I just bought a 2012 Kia Sorento in February. It started giving me problems. It stopped all of a sudden when I stopped in a stop sign and the engine was shut off. Two days ago, I was about to drive to work and when I went to the garage and sat in the van, it started but the gear wouldnt move as it was locked. I called the dealer and they told me to call the tow truck and get it towed to the dealership. They towed the van to the dealer, and the next day the guy from the service department called. This dealer is located in Avalon Blvd in Carson. He told me that both the engine and the computer are full of water like a swimming pool. How? I just took the car to the drive-through car wash a few times since I bought it. They told me that the warranty does not cover and I have to pay $1600 to get it fixed. When we first bought the car they lied to us that anything doesnt matter - big or small issues, the warranty is going to cover - and now they dont want to cover. I will never ever recommend anyone to Kia Carson or any other Kia dealer. It’s a bad experience that I have ever had.

Kia produces an modern attractive array of vehicles at a lower price point than its competitors. My Cadenza is loaded with safety features and the latest technology available. It was priced below similarly featured imports in its class. Reliability is weakness for Kia. My 2 year old Cadenza has been serviced 3 times for major repairs. The warranty is excellent and covered all my cost for service, but could not compensate me for my inconvenience. Resale value is another factor that hurts Kia. Similar Toyotas, Hondas, and Subarus are superior in holding their value. Kias just dont seem to age well. Based on features and overall cost, I would recommend leasing a Kia for 3 years. I would not recommend buying The Kia Cadenza.

I was told the front bumper was replaced before I bought pre-owned. Within a month the paint bubbled and peeled. Bolts were not put in and I am now being told I ran over something and that is why the bolts are missing. I took it back when something rattled and fell off and was shown that a piece of the bottom panel was ripped off. This happened on the freeway after the rattling started about three miles before. I told them they did not replace the bolts when they took the bumper off to paint. They insist I ran over something but only the bolts on both sides are missing. I noticed the front bumper stuck out in spots after I bought it so I know that it was never bolted properly from the beginning. They are saying that if I dont pay to replace the bottom panels they will not allow my warranty if something breaks and the paint is now peeling and bubbling AGAIN. I am going to contact KIA customer service and if it is not fixed I will seek advice from an attorney.

My husband was driving to town this past Sat. He lost control of the steering and brakes. We had a mechanic take a look. The crankshaft bolt broke and the pin sheared off. So we have had this Kia for 10 months. Paid almost $13,000 for it. It had 68,000 miles. It has almost 79,000 now. The mechanic said that the pin should have lasted the life of the Kia. So I go to a United States Government web site and am horrified. There are 5 recalls, and 12 suggested service calls for repair of parts that should last the life of the vehicle. Some of the repairs state that this default could cause serious accidents. Then on further investigation I find out there is a civil suit against Kia. There are 1,000s of people experiencing this problem. The real problem is that the gear behind the harmonic stabilizer was engineered wrong. Its too heavy. So even if you get the crankshaft pin replaced it happens again. The Govt. site is Odi.nhtsa.gov and I also found info at other credited web site and by reading the class action suit, Robinson et al v. Kia Motors Inc et al., case # 13-cv-00006 US District Court, type that into the tool bar. I have tried to contact Kia at 1800-333-4542, 1800-225-3193. I have emailed Greg **, Director of Regional Affairs at ** and Kia USA. My Kia is not safe to drive. It is alleged that Kia has known about these engineering defects for a long time. Its a lot to digest. I am heartbroken and with no funds to repair this Kia. I pay for a Kia Sorento that is unsafe to drive. When the crankshaft pin broke, it did damage to the belts, harmonic balancer, gear behind harmonic balancer. The cotter pin that sheared off as well, the oil pan seal. Wow, but I feel fortunate that no one was physically hurt. Maybe Consumer Affairs should do an article about this. 1,000s of Consumers are affected. Will it take fatalities for someone to address this?

As I said, I am 38, I have five kids, am a retired army vet and between those two things, I dont expect two many surprises to come my way that I havent seen before. I live in Mass, so I needed a car that could handle the weather and give me the room with safety I needed. I bought a black 2014 soul with 25 miles on it. We all remember the Kias when we were young. Not good cars at all. But now, I dont know any other. The soul has an unbelievable solid engine. It rides smooth, its amazing the space Inside. It is loaded! I bought this car brand new for around $10,000, below any car brand new with all these options. We have been hit with the worst snow since 1978, my car hasnt gotten stuck once. I see range rovers explores, etc. on the side of the highway. But not Penelope, my kids named her. Boiled down, if and when I need a new car, I will definitely buy a Kia. Its the most reliable, gas efficient, safe, and family and pocket friendly car on the market! Thank you Kia.

My Kia has just over 7,000 miles and the last 4 months I have been plagued by the car not starting. Dealer diagnosis is always good. Finally they thought it was a battery cable. Car ran fine for 2 months, now back to same problem. If I just the dead car, it will run fine for about 2 weeks, then it dies again. No one can figure this out. Kia should take responsibility for this vehicles problems but I find no one cares and Im stuck with a relatively new car, low miles and chronic starting problems. Is there anything Consumer Affairs can do to help?

I have a leased Kia Soul with just over 10K miles. Oil changed and not even darkened. Was driving to pick my son up in WVa. From home, a 6 hour ride. Picked him up, stopped, got a bite to eat and headed back to NC. Drove an additional 2 hours. Engine just stopped. Left my son and I stranded in middle of nowhere in WVa. Car was towed to dealer in Charleston where I have been told I must have struck something in the rode. Busted radiator! I never hit a damn thing not even a pot hole! Had to get a rental to get back to NC. I have no eyes on the damage. Asked for pix and have received none to date. Does the term rip off mean anything? The first service manager stated they saw no damage of anything being struck... Now the second one says yes! This is crap! Now my insurance says they may not pay to have the motor repaired/replaced. So I may have a car that Im paying a monthly rental fee on that doesnt run! What happens when the rental agreement expires?

KIA makes a good car, but your experience with them as a company will be TERRIBLE. KIA delayed (by several months) applying the payoff amount to my old Sorento I sold to them, after I purchased a new one. This ruined my credit because KIA falsely claimed I did not turn in the car and never paid the last payment. This was all lies that they sent to the credit reporting agency. Customer service only transferred me to collections -on a car KIA purchased from me months ago. No one cared to listen or help. I resorted to a consumer lawyer and will hopefully get this resolved. After I involved a lawyer, I started getting letters from KIA in the mail stating I owed money from leased KIAs I had years and years ago. I will never buy from KIA ever again. They will take your money and keep taking, and when they do not apply it to your account, they turn you in to collections.

Bought a used Kia Sorento 2014 from the dealership back on January 2016. Sometime in December 2016 started having problems with the doors not locking. Did not have chance to bring it to the dealer to check until February. Apparently, something is wrong with one of the Fuse and they need to replace the entire Junction box. I thought this would be a manufacturing problem and it will be covered by Kia. Unfortunately, it is not and the cost would be $875.00. Warranty is over 1 year so it will not be covered. On top of that, the dealer charged me an additional $120 because I also mentioned to check the rear view camera because it stopped working.A word of advice, Kia will charge you an extra diagnostic fee for every problem you want them to check. Tell me if this is not a rip off. Unable to do the repairs because the cost is too high so my doors do not lock and my rear camera is not working. I would never purchase another Kia and would not recommend it to anyone.

Since I bought a KIA in 2009, I received almost every week any advertisement from KIA or other companies regarding my KIA. Every KIA dealer I went in the last 6 years, because of moving, dont stop sending me advertisement. KIA American dont provide any email address to opt out or something else to avoid this advertisements. The cars are great for the price but because of this much advertisements, I am disappointed about KIA and its a reason NOT to buy my next car from KIA. When I will buy my next car, I will ask for a letter from the car dealer. They have to pay a punishment for every unwilling advertisement they will send me. I will see if any dealer will do this. :-)

I have a 2012 Soul with 43K miles. Last week the engine light came on and it started sounding like a sewing machine. I took it to the Kia dealership in Macon, GA. After only pulling the dipstick out, they determined that two litters had collapsed from starving of oil. With no service record because I change the oil myself (who can afford what a dealership charges?), engine repair/replacement is not covered under warranty. So they want $4,800 for a used engine with 6,000 miles or $7,800 for a remand engine from the factory. Its time Kia steps up to the plate and backs this crap theyre putting on the roads.

I bought a 2018 KIA Soul in May of 2018. There was no visible signs of rust on the car at the time. After about a month of driving it I took it to the car wash. At close inspection after the wash I noticed rust on the lower part the back passenger doors (both sides of the car...same place). I contacted the KIA dealer, they took pictures and sent them with the info to a corp. office somewhere. Their response was that the rust was caused by an outside source and they would not cover it. So I contacted KIA in Cal. Got the same answer. Thats Bull. This is a new 2018 car...it should not have any rust on it, plus they should have took measures to prevent such an occurrence. I would not have bought the car if the rust was visible when I looked at it. Im still waiting on Higher Up to make their decision at the KIA Corp. in Cal.

