My car has 105000ks. I have had it serviced regularly. Around town it doesnt seem to burn oil, both when I take it for longer drives the oil consumption is excessive, I needed 2 quarts for 600k. I have had it examined and nobody seems to understand why. I cannot drive the car farther than 50k as I do not trust it. I contacted Kia but they told me I am on my own.

I noticed about a year ago that my backseats were wet. I thought my child spilled water. However, they were really wet again about three weeks ago. Within the next couple of days the floorboards were soaked. It has rained a lot lately. Someone rarely sits back there so no telling how long this has been going on. I called the dealer and made an appointment on Friday for Monday morning. I was told I would need to pay an evaluation fee of $125.00. I have read that this is a problem with this car and other Fortes. They said it was the seal in the tail lights. Of course not covered by the warranty. They have replaced my tail lights in the past. How do I know that they did not cause this when they changed them. My car is so wet it fogs up and ice is on the windows in the mornings. They replaced the seals and sent me on my way ($230.00). I got home and noticed that the tire well (with no spare tire) was full of water. I cannot get this water out of my car. Also realized that my back windows will not roll down. I have done regular maintenance on this car at the dealer since I purchased it. You would have thought they would have noticed this when they do their inspections or when they changed the bulbs. I think they knew this was a problem with these cars. They should have done a recall or at least tell you they need to be replaced after a couple of years. Now my car is ruined and I will never get this mold out of my car. I purchased this car in April of 2013 (almost six years ago). While I was waiting for my car to get finished they had a salesman trying to get me to buy another car. He was trying to say that the sun caused the seals to go bad. Dont know what makes them think I would buy another Kia ever after this. I took it back to the dealer that night asking for suggestion on how to get all this dripping water out of my car. The back seats of rust stains now from the water. The trunk is growing mold under the carpet and on the well hole. They are suppose to call me back today. I have not heard a thing from them. They should have paid for this to be fixed. Had I brought it in the first time it would have been still under the warranty. I have been a loyal customer. I have replaced my tires twice there (which the first set went bad right after the warranty was out on them too). I have the weather mats in the car and in the trunk. I am in the trunk a lot. The mat was never wet. I had no reason to pull it up and look in and see that everything under it was wet and moldy. I did notice a mildew smell a few times in the car. A coworker asked me about a month ago if I had had any real problems with my car. If I had known about this I would have told him to stay away from Kia. I paid cash for this car and cannot afford to make payment on another one but if and when I can, IT WILL NOT BE A KIA. Shame on you Kia!!! I have seen several post about this problem on different websites. You know this is a problem and have done nothing about it.

So I bought a car back in 2014. I was happy, after years of looking for wheels, I got some! It was a 2012 Kia Rio for 12000. I didnt want a car but the salesmen said that I could get a car and in 6 months come back and get a truck I wanted at a lower payment. So in 6 months I came to find out it doesnt work like that. So Im stuck paying 371 for a car I didnt want. Well 2 years down the road, I hit hard times. I lost my house and it was just mayhem. I tried talking to them and they said they would give me an extension after paying 2 months for a 2 month extension. So I borrowed the money and called back when they told me to. All I got was a robot who would hang up if I ever asked for a person. This would go on for a couple of months of doing the same thing. Then they gave me a consultant who wanted to help. Heres another two months I again borrowed for the last time I could. He said call back in a week. Call him he said.I did with the number he gave me when he told me to call. When I talked to him he acted like he didnt know me and directed me to someone else. There was nothing to do. 5 months in and they told me that I either needed to give them 2 months for an extension or they will take it. I said I cant pay. They said its registered as a stolen vehicle. I told them where to get it they said my address doesnt exist. I told them I brought it to my job. They said they were going to get it with the police. Still sitting there for 2 weeks now. Do not trust Kia. They will take your money and never help you. Be very warned.

The 2011 Kia Forte ran great for 50K miles. Then, I guess I hit a rock - thats what the dealer told me - that apparently damaged the transmission fluid line underneath the car. They fixed it and told me the transmission was fine. So 1,250 miles later, the tranny locks up in 4th gear. Now, Kia is telling me that I should call my insurance company to take care of this. I told them, “No way. You guys told me it was fine. Now, you want to backtrack and blame the so-called accident.” Now, they’re saying if their metal in the bottom of the filter, then its on me. I dont think so.

I am seeing a lot of these comment and thinking they are really over exaggerated. When you go through like 5 or 6 cars in a year or so my thought is what are you doing to each of those cars to ruin them. I bought my 2012 Kia Soul brand new with less than 12 miles on it. I had o e sensor go out about a year after I bought it and the dealership replaced it through my warranty with no issues. Other than, that it is great. Great sound, quiet, good get up and go (2.0 engine) and it fits a lot in it. If you do a lot of hauling get an suv but even with the seats up I can still get a lot in. It has 36000 miles now and still going strong. Highly recommend Kia. EVERYONE I know that has one loves it.

I would stay away from Kia vehicles as their engine build has proven to fail. There were recalls on Kia Optima engines, which my husband own and had engine failure. Recently my 2010 Kia Forte engine has failed. Less than 10 years old 120k miles, bought new, service and repairs all done at dealership and suddenly engine goes out. Called Kia and their customer service is rude as ever. My family will never again purchase a Kia.

I just want to start by saying that I am a very friendly person and I always have a smile on my face, but I am not happy with Kia right now. I own a 2012 Kia Sorento. It is my familys only vehicle. We are a family of four. On Friday, August 5th, my family was driving from our home in California to visit my mother in law for her bday at her home in Nevada. Two miles from the Nevada state line our Kia just stopped in the middle of the 15 Freeway and luckily my husband was able to swerve it on the shoulder of the freeway. We waited for nearly 2 hours for a tow to Henderson Kia (in Nevada). It was over 100 degrees that day. The tow was taking longer than expected so we were forced to leave the keys to the Kia on the floor mat and leave the vehicle for the tow company and find a way to get to my mother in laws home. Once the Kia finally arrived at Kia Henderson we were told that the service department could not even look at it until Monday morning, August 8th. I had requested a rental and was declined. This was a necessity as we had no transportation while in Nevada and no way to drive the 300+ miles back to CA so that we could work on Tuesday, Aug. 10th and get our daughters to their first day of school. We paid over $400 in car rental costs for 4 days use of a vehicle. Henderson Kia notified us on Monday, Aug, 9th that our engine needed to be replaced. We were shocked. 72,000 and a perfect maint. records. All of which we supplied to Henderson Kia. Due to this we were approved for a new engine. On Wednesday, Aug. 11th, I again requested Kia provide a rental vehicle. Henderson Kia told me to call Kia Consumer Affairs and Kia Consumer Affairs told me to take it up with Kia Henderson. Finally, a rental was approved and I triple verified that I would have the rental during the duration of the repairs and could use it to drive the 300+ miles back to Nevada when my vehicle was ready. Fast forward to today. My vehicle is ready and Henderson Kia is stating that my rental vehicle is only valid until today, September 1st. I am beyond livid. Especially since the contract between Henderson Kia and Enterprise Rental Cars states that my rental is valid until Septemeber 30th. Does Kia really think my family can just leave work and school and drive back to Nevada from California - on Labor Day weekend no less? I have already given Henderson Kia my arrival date in Nevada of Friday, September 9th. My engine is under warranty. This is a Kia flaw not any damage my family has inflicted on the engine. Henderson Kia is expecting me to return my rental vehicle to my local Enterprise today. If I do that, how will I get home? How will my children get home from school? How will I pick my husband up from work? and most importantly, how will we be able to drive back to Nevada to pick up our Sorento? It floors me all of this back and forth with Henderson Kia and Kia Consumer Affairs. I have saved all of my 20 plus emails with Henderson Kia. As of this moment, my family is still in limbo and Henderson Kia is saying that it is only Kia Consumer Affairs that can extend a rental car and Kia Consumer saying it is only the individual dealership. Please help. Thank you for listening.

I hope this follow up gets posted also. The car went back again to the dealer Grieco Kia for the Air Conditioner once again. The fuse keeps blowing after replacing the compressor on it. They have had the car since August 22, 2013, and it is now September 1, 2013. They have changed 3 parts on the Air Conditioning system and still, the fuses are blowing and they have driven the car approximately 500 miles of testing our car. They claim that they need to drive the car 100 miles each time they put a new part in. I never heard of such bull. They are doing this so we dont get the car back and bring it back again, because if it goes back 3 or 4 times for the same problem, we can return the car under the Florida Lemon Law. This is why they have not returned our new car to us as of yet. The funny part is that we are making the monthly payments on the car and they Grieco Kia is driving our car all over. The longer this goes on with our new car, the more I am telling people not to buy a Kia or any other brand cars that Grieco Kia sells.

