has any thoughts or ideas, please help! Im the first owner but KIA says they are not sure what it is and Ill have to pay. HELP, please from a loving mother to another loving parent, grandparent, or anyone kind enough to help. People are buying these cars for their family, wife, or kids and it looks like they may not be safe for anyone. I think it is safe to say no KIA I have ever seen gets the gas mileage they claim. I paid off my car but do not plan to buy another KIA no matter what! Please stop buying or try to stop them from selling before they kill people with these unsafe cars!!!!!!!

Two weeks ago we purchased a new 2014 Kia Soul +. And less than 48 hrs/200 miles later, a loud clunk noise occurred at 45 mph, causing the vehicle to jump, and thereafter was stuck in 4th gear. The dealer replaced a computer module that controls the transmission. Had to drive a loaner for 5 days then got repaired Kia back... Within 24 hrs/60 miles, the same clunk, again stuck in 4th gear. The service dept guy told me there was nothing for them to look at unless the check engine light was on.. so I continued on to work, driving 45 mph on 4-lane highway for 35 miles :( . The check engine light did eventually come on. Back to the service dept, where they said they needed to reset the system with the new module. After another 2 days of driving a loaner, picked up the (repaired) Soul within 36 hrs/70 miles, another clunk and stuck in 4th gear. I should mention that the clunk feels like the equivalent of driving over a speed bump at 45 mph.. it jars the entire vehicle and causes me to have a startle response.. I believe there MUST be damage occurring. My Soul+ is again back at the dealer, for what the service guy said would likely be several days.. He also said he had no idea why it was malfunctioning. I believe the dealer should replace the car.. It was NOT sound when I bought it.. I dont trust driving it not knowing when it might malfunction again. If I happened to be in heavy traffic when it happens again, I could very well have an accident due to the startling nature of the event. I am paying for a brand new vehicle purchased 13 days ago, that I have driven for less than 5 days AND in Illinois. This vehicle is nearly covered by the Lemon Law.. just one more failed repair attempt and were there :(

On 07/08/2015 I was visiting my parents at their home and when it was time to leave, I told my children to go ahead and get in the car. The reason I was ok with this is because I had the keys in my hand!! I said goodbye and walked out the door not 2 minutes later, and my car was gone. My 4 year old was able to disengage the car from park and my car rolled 75 feet down hill, it finally stopped by coming to rest on a tree. During this time my 6 year old was thrown from the vehicle because he was in the process of getting in the car. He ended up with a laceration on his head and a trip to the hospital where he had to have a CT scan. Once we had the car towed up my father was able to do the same thing with the car, he disengaged it from park while the keys were not in it, his feet were also not in the car. So my car is able to come out of park without the keys and without depressing the brake. I have since found others reports of this online. This is highly unacceptable to me. We contacted the service manager at the dealership where we purchased the vehicle and he was of no help to us. I have just made a formal complaint to Kia, but who know what will come of this. To anyone who is looking to buy a Kia please check that this will not happen in your vehicle. I would hate for someone else, or someone else to get hurt.

They have had my car for a month trying to fix it. They put used starter on, made a noise then they say it was not lining up with flywheel. They order one from Kia abd, flywheel and clutch - all of this I get back for one day then radio was out then fixed it. Get it back, made it a mile from Chapman Motors and died on me. They have it again. Now order a crank sensors for it. I just do not know what to think. This has cost me 1,437 and still not fixed.