I have to use the third row and twice already my 6 year old and 4 year old have complained they do not get air back there. They get dizzy, light headed, nauseated, vomited! And felt weak. I have had one problem after another since I first bought my 2011 Kia Rio one year ago. The day I purchased it I didnt even make it home before the check engine light was on. Last month the car began to shake, jerk, sputter and did not want to accelerate. Loses power at times and this is very scary in rush hour traffic. Check engine light flashed then stayed on. After getting it checked the code read multiple misfires. I have had a tune up and 2 of the 4 coil packs changed when they went bad. After getting new spark plugs the problem still was not fixed. Thinking maybe I got bad gas I got the fuel system flushed. Still not helping so I went ahead and got another complete tune up, throttle body cleaned, fuel injectors checked, all from a reputable ASE certified shop near my home because the car doesnt want to accelerate and wont make it very far. After all these the problem was still not fixed. I took the car back to the same shop because they did not know what was going on. It turns out this particular make and model has a TSB (technical service bulletin) that affects the electrical system. The shop did all the work for Kia and is for certain this is the problem. They feel that since Kia knows about the alert they should fix the problem. The shop kept my car for 3 days because they were determined to figure out the problem. When I called the Kia dealership they said they would not fix it since my car is no longer under warranty and it is not an official recall. When I went in person to present all my evidence and invoices they would not hear me out unless I agreed to pay the $100 an hour fee to diagnose electrical problems. My car has been deemed unsafe to drive and was towed back to my home for now. How dare they know about the issue and refuse to fix it. I have spent so much money on this car not to mention paying car notes when the car cannot be driven.

In March of 2012, I purchased a new 2012 Kia Rio. Not long after having it, the radio would not read CDs. I had it in the dealer service department several times, and I would still have the same problem. The dealer finally decided to replace the radio with a re-manufactured one. The refurbished one that was put in was even worse than the original one. It would freeze up, go out, and do things without me touching it. Also, I would lose control of it, and it would even stay on after the car was shut off, key taken out of ignition, and car locked. I took it to another dealer to have them look at it. And after a long period of time of having problems with it, it was replaced again with yet another refurbished one. It worked okay for a while, and now all of a sudden, when turned on, there is no sound. There is no sound whatsoever when I run the volume knob up and down. I am fed up with Kia for their products and service! I will never buy another Kia! I am in the process of filing a lemon law claim with the BBB. They should buy this vehicle back after countless sorry attempts to fix the problem and Im still having trouble out of it!

I purchased a 2015 KIA Sorento in July of 2014 at Brockville KIA. It was all I wanted it to be. On November 28/2014 I had an accident. I slid through a T-intersection and into a steep but not deep ditch. I expect I was going 10kph as it was in town and the streets were slippery. The Sorento sustained damage to the front lower bumper and front rim/wheel, however the air bags deployed (curtain bags-ceiling and both front seat air bags). The Sorento was taken to Carstar Brockville, which shares a lot with the Brockville KIA dealer where I had purchased. On Nov. 29th the estimate came in at approx. $23000 to repair. I was expecting to have truck ready in a couple weeks. It is now Jan. 26th 2015 and I still have no Sorento. Kia Canadas service has been frustrating and extremely disappointing, as they have made many promises about delivery, but to no avail. I have spoken to customer reps at KIA (claim#**) on too many occasions to mention. More frustrations....As far as Economical Mutual Insurance I believe, if they had done their job in November or early Dec. the Sorento would have been replaced. The parts (air bags/seats were and are still not available). Economical did provide me with a check for $1000 for non-use on rental for the month of Dec. (still in my pocket-not cashed), however it was the end of the benefit at 30 days. Kia Brockville, and Brister Insurance brokers are covering the charges for the vehicle I am using in month 2.Approaching the end of Jan. and still no delivery dates for missing parts. I have pressured for answers from all involved but have just encountered more frustrations and more false promises. As a first time Kia buyer it has tested my patience and understanding of the system. Economical has done a poor job, only doing what they had to and no more. They even suggested on several occasions that, It is not our fault and even suggested that the repair shop put the old seats in and let me drive until new seats arrive (no air bags). The shop refused... I am hoping that you can help.

I bought my car brand new in March of 2011 from Phil Smith Kia in Lighthouse Point Florida. It was one of the newer models of the Kia Soul, shadow black. A couple months after buying the car I noticed that the tire pressure light was constantly on. I ask on my next oil change and of course they said it just needed air, but boy were they wrong. I wish I knew right then to declare my car a lemon under Florida State Law. Months went by and the issue still persisted. I was still told to ignore it, that when I came there they would just reset it and it would stop. Two years later in 2013 while driving in the middle of the night, all the indicator lights starting going off in my car simultaneously and the car shut down. It would not restart! 2 years old less than 20,000 miles! I had it towed backed to Phil Smith Kia. They said a module had to be ordered for my car. They ordered it, the manager Mihai left and all of a sudden it was never ordered and of course they didnt see what the problem was. Nothing was showing up when they run test. At this point Sheldon is taking care of my car. A year passed, tire pressure light still on, when all of a sudden all of the lights simultaneously again. Imagine my fear of my car shutting off again. And when I say all the lights I mean, tire pressure light, air bag light, engine light, brake light, abs light. The electric odometer wasnt working. The rpm was going up and down. It was as if my car was possessed! I immediately took it to the dealership to find out what was wrong. They say, Oh we dont show that these lights are coming on. We need proof! Hello look at your record. Ive been here a million times. They say the only light we see is your air bag, your passenger airbag needs to be replaced, come back we have to order the part. I come back (Its 2014 now). They replaced the airbag. The airbag light is still on. My car is still acting possessed. Took it back. They still claimed they couldnt find anything. Took it back again. Oh they finally find something. We have to replace your air bag module. I come back. They order the airbag module. The lights are still going off. I come back again. They told me they ordered the wrong one. Well call you when we get the right one. They get the right one and replace it. It is 2015 now. The lights are still going off. Apparently when they replaced it they didnt finish resetting everything. So now they reset everything and tell me to come back and get it. I come back to get it and they drove all of the gas out of my car. It was on E! and on top of that the lights were still going off. I was so fed up I left in anger, not knowing what to do. Two weeks later I call again - make an appointment. I find out that Sheldon is no longer with Phil Smith Kia and now Charlie the service manager will be taking care of my car and it will absolutely be fixed this time. I drop the car off on Saturday 8/1. Was told I couldnt get a shuttle home while they worked on my car, When they told me it would take all morning, (Ive gotten a shuttle home every Saturday I was there before) I had to call for a ride and received not one phone call back when I called multiple times all day! After the 5th call, Oh sorry we didnt call you. Lets just give you a rental car and you can keep your car here. Days go by no phone calls. I have to call. Once I call, Kia corporate is involved at this point. I get several apologetic phone calls saying that they will make sure everything is ok, that my car is finally fixed and they will test drive it with me. Wednesday 8/5 I leave work early to pick up my car - call the dealership to let them know Im on my way. I got to the service center at 5:40 pm due to traffic. The service center closes at 6pm. No one was there! I walk into the dealership to speak with the receptionist. She informs me that Charlie left for the day because it was SLOW!!! WTF. I left work early to come here, have been late to work have taken days of time off to come to this dealership and no one is here! I am floored. Cassandra the receptionist informs me that she has no authority to release my car. I leave, because Im obviously upset, in tears at this point. I call Kia corporate. They say that there is nothing they can do for me but report this incident and that I need to talk to a general manager. I called for the general manager and was informed that he wasnt there and that I would have to call back in the morning. Then I tried to see if anyone could release the keys to my car. No one has the authority to do this. OK THOUGH IM PISSED I WILL WAIT to get my car that will not be given to me. MY CAR! I call in the morning and speak to West ** and explain to him my entire situation over the years. All he says is that he will check on it and call me back within the hour. Surprise! No phone call. I call again and was told he wasnt even in the building anymore. I called again to speak to Charlie with no avail. At this point Im being ignored and disrespected. I finally get a call back hours later with a sorry apology from the service manager and have still not heard from West **, the general manager who said he would call me back. I had to come up with the solution. I had to beg them to drive the car to me so that I could return my rental car and not be stuck. My car has all new tires, new brakes, a new battery, a new airbag - all done recently. Long story short. I will never buy another Kia in my life and I would advise no one else to either. The way that Ive been treating is appalling. I would like to give a round of applause to Phil Smith Kia for their crappy service. Good luck to the person that buys this car because Im getting rid of it. Thank you for reading. And thank you Kia for doing absolutely nothing but giving me headaches, excuses and more gray hairs!

I bought a 2011 Kia Sorento. When I first bought the car, it had an acceleration problem. And now it has an internal engine problem and Kia’s warranty does not want to cover the problem. It is a brand new car. I can’t believe that I bought a Kia and this was going to happen after only 12,000 miles of me driving it. This is too much. It has caused me and my family a whole lot of stress. I can’t believe it. It’s like a nightmare. It’s too much for a single, hard working mom of 5. I believed in Kia and their warranty. This is the first brand new car I ever bought. I bought it because I was sick of always having to fix my used car. I wrongly assumed I would not have this problem with a new car. I bought it in October. The acceleration sticks on gear change, but I didnt want to spend my life in the shop (again) so I deal with it. When summer hit, I found out the AC didnt work. I scheduled a service time. The guy on the phone was a bit rude but I chalked it up to him probably having a bad day. They dye the AC and tell me to come back in a week. Its still blowing cold, but I bring it back as requested. They cannot find the issue, so they send me on my way. Two weeks later, its blowing hot air again. I have to go back. This time they tell me the hose is broken and replace it. It took them 3 days to replace a single hose. While I am grateful I received a car to drive in the meantime, it was the most disgusting pile of garbage I had ever had the displeasure of driving. Whoever had previously owned this vehicle did not in any way take care of it. After day 3 of calling and waiting for the car to be fixed, I drove over to the dealership after work and vowed to wait until they took care of it, regardless how long it took. I walked in and they asked if I was there to pick up my car. They never bothered to call me.Today I had a flat tire. No spare in the trunk, which I had foolishly thought would be standard for every vehicle. I called the dealership and was told to call roadside assistance, which was free. Okay, fair enough, but if the tire cant be fixed, I cant afford to buy a new one right now, so I dont know if thats a good idea. I was blown off (same guy as earlier, still rude so obviously not just a bad day thing) and told to just call roadside assistance and go from there. I was also told that tires were not covered under the warranty, which was the only question he bothered to answer. Of course they arent. In all, because I did not have a spare tire, it took me 6 hours and a total loss of days wages to get a flat tire fixed, and surprise! Its covered under warranty. So not only was the guy rude, but he lied to me too. I have become more acquainted with the service staff at Kia in the last 9 months than I was with my mechanic in the last two years of my used car. I bought a new car to avoid that.I am very dissatisfied with Kia and their customer service. I requested a manager when I got there, to discuss the issue of the rude representative, and he never once showed his face in the time I was waiting for my car to be fixed. Because of that, I came here to post a public review instead of keeping the issue between me and the manager.

