Buy Kia Automobile 2021 Kia Stinger
My leased Kia had a seized engine THREE weeks ago. Still in shop. No ETA on repair. Kia customer service NON existent to me. Do NOT purchase anything from this company. They do NOT care about consumers.
Traded in 2012 Kia for 2014 KIA at Jeff Belzers Lakeville MN. They brought the 2014 to my home. On January 22nd 2015, KIA had loud tick to the motor. Contacted Jeff Belzers the following day. They gave me no help said they would get back to me. I had to climb the ladder. Still no help on the issue. On February 9th I took it in to Bill Barth of Mandan. They contacted KIA, ran the tests that was necessary, the KIA only had 1000 miles on it, was a brand new 2014 Kia. Came back they found that the motor wasnt bored out and cleaned out right. So the motor has to be changed out and replaced. Been calling KIA affairs since January 13th 2015 now it is January 27th still the run around. Being passed through their agents having a car that Im paying for that I cant drive. It has been over a month so KIA customer affairs are no help. They arent doing the job for the customer.
They are the best car warranty. Where else could you get a warranty like they give. When I first bought my car, they explained everything about my car and what I had to do to keep my warranty in force.
My Venga 1.4 purchased in Nov 2014 has not to date reached more than 30 mpg approx. It has just over 4000 miles on the clock and I keep getting fobbed off. I have been told Its not run in. When asked how many miles do I need to do no proper answer given. Its down to my driving or the roads I use. Strange I use a roads or motorways I have had a license for 50 years and have driven most cars on the road includes HGVs. No one seems to give me a proper answer. I do not expect 42mpg as they state but I do expect at least 38mpg. I have keep a spreadsheet and mechanics that have seen it and customer service say that it is not a good mileage. But to date nothing has been corrected. KIA good car I do not think so. I had a Ford Focus 1100 and I used to get far more mpgs in that. My son has a Ford Mondeo estate top of the range 2 liter engine and gets 38mpg in that. So what has gone wrong? Recommend KIA. No thanks.
Fantastic miles per gallon, roomy. After much research, I decided on the Kia Sorento. I have not been disappointed. A quiet ride & great gas mileage. There is a lot of cargo room, with storage in back. Hands-free option for phone. The turn signal lights on the side view mirrors are a great safety feature.
I am writing this letter to notify KIA Motors Finance, that I had to pay $ 4435.11 on November 24, 2019 to Nov 29, 2019 with Enterprise Rental Car under vehicle# KY351854. Also rented a car rental with Enterprise today 12/9/2019. Since the 15th of November 2019, I been calling the Hyundai Leasing company to send me my title and still no answers or documents. The company tells me that they have not received the title from Hazlet DMV since 9/2019. However, when I called Hazlet DMV, they stated that they sent it back on 10/23/2019. I went to DMV in Hazlet and they gave me 2 forms to faxed to the Title Company on 11/25/2019, and Hazlet DMV, has yet to receive any title documents.I have 2 Kia vehicles that I am leasing thru your company. I had to return my NY Plates this month. I even asked for a power of attorney documents since November 2019 and finally only received one. When I went to DMV Hazlet on 12/5/2019, they stated that they need the titles. Previously I created a Fed EX Account and now is still in process from Newport CA, since 11/26/2019. Oldbridge, NJ 008857. We are extremely disappointed. The majority of the workers that you have are dishonest. I never received one phone call from your agents, to let me know what was going on. It would be appreciated if I can received some type of reimbursement, and be excuse for my Kia Leasing this month, since I am not able to drive these 2 vehicles. Thank You so much for your understanding and appreciation.
Why am I liable for something that has not been my fault? I am giving this a day to be resolved then I will go to my lawyers which is scorpion and I will not give up. I refuse to pay a service. When I pay for the service if I wanted to pay I was not going to take the service plan. I know I have to pay for the brakes. I will not pay the service so let me explain myself for the 100th time. I took my car for the service as agreed with Kia east rand branch. On the 3rd I had a accident with my car. As per attached you can clearly see I picked it up on the 23rd of Dec knowing I never skip my service as you can see and Im never late either. I tried phoning Kia Kempton as thats where I always take my car. Disappointingly no one responds. I then phone your kia kempton sales to find out why is no one getting back to find out oh they closed. Fair enough.I go on your useless website where it clearly states book a service, leave your details, someone will get back to you. And to my surprise guess what? No one did. So sad. This I did in Dec knowing my car needs to go. I desperately try and get hold of someone. No one phones me back. I phone your branch east rand either the 28 or 29 Dec. I get the following words: Sorry we are full but we can help you the 3rd. Knowingly this is not going to work as its due now they assure me its no problem at all. So I believed your people again. Im doing it as per how Im suppose to keep in mind as attached my car went in. So I could not do it as I usually do early and if you bothered phoning your customers back this wont happen. So I get a nice phone call today. I need to pay for a service. Now look the lady there well done but for the rest useless. So Im giving this one day to be resolved so I can take my car at the cost of you all not me as I pay for the service plan and I was not at fault as you can see. So one day and then Im taking this further. I will not leave this. I will pay for my brakes. Not the service. My number to get hold of me; **. I expect a call in the next hour. As to how this will be resolved this car is not second hand its not ten years old and its sure as ** has never missed a service and kia kempton didnt say nothing at all. So blame your staff not me. I pay you still and whats sad its 200000 not a 5000 second hand car. This is disgusting to think I wanted to buy another kia when this is the treatment you get when you not at fault between kia and liquid capital? My car will be serviced at your cost. Decide how so I can take it as Im running the km up by having it again your fault. One hour and Im sending it to my lawyer.
The passenger light would remain at the on position when a 130-lb. passenger is seated. The dealership, after three attempts to have it corrected, stated that the car system is not at fault. I was advised that the passenger should buy a lumbar support to move the passenger further into the seating area and that the passenger should not cross legs. This would result into safety issues if involved in a crash.
Kia does not care about safety!!! Car disabled 3 times!!! Hybrid system to second owner is under warranty until 60k. My first issue was cared for at 45k. The second on the same malfunction happened at 75k and returned the car back to me. Now the third time 85k and they won’t fix the issue but it’s the same one that never got fixed? How is this good customer care? You never fixed the issue. It is part of the hybrid system!Additionally it takes 10 plus days to get ahold of anyone! The first time I was on the freeway the car disabled leaving me stranded. Second time it disabled causing a car accident. The third time a month after the accident leaving me stuck again and now reporting a lemon. They won’t accept that the car is unsafe. Causing me to have to get a lawyer? Why can’t Kia just settle and give me a safe car/fix this one! I love this car but hate that I feel unsafe and am so sad I can’t ever bring myself to buy a new one because Kia Motors does not take safety serious!!! The car disabled 3 times! Does it really take someone dying or being seriously injured to actually care for this company? Can’t believe national and the executive team doesn’t want to improve the image of safety.
This has been the WORST experience I have EVER had. I went through USAA to buyout my Kia from a lease. Two months later I start getting collections calls saying Im two months behind because Indiana is a dealer only state, and not only was I never informed, records indicate that Kia CASHED the check from USAA. They claim they issued a refund check to USAA but a week later, USAA still doesnt have it. Now I am paying two car loans, both of which are accruing interest. THIS IS ILLEGAL!
All I can say is if you get a Kia, pray that nothing ever goes wrong with it and that you need to deal with Corporate Headquarters. They are the most irresponsible and useless group of people I have ever dealt with. I had a recall on my car that was unsafe to drive. After over a month of back and forth where I was told the part was ordered and it was not, and then I was told I would get loaner car and then I was told I could not get a loaner car and that I would have to be reimbursed for renting my own car. I spent almost $650 for a rental car for a week and a half plus having to UBER to and from the car rental place. On December 21st, they approved my reimbursement and told to allow 30-45 days for completion. On January 27th (31 days later) I contacted Kia to find out the status of my reimbursement. I was told on January 28 (32 days) it was in final review and would be processed shortly. After receiving and hearing nothing, I contacted again on Feb 5 (40 days) and have since had no response. It is now Feb 12 (47 days) and I have yet to receive reimbursement nor any response from Kia. I spoke to manager, Brenda ** at Kia today who also told me that the reimbursement is still processing and she would follow up with me. Brenda did not follow up with me so I had to email her 8 days later and she told me it was still being processed and she requested it to be expedited (I thought this had already been done?). Now it has been another 5 days since she responded to me. I am going on 66 days since my reimbursement was approved with no check and no ETA of when I will get it.I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and Kia just responds stating my case is being worked on and to work with my case manager. And to note, my case manager, David, if he still is my case manager, hasnt responded to me since January 28th (28 days ago). This is insane. I just want my money. I have been charged 2 months of interest on my credit card now and still they cannot even tell me when to expect my check. I WILL NEVER EVER BUY A KIA AGAIN AND REGRET BUYING THIS ONE. KIA IS A JOKE.
As I said, I am 38, I have five kids, am a retired army vet and between those two things, I dont expect two many surprises to come my way that I havent seen before. I live in Mass, so I needed a car that could handle the weather and give me the room with safety I needed. I bought a black 2014 soul with 25 miles on it. We all remember the Kias when we were young. Not good cars at all. But now, I dont know any other. The soul has an unbelievable solid engine. It rides smooth, its amazing the space Inside. It is loaded! I bought this car brand new for around $10,000, below any car brand new with all these options. We have been hit with the worst snow since 1978, my car hasnt gotten stuck once. I see range rovers explores, etc. on the side of the highway. But not Penelope, my kids named her. Boiled down, if and when I need a new car, I will definitely buy a Kia. Its the most reliable, gas efficient, safe, and family and pocket friendly car on the market! Thank you Kia.
Vehicle exhibited more frequent and louder squealing noise problems from steering. After service recall work was performed than before work was supposedly performed at Regal Kia Service Department. I am concerned for my safety when driving this vehicle now. Also there was damage to rear bumper licence plate frame like the car scraped the ground.
The Car is Kia cerato 2011 with identification number of KNAFW411BB5369214. The purchase date was15-7-2011 and the number of kilometers is 9000. The car has been received on 15-7-2011 from the main branch (Abu rRwash, Cairo /Alex. Desert road) and after one month from using the car, it was noted when two persons ride on the back seat that a crack sound in the suspension system is heard. I went to Kias agent Elgendy 3S Elmahalla Elkobra branch to solve this problem and accordingly, after the maintenance, the sound disappeared. After five days only from the maintenance, the sound comes back again. As of now, I went six times to Kias agents and every time sound disappears and comes back after 4-5 days from maintenance. I have sent more than one complaint to the Egyptian International Trading & Agencies Co. and until now the problem is not yet solved. Upon this, I have advised all of my friends and relatives not to buy any Kia cars as bad after sales services increase customer dissatisfaction and negatively affect Kias sales and reputation. Finally, I need my problem to be solved; otherwise my car needs to be replaced. Thanks and kind regards.