I was taking my son to the hospital. The hospital we use is about an hour away from our residence. Three deer crossed the roadway. The last deer got confused, started to run back my way so I swerved to miss it. I hit loose gravel but did not know that when I did that it had ripped the oil pan off the motor. It stuck the throttle on and brakes useless. So I had no brakes and the throttle was stuck on. The van struck the embankment head on which was steep because at the top was a railroad track. The same track AMTRAC uses. Anyway after hitting the embank the van proceeded to hit a guide wire which pressed the hood into the motor and left scratches all over the van. It spun the van around, both sides of the van were hit against the pole, wire or embankment or ditch. The van proceed to climb the embankment, no brakes with the throttle stuck. I knew the other was going to be a roll because we were at an angle. Black smoke was pouring into the van. I am scared of black smoke (I was in a house fire 3 years ago. I was the last one out and suffered 2nd/3rd degree burns. I was life lined to Springfield). I couldnt see my son. I could hear him, he would answer me, but I could not see him. At the top of the tracks I heard him say we are going to roll. I said the airbags will deploy. How wrong was I. Just by chance that last tire was hanging onto the track. There was o2 tanks in the van (because of the fire 3 years ago, I burnt my lungs... I inhaled the flame). My seat belt did not lock. I hit the steering wheel, my breasts are bruised. I have a hernia and cant find an attorney that will go up against them. MY son had to have 12 stitches in his leg. I went to the hospital by ambulance because I couldnt breathe. NONE OF THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. So much for 5 stars. MY SEAT BELT DID NOT LOCK. I HATE KIA.

First off - I bought this car not knowing that a set of 4 tires would cost me $900 or that a set of brakes would be nearly that much. The paint came off of the shifter knob almost immediately, the finish came off both the front and back emblems shortly after, and the rims scratch so easily all you have to do is THINK about a curb. That being said I DID love my car for a long time and it was very babied. Oil changed every 3k to 3.5k, but at the last oil change something happened. I have no idea what, but ever since then it has leaked oil. I took it back to the oil place twice. Both times they said it was the gasket, put a new gasket on, washed the oil off the underside of my car, and sent me on my way. STILL leaked.I then made an appointment at the Kia dealer. Well not just any mechanic can look at it, I had to have a master mechanic look at it. This involved me dropping it off on a Saturday, picking up a loaner, and then picking it back up on Monday after work. Well after $170 for the diagnostics that HAD to be done to determine the problem I was told that the oil place had not tightened the plug properly. They tightened the plug, topped off the oil, washed the underside and sent me on my way. One week later I leave for work to get a call that there is a big puddle of oil right where my car had been parked!!! So I message the dealership online saying that I can not call them - long distance calls are a no-no at work. I ask them to please have the service department call me ASAP as my car was just in but is still leaking OIL! 4 hours later NO CALL, I message again. 2 more hours later NO CALL.I am seriously at the end of my rope with all of this and here is the bit that just puts the icing on the cake... while it was in for the oil leak I decided to have tires put on (I opted to do two now for $400 instead of the whole enchilada at once). WELL I picked up my car and went on to run errands. After one stop I was walking up to my car and noticed that there was a strange and very new crinkle underneath the drivers door on the frame area. I thought how strange and decided to look at the other side... same thing!! So the only thing I can figure is that at some point during that POINTLESS service appointment they drove my car onto the lift incorrectly causing compression-like dents under my driver and front passenger doors!!! Oh and my backup camera conveniently fritzed out right around 70,000 miles - I cant remember what the exact mileage is that the stereo/navigation is no longer covered by warranty, but I do know that mine no longer is and it is $500 for a new one!! I am beyond disappointed with Kia - the car, the dealership, the customer service, all of it!!!! Boooo!