Our 2012 Sorento was serviced by the KIA service department where we bought the car. We were driving in town at 35 mph when the engine just stopped. The engine had no warning lights and no noises. We luckily were near a parking lot and were able to coast in. Called the KIA service to receive the car and diagnose the problem. They tell us the main engine bearing failed and we will need a new engine. If this is a problem KNOWN to KIA, they should replace the engine for us. At no cost. We had a Subaru Forester for 260,000 miles with absolutely no engine problems! I think this needs more investigation.

Where to begin. I scheduled an appointment at my local Kia dealership to have a recall fixed that I had received a letter about. The night I went to drop my car off it started making a knocking sound in the front end. I spoke with the mechanic who told me they would not be performing the recall because they believe it was part of an engine recall. Fast forward 9 WEEKS, yes I said 9. They tell me Kia denied the recall due to previous recalls not being performed. I call customer affairs and they state that I never had a recall done in 2018 that should of been done before the engine failing...First off I never received a letter stating a recall needed to be done in 2018 and the person who helped me even stated they had the wrong address on file. The only recall notice that said it needed to be completed was the one I took it in for. The fact that have terrible engines that is clearly known and there is a law suit over just tells you how terrible this company is. I have been without a car for 9 WEEKS! I work full time and have 3 children, no one could provide me with a loaner vehicle and now they are denying the recalled engine because of a notice I never received. I am completely disgusted with this whole situation. Kia Cooperation is shady and I will NEVER own another Kia.

I brought my daughters ‘14 Sorento to Kia Coral Springs 5/30 for regular service as well as an evaluation of a serious situation relative to the paint peeling off several areas of the car not affected by road stones or anything other than a factory defect. I brought it first to a paint and body shop and was told in 2 minutes to bring it to Kia consumer affairs. It was in his expert opinion, clearly a factory defect issue. There were photos taken at the dealership and passed on to the local Kia representative responsible for evaluating any type of bodywork. I just heard from Kia corporate consumer affairs and because the warranty expired, regardless what caused the problem, it’s the owners responsibility. I have a friend who had the exact same situation last year with a Nissan product...also expired warranty and also a factory defect causing the paint to peel. They repainted the car and now have a loyal Nissan customer for life.As a result, I will have her car painted and promptly trade it in for anything other than another Kia product. I will share this story of a very short-sighted company with anyone contemplating the purchase of a Kia in the future. The reverse would have been true if this company was more open minded and interested in promoting goodwill. Their fault, but easy way out was turn a blind eye to what’s right and hide behind “their” warranty protection. Kia, one and done!

We purchased a new 2012 Kia Sorento. The first dealer never rotated the tires, and refused to help with a defective Spring. I had the pictures of a snapped spring on the front right. Had to replace all the struts and tires. Switched dealers. At 60,000 miles, the car started to have major electrical problems. Second dealer was worse than the first, changed battery and radio unit. Kept coming up with thousands in expenses. Finally, I told them to replace the starter and the car worked again. I cannot wait to get rid of the car ASAP. Never again will I purchase a Kia since the warranty is worthless.

My car died on the side of the road and I called Kia Roadside Assistance. After speaking with an associate I was advised a tow truck would be out in 90- minutes. After 90- minutes passed I called to get an update and after being place on hold so they can call the tow truck operator the Kia associate advised me they were running behind and are 30- minutes away. This exact scenario went on over and over for 6- hours until finally I had enough and took a cab home. The next morning I called Kia Roadside assistance again and advised the new associate of what happened and they set a tow up and guess what, I was advised of the same scenario and again nobody came after lie upon lie upon lie. The service for Kia is non-existent so keep that in mind BEFORE you consider purchasing your or leasing a Kia.

On 07/08/2015 I was visiting my parents at their home and when it was time to leave, I told my children to go ahead and get in the car. The reason I was ok with this is because I had the keys in my hand!! I said goodbye and walked out the door not 2 minutes later, and my car was gone. My 4 year old was able to disengage the car from park and my car rolled 75 feet down hill, it finally stopped by coming to rest on a tree. During this time my 6 year old was thrown from the vehicle because he was in the process of getting in the car. He ended up with a laceration on his head and a trip to the hospital where he had to have a CT scan. Once we had the car towed up my father was able to do the same thing with the car, he disengaged it from park while the keys were not in it, his feet were also not in the car. So my car is able to come out of park without the keys and without depressing the brake. I have since found others reports of this online. This is highly unacceptable to me. We contacted the service manager at the dealership where we purchased the vehicle and he was of no help to us. I have just made a formal complaint to Kia, but who know what will come of this. To anyone who is looking to buy a Kia please check that this will not happen in your vehicle. I would hate for someone else, or someone else to get hurt.

I just want to start by saying that I am a very friendly person and I alway
I just want to start by saying that I am a very friendly person and I always have a smile on my face, but I am not happy with Kia right now. I own a 2012 Kia Sorento. It is my familys only vehicle. We are a family of four. On Friday, August 5th, my family was driving from our home in California to visit my mother in law for her bday at her home in Nevada. Two miles from the Nevada state line our Kia just stopped in the middle of the 15 Freeway and luckily my husband was able to swerve it on the shoulder of the freeway. We waited for nearly 2 hours for a tow to Henderson Kia (in Nevada). It was over 100 degrees that day. The tow was taking longer than expected so we were forced to leave the keys to the Kia on the floor mat and leave the vehicle for the tow company and find a way to get to my mother in laws home. Once the Kia finally arrived at Kia Henderson we were told that the service department could not even look at it until Monday morning, August 8th. I had requested a rental and was declined. This was a necessity as we had no transportation while in Nevada and no way to drive the 300+ miles back to CA so that we could work on Tuesday, Aug. 10th and get our daughters to their first day of school. We paid over $400 in car rental costs for 4 days use of a vehicle. Henderson Kia notified us on Monday, Aug, 9th that our engine needed to be replaced. We were shocked. 72,000 and a perfect maint. records. All of which we supplied to Henderson Kia. Due to this we were approved for a new engine. On Wednesday, Aug. 11th, I again requested Kia provide a rental vehicle. Henderson Kia told me to call Kia Consumer Affairs and Kia Consumer Affairs told me to take it up with Kia Henderson. Finally, a rental was approved and I triple verified that I would have the rental during the duration of the repairs and could use it to drive the 300+ miles back to Nevada when my vehicle was ready. Fast forward to today. My vehicle is ready and Henderson Kia is stating that my rental vehicle is only valid until today, September 1st. I am beyond livid. Especially since the contract between Henderson Kia and Enterprise Rental Cars states that my rental is valid until Septemeber 30th. Does Kia really think my family can just leave work and school and drive back to Nevada from California - on Labor Day weekend no less? I have already given Henderson Kia my arrival date in Nevada of Friday, September 9th. My engine is under warranty. This is a Kia flaw not any damage my family has inflicted on the engine. Henderson Kia is expecting me to return my rental vehicle to my local Enterprise today. If I do that, how will I get home? How will my children get home from school? How will I pick my husband up from work? and most importantly, how will we be able to drive back to Nevada to pick up our Sorento? It floors me all of this back and forth with Henderson Kia and Kia Consumer Affairs. I have saved all of my 20 plus emails with Henderson Kia. As of this moment, my family is still in limbo and Henderson Kia is saying that it is only Kia Consumer Affairs that can extend a rental car and Kia Consumer saying it is only the individual dealership. Please help. Thank you for listening.

I am a loyal customer that has not missed a payment. I work in a call center and my husband in a mall both closed due to COVID. I called to put one extension on they told me to call back next month if your still not working. I call and the agent tells me, no, I AM PROBED TO ASK YOU QUESTIONS AND YOU DO NOT QUALIFY. Really, I did prior what is different he said, Well you get unemployment. I said, Yes I didnt lie. I told you that and FYI so did I last month. He did not care to help me at all. I told him I am a family of 6. Unemployment barely covers food let alone rent, even told him that I had to move to a smaller cheaper apt cause I couldnt afford mine.Do not buy from them. IF THEY CANT HELP CUSTOMERS IN TIME OF CRISIS THEY SHOULD NOT GET ANY OF OUR BUSINESS. I have sent many people to them NEVER again and I will be sure to post in every platform I can think of to warn all. BBB, Google, Consumer Ad, and I will be informing the ATTORNEY General and I will be blasting them on shame on you, all online news pages. I will be sure everyone sees that this is not a company that cares about people but instead their pockets when they are so many grants/loans to keep their business afloat. I even told the guy how he is making bank off of customers like me. I lease so I defer my payments it extends my lease which means at the end of the term they will be hitting me with so many fees for being over miles. SHAME ON YOU.