Leased a Kia Sorento early 2016 brand new. No problems that I noticed other than the engine oil got dirty and more dirty every time it was changed. Shortly after my oil was changed the last time, the engine started making a clicking noise then it all of a sudden blew. Dark smoke came out the exhaust. The car cut back on long enough to get home then it didnt cut back on. Had Kia tow it to get maintenance only to have the warranty company refused to pay for repairs. Was told that there was sludge in the engine and was asked to provide service receipts, which I did. I am not a rich person to just pull 5000 dollars out of my pocket and pay for a repair especially if I am not at fault. I told Kia to take the car as a voluntary repossession. No word since. Im completely disgusted and now Im sure my credit is screwed. Something needs to be done.

KIA Picanto 2016 Dont trust KIA Motors! The first technical problem that occurred with the KIA was in August, the car was taken to the KIA service in order to fix the problem. I was told that the problem had been entirely fixed and would not happen again. However, after a month the exact same problem occurred. The car completely stopped in the middle of the road and the steering wheel locked making it impossible for me to move the car somewhere safe. I had two young children in the back and this situation could have easily caused an extremely serious accident with not just myself and my family but others on the road. The car was taken to the KIA service in order to fix the same problem once again. This exact same problem has now occurred three times and each time it has caused me an overwhelming deal of stress, money and time. I am extremely frustrated and angry with this entire situation, the problem had supposedly been dealt with, I am not comfortable driving this car anymore as it is clearly not up to road safety standards and would never want to risk putting the life of my children or others on the road in any kind of danger.

First off, I was a college student and wanting a new car with a warranty so then I wouldnt have to worry about having to pay extra for cars that I recently had that kept breaking down and I had to empty my pockets to keep running. I knew that I couldnt afford to get a loan for a better car and I looked in KIA and heard nothing but decent reviews about them. But from that start I got conned, I spent $14,000 for a new KIA with already 216 miles of test driving done on it and it was a manual with no bells and whistles, not even an air conditioner. But me being conned was my fault. I should have brought someone experienced in buying a new car with me, but fault still falls on them for taking advantage of me and not having ethics on their side of business. My next complaint is that I have automatic lights that I can just keep the switch on and the light automatically turns off. But when the cold weather of the winter time hits me, my light somehow miraculously turns back on and kills my battery. I called in and told them about my issue just 3 months after me purchasing my brand new car and they said that there was nothing to do about it. I wrote in several complaints over and over to the company and still nothing happened. Now, Im stuck with a battery that has gone completely bad from all the times that I have had to push start or get jump starts from. I will never buy another KIA as long as I live.

Hi there, I have a Kia Rondo 2014 LX 4cl. that has only 13000km. My fuel consumption is enormous, I cant go under 14,8 l/100km in the city! There is a problem here. Does anyone has the same problem as I do? I think Kia is cheating on us, as they say the average consumption in the city should be around 10.5l/100km. Im definitely very angry. Kia has been condemned before for false information about the fuel consumption on other models. So can anyone with a Kia Rondo 2014 and the same problem contact me? I had the same issue with my 2011 KIA SORENTO. When I went to have my vehicle checked out in April 2013, no service indicator lights were on the dashboard. I actually went in due to a knocking noise when starting it. I was told I needed a new engine due to personal negligence. This information was determined at the second KIA dealership in Highland, Indiana. The first one I went to, in Calumet City, Illinois didnt want to service my vehicle at all even though I was just under the 60,000 mile warranty. My odometer was at 59,000 miles, give or take a few miles. They told me maybe Highland can take my car. Anyway, that same day and right after they turned my car away, I drive to Highland and Im told there is oil sludge everywhere and I need a new engine. At this point Im confused because my oil light and/or engine light was not on nor have they flashed or been lit up on the dashboard ever since I owned the vehicle. The mechanic at Highland was saying I never got my oil changed and even bad mouthed my husband when I said I didnt drive it often enough to know what was being done to my car.Anyhow, my husband and I can confirm that the oil has been changed. However, the auto shop we frequently use can only provide 1 year worth of receipts. The cars been sitting for about 8 months now. We could hear it getting worst as we were managing our money to have the engine replaced in 2013. We didnt want it getting worst while we were saving up the $6000. So its been sitting in our garage for the last 8 months until last month when we finally had the $6000 to get the engine replaced. That being said, our auto shop can only provide receipts for 2013 maybe one receipt for 2014. I got the car used in April 2012. So the car was serviced with oil changes from about July 2012 throughout 2013 and maybe one month at the beginning of 2014.My husband kept saying he never seen an oil light. After he brought it to my attention, I realized Id never seen an oil light either. We both can confirm having the oil changed as well as paying for an oil pan replacement. And not once did an oil light come on!! So we spent $6000 for an engine just recently at KIA and on the way home from the dealership, after dropping $6000, our car dies out! At this point, Im livid, and of course the dealership was closed and the next day was Sunday so I had to wait until Monday to call KIA. That Saturday evening we have our friend, a professional auto mechanic, come over to check out the car to give us his opinion on why the KIA died out on the way home from a $6000 engine repair job. He says we need an alternator! When I call KIA to explain what happened, the service guy says nothing was wrong with it when it left their service department. Our recommendations, written on the receipt, only described us needing new tires. Needless to say I am not trying to deal with KIA, so we let our friend, the professional auto mechanic, replace our alternator and while hes doing the job, he notices a bunch of screws missing!! Now Ive got to call KIA about that. Our friend explained that if everything isnt screwed in place that our car will start rattling and itll cause even more damage under the hood. Cant wait to hear KIAs excuse as to why they didnt screw everything back in where its supposed to be screwed in.

I have owned my Kia since May 2006 had it now for a little over five years. I too, like many other, called Kia consumer assistance line the first few weeks after purchasing the car from Kia Country in South Carolina. Like everyone else, I thought I got a deal and the sales people were really nice too, until you sign the paperwork and they put the keys in your hand. That is when all of the problems begin.I complained of the paint peeling. They told me that there was nothing that they could do, so I let it go because it wasnt very noticeable, but that was my mistake. After that, more and more problems began to occur like the blinker lights blow out every couple of months. Twice, they blow out at the end of the drive way. I brought my car right back to them and all they did was replace it, but the very last time, I refused to take my car back until they did some further investigation. They did, and the results were that they had a short, so I went. After another couple of months, they blew out again. The air bag light comes on and goes off. They were supposed to fix it again, but like everything Kia supposedly fixed, doesnt last very long but only a few months. My chamber and chassis cannot be aligned per tires, plus I brought the 3 year alignment when I purchased new tires from them last year, but have never had a proper alignment. They suggested that I take it to the dealer. I took it to the dealer in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011. All of these existing problems, the dealer did not fix or dont want to produce paper for.Now that the warranty is no longer effective, they want me to pay for all of the problems that were never addressed by corporate or the dealer Stokes Hodges Kia of Augusta, GA customer service. They have had about 4 or 5 managers since the purchase of my car. I was considering buying another Kia some time ago, but with the many ongoing problems I had with my Kia, I would never buy another Kia ever in life. You have poor customer service. You guys have left a bad taste in my mouth. I want rest until justice is serviced.

My 21 year old gr-daughter bought this brand new Kia. Put $4,000 down, financed $19,000. Car started to accelerate. Took it back to Monroeville Kia. They kept it from July 5th till middle of August. No rental car, nothing and insisted there is nothing wrong with it. Kara **, my granddaughter, was so afraid to drive it again as she was almost in accident and said take it back 1500 miles on it. KIA is by far the worst company to deal with. The vehicles are horrible, and their warranty is a scam. I have had issues with my KIA Stinger since day one, and it has been nothing but fight after fight to get warranty work done. I have had 3 dealerships and multiple reps at their so called Premium Care division. The reps at corporate are all rude, and act as if they are doing you a favor. They do not care that the car has issues, and blame the dealers. I have had to get the Attorney Generals office involved with a consumer fraud case as well. Do yourself a favor and stay away from KIA. Their vehicles look good on paper, but they are cheaply made and will have many issues.I purchased 2 new 2018 vehicles, both the top of the line KIA has to offer, and they are nothing but trouble. One issues after another. We have a Honda CRV that is 4 years old and has never had to make a visit to the dealer for an issue. Better to have a shorter warranty on a reliable car, than to have to have the car at the dealer every week. As of this writing, my car has been at the dealer for service for 70 days and counting. They still have no idea how to fix the issue. And all this time I am expected to continue to make payments while not having a car for over 2 months. Please do yourself a favor and do not buy KIA. Just do a little research and you will see all the issues these vehicles have. I wish I had done better research before purchasing.

My mother was driving her 2010 Kia car when the gear stick came right out in her hand! Imagine what a shock that was, when she was just left with the stick. My father had to come and pick her up. Shed had to be driving the car slower as the gear wasnt working and she ended up causing a traffic jam. When she could finally pull over into a safe area, she let Kia know. They told her to bring the car to them! She explained calmly that she wasnt going to drive a car with a non-functioning gear stick. The lady on the other end of the phone tried convincing her that she should just go really slowly. Unbelievable! When my mother became angrier and asked them if they really expected her to drive the car, another man came on the phone and tried the same tactic. My mother said they needed to come and get the car. Surprise, surprise; there was no one available. And, to add to this, apparently the gear stick doesnt form part of their 7-year warranty anyway! Now, maybe its just me, but Im thinking theres something really fishy about that. How convenient! She asked them what came in the warranty then, shed like to know for the future!Never mind that she has had continual problems with Kia before and even that very morning when she had gone to get her car fixed after something had fallen off the front, they didnt have the correct parts when she went so that was a wasted journey. It was as if everything was supposed to happen that day in order for us to realize that Kia is a very dodgy company. I agree with the other reviews here: a shoddy company, with shoddy parts and shoddy customer service. They dont help you; they mess you around, and their warranty is very shaky as they try to wriggle out of whatever they can. Shell be getting rid of this car as soon as she can and well be spreading the word about this not-fit-for-purpose company!