At 13,300 miles, the manual clutch went out in a 2010 KIA SOUL. KIA wont honor its warranty as the clutch is a wear and tear item. I cant imagine any clutch burning out at 13k. My last manual clutch (Jeep) had the factory clutch in it when I traded it in at 89,000 miles with no problems. When I checked online, I found out many people had clutch problems. Many with even less mileage than mine. I also found out that KIA had replaced several of the clutch parts in the following years models. I was told the front bumper was replaced before I bought pre-owned. Within a month the paint bubbled and peeled. Bolts were not put in and I am now being told I ran over something and that is why the bolts are missing. I took it back when something rattled and fell off and was shown that a piece of the bottom panel was ripped off. This happened on the freeway after the rattling started about three miles before. I told them they did not replace the bolts when they took the bumper off to paint. They insist I ran over something but only the bolts on both sides are missing. I noticed the front bumper stuck out in spots after I bought it so I know that it was never bolted properly from the beginning. They are saying that if I dont pay to replace the bottom panels they will not allow my warranty if something breaks and the paint is now peeling and bubbling AGAIN. Please forward to any other KIA Executive Team member that should be informed. We just want to share with you an extremely disappointing Customer Experience and lack of Customer Care from one of your car dealers located in Delray Beach Florida. On Saturday, July 30th my wife and I dropped by your dealer in Delray. After discussing pricing and other related information, we proceeded to sign the necessary papers for your team to prepare the loan documentation and other documents necessary for us to come the next day to pick up a car that your team said was supposedly somewhere in Florida. After various phone calls during Monday, August 1st we agreed with your team to drop by the Dealer at around 7:00 PM ET, which we did. When we arrived, for our surprise your team shared with us that the car they were expecting to be delivered to their dealership for us (a 2016 Kia Sorento white LX) was involved in an accident. The car was being drove by someone instead of being delivered in a toll platform truck to avoid precisely these type of issues. Your management team should learn from this experience. In summary, we spent hours, expected a new KIA SUV be delivered to us today Monday August 1st. For our surprise nothing was delivered to us because after such a poor Customer Experience your team was not able to deliver as expected. We shared with the Manager what we expected because of the frustrating and disappointing customer experience, and that KIA management should review our situation and at a minimum propose to us a 2017 with the same financial numbers we already discussed. Your Manager understood our frustration, but was not able to compensate us for such a bad customer experience. He proposed us a 2017 but it represented around $4K dollars more than what was already discussed and agreed to (because that was all he was able to do at this level), which is NOT ACCEPTABLE to us, that was not what we originally agreed to. They ruined our weekend, our illusions and our expectations... Is this what KIA calls Customer Satisfaction? This transaction took place on the last day of the month for your Dealer. We do not want to think that they just wanted to book the sale and once the month was over they left us hanging with the problem. If you measure your Dealers based on executed sales, then this is a mute point, but if its based on sales book, then this is a problem. I just want to make sure I bring this issue to the attention of the KIA Management team, because this the worst Customer Experience I have suffered in my lifetime. KIA lost a potential customer for life. I will make sure that I share my experience with family members, work colleagues, and in social media as well. This should have never happened. A satisfactory customer resolution should have been found immediately to this situation.