My 2013 Kia Soul keeps chugging and does not want to go. Have had it in the shop numerous times, nothing wrong with it. I decided to keep dumping the fuel cleaner in. Seems to have helped. I quit and now chugging away with 19-23 mpg on highway. Feels like there is a drag on the engine all the time then all the sudden it will go for a couple days in the 30 mpg. Sick of it!! Being stuck in traffic with a chugging car is sickening!! Plus the paint is coming off the bumper. Piece of crap!!!
2015 Soul a big loser. Under powered especially with air turned on. So-so gas mileage. I live in FL, the air conditioner has a hard time keeping car cool once it hits 90 degrees. Have to keep on recycle a lot. Stupid stuff Kia did: Cant install a cargo cover in base model, I guess they dont want to sell them; Cant purchase body side moldings, I guess they want you to bring the car into their shops to fix all the dings. The only thing that saves this car is the warranty.
Last Friday it was raining and I was parked in a stall at the grocery store. I was on the phone (which comes through the radio) when I heard a loud POPPING sound and the radio went off and the screen completely black. I took the vehicle to AutoZone first as it was believed to be the fuse. The fuses were fine not blown. I then took the car to Car Pros Kia in Carson on Avalon Blvd. They charged me $118.00 for a diagnosis ($668.00) & then they say that the radio is blown. They would have to send it out for repair which would be $550.00 ($668.00-$118.00) and if they found something in it like coins & or toys/foreign objects then it would be an additional $1,500.00 on top of the $668.00. I asked if it was covered and because my car had 106,000 miles it was not covered! Out of ALL of the cars Ive owned this has got to be the worst. 3 MOS after owning it the stitching in the rear seats and the drivers seat began to come apart and of course this too wasnt covered under the warranty. I purchased this vehicle new (traded in my 2006 Volkswagen Passat, which was the worst decision Ive ever made. They dont care about their customers. I will NEVER purchase another KIA.
I cannot get my check engine light to stay off. Every state inspection time, I go through the same problems. Always a misfire or several other sensors are replaced. This is rather expensive.
I purchased a 2019 Kia Stinger a few months ago. I had a small accident and my car is still at the shop waiting for parts that Kia does not have for their own cars. I just got off a call with the incompetent representative telling me there is nothing they can do and my part will arrive in MARCH! My brand new KIA Stinger 2019 luxury car is going to sit for 6 months because KIA does not have fenders???? I will NEVER buy KIA again!!! Disgrace!
I have been getting my car repaired here for over a year and I never had a bad experience until today. I had a flat tire, called roadside assistance and when they attempted to take the tire off one of the lug nuts were put on crooked from when I got my tires changed months before. Once I got to the dealership Artie **., the service employee was extremely rude and dismissive. I told him that all I needed them to do was take the lug nut off and put it back on properly until I can get a new tire. He told me to write down my number and they would be in contact but it may be a few days. This was not fair to me because I just wanted them to fix what they did wrong and instead of being helpful, they were rude and inconsiderate.
My 2013 Kia Soul, still under warranty, has major engine problems. An independent mechanic says its a cylinder. Kia refuses to repair without all service records since purchase. Many oil changes were done at home!! Im out a basically new car!! Anyone know of a class action against them about this matter? I know they had the same issues with Kia Sorento.
I arrived to Kia at 8 am on Saturday 2-18/17 because my car was making noises when I pressed on the brakes. After 2 hours the rep came to the waiting room to speak to another customer and when finished he yelled across the room at me maam your car probably needs brakes then walked off...duh. I told them that when I got there. After another 30 min the same guy came to me stating my car needed brakes and they dont have them and it will be a few days before they can get them. My options are 1. drive away and come back in a few days to have my brakes changed and try not to drive too much because if additional parts go bad I will have to pay a lot more and they may not have all the parts...they really told me that. 2. Pay for a rental car until the parts come in and they can get replaced. They refused to get me a liner at no fee. 3. They could order some brakes from the auto parts store nearby and use them, but they may be noisy and not last. Wtf. I drive a Kia Sorento 2014, I come to KIA to get KIA parts. This is the first and last time I come here. So horrible.
I have a 2009 Kia Borrego. I had to replace first engine because it was filled with sludge. I contacted Kia dealership and was told I didnt have a warranty and they wouldnt replace the engine. I had the warranty in my hand and was couldnt believe this was happening. I bought the Kia for its warranty and now Im being punished. So after getting nowhere with Kia except they said they fired the salesman because he was misleading other customers as well. I got nowhere, just a warranty to look at not use. I bought a rebuilt Kia engine costing after labor 8000 and off I drove again. Not even a year later same problem, oil not holding and sludge in the engine.... what do I do now - put engine #3?
My husband and I bought a 2009 Kia Sorento in December 09, three days before he was deployed to Iraq. We were told that we had a bumper to bumper warranty, and that everything would be covered. Within a month, I took the car back to the dealership to be told that nothing was wrong. On 3 other occasions, I was told the same thing. In July 2011, with under 50,000 miles, my car started to sound like an airplane taking off. I took the car back to Kia. And they told me I needed a rear differential. It would cost about 1400.00 to replace. They explained to me that the rear axle and back wheels could lock up. I asked about the warranty. And they said I needed to show them my oil change receipts. What does an oil change have to do with a rear differential? I spoke with the district manager who is very unprofessional and rude! She said that Kia will not honor the warranty and fix my car! Even the service manager was shocked! Kia prides themselves on their warranty, and now I see why. Because they dont honor it! Now we are stuck paying 19,000 for an SUV that is broke.
I am writing in reference to the safety of my children. I am a single mother of two (one having a disability). I have purchased my second Kia in the past three years. I love my Kia Soul. I have only had this car a year and five months. I am very saddened to know that my motor is causing my car to burn oil so frequent that I am having to add up to a quart a week to make sure that my engine does not lock up on me. I am so upset knowing that as a single mother, I just cannot afford to buy an engine, a motor, nor can I afford to get one fixed. I use my car on a daily basis to transport my children, and for my job. I am planning a move across the country in June and I just do not know what I am going to do. Is there anyway someone from Consumer Affairs can help me get this fixed. My warranty is out because I am over 100,000 miles. I bought an extended warranty upon purchasing the used vehicle. I am aware there are recalls happening with Kia and would like to know if my car qualifies. I am taking a risk everyday on putting my children in that car. I was so upset when I spoke with someone in Consumer Affairs and the only response they gave me was that I better try and hire a lawyer! Please I am begging for someone to help me. After my family and I have been valued customers for years and have purchased a total of seven cars out of the East Tennessee lot, I know that there is something that you all can do. Please help!!!!
In 2010, I brought a new Kia Forte koup. I love my car. I NEVER HAD A PROBLEM OUT OF THAT CAR. But I broke my back and could not do the low cars getting in and out of them. So I went to Kia and traded on 11-2-13 for a 2014 Kia Sorento. Well, things went down hill. 1st week, had to go back and they had to do a 4 wheel alignment. Then the door handle fell apart. Went back, had that put on, then it fell apart again. The back doors had a gap in them were you could put half your hand in them. Well, after going back every Saturday for 6 weeks, GM had me come in to change car out. But every 2014 Sorento on the lot had same problems. Then I traded for a 2013 Kia Soul. Up till now, no problem till yesterday. When am going down road and a piece of my car comes off and almost hit 2 other cars. So I have had to send this morning at the dealer again. If it was not for service lady where I go, I would have already went crazy on people. I WILL NEVER EVER BUY OTHER KIA AGAIN WHEN I TRADE THIS ONE IN!!!!!! !
So I was driving my car for a errand for my job and I reach my destination which is less than 10 mins from my job. I get back in the car, put it in reverse and the car will not move. I called for roadside, they were wonderful. The wait was a bit long but understandable since it was a Friday. But once I arrive at Braman Kia it was a disaster from there. I arrived Sat 7:55 p.m and they were closing instead of someone saying, Maam we are closing, everyone just rudely walks right past me and cuts off lights and etc. So I leave the car and pass by today to only be told that theres no techs today and that I cant be giving a loaner or told anything until the car is checked and they dont know if it will be checked today. Like seriously how can you not have a tech available, that they only have students today? Like seriously so what happens to your customer? They are just stuck with no means of transportation.
We bought a Kia Sorento and financed through Kia.... HUGE MISTAKE! This company is absolutely horrible to work with... We traded our Kia for a different vehicle in February. The Kia was paid off via the new dealership... BUT Kia has called us 3 and 4 times a day trying to collect on a vehicle that we no longer own. We have spoke to several people at Kia giving them the payoff information and at the end of each call they still ask for payment.... YES... They ask for payment for a vehicle that we no longer own. There is a time lapse on Kia from payoff to their collection department. These people are awful to work with. For a month they call us numerous times a day....even after giving them proof of payoff! Our Kia was a good vehicle.... Just do not finance through Kia financial. I wont ever buy another Kia just for that reason! Horrible, Horrible Customer Service!!!!
I have the KIA K900 year 2015. I have a recurring event my car tries to EAT me. Really I mean just that. To understand this let me let you know that this car is totally computer controlled. Everything is controlled by the onboard computer. There is no manual levers to work with. E Brake is computer controlled, shifting, starting, running, lighting, air conditioning and also the steering is drive by wire. So with that information here is how my car tries to eat me. I get into the car and put on my seat belt and step on the brake pedal and press the start button and my seat moves very fast all the way forward so much that I cannot move anything. Real, leg under the dash pressed hard into the dash well and the seat with not stop until it get where it wants to go then it stops moving. Now this is the terrorizing part. I cannot move the seat anywhere. It will not move back or anything at all. Now this is scary to me because I am thinking, Hey I am pressed hard against the steering wheel airbag if it goes off I am a dead man. I am a man with a disability and trying to get out of this was impossible. I had the police and fire to come help me and the fireman were able to twist me out of the car like a corkscrew. After this happen I had it towed to KIA Place I got it from and they worked on it and could not find anything wrong so to maybe fix this they did a complete computer reinstall of my car. Well this car eating me thing happened four more time and then the scariest thing happen. My car while I was drive down the road next to Safeway ate me. I could not move my feet to step on the brake and the right foot was on the gas pedal which I move sideways to prevent me from pressing on the gas. But the worst was I could not control the car because I was pressed so hard against the steering wheel I could not turn it but very little. Visions of hitting anything and having the airbag go off was scary. Of course this end ok, the fire department and police are the greatest and best people around. I was pulled from the vehicle again and the car when to KIA car company again. The company was really mad about this because my car tried to eat the service manager also. But KIA in the sky said not to repair it because they could not replicate the error. Now this top of the Line KIA Motors vehicle The all great K900 sit on the side of the road. I will never drive it again and the car company that I got it from understands but cannot help me and still to date KIA Motor in the sky will not make good on this car. Microsoft who programmed the car computer system says it is a defective BIO somethinga majiggy they are EPOMS thingies. But KIA Motors in the sky will not authorize a replacement of the computer thingy... I will never own another KIA Motors car at all.
