This is my second Kia Soul! I love the cars performance and the 10 year, 100,000 mile warranty (The best in the business)! That being said, several weeks ago, while driving northbound on the Interstate 5 freeway in densely automobile populated rush hour traffic, I got a flat tire. No big deal. That happens! What doesnt happen is calling Triple A and NOT FINDING A SPARE TIRE in the trunk upon the servicemans arrival! The serviceman was very accommodating. He explained that several years ago, spare tires were omitted as standard equipment (especially in small cars) to improve gas mileage (less weight equals increases fuel efficiency). My last Kia Soul was year 2011 so I didnt know there was no spare in the new models. Oh, by the way, I bought my Kia Soul from Alhambra Kia, Kia of Alhambra! NEVER BUY A CAR FROM THAT DEALERSHIP! Their customer service is absolutely horrible! In my hour of need, I called the dealership to ask why I had not been informed that there was no spare tire in my trunk and I was transferred to an answering machine! I left a message, but NO ONE EVER CALLED BACK!Anyway, I then called the national Kia Roadside Assistance Center where I spoke to an excellent receptionist whose goal was to serve my needs! She referred me to Downtown LA Kia. THIS IS ANOTHER KIA DEALERSHIP YOU SHOULD NEVER EXPECT PROPER SERVICE FROM! The national receptionist said changing the new tire I had bought elsewhere would be free! According to Downtown LA Kia, the service charge was $25. No big deal! EXCEPT FOR THE PRINCIPAL INVOLVED! I had already experienced a potentially traumatic event due to the companys negligence and now, I was just looking for someone, anyone from Kia to offer some form, any form of customer satisfaction! NO ONE SATISFIED MY NEEDS! The next day, I visited KIA OF ALHAMBRA and the manager apologized but HE DIDNT MAKE ME HAPPY! As result, I will never buy another Kia automobile! And I will never ever, never ever never buy a car from Kia of Alhambra!

Today I paid Kia for 2019 property taxes of a vehicle I do not own since August 31, 2018 when I traded it for a new Toyota car. I tried everything to clarify the issue but they just decided to send the tax assessment to a collection company. I moved from Ma to IL, changed plates, sold the car in 2018, etc and the still kept charging me property taxes for the vehicle. Before this, I had multiple issues with the Kia financing department to the point that I had to get the general manager of the Kia dealer in Massachusetts to fix the issues with finance. Kia Sportage is one of the best cars I ever owned but I will never deal with Kia again due to the ineptitude of their Financial Dept.

I have only had my car for about 4 year and a couple months. I keep up with maintenance and everything. Recently, my car has been shaking, stalling and the wheel drifts to the right. It has got to the point where I do not even wanna drive this car. I brought my car to Kia and they quoted me $150 for something that needs to be replaced and told me that my tires are causing the wheel to act like it does. I still have a warranty for the car and they did not fix or replace anything. There are more problems to this car that I am not aware of. I was looking to keep this car for another two years, but looks like now I am going to have to trade it in. I a bit disappointed with Kia, I did not think I would run into so many problems so soon in the game.

I purchased a Kia Spectra from Enterprise Car Sales in Rockville Center NY. The first week of purchase, the car died. I come to find out it was the alternator. Enterprise/Kia Auto World at 2520 Hempstead Tpke East Meadow NY 11554 (mechanic: Rich; contact person: Jamie), replaced the alternator. Nine months later, the alternator goes again. The car was taken to Hillside Kia 153 12 Hillside Ave., Jamaica NY 11432. THEY replaced the alternator. Nine months later, the alternator went again and I took the car to a mechanic on Merrick Blvd. on 109 St. Jamaica, NY because it was out of the warranty and AGAIN the alternator was replaced. Today 8/23/11, the alternator went again. I felt that the car that was sold to me from the start was a lemon and I was looking to pay this car off BUT now i feel that I have been taken advantaged of as a consumer and I am looking for assistance as a consumer from your agency.

Disappointed customer. I thought I was making a smart choice when I bought my used 2011 Kia Sorrento (Liberty Ford) boy was I wrong. The reason for the purchase I needed a reliable car as I drive 500 miles a week from home to work and with Kia having a 10 year 100k mile warranty and the car only having 70k miles on was to me at the time a no brainer. I had the car a little over a year and the engine went. I did purchase the extended warranty from Liberty but because it was a Kia they could not work on it and sent it to Bedford Kia for inspection. After numerous phone calls and even an in-person visit, they had my car for 52 days before it was fixed and returned to me. They put in a new/used engine that had at the time 65k miles on it so I thought once again I was in good shape, well I was wrong again. This engine lasted 11 months and 22k miles and because I was over the miles, I was told in not so many words - sucks to be you right now, you will have to foot this bill. I also want to note this engine quit on me as I was slowing down for an accident that was on the freeway. I was going about 60mph at the time, tapped the brakes to slow down and the engine quit. I had to limp the car from the high speed lane to the berm with no power, it was a very dangerous situation at the time. I am just trying to understand as a customer that had 2 bad engines where the accountability as a manufacturer is? I do understand warranties but all I was looking for was someone to say we understand and give me some kind of help. I wasn’t looking for Kia to pay the entire bill but 2 engine failures engines that only made it to around 80k that were not my fault some help would have been nice. All toll right now I have around $6.200 invested back in a car I only paid $7,400 for. As a single father of 6 working 2 jobs this was a bill I did not need. With all this being said I would like to thank my mechanic at Done-Rite Auto who treated me as a person first and a customer second by cutting his price on labor and parts and had the car fixed in 3 days as opposed to the 52 it took Kia to fix it.

I own a 2014 Kia Sorento, and I love all the staff at the dealership where I have my car serviced however I will never purchase another Kia again. My car has just over 100K miles so I am out of my warranty. On 4/7/20 my left wheel speed sensor failed costing me $657.35. Then, (16) sixteen days later on 4/23/20 my fuel tank sensor failed, costing me $463.61. Then, on 5/6/20 my right wheel speed sensor failed cost me $513.32. In less than 30 days I spent almost $1700 on repairs. These sensors should not have failed like this. I have owned numerous cars and I have NEVER had any of these issues. Kia has a long history with these same wheel speed sensors failing specifically in the Sorentos and Sedona models. After many recalls on earlier models, now they only fail after the car reaches 100k.Kia advises me today that there is absolutely nothing they can do to help offset the cost of their failing parts. I was advised by the young lad on the phone that parts don’t last forever and cars need to repaired at times and that’s just how it is. Kia is a total disappointment and should be ashamed in how they treat their customers. Kia has been priding itself on how they have helped out during the pandemic, however their faulty parts put their employees, customers and me at risk on 3 separate occasions.

2008 Sorento - Kia is just trying to wait me out on the warranty! I had it in four times on two different dealers. They replaced the hub but not the compressor and thats what is bad. Im within 6,000 of the end of the warranty. I have no doubt after reading all the other complaints about this year and the A/C problem that once Im over the 60,000, then they will say it needs to be replaced. I will never buy another Kia. A warranty is only as good as what they will back up and how well they honor it!

KIA is by far the worst company to deal with. The vehicles are horrible, and their warranty is a scam. I have had issues with my KIA Stinger since day one, and it has been nothing but fight after fight to get warranty work done. I have had 3 dealerships and multiple reps at their so called Premium Care division. The reps at corporate are all rude, and act as if they are doing you a favor. They do not care that the car has issues, and blame the dealers. I have had to get the Attorney Generals office involved with a consumer fraud case as well. Do yourself a favor and stay away from KIA. Their vehicles look good on paper, but they are cheaply made and will have many issues.I purchased 2 new 2018 vehicles, both the top of the line KIA has to offer, and they are nothing but trouble. One issues after another. We have a Honda CRV that is 4 years old and has never had to make a visit to the dealer for an issue. Better to have a shorter warranty on a reliable car, than to have to have the car at the dealer every week. As of this writing, my car has been at the dealer for service for 70 days and counting. They still have no idea how to fix the issue. And all this time I am expected to continue to make payments while not having a car for over 2 months. Please do yourself a favor and do not buy KIA. Just do a little research and you will see all the issues these vehicles have. I wish I had done better research before purchasing.

My experience with Kia Roadside Assistance has been a very positive one so far. If I need any type of roadside assistance, I give Kia Roadside Assistance a call or I use the app that is on my phone and begin whats needed to get the wheels turning as to me getting taken care of. Every time I have called Kia Roadside Assistance its usually concerning a battery dead issue. Someone from Kia Roadside takes my information and sends someone out right away to give me assistance. The wait for the technician sent out by Kia Roadside Assistance is never a long wait. The technician from Kia Roadside Assistance is usually kind and straightforward offering help and then solving the problem in what I feel is record time. So, based on my experiences with Kia Roadside Assistance this last year and a half Im well pleased.