Why dont you come in and get a new lease vehicle. I stated I would not be purchasing a new vehicle. The service department is stating they dont have a loaner car for me, they want me to go almost three weeks without a vehicle. I contacted Kia Corporate and they state that they cant help, since the dealer is claiming they dont have a car they can offer as a loaner. They stated they could possibly rent me a car, but they need a manager to authorize and that takes 48 hours. Ive never heard of a car company doing warranty work on a car where the part takes 3 weeks to procure and will not offer a loaner car to drive. I recently moved to Denver, CO from Sioux City, IA. I was offered a great position at a new job here and had to accept it. I own a home in Sioux City and rented it out right away to move and start my job on December 5, 2015. Everything was going great here with the move and job and I was adjusting quickly. My brother in law and sister in law live here so having family here helped with move. The beginning of January came and my mother in law decided she wanted to visit for Christmas. My sister in law let me use her car to go pick her mother up but only after she had the oil changed on her vehicle. I also decided to have the oil changed in my 2012 Kia Sorento as driving all the miles back and forth to Iowa over the past few months with the move had put me at being due for an oil change. I planned on going to get it changed at the dealership as I had always done, but wanted/needed it done quickly, so decided to go to Jiffy Lube (#901 ran by Southwest Lubrication, Inc.) 8100 Crestline Ave Unit E-2 Littleton, CO 80123 (303) 933-9319. I went on January 8th, 2016 at 1:30 in the afternoon. They were not very busy, and were able to get me in quickly. They did their standard routine as far as letting me know what needed/should be done and their different classifications of oil changes. I chose the Signature Service as they recommended due to my vehicle being of foreign nature. I also had them replace the air filter as they recommended after showing me the old one. I was only there for about 45 minutes to an hour, it did not take them long to complete, paid for the service and was on my way. This is where things started to happen. The past few months, (November-current) my vehicle had been making a squeaking noise coming from the brakes, as they also needed to be replaced, but not to the point yet of absolutely having to have this done. On January 10th, two days after the oil change at Jiffy Lube, I noticed a noise not like the squeaking of the brakes, but more like plastic flapping or something with a belt or fan blade. I was only assuming these were what these noises could be as I have heard them before on previously owned vehicles and friends vehicles. The noise was bad up until the vehicle reached 30-40 mph or about 2 on the RPM scale in the dashboard. I drove to and from work at Advance America, which is about 6 miles from my home, so about a 12 mile round trip. I did this from January 11-13. I drove the vehicle to my sister in laws on January 14th, which is about 20 miles from my home, where it stayed parked for 24 hours while I took her vehicle to pick up her mother in Sioux Falls, SD. After I returned the next day, January 15, I picked up my vehicle and went to work where I did marketing, which involved driving my vehicle around to distribute flyers. This added an additional 50+ miles to my vehicle. January 16 I also went to work, round trip of about 12 miles. The 17th, I used my sister in law vehicle to return my mother in law home. My car sat for another 24 hours as I did this. The next day, the 18th I did not have work due to the holiday, but noticed the noise was getting worse. The evening of the 18th my brother in law had a friend come over to their home, where I was at the time, to check out my vehicle. We first started the vehicle and drove around the parking lot and down the street so he could hear the noise. My brother in laws friend is NOT a mechanic but his brother is and he has been around cars his whole life, so I thought he would be able to quickly tell what was wrong and recommend what to do. After we returned to the parking lot, we opened the hood so he could look at that and check the oil, basic things everyone does with a car. We pulled the dipstick and there was absolutely NO oil on the end. We did this a couple times to verify it was correct in showing no oil. My brother in law unscrewed the cap of where the oil filter is housed to make sure there was one, he did this only after I told him to. There was a filter but no oil really on said filter. We screwed the cap back on the filter housing and examined around everything further to notice what looked to be oil covering most everywhere under the engine in the engine compartment. At this point I/they decided that I needed to go to the dealership to have it looked at further. We added 2 quarts of oil to make sure there was enough for me to get home and then to the dealership as soon as possible. I took my vehicle to Peak Kia Littleton 5077 S Wadsworth Way Littleton, CO 80123 (303) 904-7806 and spoke with **, the service adviser there. I did this on January 20th and he recommended and said the next step would be to have a diagnostic test done. The next available time to do this was Thursday January 21st. I was there right away on Thursday morning for the test as I had to be to work by 10 am. The test took longer than expected and I called my work and this was fine with them to show up a couple hours late due to this appointment. I ended up calling into work that day because the testing took longer than expected and that was due to Kia informing me that they had looked and done everything as far as they could diagnostic wise and advised me that my engine was done for and would need to be completely replaced. I immediately thought it was something Jiffy Lube had done and called and informed them I would be looking into this further and also would be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, which I did. The complaint number is **. I have not heard anything back yet from this complaint. I was then contacted back by Jiffy Lube to get more information from me and the manager there said he was investigating this. A few hours went by and the Jiffy Lube manager called to inform me that after reviewing their tapes and speaking with the service techs, that they did nothing wrong and everything had been done correctly. I did not agree and asked for their corporate number which he gave as their location number and for his bosses contact information. This location is owned as a franchise and the franchise owner just happened to be there at this time. He got on the phone, introduced himself as Doug ** owner/operator, and I explained what was going on to him. He informed me he would do his best to help resolve this and offered to go to the Kia dealership to take a look for himself and see what he could see. He spoke with the service people at the dealership and after he was done with that, informed me that he and they had come to the conclusion that the oil was coming from somewhere other than the filter housing. I do not know much of anything about auto parts or things like this as I explained to him and he told me it was basically between Kia and I, and that it was something faulty with the vehicle, and being under warranty should be covered and fixed by Kia. At this point, I figured that it could possibly be something wrong with the vehicle itself, because since I purchased it brand new in 2012, I had been to the dealership in Sioux City, IA many times with several different issues that they fixed and replaced under warranty. I contacted the Kia dealership in Littleton, Peak Kia, and spoke with ** once again. I told him what Doug from Jiffy Lube had told me and he informed me that it was NOT something that they did and said it was something that happened with or at Jiffy Lube. I told him I wasnt saying that it was something they had just recently done, but could be something with that particular vehicle as I had had numerous things done and fixed prior to moving here. When it came down to it, he told me that it would be $345.00 for them to tear down the engine to find out what the real problem was. I already owed/owe them (Peak Kia) $115 for the diagnostic test and did not have the extra money to pay the $345 to pay to do this to either find out if was something wrong with the vehicle, then they would refund me and it would be covered by warranty, OR it would be something Jiffy Lube did and would NOT be covered by warranty and I would be out there $345 and would have to pay OVER $8000 for a new engine. I did not/do not have the $345 to pay for then engine tear down since I lost my job due to NOT having reliable transportation, a requirement of my position there. They gave me the choice of either resigning or they would have to fire me since I was still in training and was losing my means of transportation. I chose to resign on January 22nd after working half the day and discussing all of these details with my boss. ** at Kia had told me, that day, Friday the 22nd of January that my vehicle was not drivable, and if I did, my engine would definitely seize up. I have left it sitting there at the dealership since. I have been back and forth with both Jiffy Lube and Kia, have filed a complaint with the BBB, tried to go and file a small claims case but after discussing with them the cost of an engine, advised that Colorado law on small claims limits at $7500 and it will be much more to fix my vehicle not to mention my loss of employment and now I am about to be evicted because I have no income. I have tried to contact numerous lawyers and other offices for assistance on what to do and how to find an attorney, but have not gotten anywhere yet. I have been in contact with a radio talk show and have been on the air with Tom Martino, who assists in consumer affairs, and has been helpful so far, but I think I need to hire an attorney or someone to help me with this. I know this is a VERY long plea for assistance, but wanted whomever read it to be fully aware of my situation so I could get some direction on where to go from here. ANY information you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Again thank you for reading this and I hope to hear from someone soon!!