I purchased the Kia about 1 1/2 years ago. I have 48000 miles on it. Last week it started blowing white smoke out of the tailpipe. I checked the oil, which was fine, and then called and made an appointment at the dealership since it is under warranty. I took it in yesterday only to be told that the engine was ready to blow. I thought my day couldnt get any worse until the Kia rep told me that I needed to gather up all of my receipts and that of all maintenance reports on my vehicle. It would then be submitted to Kia to see if it met their approval for their warranty. This would have been fine except for the fact that the service person told me that if I ever went over 3500 miles in between changes they would decline the warranty. I have completed oil changes at home and the service person said that would be fine except that I have to prove that it was for the Kia. Now, there was no indicator light that ever came on in this vehicle. I have faithfully changed or had changed my oil and again NO INDICATOR light came on that anything was wrong. Basically I was told good luck in getting it fixed. I have read the other complaints and it seems like I am not the only one. I owe 26000.00 on this vehicle and they said that if (when) Kia declines the work then they will be happy to replace my engine for the price of $5000.00-$6000.00. Even if I didnt complete the oil changes that I did a BRAND NEW car should not have a blown engine in 48000 miles. After speaking with their rep it was made very clear to me that they are going to decline anything that I give them. When I asked about it being a Kia issue that the indicator lights werent on I was told Well I dont know why they didnt come on and Slug in the tank means oil leak I stated to the rep that if the seals leaked because of a problem with their motor that would also cause slug in tank too right? The guy told me You would have to prove that. I will never buy another Kia. Their warranty sounds good but is full of loopholes to make a customer believe that they are getting amazing coverage when what it really is is a way to screw people out their money, their car, and their wellbeing.

Once I got to the dealership Artie **., the service employee was extremely rude and dismissive. I told him that all I needed them to do was take the lug nut off and put it back on properly until I can get a new tire. He told me to write down my number and they would be in contact but it may be a few days. The electroluminescent speedometer isnt readable during daylight operation.
The electroluminescent speedometer isnt readable during daylight operation. This causes a very real safety situation when the driver has to take his eyes off the road for 3 or 4 seconds to figure out how fast he is going. The display is entirely programmable by Kia. They have chosen to show the speed by a small dark red marker against a black background. During daylight driving, you have to hunt for the marker. Put on sun glasses and it can take 5 or 6 seconds to find the marker. All that time you are not looking at the road.Simple program changes and software updates could easily solve this problem. - Make the marker longer and/or bigger; make the marker lighter red; make the marker white, or show the speed numerically in the center of the speedometer. All these could be driver selectable from the existing settings menu.Kia has been made aware of this problem since at least June 10, 2013 (case # ** customer service representatives Quinton and Robin). They are liable for accidents caused by this faulty product. The local Kia service people recognize the problem but only corporate Kia can fix it. Other than this safety issue, my $39,050 2014 Sorento Limited is perfectly assembled and excellently designed.Update: The local service people were told by Kia that they are working on the problem. That means Kia is selling vehicles with known safety issues.

Kia knows that 2012-2014 models have an engine problem that requires a whole new engine (connecting rods). They only cover this for 1st owners and will extend the coverage for 2.4L, 4 cylinder engines. So Im basically screwed because mine is a V6 and I am a second owner (cost $7K). Even though it is the exact same problem with the engine. I bought my car at CarMax with only 11,000 miles on it. You shouldnt have to replace your whole engine at 65,000 miles! I WILL NEVER BUY OR RECOMMEND A KIA TO ANYONE! I even asked one of the main Kia service managers in my area about this and he agreed that he wouldnt buy one. Gee, what does this say about the company. I have called customer service and they could care less. I would at least expect a massive deal on the service at least. What is also scary, is that Ive been told and also seen reports that these Kia engines can just stop working while you are driving! The dealer here even told me it would be best not to drive it! Talk about being in a lurch-who can do that?? WARNING-DO NOT BUY A KIA!!!

In August of 2012, it will be 2 years that I have owned my 2011 KIA Sorento. I bought the vehicle brand new. 3 weeks ago (at 30K miles), my 4 tires had steel threads poking out and the tires were very thin. The Sorento was also pulling to the right, very bad. I contacted the dealership, telling them that their manufacturers tires were bad and demanded they replace them and fix my alignment. Kia told me that it could have done 12 months prior, but that I am out of luck now and have to pay over $200 to get it fixed right. So, I went to another big time vehicle mechanic. They did my alignment and they also mentioned that the camber bolts needed to be replaced/fixed, but that would have to be something KIA needs to do. This place did do my alignment, after I forked over a thousand dollars for 4 brand new tires at Discount Tire Co. So, Kia Corporate Service told me to bring the vehicle in for a checkup after I told them what the other mechanic told me. After Kia was done, they hit me with a charge for another alignment! I explained to the guy that we had told him from the beginning that we had an alignment done and that we did not authorize this. Then, Kia told me that the camber bolts were installed backwards and the mechanic had to fix that too. I told the guy, How could that be? The other mechanic never even touched the bolts. After I was forced to pay in order to be able to drive it off, the Sorento went back to pulling off to the right again. So, back I went to the dealership today. I took this Kia service guy for a test drive in my Sorento. This guy said that driving down our bad city roads just makes it seems like our vehicle is pulling off to the right. That there are a lot of bumps in our city roads. The service guy said they will take another look at our Sorento, even though as he said, There is nothing wrong with it. Kia also refuses to give me my money back for the other alignment that was done, which the vehicle did not need. While there, I met another customer who had just gone through the same, exact thing we are now going through. She has hired an attorney and gave me the name of her attorney.

In 2010, I brought a new Kia Forte koup. I love my car. I NEVER HAD A PROBLEM OUT OF THAT CAR. But I broke my back and could not do the low cars getting in and out of them. So I went to Kia and traded on 11-2-13 for a 2014 Kia Sorento. Well, things went down hill. 1st week, had to go back and they had to do a 4 wheel alignment. Then the door handle fell apart. Went back, had that put on, then it fell apart again. The back doors had a gap in them were you could put half your hand in them. Well, after going back every Saturday for 6 weeks, GM had me come in to change car out. But every 2014 Sorento on the lot had same problems. Then I traded for a 2013 Kia Soul. Up till now, no problem till yesterday. When am going down road and a piece of my car comes off and almost hit 2 other cars. So I have had to send this morning at the dealer again. If it was not for service lady where I go, I would have already went crazy on people. I WILL NEVER EVER BUY OTHER KIA AGAIN WHEN I TRADE THIS ONE IN!!!!!! !

Bought our first brand new 2011 Kia Sorrento because we wanted a warranty to cover any problems. In October, we noticed the paint was starting to bubble and chip off all over the top of the car and the hood. We took it to the service dept. At the dealership where we purchased it (dont ever do business with Keffer Kia in Mooresville, NC) and they told us it wont be covered under our bumper to bumper five-year warranty because we must have either driven through something or parked it under a tree. Are you friggin kidding me?We now have a lawyer. Im saddened by the fact that there is no honor or loyalty anymore when you purchase something today. I am also offended that they have the nerve to actually accuse a customer of something so ridiculous just to get out of fixing something that is clearly a defect. Anyway, just in case someone else is having the same problem, no, you are not going crazy and should complain about as well because I believe in the power of the pen and the power of all people united. If enough people come forward with these problems, the companies will have no choice but to start taking responsibilities for their merchandise.

The Kia Rio is like a go kart and it bumps every bump. The tires were small and I feel if I was in an accident I would not be safe. The seat absorbed stains I could not get out and the radio broke early on about 30,000 miles. The spark plugs needed to be fixed and even though it had a 100,000 mile guarantee, no one honored it and they were all KIA dealers. I would bring it in when it had problems and they would fix it but they said I had to apply for a reimbursement or they didnt cover it. The dealers were absolute impolite morons. I brought the car twice to them and they danced around the issue and I felt humiliated for taking it back to no avail. Apparently the guarantee cost a lot too. Its 12,000 when the car had 35,000 miles. I was treated so unfair and I wish I could get the 2000 I paid for the guarantee back. What a rip off and for this reason I will not rebuy a KIA. But I gave it a high rating because after my son fixed the cracked spark plug encasement and replaced the plugs it always started up. It even went across country.

Kia Optima Hybrid Started on Its Own due to faulty push start. - Kia has an uncanny way of stating the same corporate line that the vehicle operates as designed when you tell them there is something wrong with the car. All one has to do is You Tube a woman who had a child in her Kia truck that took control of her and raced the car on a highway at speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour. This happened for over 30 miles and they settled with her only because it was on the police cam.In my case, my Kia literally started on its own and rolled down a hill into the woods. When I called Kia to tell them what had happened, they said the same line to me as they did to that woman with the truck. When I told Kia that the same situation was shown on You Tube where a lady had a Hybrid that she recorded to start on its own. Yet Kia is holding firm that the car does not want do that. The bottom line is Kia is a terrible car company. Of all of these complaints on here, we need real satisfaction. I think we should post everyday that Kia should not be the car company you want to deal with. I would like to hear from many of you. Perhaps in numbers, they will listen to us. On 7 separate occasions in less than a month my car will not start. Not a battery problem. The case was escalated and the guy in charge said he doesnt listen to his voicemail (reason for not calling me back) and he will be out of the office the rest of the week. I have intermittent starting problems, sudden poor gas mileage and loss of power. Gas to the floor just to go 65. He said I should have it serviced. I explained the dealership just serviced it the first time it went in for the starting problem. He told me Kia doesnt warranty the gas mileage or power of the vehicle. He completely ignored me explaining that this is part of the problem to help them diagnose what to fix. The dealership says they cant test for the problem or fix anything until Kia authorizes them to do so. Plenty of mechanics can tell me from the symptoms it is most likely the ignition coil. I told this guy at Kia this and he said there is no test for that and without a test to confirm the issue they will not fix anything. I explained there is a test. He then changed his story to they will not test for that until there is proof that that is the problem. The test is the proof! This guy is a real jerk. I was stranded nearly 6 hours from home while my car would not start over the weekend and all they were willing to do is tow it away and leave me stranded with three dogs far from home! The dealership is no better to deal with because Kia wont authorize them to do anything to fix or diagnose the problem.