I bought a Kia Rio in 2003. I was the first owner with 1,000 miles on it. It was on clearance. I didn’t need an extra car, but the price was too good to be true. 3 months after the purchase, it was still under the famous 100,000-mile guarantee. The A/C stopped working. I took it back. They fixed it. 8 months later, the A/C stopped working again. They fixed it. 2 to 3 months later, the A/C stopped working again along with the driver lock. They fixed both. This time, I told them that I didnt want the car no more. It was too much hassle and I needed a reliable car because my older car got totaled in an accident. This time, they got a brand new AC compressor. It worked for a year. The dealer told me the new compressor had its own guarantee. I told them I wanted to exchange it for different car. He said if it didn’t work, they will do it. They were very nice, so I trusted them. Less than a year later, the AC and car locked again. I took it back. I had enough. This time, they said: Were sorry to inform you. But if you would had come before last week, we could it replace it. But your guarantee on your A/C just expired. Now Im stuck with this piece of **! I keep advising my friends never to buy a Kia ever.

I bought a new 2015 Kia soul in January and now in April with less than 5k, the AC went out. I took it into the dealership only to be told a rock hit the condenser. The service guy tells me that it is not covered on the warranty and that it will be around 900 to fix... The strange part is... that I looked online for my own part, and I found a forum where there are almost 100 complaints of a phantom rock hitting condensers all over the US. I talked to the General Manager and I talked with corporate and there was nothing that could be done on their part... My lawyer will now have to take matters into his own hands.

I was at your website, OxenDaleForThePeople.com and it sent me here. I am sad to say that after sending you a letter about a bad deal we received from your Prescott Valley dealership, we gave them another try and got yet another bad car! On Saturday, August 4th, we bought a Kia Rio. On Monday, August 6th, I was stranded on the side of the road in Phoenix in an area I had never been before with a dead car. As it turned out, the engine seized. After having 2 more engines put in it - both of which either seized or didnt drive above 40 mph - we still have no vehicle. After asking to have our money and car back, we were blown off and told that the warranty company was providing us with a rental. We dont want a rental. We simply want this nightmare to be over so that we can find a reliable and trustworthy vehicle from a trustworthy dealership. I would like to get this resolved and have a happy outcome for everyone. As a teacher, I do not have a lot of money and definitely do not have any extra money! Buying that car used my entire savings and I have nothing in return except for another bad experience at your dealership. I will never buy or allow anyone I know to buy from this company again, ever! They tell you in the commercials that they inspect every vehicle. We now know it is to make sure a customer can drive it off the lot so they can pass it off to them and say, too late, its yours!

Less than impressed with this company and severely aggravated and disgusted. The Kia experience in general has really gone downhill in the past 10 years, but after my last purchase, it will be my last and I wish I could go back in time. From sales to service to Kias consumer affairs, everyone dropped the ball and rate a huge FAIL.Kia Consumer Affairs used to be a last line of sanity and a place to go where you could get help; now theyre just people who act like they are doing something, but ultimately just ignore you and never follow up or follow through. As others have said, watch the numbers closely in Finance because they will try to add things without asking. My last experience turned me so sour Ill probably get rid of this brand new 2021 car that is riddled with computer bugs and subpar paint before its even six months old. The car will start falling apart after the first year anyway. Terrible company with a terrible internal culture in how they deal with customers and they are turning out cheap vehicles.

I purchased a 2013 Kia Sorento 22 months ago. Driving a few days ago, the vehicle started making a very old noise, then a huge bang. Stop and the car hasnt moved since. No check engine light... no low oil like... no indication that anything was going wrong. I kept all maintenance and upkeep records. I had a log on the oil changes since my dad did them regularly. The engine locked up, Kia wants 6,500 dollars to replace. I purchased the extended warranty, the warranty company will not honor since the oil changes were not performed at a shop. Im on a very difficult place being I still owe on car and dont have 6500 dollars laying around to buy another motor... this is a known problem and they are doing nothing to fix it!! I have the warranty and they refuse to cover since my dad did the oil changes. They told me they dont have proof my dad actually physically put the oil in my car so they refuse to approve the repairs!!! This warranty coverage was not cheap either. I dont know what to do, Im a single mom, no reliable transportation to work now. Dont buy a Kia!!!

We have been trying to return a leased vehicle since December! We have had the run around for months. And its still not complete. Every time I call I get transferred and left on hold for a minimum of 30 minutes before talking to someone long enough to be transferred again only to be hung up on in the end. They told us that the final bill was in the mail about a month ago. We kept getting calls that we were past due (several a day). When I called the lease end again (after several transfers) I was told to disregard the calls and that our final bill was in the mail and would arrive in 1-2 weeks. We continued to receive phone calls about missing payments. My husband ended up calling and after 2 hours of transfers he finally was told that they wont process it until the vehicle is resold? What? At no point did anyone ever mention this tidbit of info. I am disappointed because I loved my Kia, but now because of this experience I will never deal with Kia anything again!

On 11/25/18 I purchased a vehicle from KIA of Irvine. They totally scammed me on the service and maintenance contracts and also the theft deterrent on the car. They went as far as to fraudulently forged my signatures on the maintenance and service contracts. Those two added up to $4000.00, they also snuck in $1495.00 for the theft. So a total of $5495.00 added to my contract without my knowledge of it. The people that work in finance are nothing less than thieves and liars. None. And for you people that work in sales your hands arent clean either. You might not be directly involved in the fraud and the Payment Packing that is being used in finance, all of you most definitely are aware of whats going on over there in finance. When you guys forged my signature on those two contracts, you then submitted them for payment and then received payment for them. That is fraud!! And I am 100% convinced that the owner of this dealership has got to be aware of the practices being used there to commit fraud to scam their customers out of money. HE KNOWS. Every one in sales and finance are all thiefs and I assure you, that you will get what you have coming.

I am currently in my third lease with Kia and up until now would have remained a loyal customer. I lease a 2016 Kia Soul. It broke down on the highway with 35,000 miles. I get it taken to Kia of Bedford. That whole experience was awful (Kia Roadside Assistance stinks) I am told that I some type of rodent had been eating wires in my car causing extensive damage and it was not a warranty or Kia issue that I would pay out of pocket. Meanwhile I google this and find Kia uses soy based wire covering which attracts rodents. Kia still will not accept responsibility. I file a car insurance claim. Kia has my car for a MONTH! They never had parts in stock, and kept finding new things wrong with my car. I had to call for updates. I found the people working in the service department to be rude, and very cold hearted to the need of the customer. I filed two separate claims with Kia Consumer Affairs because I thought at the least I deserved to be reimbursed my car payment for the month I paid and did not drive my vehicle. They do not respond to phone calls or emails. Basically blow you off. My case was escalated to a Steven ** who called me once to say he needed paperwork that I had already emailed him and hasnt responded to a phone call or email since. I sent letters to the executive team and no response. Kia is a joke. They dont care about the customer. They dont care about keeping customers. And they sell piece of ** cars that you get stuck with and they dont feel bad or care about that either. If you want a good, reliable car, good customer service from a business that cares DO NOT GO TO KIA! Kia just wants your money-but they will not provide any kind of good service to earn it. Run, run, run to any other dealership but a Kia dealership.

I own a 2009 Kia Spectra and at 26,800 miles my transmission had to be replaced. At 82,200 miles, the 2nd transmission had to be replaced. This will be the 3rd transmission in 3 years. When I contacted the service manager of Kia of East Syracuse, he told me that headquarters will need to see the receipt for the transmission flush that should have been done at 30,000 miles. I mentioned to the manager that I thought it was at 60,000 miles? He stated that in areas where there are extreme conditions; i.e.; New York, a flush needs to be done every 30,000. I spoke to my mechanic and a number of people who are knowledgeable of automobiles stated that this is preposterous. I reviewed the manual and noticed that a flush wasnt needed until 105,000 miles for an automatic transmission. Secondly, the current transmission technically only has 57,000 miles. Since when do transmissions life expectancy only last less than 60,000? The dealership that I purchased the vehicle at is refusing to cover this under warranty. Headquarters is hemming and hawing about this and I still await their decision. As a result, I continue to be without a vehicle.

Kia has advised me recently that they had overstated the fuel economy ratin
Kia has advised me recently that they had overstated the fuel economy ratings for the 2012 Kia Sorento that I purchased for my wife Barbara earlier this year. This is very disappointing to us as we bought this vehicle primarily based on the EPA mileage estimate on the window sticker. It is now obvious that we were deliberately misled by KIA. We feel like fools! Kia has proposed lowering the mileage estimate on our 2012 Sorento, only 1-2 mpg from 22/32mpg to 21/30mpg. Based on my experience, this is not enough. We are getting only about 25-27mpg highway and have done a lot of that type of driving since we bought the vehicle last spring. Reimbursing us for a 1-2mpg difference is woefully inadequate. If we knew that 26mpg highway was all we were going to get, we would never have purchased this vehicle in the first place.Every time we complained about the mileage disappointment, we were told by many different KIA personnel that we hadnt driven enough miles. Need to break in the engine and drive about 5,000 miles to realize the higher numbers, they said. Then when we passed 5,000 miles and didnt get the promised mileage numbers, they moved the bar and told us to drive 10,000 miles. Now we are at 13,000+ miles and still getting only about 26mpg hwy. This suggests a systemic issue where the entire Kia organization was involved in the cover up. The projected reimbursement of 1-2mpg for the difference between the EPA estimate and new EPA estimate does not come anywhere near making up for the difference between the promised 32mpg highway versus the 26mpg that we are getting. We are only experiencing 18mpg city and 26mpg highway, which is significantly less than the revised estimates of 21/30mpg. The proposed compensation for the additional fuel costs incurred based on 1-2mpg is insufficient and should be 3-4mpg higher. If Kia is truly committed to compensating affected owners fairly, for the unexpected fuel costs resulting from this lower fuel economy experience, they need to do more than this. As someone who spent over 30 years in the customer relations activities, I believe Kia will have 900,000 unhappy former customers who will do long lasting damage to the Kia/Hyundai brands. If Kia truly values its owners, they need to do more to make this right with them. This was the first Kia that we have ever purchased. Based on the way we feel, we will never consider buying another Kia or Hyundai product again.A car owner should have a special relationship with his vehicle. Being pleased at how it looks when he approaches the vehicle and fully satiated with how it performs when he is behind the wheel. However, every day when I drive our Sorento and watch the mpg readout on my dashboard consistently running 3-4mpg less than the revised estimates, I am overcome with feelings of buyers remorse and I feel deceived all over again. In addition, the proposed remedy does not address the negative impact on the value of our Sorento. Right now we feel duped, would never buy another Kia or Hyundai vehicle again and will tell everyone we know that they should not ever trust what Kia or Hyundai says.If Kia really wanted to build long term, trust-based relationships where customer satisfaction is central to their business, they would increase the proposed compensation. Apologies and regret wont cut it. I have significant regret at purchasing my first Kia product. If Kia is fully committed to doing everything to resolve this problem and want to make things right for those affected, increase our compensation.