Bought new Kia Soul 2014. Very hard to see out of when I am changing lanes. The wide right rear panel block view. I have had starting problems since October 2015. I never go anywhere without my jumper cables. In November 2015 I had to leave the car at dealership for 3 days so they could try to figure out the problem. They decided I needed a new battery. I am still having starting problems. I brought the car in last month they said there is no problem. Yesterday had to have it jumped 3 times. Im disgusted.

In 2010, I brought a new Kia Forte koup. I love my car. I NEVER HAD A PROBLEM OUT OF THAT CAR. But I broke my back and could not do the low cars getting in and out of them. So I went to Kia and traded on 11-2-13 for a 2014 Kia Sorento. Well, things went down hill. 1st week, had to go back and they had to do a 4 wheel alignment. Then the door handle fell apart. Went back, had that put on, then it fell apart again. The back doors had a gap in them were you could put half your hand in them. Well, after going back every Saturday for 6 weeks, GM had me come in to change car out. But every 2014 Sorento on the lot had same problems. Then I traded for a 2013 Kia Soul. Up till now, no problem till yesterday. When am going down road and a piece of my car comes off and almost hit 2 other cars. So I have had to send this morning at the dealer again. If it was not for service lady where I go, I would have already went crazy on people. I WILL NEVER EVER BUY OTHER KIA AGAIN WHEN I TRADE THIS ONE IN!!!!!! !

Kia Rio has a rip under the passenger seat where the handle is located to move the seat. Kia calls this a beneficial feature. I call this a defect as it was not listed in the features of my car, was hidden from me, has already separated so food, liquids, bugs, whatever, can get underneath the carpet. After only three weeks, it has separated. The truth is they cheap-ed out and didnt cover it with the same protective plate they put on the Sorento and higher end models and refuse to fix it. Instead of putting a plastic plate on the Rio to protect the carpet, which has already separated and frayed, they chose to spend the money for that feature on a Sirius button that I can pay extra for. It is defective and I dont recommend purchasing a Rio. Only three weeks and already a defect! Unacceptable!