This vehicle has had over 20 major repairs and/or factory recalls in less than 60k miles at over $20,000.00 at retail. The problems are still there and they refused to resolve the issues during the last year of the warranty. I hired a lawyer and was paid for my inconveniences along with a promise in writing to repair the issues. I took it to a dealer and the factory Kia Service rep refused to inspect the vehicle. Paul ** is the National service manager and a pathological liar. This vehicle (and many other Kias) were given the lowest rating ever by J.D. Power and associates. In other words, they make very poor vehicles, using the cheapest of materials, and refuse to honor the written warranty. I am forwarding a substantial file to senior executive managers shortly to ensure that they are aware of the policy practices of staff like Paul, who is orchestrating fraud, with intent. This will also ensure the company cannot claim ignorance of the behavior of a rogue employee. It is clear this company is committing fraud on a massive scale and is well aware of this. Interestingly, Hyundai behaved in the same fashion, about 15/20 years ago, and were almost bankrupt as a result of consumer backlash. All the execs and directors were eventually fired. It is time for the same to happen to Kia execs. Hyundai owns the majority of Kia shares. It should be noted that Kia recalled 146,000 vehicles last years for airbags which did not work. My vehicle eventually got a similar recall (not included in the large recall). Kia and its dealers were aware of the airbag issues but refused to act upon it until they were forced to do so. In other words, they are responsible for possible deaths and/or serious injury to many people who trusted this company to behave ethically. They do not. They were aware of the airbag issues years before the recall was forced upon them. We need to start a large program to warn the world of this companys willingness to defraud and to injure without concern. If everyone starts talking on social media about the phony warranty and the inherent problems of all Kias - we will bring them to their knees - where they belong.
In August of 2012, it will be 2 years that I have owned my 2011 KIA Sorento. I bought the vehicle brand new. 3 weeks ago (at 30K miles), my 4 tires had steel threads poking out and the tires were very thin. The Sorento was also pulling to the right, very bad. I contacted the dealership, telling them that their manufacturers tires were bad and demanded they replace them and fix my alignment. Kia told me that it could have done 12 months prior, but that I am out of luck now and have to pay over $200 to get it fixed right. So, I went to another big time vehicle mechanic. They did my alignment and they also mentioned that the camber bolts needed to be replaced/fixed, but that would have to be something KIA needs to do. This place did do my alignment, after I forked over a thousand dollars for 4 brand new tires at Discount Tire Co. So, Kia Corporate Service told me to bring the vehicle in for a checkup after I told them what the other mechanic told me. After Kia was done, they hit me with a charge for another alignment! I explained to the guy that we had told him from the beginning that we had an alignment done and that we did not authorize this. Then, Kia told me that the camber bolts were installed backwards and the mechanic had to fix that too. I told the guy, How could that be? The other mechanic never even touched the bolts. After I was forced to pay in order to be able to drive it off, the Sorento went back to pulling off to the right again. So, back I went to the dealership today. I took this Kia service guy for a test drive in my Sorento. This guy said that driving down our bad city roads just makes it seems like our vehicle is pulling off to the right. That there are a lot of bumps in our city roads. The service guy said they will take another look at our Sorento, even though as he said, There is nothing wrong with it. Kia also refuses to give me my money back for the other alignment that was done, which the vehicle did not need. While there, I met another customer who had just gone through the same, exact thing we are now going through. She has hired an attorney and gave me the name of her attorney.
I purchased a 2017 Kia Sedona from a Kia dealer in Queens, NY in 2017 with 50 miles. The car is perfect for my family of six as it is roomy and the LX model offered enough accommodations which made it easy to travel with five children. I was very happy with my vehicle and Kia until recently. I had an engine malfunction while driving on a highway with a relative and my children. It was New Years Eve 12/31/20, and I decided to take my sister and children shopping at a store that was about ten miles away. We live in the Suburbs which can get rural in some areas and in order to get to this one store, in particular, I had to take a highway to travel there. When I initially started the car I heard a rattling sound which I thought was due to the cold weather, however, as I drove off and drove further and approached the highway the car started to decelerate. After the car decelerated the car cut off while I was driving. In a panic, I started the car again and pulled over to the side. I had to repeat turning the car on, the car shutting off and decelerating, turning the car on, and drive ten miles to return back home. The very next day 1/1/2021 I had the car towed to the dealership that handled my lease buyout. The service manager was nice exhibited professionalism and willing to offer exceptional services to ensure that my car was repaired and that I understood the repair process. He informed of charges that would be incurred if the warranty was not covered by Kia. So everything at the dealer was done with professionalism and courtesy. The problem that I experienced with Kia was and is that they are not honoring the warranty. The Service Manager indicated that receipts were required to document oil changes performed on the 2017 Kia Sedona to ensure that maintenance was performed routinely. I provided receipts that were kept from service performed from Kia dealerships, however, was unable to produce enough receipts for Kia to honor the warranty. I contacted the Kia Customer Service which represents corporate, the customer services representatives I spoke with exhibited professionalism and advised me to try to get receipts of purchases of oil for any oil changes done outside of a service shop. However, I am unable to. So here I am one and a half months without a car, I am renting a car while paying my monthly finance bill, and I believe Kia will not honor my warranty because of lack of receipts of oil changes.I also find it ironic that I had the car serviced in November 2020 at a Kia dealership and they are not honoring the repairs. I hope that this issue is not an issue with the Sedona as I had around 65,000 miles on the car at the time the engine malfunctioned. I did check another website United States Department of Transportation Traffic Safety Administration where recently a consumer reported the same issue. I pray that this is not the beginning of an issue like Kia experienced with the Kia class engine failure class-action lawsuit in 2019. Although I love the Kia Sedona I probably will not purchase another Kia if the company does not offer reasonable solutions for this matter.
I have had my car in the dealership on several occasion. I have a 2014 Kia Cadenza. A very elegant car but it is misfiring and it vibrates like crazy on a cold start and a hot start. The service advisor is always nice and polite. But the service on my vehicle is horrible. Kia knows my vehicle is misfiring and vibrating like crazy its to the point where it Im moving in the car too it vibrates so bad. I work for a Kia dealership and if Kia tech will do me like this they would do anyone like this. I would not recommend anyone to purchase a Kia Cadenza. They are garbage. They look good on the outside but rotten on the outside. And I know they are trying to wait until my warranty go out so I would have to face this problem myself.
Since I bought a KIA in 2009, I received almost every week any advertisement from KIA or other companies regarding my KIA. Every KIA dealer I went in the last 6 years, because of moving, dont stop sending me advertisement. KIA American dont provide any email address to opt out or something else to avoid this advertisements. The cars are great for the price but because of this much advertisements, I am disappointed about KIA and its a reason NOT to buy my next car from KIA. When I will buy my next car, I will ask for a letter from the car dealer. They have to pay a punishment for every unwilling advertisement they will send me. I will see if any dealer will do this. :-)
I love the Kia Spectra because of how it saves gas, its a very comfortable car. Its compact, enough room inside to fit five people with plenty of leg space.
I was furloughed in middle March, I tried to call Kia for a deferment, their answering service said high call volume and hung up. I locked my self out of my acct. I called the dealership where I bought the car, they didnt know how to get a hold of them.. This went on for a couple weeks. Then after filing for EDD got my first payment a month later, so called again. This time they answer and tell me they cant defer but one month at a time. So now I am behind, and then they added late charges to the 2 payments I owe. Ummm dont you think they should be following all other car deferments that went into effect immediately and were deferred for 3-4 months right at the beginning of this.
The 2011 Kia Forte ran great for 50K miles. Then, I guess I hit a rock - thats what the dealer told me - that apparently damaged the transmission fluid line underneath the car. They fixed it and told me the transmission was fine. So 1,250 miles later, the tranny locks up in 4th gear. Now, Kia is telling me that I should call my insurance company to take care of this. I told them, “No way. You guys told me it was fine. Now, you want to backtrack and blame the so-called accident.” Now, they’re saying if their metal in the bottom of the filter, then its on me. I dont think so.
Update on 02/18/2019: Day 14 waiting for a resolution. Our car was taken in for service because of a check engine light being on twice. On the second inspection they determined that our transmission needs to be replaced. With the vehicle being less than 6 months old and just reaching 4,000 miles we were obviously upset. We waited for the first week asking to just have the vehicle replaced. Now Im not sure I ever want to do business with Kia again. So here we are 14 days later waiting for someone to let us know what they are going to do for us! Numerous emails and phone calls and NOTHING. It is becoming very clear that Kia is not willing to do the right thing at this point.Original: Buyer beware! My husband and I both leased new Kias in August. My Sorento needs a new transmission at less than 6 months old and at 4,000 miles. We are being told the transmission should arrive on March 10th. In the meantime I am paying a car payment on a car I dont have (at this point it is 11 days). If (big if) my car is done on time that means it will be there for 35 days! We have spoken with Randy ** (Kia consumer affairs lead escalated case) with no resolution. I have told Randy that I would like my car replaced with a comparable vehicle or a lease termination and refund. Randy is basically beating around bush without actually saying they will not do either. He would like to look into some type of goodwill. Really not interested in goodwill at this point. My family learned a valuable lesson about Kia and how much they value their customers.
The headlamp developed a crack internally. No mark on the outside, Kia claims it must have been hit. There is no way, no mark of any kind on clear globe, no way to break from inside out. Their service has been terrible, they are rude, they have been called with questions, and pictures for two and a half months. They wont send anyone to look at it, and they offer nothing. I will never buy their product and I caution anyone else. Inside is plastic and falls apart.