Why did my valve stem for my 2010 Kia Soul break? This will cost me $200.00
Why did my valve stem for my 2010 Kia Soul break? This will cost me $200.00 to replace. I love driving my little Kia. I was told Montgomery Kia/Chevrolet Preston Hwy Louisville KY personnel that, it is not covered under bumper to bumper warranty. They said that it is manufacturing defect and it was not broken by them. The stem is not covered by the warranty. A reason why it broke is that a long stem air hose chuck was used to replace the air. Individuals wiggling the long extension air chuck can bend and break off the computerized air valve. I believe in keeping good air pressure in my tires saves gas and tire wear. I believe that whether I had used or service attendant had used a shorted air stem chuck on this valve stem to this tire. It still would have broken off. And when the air hose extension chuck used on this tire, air hose was removed for air stem of this tire, the stem came with the extension chuck. This tire on the driver side front has several times registered air pressure was low on my dash lights the last six months. The tires on vehicles sometime lose air pressure. The weather changes from normal temperatures to lower cold temperatures.I was told by one of Montgomery Kia technicians that this is manufacturing defect of the company that makes this computerized valve air stem. While I was making an appointment with the dealership to replace the defective stem, the air stem on this tire had lost air pressure while my Kia Soul was in motion on the highway. This would be considered a blow out. As my Kia Soul was sitting still, the tire went flat immediately.I have very good records of service done on my Kia, which all recommends service checks have been done at Montgomery Kia. The manufacture defective valve stem broke and deflated at car service station. I had them replace the air stem with regular valve stem, which since 2008 most vehicles have this feature letting you know when tire pressure is low. This is a very good feature on my Kia. By the way, if anyone has a Hyundai 2008-2012, you have the same computerized valve stems in your tires like mine. Valve stem on a tire before 2008, you basically had to rip up the metal rim of a tire or unscrew the core of valve stem out for a tire to go flat, not because the valve stems were manufactured with defect parts. The computerized valve stem to me has alloyed (metal) fatigued. I believe in safe lighter vehicles, but you need dependable tires, rims and valve stems on the vehicles. If your engine blow-up, you will come to a rolling stop. If your computerized valve stems break on one your tires, you may be in an accident. If this manufacturing defect from a company that produced this computerized valve stem to me, should this be a recall from Kia. How many vehicles that are on the road that this company manufacturing defective computerized valve stems? How many Fords, Chevrolets, Hondas, Toyotas and Kia on the road today?

In December 2014, I was seriously injured (including a broken back...) in a 2015 KIA SORENTO during a frontal crash because the car malfunctioned. Upon impact, none of the airbags deployed and duly filed my complaint with NHTSA. After my complaint, there were 3 others filed with the most recent being March 2016 where another person got injured because the airbag DID NOT DEPLOY. Even though the IIHS (Insurance Institute of Highway Safety) identified this problem as well as potential injuries to the driver during its SMALL OVERLAY CRASH TEST - THE MANUFACTURER (KIA) still FAILED to conduct necessary defect investigation and recall on all existing 2014/2015 KIA Sorento models that have this defect which creates and heightens the risk of potential dangerous injuries because few consumers are aware of this as NHTSA gives the 2015 KIA SORENTO a five-star rating on a test that was conducted in 2013 because both the 2014 and 2015 models were in fact, almost identical WITH minimal changes.Due to the IIHS crash test results and POOR rating the 2014/2015 KIA SORENTO models the manufacturer received, it went to address these problems by redesigning the 2016 Sorento without notifying or identifying or repairing the defects in those defective vehicles currently out in the market. IT IS ALSO EXTREMELY NEGLIGENT AND IRRESPONSIBLE OF NHTSA TO POST AN ERRONEOUS 5-STAR RATING ON A POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS VEHICLE.

On July 19, 2012, I purchased a 2013 Kia Sorento from Riverchase Kia, 2200 Pelham Parkway, Pelham, AL 35124. I shopped this vehicle on their website. I wrote the VIN, stock number, color, and price down on my pad. When I got to the lot, I found the vehicle. During negotiation, I was told if they honored the website price, they could not let me take advantage of the $5000 pull-in/drag-in trade that they advertised on television. I was told by the salesman and the finance person there was no rebate on the 2013 models Sorentos. During closing of my vehicle, I noticed $5000 trade was made up of $3500 trade plus a $1500 rebate. They told me the manufacturer would not allow the dealer do both. If this is true, they need to express this writing on their website as well as on their TV commercials. All this brings to the question of truth in advertising. Please address this, I feel somewhat cheated. You have a product that can stand on its own, Dont taint it with deceiving advertising practices.

I traded in 2012 Kia Soul for a 2015 Kia Soul Plus. I got the car in June and I have been listening to the 3 month free promotion of Sirius Radio. I did not even notice that my new Kia has no CD player, until the other day when I went to put in a CD. I was completely shocked. My 2012 Kia did have it and I thought that the CD player was standard. I was not told when I leased this new 2015 Kia that there was no CD player. I feel that the salesman should have pointed that out to me. I am extremely disappointed and now I am looking through stores to see if I can buy a portable one to put in my car. I understand that changes are sometimes made, but a change like this should have been brought to my attention when I leased this car. This is a feature, for me, that is very important.

Got this car in a lease in 2017 from a very bad Kia dealership in Fort Walton Beach Florida. Continuously kept up with oil changes. The rear tail light on the driver side malfunctioned or I had to replace it twice because the seal was not staying sealed. Then I’d PCS to Hawaii 105 thousand miles. And with no notification the car stops running. Take it to the dealership and they said, Oh well I’m sorry. You’re 5000 miles over the warranty. So there’s nothing that I can do. It’s $15,000 for a new motor. Very discouraging From dealership and Kia consumer affairs. Do not buy any Kia vehicles.

Didn’t want to get hit with a high bill at the end of lease. So 3 years go by I return my lease. Get my cost $750 end of lease fees. Which would have been fine if the dealership didn’t pocket the $449. They never purchased the coverage. When I called the company to file my claim. The paperwork & brochures were from. They said they never worked with Kia of West Nyack. WOW bunch of crooks! They were selling the dealership & knew I wouldn’t know until 3 years later. This company didn’t make it right. Which tells me a lot about How they care about their customers. All I asked was for $250 of additional cost. The other monies I would have had to pay regardless. Don’t buy Kia!!!!

Had to replace all the struts and tires. Switched dealers. At 60,000 miles, the car started to have major electrical problems. Second dealer was worse than the first, changed battery and radio unit. Kept coming up with thousands in expenses. Finally, I told them to replace the starter and the car worked again. I cannot wait to get rid of the car ASAP. Never again will I purchase a Kia since the warranty is worthless.

Kia Motors wanted to charge me $470 to replace a timing belt on my auto. I refused and, two months later, my engine was destroyed. Kia stated I violated my warranty and failed to honor its Powertrain Warranty. It was brought out in litigation that the timing belt was covered and that Kia Motors has a conflict between their warranty and their required maintenance schedule. The issue that really needs to be addressed here is that the courts are allowing Kia Motors to enforce a limited liability clause to limit the damages in a lawsuit, but the clause the judges are using is not a clause that applies to Kia Motors express warranties.