I have a 2014 Kia Sorento. The first year and a half the car ran great without any problems. Since then I’ve had to replace the alternator, the serpentine belt, the fuel injection system, oil pan gaskets, and now a radio that is also my backup camera display and Bluetooth. I’ve always done my service checks, synthetic oil like is recommended, etc. I’m beyond frustrated that every single one of these have gone bad and somehow, every single time Kia has said it’s not covered under their warranty. The car is only 6 years old and less that 100k miles even at this point! This radio has been reported thousands of times on these vehicles and is still not included in any recalls. It will be over $700 to fix. I’ve already spent thousands replacing things that would’ve been covered under other car manufacturers. Nobody would even consider buying this vehicle if they knew the issues beforehand. Please be wary!

Went in for routine maintenance and came out with issues with my tires, when I did not ask them to touch the tires. Contacted Destination Kia and they were no help whatsoever. I called four times and Im still waiting for their service manager to call me back (from March). I contacted Kia Corporate by letter. Received a call regarding my letter about 1-1/2 weeks after sending letter. I called the following week and had to leave a message. Ive waited three weeks for a return call and nothing so I called back again. Person handling my case wasnt available so the woman who answered the phone said, I see in the notes that Destination Kia offered you help. I said to her, Ummm, no, they didnt. She said, Well, its here in the notes. So I said, So thats it. Complete silence on her end.So my complaint is that Destination Kia and their corporate office seem to have no regard for their customers safety. I could have been in a very serious accident based on what they did to my car, and all they are concerned about is that they tried to help - WHEN THEY DIDNT. My vehicle went in with no issues and came out messed up! I will not buy another Kia just based on the fact they dont care about their customers.

There was no spare tire with the 2015 Soul Kia I purchased on 8-1-2015... I am very apprehensive driving any vehicle with no spare tire. I did not realize the vehicle did not have a spare tire till after the deal was concluded. I did not think any auto mfg would issue an auto with no spare tire. I have owned 2 other KIAs... well pleased with them. I am pleased with the 2015 SOUL but I cringe riding around with no spare tire!! You are putting an unwarranted burden on owner and/or driver of a vehicle with no spare tire!

Well in May 2014 I purchased a brand new 2014 KIA Soul (27 miles) from KIA ALOHA AUTO GROUP. Also invested in their so called exterior/interior SIMONIZ glass coat protection plan that was an additional $995. So long story short it was in the evening that I took possession of my brand new 2014 KIA SOUL. All was great. I really didnt check out the exterior assuming it was a brand new 2014 vehicle. All should be good. Well upon waking the next morning getting ready to take the keikis for a cruise in our new ride of course kids are out before me and my oldest son comes inside and tells me Nice ride, mom. But is it brand new? I said Yes, you no see the paper plates? He said I do. Thats why Im asking how come get all kind surface scratches and all swirls/spider webs around the whole vehicle? So I came out and yes all kinds of surface scratches and swirls throughout the entire vehicle. So I said Well we will stop by the car lot on our way out. So we did. Manager there was so sarcastic and no customer service skills. Anyways when he came out he said Well whats wrong? I said Can you take a look at the entire exterior and tell me whats wrong? He looked and had no problems so I had to point out the swirls and scratches. He said Well did you purchase the Simoniz protection plan? I said yes, he said Then no worries. That will take everything out. Dummy me was satisfied with that answer until we were cruising and I said Wait a minute so if I never take the Simoniz plan and pay extra $995 then what? Thats the kind of exterior I going be dealing with? Hmmmmm. So I waited for appointment to do my Simoniz protection. Got the vehicle back, looked great but in 2 days swirls were back and scratches were back. So again I call manager I take vehicle to their service dept and then am told by the manager that because the vehicle is black thats normal for black vehicles. LOL are you serious? Now I brought it back to you the day after and you told me the Simoniz that I purchased would take care of it and now you telling me 2 months later that thats part of owning a black vehicle. The upkeep is hard and its normal BS... So I call ** on July 2, 2014 and another idiot on the other end, Tyrone **, been leaving him voice mails 4 times in July, spoke to him once in Sept, left several messages in early Sept throughout Oct and finally 10/27/14 he tells me he spoke to manager at car lot and he says nothing wrong but agrees that there is spider webs throughout the entire exterior of the vehicle. Anyone with similar problems can you please contact me at **. If you have a solution or have someone I can talk to for some assistance on getting the dealer to provide some kind of solution. I am thinking of taking vehicle to maybe a detail shop to see what they say. I did take it to Maaco here in Aiea but he couldnt help me said I should take it to a detail shop unless I wanted him to repaint my car then he could help me. He couldnt even tell me that thats not a common thing for brand new black vehicles.

I had a 2007 Kia Sorrento. I say had because the engine blew up. Actually it failed because of a defective part in the engine. It had 90,000 miles on it and Kia refused to do anything. They should have replaced the engine at their cost but no, I suggest to split the cost with them, but no. This claim went through several levels of the corporate customer service, and they were not helpful at all. All this took weeks for them to investigate, which they actually did nothing. This should not be the way they treat customers. And let me say, I own another Sorrento, I have recommended, and friends and family have bought several Kia. No longer do they get my support.

I bought a Kia Cerato in February 2011. Since I had this vehicle I’ve experienced a vibration when it is in 3 gear. The car went in for the gearbox to be repaired or replaced. Unfortunately after 3 weeks being sent from one gearbox service center to the other, Kia South Africa can’t get authority from Korea to get the gearbox replaced under warranty. It will be send again today for a 3rd report but even this might not get Korea to condemn the gearbox. Kia SA are not prepared to provide a loan vehicle as it is not policy nor do they have a spare gearbox to replace until they can find the cause of vibration. In the meantime I can’t get to my customers and this can result in me losing my job. This will be my last Kia vehicle!

Kia has very disappointing customer service. I bought my Kia back into 2012. It is a 2013 Kia Sorento Ex. I have approximately 89,000 miles on it. My oil check light started coming on and off (it would flicker). I brought it into Kia and they said that my oil pressure sending unit is failing and that is why the light was going on and off and it would need to be replaced. They quoted me it would cost between $800-900 to fix. However, when I bought my Kia I got an extended all power train warranty good up to 200,000 miles. They said that it wasnt covered under the warranty though. Even though the actual part cost is $25 (where its located in the engine is why the labor is so expensive), but if you read the reviews of Kias, this is a huge failing part of the car. Many people have issues with this and its very common in kias. So why wouldnt they recall the part? They recalled them back on the 2011 models, but not the 2013. They are still a big problem. If this part fails, my engine would be destroyed. So then does Kia cover the cost under my power train warranty? Its a joke. When I called Kia to complain of this issue, they couldnt give me an answer after I asked them this question. It failed on my car while it was parked in my garage. I woke up to find an extreme amount of oil on my garage floor under my car. Checked my oil and there was zero in it. I had to have a service come to my house since my car was unable to move without ruining the engine. After replacing the part and labor it costed me $502.00. I would never buy a Kia again.

I bought a 2019 Kia Sorento with only 35,000 miles on it. The car broke down after less than 2 months of use. It has been towed to the dealer and been sitting in their lot for over two months now. The week my car died, I also lost a family member and was unable to get to the hospital before he passed. The mechanic said they dont know what the problem is with it and they wont approve a rental until he can find the exact problem and they also will not approve a reimbursement for the rental. I have called them several times about the fact that I am making a car payment for a new car and additional fees for rental with no end in sight. I bought a new car specifically so I would not have these types of problems. This situation is completely unacceptable and I will never ever buy another Kia as long as I live. I honestly dont think the company even cares which is all the more frustrating.

I had a horrible experience at the classic Kia in Ellicott City MD. I had complained about an issue with my car that arose a few months after purchasing my Sorrento and they kept insisting it was nothing for over a year and then kept my car for a month where it sat unworked on for two weeks to fix it. I was lied to several times and as compensation they offered me three oil changes. They went out of business before I even needed my first oil change and now Kia is saying they cant do anything about the promise made to me by a specific dealer. As someone who works in customer service I cant imagine treating clients this way and not stepping up to make sure they are happy with my services and product. I would not recommend Kia based on customer service.

They denied it.They cant process anything in a timely matter so they give me deadlines but then because they are a business that is behind the times they cant get it done. I am writing for my roommate **. She is not in the best health. One year ago she bought a 2008 Kia Rondo after her 2006 Kia blew up a few days after the warranty ended. This Kia was a certified used car which means to us it is just a regular car. The first day the rear door was stuck. The dealer had to cut the door off to open it and replace the door. They paid for it. Since then she went to get it inspected and the front coil spring had broken, the brakes all the way around are completely shot and an exhaust pipe is leaking before the cat converter. They refused as well as Kia to repair anything since it is out of warranty. She bought an extended warranty which is useless, since in my experience, they never pay for anything. But since the car was coming from one of the largest dealers in the area we thought they would stand behind it... What a joke!!! One other thing that slipped my mind but it is not something they would fix anyway. I was driving on the interstate last summer with cruise on at 65 mph, got pulled over and got a 200.00 ticket for speeding at 95 mph. I paid the ticket and got the charges reduced so as not to get my license suspended. I guess we will have to pay for the repairs, but both Kia and the dealer will lose our business and everyone we know as well!!