Great car which is very innovative and has great gas mileage. It is very technologically advanced. It is very easy to maintain too. It has a lot of amenities which are standard. I like the GPS, the voice activation, heated seats and steering wheel. It has Sirius XM and also has room for 7 passengers. The Kia Sorento stands out from other SUVs in its class.
Updated on 12/16/2019: Original Consumer Affairs complaint was filed 12/05/19. Their solution: They contacted the dealer that the body shop making the repairs is receiving the part from a wholesale part company. They yet again after 2 missed dates of which they claim the part would have arrived in which never happened. Now they claim they contacted the dealer with a new date of December 23rd 2019. Best part of it, They wont provide a rental (which most dealers have loaners) and also declined reimbursing the portion of the cost due to them not having the part available for my vehicle nor any other similar make/year. So because they cant provide it or dont have it customers like us need to wait and suffer. Why because as the customer escalations specialist described unfortunately they are coming from overseas, he did tell me that it has been put on an emergency status. We will not offer reimbursement or a rental at this time because you are outside of warranty and you are having the repairs done at a 3rd party. I do apologize. Not only have I not had the vehicle mind you (still financed) for 3 months now while paying for a rental right before Christmas but the only solution they could provide was calling the dealer for a proposed new date of arrival. But me as a customer need to jump threw hoops and submit claims both here and on social media and BBB just to get someone to pick up the phone.I have 4 children and with more than $900 worth of rental costs + deductible + an open ended date of when a part will come in with the only solution being a new date of arrival, and sorry that all we can offer is ridiculous. As the Regional manager said I am a regional manager, I would be the one you would pursue this. Unfortunately, we are not offering that. I will follow up with that dealer to make sure they get the part.Original Review: Be-careful buying a KIA. I thought I was being smart by buying a KIA which normally Id go for Dodge or Chevy! For 3 months my 2016 Kia Sedona has been in a shop waiting for KIA to actually provide or shall I say Manufacture a part in South Korea. Meanwhile I am paying for a rental. Corporate customer service couldnt help much. I was told the part needs to be ordered within the dealer, and the district manager needs to request it from Kia in South Korea to have it made. Its a damn wire harness. 3 Months with No ETA is unacceptable! I cant believe the manufacturer of the vehicle cant produce the part # 91112-A9370. I am willing to trade in the damn vehicle and NEVER BUY KIA AGAIN! I bought the car to last on the road for my family, not to last parked at the shop! Ridiculous.
Bought a new Kia Soul six months ago for daughter. The car has rust spots all over back of car. They claim its due to the environment. We had to pay to have it detailed by them. We have bought plenty of cars. Never have we had this type of thing happen. I would never recommend buying Kia. Crap paint and crap company.
We leased at 2015 Kia cadenza about a month ago. We then tried to adjust the mirror and it didnt work or go back into position. We got it replaced and got it back the wrong color and with scratches all over it and a chip in the bumper and hood. Now we have to have a second mirror ordered and painted and put on. We have had it for a month!
It makes me sick to watch the sandman Kia commercial. My young daughters watched that. What is wrong with you people? It’s so degrading for women. Cant our children watch television without being bombarded by sex? Geez, its about a car, not about sex. It makes me sick. What have you become, numb to morals. Im the Virgin Mary, but we have to start drawing the line somewhere. I will never buy a Kia now, just for the fact of the commercial. I will do everything in my power to talk people out of supporting any company that does that.
For all you women haters of the Kia television commercials that think Kia is sexist, the Mr. Sandman commercial to be exact, unless you ever had a penis, you arent going to get it. Its a man thing. Go with the flow. You dont see us men whining and complaining about all of the feminine hygiene products that bombard us during our television time. Theyre just gross and disgusting. Yeah, you bleed, yeah, you stink. Deal with it. Men are breeders. We eat, sleep and think sex. I guarantee that if your physical looks were like the bikini clad models that auditioned and were paid to be in those commercials, you will be standing in line with the rest of them.
Kia has fluffed up their look but their quality is still crap. Ive had my car in for service 8 times in 16 months. I bought my Kia Niro brand new and started having problems within less than 5 months of ownership. Im suing Kia to buy it back as a lemon. They dont communicate at all. They are not helpful and try to draw out the process as long as possible. Ive lost countless hours... even months at a time bringing this car into being repaired. 5 of the issues are repeat of the same thing. There was another reoccurring defect that took a couple repair attempts to get corrected. Parts on back order take a month to get. Techs at the dealership have talked to Kia techs at corporate and no one knows how to fix the car. The 5 reoccurring repair issue is still an ongoing issue because Kia doesnt know whats wrong. My transmission has already started to fault. My car almost stalled once after 5 months of ownership and the most recent issue is that it wont accelerate or shift into the next gear. Huge safety issues! Ill probably get into an accident but Kia is in no hurry to address any of that.
I have a 2005 Kia Sorento. I paid it off April 2013. I have had nothing but problems out of this car since then. There is all kind of noise from the engine and front of the car and back of the car. I spent $400 getting it fixed about a month ago. A week later it was messed up again and I havent driven it since.
I purchase a 2012 Kia Soul from Regal Kia and in 2016 the engine busted. There was no indications that there was a problem with the engine because the engine light never turned on. Also, a month after I had the car, the starter went dead, had to pay $400 for a new starter. I want everybody to know that the Kia Soul is not a very good car, do not buy them. When I got in touch with the Kia Headquarters, they did not want to take responsibility for their defective car. Warning: Do not buy the Kia Soul or any Kia cars. They are poorly made cars that dealership make money on. No I would not recommend a dog much more a friend.
After going over all the terms and conditions of the sales price and trade in which was written on scrap paper, I went into the room to sign all the papers that were ready to sign in which I did, only to find out mostly everything was changed. Thankfully, my mother was present and what we were told was not what the contract said. They increased the sales price instead of giving me the ext warranty they charged me. They also added a second warranty of $2,000 and the total warranty charged was $3,795.00. Right after signing, the sales person came in and folded all the papers so I could not even look them over.
A part was replaced by Kia when the car was under warranty and now, it is not working again. The car just ran out of warranty by 2,000 miles. Now, Kia states the warranty just ran out and they will not cover it. The district manager for Kia Motors is a J. **--not friendly or courteous. The Kia Motors customer service guy is uneducated and cannot read one note. He was confused and unresponsive. At first, they said they will cover a part of the repair, but now, they are saying that they will not and they never offered to even help. Dont buy a Kia.
I’m a second time ‘Kia lemon vehicle’ purchaser and I have filed a case with the Better Business Bureau. Both vehicles I purchased classify as lemon vehicles because they both came with manufacturing defects that affected my safety. I currently own a 2018 Kia Stinger that has a malfunctioning audio system and is now automatically shutting off while in drive mode. This is the 2nd Kia vehicle that has shut off on me in the middle of traffic, causing a terribly dangerous situation. I have been to the Kia Cumming, GA dealership on 3 separate occasions to address my audio system issue. To be driving a $36,000 vehicle with less than 50k miles and be frightened that my car will shut off in the middle of the highway, AND have to listen to audio system static for every 10-15 seconds FOR 8-MONTHS, is unacceptable.I took my previous Kia vehicle to the dealership on multiple occasions, over a period of years with engine/starting issues, before the engine finally failed. Kia having known that this was an issue, and not doing the right thing to rectify it before I became stranded on the side of the road, was disheartening and should have prevented me from placing faith in the company again. The inconvenience that both vehicles has caused me in continuous Kia service appointments and phone calls, is so ridiculous.Foolishly I remained loyal to the brand, and traded in my previous Kia vehicle for another, only to have the SAME type of concerns arise, engine/transmission issues AND now audio system issues as well. My new vehicle is a gorgeous royal blue Kia Stinger, which causes me to get frequent attention and have questions asked pertaining to the vehicle on a weekly basis. I can honestly tell you that my response when people ask, “How do you like the car” has absolutely changed, and my response is now “DON’T BUY A KIA”!
Returning home from Military School my Kia Niro broke down. Waited 5 hours in 6 degree weather to get my car towed on a Sunday. Closest Kia Dealer closed and no car rentals close. They offered no option. I Ubered to the airport. Got a rental to finish the remaining 7 hours of a 13 hour trip. Exhausted. Hungry. Once home began the work of what’s wrong with my car, getting the rental paid and how do I get it back. It took TWO MONTHS to get my car back. The diagnosis? Manufacturer error and no specific reasoning why my car suffered a break down no one could figure out until a technician was finally sent out to take a look. Couldn’t figure it out so just did a ‘hard reset’ and then it was fixed. No idea what the problem was though AND THEN it had physical body damage and before I drove it off the lot, called Mr. Charles ** (case representative) to figure out how to rectify this. Said there’s nothing he can do. His job is to reunite me with the car not the quality of service done on the vehicle. I am abhorred with how I’ve been treated every step of the way. The reliability of KIA CONSUMER OVERALL is not even worth 1 star. My car is not reliable and neither is Kia’s customer service. Save yourself the two months of heartache I just went through and hundreds of dollars out of pocket I won’t be reimbursed.
This review is specific to Kias roadside service. Ive been very happy with my Kia vehicle. When I found myself needing a tow on a weekend night, Triple A phone wait times were 30+ minutes, but Kias roadside service responded right away. Apparently my policy had expired, but I said that I was willing to pay so that we could expedite this process and get me to a shop before it closed. At this time it was a bit before 7pm and the service center closed at 9pm, so I figured this wouldnt be a problem. Oh, how young and naive I was.First of all, after I hung up the phone with the representative, it took over an hour for some reason just for the Kia dispatch service to connect me with a towing service. I contacted an agent twice through the online chat system during this time and was both times given some generic message about how theyre working as fast as they can and your service is very important to us. Id like to add that Im in a major city, so its not like theres a shortage of tow companies around. THEN when they finally assigned me a tow company, I was told that my ETA for the tow truck to arrive was 45-60 minutes. Well, wouldnt you know it -- an hour goes by, and still no tow truck. This time I reach out to the tow truck company directly. He tells me that the driver got tied up with other tows but is now -- only just now! -- on his way over to me. Another hour goes by. Still no tow truck. Seattles big, but not that big. At this point the Kia service center is very, very closed. It takes another half hour just for the tow truck to arrive. During this time, Kia roadside assistance checks in a couple times -- once through a phone representative, and twice by text -- but each time when I tell them the tow truck still hasnt arrived, all they do is offer banal apologies and tell me my service matters. I understand that Kia roadside assistance only had so much control over the terrible tow truck company I was assigned. However, ultimately I ended up waiting over three and a half hours just for a simple tow job -- in the dark, by myself, in a part of town I didnt know well -- and Kia did nothing to help with this aside from offer meaningless phrases. No apology discount on service at their center, no attempt to find a faster tow service, nothing. Ill just stick with triple A next time; despite the initial long wait to speak with an agent, Ive never had such a ridiculous experience actually getting service from them.