My 2012 SX was a problem from the start. I brought it in a couple of months after I owned it for detonation noise/turbo rattle (sounds like marbles in a can) in the engine. Kia told me it was normal, and ignored it. Then, about 2 months later, the engine blew the spark plugs apart, and I lost almost all power. I limped it back to the dealership on what seemed like it was driving on 2 cylinders. Kia only replaced the spark plugs, even though they looked like they were melted - obvious detonation damage. Kia refused to do any other diagnostics, because, It runs fine now with new spark plugs. Not long after that, after hooking my small camper up (1,155 lbs), the engine completely failed while on the freeway. It blew a hole in one of the cylinders, and melted all of the spark plugs. Kia then claimed my camper was too heavy and refused the warranty, even though the vehicle is rated to tow 2,000 lbs. I hired an attorney, and it has been almost a year, and the state of Michigan had to step in to get them to come to the table! Its now the end of April, 2013, and my car has been dead since July of 2012. Do not buy a Kia!

Bad after sales performance - my bad experience with KIA Cerato (Controller had broken down). This is Dr. Hamdy **, Professor of Electronics Engineering, from Cairo, Egypt. I bought a KIA Cerato. I was surprised this week when the car stopped suddenly while I was driving on my way to work. I called the KIA Egypt maintenance services, and they carried the car into the service location (official KIA location). After inspection, they told me that the controller has broken down. Actually, I was surprised because the car is a brand new one and has only about 30,000 kilometers on it. However, I periodically avail myself the traditional service for the car at the KIA official place, and the last one was about two weeks only. Now, it would cost me more than 1,000 USD since this car was delivered from Saudi Arabia to Cairo in Egypt. I was shocked to find out about the price to fix the controller. The car is brand new. I have had many brand new cars before, but I did not face any problem such as this one. I asked them to please try and fix this problem because it leaves a very negative feedback about KIA (and the marketing in Egypt is huge for KIA). The car is located now at the KIA service branch - Elsaba Auto Service (250 Industrial Zone, Zahraa El Maadi, Cairo, Egypt / Tel and Fax: +2 2516 2518, +2 2521 8393 / Date of Service: 30 Jan 2013 - 03 Feb 2013).I got a response from KIA regarding this complaint that I submitted yesterday: “Kindly be informed that the service center will make a discount for the changed part. The warranty covers the sold cars by official agent in Egypt as it announced and known in the market.” This is a fatal fabrication design mistake in your design kit, and I will not excuse KIA designers for this mistake (“hardware designer for solid state parts”), and I will not advise anyone to use it. My advice to KIA customers is to stop using this car.

My wife was driving down the road and our 2011 Kia Sorento just shut off. She barely made it to the side off the road. When she tried starting it back up the starter fried. We replaced the starter change the oil and air filter along with putting synthetic oil in it. It has always had a whining noise when you drove it and now it has a peck in the motor. Dont know whats going on but cant afford to take it back to the dealership. Does anyone know what the problem could be. Im just disgusting with this car.

Kia Stinger GT-2 is competing well with sport type BMW and Audi vehicles for about 2/3 of the price. It is high performance throughout- high horsepower dual turbos, higher torque, five driving modes that alter engine and suspension parameters, 8-speed transmission, AWD with a 60/40 split favoring the rear wheels, deluxe Merlot leather interior, all available safety features, and a Harman Kardon 650 watt 15 speaker stereo to boot. However, road tests reveal 0-60 mph in 4 seconds or less and its speed limited to 188 mph contrary to the manufacturers numbers. Also, its three grand to replace the monitor, etc. and labor rates at dealerships are usually $120/hour or higher. Nevertheless, I love driving it and am learning the features rather quickly as they are quite intuitive and the manuals quite helpful. I opted for the extended bumper to bumper 10 year/100,000 mile warranty because of the heavy reliance on complex computer and electronic technology.

DO NOT PURCHASE A KIA - Kia Motors America IS AWFUL! I bought a car from Peak Kia in Colorado Springs, CO in July 2018 right after my husband returned from his deployment. It has since been in the shop since Jan 14, 2019. They have never fixed the initial issue of it not starting properly and have found various other items wrong with the car. I contacted Kia Corporate about a buyback (not lemon law) in February 2019 and they said they would process it and to send the paperwork. I did this in March 2019. Kia Corporate has escalated my case to upper management and the representative has called me two times since the case was assigned to him. He will not return phone calls or emails. The communication is not there and nothing is being done.Peak Kia has stated many times they do not know what is wrong with it; corporate refuses to do anything. I have been driving a small car since January when my vehicle is an SUV. We are still paying monthly payments on a car we havent driven since January. I have all items documented but both Peak Kia and Kia Corporate do not appear to care. I am sick of this and something needs to be done. Being called two times in 5 months by my case manager from corporate is absolutely ridiculous. If the vehicle cannot be fixed in 5 months, it clearly cant be fixed. It needs to be bought back or they need to take it back for what I paid and supply me with a new vehicle, as well as all monthly payments, insurance and inconvenience fees. Kia Motors America is the worst company- buyers beware!

I purchased new First Edition Kia EV6. The first editions came with a free home charger. Unfortunately, it was not with car when I drove it off the lot and the dealership had no clue on how to get it or even what the process was. I have contacted Kia corporate twice with no help and even contacted the company that is supposed to ship it with no help. No one at the dealership or at Kia has any definitive info on this program. Buyers of the EV 6 are left with being able to charge their cars at home. It’s an egregious process and someone at Kia needs to step up and give customers valid information.

With my new purchased 2016 Kia Sorento, the body lines do not match up where the drivers door meets!! The bottom half of the rear edge of the left front door sticks out and I couldnt get it fixed at your Lockwood Kia service. On 3 attempts even Kia Canada is involved... This is a big deal to me on a brand new $30k car.At the end despite their bumper to bumper warranty I am told that couple of inches is acceptable and there is nothing to do to correct it. How you can trust such a company if they are telling you it is acceptable to have problems on a brand new car. Is there anything acceptable on the brakes or engine? Stay away from Kia. Ive also replaced the transmission once, the headlights 6 times, the ball joints twice, & I still have vibrations in the rear end from the transmission! My car was booked in for a noise in the engine on 3rd Nov 2015. Heard nothing for 2 days even after leaving numerous messages as the lady dealing with it was either away from her desk, on a call or busy with other clients. Eventually got a call late Wednesday afternoon advising that they needed to strip the crankshaft which would cost R2300.00. I advised that I would check with my husband and call them back. When attempting to call them back late Wed afternoon no one answered the phone. I then received a call Thursday pm to confirm that could go ahead with the job. I confirmed it was okay. I heard nothing on Friday and when phoning Friday pm, none of my calls were returned. By now I was extremely peed off. I eventually got my husband to go to Kia Tokai to check on the progress of my vehicle. When he arrived the ladys attitude was, Why have you come to see your vehicle? He was then shown the problem with the vehicle and the mechanic explained what needed to be done, we were offered 2 options costing R3700 or R20 000. We agreed to the R3700. Were then told the parts could only be ordered from JHB on the Monday 9th. We then received no update on our car at all. I then tried to speak to the manager of Kia Tokai who was in a meeting when I called at 9 am on Thursday. 12th Nov. I called throughout the morning and left 3 messages in total. He never returned any of my calls. Eventually the service manager called me to enquire what my complaint was. I explained the whole story to him and he was going to check on my car and call me back. Surprise, surprise he did not call back. I eventually called him again at 3:30 pm. This is what I was then told: yes the part had arrived but did I not know that it can take 3-4 days for a part to arrive? How would I know this? They now need to check if the part is compatible with my vehicle, come on, get real. Do you not know what part to order? I must be patient and wait because while my car has been at their workshop they have booked other cars in as well which will be worked on first, dont I realise that the job on my car is a big one. How would I know this, I am not a mechanic. Am I not a client? Are some clients given special treatment? Yes my car is not under warranty anymore (was bought from this branch in April 2012) but I am a paying customer. By this time I was fed up and asked to speak to the manager again. I was put through to reception, who advised me to pls hold as he was on a call. I was placed on hold 3 times. The service manager then came onto the phone saying the manager was in a meeting and if my car could not be fixed by close of business Friday 13th then they would organise a car for me to use. What rubbish! I feel that I was put on hold so that the service manager could speak to the manager first. Was he really on a call or in a meeting because reception says his on a call and the service manager says he is in a meeting. What kind of manager does not take responsibility for his workshop and staff?Yes I understand that parts come from JHB, yes I understand that some jobs take time, but is it not possible for a person to keep a client updated as to what is happening to their car especially if it takes 11 days without a result. It is now 2:30 pm on Friday 13th November and to date no car, no call! Would never take my car back there again (if & when I get it back). Would never recommend Kia Tokai to anyone as I would not want them to have to endure such incompetence.