I purchased a 2013 Kia Sorento from Drivetime in October 2018. In less than a year my cars engine seized up in August 2019, due to a recall dating back to 2014. My car was towed to kia and stayed there for a month, in that time I was not offered a rental car but had to pay out of pocket for one, A bill that exceeded $1,000 not to mention I had to continue to pay the car note on a car I didnt have. I received the car back in late September and was directed to the kia.com website to file my reimbursement claim. The claim took two months to process and yet here we are in January 2020 and I still dont have the money in which I provider full documentation for. The customer service line is the worst, they seem to have little to NO KNOWLEDGE on whats going on. Its ridiculous. I wouldnt recommend this company to ANYBODY!!!

I signed up for the program. I received my credit in the amount of $ 241.07. I misfiled the card and forgot about it until I got a notice from KIA to update my current mileage, I contacted kiampginfo.com and was told the card had expired and there were no funds available. I told them the card was never used and was told that was not their problem. I was assured by KIA that a new card would be issued but the company managing the program are completely indifferent and told me that they will check but from August 18, 2014 to today September 15, 2014 not one word or any help of any kind. I called again and was told they had no record of any claim and will start a claim. It will take about 10 days. If any of you have had a similar experience, I wish you well. Thanks for your time.

I purchased a 2014 Kia Soul Base from Halleen Kia in North Olmsted Ohio and recently received a recall notice from Kia concerning a Pinion Gear issue that could result in a crash because the plug that was adhered at manufacturing was done incorrectly. I promptly called halleen to set an appointment because I happened to have the day off and received a recall notice. I called to set an appointment and was told that they could not get me into service until next week. I was then told that this is only a problem as the car ages (which is very concerning since I recently switched from Toyota to Kia and I was a loyal Toyota owner for many many many years and this is a concern because I tend to keep cars for 8-9 years and over 100K miles)... I hope I have not made a bad purchase in purchasing a Kia and making the switch... In the past the Halleen Kia departments have been A-1. I hope this is an isolated issue and I hope that service will continue to be 5 Star.

The passenger light would remain at the on position when a 130-lb. passenger is seated. The dealership, after three attempts to have it corrected, stated that the car system is not at fault. I was advised that the passenger should buy a lumbar support to move the passenger further into the seating area and that the passenger should not cross legs. This would result into safety issues if involved in a crash.

2013 Kia Optima Recall: My car was checked and determined to have the issue with metal shavings in the engine. They have arranged for an immediate loaner - even though they do not know when they will have an engine for me. I asked them what the new warranty will be for this new engine and I cant get a clear answer. Will it be the full 100,000 miles which only seems fair? They said they had heard that it might be and extra 20,000 to 50,000 on top of the original warranty. I would have thought that they would have had that detail worked out by now.

I bought a new KIA Rondo in Aug 09. It had powered mirrors on the sun visor. It was hardly used on the first year. Later, when my wife started using them on the co-drivers side, they got hard and started cracking. Within six months, it cracked and become inoperable. Later, when I tried my side, first thing I observed was that they were already repaired with glue and when I started operating them more often, that one also broke like a crispy wafer. When I complained about this to Southtown Kia in Edmonton South, they refused to replace it. They said its not covered by warranty and asked me to call customer experience department at 1-877 542 2886, who said that they cannot do anything and talk to service again. Now they are passing the ball to each other and nothing is done.

Purchased a 2011 Kia Sorrento brand new (less than 100 miles on it) in August of 2014. Went to bring it in for a simple camera replacement that would be covered under the 5 year/60k warranty, only to find out that the warranty started back in 2011 when the car was placed on the lot. So by the time I purchased the car, there were only 2 years left of the warranty unbeknownst to me (even though they sold me the car as new --certainly not a demo). Conveniently no one is able to resolve this issue -- hitting a wall with kiaconsumeraffairs, and the dealership is just not helpful altogether. This is my second Kia, and will now be my last. A lot of headache over a quick repair. Curious if all dealerships do this to lessen the chance of someone making a claim under the warranties -- have them all start prior to the car being sold.