I recently moved to Denver, CO from Sioux City, IA. I was offered a great position at a new job here and had to accept it. I own a home in Sioux City and rented it out right away to move and start my job on December 5, 2015. Everything was going great here with the move and job and I was adjusting quickly. My brother in law and sister in law live here so having family here helped with move. The beginning of January came and my mother in law decided she wanted to visit for Christmas. My sister in law let me use her car to go pick her mother up but only after she had the oil changed on her vehicle. I also decided to have the oil changed in my 2012 Kia Sorento as driving all the miles back and forth to Iowa over the past few months with the move had put me at being due for an oil change. I planned on going to get it changed at the dealership as I had always done, but wanted/needed it done quickly, so decided to go to Jiffy Lube (#901 ran by Southwest Lubrication, Inc.) 8100 Crestline Ave Unit E-2 Littleton, CO 80123 (303) 933-9319. I went on January 8th, 2016 at 1:30 in the afternoon. They were not very busy, and were able to get me in quickly. They did their standard routine as far as letting me know what needed/should be done and their different classifications of oil changes. I chose the Signature Service as they recommended due to my vehicle being of foreign nature. I also had them replace the air filter as they recommended after showing me the old one. I was only there for about 45 minutes to an hour, it did not take them long to complete, paid for the service and was on my way. This is where things started to happen. The past few months, (November-current) my vehicle had been making a squeaking noise coming from the brakes, as they also needed to be replaced, but not to the point yet of absolutely having to have this done. On January 10th, two days after the oil change at Jiffy Lube, I noticed a noise not like the squeaking of the brakes, but more like plastic flapping or something with a belt or fan blade. I was only assuming these were what these noises could be as I have heard them before on previously owned vehicles and friends vehicles. The noise was bad up until the vehicle reached 30-40 mph or about 2 on the RPM scale in the dashboard. I drove to and from work at Advance America, which is about 6 miles from my home, so about a 12 mile round trip. I did this from January 11-13. I drove the vehicle to my sister in laws on January 14th, which is about 20 miles from my home, where it stayed parked for 24 hours while I took her vehicle to pick up her mother in Sioux Falls, SD. After I returned the next day, January 15, I picked up my vehicle and went to work where I did marketing, which involved driving my vehicle around to distribute flyers. This added an additional 50+ miles to my vehicle. January 16 I also went to work, round trip of about 12 miles. The 17th, I used my sister in law vehicle to return my mother in law home. My car sat for another 24 hours as I did this. The next day, the 18th I did not have work due to the holiday, but noticed the noise was getting worse. The evening of the 18th my brother in law had a friend come over to their home, where I was at the time, to check out my vehicle. We first started the vehicle and drove around the parking lot and down the street so he could hear the noise. My brother in laws friend is NOT a mechanic but his brother is and he has been around cars his whole life, so I thought he would be able to quickly tell what was wrong and recommend what to do. After we returned to the parking lot, we opened the hood so he could look at that and check the oil, basic things everyone does with a car. We pulled the dipstick and there was absolutely NO oil on the end. We did this a couple times to verify it was correct in showing no oil. My brother in law unscrewed the cap of where the oil filter is housed to make sure there was one, he did this only after I told him to. There was a filter but no oil really on said filter. We screwed the cap back on the filter housing and examined around everything further to notice what looked to be oil covering most everywhere under the engine in the engine compartment. At this point I/they decided that I needed to go to the dealership to have it looked at further. We added 2 quarts of oil to make sure there was enough for me to get home and then to the dealership as soon as possible. I took my vehicle to Peak Kia Littleton 5077 S Wadsworth Way Littleton, CO 80123 (303) 904-7806 and spoke with **, the service adviser there. I did this on January 20th and he recommended and said the next step would be to have a diagnostic test done. The next available time to do this was Thursday January 21st. I was there right away on Thursday morning for the test as I had to be to work by 10 am. The test took longer than expected and I called my work and this was fine with them to show up a couple hours late due to this appointment. I ended up calling into work that day because the testing took longer than expected and that was due to Kia informing me that they had looked and done everything as far as they could diagnostic wise and advised me that my engine was done for and would need to be completely replaced. I immediately thought it was something Jiffy Lube had done and called and informed them I would be looking into this further and also would be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, which I did. The complaint number is **. I have not heard anything back yet from this complaint. I was then contacted back by Jiffy Lube to get more information from me and the manager there said he was investigating this. A few hours went by and the Jiffy Lube manager called to inform me that after reviewing their tapes and speaking with the service techs, that they did nothing wrong and everything had been done correctly. I did not agree and asked for their corporate number which he gave as their location number and for his bosses contact information. This location is owned as a franchise and the franchise owner just happened to be there at this time. He got on the phone, introduced himself as Doug ** owner/operator, and I explained what was going on to him. He informed me he would do his best to help resolve this and offered to go to the Kia dealership to take a look for himself and see what he could see. He spoke with the service people at the dealership and after he was done with that, informed me that he and they had come to the conclusion that the oil was coming from somewhere other than the filter housing. I do not know much of anything about auto parts or things like this as I explained to him and he told me it was basically between Kia and I, and that it was something faulty with the vehicle, and being under warranty should be covered and fixed by Kia. At this point, I figured that it could possibly be something wrong with the vehicle itself, because since I purchased it brand new in 2012, I had been to the dealership in Sioux City, IA many times with several different issues that they fixed and replaced under warranty. I contacted the Kia dealership in Littleton, Peak Kia, and spoke with ** once again. I told him what Doug from Jiffy Lube had told me and he informed me that it was NOT something that they did and said it was something that happened with or at Jiffy Lube. I told him I wasnt saying that it was something they had just recently done, but could be something with that particular vehicle as I had had numerous things done and fixed prior to moving here. When it came down to it, he told me that it would be $345.00 for them to tear down the engine to find out what the real problem was. I already owed/owe them (Peak Kia) $115 for the diagnostic test and did not have the extra money to pay the $345 to pay to do this to either find out if was something wrong with the vehicle, then they would refund me and it would be covered by warranty, OR it would be something Jiffy Lube did and would NOT be covered by warranty and I would be out there $345 and would have to pay OVER $8000 for a new engine. I did not/do not have the $345 to pay for then engine tear down since I lost my job due to NOT having reliable transportation, a requirement of my position there. They gave me the choice of either resigning or they would have to fire me since I was still in training and was losing my means of transportation. I chose to resign on January 22nd after working half the day and discussing all of these details with my boss. ** at Kia had told me, that day, Friday the 22nd of January that my vehicle was not drivable, and if I did, my engine would definitely seize up. I have left it sitting there at the dealership since. I have been back and forth with both Jiffy Lube and Kia, have filed a complaint with the BBB, tried to go and file a small claims case but after discussing with them the cost of an engine, advised that Colorado law on small claims limits at $7500 and it will be much more to fix my vehicle not to mention my loss of employment and now I am about to be evicted because I have no income. I have tried to contact numerous lawyers and other offices for assistance on what to do and how to find an attorney, but have not gotten anywhere yet. I have been in contact with a radio talk show and have been on the air with Tom Martino, who assists in consumer affairs, and has been helpful so far, but I think I need to hire an attorney or someone to help me with this. I know this is a VERY long plea for assistance, but wanted whomever read it to be fully aware of my situation so I could get some direction on where to go from here. ANY information you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Again thank you for reading this and I hope to hear from someone soon!!
I have a 2013 Kia Soul. I am on my third battery. Kia says there is nothing wrong. Just bad batteries. I dont have any confidence in this car anymore. Kia will not do anything for me.
I inherited my parents 2003 Kia Spectra. I was driving it on the freeway when all of a sudden the right rear tire froze up causing me to have to pull over to the small shoulder in the inside lane. I immediately put on my hazards as I was still halfway in the lane. I turned the car off then back on again. I was then able to continue on to my destination. When I got into the car again to go home, it seemed to run fine. Then when almost home it did it again. I was luckily close to a Les Schwab who said it was my brake lining, which had broken in half. They said that it has been happening to 2003 to 2005 Kias, they had three just last week. I have heard of no recall for this problem, but something needs to be done about this before someone is killed. I have to have them repaired, which cost me $270.
My mom has a 2013 Kia Soul. My mom does not drive on the freeway nor does she travel. She is retired and only drives around town. The car only has 30,000 miles on it is 6 years. She gets it maintenance on time at the dealership only. Last year the car started jerking and jumping when you would step on the gas while you were driving. She took it to the dealership. They fixed it, now this year the car is paid off and my mom has moved to Arizona from California. The car is doing it again, and now the engine light is coming on. She now has to pay big bucks to get it diagnosed and fixed maybe. My point is. After buying a new car off the lot, loving and caring for the car by way of dealership only like they suggest, using the best gas, and very low mileage, this car should last forever! So KIAs in my opinion are ** cars, now my 71 years old mother has to be dealing with this instead of enjoying her retirement. IM PISSED!
After years of spending thousands of dollars on my vehicle, I spent another 1200, and the vehicle would only run for 5 days. I tried to get them to fix it and they wanted thousands more! I offered to have them exchange it for a new one and they scheduled an appointment which I was ignored for 3 hours. They just want money so I called the corporate office and a man at escalations screamed at me hurting my ears. Issue not resolved and my car is sitting at my apartments. Extremely poor customer service!!! I went to Honda! Anyone want my poor Kia?
I bought a 2015 KIA Soul in Aug 2015, a 2015 model. I bought the car based on price and gas mileage. They touted the excellent warranty and reliability of the car. Well, six months later the car stopped running at a stop sign this past Sunday. Its a manual transmission and would not engage the transmission. Had it towed to KIA and was informed today the clutch was burnt out and the warranty on this is 12K miles and the car has 12,900K so guess what. Yep, $1500.00 dollars later I can get my car back. I have driven manual transmissions my entire life and never had any sort of clutch failure. Buyer beware. Please read and advise all your friends to stay as far away from KIA as possible. Supposedly the case was sent to KIA headquarters who denied the claim. Shame on that person and believe me I will spread the word far and wide. DO NOT BUY A KIA.