I had the worst experience having a Kia car. This was my first time I chose Kia because I liked the car that I was going to lease. The previous two cars that I drove were Toyota and they never ever gave me problems that usually an older car gives (one Problem on top of another). Imagine you trust the company, you get a brand new car thinking that “hey it’s a new car. I’m not going to have all the problems that old cars give and then one day you wake up, your car is not starting, the next day brake lights don’t work, the following week another problem comes up.And my car was a 2018 car and it’s 2019 now and then you call them. They keep transferring you to different departments not willing to take responsibility and ownership that you could be that one in a 1 million customers that had all these different problems with the car and maybe we can take care of you somehow. I would NOT recommend getting a Kia if you want to lease a NEW car. It was my first experience and the worst one and when you know the company doesn’t want to take responsibility for it, it’s even worse and not worth your time or your money!!!

We will never buy a Kia again. We have a 2011 Sorento and the 100,000 miles or 10 year warranty only applies to the first owner. We bought the car at 1 year old with only about 18,000 miles on it. The second owner warranty is only up to 60,000 miles. The transmission failed a little over that. I started looking and found the Kia Sorento does have a lot of transmission problems. They are fixing some of the 2-wheel drive Sorentos but as of now, not the 4-wheel drive. We took it to the dealer and was told they may do a good faith fix. Of course they came back with a NO. We had no choice but to pay $2400 to fix it. I have also read that people are on their 3rd transmission, so I can see why Kia only guarantees it for 12 months. They know it be break again, so we will sell it very soon. I find this completely unacceptable for a well kept 3 year old vehicle.

I brought my 2009 Kia to the dealership for a free upgrade on the covers for the back of the rear seats. And they also completed a free ECM upgrade according to Kias recommendations, without consulting me before doing so because Kia states that they have the right to do any and all upgrades without asking the owner of the vehicle while the vehicle is on their property and being serviced. I wouldnt have stopped them before or after, why should I, any free upgrade for my vehicle is great... but about a week or so later, my transmission started jerking when the automatic transmission downshifted from 2nd gear to 1st gear. I brought it back to the dealer and they said that since there were no warning lights or codes for the problem, they didnt know what to do. So they waited for info from their tech line. Time went by so I made an appointment for them to check my transmission fluid level again. Being it’s a sealed transmission, I am not qualified to check it and according to Kia Corporation, this transmission fluid in the V-8 is Lifetime, no regular changing is needed. The fluid costs around $80 a quart!!!!! Really???I brought my Kia Borrego to the dealer for the appt to check the transmission fluid level and the service manager said that they couldnt check the level until I prepaid for a couple of quarts of fluid due to the high price of it per quart and also that they didnt have any at the dealership and would have to special order it and receive the fluid before they checked the transmission fluid level. Im fuming! So, I politely with a smile showed the service manager their maintenance service checklist that they performed on my vehicle when they did the ECM upgrade. On it, it says that they checked all fluid levels and checked my transmission fluid level and it was signed. The service manager quickly declined saying they couldnt check it and didnt check it. So they were falsifying documents by saying that they did but now they dont. A few days later I made an appointment to talk to the Owner of the dealership. And after a bunch of defying belief of my issue, he supposedly bypassed the service manager and asked the mechanic directly if he checked the fluid and the answer was yes. Hmm, as for the hard jerking of the transmission, the Owner says that that is normal, most Kia vehicles downshift hard. He said that his Kia downshifts hard!! Its getting deeper. So I brought my Kia to a different dealership in a different city and their solution, remove the transmission and a used transmission was installed due to my extended warranty outside of Kia. A few months later, the hard downshifting starts again, mostly when the motor is cold, not from the weather, just after setting for a while. I brought it back to that dealership and they reset it back to its norm and made it worse. Now it’s doing the hard jerking all the time at the 2 to 1 downshift. From the get go, I told both dealerships and warranty people my thoughts and I blamed it on the ECM upgrade. Why would two transmissions give me that same problem?? My original transmission had around 90,000 miles. The used one had 30,000 miles. Ive put over 4,000 miles on the used one. Im waiting on answers from the second dealership on how they plan to correct this problem again. Im tired of all of this. I want my vehicle repaired correctly. I have an extended warranty up to 100,000 miles and a 1 year warranty on the used transmission that is in the Kia Borrego now. Any ideas or help will be greatly appreciated.

I bought a slightly used 2011 Kia in 2011. It was in amazing condition and I spent the next 7 years taking immaculate care of it -- never missing an oil change and keeping up with the regular maintenance. Last week, while driving, out of nowhere my car seizes and then starts making a very loud rapping noise. Engine is kaput. I had it towed to my mechanic (my cousin so he doesnt give me any bull -- he even does a diagnostic in front of me and shows me exactly what is wrong with the car and why). He says one of the pistons broke, causing tons of metal flecks in the oil (which I had recently changed). The piston had also hit one of my spark plugs, chipping off a tiny piece of it. He said the issue is the exact same as all of the thousands of Kias being recalled, and that this is a bad engine and its the manufacturer at fault for it, not me. Especially since I had taken such good care of it -- no sludge in the oil, no nothing.Call Kia customer care & open a case -- they say I have to have a Kia dealership diagnose it for them to help me. So I tow it to a dealership and they charge me $120+ just for the diagnostic. I try to give them the diagnostic from my mechanic and tell them about the broken engine and the spark plug and the piston, and they wont listen to me. I go home and wait thru the weekend. They call me Monday morning to say my car doesnt have a broken engine, but that the tiny piece of spark plug is causing the issue and they need another $350 to try to remove it and it may cost up to $1100. I tell them to wait and call my cousin to ask if that sounds right. He said, no, thats outrageous, and he calls them and makes them put the mechanic on the phone. Mechanic is a complete ** -- didnt even run a diagnostic, just looked at the spark and figured that was the problem. Cousin asked if he ran a compression test-- of course he didnt! Then the mechanic tried to say it would take 3 hours for a diagnostic then, and cousin said, how long does a compression test take? Guy says, I dont know, Id have to look it up to which my cousin replied, Its certainly less than 2 hours. You can send me an itemized list of what youre doing.I ended up making my cousin the one the dealership had to go thru. And, GEE WIZ! Turns out when they actually DID THE COMPRESSION TEST, the problem with the car is exactly what my cousin said was wrong! And do you think Kia stands by its 100,000 mile/10 Year Warranty??! Of course not! Because Im the 2nd owner. And does it say on the ads or the website that it doesnt apply to 2nd owners? Not unless you find your manual and look it up -- Intentionally deceptive and misleading. And REGARDLESS, this is THEIR FAULTY ENGINE. Customer care wont do a fricking thing and expects me to pay thousands of dollars for a new engine, even though they KNOW its their responsibility and theyve already had to recall all their other engines (but for some reason not the Rio...) My cousin even called Customer Care and said my engine is affected by the recall, theyre just trying to save face. I have years and years worth of oil change and maintenance receipts as proof that the fault is theirs, and they wont do a freaking thing to correct their mistakes.I have never been so disgusted. The incompetence of the dealership, the arrogance of Customer Care, the mistreatment of their customers, the lemons they wont take responsibility for... I WILL NEVER BUY A KIA AGAIN. Do yourself a favor and save yourself the inevitable headache and HUGE repair bills-- STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM KIA CARS AS YOU POSSIBLY CAN.I now have to junk my car after I had JUST replaced the breaks and done a bunch of other maintenance to it. I hope the company goes bankrupt and burns to the ground. They are the most corrupt lousy liars I have ever come across. Just do a quick freaking search online and you will find hundreds and hundreds of stories just like mine. It is unbelievable that an 8 yr old car with 98,000 miles on it would die with no warning and Kia just shrugs its shoulders. This is unacceptable. If anyone files a class action lawsuit please let me know -- they need to be taken down.

Later, when I tried my side, first thing I observed was that they were already repaired with glue and when I started operating them more often, that one also broke like a crispy wafer. When I complained about this to Southtown Kia in Edmonton South, they refused to replace it. My Kia Sorento 2011 had 59,*** miles on it and it jerks when it shifts at 2nd and 4th gear. I brought it to Jerry Seiner Kia in Salt Lake for service. I told them the prob and I have a strong feeling its the transmission. They tested it and said there is nothing wrong. I just need to change the transmission oil which would cost over $200 since warranty would not cover it cause its for maintenance. They also reset the computer box because accdg to them, it saved the driving pattern of the previous owner so they had to reset it. I brought the car to a different place for the oil change. On my way home, the car still jerks when it shifts. Called Kia and they said wait a couple of days and reiterated that Kia has different engine so it runs and shifts differently from other cars. Waited 2 days and cars still jerks when it shifts. Called back Kia and schedule an appointment. This time the car is on 60k miles but they said theyll honor the warranty since I brought it with the issue before it hit 60k. So they did tests on it and they said they will file a case with Kia and see what Kia says. Kia recommended things to be done but they wont change the transmission. It became a regular routine to go to Kia every Tues or Wed for 2 months (imagine all the gas I spent going back and forth since the dealership is 24 miles away from my home.) Prob started in Dec. and last week of January they decided to change the computer box. It kind of run smooth for 3 weeks until it starts jerking again and now when it shifts to 4th gear. Brought it back to Kia and the service manager specifically said, There is something wrong with the transmission. We need to make a case for Kia to approve transmission change. So I told him I wanna make sure its still under warranty although its now on 62k miles since I first brought it with the same prob before it hit 60k. He said hell try his best since we have all the records. I waited almost a week for Kias reply again, and this time they want to reset something again but it will not be covered with the warranty since its now over 60! It is just ridiculous that I brought it with exactly the same prob before it hit the 60k miles! And I go back and forth to the service dept for 2 mos which is 24 miles away, of course the mileage will add up! And now they wont cover the warranty! Imagine, before it hit 60k miles, tranny probs already! Ridiculous! Will never ever buy a Kia car again! Warranty is BS. Worst car ever! Waste of money!