In August of 2012, it will be 2 years that I have owned my 2011 KIA Sorento. I bought the vehicle brand new. 3 weeks ago (at 30K miles), my 4 tires had steel threads poking out and the tires were very thin. The Sorento was also pulling to the right, very bad. I contacted the dealership, telling them that their manufacturers tires were bad and demanded they replace them and fix my alignment. Kia told me that it could have done 12 months prior, but that I am out of luck now and have to pay over $200 to get it fixed right. So, I went to another big time vehicle mechanic. They did my alignment and they also mentioned that the camber bolts needed to be replaced/fixed, but that would have to be something KIA needs to do. This place did do my alignment, after I forked over a thousand dollars for 4 brand new tires at Discount Tire Co. So, Kia Corporate Service told me to bring the vehicle in for a checkup after I told them what the other mechanic told me. After Kia was done, they hit me with a charge for another alignment! I explained to the guy that we had told him from the beginning that we had an alignment done and that we did not authorize this. Then, Kia told me that the camber bolts were installed backwards and the mechanic had to fix that too. I told the guy, How could that be? The other mechanic never even touched the bolts. After I was forced to pay in order to be able to drive it off, the Sorento went back to pulling off to the right again. So, back I went to the dealership today. I took this Kia service guy for a test drive in my Sorento. This guy said that driving down our bad city roads just makes it seems like our vehicle is pulling off to the right. That there are a lot of bumps in our city roads. The service guy said they will take another look at our Sorento, even though as he said, There is nothing wrong with it. Kia also refuses to give me my money back for the other alignment that was done, which the vehicle did not need. While there, I met another customer who had just gone through the same, exact thing we are now going through. She has hired an attorney and gave me the name of her attorney.

I have a 2011 Kia Sorento that acts like it’s not getting fuel or not changing gears. I took it into the dealership for this and they changed something in the shifter. For a few weeks it seemed fixed. When it began to act up again I called dealership and was told that I had brought my car in for a different reason and now that my warranty was up I would be required to pay for any service that I had done. I was asked what kind of light was coming on when the car acts up. I told them that no light comes on. Then I was pretty much told that I was stupid. If my car is doing like I was saying then there had to be a light on. My car just gets worse and worse. Sometimes it’s going along fine and then the rpm jumps to 5 or 6 and the car acts like its down shifting and doesn’t want to go. Then the rpm will drop below 1. Sometimes when you take off from a stop sign or traffic light it shifts really hard and makes a clunking noise like the transmission is going to fall to the ground. I too like a lot of others, chose the Kia for the great warranty, but when the dealership is always saying there’s nothing wrong that makes the warranty useless. Just because I’m female doesnt mean I’m stupid. And I dont like being treated that way.

I’m a second time ‘Kia lemon vehicle’ purchaser and I have filed a case with the Better Business Bureau. Both vehicles I purchased classify as lemon vehicles because they both came with manufacturing defects that affected my safety. I currently own a 2018 Kia Stinger that has a malfunctioning audio system and is now automatically shutting off while in drive mode. This is the 2nd Kia vehicle that has shut off on me in the middle of traffic, causing a terribly dangerous situation. I have been to the Kia Cumming, GA dealership on 3 separate occasions to address my audio system issue. To be driving a $36,000 vehicle with less than 50k miles and be frightened that my car will shut off in the middle of the highway, AND have to listen to audio system static for every 10-15 seconds FOR 8-MONTHS, is unacceptable.I took my previous Kia vehicle to the dealership on multiple occasions, over a period of years with engine/starting issues, before the engine finally failed. Kia having known that this was an issue, and not doing the right thing to rectify it before I became stranded on the side of the road, was disheartening and should have prevented me from placing faith in the company again. The inconvenience that both vehicles has caused me in continuous Kia service appointments and phone calls, is so ridiculous.Foolishly I remained loyal to the brand, and traded in my previous Kia vehicle for another, only to have the SAME type of concerns arise, engine/transmission issues AND now audio system issues as well. My new vehicle is a gorgeous royal blue Kia Stinger, which causes me to get frequent attention and have questions asked pertaining to the vehicle on a weekly basis. I can honestly tell you that my response when people ask, “How do you like the car” has absolutely changed, and my response is now “DON’T BUY A KIA”!

We purchased this vehicle in April of 2017 and have regretted our purchase because of the numerous issues. We have wasted many hours trying to get warranty repairs on faulty brakes and electrical system problems and are still trying. Not only does this hybrid have very poor gas mileage and many strange glitches, it is also very difficult to get any service done as each of the dealerships only staff 1 hybrid technician. We have been to 3 different dealerships and in communication with the corporate office about a recurring abs system malfunction that they cannot figure out how to fix. It is extremely unsettling to have a check brakes alert pop up 2-3 times a month on a car that is still under warranty and extremely frustrating to be unable to get this company to stand behind their product and fix a potentially life-threatening problem. My Kia Sorento 2009 diesel had 101,*** kms on it and since I bought it as new it has all type of mechanical problems. I told them the prob and I have a strong feeling it was the engine. They tested it and said that the car needed some parts. I changed the turbo and other parts which would cost over $1000 since warranty would not cover it cause its for maintenance and they charge me for filters more than $400. Since 2009 the car has in the mechanical shop more than 8 months, the last time the car was for 7 months, looking for some solution - at the end they changed the engine for a 3/4 engine. Two weeks after that the car was in the mechanic shop because did not turned on, and they change the turbo, and every week we need to return again for different failures. The car is in the mechanical shop again since more than 2 weeks without solution. This karma comes since 2009 and I do not have the chance to enjoy the car.I called back Kia and schedule an appointment to talk with somebody but nobody answer or return my calls. They never wanted to apply the warranty and in general charge me for a lot of parts that are warranty. We need to make a case for Kia to approve engine change. Since the car was under warranty although they never solve the problem and were waiting until the warranty expired. I tried to contact the corp many times but they never answer the mail or complaints. I decide to delegate this case to a lawyer cause I am so tired about this car and do not receive solution. My husband was driving to town this past Sat. He lost control of the steering and brakes. We had a mechanic take a look. The crankshaft bolt broke and the pin sheared off. So we have had this Kia for 10 months. Paid almost $13,000 for it. It had 68,000 miles. It has almost 79,000 now. The mechanic said that the pin should have lasted the life of the Kia. So I go to a United States Government web site and am horrified. There are 5 recalls, and 12 suggested service calls for repair of parts that should last the life of the vehicle. Some of the repairs state that this default could cause serious accidents. Then on further investigation I find out there is a civil suit against Kia. There are 1,000s of people experiencing this problem. The real problem is that the gear behind the harmonic stabilizer was engineered wrong. Its too heavy. So even if you get the crankshaft pin replaced it happens again. The Govt. site is Odi.nhtsa.gov and I also found info at other credited web site and by reading the class action suit, Robinson et al v. Kia Motors Inc et al., case # 13-cv-00006 US District Court, type that into the tool bar. I have tried to contact Kia at 1800-333-4542, 1800-225-3193. I have emailed Greg **, Director of Regional Affairs at ** and Kia USA. My Kia is not safe to drive. It is alleged that Kia has known about these engineering defects for a long time. Its a lot to digest. I am heartbroken and with no funds to repair this Kia. I pay for a Kia Sorento that is unsafe to drive. When the crankshaft pin broke, it did damage to the belts, harmonic balancer, gear behind harmonic balancer. The cotter pin that sheared off as well, the oil pan seal. Wow, but I feel fortunate that no one was physically hurt. Maybe Consumer Affairs should do an article about this. 1,000s of Consumers are affected. Will it take fatalities for someone to address this?

To start things off, I just want to say that I WILL NEVER purchase another Kia. Back in November of 2019, I hit a deer and had to have somebody work done at my local body shop. When that was completed, I had to take it to Kia of Lincoln, NE to have the new module that was put in by the body shop reprogrammed. What was supposed to be a simple fix, Kia of Lincoln ended up having my vehicle for almost a month and a half. They also had to fly a tech in from another state to figure out what was wrong with it and why the codes wouldnt clear. They hardly ever communicated with me on what was going on and when Id call in to get an update, they would have to call me back or say that they were still trying to figure out the problem. When I finally got it back, it seemed to function as it should. However, that didnt last long though. There was a several times where I would have sensor lights come on and the vehicle would act up. The most recent occurrence was when I was driving home from work and a bunch of sensor lights came on, my cruise control quit working and I had to pull over on the side of the interstate. I ended up having to shut my vehicle off and when I started it back up, it wouldnt shift out of park. I had to have it towed to a Kia dealership in Grand Island, NE the following day to see if they could diagnose the problem. They werent able to duplicate the vehicle not being able to shift out of park, but they did find that the module that was supposed to be reprogrammed when Kia of Lincoln had it, was never done correctly. This is why the sensor lights kept coming on. I ended up having a bill that I was told that I was responsible for since the issue was not covered under warranty due to it being related to the accident. I reached out to the dealership in Lincoln several times and they basically told me that they did everything correctly and that there wasnt anything else that they could do. This is when I decided to contact Kia Consumer Services to see if they could help me out. I explained what was going on to them and was told that Id get a call back the next day. A few days passed by and I still hadnt heard anything. I ended up calling back a little over a week later to find out that my case had been turned over to someone else. No one bothered to let me know once again. I reached out to them again a few days later to get some answers and was told by the person that I spoke with that it wasnt their problem, so I needed to contact my insurance company I had at the time of the accident. He also hung up on me after he proceeded to say that he wasnt going to argue with me. So, I contacted them see if they would help me out. I finally received an answer back and they agreed to cover the bill after they had already paid for the vehicle to be fixed correctly the first time when Kia of Lincoln had it. I think the part that irritates me the most is, the dealership that didnt fix it correctly the first time wouldnt even help me out and they are the same dealership that I purchased my vehicle from. Its going on a month now and Im still without my vehicle. Ive had to drive other peoples to get to and from when this could of easily been taken care of within a matter of a few days.