Got this car in a lease in 2017 from a very bad Kia dealership in Fort Walton Beach Florida. Continuously kept up with oil changes. The rear tail light on the driver side malfunctioned or I had to replace it twice because the seal was not staying sealed. Then I’d PCS to Hawaii 105 thousand miles. And with no notification the car stops running. Take it to the dealership and they said, Oh well I’m sorry. You’re 5000 miles over the warranty. So there’s nothing that I can do. It’s $15,000 for a new motor. Very discouraging From dealership and Kia consumer affairs. Do not buy any Kia vehicles.
I bought a Kia Rio in 2003. I was the first owner with 1,000 miles on it. It was on clearance. I didn’t need an extra car, but the price was too good to be true. 3 months after the purchase, it was still under the famous 100,000-mile guarantee. The A/C stopped working. I took it back. They fixed it. 8 months later, the A/C stopped working again. They fixed it. 2 to 3 months later, the A/C stopped working again along with the driver lock. They fixed both. This time, I told them that I didnt want the car no more. It was too much hassle and I needed a reliable car because my older car got totaled in an accident. This time, they got a brand new AC compressor. It worked for a year. The dealer told me the new compressor had its own guarantee. I told them I wanted to exchange it for different car. He said if it didn’t work, they will do it. They were very nice, so I trusted them. Less than a year later, the AC and car locked again. I took it back. I had enough. This time, they said: Were sorry to inform you. But if you would had come before last week, we could it replace it. But your guarantee on your A/C just expired. Now Im stuck with this piece of **! I keep advising my friends never to buy a Kia ever.
My wife and I bought a used 2012 Kia Sorento in Sept. 2015 with a 2.4 liter and a GDI engine. Well this past sunday Oct. 2nd 2016 the Sorento was making loud metal noises in the engine and while driving it stalled. I pulled over and sat for a little while and started it up again and drove it to my inlaws. The next day oct. 3rd I drove it to Kia Horne here in Gilbert AZ. They looked at it and told me that there is a LOT of slug it the engine and metal noise in the lower part of the engine. They told me that it was able to be fixed and I would have to spend 6900 for a new used engine. The next day I told Kia Horne that I would produce the oil change documents for the past year. I was able to get 4 receipts but not the 5th one even though I knew I had received 5 oil changes within the past year. Well its been a week and my extended 100,000 mile warranty will not cover the repairs also because of the slug. The Sorento is at 85,000 mile at this moment. I found that there is a lawsuit against Kia for producing engine that were manufactured wrong and still sold knowing this. The Claim states that the Theta 2 liter and the 2.4 liter GDI engines contains defects that cause a restriction of oil flow through the connecting rod bearings and other parts of the engine. The claim also states that the defect causes stalling and complete engine failure at any time, including while driving, making the problem a serious safety hazard. The lawsuit claims not only did Kia conceal that the engines are prone to failure, but the automaker concealed the defect from consumers to keep selling the vehicles. The reason why I am leaving this information/review is to see what more can I do to get my car fixed by Kia and or join the lawsuit or start my own in Gilbert AZ.
We have a 2013 Kia Sorento we bought in 2012. Last year my wife informed me 3 different times that when she would back out into traffic after picking our children up from day care, the SUV would stall. It was inspected by Kia a few times. They were not able to find anything wrong. They took out the electric starter thinking that was the problem and put a new one in. We had no issues until this year when my wife backed out and almost was rear-ended. I went in to Kia and spoke to the manager where we bought the Kia. They informed me that they dont know what the problem is. They are not able to reenact the stalling, so nothing happens. What is frustrating is I called Kia Canada and all they can do for us is Record the issues that I have had, nothing else. What is it going to take, for my wife to back out into traffic and be rear-ended after the Kia stalls? I have a 3 and 7 year olds still in car seats. As a Father and husband, my blood boils to think that they have no idea what is causing this which puts my family in imminent risk. And having a factory warranty that is no good to me? My family is everything to me. I feel trapped as I cannot afford to lose 10 to 12 thousand dollars if I sell. I cannot justify selling the vehicle to someone else as I cannot, nor will be responsible if the vehicle stalls and someone gets hurt or worse, killed. So I pray!!!
We purchased a 2008 Kia Rio for our son to use before he graduated high school. In the 3 1/2 years since it has, it barely had 30k miles on it. Our son reported while driving it 2 weeks ago, that it jolted and he thought he had a blowout, but upon checking it, the tires were good. However, the right front wheel was free to float forward and backward in the wheel well. The Kia technician was quick to advise us that the person we had who welded the control arm did a poor job and it broke. He was immediately advised that the car was purchased new and other than oil changes, it has never been mechanically worked on. The service manager said they would submit it for warranty approval. Two days later, it was denied and we were informed that the operator hit something and broke the control arm. What happened to the expert opinion stating a bad welding job to breakage caused by damage? This isnt my first time around the block and I know when smoke is being blown up my shorts. The denial came from a supposed Kia rep. The Albuquerque Kia ran me around for a week to even get this information from them and would not follow up on information leaving me to them. One of their people even had the ignorance to even say aw boo! What was that supposed to mean? But they have my car and I understand what a mechanics lean is.
Kia Motors wanted to charge me $470 to replace a timing belt on my auto. I refused and, two months later, my engine was destroyed. Kia stated I violated my warranty and failed to honor its Powertrain Warranty. It was brought out in litigation that the timing belt was covered and that Kia Motors has a conflict between their warranty and their required maintenance schedule. The issue that really needs to be addressed here is that the courts are allowing Kia Motors to enforce a limited liability clause to limit the damages in a lawsuit, but the clause the judges are using is not a clause that applies to Kia Motors express warranties.
I brought my used 2007 Kia Optima in June 2011. A few months later, the red air bag light on the drivers side start coming on. It stayed on. In April 2012, I thought my problem was solved when I received a recall letter about the air bag. The dealer stated that he fixed the problem but the red light is still on. He stated that there was another problem with the passenger side air bags. I did notice that side too. I will not pass car inspection in June if the light is still on. To fix the problem, it would cost $1,000.00 to replace the seat because Kia hasn’t recalled this air bag.
After my 2016 Sorento stopped shifting out of park. It was towed 3 hrs to the closest dealership. I was told there was a rental vehicle reserved and covered in a neighboring town. After leaving work and getting a ride to pick it up I was called the next morning being told there was a mistake and the car had to be returned that afternoon or else I would be charged. I once again left work early to race up and get it returned before closing. The next day I was told that there were gas charges to paid on my end. To which I explained that I would have never picked up the car that was in my position for less then 24hr and was only driven from budget to my house and back if I wasn’t told to! After calling Kia Canada to see what could be done I finally received a call back 3 days later with a “sorry but there nothing we can do”. A week goes by and my car is now worse then it was with a secondary part now backorder. They say I can get another rental. But they will only pay for a tiny hatchback this time. This was after hours on hold, speaking to different agents who kept passing me back to Elliot the first agent I dealt with, who kept not returning my phone calls again!!! He then told me my remote living and size of family does not matter to him, Kia offers to help but do not have to do anything for me. I was laughed at when I said I was upset and asked to have my call return ASAP. Worse customer service ever!!! Although I have enjoyed my car up until this point it is not worth the dealing with such a horrible company. I am getting rid of my car immediately and I would never recommend to anyone to buy a Kia.
New 2012 4cyl GPI AWD Sorento - Initially got 12mpg city, got excited when it started to get 14mpg. Now, it’s down to 10.4mpg. Have just over 4k miles on the vehicle. I contacted consumer affairs and was given a number to reference with the dealer service. Service found nothing wrong with the vehicle.I can get better mileage with 8cyl hemi. This is totally wrong and needs to be dealt with. My options are to trade it in and lose money, or look to the market or legal for help.
My Kia Picanto is just 5 years old, and already it needs a transmission overhaul. Technician says it has an internal fault - it is losing pressure. It refuses to go into gear, thus it starts up but just does not move off the spot.
My wife and I always bought Honda or Toyota vehicles but this time we decided to step out and give Kia a try. We spent time reviewing Kia Souls online and with people we knew owned them. And then we took the plunge and bought two. From the very first week we had problems. My wife could not get hers to start. We took it in three times and the manager over Kia side said You have to apply the break in Kias to start the vehicle. But I showed him in mine that it started just fine without applying the brake. Both Souls did not run right. They ran ragged and slow. It seemed to me that the direct fuel injected motor was not sync with the transmission. Our headlights would come on for no reason. My tire light would kick on but no tires were low and it would go off. The dash lights would dim in and out for no reason. The rain would leak in from poor sealant around windows. My brakes would lock with massive pressure for no reason. Each time we would go to dealer that would claim it was normal or could not duplicate the problem. After one month we were done! We traded them both in on two Toyotas. We had to go to 72 months to cover the loss on both Kias. Listen to me please!!! Listen!!! Look!!! Hear me!!! Kias are still junk! Do not buy one! The warranty is a sham to suck you in and make you into a sucker!!! This company should be forced out of business! They spend money on trying to improve their image but not on true research and quality!!! They make the outside and inside of their vehicles very appealing but the engine and components and electronics are still very bad!!! Please listen!!! Dont do it!!! I know you are reading this right now because you are diligent! Listen to me buyer! Dont buy a Kia!!!
I went to South Shore Kia on 2/3/18 after waiting over a week for an appointment. My driver’s side indicator stays lit even when the car is turned off. I got there and I had to sign for a 169.99 diagnostic fee. I asked about my warranty and the service employee said they have to look it up. At this time no one told me the warranty expired less than 1 month ago. I get a call 3 hrs later stating they have to charge me another diagnostic fee which would be 169.99 because they were not certain of what was wrong. Four hours later when I did not get a call I called in to ask what had happened and they stated they would get back to me. Another hour goes by and I receive a call that they fixed the harness in my Sorento but it didnt fix the issue, then proceeded to explain what I needed. I immediately called my husband who went down to the dealership. Like magic when he asked to see the part they fixed and why they were charging 2 diagnostic fees and 169.99 an hour YES an hour, the bill amazingly shrunk from almost 1400.00 to 185.00. If I would have went down there they would have taken 1400 dollars from me because I didnt know about cars. My Sorento is still not fixed as I now have to pay out of pocket for everything as my warranty is up. And as per Jacob at Kia Consumer Affairs I was told when I bought the vehicle when the warranty would end and they do not have to send me any notification. They do not have to respond to my complaint but it will be addressed, somehow. So I have to fix my car which I had for less than 2 years with NO WARRANTY. Also Kia Sorentos do not have fuses so something as simple as a headlight or indicator that needs to be fixed cost over 800 dollars as I need a body control module (computer) to work headlights. I may not fix cars but how is this affordable for anyone? I believe this is the only car made this way. Are we still in the 50s and 60s. When will companies be penalized for this type of behavior? I am appalled and saddened that I have to include a man in my affairs because I am not equal. And for headquarters each Kia is a independent franchise so they are not responsible for the dealerships behavior.