I own a 2014 Kia Sorento, and I love all the staff at the dealership where I have my car serviced however I will never purchase another Kia again. My car has just over 100K miles so I am out of my warranty. On 4/7/20 my left wheel speed sensor failed costing me $657.35. Then, (16) sixteen days later on 4/23/20 my fuel tank sensor failed, costing me $463.61. Then, on 5/6/20 my right wheel speed sensor failed cost me $513.32. In less than 30 days I spent almost $1700 on repairs. These sensors should not have failed like this. I have owned numerous cars and I have NEVER had any of these issues. Kia has a long history with these same wheel speed sensors failing specifically in the Sorentos and Sedona models. After many recalls on earlier models, now they only fail after the car reaches 100k.Kia advises me today that there is absolutely nothing they can do to help offset the cost of their failing parts. I was advised by the young lad on the phone that parts don’t last forever and cars need to repaired at times and that’s just how it is. Kia is a total disappointment and should be ashamed in how they treat their customers. Kia has been priding itself on how they have helped out during the pandemic, however their faulty parts put their employees, customers and me at risk on 3 separate occasions.

Car engine blew-up @ 50,811 miles on 12/08/2017, just had oil changed on 11/14/2017, car had 49,555 running perfectly fine. On 12/08/2017 husband arrives at work @ 7 am and all his co-workers were looking at him strangely as the car started to sound like a helicopter above. He backed into the parking space then shut down engine POW all the engine oil pours out, as co-workers supplied him to put cardboard under the engine, I called KIA roadside service for tow. They came and towed to KIA dealership and they are not taking responsibility. Im still under warranty. They are playing a blame game where I changed my oil saying its a faulty oil filter. Why is it I drove my vehicle just fine for 1,200 miles (3 weeks) and not a single drop of oil in my driveway, not a drop. Then a little drive up the road approx. 5 miles as every weekday to my husbands employment at 7 am it just blows up, he takes side streets not even the highway. Then the Dealer states there was no oil and no oil on dipstick, and engine light on. Duh... because its on the concrete at my husbands parking spot. Heres a pic at his work. If it were a faulty oil filter/gasket my engine would have blown way before. A lot of engine specialist say it sounds like the Pistons blew through the motor.KIA are crooks and need to be held accountable. I maintain my car, Im a disabled 57 year old with disabilities, this is my only way to get to and from my doctors and its making me have setbacks, I was in the ER on 12/13/2017 due to stress and anxiety and excruciating pain, an episode of my fibromyalgia. While in ER they also had findings that Im gonna need spinal surgery. My C-2 is fractured, I need my car or at least a rental, my finances are exhausted, I need surgery, follow ups, rehabilitation and have no car yet. Im still paying my car payments, providing insurance for my car thats $400 per month, plus I had to rent a car to get to and from neurosurgeon/husbands work/MRIS, that costed me $30 per day, I have to return it after my neurosurgeon appointment on 12/22/2017.Its disgusting that this Company KIA is so corrupt and is getting away with their defective Automobiles, when I started researching there are 1,000s of Kias blowing engines of cars with such a few miles, these are NEW cars we the people are paying good money for, why is it NO ONE WILL HELP US KIA CUSTOMERS AND MAKE THINGS RIGHT. THIS IS DANGERING MY LIFE... IM GETTING SICKER... MAKE ME WHOLE. See because the service writer gets commission if its not Kias fault, and zero commission if it is their fault. Makes sense?Meanwhile my health is declining for a selfish greedy company, youre telling me they have millions of cars sitting, some they sink and they cannot make things right and replace these vehicles. Yet we allow these cars to come to the United States to squeeze us dry selling defective Automobiles, so unfair. Since this all happened I want to know something, I often drive with my little grandbabies in my car, what if we were on the freeway??? And the engine died??? Would we all be alive??? PLEASE MAKE THEM ACCOUNTABLE! INVESTIGATE... INVESTIGATE. MAKE THIS RIGHT. Thank you and God Bless though driving KIAS... BEWARE.

I am a dissatisfied owner of a 2014 Kia Soul. July 4, 2015 I purchased a used 2014 Kia Soul with 4200 miles on it. June 2017 the engine blew up with 62261 miles on it. At this time I found out that there is NOT a 100000-mile powertrain warranty because I am the second owner. They dont tell you that when you buy it. I contacted Kia warranty service to submit my claim. Long story short, Kia not covering engine replacement because it is out of second owner power train warranty. I Had to pay to install a new long block engine into the Soul at the Kia dealership. $4322.00 for the engine and installation. Kia could not tell me what the mileage was when the Soul went into Service but only the date. According to Kia warranty, the second owner is 5 year 60,000 mile warranty from day and current mileage. So if my Soul had 2262 miles on it when it went into service, then my warranty would be to 62262 miles. Kia did not want to even talk about this. Just basically said, Sorry for your bad luck. Next I was told to file an complaint and I will be doing just that. It was determined at the dealership the failure was due to a blown head gasket which in turn allowed engine coolant to get into the #2 cylinder which caused the engine to lock up. Also the engine was free of any oil sludge and nothing was found to be neglected as far as maintenance. An engine head gasket should not blow on a well-maintained engine. Funny thing at the dealership when my engine arrived from their distribution center, I was told I was 4th in line to have an engine installed. Gee. Sounds like Kia has an engine failure problem. Guess they are not paying for anyones repairs!!! Poor customer satisfaction. Oh and Scott who I spoke with from Kia about the warranty, if you read this, this is not the way life is, consumers should not have to worry about their engine failing and be without a ride to work for 6 weeks and have to deal with arrogant warranty customer service person. My son has a Nissan with 145000 miles and it has only been to dealership for regular scheduled maintenance. Guess I will need to trade this Kia on a Nissan.

On 7 separate occasions in less than a month my car will not start. Not a battery problem. The case was escalated and the guy in charge said he doesnt listen to his voicemail (reason for not calling me back) and he will be out of the office the rest of the week. I have intermittent starting problems, sudden poor gas mileage and loss of power. Gas to the floor just to go 65. He said I should have it serviced. I explained the dealership just serviced it the first time it went in for the starting problem. He told me Kia doesnt warranty the gas mileage or power of the vehicle. He completely ignored me explaining that this is part of the problem to help them diagnose what to fix. The dealership says they cant test for the problem or fix anything until Kia authorizes them to do so. Plenty of mechanics can tell me from the symptoms it is most likely the ignition coil. I told this guy at Kia this and he said there is no test for that and without a test to confirm the issue they will not fix anything. I explained there is a test. He then changed his story to they will not test for that until there is proof that that is the problem. The test is the proof! This guy is a real jerk. I was stranded nearly 6 hours from home while my car would not start over the weekend and all they were willing to do is tow it away and leave me stranded with three dogs far from home! The dealership is no better to deal with because Kia wont authorize them to do anything to fix or diagnose the problem.

I bought a 2011 Kia Rio5 in the spring of 2011 from Kia Sudbury. Since then Ive had nothing but horror from the vehicle and nothing but the same problem over and over again. I spent 24.000 and the car is breaking from new to now with the same continuous problems. Ive had the mechanic at Sudbury Kia dent my car while being serviced and they denied it. Sudbury Kia does not sell the tires for the Car they sold me. They also do not offer wheel alignments which is sad when you want your winter tires out in or your alignment set after they do the inner barring 3 times on the same tire. Even after an alignment at Fountain Tire in Sudbury, My 2011 Kia Rio5 has blown 6 coil packs and a cylinder update from 30000 and till now. New radio 2 weeks after buying the car. Because the button paint cracked all over the deck Ive had the same cobweb in my rpm gauge because Kia Sudbury didnt want to take the dash apart after me just buying the car and noticing it shortly after. My inner barring has blown 3 times on the front passenger side of the car. The car wont stay aligned. Ive had Sudbury Kia Fix the lights in the interior of the car and got oil all over the roof and didnt install the right light and broke the other one and now it hangs there only because the guy couldnt put the light back into the ceiling of the car. The back latch on the car locked up because of a piece of foam Kia seals the back lock with. The foam breaks after a while and gets stuck in the door, leaving you without a rear door.If you boost the car it blows the fuses for the radio and lights, it doesnt start in the cold and if you turn the key every 20 seconds when it doesnt start it will eventually start. When that happened I brought my car to Kia Sudbury and they couldnt help me unless my car didnt start, which it didnt thats why I was bringing it to them, but no help at all. The car is no good on gas. If youre on the highway, the 4th gear stays on too long which leaves you burning gas a lot, the car now is almost finished at 115000. The car is not good and unreliable and costly. Kia damaged my car and didnt help me at all with getting to what was the problem. They just covered it up. My car is now a really loud, misfiring riding pop can that costs a lot.