Misdiagnosing: I initially went to Gwinnett Place Kia, which is now Rick Case Kia in Duluth, GA because my vehicle was and still is losing coolant. Napa auto repair shop did an engine block pressure check and told me I was losing coolant somewhere in my engine. I was also given a technical bulletin report for my vehicle indicating an engine block defect that can be causing the coolant loss. I went with this info in hand and my complaints were ignored. I was told that the pressure check didnt indicate coolant loss, but yet I am still losing coolant to this day. I had a new radiator installed maybe 2 years ago. I recently had my thermostat replaced. My vehicle has never overheated. Yesterday I took my Kia back to the dealership and is now being told that my 2-year old radiator is clogged and was charged $55 for another incorrect diagnose. The technician was trying to tell me I was filling my radiator with plain water, never happened. I know better to only fill it with coolant. I took my vehicle in due to codes P0303 and the coolant issue. My code P0303, which is a misfire on cylinder #3, was never resolved. I was told that my spark plugs and wires need to be replaced. I had new plug and wires with coil packs replaced. This didnt resolve the problem. I was then told that one of my fuel injector needs to be replaced to correct the issue. They replaced, that issue still exist. Then I was told that my engine needed to be replaced. They dismantled my engine so my warranty company can approve the engine replacement and they came out to find that my head gasket needed replacing. My repair was denied so I had to pay to have my engine put back together. Replacing the gaskets didnt solve my issues. Kia had done unnecessary repairs on my vehicle and the issues of loss coolant and #3 misfire has never been fixed.

Fantastic miles per gallon, roomy. After much research, I decided on the Kia Sorento. I have not been disappointed. A quiet ride & great gas mileage. There is a lot of cargo room, with storage in back. Hands-free option for phone. The turn signal lights on the side view mirrors are a great safety feature.

My air bag light came on while driving so I took it to the dealer. I was informed the sensor was bad on the track on the passenger side and had to be replaced. None of my airbags works due to this problem. It is going to cost me over $600 to fix this because my extended warranty does not cover it and I am 5,000 miles over 60,000 miles or it would have been covered. Are they serious? My extended warranty they sold me is not even with Kia. Something is seriously wrong and I think Kia should be checked on this air bag issue also.

My passenger side air bag light went on and I was told that I would need a new bottom part of a seat which would cost me $1.542.00. I feel that this is a safety issue that KIA motors should cover. I bought this brand new 2008 KIA Spectra. I call KIA Motors about this and the man that I talked to was not a helpful person at all and said it would take two days to see if they could help. This car has been nothing but a headache! For starters, the mileage stated in my sales agreement is about 6,000 less than what was actually on the vehicle at the time of purchase. I didnt catch this discrepancy until about a month later when I brought it in for an oil change. I tried contacting a regional manager, who promised to look into the matter, but continuous staff turnover lead me nowhere and I was very pleased with the vehicle at the time, so I just gave up, which I clearly regret. After about a years time, I needed to replace the battery, which I paid for out of pocket because I was told it was only good for 30,000 miles. I just discovered this is not true and it should be covered for 2 years?! Soon after, my car broke down on Christmas Eve and I was told it was something to do with my fuel injectors. Once that was fixed, it broke down AGAIN a few months later and Kia kept it for weeks trying to figure out the problem. They put in a new computer, and when that didnt work, they replaced the whole transmission. This was covered under warranty.Just last week I was pulling out of a parking lot, and another car was speeding around a corner so I accelerated hard in order to avoid being hit. Then my car just stalled, so I pulled over and tried to restart it. All my warning lights came on and it wouldnt turn over. Also, a bit of smoke was coming from the engine. I had it towed to the dealership, and now they tell me the engine is seized because there was NO oil in the car. I had my oil changed less than 3 months ago, but I am just now due for one based on mileage. No oil lights came on prior to stalling, no signs of oil leaks anywhere, and no noises at all.The repairs are not covered under warranty because I am missing 2 service records, and there are times where I have gone about 1,000 miles over the recommended miles between oil changes (I was told about every 7,500 miles at time of purchase). There are 83,000 miles on the vehicle now, and I am so upside-down in my loan its not even funny.. not to mention I am 8 months pregnant! This car is the biggest regret of my life!

I purchased a 2018 Kia Sorento from Hudson Kia in Jersey City, NJ, at the end of June 2018. As I write this review, it is December 3rd, 2018. They didnt pay off my trade-in vehicle for 45+ days. The payoff was then shorted, leaving me with a rolling balance due to my former finance company. Although Kia said they would rectify with the finance company, they did NOT and I just found out it went to collections, ruining my rebuilding credit. They were supposed to submit my registration as a transfer tag. Instead, after waiting almost 2 months, I received a brand new license plate. I had already paid the year registration on my old tag. Thus, Im out $350 for a tag I didnt need and taking a loss on the registration Id already paid for the former tag. I was told at sale that I could move my payment date to mid-month from end of month after making my 1st payment. When I tried with Kia Finance, I was told this isnt an option on leases. So the finance rep LIED to complete the sale. Now my payments are perpetually 3 weeks late monthly bc of my payroll cycle. I was supposed to receive free oil changes. Yet I cant seem to get anyone on the phone from their service department. I paid $90 for a synthetic oil change (trying to be responsible), only to be told that since I had it serviced elsewhere, it voids the offer... even though I have yet to be in contact with their service department. I HAVE YET TO RECEIVE MATS FOR MY VEHICLE. They cant even be bothered to rectify something as simple as this and its almost 6 months later! I could go on, but Ill stop here.Ive called the dealership more times than I can count and spoken to several people who assured me they would take care of it. Yet not a single item has been rectified. Not one. I also filed a complaint with Kia Customer Service and not one person ever followed up with me. To make matters worse, I practically hate this vehicle. Im currently searching ways to get out of this god awful lease Im in at this point. Ive purchased several vehicles over my lifetime. This experience has been the absolute worse! I wish I could rank ZERO stars.

I recently moved to Denver, CO from Sioux City, IA. I was offered a great position at a new job here and had to accept it. I own a home in Sioux City and rented it out right away to move and start my job on December 5, 2015. Everything was going great here with the move and job and I was adjusting quickly. My brother in law and sister in law live here so having family here helped with move. The beginning of January came and my mother in law decided she wanted to visit for Christmas. My sister in law let me use her car to go pick her mother up but only after she had the oil changed on her vehicle. I also decided to have the oil changed in my 2012 Kia Sorento as driving all the miles back and forth to Iowa over the past few months with the move had put me at being due for an oil change. I planned on going to get it changed at the dealership as I had always done, but wanted/needed it done quickly, so decided to go to Jiffy Lube (#901 ran by Southwest Lubrication, Inc.) 8100 Crestline Ave Unit E-2 Littleton, CO 80123 (303) 933-9319. I went on January 8th, 2016 at 1:30 in the afternoon. They were not very busy, and were able to get me in quickly. They did their standard routine as far as letting me know what needed/should be done and their different classifications of oil changes. I chose the Signature Service as they recommended due to my vehicle being of foreign nature. I also had them replace the air filter as they recommended after showing me the old one. I was only there for about 45 minutes to an hour, it did not take them long to complete, paid for the service and was on my way. This is where things started to happen. The past few months, (November-current) my vehicle had been making a squeaking noise coming from the brakes, as they also needed to be replaced, but not to the point yet of absolutely having to have this done. On January 10th, two days after the oil change at Jiffy Lube, I noticed a noise not like the squeaking of the brakes, but more like plastic flapping or something with a belt or fan blade. I was only assuming these were what these noises could be as I have heard them before on previously owned vehicles and friends vehicles. The noise was bad up until the vehicle reached 30-40 mph or about 2 on the RPM scale in the dashboard. I drove to and from work at Advance America, which is about 6 miles from my home, so about a 12 mile round trip. I did this from January 11-13. I drove the vehicle to my sister in laws on January 14th, which is about 20 miles from my home, where it stayed parked for 24 hours while I took her vehicle to pick up her mother in Sioux Falls, SD. After I returned the next day, January 15, I picked up my vehicle and went to work where I did marketing, which involved driving my vehicle around to distribute flyers. This added an additional 50+ miles to my vehicle. January 16 I also went to work, round trip of about 12 miles. The 17th, I used my sister in law vehicle to return my mother in law home. My car sat for another 24 hours as I did this. The next day, the 18th I did not have work due to the holiday, but noticed the noise was getting worse. The evening of the 18th my brother in law had a friend come over to their home, where I was at the time, to check out my vehicle. We first started the vehicle and drove around the parking lot and down the street so he could hear the noise. My brother in laws friend is NOT a mechanic but his brother is and he has been around cars his whole life, so I thought he would be able to quickly tell what was wrong and recommend what to do. After we returned to the parking lot, we opened the hood so he could look at that and check the oil, basic things everyone does with a car. We pulled the dipstick and there was absolutely NO oil on the end. We did this a couple times to verify it was correct in showing no oil. My brother in law unscrewed the cap of where the oil filter is housed to make sure there was one, he did this only after I told him to. There was a filter but no oil really on said filter. We screwed the cap back on the filter housing and examined around everything further to notice what looked to be oil covering most everywhere under the engine in the engine compartment. At this point I/they decided that I needed to go to the dealership to have it looked at further. We added 2 quarts of oil to make sure there was enough for me to get home and then to the dealership as soon as possible. I took my vehicle to Peak Kia Littleton 5077 S Wadsworth Way Littleton, CO 80123 (303) 904-7806 and spoke with **, the service adviser there. I did this on January 20th and he recommended and said the next step would be to have a diagnostic test done. The next available time to do this was Thursday January 21st. I was there right away on Thursday morning for the test as I had to be to work by 10 am. The test took longer than expected and I called my work and this was fine with them to show up a couple hours late due to this appointment. I ended up calling into work that day because the testing took longer than expected and that was due to Kia informing me that they had looked and done everything as far as they could diagnostic wise and advised me that my engine was done for and would need to be completely replaced. I immediately thought it was something Jiffy Lube had done and called and informed them I would be looking into this further and also would be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, which I did. The complaint number is **. I have not heard anything back yet from this complaint. I was then contacted back by Jiffy Lube to get more information from me and the manager there said he was investigating this. A few hours went by and the Jiffy Lube manager called to inform me that after reviewing their tapes and speaking with the service techs, that they did nothing wrong and everything had been done correctly. I did not agree and asked for their corporate number which he gave as their location number and for his bosses contact information. This location is owned as a franchise and the franchise owner just happened to be there at this time. He got on the phone, introduced himself as Doug ** owner/operator, and I explained what was going on to him. He informed me he would do his best to help resolve this and offered to go to the Kia dealership to take a look for himself and see what he could see. He spoke with the service people at the dealership and after he was done with that, informed me that he and they had come to the conclusion that the oil was coming from somewhere other than the filter housing. I do not know much of anything about auto parts or things like this as I explained to him and he told me it was basically between Kia and I, and that it was something faulty with the vehicle, and being under warranty should be covered and fixed by Kia. At this point, I figured that it could possibly be something wrong with the vehicle itself, because since I purchased it brand new in 2012, I had been to the dealership in Sioux City, IA many times with several different issues that they fixed and replaced under warranty. I contacted the Kia dealership in Littleton, Peak Kia, and spoke with ** once again. I told him what Doug from Jiffy Lube had told me and he informed me that it was NOT something that they did and said it was something that happened with or at Jiffy Lube. I told him I wasnt saying that it was something they had just recently done, but could be something with that particular vehicle as I had had numerous things done and fixed prior to moving here. When it came down to it, he told me that it would be $345.00 for them to tear down the engine to find out what the real problem was. I already owed/owe them (Peak Kia) $115 for the diagnostic test and did not have the extra money to pay the $345 to pay to do this to either find out if was something wrong with the vehicle, then they would refund me and it would be covered by warranty, OR it would be something Jiffy Lube did and would NOT be covered by warranty and I would be out there $345 and would have to pay OVER $8000 for a new engine. I did not/do not have the $345 to pay for then engine tear down since I lost my job due to NOT having reliable transportation, a requirement of my position there. They gave me the choice of either resigning or they would have to fire me since I was still in training and was losing my means of transportation. I chose to resign on January 22nd after working half the day and discussing all of these details with my boss. ** at Kia had told me, that day, Friday the 22nd of January that my vehicle was not drivable, and if I did, my engine would definitely seize up. I have left it sitting there at the dealership since. I have been back and forth with both Jiffy Lube and Kia, have filed a complaint with the BBB, tried to go and file a small claims case but after discussing with them the cost of an engine, advised that Colorado law on small claims limits at $7500 and it will be much more to fix my vehicle not to mention my loss of employment and now I am about to be evicted because I have no income. I have tried to contact numerous lawyers and other offices for assistance on what to do and how to find an attorney, but have not gotten anywhere yet. I have been in contact with a radio talk show and have been on the air with Tom Martino, who assists in consumer affairs, and has been helpful so far, but I think I need to hire an attorney or someone to help me with this. I know this is a VERY long plea for assistance, but wanted whomever read it to be fully aware of my situation so I could get some direction on where to go from here. ANY information you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Again thank you for reading this and I hope to hear from someone soon!!