I bought my Kia Carens from new 08 reg. I have had problems one after another with it. I have been complaining about the gear stick from almost the year I got the car. I got told it was the clutch that was the problem. I got a new clutch fitted but still got problems with changing the gears. I took it back and again got told it was my clutch. When I said it was a new clutch, I got told it must be fitted wrong, to take it back to the garage that fitted it. I did that and was told it was fitted okay. I took the car to another Kia dealer and they said it was the gear linkage and repaired it. A few days later, it started doing it again.I have told the Kia dealer that the gears are still not changing, that it jams. When trying to change gears, I have to turn off the engine and put it into gear before it will go. I still dont have that fixed. Then about two years ago, I got a noise coming from the engine. I took it back to the garage to get it fixed. It was the turbo that had blew. Three weeks later, I had the same trouble. I took it back again and got told the turbo had blown again, that it must have been a faulty turbo. Last Oct., I was at Aberdeen and the car stopped suddenly on the motorway. I had to get pushed into the side of the road by the police. I called the RAC out. The engine was flooded with oil. I was told that it was one of the fuel injectors that had gone. I had to hire a car to take me back home the next day and the RAC took my car back to Kia a few days later. I had to keep the hired car three weeks till I got mine back again. A new turbo was fitted. It turned out that it was the fuel injector leaking that was blowing the turbo. That was three turbos within a year that was fitted and every time my car is off the road, I have to hire a car as it is a disabled car and my husband was going through chemotherapy and I needed the car to take him to hospital. Now, I have a new problem with the electrics. I was out three weeks ago when my lights went out on the dashboard and the police were behind me and pulled me over. It turned out when the dashboard lights went out, so did my tail lights so I got a slip of paper from the police telling me I had been pulled over and I had 21 days to get the lights fixed. I phoned Kia and booked it in the next morning. I got told it would be Friday, 5 days after I was stopped. That was fine. I took the car in to get it fixed. It was in all morning. I got a call saying it was ready for pick up. I picked it up and was told it wasnt fixed. I had to wait for parts.I got a call later that day telling me it was booked in for Thursday. Last week, I got a call on Wednesday telling me not to take it in; the parts were still not in. I would get a call on Fri. telling me when to take it back to get fixed. I did not get the call. The car still hasnt been fixed and the 21 days the police gave me is up tomorrow. I had to call the police and explain that I am waiting for parts to come for it, and the garage cant stamp the slip till it has been fixed. Now I have to get a letter from Kia telling them that Im waiting for parts coming in. Thats 3 weeks Ive been waiting. I cant go out at night because if I touch the switch to indicate the lights go out. Its fine through the day when the lights are off. I will never buy another Kia car. It has been trouble since day one. If anyone asked me how I would rate Kia, I would say keep clear of them.

I just purchased my new Kia Soul mid-2012. It was disappointing enough that the promised MPG was far off from what was advertised. I did purchase the vehicle because of the purposed fuel ratings that were high. Obviously that did not happen for me and thousands of other consumers! But on to my other problem. My vehicle smells like mold! I took my car in for the oil change and also let them know of the odor. The service rep said they would check it out. I waited for my vehicle and when I went to check out, the rep told me they sprayed the vehicle hose where the a/c unit was with some type of freshener. He showed me a can that blasts the product through the hose. They proceeded to let me know that other people had complained of the same issue. I asked what caused this, he said from the a/c unit, rain, and parking under trees! What?! Its a faulty design from the a/c drain line! He stated I needed to change the filter which is located behind the glove compartment about every year to prevent the smell from coming back at a rate of $150! Are you kidding? Why do I have to pay for a defect in the lines for the a/c unit? He said thats just the way it is. He did say that they take care of it the first time. If its an issue, then just take care of the problem, forever. Only a few weeks have passed and the smell is back. The crazy thing is I got bronchitis and cant seem to get over it! Ive never had an issue with this in the past. I wonder if my car is a factor?! We all know mold is hazardous to peoples health and it can cause all types of serious health issues. Im just saying?! Im not sure what to do at this point. I cant afford $150 every few months to have the filter changed. Its just crazy to me.

Kia overall is a great affordable choice. We have owned 2 Kia Souls and 1 Sorrento. The Sorrento is roomy and versatile. We have 2 kids and its been a wonderful family car. The fold down third row is great for when we need the extra room for groceries. We have taken the car on many road trips and find it very comfortable to travel in, even with small children. We feel safe in it and enjoy having it.

Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. Got this car for my daughte
Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. Got this car for my daughter who’s paid this note since 2015- car almost paid off only owes $2900. Contacted them in December 2020 for a two month extension being my daughter lost her job due to COVID. January told by Kia rep that everything was good to go- no payment due till February. Today she’s notified her payment is over 30 days past due. When my daughter called Kia the reps said there was a glitch and refused to put a supervisor on. So I called and I was told the extension didn’t go through because the system tapped out (whatever that means)! Meanwhile not one person corrected this so called tapped out error on their part or contacted either one of us to let us know anything new needs done! This doesn’t make any sense what’s so ever! So then they said the $675 that’s now past due needs paid so my daughter paid it- I requested a supervisor or manager and then was told they don’t have one In the building! Again- WHAT! I have never heard of such insanity!I tried to see how to file a corporate complaint but of course that’s no use because when I tried to ask I’m told to log onto KIA- I log onto KIA and now the account is locked! So now all though my account going past 30 days isn’t anyone’s fault but Kia’s they will probably have the audacity to send this to my credit bureaus against me when it’s clearly their own error! Just awful! I will NEVER get another Kia vehicle again in my life and neither will my daughter- damn sure won’t ever Finance anything through them again! None of them know what they are doing and I suppose it’s because as stated by the rep no supervisor or manager is ever present in the building!

For all of you people thinking of buying a Kia, read this. Bought a brand new 2012 Kia Sorento, not a demo, right out of the show room. At 800 km, head gasket had to be re-placed. At 1500 km, oil pan seal had to be replaced. At 2000 km, engine block had to be replaced. After arguing days with Kia Longueil and Kia Canada, we got them to replace the entire motor instead of re-building my engine. Then we went to pick up the truck and the electrical blew. Kia Canada does not stand behind their product at all! We requested to have the vehicle changed for a new one from the minute we started having these problems, and was told no but we will get free oil change. My truck that I paid over $40,000 for a new vehicle experience has been ruined by Kia Canada. I am now stuck with a hunk of junk. For my loss of time out of the office, anxiety and fear my truck will break down, Kia Canada offered me a free oil change. If I ever sell or trade in my truck which I will, what do I say when I am asked if any major repairs have been done to the vehicle? To my surprise Kia doesn’t stand behind their product. Too bad we do not have a lemon law in Canada. I would never buy a Kia again! If you research Kia Sorento, I am not the only person to have major problems with the vehicle or Kia Canada.Don’t buy a Kia!

We bought a Kia Sorento CX3 on 31.3.15 at a Kia franchise. It was about 4 years old. We were told it had never been in and accident and paid £18000 for it, which was the top end of suggested prices. From the beginning we had problems with the sunroof, which rattled. We took it to a local franchise dealer on a number of occasions to get it fixed. Parts of the sunroof had to be replaced.About 17 months after we bought the car it started smelling of damp. My daughter discovered water in the passenger vanity light. When the car was checked by the local Kia dealer. They discovered the welding in the roof had been grounded. Which implies it has been in some sort of accident. We contacted the original Kia dealer and Kias customer care service. They basically said Its not covered by the warranty. We can do nothing for you, and said we could contact the omnison, which we are now doing. It cost £3400 to be fixed by the local Kia garage. You buy from a franchise dealer, who is an ambassador for Kia, because you think you will have some protection. I dont think the garage knowingly sold us a damaged car but I feel Kia have let us down and questioned our integrity. As an ex nurse/midwife, I have spent my life caring for people and I think the way we have been treated is appalling. Buy your car from a company with more integrity and a customer care service that does care.

I bought a 2012 Hyundai Sonota from them. They told me they just got the car in and went through it thoroughly. Two weeks later the motor seized up! Come to find out the motor was a junkyard motor!! Of course they claim to not know this but if they went through it then how did they not know? Lies!! So I went back and they said all they could do is charge me $3000 for a new motor (which they said was a deal but Hyundai only wanted $2500). Lies!! Or give the car back and they keep my down payment and first payment!! WHAT!! Sales manager was a complete jerk!! Told me they keep the down payment to cover their costs because I blew up the motor in his car!! You sell me a junk car for $8000 and I should cover what they lost! Wow!! If I could give less than 1 star I would.

I purchased a new 2011 Sorento against my better judgment, knowing a first year production is always problem prone. But I have had purchased many Hyundais in the past, and was used to great service, and knowing its the same company, I expected the same quality (WRONG). Coleman Kia in Ewing NJ has the most lying area manager and service department in the nation. They charge repairs to Kia, that they never repair, or even look at. Case at point: Ive had a bad door rattle in the passenger side door since purchase. Ive had the vehicle in for service for 5 times and the repair was charged but never done. The last time, I placed tape under the door to know rather, or not the door panel was opened. And guess what the service manager stated? The door was repaired but the tape was never touched. Enough said. Never, ever, again, would I ever purchase another Kia. My door still annoying like a rattle snake. But how does Kia allow itself to be continued to be ripped off. I would like to still have my door repaired, only 40,000 miles.