We bought a Kia Sorento and financed through Kia.... HUGE MISTAKE! This company is absolutely horrible to work with... We traded our Kia for a different vehicle in February. The Kia was paid off via the new dealership... BUT Kia has called us 3 and 4 times a day trying to collect on a vehicle that we no longer own. We have spoke to several people at Kia giving them the payoff information and at the end of each call they still ask for payment.... YES... They ask for payment for a vehicle that we no longer own. There is a time lapse on Kia from payoff to their collection department. These people are awful to work with. For a month they call us numerous times a day....even after giving them proof of payoff! Our Kia was a good vehicle.... Just do not finance through Kia financial. I wont ever buy another Kia just for that reason! Horrible, Horrible Customer Service!!!!

I loved my vehicle when I bought her, she was pre-owned but very well looked after, one of the reasons why I bought her. A couple of months after buying the vehicle, one of my tenants, who I did not know worked for a Kia dealership, came over to me and asked if she could give me a piece of good advice. Sure, I said, always open to good advice. Little did I know that the advice she gave me would turn out to be the best advice I never took. She told me to sell the Kia Sorento because it was going to give me endless trouble. Since she told me I have replaced a gear box oil seal, cylinder head gasket, radiator water bottle (took Kia month and a half to get me a replacement water bottle), 2 radiator water hoses, radiator, crankshaft pulley bolt, and most recently a thermostat, where again Kia took 6 weeks to find me a spare. Like I said, I love the vehicle, but I will never buy another Kia as long as I live.

Recently our daughter left the overhead and parking lights on overnight, draining the battery. Normally that would not have been a big deal. However, the car was parked in a carport and COULD NOT be moved out of it to get a jump start because the car could NOT be taken out of Park into Neutral!!! It took about a dozen calls to find a service station that had a portable jump system to come out and get the 2014 Kia Sorento started, causing my wife to miss a doctors appointment.

KIA agreed to fix my car which is presumably under warranty. We agreed that they will cover the parts and I will cover the labor at $1,250. After doing the repairs, they are now saying that they will not honor the warranty! This is on top of the disappointment I have had with KIA. I still owe $1,661 on the vehicle and I am so frustrated that they are pulling this! I would have never agreed to having them repair the car, had they not agreed to honor the warranty, as I had a mechanic who is willing to do it at a much more reasonable cost!KIA is a rip off. They are crooks and are not trustworthy! My lawyer will be handling the matter from today; however, this still leaves me without transportation! Today, I will drop one of my classes that require me to travel to a distant campus for lack of transportation. I will most likely lose my job. And in the meantime, my car will sit at the KIA dealership because KIA will not honor the agreement they had with me! Shame, shame, I know your name! The magnet I just ordered to place on my car is in the shape of a lemon and it reads: Ask Me About My Lemon. Its a KIA, dude! Although it will be a while before I am able to drive my 2006 KIA Rio again, I will proudly sport it around town with my new bright yellow accessory added to its both sides. Never would I ever recommend a KIA to anyone I meet! I will tell everyone I know to never ever consider owning a KIA! Lets boycott KIA! I will post on my Facebook account and in other sites, put signs in my yard and give bumper stickers to all of my friends--whatever it takes to make people aware!

I just purchased my new Kia Soul mid-2012. It was disappointing enough that the promised MPG was far off from what was advertised. I did purchase the vehicle because of the purposed fuel ratings that were high. Obviously that did not happen for me and thousands of other consumers! But on to my other problem. My vehicle smells like mold! I took my car in for the oil change and also let them know of the odor. The service rep said they would check it out. I waited for my vehicle and when I went to check out, the rep told me they sprayed the vehicle hose where the a/c unit was with some type of freshener. He showed me a can that blasts the product through the hose. They proceeded to let me know that other people had complained of the same issue. I asked what caused this, he said from the a/c unit, rain, and parking under trees! What?! Its a faulty design from the a/c drain line! He stated I needed to change the filter which is located behind the glove compartment about every year to prevent the smell from coming back at a rate of $150! Are you kidding? Why do I have to pay for a defect in the lines for the a/c unit? He said thats just the way it is. He did say that they take care of it the first time. If its an issue, then just take care of the problem, forever. Only a few weeks have passed and the smell is back. The crazy thing is I got bronchitis and cant seem to get over it! Ive never had an issue with this in the past. I wonder if my car is a factor?! We all know mold is hazardous to peoples health and it can cause all types of serious health issues. Im just saying?! Im not sure what to do at this point. I cant afford $150 every few months to have the filter changed. Its just crazy to me.