I have received my 2nd safety recall on my 2010 KIA Soul which I bought brand new at Terry Reid KIA in Cartersville, GA. I had to relocate to Green Valley, AZ in 7/13 to come under the treatment of a highly specialized physician after becoming extremely ill as I was unknowingly put into a hazardous toxic mold environment at a resort which we eventually found behind all the wallpapered areas -- this facility had been infested with this toxic molds, come to find out, for years with no action being taken. I am now multi-chemically sensitive and cannot be in any dealerships where there are smells and odors as it will complicate my situation even further. I was just directly exposed to poisonous pesticides at my complex as management did not put up advance warnings as to when these would be used around my building and have been extremely ill as a result. I have a KIA Soul which must be repaired and am unable to get it to the closest dealership (over 1 hr one-way from me) due to my health conditions, and this will take at least 3 hours to repair. I have emailed KIA Consumer Services to get my car towed into Jim Click KIA in Tucson to get this unsafe situation fixed. I would have to stay with my vehicle in an environment that I cannot be in as this is being repaired; no one to pick me up here, etc. So, we will wait and see what KIA will do to help me with this dilemma.

In March of 2012, I purchased a new 2012 Kia Rio. Not long after having it, the radio would not read CDs. I had it in the dealer service department several times, and I would still have the same problem. The dealer finally decided to replace the radio with a re-manufactured one. The refurbished one that was put in was even worse than the original one. It would freeze up, go out, and do things without me touching it. Also, I would lose control of it, and it would even stay on after the car was shut off, key taken out of ignition, and car locked. I took it to another dealer to have them look at it. And after a long period of time of having problems with it, it was replaced again with yet another refurbished one. It worked okay for a while, and now all of a sudden, when turned on, there is no sound. There is no sound whatsoever when I run the volume knob up and down. I am fed up with Kia for their products and service! I will never buy another Kia! I am in the process of filing a lemon law claim with the BBB. They should buy this vehicle back after countless sorry attempts to fix the problem and Im still having trouble out of it!

I will start off with what everyone is thinking when reading these... Yes, I am only writing this because I am angry and if my experience was just normal I would probably not write anything, but they earned this. I am currently going through the passing of my mom and all the challenges that come with it. I returned her leased car 2 months early, even though she has multiple letters offering her deals to bring her car back early because it is in demand. Then I receive the bill in the mail weeks later advising she owes $950 for returning the car early and $65 for wear and tear which just seems made up. I attempted to discuss with them, but they said they would not talk to me if I am not on the account. I got the email to send the proof of what happened and sent in what was necessary. I sent it 3 times without any action. I called and finally got the one helpful person to help me with submitting these documents. A few days later I got a letter saying sorry for my loss and asking me what I plan on doing with the car. How is this not a joke? They had the car for over a month. I submitted a complaint to Kia America and after passing the 48 hour waiting period, I heard nothing. I just submitted an updated complaint as I just got another letter in the mail for my mom, thanking her for returning her car and another bill, as if they never interacted with me before. I guess they are playing ignorant to get to the strategy of what one of their workers said, Why dont you just ignore it for 120 days and then it will just go to collections. Thank you Kia, thank you for absolutely no help and adding more stress to the most stressful and sad time of my life.

Firstly, let me start off by saying this is in regards to the Kendall Kia located in Miami, FL. I was initially greeted by Anika, salesperson, who is a great girl with lots of sales potential. Eventually, I left the dealership in my new 2012 Kia Soul. One (1) month later, I had the pleasure of speaking with the owner, Mr. Rod Rifai, after being unsuccessful at receiving a call back from any available sales representative. That conversation was trying, to say the least. My question for Mr. Rifai was when could I expect to receive my tag, as my temporary tag was expiring the following day. Somehow, that simple question turned into a screaming match between the two of us. He attempted to insult my intelligence throughout the entire conversation. I had to raise my voice just to be heard over his tirade and this was from the owner of the dealership. At the end of the conversation, I was promised that following Monday that Mr. Rifai would personally investigate the delay with my tag and get back to me. To date, I have yet to receive my tag or a follow-up call from Mr. Rifai and I am now on my second temporary tag. For obvious reasons, I will never recommend this dealership to anyone after my experience with the owner. He should not be in the business of customer service and, in my personal opinion, a hospitality class would do him wonders.

I purchased an 09 Borrego in January. About 3 weeks after I got it, it just dies when I was rolling to a stop. I thought, Maybe I just didnt give it enough gas. Weird, who knows? Then it happened again in a drive-thru, a few times at a stop light, chugged while I was going uphill and downhill and died while I was driving on I-25. I was nearly plowed by numerous vehicles (More than one person in my family experienced this while driving). So, we took it in. The dealership acted like I was out of my mind. Drove the car for a few hundred miles and called and told me they couldnt get it to act up. I explained, at length, that nothing happened before it died or after so there was nothing they could do to replicate the problem. They had us pick it up. My husband drove the Borrego home on back roads as our daughter was following him and she doesnt drive in traffic. They never drove over 45 mph. The next day, I drove to work. Halfway there, the SUV starts shimmying. I drove back roads home. My husband figured it might be me feeling it more because I had been driving another car. SO, we hopped in and started driving. About 15 miles down the road, the Borrego shook too hard to proceed. My son switched vehicles with us and when he was backing the Borrego in - shocker- IT DIED. So, back o the dealer it went. They said the shaking was from mud on the tire assemblies (I found out in this convo that the mechanic had driven it hard over bumpy roads to see if it was a wiring issue). Again, they acted like I was nuts, but gave me a borrower car. They offered to clean wires to the ECM and give it back, but cannot explain why it dies. I refused to take it back. They had an engineer from Kia out and offered to put a special computer on it so the next time it does it, they can tell why. All that has to happen is for someone to drive the thing and pray they dont get killed the next time it happens. They told me nobody had heard of the problem before, yet I found complaint upon complaint about this happening in Borregos and various other Kia models. So, then today I get a call from the service manager at the dealership. He asked to drive my car over the weekend (I hesitate to let them drive all over as I had to pay a lot of money for a mileage limited warranty which they are eating away at the mileage of). Little did I know until I got a call from the dealership manager that the service guy was planning to drive the Borrego all the way to Kansas (a state and numerous hundreds of miles away). The manager then informed me that to trade out of the Borrego, I would need several thousand dollars down because of the length of time in this vehicle and the depreciated value! I have had the POS 5 months! He told me he remembered me having to roll negative equity into the loan on the Borrego - huge joke - I didnt trade anything in on it! I was asked if it had lights flicker before it died, um-NO and I would have said so. Did it happen while braking? Again - NO and I would have said so. Bottom line, Kia has several models that die without warning and nobody seems to know how to fix it. It is dangerous. My husband asked the dealership manager how hed feel putting his loved ones in this vehicle knowing the car could stop running and someone could be killed? His response was Of course I wouldnt want to. Why would you even go there and say something like that? Well, KIA and dealership, wed ask because we face it every time we get into the defective vehicle you manufactured!

I purchased via bank loan a 2008 KIA Sorento SUV Ex AWD in January 2016, sold to me for about $9,995.00 with 60,000 miles. I probably still owe about $7.000.00 to the bank. Initially when I first drove it, my son-in-law noticed it had a loud noise. I accepted the noise coming from the rear considering it was just the design of the car. Not yet one year, I have a continuous unresolved check engine light, that no mechanic shop could resolve, which eventually meant, to take it to the dealer for resolve. The mechanic there could not find its problem, because repairs made previously for the specific code for the unresolved check engine light. So mechanic at Dealership resets the light to off, but mentions, my model year vehicle had a 2010 technical service bulletin (TSB-023) that the rear differentials can be bad in this model year vehicle causing bearings to wear out, and recommending new rear differential replacements. So I find having a bad rear differential is unsafe to drive. That Toyota issues Recalls for bad Rear Differentials. But KIA gets away with not having to issue Recalls, only Technical Service Bulletins for bad Rear Differentials? The Dealership was aware by receipt of Technical Service Bulletin issued in 2010, that this car could have this problem. As consumer, I am not a mechanic, and kept in the dark for a bulletin I would have to buy to learn all the faults about my model year car. How is it one manufacturer (KIA Manufacturing) does not have to issue recalls for Rear Differentials? That is why it became issue for Technical Service Bulletins because so many KIA models have this problem. But is not a recall? And yet, bad rear differentials are recalls with other manufacturers.I researched my car prior to deciding to purchase it. I found no repairs, nothing major performed on the vehicle, leading to me, I had a sound car. But it also answers it wasnt inspected for the Technical Service Bulletin issue. No mention about any inspections for recommended Technical Service Bulletin issues. Advise all consumers purchase a technical service bulletin for your used car you ever decide to buy. Not every issue is decidedly recalled. Although with other car manufacturers, a bad rear differential is recalled because it jeopardizes safety, i.e. Toyota. And how KIA apparently doesnt have to recall their 2008 KIA Sorentos for bad rear differentials, which are proven common issues with this model year car makes me question are they allowed to have numerous KIAs with bad rear differentials in Technical Service bulletins and not have this issue as recalls? One person had their KIA wheels lock up suddenly while going down hill, and the vehicle slid sideways when the wheels locked up. What I am really getting to... it this practice allowed? Make every issue a Technical Service Bulletin, even if it jeopardizes safety? Or, is it up to the manufacturer to determine what issue is safe or unsafe? I just feel like I am being deceived and puts my car at risk to my life and the lives of others on the highway because of possible deception or fraud.