Our 2014 KIA Sorento audio volume speed control doesnt work when the vehicle accelerate, we have to keep adjusting the volume both when we are at high speed (highway) and low speed (city). The Kia dealer didnt find any fault, so they took the car for a test drive and compared it with other new SUV and they said they noticed that the volume changed barely, but so small (or low) that anyone barely will notice that the volume adjusted itself, and they said without KIA directed them to do something, they cant. So they told me to call KIA and explain the problem and thats were the unwelcome and the frustration came in: I called KIA to explain the problem so I can have a better understanding of whats going! Everything was going okay til I mention the complaint about the volume and she became very angry with me and started to speak very loud! She asked the name of the dealer and the name of the person handling the repair etc., and she said if the dealer said the SUV is working normally then it is. So I tried to explain to her of what the dealer did and how they couldnt diagnose the problem, but she became so angry with me all of a sudden that she was very hard to talk to! So I thank her for her NO HELP and hang up.I am frustrated with this because I found out that I am not the only Sorento owner with this problem, and the way she was on the defensive, Im pretty sure she has heard about the problem. I have a 2001 Chevy Impala and it has that audio volume speed control feature and guess what??? It works flawlessly and KIA cant make the same system work on a 2014 model?? Really. I want KIA to look into this problem and update the SUV systems.

In March of 2012, I purchased a new 2012 Kia Rio. Not long after having it, the radio would not read CDs. I had it in the dealer service department several times, and I would still have the same problem. The dealer finally decided to replace the radio with a re-manufactured one. The refurbished one that was put in was even worse than the original one. It would freeze up, go out, and do things without me touching it. Also, I would lose control of it, and it would even stay on after the car was shut off, key taken out of ignition, and car locked. I took it to another dealer to have them look at it. And after a long period of time of having problems with it, it was replaced again with yet another refurbished one. It worked okay for a while, and now all of a sudden, when turned on, there is no sound. There is no sound whatsoever when I run the volume knob up and down. I am fed up with Kia for their products and service! I will never buy another Kia! I am in the process of filing a lemon law claim with the BBB. They should buy this vehicle back after countless sorry attempts to fix the problem and Im still having trouble out of it!

Nov. to next Jan. is a good time for car buying, since automakers will put more incentive/rebates on new cars. But not every brand is honest with customers. In particular, as a recent buyer with PAINFUL experience, I recommend: stay away from KIA, if you look for non-cheating rebates. This is based on my painful car buying experience from KIA (it is not dealers issue, but just KIAs issue). To summarize the experience, I felt I was unfairly treated, discriminated or even insulted by KIA, who in the end took away rebate written in the car contract that I signed 3 weeks ago. Basically, the car I have already put >500 miles, But then KIA told me that I am suddenly not qualified for their rebate and I should come back to pay more). My detailed story was below. (I will post this to major auto websites to help buyers avoid painful experience of mine. Any question, please email me at **).I signed the contract and obtained a new KIA Niro 2017 on 11/24/2017 (Black Friday), attracted by low price with KIA rebate. I am a recent grad, with diploma dated on 09/2016, during that time I was with my F1 student visa (this matters). After graduation, I obtained EAD (employment authorization card granted by US government) and worked in the same university I studied. Basically, I have a work permit to be employed and my contract is annually signed due to nature of research task. ( this matters for KIA). My credit score ~790, with annual salary > 70K. With those info. I was qualified for KIA rebate (1000 dollar) and final price of the car is around 24K, checked by KIA and KIA dealer before we signed contract. I put 10K as down payment, leaving 14K as 4-years auto loan with KIA per rebates policy.I thought everything should work as the signed contract. However, from Dec. 4 the dealer contacted me for my visa and EAD, per KIAs requirement. I feel strange but I try to work with them so I send out my F1 visa and current EAD (C09 category) that my employer has on file. I even emailed my position/annual pay from HR, and leave contact of my employer HR so that they can verify files. Now KIA finance begins to send ridiculous statements like: Contract Returned (Unable to accept Employment Auth Card, Must have Visa) 1. Visa submitted expired 10.03.2014 - Not valid... acceptable visas H-1B, H-1B1, L-1, TN, O1, E1, E2, E3 2. We will need employer letter stating they will request reinstatement due to applicants Visa expired 10/3/2014.There are two hidden rules or tricks from KIA that they can not give me rebate: KIA does not accept my Employment Auth Card (EAD). They keep looking at my expired F1-visa but ignore my current EAD. They want me to have a visa in THEIR list, which is only a small portion of valid EAD from the US governments. (https://save.uscis.gov/web/media/resourcesContents/EAD_Code_Table.pdf). I wonder, if US government grants me EAD for work and I indeed got employed with a good salary (70K annually for 14K loan in 4 years), then Kias policy is a discrimination. Moreover, Kia is also ignorant, as visa does not mean you could work legally (like F-1 ), instead EAD is standard work permit. I and my employer felt very sad when KIA keep asking us valid visa and ignore my EAD.KIA could not finance with me under 4 years, as my current employer only sign a one-year contact. I need to have a employment with a 4-year contract from CURRENT employer AND 4-year valid visa (they do not say EAD). This is truly ridiculous. If 4-year finance requires: 4-year employment contract with the same current company, who can be qualified, given the uncertainty of many jobs? Dealer and I tried to satisfy this unfair KIAs requirement. After talking with KIA (from dealer), one way for me is to bug my HR +boss to write a letter stating that: they have a good intention to hire me for 4 years.I did that and my HR finally agreed to work on this. However, I was later told that even with the letter I still can not have the rebate, because my EAD (KIA always asked visa) was unaccepted, and I need to reinstate a 4-year valid visa in KIAs list by me or my employer. I felt truly insulted as KIA implied that they did not consider my employment as normal or even legal. My HR felt very unhappy, and asked me to leave KIA, why not choose other brand, like HONDA?. Unfortunately, I did not have choice since I drove the car for 3 weeks, returning the car will be very unfair/impossible to dealer. In the meantime, I tried to get KIA finance contact and talked to them directly. From the dealer, I got number and called KIA finance: 1866-337-5632. After reporting my case number: **, I was told that KIA finance would not talk with me directly, and they asked me to contact dealer. They just ignore my request. In the end, I and dealer have to take care about the extra money due to the loss of KIA rebate. I, dealer, even my employer, all harmed and felt this is unfair from KIA. I feel I am discriminated or insulted from the whole process. KIAs hidden rules on the rebate was a cheating and dishonest trick on customer or even KIA dealership. If one seeks honest rebate/incentive, stay away from KIA, and look at other brands (there are so many). If you insist on KIA, think about their two after-contract hidden rules/traps (that is after your employment/salary + credit score satisfies and contracted was signed) that I encountered: 4-year finance? OK, then do you have proof of 4-years of employment from your current job? Working on visa/EAD? OK, do you have current 4-year valid visa (not EAD) that must be in KIAs list? Other conditions (waiting to see other customers posting...)? Feel free to forward my experience to other potential autobuyers so that they do not have to experience I experienced.

I have sent a message to customer service about my cracked bumper and I am extremely upset with the situation. Here are the pictures regarding my e-mail and I would like a response from customer service. I am an unsatisfied customer and I regret buying a car from Kia since I was not aware that the plastic was this cheap. I did not hit a snow bank nor did I run over anything. I am a very careful driver and I am not happy that the cheap bumper cracked on its own and I am extremely not happy about the incompetent Kia technicians at the Kia Montreal-North. They were arrogant and unhelpful in so many ways and blamed me, the customer, for the cracked bumper without any interest in hearing my side of the story. My e-mail is ** and I will be waiting for the prompt reply this coming week. Thank you and have a good day!

OK, so I bought a used 2006 Sorento in 2008 with 30,000 miles. It seemed nice, but I did not have it for a week. Then, the headlight and taillight were out. The dealer fixed it and said it was under warranty, to go to Kia. I went to a Kia dealer, they told me it had a recall and needed new wiring harness for both front and back. They ordered them. When I went back for the scheduled appointment, they had not ordered it and the next time I went back, the dealer had closed! I went to a nearby town. Kia ordered the front and corrected the headlight. But the rear, they claimed they knew nothing about. I had to return because the headlight again burned out and they told me to use Kia bulbs, so I did at $53.00 per replacement? Come on, now theres no way I am replacing them. I went back about the rear and had a small crack in the taillight. They told me that was the problem. However, the problem existed before the crack in the taillight. I was out on that as well and I have to wonder where that crack came from. I had the car serviced a few weeks ago and had 7 taillights replaced as all were out. I bet you, I have put in $100 since I have had this car. The lighter in the car quit working, they replaced that. Of course, it lasted for two weeks. The phone charger does not work either, but did in the beginning. It no longer does. Now time for inspection and the service engine light came on. They said I need two oxygen sensors and a new converter. This car has 75,000 miles on it. What is it made of and do I have a reason to complain? If you buy a used Kia, you only get 65,000 miles on warranty, not the 100,000. I dont even dart on the door of their service department after a $53.00 light bulb that burnt out the same as the one from a local parts house. Very disappointed in this car and I wont go that route again unless something changes, until everything fell apart on it. I would have bought a new one this year.