My daughter was driving a 2005 Kia Sorento on the freeway when you got off an exit and just when she did she lost power steering, brake light and oil light went on. Luckily she had just got off the freeway or it could have been a very bad outcome. I am trying to find anyone who may have had a problem with this during the 2017 year (but missed the class action suit). I called Kia consumer line and they were nice at first. As soon the a case manager got my case, she completely back peddled and told me not only do I have to tow it, I have to pay for the diagnostics as well and probably to fix it too since its passed the warranty.I cant find a recall on the crank shaft pulley but I heard there was a voluntary recall. If anyone received a letter from Kia about the crank shaft bolt or anything similar for their Kia Sorento please let me know. I need something to hold them accountable. Just like many other forums Ive seen, they are washing their hands off it. Also willing to start a lawsuit with others as well.

The Kia Rio is like a go kart and it bumps every bump. The tires were small and I feel if I was in an accident I would not be safe. The seat absorbed stains I could not get out and the radio broke early on about 30,000 miles. The spark plugs needed to be fixed and even though it had a 100,000 mile guarantee, no one honored it and they were all KIA dealers. I would bring it in when it had problems and they would fix it but they said I had to apply for a reimbursement or they didnt cover it. The dealers were absolute impolite morons. I brought the car twice to them and they danced around the issue and I felt humiliated for taking it back to no avail. Apparently the guarantee cost a lot too. Its 12,000 when the car had 35,000 miles. I was treated so unfair and I wish I could get the 2000 I paid for the guarantee back. What a rip off and for this reason I will not rebuy a KIA. But I gave it a high rating because after my son fixed the cracked spark plug encasement and replaced the plugs it always started up. It even went across country.

Unfortunately I have had an extremely bad experience with Kia cars. Ive bought 2 new Kia cars recently (64 and 67 plates) and have had nothing but trouble. The car I have at present (Picanto) had its 30,000 mile service last week only to find out that the tyre pressure settings had been set either by the main dealers technicians or at manufacture by Kia at a dangerously low level meaning no warning signal in the inbuilt computer alighted to tell me it was being driven underinflated. The upshot of this is that both front tyres are at a dangerous level and both Kia and the main dealers, JCB Ebbsfleet, will not take responsibility for their error. I completed a complaints form with both Kia and the main dealer at JCB Ebbsfleet and after 8 days I was still not contacted in any way. I followed up today and was told its not their problem and they have no interest in it.They have left me with a car which is a potential death trap and have no interest in putting their errors right. BEWARE!!!! They sell you are car but after that youre on your own, after sales care is nonexistent, their complaints procedure is an absolute joke. Needless to say I will never buy another Kia and certainly not through JCB Ebbsfleet Kia dealership who have really been shown up to be very poor and extremely unprofessional.

I have owned 2 Kia Souls in the past 4 years. The first car had some paint problems in that a lot of chipping was going on and not only around the wheels. There was paint chipping on the sides and at the top of the roof. We dont live on a gravel road nor do we drive on any gravel roads, when I took the car in for this, keeping in mind that this is the 2010 model with 83000 km. The dealership took some pictures and sent them in to Kia for the ok to go ahead and fix the problem. Kia gave them the go ahead and we got our car repainted. The new paint on the car was considerably better, in fact we had no real chipping and as the body guy said it was because there was actually some paint on the car.We traded this car in for a 2012 Kia Soul and now are facing the same problem. The difference is that I actually installed mud flaps on this car when I got it home and it is worse than the first car, in fact at the back wheel there is no paint at all and the car has surface rust developing on about a 4 area. Showing this to the dealer, they went through the same procedure of taking pictures and submitting them to Kia, this time the verdict was different. They are not going to cover the paint work. They are not going to paint the car. I have called Kia Customer service and awaiting a call back.