This has been the worst experience with a vehicle. My high pressure fuel pump went at 82000 miles and they will not replace it. Cost of 833.00. I had the car for less than a year. I have 3 kids and take care of my car. I will never buy another Kia.
KIA financed a car for me. I mailed in the payments. They are continuously saying that they did not get the payment for 6-15 days. KIA is saying that this is a postal issue. I mail all of my bills and no one else has any problem getting my mail. KIA is saying that they have waived 5 late charges. They have contacted me three times. In September they called, I paid online and they cashed my check the next day before I could cancel it. Therefore, I paid double. Last month they said, You are late but not late enough to be charged a fee. This month they claimed that it took 15 days for them to get my check.
The vehicle started knocking at 9345 miles and when it drives slow.
The KIA Soul is advertised to get 27-34 miles per gallon. I have owned my Soul for 2 months and have logged just under 3000 miles. I have it on the Economy Mode and am conservative about how I drive. But Im only averaging 23-25 miles per gallon. I drive to different locations, usually a 70-80 mile round trip, at least 50 miles of which is freeway. Needless to say, Im very disappointed with the mileage. Its not even hitting the low end of 27, and its nowhere near the expected highway mileage of 34 mpg.Now onto a totally different subject, the Mr. Sandman commercial. Sheesh. They objectify women and men. They show beautiful sexy women and big burly muscled men in super macho endeavors like sawing logs and fighting. So? Back to a real problem. My mileage isnt what the TV commercials or the window sticker represent. The only reason I was even looking at a new car was to increase my mileage - by at least 10 mpg - from my beloved Pontiac Aztek, which averages 20 mpg. Anyone else have this mileage shortfall with the KIA Soul?
I bought a used 2010 Kia Soul on August 16, 2012; with 60,000-mile warranty. I thought I would be covered for equipment-related vehicle breakdowns. Two days later, on August 18, 2012, which was a Saturday, the car would not start. It was in the afternoon outside a store in the rain. After calling the local Kia dealership, it was expeditiously towed to that dealership. I rented a car and went about my business, hoping that everything would be covered under the excellent warranty. It turned out to be the battery. It was replaced for this dealer, but as a maintenance issue, I had to pay for it. During this process, I was told that the Arizona heat is hard on batteries. This being the case, I believe that Kia policies be changed, and customer not be sent out with an unwarranted battery. To me, it reflects badly on Tempe Kia and Kia as a whole. Another issue is covered in another complaint.
My 2011 Kia Sorrento was literally a gift from God. I genuinely would not have chosen it but circumstances dictated my purchase, I would not change a thing. This vehicle is efficient, reliable and affordable. I would buy it again!
So, this is the newest car Ive ever owned. Being 22, I finally established enough credit to buy a nicer car for myself! Yay! Ive only had my Rio for about six months. Its a 2013, so theres still a warranty left. Smooth sailing until my baby took a turn for the worst. My engine started making a knocking noise and I broke down 40 miles from home. Panicking, I wasnt sure what to do (as Ive never dealt with warranty issues). I then looked into my owners manual to see that I have roadside assistance! They stayed on the line with me, asked me if I was okay, and asked me if I had a way home (which I did). Eventually they towed the car to the nearest dealership. The dealership called me the next day letting me know that the engine had blown. My heart literally sank into the ground. He said he would put in a claim to Kia to fix up my little red car. I called everyday for a week, and the service manager hadnt heard anything back. So finally I called into corporate to see what was going on. They told me that they had trainees in the department that handles those things that were just getting the hang of things there and apologized for my wait. The next day I hear back from the service manager of my local dealership telling me that Kia approved my warranty claim because my car was well maintained, that I can pick up my rental car, and my Kia is getting fixed this week! Although having no car for week was kind of inconvenient, I understand that customer service can be kinda rough sometimes, especially with trainees. All in all Im happy that Kia took care of me. Thanks Kia! :)
I had a sale agreement with proper payments and documents for buying a car for my disabled dad of 81 years old. The local Kia company didnt keep their promises and the sale contract and overcharged us. I tried to reach the international Kia Consumer and post-sales department via internet with several attempts. Until now Kia International never replied me. Is this Kias policy?
On eight separate occasions, I was charged $139.49 for a total of $1,115.92 AFTER my loan for a KIA Soul had been completely paid off. I have never experienced overcharges to this degree — house, other cars, etc. I contacted KIA Finance on four occasions over three months to no avail. I was promised everything from the “check’s in the mail” to “no record that no check was ever issued” to “a refund in 30 days or sooner” to a “customer complaint has been opened.” Neither CSRs or supervisors were able to make anything positive happen. My bank said it couldn’t get involved so late after the fact. Disappointed and will probably never buy a KIA again.
I purchased the Kia about 1 1/2 years ago. I have 48000 miles on it. Last week it started blowing white smoke out of the tailpipe. I checked the oil, which was fine, and then called and made an appointment at the dealership since it is under warranty. I took it in yesterday only to be told that the engine was ready to blow. I thought my day couldnt get any worse until the Kia rep told me that I needed to gather up all of my receipts and that of all maintenance reports on my vehicle. It would then be submitted to Kia to see if it met their approval for their warranty. This would have been fine except for the fact that the service person told me that if I ever went over 3500 miles in between changes they would decline the warranty. I have completed oil changes at home and the service person said that would be fine except that I have to prove that it was for the Kia. Now, there was no indicator light that ever came on in this vehicle. I have faithfully changed or had changed my oil and again NO INDICATOR light came on that anything was wrong. Basically I was told good luck in getting it fixed. I have read the other complaints and it seems like I am not the only one. I owe 26000.00 on this vehicle and they said that if (when) Kia declines the work then they will be happy to replace my engine for the price of $5000.00-$6000.00. Even if I didnt complete the oil changes that I did a BRAND NEW car should not have a blown engine in 48000 miles. After speaking with their rep it was made very clear to me that they are going to decline anything that I give them. When I asked about it being a Kia issue that the indicator lights werent on I was told Well I dont know why they didnt come on and Slug in the tank means oil leak I stated to the rep that if the seals leaked because of a problem with their motor that would also cause slug in tank too right? The guy told me You would have to prove that. I will never buy another Kia. Their warranty sounds good but is full of loopholes to make a customer believe that they are getting amazing coverage when what it really is is a way to screw people out their money, their car, and their wellbeing.
My used 2003 Kia Spectra had three separate sudden accelerations while I was moving across the country. During these incidents, the brakes failed to work. After these incidents, all within days of each other, I started making phone calls to Kia. They told me they would connect me with an agent in their National Consumer Affairs office. I have been trying to contact this office for more than a month now and no one answers or seems to care.
It was a great car until the engine went bad. Kia helped us out by paying for the parts, we had to pay the labor. The dealer was of absolutely no help on this at all.
I have a Kia Sedona Van. Every 90 days, both of the head lights blow out at same time while driving 55 mph on a highway. I have contacted the Kia Dealers and Kia Corporation many times already but they cannot do anything or mainly they will not do anything! The bulbs are Sylvania and were installed correctly, with clean sanitary gloves not touched by the skin or hands!
This car, Kia Sorento, car rides good, good on gas, reliable, comfortable, nice salesperson, service was great. Fits my needs and overall design. The color and options were easy to choose from. All and all a great car to drive.
I bought my Sorento new, it is a 2009. Running loud. It has 77K miles and the diff. rear end is bad. I cannot believe there is not a recall as many complaints as I have seen posted on the net. There needs to be a class action lawsuit! It can lock up while you are driving or explode!!! How many people have already wrecked because they just thought it was just sounding a little loud. I really thought it was just my tires or something. This is going to eventually be a giant recall like Toyota had, but as we all know it takes a few people dying first. I will keep all you Kia owners in my prayers. As for me....I am going to trade mine in for a Honda while it at least looks like it will run!
2010 Kia Optima service - I have taken my car on three different occasions for the front driver side wheel. I hit a curve and was trying to make sure that the rim and/or the tire was not bad. Each time I have taken it, they said they could not find anything wrong with the tire or the rim. But the tires have been rotated and now the rim is back on the front and my steering wheel is shaking badly. I took it back today and stayed there from 8AM to 1PM, to be told that I need to get a wheel alignment, tire balance and rotation, but it would be another 2 hours. I told them that I have been there all day and I have to go. This is not right. How many times do I have to take my car to get it serviced? The end result? No service.
I purchased a used 2008 Kia Rondo in Houston, Texas in May of 2009. It had around 38,000 miles on it but appeared to be in a very good shape. About a month ago, which was in October, 2011, the air conditioner started blowing only hot air. I brought in to West Side Kia in Katy, TX and was told that I needed a new air conditioning compressor and it would cost me $1,300 to fix it. My car is out of warranty because it has around 62,000 miles on it. The service advisor told me that I need to consider whether or not I want to put that kind of money into my Rondo or just trade it in for something new. My God, the car is only 3 years old! I was in shock.I asked the service advisor if this was what the quality the consumer should expect--only three years use of a Kia before having to trade it in? I asked him how a car so young would already need a new air conditioning compressor. What made matters worst was I was approached by two very pushy sales people, one of which, I told that if I had to buy another car, it certainly would not be a Kia. Ive had cars that have had over 150,000 miles on it with air conditioners that still worked like they did when the car was brand new. I was also informed that a Kia cannot use anything but Kia parts and because of this, the cost of a new compressor was triple what a regular one would cost me. It seems to me that there is something very wrong about this. I feel as if Ive been ripped off and I cannot afford to buy another car right now.