We have called and dealt with the car dealer about the front end thumping sound. We had to replace the tires at 22,000 miles and we had the car in the car dealer 10 times. With only 22,000 miles on the car, we spent $672.15 for new tires and the dealer would not help, Atlantic Kia (out of bus., selling Kias now) in Pleasantville, NJ 08232. Now with 70,000, it needs tires again and the thumping area is the worst of the 3 tires. Now we will spend $550 for new tires. With that we always get rotation, balancing and front end alignments. We have all receipts but Kia will not call or email back and will not help at all.

I am writing for my roommate **. She is not in the best health. One year ago she bought a 2008 Kia Rondo after her 2006 Kia blew up a few days after the warranty ended. This Kia was a certified used car which means to us it is just a regular car. The first day the rear door was stuck. The dealer had to cut the door off to open it and replace the door. They paid for it. Since then she went to get it inspected and the front coil spring had broken, the brakes all the way around are completely shot and an exhaust pipe is leaking before the cat converter. They refused as well as Kia to repair anything since it is out of warranty. She bought an extended warranty which is useless, since in my experience, they never pay for anything. But since the car was coming from one of the largest dealers in the area we thought they would stand behind it... What a joke!!! One other thing that slipped my mind but it is not something they would fix anyway. I was driving on the interstate last summer with cruise on at 65 mph, got pulled over and got a 200.00 ticket for speeding at 95 mph. I paid the ticket and got the charges reduced so as not to get my license suspended. I guess we will have to pay for the repairs, but both Kia and the dealer will lose our business and everyone we know as well!!

I want to know why the bags did not deploy? Is there any recourse? Do you sue the Kia Motor Dealers? As of right now, I dont know if my car is totaled or not. I purchased this car new, have done all maintainer to car. At 64000 mile air go out, told my condenser was hit by a rock. Have seen over 1000 complaints about this same thing. This is a big problem with design. Told its not covered because I am over the 60000 mile warranty!! This is bull. I own 3 Kia, just purchased a 2016 Sorento and I am going to design something to stop this. I have own many different cars and this is the first to have this problem! KIA NEEDED TO RECALL THEIR DESIGN ON THIS CONDENSER and put mesh shield to protect it. Very disappointed with KIA.

I purchased via bank loan a 2008 KIA Sorento SUV Ex AWD in January 2016, sold to me for about $9,995.00 with 60,000 miles. I probably still owe about $7.000.00 to the bank. Initially when I first drove it, my son-in-law noticed it had a loud noise. I accepted the noise coming from the rear considering it was just the design of the car. Not yet one year, I have a continuous unresolved check engine light, that no mechanic shop could resolve, which eventually meant, to take it to the dealer for resolve. The mechanic there could not find its problem, because repairs made previously for the specific code for the unresolved check engine light. So mechanic at Dealership resets the light to off, but mentions, my model year vehicle had a 2010 technical service bulletin (TSB-023) that the rear differentials can be bad in this model year vehicle causing bearings to wear out, and recommending new rear differential replacements. So I find having a bad rear differential is unsafe to drive. That Toyota issues Recalls for bad Rear Differentials. But KIA gets away with not having to issue Recalls, only Technical Service Bulletins for bad Rear Differentials? The Dealership was aware by receipt of Technical Service Bulletin issued in 2010, that this car could have this problem. As consumer, I am not a mechanic, and kept in the dark for a bulletin I would have to buy to learn all the faults about my model year car. How is it one manufacturer (KIA Manufacturing) does not have to issue recalls for Rear Differentials? That is why it became issue for Technical Service Bulletins because so many KIA models have this problem. But is not a recall? And yet, bad rear differentials are recalls with other manufacturers.I researched my car prior to deciding to purchase it. I found no repairs, nothing major performed on the vehicle, leading to me, I had a sound car. But it also answers it wasnt inspected for the Technical Service Bulletin issue. No mention about any inspections for recommended Technical Service Bulletin issues. Advise all consumers purchase a technical service bulletin for your used car you ever decide to buy. Not every issue is decidedly recalled. Although with other car manufacturers, a bad rear differential is recalled because it jeopardizes safety, i.e. Toyota. And how KIA apparently doesnt have to recall their 2008 KIA Sorentos for bad rear differentials, which are proven common issues with this model year car makes me question are they allowed to have numerous KIAs with bad rear differentials in Technical Service bulletins and not have this issue as recalls? One person had their KIA wheels lock up suddenly while going down hill, and the vehicle slid sideways when the wheels locked up. What I am really getting to... it this practice allowed? Make every issue a Technical Service Bulletin, even if it jeopardizes safety? Or, is it up to the manufacturer to determine what issue is safe or unsafe? I just feel like I am being deceived and puts my car at risk to my life and the lives of others on the highway because of possible deception or fraud.

Second year it got worst, driver window didnt work, 3 passengers doors knob broken, air conditioner didnt work and part by part keep breaking. By beginning of my 3rd year I have place almost every single part except the engine. Its the worst car I ever own. I have to spend money fixing this car every week. I have to spend 50 to 70 percent of my income to fix it for the past 6 months. Im broke because of the car. I tried to trade it in but dealer wont take it. They told me nobody want to buy Kia. And today as my mechanic working on replacing an alternator. Im sitting here expressing my frustration and it will be the last thing I will fix. I will tow it away if anything else break. I bought a 2015 KIA Soul in Aug 2015, a 2015 model. I bought the car based on price and gas mileage. They touted the excellent warranty and reliability of the car. Well, six months later the car stopped running at a stop sign this past Sunday. Its a manual transmission and would not engage the transmission. Had it towed to KIA and was informed today the clutch was burnt out and the warranty on this is 12K miles and the car has 12,900K so guess what. Yep, $1500.00 dollars later I can get my car back. I have driven manual transmissions my entire life and never had any sort of clutch failure. Buyer beware. Please read and advise all your friends to stay as far away from KIA as possible. Supposedly the case was sent to KIA headquarters who denied the claim. Shame on that person and believe me I will spread the word far and wide. DO NOT BUY A KIA.

2013 Kia Optima Recall: My car was checked and determined to have the issue with metal shavings in the engine. They have arranged for an immediate loaner - even though they do not know when they will have an engine for me. I asked them what the new warranty will be for this new engine and I cant get a clear answer. Will it be the full 100,000 miles which only seems fair? They said they had heard that it might be and extra 20,000 to 50,000 on top of the original warranty. I would have thought that they would have had that detail worked out by now.

I thought I found my dream car, but ended up having it for just 3 weeks. Two and a half weeks after purchasing, my battery went dead so I had it jumped and my boss checked the oil since the hood was open. He was totally shocked as there was absolutely no oil reading on the stick at all. We went and got a quart of oil and told me to immediately take it to the dealer. The dealer gave me a loaner car for the day so they could make sure there was no damage and said it was fine, topped it off with oil and said there was a loose wire on the battery. Three days later my husband drove the car to the store and called me and said he now knows where the oil is going... Its burning it. He said he saw a stream of smoke as he drove down the road. My first response was, this cant be... I am so in love with this car!! (Crazy I know!)I called the dealership and my husband took it straight there and they said a Kia dealer needs to look at it. Well, long story short and tons of phone calls to the Dealer and Kia Consumer Affairs, there was major sludge in the engine and the engine needed a replacement. According to Carfax, per Kia, there is no indication there was any maintenance to the car which resulted in the sludge. Ive never even heard the word sludge in regards to a car until this and now that Ive researched it... its an ongoing problem. Even though the car is still under the 60,000 mile warranty, Kia is not taking any responsibility and claims the dealer should have checked the car thoroughly before selling it to me. Kia also denied the warranty with this same problem on this car in July 2016 so the original owner traded it in for another victim to purchase and deal with this problem, which ultimately was me. Kia denies the warranty because of no proof of proper maintenance, but yet doesnt protect the next buyer with the sludge problem for this to happen again to an innocent buyer that was in search of a car. They claimed they didnt report things like that to Carfax. I stated, well maybe the owner did his own oil changes like my husband does and maybe it could be a defective problem. Of course there was no reason for them to listen to my plea or opinion. There was no reason for me to know there was any kind of problem. We checked the car out and everything looked great under the hood that we could see as well as the running of the car for the 3 weeks I had it. I just want to make it clear to the next buyer... Just because youre buying a car with a warranty it could have the word if behind it, so please be careful. Check the car fax, obviously its their certifiable proof of the maintenance of the vehicle, (its not just for wrecks anymore), read any lawsuits that are out there and for the lenders, be careful of what youre financing. If a car fax determines the maintenance of a car and a warranty that is not being honored because of it, you could be holding a title of a car that is not even on the road and end up in your parking lot broken down. Meanwhile, the consumers credit that they have worked on for years go to shambles. Personally, I believe over greed and deceit. Ive been without a car for 10 days now and unsure where all of this is going. Loved my car and so did my clients that I drove around. Its a shame how this was handled. I just hope I protect the next person on what to look at before purchasing what they believe has a warranty and is protected.