I bought a new 2011 Kia Sorento. I have always had a problem with the acceleration. It does not happen all the time, but now it is more frequent. I have tried to cross the highway, and when I accelerate, it is as if the car has gone dead. It will not accelerate. It will eventually get gas, and move. This is very scary, since I never know when it is going to happen. I only have 20,000 miles on it. I really wish I had not purchased a Kia. Kia mechanics cannot find the problem. I have changed type of gas, with no help. I feel like I am driving a car waiting for an accident to happen!

I bought a 2019 Kia Sorento with only 35,000 miles on it. The car broke down after less than 2 months of use. It has been towed to the dealer and been sitting in their lot for over two months now. The week my car died, I also lost a family member and was unable to get to the hospital before he passed. The mechanic said they dont know what the problem is with it and they wont approve a rental until he can find the exact problem and they also will not approve a reimbursement for the rental. I have called them several times about the fact that I am making a car payment for a new car and additional fees for rental with no end in sight. I bought a new car specifically so I would not have these types of problems. This situation is completely unacceptable and I will never ever buy another Kia as long as I live. I honestly dont think the company even cares which is all the more frustrating.

I brought my car in for 15,000 miles maintenance. Alignment way off; told me they couldnt fix it 100%. I asked why and they said something must be bent. I asked them what? They replied they didnt know. Told me I had recall for front right axle. They had to order the part and would recheck wear on tires to see if their incomplete alignment caused any issues. So about a month later I brought it back in and they said wear was fine, replaced right front axle and I had hope that was the reason the alignment couldnt be fixed 100%. They knew I was going on over 2,000 mile trip for sons wedding. I have no shimmy, although alignment isnt 100%, it still seems to be okay. About 100-150 miles from destination, have EMTs pull up on right side of my car and roll down their window. We roll down ours and they point to my passenger rear tire and then angle their arm. We pull off immediately and sure as heck my passenger rear tire is bent inward at top, around 11 oclock. I drive 50 mph rest of way, check alignment and Im not pulling any worse than before. I call Kia Roadside assistance and they come tow my car to local dealership. They didnt look at my car immediately, but had only had it 2 hours and call me and let me know that my front passenger strut is bent (Why didnt the dealership notice this when they replaced the axle on that side, or when they couldnt correct the alignment 100%). If it took this dealership less than 2 hours to find the bent right strut, why didnt they find it? Why didnt they look. Supposedly going to cost me $680 plus tax to fix (Not under warranty... WHY??). I hit nothing, I ran over nothing. Is this possibly a recall issue, or should be a recall issue and due to strut being bent, it bent my back right tire inward. Supposedly once strut is replaced and car is realigned, my passenger rear tire will straighten out. Im not stupid. Maybe because Im female they think I am, but Ive worked on cars for over 25 years. Im betting that my rear passenger tie rod is bent. I even mentioned it at the dealership, in the service department, but they are adamant that itll be fixed once the strut is replaced and the car is realigned. They have already said that they could tell I didnt run over or hit anything, so why am I paying out of pocket anyway? Isnt it supposed to be under warranty? If the tie rod is bent, isnt that the fault of the dealership that did my original alignment and told me that they thought something might be bent, but didnt look for it? Then again when they replaced the passenger front axle (recall) and didnt notice it and still couldnt get it aligned? Shouldnt they pay for this? Im frustrated and angry, first for them treating me like Im stupid because Im a girl and girls dont know anything about cars... BS, and then when Im suggesting itll be more than just the strut, telling me that Im not qualified (another way to say that Im a girl and girls dont know anything about cars) to think that..... And they are the experts, yet they didnt even look for what they thought was bent. I mean they literally said we think something is bent and then didnt look for it. Whats wrong with that picture? Annoyed, from California and Stuck in Illinois until my car is fixed!!!

My Venga 1.4 purchased in Nov 2014 has not to date reached more than 30 mpg approx. It has just over 4000 miles on the clock and I keep getting fobbed off. I have been told Its not run in. When asked how many miles do I need to do no proper answer given. Its down to my driving or the roads I use. Strange I use a roads or motorways I have had a license for 50 years and have driven most cars on the road includes HGVs. No one seems to give me a proper answer. I do not expect 42mpg as they state but I do expect at least 38mpg. I have keep a spreadsheet and mechanics that have seen it and customer service say that it is not a good mileage. But to date nothing has been corrected. KIA good car I do not think so. I had a Ford Focus 1100 and I used to get far more mpgs in that. My son has a Ford Mondeo estate top of the range 2 liter engine and gets 38mpg in that. So what has gone wrong? Recommend KIA. No thanks.

Our 2012 Sorento was serviced by the KIA service department where we bought the car. We were driving in town at 35 mph when the engine just stopped. The engine had no warning lights and no noises. We luckily were near a parking lot and were able to coast in. Called the KIA service to receive the car and diagnose the problem. They tell us the main engine bearing failed and we will need a new engine. If this is a problem KNOWN to KIA, they should replace the engine for us. At no cost. We had a Subaru Forester for 260,000 miles with absolutely no engine problems! I think this needs more investigation.

Kia does NOT stand behind their 100,000 mile warranty at all. Bought 2006 Sedona new. Within 12k miles, both left and right turn signal lights going out all the time. Head lights burn out every other month. Front rotors and brakes need replaced, 12k and again and again. Bolts came up missing on sider door. Thermostat caused the check engine light to come on. NONE OF these item were covered! AC compressor went out twice, was fixed under warranty. At 60k, the Air bag light came on. Again not under warranty, 1500.00 to fix that. More headlights and turn signals all throughout the ownership of this Van. Rotors and brakes again. Blend door for AC and heat making a clicking sound in the dash. Valve covers leaking. Rattle and clunks in the front end now. Intermediate No start, No Crank, battery is good. All electrical items work with no crank no start. Found out this is a Junction box where all the wiring connect to along with the engine disable and key fob. Now the key fobs have to be reprogrammed at the dealer and they want anywhere from 52 to 80 dollars for that? This has to be one of the worst designed and most UNRELIABLE Brands on the road today.

My husband and I used a premium Oil Filter (Not Kia), and a few weeks later had a knocking in the engine. I took the car to a shop up the street and was told that since we used an oil filter that was not Kia, the filter caused metal in the engine which now needs to be replaced. I called Kia Consumer affairs and explained the issue. With all the information that was sent to me in 6 years, not one piece stated that you are required to use a Kia Oil Filter. The shop that I originally took the car to had to do some research and stated that there are bulletins out that are only around 2 years old. While speaking with Consumer Affairs, I was told that the car needed to go to a Kia Dealer to be diagnosed. I then had the car towed to a local dealer which stated the same thing. Now, the kicker, they will not help in fixing the engine because I am over the 100,000-mile mark. On top of that, I am now charged a tow bill and more diagnostic fees on top of what I already paid in which they will not pay for either (since they required the car to be at a dealer for assistance). I call and call and call the Consumer Affairs lady that I have been working with, and she will not return my call until I call the 800 number and tell them I need to speak to someone or I will be going to the local media as well as any social media avenue I can. The dealer that I purchased the car from will also not honor the Engine for Life that I signed unless I can provide all receipts from the last 5 years on any maintenance that I did on the car outside of a dealer (air filter, etc). I have recently been married and the account closed. AND - who keeps their receipts for 5 years on Air Filters?? This is not only poor customer service for a loyal consumer, but the lack of follow through with what you agreed to and signed upon purchase not being honored. Other Kia owners that I have spoken with are also not Aware outside of 1 to only use Kia Oil Filters.