Well in May 2014 I purchased a brand new 2014 KIA Soul (27 miles) from KIA ALOHA AUTO GROUP. Also invested in their so called exterior/interior SIMONIZ glass coat protection plan that was an additional $995. So long story short it was in the evening that I took possession of my brand new 2014 KIA SOUL. All was great. I really didnt check out the exterior assuming it was a brand new 2014 vehicle. All should be good. Well upon waking the next morning getting ready to take the keikis for a cruise in our new ride of course kids are out before me and my oldest son comes inside and tells me Nice ride, mom. But is it brand new? I said Yes, you no see the paper plates? He said I do. Thats why Im asking how come get all kind surface scratches and all swirls/spider webs around the whole vehicle? So I came out and yes all kinds of surface scratches and swirls throughout the entire vehicle. So I said Well we will stop by the car lot on our way out. So we did. Manager there was so sarcastic and no customer service skills. Anyways when he came out he said Well whats wrong? I said Can you take a look at the entire exterior and tell me whats wrong? He looked and had no problems so I had to point out the swirls and scratches. He said Well did you purchase the Simoniz protection plan? I said yes, he said Then no worries. That will take everything out. Dummy me was satisfied with that answer until we were cruising and I said Wait a minute so if I never take the Simoniz plan and pay extra $995 then what? Thats the kind of exterior I going be dealing with? Hmmmmm. So I waited for appointment to do my Simoniz protection. Got the vehicle back, looked great but in 2 days swirls were back and scratches were back. So again I call manager I take vehicle to their service dept and then am told by the manager that because the vehicle is black thats normal for black vehicles. LOL are you serious? Now I brought it back to you the day after and you told me the Simoniz that I purchased would take care of it and now you telling me 2 months later that thats part of owning a black vehicle. The upkeep is hard and its normal BS... So I call ** on July 2, 2014 and another idiot on the other end, Tyrone **, been leaving him voice mails 4 times in July, spoke to him once in Sept, left several messages in early Sept throughout Oct and finally 10/27/14 he tells me he spoke to manager at car lot and he says nothing wrong but agrees that there is spider webs throughout the entire exterior of the vehicle. Anyone with similar problems can you please contact me at **. If you have a solution or have someone I can talk to for some assistance on getting the dealer to provide some kind of solution. I am thinking of taking vehicle to maybe a detail shop to see what they say. I did take it to Maaco here in Aiea but he couldnt help me said I should take it to a detail shop unless I wanted him to repaint my car then he could help me. He couldnt even tell me that thats not a common thing for brand new black vehicles.
In December 2014, I was seriously injured (including a broken back...) in a 2015 KIA SORENTO during a frontal crash because the car malfunctioned. Upon impact, none of the airbags deployed and duly filed my complaint with NHTSA. After my complaint, there were 3 others filed with the most recent being March 2016 where another person got injured because the airbag DID NOT DEPLOY. Even though the IIHS (Insurance Institute of Highway Safety) identified this problem as well as potential injuries to the driver during its SMALL OVERLAY CRASH TEST - THE MANUFACTURER (KIA) still FAILED to conduct necessary defect investigation and recall on all existing 2014/2015 KIA Sorento models that have this defect which creates and heightens the risk of potential dangerous injuries because few consumers are aware of this as NHTSA gives the 2015 KIA SORENTO a five-star rating on a test that was conducted in 2013 because both the 2014 and 2015 models were in fact, almost identical WITH minimal changes.Due to the IIHS crash test results and POOR rating the 2014/2015 KIA SORENTO models the manufacturer received, it went to address these problems by redesigning the 2016 Sorento without notifying or identifying or repairing the defects in those defective vehicles currently out in the market. IT IS ALSO EXTREMELY NEGLIGENT AND IRRESPONSIBLE OF NHTSA TO POST AN ERRONEOUS 5-STAR RATING ON A POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS VEHICLE.
Theres an oil leakage at the rear of the oil pan, and it started at about 1,800 miles. I had the vehicle back for three times already, and the problem is still not alleviated. The car has just 7,000 miles on it. I havent heard from KIA for about two weeks after an official contacted me via email.
2011 KIA Optima - After only 75,000 miles the steering wheel is getting loose. I brought the vehicle to the dealership and said it was a known issue, but refused to pay for it. They said I could put my name on the list to have the part ordered (50 currently on back order), but said I wanted to contact the manufacturer to place a complaint. KIAs 100,000 mile DRIVE TRAIN warranty does not cover the steering. I will never purchase from KIA ever again. They are cheaply built cars!
I purchased an 09 Borrego in January. About 3 weeks after I got it, it just dies when I was rolling to a stop. I thought, Maybe I just didnt give it enough gas. Weird, who knows? Then it happened again in a drive-thru, a few times at a stop light, chugged while I was going uphill and downhill and died while I was driving on I-25. I was nearly plowed by numerous vehicles (More than one person in my family experienced this while driving). So, we took it in. The dealership acted like I was out of my mind. Drove the car for a few hundred miles and called and told me they couldnt get it to act up. I explained, at length, that nothing happened before it died or after so there was nothing they could do to replicate the problem. They had us pick it up. My husband drove the Borrego home on back roads as our daughter was following him and she doesnt drive in traffic. They never drove over 45 mph. The next day, I drove to work. Halfway there, the SUV starts shimmying. I drove back roads home. My husband figured it might be me feeling it more because I had been driving another car. SO, we hopped in and started driving. About 15 miles down the road, the Borrego shook too hard to proceed. My son switched vehicles with us and when he was backing the Borrego in - shocker- IT DIED. So, back o the dealer it went. They said the shaking was from mud on the tire assemblies (I found out in this convo that the mechanic had driven it hard over bumpy roads to see if it was a wiring issue). Again, they acted like I was nuts, but gave me a borrower car. They offered to clean wires to the ECM and give it back, but cannot explain why it dies. I refused to take it back. They had an engineer from Kia out and offered to put a special computer on it so the next time it does it, they can tell why. All that has to happen is for someone to drive the thing and pray they dont get killed the next time it happens. They told me nobody had heard of the problem before, yet I found complaint upon complaint about this happening in Borregos and various other Kia models. So, then today I get a call from the service manager at the dealership. He asked to drive my car over the weekend (I hesitate to let them drive all over as I had to pay a lot of money for a mileage limited warranty which they are eating away at the mileage of). Little did I know until I got a call from the dealership manager that the service guy was planning to drive the Borrego all the way to Kansas (a state and numerous hundreds of miles away). The manager then informed me that to trade out of the Borrego, I would need several thousand dollars down because of the length of time in this vehicle and the depreciated value! I have had the POS 5 months! He told me he remembered me having to roll negative equity into the loan on the Borrego - huge joke - I didnt trade anything in on it! I was asked if it had lights flicker before it died, um-NO and I would have said so. Did it happen while braking? Again - NO and I would have said so. Bottom line, Kia has several models that die without warning and nobody seems to know how to fix it. It is dangerous. My husband asked the dealership manager how hed feel putting his loved ones in this vehicle knowing the car could stop running and someone could be killed? His response was Of course I wouldnt want to. Why would you even go there and say something like that? Well, KIA and dealership, wed ask because we face it every time we get into the defective vehicle you manufactured!
I purchased a 2008 KIA rondo in 2012 with 19,000 miles on it from a Kia dealership. We are now into 2015 with 51,000 miles and the engine is locked up! All I can say is they make really crap cars for an engine to lock up at 51k. I took great care of my car, getting all oil changes and services done on time. I will never buy another Kia and I will steer anyone I know from Kia as well.
I was driving my car and the engine failed. It ignited on fire and was Total-ed. The fire department and police came and put the fire out. I filed a claim on the day of the accident (August 18) with my insurance company that I have progressive insurance with. They have consistently lied to me and will not give me answers. All I am told is that they are still investigating and keep telling me that they will find something out. It just never happens.Because of this, I dont have a car to use since the incident and this has caused me real stress. My car is under warranty so I need someone to help me out.
I am an owner of Kia Rio 1,3/2004 and I am generally satisfied with it. There is only one problem. I must buy a new car key nearly every year. Car key is a wear off - grind in keyhole. This occurs because the key is made of brass and keyholes of steel. Service men know this, but they are powerless to solve this problem because every new elementary key is made of brass instead of steel.
I love my Kia Rio. It gets great gas mileage. I bought it used, but I will be getting a 2014 Kia Rio 5 door this fall.
2011 Optima - We purchased this vehicle brand new 20 months ago at Big Red in Norman. No problems until approx. Jan/Feb, the engine started making bad noises. I took it to Big Red service dept. They treated us like we were idiots and they didnt hear anything. I took it back as it progressively got worse, only to be told they didnt know what the noise was but they could not fix it and sent us away. We traveled to Bob Howard Kia in Edmond, OK and wasted two weekends only to be sent away and told we never changed the oil! Its ridiculously disrespectful to us to assume we didnt take care of this brand new vehicle! We each have brand new cars and trucks in this family and each one of us care 100% for each vehicle. On time oil changes, all maintenance, etc! Finally, service manager, Todd **, said, Prove you did oil changes! Bring receipts! We spent a full week collecting as many receipts as humanly possibly! I drove back to Kia Edmond to show to service manager, Todd **, only to be told after another wasted day of waiting and given the runaround, at last he said, Oh but they didnt use Kia filters. Sorry, now I cannot help you! Nowhere does any document you sign buying a brand new car does it indicate you have to use a Kia filter only! This service manager was making things up as he went along to us! Very upset. Now, the car cannot even be driven! We need help ASAP or comments on what to do now? I contacted every single Oklahoma State Organization I could think of and Kia Edmond online several times and still not one phone call or email. Sad, sad, sad to drive a 10-year warranty vehicle along with extended warranty only to be turned down or totally ignored at every turn.
The gas tank leaks. Kia had a recall but they will only fix it if the leak is on the very bottom. I was told mine is leaking at the side seam. The tank is rusted bad, it shouldnt matter where it is leaking. It is dangerous and should be fixed.
I contacted Kia 940 N Wesleyan Blvd, Rocky Mt, NC 27804 (252) 937-2222 regarding a new car I purchased 2 years ago. Since I have been issued a permanent company vehicle and never drive my personal one anymore, I wanted information regarding what selling my Kia back would be. Not only did they promise to return my call with information more than twice, which they failed to do, when I did continue calling and eventually speak with employees they gave contradictory information, were on the defense and condescending. One of the employee even mentioning a situation from 2 days after I purchased the car when he was very rude to me regarding a surprise flat tire one morning on my brand new car and the road side assistance policy that I got when I acquired the vehicle. I have taken great care of my vehicle and have made all my payments on if not before they were due, but from the moment I purchased the vehicle to now, I have hated having to call the dealership regarding anything due to the poor customer service. I can not wait to be rid of all reasons to have to contact them again.