We purchased a 2013 Kia Soul because we have many friends and family who had recently done so and were happy. I have followed all of the warranty rules, I have had my maintenance done timely and have proof. My Kia out of nowhere sputtered twice with no dash warning lights on and died in the middle of the road. It was towed to Cardinal Kia where I was told by Ryan in service that my engine was blown, within 15 minutes he called me again and explained that he found a bulletin in the computer regarding this issue and told me changing the oil would fix the problem, I was skeptical. We picked the car up and less than half way home the car died and there was oil spewing out the motor all over. Now we have been left with no car not even a courtesy car and told we have to pay first for them to tear down the motor? Ive done all they have asked to ensure my warranty is in good standing and then this, my Kia has 50,000 kms on it. Im never going to buy another Kia and their customer service sucks, I have been hung up on and told my vehicle will sit in their parking lot untouched unless I pay for it.

I bought a used 2010 Kia Soul on August 16, 2012; with 60,000-mile warranty. I thought I would be covered for equipment-related vehicle breakdowns. Two days later, on August 18, 2012, which was a Saturday, the car would not start. It was in the afternoon outside a store in the rain. After calling the local Kia dealership, it was expeditiously towed to that dealership. I rented a car and went about my business, hoping that everything would be covered under the excellent warranty. It turned out to be the battery. It was replaced for this dealer, but as a maintenance issue, I had to pay for it. During this process, I was told that the Arizona heat is hard on batteries. This being the case, I believe that Kia policies be changed, and customer not be sent out with an unwarranted battery. To me, it reflects badly on Tempe Kia and Kia as a whole. Another issue is covered in another complaint.

We bought a 2008 Kia Rondo EX 2.4L brand new from the dealership and opted for the Kia Protect 5 Star plan extended warranty. Thankfully this covered repeated visits for struts and front end parts and included the premature timing chain (not belt) replacement at 140K. At 151K the engine throws a rod through the block. All oil changes performed and documented and reviewed and approved by Kia. However the Kia Protect warranty states two items: 1) Repair will be covered up to the wholesale value of the vehicle (originally I was told by Kia my wholesale value was $1500 but after a month Kia Protect reviewed and increased to $3500).2) Warranty repairs may include new or reconditioned Kia parts but also says at the discretion of the administrator .Response from the dealership: I spoke with the extended warranty company this morning and they gave me a max value they will cover, they will cover to a max of $1479.00, and they will only install OEM Kia parts, which means you would have to cover the difference, and new parts and install you’ll be looking upwards of 10,000.00 which would be a large difference to cover. Your other option is a used complete motor assembly that would be approx. 4700.00 plus taxes installed, but they will not cover any of it. Motor will take a few business days to get to us, then we would need a few days for install.I argued with both the dealership and Kia that may include does not mean must include. However Kia Protect will only replace the engine with a new Kia engine and will not consider a used engine. Estimate from Kia Protect (LGM FINANCIAL SERVICES INC.) The estimate is as follows: total estimate $9484.60. Kia protect: $3500 including taxes. Remaining balance to be paid by contract holder: $5984.60. There is a $500 difference in the amount if the head does not have be machined. Escalated issue from Kia Protect from adjuster, supervisor and manager to no avail. Will be looking for a new vehicle from someone more reliable that stands by their product.

We purchased a 2008 Kia Rio for our son to use before he graduated high school. In the 3 1/2 years since it has, it barely had 30k miles on it. Our son reported while driving it 2 weeks ago, that it jolted and he thought he had a blowout, but upon checking it, the tires were good. However, the right front wheel was free to float forward and backward in the wheel well. The Kia technician was quick to advise us that the person we had who welded the control arm did a poor job and it broke. He was immediately advised that the car was purchased new and other than oil changes, it has never been mechanically worked on. The service manager said they would submit it for warranty approval. Two days later, it was denied and we were informed that the operator hit something and broke the control arm. What happened to the expert opinion stating a bad welding job to breakage caused by damage? This isnt my first time around the block and I know when smoke is being blown up my shorts. The denial came from a supposed Kia rep. The Albuquerque Kia ran me around for a week to even get this information from them and would not follow up on information leaving me to them. One of their people even had the ignorance to even say aw boo! What was that supposed to mean? But they have my car and I understand what a mechanics lean is.

I purchased a used 2008 Kia Rondo in Houston, Texas in May of 2009. It had around 38,000 miles on it but appeared to be in a very good shape. About a month ago, which was in October, 2011, the air conditioner started blowing only hot air. I brought in to West Side Kia in Katy, TX and was told that I needed a new air conditioning compressor and it would cost me $1,300 to fix it. My car is out of warranty because it has around 62,000 miles on it. The service advisor told me that I need to consider whether or not I want to put that kind of money into my Rondo or just trade it in for something new. My God, the car is only 3 years old! I was in shock.I asked the service advisor if this was what the quality the consumer should expect--only three years use of a Kia before having to trade it in? I asked him how a car so young would already need a new air conditioning compressor. What made matters worst was I was approached by two very pushy sales people, one of which, I told that if I had to buy another car, it certainly would not be a Kia. Ive had cars that have had over 150,000 miles on it with air conditioners that still worked like they did when the car was brand new. I was also informed that a Kia cannot use anything but Kia parts and because of this, the cost of a new compressor was triple what a regular one would cost me. It seems to me that there is something very wrong about this. I feel as if Ive been ripped off and I cannot afford to buy another car right now.

Below is a letter I sent to the KIA corporation on behalf of my father.Good day, my name is Brent ** and Im currently deployed to Afghanistan. Last year, my father purchased a brand new Kia Sorento from Shottenkirk in West Burlington, Iowa in 2010. He has a home in Burlington, Iowa but due to his job, he works in Maryland so as you can imagine he travels frequently between the states to see family. The first time my dad showed me his new Kia Sorento, he was extremely happy with his purchase as was I for reliability and safety options that came with the vehicle. Ive been reading numerous reviews regarding the Kia brand, so I felt extremely comfortable about my fathers new purchase. Being deployed, Ive had time to review different vehicles for myself when I return home from deployment. I have seen and driven the Kia Sorento and I consider it to be one Im seriously considering on purchasing. I like the design, power and third row seating with all the luxury amenities that come with the Sorento. Ive mentioned this to fellow co-workers deployed with me who are also looking for a vehicle when they return back home and Ive been able to sway them to consider the Kia Sorento as well.In early September, my father was driving home from Maryland back to Iowa. The vehicle stopped working, there was a problem with the engine thus leaving my father stranded at night. He had to call a tow truck that took him and the vehicle to the nearest Kia dealer, Coughlin Kia of Newark, Ohio, 43055. There my father was provided an Enterprise rental car to continue his 550 mile trip back to Burlington, Iowa. That week he needed to head back to Maryland to go back to work. Unfortunately, his vehicle was not fixed so he could not pick it up on the way to Maryland. During the week, my father had to drive 400 miles to pick up his vehicle and pay for the rental car.As an Acura owner, I too had a problem with my transmission around 55,000miles and the vehicle was about 4 years old at the time. My Acura required a new transmission. The Acura dealership provided me with one of their vehicles while mine was being fixed until I was ready to pick-up. There was no charge for a rental car and the service I was given by Acura was top notch.I dont want to discredit the Kia brand based on the service provided by the Kia dealerships my dad interacted with. Im disappointed to hear that Coughlin Kia of Newark did not compensate my father for the entire rental vehicle knowing my father had to drive hundreds of miles to pick it up then back again. My father informed Shottenkirk in West Burlington, IA - where he purchased the new vehicle. Shottenkirk didnt try to mitigate the situation or help compensate him for the rental vehicle. My father did not ask for gas or per dime for his troubles as I would have. He just asked for full reimbursement for a rental vehicle and was denied.I believe this type of treatment of your new Kia vehicle owners will destroy the brand. I believe you have a great product that may need refinement. However, with the treatment of your Kia customers I find it extremely disturbing as a brand. Can this please be rectified with my father as soon as possible? I dont care if one of the mentioned dealerships listed above or Kia company itself reimburses my father for the rental car but that would be the least any of you could do.Update Dec 2011. Kia denied to reimburse my father the full claim for a vehicle rental which was less than $200.00.

So the motor has to be changed out and replaced. Been calling KIA affairs since January 13th 2015 now it is January 27th still the run around. Being passed through their agents having a car that Im paying for that I cant drive. It has been over a month so KIA customer affairs are no help. They arent doing the job for the customer.

Dont ever buy Kia. Kia has the worst after sales EVER and they sell you car
Dont ever buy Kia. Kia has the worst after sales EVER and they sell you cars whose tires feather within 6 months - Nexen Tires. Dont ever buy with Kia. They suck and their useless experience has been bad bad bad bad bad. Kia SA will point blank refuse your request and maintain that they wont replace or meet you half way, if your tires are feathered after 6 months of purchasing a brand new car. Never mind if you bought the whole car including the tires, and you had crap service from the onset. They WONT meet you half way, they dont care about their customers. All they can say is Were sorry and thats it. They dont care about customer service and after sales services is putrid to the point of vomiting. Kia Paarden Eiland Cape Town should close down and Kia SA should get a new Customer Care Manager. Rather buy BMW, AUDI or even Nissan or Chevrolet - youll get much much better service. Kia will never come near anyones coat tails. They are useless.