After the issue was fixed, we attempted to drive it back home only to have the same issue happen a mile down the road. Now Kia is refusing to provide us with a rental car during the time that the vehicle is being transported back to us, which could take up to 10 days. Just wanted to vent in regards to the poor quality of my Rio. I bought it used from my local KIA dealership in February, 2012, and financed on a three year contract. On June 18, 2013, I was driving it in town and it just died on me with no warning. A policeman happened to be going by, and he helped me guide it to the side of the road and stayed with me to direct traffic until a tow truck could arrive. This was a dangerous situation and I am grateful that the policeman was there. I had my car towed to a mechanic my family has used locally for 30 years. The tow truck driver and policeman guessed that it was either a started problem or an alternator; I was shocked when the mechanic called me to report that my engine was gone and I would need to purchase a new one. Specifically, on the mechanics report, it stated that the car has suffered a catastrophic engine failure...cylinder has dropped a valve and there is damage to another cylinder. There was no possible way I could afford to buy a new engine, but a used one was located, which would have cost me $2700 for parts and installation. Being I still owed payments on the car until February, 2015, I knew I could not pay for the car plus the engine replacement. The mechanic volunteered that he hated to see me invest the money into replacing the engine because the car was just not worth it. He recommended I sell it for scrap, perhaps getting $400-$500. Unfortunately, being I was still owing payments on the car, the option of selling it was not an option. At this time, my KIA Rio had 97,000 miles on it. My next step was to contact my local KIA dealership and explain what had happened. I thought it was incredible that the engine had completely failed ~ I had kept up on oil changes and normal maintenance, even paying KIAs service department to replace a disintegrated gear shift four months after purchasing the car! Not once had I been notified that the engine had issues. The dealership did not address the engine dying problem, but rather tried to talk me into trading in the dead car and buying a new(er) one. This would have meant I would have had to add the remaining balance due on my dead car into the amount of my payments on a new(er) car, something I could not possibly afford. KIA did offer to replace my engine with a used one for $2200, $500 less than my mechanic quoted, but by this time I had spoken with friends in the car repair business who agreed that my Rio was not worth fixing. By searching online, I was shocked to read about the same problem other Rio owners had posted. Is this a KIA manufacturing problem? My family have owned many cars, various makes and models, running into high mileage, and have never had an engine completely fail like this. I cannot help but think this is a poorly made car and I do not understand why a recall was never initiated once it became obvious that many customers were losing engines. It makes me sick when I realize I am still responsible for payments on a car sitting dead in my garage. I honestly feel the engine failed through no fault of mine and I am furious that KIA is allowed to continue ignoring such a major concern of Rio owners.

The speedometer on my 2005 Kia Spectra sometimes doesnt read my speed correctly. The first time the incident occurred, it was almost 2 years ago. I only had the car for a day. While at the red light, the speedometer said I was driving 60 mph. When I started moving, it went up to 120 mph. The following day, I took the car back to the dealer, they checked it and explained to me that they couldnt find anything wrong with the speedometer. A week ago, today, I got a speeding ticket for driving 60 mph in a 40 mph zone. After getting the ticket, as soon as I started driving, I noticed the speedometer at 50 mph. I noticed immediately that the speedometer was acting up again. I stopped the car to confirm. After coming to a complete stop, the speedometer was still reading 40 mph and then the hand started slowly moving downwards. The following morning, I took the car in to my nearest Kia dealer where they checked it, said they ran a test and placed it on their computers but couldnt find anything wrong or any error codes so theres nothing they could do. Now I have to go to court, pay a speeding ticket, get points on my license all for something thats not my fault and something I cant fix nor the dealer can fix. So Im going to need Kia to fix this!

Was told take to Kia dealership, an electrical problem. Changed lite, burnt again, along with complete dashboard. Back to Kia, this time supposedly the hitch that was problem. Changed lites again, now dome lite. Then car went dead, boosted by a garage, told us was electrical, boosted 2 other times. Back to Kia, this time ripped out the quette, bypassed some wires, good to go. Lasted a week, headlite burnt, Kia changed again at no charge but the new lite was not working. On & on this goes. Of course warranty finished. Now burnt lites & message on dash saying check. Back to Kia. Now need to put Quette back, and 4-500$ to change wiring. They finally diagnosed. This has being going round & round since March. What a nitemare. Serviceman called ROCH extremely rude. Cannot provide order # as car is still @ garage. Awaiting the proprietors call. Am also awaiting the t.v. program J.E.s reply. My husband also bought & changed various lites. What a way to be treated. Be careful anyone buying at this garage. We firmly believe this was a undisclosed problem when we bought.

Now with 70,000, it needs tires again and the thumping area is the worst of the 3 tires. Now we will spend $550 for new tires. With that we always get rotation, balancing and front end alignments. We have all receipts but Kia will not call or email back and will not help at all.

However, even though looking at their paperwork and agreed it was done, told me my car is not under the stated warranty recall of Kia Rio 2006 to 2008 because they assemble it in 05. Needless to say Im very displeased. And he was unwilling to discuss a solution as it has never been taken care of. I remain with warning light. And I like my little car but dont think I would buy again or my family... as they are aware of problem and will not correct. And the person I just spoke to said that their dealer was a liar, when they said the sensor was located in front passenger seat. Funny as Kia replaced seat free of charge during first year... but with same issue. My hopes to finally have fixed right when I saw the make year and model of my car under recall for my issue got slammed down again. I remain with red warning light and no resolve.. And he was not a nice person to talk with either.

My Kia (2011 Sedona) less than 5 years old and less than 4000 kilometres over warranty. Rear oil seal leaking out of control. All my previous repair were done at a Kia dealership. Kia Canada and my Kia dealership more or less said I was screw and on my own. Will never buy another Kia again. My mission is to tell as many people as I can not to buy a Kia.

Bought a used Kia Sorento 2014 from the dealership back on January 2016. Sometime in December 2016 started having problems with the doors not locking. Did not have chance to bring it to the dealer to check until February. Apparently, something is wrong with one of the Fuse and they need to replace the entire Junction box. I thought this would be a manufacturing problem and it will be covered by Kia. Unfortunately, it is not and the cost would be $875.00. Warranty is over 1 year so it will not be covered. On top of that, the dealer charged me an additional $120 because I also mentioned to check the rear view camera because it stopped working.A word of advice, Kia will charge you an extra diagnostic fee for every problem you want them to check. Tell me if this is not a rip off. Unable to do the repairs because the cost is too high so my doors do not lock and my rear camera is not working. I would never purchase another Kia and would not recommend it to anyone.

In January 2008, I bought a 2007 KIA Spectra from Kia Brampton, with a 5-year or 100,000-km. warranty. All went well until December 26, 2012 when the vehicle was at 99,950 km. The oil light started to come on and off. It was towed to KIA Brampton where they declared the vehicle okay but proceeded to empty the oil and place clean oil therein. I was told to return the vehicle every week for check up which I did every week until March when KIA finally confirmed that the vehicle did have problem. Then they told me they will contact me after they get in touch with KIA Canada. In March, they took in the vehicle and claimed to change the rings, which they assumed was the problem. However, within two weeks, the same problem resurfaced and I took back the vehicle to KIA Brampton. The car was checked and we were told by the Service Manager that the change of the ring was a goodwill gesture and the warranty has expired and in general, when vehicles reach the end of the warranty, KIA seems to think that people want to con them to recondition the engine and hence they would not be able to help us. KIA Brampton recommended that we contact KIA Canada re the problem.I contacted KIA Canada about the problem and was told by the Customer Service representative, Malia, on May 24, 2013 that the KIA could not assist me because the vehicle has passed its warranty period. I refuted this of course on the basis that the problem with the vehicle was detected before the warranty period expired. I asked to speak to a supervisor and after being put on hold for 15 minutes, I was told that the Supervisor was busy and but will contact me within 24 hours. On Wednesday, May 29, 2013, I finally received a call from a Sandy from KIA Canada about the matter. I again requested that KIA honor the warranty and fix the vehicle. Sandy said she had nothing to add to what Malia told me because KIA Brampton fixed the problem in March based on their diagnosis and now that the car is over the warranty period, KIA is not responsible for any repairs.

I purchased a 2018 Kia Sorento from Hudson Kia in Jersey City, NJ, at the end of June 2018. As I write this review, it is December 3rd, 2018. They didnt pay off my trade-in vehicle for 45+ days. The payoff was then shorted, leaving me with a rolling balance due to my former finance company. Although Kia said they would rectify with the finance company, they did NOT and I just found out it went to collections, ruining my rebuilding credit. They were supposed to submit my registration as a transfer tag. Instead, after waiting almost 2 months, I received a brand new license plate. I had already paid the year registration on my old tag. Thus, Im out $350 for a tag I didnt need and taking a loss on the registration Id already paid for the former tag. I was told at sale that I could move my payment date to mid-month from end of month after making my 1st payment. When I tried with Kia Finance, I was told this isnt an option on leases. So the finance rep LIED to complete the sale. Now my payments are perpetually 3 weeks late monthly bc of my payroll cycle. I was supposed to receive free oil changes. Yet I cant seem to get anyone on the phone from their service department. I paid $90 for a synthetic oil change (trying to be responsible), only to be told that since I had it serviced elsewhere, it voids the offer... even though I have yet to be in contact with their service department. I HAVE YET TO RECEIVE MATS FOR MY VEHICLE. They cant even be bothered to rectify something as simple as this and its almost 6 months later! I could go on, but Ill stop here.Ive called the dealership more times than I can count and spoken to several people who assured me they would take care of it. Yet not a single item has been rectified. Not one. I also filed a complaint with Kia Customer Service and not one person ever followed up with me. To make matters worse, I practically hate this vehicle. Im currently searching ways to get out of this god awful lease Im in at this point. Ive purchased several vehicles over my lifetime. This experience has been the absolute worse! I wish I could rank ZERO stars.

Rear shocks were leaking - I had to replace rear tires, car has 56k miles. Kia says Kias 60k warranty or 5-year warranty is void because 15 wheels were changed to 17 and car wasnt build for 17 wheels and tires (give me a break). I asked several tire shops. All said tires were ruined because of defective leaking shocks, not the size of wheels or tires.