I just paid off my Kia Rio 2005 in April. About two months ago, the engine exploded so I had it rebuilt. Then the water pump malfunctioned so I had that repaired. After that, it needed a new thermostat, then a piece of the radiator popped off. And most recently, the water pump needed replacement again. It is also making horrific noises sometimes when I use the brakes. So far, I have put about $3000 into repairing this vehicle. I depend on it to get to work. The transportation service in Jacksonville is terrible and I need a car. Also about two years ago, the a/c stopped working and about a year ago the switch for the headlights stopped working properly causing my brights to come on at times. And a couple of months ago, the door to the drivers side will not open unless I roll down the window put the key in the door and open it. I work full time but due to the economy our hours are cut. I am going into debt trying to repair this vehicle.

I mean they kept on changing dates on me. They kept on give me the run-around. This is Kia Financing people, Kia Financing. Theyll rip you off. Take your money and then tell you to go to hell and take a chill pill. Im a first responder from 9/11 okay and this is the way they treated me. If it was in that I just bought my car I would just trade it in or burn. People not supposed to be disrespectful like that to a customer no matter who they are Finance supervisor whatever. This Finance supervisor I hope the CEO will see this and fire you. I talked to her today. 22nd of February. Look it up. Youll find out shes a miserable individual. She told me to take a pill to relax. No its so relaxing when you disrespect somebody who served this country for 32 years. And you probably wasnt even born then. Kia Financing that will charge you an arm and a leg. Im stuck with a car paying $500 a month and I could buy probably BMW or Mercedes and pay that much. But other than that if it wasnt for the dealership done helping I wouldnt had no money to eat. Because Kia Financing is fraudulent they dont care who you are. The supervisors should be all fired instantly and replace with people that are more knowledgeable and more public relations than being a nasty hag. That is my complaint. They are the worst horrible people to finance through. The dealership I got it from is great, but the financing company Kia - the Better Business Bureau and everybody else is going to find out about how bad they are. Dont piss off a Marine.

I purchased the 2018 Kia Sorento EX 3.3L AWD new in January 2018. I currently have 23k miles on the vehicle now. This vehicle has been one of the best vehicles Ive ever owned, and Ive owned a lot of cars. The AWD system works great, handling is great, power is there when you need it and its comfortable. Every vehicle has its cons, but I find it difficult to find one with the Sorento. I know a few other people who own a Sorento and couldnt be happier with the purchase. The interior has a great feel and well put together, unlike a lot of new vehicles and their cheap composite plastic. The lines are almost seamless. The warranty (10yr/100k) seems great until you read the fine print. A lot of components are dropped off the warranty at certain mileage intervals along the way to the 100k benchmark. I did pay for the better warranty which covers all components to 100k miles, but even then other companies have warranties only going out to 24k to 36k miles, which is convenient to drop the vehicles warranty the moment it leaves new car status.I would recommend this vehicle to anyone thats considering purchasing an mid size SUV. For what you pay its the best bang for the buck. There is a transmission software update available. I brought the vehicle back in at 5600 miles to have it completed. KIA sent a $50 Visa prepaid debit card in the mail due to the inconvenience. Ive never received anything from any other manufacturer for an inconvenience.

2012 I purchased Kia Ceed 29,000 miles from Kia garage with one previous owner. Issues with the gears stiff, failing to engage the garage and web info said this is normal. The problem increased. Car became unsafe to drive. I requested the garage to investigate. The garage has now confirmed the clutch and flywheel (plus) other components have broken. Kia head office has refused to fix the car under the warranty stating wear and tear. The garage is refusing to do the work - cost of repair is 1000. The garage is also stating this kind of failure happens with low mileage. Head office stated poor driving caused the problem. I have had issues with my transmission grinding in my 2008 Kia spectra LX, the transmission is a five speed manual. The transmission grinds while shifting in first and second. I had first brought the vehicle in for the issue in late 2010 with about 35,000 miles on the vehicle. They found nothing wrong. The issue persisted and has continued to get worse and now the vehicle is out of warranty. This vehicle has been to the local dealership 6 times and nothing can be found wrong. Independent repair facilities diagnosed the problem and recommended that Kia fix it under its warranty. Oddly enough, after the warranty expired and had taken it in for the last time, it needed a new transmission and the Kia dealership suggested it be replaced. The frustrating thing is that I was a master certified technician before I became disabled and know exactly what is wrong with the vehicle and continued to get the run around until the warranty expired.

Thinking it was normal warranty work, I went to Pence KIA to get my 2010 Kia Soul (with a little over 30,000 miles) have its rear wiper motor looked at for a grinding noise it was making. I was told that it was an adjustment and lubrication issue and is not warranty covered. KIA installed a motor on the car with admitted insufficient grease inside the motor and would be deemed a defective manufacturing issue. Now, they do not want to honor their obligation under their warranty saying it is an adjustment and lubrication issue, which I need to pay for. Below is the TBS issued by KIA where they admit to insufficient grease inside the wiper motor.“Visibility: rear window wiper/washer: Kia: service action - rear wiper squeal noise repair (sa026). Provides information relating to some vehicles that may experience a rear wiper squeal noise when operating. This concern is due to insufficient grease inside the rear wiper motor. 2010 Kia Soul Technical Service Bulletin 2010/01/01 NHTSA #: 10033669, Service Bulletin #: TSB-054.”

I bought my Kia Sorento new in 2011 and I love this car. Could not ask for a better car for the money. It gets 28 MPG, and never any issues. Its very comfortable and a joy to drive.

My car, a 2009 Kia Rondo, had the right front wheel bearing go out at 69114 miles. It was replaced. I just had the left front wheel bearing replaced at 75977 miles. I have a problem with this because these should not have been a problem at this low mileage. I feel, as a safety issue, that Kia should repair the back ones also since the bearings were probably installed poorly to begin with. They wont do it.

My wife was driving down the road and our 2011 Kia Sorento just shut off. She barely made it to the side off the road. When she tried starting it back up the starter fried. We replaced the starter change the oil and air filter along with putting synthetic oil in it. It has always had a whining noise when you drove it and now it has a peck in the motor. Dont know whats going on but cant afford to take it back to the dealership. Does anyone know what the problem could be. Im just disgusting with this car.