I have a leased 2015 Kia Sorento with less than 23,000 miles on it with a blown engine. I just got my inspection and oil change done last week. The car came back and was making a funny sound that got progressively worse (like a baseball card in a bike spoke). The car ended up dying completely while being driven and was towed to the closest dealership. I was told that there was sludge on the engine and metal flakes in the oil and that the engine needs to be replaced but Kia probably wont cover it unless I can provide them with maintenance records. They have the most recent oil change record but they wants them all (works out to about 3) which I dont have because I go to a little corner garage. Now that I see blown engines and sludging is a known issue with Kia, I will contact whoever I need to contact to get this taken care of (the estimate was $7200) and I will NEVER purchase or lease another Kia ever again. I thought they made big improvements from a few years ago but I guess that it just on the outside, not the inner workings of the vehicle.

I purchased a KIA Sorento in 2013. It was brand new. In 2017 at about 30,000 miles, it started producing a lot of blue exhaust. It continued to produce the blue exhaust, so I took it into KIA Roseville to get it serviced. They changed the oil, did regular maintenance, and checked out the problem. When I went in to pick up my car, they said everything was fine, and there was some sludge, but it should work its way out. They also told me to call them if the problem persisted. The problem did persist, so I called KIA Roseville, and asked if I should bring the car back in. They said that the problem was probably caused by the sludge, and that I should just continue driving on it to work the sludge out. Well, I kept driving on it, and even drove from Sacramento to San Diego. When I got back from my trip to San Diego, my car started making a strange noise. I called KIA, and made an appointment to get it checked out again. I took my car in, and this time they told me my engine was about to fail, and that we needed to replace it. They also said that KIA would probably not cover the warranty, because we were missing some of our maintenance-receipts. They told us that there was excessive sludge. What kind of car gets excessive sludge in the engine at 30,000 miles? Oh, and mind you, I never had one warning light go on in the car. Well, it turns out this problem with KIA Sorentos, and other models, is happening everywhere. I have found hundreds of views with the exact same problem.

I have a leased Kia Soul with just over 10K miles. Oil changed and not even darkened. Was driving to pick my son up in WVa. From home, a 6 hour ride. Picked him up, stopped, got a bite to eat and headed back to NC. Drove an additional 2 hours. Engine just stopped. Left my son and I stranded in middle of nowhere in WVa. Car was towed to dealer in Charleston where I have been told I must have struck something in the rode. Busted radiator! I never hit a damn thing not even a pot hole! Had to get a rental to get back to NC. I have no eyes on the damage. Asked for pix and have received none to date. Does the term rip off mean anything? The first service manager stated they saw no damage of anything being struck... Now the second one says yes! This is crap! Now my insurance says they may not pay to have the motor repaired/replaced. So I may have a car that Im paying a monthly rental fee on that doesnt run! What happens when the rental agreement expires?

2013 KIA RIO5 SX, 77,000 miles. August 6, 2018. Driver side passenger door, electric window would not go down. Dealer checked all 4 doors & found the drivers door sound barrier material was also falling apart. Dealer said no replacement is available. Dealer removed sound barrier material in drivers door and driver side passenger door. Mileage is over the 60,000 mile warranty so I was charged $186.03. I called KIA 800-333-4542 & opened case 12821760. KIA said car was out of warranty & there is nothing they can do. This car is well maintained & never in an accident. I bought a Kia Cerato in February 2011. Since I had this vehicle I’ve experienced a vibration when it is in 3 gear. The car went in for the gearbox to be repaired or replaced. Unfortunately after 3 weeks being sent from one gearbox service center to the other, Kia South Africa can’t get authority from Korea to get the gearbox replaced under warranty. It will be send again today for a 3rd report but even this might not get Korea to condemn the gearbox. Kia SA are not prepared to provide a loan vehicle as it is not policy nor do they have a spare gearbox to replace until they can find the cause of vibration. In the meantime I can’t get to my customers and this can result in me losing my job. This will be my last Kia vehicle!

I own a 2016 Kia Soul with only 650 miles on it, purchased 10-15-15. I purchased it with 8 miles on it but after 3 weeks of ownership, I HATE IT! Kia sucks and they should be bought and sold off to the lowest bidder. From day one after I put $5000 down on this piece of ** it has been acting weird and I cant return it without losing my Fn cash down payment. These are the problems I experienced so far... It gets poor gas mileage - not as advertised. Only gets 21 city and 25 hwy in a 1.6 liter 130 horse power 4 cylinder moped engine. It shifts funny. It takes off when you press the gas kind of shaky/jerky and rough. The braking in it is awful and jerks at the end of a stop. The road noise and engine noise is annoying and LOUD. The idling at a stop sign or traffic light is much the same as a Harley motorcycle - shaky as hell. The dome lights cuts off when they want to and finally the pick up/take off is slower than a riding lawn mower and just as sketchy. My biggest problem is I was told 1 week after I purchased the car, all new cars will come with backup camera which only the exclaim and plus had and when I went over to look at the new 2016s they all had tinted windows, backup cameras and touch screen display...1 fn week after I got mine and the dealers knew this before they sold me this piece of ** with no tint, camera or touch screen for the same price I would have paid for the additions. Im stuck with this ** and I cant do a thing. There should be a law against selling people lemons and wasting their time having to get a brand damned new car fixed. WTF KIA do you care at all about your ** cheap trashy ** product??? Im pissed off and should have kept my money in my pocket. 0 stars.

Originally I left a 5 star review, but times have changed and the honeymoon is over. When I bought my car 2 years ago the salesman was good. I cant hate on Frankie. But dont be mislead by all these 5 star reviews. My gripe with this dealer is how they treated me during a service, WHICH HAS NOW MADE ME LOSE ALL RESPECT FOR THIS DEALER AND THIS BRAND. My car is still brand new with only 12k miles. With this many miles nothing should break on this car unless its defective. I experienced a broken wheel stud and lug nut. The wheels on my car have never been off before so obviously they must have cross threaded it at the factory. When I tried to remove it, it wouldnt budge and snapped (I was swapping wheels). Kia claimed I must have cross threaded it? How do you cross thread a lug nut when you are trying to loosen it?? Morons!!KIAs prestigious warranty would not cover it. This billion dollar company couldnt honor a warranty on a defective part that costed 10 bucks. So I asked how much to repair, since I needed it fixed? 75 bucks... Fine. Ill pay it and wait to avoid any more grief. 3 HOUR later the service advisor says we have a problem. The whole front end needs to come apart to put a 10 dollar stud in (hub, bearing, knuckle) and would need all the new parts too!!?? Huh??? Why!!? Commission maybe!!? The new price 504.00!!! LMFAO. You guys are out of your minds. Where did you make that price up... I called KIA corporate to find out about the warranty to pay for this defective part. Nothing. Useless and full of excuses.I had enough and pulled my car out of there. Guess what. Took it to a PROFESSIONAL shop and they did it for less than half the price!! Coleman KIA you lost me, and Ill make sure to let everyone know to stay away from you and KIA in general. For anyone thinking of a KIA, think hard, because when your car malfunctions (WHICH IT WILL) you will get nothing but excuses as to why the warranty will NOT cover it!!! This is your warning people!!! Once they sell you the car, they dont give a ** about your problems.

Took my car to Kia East Syracuse for warranty service. Was told car needed to be kept overnight while they waited for a part. Was called next day. Salesman stated following: “Hi Rose, we just found out your part won’t be in until the first week in October, and your lease happens to end the first week in October. Why dont you come in and get a new lease vehicle. I stated I would not be purchasing a new vehicle. The service department is stating they dont have a loaner car for me, they want me to go almost three weeks without a vehicle. I contacted Kia Corporate and they state that they cant help, since the dealer is claiming they dont have a car they can offer as a loaner. They stated they could possibly rent me a car, but they need a manager to authorize and that takes 48 hours. Ive never heard of a car company doing warranty work on a car where the part takes 3 weeks to procure and will not offer a loaner car to drive. Not the happy Kia experience I see in their commercials. Won’t buy another Kia and neither will my family members unless they can make this right.

I was then told that this is only a problem as the car ages (which is very concerning since I recently switched from Toyota to Kia and I was a loyal Toyota owner for many many many years and this is a concern because I tend to keep cars for 8-9 years and over 100K miles)... I hope I have not made a bad purchase in purchasing a Kia and making the switch... In the past the Halleen Kia departments have been A-1. I bought a new car from Kia in November at 9 pm. After spending about 3 hrs there because the salesmen who promised to give me a better deal went home without calling me they then tried to charge me about a 100.00 more than the other dealer. The next day I noticed a small ding in door but was going to let it go until I noticed part of the rear bumper area had waves or indentations throughout it. I finally got it fixed after being laughed at originally. Three months ago I noticed the paint on my car starting to pop. There are no dents on the car and it is garage kept yet they are trying to avoid fixing it and blaming it on something contaminating the paint. This is garage kept in a personal parking spot at work with no trees around it. I partially blame the dealer. But for Kia corporate not to take action is inexcusable. I have missed work because of the stress this has put on me and I now may have to take legal action to get it fixed
